- 1:22his his fam. Thank you very much.
- 1:25And thank you to Howie Carpin for joining us at the last
- 1:28minutes. He really saved us tonight.
- 1:29So thank you to Howie. I'm sure he he got a kick out of
- 1:32it. So thank you to him.
- 1:34And now we call this Speedy's 6 Pack of the Week.
- 1:39Let's have a sixer. Hey, who wants to play Drink the
- 1:42Beer? It's time for the Speedy 6 pack
- 1:45of the week. Speedy, could you burp like on
- 1:50Cool? No, my, my brother Aiden can
- 1:52though. It's he actually, he actually
- 1:54had a stretch where he could burp his ABC.
- 1:56'S Let me see. That's good.
- 1:59You got it. You got it.
- 2:00That I can't come out. I mean.
- 2:01Q could you do it? No.
- 2:03QK Yeah, I figured. OK.
- 2:05So we'll start with. I figured maybe you could fart
- 2:08on Qi could do that too, by the way, I'm very good at that.
- 2:11Yes, you can, but I don't want to.
- 2:12I don't want to put the mic close to my, you know, my dear
- 2:15ear, you know. Please don't.
- 2:17Please save this. I'll save you, I'll save you.
- 2:21I do like to fart in Speedy's face a lot Speedy, do I not?
- 2:24You do. I do.
- 2:25I do it everywhere. I'm very good at it.
- 2:27I, I I. I'm surprised you're taking that
- 2:29much of A tap. Could you imagine?
- 2:30Could you imagine? I could do my ABC's in a fart?
- 2:33I mean that would. Be That would be insane.
- 2:34I mean, that would be like I'd be the.
- 2:36Best. I'd be the first to.
- 2:38Do. Disgusting.
- 2:40What would be the adjective to you?
- 2:41What? Listen now ABC's What goes in
- 2:45must come out What? It goes in, must come out, but I
- 2:48mean, it does. It comes.
- 2:50Out. It comes out in in a loud and
- 2:53smaller sounds. All right, Speedy, let's go.
- 2:55All right, so we'll start with the deal that Howie Carpet was
- 2:57talking about. The Pirates giving Connor
- 2:59Griffin the the top prospect in baseball at the start of the
- 3:02year, 9 years, $140 million just five days after making.
- 3:05An MLB debut. On on on Friday last week.
- 3:08Hit 950 OPS, 3362421 homers, 68 steals and 95 RBIs last year in
- 3:14the minor leagues and got off to a hot start in a small sample so
- 3:17far with the Pirates. Are the Pirates finally paying
- 3:19people or are they still the Pirates?
- 3:20They're still the Pirates and the Pirates are playing good
- 3:22baseball right now. I think they're 7:00 and 5:00.
- 3:25But again, the Pirates always start off strong and then they
- 3:28fall apart and I expect them to move players at the trade
- 3:31downline. This is very pirate like.
- 3:33Am I surprised? Am I?
- 3:35Am I going to bet that the Pirates are going to spend money
- 3:37on their players? Not a chance to help, but Pull
- 3:40Schemes will be out of here before you know it.
- 3:42He wants to be a Yankee, but there'll be other teams lining
- 3:45up for him. Somebody's going to pay him a
- 3:46probably a billion dollar. I I think Pull Schemes will be
- 3:50the first billion dollar player in Major League history.
- 3:52I believe it. I believe.
- 3:54It interesting you know, I wanted to to give you a cross
- 3:57sport. I know Errol how much you love
- 3:58my cross sport comparisons, but I'm going to go out of
- 4:02out-of-the-box on this one. Remember when Marion Hosa got
- 4:06this like crazy long contract for a lot of money and then they
- 4:09changed a lot, right? And you couldn't have contracts
- 4:13like that anymore? I think just like our guest
- 4:16Howie Carpen said. Like what I was.
- 4:22Hoping he had a good job. I was.
- 4:25I was. I'm not looking at that big
- 4:26page. Open.
- 4:28They're trying to pull the hosts a move from from 1520 years ago
- 4:31where if you can get this guy on an old CBA where you can't get a
- 4:37guy this long and and this cheap and buy out his arbitration
- 4:40years, this is a coup for them. This is I'm putting you on a
- 4:43leash now. So I didn't really think about
- 4:46that till how he brought that up.
- 4:47Yeah. And then?
- 4:48Officially make her squirt. Make me jerk.
- 4:50Then the devil's trying to duplicate it with Ilya Cobalt
- 4:52Chuck giving him a 17 year deal. Squeeze the cheese.
- 4:56Speedy sleeps with endangered animals.
- 4:59No, I do not sleep with endangered animals.
- 5:02And this is like to smuggle endangered animals.
- 5:04That's why he's hiding. That's why he's hiding in prison
- 5:06right now. Blowjob job suck my indo.
- 5:12Oh, there we go. All right, moving on, I know
- 5:15Fish, you want to mention a couple of the the IL ones.
- 5:17I got two of them for two young pitchers, one of which is Hunter
- 5:20Brown for the Houston Astros, out right now with a Grade 2
- 5:23shoulder strain after a night the Astros lost fromber Valdez
- 5:26in the offseason. Have not had the same starting
- 5:28pitching luck. And again, like how I was
- 5:30saying, battling a good division with that Seattle Mariners team,
- 5:33a little bit of a slow start. Carl plays with themselves.
- 5:35Pitching in the Texas Rangers should the.
- 5:37Astros. Be concerned?
- 5:38No, they shouldn't be concerned. It's early in the season.
- 5:42They will get healthy. They've got a great farm system.
- 5:45The Astros will be just fine. They're a playoff team.
- 5:47They got a great pitching rotation.
- 5:50I'm, I'm sure Houston is going to sneak into the play.
- 5:52I think there are, to me in the American League, I think in
- 5:57their division there could be 3 teams coming out of division and
- 5:59the Rangers, Seattle and them I, I, I think that's the best
- 6:03division right now in the American League.
