- 0:33Speaker 2: Hey, good afternoon, and welcome to another episode of Wellness
- 0:36Speaker 2: and Censored. I'm your host, doctor Patty g and all
- 0:41Speaker 2: Things Uncensored. We love to talk about ways to heal
- 0:43Speaker 2: you mentally, physically, and spiritually and any and all of
- 0:47Speaker 2: the above combinations kind of taking you off the mainstream
- 0:51Speaker 2: of the medical model. And just to give you all
- 0:54Speaker 2: some of the background, we're kind of winding into the
- 0:56Speaker 2: middle of our third season. This show got started as
- 1:00Speaker 2: result of some of the challenging times we went through
- 1:02Speaker 2: during the pandemic and finding alternative ways to really improve
- 1:07Speaker 2: and heal mind, body, spirit, and me being a psychiatric
- 1:11Speaker 2: nurse practitioner, I'm always looking to find ways to help
- 1:14Speaker 2: folks heal, you know, with or without medication, and there's
- 1:18Speaker 2: a lot of things we can do to get the
- 1:19Speaker 2: body in balance sort of in tune. There's a lot
- 1:23Speaker 2: of ways to manage yourself to heal without those types
- 1:27Speaker 2: of medications, and although sometimes medications are necessary, we just
- 1:31Speaker 2: like to bring you alternatives. I'm very proud and honored
- 1:35Speaker 2: to have a guest. One we've had on here before,
- 1:37Speaker 2: doctor Larry Burke, and he's been on many times with
- 1:41Speaker 2: several different ways to heal the body, and just you know,
- 1:44Speaker 2: you can always reach out to us if you can
- 1:45Speaker 2: get us today. We're live, but certainly our taped episodes
- 1:50Speaker 2: you can catch you if you tune in late or
- 1:52Speaker 2: if you want to catch prior episodes on iHeartRadio. You
- 1:55Speaker 2: can just tune into Wellness and Censored with Patty g
- 1:58Speaker 2: and we talk about all things my body spirit. So
- 2:02Speaker 2: without further ado, let's bring on doctor Larry. He is
- 2:05Speaker 2: just a very well renowned position. Hi, doctor Larry, a
- 2:10Speaker 2: very cool background. You know, I want to do you justice,
- 2:13Speaker 2: but in the practice of radiology, muscular skeletal radiology and
- 2:18Speaker 2: dove into a variety of other types of healing. So
- 2:22Speaker 2: tell everybody a little bit about you, because it's been
- 2:24Speaker 2: a few few minutes since you've been on the show.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Well, I was one of the early researchers in MRI
- 2:29Speaker 3: the knee and the shoulder back in the eighties and
- 2:32Speaker 3: that led me down to unexpected rabbit holes. One on
- 2:36Speaker 3: my paces were claustrophobic. So I learned hypnosis in nineteen
- 2:40Speaker 3: ninety and I've been doing it ever since. And then
- 2:43Speaker 3: we're also interested in the health effects of electromenetic feels
- 2:47Speaker 3: in that unusual MRI environment, which led me to read
- 2:51Speaker 3: The Body Electric by Robert Becker, which many people have
- 2:54Speaker 3: probably familiar with, and in the middle of the book
- 2:56Speaker 3: there's a diagram showing a contra map of the skin
- 3:00Speaker 3: resistance around an acupuncture point, showing the resistance goes down
- 3:03Speaker 3: and over the point, and the caption was acupuncture is
- 3:07Speaker 3: an objective basis in reality, which got my attention, and
- 3:11Speaker 3: ten years later I took the UCLA Acupuncture course for Physicians.
- 3:16Speaker 3: That same year, in nineteen ninety eight, we co found
- 3:19Speaker 3: I co founded the Duke Center for Integrated Medicine, and
- 3:22Speaker 3: then in two thousand and two I discovered Emotional Freedom
- 3:26Speaker 3: Techniques EFT, which was a perfect combination of hypnosis, hypnotic language,
- 3:32Speaker 3: and acupressure and I got to put my needles away.
- 3:36Speaker 3: And since then I've been doing a lot of work
- 3:39Speaker 3: with dreams as well, so and in my coaching practice
- 3:43Speaker 3: I usually have people do eft expressive writing, hypnosis and dreamwork.
- 3:48Speaker 2: That is incredible, and a lot of holistic healing, a
- 3:50Speaker 2: lot of just I guess a little more Eastern medicine type.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Work a little. Yeah, I'm married to an acupuncturer as
- 3:58Speaker 3: Chinese orblist too, so I get her influence is pretty profound.
- 4:02Speaker 3: I also have been doing the enneagram lately, which is
- 4:05Speaker 3: very interesting. I don't know if you're.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Into the we'll have to talk about that. I don't
- 4:09Speaker 2: think I'm familiar, but we'll talk about it now in
- 4:13Speaker 2: terms of just you do have this really cool webinar
- 4:17Speaker 2: coming up and then we'll get and shared it at
- 4:18Speaker 2: the end of the show. But why don't you just
- 4:20Speaker 2: mention so people can kind of we'll learn a little
- 4:22Speaker 2: bit more about chakras than some of the healing. But
- 4:24Speaker 2: you do have an up and coming when that are
- 4:26Speaker 2: how can people tune into that?
- 4:27Speaker 3: Yeah, it's called Spring cleaning for your chakras. Happens to
- 4:30Speaker 3: be on March twenty first, which is the day after
- 4:32Speaker 3: the vernal spring, the aquinox, and it stems from a
- 4:38Speaker 3: series of chakra workshops I've done over the last five years.
- 4:42Speaker 3: But last summer I got invited to do the Shift
- 4:44Speaker 3: Network seven week course, one week for each chakra. Then
- 4:50Speaker 3: I decided when twenty twenty six came out, I said,
- 4:54Speaker 3: I bet I can take all seven of those weeks,
- 4:58Speaker 3: compressing me into seven. So that's where there is. So
- 5:02Speaker 3: you're getting everything from the Shift Network in one half
- 5:05Speaker 3: one Saturday afternoon from nine thirty to five thirty, and
- 5:09Speaker 3: basically everything I've learned about healing in the last thirty years,
- 5:12Speaker 3: so all in one session. And if on zoom or
- 5:17Speaker 3: if you can't make it live on Saturday, you can
- 5:19Speaker 3: watch the recording the next.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Day, okay, and they can tune in, fall in or
- 5:24Speaker 2: sign up through your website.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Just Larrybird dot com or letmagic Habin dot com and
- 5:28Speaker 3: you'll see the workshop banner there and in places to
- 5:33Speaker 3: click to go to the registration.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Okay, perfect, you know, let's let's pull up the first
- 5:38Speaker 2: slide Rebel, just so everybody can kind of see what
- 5:41Speaker 2: doctor Larry is going to be sharing with us and
- 5:43Speaker 2: talking about chakras. I mean, I don't know if even
- 5:45Speaker 2: everyone knows which chakra is, but this cool pictorial with
- 5:50Speaker 2: the colors going from the top of the head all
- 5:53Speaker 2: the way down to the sacrum and just each area
- 5:57Speaker 2: of your body is a chakra field. Tell us how
- 6:00Speaker 2: chakras work, and kind of what the study of what
- 6:03Speaker 2: you do can help people to get a full disclosure.
- 6:07Speaker 3: I'm not an energy healer. I don't see and totally
- 6:10Speaker 3: see the chakras. I don't know how to use a
- 6:13Speaker 3: pendulum to dialist the chakras. And many people who work
- 6:16Speaker 3: in the chakra field have those sort of subtle energy capabilities.
