- 0:22So grab your coffee, buckle up, and let's cruise through the latest in the world
- 0:26of wheels with a side of entertainment and just a dash of tire smoke.
- 0:33Well, hello.
- 0:35Hello.
- 0:36Spring is here.
- 0:38Spring has sprung.
- 0:40We have a new season Has Riz.
- 0:43I wonder where all the cars is.
- 0:44Is that's terrible.
- 0:47I feel like that's a greeting card.
- 0:48We need g team greeting cards now.
- 0:50Ah, we would be terrible at Hallmark.
- 0:52Like you get fired like the first day.
- 0:55Well, I mean, we're terrible at everything else.
- 0:57Why not just keep it going?
- 0:58That's true.
- 0:59So he, so Brad, how are, how are things going for you now in the
- 1:03new season since the jet started?
- 1:05Great.
- 1:06Things are amazing.
- 1:07I'm well prepared.
- 1:09I'm just, I'm ready to go.
- 1:10I actually watched some races.
- 1:12I'm eager to, to get started.
- 1:14I detect a hint of sarcasm there though.
- 1:16No.
- 1:18What are you talking about?
- 1:19Not at all.
- 1:20No.
- 1:20I am terrible at sarcasm.
- 1:22Let's hear from Kathleen Turner, Katie Curry.
- 1:25Wow, thank you.
- 1:27I know I'm several octaves lower than normal.
- 1:30I got that sultry sound.
- 1:31Sultry coming at you.
- 1:34When is the 900 number come out?
- 1:36This is like Delilah in the evenings.
- 1:38Delilah, oh my God.
- 1:43I think Tanya needs to just do the rest of the drive through, just like that.
- 1:49But you seem like you're a little down in the dumps.
- 1:51What's going on?
- 1:52You know, this is the dilemma of the car person.
- 1:57You know, you've got these really cool cars that you like
- 1:59to put money into and fix up.
- 2:02You know, you buy all these mods and stuff.
- 2:04But then your uncool car, your daily driver, it gets sad that
- 2:11it's not getting any attention.
- 2:13So it manufactures a reason for you to spend money on it.
- 2:16Oh, do tell.
- 2:17It's nothing crazy.
- 2:19I just need to do brakes and brakes and brakes, and brakes along the tundra.
- 2:23So new pads and rotors are en route to get something special.
- 2:27Cross drilled, ventilated.
- 2:29Slotted, anti glaze, super blacks, because it's Toyota Tundra, I obviously
- 2:35went with Ferrari, carbon ceramic.
- 2:39The entire brakes cost more than I paid for the truck, like five times over.
- 2:43No, I, last time I did this, which granted it was about 60,000 miles ago.
- 2:4950,000 miles ago, so they, they've lasted really, really long.
- 2:54Tire rack had a hawk, you know the LTS or whatever the, the,
- 2:57the truck kit is with Yeah.
- 2:59Cross drilled rotors and everything.
- 3:00So I just did the same kit again.
- 3:02Are you seeing the after effects of tariffs and other bureaucratic nonsense?
- 3:07I don't remember how much it cost last time, so maybe I just
- 3:11know how much it cost me now.
- 3:13And my wallet is almost $800 lighter.
- 3:15Oh, oh oh.
- 3:17But that's pads and rotors.
- 3:19All four corners.
- 3:21And you'll be able to do the work yourself.
- 3:22So you're gonna save some money.
- 3:23Theres yeah.
- 3:25Yeah.
- 3:25In my apartment parking lot.
- 3:27That's gonna be great.
- 3:28Or I'll save it 'cause I'll, the parts will be here.
- 3:30I'll do it that weekend that come up and it'll just be one of the things we do.
- 3:34And yet pumpkin spice gets pushed to the back yet again.
- 3:38You know, I gotta be able to stop though.
- 3:40It's kind of important.
- 3:41All it does is slow you down.
- 3:42I mean, it seems like a waste of time.
- 3:45All breaks.
- 3:45All they do is slow you down.
- 3:46Yeah.
- 3:47That's the olem right there.
- 3:49Remember?
- 3:49Yeah.
- 3:50What good or breaks, all they do is slow you down.
- 3:52Exactly.
- 3:53Well, you know what's not slowing down the news?
- 3:57The automotive industry, the auto sphere, it just keeps
- 4:01turning and churning and burning.
- 4:03We don't really have a formal showcase for our season kickoff, so why don't we
- 4:07dive right into your favorite segment, not Lost and found, Porsche News.
- 4:14Porsche News.
- 4:15Great.
- 4:16You're a PAR man at heart.
- 4:17You love those Porsches?
- 4:18I, I do, I do.
- 4:20I do.
- 4:21The hokey pokey with the boxer and the Cayman continue.
- 4:26So this social media post Porsche is secretly meeting to decide if the
- 4:31boxer and the Cayman EVs live or die.
- 4:33Ah, hype, click bait.
- 4:36Ah, flashy light, AI generated pictures, the whole nine yards.
- 4:40So this says the drive can exclusively report a meeting is currently underway.
- 4:44So which meeting is more important?
- 4:46The Federal Reserve's FOMC meeting about rate cuts or this meeting
- 4:51about the Porsche Boxter Cayman.
- 4:53This is more interesting than the treasury meeting by a mile.
- 4:58I could see that.
- 4:59Yes.
- 5:00I think this is all bs.
- 5:02There's an article that I found in doing some research 'cause I wanted
- 5:06to follow up on the social media post that had come out a bit ago.
- 5:09'cause this isn't new news that Porsche's been meeting about the
- 5:12fate of the boxer and the Cayman.
- 5:14Truth be told, the take can is being scrapped.
- 5:18They're kind of backpedaling on a lot of their EVs.
- 5:20The new Macon that was supposed to be ev, they said, Nope, we're
- 5:24gonna put a six cylinder back in it.
- 5:26We're just gonna sell it the way people want it.
- 5:27By the way, the new Macon, I thought looked like the ID four.
- 5:30It's pretty ugly.
- 5:31That is a novel concept, selling vehicles the way people actually want to buy them.
- 5:36I wish more car manufacturers would do that.
- 5:39You know, there's so many other options with your Porsche.
- 5:42Do you want it purple with yellow stitching or with white stitching?
- 5:45All this customization stuff, right?
- 5:47Maybe you could make it optional to say, I want the electric power plant,
- 5:50or I want the fossil fuel power plant.
- 5:52And that's something you choose.
- 5:54And the car's basically the same because at the end, does it really,
- 5:57does it really have to look different?
- 5:58It should perform the same.
- 5:59It should handle the same.
- 6:01They need to figure out a way to put the electrics in the
- 6:03place of where the gas motor is.
- 6:05Now granted, that's not always the easiest thing to do because of packaging,
- 6:08'cause of batteries, 'cause of this.
- 6:09'cause of that.
- 6:10I just go back to the original Tesla Roadster where they figured it out
- 6:14without modifying that El lease too much.
- 6:16But you know, we'll leave that where it is.
- 6:18Yeah.
- 6:19But I did find an article to sort of follow this up.
- 6:21I was like, what did Porsche decide about the fate of the Cayman and the boxer?
- 6:26And the only thing I came up with was an article from MotorTrend where a gentleman
- 6:31from Porsche of Australia said he drove.
- 6:34The electric boxer and that the electric boxer was not dead yet.
- 6:38So I'm sort of like, well, uh, okay, but there's no other indication.
- 6:44And even the MotorTrend articles like, well, if once we learn more, we will
- 6:48post more about this particular topic.
- 6:50But there's really no news.
- 6:52But it has been confirmed that the other Porsche models, because of their
- 6:55poor sales in China, VW suffering, Porsche's having money problems.
- 7:00So they're backpedaling on a lot of these EVs because they're
- 7:03trying to make take hands as an example that nobody wants to buy.
- 7:06It seems like people don't even go to Porsche dealerships
- 7:10to buy Porsches anymore.
- 7:13Oh, if you look at the article that I just put in the chat, I don't know
- 7:17if this is rich people things or it's P car adjacent, but somebody
- 7:24just bought a brand new Mustang GTD, which is a $300,000 car, which makes
- 7:29it qualify for rich people things.
- 7:31Why don't you just take a guess at where they had it delivered?
- 7:34Well, because we're talking about Porsche's.
- 7:36Did he have it delivered to a Volkswagen dealership?
- 7:39He had it delivered to a Porsche dealership so he could take delivery
- 7:42of his $300,000 Porsche Killer Mustang, right in front of Porsche.
- 7:48Why?
- 7:49Well, because nobody wants to buy a Porsche.
- 7:51It's just to show off.
- 7:52Hey, check out my Mustang.
- 7:54Yeah, it's just to show.
- 7:54Just because he could.
- 7:55That's weird.
- 7:56That's very weird.
- 7:58Well, so, so speaking of weird, Lamborghini is putting out yet another
- 8:03car without an R eight as a sibling to it.
- 8:07So Lambos continuing to do what Lambo does, but in the same breath,
- 8:13the CTO from Lambo is going to Audi.
- 8:17How does this work?
- 8:18Does this mean we're gonna get an R eight?
- 8:20Because if this guy's been behind Lambo, just pumping out more cars every
- 8:24couple of years, does that mean Audi?
- 8:26He's gonna have a supercar again, but he's just the CTO.
- 8:30He's not the COO or the chief engineer or anything like that.
- 8:34I don't know where I was going with that, but I, I feel like it, it's like the c
- 8:38No, it is like the CFO going somewhere, you know, the, the head bean counter.
- 8:42Well, aren't the bean counters the ones in charge of all the designs now anyway, for
- 8:46places like Chevy and you can clearly tell to me it's all that C level juju that,
- 8:52that voodoo, that I don't understand, like what those guys do other than get
- 8:57really big bonuses at the end of the year.
