- 2:39Speaker 6: Look?
- 2:39Speaker 4: Well, you're rocking the kind of the dark look today
- 2:43Speaker 4: I'm usually seeing.
- 2:43Speaker 5: Well, when I leave here, I'm going to uh beat
- 2:47Speaker 5: my brains out and work out. Okay, to work out.
- 2:51Speaker 5: I didn't think I needed to come with a pretty
- 2:53Speaker 5: blouse and matching pants, all right, So.
- 2:56Speaker 4: What's the workout routine for Milli Snyder love.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Well, it's the various thing. I go to Nautilus in
- 3:02Speaker 5: Kenos City and I work with a trainer and he
- 3:05Speaker 5: puts me through a very rigorous half an hour and
- 3:08Speaker 5: I do a variety of things and I love it.
- 3:11Speaker 5: And I've been going most of this year twice a week,
- 3:15Speaker 5: sometimes three times a week. And I also think that
- 3:19Speaker 5: being physically active no matter how old you are. And
- 3:25Speaker 5: I am beginning to get older, although I'm in heavy
- 3:28Speaker 5: denial about that.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Well you're early as old as you feel.
- 3:31Speaker 5: Well, that's true. And I think I feel like i'm
- 3:33Speaker 5: fifty one.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Well there you go.
- 3:34Speaker 5: So I don't know what fifty one felt like, but
- 3:36Speaker 5: it was. But I'm very grateful for the way that
- 3:39Speaker 5: I eat. I'm very grateful for my ability to exercise.
- 3:44Speaker 5: And I have some very very exciting things happening next week. Okay,
- 3:48Speaker 5: as many people know, I wasn't born in Charleston, albeit
- 3:51Speaker 5: a Charleston is my home.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Got here's fastly as fastly, got here as quickly as
- 3:55Speaker 4: you could, they say, right.
- 3:57Speaker 5: Yes, And that was nineteen sixty nine. So I'm here
- 4:01Speaker 5: a very long time, thank goodness. And next week I'll
- 4:04Speaker 5: be in Baltimore and I'm attending my sixty fifth high
- 4:09Speaker 5: school reunion. Wow, I'm going to find out how many
- 4:12Speaker 5: of us across the line and actually made it. No,
- 4:17Speaker 5: it's going to be exciting.
- 4:18Speaker 4: I mean, if you crossed the line and actually made.
- 4:20Speaker 5: Across the line to still being alive.
- 4:22Speaker 4: Okay, that's that's such an eloquent way to put him.
- 4:25Speaker 4: I'm sure.
- 4:26Speaker 7: Yes.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Well, I mean, so I've attended most of my high
- 4:32Speaker 4: school reunions. It was actually on the committee for a
- 4:35Speaker 4: few of them. And you know, high school reunions, it
- 4:37Speaker 4: seems like they're not what they used to be, mainly
- 4:39Speaker 4: because of Facebook, because people keep up with who they
- 4:41Speaker 4: want to keep up with. But do you have that's
- 4:43Speaker 4: very true? Do you have a good? Yeah? I mean
- 4:45Speaker 4: because I say that because when I had my ten
- 4:46Speaker 4: year high school reunion, the DJ that we hired said
- 4:49Speaker 4: it was the best one he'd ever had because as
- 4:51Speaker 4: far as the amount of people that came, I mean
- 4:53Speaker 4: we had, I mean, you know, it's hundreds of people
- 4:56Speaker 4: that showed up, counting spouses and so on and so forth.
- 4:59Speaker 4: And then the last one we had, we had approximately
- 5:01Speaker 4: fifteen or twenty that shown up. And so how is
- 5:06Speaker 4: yours I would send.
- 5:08Speaker 5: When we graduated June nineteen sixty, which was right after
- 5:13Speaker 5: Columbus arrived here. But nonetheless we were a year of
- 5:18Speaker 5: five hundred and seventy three people. Okay, so I have
- 5:21Speaker 5: a lot of things to see when we have this.
- 5:24Speaker 5: It's a luncheon on next saturd.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Of the ninety. See, I'm trying to picture Millie Snyder
- 5:28Speaker 4: in high school. I mean, were you popular, you in
- 5:31Speaker 4: the band, cheerleader, none of.
- 5:34Speaker 5: The above, None of the above, And what I was
- 5:36Speaker 5: doing at that time of my life. I was fighting
- 5:39Speaker 5: my weight then, and I was morbidly obese at my graduation,
- 5:45Speaker 5: and morbidly obese means the numbers were very high, and
- 5:48Speaker 5: sadly for me because I wanted to lose weight. But
- 5:53Speaker 5: in that time of my life, the only things that
- 5:55Speaker 5: were available, Dave were diet pills or starving counting calories,
- 6:01Speaker 5: and I tried everything and nothing worked. So for my graduation,
- 6:08Speaker 5: which was June sixty, in order to wear a white dress,
- 6:14Speaker 5: my seamstress and not my seamstress, but the seamtress that
- 6:19Speaker 5: my mother my sister used, actually had to make my
- 6:22Speaker 5: dress really and it was that painful. Yes, and so
- 6:27Speaker 5: I can relate with people who are struggling. And that's
- 6:31Speaker 5: why I have been so proud to have been the
- 6:36Speaker 5: gal who brought weight Watchers to West Virginia. And then
- 6:39Speaker 5: when all of that changed because I sold back to
- 6:43Speaker 5: the company in twenty thirteen, three years later, I wanted
- 6:47Speaker 5: to keep doing what I do, which is very simply
- 6:50Speaker 5: help people help themselves. So I represent the Mediterranean lifestyle
- 6:55Speaker 5: and it is getting more and more respect, not just
- 6:59Speaker 5: from the users, but from the medical community. And if
- 7:03Speaker 5: people say, well, I don't want to do it because
- 7:06Speaker 5: I don't like homess and don't eat homss. And if
- 7:09Speaker 5: I don't want to do it because there's a particular
- 7:12Speaker 5: thing that you don't like, don't eat that particular thing,
- 7:16Speaker 5: but come to the group, enjoy a group. Support Weight
- 7:22Speaker 5: loss right now is taking everybody by storm with the GLP,
- 7:27Speaker 5: and there are also a lot of knockoffs for that
- 7:29Speaker 5: particular drug. We still have to learn how to eat
- 7:33Speaker 5: at somewhere in this whole puzzle. We have to make
- 7:39Speaker 5: peace with the fact that we need to eat healthfully
- 7:43Speaker 5: so that we can continue to live our life. And
- 7:46Speaker 5: Mediterranean eating is old, tried and true and it's safe,
- 7:52Speaker 5: so I am happy to say that we change locations.