- 6:21Speaker 3: I'm more interested in the person's developmental history, childhood traumas,
- 6:28Speaker 3: and the emotions that might be stuck in those chakras
- 6:31Speaker 3: which lead to chronic illuses later in life. And I
- 6:36Speaker 3: learned something fascinating about the chakra a few years ago
- 6:39Speaker 3: from Anadea judath Toho, sort of the Shift network goddess
- 6:43Speaker 3: of the chakras, and she's a psychotherapist, and she pointed
- 6:46Speaker 3: out that the chakras developed in chronological order as you
- 6:50Speaker 3: grow from infancy to adulthood. And it's great to have
- 6:54Speaker 3: that context because it clues you in as to what
- 6:57Speaker 3: emotions might be an issue at a particular age. So
- 7:01Speaker 3: the root chakra, what does an infant want? He just
- 7:04Speaker 3: wants to know if it's safe to be here. In
- 7:06Speaker 3: the world or not. And if it's not safe, then
- 7:08Speaker 3: fear is the dominant emotion and that can lead later
- 7:12Speaker 3: in life to diseases related to fear. And the primary
- 7:16Speaker 3: one I think of is autoimmune disease, where your body
- 7:19Speaker 3: reacts in a fearful manner through the immune system, attacking
- 7:24Speaker 3: precedes invaders and winding up unfortunately damaging your own tissues
- 7:28Speaker 3: in the process. So that's something to think about. If
- 7:31Speaker 3: you have autoimmune disease, then when you move to be
- 7:34Speaker 3: a toddler, tad want well tdler if it feels safe,
- 7:38Speaker 3: the todder is going to want to explore the world
- 7:40Speaker 3: and be free, and the adults are going to say no,
- 7:43Speaker 3: and then you get the terrible twos in the tantrum.
- 7:45Speaker 3: So that's where anger comes to play, and chronic repressed
- 7:50Speaker 3: anger leads to chronic pain. So that's pretty classic. For
- 7:53Speaker 3: the second chakra imbalance.
- 7:55Speaker 2: That's the pelvic area one right.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Root chakra way down to the bottom, and then you're
- 8:02Speaker 3: working way up to the sacred chakra, which is sort
- 8:04Speaker 3: of in the pelvice, okay, and then when you move
- 8:08Speaker 3: to the third chakra. When you're a preschooler, you're developing
- 8:11Speaker 3: a little ego and what did the adults say when
- 8:15Speaker 3: you start showing your ego, Well, you're too big for
- 8:18Speaker 3: your bretches. Who do you think you are? And the
- 8:21Speaker 3: emotion in there becomes shame, which if it's chronically imbalanced
- 8:26Speaker 3: in the third chakra, you want to put all sorts
- 8:27Speaker 3: of eating disorders.
- 8:30Speaker 2: And it's very similar to a lot of what we've studied,
- 8:33Speaker 2: at least on the western side with Erickson and the
- 8:36Speaker 2: stages of development. You know, shame versus doubt, those kinds
- 8:40Speaker 2: of things, autonomy versus mistrust. So it kind of does
- 8:44Speaker 2: parallel along with that. So if any folks are familiar
- 8:47Speaker 2: from the psychology side of things, I mean, and when
- 8:49Speaker 2: you take it from just the study of the brain.
- 8:52Speaker 2: The other part that I love to connect with this too,
- 8:54Speaker 2: and you can appreciate this to doctor Larry, is the
- 8:57Speaker 2: brain doesn't just work without the body and the rest
- 9:00Speaker 2: of what the body's symptoms are. So hence why it
- 9:03Speaker 2: sounds so important to really look back at some of
- 9:05Speaker 2: those early childhood developmental things and as you talk about
- 9:08Speaker 2: like illness, disease, all that stuff, and then you would
- 9:12Speaker 2: even mention trauma, which maybe we'll talk about a little
- 9:15Speaker 2: so so kind of going up the body. We've gotten
- 9:17Speaker 2: up to the like the childhood preteen years, what is
- 9:21Speaker 2: the heart shock? I guess is nextra general.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Move up to grade school years. You're becoming a little
- 9:27Speaker 3: social being and creating relationships, and guess what, some of
- 9:31Speaker 3: those don't work out. You know, you might meet the
- 9:34Speaker 3: mean girls in grade school or or your grandparents might die,
- 9:38Speaker 3: or you know, have forbid your parents die, and then
- 9:41Speaker 3: the emotion there becomes grief. And in grief in Chinese
- 9:46Speaker 3: medicine impacts particularly the lungs in the five element theory
- 9:52Speaker 3: and the metal element, but it also impacts the sinuses
- 9:56Speaker 3: and can also lead to post nasal drip in the
- 9:59Speaker 3: metaphor or there is inner crying. So it starts in
- 10:02Speaker 3: your sinuses, runs on back of your throat, in your lungs,
- 10:05Speaker 3: and those kind of symptoms are often related to unresolved grief,
- 10:09Speaker 3: so that's important. And then move to the fifth chakra.
- 10:13Speaker 3: You're becoming really a preteen and you know you're learning
- 10:21Speaker 3: to speak your truth or your your ability to do
- 10:24Speaker 3: that is being stifled, and unfortunately for young women, this
- 10:28Speaker 3: is a critical age when their throat chakra gets suppressed.
- 10:32Speaker 3: And that's why hashimotives. Thyroiditis, the most common cause of hypothyroidism,
- 10:38Speaker 3: is most prevalent in women. It doesn't happen so much
- 10:42Speaker 3: in men at that age.
- 10:43Speaker 2: And this is the teenagers or early adult preteen.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Like ten eleven, just as you're starting to become a
- 10:52Speaker 3: little person, and they speak out now. And the damning
- 10:57Speaker 3: thing that happens there is if you can't speak your truth,
- 10:59Speaker 3: then you wind up embracing a lot of lies, either
- 11:02Speaker 3: you your self relying or other people are lying to
- 11:05Speaker 3: you about what's true. So that's that's the big palm there.
- 11:10Speaker 3: And then you move to the sixth chakra when you're
- 11:12Speaker 3: which is the third eye chakra where you're learning to
- 11:15Speaker 3: perceive the world as as a teenager. But what is
- 11:19Speaker 3: the teenage up against. Well, the raging hormones are distorting
- 11:22Speaker 3: your view of the world and causing illusions and delusions,
- 11:26Speaker 3: which are the demon of the six chakra, and it
- 11:30Speaker 3: leads to think about it when the most people get
- 11:32Speaker 3: their first set of glasses as a teenager, often something
- 11:37Speaker 3: they didn't want to see in their family dynamics. And
- 11:41Speaker 3: you move up to the seventh chakra, you're you're a
- 11:44Speaker 3: young adult and you're doing your spiritual exploration. Finally, at
- 11:48Speaker 3: the same time, unfortunately, you're being expected to produce materially
- 11:53Speaker 3: and accomplish things, so so that the imbalance there is
- 11:57Speaker 3: material attachments block your your spiritual development, and that can
- 12:02Speaker 3: lead one of the most basic conflicts leads to headaches
- 12:06Speaker 3: other neurological problems.
- 12:08Speaker 2: That's fascinating, and you know, again, my mind is going
- 12:11Speaker 2: into all these different physical symptoms that I see from
- 12:13Speaker 2: a lot of different patients from and I touch on
- 12:17Speaker 2: trauma because I try to get a high level of
- 12:20Speaker 2: where people are, and then I dig into like, okay, well,
- 12:22Speaker 2: so you're sad, you're depressed, you're not sleeping, your stomach's upset,
- 12:26Speaker 2: you've got unspecific pain in different places. You may have
- 12:29Speaker 2: hit issues, shoulder issues, and then each one of these
- 12:32Speaker 2: chakras you mentioned. I think about kids develop respiratory issues asthma, anxiety,
- 12:38Speaker 2: and they've got digestive issues, and they're all on different medications,
- 12:42Speaker 2: and these things seem to have developed when they've had
- 12:44Speaker 2: an issue so early on in life. And then of
- 12:47Speaker 2: course later you know, you talk about the relationships and
- 12:50Speaker 2: maybe a bad relationship where the voice was not heard,
- 12:53Speaker 2: and they develop into the thyroid issues and then all
- 12:56Speaker 2: the way up the chain to headaches. So that's fascinating.
