[upbeat rock music] Hoity, hoity, hidey, ho. Hey.
0:18
Full Spectrum Cycling. By cracky, I don't have my technology on- I think we're 135... to see [laughs] what number it is. It's 135, I think is what we're on. Uh, yeah, you're right.
0:29
What with leaving the computer at home and all sorts of other... Well, I was planning on going home before I came here, but then we were supposed to meet somebody from the city here to talk about facade grants and
0:41
signage grants and all sorts of stuff, and didn't get no visit from no city employee. Oh. I had everybody in the building cued up on it, because we can do some damage out there with- Right...
0:52
uh, improvements if we all get grants from- Yeah, absolutely... from the city for improving this- Well-deserved grants. Yeah, for sure. I don't know that anybody's- I-...
1:01
put any money in this building, except for recently, in 100 years. I- [laughs] Probably, I mean, I used to ride by it every... well, rode by it every day for years, but yeah. Yeah. Well- Nice to see it as something else.
1:12
Coming along. Coming along. Electricity, of course, everybody probably knows that's in already, but- Yeah. Yeah... got some drywalling going on in the other room. Yeah. Got some drywalling going on in there.
1:20
Looking good. Looking good. I, I am totally, like, do not know what color. I was just gonna do white so it was bright, and then I, I...
1:27
when you look in the door and you see all the way back, I go, "That can't be white back there. It would look horrible." Right.
1:32
So I'm thinking about, like, I have all these old, from the 1860s, '70s, '80s, Harper's Bazaar. Remember that thing? Of course. There was, like, a newspaper, and their...
1:42
Winslow Homer was the guy that had all the good prints. Mm-hmm. But I have several that are of Milwaukee from that era. It's, like, either buildings or aerial view from up top of whatever
1:53
ladder they set up, 'cause Milwaukee doesn't really have hills, but it's somewhat of an aerial view of Milwaukee. And I thought, "Well, if I can get a high enough quality scan of that..."
2:02
Oh, JK's glass is, uh, just- Ah... cracked and his, and his, uh, what did you call that thing before? [laughs] A lens? No. My blade? Yeah, your blade fell out. My eye blade. Your eye blade [laughs] fell out.
2:11
My eye blade fell out of my holster. [laughs] So I, so I have all these, uh, Harper's- Pretty cool...
2:17
prints, and if I can get a h- a high enough res scan of it, then I could have that made into wallpaper and slap that up, 'cause that would look pretty cool. That would look pretty damn cool. That's my idea right now.
2:28
I think that's about 500 bucks worth of wallpaper. Mm. But there's a place that prints that stuff. Basically, they'll print anything you want. I think that's really cool.
2:37
That's, and, and it comes in pa- I, I'm not a wallpaper guy, but how hard can it be to get it wet and slap it on the wall? Right. So that's- I'm a, I'm a wallpaper remover guy, 'cause- Yeah... I hate wallpaper.
2:48
Oh, somebody, when I bought my house, I'd, I didn't notice it right away, and it was this, a horrific green with stucco over it. Ooh. But they had done that over wallpaper. Oh. Probably came off easier.
2:59
Well, I didn't take it off yet. I just painted over it again. [laughs] And now there's a l- really, like, 80 pounds of paint per square inch of that, on that wall. Load-bearing. Yeah, yeah.
3:08
[laughs] And it, when it gets humid, it makes these little bubbles in certain spots and stuff. I can't really see spending the time to take it off.
3:15
I can see getting quarter-inch drywall, slapping it over that thing, and starting fresh. [laughs] Extra insulation. That's kinda how I see it. [laughs] I... well, okay, another house story.
3:25
I don't know how we got on houses, 'cause it's supposedly Full- That's where you hold the-... Spectrum Cycling Show, but- You were gonna ride your bike to your house. That's how. I was gonna ride my bike to my house.
3:32
Oh yeah. That's how I got there. There we go. Get my Confuser. Um, so I looked into doing siding on it. It's a concrete block house. I thought, "Oh yeah, that's gonna insulate the shit out of it."