- 7:55Speaker 5: We're over at Trinity Evangelical.
- 7:58Speaker 4: This is your meetings you're talking about.
- 8:00Speaker 5: Every Thursday, we do a morning and an evening, tenth
- 8:03Speaker 5: in the morning, five point thirty in the evening and
- 8:07Speaker 5: group support makes the difference. The program is fabulous. We
- 8:10Speaker 5: have lots of success happening well. We now have a
- 8:13Speaker 5: presence on Facebook and if anybody wants to look it up,
- 8:17Speaker 5: just put in Mediterranean mindset and join us. Come and
- 8:22Speaker 5: find out what we're all about.
- 8:23Speaker 4: But Dave Alan showing five eighty Live is brought to
- 8:25Speaker 4: you parted by Morgan to Morgan, America's largest injury law firm.
- 8:28Speaker 4: If you're injured, visit for the People dot com. I
- 8:30Speaker 4: want to ask you. There's been a lot in the
- 8:32Speaker 4: news here nearly lately about the battles over insurance, you
- 8:36Speaker 4: know in West Virginia, Peia, but also insurance issues across
- 8:39Speaker 4: the country. And one of the things that always gets
- 8:42Speaker 4: brought up is the battle over some of these drugs
- 8:45Speaker 4: you talked about. Now, I would imagine that for some
- 8:49Speaker 4: it's a double edged sword. I mean, if you're sitting
- 8:51Speaker 4: back and listening to the discussion about this because on
- 8:54Speaker 4: one hand, you've you devoted your life to making people healthy,
- 8:59Speaker 4: first weight watchers, now the Mediterranean living and the class
- 9:01Speaker 4: and so on and so forth, and we, I guess
- 9:04Speaker 4: we realized that some people truly need these medications. But
- 9:08Speaker 4: I would imagine not trying to get into your head here,
- 9:10Speaker 4: but I would imagine that you kind of approach this
- 9:13Speaker 4: a little bit differently, because while you want people to
- 9:16Speaker 4: be healthy, I don't know that you Here's what I've
- 9:18Speaker 4: learned from you. I don't know that you think that
- 9:20Speaker 4: you want to make some of these drugs more readily
- 9:23Speaker 4: available to people just to lose weight.
- 9:25Speaker 5: I do not, because I've seen it happen time and
- 9:28Speaker 5: time again, and at the end of the drug experience,
- 9:33Speaker 5: they're in the same place. Right, nothing has changed. I
- 9:37Speaker 5: haven't learned what I need to learn, and as a
- 9:39Speaker 5: result of that, I'm back at square one. I mean,
- 9:43Speaker 5: I've watched I remember the days of finfin, and then
- 9:47Speaker 5: a new drug came along.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I've heard in a while I forgot about that one.
- 9:50Speaker 5: Oh, I've been forgotten about it. The lawsuits were raging
- 9:53Speaker 5: across not just West Virginia. They were raising raging across
- 9:57Speaker 5: the country, and at that time time, no one came
- 10:01Speaker 5: to weight watchers because they believed the cure, the magic
- 10:06Speaker 5: had come. However, we also learned that it created mitrio
- 10:10Speaker 5: valve heart dysfunction. There was another drug that was because
- 10:15Speaker 5: the other drug was making too much money, so somebody
- 10:17Speaker 5: came up with reducts and that created primary pulmonary hypertension.
- 10:22Speaker 5: And once you developed those maladies, they didn't go away.
- 10:26Speaker 5: That you were stuck with them. Now, no one needs
- 10:29Speaker 5: to be faulted. What did they want to have happened?
- 10:32Speaker 5: They wanted to lose weight ageah, but they didn't want
- 10:35Speaker 5: to now be sick as a result of that. And
- 10:38Speaker 5: I have to tell you, during that period, many people
- 10:41Speaker 5: lost their life because their bodies weren't healthy enough to
- 10:45Speaker 5: sustain the injury that was occurring.
- 10:48Speaker 4: And now we're seeing it with these new drugs. And
- 10:49Speaker 4: I don't you can't watch the you can't watch your
- 10:52Speaker 4: TV news at night in a network or whatever that
- 10:55Speaker 4: you're not constantly bombarded with these with these ads for
- 10:58Speaker 4: these things.
- 10:58Speaker 5: And that's because there's a lot of money behind that.
- 11:01Speaker 5: And the money is I'm not We're not talking a
- 11:04Speaker 5: few hundred dollars. Oh yeah, we're talking millions, millions, and
- 11:08Speaker 5: one of the one of the companies I saw on
- 11:10Speaker 5: the internet just laid off nine thousand people because there
- 11:15Speaker 5: are so many generics coming down the pipe, right.
- 11:19Speaker 4: And I have been a big believer in this uh
- 11:22Speaker 4: And you can agree or disagree, and listeners can agree
- 11:24Speaker 4: or disagree.
- 11:25Speaker 8: I have.
- 11:25Speaker 4: I've always been a believer that there's never there's never
- 11:28Speaker 4: been a problem that that throwing more and more medicine
- 11:34Speaker 4: at is the answer. Now, some people obviously have to
- 11:36Speaker 4: have certain medications. I get that, of course, but no
- 11:41Speaker 4: matter what the problem is, I mean, if you want
- 11:44Speaker 4: to be one of these people, I mean, I've seen people,
- 11:46Speaker 4: and I know you've seen them. You've got friends, I've
- 11:48Speaker 4: had family members and so on and so worth that
- 11:50Speaker 4: their life revolves around pills. Their life revolves around going
- 11:54Speaker 4: to this time. There's so many things that that we
- 11:56Speaker 4: and I'm as guilty as anybody for not adhering to
- 11:58Speaker 4: it sometimes, but there's so many things that we can do.
- 12:01Speaker 4: They'll keep you out of the doctor's office, and we'll
- 12:03Speaker 4: keep these poisons out of your body because a lot
- 12:05Speaker 4: of them, quite frankly, are are deadly to the body.
- 12:09Speaker 5: Absolutely, and especially this weight loss a drug that is
- 12:12Speaker 5: in all the glps. It actually begins with the gea
- 12:16Speaker 5: monster and they've taken the poison from that and re
- 12:20Speaker 5: manufactured it into something that's not toxic, but it's the
- 12:25Speaker 5: element that creates the sensation of not being hungry. And
- 12:30Speaker 5: I'm very frightened for all of these things. In the
- 12:33Speaker 5: years of my life, as I tried to lose weight,
- 12:36Speaker 5: I went from one bariatric doctor to the other. And
- 12:40Speaker 5: while I'm not proud to tell you this, I was
- 12:42Speaker 5: forced to go to the first bariatric doctor when I
- 12:46Speaker 5: was eleven years old because my family called me some
- 12:50Speaker 5: very unpleasant names and I was, as I said, I'm
- 12:53Speaker 5: repeating myself, eleven years old. So what did I learn?