- 13:00Speaker 2: We've got two questions already. Bonnie is asking about can
- 13:04Speaker 2: can these chakras, I guess be changed as you grow
- 13:06Speaker 2: and learn? And is that kind of part of learning
- 13:08Speaker 2: the chakra work how to heal or improve your chakras
- 13:12Speaker 2: balance generally?
- 13:13Speaker 3: Like what I do in the workshop is I have
- 13:16Speaker 3: go through each chakra and from the E. F T
- 13:20Speaker 3: point of view, the tapping technique here, every bad thing
- 13:24Speaker 3: that never happened to is like a malware program. It
- 13:26Speaker 3: gets downloaded in your body through the acupunctual meridians and
- 13:30Speaker 3: it might get stuck in one of the chakras and
- 13:32Speaker 3: then uploaded into your brain in the limbic system which
- 13:37Speaker 3: stores all your emotional files. And then what we do
- 13:42Speaker 3: with tapping is, well, let's look up in that file
- 13:45Speaker 3: and find the issue related to this particular chakra. And
- 13:49Speaker 3: the name of that file might be fear stuck in
- 13:52Speaker 3: my for at chakra, just just to start an example.
- 13:55Speaker 3: And you know, maybe maybe your mother had postpart on depression,
- 13:59Speaker 3: you know, and you never felt safe or something like that,
- 14:01Speaker 3: and then later in life these things get triggered by
- 14:06Speaker 3: other problems you experienced. So that program starts to run
- 14:10Speaker 3: that malware program, and in that file there's a picture
- 14:13Speaker 3: and a story and this program that runs. So when
- 14:16Speaker 3: we do tapping, we just ask the person to find
- 14:18Speaker 3: the name of the file, repeat the name of the file,
- 14:21Speaker 3: get the program running in a controlled fashion that they
- 14:24Speaker 3: can deal with, and then start tapping on the acupunture
- 14:27Speaker 3: points in your face and chest, which is just like
- 14:29Speaker 3: hitting the delete key on your computer, and you're essentially
- 14:33Speaker 3: uninstalling the program. And after ten minutes of tapping, you
- 14:38Speaker 3: up and checking the file and you'll see the picture
- 14:40Speaker 3: in the story. But the program, well, if you think
- 14:44Speaker 3: about it like a computer word document, yeah, after you
- 14:48Speaker 3: change it and then you save it again, it's not
- 14:49Speaker 3: the same documents. So when you change that memory file,
- 14:53Speaker 3: the program is gone because you uninstalled it. And what
- 14:56Speaker 3: you replace it with is this pleasant tapping sensation on
- 15:00Speaker 3: your act a bunch of meridians. And then on top
- 15:02Speaker 3: of that, we can do hypnosis to put in a
- 15:04Speaker 3: program that you really want. So in the workshop, we
- 15:07Speaker 3: basically go through each level, and that's exciting, uninstalled the
- 15:14Speaker 3: the program for each chakra and then replace it with,
- 15:19Speaker 3: you know, instead of fear of the safety in the
- 15:22Speaker 3: first chakra and work our way up and that can
- 15:25Speaker 3: speak to any number of chronic illnesses that people are
- 15:28Speaker 3: concerned with.
- 15:29Speaker 2: And does it take time. I know even Tom had
- 15:32Speaker 2: asked about how we change or they set and you
- 15:35Speaker 2: just talked about how through pulling that file out and
- 15:38Speaker 2: then tapping. You'll go over that in the in the seminar,
- 15:42Speaker 2: I'm sure, but you know, I'm always calling it for
- 15:46Speaker 2: finding my file or getting help when you're trying to
- 15:49Speaker 2: find your file in your body. You just speak it
- 15:52Speaker 2: and kind of refer to it.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Well. Well, also, since you're trained as a psychiatric nurse partitioner,
- 15:58Speaker 3: you know the difference between simple trauma and complex trauma.
- 16:01Speaker 3: So I mean, for simple traumas, if people you know,
- 16:05Speaker 3: are not carrying a lot of baggage in from childhood
- 16:07Speaker 3: and they just have a car accident or something and
- 16:11Speaker 3: then they get that trauma lodge somewhere in the system,
- 16:14Speaker 3: just one EFT session can sometimes clear that out. If
- 16:17Speaker 3: someone's got a much more complicated trauma history, they can combine.
- 16:23Speaker 3: You know, there's three levels. One is you could sometimes
- 16:25Speaker 3: people are able to heal themselves just using YouTube videos
- 16:28Speaker 3: with tapping. The second level would be when you find
- 16:31Speaker 3: a coach like me who can work with you around
- 16:34Speaker 3: these issues, or if you've got serious psychiatric illness and
- 16:38Speaker 3: you know anxiety depression PTSD, you might need to go
- 16:41Speaker 3: to someone who's a psychotherapist to also know how to
- 16:45Speaker 3: do tapping or E M d R is the other option.
- 16:49Speaker 2: And sometimes it may not even be like you said,
- 16:51Speaker 2: it may not even be as deep as a trauma,
- 16:53Speaker 2: but it could be an unresolved or somewhere where like
- 16:56Speaker 2: along the lines of trust versus mistrust deficit took place,
- 17:01Speaker 2: or an impact of something maybe not a lot of
- 17:03Speaker 2: love from parents growing up. Well, I won't say that's traumatic,
- 17:07Speaker 2: it is emotionally dysfunctional maybe, And so that dysfunctional area
- 17:12Speaker 2: of the chakra in that terms of development, maybe even
- 17:16Speaker 2: like a school age girl. And just that whole point
- 17:19Speaker 2: of just the lungs and having trouble with anxiety and
- 17:23Speaker 2: confidence is because there was something there. I think you
- 17:25Speaker 2: may have mentioned, was it a lie or something along
- 17:30Speaker 2: those lines.
- 17:30Speaker 3: The fifth chakra and me, you know when your the
- 17:34Speaker 3: ability to speak your truth is being compromised, and then yeah,
- 17:38Speaker 3: you realize you either stifle what you wanted to say,
- 17:42Speaker 3: or you wind up lying to yourself about what truth
- 17:44Speaker 3: is based on other people's input.
- 17:47Speaker 2: And now, what have you found with folks that have
- 17:49Speaker 2: gone through different types of chakra work? You know, while
- 17:53Speaker 2: it would maybe seem obvious they're going to feel better.
- 17:55Speaker 2: What are some of the things that have people shared, like, oh,
- 17:58Speaker 2: you know, now I feel like this or I feel
- 18:01Speaker 2: a weight lifted. What does it feel like when you
- 18:03Speaker 2: do chakra work to.
- 18:04Speaker 3: The slest, simplest ones, is the fourth chakra for grief
- 18:08Speaker 3: Because everybody's got some unresolved grief and a lot of
- 18:11Speaker 3: people have sinus conditions or post nasal drip and when
- 18:15Speaker 3: they go to in tea doctor, they just give me
- 18:17Speaker 3: in his means or maybe antibotics, and it doesn't really
- 18:20Speaker 3: do anything to the root problem, which is this unresolved
- 18:23Speaker 3: prepped tears and their sentences. And according to Louise Hey
- 18:26Speaker 3: that that's the way she frames it, and and it's
- 18:29Speaker 3: amazing how people can clear their sciences and pretty quickly
- 18:34Speaker 3: and by finally letting go of that grief that they
- 18:38Speaker 3: might not even remember, you know, suppressing.
- 18:41Speaker 2: That's a good one because we do see grief in
- 18:44Speaker 2: different ways. You know, I could think of like five
- 18:47Speaker 2: or six different points of grief and in all different levels,
- 18:51Speaker 2: but we grieve for certain things. I mean, it could
- 18:53Speaker 2: even be just a sudden change in job or a
- 18:55Speaker 2: sudden move, leaving friends, leaving family.
- 18:58Speaker 3: It couldn't get The last five years have been restrict
- 19:02Speaker 3: and let's just say.
