- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Howdy, folks.
- 0:02[SPEAKER_00]: You've arrived at another Aggie McPherson mystery.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: This is the concluding chapter to the case with no client.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: Instead of giving a recap at this point, you're really just should start from the beginning.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: This case is a direct follow-up to the Aggie McPherson mystery of the case of the biting decision.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: So you may want to start there.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you enjoy.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if she's going to be okay.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: Dr. Imogen told McPherson.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: The inspector had brought in the young tribes home into the clinic, and Imogen was almost certainly breaking a number of hyperregulations by giving the inspector medical information with no loan conscious and unable to consent.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: Chief Varage though, well, he had an ordered personnel to work with McPherson, but he had made a strongly worded suggestion.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: Imageant didn't know how federal laws applied to her clinic anyway, and she really didn't care.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: The people who made those laws were the same as those who had herded her ancestors onto a small patch of land, so she considered the clinic her own sovereign nation.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: The clinic's newest resident was one no less strong, a young woman who had disappeared from tribal lands a few months ago.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: Most of the young people did that these days, and despite Nolan's reddish fuzzy hair and lighter skin, the doctor suspected she had as much luck as the rest of them.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: Now she was here, back home, and poisoned.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: With the same protective mesh she felt towards all dying breeds, Images said, I don't think she'll be able to answer any question, Maggie.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: The diminutive inspector shrugged in her charcoal suit, with her black hair and somber expression, she could have passed for a child polbearer.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: Chance of my questions on the way here, I wanted to know if I was right about the diagnosis.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: Imaging question to Aggie's story about having just metnola a few hours ago is true.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: Most people didn't appear this sad over a stranger.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: Image and thought about NOAA under the oxygen tent and decided that either way Aggie deserved answers for having broader this far.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: It looks that way, heavy metal poisoning, damaged respiratory and capillary systems, and it's hard to tell the extent of the damage just yet.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: Aggie turned to the doctor.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: The inspector didn't so much sweeper gaze as locker eyes on one thing than another, taking each into account before moving on to the next.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: Image and found this to be uncomfortable, as the full attention of her visitor landed on her.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: Under the focused gaze, she pushed a loose lock of her own dark hair behind a near, suddenly and a rationally concern that she hadn't had time to wash this morning.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: To cover up her sudden discomfort, she wondered a lot, she seems the type who would have better options than dangerous work.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: I wonder why she did it.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: Without hesitation, the egg answered, he made her feel special.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: who made her feel special.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna find out real soon.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: Aggie said with a certainty that imaging wasn't sure she liked, while it might be too frequent in occurrence, she didn't like violence around the clinic.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: The inspector's tone shifted back to the softer dynamic.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: She should be safe to move to another facility soon, if you need to do that.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: Imogen wasn't sure why Nolan needed the sanctuary for people's reservation, but she thought of Chief Verage and decided not to ask.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: Instead she said, that's good, we don't have the equipment or expertise to treat her here.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: Aggie nodded and spun her diminutive carriage towards the exit, blazer flapping as she executed in about face.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: At a slow gate she headed towards the exit, throwing away even a sear-round dock over her shoulder.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: Outside, the SUV that drove into the clinic parking lot was designed to look like trouble.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: Big and black, even the bumper and trim were matted into a mute darkness that seemed to absorb a light.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: Watching it from his taxi, Raffy pulled his cap low, slid down into a seat like he was taking a nap, and waited to see if it was enough trouble to warn his boss.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: Without realizing it, he smiled, this is what he loved about working for McPherson.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: Three white men get out of the SUV.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: They were all dressed in the same style.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: Close as plaque is the car they arrived in.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: Bulging jackets and dark turtlenecks protecting them from the cold blue off the river.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: Rafi had to hand it to them.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: They looked so serious.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: They went all the way around and came out the other side of Silly.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: With their uniform dress, they've almost appeared like a military unit.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: but one was so fat and the other so tall and thin that they could have been laurel and hearty Rafi decided he could wait on warning his boss.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: The man in front though, Rafi kept an eye on.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: He was fit in chewing on gum like he was practicing for the biting Olympics.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: When his gaze settled on Raffee's taxi, it's intensity felt like he was trying to melt it with heat vision.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: Or Raffee.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: McPherson's knock on the window startled him enough that his hat fell off his head.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: What he hated about working with the inspector was a pension vishnicking up on him.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't care for it.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's straightened up in his seat and rolled down the window, it's perfect electric purr reminding him of where he got the money from to keep his car well maintained.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: McPherson already had her eyes on the three men, but asked Raffee anyway.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: Anything interesting happening out here?
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: Raffee pulled his cap back on, tipping it towards the trio.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: The fine group of Goral you see just arrived.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: They hassle you yet.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: It seemed to be considering it much.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: Rafi pauses is the trio formed the world's smallest fan lengths and headed towards the taxi, and here they come now.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: McPherson watched the approach before saying, I guess I better go say hello.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: Rafi smiled to himself and despite the stiff wind coming off the river, rolled as window all the way down, he wanted to be able to hear everything.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: Rafi had wrestled with his father and brothers a long time, first in Pakistan, then in labor camps in Alahi, for fun, then competitiveness, then money.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: Since coming to the states he had fallen out of practice, he still knew enough to admire the way his boss managed to look casual walking over the three men, but with their small feet balanced carefully along the ice of the parking lot, leveraged against any possible attack.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: McPherson launched the first salvo.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, brave Legionnaires.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: Ruffy noticed this made no one happy.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: All three men stopped, Laurel and Hardy looking around as if they'd been spotted by a sniper.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: The one in front, if it were possible, intensified as glare.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: Rather than just stand there and look like an idiot though, at least had the good sense to close the remaining distance to McPherson.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: year that stupid Jew got boss well in trouble was his charming introduction.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: The inspector actually laughed, which wasn't something Rafi heard terribly often.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a lot of things she replied, but I'm not Abrahamic in any way.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: She bowed, head raised, so she could keep an eye on Wayne.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Aggie McPherson coming up to stand straight, she added, I think you're going to need to remember that.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: Fine, Mongral lover, have it your way.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: What are you doing here, McPherson?
