- 0:14Speaker 1: the goal line. He throws it into the end zone.

- 0:21Speaker 1: the end zone. Our ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpas,

- 0:33Speaker 1: At the forty five waits to the staff, Michael Dickson
- 0:36Speaker 1: puts it down. That kick is away, and that kick

- 0:56Speaker 1: Night football. The Seahawks win it overtime and Jason Meyers,
- 1:01Speaker 1: what a game? What a folks. This is Hog Talk,
- 1:05Speaker 1: the recap edition. I'm your host, Michael Bumpus. You heard it.
- 1:08Speaker 1: From Raves himself. The Hogs get it done down in
- 1:11Speaker 1: Callie Monday night, fullball, over time, resilient group and like always,
- 1:16Speaker 1: we're bringing in the big dog, Big Ray. How you doing.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Oh all right, big dog, how are you doing? You know, hey,
- 1:22Speaker 1: I'm just riding the way right now, baby, riding the way.
- 1:25Speaker 1: And so what I mean, what are your initial thoughts
- 1:29Speaker 1: from this game last night? You know what, after the
- 1:31Speaker 1: game last night, I was trying to really think about,
- 1:33Speaker 1: like what was the defining moment of the game for me?
- 1:37Speaker 1: And it really was just how the Daveon Clowney just
- 1:40Speaker 1: took over the game. To me, he was the difference
- 1:43Speaker 1: in the game. He was what we were expecting to
- 1:46Speaker 1: have when we traded for him. And then that also
- 1:49Speaker 1: lifted up the whole play of the defensive line. Al
- 1:51Speaker 1: Woods had five or six tackles in the facts County
- 1:55Speaker 1: had you know, five quarterback hits, ten quarterback pressures of
- 2:00Speaker 1: bumble recovery for a touchdown, a sack fumble. So he really,
- 2:04Speaker 1: to me, he really showed every ounce of talent and
- 2:09Speaker 1: ability that he has that we hadn't seen yet. And
- 2:11Speaker 1: to me, that was the difference in the game. And
- 2:14Speaker 1: to me, that's what the you know, obviously, the game
- 2:16Speaker 1: going back and forth and over time it's been against
- 2:18Speaker 1: San Francisco and Richard Sherman and Russell Wilson and all
- 2:21Speaker 1: that kind of stuff was all part of it. But
- 2:23Speaker 1: for me, Jadeveon Clowney really arrived in Seattle last night
- 2:29Speaker 1: most definitely. Did you see any changes in the scheme
- 2:33Speaker 1: defensively with the Hawks last night? Well, to me, it
- 2:37Speaker 1: looks like they were there playing tighter to the receivers.
- 2:40Speaker 1: They're jamming the box with about eight guys in the
- 2:43Speaker 1: box to shut down the run game, to really make
- 2:45Speaker 1: Garoppolo beat them. And if you look at Garoppolos stats
- 2:49Speaker 1: we're talking about him last night, I think it was
- 2:50Speaker 1: three for seventeen beyond ten yards with one interception. Seven
- 2:55Speaker 1: of his you know, twenty four completions or were behind
- 3:00Speaker 1: Delna Scrimator after Lina scremaate. So they really did a
- 3:03Speaker 1: good job of limiting him and really exposing, you know,
- 3:06Speaker 1: some of his weaknesses. And I think that's where the
- 3:08Speaker 1: Seahawks made the adjustments on defense. And uh and you
- 3:12Speaker 1: know we did see a couple of corner blitzeres tray
- 3:15Speaker 1: full hours I think he had a sack, so they
- 3:17Speaker 1: did do have a few different wrinkles that they hadn't done,
- 3:20Speaker 1: i probably since the preseason, and so they brought him
- 3:23Speaker 1: out for this game and they were impactful. I know.
- 3:26Speaker 1: One of the matchups I was watching, I'm sure you
- 3:28Speaker 1: were too, was Dwayne Brown versus Nick Bosa. There are
- 3:30Speaker 1: a couple of times where it got frustrated and spun inside.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Do you think Duwayne Brown did what he was supposed
- 3:35Speaker 1: to do against that young cat man? Dwayne Brown was
- 3:39Speaker 1: an eracer last night because we didn't hear Nick Bosa's
- 3:43Speaker 1: name at all. He had so much hype coming into
- 3:45Speaker 1: the game, and rightfully so he was He's having a
- 3:48Speaker 1: great year. But Dwayne shut him down. I think he
- 3:51Speaker 1: had three solo tackles and maybe one quarterback hurry, but
- 3:56Speaker 1: that was all for him the whole night. But that
- 3:58Speaker 1: that speaks to is how how dominant and how important
- 4:02Speaker 1: it is to have Dwayne Brown on the top of
- 4:04Speaker 1: the line. The dude just shut down his whole side
- 4:06Speaker 1: of the of the line of scrimmage. And then he
- 4:08Speaker 1: also had a good a couple of good pulls around
- 4:12Speaker 1: to the outside where he led Carson around the edge.