- 8:59They make a ton of money for themselves and their shareholders.
- 9:02That's what, that's what they do.
- 9:03If that's the case with the CTO coming over from Lambo, shouldn't
- 9:07he use a little leverage and say, Hey guys, work for us at Lambo.
- 9:10Maybe you should build a supercar again maybe.
- 9:14But did you also hear, and it's not in the notes here, but the
- 9:17Audi is discontinuing the A eight.
- 9:20That doesn't surprise me.
- 9:21It hasn't sold well in years.
- 9:24It hasn't looked good in years.
- 9:25No, it looks terrible.
- 9:26Oh yeah.
- 9:26It's like an old Mercedes almost.
- 9:28It's super blocky and just, ugh.
- 9:30Yeah.
- 9:31Super terrible.
- 9:32So yeah, if there's no R eight sibling and then they're getting rid of the
- 9:35A eight, what are, well, you know, they have to fund, as we've talked
- 9:38about multiple times, they have to fund that F1 team somehow, you know,
- 9:42that they're doing so well with, they're actually not doing too bad, but
- 9:45yeah, they have to fund that program.
- 9:47Well, there's a little wrinkle in that plan because first we had Dieselgate.
- 9:53Now we have Turbo Gate.
- 9:58Oh, turbo Gate.
- 9:59Oh man.
- 10:00Have you read about this?
- 10:01Uh, no.
- 10:03So there were problems with the two liter turbos already a while ago.
- 10:08Chain guide issues and other stuff that they had.
- 10:10I mean, this goes back to like the Mark five GTIs, like that far back
- 10:14where there were always sort of issues with the two liter turbo and you
- 10:17know, and much like the 180 T, they sort of figured them out over time.
- 10:21Recalls do this, do that.
- 10:23Well, unfortunately, with the newer motors, the EA 8, 8 8, I gotta say
- 10:28that right, they are being hit with a class action lawsuit over oil
- 10:33consumption because the motors are basically blowing up and they have
- 10:37defective piston rings and high oil consumption and they use this motor in
- 10:42everything in a point of clarification.
- 10:46Even though the motor did come in cars all the way back to 2008, the lawsuit
- 10:51specifies 2018 and newer, correct?
- 10:55Correct.
- 10:56There's a statute of limitation, so that gives them a little bit of relief.
- 10:59Yeah.
- 10:59But then you gotta go back and look at the production numbers
- 11:01of vehicles that use that motor.
- 11:02From 2018 forward, that's still an absolute ton of cars.
- 11:07So anything with a four cylinder from VAG has the same power plant in it,
- 11:11and this is their new diesel gate.
- 11:14This is gonna cost them billions with a B. Are they gonna buy back all these cars?
- 11:20Are people gonna do, is it gonna be like Dieselgate all over again
- 11:23where people like removed doors and windshields and basically, as long as
- 11:27the vehicle could still drive into the lot, they were able to trade it back in.
- 11:32I don't know that it's gonna get to that point, but what it does
- 11:34bring up is an interesting dilemma that they have on their hands.
- 11:38Do you go the Toyota route like they did with their twin turbo sixes and
- 11:42all that stuff where it's like, well, you're gonna have to wait in line to
- 11:44get your new motor and then we'll swap out the motor for the defective one.
- 11:48That kind of thing.
- 11:49But if they have to do that for all of these cars, going back to a certain
- 11:52point, they're not gonna be able to produce enough motors for one and
- 11:55for two it's gonna cost them a mint.
- 11:57Are you kidding?
- 11:58Of course, they're gonna be able to, to produce no motors.
- 12:00They didn't sell that many of this shit.
- 12:02But there's four cylinders in everything, right?
- 12:04It's in the VWs.
- 12:05There are, there are, you know, it's in all of 'em.
- 12:07The thing is, if you were to do a fix, it requires an engine rebuild.
- 12:12So now you gotta tear the whole thing down.
- 12:14So where is the point of no return?
- 12:16Where Audi and Volkswagen, and even if they used the four cylinders and
- 12:20the Porsches, which at one point I, they were rumored that they were
- 12:22gonna try to use the same two liter turbo for some project over there too.
- 12:26But let's just say the VAG family as a whole globally, don't forget, right?
- 12:30Because they're selling these motors in Brazil.
- 12:32They're selling 'em in Australia, they're selling 'em in Germany.
- 12:34They're sell 'em everywhere.
- 12:35Now granted, the class action lawsuit is in America, but that doesn't
- 12:39mean it won't be like Dieselgate, where it's more widespread.
- 12:42Again, where is the point of no return?
- 12:44Where do you cut your losses and say, yeah, we'll just buy back the car, or
- 12:48we'll give you a trade in value that's decent towards a new one, or you just
- 12:52don't, and people run 'em till they explode and they're worth nothing.
- 12:58So I wish them luck, but I think that's gonna cut into their
- 13:01financial plans for Formula One.
- 13:03That's all I'm gonna say.
- 13:04Yeah, that's okay.
- 13:06They won't be missed.
- 13:08No, that's Cadillac.
- 13:08Sorry.
- 13:09Well we'll get, we'll get to that.
- 13:11A recent social media post that I threw up on Discord from the Automatic,
- 13:16pretty much sums up everything I have to say about VW these days.
- 13:20And I thought it was spot on.
- 13:21The caption says VW claims drivers wanted, but stop making drivers cars.
- 13:28It's pretty disappointing.
- 13:30I think they have a lot of problems drivers wanted.
- 13:35They really do want drivers, but they're not making anything drivers want.
- 13:39That's the problem.
- 13:40I don't know what to say.
- 13:41I mean they're really expensive.
- 13:42And to option out A GTI at 50 or $60,000 to have it eat oil off
- 13:49the lot at zero miles is insanity.
- 13:54Yeah, it's ridiculous.
- 13:55I don't know who's in charge charge.
- 13:57And that was one thing you could count on in the old days, was that German build
- 14:02quality and that has just plummeted.
- 14:06It's just not there anymore.
- 14:07Yeah.
- 14:07And breaking news
- 14:12mentioned before about the new Macan, the new ID four will
- 14:16be rebadged as the Tiguan.
- 14:21Oh, I'm sorry Brad, did I put you to sleep?
- 14:23Oh, not you, Volkswagen did.
- 14:26Oh yeah.
- 14:26So boring.
- 14:27You know I am a huge Volkswagen fan as you know.
- 14:31I love Volkswagen cars.
- 14:33I recommend anything.
- 14:34Mark four and older
- 14:38and my friend just ball one and she, not a Volkswagen, she was looking for a new car.
- 14:45She needed to replace her, like 13-year-old Jeep.
- 14:48And I was like, oh, why not a Volkswagen?
- 14:49She said, Nope, nope, not gonna happen.
- 14:51She went to the dealership and what did she end up with?
- 14:53A Mazda CX 50.
- 14:55The new Volkswagen, the new driver's cars.
- 14:57A hundred percent.
- 14:58Yep.
- 14:59But I think that's an issue across all the German cars, Mercedes and BMW, you know,
- 15:05the, the brands we love to talk about.
- 15:07And Audi even too, like all their quality has been going down for years.
- 15:11Well, I'm glad you opened the door to talk about BMW and Mercedes.
- 15:14'cause I know we try to avoid it.
- 15:16We sometimes we just can't, Brad that we have news coming
- 15:20from Lower Saxony this month.
- 15:22I know we talked about this design and we were like, oh man,
- 15:26rendering, this is some AI nonsense.
- 15:29Well, guess what?
- 15:30It ain't AI rendering anymore.
- 15:32The new three series has been revealed.
- 15:34I'm sorry, I don't know what that is.
- 15:39I think it's a Geely.
- 15:40Brad is speechless.
- 15:42I don't know what that is.
- 15:44Uh, that's the new BMWI three.
- 15:46That is the three series.
- 15:48That's what they're gonna look like.
- 15:49But it So it's the three, it's the I three though.
- 15:52So does this replace the regular three series?
- 15:56I guess It does say, yeah.
- 15:57Uh, it says right there, right in front of me reading, you know, comprehension,
- 16:01everybody reviews all new three series.
- 16:03Yeah.
- 16:03So yeah.
- 16:05What, what it looks like a Corolla.
- 16:07It also kind of looks like a five series.
- 16:09It looks really big.
- 16:10Which the five series are super ugly too.
- 16:12Yeah.
- 16:12Yeah.
- 16:13To their credit, they got rid of the big carp grills.
- 16:16They were growing on me.
- 16:18I actually really like those on the M three.
- 16:20I saw an M three today on my way home, and I saw, I, I actually kinda like that.
- 16:24You think you couldn't make it uglier?
- 16:26And then they managed to figure out how, see this is the Subaru thing.
- 16:30I keep talking about it.
- 16:32Every time the new Subaru comes out, you're like, man, is it ugly?
- 16:36Ah, until the next one comes out.
- 16:39And then you look at the old one, you go, you know, it's not that bad.
- 16:42And you can do that with every Subaru, especially the Impreza that's come
- 16:46out since the 2.5 Rs body style, like the Colin McRay one from the
- 16:50nineties, which was actually a halfway decent looking little shit box.
- 16:53But after that, they just got with a bla eye and the Hawkeye and the
- 16:57this eye and the da, and then they just got uglier and uglier ugly,
- 17:00and BM BMW's doing the same thing.
- 17:03Same thing.
- 17:04And I read an article about this car and they, they were talking about how
- 17:08it's supposed to be like a really, it's really fast and it's gonna
- 17:11have a lot of power and everything.
- 17:13But it got me thinking, and I don't know if we'll answer this question
- 17:17now, but like what was the best decade for actual driver's cars?
