  Speaker 6: I will always probably do if she ever comes back,

  Speaker 6: and I know she will tell us about the story

  Speaker 6: about how we met because I like your version.

  Speaker 3: And then you know, I'm going to the big I'm

  Speaker 3: gonna tell the other poet.

  Speaker 7: You're gonna tell the unsolicit version of how events. But

  Speaker 7: we actually met first before we really knew that we met,

  Speaker 7: which is crazy. But I received a text message from

  Speaker 7: you on March the nineteenth, and you are looking for
• 4:54
  Speaker 7: someone to help you publish your book because you had
• 4:58
  Speaker 7: an event coming up on May the sixteenth, and you
• 5:02
  Speaker 7: have been trying to get your book done and you
• 5:05
  Speaker 7: have been trying to do it on your own, and
• 5:07
  Speaker 7: you had ran into some issues and you were overwhelmed
• 5:10
  Speaker 7: and so flustered and frustrated with the whole situation. And
• 5:15
  Speaker 7: I was like, okay, I just give me what you have.
• 5:19
  Speaker 7: Let me see, I said, but I will be honest
• 5:21
  Speaker 7: with you. I take a fifty dollars non refundable deposit
• 5:25
  Speaker 7: before anything, because people say that they're ready to publish
• 5:29
  Speaker 7: a book, and.
• 5:29
  Speaker 4: Then they don't.
• 5:30
  Speaker 7: They waste my time and they waste your time, their
• 5:34
  Speaker 7: own personal time. So I do that first because I
• 5:38
  Speaker 7: need to know how serious you are about it. And
• 5:41
  Speaker 7: you were like, I'm really serious. I need to have
• 5:43
  Speaker 7: this done, and I've tried to do this and it's
• 5:45
  Speaker 7: not working out. I've had to do this and every
• 5:47
  Speaker 7: time I send it to KDP, they send it back
• 5:49
  Speaker 7: to me. Okay, that's neither here nor there. Send me
• 5:53
  Speaker 7: what you have and I'll take a look at it
• 5:55
  Speaker 7: and we'll go from there. And that was March to nineteenth.

  Speaker 7: Everything from there is pretty much history because it was
• 6:03
  Speaker 7: done and completed.

  Speaker 3: Yeah, within like three weeks.

  Speaker 6: You got everything done within like three weeks, and literally

  Speaker 6: NKDP published like everything. I was struggling. I ain't gonna lie, y'all.

  Speaker 3: I was trying to write this book.

  Speaker 6: Well actually I wrote the book, but I was trying
• 6:21
  Speaker 6: to put it together and put everything into k baby.
• 6:24
  Speaker 3: I didn't know what I was doing at all. I
• 6:25
  Speaker 3: had no clue on what I was doing, and I
• 6:29
  Speaker 3: was struggling.
• 6:30
  Speaker 6: Even people that did could have figured it out for me,
• 6:34
  Speaker 6: couldn't do it.
• 6:35
  Speaker 3: It was both overs struggling me and my post soon.
• 6:39
  Speaker 8: We know what to do and that word all over
• 6:44
  Speaker 8: the place, and I was like, hey, yeah, that's that's
• 6:47
  Speaker 8: not that's not working, so let me figure this out.
• 6:50
  Speaker 4: And I put it all together.

  Speaker 7: I got it, you know, how it needed to be,
• 6:54
  Speaker 7: and added a couple of finish and touches here and there,

  Speaker 7: and you know, send it back. And I was like,

  Speaker 7: and you were like, well it's supposed to be this, okay,
• 7:02
  Speaker 7: Well we're not worried.

  Speaker 4: About any of that. So overwhelmed.

  Speaker 7: There were so many conversations that we had and like,
• 7:10
  Speaker 7: well I just feel so discouraged.
• 7:12
  Speaker 4: Okay, wells what we're gonna do. We're gonna worry about
• 7:14
  Speaker 4: this time.

  Speaker 3: Yeah, I better have that. Yeah, literally, and we're.
• 7:21
  Speaker 4: Gonna make sure that it is done and completed.

  Speaker 7: But we're not gonna have that defeated spirit over this
• 7:27
  Speaker 7: because it's it's not because the devil will come into
• 7:32
  Speaker 7: play if you give him the opportunity in the space,

  Speaker 7: and we were not giving him that that space.

  Speaker 6: So absolutely, and I and I'm and I you know,

  Speaker 6: like I said, you calmed me down, and I was like,

  Speaker 6: you know, I got put back together because I went aboard.