- 4:15Speaker 1: So that looked like a healthier Duyne than we've seen
- 4:18Speaker 1: all season. The Hawks did a lot of great things
- 4:21Speaker 1: last night. They also compromise themselves a couple of times.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Are you concerned with how many times the football was
- 4:27Speaker 1: put in the ground? Yeah? And if you listen to
- 4:29Speaker 1: the press conference to Pete was a little frustrated with it.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I think that you know, they Since I've been covering
- 4:35Speaker 1: the Seahawks and this has been a long time, I've
- 4:37Speaker 1: never seen the ball on the ground this much, and so, um,
- 4:41Speaker 1: I think it's it's going to be a concern of
- 4:42Speaker 1: theirs going forward. It's gonna be something that they're gonna
- 4:44Speaker 1: address and uh and I'm sure they're gonna have all
- 4:47Speaker 1: types of drills and ball handling drills and things like
- 4:52Speaker 1: that to limit the amount of times that the ball
- 4:55Speaker 1: is on the ground. Was this the best regular season game?
- 4:57Speaker 1: You can't remember? And the time bro like it? I mean,
- 5:02Speaker 1: I can't say it was the most beautifully played games,
- 5:04Speaker 1: but with the intensity, with the hype, with the build up,
- 5:07Speaker 1: with where both teams are trending upward, would have been
- 5:10Speaker 1: a divisional game with all the different storylines. It's been
- 5:14Speaker 1: a long time since I've seen a game with that
- 5:17Speaker 1: much going into it actually live up to the buildings.
- 5:20Speaker 1: So the Hawks now are eight and two sitting pretty
- 5:22Speaker 1: they controlled their own destiny. What do you see going forward?
- 5:25Speaker 1: Do you think they have the capabilities to win this
- 5:27Speaker 1: division and possibly get a buy in the first round? Yes, yes,
- 5:31Speaker 1: I do. I think everything is still on the table
- 5:33Speaker 1: for them for the first round, by for Nancy championship,
- 5:36Speaker 1: for Russell Wilson to be the the MVP. And so
- 5:41Speaker 1: this team tends to play a different brand of football
- 5:45Speaker 1: in November than they do at the beginning of the season,
- 5:48Speaker 1: and so I think last night was the kickoff of
- 5:51Speaker 1: how they play in the second half and of the
- 5:54Speaker 1: season and the way they present themselves in the second
- 5:57Speaker 1: half of football season. Overall, how do you think the
- 6:00Speaker 1: offense performed last night? You know, like I'd probably give
- 6:04Speaker 1: them like a B minus. I think they could have
- 6:06Speaker 1: run the ball a little better, especially in the first half.
- 6:08Speaker 1: They get off to a really slow start. They couldn't
- 6:10Speaker 1: really get things going in the first quarter and most
- 6:14Speaker 1: of the second quarters. But the resilience that they show
- 6:17Speaker 1: the keep bouncing back even after Russell's interception and over
- 6:20Speaker 1: time and to still get the ball down the field
- 6:22Speaker 1: for people to make the necessary catches and make the
- 6:25Speaker 1: execute the next necessary blocks to get the ball down
- 6:28Speaker 1: into field goal rings. You have to give them. I
- 6:31Speaker 1: would give them a B minus B minus. So there
- 6:35Speaker 1: were a lot of moments in this game. Is there
- 6:37Speaker 1: one particular moment that just defines this Monday night football
- 6:41Speaker 1: game for you? Well, it's really hard because they were
- 6:46Speaker 1: going back and forth, and I would have to say
- 6:49Speaker 1: the most defining moment is the actual field goal kick
- 6:52Speaker 1: to win the game, because that could also define a
- 6:55Speaker 1: season for our kicker of who has been struggling and
- 6:58Speaker 1: we're gonna need him down the stretch to make kicks
- 7:00Speaker 1: like that. So it was a defining moment in more
- 7:02Speaker 1: than one way because it defines and that game, the
- 7:06Speaker 1: outcome of the game, and it also may have defined
- 7:08Speaker 1: the confidence of the of the kicker going down the stretch.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Last question for you, Ray Jermaine a fatty picked up
- 7:14Speaker 1: a fumble. If Ray Roberts picks up picks up a fumble,
- 7:18Speaker 1: are you going to the house with that thing? Well, Mike,
- 7:20Speaker 1: there was one time in my career I did try
- 7:23Speaker 1: to pick up a fumble and I thought I could
- 7:25Speaker 1: go to two yards for a first down, and I
- 7:27Speaker 1: got drilled out of bound and refumbled the ball too
- 7:30Speaker 1: and blew out my knee. So my my opportunities to
- 7:34Speaker 1: run we're very limited and will never ever happen again. Thankful,
- 7:37Speaker 1: So pretty much what us tell Jermaine and get down
- 7:39Speaker 1: next time? Get down, yeah, just get the ball, get
- 7:43Speaker 1: to the ground, all right, Ray, appreciate you taking time
- 7:45Speaker 1: as usual? Man, Well how light you soon? All right?