- 6:04You know, Q you probably had this in football where they had
- 6:07the team as a choice, pay the vet or get the OR go with the
- 6:11young guy, right? Like it so happens athletes and
- 6:15and they decided they had two guys to pick from Framber
- 6:18Valdez, who's had the wins and this kid who had a had a great
- 6:25year last year, you know, but he's young and pitchers have,
- 6:28you know, frail. They got to.
- 6:29Go back off now. They decided to let the vet go,
- 6:32he signs with Detroit, gets good money and now they might be
- 6:35without a one or two now on their pitching step.
- 6:38That could be real bad. They got the guy Imai.
- 6:41He looked good in his last start from Japan but they might have
- 6:44to go get a guy so kind of sucks for them but they're cheaters in
- 6:48Houston so cares. Yeah, they queue a queue.
- 6:51You know, like when you, when you had that in football, like
- 6:54you've, you've had to have. Been stories or.
- 6:55Something like that. What I I think it depends on the
- 6:58debt like, but if the debt is good improving and he's willing
- 7:01to kind of teach and groom the the younger guy, I think it it
- 7:05makes sense. But eventually, you know how
- 7:08teams are always going to think, they're always going to think
- 7:10young and potential over the veteran paid.
- 7:14A. Form of a old coach that makes
- 7:16it makes sense, you know, they got that style to understand how
- 7:19to get the team to to come together and whatnot.
- 7:22So this depends on the actual vet.
- 7:24There's a case by case situation versus, you know, individual
- 7:28situation. But I think in this case, yeah,
- 7:30I would have probably held onto the vet for at least another
- 7:33year or so. And then?
- 7:34Make a a move like that. So following up a Java job,
- 7:38several Java jobs here we'll go to another more serious injury.
- 7:42The for a season ending injury for the Java was very high on
- 7:45National League rookie of the year runner up and that was Kate
- 7:47Horton with the Cubs season ending elbow surgery for him UCL
- 7:52and for a team that already lost another big another good young
- 7:55pitcher Justin Steele last year to a similar type of elbow
- 7:58injury and also lost Matthew Boyd to a biceps injury.
- 8:01So two young pitchers down, a veteran pitcher down for the
- 8:03Cubs, a team that we all like to the beginning of the year, kind
- 8:06of thought was the number two team behind the Dodgers in the
- 8:07National League now dealing with some pitching.
- 8:09Injuries, they're going to have to make some trades and now they
- 8:11they have to wait to chill the trade deadline.
- 8:13If they can keep stay afloat in in their division, I think
- 8:17they're going to make at least multiple trades.
- 8:19They have a great farm system. The Cubs have one of the top 10
- 8:23farm systems in baseball right now.
- 8:25So if they could just stay afloat, I think the Cubs will be
- 8:28fine. But it's definitely worrisome
- 8:30where they are right now. One of the best young pitchers
- 8:32in baseball. Everyone was super high on them
- 8:34in fantasy drafts this year. Rob Rogers, Kumba look great too
- 8:38in his first start. Terrible for them, terrible for
- 8:41them. They need him.
- 8:42They needed him to be able to be really competitive below.
- 8:46You're right. It's it's amazing.
- 8:48We haven't even gotten a month into the season and big
- 8:51contenders are down big arms that they really couldn't afford
- 8:55to lose. All right, let's go to a former
- 8:57Cub now and now with the Red Sox that's played most of his career
- 9:00in the NL. This is Wilson Contreras, who
- 9:04took shots at the Milwaukee Brewers.
- 9:07So he's been hit by a pitch by the 24th time against the
- 9:11Brewers in his career. No other player has been hit
- 9:14more than 14 times by an individual MLA team.
- 9:17Brandon Woodruff, who was also the pitcher in that game, has
- 9:19hit him six times in his career. Stop crying, please.
- 9:24How many times have we seen this before Barry Bonds has been
- 9:26thrown at? There are so many people in the
- 9:29league in the past that have been thrown at.
- 9:32Stop complaining. You're going to point your
- 9:34fingers at Milwaukee's trying to knock you out and throw the ball
- 9:37at you. Rodger Clemens.
- 9:38I would admit Rodger Clemens went after Mike Piazza.
- 9:40There's no question. He tried to throw that bat at
- 9:42him and then he said it was something, I don't remember what
- 9:45he said. I thought it was a ball or
- 9:47something. It's ridiculous.
- 9:49He definitely tried to throw at Mike Piazza, but this could the
- 9:53Contreras. That's ridiculous.
- 9:55I, I, I do not believe Milwaukee went out of the way and said,
- 9:57you know what? We're going to throw out
- 9:58Contreras. We're going to keep throwing at
- 10:00Contreras. It's ridiculous.
- 10:01It is kind of wild that one pitcher has hit him six times,
- 10:04though, you know, and he just hit a home run off of him the
- 10:09last at bat. I mean, let's face it, some guys
- 10:13get petty. He was saying no, you know, he
- 10:16wasn't. But come on now.
- 10:18Woodruff's a veteran. This.
- 10:20Fish is not a panty dropper. You know this.
- 10:23All right, Speaking of a panty dropper.
- 10:25Who sits on the sitter? Let's go to something that Rob
- 10:27Manford might have said in the strip club.
- 10:29And I love Lisa Ann. And that is he told Dan Patrick
- 10:32he wants to get the WBC into a regular rotation and saying down
- 10:35the road wants it to happen more than the World Cup in the
- 10:38Olympics, which are every four years.
- 10:39That will ruin the WBC. That would absolutely ruin the
- 10:43competition. You every three years this
- 10:46happens and and everybody can't wait for it, the United States,
- 10:49Dominican Republic, the Puerto Rico, everything.
- 10:53Now all of a sudden you want to do this every single year?