- 19:03Speaker 2: That, Yeah, the last five years I think are one
- 19:06Speaker 2: of the areas of why I really like to work
- 19:09Speaker 2: to have people find other alternatives to work through their feelings,
- 19:13Speaker 2: because again, you know, a lot of other shows I've
- 19:15Speaker 2: done talks about just the higher suicide rates, the higher
- 19:18Speaker 2: depression and anxiety rates that are coming in. More people
- 19:22Speaker 2: are on medication, and I hate to drift off to
- 19:26Speaker 2: the medical model, but I'm profoundly just annoyed at the
- 19:31Speaker 2: way people are being sold sort of a bill of
- 19:33Speaker 2: goods about medications. Anymore, Take this pill and you'll feel amazing.
- 19:36Speaker 2: But then as they're giving you the beautiful sunshine and roses,
- 19:39Speaker 2: they're running all these disclaimers of things. And I'm finding
- 19:43Speaker 2: now even pharmacies are getting involved in a financial benefit way,
- 19:48Speaker 2: which you know it has nothing to do with chakras,
- 19:51Speaker 2: But what it has to do with is manipulation of
- 19:54Speaker 2: people's emotions. And just an example I've been sharing is
- 19:58Speaker 2: I'll prescribe a medication for a patient because it's needed,
- 20:01Speaker 2: it's acute, and it's a help. And the pharmacist in
- 20:05Speaker 2: several different pharmacies don't just one person or one place,
- 20:09Speaker 2: Oh well, contact your provider, get a higher dose. It's cheaper.
- 20:13Speaker 2: And that is maddening to me. And I'm catching on
- 20:17Speaker 2: because it's primarily one big national chain and I know
- 20:22Speaker 2: there's been lawsuits, I know there's been deficits with that company,
- 20:25Speaker 2: but the bottom line is we all need to stop
- 20:28Speaker 2: just reaching for that magical pill because there really isn't one,
- 20:32Speaker 2: and let's pay attention to our bodies.
- 20:35Speaker 3: You know, for me, back to medical school and in
- 20:39Speaker 3: the secondary you learn all these elegant physiologic feedback loops
- 20:43Speaker 3: and signaling that your body has elegantly designed to work help.
- 20:49Speaker 3: And then then I went to pharmacology next, and you
- 20:53Speaker 3: learn to block all those messages. And so for me,
- 20:57Speaker 3: the real fallacy of conventional medicine is we're being trained
- 21:01Speaker 3: and we're being paid to shoot the messager. It's like,
- 21:04Speaker 3: instead of asking a question, well, what does my body,
- 21:07Speaker 3: what's the message my body is telling me, and it
- 21:12Speaker 3: could be a reflection of a Chinese medicine five element
- 21:17Speaker 3: imbalance or a chakra imbalance, or some other what I
- 21:21Speaker 3: call somatic metaphor. And that was your body is expressing
- 21:25Speaker 3: itself in a way to get your attention, and if
- 21:28Speaker 3: you attempt to suppress it, you may just create more problems.
- 21:32Speaker 2: That's very true, you know. I hope, I hope all
- 21:35Speaker 2: of your folks out there can appreciate, you know, your
- 21:37Speaker 2: body is such a finely tuned organism of life. Like
- 21:41Speaker 2: doctor Larry said, there's a lot of safety gaps and
- 21:44Speaker 2: closed loop circuitry that is going to help, much like
- 21:48Speaker 2: some of you can really relate to a high performance
- 21:50Speaker 2: car or a computer or whatever it is, because so
- 21:54Speaker 2: many people are so good with technology, and technology is great,
- 21:57Speaker 2: but we've also learned, you know, our bodies are also
- 22:00Speaker 2: such a fine piece of cellular being that there are
- 22:04Speaker 2: safeguards in place. And that's where I always will tell patients,
- 22:07Speaker 2: you know, side effects, symptoms, the things you feel are
- 22:11Speaker 2: definitely like a big red alert going, hey, something's not
- 22:14Speaker 2: right here. It could be a gut feeling, it could
- 22:16Speaker 2: be a pain. Pain doesn't mean oh I just need
- 22:19Speaker 2: to put some motrin on top of it. I mean,
- 22:21Speaker 2: I get it will relieve some pain. The pain is
- 22:23Speaker 2: an indication and perhaps something's going on.
- 22:26Speaker 3: I'm laughing because another metaphor comes to mind from one
- 22:29Speaker 3: of my favorite accupunti of teachers, doctor Michael Greenwood. Yeah,
- 22:33Speaker 3: he says, the computer metaphor works well for you, ft,
- 22:36Speaker 3: but this is more of a general one. You mentioned
- 22:39Speaker 3: the high performance car. So you're driving the Randow sports
- 22:42Speaker 3: car off the lot. You zip around for a few miles,
- 22:45Speaker 3: and all of a sudden, the red oil light comes on.
- 22:48Speaker 3: You are, oh, that's not what I wanted to see.
- 22:52Speaker 3: So you pull the car over. Look it up in
- 22:54Speaker 3: the owner's manual and it says, do not drive this
- 22:58Speaker 3: car another mile. You might your engine on oil leak,
- 23:03Speaker 3: or or it might be a you know, electrical glitch
- 23:06Speaker 3: in the system, which is usually what it is. So
- 23:08Speaker 3: you take your your car, have it towed to the shop.
- 23:11Speaker 3: The mechanics, I know this model, and I know the
- 23:15Speaker 3: whole electrical system. I can figure out what's going on.
- 23:18Speaker 3: He takes it in the back and he cuts the
- 23:21Speaker 3: wire that goes to the red light and gives it back,
- 23:23Speaker 3: charges you a ft fee and we all laugh and
- 23:27Speaker 3: think that sounds like malpractice, but that's what we do
- 23:31Speaker 3: every day in Western medicine. Just got the wire that
- 23:34Speaker 3: light and don't put a little more oil in or
- 23:38Speaker 3: look for the leak or and it's just not.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a great example, you know, and to take
- 23:45Speaker 2: that exactly down the road, you know, I will have
- 23:48Speaker 2: folks that I will, you know, in psychiatry, I don't
- 23:50Speaker 2: just I do integrate with psychiatry. I'm actually finishing a
- 23:53Speaker 2: certification with like functional psychiatry, working with STEP so I
- 23:58Speaker 2: really try to put the whole balance of the body
- 24:00Speaker 2: before I throw a pill at something. And I'm often
- 24:03Speaker 2: given recommendations because there's a great psychiatrist. Hopefully I'll get
- 24:06Speaker 2: him on here one day, but Jeffrey Greenblatt out of
- 24:10Speaker 2: North Carolina and well respected, he's doing this this certification
- 24:15Speaker 2: and because I had such an interest in kind of parallels.
- 24:18Speaker 2: But you know, a lot of what I will provide
- 24:20Speaker 2: to people is let's get things in check. Let's check
- 24:23Speaker 2: that leak, let's check the oil, Let's check all these things.
- 24:25Speaker 2: And the next thing I hear as well, you know,
- 24:28Speaker 2: my primary care, my obg yn. You know, they want
- 24:31Speaker 2: me to do this, or they want me to take
- 24:33Speaker 2: this medication. One lady's got a high cholesterol. Another person
- 24:37Speaker 2: is her iron is low, so they're going to put
- 24:41Speaker 2: her on something own. My new one Parkinson's. Yeah, I've
- 24:44Speaker 2: got some of these tremors. So I'm going to the
- 24:46Speaker 2: doctor next week. They've got a really great new medication.