- 17:23So this is something that John Summers and his co-host Mark Gammy debate quite a
- 17:28lot on the motoring historian these days.
- 17:30I was talking to John even this week and he was saying how he
- 17:34sort of settled in to how the cars from the eighties and nineties are
- 17:39probably what he calls peak car.
- 17:41Yeah, totally.
- 17:43Because you had the beginnings of a BS, but you didn't have all the nannies.
- 17:46And in some cases some cars were better off having a BS than without.
- 17:51But then they were still very analog.
- 17:53Suspensions were very simple.
- 17:54Designs were things that people liked and you could get in, flog the crap out of the
- 17:59cars and enjoy the experience of driving.
- 18:02But after a certain point, and I think that's the mid two thousands, like
- 18:062005, six timeframe, they all, because those cars are sort of left over from
- 18:12the nineties, they were developed in the nineties and carried in.
- 18:15You know, we've had these discussions on the, what should I buy episodes.
- 18:18But after the mid two thousands, it all just starts to fall apart.
- 18:22It aligns exactly with the Bengal period at BMW.
- 18:25As soon as Chris Bengal stepped in as a designer, just to kind of highlight
- 18:29them at, because we're talking about them, that's when it all began
- 18:32to fall apart to stick with bmw.
- 18:34I mean, people would argue that like the E 46 series of the BMWs and
- 18:40even the E 39 were like the best.
- 18:42Most well-balanced fun cars.
- 18:45Yeah.
- 18:46Their slogan back then used to be the ultimate driving machine, and then
- 18:49it got me wondering like, what was the, I think also around that time
- 18:53there was a, that's when the, the really big horsepower wars started.
- 18:57Yeah.
- 18:58And I think that ruined cars now.
- 19:02It's it.
- 19:02Yeah.
- 19:02I, you can have a car with 7, 800, 900 horsepower or whatever off a deal or lot.
- 19:07Fantastic.
- 19:08That's amazing.
- 19:09What's it like to drive?
- 19:10What is it like to drive a Hellcat?
- 19:13Probably Bing sucks.
- 19:14Yeah.
- 19:14Yeah.
- 19:15It's probably a terrible car to drive.
- 19:17So like what were, what was the best generation or the best decade or time
- 19:21period for an actual driver's car?
- 19:24I, I, I'd like to hear actually if she's up for it, what Tanya
- 19:28thinks the best generation or time period of driver's cars.
- 19:33'cause she's got something.
- 19:35Very, very modern.
- 19:36And something in that time period we were just talking and then something in
- 19:41the eighties, she's kind of got Yeah.
- 19:43A, a plethora.
- 19:45When the question was first asked, what I thought of in my head as the
- 19:48answer was eighties and nineties.
- 19:51Mm-hmm.
- 19:52Which then you went on to say that John Summers said the same thing.
- 19:56Yeah.
- 19:57I mean, if you're discounting all the muscle cars and the malaise and
- 20:00all that stuff, you know, the people like, they were all terrible to drive.
- 20:03They were, they were not great.
- 20:05Yeah.
- 20:05I, I think you're right.
- 20:06Like the, the, the, the nineties and early two thousands was the best combination of
- 20:12safe, fun to drive, had enough power that you could, you know, get into a little
- 20:16bit of trouble, but not too much trouble.
- 20:19And they were still stylish.
- 20:20I think that's, that's the period.
- 20:22And they, they, and they looked good.
- 20:23Yeah.
- 20:23Now I will say to your point about the horsepower wars, I think that
- 20:27started with the C five Z oh six.
- 20:30When they came to the table and said 400, 400, everybody stood back and said,
- 20:35whoa, we're going 400 horsepower now.
- 20:37Because if you look at the cars, up until that point, 247 horsepower was, you know,
- 20:42the by turbo S four and the M three and even the Nissan GTR, they were all like
- 20:46sub 300 horsepower because of insurance.
- 20:49And, and in Japan they were all 2 76.
- 20:51Yeah.
- 20:51Right.
- 20:52And then Porsche was like, oh three 30 in the nine 11 turbo and it was
- 20:57like right around 300 horsepower.
- 20:59And, you know, everybody was creeping around that number and
- 21:01300 was like, whoa, that's a lot.
- 21:04And then Corvette said.
- 21:05Y'all 400.
- 21:07And then from there it was like to the stratosphere.
- 21:09Now we have 1100 horsepower gas motors and we got 1900 horsepower equivalent EVs.
- 21:15But the driving capability of people does not match the
- 21:19ability of the vehicles either.
- 21:20Right, right.
- 21:21And And that's the thing like the, you mentioned the Corvette, I mean, yeah, 400.
- 21:25They were so proud of the 400.
- 21:27They even stamped it right on the zero six badge Z six.
- 21:30Yeah.
- 21:30They did 400 horsepower.
- 21:31But the flip side of that, with that particular car is not only
- 21:35did they advertise 400, 400, they also advertised one G.
- 21:39One G because it could pull a G and turn.
- 21:41Yes.
- 21:41A lot of the, most of the other cars that were started with the
- 21:44horsepower war and definitely the cars.
- 21:45Now they can't do that.
- 21:47No.
- 21:47And this generation of pony wars.
- 21:50That's gone on is just absolutely insane.
- 21:52The stuff that they're producing, and again, I'm not knocking people's
- 21:55ability to drive, but you know, the standard driving test that you
- 21:59get does not necessarily say, oh yeah, you're ready to go drive an
- 22:031100 horsepower demon tomorrow.
- 22:05That's just, no, that's a whole different caliber of driving.
- 22:08Even though you can roll up to your driver's test in one.
- 22:12Yeah, a thousand percent.
- 22:13I'm sure it's been done, but you know, hey, whatever.
- 22:15While you all were talking, was perusing a list of, ah, just outta curiosity.
- 22:20Coolest and probably best nineties cars ever.
- 22:22It's a very long list, and you read down the list and it's like.
- 22:26The Acura legend, all of the different Audis.
- 22:29The coop, the 100, the 200 wagon, the Z 3M coop, BMW was in that timeframe.
- 22:36You had the Rado, you had whatever other golfs, you had the Miata coming out.
- 22:42Obviously there was Borsch Viper.
- 22:45You had the Viper.
- 22:46You had the Viper, you had the Eagle Talon people.
- 22:48The Eagle Talon was there.
- 22:50You had, if you were into Vans, man, the Aerostar wagons, vans, the minivans.
- 22:55You with all wheel drive and Emanuel.
- 22:57Yeah, the F 40, yeah.
- 22:59Yeah, the NSXs.
- 23:02Even Mercedes with the C-L-K-G-T-R was that time.
- 23:06Yeah.
- 23:06The The eight 50 BMW, the 300 ZX Twin Turbo.
- 23:11If you're into American, you had the Firebird TransAm, you know the RX seven?
- 23:16The Celica, yeah, the Skylines.
- 23:18Yeah.
- 23:19It goes on and on.
- 23:20I mean, it goes on and on the launches.
- 23:22If you're in Europe, the Delta was that time period.
- 23:26My God.
- 23:27Yes.
- 23:27I mean, so many things out of this list, the SL Mercedes, the little two
- 23:32door, there was a ton of good stuff back then and they were all unique
- 23:37and different looking and they, they all had their own personalities.
- 23:41Yeah, exactly.
- 23:42You could tell them apart, that's a Toyota, that's an Audi, that's an Acura.
- 23:47It wasn't like, I'm sorry, is that a BM BMW three series or
- 23:50is that a Toyota crawler, right.
- 23:52Yeah.
- 23:53Or is that the new Civic And, and I think that's why John calls it peak
- 23:57car, because we've crested the peak.
- 23:59We are on the other side of that slope, and it's not
- 24:01getting any better anytime soon.
- 24:03You're, you're probably right.
- 24:05Start teetering off.
- 24:07After the mid two thousands because in the early two thousands you still
- 24:10had like the A four was really nice.
- 24:13You had the TT that was coming out right there at the cusp of the end of the
- 24:16nineties into the TUR two thousands.
- 24:19You had the resurgence of the Beatle take that for what you
- 24:21will, depending on your fandom.
- 24:23The peak of golf.
- 24:25Yeah.
- 24:26Was the mid, the early to mid two thousands, the Mark
- 24:29IVs and even the Jettas.
- 24:31Right.
- 24:32And then slowly, I think after that time period, you couldn't play that
- 24:35game anymore when you were a kid at night looking down the street or
- 24:39riding in the car and going like, oh, those headlights, that's a whatever.
- 24:43That's a whatever.
- 24:44Now it's like, I don't know.
- 24:46Is that a cop behind me?
- 24:48Is that a Kia?
- 24:49Is that Hyundai?
- 24:50Is that an Altima coming to take me out?
- 24:52I don't know.
- 24:53Maybe it's a pickup truck.
- 24:55It's a cyber truck.
- 24:56Yeah.
- 24:57And we'll get to another iconic car.
- 25:00I don't wanna take the cat out of the bag for lost and found just yet,
- 25:03but there's another one on this list that everybody forgets and it might
- 25:07be the, the most iconic of iconic cars, but we'll, we'll get there.
- 25:10So let's put a pin in that and get back on track and talk about BMW and Mercedes.
- 25:14'cause I found this next thing really, really amusing.
- 25:18I'm gonna just read the headline.
- 25:20Court blocks attempt to force BMW and Mercedes to stop selling gas cars.
- 25:30They block an attempt, so someone's trying to stop them from making
- 25:34gasoline cars, but the courts said no.
- 25:37No, yes.
- 25:39Okay.
- 25:39An environmental group sought in court to halt BMW and Mercedes
- 25:43sales of new combustion engine vehicles by 2030, but to no avail.