- 12:56Speaker 5: I took pills, and then when they didn't come up
- 13:00Speaker 5: with that money for the refill, which was every week,
- 13:04Speaker 5: I hadn't learned anything except to take the pills. Not
- 13:07Speaker 5: only did I gain back the few that I lost,
- 13:09Speaker 5: but I put on more. And that was the story
- 13:11Speaker 5: of my life until until I have had to grow up.
- 13:16Speaker 5: And I went to weight Watchers, but I didn't want
- 13:19Speaker 5: to go because I really wanted to prove weight watchers
- 13:22Speaker 5: wrong and I didn't need failure alongside of my name
- 13:26Speaker 5: for yet another time, so I fought going. However, it
- 13:31Speaker 5: changed my life all right.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Now you're changing lives every day, So let's get back
- 13:34Speaker 4: to your classes. Before we let you go, remind people
- 13:37Speaker 4: when the classes are how they can discs.
- 13:38Speaker 5: We meet every Thursday morning at ten am and also
- 13:42Speaker 5: Thursday evening at five point thirty. Modest fees apply and
- 13:46Speaker 5: group support is the thing that makes the difference. We
- 13:49Speaker 5: have private way in and the group is fantastic. We laugh,
- 13:54Speaker 5: we learn, we grow together, and the success is very eminent.
- 13:59Speaker 5: Please join us where over at Trinity Evangelical Church over
- 14:06Speaker 5: on Elizabeth Street. We're across the street from Benet Jacob.
- 14:09Speaker 5: We're also right at the corner of Canawll Boulevard. There

- 14:17Speaker 5: have you and let's together hold hands and make a
- 14:20Speaker 5: difference in our life.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Great way to end it and enjoy your class reunion.
- 14:24Speaker 5: Thanks you looking for I'm going to have stories to tell.

- 17:33Speaker 4: said that I don't know that the way our society
- 17:38Speaker 4: constantly wants to throw medicine. Oh you got this, You
- 17:40Speaker 4: take a pill for it. You take a pill for this,
- 17:42Speaker 4: you take a pill for that. It's it's absolutely ridiculous.
- 17:45Speaker 4: And so many of those things. I'm not talking about cancer,
- 17:48Speaker 4: but so many of those things can be avoided and
- 17:52Speaker 4: go off of it because it's poison. That's what I'm
- 17:54Speaker 4: talking about. Steve Animal, Yes, why are you here in
- 17:57Speaker 4: my studio? Uh?
- 17:58Speaker 10: You invited?
- 17:59Speaker 11: Oh?
- 18:00Speaker 4: Trial, ok at. Dave Rutgers also here. Fall Y'all's coming
- 18:02Speaker 4: up here pretty soon in Saint Alban's. Dave Rucker, welcome
- 18:04Speaker 4: to the show. Thank you for having us, appreciate being here.
- 18:06Speaker 4: All right, so when and where give us the Well,
- 18:09Speaker 4: we'll get to that first.
- 18:10Speaker 12: October fourth, twelve to six o'clock, Main Street, Saint Albans.
- 18:14Speaker 4: All right, And for those that aren't familiar with it,
- 18:16Speaker 4: to explain what fall y'all is, fall.
- 18:18Speaker 12: Y'all is a group that just aims mainly to bring
- 18:22Speaker 12: a better, safer Saint Albans community. We do couple fundraiser events.
- 18:26Speaker 12: We do our fall y'all Chili cook Off in the
- 18:28Speaker 12: spring and we do a dog Bowl and I'm sorry
- 18:31Speaker 12: chili cook off in the fall and a dog Ball
- 18:32Speaker 12: in the spring, and all of our proceeds go to
- 18:36Speaker 12: supporting the Saint Albans Police Department Canine Unit and then
- 18:39Speaker 12: to local youth and education and initiatives that are within
- 18:42Speaker 12: the city of Saint Albans.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Talk about some of the things that you do with
- 18:45Speaker 4: the with the with the utes. As rush Lumball used
- 18:47Speaker 4: to say.
- 18:48Speaker 12: Well, we all started with safety. Community and getting at
- 18:52Speaker 12: them at a young age is what creates the best community.
- 18:56Speaker 12: So we try and and get involved with the school programs,
- 18:59Speaker 12: education programs, things that are happening in the schools. We
- 19:02Speaker 12: help to support those other organizations that are outside of
- 19:06Speaker 12: the schools a little bit too. For example, the Star
- 19:09Speaker 12: Club program is an after school program. They provide tutoring.
- 19:13Speaker 12: They have paid tutors that are there to help the
- 19:15Speaker 12: students that are teachers. They have a nutrition program which
- 19:19Speaker 12: is a snack provided, and they also have a community
- 19:23Speaker 12: involvement program where they get involved with like community gardens
- 19:27Speaker 12: things like that. So they're they're teaching them all sorts
- 19:31Speaker 12: of things there and then it provides a safe space
- 19:34Speaker 12: for the kids to be after school. Some of the
- 19:36Speaker 12: parents might work till six o'clock, Well they can be
- 19:38Speaker 12: at Star Club with their peers, with adults supervision. They're safe,
- 19:43Speaker 12: they're learning, they're fed, and they're giving back to their community.
- 19:47Speaker 12: And then we also do like Project Graduation, a safe
- 19:50Speaker 12: alcohol free party for our celebration for the graduating seniors
- 19:56Speaker 12: that are going to be going on and we're trying
- 19:58Speaker 12: to make sure that they find our next journey safe
- 20:01Speaker 12: and healthy rather than in tragedy.
- 20:03Speaker 4: And this is all as far as the amount of
- 20:06Speaker 4: people that come out to this thing. I'm there every year,
- 20:08Speaker 4: you know, along with Steve and the folks at the Mountains.
- 20:11Speaker 4: You put a whole lot of people on Old Man.
- 20:13Speaker 12: We do it gets crowded sometimes and you know, we
- 20:17Speaker 12: everybody comes out enjoys it. It's a great time. The
- 20:20Speaker 12: chili's out there, the vendors are out there. You know,
- 20:22Speaker 12: we don't know exactly how many, but a couple thousand
- 20:26Speaker 12: probably the.