- 10:55It's an absolute debacle. And if he does that, it just
- 10:58shows you why R.E.M. Rob Manfred is one of the worst
- 11:00commissioners in professional sports.
- 11:02Yeah, it's it's. I don't have anything else to
- 11:05add. On Drobo.
- 11:06Back in my ass. Drobok.
- 11:08That might let Nathan do all of it.
- 11:12What is, what is? Nothing else is nothing have to
- 11:14say about. My rear end is burning.
- 11:15Is that is that Nathan from the from behind the window at the
- 11:18strip club with Rob? Man, Rob, I like my shrimp
- 11:21cocktail. I like anal.
- 11:23And then we'll go to the strip club to get Adel.
- 11:25All right, last one, another thing I was hinting at during
- 11:27the Howie Carpet interview, and that was the ABS challenge.
- 11:30So I wasn't 58. I was wrong.
- 11:31It was 54%. But Ken Rosenthal reports
- 11:34there's umpires already not happy with the standards.
- 11:36They're judged by 54 percent, 59% for pitchers compared to 48%
- 11:41for hitters. AJ Hinch also says he does not
- 11:44want the human element out despite already making a couple
- 11:46challenges as well himself. And then Michael Hill, the VP of
- 11:49a senior field operation mentioned.
- 11:51So umpire accuracy has gone up despite all these ABS
- 11:54controversies. I hate the ABS.
- 11:57I hate it. It hurts baseball.
- 11:58The fact that they're bringing in.
- 12:00You can challenge it. And I know we just heard Harpin
- 12:02say that. Oh, the game went two hours and
- 12:0520 minutes. It's not good for baseball that
- 12:07you can challenge a pitch. Challenge how many times you out
- 12:11are you allowed to challenge? It just doesn't make any sense.
- 12:13Twins already did it nine times in one game.
- 12:15It's not. To me, it's not good for
- 12:17baseball in the playoffs. I can understand it's an
- 12:20important game. It it could, it could matter for
- 12:23a championship win, or it can matter for you to move on into
- 12:26the playoffs. I understand that.
- 12:28But in a regular season game, this makes no sense.
- 12:31It's not. It's not good for baseball.
- 12:33I think it's bad. Errol I love it.
- 12:35Anything that. Holds the zebras.
- 12:37Accountable. Make those.
- 12:39Zebras do a good job. How many times do we stand
- 12:43around being pissed off that the referees, they blow calls and
- 12:47then it's a slap on the wrist. Now they're being humiliated.
- 12:51Squeeze the cheese. Because of how bad they're
- 12:54missing calls, and because of that they're on their game more
- 12:57than. They used to be.
- 12:57Speedy. That's it.
- 12:59That's called what is supposed to happen with a rule change.
- 13:02Like this? This is good for baseball as
- 13:05somebody who really. Shrunk by.
- 13:07With officials, as a player and a coach, if I'd if you told me I
- 13:11could just go like this and challenge it, I probably would
- 13:14have led the. League Speedy sleeps with
- 13:16endangered animals. And Nathan smuggles endangered
- 13:20animals and hides them in his circle jerk stash with all his
- 13:23leashes, and he probably Circle Jerks to them too.
- 13:26Is that it? That's it, that's it.
- 13:27That's speedy 6 pack of the week.
- 13:29It sounded like an 8 pack to me. Day one of the Masters has
- 13:34concluded with two players tied for the lead at -5 young
- 13:39American golfer Sam Burns and defending Master Masters
- 13:43champion Rory McIlroy. Other notable golfers not far
- 13:47behind at a -. 3 are American golfer Patrick Reed and veteran
- 13:53golfer Jason Day and last year's runner up Justin Rose.
- 13:58Other well known Americans like Jordan Spieth, Gary Woodland,
- 14:02Xavier Sheffly and Scotty Scheffler are at -2 notable
- 14:09golfers that are struggling, including Bubbas Watson.
- 14:11I can't stand him. I didn't like him, Jon ROM and
- 14:15Bryson. How do you pronounce Dissembo?
- 14:18All three guys were at risk of not making the cut tomorrow,
- 14:23which features the top 50 scores from the first day.
- 14:28McElroy, Scheffler and Rose are the top three betting favorites
- 14:34after today's results. Well, ladies and gentlemen, I, I
- 14:38didn't get a chance to watch much of it, but McElroy has
- 14:42proven himself to be the the champion until the champion gets
- 14:46knocked off. You would expect McElroy to be
- 14:49in this all the way to the end. This guy knows, first of all, he
- 14:52knows the Masters. He knows this course very, very
- 14:54well. Scheffler, I expect here to be
- 14:56at the end. Scheffler's the best golfer in
- 14:58the world. So I, I think and Rose is
- 15:01unbelievable, too. I think this is going to be a
- 15:02battle all the way to the end, but don't count out Xander
- 15:06Scheffley. I I'm telling you right now, I
- 15:08watched this guy golf at the US Open and Shinnecock, this kid,
- 15:13at the time when I met him, he was one of the younger American
- 15:16golfers in the tournament. He's gotten better every single
- 15:19year. This guy has been amongst the
- 15:21leading boards in almost every championship game.
- 15:24So I think this guy is as good as any golfer right now for team
- 15:29the United States, for team America.
- 15:31Jordan Spieth, you know what, this guy was up and coming.
- 15:34This guy was, you know, 3-4 years ago we were talking about
- 15:37this guy might be the face of American golf.
- 15:39He really was. He was there and he's falling
- 15:42off. He has not been the same golfer.
- 15:44This guy's putting game was one of the best in the world and and
- 15:47over the last couple of years, he's kind of falling off.
- 15:50But right now he's amongst America's best right now in in
- 15:54in the masters. I expect him to fight all the
- 15:56way to the end. I I want to see I don't want to
- 15:59see Bubba Watson. So I hope he gets knocked out.