- 25:47That's the subtitle there.
- 25:49You know who heads up the group?
- 25:51Who's that?
- 25:51Christian Horner
- 25:54protesting the wrong thing.
- 25:58That man is Unhirable.
- 25:59No one will give him a job.
- 26:04Oh Lord.
- 26:05Yeah.
- 26:05So there's that going on for BMW and Mercedes.
- 26:08And Oh, by the way, Tanya, you talked about I, we got together
- 26:12at the end of the season.
- 26:12We're talking about things that were closing and things that were dying.
- 26:15We missed one.
- 26:17After 39 years in business, AC Schnitzer, the BMW tuner has closed its doors.
- 26:24Oh, okay.
- 26:26But the reason they're closing, I thought was really interesting.
- 26:30Unlike everybody else, whatever excuses they use for going out of business,
- 26:34AC Schnier came to the table and they legitimately said it was German
- 26:39bureaucracy that forced them to close.
- 26:42Because they're a tuner.
- 26:44Every change they make to A BMW has to go through like regulatory
- 26:48compliance and all this kind of stuff with their version of the DOT.
- 26:51And they said it was taking upwards of nine months to get changes approved
- 26:57for highway use on the BMWs that they were tuning and that they were
- 27:00modifying that left buyers wanting to go spend their money elsewhere.
- 27:05To which I thought probably Porsche.
- 27:11So who's going to support?
- 27:12Any warranty claims for ac schnitt or parts and products?
- 27:18I think that's a five minute, five mile warranty from the word go.
- 27:21I think as soon as you sign that pad and tandem your credit card,
- 27:25it's, it, it's over because they, they, they all have stamped on 'em.
- 27:28Race use only not to be used on public rec.
- 27:31Yeah.
- 27:32Not approved by German DOT.
- 27:34Yes.
- 27:35Some those cars will find their way out to bring a trailer just like everything else.
- 27:39Alright, so let's get, let's get out of this BMW Mercedes.
- 27:42Thank god funk and let's talk about Japanese stuff in Asian domestic news.
- 27:48This is exciting stuff here After 20 years.
- 27:51Toyota has unveiled the new Celica and you know where they did it on
- 27:56the world rally championship stage?
- 27:59Yeah.
- 28:00The celicas coming back.
- 28:02So that means if Gazoo has their way, we're gonna see we proper Celica.
- 28:08Supra.
- 28:09Not that BMW thing they gave us.
- 28:13Oh.
- 28:13Nobody's gonna have their way.
- 28:14They put the bean counter in charge.
- 28:16Uh, why you got a rain on my parade?
- 28:19Reality because we really think the MR two that they said is
- 28:22gonna come, is gonna come out.
- 28:24I remain hopeful and steadfast the Gazoo will continue to produce cool stuff.
- 28:30Notice I didn't say Toyota Gazoo will continue to produce.
- 28:34So this like, is this gonna be like Scion?
- 28:35Yeah.
- 28:36Yes, exactly.
- 28:37It'll be like Scion.
- 28:38It looks cool though.
- 28:40It's big for a two-door coupe, let's call it that.
- 28:44It's big now, granted, it has the big rally flares, just like
- 28:47the Yaris and all the other rally Toyotas have, and it's all jacked up.
- 28:51So it's hard to tell what it would look like as a streetcar, but this is exciting.
- 28:55The Celica could be coming back, mine's gonna drive it.
- 29:11And it also sort of boggled my mind that it's been 20 years since
- 29:15Celica went out of production.
- 29:17That's a long time.
- 29:19The last sica was sort of crap, wasn't it?
- 29:21I mean, no offense Ron Sheri if you're listening, but it was sort of crap.
- 29:25That's funny that you think you would be listening.
- 29:32Thank you for your continued Patreon support.
- 29:34Yes.
- 29:35I don't know.
- 29:35I think that's exciting.
- 29:37Selica.
- 29:37It's coming back.
- 29:39Alright, so you remember before we were talking about BMW and how there's
- 29:42the Subaru effect, I like to call it.
- 29:44This next one is case in point of what I'm talking about.
- 29:49Please take a look at the 2026 Subaru Trail Seeker Subaru can.
- 29:56The what?
- 29:57The trail seeker.
- 29:58What the, it seeks trails.
- 30:02I don't understand what this, is this like a wagon?
- 30:06Is it a van?
- 30:07It's owners are blonde.
- 30:09Well, it's like a really smooshed van.
- 30:11It has like lines of a van.
- 30:13It looks like a 94 A two.
- 30:16What?
- 30:17They all have that same rear light.
- 30:19Now, did you notice that with the long light bar, just like
- 30:21the Porsches and the Audis have, why is that a design thing now?
- 30:25Because they all copied.
- 30:27Why is the fog light integrated into the plastic co cladded fenders?
- 30:32That reminds me of the, what was that Jeep that had the three headlights?
- 30:36Oh, that was the Cherokee like 10, 15 years ago, right?
- 30:40Yeah.
- 30:40Got it.
- 30:41How much plastic did they put on this?
- 30:42This is terrible.
- 30:44And the windows are tiny and the doors are huge.
- 30:46It's all wrong.
- 30:48Was this designed by chat, GPT?
- 30:50I mean, it has the lines of a minivan, but it's too short.
- 30:53So then it's like, well wagon, but then it's not, I bet if you
- 30:58saw this in person, it's massive.
- 31:00Probably this is the trickery of these things.
- 31:03They never put an object next to the car.
- 31:07So you can gauge how big it is, right?
- 31:09Because if you put a six foot male next to this, you kind of go, oh shit,
- 31:14it's as tall as he is, it's six feet.
- 31:15That's huge.
- 31:17So you got a perspective.
- 31:18It's like stand, you know, person standing next to a redwood tree.
- 31:21But this, this thing is, I don't know, this is what people want.
- 31:25No, I think might be the size of a Tahoe.
- 31:27It's noise.
- 31:28In real life, I could care less about the cubic foot of storage that it has.
- 31:34It has towing capacity.
- 31:35Apparently it'll do zero to 60 in 4.3 seconds because it's electric.
- 31:40I'm like, it's still ugly.
- 31:42It is.
- 31:44Cloth is the new thing, right?
- 31:46There's no more leather or vinyl in cars.
- 31:49It's all this cloth, like it looks like a dentist's office.
- 31:52No, that's a very Subaru thing and I don't know why.
- 31:56Looks terrible.
- 31:57It's part of that rugged appeal.
- 31:59Apparently leather's not rugged, but cloth is until, because that way when
- 32:04you're dirty from your hiking adventures and you get in, then you can get the seat
- 32:08dirty and then not be able to clean it.
- 32:10And it just adds to the ambiance of outdoor trail seeking.
- 32:15What is that television?
- 32:16In the middle of the dashboard.
- 32:17It's that 17 inches.
- 32:18It's huge.
- 32:19God.
- 32:21Nothing about that says awesome.
- 32:24And you know what?
- 32:24The driver's era of cars didn't have computer screens in them.
- 32:29They barely had cassette decks.
- 32:30They barely had CD players.
- 32:32They had cassette decks
- 32:35continuing with Asian domestic news.
- 32:37Guess what, Tanya?
- 32:38The rumor mill is humming.
- 32:40Hyundai is expected to make 21 examples of the vision N 74 concept at the
- 32:49low, low price of $350,000 a piece.
- 32:53You gonna get one?
- 32:54I don't know.
- 32:54I haven't seen that confirmed anywhere, but except social
- 32:57media, that's the only place.
- 32:59It's where the best news comes from.
- 33:01I think it's BS because I don't, I don't think they're gonna make it.
- 33:03It's hydrogen powered for one.
- 33:05Then what are people gonna do with it?
- 33:07Use it as a model car.
- 33:08I mean, unless they're making it back to the future reboot movie.
- 33:11That would make sense.
- 33:12You're selling it for three 50,000.
- 33:14You're only selling it to rich people who aren't gonna drive it.
- 33:16So it doesn't matter if they can get hydrogen or not.
- 33:18So it'll have like 12 original miles.
- 33:20But on the same token, not necessarily Asian news, but the French connection.
- 33:34Alpine, yes.
- 33:35Alpine.
- 33:36The same.
- 33:36Alpine is in Formula One is reportedly going through US.
- 33:40Crash certification for the one 10.
- 33:44That is true.
- 33:45That is exciting.
- 33:47The Cayman killer could be coming to the us.
- 33:52Well, Porsche is the Cayman killer.
- 33:53Oh,
- 33:56oh, REM shot.
- 34:00Now granted it's gonna cost a quadrillion dollars.
- 34:03I mean, I've seen these in person, especially I've seen
- 34:05the A one 10 R old team.
- 34:08They call it, which is like the GT three version or whatever fan freaking tastic.
- 34:13I would love to have one of these.
- 34:14They are amazing.
- 34:16Oh, and, and I never would I have ever thought that Alpine would
- 34:19be like, oh yeah, we're gonna bring cars to the United States.
- 34:22There's still a possibility that they're not going to, but the fact
- 34:24that they're going to crash testing means they might be making a push.
- 34:28Because unlike Audi, who's in denial, Alpine needs to sell cars
- 34:33to fund their Formula One program.
- 34:36They're probably a good idea to expand their market a
- 34:39little bit, don't you think?
- 34:41I dunno.
- 34:42I'm excited.
- 34:42I think those cars are awesome.
- 34:44The downside, much like the alpha male four C because of its mono co and all
- 34:49that other stuff that they did will never come with a manual transmission.
- 34:53But with a car like that, do you really want it?
- 34:56Do you really care?
- 34:58Left foot break in and some paddle shifters.