- 20:27Speaker 4: Day, every bit of because people kind of drift in
- 20:29Speaker 4: and out, you know. Yeah. Yeah, music too.
- 20:32Speaker 10: The Groove Brothers are going to be planned.
- 20:34Speaker 12: The Groove Brothers are an Almand Brothers tribute band. They'll
- 20:37Speaker 12: take the stage at four o'clock. At two o'clock will
- 20:40Speaker 12: be Anderson Road Band, and at twelve thirty will be
- 20:43Speaker 12: the heavy hitters. Also, we're talking about the youth. You know,
- 20:45Speaker 12: these kids take a standardized test every year at twelve
- 20:48Speaker 12: o'clock to start things off. We'll recognize called Mastery on
- 20:52Speaker 12: Main Street. So we'll recognize all those kids who obtain
- 20:55Speaker 12: Mastery level in their their learning in the classroom on
- 20:58Speaker 12: those tests. So they'll be wreckingcognize. Their parents will get
- 21:01Speaker 12: to come out and see them walk across the stage,
- 21:04Speaker 12: have a great time. Chili cookers. We got eighteen of
- 21:06Speaker 12: them out there right now, and we want more.
- 21:09Speaker 4: How many is I mean?
- 21:13Speaker 13: Eight?
- 21:13Speaker 4: Okay? My goal is always judge. Last year was myself
- 21:17Speaker 4: and Brian Brian Hughes. Who else was there? Eric Eric
- 21:22Speaker 4: Nelson was one of the judges.
- 21:23Speaker 12: And Jay Silverman. Yeah, and now our judges this year
- 21:27Speaker 12: we have Mary Lee mccallaugh. We have Rob Real, Stephen
- 21:30Speaker 12: Keith and j Silman. So I've been bumped as a judge.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Here comes to judge.
- 21:35Speaker 4: You want to come judge, Come on, you need to
- 21:37Speaker 4: have different people every year.
- 21:39Speaker 12: That's what our real We had some complaint of the
- 21:43Speaker 12: same winners the same year, so that's.
- 21:45Speaker 4: Why I will say the way that these things work
- 21:48Speaker 4: is that we we don't uh, the judges don't know
- 21:51Speaker 4: who we're judging. We just get a number. That's the
- 21:53Speaker 4: way that the you know, the chili competitions go. And
- 21:56Speaker 4: so all we get is number seventeen, and we you know,
- 21:58Speaker 4: would write down you know too salty needs more salt.
- 22:02Speaker 12: You know, completely unbiased.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, so that that way. We don't know, But
- 22:07Speaker 4: I agree, I think you and I'm gonna be down
- 22:09Speaker 4: there with Steve anyway, but but I do believe that
- 22:12Speaker 4: that you you do need to have different judges every year.
- 22:14Speaker 12: And that's what give everybody a chance to win, you know,
- 22:17Speaker 12: a different taste palette there, so different people might win.
- 22:20Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, And where can people Because you said you'd
- 22:23Speaker 4: like you got about eighteen, now you'd like to have
- 22:25Speaker 4: about thirty. Do you have Look before I get to
- 22:27Speaker 4: how you can sign up? Do you have different levels
- 22:29Speaker 4: of chilliers at all together? We don't.
- 22:31Speaker 12: So we're not a sanctioned competition, so we don't have
- 22:34Speaker 12: to separate it out. You know, you you bring your
- 22:36Speaker 12: favorite chilier. You have green chili, if you have homestyle chili,
- 22:40Speaker 12: if you like beans or not beans, there's no it's
- 22:42Speaker 12: it's a it's a one for all winnings. Now you
- 22:46Speaker 12: get five hundred dollars for first place, three yeah, three
- 22:50Speaker 12: hundred for second place, two hundred for third place, and
- 22:53Speaker 12: then People's Choice gets one hundred, one hundred bucks. The
- 22:56Speaker 12: People's Choice. That's the folks come out and tasting. So
- 22:59Speaker 12: when you come to buy your tickets, you can buy
- 23:02Speaker 12: one ticket for a dollar, or you can buy twelve
- 23:04Speaker 12: tickets for ten dollars. When you buy the ten dollars,
- 23:06Speaker 12: you also get the option to be one of the
- 23:10Speaker 12: community judges. Okay, you come through, you drop your voting
- 23:14Speaker 12: system into their bucket, and you're recognizing them as your favorite,
- 23:19Speaker 12: so you come out and taste. You can also be
- 23:21Speaker 12: one of those judges that are just walking around the
- 23:24Speaker 12: street in the community.
- 23:26Speaker 10: People's Choice, So you can also check out the Facebook page.
- 23:29Speaker 10: So there's a lot of great pictures from hers past.
- 23:31Speaker 10: But yeah, we need twelve more chili.
- 23:34Speaker 4: All right, and this would be good for you know,
- 23:36Speaker 4: and I've seen and I've done a lot of these
- 23:37Speaker 4: chili competitions in the past. You know, sometimes you'll see individuals,
- 23:41Speaker 4: but sometimes it's a great what's the word on looking
- 23:44Speaker 4: for great networking thing, great team building thing if you
- 23:47Speaker 4: had a church or you got like, you know, a
- 23:50Speaker 4: rotary group or or something like that. You know, the
- 23:53Speaker 4: radio or radio you don't you don't want radio chill,
- 23:56Speaker 4: trust me, you don't. You don't want radio chill. Yeah. Yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 4: but uh but it's a it's a great team building
- 24:04Speaker 4: opportunity for people to kind of get together and do these,
- 24:06Speaker 4: you know, and get a little awareness toward their particular calls,
- 24:09Speaker 4: whether it's a fire department or a Little League team
- 24:11Speaker 4: or what it certainly is.
- 24:12Speaker 12: And and and some of our vendors are I mean,
- 24:14Speaker 12: I think we got about eight non profit vendors Rotary, uh,
- 24:18Speaker 12: Hayes Middle School, Saint Albans High School. So all of
- 24:21Speaker 12: these are non profit entities that are coming out as vendors.
- 24:24Speaker 12: A couple of them selling grilled cheese, going with the
- 24:27Speaker 12: chili's the great idea to have pepperoni rolls, uh, fall
- 24:31Speaker 12: time foods and festival type foods. So all those will
- 24:35Speaker 12: be there well, so your nonprofits.