3:41
Well, my bills are already like nothing, so why would I spend money on siding when I'm not gonna realize any gain on... It might look- Yeah. It's-... better... intrinsically... Yeah, you, I, I'm not- Maybe. Eh.
3:52
It'll raise your taxes. I should get some shiplap and shove that stuff on the outside. No. That would look really cool. For, like, four more years. It would, [laughs] it would raise your taxes. And it'd look like shit.
4:02
[laughs] Yeah. Well, we're there for six to seven more years, and then we're out of there. Speaking of things that are gonna last way longer than that, Cody's daddy. Yes, sir. Ba-bye. That was a fun time.
4:14
Um- Was that, was that Zoom, uh, d- a public invite to the Zoom thing?
4:19
Y- yeah, ki- I mean, it was email me and I'll send you an invite, but it was, it was kinda funny because thank God the l- the judge only saw the first page. 'Cause there was a whole nother page.
4:30
He was going through and talking to everyone. He talked to JK. I know, yeah. I got cut. JK did a Wonder- a Wonder Boy, which was, like, the absolute best part of the whole thing.
4:37
[laughs] I'm like, "Someone's gotta call him Wonder Boy." [laughs] So, so J- JK threw that out, and I'm like, "Yes." Yeah. Molly actually right away too, she's like, "Oh man, that's so cool."
4:46
[laughs] And, uh, but there was a whole nother page of people. So he went one by one through everyone and, and yeah, he- Yeah, I wasn't expecting that...
4:54
he- He was like, "Is there any reason why he should not have this child?" Yeah, [laughs] there, there was no one that made an argument that I should not have this child, thankfully. Right.
5:01
[laughs] Um- Yeah, I was kinda caught off guard, I think. Yeah, I was- Well, it, simply because I was still in a Teams meeting, which I was trying... It was kinda interesting. So I was on Zoom with you- In Teams...
5:14
in Teams with my boss and coworker, and muting them, and then unmuting me, and then like this, that, and then, like, oh, it was pretty funny. It was, it was cute. And then I would, like, leave that one.
5:23
I'm like, "I'm having connectivity problems over here." [laughs] It, it was pretty fun. It was, you know- Oh dude, you have no idea.
5:30
I had a, I had so much weird shit going on behind me and whatever, and I w- that was great though. I- I was laughing my ass off...
5:38
I feel bad I didn't get the invitation out to some of my family on accident- I'm glad I d- I'm glad I didn't have to fool myself-... and a whole lot of other people... 'cause I had no idea.
5:44
[laughs] Um, but it was, it was pretty cute, and you know, the whole deal with it now is, is no one can fucking take him away from me. Yeah, for sure.
5:52
Always in the back of your mind while you are the foster parent, you are thinking, "Is mom gonna show up? Is dad gonna show up and, and try to,
6:02
even though they signed away parental rights, are they gonna try to take him away and- So there's- Yeah... there's no legal remedy anymore for the, for the birth parents? Zero. Sweet. Zero. Daniel's part of the fam.
6:15
Yeah, he is. He is officially... There is, there's, you know, no chance, no hell- Well, I hope he-... hell or high water... I hope he, I hope he turns out to be a good kid and he treats you well- Yeah...
6:24
'cause you're an old man already. I know. And you're gonna be a really old man when he's, you know- Wow, honey dripper... 18. [laughs] My...
6:31
So, okay, so my buddy Mike is 69, and he adopted a ch- a child of a similar situation to what you did. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Um, whatever it is, you know, 20 years ago now or something, and, uh, he said,
6:46
"Why the hell would he do that?" [laughs] No, I'm- It's-... I'm sure it- It's-... it- it will work out better. She, she was- It's part Catholic guilt. Yeah, yeah. They get you. You know, um, they, they guilt- [laughs]...
7:00
they guilt trip the hell out of you. We all know that. I mean, well, uh, I know you and I know [laughs] that very well. Oh. You know? [laughs] So, um- Bias... yeah, uh- Lourdes Academy.
7:10
Um, but, but no, I- Academy, that sounds like a fancy place... it, it, the, the, you know, we... I... He's my kid, man. I was... I would not have it go any other way.