- 16:01The fact that John ROM is he's he's in a tailspin and he might
- 16:05not even make the cut next tomorrow is to me the most you,
- 16:10I I think the most in, I wouldn't say impressive, but
- 16:13shocking, shocking situation right now in the masters.
- 16:16Yeah, he's always been steady. He's it took a while for him to
- 16:19win. I think he finally won the
- 16:20Masters in 2023. He's a great golf.
- 16:23Yeah, he's been like, he's a consistent top ten guy in a lot
- 16:25of majors. It was always just can he get
- 16:27the one? Can he get over the hump,
- 16:29finally win one? Which is the same case McElroy
- 16:30had last? Year, last year, which?
- 16:32The Masters was the only one he was around for a while.
- 16:34That was the only one he hadn't won yet.
- 16:35And Justin Rose is dealing with that same kind of thing.
- 16:37He was very close last year, went to the playoff, playoff
- 16:40with macro. I believe they were both -12
- 16:43last year until obviously macro I won the play in.
- 16:46And the other one that's surprising too that I didn't
- 16:48didn't bring up was a Swedish golfer in Ludwig Ogberg, another
- 16:51guy that was an up and coming guy.
- 16:52What a mouthful. Yes, that's why I didn't give it
- 16:54to you, because I figured you'd have trouble with that one.
- 16:56But he was. Ludwig, Ogler, Ludvig.
- 16:59Ogvig I was an up and coming 1 from 2 years ago.
- 17:01That was another one that was a heavy betting favorite.
- 17:03Could you imagine his wife was trying to pronounce his name
- 17:06Ludvig Lovelock? Yes, he's at plus one, I believe
- 17:09right now and there's been a couple other veterans that are
- 17:11in that mix too. Yeah, like you said, shuffly is.
- 17:13Very. I want you for breakfast, lunch
- 17:15and dinner. Since you since I edited that
- 17:17interview when you interview at the US Open when they were
- 17:19played at 10:00 in 2018, I've rooted for him and followed him
- 17:22as well. Obviously shuffler another one
- 17:23you can't rule out. Obviously the distractions with
- 17:25the driving incidents got to him last year, but I was still able
- 17:28to I believe win one of the other tournaments down the road
- 17:31and Willie win the Masters again.
- 17:33We'll see. He's always going to be in the
- 17:34running, but it'll be interesting to see if McElroy
- 17:36how that pressure will get overcome with it.
- 17:38He's already good on day one. We'll be able to carry over the
- 17:40next year because back to back's hard to.
- 17:42Do Xander Shefflee's swing is one of the most beautiful things
- 17:46to watch on a golf course. It is beautiful and and the guy
- 17:50doesn't he's not a big guy. He's very small.
- 17:53He when I was standing right next to him, he's got to be
- 17:55about 5758, but he's got a tremendous swing.
- 17:58His putting game is great. His wedge game's even better.
- 18:01I I watching him play like live right in front of my face and,
- 18:06and getting a a chance to just interview him.
- 18:09I got a chance to get to know his personality.
- 18:11One of the more likable American players right now that's playing
- 18:15playing in this tournament and also going back to Scheffler.
- 18:18Scheffler is by far the best golfer in the world.
- 18:21I don't think you can argue that, but McElroy for some
- 18:24reason in the Masters he plays at, he always plays at a high
- 18:27level all the way to day four and I expect him to be amongst
- 18:33the leading board in the top five, top six, fighting to win
- 18:37his back-to-back Masters championship.
- 18:39And why couldn't he do it? McElroy, it took him a little
- 18:42while changed, changed his swing, changed his putts and,
- 18:45and he changed all different things over the last couple of
- 18:48years. It took him a couple of years to
- 18:49really get to play at a high level.
- 18:51But now he's in his 30s and he's really developing his skill and
- 18:55I I think he's playing at such a high level right now.
- 18:58He's playing at the highest level over the last 15 years of
- 19:01golf since he started. Well, not 15-12 years of golf
- 19:04since he started and it came into, you know, came into the US
- 19:08Open. Yeah, because I was going to
- 19:09mention McElroy and Spieth kind of peaked at the same time, but
- 19:12Spieth got, like you said, they had the one win and kind of been
- 19:14fluctuated where Mcelroy's kind of been steady.
- 19:15Just didn't win the whole thing, but finally overcame it last
- 19:17year. I want to, before we move on, I
- 19:18want to bring up Sam Burns too, the young kid in the United
- 19:21States too, I believe it was the British Open last year, the US,
- 19:24the Open Championship. I should say that he was
- 19:26actually one of the very steady young competitors.
- 19:28So I weren't curious on the adversity of his standpoint.
- 19:30He's 29 years old and you said an American golfer that's going
- 19:33to try to make a mark like those younger guys like Spieth.
- 19:36Did surprise so far is John Ron? Yes, that is the biggest
- 19:40surprise out of all the golfers that might not make it.
- 19:43Bubba Watson. He's an old fart and I can't
- 19:45stand the guy. What a nasty person to
- 19:48interview. Really one of the nastiest
- 19:50people I've met. A lot of athletes.
- 19:52Bubba Watson is one of the nastiest people I've ever met,
- 19:56especially if he's had a bad day on the golf course.
- 19:58You do not want to get close to that man.
- 20:00You don't want to talk to him. You don't want to speak to him.
- 20:02The only thing he wants to hang out with his dog when he's
- 20:05taking a crap on the side roads, I mean.
- 20:07It's too big. I don't know if you, I don't
- 20:09know if you interviewed Deshambo at the time, but Deshambo would
- 20:11get very heated too. So is it worse I.
- 20:13Think, yeah, I've got to say biggest surprise is probably be
- 20:16Deshambo, the way he's got stuck on that 11 hole and he got stuck
- 20:19in the bunk of the day. I mean, it was a, it was quite a
- 20:22show to see if you haven't checked it out.