  Speaker 3: Yeah, but you helped me commact down and stuff.

  Speaker 6: So we got the book published and we met the

  Speaker 6: deadline literally and I was like so happy I was

  Speaker 6: able to get my not then we had another word
• 8:04
  Speaker 6: because I was worried about it if the books was
• 8:06
  Speaker 6: gonna get that in time for the event, But that
• 8:09
  Speaker 6: happened too, So yeah, just a blessing for everything to
• 8:14
  Speaker 6: come together. But the main thing that I liked and
• 8:17
  Speaker 6: I loved about you, but liked about you is that
• 8:21
  Speaker 6: like you're patient. Right, listen, if anybody again, if anybody
• 8:25
  Speaker 6: can hear me in earshot, if you want someone that's patient, understanding,
• 8:32
  Speaker 6: that can understand the frustrations of learning how to do this,
• 8:36
  Speaker 6: don't know how to do it, don't want nothing to
• 8:38
  Speaker 6: do with it at all. It's just then I want
• 8:41
  Speaker 6: them to do it at all. I will try to
• 8:43
  Speaker 6: figure out other things. But that book thing, yeah, it

  Speaker 6: wasn't for me.

  Speaker 3: She is to go to.

  Speaker 6: She is understanding, She she loves the editing, she listens,

  Speaker 6: she loved it. I'm not I wanted it for English

  Speaker 6: that we wasn't for me, So pass that off to her.

  Speaker 6: But let's get into this. Listen my questions that I
• 9:06
  Speaker 6: want to ask, will first be what does chasing the
• 9:11
  Speaker 6: yes mean to you?
• 9:13
  Speaker 3: What does that mean to you?
• 9:15
  Speaker 4: Chasing the yes that? Oh, that's a loaded question, is
• 9:19
  Speaker 4: it so?
• 9:20
  Speaker 7: Because for the longest I was always trying to avoid
• 9:25
  Speaker 7: chasing anything, mainly because when you you you have to
• 9:31
  Speaker 7: be able to say yes to God first, and when
• 9:35
  Speaker 7: God wants you to do something, you have to truly surrender.
• 9:41
  Speaker 7: And there's so many things that he was telling me
• 9:44
  Speaker 7: to do and how to be obedient and all of this,
• 9:48
  Speaker 7: and that's that leads me to where I am with
• 9:51
  Speaker 7: my publishing business and everything. And so me saying yes
• 9:56
  Speaker 7: to the very first book I published, I had to
• 10:00
  Speaker 7: say yes to that because I was truly truly avoiding that.
• 10:06
  Speaker 7: And once I started saying yes to what he was
• 10:10
  Speaker 7: telling me to do, I've been chasing every since and
• 10:14
  Speaker 7: chasing what he's been calling me to do. Now, I
• 10:18
  Speaker 7: still get a little stubborn sometimes and be like, Okay, God,
• 10:22
  Speaker 7: I'm not I'm not sure that you sent this to
• 10:24
  Speaker 7: the right address. You know, I think you you got
• 10:28
  Speaker 7: the wrong person. The same for me, I think you
• 10:33
  Speaker 7: got me mixed up with somebody else. This is at
• 10:35
  Speaker 7: the wrong house.
• 10:36
  Speaker 4: This is the same but he's persistent, and you.
• 10:42
  Speaker 7: Know how God is, He's gonna tell you that this
• 10:45
  Speaker 7: is for I didn't mix this up with nobody, but
• 10:50
  Speaker 7: chasing the yes means being obedient to what God is
• 10:53
  Speaker 7: calling you to do. And I love to say yes
• 10:58
  Speaker 7: more so now than saying no.