- 35:00Let's go.
- 35:01Let's go.
- 35:01This is a weapon.
- 35:03This is a proper sports car.
- 35:05Let's go.
- 35:06Tanya, as we close out this segment, this thing says commercial.
- 35:09Since last time we were doing Super Bowl commercials, Uhhuh.
- 35:13So I've dug back into the historical archives.
- 35:17Oh boy.
- 35:17Find some old car commercials.
- 35:19And this one featuring celebrity Eddie Murphy.
- 35:22And look at that.
- 35:23The Toyota Celica.
- 35:25How on point.
- 35:28Bringing it full circle.
- 35:29Did you look at this Sica commercial with Eddie Murphy?
- 35:32I have not.
- 35:33Let's see.
- 35:34Alright.
- 35:34How bad is this one?
- 35:35It's only 30 seconds.
- 35:36How good could it be?
- 35:37There's like a series of them, but yes, Sean, talking of town in New
- 35:41York, it's almost popular as I am.
- 35:43I look at the glamorous style, glamorous styling.
- 35:49Take out the dual MO four wheel steering.
- 35:51Giving it a little rub down.
- 35:53What is he doing to the car?
- 35:56So weird.
- 35:58Was he like fondling it?
- 35:59What was that?
- 36:00Watch it.
- 36:01That was almost Burgess Meredith level.
- 36:04Weird.
- 36:06Ah, so weird.
- 36:09Tanya, where do you find this stuff from?
- 36:11The depths of YouTube.
- 36:13It's a place I don't like to go very often.
- 36:15Switching gears to lost and found your favorite section of the drive through and
- 36:19keeping with what we were just talking about or what Tanya was just talking
- 36:22about before headline reads, 70% of Americans say new cars are unaffordable.
- 36:29This is Jalopnik reporting top shelf news here, as is everything.
- 36:35Yes, everything's gone up in price.
- 36:37But you know what's really interesting about this?
- 36:39Because they say that, and Tanya, you and I know because we've been doing some
- 36:43of our own independent research on new cars as of late, there is suddenly a glu.
- 36:49Cars starting at $25,000.
- 36:53That very quickly ramp up into the $40,000 sweet spot, which we talked about.
- 36:58Remember we did that whole episode on the, what can you buy for less
- 37:00than 50 grand in millennial gray?
- 37:03But there is a glut of cars in that space between 25 and 40,000.
- 37:08And they're not all terrible.
- 37:09They're not all great, but they're not all terrible either.
- 37:12I find this an interesting juxtaposition between what they're saying.
- 37:1574% of Americans say new cars aren't affordable.
- 37:19Is that because we're all bougie and we don't wanna drive the cars that exist
- 37:23in the 25 to $40,000 range now because they're considered too cheap and we all
- 37:27have to have some nice status symbol.
- 37:28Tesla set the bar.
- 37:30We all need to be driving whatever it is, 60,000 is the new 30,000.
- 37:35Because if that's the case, maybe we need to kind of look at things in a different
- 37:39lens, in a different light, because I think we're overlooking some really good
- 37:44cars that are actually quite affordable.
- 37:48Well, if you read further down into the article, they actually
- 37:51solved the problem for us.
- 37:53Oh, did they?
- 37:54Yeah.
- 37:54So they say that the real problem is that companies just don't
- 37:57pay their employees enough.
- 37:59It's okay that the car prices are so high, it's just people
- 38:02just need to make more money.
- 38:03What's that got to do with the price of T and yeah, it is just a
- 38:07way to make a political statement.
- 38:09Oh, well that's wah w If a majority of Americans only make, let's make up
- 38:17numbers, $70,000 a year and they have to go buy a car that costs $50,000.
- 38:23Yeah.
- 38:23How do they afford it?
- 38:25Yeah, but the new Sentra is like less than $30,000.
- 38:28So why wouldn't you go buy that to that point?
- 38:31You can still get something that's $20,000 or around, there
- 38:37is just going to be a toaster.
- 38:40You also don't have to buy a new, and that's just it.
- 38:43I mean, there are cars sitting on CarMax lots.
- 38:46That are reasonably price as well.
- 38:49And their stuff is generally pretty good quality because they're very selective
- 38:53on what they sell and what they get rid of and all that kind of stuff.
- 38:56Why not buy a car that's a couple years old that's already been broken
- 38:59in, that might have been already through all the warranty stuff and
- 39:01all the recalls and all the nonsense.
- 39:03Find yourself a car with 10,000 miles on it or less, call it a day.
- 39:08I don't know, because people can't do anything anymore.
- 39:11Like, I mean, because you think you're gonna do more with a brand new car.
- 39:15No, I mean, like if you go back in time, cars were simpler.
- 39:19Yeah.
- 39:20But people still didn't, like you could buy a used car and if you
- 39:23could probably do your, you know, some of your own maintenance.
- 39:27But nowadays people don't have an interest.
- 39:30Well, and they've made the cars impossible to work on without, even
- 39:34if you had an interest, you'd need a PhD to, uh, unlock the brake caliber.
- 39:38Yeah.
- 39:39There's that.
- 39:39Yeah.
- 39:40And stuff like that.
- 39:40I mean, I don't know because.
- 39:42Yes, there's inflation.
- 39:43The price of everything is high.
- 39:46Salaries haven't necessarily kept up.
- 39:49One could argue, but you could make that argument probably 20 years ago too.
- 39:54That is very true.
- 39:55That is very true.
- 39:56I mean, if you compare a car with fuel injection to something with
- 39:58the carburetor that was space, age technology, fuel injection.
- 40:02Why?
- 40:02Why I can't put a screwdriver in there and change my settings and
- 40:06make it run rich or make it run lean, like, no, you couldn't do that.
- 40:09It was computer controlled.
- 40:10Right?
- 40:10That was the future.
- 40:11It's been an evolution for sure, but I think at the end of the day, if you're
- 40:15shopping for a car right now, I wouldn't discount a car Max or a used car that
- 40:20was from a reputable source, because if you think about it, despite the fact
- 40:24you're gonna get a three year, 36,000 mile warranty, that seems to be the
- 40:28going rate for any new car these days, which is not a lot because the way
- 40:32people are driving still, you're gonna blow through 36,000 miles in no time.
- 40:36Let's be fair.
- 40:37If you had a reputable shop to work on your car, their hourly rate is still
- 40:42lower than that of the dealership.
- 40:44Once you're out of warranty, taking your car to the dealer is insane.
- 40:48You go to the Honda dealer, it's $150 an hour, at least
- 40:51you know your local mechanic.
- 40:53Okay.
- 40:53Maybe it's a hundred.
- 40:55So you're saving even there if you've gotta, you know, do any maintenance on
- 40:59the car and you can't do it yourself.
- 41:00So there's something to be said about still buying a used car, but I, I don't
- 41:04think you buy the one with 285,000 miles, you buy the one with 28,000 miles.
- 41:10I mean, this goes into something we've talked about numerous
- 41:13times on the drive-thru.
- 41:14Don't buy a car if you don't have to.
- 41:17Yeah, there's that as well.
- 41:18And I had many friends that did it, and I tried to keep up with the Joneses too.
- 41:22It's, you get into this cycle of like trading up your car every two
- 41:27years or whatever, every three years.
- 41:29It's almost like a lease mentality when you don't have a lease.
- 41:33You're just creating problems for yourself.
- 41:35If you don't need to get rid of the car, then don't get rid of the car.
- 41:38Just because you want, if you just want a new car to get a new car,
- 41:42that's not a reason to get a new car.
- 41:43That's fair.
- 41:44And you know, you're touching on something that John Summers also talks about on some
- 41:48of the other episodes he does by himself, where he goes to these seminars out in
- 41:52California where he sits in and he listens to these lectures on these companies that
- 41:56are building autonomous vehicles and all these new EVs and all this kinda stuff.
- 42:00And the paradigm shift that's occurring in that space.
- 42:04Because if Johnny Cab is the future, none of us will own cars.
- 42:08We'll be calling up our little Johnny cab and it'll come and get us and or we'll
- 42:12lease the car so it sits in our driveway and then it takes us where we wanna go.
- 42:16But when the car needs to be repaired or replaced.
- 42:19That's on Waymo or Google or whoever owns the car at that time, you know,
- 42:23manufactures the car at that time to do the service and the repairs and all that.
- 42:28But what's interesting about that, and I think the big block that everybody's
- 42:31forgetting is when you shift to that new way of doing business, insurance
- 42:37companies are out of business.
- 42:39Mm-hmm.
- 42:40Right.
- 42:41Geico and Allstate and Jake from State Farm aren't gonna let that happen
- 42:46because they wanna make their money too.
- 42:47Then who are they insuring?
- 42:49I'm not driving.
- 42:49I, I'm just a passenger, so that's great.
- 42:52I got a ton of money in my pocket at that point.
- 42:54But then you need passenger insurance.
- 42:56Exactly.
- 42:57That's what it'll become.
- 42:58It'll become like whoever it is, Waymo or whatever, they'll become the insurer.
- 43:02It's like when you go to work, your employer provides you subsidized health
- 43:07insurance, but you pay a part into that.
- 43:08So now I don't own the car, but I'm taking part in this business.
- 43:12Yeah.
- 43:13Therefore, now I have to pay into the insurance of them.
- 43:18Right.
- 43:18And then they'll probably charge high premiums to Waymo or whoever, and
- 43:22then that just gets passed on to you.
- 43:24So you'll be paying for insurance on something you don't own because
- 43:27you are a passenger in there.
- 43:29So it's like renter's insurance basically.
- 43:31Yeah, you need to pay for passenger's protection because
- 43:34after all you got in that Waymo.