7:22
Do it all over again, hopefully I don't have to, I would do it all the same. Awesome. Yeah. Yeah, so- So thank you... congratulations, Tony. Thank you. It, it gets me incredibly emotional, so move on.
7:32
So you need two more to equal Shannon's tally? Oh, God, no. [laughs] Shannon's legendary. Yeah. Legendary. Legendary. And now that I've looked at that buggy he bought- Shannon Legendary. Look at the gauge, Kate...
7:44
again, that's a pretty cool little car. Me too. What his... Oh, his dune buggy?
7:49
Yeah, he's gonna bring that up and we're all gonna go for a ride, Daniel and I and his little one and him and, and, uh, and then I said, "Okay, we're gonna go for a ride in your Volkswagen dune buggy.
7:58
Then we're gonna go on a ride in my EOS, and we're gonna do 100 miles an hour." Do 100 for Brad. Hit 100 for Brad. That's usually- For, for, for just the second or two, yeah... coming up around that time.
8:08
My buddy Brad passed many years ago, but around his birthday time, we always try to hit 100 for Brad- 100... somewhere along the way. [laughs] 100 miles an hour is fun. I'm, I'm not gonna lie.
8:17
I like to do it on a- I've done it a lot... motorcycle because it goes way more quickly than in a car. Yeah. You can just brap it up there and brap back down, and you're not- Yeah...
8:24
taking, like, two miles to get up to speed. [laughs] Yeah, doing it in a '67 Chevelle, that's a whole 'nother ballgame. Yeah, you don't wanna do it going up the Hoan Bridge. No. Better to do it going down.
8:35
Then you can see the policeman sitting just over the top of the hill. Going, "Wee!" I got, uh... Hoan Bridge is the thing that goes over the harbor, for anybody- Yeah...
8:42
that's ever been to Milwaukee, and I had a, a lady on the back of my GPZ back in the old days and thought, "Well, we should see- Yellow lady... how fast we can go." And she's like- You had the old lady on there?
8:51
She's like, "Yeah, go for it." So we were going about 120 over the top. Top of the top. That's a 12-point ticket, which I got reduced to- Four... two points. Oh, nice. Good lawyer. Yeah, yeah, I got a good lawyer.
9:03
[laughs] Well, and you just... And, and if you show up, that's already taken half of it off. Right.
9:07
The problem with the whole situation was she really had to go to the bathroom, and he wouldn't let her just even go in the bushes. And she's like... He's like, "You want another ticket?" I'm like, "Oh, dude." Come on.
9:16
"Can you, can you just- That's just rude... get the ticket and go in here?" [laughs] What a horrible human being that guy was. Fontana, Fontana police were known for making people wet themselves. Holding it.
9:25
They were dicks. [laughs] Or little tiny dicks, actually. All right. That discusses police and Tony's kid. And my kid. And, uh, hey, how about something- How about bikes?... how about something cycling oriented?
9:36
Ozzy Osbourne, he's cycling oriented now. Come on. Yeah. Totally. Really? State Bicycle Company has a collaboration with the Ozzy whatever the, the who has the rights to his name and all that stuff. Ma- So not Ozzy...
9:51
making bike jerseys. And, uh- Jersey jacket, I just noticed. Oh, Lord... and, and then, and then there's like a, yeah, heavier duty jersey jacket that's more of a wintery thing and- Yeah... and, and, uh- Oh...
10:01
stem caps and, uh, you know, road bags. And they don't have a, they don't have an Ozzy clunker yet. I'm waiting for them to do an Ozzy clunker. Yeah. Wouldn't that be kinda kickass? No.
10:11
I'd, I'd do the purple bat Ozzy clunker. Oh. Ha- hate me for this- That jersey does look kinda tight though... but not that bad. Come on, he's legend- I know... ary. I know. I know.
10:20
That- But you see, I worked at Winter Park, and at, at the end- [laughs]... of the, at, at the closing of the lifts, we were at the Derailer bar. Oh.