  Speaker 4: Because even with.
• 11:05
  Speaker 7: Just the event that you just did, you know, I
• 11:08
  Speaker 7: was still saying no in the system of when you
• 11:12
  Speaker 7: were to speak. Originally at a short event, I said no,
• 11:17
  Speaker 7: I know, absolutely not, that's not what I do. Because
• 11:22
  Speaker 7: we were just sharing, you know, our own personal journeys
• 11:25
  Speaker 7: and our own personal testimonies. And you were like, well,
• 11:29
  Speaker 7: this is in aligne with you know, my event I
• 11:32
  Speaker 7: am becoming.
• 11:33
  Speaker 4: And I was like, yeah, I'm not.
• 11:35
  Speaker 7: Really sharing what I'm sharing with you because of this
• 11:39
  Speaker 7: is just this is part of the reason why.
• 11:42
  Speaker 4: I do what I do. But it's in a line.
• 11:45
  Speaker 4: I said, I get all that, but I'm not a speaker.
• 11:48
  Speaker 4: That's not what I do.
• 11:49
  Speaker 7: And if we after we got off the phone call,
• 11:52
  Speaker 7: God was like, I don't know why you told that, lady. No,
• 11:55
  Speaker 7: you go like, this is a line with what you've
• 12:01
  Speaker 7: been doing. You asked for me to push you out
• 12:03
  Speaker 7: of your comfort zone.
• 12:05
  Speaker 4: Every year.
• 12:06
  Speaker 7: This is part of the prayer that you've prayed, and
• 12:09
  Speaker 7: you need to do this.
• 12:11
  Speaker 4: This is what you have been called to do. So
• 12:15
  Speaker 4: you gonna tell her yes the next conversation y'all have.
• 12:19
  Speaker 7: And I'm like, God, look look here now, sir.
• 12:23
  Speaker 6: If I was calling you every day.
• 12:27
  Speaker 7: So and I still didn't bring it up right away.
• 12:30
  Speaker 7: I waited a couple of days before I said anything
• 12:33
  Speaker 7: about it because I'm still in conversation with him, like, Sir,
• 12:38
  Speaker 7: I'm not sure this is what I need to be
• 12:40
  Speaker 7: doing because I want to go and support. I don't
• 12:44
  Speaker 7: want to go and speak. And he kept saying, I
• 12:47
  Speaker 7: didn't ask you what you wanted to do. This is
• 12:50
  Speaker 7: what you need to do because someone else needs to
• 12:52
  Speaker 7: hear your story.
• 12:53
  Speaker 4: Someone else needs.
• 12:54
  Speaker 7: To hear your testimony, because what you don't understand is
• 12:58
  Speaker 7: that you are the blueprint for someone else, and you
• 13:01
  Speaker 7: need to say what you've been through because the things
• 13:04
  Speaker 7: that you have been through are things that people need
• 13:08
  Speaker 7: to know that it looks better on the other side
• 13:11
  Speaker 7: just because what they've gone through today, and it doesn't
• 13:16
  Speaker 7: stay that way.
• 13:17
  Speaker 4: It gets better over time. You just have to keep.
• 13:20
  Speaker 7: One foot in front of the other and you are
• 13:23
  Speaker 7: a walking, living testimony.
• 13:26
  Speaker 4: So somebody needs to hear that, right, right, So that's
• 13:31
  Speaker 4: how you're arguing.
• 13:34
  Speaker 6: And I mean, the reason why I named my podcast
• 13:37
  Speaker 6: Chasing It Yes. It absolutely started with me being obedient
• 13:42
  Speaker 6: to the Father because at first, you know, I was
• 13:46
  Speaker 6: trying to think of you know, like, what what am
• 13:48
  Speaker 6: I supposed to be doing?
• 13:49
  Speaker 4: Right?
• 13:50
  Speaker 3: And I know that I'm good at business.
• 13:52
  Speaker 6: I know that, and I've heard so many nos in
• 13:54
  Speaker 6: my life, being in customer service, on being inself, know
• 14:00
  Speaker 6: what I'm saying, and that one that one yes. When
• 14:03
  Speaker 6: you get that one yes and seals, you're like, okay, yes,
• 14:07
  Speaker 6: and I could get another one.
• 14:08
  Speaker 3: I know, I can, you know what I mean.
• 14:09
  Speaker 6: But the same thing goes for the Father, Like once
• 14:13
  Speaker 6: you get that one yes from him, you're gonna continue
• 14:16
  Speaker 6: to chase the yeses, right if you continue to do
• 14:20
  Speaker 6: what you can to please him.
• 14:22
  Speaker 3: And so.
• 14:24
  Speaker 6: That's why I initially literally named it Chasing the Yes,
• 14:28
  Speaker 6: because I'm chasing him and what he has for me,
• 14:32
  Speaker 6: and the yesses comes behind, you know what I mean,
• 14:35
  Speaker 6: you being to accomplish the things that he has for me.
• 14:39
  Speaker 3: And so that's why I.
• 14:40
  Speaker 6: Named it Chasing the Yes and chasing the yes for
• 14:43
  Speaker 6: me means for me to just be in obedience. Chasing
• 14:47
  Speaker 6: the yes chases yes, right, and so that's why I
• 14:51
  Speaker 6: name my show Chasing the Yes. And so what challenges
• 14:55
  Speaker 6: do you believe in chasing the yes you faced?
• 14:59
  Speaker 3: What challenges have you have you faced?
• 15:05
  Speaker 5: Jesus Okay, when I first started the journey of chasing
• 15:12
  Speaker 5: my chasing the Yes, in the beginning, it was very,
• 15:18
  Speaker 5: very difficult because I had no idea what I was doing.
• 15:23
  Speaker 7: I had no clue on how to run a business
• 15:27
  Speaker 7: at all. And so the first year it looked like
• 15:32
  Speaker 7: failure in my opinion, because there was no clients, there
• 15:37
  Speaker 7: was no sales, there was no anything like I was
• 15:40
  Speaker 7: only selling books. And then I got my first client,
• 15:46
  Speaker 7: and it was like, what am I supposed to do
• 15:50
  Speaker 7: with this client? But I knew how to format, I
• 15:55
  Speaker 7: knew how to edit. But it was also I was
• 15:58