- 24:49Speaker 2: And to your point, you know, they didn't have these
- 24:53Speaker 2: medications years ago, and a lot of people didn't have
- 24:55Speaker 2: Parkinson's like they do now. Why can't we go back
- 24:58Speaker 2: and check the oil, check what's going on. Let's check
- 25:01Speaker 2: the circuitry. So that's what we try to bring here
- 25:04Speaker 2: to all you folks. Are ways to look and test
- 25:07Speaker 2: your plumbing before you go get a mechanic on the weekend,
- 25:10Speaker 2: on the holiday, to go get a high bill, to
- 25:13Speaker 2: be told, yeah, I got a medication for that instead
- 25:15Speaker 2: of maybe fixing it and not bandating it. So yeah,
- 25:18Speaker 2: great example. What about the We've got another slide I'd
- 25:22Speaker 2: like to show, but I really like this one on
- 25:24Speaker 2: the third chakra because it has a lot to do
- 25:27Speaker 2: with self esteem. Yeah, confidence, your mental health, your well being.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Can we talk a little bit about that, and you know,
- 25:35Speaker 2: as it relates to you know, young or old people
- 25:37Speaker 2: in general. That third chakra like some the negative stuff
- 25:41Speaker 2: it talks about if you have low energy, weakness, allergies, fatigue,
- 25:44Speaker 2: can you talk a little bit about that.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Well, at the very bottom of that slide says the
- 25:48Speaker 3: just the problems. And I think that's really where the
- 25:51Speaker 3: money is for the third chakra, because if the if
- 25:54Speaker 3: the demon emotion they're is shame. You know, emotional eating
- 25:59Speaker 3: is triggered by third chapra and balances and type two
- 26:04Speaker 3: diabetes in particular, metabolic syndromes and even eating disorders. There's
- 26:11Speaker 3: you know, often there's a conversation about lack of self
- 26:14Speaker 3: esteem versus shame. And also it's just a very simple
- 26:20Speaker 3: dialogue I'm not enough or I am enough, I'm good
- 26:24Speaker 3: enough for I'm not good enough, and that those programming
- 26:29Speaker 3: phrases go back to talvent experiences in a lot of cases.
- 26:32Speaker 3: And and also when you think about just the metaphor
- 26:35Speaker 3: for type two diabetes, what's going on, Well, your blood
- 26:39Speaker 3: is getting sweet, right, you got too much sugar in
- 26:43Speaker 3: your blood. For me, the metaphor is always, let's find
- 26:46Speaker 3: a way to make your life sweeter so you don't
- 26:48Speaker 3: have to make your blood.
- 26:50Speaker 2: So that's a good one.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Yeah, practical, you know.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Yeah, So we're not craving or developing those habits to
- 26:59Speaker 2: eat because of low self esteem or sadness or anything
- 27:04Speaker 2: related to just I guess low self work.
- 27:07Speaker 3: And now we've got a pill for that. So all
- 27:09Speaker 3: the g l P one you zempic and I always
- 27:14Speaker 3: tell people, Uh, you can get deal with those issues
- 27:18Speaker 3: through e f T through intermittent fasting is a really
- 27:23Speaker 3: good way to address this. And you know, just skip
- 27:25Speaker 3: start skipping breakfast and uh and eating. I'm on a
- 27:30Speaker 3: carnivore fermented diet right now, so you just need animal
- 27:33Speaker 3: products and any for many product I like it. Doctor
- 27:38Speaker 3: Sean Omris lifestyle program and and it's uh his book
- 27:42Speaker 3: is called Growing Better Not Older. And we've been from
- 27:47Speaker 3: my wifriend have been fermenting for the last three months.
- 27:50Speaker 3: H Anything can be fermented. I mean, we started with sauerkraut,
- 27:54Speaker 3: but then we want to and you and making our
- 27:57Speaker 3: own yogurt. But now we're doing fermented yellow beets, fermented
- 28:02Speaker 3: butternut squash, fermented asparagus, carrots, you name it. We for
- 28:08Speaker 3: men and now and we're maybe moving in the fruit
- 28:10Speaker 3: work from We've had a huge harvest of for simmons
- 28:12Speaker 3: last year, so we're fermenting per simmons now. And whoa
- 28:15Speaker 3: you get? You had the salt in and you let's
- 28:17Speaker 3: sit in the jar for mason jar for a week
- 28:20Speaker 3: and back and check it and it's in the in
- 28:23Speaker 3: the dark pantry, and then the persimmons are a little salty,
- 28:27Speaker 3: a little sweet, and a little tangy all together. It's like, woh, amazing.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Oh that that's amazing. You know I kind of do
- 28:33Speaker 2: that too. I definitely gravitate to like the meat and
- 28:37Speaker 2: kombucha's sour kraut, those kinds of things. So I generally
- 28:41Speaker 2: try to eat a little bit that way, although my
- 28:43Speaker 2: closest to me will tell you there's nothing like a
- 28:46Speaker 2: good mac and cheese. I usually get that about once
- 28:49Speaker 2: a week. But you're right, you know that type of
- 28:52Speaker 2: diet can boost a lot of benefits. And I find
- 28:56Speaker 2: what do you think do you find that like cravings
- 28:59Speaker 2: of food changes when you finally find that right meal,
- 29:03Speaker 2: this sort of protein lead I just don't find I
- 29:07Speaker 2: have a desire of craving for anything anymore.
- 29:09Speaker 3: More fat and protein you eat, the less sugar you
- 29:12Speaker 3: crave because you're actually getting more effective fuel to your system,
- 29:17Speaker 3: whereas the sugar is just going instance, is going to
- 29:19Speaker 3: bounce up and down, whereas the fat sustains you. And
- 29:24Speaker 3: and you know, obviously you want to eat high quality meats,
- 29:26Speaker 3: grass fed, pasture, pasture, raise. No. I just saw a
- 29:30Speaker 3: great egg score card from the institute. You just google
- 29:36Speaker 3: Corner Cooky Institute Egg score card. Okay, it ranks. First
- 29:40Speaker 3: of all, it says you should eat organic eggs whenever possible,
- 29:43Speaker 3: because just the label organic puts your your level of
- 29:47Speaker 3: hair of the chickens in a higher category. But then
- 29:50Speaker 3: within the organic score card there are five levels of eggs,
- 29:55Speaker 3: so it's one egg versus five eggs as to the
- 29:57Speaker 3: quality of the chickens life. And and it turns out
- 30:01Speaker 3: that I learned something about So what does free range mean?
- 30:07Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's good. I understood to be free range
- 30:11Speaker 2: that it's just like digested off of the ranch the farm.
- 30:15Speaker 2: They're allowed to walk around.
- 30:16Speaker 3: And just free range means they open the door to
- 30:19Speaker 3: your cage. That is it?
- 30:20Speaker 2: Oh really okay? So they could be in the cage
- 30:23Speaker 2: or out cage.
- 30:24Speaker 3: And it doesn't have anything to do with going outside
- 30:26Speaker 3: or it has to be pasture raised. If to get
- 30:30Speaker 3: outside into the fresh air free range.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Is just the door is open. That's it does not doh.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Nothing pretty much. And so so the levels of eggs,
- 30:42Speaker 3: you can go up and find a four egg rating.
- 30:45Speaker 3: And then everyone always raves about the color of their yolk,
- 30:49Speaker 3: and you know the orange are the better. And it
- 30:51Speaker 3: turns out if you just put merry gold in the feed,
- 30:55Speaker 3: it'll turn your yolks the orange.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Wow. Have you noticed maybe it's just me, eggs taste
- 31:02Speaker 2: different lately. I just find the last year and a
- 31:05Speaker 2: half two years, the eggs just don't taste the same.
- 31:07Speaker 3: Well, maybe you're not eating high enough on the score card.
- 31:11Speaker 2: They got to find a scorecard. Yeah, find where they are.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Either the local farmer whose chickens are out running around
- 31:17Speaker 3: eating bugs, or you go to one of the brands,
- 31:20Speaker 3: and one of the most popular ones right now Whole
- 31:23Speaker 3: Foods is the Vital Farms organic eggs, and they get
- 31:26Speaker 3: four egg ratings.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Oh for it. Right now, I think it's important to
- 31:30Speaker 2: find a good egg. It's just it's it's hard to
- 31:32Speaker 2: come by. So what do you think about that? In
- 31:35Speaker 2: terms of chakra health, nutrition definitely plays a role because
- 31:39Speaker 2: it allows you to just again you're nurturing the body.
- 31:42Speaker 2: What other things can folks do for chakra health that
- 31:46Speaker 2: you know when they come to your class and learn
- 31:48Speaker 2: about stuff, But what can they do for chakra health generally?