10:30
So Crazy Train was the finish song to notify the entire mountain that the mountain- Yeah, exactly... was closing. I listened to that five days a week for- It's gonna have to be done.
10:39
Oh, I'm not saying that I wanna listen to all of Ozzy's back catalog- Right. I know... 'cause some is better than others, but definitely there's some good gems in there for sure. Yeah, of course.
10:48
Okay, I'll give you that. So that is, uh, I think it's, uh, they're, uh, basically on sorta pre-order now, but they'll ship by the end of October, early November.
10:55
So don't know if you'll get it in time for Halloween, but, uh- Steve's got it going on... somewhere in that ballpark. Oh, I'm very- And I think the designs are kickass, I think.
11:03
Yeah, I'm very interested, more that I'm... The more that I'm looking at it. I just don't wear- How would they get that stuffed in? I don't wear jerseys. Unless I get the jersey- I don't know...
11:11
baggy enough that it's like a s- Yeah, like a-... smock. Yeah... yeah, I don't wear jerseys though. [laughs] All right. Right.
11:16
Like form fitting, like, "Oh, yes, I want everything to-" Well, they are, they call them T-shirt cut for the, the regular jerseys, and that to me would mean a little- They look-... a little on the baggy side...
11:25
they, they look baggy the way that they're- Ask-... showing them... on the, um- Wisconsin baggy or any other state baggy? 'Cause, you know, there's a difference. Yeah, sure is.
11:35
Well, the, uh, so the, the, the, the more wintery one, they say- Yeah... specifically that it's more of a European fit, and you might wanna size up for your fat American ass. Right. Right. But, uh, yeah, take a look.
11:45
State Bicycle have a link in the show notes, so you can go check that out and, uh, buy cracky. That's tempting. If, if... What? If... What are you doing? What are you doing? What? What are you doing?
11:53
Oh, did you go to a beer run? You wanna mute me for a second? B-double E. Double R. You been beer run. You been beer run. You said it. Oh, that was Mike. Sorry. [laughs] Hi. [laughs] I, I muted, I muted Mike.
12:08
Well, let's do the show beer since we, you know, we can ring the bell when you get back after you get over that big hill there and- JK and I can talk about the show we went to over to the Shank Hall the other day. Okay.
12:20
Rode our, rode our clunkers down there- Ding, ding, ding... by Cracky. Uh, who- so it was, uh, JK, James, and, uh, Nick Bastman and I rode down there.
12:31
Nick has a, he has a fixation, you know, single speedy thing with just a front brake. He wants a, now he wants a coaster brake [laughs] 'cause he- Yeah... so he's like, "Oh, those things are so cool.
12:41
You need a coaster brake for this, and I can get rid of that front brake, and..." That would be fun. Yeah. I dunno. That would be fun, though, yeah. I'm sure we can build one. I, I don't...
12:49
I suppose you can get a 700C coaster brake somewhere, I, I assume. Anything's possible. But, uh, so St. Christopher was on the show a couple weeks ago.
12:58
I don't know if anybody could hear his unintelligible, um, Nebraska accent/marble mouth, but, um, he did, he did an opening set. And then the Piss Poor Players, which, I got, I think I have a picture of this.
13:12
I'm gonna put a picture of this in the show notes 'cause they have all these, um...
13:17
It's like a seven-inch single, but they have all, all of the, uh, album art is different and a lot of it is, like, old-school maybe National Enquirer or something. Oh, Weekly World News. Or whatever this one is. Yeah.
13:28
I dunno. Yeah, like Fat Boy. Ah! Ha- half of US hookers are space aliens, and they don't have sex [laughs] organs. [laughs] Damn. I just thought it was such a good, uh, a good- I loved, I love-... a good cover...
13:44
I miss, I miss the Weekly World News for anything. My grandfather was a huge National Enquirer guy. Oh, nice. Yeah, it was great. And i- so it was one of my first lessons in- "It said it here in the paper."
13:56
[laughs] Yeah. Well, it was one of my first lessons in advertising, 'cause they always had in the back, on the very, the very back page on the inside...