  Speaker 7: going through my mother's transition. She was in the final
• 16:03
  Speaker 7: stages of life, and I'm like, God, this is a
• 16:07
  Speaker 7: true test for me, and I'm not sure if I
• 16:10
  Speaker 7: can meet the deadline that my client has. And it's
• 16:14
  Speaker 7: not just her, it's five other authors that are part
• 16:19
  Speaker 7: of this collaboration book that she has and she's entrusting me,
• 16:23
  Speaker 7: and I'm not even sure.
• 16:25
  Speaker 4: I've done it for.
• 16:26
  Speaker 7: Myself not once, but twice, but actually three books that
• 16:30
  Speaker 7: I've done for myself personally, but this is a book
• 16:33
  Speaker 7: for someone else, and not just one person, but five
• 16:37
  Speaker 7: additional people. And it's a deadline that I have to meet,
• 16:42
  Speaker 7: but not just a deadline that she's given me, but
• 16:45
  Speaker 7: a deadline that I need to give to her so
• 16:47
  Speaker 7: that if there's some corrections that need to be made
• 16:50
  Speaker 7: before this deadline, I still want to make sure that
• 16:53
  Speaker 7: I'm meeting that.
• 16:54
  Speaker 4: And so it was like a lot of.
• 16:56
  Speaker 7: Pressure and still trying to be present for my mom
• 16:59
  Speaker 7: and be there for her, and I didn't want to
• 17:01
  Speaker 7: miss anything because I still want to make sure that we.
• 17:04
  Speaker 4: Had enough time. And I was like, God, this is
• 17:06
  Speaker 4: a lot. This is a.
• 17:08
  Speaker 7: Lot for me to be obedient and to be present
• 17:11
  Speaker 7: and to be you know, available to everyone who needed
• 17:16
  Speaker 7: me at that time. And it was it was a
• 17:22
  Speaker 7: true challenge, but I was able to fulfill everything that
• 17:28
  Speaker 7: God had put on me. And it was like, Okay, God,
• 17:31
  Speaker 7: you really showed me what I was capable of doing
• 17:37
  Speaker 7: and me being obedient, let me know that you heard
• 17:41
  Speaker 7: the prayers that I prayed. You made sure that I
• 17:46
  Speaker 7: was capable of doing what you have instilled in me.
• 17:52
  Speaker 7: Everything that I had gone through, my puzzle pieces were
• 17:57
  Speaker 7: falling into place, and so everything that didn't make sense
• 18:01
  Speaker 7: to me was now making sense.
• 18:03
  Speaker 4: It was like, okay, well, when this happened in.
• 18:07
  Speaker 7: Two thousand and five is now happening in twenty twenty three.
• 18:12
  Speaker 7: That puzzle piece fit perfectly in what was happening, and
• 18:16
  Speaker 7: so it was like, Okay, now I get it. It
• 18:19
  Speaker 7: didn't make sense before because it felt out of place,
• 18:23
  Speaker 7: and so it was like, Okay, I see what you're doing.
• 18:28
  Speaker 7: Everything don't always make sense when it's supposed to make sense,
• 18:31
  Speaker 7: but when you be obedient and follow his instructions, it
• 18:36
  Speaker 7: makes sense. So just doing what God tells you to do,
• 18:42
  Speaker 7: and it always gotta make sense.
• 18:45
  Speaker 3: Now. My challenges were I believe.
• 18:50
  Speaker 6: I still do it. I still go through the challenges,
• 18:54
  Speaker 6: but I'm more confident now. But I had so much
• 18:57
  Speaker 6: doubt about who I really was, who I really am
• 19:01
  Speaker 6: for the kingdom. You know what I'm saying, Like I
• 19:04
  Speaker 6: have doubts. I have I still have doubts, but the
• 19:08
  Speaker 6: Father brings me, he reals me back in like Aliita,
• 19:10
  Speaker 6: I listen, this is what I said.
• 19:13
  Speaker 3: This is what it is. That's what you're gonna do, right,
• 19:15
  Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying, Like even the event.
• 19:19
  Speaker 6: The becoming the them, the becoming the iyem.
• 19:23
  Speaker 3: Yeah, he kept saying you have to speak, you have
• 19:27
  Speaker 3: to speak, and I kept saying, no, I'm speaking.
• 19:29
  Speaker 6: It's for them, like that's for them to do, Like
• 19:31
  Speaker 6: I'm not supposed to be a speaker, and he said,
• 19:34
  Speaker 6: yes you are. And so just so happened a girl
• 19:37
  Speaker 6: didn't show up, and he was like, yeah, so yeah,
• 19:42
  Speaker 6: you know what I'm saying, Those like I didn't. I
• 19:45
  Speaker 6: wasn't sure, you know what I mean, Like I don't
• 19:46
  Speaker 6: have a problem with speaking in front of people. Yeah,
• 19:49
  Speaker 6: you know what I'm saying, it's just a doubt of
• 19:52
  Speaker 6: am I capable of getting through this? Even you know people,
• 19:56
  Speaker 6: we get the jitters sometimes, you know what I mean.
• 19:58
  Speaker 6: So that that creed up for a little bit. And
• 20:01
  Speaker 6: then as I started talking, you know what I'm saying,
• 20:04
  Speaker 6: I allowed the Holy Spirit to set in and he
• 20:07
  Speaker 6: was able to be able to give the story that
• 20:09
  Speaker 6: I have and sometimes us reaching back to tell the.
• 20:13
  Speaker 3: Stories of our life.
• 20:15
  Speaker 6: It's kind of heavy on that and that's when the
• 20:17
  Speaker 6: Holy Spirit comes in and he says, I got you.
• 20:20
  Speaker 3: It's just what you have to do. And the people
• 20:22
  Speaker 3: that are here has to hear this, because even if
• 20:26
  Speaker 3: a person says, you know, that's not my story and
• 20:29
  Speaker 3: I didn't have to hear I didn't it wasn't for me,
• 20:32
  Speaker 3: they'll never forget the story that you gave them, and
• 20:35
  Speaker 3: they'll remember this is what she went through and look
• 20:38
  Speaker 3: at what she looks like now, like how she got
• 20:41
  Speaker 3: over that. And so you transitioning from the pain, the
• 20:46