- 43:36And if you hadn't chosen to get in that Waymo then it wouldn't have been on
- 43:40the road at the time of an incident.
- 43:42Now I will say, Brad, to your point, if you've ever ridden in a
- 43:45cab in DC or New York, you almost wanna have passenger insurance.
- 43:49'cause that is legit scary.
- 43:50Yeah,
- 43:53you're taking your life into your own hands.
- 43:54You really are.
- 43:55Like you need to up your life insurance every time you get in a cab in Manhattan.
- 43:58But yeah, so there, there's definitely a paradigm shift there as well.
- 44:02But the problem is if we ever get to that dystopia that they're
- 44:06creating, there's gonna be a weird period where all of this overlaps
- 44:11and it's gonna be the most chaotic nonsense that we've ever experienced.
- 44:16And I hope it all happens like after we're gone, because I really don't
- 44:19wanna have to suffer through it.
- 44:21It's bad enough as it is.
- 44:22Anyway, new car prices, ugh.
- 44:25Lost found is all about digging up stuff that we haven't seen before
- 44:29or, you know, we've forgotten about.
- 44:31I keep saying this, how many more barns are there full of cars in this world?
- 44:39I feel like, you know, the fours of Horizon games where you drive around,
- 44:42you know, looking for the barn.
- 44:44Another, it's got another classic car.
- 44:45Like here we go again, another barn full of cars.
- 44:48Well, this time it's a barn full of sobs and I'm looking at your face.
- 44:54Yeah, I don't even know that I'm that interested in the sobs.
- 44:57I'm actually more interested in this barn.
- 44:59Like how did they get the cars up there?
- 45:02Where is this barn Like, tell me more about this bar.
- 45:05Well, they show you in, in the video, they have a forklift, so
- 45:09that's how they got 'em up there.
- 45:11I mean, it's pretty cool, right?
- 45:12I mean, they're up in the air.
- 45:14If you drove by this barn you were sniffing around, you wouldn't
- 45:17even know these sobs were here.
- 45:18This is a big barn.
- 45:20How many cars are in there?
- 45:21Like 20 plus easily, right?
- 45:23Yeah.
- 45:25So I teased this up earlier.
- 45:26We're talking about you, you brought up peak cars.
- 45:29You know, we're talking about the eighties and the nineties in another post that,
- 45:33because you know, you go down a rabbit hole sometimes when you find this stuff.
- 45:36Another post SOB 900 is the most underrated iconic car
- 45:41of the eighties and nineties.
- 45:42Is that right?
- 45:43Is that a missed opportunity?
- 45:45I don't know enough about them to comment.
- 45:48I've driven one in my life.
- 45:51It was an ugly green color and it was as quirky on the inside as is on the outside.
- 45:56It was very strange to drive very quirky vehicles.
- 45:59I, I mean, I thought French cars were weird and then I drove a sob, right?
- 46:03It was just like, why is the key on the floor?
- 46:06Like, what are we, that's where you put it.
- 46:08Like it makes, no, there's some weird stuff that just makes no sense.
- 46:12I think their whole thing is 'cause they were designed by like aerospace engineers.
- 46:17Yeah.
- 46:17Born from jets.
- 46:18So they tried to take cues from like aviation and stuff like that.
- 46:22That's not practical.
- 46:24Oh.
- 46:24That's why 99% of all the other car manufacturers didn't do that.
- 46:30Bizarre.
- 46:30Although, you know, I will say with wiser eyes, looking at
- 46:34the SOB 900, I like its shape.
- 46:36It's grown on me quite a bit.
- 46:38There is one I see in in the city every now and again and I'm
- 46:41like, it's in Black 900 Turbo.
- 46:43And I'm just like, that's a cool car.
- 46:46It really is kind of cool.
- 46:47Then you remember how quirky it is and you're like, yeah, it's,
- 46:50it's like not cool anymore.
- 46:52I always thought the SOB 900 was a very weird looking nine 11.
- 46:58Tell me I'm wrong.
- 47:00No you're not.
- 47:00You're not wrong at all.
- 47:02Yeah.
- 47:02It just looks like a very odd looking nine 11 because I used
- 47:06to, there was a guy in my.
- 47:07In my neighborhood in elementary school that it would park, it was
- 47:10parked on the street all the time.
- 47:12And I would look at it and I was like, what the f is that?
- 47:15The nine 11 looks really funny.
- 47:17Yeah.
- 47:18All right.
- 47:19We don't have any uncool wall, no Tesla gate for our season kickoff.
- 47:22Brad, I'll give you three guesses what Tanya's gonna say for the next question.
- 47:26Um, the answer is yes.
- 47:30She did not watch the F1 movie.
- 47:32Come on.
- 47:32Are you serious?
- 47:34That's, sorry, that's just wishful thinking.
- 47:37Nope.
- 47:37But I will have watched it by the next episode.
- 47:42We got close the other day.
- 47:43I was like, Hey, you wanna watch it?
- 47:45And she was like, uh, how long is the movie?
- 47:49And then I brought it up and then just literally like, walked out of my house.
- 47:52Like did, it was like, duh.
- 47:54So if she has not watched it by the weekend, I come up
- 47:57there, we're gonna watch it.
- 47:59I'm gonna, we're gonna tie her into a chair and make her sit there and watch it.
- 48:03Clockwork Orange style.
- 48:05Yes.
- 48:07So Tanya be, if you're around that weekend, you better be prepared.
- 48:11It is two and a half hours of your life.
- 48:13You'll never get back.
- 48:14Yeah.
- 48:15But like 20 minutes of it is credits.
- 48:18Or Brad Pitt on a motorcycle, one or the other, or Brad Pitt on a motorcycle
- 48:22doing his weird talk days of thunder too.
- 48:25That's what it is.
- 48:25Yeah.
- 48:25Days thunder too.
- 48:27You mentioned some rich people.
- 48:28Thanks.
- 48:29Earlier we talked about the N 74.
- 48:31We talked about those other cars.
- 48:33But Brad, you dug this for Tanya and I couldn't help but start laughing at this.
- 48:39Oh yeah.
- 48:40Bugatti debuted a zero horsepower Bugatti factor one.
- 48:46Can you guess what it is?
- 48:47No.
- 48:47What is that?
- 48:48Is it a, it's not like another baby two or one of those go-kart things.
- 48:51Is it It is a set of roller blades.
- 48:53No, it's a, it's a road bike.
- 48:55It's a bicycle.
- 48:57Hence the, uh, the zero horsepower for the low, low price of,
- 49:01for the low, low price of 24.
- 49:06Thousand dollars.
- 49:08Oh, brutal.
- 49:10So how much are you paying per horsepower?
- 49:15Can people actually make equivalent horsepower?
- 49:18Has that ever been measured?
- 49:20How much horsepower does a Olympic cyclist make?
- 49:24Is that a thing?
- 49:25So according to ai, an Olympic cyclist typically generates between 0.4 and
- 49:34and three horsepower.
- 49:36Wait, what did you say their answer was?
- 49:390.4 to three horsepower.
- 49:420.4 to three three would be a lot.
- 49:45That's for like the elite of the elite.
- 49:48Yeah.
- 49:48That's a lot.
- 49:49'cause you used to have to convert watts to horsepower.
- 49:53Yeah.
- 49:53Somewhere in 0.1 to a, a very normal person is probably not even 0.3.
- 50:02Yeah.
- 50:03I wonder if I could generate more horsepower for a very
- 50:07much shorter amount of time.
- 50:09Well, you got bigger pistons.
- 50:10Yeah, I got bigger pistons.
- 50:11I've got I I more displacement.
- 50:14You're like a V eight.
- 50:15She's like a turbo four.
- 50:17I mean Yeah, exactly.
- 50:19You got all them torque.
- 50:20SI, yeah, I I can probably generate a lot of torque.
- 50:23That's true.
- 50:25Unless you're really stroking.
- 50:27Wait, are you having a stroke?
- 50:35Someone check my air Fuel?
- 50:37Yeah.
- 50:37You, your, your, your air fuel mixture would be, you'd be running
- 50:41lean, you'd be out of breath.
- 50:45Oh my God.
- 50:48Oh, man.
- 50:49I'm sorry, ma'am.
- 50:50You're gonna have to go for an inspection.
- 50:52Your methane levels are off.
- 50:54You need a new catalytic converter.
- 50:56I'd be cur, I'd be curious.
- 50:58Now, I'd have to look.
- 51:00I could probably hit 0.3 horsepower, but not very long Horsepower.
- 51:04I feel like this is, this is a challenge.
- 51:06We gotta, we gotta find a way to get this done.
- 51:09Oh man.
- 51:10I wonder if you could do that on a bike trainer and figure it out.
- 51:12Yeah.
- 51:13'cause I can, I can see, I can do a power run and see my wattage
- 51:17and just convert it to horsepower.
- 51:18All right.
- 51:19You do that and you let us know next time.
- 51:21I'll put a note for the next drive.
- 51:22How much horsepower does Tanya make?
- 51:26And for how long?
- 51:27Yeah.
- 51:27Oh, ooh, ooh.
- 51:30Yeah.
- 51:30So if you want to decrease the ratio of dollars per horsepower,
- 51:37you just gotta be a better athlete.
- 51:39So that means this is false advertising because you can make up the three
- 51:42horsepower if you provide it yourself.
- 51:45Yeah.
- 51:47This is B-B-Y-O-H-P.
- 51:51So it is a non-zero number is what we're saying.
- 51:54This can actually produce a non-zero number because I love the sub quote here.
- 52:00The Bugatti factor one isn't powered by horsepower at all, but by pure
- 52:04human effort, making it one of the most unexpected Bugatti vehicles ever created.
- 52:10Who comes up with this marketing nonsense?