14:04
I forget what it was for now, 'cause that was like 40 years ago, but it was the same ad every week, and I know that shit wasn't cheap. And I thought, "How the hell can they afford that?"
14:14
And he says, "Well, they must be selling more." Right. I'm like, "Oh, yeah. Yeah. Well, it makes sense."
14:20
It was, like, for, uh, it was a m- maybe a thing you put on the back of your chair to massage your back or something. Yeah. Which target audience? My grandpa and his chair. Right. You know? Had one.
14:29
"Well, I got one of those." Had a spare just in case. [laughs] Hey, guess what just happened? Huh? Oh. Oh, oh, did you get to the top of hill again? I did. Top of the hill. [bell ringing] Hey. By the way, Sam D.
14:42
is lurking in the room in case you hear rogue, uh, chortles or sounds. That was who I was conversing with. A little bit off-speaker, just a little bit like that. Like, a little bit off-mic and da, da, da. So- [laughs]
14:55
Uh, Tony brought the, Tony brought the beer today. Giacomo. Giacomo Fina, a top shelf beer. Juicy IPA from Abita. Oh, it's an Abita? It is an Abita. It is an Abita, yep. I can't... I can tell you this, it's tasty.
15:06
I'm like, I'm like- 6% alcohol, double hop-... like, like-... double dry hopped. Uh, it's, it's just, it's really drinkable. I think it would be one of those kinds that could get you into trouble- I-...
15:17
'cause it's really [laughs] tasty... yeah, I would love to find it on tap. I bet you it's a- How elka-hoo-... really fantastic tap beer. How much elka-hoozy? 6. 6%. Whoa, Lordy.
15:25
Not, not terribly, not Tim's lying vein that, uh, Sam D.'s drinking, 'cause Tim, once again we're calling you out for being a liar. [laughs] Even though you're sponsoring my child's birthday party on... Oh, sorry.
15:39
Birthday party Saturday, 2:00 to 5:00. That's tomorrow. Black Husky Brewing. Tomorrow. Yeah. On- Bring your dog... October, uh, 21 to 3rd. 3rd, yep. I may start- Bring your dog... I may start the, uh, the Tweed Ride
15:52
that rolls out at 1:00, and I think it does, like, whatever. It's, like, Good City to Good City. It starts on- It does- Does it start at the one on, on Farwell? Yeah. Yeah. I could do that.
16:03
So I, w- whatever direction they go- That said, I don't have anything tweed at all... and then you head, it's, uh, 2:00 to 5:00, so. But you'd ride a clunker. I mean, you can't ride in with gears. Yeah. Doesn't matter.
16:12
No, you can ride three speeds. It's a fucking bike ride. You can ride three speeds. You're, I'm sorry, you're right. I always rode three speed. There are not people who crash on- Or occasionally a two...
16:17
damn theme rides that aren't themed up. Eh, it's a bike ride. If they're gonna give you shit, I'll kick them in the nuts for you. [laughs] I'll just wear, I'll just wear my all black tweed.
16:27
[laughs] I have solid black tweed. It's awesome. Yeah, there you go. It's tweed. I will not be attending the Tweed Ride, obviously. So apparently the Tweed Ride is also- Well, it's a 10-... tomorrow. Yes. Yes.
16:39
10 years, apparently. Yeah. Yeah. Huh. They said- They had a picture, and the old Schlu- Schlabowski sitting there front and center. Huh? Yeah, I remember. The, I'm, it's a cool ride. Yeah. And it's, you know- Yeah.
16:49
Yeah... sort of period-specific bikes and stuff. It's almost a Steel Is Real- It's-... but not quite. Well, isn't there the- Yeah, 'cause-... there's the Lake Pemakin?... it's just gonna mellow it out.
16:57
Is that how you pronounce it? Oh, look at the pelican. Fly, pelican. The Lake Pemakin ride in Minnesota where you... It's a no, no derailleur ride. It's three speeds and single speeds, and people...
17:08
It's basically period riding. Oh. And you go around this Minnesota lake. Lake L- it's, it's really famous. I, I'm probably just pronouncing it terribly wrong. Probably should get Zeno here- Pe- Pemakin?...