- 31:51Speaker 3: Well, when you think about you know, the different chakras. Obviously,
- 31:54Speaker 3: the solar plexus, like the third chakra is where your
- 31:57Speaker 3: fuel is being burned, you know, So that's all the
- 32:01Speaker 3: stuff we just talked about was important. But then the
- 32:04Speaker 3: first chakra, you want to do things that really ground you,
- 32:06Speaker 3: you know, chee gong tai chi, you know, the connected
- 32:10Speaker 3: to you know, just grounding practices and just rounding, okay.
- 32:14Speaker 3: And then second chakra, you really want to free up
- 32:19Speaker 3: your movement.
- 32:20Speaker 2: You know.
- 32:21Speaker 3: You know, people with back pain are stuck in that
- 32:23Speaker 3: rigid model of suppressed rage, and so they really need
- 32:27Speaker 3: to get it moving. Yoga is great for that, you know.
- 32:30Speaker 3: And then fourth chakra, anything you can do to open
- 32:33Speaker 3: your heart. That's pretty obvious. And then this chakra you
- 32:36Speaker 3: can do things to stimulate the vegas nerve. You can gargle,
- 32:41Speaker 3: you can hum, you can sing, you can chant. Those
- 32:44Speaker 3: are all great for opening up the vegas nerve. And
- 32:47Speaker 3: then obviously six and seven chakra, meditation, visualization the way
- 32:53Speaker 3: to go there.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Okay, so it really is all about the elements of
- 32:57Speaker 2: like mind, body, sleep active. I talk to folks a
- 33:01Speaker 2: lot about the grounding, and I talk to them a
- 33:04Speaker 2: lot about the vagus nerve because people that are so
- 33:08Speaker 2: you know, they're stressed, they've got repressed trauma, anxiety, all
- 33:11Speaker 2: those things. When you get it's that fight or flight feeling.
- 33:13Speaker 2: So anything to do to release that vegus nerve. And yeah,
- 33:17Speaker 2: doctor Larry's right. You know, humming, singing if you're good,
- 33:20Speaker 2: singing the shower or in your car, but just humming
- 33:23Speaker 2: or even gargling it does. It stimulates that vagus nerve.
- 33:26Speaker 2: That's super important. And grounding. I think people tend to
- 33:29Speaker 2: put a little too much thought like, well, I just
- 33:31Speaker 2: find have time today. It doesn't take that long, you know.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Either you change your environment and go outside and let
- 33:38Speaker 2: your senses, all your five senses smell here, feel, touch,
- 33:42Speaker 2: you know those kinds of things and see just for
- 33:45Speaker 2: a couple of minutes. You know, it's a change. So
- 33:47Speaker 2: if you're at work, you know, go ground yourself, go
- 33:50Speaker 2: outside and just you know, find a nice area to
- 33:53Speaker 2: just be. And that's also meditation and give yourself some
- 33:55Speaker 2: positive thoughts gratitude, what are the things you're grateful for?
- 33:59Speaker 2: And then I all to talk to them about. You know, journaling.
- 34:01Speaker 2: People often will ask me, I just don't know what
- 34:04Speaker 2: to write, or you know, I just don't have time.
- 34:06Speaker 2: It's just so important. Like you were just talking about intentions,
- 34:09Speaker 2: intentional work. Write down some things that are on your
- 34:12Speaker 2: mind that your brain is just kind of stuck on.
- 34:14Speaker 2: You know, it could be all I got to bill
- 34:15Speaker 2: to pay this week. Oh I have an added expense.
- 34:17Speaker 2: I wasn't planning on what am I going to do
- 34:19Speaker 2: about this? Oh I'm fighting with my sister. Oh, you
- 34:22Speaker 2: know the worries. And then write down as your closing thoughts,
- 34:26Speaker 2: I have a wonderful home, I live close to my job. Oh,
- 34:30Speaker 2: I get to work from home. I've got three great kids.
- 34:33Speaker 2: I've got a wonderful husband. We're going to go out tonight.
- 34:36Speaker 2: And like that really can ground you and it sets
- 34:39Speaker 2: your intentions. So I always like to recommend those.
- 34:42Speaker 3: We draw the distinction between journaling, which I use for
- 34:46Speaker 3: a dream work in particular, Yeah, keep a record of
- 34:49Speaker 3: your dreams and how you work with them, but for
- 34:53Speaker 3: expressive writing, it's a different approach, and that I just
- 34:57Speaker 3: have people write for five minutes on one side of a.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Page, and what did they write about?
- 35:02Speaker 3: Anything bothering them, you know, any emotion that's to the service.
- 35:07Speaker 3: You want to get it out of your body onto
- 35:09Speaker 3: the page. And then what I'll have people do is
- 35:13Speaker 3: read through what they've written pap while they're reading it,
- 35:17Speaker 3: so it gives them an extra tapping session, just reading
- 35:21Speaker 3: along and tapping. And then when they're done with that,
- 35:24Speaker 3: then to really get out of your body, you should
- 35:26Speaker 3: destroy that paper. It's not it's not a journal. I'm
- 35:29Speaker 3: not keeping it. So you paper shudder. You can see
- 35:32Speaker 3: Yoda sitting on my paper shrudder here where you can
- 35:37Speaker 3: burn it, Particularly if you're dealing with someone who's deceased
- 35:41Speaker 3: and you have unresolved issues with them, you can write
- 35:43Speaker 3: them a letter and then burn it and it's like
- 35:45Speaker 3: the smoke will take it up to heaven in a
- 35:47Speaker 3: symbolic way.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Oh that's very cool.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Yeah, especially writing. You know, I didn't know until I
- 35:52Speaker 3: took a course of Duke ten years ago that there
- 35:54Speaker 3: are literally dozens of scientific research papers showing if you
- 35:58Speaker 3: just write that stuff down to get rid of it,
- 36:01Speaker 3: of emotional language, your physical health will improve.
- 36:05Speaker 2: That's very that's very true. I've seen some work where
- 36:10Speaker 2: people have written some things down and they've done just that.
- 36:12Speaker 2: They've either crumbled it and thrown it or they've burned it,
- 36:15Speaker 2: and that's a whole other aspect to really help to
- 36:18Speaker 2: release some of those deep down kind of feelings. I
- 36:23Speaker 2: know we're talking about chakras, but it might be interesting
- 36:26Speaker 2: any thoughts with chakras and dreams, maybe an unresolved chakra
- 36:30Speaker 2: or how dreams may play into understanding chakras, because.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Some patterns in my clients with chakra related imbalances and
- 36:40Speaker 3: their dreams. The first one that was really interesting for
- 36:44Speaker 3: me was a lady who had autommune disease and she
- 36:48Speaker 3: was having these vivid self defense dreams, which perfect metaphor
- 36:52Speaker 3: for immune system. She was battling some big guy, killed them,
- 36:57Speaker 3: then buried them, and then the next he came back
- 37:00Speaker 3: and dug them up, you know, and uh and and
- 37:04Speaker 3: so the whole thing was a metaphor for the self
- 37:07Speaker 3: defense activities that she was engaged in with their immune sis.
- 37:10Speaker 3: And then and then second chakras pretty obvious if you
- 37:13Speaker 3: have anger dreams about anything, you know, it's speaking to
- 37:16Speaker 3: your second chakra balances, then third chakras. I've had people, uh,
- 37:21Speaker 3: my dreams are gonna Save your life book. I had
- 37:23Speaker 3: this one woman who offered her story to put in
- 37:26Speaker 3: the book, which was she for a whole year, she
- 37:29Speaker 3: had this series of sticky, sweet, syrupy dreams, one after
- 37:34Speaker 3: the other, uh, junk food. And it turned out at
- 37:37Speaker 3: the end of the year she was diagnosed with diabetes
- 37:40Speaker 3: and she didn't know it while she was having all
- 37:42Speaker 3: these dreams. So that's a red flag for your third chakra,
- 37:46Speaker 3: and then then the then the grief and the fourth chakra.