- 24:36Speaker 4: Will be out there on maybe one day we'll actually
- 24:38Speaker 4: have fall, you know that we're hoping for it. The weather,
- 24:41Speaker 4: if I remember correctly, Uh, the weather last year was
- 24:44Speaker 4: was was really good. It's perfect. It was perfect last year.
- 24:47Speaker 4: But you want to have a little bit of a
- 24:49Speaker 4: nip in the air. Oh yeah, we like that, We
- 24:51Speaker 4: like the fall time. Yeah, and we're hoping eventually. Yeahni
- 24:54Speaker 4: will also be beer on the street.
- 24:56Speaker 12: There will and and you can get information at fall
- 24:59Speaker 12: y'all Chili Off dot com or the Facebook Saint Albans
- 25:02Speaker 12: fall Y'all Festival Chili Cookoff.
- 25:04Speaker 4: All right, and uh, and of course we'll be there. Yes,
- 25:08Speaker 4: I know you just said that Rob Reel would be there,
- 25:09Speaker 4: so that means that ninety six to one Kubles will
- 25:13Speaker 4: be there. The Mountain will be there. We always have
- 25:14Speaker 4: a big presence of these things.
- 25:15Speaker 10: Yes, No, it's a lot of fun too. Just get out,
- 25:19Speaker 10: live life, have some fun and do some good for
- 25:21Speaker 10: the neighborhood too.
- 25:22Speaker 12: Enjoy your neighbors.
- 25:23Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know it's there's a lot of stuff
- 25:26Speaker 4: going on in St. Albans, you know constantly. I had
- 25:30Speaker 4: Jared Page on the show just a couple of weeks ago.
- 25:32Speaker 4: He was talking about the PODA thing that's gone into
- 25:34Speaker 4: into effect there. That's contrary to what you think, Steve.
- 25:37Speaker 4: It's not the public outdoor drinking area. It's public outdoor
- 25:41Speaker 4: designated that he does not stand for drinking. Okay, what
- 25:44Speaker 4: I'm just letting you know, I'm just but it's it's
- 25:47Speaker 4: been according to him and talking to him, it's been
- 25:49Speaker 4: a great thing for the businesses there in Putney Command
- 25:53Speaker 4: or in St Albans and what it allows you to do.
- 25:55Speaker 4: Charleston's done at certain areas and other cities have done
- 25:58Speaker 4: it too. Basically, you can purchase a now, not necessarily
- 26:01Speaker 4: during this event, the Maure Festival, not at any other
- 26:04Speaker 4: time on a regular Friday or Saturday night, you want
- 26:06Speaker 4: to go out grab one, you can. You get a
- 26:09Speaker 4: cup from one of these businesses, uh, and then you
- 26:12Speaker 4: can then take it to the different places if you
- 26:14Speaker 4: choose to have alcohol or you don't have to do
- 26:17Speaker 4: that if you don't want to.
- 26:19Speaker 12: Yeah, this event is that those are the ones. The
- 26:21Speaker 12: POTO events are the free walking, the festival type, the
- 26:25Speaker 12: yack fest all y'all, they're they're not PoTA events at
- 26:28Speaker 12: the time. And the you can they're the street festival
- 26:32Speaker 12: type of environment is what you would expect more here
- 26:35Speaker 12: at at these events. But yes, Saint Aubans, we're trying
- 26:38Speaker 12: to bring a lively environment, trying to bring youth and
- 26:41Speaker 12: family into the town.
- 26:42Speaker 4: So and I will I will say this as well,
- 26:46Speaker 4: if you want to come out to the fall y'all event,
- 26:49Speaker 4: and maybe if you're if you don't even like chili,
- 26:52Speaker 4: I mean, you can come out and you could take
- 26:53Speaker 4: in the music and stuff like that because it's an
- 26:55Speaker 4: open street so there's no charge for any of that.
- 26:57Speaker 12: No, no, it's it just wants to be there on
- 26:59Speaker 12: the show Street to walk around, to view, to listen.
- 27:03Speaker 12: And if you don't like chili, there's there are other
- 27:05Speaker 12: food vendors, there are other opportunity to peek around and
- 27:09Speaker 12: see what there is for you there.
- 27:11Speaker 10: And if you haven't been to Saint Albans multitude of restaurants.
- 27:15Speaker 10: We have Shuckers on Old Maine. We also have the Cafe,
- 27:19Speaker 10: the Tap, We have Cole River Coffee, we have Cosamel,
- 27:22Speaker 10: we have Angela's on the River. Hat Tricks the new
- 27:26Speaker 10: we have Yeah Hat Tricks. We have Marco's Pizza Love Pizza.
- 27:29Speaker 12: Hat Tricks is new establishment across from the Dairy Queen
- 27:32Speaker 12: there on sixth that.
- 27:33Speaker 10: We have Dairy Queen.
- 27:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:34Speaker 10: So I mean there's a ton of great food options too,
- 27:37Speaker 10: So yeah.
- 27:38Speaker 4: Come on out. And you mentioned a couple of my
- 27:40Speaker 4: I mean, all those places are great, but you mentioned
- 27:41Speaker 4: a couple of my favorite places. The Cafe. You and
- 27:43Speaker 4: I have been known to go to the Cafe a
- 27:45Speaker 4: timeer twelve yes, uh. And and also Shuckers. Shuckers of course,
- 27:48Speaker 4: a big shout out the guy and the folks they
- 27:50Speaker 4: sponsor on the Mountain the Appetite for the eighties show
- 27:54Speaker 4: that the Jeff Snyder does on the show, and they
- 27:57Speaker 4: crab stuff, mushrooms. Man, there are awesome. They're everything there
- 28:00Speaker 4: is great. Had a texture so salted cheese, sour cream,
- 28:03Speaker 4: and chips are awesome. With chili all yeah, things are
- 28:06Speaker 4: and the chili cooker, yes, that texture. You need to
- 28:10Speaker 4: come and cook.
- 28:10Speaker 12: Yes, they can. Get to the website sign up. You
- 28:12Speaker 12: can sign up to cook from the website and and
- 28:15Speaker 12: the cookers. Some drop cheese and sour cream and crackers
- 28:19Speaker 12: in the chili. That's perfectly allowed your choice, So however
- 28:23Speaker 12: you like it, come on down.
- 28:25Speaker 10: Also, we're still needing some volunteers, so if you'd like
- 28:27Speaker 10: to volunteer, help out for a great cause for a
- 28:30Speaker 10: great day.
- 28:31Speaker 12: Link is also on the website there as well, either
- 28:34Speaker 12: the volunteer or the registration link as soon as you
- 28:36Speaker 12: go to the fall Y'all website, it'll be right there.