- 20:24But yeah, bet on Roy. Bet on Roy, I think.
- 20:26I'm putting all my money with Scheffler.
- 20:28I think Scheffler is going to figure it out.
- 20:30This guy plays better on the second day and I think Scheffler
- 20:33is going to get back on that leaderboard.
- 20:35And again, Xander Scheffley, if you're a betting man, this guy
- 20:39is he's played at a very high level all year.
- 20:42He's been on the top of the leading board and a lot of a lot
- 20:45of the title, a lot of the tournaments.
- 20:47And I, I think he's got a chance to win this tournament this
- 20:50year. So don't be surprised if you
- 20:52hear Xander Scheffley on the leaderboard in the last day of
- 20:56golf. That's.
- 20:56All. So who?
- 20:57So you picking are you? You pick a chef.
- 20:59I'm picking Roy. What are you picking, Speedy?
- 21:02I'll go rose on the. Redemption.
- 21:03We didn't have parlays that night.
- 21:04Yeah, I'll go Rose on the redemption.
- 21:06He's got Rose, I got Scheffler and you got McElroy.
- 21:10All right, dial it up. We interrupt this regular
- 21:13scheduled hot mix to bring you important news.
- 21:16We got a big broadcast to do here.
- 21:18We're about to dial it all it up all.
- 21:24Right, that sound means it's time.
- 21:27To dial it. Up Flicker.
- 21:31Round sports segment, we got five stories.
- 21:34Errol hasn't heard him yet. He's going to react and dial up
- 21:37and take, and then one of us is going to respond to him.
- 21:40Are you ready for today's Dial It?
- 21:44Up as long as I don't scream in my ear.
- 21:46I was good at all this. Don't listen so loud.
- 21:49Then. Here we go.
- 21:51We're going to start with basketball.
- 21:52And if you didn't see this story, my goodness.
- 21:56So Doug Christie is the coach of the Kings, and they were leading
- 22:00the Warriors by one with three minutes left in the game.
- 22:04Warriors are going for playoff seating, but the Kings are
- 22:08trying to tank. They're trying to get the best
- 22:10draft pick possible, best lottery balls possible.
- 22:14Doug Christie calls the team to intentionally foul with over 3
- 22:18minutes to go while they're in the penalty, putting them on the
- 22:22line and they foul Seth Curry, the brother of Steph Curry,
- 22:25who's a 80 plus percent foul shooter.
- 22:28And of course he made them and they lose by a couple of points.
- 22:31Draymond Green after the game was pretty candid about how they
- 22:36should find the hell out of them and they can't allow this type
- 22:39of blatant tanking. But today, only a few hours ago,
- 22:43the NBA said, and I, I can't believe they said this, that it
- 22:47wasn't tanking, it was just really bad coaching.
- 22:53Dial it up. Bad coaching, Adam Silver
- 22:58protecting the players, the coaches always trying to find a
- 23:03way to make this even more of a mockery.
- 23:06Let's be straightforward here. That is absolutely tanking.
- 23:10There's no question. You would have to be a blind man
- 23:13to not believe that is tanking. Now, Doug Christie obviously is
- 23:18not in control of this team. He's probably getting fired at
- 23:21the end of the year. There's no way he's going to be
- 23:23the coach next year. They're going to try to bring
- 23:25somebody in that actually knows what he's doing.
- 23:27And this team, this roster is going to be completely gone as
- 23:29well. They're trying to get the
- 23:31highest and the best draft pick they possibly can.
- 23:34That is a fact. And the fact that anybody's
- 23:36making excuses or Doug Christie or even the NBA is coming out
- 23:39and trying to protect Sacramento so they don't have to find them,
- 23:43or I don't know what the hell they're going to do with Doug
- 23:45Christie because he's going to be gone anyway.
- 23:47It's a joke, an absolute joke. Yeah, I'm going to say that
- 23:53there is a tanking issue within the theme, but I'm going to kind
- 23:55of take a different approach. I think that what the owners and
- 23:58coaches are doing, because this is a pair of driven league, if
- 24:00they're figuring out loopholes in which they can participate
- 24:05and get high lottery picks and get more talent on the squad, I
- 24:08don't think Sacramento is going anywhere no time soon.
- 24:11But I just think that the owners and the coaches are just trying
- 24:14to get even with the players since this is a pair of driven
- 24:17league. I take Sabonis.
- 24:18If anybody wants to trade a bonus to me, I'll take him any
- 24:21day. I like him.
- 24:22I think he's The Who the Knicks. I take Sabonis any day.
- 24:27I take him over any power forward the Knicks have right
- 24:30now. This.
- 24:31Kid is drunk off Speedy. Really.
- 24:34I mean, Sabonis is a double double.
- 24:37He's great. I don't know why you don't think
- 24:39Sabonis is a great player. He's hurt right now.
- 24:40He's injured. Terrific trade idea.
- 24:44He's. Banged up.
- 24:45I don't know what you think is horrific.
- 24:46I mean, this guy, you talk about All Star games, you're going to,
- 24:51you're going to complain. This guy has been knocked out of
- 24:53an All Star game because he's not a fan favorite.
- 24:55He's one of the best power, one of the most underrated power
- 24:58forwards right now in the NBA and doesn't even get any credit
- 25:01for what he does because he's playing for Sacramento.
- 25:04Please. Just because he played for
- 25:06Sacramento, you know? Sacramento is terrible man.
- 25:10Yeah, but it don't mean he got that dude with him, him getting
- 25:13the accolades that he deserves. Now you're right about that.
- 25:16Let's move on to the next story. And JJ Redick and and Austin
- 25:19Reeves, when they were playing the Mavs, obviously there was a
- 25:22whole thing. They were, they were making fun
- 25:24of Luca when he got hurt the previous game and Reeves stood
- 25:27up for him. And Reeves gets hurt, pulls the
- 25:30oblique. But when the Mavs training
- 25:33staff, again, they're on the road, comes over to him.
