Shaun: Man. But as we like to do, we get started with our week, just kind of catching up with each other, what we have been up to. So, Jen, porcelain princess, what have you been up to this week? How's it been going for you? Jen: it's been going, let me tell you. It has been a busy, busy season in the Watson House. work has been busy and then personal life has been busy too. We are officially under contract for our house. So check that Shaun: There we go. Jen: off the list. Although it's like you have to jump into overdrive immediately. It Barry: Congrats. Yo, it's such an emotional process, Jen: Is it's so Barry: dude. Shaun: So much. Jen: emotional, so much anxiety. And then Barry: Yes. Jen: I feel like it's like, wait, don't do everything yet. Well, wait, don't do everything yet. You don't know. And then it's like, go, go, go, go, go. Yeah. So yes. Barry: Cause yo, you don't know what's yes. Once yeah. Mm-hmm. Wait and then go a hundred miles an hour. Shaun: Mm. Yeah. Jen: So we have so much to do. This was the first house we ever bought together. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Was this your first married house together too? Dang. So many emotions in that too. Jen: It is, literally. And the kids are being emotional about it, which instantly just makes me emotional about it. So Barry: dude. Just wait. Our oldest Shaun: Mm. Barry: had such a hard time move. I don't even know if she's like fully moved on from the old. She's still like Shaun: Mm. Jen: From the other one. Barry: it's it was very sentimental to her. It was I mean, Jen: Yeah. I'm Barry: from nine months until she was four, we moved like almost every year. While we Jen: Mm. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: were when I had my business in Austin 'cause we were just trying Jen: Mm. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: to That was when Austin was like blowing up, so rent just kept going and we were just trying to find the best deal. So then yeah. yeah, that's right. But Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Bit new. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Barry: then we moved down to NB and yeah, that was the first house. So she just we were there for ten years though. So Yeah. It's a big it's Jen: Yeah. Yeah. I mean Shaun: Yeah. Barry: a lot. I don't know. I don't yeah, I was like, let's go. It's just a house. I get Jen: We gotta go. I literally feel like one day you came to work and were like, I think we maybe g are gonna look at moving and the next thing I know you're like, We we Barry: Yo, I Jen: were moving. We've sold our house. I feel like y'all's happened really quick. Barry: I mean, but that's how I grew up. I was the military, but so moving was Shaun: yeah. Barry: nothing to me, man. I g and I think Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Barry: that's why I never just attached sentimentalness to the to a home. 'Cause we always had a different one, so just difference in how we grew Jen: Makes sense. Barry: up. Jen: Yeah. I don't know. We'll see. Barry: But you doing alright? Are you sad? Jen: Okay. I think I'm mentally ready to move on. I I do get so the we got to go visit the new house and walk Barry: That's exciting. Jen: it, yes, because they're about to do drywall. So they're gonna do the inspection on Friday for pre the plumbing and the electrical and the framing. And so we got to go in and walk it just us, and we got to show the kids, and it was the first time that they really get it, you know what I mean? Because every other time we dri Barry: Kind of see the space a little bit. Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Every other time we went out there, it was like a blank slab. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: And then it was like, you know, and they're like, I don't okay, I don't know what this is gonna be. Yeah. But Shaun: Like, what's this? Yeah. Barry: What is yeah, what is this? Yeah. Jen: this time, like they got to walk up the stairs and they got to like see their room spaces and kind of see where everything's gonna be. So I think it was more like realistic for them. So that was really fun. Barry: Helps. Jen: It is, but then they all of a sudden got so emotional the last two days about this house. And literally before I came in to record, I was putting my son down for bed and he was like I just don't know if I want to move anymore. I'm gonna Barry: No Jen: miss this house so much. So I'm Shaun: Mm. Jen: good until they start getting emotional and then I'm like, Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Yeah, it's tough, man. It is. But change is a good thing. Jen: Yeah. But it's it is for the best. On to bigger, better things. Shaun: It's for the best. Yeah. Jen: Yeah, change is a good thing. Bittersweet, but it's good. Barry: Very, very Shaun: Yeah. Jen: So yeah, that's just kicking into overdrive. A very busy season for the next like month for us. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Well, y'all got it. If you need any help, give us a shout. What do you mean? I know. I need Barry to Barry: Don't reach out to Shaun. No, I'm joking. Jen: I need you to come get these darn seed links from my sister. That's what I need 'cause she will not Shaun: tell me about the pots. yeah. Barry: I forgot. No, I didn't forget. I asked but I forgot to tell you. Shaun: She said no. she said okay, that's fine. Yeah. that's fine. I don't have a problem with that. Jen: She said no. Barry: She said yes, but she wants some of She said she'll trade. Some pot Jen: Some seedlings? Okay. Yeah. Barry: pots excuse me, some pots with an S for some C pots that hold plants, y'all. Sorry. Yes, some pots Jen: Some pots for plants. We are talking about plants. That's so funny. Shaun: We are talking about pots that you plant in. Yes. Yes. Barry: for some plants. Jen: Heard. Well, I'll have her hold on to them then. Barry: Camera's freezing. Shaun: There we go. Jeez, now Barry God like what what are Jen: wow, yeah. Shaun: what are y'all doing? Jen: You buy a TikTok shop now too? Barry: Nah, that's my phone, man. Shaun: Tack shop. Twenty one twenty one. Barry: Twenty one Jen: Forty one. Barry: Dang. Shaun: Sorry for the audio only listeners. You don't get to see all of this greatness, but Barry is now Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: having camera issues too. So we'll see Barry: Yep. Shaun: how that works out for him. We can still hear you though, so that works. Jen: Listen, mine not mine is just a lighting issue, okay? Shaun: That's true. Jen: It can't handle my radiance and so it kind of freaks out sometimes. Mm-hmm. That's what I'm Shaun: Radiance. I mean, Jen: gonna say. Shaun: there's nothing wrong with saying that. It's pretty accurate. man. Jen: no, Barry, that did not work. Shaun: Didn't work at all. Barry: Yeah, I know. Shaun: All right. So we're gonna take a brief intermission here and we'll be right back. Jen: So anyways, yeah, that was my week in a nutshell, and probably the next few foreseeable weeks. Shaun: all gonna be worth it though. It's gonna be really Jen: Yeah. Shaun: good. Barry: Are y'all paying Jen: Cross fingers. Barry: somebody to move you on? Jen: not right now because we're able to most of our stuff is in storage. We just have like our big ticket items and we're getting rid of a lot too. But we probably will hire somebody to get it out of storage into the new house. 'Cause our new house will not be ready at the end of the month when we're closing. So we are actually bunking Barry: that's right. Y'all are gonna be out here. Jen: up. Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: Better come by. No, no, no. Jen: But we won't be in the new house yet. So that process we may, but not right now. Barry: Can do some more espresso martini nights so you won't have to drive as far. Shaun: That's true. Jen: Lord. We're gonna have to do some espresso I will make a deal with you and Becca. I will do some espresso martini nights if they are at my house and that is it. So I can go vomit in my own bathroom and then just stay there. Right? Barry: Whatever you need to do to have fun. Jen: I mean, I just don't want to be vomiting in random bathrooms again. Shaun: Either way, the drive's not that far, so y'all be good. Man, that's awesome. Barry: Yeah, it's not. Either way. Jen: True, true, true, true, true. But yeah. What about you, Barry? You said you had a laundry list of things to discuss. Barry: Dude. Yeah, this is just my Friday through today. Shaun: Jeez. Barry: Yeah. Jen: hail. Barry: Cause yeah, I don't feel like anything happened last week. Were we recorded on what Monday last week, right? Shaun: 21. Barry: Twenty one. Yeah. Jen: I don't even remember Barry. Like you can't ask me that. Barry: Yeah, true that. I think so. No, we recorded Monday 'cause I play basketball. That's right. Shaun: No, was, yeah, maybe it was, I don't know. That's true, yeah. Jen: Okay. Barry: Facts. Okay. So yeah, I don't think anything really happened during the week, but Friday was our youngest first middle school dance. Shaun: Ooh, chaperone Barry. okay. Barry: Western theme. No. Bro. Even when I was a teacher, you weren't getting me to work nobody's dance. And I definitely ain't chaperoning. Not for that, no. Shaun: Hehehehehe Barry: Especially sixth grade now. Shaun: man. Jen: So funny. Barry: It's a whole bunch of awkward kids who d like are going through puberty and feel like the opposite Jen: Mm. Barry: sex is gross. So it's they just literally stand there and hang out in little pods of kids, I think. Jen: Yes. Barry: They don't dance with each other. But Shaun: I mean, that's the way it probably should be. Jen: Yeah. Barry: True. I mean I feel like that's probably what it was like for I don't know. I I remember having my first dance in middle school, like with a girl. So shout out to Stephanie Shannon. She was my first dance. Jen: Mm-hmm. I remember our middle school dances. Ooh. Shaun: dang. Full name? Jen: he got the name and everything. Barry: Yeah. I don't think she's that anymore. We might be friends on Facebook. Shaun: Becca? Barry: No, it ain't nothing like that, no. Please. Jen: Becca come get her. Becca come get her. Barry: No, nothing like that at all. But from the Copper's Cove though. Way Jen: Somebody gum gear something like a Barry: back in the day. And then that was the start to Friday. Shaun: putting all the Jen: Anybody wants to go look her up. Shaun: Right? Barry: That was just the start to my Friday 'cause I got invited to a firefighter versus cops boxing boxing event. Shaun: Well... Jen: Okay. that's your friend, right? Yeah. Barry: what was it called? Heroes Brawl. Yeah, so I went with my b two buddies and they're brothers and they're both firefighter. One works for Jen: Mm. Barry: Austin fire department, the other works for SA. So Jen: Fun. Did they win? Barry: but it was down on the South. They didn't box. They were and they actually usually do box. The I've gone and watched them do it like three times, like actually compete in it. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: and but they've done it more than that. I've only just gone and watched a couple of But now one of my buddies he got tickets to like a VIP table. So we were sitting like right where the boxers came out. It was pretty dope. But it was on Shaun: Nice. Barry: the South South side. Like I drove like a hour just to get to to my buddy's spot and then there was another Jen: Dang, where was it? Shaun: Southside, the southside of you. Barry: y waste. I don't even remember what it was called. It's like a it was a smaller venue. Shaun: Hmm. Barry: But that Jen: Interesting. Barry: was pretty dope. And that was Friday. Saturday. Why did I do Saturday? Y'all I had something happen Saturday. What was it? Jen: No. Shaun: What an exciting day. Barry: my gosh, I'm going blank. Shaun: That age catching up with you boy. Jen: Literally every single time we do these, that's what happens to my brain. It's like, what did you do, Barry: Yeah, it is. Jen: Jen? Did you live? Barry: So our oldest this was kind of an event. I guess this happened last week or maybe the week before. Yo, time is crazy. My oldest has a new boyfriend. Jen: Mm. Shaun: Nah, I don't know about that. Barry: So we met him yeah, we met him on Saturday. We No, I will not do that. Jen: What's his name? Say it on here out loud. No, I'm just kidding. Shaun: you Barry: She's looking in the window right now. Shaun: Dang, Jen: She knows you're Shaun: dude. Jen: talking about it right now. Shaun: We didn't do the whole bad boys thing. What's going on? Reggie. I do. Barry: No. I don't have a gun like that, bro. I know you can but let me h hold one, but Jen: Mm. Yeah, he could have lent you one. Shaun: I can't let you hold it. Barry: Nah, he was nice. but we went Shaun: better be. Barry: out and had dinner at Chili's and then we went to a haunted house way the hell out in La Vernia. Jen: Ooh, that's far. Shaun: Hmm Barry: It was free. Well, it was like donation. Jen: Mm. Barry: and it was I I think I heard somebody like in the crowd, like well in the line talking, like I guess it got put on the news. It's called the Haunted Hill Road. Haunted House. It's not that big. Are we like it was Shaun: Well that's like the pretty big one isn't it? Isn't it pretty big? is it not? Barry: it was I'm trying to think it was like what y'all did at work. Shaun: There's no y'all. Barry: Okay. We know we all did it together at one point. Yep. Okay. Shaun: I didn't go. I didn't. Jen: One point. Yes, you did. Shaun: I never, no, I never did. I never went to... Barry: Yes you did. Jen: Yah, you were choppin' up people parts and stuff. yeah, yeah. Barry: No, no, no, no, not going as a work event, what we put on as a work event. W Shaun: okay, yeah, okay, my bad. Okay, yeah, I was like, no, I never win. It's like, yeah. Barry: I never went as a work like as a outside of work event either. No, I I did not do that. Shaun: Okay, yeah, I mean, we did it at work, Barry: I would rate ours better. Jen: Really? Then okay. No. Barry: And it wasn't no, I it wasn't a bad one. I would just rate ours better. We had Shaun: Yeah. Barry: more Jen: I mean we do go all out, so Barry: we do and I mean we did. But it was just very yo, we we waited for two hours. Again, I they said it was I mean, yo, what am I I'm gonna be the grumpy old man who's like, yeah, y'all's little first date ain't happening. Come on, bro. I got there Jen: no. Nope, you lost me. Same. Yup. We've been here an hour, guys. Sorry. Moving on. Shaun: no, I'm out. Yes. you Barry: and I locked in. I was like, yo, I'm gonna do this for my oldest, this is what She wants to do I'm I know I'm not gonna let this happen without me, so I'm here. So I did it. Jen: True. That's a good dad right there. Barry: I mean, something like that. I try. But Shaun: dedication. Barry: it was still a I mean, our youngest, she was she was she's Jen: Terrified. Barry: not into that stuff. Like it scares her. Shaun: Hmm Barry: So yeah, we get up to like we're like ten groups from the actual like entrance. And she's like, I wanna do this. And I was just like, yo. No, she was upset the whole time, honestly. She was ready to go. Cause we had it was kinda Shaun: Too late. Either way, in two hours, you're doing it. Jen: Then they traumatized her by forcing her to go through it. Barry: cool. I was the only one who was prepared because I took my beanie and my jacket knowing it was gonna be cool while we stood out there. And yeah, sh the whole time she was over it. But then when we got close, I think the fear started to set in for her. So But I like, yo, this is what we're gonna do. You're gonna put your hands in my pocket, you're gonna put your face against my back, and you're just gonna walk. Like we're going through it. I'm Jen: And you're just gonna walk. Yes. Shaun: Hehehehehe Barry: the lead person, let's go. Cause all I do is laugh, bro. It's just funny to me. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: I'm like, yo, this isn't real. Why would I be scared? I mean Shaun: Okay, so speaking of it not being real there is a place I think is in California called like the 17th floor the 17th door or something like that and It is a legit haunted house like they can touch you they can grab you they can they can shock you Barry: no, I mean that's a whole nother story. That's what I'm like, that's a different story. Jen: absolutely not. Yeah. Absolutely not. Barry: But in these I know it ain't happen. Jen: Yeah. Mm mm. Shaun: Just saying, if we want to take a trip, Jen: Nope. Barry: No, I'm good. I don't need to be abused to go through a haunted house, bro. Shaun: think it'd be worth it. Jen: No, yeah. Barry: I definitely ain't trying to get shocked or none of that. Like if you wanna like scare Shaun: It just makes it so real. Jen: No, thank you. Barry: me and touch me, I'm cool with that. Like if you're trying to get me and scare me and I don't see you, nah, I d I mean I just like Jen: Nope. My instinct is to p mm. Shaun: I mean, minus two, but. Jen: Mm-mm. Barry: I don't even get like jump scares don't really get me. Shaun: So let's go. Jen: Mm mm. Yeah, that's a yaw thing. I ain't going. Ain't catching me there. Barry: But no, I'm not getting shocked. That ain't happening. Shaun: But no. my gosh. So freaking lame. Jen: Yeah. I'll Barry: but yeah, that was Saturday. We were out too late. I felt bad. This is the first time we met the boyfriend's family, so we got back like at eleven forty five at night 'cause it took forever. Jen: Geez. Barry: Yo, we left at like seven. It was like a forty five minute drive though. I think we left at seven thirty. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: And we got there at like eight fifteen and it was a two two hour wait. So Jen: Wow. Shaun: Did they have a good time? Barry: They did and that's what I was that's what I always go back to. Sh Shaun: That's all that matters then. Barry: the oldest was like I asked her when like we got back and got everything settled. I was Do y'all have a good time? And she said yes. Two hours Jen: There you go. Barry: standing makes it worth it. Kids don't know what you do for Maybe one day it'll Jen: Mm-hmm. I know it. Shaun: One day, when she's about 25, 30, well, 30, 35. Let's say 30 to 35. You think 25? I feel like when you're Barry: I hope. No, I hope. No, I think twenty five thirty. She's she's Jen: I think twenty five, yeah. Shaun: 25, you're still, you're just out there having fun at that age. Barry: No, I mean you're out there, but you're starting to see those connections, I feel like. You're starting to be like, dang, my parents were smarter than I thought. Shaun: Yeah, I think they start to come together. I think 30 is where it actually hits. Jen: Yeah. Barry: But we'll see. I don't know, bro. We may not be here then. We might be gone from AI, so who knows? Shaun: That's true. Could be next week. Never know. Barry: Have you seen that? Like Elon Shaun: Could be tomorrow. Barry: Musk's timeline of what AI is gonna do? Shaun: No. Jen: No. Barry: I should have I saw it. I should have like sent it to y'all. Shaun: No. Barry: But within twelve years, we are no longer gonna be needed in the workforce, according to I think that's about what it was. Shaun: That's not super shocking. Jen: Yeah. So where do we go from there? Barry: Apparently we're gonna have ultimate abundance and we can just choose to work or we can do whatever we want. That's what that's Jen: Mm, 'cause that's really what it's gonna look like, yeah. Shaun: Okay. Barry: what I'm hoping for, right? No. The top the top twenty people that have billions of dollars. Yeah. Shaun: When he says we, he's talking about him and everybody else that's with him. Yeah. We'll Jen: Hi in the other billionaires. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: have ultimate abundance as the richest man in the world. Okay. Yeah. Barry: Uh-huh. Jen: Literally. Yeah. Barry: Feel like you've already attained that, sir. But Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Man. Barry: Sunday, Jen: Hmm. Barry: what do we do? I think Sunday was pretty chill. Shaun: This dude right here, I swear. Sunday, what do we do? Barry: Yo, I gotta go day by day. I do. We had another lacrosse practice. Shaun: Geriatric, Barry: Yo. With Jen: Ha ha ha ha. Barry: everything that's happening in the world and my life, but I just focus on what I can. Shaun: I you. Barry: But yeah. Football. Started watching some football. Steelers won. They're actually decent right now, but Shaun: Football. Very... That's nice. Who'd play? Barry: God you're gonna ask me and I'm not gonna know the answer. No, Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay. They won an overtime. They won an overtime. It was actually a really good game when I watched the Jen: Yeah. Shaun: that's right. They did play Tampa. Yeah, because I saw I saw a clip of that for the end Barry: highlights. It was happening while I we were at lacrosse practice. So I caught the kind of I don't even think I caught the end. I just caught the highlights right when it ended. But A Rod did some things. Shaun: Thanks. Barry: And he scored two T Ds. He's out here playing at forty, what, forty two? Shaun: I mean, do you think this is last year though? did he? I know. Barry: he already said it is. Yeah. Before the season started, he said this is it. Shaun: That makes sense. Go out while you still have something in the tank. Yeah. Barry: Yeah, and these two Odessa I mean they're four and two, I think. They're they're in the hunt in the AFC North. I don't think they're a contender, but they might make Shaun: Yeah. Barry: the playoffs. Shaun: See. Barry: And then today took my two hours and went and voted as y'all saw. Jen: Woo ooh. Barry: I'm proud of that. Proud of those units right Shaun: You got your sticker? Jen: Right. Barry: there. So Shaun: Proud of what? Barry: no, it's a reference to probably not a movie. I should reference, Get Him to the Greek. I know P. Diddy's out. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Wow. Barry: But yo, I still love that movie, I'm not gonna lie. Shaun: 21. I mean, it's still a funny movie though. Barry: No, it's Jen: It is. Barry: th what's his name? Is it Kroll, I think it's Nick Kroll who says it. There in the scene. It's just it's a reference me and Becca, I don't know. It's one of those things. Get Him to the Greek. If you haven't watched it and you're okay with enough to watch P. Diddy for a little bit. Shaun: Yeah, I haven't watched it in a long time. It's been years since I've seen that movie. Yeah. Barry: Yo, it's a hilarious movie. And Russell Brand, I feel like Jen: Yeah. Barry: he's out too. It's probably not a really good movie but to reference. But but Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: I I feel like he's been out for a while. Barry: he came back in for a hot minute. Shaun: I don't even know what he was out for. I feel like people get canceled and I don't even know what they were canceled for. Barry: He was out for nine eleventh. Shaun: was it? Barry: 'Cause he went in like the next day and said something about like he dressed up like Bin Laden or something. Shaun: god. Yeah, Barry: Yeah. Shaun: that's poor taste. Jen: Ha ha. Barry: But then he came back and then he's out again though. For nah, Shaun: I mean... Jen: didn't take him very long to say something. Barry: it was a good twenty years. Shaun: Life of a comedian, you never know. Sometimes the things you say. Barry: Don't talk about comedians. Don't talk about comedians, Shaun. Jen: I guess. I guess. Barry: They don't have any grace. Shaun: That's true, that's true. Jen: That's okay. We're just gonna let that roll. Shaun: gosh. Jen: Shaun, what was your week like? Barry: Good transition, Jim. Mine wasn't over, but no, I'm joking. Jen: Anytime. I'm here all night. It is now. Shaun: My week started with SNL last week. Jen: He said, Actually for looking Barry: Ha ha ha Jen: back to Monday. Shaun: No, my week was pretty good. no. Okay, let me backtrack that a little bit. Let me backtrack that. Barry: the bounce back, the get back? Jen: roller coaster of emotions just happened right now. Shaun: A good part of my week is that Snow White is back where she belongs. So I've got my car back, which is great. I'm Jen: Yay. Barry: I was like, Snow, why? Shaun: glad that that