- 28:49Speaker 12: are bringing a new T shirt. We're going to try
- 28:52Speaker 12: something so hopefully it is a bit nippy out and
- 28:55Speaker 12: we're gonna bring our long sleeve.
- 28:56Speaker 10: T shirt this year, so I know the people printing those.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Only if only, if only we had a decent T

- 33:26Speaker 3: Thank you so much for having me today.
- 33:28Speaker 4: You know you got to follow up Steve Animal, because
- 33:31Speaker 4: when you think symphony, you think Steve Animal.
- 33:35Speaker 11: Well it's a tough fact to follow. But I like
- 33:37Speaker 11: to think I know you said that the symphony wasn't
- 33:39Speaker 11: for you. I like to think the symphony.
- 33:41Speaker 3: All of this for everyone.
- 33:42Speaker 4: It is, it is. My point was is that people
- 33:45Speaker 4: like myself an Animal, you wouldn't normally think of us
- 33:48Speaker 4: with the symphony. But I've gone to I go to
- 33:50Speaker 4: the symphony regularly. I love it, that is for sure.
- 33:52Speaker 11: Well, and I think this year's season gives a little
- 33:55Speaker 11: bit of taste for everybody. So if you are not
- 33:58Speaker 11: a classical music fan or don't think you like symphonic music,
- 34:01Speaker 11: don't worry because there's lots coming up for you. But
- 34:04Speaker 11: on Saturday, September twentieth, we are going to kick off
- 34:06Speaker 11: our opening season with Opening Night, and we've got a
- 34:09Speaker 11: lot of fun classical music that'll start off our season.
- 34:14Speaker 11: We've got a piece by Augusta Holmes, which is a
- 34:17Speaker 11: beautiful French composer. We've got two guest artists on stage,
- 34:21Speaker 11: which is something a little bit different. So we'll be
- 34:23Speaker 11: having a cello and of Island that'll be featured for
- 34:25Speaker 11: the evening, and then we'll be kicking and finalizing our
- 34:29Speaker 11: evening for a performance of Rimsky Korsakov's Shaherazad, which is
- 34:33Speaker 11: the famous tale of Arabian Nights one thousand and one
- 34:37Speaker 11: in Arabian Nights. So a lot of fun stuff coming
- 34:40Speaker 11: up on the Symphonic series and also for our ZMM
- 34:44Speaker 11: Architecture and Engineer's Pop series.
- 34:45Speaker 4: As well, so we talk about that a little bit.
- 34:47Speaker 11: Yeah, So Saturday, October twenty fifth, we're going to be
- 34:49Speaker 11: coming to the stage to kick off our Pop series,
- 34:51Speaker 11: which if you aren't familiar with classical music, it's a
- 34:53Speaker 11: great way to dip your toe into that genre, I
- 34:57Speaker 11: like to say. And we're going to be collaborating with
- 34:59Speaker 11: some local band which I'm really really excited for. The
- 35:01Speaker 11: title of the show is Listen where You Live, and
- 35:04Speaker 11: we're going to be welcoming Shalem the company's stores, and
- 35:07Speaker 11: then John Ingram band on stage to share time with
- 35:10Speaker 11: the Symphonies, so they'll be playing with the Symphony, they'll
- 35:11Speaker 11: be playing a little bit by themselves. The Symphony will
- 35:14Speaker 11: be playing by themselves. So it's a really great way
- 35:16Speaker 11: to share in not only the classical music scene, but
- 35:20Speaker 11: the Charleston and West Virginia music scene in a really
- 35:23Speaker 11: fun way to kick off the year with some fun music.
- 35:27Speaker 4: And I always love when these you know, you can
- 35:28Speaker 4: call them fusions or whatever you want to call them,
- 35:30Speaker 4: when these different genres of music come together like this.
- 35:34Speaker 4: And I always love when you hear a symphony. I
- 35:36Speaker 4: go back a few years ago, I think it I
- 35:39Speaker 4: want to say it was Melbourne when Metallica performed with
- 35:44Speaker 4: the I think it was the Melbourne Symphony. It was
- 35:46Speaker 4: simply amazing because music is music, you know, That's the
- 35:49Speaker 4: thing I mean. And they have a lot more in
- 35:51Speaker 4: common the different genres than what you would think.
- 35:53Speaker 3: That's for sure.
- 35:54Speaker 7: Well.
- 35:54Speaker 11: And we love to do collaborations with local organizations too,
- 35:59Speaker 11: so later in the year will be collaborating for the
- 36:01Speaker 11: twenty sixth year with the Charleston Blake for the Nutcracker
- 36:04Speaker 11: two and we'll be bringing Swan Lake to the stage
- 36:07Speaker 11: in the spring. So really everything we put on is
- 36:11Speaker 11: a little bit something for everyone. So if you like dance,
- 36:14Speaker 11: if you like pop and rock music, we have our
- 36:17Speaker 11: fun Sounds of the Season concert, which is holiday music
- 36:21Speaker 11: in the best way. We'll have some solo vocalists, so
- 36:24Speaker 11: corral vocalists on there too. I mean, really, everything we
- 36:27Speaker 11: have to offer for the Charleston area and the state
- 36:31Speaker 11: in general is really going to be a little bit
- 36:34Speaker 11: of everything, from your very traditional classical music to things
- 36:38Speaker 11: that you really don't envision with a orchestra on stage.
- 36:41Speaker 11: We'll actually be collaborating with the WU Theater Department in
- 36:45Speaker 11: February and there we're gonna be playing some Romeo and
- 36:47Speaker 11: Juliette and they're going to be performing Romeo and Julian
- 36:49Speaker 11: on stage. So it's a really exciting time to be
- 36:53Speaker 11: a part of the West Virginia sim you know.
- 36:54Speaker 4: So then I would like to get and I don't
- 36:55Speaker 4: know whether you can pull this together because people come
- 36:58Speaker 4: from all around play with the symphony. But one thing
- 37:01Speaker 4: that I think would really be cool we get this,
- 37:03Speaker 4: We get this big old studio in here, and you
- 37:05Speaker 4: should bring a couple of them in sometime and see
- 37:07Speaker 4: what we can. Now, we can't bring the entire symphony,
- 37:09Speaker 4: of course, you know.
- 37:10Speaker 3: Oh I have no Dave. We might be able to
- 37:13Speaker 3: know about that.
- 37:13Speaker 4: But if you could bring a few in because we've
- 37:15Speaker 4: done things like in the past, we've done live music
- 37:17Speaker 4: on the show. I mean, why not, it's my show,
- 37:18Speaker 4: the rules.