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: There was a pause, as if McPherson were actually considering the question, then I don't think that's any of your business.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: You're here on Silver Shield's business, which makes it my business.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: McPherson responded with a slowness that suggested she had forgotten something.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: Um, sorry, who are you?
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: The man in front of Laurel and Hardy raised himself up, putting his full height against the diminutive inspector.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know who I am.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: McPherson took time with her response, leaving the honesty of it open question.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't the fanist idea.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: The man hitched his thumbs into his armpits, crossing his arms as he reevaluated Aggie.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Randall Wayne, and I'm here to collect the Rod Hado hired you to find.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Mr. Wayne, I'm not working for Hado.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: Raffy wished you could see McPherson's face.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't know from direct experience, but he bet she had a hell of a poker face.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: Don't bullshit me.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: He told me that he hired you.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: Raffy didn't have to strain to hear McPherson's reply even over the wind.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: No, he didn't.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: You're lying.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: The man took a step closer towering over the inspector.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: What did you just say?
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: Behind his sunglasses, Wayne surprised, show when McPherson took a step closer to him.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: I said, you're lying.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: Hado didn't tell you that.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, he didn't tell you the rod was missing.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: McPherson shifted her gaze from Wayne.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: round to the other two, then back to the lead Gora.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not working for Hato, so I know you're lying about that, which brings up all sorts of interesting questions, doesn't it?
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: What's that supposed to mean?
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, use your imagination, Randall?
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: Why would you think Kato hired me?
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: Why would you think I have the Roger talking about?
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: McPherson clocked in the manner that was unmistakable and it's a condensation.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: Would Kato be interested in you being here looking for the rod?
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: The last question actually made Randall Angriger, shoulders bunching arms on crossings so his hands had the freedom of curl and the fists.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Aggie might be able to handle herself, but Rafi found himself reaching for the door handle.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: If things were about to get violent, three against one odds weren't anyone's friend.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: Randall raised a fist, finger pointed towards Aggie.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: When she cut off any impending threat with, you really want to do that Randall.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: To start a fight, get arrested on tribal land.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think three white supremacists are going to do well in the custody of local law enforcement?
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: Rafi could practically see the glow of McPherson's smile reflect off the man's sunglasses.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure Chief Fairidge would order all three of you to get special attention.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: Randall may not look too bright, but Rafi can see that he must have a few brain cells.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: His pointed fingers slowly crawled back into his fist, and his mouth closed.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: McPherson continued, if you don't want to be arrested on tribal land, do you want to know what happens next?
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: Rafi could see Wayne clenches job, but couldn't hear what a response he uttered through clenched teeth.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: Mick Fiercean went on, if you don't want Hado to find out about our little encounter here and start asking questions, you're going to leave Nolan's strong alone, and you're going to stay out of my way.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I think this lock to keep PD may start turning up clues on who committed those unexplained robberies for the last few months.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: Seems like there's all sorts of trouble headed your way.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: The smile reflected in Randall's sunglasses increased if you can, Delas.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'd disappear if I were you.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: Randall stepped forward nearly bumping his chest into McPherson, who was unmoved.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: His mouth worked around whatever threats he wanted to spit.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: Then, Laurel stepped forward and a hands-up doubt of the Inspector's pocket to touch him on his chest in the thin man collapsed.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: Randall cursed at him as Hardy went to pick him up, then stepped back from McPherson, muttering a threat so watered down, it didn't reach Rafi.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: The trio headed back to the SUV, Hardy helping a wheezing and limping laurel, Randall stomping across the ice.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: As they went, McPherson waved at them as if she were giving them a bon voyage to a departing vessel.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: And joy, Idaho, boys.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: Inside joke, but don't ever go to Idaho.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, Rafi started the car, not sure if you cared about what that meant, where to?
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: Back to the office, even with Randall and his little hit squad out of the way, I don't think this is over yet.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: Rafi's side is he watched the trio get back into the black SUV.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: The trip to the boondhouse, now this run-in with Wayne, who was in addition to being a Gandhu, a Gora supremacist, and a dangerous, potentially violent criminal.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: Getting mixed up with his silver shields wasn't something he was sure he wanted.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: Deep in these thoughts, Rafi nearly swatted at a shoulder when he felt a light touch, prepared to assassinate whatever spider or bug had a light at there.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: Instead he found himself staring at his boss's pale hand, a fold of sizable bills between the carefully manicured fingers.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: He chuckled to himself and took it.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: McPherson padded him on the shoulder and then indicated the seat belt.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: Safety first.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: Roughly smiled, put on a seat belt, and pointed the car back towards floctor key.