- 7:48Speaker 1: Brother peace? Go hawk? Yes, sir, all right, moving along,
- 7:51Speaker 1: We're gonna get to our main takeaways from this game,
- 7:54Speaker 1: and I'm gonna talk to my producer a bit today
- 7:57Speaker 1: because if you're in the room with this man, why
- 8:00Speaker 1: be in play? You have no choice but to be
- 8:03Speaker 1: into it because he's into it. So first main takeaway
- 8:06Speaker 1: nas the Seahawks can win every game possible in any
- 8:09Speaker 1: kind of way, to shootout, tight, one over, time doesn't matter.
- 8:12Speaker 1: They got it. I shouldn't be amazed anymore by this team,
- 8:14Speaker 1: but I am every single time. If it's gonna be
- 8:16Speaker 1: a shootout, like you said, if it's gonna be a
- 8:17Speaker 1: grind out game, come from behind, win, we're playing one
- 8:20Speaker 1: of the worst teams in the league, or playing the
- 8:21Speaker 1: best team in the league. This team is just so
- 8:23Speaker 1: vers little. Any environment at Century Link, on the road, anywhere.
- 8:27Speaker 1: These guys come ready to play, prime time is not
- 8:29Speaker 1: a thing for them. They're special. They're special. The Seahawk
- 8:32Speaker 1: games are not for the faint of heart. The game
- 8:35Speaker 1: is usually an emotional roller coaster. You get ups to
- 8:38Speaker 1: get downs. At one point they thought they would win
- 8:40Speaker 1: the ball game. Another point they were down. But that
- 8:42Speaker 1: just speaks to the culture and the message that Pete
- 8:46Speaker 1: Carroll his staff brings to the team. Yeah. I mean,
- 8:49Speaker 1: they start the game, they're down ten zero. They got
- 8:51Speaker 1: like five yards of offense in that first quarter of
- 8:53Speaker 1: San Francisco's one hundred and thirty five or something like that.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Right then they get up big. Then they're up twenty
- 8:57Speaker 1: one ten and you're thinking, Okay, this game is over.
- 8:59Speaker 1: They got this lock down. Then the Niners get back
- 9:01Speaker 1: into the game, and then in overtime you drive all
- 9:03Speaker 1: the way down and you think you're gonna win the game.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Then it goes so it's up and down, up and down.
- 9:07Speaker 1: But when you look at Russell, you look at Pete,
- 9:09Speaker 1: you look at the demeanor everyone on this team, there's
- 9:11Speaker 1: never a worry, there's never a doubt, and honestly, I
- 9:14Speaker 1: think there was at times. On the other side, the
- 9:17Speaker 1: Niners have never been in a game like this when
- 9:19Speaker 1: with everything stacked up. I think Garoppol kind of shaky
- 9:22Speaker 1: towards down the stretch. I mean, and it just speaks
- 9:25Speaker 1: to how good Russell and Pete and those guys are
- 9:27Speaker 1: got a great relationship. The Seahawks d line played their
- 9:29Speaker 1: best game of the season for the first time since
- 9:32Speaker 1: maybe the season open. The Hawks were able to get
- 9:34Speaker 1: pressure on the QB with their front four, and I
- 9:37Speaker 1: think that is crucial. You get pressure with your front
- 9:39Speaker 1: four man, you can drop seven back there and make
- 9:42Speaker 1: Jimmy try to beat you. I love the way the
- 9:44Speaker 1: corners on outside started off aggressively. As a game went along,
- 9:47Speaker 1: they started mixing up their coverages or whatnot. But initially
- 9:50Speaker 1: they say, hey, we're gonna rush our four, We're gonna
- 9:53Speaker 1: put pressure on the outside. You'll make some plays early,
- 9:55Speaker 1: but eventually we're gonna get to you. Yeah. This wasn't
- 9:57Speaker 1: This was the complete opposite of what we've seen in
- 9:59Speaker 1: the last couple of weeks, whether its Atlanta at whether
- 10:01Speaker 1: it's Tampa Bay, where it seemed like we were kind
- 10:03Speaker 1: of playing off and a lot of things were open. Underneath,
- 10:05Speaker 1: the middle was wide open. It was really good to
- 10:07Speaker 1: see them play more aggressive, play a little bit more man.