- 37:19Speaker 3: I would love that well.
- 37:20Speaker 11: And we have a really talented concertmaster who is the
- 37:23Speaker 11: lead of the orchestra and she is a professor at WBUKA,
- 37:28Speaker 11: So we are really excited to be able to feature
- 37:30Speaker 11: some local musicians. Dave Porter is a fantastic trumpet player,
- 37:35Speaker 11: a staple in the Charleston music scene, and really exciting
- 37:39Speaker 11: to feature him on our stage as a symphony musician
- 37:41Speaker 11: as well. Too interested in anything we have to offer,
- 37:44Speaker 11: make sure you check out our website Wbsymphony dot org.
- 37:47Speaker 11: It's going to have all of the information on it
- 37:49Speaker 11: for our single tickets, our subscriptions, everything from our symphonic
- 37:53Speaker 11: concerts and our pops concerts to all of these collaborations
- 37:56Speaker 11: we're talking about. It really is the place to figure
- 37:58Speaker 11: out what you'd like to see for the symphony and
- 38:00Speaker 11: how to get there.
- 38:01Speaker 4: So's I can to a Mana McDonald again, who is
- 38:03Speaker 4: the marketing director for the Symphony, the West Virginian Symphony,

- 38:17Speaker 4: Vis A Pinnacle Corp dot net. Because what you don't
- 38:19Speaker 4: know can hurt you. Let's talk about the popularity of
- 38:24Speaker 4: the symphony here in the Charleston area and really all
- 38:27Speaker 4: of West Virginia. You know, you don't think some people
- 38:30Speaker 4: may think, well, you know, it's a select few that
- 38:33Speaker 4: like this sort of thing. I have gone several times,
- 38:36Speaker 4: my wife and I have gone, and I've been amazed
- 38:38Speaker 4: by the different types of people that you see at
- 38:41Speaker 4: your events. It's not just the people in the tuxedos
- 38:45Speaker 4: and things like that like you see on television or movies.
- 38:47Speaker 4: That's not what it is at all. You see families,
- 38:49Speaker 4: you see individuals, you see people in blue genie, you
- 38:52Speaker 4: see people dressed up in suits and ties. Just talk
- 38:55Speaker 4: about the overall scene for sure.
- 38:57Speaker 11: I mean, really, we work on, really working hard on
- 39:00Speaker 11: trying to get such a diverse audience. You're right, and
- 39:02Speaker 11: we think of classical music as suits and ties and
- 39:05Speaker 11: tuxes and operas, and that is definitely a great part
- 39:08Speaker 11: of it, but a lot of part of it is
- 39:11Speaker 11: making sure that everyone feels comfortable when you walk into
- 39:14Speaker 11: the Clay Center, and just because you may not understand
- 39:17Speaker 11: or know the piece that you're listening to, doesn't mean
- 39:20Speaker 11: you're not going to enjoy just as much. Really working
- 39:23Speaker 11: on to bringing in a younger audience to our symphony.
- 39:26Speaker 11: We have a really amazing education program. A part of
- 39:29Speaker 11: that program goes out into the Knnow County schools and
- 39:32Speaker 11: has string educators that are not only employees in the
- 39:36Speaker 11: in the county, but also musicians on our stage too,
- 39:39Speaker 11: working with young students, middle school, high schoolers to really
- 39:42Speaker 11: start an initial initialize that love of music.
- 39:45Speaker 3: I'm from a really young age.
- 39:47Speaker 11: We're also working with the West Virginia, the Kannawk County
- 39:50Speaker 11: Public Library to distribute these things we call WB Symphony Passports.
- 39:54Speaker 3: So if you have a student or.
- 39:56Speaker 11: A child a's twelve and younger, we would love to
- 39:59Speaker 11: issue a passport. That passport gets you a free ticket
- 40:02Speaker 11: for your student plus an adult to most all of
- 40:05Speaker 11: our concerts, all of our symponic concerts, a select group
- 40:09Speaker 11: of our pops concerts, and that is a way to
- 40:11Speaker 11: really help to grow that audience, to diversify that audience,
- 40:14Speaker 11: to make people feel like the Symphony is their own.
- 40:17Speaker 11: We want to be able to have a great night
- 40:19Speaker 11: out and a fun night out, to dress up and
- 40:20Speaker 11: things like that too, but it's just as nice to
- 40:23Speaker 11: come out in a comfortable outfit and enjoy just a
- 40:26Speaker 11: night of music in the Clay Center.
- 40:27Speaker 6: And we have.
- 40:27Speaker 11: A gem of a venue in the in the city
- 40:31Speaker 11: built for the Symphony. It's the most acoustically sound venue.
- 40:35Speaker 11: I mean, it is just fantastic. Our musicians are really
- 40:37Speaker 11: grateful to play there. We are really grateful to have
- 40:40Speaker 11: a home there, and we're hoping everyone will come out
- 40:42Speaker 11: there and see us.
- 40:43Speaker 4: Quickly talk about the sponsors that make it all possible,
- 40:46Speaker 4: because you couldn't do it without without the great sponsor.
- 40:48Speaker 3: That is an understatement.
- 40:50Speaker 11: The Elliott Foundation is our Symphonic Series sponsor and has
- 40:53Speaker 11: been a sponsor for a very very very long time
- 40:55Speaker 11: along with the z Along with the ZMM Architects and
- 40:58Speaker 11: Engineers has been our pop sponsors for decades, so not
- 41:02Speaker 11: along only with them, but our individual concerts sponsors, and
- 41:06Speaker 11: COVA is sponsoring our opening Night series. They are an
- 41:08Speaker 11: exclusive sponsor for that and have been for quite some time.
- 41:12Speaker 3: All of the.
- 41:12Speaker 11: Sponsors that come together throughout the year to really help
- 41:14Speaker 11: make these concerts be the epic shows that we love.
- 41:18Speaker 4: All right again, give us the details about Saturday Night.
- 41:21Speaker 4: We covered a lot here, but let's talk at specifically

- 47:10Speaker 4: time talking about some things going on with Marshall University,
- 47:13Speaker 4: some some for their alumni program, and Senator Eric Tarr
- 47:16Speaker 4: is going to stop by the show tomorrow as well.
- 47:19Speaker 4: Texas Dave, the farm extension is ending on the thirtieth
- 47:22Speaker 4: of this month. There's been no work, or at least
- 47:25Speaker 4: no work publicized by Congress about their work on the
- 47:27Speaker 4: farm bill. Videos and stories from small farmers are coming
- 47:30Speaker 4: out stating that they can't pay their bills because foreign
- 47:34Speaker 4: countries aren't buying crops because of the drum roll tariffs.