17:20
to tell us how you say it. I'm sure he knows 'cause it's from Minnesota. Pepin. Pep- pep- Pepin? Pepin? Yeah. It might be Pepin, yeah. It's, uh, it's on... It's on- Hey, look, Pippin. Shut up, Pepin.
17:30
It's supposed to be really cool. They call me Pip. 80 miles around or something like that and... I dunno. There you go. That's the problem in Minneapolis.
17:38
Well- Everywhere you go, there's a lake in front of you and you gotta go around it. Right. We'll put that in the show notes once- Will we, now?...
17:43
we can figure out w- what we're actually- Once we can figure out what it's called... talking about. Um, yeah. So Tweed Ride, Tony's thing, this and that. In our very own building here with our, uh, roommates.
17:55
No, what do, what do you call them? Building mates? Our, our co-tenanting people. Our other hostel members. Yeah, the House of Rad, which is, they're right next to us.
18:03
Uh, they're actually, uh, not even there and silent today, which is beautiful. Are having a benefit for- [laughs]... Feed Your Soul on November 5th, which is coming up on a Saturday sometime down the road, I, I think.
18:18
It might be a Friday. I don't even know. It's one of those, Friday or Saturday, November 5th. I know the date is correct. And they're expecting 800 folk, so- Hmm...
18:27
we're gonna need, uh, we're gonna need T-Bone and JK to come by and herd cats and such, if possible. Uh, yeah. I, I honestly- I, I might be on a town. [laughs] No, I have no idea. I might- Yeah. Well, sure...
18:41
I actually might be. And, you know. [siren] Oh, my God. Er, okay. Is that a, is there an air raid going on or something? Yes, yes. It's only a matter of time. They declassified all of the information.
18:52
Uh, Mark, what is his name? The guy from Blink-182, he was right all the time. Uh, so was Giorgio. Speaking of Giorgio, the Extraterrestrials are being put on, what? The Shop bike? Yeah. Uh-huh. Yeah.
19:08
Uh- See, you bring it all back. Yeah. The, the- Hey, it's still about a bicycle show... I'm t- I'm trying to fit the 2.5s in there. [laughs] All right, I got a fi- Yeah, dude.
19:17
I'm gonna take it, since we're, since we can and we're not talking anymore, I'm gonna take a break and see what the fuck that sound is. [laughs] All right. 1000 across. Mystery solved.
19:27
I, that was the world's loudest and, as far as I can tell, smallest Shop Vac. Wow. I'm not even sure it came through on the thing, but in here it sounded like the world was ending- Yeah...
19:38
and there was aliens and big ships above them. There was, like, a little fire going. Amateur building. [laughs] Amateur- Well-... dentistry going on... whatever. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. On dinosaurs- [laughs]...
19:46
with, like, you know. [dinosaur noises] [laughs] Yeah. There, it, it was a, it was a di- they were using, like, a hammer drill on a dinosaur. That's what that sound was. Anyway, um, so- We're back...
19:57
we're, we're ba- We're- We're back here now. We're here now. We can edit that part out, but we won't. The thing to see here. Eh. Eh. Eh. I'll listen to it. We'll see what it sounds like, and then we won't edit it anyway.
20:06
So, uh- Put the intermission music in. [singing] More of, more of the clunking. Did we- Clunk. God damn it. Did we- Clunking. Your blade fell out again. [laughs] My blade. Your eye blade fell out again. My eye blades.
20:18
Did we talk about going, uh, did we talk about going down to The Swinging Door today yet? Oh, we didn't finish, uh, the show. Uh, the headliner. Oh, we didn't- Headlines... finish that yet. Okay.
20:27
Yeah, so we did, we did St. Chris, and did we do, we didn't- And at this point we-... piss four players... because we got sidetracked there. Right. And- And then it was Top of the Hill, so we had to have a beer. Right.
20:36
And then came out Joe Buck Yourself. Joe Buck Yourself. That guy was awesome. Really? Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
20:41
I talked to him, like, 10 minutes, about for, for 10 minutes, uh, before the show, and he was just super fun, 'cause they had...