- 10:10Speaker 1: And you know, when you add digs back there, and
- 10:12Speaker 1: you add him in McDougald and the way Shaquille's been
- 10:14Speaker 1: playing all year, Trey had a big day. So it
- 10:16Speaker 1: was great to see them kind of change it up.
- 10:18Speaker 1: And I don't think the Niners were kind of caught
- 10:20Speaker 1: him off guard a little bit. Caught him off guard
- 10:21Speaker 1: for sure. And speaking of digs Man, he made an
- 10:23Speaker 1: impact and a lot of I think playing the safety position,
- 10:26Speaker 1: a lot of your job is just to be in
- 10:28Speaker 1: the right place at the right time, keep everything in
- 10:30Speaker 1: front of you. That one intercession he had, that receiver
- 10:33Speaker 1: probably should have caught that football. But if he wasn't
- 10:35Speaker 1: coming downhill, if he wasn't doing what he was supposed
- 10:38Speaker 1: to do, he wouldn't be in position to make that play.
- 10:40Speaker 1: It was nice seeing Diggs bring something to the table. Yeah,
- 10:43Speaker 1: that's that's you hit the nail right on the head.
- 10:45Speaker 1: If you're in position, things like that happened. People can
- 10:47Speaker 1: call it luck, you can call whatever you want, But
- 10:49Speaker 1: like you said, if you're not in position, those players
- 10:51Speaker 1: don't happen. And here's the deal, man, if you get
- 10:53Speaker 1: your hands on the football, you're doing something right. Yea, Sir,
- 10:55Speaker 1: Russell Wilson is still the MVP front runner. I think
- 10:59Speaker 1: that's true. Twenty three touchdowns, two interceptions, But forget the stats.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Just the moments him driving down the field to win
- 11:07Speaker 1: a football game, him throwing a pick in the red zone,
- 11:09Speaker 1: defense coming up big, and him not wavering at all,
- 11:12Speaker 1: still driving down the field, putting him in field goal
- 11:14Speaker 1: POSESSI you're putting his body on the line. He ran
- 11:16Speaker 1: for about fifty three yards last night. Russell Wilson can
- 11:19Speaker 1: do it all. No, and like you said, I think
- 11:20Speaker 1: that's the most impressive thing. You just watch his demeanor
- 11:22Speaker 1: and when they won the game, that just raw emotion.
- 11:25Speaker 1: People talk about robot Russ. I didn't see that last night.
- 11:27Speaker 1: I saw a guy who's the clear cut MVP of
- 11:30Speaker 1: the NFL. And it showed on display in prime time,
- 11:33Speaker 1: the only game on TV. So the rest of the
- 11:35Speaker 1: nation got to see that Russell is what we think
- 11:38Speaker 1: he is. Finally they got to see it. And they
- 11:40Speaker 1: didn't even see his really best physical game. No, they didn't,
- 11:43Speaker 1: you know, as far as grit as far as that
- 11:45Speaker 1: having that winner in him. They saw that. But I
- 11:47Speaker 1: hope they tune in and check this man out during
- 11:49Speaker 1: the rest of the season. Seahawks improved to twenty eight
- 11:52Speaker 1: five and one in prime time. We're always ready for
- 11:55Speaker 1: big moments and that show last night, and I think
- 11:59Speaker 1: Richard tried to will his team. He tried to will
- 12:02Speaker 1: those young guys, Jimmy when it got tough. He didn't
- 12:05Speaker 1: look like the confident, swaggy Jimmy that we're used to seeing.
- 12:08Speaker 1: He's not used to beating in these positions. The Niners
- 12:11Speaker 1: grew from that game last night. Yeah, so I think
- 12:13Speaker 1: that's what's gonna make them dangerous later on. Luckily for
- 12:16Speaker 1: the Seahawks, they've been in these moments already. It's nothing. Yeah. No,
- 12:19Speaker 1: the Niners, for sure. When you don't know what, you
- 12:22Speaker 1: don't know. So until you're in those tough positions, until
- 12:24Speaker 1: you're game online, you have to drive down and get
- 12:26Speaker 1: the job done. So it'll be, like you said, a
- 12:29Speaker 1: huge learning experience for the Niners. And boy, when we
- 12:32Speaker 1: play them the end of the year, that is gonna
- 12:34Speaker 1: be something central and feels about to be live because
- 12:38Speaker 1: I mean, I want to get ahead of myself, but
- 12:40Speaker 1: I'm not playing so I can. I'm hoping that's to
- 12:43Speaker 1: decide whether you get home field or not. Oh yeah,
- 12:46Speaker 1: it's gonna be a playoff game. It's gonna be the
- 12:47Speaker 1: second playoff game of the regular season because last night
- 12:50Speaker 1: had the playoff vibe. For sure. We're gonna move on
- 12:53Speaker 1: to our top performers. You gotta talk about Russell Wilson
- 12:56Speaker 1: twenty four to thirty four, two hundred thirty two yards,
- 12:59Speaker 1: one touchdown, and the touchdown that he threw was such
- 13:03Speaker 1: a witty, confident trust football he threw to Hollister. Hollister
- 13:08Speaker 1: is not even open, and Russell has has a knack
- 13:11Speaker 1: of doing this, throwing the ball to spots and trusting
- 13:14Speaker 1: that his guys are gonna get there. That's exactly what happened.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Hollister had his one handed catch on the helmet like
- 13:20Speaker 1: oh boy from the New York Giants and the Super Bowl.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Not as dramatic, but something along those lines, and as
- 13:24Speaker 1: nice to see Hollister get it done as well well.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Russell extending to play and then he knows he's reading it.