- 52:13Uh, and don't forget, if you're looking for that extra special automobile to
- 52:17complete your garage office den or man cave, be sure to check out garage style
- 52:23magazine.com for a list of upcoming auctions and events, along with a curated
- 52:27list of items going up for sale all over the country, because after all,
- 52:31what doesn't belong in your garage.
- 52:34All right, well, let's switch gears and go to, are you faster than an Interceptor?
- 52:53I found this article to be a bit of a boomerang because we're coming back to
- 52:58a story we reported on a couple years ago on the drive through, and it's
- 53:02about how the Austrians were switching over to EVs as their police cars.
- 53:08Well, Austria has decided that they are going to pull the plug on EV police cars.
- 53:14I would just like to say that I appreciate.
- 53:17The author of this article who succinctly summarized in three bullet
- 53:22points at the top of the article.
- 53:24Mm-hmm.
- 53:25In the first bullet point, Austrian police found EVs unsuitable for general
- 53:29patrols due to range in charging issues.
- 53:31That saved me from reading and reading and reading and reading and reading.
- 53:34So thank you for that.
- 53:35Yeah, it does go on for a long time.
- 53:37I bet AI did that.
- 53:40Maybe that's how I'm gonna do the drive through.
- 53:43I'm gonna take each article, run it through AI and say,
- 53:46gimme the bullet points.
- 53:47You still won't be any more prepared than you are now.
- 53:50Nope.
- 53:50'cause I'm gonna forget I said this and then we're gonna
- 53:53come back to next, next month.
- 53:55Brad, since we're kicking things off, let's actually kick off
- 53:59Tanya's Florida demand section here.
- 54:02With a proper Florida man story, not totally related to cars, but
- 54:06you sent us this one and I could not help but want to reshare it.
- 54:09Why don't you read us what this one's about?
- 54:12So you gotta take this with a grain of salt.
- 54:14No, I don't.
- 54:15As I was saying to Tanya earlier, I get a lot of posts and news and stories and
- 54:20stuff on social media and I have no idea without fact checking if any of this
- 54:26stuff is real or AI generated or whatever.
- 54:28I'm gonna read the caption though.
- 54:30A Florida man was arrested for attempting to baptize an alligator in a waffle
- 54:35house using a picture of iced tea
- 54:41on here every time.
- 54:42Yeah.
- 54:43Miami-Dade County, Florida.
- 54:45So down in, down in southern Florida.
- 54:47What witnesses are calling the most Waffle House moment in history?
- 54:51Florida man was arrested after allegedly attending to baptize
- 54:54a live alligator inside a wall house using a picture ice team.
- 54:57I heard a story which was allegedly true from someone I met from Florida that said
- 55:03they had seen somebody throw an alligator, like I guess a baby alligator out.
- 55:08They had it in their car, threw a Wendy's drive through window.
- 55:12So I mean, anything is possible.
- 55:15Anything is possible in Florida.
- 55:16So I don't believe this is real.
- 55:19'cause the hashtags are funny.
- 55:21Comedy F book lifestyle satire for entertainment only.
- 55:24So I think this is like a, this is like the onion.
- 55:27Yeah.
- 55:27I think the Snopes fact check that as being not true.
- 55:31I think it was staged.
- 55:33Yeah.
- 55:33I want it to be true though.
- 55:35Really do, it could be true.
- 55:37That's the reality.
- 55:39I think still the killer is the old man with the leaf blower trying
- 55:42to blow himself down the road on the, in the wheelchair, like.
- 55:45That for me is one of the best Florida man memories.
- 55:48I don't know.
- 55:49The guy that lit his Malibu on fire with candles is pretty good too.
- 55:52That was like the first drive through episode.
- 55:55I love that Florida is so bonkers that we can't actually definitively say if
- 56:00some of these stories are real or not.
- 56:02Right.
- 56:03All right.
- 56:04Well Tanya, what do you have here on the list?
- 56:07Well, the first one, I don't know why that link doesn't work anymore, but
- 56:10apparently this person was a transporter and he was transporting some guys.
- 56:16Porsche and his two scooters, and then decided that he needed to go to the DMV to
- 56:22renew his license and his car wouldn't do.
- 56:25So he took the Porsche that wasn't his.
- 56:28And the owner I think had some sort of tracking on it and could realize
- 56:32that it wasn't on the trailer, but it was like driving around somewhere.
- 56:35Oh no.
- 56:37Needless to say he was arrested.
- 56:39LoJack to the rescue.
- 56:40Note to self, you're transporting your car.
- 56:43Put some ear tags or something in it.
- 56:45Yeah, no kidding.
- 56:46This next one though is even better.
- 56:48So the title is.
- 56:50Florida man doing 101 in a 55 trying to quote, avoid an animal.
- 56:59The dude got pulled over and told deputy he was speeding to
- 57:03avoid an animal in the roadway.
- 57:04Under what circumstances?
- 57:06Does that make sense?
- 57:07Were you being chased by a cheetah?
- 57:09By an ostrich?
- 57:10They could do 45 miles an hour.
- 57:12A cheetah can do a hundred, right?
- 57:1580 or something like that At full tilt.
- 57:17Yeah.
- 57:17So a cheetah can do about 55, I think.
- 57:1970. They can do 70.
- 57:21Sorry.
- 57:22Does he say what he was avoiding?
- 57:23Was it a squirrel like or is an alligator?
- 57:26It was himself.
- 57:28Now the real question, what was he driving?
- 57:31I know, and it doesn't say, all it says is dark four-door sedan.
- 57:36What do we think it is?
- 57:37Ultima?
- 57:38It had to have been, had to have been Ultima.
- 57:40I mean, it doesn't look like a a, it looks like an infinity interior.
- 57:44They don't show it.
- 57:45You found a picture?
- 57:47Oh no, sorry, I'm looking at the, the, I'm getting tripped up by the, the body cam.
- 57:51Yeah, yeah.
- 57:52No, that's, that's a Olympian.
- 57:54Shakar.
- 57:54Richardson's getting pulled over, huh?
- 57:56Yeah.
- 57:57Can we actually use this excuse, excuse me, officer, but I was evading an animal.
- 58:01I'm sorry, officer.
- 58:02There was a squirrel.
- 58:04I was being chased by a hippopotamus.
- 58:06Don't they do like 25 mile an hour?
- 58:07Was it like Jurassic Park?
- 58:09It was a T-Rex.
- 58:11Those seem pretty fast.
- 58:12Little alarm.
- 58:13I'm sorry, officer.
- 58:14I was speeding.
- 58:14To avoid the police.
- 58:16I don't know that, that carries a lot of weight.
- 58:18I, I, I was running from a pig.
- 58:20Jesus Christ.
- 58:21Before we wrap out this Florida man segment, just a little sneak peek.
- 58:26Into season seven of Break Fix.
- 58:28We have an author coming on the show here in the next couple of months.
- 58:32His name is Jesse Fresco.
- 58:33I met him at Awesome Con down in DC where I happened to bump into Max Kaiserman
- 58:38from losing Replicas who was down there.
- 58:40We can talk about that another time.
- 58:42But he has this new little novella series, calls it the Autumn Frost Story series,
- 58:48and the very first one takes place in the DMV and it's called Drive Like Hell.
- 58:54And then there's gonna be a whole series of these novellas.
- 58:56And so I just wanna read you a little bit of what it says here.
- 59:00It says, autumn Frost never wanted much out of life.
- 59:03A nice home in Annapolis, A decent job to live comfortably, someone to
- 59:07love to wake up to every morning.
- 59:09But life had other plans while out on her rounds is a two in from
- 59:13driver, that means Uber or Lyft.
- 59:15She picks up a hysterical young girl who's being chased by her boyfriend
- 59:18with a gun as they speed off.
- 59:19The girl admits that in her backpack is two pounds of fentanyl.
- 59:24From that point on, the girl's boyfriend is after them.
- 59:26A drug ring is after them.
- 59:27A sociopath hit man and the cops, all of it is up to Autumn
- 59:31Frost to drive like hell.
- 59:33I'm excited for this and this actually leads into some other books
- 59:36that Jesse has written, so really excited to have like proper Florida
- 59:40man author coming on the show.
- 59:42So look forward to that as the season progresses.
- 59:46But you can pick up a copy of Jesse Fresco's books today if you're interested.
- 59:51Well on that, it's time we go behind the pit wall and quickly
- 59:54talk about commercial news.
- 59:57The 2026 LAMA entry list has been posted really early compared to previous years.
- 1:00:04Have you guys looked at this yet?
- 1:00:06No.
- 1:00:0762 cars Uhhuh across three classes.
- 1:00:11Okay.
- 1:00:1118 cars in hypercar.
- 1:00:1419 in LMP two.
- 1:00:16The rest of them in LM GT three.
- 1:00:18What is this race again?
- 1:00:20June.
- 1:00:20June is Father's Day.
- 1:00:21It's always Father's Day.
- 1:00:22I don't think it's actually Father's Day weekend this year, is it not?
- 1:00:25It's always like the longest day of summer, June 13th.
- 1:00:28So here we go, hypercar, which is the only class anybody cares about.
- 1:00:32Aston Martin with the Valkyrie Toyota with the new TRO one Oh that we talked about.
- 1:00:38Cadillac, BMW, Genesis Magma, S Magma.
- 1:00:44Alpine Ferrari eo.
- 1:00:48That's a hell of a lineup.
- 1:00:49So Porsche is out.
- 1:00:51Porsche is out officially of Lama.
- 1:00:53We skip over LMP two because they're all orcas with Gibson engine.
- 1:00:57So whatever.
- 1:00:58And then we get to LMGT three and we're looking at Corvette, McLaren, Ferrari,
- 1:01:02Aston, BMW, Mercedes Ford, Lexus, and two private tier nine elevens.