has happened. Snow White, that's my girl's name. So I've got her back. That was good. Yeah. Barry: Good to know, now that I know that. It's one of those things you probably would have questioned us that I've never known and now I'm supposed to know. Jen: Mm. Shaun: No, Barry: Now I know the name of your car. Jen: Now we know. Shaun: everything that I've told you, definitely should have known. But, Barry: Mm false. Jen: No. Shaun: I mean, you just don't know me. You forgot my freaking birthday! Of course you don't know me. Barry: You never told us your birthday. I never knew your birthday, Shaun. I will tell you that. Jen: We did. I knew his birthday and I did not realize that it was his birthday and I felt awful Shaun: See? Jen: after that. I like, babe, I can't believe I forgot his birthday. I do know. Shaun: Nah, y'all don't know anything about me, but it's okay. I get it. I'm the odd one out. So, I mean, it is what it is. Besides Jen's background Barry: my gosh, this guy This guy Jen: Get out of here. Shaun: and your shirt. mean, other than that, I'm the odd one out. Jen: Yeah. You're so pooping. Shaun: No, but yeah, my week was pretty decent. Finally got my car back on Friday. That was a bit of a journey though. So Barry: Bet enough some more of an ordeal, huh? Jen: A journey, yeah. Shaun: of course it couldn't go down without something else crazy happening. Jen: no. Shaun: So the second rental car that I had was a Jeep Grand Cherokee and Apparently, the way that it counts down on the gas mileage is by five mile increments. Makes no sense to me. Makes no sense to me, but Barry: Yo, you did not run out of gas. Shaun: it does. So it's Friday. I'm like, all right, today's the day I'm going to like when I go to lunch, I'm going to take this car back. I'll get an Uber, go get my car, drive my car back to work. And then I'm good. Everything is all set. So I get to work and there is 13 miles. left in the Jeep. Mind you, the rental place where I was taking the car back is like six miles away, so I Barry: no. Shaun: have enough. There is enough gas to Jen: He said, We're fine. Shaun: get me to that place. Well, well, Barry: Did you pay for the gas that they gave you? Like you just went with theirs? Jen: Mm. Shaun: well, I was wrong. Barry: no. Jen: Shaun, that is not your Shaun: So. Jen: car. You don't know how to trust that car. You don't know that. If it's your car, you can trust your car. That was not your car to trust. Shaun: I guess, I guess, Barry: Dang Shaun: yes. So I was on my way on lunch. I was on my way to take the car back and I was like, okay, I'm gonna stop and get some gas. I'm gonna fill it up before I get back because I have to fill it up because it has to be full. Mind you, I work literally across the street from a gas station, but I'm like, no, I'm good. I've got enough mileage to get there. Jen: Shaun, you goofy goober. Shaun: Tell me why. Tell Jen: I don't even feel bad for you now. Shaun: me why it runs out of gas. Barry: I mean if you have a gas station right across, bro. Shaun: It runs out of gas down the street like a half a mile away from where I need to take it. To make it even Barry: This guy. Shaun: worse, I passed a gas station on that corner. Barry: What was your plan? Why did you drive Jen: Yeah. What were you at what point are you like, you know what? Barry: by two casts? And yo, I will Shaun: You Barry: ride a car to that joint is our E, but you got Jen: Mm. Shaun: man. Barry: you gotta draw the line once you get down to like single digits, bro. Then you Jen: Yeah. Barry: just gotta go ahead and Shaun: man, so- Barry: all right, I gotta get in. Shaun: If anybody knows like the northwest side of Austin, like Barry: This guy Shaun: the place where I was taking it, I was taking it to the Walmart on 620 and I was taking, Barry: okay. Shaun: I'm coming from 183, so I'm turning on Lake Line so that I can actually, or sorry, Lake Creek so I can actually get there. And there's a 7-Eleven right there on the corner of 183 and Lake Barry: This guy. Shaun: Creek. I'm like, no, I'm going to Walmart. I can just stop it. I can stop at the Walmart gas station. It's in the parking lot. Just get the gas and we're good. Nope. Barry: I'll stop right there. It's probably the cheapest gas in the area too. Shaun: Right? As soon as I turn the corner, I can feel the compression. It's nope, no more gas left. So I pull over and I go into the parking lot and I'm like, crap, now I gotta go and get a gas can so I can get some gas and put gas in it so I can make it back to the gas station that I just passed. So yeah, did that, walked to 7-Eleven, got a gas can. Why are they so expensive, by the way? Freaking ridiculous. Yeah. Barry: 'Cause they know it's a the convenience buy for you. Jen: 'Cause yeah, they wanna take advantage of the people exactly. They gotta do it. Barry: Yeah. Shaun: It's so insane. There used to be a pet boys there, but it is now a. What is it? It's it's a Jen: That boy through everythingfulness. Shaun: gym now. I can't remember which gym it is. Is it a crunch? It might be a crunch. Barry: Crunch time fitness. I have no Jen: Crunch gin, yeah, crunch gym, I feel like Barry: clue what's there. I'm just saying I know that's the one that's like blowing up everywhere, yeah. Jen: I feel like crunches are going up everywhere, yeah. Shaun: What's the other, what's the purple one? I can't think of it. Barry: Purple. Jen: Fitness Planet Fitness? Barry: Planet Fitness. Shaun: Planet Fitness, I think it's a Planet Fitness. I Jen: Okay. Shaun: think it's a Planet Fitness. So that used to be a Pep Boys. I was like, all right, I'll just slide in the Pet Boys. I'll grab a... Yeah, I don't know what happened. It's a Barry: A pet boys turned into a planet fitness? How small or how big was that Pep boys? Jen: All right. Shaun: pretty decent size. It was a pretty decent size place. Jen: Yeah, I feel like Pep boys are pretty big usually. Shaun: Yeah. So I was like, all right, well, I'll just walk to 7-Eleven, get gas, and then drive to 7-Eleven so that I can get some gas. So I did that. Yeah. Barry: They they doubled up on you, bro. They made you buy the gas can and then come buy the gas. Shaun: Yeah. And then I'm like, well, what the hell Jen: That's so funny. Shaun: am going to do with this gas can because I'm in a rental car. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: I'm going to have to get into an Uber so I can't Barry: Who Shaun: put a gas can in an Uber. So yeah, so that's exactly Barry: Walking around with a gas cambo. Just Jen: Just out here donating gas cans, people. Shaun: what I did. So that made me feel good when I went to like actually fill up the car. I saw these dudes, they were working on a truck. I was like, hey, fellas, quick question. Do you all want a free gas can? I got this. I'm in a rental car. Jen: So strange, but Barry: Real random. Shaun: If you want it, you can have it. There's nothing else I can do with it. So that was a quick Jen: Literally. That's so funny. Shaun: 25 bucks down the drain. But hopefully they can get Barry: Yeah. Jen: Learned your lesson. Shaun: some good use out of it. Yeah, they can get some good use out of it and it'll be fine. Barry: That's always a good way to look at it. Shaun: Yeah, but then finally got that car back, went, picked up my car, and so far everything has been good. So that was my big part of the week. It was ridiculous. Jen: Law Jesus, please don't make this boy get another rental car any time in his life 'cause he'd be making weird choices Shaun: you Jen: with these rental cars. Shaun: It's not my fault. I mean, I can't help it. It is what it is. No, there should have been plenty. we don't want to go into the accountability conversation. Barry: kind of is. Jen: Sir, l weren't you the one talking about accountability the other day? You need to stand up, my boy. Barry: Mm. Let's do it. Shaun: But there should have been plenty of gas to get there. There should have been. Barry: I don't know bro, the thirteen miles, that's a real mm I mean, if it is truly thirteen, sure. Shaun: That's enough. If I'm going half of that distance, that should be good. Barry: I push it, but you're below Shaun: I I dunno. Barry: twenty, I feel like you just rollin' a dice. Yeah, that's why I'm like tw Jen: Yeah, I feel like twenty is my gauge. Like once it's twenty, I'm Shaun: I mean, I would never Jen: like, all right. Shaun: do it in my car, but I mean, it's a rental car. I don't care about the fuel pump. So Jen: Yeah. Shaun: I'm like, let's just try it. Barry: This guy. And look how that worked out for you. Shaun: yeah, Jen: Mm. Shaun: that worked out really well. But hopefully that is over. I won't have to worry about any more of those issues for a while. I did also go and hang out with a friend to watch the Broncos and the Seahawks play on last Thursday. That was really cool. Shout out Sheila. That was fun. They she's a big time Seahawks fan and there's a bar in Austin that is a Seahawk like they basically turn into a Seahawks bar. anytime they play. So I'm the lone Broncos fan there. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: It was so, so much fun. So much fun. Barry: that felt good, I bet it's always good when you walk out there. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: I had to leave at halftime because I had to drive home and make sure that I got the dog out and do stuff like that. But it was so much fun. Like they were, they have like these chants and things that they do anytime the Seahawks get a first down or they score such another level. Barry: Seahawks fans are on another level, bro. Twelfth man. Shaun: So I'm like, all right, well, let me turn up then. So every time the Broncos got a first downer score and I'm like over there cheering, clapping by myself, I'm the only person. Jen: Just by himself. Charge. Barry: Way to go. That feels good though. Yeah, I love going into an away arena as an away fan and the walk out with the dub. It's a really good feeling. Even though I did nothing to earn it, it's still a really good feeling. No. Shaun: I love that kind of stuff. Yes. Yes, like that's the best part. So nothing at all. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: But that was a really good time. Then took the dog to get groomed because I was supposed to go to another event on Saturday and I was gonna take him with me and then I was like, yeah I don't really feel like driving to Austin today. So I got him groomed, but we didn't go to the event. So It is what it is And yeah, that was basically my week Hopefully it is calm from now on We'll see We'll see how it goes Jen: Cross your fingers and your toes. Barry: Keeps life interesting though, bro. Shaun: You know And again, I'm glad it happened to me. Jen: Could be a little less interesting sometimes. Shaun: That's true. Jen: Everybody needs a little boredom in their life every now and then. Shaun: See, and I don't feel like I ever really get bored. I feel like I'm good. Jen: There you go. Barry: There you go. Shaun: I did treat myself since I grew a few more greys over the last two weeks. So I treated myself, got a couple new pair of shoes. Super excited about those. Jen: Shaun, Barry: said a couple a pair, not even a pair. Said a couple. Jen: I thought about you Yeah, no. I thought about you Shaun: See? Jen: I don't when when we were at Costco recently and they had these books on sale, but they were like decorative tabletop books, you know, like picture books that you flip through. and perfect. I knew I should have got it for you. Shaun: Literally the only kind of books that I have. They're all decorative. I ain't reading that. Jen: it was one that was sneakers and I was like, if this isn't like Shaun: Mmm. Jen: the perfect Shaun present ever. Shaun: I mean, I've got a bookshelf over here that it's got quite a few books on it. They don't get read, but Jen: Mm, that's so sad. Shaun: it's nice to have them. Why is that sad? Jen: That's a sad. Barry: Is it like a tabletop book then? Jen: Yeah. It's like a decorative tabletop picture book, just of sneakers. Shaun: I I can sit on my coffee table in my living room. Barry: Becca loves those. Shaun: Yeah, Becca takes it to a next level though. She's got hers like color coded. Jen: tell her to go check it out. Tell her to go check it out. Cause they had wine, Barry: No, I will not. I Jen: they had whiskey, they had no, they were so cute. no, she needs to go I'm gonna message her. I'm go I'm going to right now. Barry: will not. Nope. I'm sure they are. No, please don't. Shaun: Ooh, whiskey. No, Barry: Please don't. We don't need that in our life. She does that plenty. Shaun: she said I'm going to right now. Tell her to get me one of the sneaker ones and I'll pay her back because I'll have a Costco membership. Barry: Y'all messing me up out here, bro. Shaun: man, dude, let her live. You get to live all the time. Let her live. Barry: Shaun. Okay. Shaun: man. But while Jen texts your wife and tries to get her to go and spend some money coming up, or I guess technically just started, NBA is here. Thank goodness, because I am honestly Barry: Speaking of sneakers, bro. Jen: Then da da Shaun: I'm kind of out on football for now. We'll see. The Broncos are foreign, So that's great. But Barry: Sorry. Shaun: the Longhorns are. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Longhorns are out. Shaun: Like it's a definite slide, I guess is the way to say it. Barry: E Birdle Birdle Jen: no. Shaun: We don't have any quality wins except for Ohio State. So I think that it's basically over at this point. We'll see. I don't know. I refuse to look at it at this point. Barry: They're out of the top twenty five, right? I feel like that No, I mean, good for you. I again, no judgment, 'cause Shaun: Yeah. Barry: my boys are trash, so Shaun: You all won this weekend though, didn't? no, no, no, no, no, no, was a loss. Nevermind. Yeah. Yeah, it was an L. Yeah. Dude, did you, did you watch Barry: No. It was a loss. Marks the fourth in a row. Just a horrible slide. Jen: Hey yo. Shaun: the the ending of that Notre Dame and BYU game? Bro. the haunted house, Barry: I did not. I we were out at the the old haunted house when that was happening. Shaun: dude. my God, it was such a good ending. Barry: I did watch the high like I the next morning, Sunday morning I got on YouTube and watched the highlights. Shaun: Like I don't like Notre Dame, can't stand them. I hate the whole non-conference still making it to the playoffs thing. Barry: Here's the thing, bro. They had to go with the Big Twelve ref team 'cause they can't do their own. Again. I feel bad Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. So. Barry: for the timing error, but outside of that, Shaun: What do you do? I mean, there's nothing to do there. Barry: nope. Shaun: So I don't know. I thought that was a really interesting one. anyway, football, I think I'm kind of out on it at this point. We'll see. We'll see how it ends up turning out. Jen: Some sand. Shaun: But NBA, this is about to be a movie of a season. Yes. Barry: Starts tomorrow. We're recording Monday. this will air Thursday, but tomorrow, Jen: Sometimes Barry: first day of the NBA. Shaun: Yes, this is about to be a movie of a season. So it's way too early. It's too early. Barry: Can't wait for this season, man. I'm so excited. Yeah, preseason just ended. Yeah. Shaun: It's always too early anytime you do anything in preseason. But who do you have coming out of the West and the East? Well, I know who you have coming out of the East. Never mind. Barry: I mean, I'm biased. I was gonna say, and I okay, to to say this though, Shaun: god. Barry: bef no no no no no Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: before the preseason, I wouldn't have thought that the Boston would be a contender. But based on what I've seen the preseason, it it it is garbage. No no no no, and that's Shaun: Okay. Pre-season this garbage. Don't tell me you're making... Barry: why I'm not trying to be overly inflated about it. But to see the depth of which the Celtics rolled out in the preseason. And to win with not always starting the starters, I have more confidence in them because I feel like even with the loss of JB, which y'all is huge. Don't get