- 13:30Speaker 1: He said that defender has his back to me. Yep,
- 13:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna throw this for only Jacob Polister you can
- 13:34Speaker 1: catch it, and of course ends up a nice touchdown
- 13:37Speaker 1: and for me, the player of the game Jadeveon Clowney.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Five tackles, five QB hits, ten QB pressures, one sack,
- 13:44Speaker 1: one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one touchdown. This guy,
- 13:50Speaker 1: he's been playing well all season. But the average fan
- 13:53Speaker 1: looks at his stats and say, oh, well, you know
- 13:55Speaker 1: what has he been doing. But if you watch the game,
- 13:58Speaker 1: you watch out. He's getting to the quarterback and he
- 14:00Speaker 1: shows some tricks that he hadn't showed all year. I mean,
- 14:03Speaker 1: I saw a different rip. I saw him line up
- 14:05Speaker 1: in a tilt position, jab and go outside of him.
- 14:08Speaker 1: It seems like he's getting more comfortable and his game
- 14:10Speaker 1: is evolving. That dude is a man. Okay, that dude
- 14:14Speaker 1: is a beast among men. There's two times where one
- 14:17Speaker 1: play where he rushed and he put Joe Staley on
- 14:19Speaker 1: his back. Joe Staley's probably gonna be a Hall of
- 14:22Speaker 1: Fame left tackle in this league. And another time he
- 14:25Speaker 1: gets round Joe doesn't even get a hand on him.
- 14:27Speaker 1: This man was he as good as the game he had.
- 14:30Speaker 1: He could have had four sacks easily. He was literally
- 14:33Speaker 1: he was in Garoppolo's face the entire night, and I honestly,
- 14:36Speaker 1: I think that was one of the best games I've
- 14:39Speaker 1: seen from a defensive lineman in a long time. He
- 14:41Speaker 1: may have had how many sects that he had, he
- 14:43Speaker 1: had one. Excuse me, he's credited with credit for one sack,
- 14:46Speaker 1: but he's responsible for those other four sets. The pressure
- 14:49Speaker 1: that he puts back there allows everyone else to work. Man.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I love seeing this guy ball out in the middle
- 14:54Speaker 1: of the season, ry to think of things when we
- 14:56Speaker 1: need him the most. Next, DK Metcalf had six receptions
- 15:00Speaker 1: for seventy yards, and he's just nice and steady, nice
- 15:04Speaker 1: and steady. Granted that he did fumble, which we can
- 15:07Speaker 1: argue about that all day. Ye honestly, sometimes I don't
- 15:11Speaker 1: understand what the referees are seeing him. He did fumble,
- 15:13Speaker 1: but six receptions seventy yards. The rookie continues just to
- 15:17Speaker 1: be that steady hand that they need at that number
- 15:19Speaker 1: two receiver spot. Yeah, and obviously you want to protect
- 15:22Speaker 1: the ball. Pete Carrolls all brought protecting the football bet
- 15:25Speaker 1: almost with a fumble like that when some guy and
- 15:27Speaker 1: when he's just giving all his hand, he's stiff arming guys,
- 15:30Speaker 1: he's getting guys off his back, he's giving one hundred
- 15:33Speaker 1: percent effort. You know, obviously he'll improve, He'll know at
- 15:35Speaker 1: that point in time it's time to just protect the
- 15:37Speaker 1: ball and let's go first and go from the five.