- 47:38Speaker 4: Any word if our delegation is working on this or
- 47:40Speaker 4: are they awaiting direction from their dear leaders. As a Texter,
- 47:45Speaker 4: somebody sent me a news story here and this was
- 47:48Speaker 4: on the Network News earlier. The FBI is there's a
- 47:51Speaker 4: man hunt going on in Pittsburgh right now and it's
- 47:55Speaker 4: been called an active terror and they've identified the man.
- 47:58Speaker 4: His name is Donald of Penhills, Pennsylvania.
- 48:03Speaker 6: And.
- 48:05Speaker 4: He is accused of ramming a gates and then fleeing
- 48:11Speaker 4: at the FBI field office in Pittsburgh. And now they've
- 48:13Speaker 4: got according to the texture I got here or sent
- 48:16Speaker 4: me they've got bomb robots now scanning the vehicle, So again,
- 48:22Speaker 4: appreciate that breaking news there. Tex says, Dave can't believe
- 48:28Speaker 4: evangelical pastors are lifting Charlie Charlie Kirk up on a
- 48:31Speaker 4: pedestal and say they believe God's word. Then they need
- 48:35Speaker 4: to check what Charlie believes, and says on his podcast,
- 48:39Speaker 4: there is an opening now on the canaw County Board
- 48:42Speaker 4: of Education. Tracy White making the announcement yesterday on social
- 48:45Speaker 4: media that she is resigning. She's been a board member
- 48:49Speaker 4: going back to twenty eighteen now. In a post on Facebook,
- 48:51Speaker 4: she said the decision didn't come lightly in cited family
- 48:55Speaker 4: issues is one of the reasons she is residing now.
- 48:57Speaker 4: She had said originally that she was going to an
- 49:00Speaker 4: out to the end of this year that she would
- 49:01Speaker 4: not seek reelection next year, but she opted to resign,
- 49:05Speaker 4: effective immediately. The four other members will now choose a
- 49:09Speaker 4: new member to finish out her term. We've had a
- 49:10Speaker 4: story posted about it this morning at Wvmetronews dot com.
- 49:15Speaker 4: Aaron Parker with the story this morning at the website,
- 49:19Speaker 4: and we talked about this yesterday because this kind of
- 49:21Speaker 4: broke the beginning of Midday yesterday, Marshall President Brad Smith
- 49:25Speaker 4: and his wife Elise are writing a check to Marshall,
- 49:29Speaker 4: his alma mater, a big one, as in fifty million
- 49:33Speaker 4: dollars big and it's going to go to the Marshall
- 49:36Speaker 4: for All program. It's the biggest donation ever to Marshall
- 49:39Speaker 4: and believe to be the largest donation ever in the
- 49:42Speaker 4: country to a university from its president fifty million dollars. Now,
- 49:48Speaker 4: the program that it's going to, this Marshal for All,
- 49:50Speaker 4: was launched back in twenty twenty three under the guidance
- 49:53Speaker 4: of President Smith, and it's designed to get more students
- 49:59Speaker 4: through college without much debt. And you would think this
- 50:03Speaker 4: is all a good thing, right, Well not if you
- 50:07Speaker 4: got online and you read the comments on the TV
- 50:11Speaker 4: station websites, other news sources and some of the texts
- 50:15Speaker 4: that I got to the show yesterday. I met your
- 50:17Speaker 4: news Midday about this, criticizing people, criticizing President Brad Smith
- 50:24Speaker 4: for being rich and doing well for his family. I mean,
- 50:33Speaker 4: one would think that somebody who is a self made
- 50:36Speaker 4: man like Brad Smith. President Bradsmith is and wants to
- 50:39Speaker 4: give back and gets out the checkbook and writes a
- 50:42Speaker 4: fifty million dollar check to help students go to school,
- 50:48Speaker 4: meaning that many of them will not start their life
- 50:52Speaker 4: weigh down with horrendous student debt. You would think that
- 50:55Speaker 4: would be a good thing, but apparently not in our
- 50:58Speaker 4: current society, where we vilify anybody that's rich. One text
- 51:02Speaker 4: to the show yesterday said he was flaunting his wealth
- 51:06Speaker 4: by doing good. Good on him, good on her, Good
- 51:10Speaker 4: on everybody for being able to have wealth to flaunt.
- 51:13Speaker 4: I respect it. It's just continuing the vitification of success
- 51:17Speaker 4: in this country. And when you get a guy like
- 51:20Speaker 4: Brad Smith that wants to give back, and this isn't all,
- 51:24Speaker 4: but I mean a lot of the commenters on again,
- 51:27Speaker 4: go go to your favorite television station, go to radio stations,
- 51:29Speaker 4: go to you know, people vilifying him for doing this
- 51:33Speaker 4: and getting blasted for it. But that's what we do
- 51:35Speaker 4: in America. We like to vilify anybody that has done
- 51:38Speaker 4: anything good with their lives. Closing moments on the show here,
- 51:45Speaker 4: I wanted to get into this a little bit more
- 51:46Speaker 4: on Midday today. Now two thirds of the Calhoun County
- 51:52Speaker 4: Commission not far from here, are facing criminal charges. Morgan
- 51:56Speaker 4: Pemberton has the story this morning. W metron Who's dot com.
- 52:00Speaker 4: We told you about the one guy facing charges for
- 52:02Speaker 4: sexual abuse. Now another commissioner, the President of the Commission,
- 52:05Speaker 4: Craig Arthur, is facing seven counts of failing to pay
- 52:08Speaker 4: taxes or to file returns or reports. WCCHS Television reporting
- 52:13Speaker 4: this and again we have a story post about ourselves
- 52:15Speaker 4: at w metronews dot com from Morgan at Pemberton. So
- 52:20Speaker 4: if you're unhappy with your current job, my takeaway as
- 52:22Speaker 4: you can move to Calhoun County and now run for
- 52:24Speaker 4: county Commission because they got two or the three slots
- 52:27Speaker 4: look like they're going to be opened soon. We'll have
- 52:28Speaker 4: more of that on Midday to Day. Coming up on
- 52:30Speaker 4: this show tomorrow, Senator Grey Tarwolf stop by and more
- 52:33Speaker 4: from the Marshall University Alumni Association, DJ Meadows and Dave
- 52:37Speaker 4: Wilson coming up with the Metro News talk Line at
- 52:39Speaker 4: ten oh six. I'll be back later