20:47
At Shank Hall, they have pictures of a lot of the people who've played there, and we're walking around. I'm like, "Who influenced, who influenced you that's in these pictures?" He's like, "No, no, yeah, no, no."
20:57
[laughs] Well, Hank 3 was one of them, and he'd played with Hank 3- Yeah... in the past, so, um- Yeah, he was part of his- Yeah. But, you know, people of that ilk.
21:05
And he's, uh, he basically, un- at least for this show, 'cause he didn't play electric, although he does in other shows apparently, played basically an acoustic, and then he had a guitar case set up on its end, mic'd, and was using that as- Yeah, like-...
21:18
his kick drum. Nice. Yeah, it was pretty cool. Yeah, totally. Like, it was like busking, but on stage. Right. And he played for, I bet, two hours. Yeah, hell yeah. Wow.
21:27
He played a long, long time, and he was ki- it was a very intimate show, I would say. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Owing to the fact that there, there just weren't that many people there. Yeah. Right.
21:35
But, um- I got my request played. [laughs] Yeah. So- What was, what was your request this time? It was that- "Demon in my head." Oh, right on. "Oh, Lord, that demon in my head won't be dead, demon in my head.
21:46
Oh- And it was at poor Shank Hall?... glory, glory hallelujah." It was at Shank Hall- Yeah...
21:49
which I already don't go to normally anyway, but- Well, and if you don't do well at Shank Hall on your first show, you're never invited back is what I heard. Oh, he- Well-...
21:57
I'm sure they did fine technically speaking for the, for what's going on in the world these days.
22:02
But, um, because I don't, I don't know that anybody in our group spent less than a hundo on their very expensive alcohol hoozy. Yeah. Oh, there you go. That was the thing. Yeah.
22:11
I mean, like, I did not, I didn't step foot on Summerfest grounds this year. You know, I haven't, like, splurged on a show, at a show, for a show. Even at the Birch Tent, you know, nothing.
22:24
I mean, I think I actually didn't get nothing at this one. So I kinda, like, translated this show into my entire- Right. What-... Summerfest experience this year and last year [laughs] I'll copy that... kind of thing.
22:36
Yeah. Where I'm like, "Okay, fuck it. I will pay $80 for the..." You know, it's like going to the Rave. Same, same. Yeah. You know? Yeah. I mean- For sure...
22:44
it's a grudge fuck, and it's, it has to be something you wanna, want to see. I mean, if it's just like, oh, yeah, Nickelback, and I have to pay for the tickets- I know... you know, you're in some kind of-...
22:53
self-hating- Did anyone see The Quills on Sunday-... form of cult or-... at Lineman's? No Quills show. What? Oh, I wanted to. And Grovelers? Yeah. I didn't hear about it until the next day.
23:02
I'm like, "Oh, that would've been a great show." Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Oh, I felt bad. Then it passed. Yeah, they are fun. Oh, I was at the, um, punk rock, uh, rummage sale, like, three months ago.
23:17
And, I don't know, just sitting on the side and talked to Bijou for a second. And then, I don't know, just, you know, people are nice, and, you know, blah, blah, blah, make...
23:26
And I was [laughs] just talking with this woman, and it was, um, I don't know her name, from The Quills. From The Quills. And going like- Lori maybe, or- It was like, I'm like, "Oh, yeah.
23:36
Well, and our band plays over there sometimes." I'm like, "Oh, oh, what's the name?" "Quills." I'm like, "No shit. Yeah, I saw you at Shank." [laughs] Yeah, yeah. Right on. Nice. [laughs] Awesome. Small walkie, baby.
23:49
Small walkie. Small walkie. Uh, yeah. So that was, that was Shank Hall. Yeah. And, uh, uh- It was a good time. Goddamn good time. Yeah.
23:58
You guys peeled off, and then I, I- Yeah, I don't know what happened for the rest of that night, because- I, I peeled home-ish. I know I got home at, like, 1:30. So it was later. Yeah, yeah.
24:07
I was- Late, late for an old man anyway. Well, and I, I hadn't taken the Purple People Eater out for a while, so I, the, I felt a little loose. Loosen the arms, plus loosen the, in the mind.