- 25:36This is what happens. The medical staff performed the
- 25:39MRI as a common professional courtesy 2 days after he got
- 25:43hurt against the Thunder because they were going to the Mavs
- 25:45next. It's just standard procedure in
- 25:47the league. But Reddick told reporters that
- 25:50they scanned the wrong part of his body as if it was
- 25:53intentional to screw over the Lakers and screw over Reeves,
- 25:58The Mavericks three days later said in a statement.
- 26:01Through whatever company that is and ESPN denying any mistake.
- 26:05And he's going to be out a month, month and a half, and
- 26:07he's probably going to miss if they can't get through to
- 26:10through Round 2. I don't think he comes back.
- 26:13Errol, this was a weird one. Stop.
- 26:16Well, it's as weird as why JJ Reddick has a job still, all
- 26:21right. JJ Reddick is one of the more
- 26:23underrated head coaches. I mean, overrated coaches right
- 26:26now in the NBA. He should not be there.
- 26:29We've gone back and forth about him and John Shire.
- 26:32I, I know there is a lot of people that said he's better
- 26:34than John Shire. I think he's just as bad as John
- 26:36Shire. The fact that he's going out
- 26:38there after the fact and he's talking about the wrong body
- 26:42part and the wrong MRI just makes him look even more Dumber.
- 26:46The organizations are dumb. Home organization.
- 26:48You bring in JJ Redick for what reason?
- 26:50Because he's LeBron James's buck buddy.
- 26:52I honest to God, there's no way Luka Doncic is going to want
- 26:55this man being the coach next year.
- 26:57I expect, and I'm, I'm making a prediction.
- 27:00If Jason Kidd gets fired by Dallas in the offseason, he will
- 27:04be the new head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers.
- 27:06You can book it. You can send it because he's not
- 27:09as dumb as JJ Redick. And I know Jason Kidd, no matter
- 27:11how drunk he is, and he gets drunk and he runs himself into
- 27:15a, you know, trees and all that other stuff.
- 27:17He's not dumb enough to call out or explain something that he
- 27:22knows nothing about, including an MRI, which he, he, I don't
- 27:26even know what he knows. What a leg bone to a cheekbone
- 27:28to a, a finger bone. I, I don't know, he's an idiot.
- 27:32Yeah, and the Lakers, if they do that too, bring in Jason Kidd,
- 27:35it makes a lot of sense for their small chance that they
- 27:37think they have to get Giannis too, because Giannis coach Jason
- 27:40or Jason could coach Giannis as well.
- 27:41But nevertheless, yeah. JJ Redick, you're not a doctor.
- 27:44You're not a medical expert. You're now you're accusing The
- 27:46Mavericks. It's not like Dico Harrison's a
- 27:48medical trader. Dico Harrison was a medical
- 27:50trader. OK, maybe I can understand your
- 27:51accusation, but he's not They they have team doctors you're
- 27:54using. Why are you using your own team
- 27:55doctors too? Like why don't you examine it
- 27:58with the Lakers team doctors to see what the injury diagnosis
- 28:00really is of allegedly false report from another team?
- 28:04And why would you speak speak to the media about it when you have
- 28:08no idea what you're talking about?
- 28:11It makes no sense. Medical professional JJ Reddick
- 28:14coming from the. You go out there and you're
- 28:16speaking to the media, you throw yourself under the bus, your
- 28:18organization under the bus. You're a multi billion dollar
- 28:21organization. You're the Los Angeles Lakers,
- 28:23one of the more known basketball teams in the whole world, and
- 28:28you're going to go out and throw your organization.
- 28:30Just bought 2. Just had the new owners bought
- 28:31the team for about $10 million, you would think they would have
- 28:34some medical experts that might know what they're doing.
- 28:37Hey ERA. By the way, JJ already has fifty
- 28:39wins for the for the seasons. Yeah, well, good.
- 28:42Thing terrific. Jason Kidd would ask him a lot
- 28:44more. Good fans just.
- 28:47Terrible coach. Just a terrible coach.
- 28:49Yeah, well, you do have Luka Dodgek on the team.
- 28:53You do have you have LeBron James on a team.
- 28:56You have Reeves. So now it's just talent.
- 28:58Yeah, yeah, Talent. That's exactly what I'm saying.
- 29:00Talent will lose in. 5 or they win, you're on LeBron James.
- 29:02Dude, they're not even winning. They're even not even getting
- 29:05out of the. First round, so losing in five
- 29:06games no matter who they play. So it doesn't matter.
- 29:09Well, if you win 60 games, anything more than LeBron, let
- 29:13the other two guys might not make it or be at better than
- 29:1550%. Let's go to the next story right
- 29:19here, and this is not the one, but this is a baseball story we
- 29:21have to talk about. I told the speed of the layoff
- 29:23of it because I wanted to show the club.
- 29:25I saw this. Big time fight in the Angels.
- 29:30Braves match up, but one of the most unexpected things ever
- 29:35happened in a fight. It puts Jeff Van Gundy and
- 29:38Alonzo Mourning to shame. Let me show it to you right now
- 29:42right here. Here it is.
- 29:44It's 96 right at the eyes. He hit a Homer off of him
- 29:48earlier. It's kind of having some issues
- 29:51we're throwing. Neither one of them connected.
- 29:54That was the Homer. Well, actually there was one
- 29:56connection. I'm going to freeze it when they
- 29:57show it. Actually, I don't think they're
- 30:00going to show it in this clip. Maybe I've downloaded the wrong
- 30:01clip, but what they do, Lopez has the ball in his hand,
- 30:05Darrell. And as as he's coming to punch,
- 30:08he's coming with the hand with the ball and whacks him in the
- 30:11head with the ball and he stumbles a little bit, Solaire.