- 15:38Speaker 1: But I can't get mad at the kid because he
- 15:40Speaker 1: is just balling out consistently, weak after week. Can't blame
- 15:43Speaker 1: the man for trying to make a play. Next up,
- 15:45Speaker 1: Bobby Wags eleven tackles, one past defense. They read a
- 15:49Speaker 1: stat before the game that he had like a thousand
- 15:51Speaker 1: and three tackles, and I'm sitting I'm thinking about that.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Blew my mind. He has tackled a man over a
- 15:58Speaker 1: thousand times, and tonight he didn't disappoint either. The eleven tackles,
- 16:02Speaker 1: one pass defense. Another steady veteran for you, right, dude,
- 16:05Speaker 1: he's special man. And I bet you if they had
- 16:07Speaker 1: another stat, I bet you his miss tackles would have
- 16:09Speaker 1: been like ten. Yeah, the dude, like last year, I
- 16:12Speaker 1: think he missed like one tackle. There's a reason this
- 16:14Speaker 1: dude is an All Pro every single year, and he's
- 16:15Speaker 1: just that veteran leader and he was miked up during
- 16:18Speaker 1: the game, and we got to just a little glimpse
- 16:21Speaker 1: into his leadership. Man, Like when he talks people listen
- 16:24Speaker 1: right when he's getting the defense fired up, like big
- 16:27Speaker 1: time in the game, when Russell throws the pick in
- 16:29Speaker 1: overtime and they running back to the forty five or
- 16:32Speaker 1: fifty or whatever, there was no room to break right there.
- 16:35Speaker 1: They they came out. Obviously the Niers missed the field goal,
- 16:38Speaker 1: but Bobby got everyone right away like let's go, we
- 16:40Speaker 1: need to stop right here, and just kind of speaks
- 16:41Speaker 1: to his leadership. We got the PG version miked up.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I want the whole deal? Can reviewers something I want
- 16:47Speaker 1: to know? That's what I miss about football too, man. Yeah, conversation,
- 16:50Speaker 1: that chatter on the field, I love it, and I
- 16:52Speaker 1: love listening to Bobby Wagoner speaking and rather the truths.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Quandre Diggs we talked about earlier. Two tackles, one interception,
- 16:58Speaker 1: one pass defense, and a couple big hits. That's what
- 17:02Speaker 1: I thought this defense was missing at that safety spot.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Mecdougal will come up, he'll get you, but it's just
- 17:07Speaker 1: a little different when Quandre comes down and smacks you. Yeah,
- 17:10Speaker 1: it was just something about that game. Everyone was hitting,
- 17:12Speaker 1: but Quandre it was you know, it's felt like he
- 17:15Speaker 1: took him a series or two to kind of get
- 17:16Speaker 1: back in the flow of things because he hasn't played
- 17:18Speaker 1: a long time. But he was out there thumping. And
- 17:20Speaker 1: that's and like you said, that's what you need back there.
- 17:22Speaker 1: You need that boom. You need receivers late in the games.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Maybe that causes a couple of those drops because you're
- 17:27Speaker 1: looking over your shoulder, who's coming down here. Maybe you
- 17:29Speaker 1: lose focus the last second because you're trying to get down.
- 17:31Speaker 1: So Quandre Diggs is gonna be a big help for
- 17:33Speaker 1: us this year for sure. Quandre loving and I think
- 17:35Speaker 1: he's gonna hell with the development of Blair as well.
- 17:38Speaker 1: So there we go. Okay, Receiver round up we talked
- 17:41Speaker 1: about a little bit. DK Mencalf had six catches seventy yards.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Jacob Hollister the tight end, the starting tight end as
- 17:47Speaker 1: of now with Luke getting his injury excuse me, eight
- 17:50Speaker 1: receptions sixty two yards, one touchdown. The league turner, man,
- 17:54Speaker 1: I love this kid. That run after Cash was impressive.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I don't think people realize how hard it is to
- 18:00Speaker 1: run with the football in your hands in the NFL.
- 18:02Speaker 1: These are the fastest, greatest athletes in the NFL. For
- 18:05Speaker 1: a youngster like Malik Turner to come up with a
- 18:07Speaker 1: huge catch, it was not only the catch, it was
- 18:09Speaker 1: when it happened. It was a drive it granted it
- 18:12Speaker 1: didn't the driving in the way that we wanted to,
- 18:14Speaker 1: but he kept the momentum going and kept the play alive.
- 18:18Speaker 1: It was third and eighteen eighteen. He was third and eighteen.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I have a played for that coach, i'ma haven't played,
- 18:23Speaker 1: Oh my god, And you're just thinking and Russell does
- 18:25Speaker 1: his thing and he finds Malik. And that's the thing
- 18:27Speaker 1: about all these guys is when they've been called upon,
- 18:29Speaker 1: they've all delivered at certain time to see whether it's Malik,
- 18:31Speaker 1: whether it's John Brown, whether it's David Moore. And we didn't.