- 37:49Speaker 3: What you're really looking for after death communication dreams. You know,
- 37:53Speaker 3: when someone's died and they come back to you in
- 37:55Speaker 3: a form of this like a visitation, especially if they're
- 38:00Speaker 3: younger than when they died, like they're in the prime
- 38:02Speaker 3: of life. That's a real class visitation dream. A friend
- 38:05Speaker 3: of mine got got an article published in a psychiatric
- 38:09Speaker 3: journal on after death communications. But you know how he
- 38:12Speaker 3: did it. Yeah, we read hallucinations.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Over that's very clever. They would buy into that. The
- 38:21Speaker 2: medical model would buy into that. That's fascinating. So when
- 38:24Speaker 2: we when we have dreams with the person that has
- 38:28Speaker 2: passed and they're younger. Is it possible there's a communication
- 38:32Speaker 2: with us or is that more of the brain resolving grief.
- 38:34Speaker 3: That's I call those visitation dreams, and they're often they
- 38:38Speaker 3: often give you very specific information that you need, and
- 38:42Speaker 3: they're also really good at resolving grief. If you have
- 38:45Speaker 3: a dream like that and and it's reinforced by your
- 38:48Speaker 3: coach or your therapist as wow, that was like a
- 38:51Speaker 3: after the communication, it really and then you know your
- 38:55Speaker 3: loved one is getting in touch with you, let you
- 38:57Speaker 3: know everything's fine. But that can just reason all the
- 39:00Speaker 3: grief all months.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I often tend to believe when people
- 39:05Speaker 2: share those types of dreams that there's definitely something something
- 39:08Speaker 2: going on there that you know, although the loved one
- 39:11Speaker 2: has passed on, they're trying to tell the person here
- 39:13Speaker 2: on earth, hey, you know, I'm okay. You're going to
- 39:16Speaker 2: be okay too. You got to keep going, you know,
- 39:18Speaker 2: just to kind of get them to settle some of
- 39:19Speaker 2: the pain.
- 39:20Speaker 3: And you know, I don't practice EMDR, which is only
- 39:24Speaker 3: done by psychotherapists, but there is a book called Induced
- 39:27Speaker 3: After Death Communication by Alan Bodkin, where he was a
- 39:32Speaker 3: psychotherapist working with m d R and you know, resolving
- 39:36Speaker 3: some PTSD. But he had one patient to just really
- 39:40Speaker 3: stuck on some overwhelming grief and he took the m
- 39:44Speaker 3: d R one step for the you know, eye movement
- 39:46Speaker 3: desensitization reprocessing, and he said, okay, we've gone as far
- 39:51Speaker 3: as we usually go. Now go one step further if
- 39:53Speaker 3: your buddy was actually here, and then you do the
- 39:56Speaker 3: eye moments back and forth, and sure enough, the buddy
- 39:59Speaker 3: appears in my three D as a visual hallucination and
- 40:04Speaker 3: the guy's grief is gone after that one episode. And
- 40:08Speaker 3: then Alan said he walked into the next room, did
- 40:11Speaker 3: the same thing. When the next guy, same thing happened.
- 40:12Speaker 3: He goes, WHOA, something's going on here. So he actually
- 40:15Speaker 3: had one of his colleagues do it on him, and
- 40:17Speaker 3: he had said about three courters of the time, you
- 40:20Speaker 3: have an induced after death communication, and he actually set
- 40:24Speaker 3: up an organization gets certified and induced by ADC's, but
- 40:29Speaker 3: only only mental health professionals. And then but I've done
- 40:33Speaker 3: a tea as well. You kind of you have people
- 40:36Speaker 3: tapping on grief medical Vietnam, and then at the end
- 40:39Speaker 3: of the tapping session you say, okay, if the guys,
- 40:42Speaker 3: we're here, now, what would happen? And boom they all
- 40:44Speaker 3: show up And that's very it's very cool when that happened.
- 40:48Speaker 2: That is amazing. I think that would be very helpful
- 40:51Speaker 2: for a lot of folks that, you know, they just
- 40:53Speaker 2: need to quiet their mind, they need some answers, they
- 40:56Speaker 2: need to just put it to peace, you know. So
- 40:59Speaker 2: I love that.
- 41:00Speaker 3: And then dreams of the fifth chakra. I haven't had
- 41:03Speaker 3: that many of those, but I did have one client
- 41:04Speaker 3: who was had all kinds of fifth chakra trauma. Yeah,
- 41:08Speaker 3: dreamed one night of an energy worker in a blue
- 41:12Speaker 3: suit showing up to work with her, and it's like
- 41:15Speaker 3: blue is.
- 41:16Speaker 2: The color the color?
- 41:17Speaker 3: Yeah, oh wow, there's a perfect fit. And then obviously
- 41:22Speaker 3: the higher you get up in the chakras, the more
- 41:25Speaker 3: and more dreams coming to play, because you may have
- 41:28Speaker 3: pre cognitive dreams in the sixth chakra, you may have
- 41:31Speaker 3: really spiritual dreams in the seventh chakra, and all those
- 41:35Speaker 3: things are import to work with.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's important. What about sleep? What are your
- 41:40Speaker 2: thoughts on sleep in terms of just people getting enough
- 41:43Speaker 2: sleep and good sleep hygiene.
- 41:45Speaker 3: It's it's a big issue, and you know, there are
- 41:50Speaker 3: a million different sleep aids out there. And yet yes,
- 41:54Speaker 3: as you mentioned, there's some basic sleep hygiene that people
- 41:57Speaker 3: need to pay attention to, you know, making sure your
- 42:01Speaker 3: room's dark, it's it's cooler than usual. And and big
- 42:06Speaker 3: thing is don't sleep with your cell phone turned on,
- 42:10Speaker 3: you know, if you if you need and if you
- 42:12Speaker 3: depend on your alarm clock on your cell phone, just
- 42:14Speaker 3: put it on airplane mode and your your alarm clock
- 42:17Speaker 3: will still work. And also turn off your Wi Fi
- 42:20Speaker 3: at night because you know, bombarded by the Wi Fi
- 42:24Speaker 3: signals when you're attempting to sleep. Prepare and restore your system.
- 42:30Speaker 3: And finally, my my favorites. I've been through all kinds
- 42:34Speaker 3: of different sleep supplements over the years. I happen to
- 42:37Speaker 3: have restless leg syndrome, which is a nightmare, so tortuous
- 42:43Speaker 3: condition and sob experiment with everything. I mean, the first
- 42:46Speaker 3: thing people do is take my kneesy and which helps
- 42:49Speaker 3: a little bit. But then there's all the other sleeps
- 42:53Speaker 3: like Valerian and a variety of different herbs you can take.
- 42:57Speaker 3: And their goal is to stimulate the gap aba receptors
- 43:01Speaker 3: in the brain, which inhibit your your brain function, attempt.
- 43:04Speaker 2: To get you kind of dampen you down. I like
- 43:06Speaker 2: the Gabba products. I used zens Sleep and it's got
- 43:10Speaker 2: GABA five H T P and LP yeah yeah.
- 43:15Speaker 3: And then but there's also, uh, what I've discovered in
- 43:18Speaker 3: the last year which has been game changer for me
- 43:21Speaker 3: is using sub mucosal progesterone. I never thought I'd take
- 43:25Speaker 3: a female hormone, but it has. If you take a
- 43:28Speaker 3: really low dose of it, it is and you put
- 43:31Speaker 3: in your gums, it goes directly your brain and turns
- 43:34Speaker 3: the GABA on. And I find that works just every night.
- 43:39Speaker 3: I figure out how many drops do I need? Five
- 43:41Speaker 3: or six or seven? You know, and yeah, tween drops
- 43:44Speaker 3: would be little hunger in the morning. But it's not addictive,
- 43:47Speaker 3: and if you don't take enough, you might not make sleep.