- 30:14But as he stumbles, he regains himself because Solaire is a
- 30:17beast. Walt Weiss, 62 year old manager
- 30:21of the Atlanta Braves, former teammate of Solares, also
- 30:25important to mention, goes in and double leg takedowns him
- 30:31like a freaking Taekwondo master that apparently he is and brings
- 30:36down one of the biggest, toughest guys in the game.
- 30:38And afterwards Solaire thanked him and said that he was just
- 30:42looking out for him. Walt Weiss is also the greatest
- 30:46athlete that came out of my high school suffering high school of
- 30:50all time. Shorts, You sure didn't play for
- 30:53the Giants. No, it's look, they don't have a
- 30:57lot of great athletes coming out of here.
- 30:59He's the guy. His name's all over the school.
- 31:01Still, 50 years later, Basic, 40 years later, that guy.
- 31:04I don't think I've seen a coach do something like that against a
- 31:07guy that strong since that Van Gundy episode.
- 31:10Can you think of anything similar to that, Errol?
- 31:14The the story is, is what Lopez did.
- 31:16And I was I was showing Speedy during our time at Applebee's
- 31:20yesterday and I was like, Lopez took a bowl and closed handed
- 31:26solar right in the face. And how the major leagues don't
- 31:30suspend this guy 10 or 11 games is pathetic.
- 31:34I mean, you're taking a ball and you're going full, full swing.
- 31:38If you're throwing at people with with a ball, imagine having
- 31:40a gripping a ball and hitting somebody on the face with it.
- 31:44Solar Solaire that's great Walt wise what he did and that's
- 31:48great taking a triple leg down takedown, whatever the hell he
- 31:51did great. It's wonderful an old man taking
- 31:53down Solaire and he's taking them great.
- 31:55The fact here is is the major leagues MLB needs to look at
- 31:59this look at the video Lopez try to hurt Solaire.
- 32:03They have to suspend this guy. They have to suspend this guy
- 32:07so. They have The Who do you think
- 32:10should have gotten more Lopez? That is not what happened.
- 32:13They gave seven games to Solaire and seven games to Lopez, but
- 32:18immediately reduced it to 5 because starting pitchers, it's
- 32:21just, you know, they they, they pitch once every five days.
- 32:24That was the decision. I tend to agree with you on that
- 32:27one. I've never seen a baseball used
- 32:29as a weapon like that. I've seen people throw a
- 32:31baseball at people. I've never seen someone use it
- 32:34like a brass knuckles is basically what he tried to do
- 32:37even with a helmet on. Solaire got shook by that and I
- 32:42don't know if that's the guy I'm trying to piss off.
- 32:44I think it's so crazy. It makes him even tougher to me.
- 32:47The fact that after he got tackled by Walt Weiss, he wasn't
- 32:50mad about it at all. He shook his hand, he thanked
- 32:53him and that, that's a scary dude.
- 32:56I'm just saying that's a scary dude.
- 32:58Lopez I I would be careful, I think the rest of the way this
- 33:03season. Qi was even I mentioned to get
- 33:05to Errol when I saw it too. Like the only thing I've seen
- 33:08similar to that. Maybe not as bad because it's a
- 33:10baseball's not as big as a helmet, but it's the Miles
- 33:12Garrett swinging at Mason Rudolph.
- 33:13Right. Yeah, that was it.
- 33:15That's that's part of the closest thing you can get to it
- 33:17because that was crazy. Garrett didn't get suspended at
- 33:20all. That's crazy.
- 33:21That was horrible. It was a it's underestimated,
- 33:25right? Like attacked like, you know,
- 33:27you had that in your hand and he never think you're going to
- 33:29swing that hand and you get hit with that ball.
- 33:31That's a whole different word, just like that.
- 33:32Dude, he got hit in the head with a he got hit with it.
- 33:36I mean, I would be pissed off. And and the fact that baseball
- 33:39didn't drop the hammer on Lopez, Lopez using that as a weapon,
- 33:43that's pathetic. That's assault.
- 33:45He should definitely, you know, get charged for that.
- 33:47Absolutely. I mean, that'd be crazy.
- 33:49But yeah, he should be. Has there that ever happened?
- 33:52I feel like it might have happened in hockey or something
- 33:54like that where it's just like pure attacking someone.
- 33:56Wasn't it the guy who hit someone in that Dominic Moore or
- 34:01his brother or something like that got hit in the back of the
- 34:03head by was it Bertuzzi? Yeah, one of those.
- 34:05Guys, it was Dominic Moore. I forget who hit Yeah.
- 34:07Worst I've seen was Sue when he kicked what you call with his
- 34:10feet. That's right, Hainesworth.
- 34:12The Hainesworth. With another one, Hainesworth.
- 34:14But yeah, true, that was something crazy.
- 34:18Let's, we're, let's stay on that right now with this next story
- 34:21because this one is about a temper tantrum that I haven't
- 34:25seen a professional athlete do in a long time.
- 34:27We're going to tennis. Former world #1 Dmitri Medvedev,
- 34:33right, Dmitri? Oh, Daniel.
- 34:34Daniel Medvedev. Medvedev.
- 34:37He suffered one of the most epic meltdowns.
- 34:42I saw. Tennis match.
- 34:43Ever he lost. Now he's ranked.
- 34:46He was used to be world #1A few years back.
- 34:48He's #10 right now he's playing the ranked number 91 player in
- 34:51the world at some Italian, not a major tournament, Monte Carlo
- 34:55Masters. He fell behind O2 and started
- 35:00losing his mind. He lost a historic double bagel
- 35:046060 swept out of this during the match when he's just knows
- 35:11it's over for him. He takes his racket and it's a
- 35:14clay court, which means it's not as hard.
- 35:16So we had to do it a lot of times.