- 18:34Speaker 1: We were about to touch on the next Josh Gordon.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Josh Gordon two catches twenty seven yards. I was on
- 18:40Speaker 1: morning show last week and they say, what do you
- 18:42Speaker 1: expect at a Josh Gored And I said, hey, three
- 18:44Speaker 1: catches thirty yards. They called me Craiz. They called me
- 18:46Speaker 1: Craig right there, man, Hey, But we talked to Pete earlier.
- 18:49Speaker 1: They said, they I sold him. They knew they were
- 18:51Speaker 1: gonna get one on one coverage on the backside of
- 18:53Speaker 1: trips man. He ran a slant in What I loved
- 18:55Speaker 1: about the way he caught the balls. He went and
- 18:57Speaker 1: grabbed it out the air and looked so doing it.
- 19:00Speaker 1: It didn't look hard at all. No, he's you can
- 19:03Speaker 1: tell the type of athlete. You can tell why Pete Carroll,
- 19:05Speaker 1: Brian shot Nimer, this whole staff fell in love with
- 19:07Speaker 1: this guy. And and that was just his first game.
- 19:10Speaker 1: There is no way, no way. He has the playbook
- 19:13Speaker 1: down at this point and great, you have a bye week,
- 19:15Speaker 1: another week to kind of study up, stay healthy. So
- 19:18Speaker 1: I'm expecting big things from Josh Gordon, big things, especially
- 19:21Speaker 1: after this Tyler Lockett three catches twenty six yards. He's
- 19:23Speaker 1: a little banged up. So if they can trust and
- 19:26Speaker 1: Josh Gordon, they get it done for a week without
- 19:28Speaker 1: if need be, I think they're good to go. Tyler
- 19:30Speaker 1: Lockett three for twenty six Like mentioned missed him, you
- 19:33Speaker 1: could feel it was a little different towards the end
- 19:35Speaker 1: of the ball game that Russ didn't have that that
- 19:38Speaker 1: go to guy that you know that he can trust.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Right now, he had to spread it out a little bit,
- 19:42Speaker 1: which will help the receivers in their overall development. But
- 19:45Speaker 1: you can never replace a guy like Tyler Lockett, not
- 19:48Speaker 1: at all. I mean Tyler, I mean yeah, you could
- 19:49Speaker 1: tell it. And what by me out a little bit
- 19:52Speaker 1: is when when you noticed he wasn't on a kickoff
- 19:54Speaker 1: for turn and you're like, okay, and then he wasn't
- 19:55Speaker 1: out for the first play of over time, You're like, shoot, okay,
- 19:57Speaker 1: And then they show him on the sideline and when
- 19:59Speaker 1: he was you can just kind of see a look
- 20:01Speaker 1: in his eye. So Tyler is one of the great
- 20:03Speaker 1: dudes in that locker room. Get healthy. We need you.
- 20:07Speaker 1: M Hopefully it looks good. I'm gonna be the optimism.
- 20:09Speaker 1: It's gonna be great to have this bye week to
- 20:11Speaker 1: get him ready because we're definitely gonna need him down
- 20:13Speaker 1: the stretch run. Gonna need him. Finally, Chris Carson had
- 20:16Speaker 1: three catches for twelve yards with a long of five.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Just a little checkdowns. Whenever need check down, you throw
- 20:21Speaker 1: to Chris. You know he's gonna run over at least
- 20:23Speaker 1: one guy and pick up a first down for you.
- 20:25Speaker 1: So now we're gonna shift over to the coach's corner. Here,
- 20:29Speaker 1: we're gonna break down. Jenny Red strips Jimmy g. Clowney
- 20:32Speaker 1: picks up the fumble and runs it back for a touchdown.
- 20:34Speaker 1: That happened with twofold one in the second quarter. Coleman
- 20:37Speaker 1: empties out to the right sideline, empty backfield for Garoppolo,
- 20:40Speaker 1: standstrong gets hit, bolos out, Bulls pick up plenty on
- 20:44Speaker 1: the other way, He's touchdown Shayhawks. Garoppolo fumbles the ball,
- 20:52Speaker 1: Read forces it with a sack, strips the ball and Clowney.
- 20:56Speaker 1: I hope he's gotten his contract money for points. His
- 21:00Speaker 1: second touchdown on the season, a focal recovery for a
- 21:04Speaker 1: touch and the Seahawks and within a point away of
- 21:07Speaker 1: only trailing the Niners by three. Yeah. And when you
- 21:10Speaker 1: look at this play, it all starts with the stunt.