it's massive. But if we're building around one player now in Jayson Tatum, I feel they have a lot, if not majority, if not all of the pieces that they would need to build a contender around him based off what I've seen. Again, to Shaun's point, this is way too early to say, but I haven't seen anything before preseason. It was all on paper. And to see what I've seen in the preseason gives me confidence as a Celtics fan. And I try and be real. I will always try and be real. I didn't think the Celtics were gonna be as good as they were last year. I thought I had them as a top five team where people Shaun: Hmm. Barry: had as a playing team without Jayson Tatum, but I I don't know. I feel confident that they'll be in there contending for the Eastern Conference title. I do feel that. But I've I'm yo, if and to Shaun's gonna have his Shaun: We'll see. We'll see. Jen: Shaun clearly feels the same. Barry: opinion where I feel like he's I know he'll he'll pick. And I give him that. Rightfully so. You don't know because we are we haven't seen the real season yet. Shaun: That's true. We don't know. Barry: I feel like around all star halfway through the season you'll have we will have a better and I could potentially be like, Yeah, no, they're not this year for the Celtics 'cause I don't wanna I don't wanna sit here and be silly and be like, yo, they're gonna win it when they really aren't there. I don't wanna feel that way. I hate feeling that way. So I always try and be real. So Jen: Do teams who perform well in preseason usually do well, or is it like a toss-up? Cause Shaun's face was saying Shaun: No. No. Barry: No, it doesn't know it it has no correlation. No, no, no, no. But I'm just saying because to me, losing Jaylen Brown, I thought it's gonna be a huge slide. But to see Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: what I've seen in what they have when people like the talent level, like Payton Pritchard, Derek White looks better. Yo, Mitchell Robinson has looked dope as I don't know what in the preseason. But again, that's the preseason. But just to see them play, Shaun: to hit them free throws. Barry: yeah, but For sure, yo, Hack a Mitch ain't gonna stop. Shaun: You Barry: So we'll see. But Shaun: So you're taking Boston out of the East, who you got in the West? Barry: The West Yo, I don't know. I don't know, bro. You're watching the wolves. The wolves might be like the dark horse in the West. If they could stay out of trouble, like off the court. Shaun: That ain't happening. Barry: They could really compete. Shaun: There's a zero percent chance that they stay out of trouble. Jen: Why? What's going on? Barry: Just the two yeah, the the media they've been putting out is insane. Shaun: Their two stars are hilarious. Barry: It's insane. Shaun: So there are two star players, Jen. One can't keep it in his pants. He got like 17 baby mamas. And the other one Jen: Heard. Okay. Barry: He's got a lot of baby mamas, Jim. Lots of baby mamas. Shaun: is a menace on the highway. Barry: Lot of lot of tickets. Jen: Interesting. Shaun: A lot of tickets, a lot of reckless driving, hopping out of Jen: Mm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: one car, getting into another car. Barry: Like GTA, like straight up. Shaun: Basically. Jen: Yeah. Hmm. Shaun: But they are phenomenal basketball players. so much like they are great at what they do. Jen: They could just lock in. Barry: They are very talented. Shaun: They are great at what they're at their craft. They put in work for sure. There's just like, can they say I'm so I'm so ready to see Jen: Can they lock in? Shaun: those post game interviews though, dude, man, they're going to be legendary. So we'll see how that works out. Barry: Yeah, they're gonna be fire, bro. Yeah. I I my gut says San Antonio just cause I feel like they're only gonna get better. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Go Spurs Go Barry: But I could see yeah, and I'm I don't say that like excitingly, but Shaun: Oop. Hehehe. Yeah, oop. Barry: yo, cause speak of the devil, their tickets are ridiculous. I'm mad at Shaun: Yeah. Barry: that for sure. Shaun: I mean, that usually happens after a team goes to the finals though. Barry: But yo, ridiculo like double. Shaun: People will pay it Barry: I'm not. Definitely not. Shaun: So you got the Celtics and the Spurs, who are you taking? Barry: I'm that's what I'm thinking. Shaun: How far? Five games, six games, seven games? Barry: Yo, I don't I'd have to see where their health is, bro. once you get to Shaun: That's true. Barry: the finals, it's all on who's healthy, man. It is, it really is a whole bunch of luck. Shaun: whole bunch of luck and a whole bunch of health at that point really. Yeah. Barry: So we'll see. That's who I would pick to make the finals. In our entirely too early. We haven't played a minute of basketball yet, really, truthfully. Shaun: are way too early predictions. Way too early predictions. Yeah. Jen: But those are so fun though, because it is so like toss up in the air. Shaun: Man. Well, I mean, you said that you know who I'm picking out of the East, you think I'm picking? Barry: Really? Shaun: If, okay, there's been a lot of buzz around Kyrie. If somehow Miami can pull off the Kyrie trade, Barry: I've heard that and I've heard that. Shaun: I'm all in, I'm locked in that Miami can actually make it out of these. Barry: Okay. So with that being said, who do y'all give up to get him and still be competitive? Shaun: I think Davion Mitchell, he's super young, but he's got a lot of upside potential. Yeah, really strong defensive guard. Barry: Okay. He does, he's a defensive guard, like he's really good defensively. I'll give him but he's not a great offensive guard. Shaun: And I don't know, maybe some future picks or swaps. I don't know how much we have left after the Giannis trade. But. Barry: I don't really know what y'all got either. I don't either after Giannis. That's what I'm saying. That's what I like you sh it had the math has to math. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: But is Kyrie happy in Dallas and is Dallas happy with Kyrie since he doesn't stay or he hasn't stayed healthy in Dallas? Barry: He hasn't. He's played very little. When he was healthy they went to the finals. I don't know Shaun: It's just I'm like, how much do you want to really take from him? So I don't know. If they can pull that off, I'm all in on Miami. I would love to see Miami in the finals again because it's been a while, 2019 or something like that since we've been in the finals. So it's been a really long time. Barry: Yeah, I made it in bubble and then twenty three. Shaun: 23. Barry: No. Yeah. Shaun: 23 in the finals. Barry: Yeah, that's when y'all played the Nuggets with Jimmy. That was the year Shaun: Was that 23? Barry: s game seven, Tatum rolled his ankle. Shaun: that was! That's very true. I remember the bubble with the Lakers, but does that count to Astros? Barry: I know my facts, bro. The bubble with the Lakers and then twenty three with I won't. But it does. Shaun: I think the bubble was more difficult than any other ring at that point. So. And Jimmy was exhausted in the bubble like you could see it. Barry: It was a crazy time. That's why I'm like, I could I could yeah, he carried y'all. He carried y'all to that joint. Shaun: So, I don't know, I would love to see that happen. If it doesn't happen, think Philly is going to be tough. If they have the health, it's going to be tough to beat them. They have question marks, of course, because they're new. Barry: Still feel like they got a lot of question marks, bro. Like watching them, they gotta figure out roles. Shaun: I don't think that'll be that much of an issue once they get going. Barry: I do, bro. Shaun: The reason why I don't feel like it's going to be that much of an issue is because Bron is at the point that he doesn't want to be the number one player. People are going to say it because he is who he is. He does not want, yeah, he does not want to be that anymore. Barry: I see that. No, no, no. I can completely see him taking a back seat. I'd I would agree with you on that, a hundred percent. Shaun: So I think like with him and Maxey facilitating the offense and running the offense through JB and, Embiid. As long as Embiid can stay healthy, that's going to be. Barry: I don't think that's gonna happen. Shaun: That's gonna be tough. I don't know. It's just Barry: I don't Shaun: gonna be tough. I know that you hate Philly because JB's over there now. Barry: I do. No no no, I don't even hate it 'cause of that. I just hate I don't enjoy them. Jen: Mm. He said, No, I do. Shaun: Yeah. It's a tough place to like. Any of their teams are really tough to like. Yeah. Barry: Yo, they're hardcore fans. Again, Jen: Yeah. Barry: I feel like we've talked about it on the pod. I will not wear Celtics if I ever went to a game of Philly. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Even if I was going to watch the Celtics, 'cause they will heckle you till you Jen: He ain't trying to die. Barry: and I'm not trying to get in no fights for Shaun: Alright. Barry: sure, especially over no sports. Nah. Them and the Knicks. Shaun: Yeah, that's all. Barry: Those are the two places I would never wear opposing Shaun: Yeah, Boston and New York, they have a long time. Like, don't, yeah. Yeah, don't do anything there. Barry: No, and there's a feud there too for sure. But y'all saw what happened to the San Antonio fans, like even in the finals. Like they have no feud and that was how you got treated. You talking about a Jen: Yeah. Shaun: That's true. Jen: Mm. Barry: Celtics feud, please. No, I'm good. Shaun: Yeah, so I don't know about that, but I think if Miami pulls off that trade, I say Miami's coming out of the East. If not, then Philly, they're probably going to come out. The West, I'm right there with you. I would love to see the Timberwolves make it to the finals. Like you have no idea how much I would love to see that happen. Barry: That would be crazy. That would be crazy. Shaun: It'll just be so much fun. I feel like OKC is still a contender, although they have had a lot of movement that doesn't really bode well for them. Barry: Mm-hmm. I would agree. Shaun: But, I hate to say it, but San Antonio, I think San Antonio does have a really good shot of making it up. They are. They've got Barry: Yo, they're deep. They they are only building. They didn't lose any pieces, like Shaun: so much youth. They didn't lose any of their major pieces. Barry: And they got Tobias Harris, which I'm not a huge Tobias Harris fan, but Shaun: Turn it on. Barry: I feel like he fits he fits them very well. He's a good role player and he is that, yes. Yep. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah, he's a role player. He's a role player. He can be in his spot. He can hit his shots when he needs to. And we'll see. I don't know. So I would love Minnesota to come out. If that doesn't happen, it's probably going to be San Antonio. It would be my thought. I mean, Denver Denver is always a contender to, but. Barry: I'm gonna go with that, my gut. I would agree. I would love to see. I I have to see how Dum Demar, fits in. Dude's still a bucket. Shaun: Again, think he, yeah, I think he still is one of those players that can just be a utility guy and do whatever you need. Barry: I seem to see him in Kyle Kyler Murray or not Kyler Murray. what's his name? Gosh, Jamal. Shaun: Jamal Murray Yeah. Barry: I need to see him and Jamal play next to each other. You Shaun: I think that'll be fun. Barry: think? Shaun: Yeah, because I also don't think Demar's out there trying to. And plus, I mean, you have to think about your kitchen, how he can just find players anywhere on the court. Yeah. Barry: He's a distributor, yeah. He is very he has a vision, bro. Shaun: Demar is a mid-range sniper, so I mean, if he's anywhere and Barry: yeah. Mid range game is Shaun: then Jokic sees him, that's game over. So I don't know. We'll see. Barry: Could work out. Shaun: We'll see how the white boy Lakers do too. They might surprise some people. The porcelain, yeah, the Barry: The the Porcelain Lakers, as Jen would say. Shaun: porcelain Lakers. Jen: Don't be using my word. Shaun: man, I don't know, but that's our way too early predictions. We'll see how it ends up. We'll check back in often probably, but for sure Barry: For sure. Shaun: around All-Star break, we'll see kind of where those teams are and what it's looking like and talk a little bit more about it. yeah. Speaking of kind of doing things out of the box and checking out different places, I want to go on a trip. I've been wanting to go on a trip. for a long time, but I am one of those people to where like I can't make a choice on like where I would want to go or how Barry: decision paralysis. Shaun: I want to go. Yes. And we Jen: Okay. Shaun: know at the place where I was before I had a ton of PTO and I never used it and I don't want to do that again. So I found this service or this business and what they do is they book a trip for you, but it's all a surprise. Jen: I've seen those. They look so yes, it looks so fun. If it was just me and Kenny, yes, for sure. I think they look so fun. And I've heard really great things about them. Yeah. That like they don't disappoint. Shaun: You've seen it? Would you do it? Yeah. Man. I'm really thinking about it. Really? I mean, it looks super cool. Barry: Nah bro. Hell no. Hell no. No, I'm good. Shaun: So essentially, like what it is, is like you start off with like this questionnaire. You like answer these questions about like the things that you like, the things that you don't like and some places that you just absolutely don't want to go. And then from there, they basically plan it and then they give you like the dates and like the airport of where you're supposed to go and things like that. But you don't know where you're going until you get there and you open the envelope. And that's when you actually know where it is that you're going. That sounds super cool. Barry: No, you know. Hell no. Hell no. Jen: So fun. So fun. They tell you like generally how to pack and like all of that stuff. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah, they tell you like kind of what the historical weather is, how to pack and things like that. Barry: Nah nah bra nah bro Shaun: Like, sounds super cool. Why are you so adamant about Barry: No sir. I mean Jen: It does sound so cool. Shaun: no, what is your problem? Barry: 'Cause I wanna know where I'm going. Shaun: You're such a control freak, You'll be- Jen: You will before you go. Barry: I'm not though, I'm really not, but yo, I could not just show up somewhere like, Yeah, you're going here and Shaun: You'll know before you board the Jen: Yeah. Barry: Great. No, I'll know way before 'cause I'm booking that joint. Jen: So pretty I hear Shaun: I don't know. Barry: No, that's if that's how you wanna get on, you're by yourself, well get out. Do some Shaun: I mean, I'm thinking about it. We'll see. We'll see if I actually Jen: It'd be fun. Shaun: do it, but it sounds like really cool thing to do. Jen: It does sound like a fun thing to do. Shaun: I mean, if I die, I die, you know? I mean, it's not really that big Barry: True there. Shaun: of a deal. Jen: I mean, I hope that you don't die, but let me know how it goes. Barry: You never know. You if you show up in some crazy place that you don't have a choice in picking. Jen: But they vet people, they vet places, exactly. Like Shaun: No, I mean, this is not gonna be a crazy place. Yes. Jen: they do all that kind of stuff for you. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I would hope. Shaun: I don't know. I think it's a really cool thing, but we'll see if I actually do it. Jen: Yeah. It is super cool. Barry: Do it, Shaun, don't actually do it. Do it. Shaun: I'm about to be broke at the beginning of the year, so that's probably not going to happen for a while, but... Dude, Barry: Why you we broke at the beginning of the year? Jen: Why are you gonna be broke? Yeah. Shaun: I gotta buy a new vehicle. What are you talking about? Barry: No, you don't got to, you are choosing Jen: Right. But Shaun: I have to. Barry: to. And it sounds from what I've heard that it's multiple vehicles. Jen: Nuhuh, you said Snow White was just fine. Yeah. You did. Shaun: That was told to you in confidence not to be on a recording for the entire Barry: my bad. Shaun: world to see Jen: Yeah, well. Barry: Well here we are. Shaun: or to hear. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: But here we are. But yeah, that that'll happen. But that doesn't change the fact that I'm going to be super broke. Jen: You're not gonna Barry: So that's our choice, bro. Jen: be super broke. Stop playing. Mm-hmm. Shaun: It'll be nice to dream about. I don't know. Barry: You and Ace gonna be fine. Jen: Just fine. Shaun: I ain't taking ace with me. Heck no. Although I could, but no, it's just too much. Barry: Yeah, they have dog additions Jen: sure. Shaun: I mean, he's technically a support animal. I got him registered as a support animal, so he can fly with me if Jen: See, there you go. Barry: Okay. Shaun: I need to. Barry: Interesting. Shaun: I ultimately did it so I got out of the rent for him when I was in an apartment. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: But it works. He can follow me. He can do whatever he needs to do. But would I do it? Probably not. Barry: Yeah, I would not take my dog anywhere. Shaun: a little Zig. Why not? Little Zig is so small, dude. You can just hold on to Zig and like put him in your pocket and you're good. Barry: Never. The hell? Jen: Poor Ziggy baby. Yeah, you can put in a carrier and go. Yeah. Barry: Yo, that dude has high anxiety, bro. He would not work well. Jen: Hm. Shaun: He looks like he has high anxiety. Barry: He does. Yo, when we get back, just from like yo, if I leave it, go up the street and come back from like 10, 15 minutes later, bro has a Jen: Freaking out. Barry: it just like he's shaking when I walk in the door because I don't know why. No. Shaun: He misses you. He loves you. Jen: You're so excited. Yeah. Shaun: What? Like, why is it such a bad thing that your dog loves you? Jen: Why do you deny his love? Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I don't know if I don't know, bro. I just I don't I don't get emotionally attached to animals. I don't hate my dog. I appreciate him for what he is. Shaun: Why do you hate your dog? It sounds like it. Barry: He's a companion to my wife and Shaun: I appreciate him for what he is. Barry: my children. And he's a great he's a great pet. I would never think he would do anything to hurt either one of my children. But when he goes, I'm gonna be Shaun: feel like we're learning a lot about you right now, Barry. Barry: just fine. Shaun: If he goes, are you going to be responsible for it? Barry: No, not if when he goes. Shaun: When he goes, are you going to be responsible for it? The way that you're talking. It sounds like you're not going to be sad Jen: gonna be responsible for? Answer the question, Barry. Are you gonna murder your dog? Barry: What do you mean by that? Shaun: when he goes. Yeah. Are you going to off your dog? Barry: I'll be sad for my wife and my children 'cause I know they're gonna be distraught. Jen: Yeah, they will. Shaun: Why are you avoiding the question, are you going to be responsible for the loss of Zig? Barry: I don't understand the question still. I'm not gonna murder him. No, I will put him down humanely. Jen: He's meaning are you gonna murder your dog, Barry? Are you gonna kill him? Shaun: I don't understand the question. Barry: It's not gonna be Shaun: gosh. Barry: murder. Shaun: It's called Mukduck. You can't say murder. Barry: Okay. Euthanasia, I'm going to euthanize him. Jen: All right. Euthanasia. Shaun: What's going on with the euthanasia? Barry: The euthanasia, that's Jen: Yeah. Barry: what it's called. Shaun: god, man. Barry: I will hold his little paw when he goes softly into the night, sure. They say that's comforting to animals. I'll be that. He's comforted us in so many ways. I can be there for him. I'll shed a tear. I told ya I have no problem crying. Am I gonna once it happens, gonna be like emotionally affected probably. Shaun: I mean, you're already over the limit of how much you're gonna spend on him. So if anything happens again, yeah, he's already maxed out his card. Barry: I mean if yeah. He's been maxed out for sure. Jen: He's maxed out. Shaun: my god. Barry: But I don't know, I just I don't know. Animals are animals to me, man. Shaun: That's fair. So you're heartless, we get it. It is what it is. Barry: Sure, that's what you want to call it? I have heart for humans more than I do for animals, for sure. Shaun: Really, see, I feel like I'm the opposite. I feel like I prefer Barry: Hm. To each is own. Shaun: pets over people. People Barry: Yeah. Shaun: suck. Barry: People do suck, I'll give you that, but Shaun: People are like the best and the worst part of the human experience. Barry: So I focus on the best. Jen: a hundred percent. Barry: And the best are the people closest to me. Because the best are the Shaun: How do you focus on the best? I feel like there's... Barry: people closest to me, in my opinion. Shaun: That's true, I guess. Barry: So I do focus on them and they get they get my my bandwidth. Jen: Love and effort and Yeah. Barry: All those things. And I go out of I mean I do nice things for him. The dog. He's well taken care of. He has a good life, in my opinion. Shaun: Name one thing. Barry: I cut his hair. Shaun: That's a nice thing for him. Jen: I was about to say, Barry, I don't know. Let me see the after results and then I'll let you know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Barry: Are you kidding me? Okay, he looks decent enough. He looks Shaun: How is that a nice thing for him though? Barry: 'Cause he can see and he can get along and not be shaggy and look like a a bum. Shaun: He could also Jen: Ha ha. Shaun: go to a pet spa and get like properly washed and cut and trimmed and rubbed and combed and everything. He could have a spa day. Barry: I properly wash him just fine, bro. He comes out clean. What you talking about? That is not needed for a dog. He's an animal. Shaun: gosh. Barry: You don't know what you don't got unless you know what you're missin'. Shaun: Poor little Zig Zig. It is what it is, you know? Barry: He's fine. Shaun: Sure. He's fine for now, until you get your hands on him. We'll see what happens then. Barry: Get my hands on him when I need to cut his hair and he's fine. Shaun: Jen texts Becca again and tell her to keep an eye on Zig. Yeah, Barry: Y'all are crazy. Jen: Blink twice if you need help. Shaun: make sure that she doesn't leave Zig at home by himself with Barry. Barry: Y'all are crazy. my god. Jen: Supervised visitation only. Barry: Yeah, I probably take better care of him than the rest of the fam, so what are we talking about? Shaun: Yeah, right. We'll see. Barry: He gets all the credit for being cute. Shaun: I mean, that's Jen: It is true. Shaun: usually how it goes. Same thing with Barry: It is facts. Shaun: Ace, he gets all the credit too. Barry: He's a he's a I'm only gonna say Jen: He's a handsome guy. Barry: it, sure. Jen: Handsome pup. Shaun: little pup which he's not really a pup anymore he's what like 10 years old 10 9 11 Jen: No way, Barry: It's Jen: really? Barry: about where Zig's Shaun: Well no, I'm talking about... Yeah, this one's talking about Zieg, isn't he? Like, 9 or 10? 8? okay. Barry: he's eight. He'll turn nine in February. Shaun: Ace? Yeah, Ace turns 10 this December. Barry: Two thirds of the way there. Shaun: then I will be distraught. Barry: Be here, Shaun. Shaun: Not your own. Barry: I will. I'll be here for you. I choose humans over animals, so Jen: There you go. Barry: I'm here for you. Shaun: I appreciate that, It'll be a hard 24 hours. Barry: Yeah, I don't gotta worry about me when Ziggy dies. I'll be okay. Shaun: Well, we know. Barry: I'll be in the with him in the room. Shaun: We can clearly tell. Well, let's get out of here. 21, 21. Barry: Twenty one. Shaun: Can you do something for me? What's 9 plus 10? Barry: Apparently it's twenty one. Shaun: God, dude, you've got what's 9 plus 10 21 you Barry: It's nineteen. Shaun: stupid dude.