- 35:18He destroyed his racket smashing and not one, not 2, not 3456,
- 35:23but seven times into the court, throwing an absolute temper
- 35:27tantrum while the crowd cheered him on sarcastically.
- 35:32My question to you, Errol is what is the greatest or worst
- 35:36temper tantrum you've either done yourself or you've seen in
- 35:41a sporting event? Dial it up.
- 35:43Temper tantrums I've ever seen I guess.
- 35:47Mike Tyson fighting off Holyfields here.
- 35:50I mean, that was probably the craziest thing I've ever seen in
- 35:53a professional sport. Just think about it and do it
- 35:55once. He did it twice on two different
- 35:58ears. I've never seen somebody try to
- 36:00RIP off somebody's ear with his teeth.
- 36:02So that would probably be the biggest and more the probably
- 36:06the craziest temper tantrum I've ever seen because Holyfield was
- 36:09kicking the hell out of Mike Tyson.
- 36:11So what did Mike Tyson do? Well, I got to hurt this guy,
- 36:14too. I bite his ear off, takes his
- 36:16ear and has it in his mouth and spits it out.
- 36:18And then the referee doesn't see it, warns Mike Tyson.
- 36:22And then the next round he does it again to the other the other
- 36:25ear. I mean, that was probably the
- 36:27biggest and the craziest temper tantrum I've ever seen.
- 36:29Me, Oh yeah, me. I'm probably say it's obviously
- 36:34football, but Bante Davis or the Bills, it just just completely
- 36:39left at halftime versus his heart.
- 36:43Like I've never in my life, like I've been seen some people mad.
- 36:46We punched lockers. We've did all kinds of stuff.
- 36:50They completely leave at halftime is probably one of the
- 36:54most insane temper tantras I've ever witnessed in my I've got.
- 36:58What about Antonio Brown? I was just about to say that
- 37:01would be my second one, Antonio Brown against The Jets decides.
- 37:05Decides. Decides to take off his jersey
- 37:08and his pants and but. That was good marketing.
- 37:10He could have bounced back from that.
- 37:12Gave the peace sign in the end zone and he walked right off the
- 37:16field so I remember that too. That was wild.
- 37:22It's perfect time it will mark for this.
- 37:24Well, CTE that's. Why they got worse after that?
- 37:27CTE. Brain trauma.
- 37:30All right, last story of the night, boys.
- 37:33I couldn't believe this didn't get ruined earlier when you were
- 37:35talking about chicken fingers. But did you know that the
- 37:38Yankees have fried chicken ice cream buckets this year?
- 37:43They look like fried chicken. You can hold it like a fried
- 37:47chicken drumstick, but it's chocolate cornflakes and white
- 37:53chocolate. It went so viral, Errol, that
- 37:57they sold out in the first inning and they don't have any
- 38:00more. They need to go and make more.
- 38:02They're going to let everyone know because this is the craze
- 38:07in the Bronx right now. So I know you're a picky eater,
- 38:10Errol. I know this about you.
- 38:13There's no honey mustard for these chicken, this chicken
- 38:16drumstick. Would you later this year when
- 38:20I'm sure we're going to go to a game?
- 38:21Come on. Come and get one of these
- 38:23buckets and get on on Instagram Live.
- 38:26Chow down on some list. Dial it up.
- 38:30Here's the thing. Yankee Stadium ice cream is
- 38:33horrible. I just mentioned it.
- 38:35I can't stand Yankee Stadium ice cream so I could only imagine
- 38:39what that tastes like. The ice cream I don't like.
- 38:42I love City Fields ice cream. I can eat buckets and buckets of
- 38:45it. As a matter of fact, I get 2.
- 38:47Like what do they call those helmet fulls I get?
- 38:50I get 2 of them. One one in the first 3 innings
- 38:53and then I get another one in the 6th or 7th inning before
- 38:56everything closes up. I always do it.
- 38:59I love their ice cream in Yankee Stadium.
- 39:01The ice cream is not Milky, it's just disgusting.
- 39:04It, it is like it's, I don't know, dietary ice creams.
- 39:07I could only imagine what that tastes like.
- 39:10Honestly, I'll try it just because, Listen, fish, if you
- 39:14want to buy it for me, I'll try it.
- 39:16I'll try it if you buy. For I would definitely buy that
- 39:18for you and as long as we film it for the gram for our fans to
- 39:22see. Now listen, they, they, they
- 39:25heard you. They heard I'm gonna do
- 39:26something. 800 ice cream was nasty.
- 39:28They threw fried chicken on. It I'm gonna do something even
- 39:30better and more gross for you guys.
- 39:32When I do try it, I'm gonna dip it in honey mustard.
- 39:36Yeah. Yeah, that's crazy.
- 39:38We should just get something that looks like honey mustard,
- 39:41but it's some kind of like, you know, like dessert.
- 39:42Caramel. Yeah, caramel for your ice
- 39:44cream. There you go.
- 39:45I love caramel, yeah, but I. You love Alfredo sauce.
- 39:49I love. You know we can get some Alfredo
- 39:51sauce for you to dip it in. I.
- 39:52Like that, like that, like that. Would you go for this?
- 39:57Is this something you'd be into? I.
- 40:00Blow my back up. I get more girls than scoops.
- 40:03Yeah, I'm not like I like a lot of cereals, more dry.
- 40:07I think it would be too good, too soggy once it gets that way.
- 40:10He likes to he likes to dry well, they're.
- 40:12Candied cornflakes. So they've been, you know, you
- 40:15know, they've added like a sugar thing and hardened so that it
- 40:17will stay on as far as I'm told. I would try it then.
- 40:21Maybe not a whole bucket though. The bones like a chocolate
- 40:23covered pretzel. OK.
- 40:25Yeah, I would. I would try it, but maybe not a
- 40:26whole bucket. Freaking daily lives.
- 40:30I think this is this is a home run, forgive the pun.
- 40:33That's. Be able to taste in my ass, God.