  Speaker 7: this year, and I wrote the first five chapters of

  Speaker 7: Like, Okay, you need to finish that book before you

  Speaker 7: move because it needs to be complete it.

  Speaker 7: One Sunday, I was like one Saturday night, I was like, Okay,

  Speaker 7: Friday and Saturday I finished the last two chapters because

  Speaker 7: he was like it only needs to be seven chapters.

  Speaker 7: I don't need you to do anything more than seven.

  Speaker 7: And any book that I do, they will always be

  Speaker 7: seven chapters. It will never be any more than that,

  Speaker 7: because that's what he tells me all the time, seven chapters.

  Speaker 7: And so I'm like okay, and so I'm like okay,

  Speaker 4: I finished the book.

  Speaker 7: And then the crazy part about it is, you know,

  Speaker 7: whenever you upload the books to kt B, it usually

  Speaker 7: tells you seventy two hours before it's ready. I uploaded

  Speaker 7: that book on Saturday night, early Sunday morning, well Saturday
• 32:52
  Speaker 7: after Sunday afternoon, I get a notification that my book

  Speaker 7: had already been accepted, and I'm like, god, hold on,

  Speaker 7: wait a minute, now, this was not the seventy two
• 33:02
  Speaker 7: hour waiting period. What has happened? And I was like, okay,
• 33:07
  Speaker 7: something is going on this and it just let me
• 33:10
  Speaker 7: know that that book was definitely overdue. And the other

  Speaker 7: part is I'm still a little irristating because I have
• 33:22
  Speaker 7: I haven't ordered my copy of the book yet, but

  Speaker 7: my brother ordered his and got his book before I
• 33:28
  Speaker 7: even got my home comer, and so like, y'all have

  Speaker 7: done it, so you don't send me a picture him

  Speaker 7: and his wife have the book and I'm like, goull

  Speaker 7: going and y'all got the.