- 1:01:09So Porsche is out out of LAMA for 2026.
- 1:01:14Other than the two private tier cars, can you believe it?
- 1:01:18When was the last time Porsche didn't run in Lama?
- 1:01:21Well, they stopped for a couple years when Toyota kept winning.
- 1:01:25Why are the Iron Dames programs scaled back?
- 1:01:28That, I don't know.
- 1:01:29I had heard rumors, something there was changing as well.
- 1:01:32They were getting a different card, different series or something like that.
- 1:01:35Maybe I, and I don't wanna say getting out altogether, but there
- 1:01:38was definitely some changes afoot, but I never dug into it more.
- 1:01:41The Iron links, the men's version of the Iron Dames, they're still in it.
- 1:01:45Why is there a men's version?
- 1:01:46The rest of it's men's version, that's how they split it up.
- 1:01:49The dynamic makes no sense to me either.
- 1:01:51I don't see Jackie Chan racing either.
- 1:01:53No.
- 1:01:54Jackie Chan's been out for quite a while.
- 1:01:55My,
- 1:01:58and it's funny you bring that up.
- 1:01:59I got to interview Jackie Chan.
- 1:02:01No, I got to interview Ricky Taylor and he talks about racing for Jackie Chan.
- 1:02:05I don't know if you remember or not.
- 1:02:06He was one of the drivers for Jackie Chan racing in LMP two.
- 1:02:09You interviewed Ricky or Jordan?
- 1:02:11I've interviewed both of them, but when I interviewed Ricky, Ricky was talking
- 1:02:15about how he raced for Jackie Chan now.
- 1:02:17He never got to meet him, but he got to be part of the program
- 1:02:20and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:02:21So that was pretty cool.
- 1:02:21Interesting.
- 1:02:22That's cool.
- 1:02:23So yeah, they announced the full roster of cars that are gonna
- 1:02:26be running at LAMA this year.
- 1:02:28I'm still excited even if Porsche's not there.
- 1:02:30I'm really curious to see what Hyundai does with the Genesis magma
- 1:02:34and how Aston does and all that.
- 1:02:37But it's, I'm worried for Ferrari.
- 1:02:40Uh, again, I've said they need to leave on a high.
- 1:02:43Ford is not here.
- 1:02:44I would hate to see Ferrari lose to Ford, so maybe they'll get out before the
- 1:02:49getting out is is not good, you know, but Ford is supposed to come by next year,
- 1:02:53right is, is what they said by 2027.
- 1:02:55So we'll see this list change again, but I think this might be the first time
- 1:03:01we've ever seen a Korean brand at the 24 hour lama, so that's pretty historic
- 1:03:06in and of itself, so pretty cool stuff.
- 1:03:09Oh, by the way, last time we talked about the FIA WEC tv, since we're talking about
- 1:03:13watching the 24 hours of LAMA, and we didn't know what it was going to cost.
- 1:03:17They did finally announce their pricing.
- 1:03:20It's 49 euros.
- 1:03:22You gotta do the conversion there.
- 1:03:2349 euros a year.
- 1:03:25So I thought that was not terrible.
- 1:03:26So you get the entire WEC series and the 24 hours lama through
- 1:03:30the FIA WEC TV plus subscription.
- 1:03:33It's cheaper than what the F1 used to be.
- 1:03:35Oh yeah, that's true.
- 1:03:36Now we pay the Apple tax instead.
- 1:03:38And in some sad news, motor sports legend Bobul passed away on March the 16th.
- 1:03:46Now some of you might be asking who?
- 1:03:49Bob Bobul.
- 1:03:49Who's that?
- 1:03:50I, I, I might have heard that name before.
- 1:03:52Well, you probably had, because TIUs famous for creating group 44 racing back
- 1:03:59in the 1960s and campaigning cars like the infamous group, 44 Jags at the 24 hours
- 1:04:05of Lama and the Audi Quatros that ran in the United States in both TransAm and ISA
- 1:04:11in the late eighties and early nineties.
- 1:04:13So.
- 1:04:14An icon in the Motorsport world passed away just a couple
- 1:04:18weeks ago, so sad to see it.
- 1:04:19He lived a long life.
- 1:04:21Nine five.
- 1:04:22Yeah.
- 1:04:23He's up there with Robert Deval now they're having some ice cream.
- 1:04:26That's ice cream with Newman.
- 1:04:28That's right.
- 1:04:30Our Motorsport News is brought to you in part by Enduro verse,
- 1:04:32powered by Hyper dev, America's premier endurance racing community.
- 1:04:36Check it out online and become a member@www.endurreverse.com.
- 1:04:45Alright, well switching gears to the GTM track side report.
- 1:04:48As you guys know, we're doing a lemons build for the 24 hours of
- 1:04:52Lemon series this season, and we wanted to give you an update on
- 1:04:56our unfocused performance project.
- 1:04:58The car's back, so what's next?
- 1:05:01One of the toughest things so far outside of the ridiculous cost for
- 1:05:06safety equipment has actually been trying to find parts for the Ford,
- 1:05:11and especially something that's the equivalent of ECS tuning or FCP Euro.
- 1:05:16We've talked about it behind the scenes and I don't think we ever
- 1:05:18realize how good we have it with the German stuff until you go look
- 1:05:23for parts to work on something else.
- 1:05:25Like how easy we have it that you can go to an ECS tuning and get everything for
- 1:05:29anything going back, put in your part numbers order from the Black forest.
- 1:05:33You need this specialty that they keep making new parts for old cars.
- 1:05:37The Ford, it's just, it's, the struggle is real.
- 1:05:40Like if you're not getting it in advance, you're not getting it
- 1:05:42anywhere kind of thing, you know?
- 1:05:43And, and thank goodness for places like Speedway Motors and Rock Auto and Jags and
- 1:05:48stuff like that where you can get stuff.
- 1:05:50You'd think with something like a Ford focus, it'd be a lot easier to
- 1:05:53get parts for it's un unexciting.
- 1:05:55No wonder you all don't make cars anymore and just trucks
- 1:06:01because there's no aftermarket for it, right?
- 1:06:03But with as many of those cars as they sold and the popularity of hot
- 1:06:06hatches and stuff like that, you would think there would be more places.
- 1:06:09Now we're very fortunate.
- 1:06:10One of the guys on the team brought us a website, FS Works, and that is a sort
- 1:06:15of like a Euro tuning ECS kind of thing.
- 1:06:18And we've been able to find some parts on there that look like,
- 1:06:21hey, we can actually use that.
- 1:06:22It might be track worthy and it's not just some, you know, street
- 1:06:25racer parts or whatever, looking to find more of that kind of stuff.
- 1:06:28So if any of our listeners out there know of places to get high performance
- 1:06:32forward parts, especially for a focus, let us know, send us a note, hit
- 1:06:36us up on Discord, whatever, because again, we're having those challenges,
- 1:06:39sourcing the stuff we need that is track worthy to make sure that the car is
- 1:06:43reliable going throughout the season.
- 1:06:45Unfortunately because we had some setbacks timing wise, getting all the fabrication
- 1:06:50work done and all that kind of thing, we are going to be missing our first event.
- 1:06:54We were supposed to be going to mid Ohio.
- 1:06:56We were not able to register in time 'cause the car is not ready.
- 1:06:59There's still a ton of stuff to do.
- 1:07:01We gotta put a clutch in it just to make sure that it is again, turnkey, reliable.
- 1:07:05'cause the last thing you wanna do is go to this race and the thing
- 1:07:09dies on you 20 minutes later.
- 1:07:10So stuff like that's gotta get done.
- 1:07:13People are still asking, you know, how can we help?
- 1:07:15Well, a couple different ways you can help.
- 1:07:17You can come and hang out, you can turn wrenches if you want, stuff like that.
- 1:07:20But the one thing that goes the longest is if you've got a couple extra bucks
- 1:07:23to spare, even if it buys us gas or we put it towards tires or whatever,
- 1:07:27we do have a specials tier on Patreon.
- 1:07:30You can go to patreon.com/gt motorsports and sign up to contribute and help
- 1:07:34sponsor our lemons team so we can get to our first event safely,
- 1:07:39reliably, and be able to report back on what the experience is like.
- 1:07:42So our first event shifted from Mid-Ohio.
- 1:07:46Two New Jersey.
- 1:07:47We're gonna be running Thunderbolt in June.
- 1:07:48One of my favorite tracks.
- 1:07:50It's an awesome lap.
- 1:07:51So looking forward to having the car ready to go by mid-June for the NJMP event.
- 1:07:56So we'll see you there.
- 1:07:57And then the plan from that point forward will be Summit Point and I am hoping
- 1:08:04to go to Road Atlanta in December.
- 1:08:06'cause that sounds like a lot of fun.
- 1:08:08We've been there before.
- 1:08:10We know what that's like.
- 1:08:11I think that's worth the tow to go down there and do that.
- 1:08:14And then maybe if there's enough money, it'd be cool to do Nelson
- 1:08:17Ledges or one of the other tracks in the middle of the summer, but we just
- 1:08:20gotta have to see how things play out.
- 1:08:22But New Jersey for sure, and June, and then Summit Point as well.
- 1:08:26So looking forward to it.
- 1:08:27And if you're not quite ready to hit the track, don't forget that you can find tons
- 1:08:31of upcoming local shows and events at the ultimate reference for car enthusiasts.

- 1:10:13It's deeper than mine.
- 1:10:16That's what she said.

- 1:10:44Oh my God, it is outro, outro, outro.
- 1:10:47Air, fuel, nail pipe test remain.

- 1:10:55There you go, deep.