- 43:49Speaker 3: So and there's a product called simply progesterone you can
- 43:53Speaker 3: get online, not a prescription, and it comes out one
- 43:57Speaker 3: out all of it lasts for months. It might cost
- 44:00Speaker 3: sixty bucks, simply redistrum from things called Natura health or
- 44:04Speaker 3: health Nature. And it's really a great product. And so
- 44:09Speaker 3: I also figured, well, taking a femal horn, what does
- 44:12Speaker 3: it do to the prostates? I google, I did perplexity
- 44:15Speaker 3: AI what does PRODUCTE do to the process. It turns
- 44:18Speaker 3: out it can reverse benign prostatic hypertrophy, which is great news.
- 44:26Speaker 3: It can prevent early prostate cancer. So I thought, man,
- 44:28Speaker 3: there's no downside to take a mess.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I was going to say, there is no doubtside.
- 44:33Speaker 2: That is a great tip. I hope you guys picked
- 44:35Speaker 2: that one up. So low dose, non prescription pester room.
- 44:38Speaker 3: And then some people get good luck with homeopathic remedies.
- 44:42Speaker 3: The one that's the most paradoxical is you take coffee.
- 44:45Speaker 3: You know, obviously you don't want to drink coffee when
- 44:47Speaker 3: you're going to sleep, but if you take Gothic remedy
- 44:50Speaker 3: of coffee, it has the opposite effect.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Okay, that's that's another room tip. Shoot. Yeah, I was
- 44:58Speaker 2: thinking about sleep and I was going to ask you something,
- 45:00Speaker 2: but yeah, I mean I get that a lot of
- 45:02Speaker 2: times from people, and they're on such high doses as
- 45:05Speaker 2: some of these medications that are you.
- 45:07Speaker 3: Know, they're ambient and things like that.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Maybe in restaural you vivic.
- 45:15Speaker 3: With like sleep walking and sleeping. There are things and
- 45:20Speaker 3: some of the restless legs drugs cause compulsive gambling, like
- 45:24Speaker 3: oh my god, when you mess with your dopamines in trouble.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, there's so many that's the things. There's so
- 45:30Speaker 2: many side effects, not benefits. It's so much better if
- 45:33Speaker 2: we can kind of whittle it down to just a
- 45:35Speaker 2: really good holistic approach and and to be able to
- 45:38Speaker 2: be in tune with your body to listen and find
- 45:40Speaker 2: the things when things aren't right, you know how to
- 45:43Speaker 2: how to get in there and filter it out and
- 45:45Speaker 2: do some of your own repair work.
- 45:47Speaker 3: And sometimes I'll do tapping at night and you can
- 45:50Speaker 3: tap on my mind is racing. I'll never get to sleep,
- 45:54Speaker 3: I'll be wasted the next day, and that will help
- 45:57Speaker 3: help you to fall off. Yeah, then you wind up
- 46:00Speaker 3: tapping on I'm just getting sleepy, I'm yawning and that
- 46:04Speaker 3: and sometimes where it doesn't help my restless legs, but
- 46:07Speaker 3: it does help just basic inslomnia and get What does
- 46:11Speaker 3: help my rest legs is meditation. If I get into
- 46:14Speaker 3: a deep meditative state, the restless legs will go to sleep.
- 46:17Speaker 2: So yeah, everything will hope he relaxed. So let's tell
- 46:20Speaker 2: everybody in case they tuned in later. You've got this
- 46:23Speaker 2: webinar coming up a Chakra Works shop on the twenty first.
- 46:27Speaker 2: The day of the start of the summer solstice, right, yeah,
- 46:29Speaker 2: the day after, but the day after, okay, and how
- 46:33Speaker 2: do they tune into it? And what do you what
- 46:35Speaker 2: things are you going to go over in seven hours Larrybird.
- 46:37Speaker 3: Dot com and it's Ormagic Happen dot com. It's right there.
- 46:41Speaker 3: You can register and we're going to basically cover all
- 46:45Speaker 3: seven chakras and tell stories from my coaching clients. And
- 46:51Speaker 3: also I refer a lot to mon Lisa Schultz are
- 46:55Speaker 3: Awakening Intuition, want to talented medical intuitive and psychiatrist n
- 47:00Speaker 3: fortunately died a couple of years ago, and then Carolyn
- 47:03Speaker 3: Mace the Anatomy of the Spirit and the Adjudath Eastern Body,
- 47:07Speaker 3: Western Mind, and those are my three go to references.
- 47:12Speaker 3: And yeah, so we'll work our way through the chakras
- 47:16Speaker 3: and it'll be interactive. People can ask questions or do
- 47:20Speaker 3: the tapping and then get some feedback and it'll be recorded.
- 47:23Speaker 3: So if you only be there for half a day,
- 47:25Speaker 3: you can watch the rest on Sunday, or if you
- 47:28Speaker 3: missed the whole day, you can watch the whole thing later.
- 47:31Speaker 2: So later act to do it. No, that sounds fantastic,
- 47:33Speaker 2: but I want to thank you again for joining us.
- 47:35Speaker 2: I know a lot of our listeners have asked about
- 47:37Speaker 2: having you back on, so we'll definitely get you back
- 47:39Speaker 2: on again as well, maybe to do some more dream
- 47:41Speaker 2: work or something else that we decided to want to
- 47:44Speaker 2: share with folks. But again, so thanks so much, and
- 47:47Speaker 2: I'm hoping to try to tune in if i can
- 47:49Speaker 2: be available that day. I wanted to just also add
- 47:52Speaker 2: to everybody, you know, because of the nature of what
- 47:54Speaker 2: we do here every now and then I get the
- 47:56Speaker 2: blessing of having people on who have weather the storm,
- 48:00Speaker 2: through the pandemic. I'm going to have a guest on
- 48:02Speaker 2: next week and she shares the story of her sister
- 48:05Speaker 2: and what she went through in the hospital working to
- 48:07Speaker 2: try to help her in those darker years. And why
- 48:11Speaker 2: these stories are so important is because we still find
- 48:13Speaker 2: people who don't realize so much happened that shouldn't have
- 48:17Speaker 2: that didn't have to happen, And we want to raise
- 48:19Speaker 2: awareness so that we go at things now, you know, stronger, smarter,
- 48:23Speaker 2: asking questions, and like doctor Larry and I do, we're
- 48:26Speaker 2: giving you ways to help your body so you can
- 48:29Speaker 2: be your best self, your strongest self, and maybe not
- 48:32Speaker 2: have to rely on other folks to necessarily treat and
- 48:36Speaker 2: heal without some side effects. Let's get you build up strong, resilient.
- 48:40Speaker 2: So tune in next Thursday at three pm. And if
- 48:42Speaker 2: you just tuned in late you want to catch our show.
- 48:45Speaker 2: We are on iHeartRadio. Just take a look for Wellness
- 48:48Speaker 2: and Censored with Patty g. But again, thanks Doctor Larry.
- 48:52Speaker 2: Any last word.
- 48:53Speaker 3: I just love the uncensored title. I was coming home
- 48:58Speaker 3: from dinner and who drives through the parking lot but
- 49:02Speaker 3: Rob Califf, former colleague of mine, who was the FDA
- 49:06Speaker 3: commissioner during COVID. Here's the one that put out the
- 49:09Speaker 3: horse paste. I've re met and you know, propaganda, and
- 49:13Speaker 3: I'm thinking like, oh man, what would I actually say
- 49:16Speaker 3: to him? A fire ran into him and it's like,
- 49:18Speaker 3: oh god.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I'm telling you.
- 49:21Speaker 3: So.
- 49:21Speaker 2: Yes, we've always got something uncensored and inspirational and probably
- 49:26Speaker 2: a good dinner topic of discussion. So great to have
- 49:30Speaker 2: you on. Thanks everybody. We hope you all have a
- 49:32Speaker 2: wonderful night, a great weekend, Stay well, stay healthy, tune
- 49:36Speaker 2: into your inner self and catch doctor Larry on his
- 49:39Speaker 2: next Chakra series that you'll see on March twenty first.