- 21:13Speaker 1: They got a stunt by Reid and Puna. Granted Puna
- 21:15Speaker 1: played a great game as well, we didn't mention him,
- 21:17Speaker 1: but it all starts with that stunt. That stunt confuses
- 21:20Speaker 1: the guard and the center, forces them to communicate. At
- 21:23Speaker 1: the same time, David Clowney is doing his thing on
- 21:26Speaker 1: the outside. Bullrushes gets outside, gets around that corner. Read
- 21:30Speaker 1: gets a body on him, and guess what, when you hustle,
- 21:33Speaker 1: when you're at the right place at the right time,
- 21:34Speaker 1: good things happen. Clowney scoops and scores. That's the second
- 21:38Speaker 1: touchdown of the year from a D lineman. That's pretty
- 21:40Speaker 1: hard to do. No, it's wild and that's the thing.
- 21:42Speaker 1: And this is what we expected from the D line. Obviously,
- 21:45Speaker 1: we know it was kind of a slow start for them.
- 21:47Speaker 1: But when you got Read back, you got Quittin, Jefferson back,
- 21:49Speaker 1: you got Clownie, you got on set, you got all
- 21:51Speaker 1: those guys up front. This is what everyone thought we
- 21:54Speaker 1: were gonna get. And it's great to see that all
- 21:56Speaker 1: come together. Watching them last night looked like they played
- 21:59Speaker 1: together for ten years. That group with Punaford included. They're
- 22:02Speaker 1: gonna do some big things and the league is now
- 22:05Speaker 1: on notice. They are noticed and it takes time. Sometimes
- 22:08Speaker 1: it's like that, you know, halfway through the season, Rita's
- 22:11Speaker 1: in his third or fourth game, Damon's finally getting the
- 22:14Speaker 1: defense down, Poonas back, so it's it all looked like
- 22:17Speaker 1: it's coming together at the right time. So love to
- 22:20Speaker 1: see that. It's close it out. The best thing we
- 22:23Speaker 1: saw the Seahawks are eight and two and just a
- 22:25Speaker 1: half a game behind the forty nine is for the
- 22:27Speaker 1: best record in the NFL. That's wild that. I mean, people,
- 22:32Speaker 1: all the negativity we've heard this season, it has been overwhelming.
- 22:37Speaker 1: And every week we get on this podcast we try
- 22:39Speaker 1: to remind you, guys, Hey, the Seahawks are still five
- 22:42Speaker 1: and two. The Seahawks are six and two, The Seahawks
- 22:44Speaker 1: are seven and two, The Seahawks are eight and two,
- 22:46Speaker 1: half game out. They control their own destiny at this point,
- 22:49Speaker 1: and that is a crazy thing. If you would have
- 22:51Speaker 1: told me that at the beginning year, of course I
- 22:53Speaker 1: would sign up for that every single day and twice
- 22:55Speaker 1: on Sunday, and wow, eight and two baby. With last
- 22:59Speaker 1: night's win, the House put themselves in a position to
- 23:01Speaker 1: compete for the division title, which is crucial. When's the
- 23:04Speaker 1: last time we won a Super Bowl here, Nash That
- 23:07Speaker 1: was two thousand and thirteen season. Did we have home
- 23:11Speaker 1: home field advantage? Nass sure did. So we gotta win.
- 23:14Speaker 1: We gotta win division. We got to every time we've
- 23:16Speaker 1: been in the Super Bowl five thirteen, and fourteen. We
- 23:19Speaker 1: want our division and we got home field. Make teams
- 23:21Speaker 1: come to Century Link and win in January. That's a
- 23:23Speaker 1: hard thing to do, hard thing to do. The buy
- 23:26Speaker 1: could not have come at a better time to see
- 23:27Speaker 1: hows can heal up and get ready for the Eagles
- 23:30Speaker 1: in prime time? Carson's banged up lockets, banged up Russell
- 23:33Speaker 1: looked like he was banged up a little bit. That
- 23:35Speaker 1: defensive line better be banged up because they were. They
- 23:38Speaker 1: were getting after those boys. So I love the timing.
- 23:41Speaker 1: It's all working out. It's like the football guys that
- 23:43Speaker 1: are shining down on the Hawks right now. Bless us
- 23:46Speaker 1: with a bye wing. Oh yeah, everyone's bye. We could
- 23:48Speaker 1: not have comment, didn't come too early, came right when
- 23:50Speaker 1: guys need to get healthy, perfect time. We always played
- 23:53Speaker 1: better in November and December, so this is great. Guys
- 23:56Speaker 1: can get off their feet, come back ready to go,
- 23:59Speaker 1: and let's see what we we can do the restless way.
- 24:01Speaker 1: There it is, folks, and Seahawks beat the once undefeated
- 24:04Speaker 1: now wants defeat a big up race for that one,
- 24:06Speaker 1: twenty seven to twenty four in overtime. That was Hawk
- 24:09Speaker 1: Talk Recap Edition. I'm your host, Michael Blumbers a law.
- 24:12Speaker 1: When NASA chold me big us Ray Roberts, who will
- 24:15Speaker 1: see you next time.