24:20
So- That thing does, it is a very quick-steering bicycle at that. Yeah. Do you... Well, you saw me- Trying to just put it on that damn bike rack. [laughs] Damn thing was like, "Wee." [laughs] Yeah. Snap and quick.
24:31
[laughs] I know, I- It's a different era of mountain bike. Yeah. Well, yeah, certainly. I don't, uh- Well, and it's the Frankenbike.
24:36
It's, uh- You're supposed to have a 180 millimeter stem on it or something to kinda slow the steering down. [laughs] Well, that's, it, yeah. Well, it's a, it's a Mo- Instead of 22... it's a Molly/Colin Huber build.
24:45
Right. Right. Right. So just put it all that into the, put that into your pipe and- It's quick... smoke it, Mr. Cameron Reece. It's responsive.
24:55
Uh, last, last thing on the agenda, I guess, since, well, by cracky, we're almost out of time. Darn it. Damn it. Um, so, uh, are, he's doing it again. Oops. I can't help it. Oops, he did it again.
25:10
You could also just put him in your pocket and squint. Fuck you. Make it, make your eye, make your finger hole really small and look through there. There. Oh. Yeah, there you go.
25:20
Uh, w- we, so we rode down to The Door today, Swinging Door, to have lunch, and- Dog day... that was actually, yep, two days ago. Uh, [laughs] and met Mr. Lunz, and he, he bought one of our state clunkers, black.
25:34
But now it's puck green- Mm... and also carbonized. It actually looked pretty cool. I, I was- Yeah? What do you mean carbonized on it?
25:41
He carbon, he used his welding torch and turned it way down and just had all the black carbon coming out of it, and it sticks to the frame, and then he cleared over it. So it's, I was, I got- It look, it's sharp. Oh.
25:51
It, it's pretty cool. I got pictures. I take all those bad things that, wait, no I don't. [laughs] Not all of them. I love you, Dave. I love you. Sometimes. Yeah, so I, I, we'll have a picture of that.
26:01
He's gonna do a little quick story on how he did it because it's a technique that other people have used, and I think it's pretty cool for doing kind of a, you know, a, a cool paint job on your bike if you wanna do it like that.
26:12
Yeah. Um- Or have Dave do it for you for a small price.
26:15
Yeah, and well, so the House of Rad guys, he's got a Dodge pickup of some description, and they have some other kinds of, like, stuff you can paint with that gives you that old look, weathered look.
26:29
And he did it first with a weathered, kinda like rust almost. It was like it's super old, and it was sitting out in Arizona forever.
26:36
And then they had some other shit that was, uh, copper, and you, it looked like copper when you went to put it on, but you could patina it right away. It's pretty cool stuff. Hm.
26:47
We're gonna have to be doing more custom frame coloring, I think, 'cause some of this stuff is really fun to do. Uh- Yeah, cool. Yeah. I have a few bikes I'll, I'll- Yeah, we can-... help paint...
26:58
we'll, well, we'll use them as, as, uh- As demos... crash test dummies to see- Yeah, absolutely... how it works and- [humming] [humming] What- What... is this-... is this... fucking-... fucking... bullshit?... bullshit?
27:12
Na, na, na. The tea at- Apparently, that's what the mm, mm, mm-... they played at- I have it on good authority that the-... shape... mm, mm, mm line- I remember-... was-... the monarchy...
27:20
instead of the mm, mm, was what is this fucking bullshit? Oh. Do, do, do, do, do, do, do. Is that Monty Python? Yeah. No, it's fucking Crash Test Dummies, goddamn it. [laughs] Oh. All right, everyone.
27:36
Y- Thanks for listening. I gotta go tell, uh, what's-his-mug over there he can turn his vac back on so he can get- The, the-... back to work... remember, tomorrow, 2:00 to 5:00- Tony's-... Black Husky... party.
27:46
Come hang out with Daniel. Be there- It's kinda cool... or be on the Tweed Ride. Or both. Be on the Tweed Ride and ride.
27:55
