- 1:01Speaker 2: Juicy Scoop. Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. We are
- 1:06Speaker 2: gonna have such a great show. I have a return
- 1:08Speaker 2: guest from many, many years back. We're trying to figure
- 1:11Speaker 2: out when the first time she came on. Writer, producer, actress, author,
- 1:16Speaker 2: one-woman show, comedian, beautiful girl, second marriage. So that says
- 1:24Speaker 2: a lot. Two people wanted to marry you. Welcome back,
- 1:27Speaker 2: Jamie Lee.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Thank you for having me.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, so- When you came on years ago,
- 1:33Speaker 2: you had a book coming out called.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Ridiculous.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Ridiculous. That was all kind of like your funny stories
- 1:39Speaker 2: of getting.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Of wedding planning.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Of wedding planning and all that. And then also I
- 1:43Speaker 2: enjoyed you on Crashing.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Where you wrote and appeared on that show, which was very,
- 1:49Speaker 2: a real perspective of the most realistic like standup life,
- 1:54Speaker 2: standup comedy life that I've seen in a show.
- 1:57Speaker 3: I think so too. I feel like we did a
- 1:58Speaker 3: good job.
- 1:59Speaker 2: But you've been killing it. Since you appeared on Juicy Scoop,
- 2:02Speaker 2: your life really took off. Oh, yeah. Here you are
- 2:05Speaker 2: from a couple years ago that you've won many Emmys
- 2:08Speaker 2: for Ted Lasso.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Where you wrote, you're a writer on that and an
- 2:13Speaker 2: executive producer.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Now I'm an executive producer. I started, I think, as
- 2:16Speaker 3: a producer. That's amazing.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Whatever the Guild credits are. That is amazing.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 2:21Speaker 2: But you were first just complimenting me.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Complimenting me about my spray tan.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Well, I said.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I don't have a spray tan.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Which is shocking. Yeah. Because you have the most gorgeous,
- 2:30Speaker 3: I have to say for the listeners, the most gorgeous
- 2:33Speaker 3: even glow. That's the key. Your face matches your legs.
- 2:37Speaker 3: I don't see that. Normally the face is a different color.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you. I have been promoting Jurgen Self
- 2:44Speaker 2: Tanner for like 15 years. We have reached out. They
- 2:50Speaker 2: have said she is not our demographic. We don't want
- 2:53Speaker 2: to work with her.
- 2:54Speaker 3: That's criminal.
- 2:55Speaker 2: And Juergens, if that was someone that wrote back that
- 2:58Speaker 2: wasn't you, I still love your product.
- 3:02Speaker 3: I mean, come on, look at her.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I still love, like, even if you don't want me,
- 3:09Speaker 2: I still, I won't, I won't be like that.
- 3:13Speaker 3: You're being really generous and cool.
- 3:15Speaker 2: But if Juergens wants to come around or if somebody
- 3:17Speaker 2: else wants to go, Heather, give us a try. I
- 3:19Speaker 2: will try someone else because I do get a lot
- 3:22Speaker 2: of compliments on what's going on, how am I so tan, whatever.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I use sunscreen and then I use, you know, the stuff.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Can we talk about the application? Are we adding it
- 3:34Speaker 3: to lotion?
- 3:34Speaker 2: Yes, I will tell you the application.
- 3:36Speaker 3: How are we getting it so streak free?
- 3:39Speaker 2: Exfoliate.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Sure.
- 3:41Speaker 2: And then you put it on after your shower and
- 3:44Speaker 2: it builds.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:45Speaker 2: And then like after like five or seven days, exfoliate again,
- 3:49Speaker 2: start over. And there never is that streaking. I mean.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Are you putting it on your face?
- 3:55Speaker 2: I do put it on my face once in a while.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Like every few days, I'll put just a little bit
- 4:00Speaker 2: on my face. Oh, my God.
- 4:01Speaker 3: It's incredible.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Well, thank you.
- 4:02Speaker 3: And I love that you're pro exfoliation because I feel
- 4:05Speaker 3: like when I get a spray tan, they're like, don't
- 4:07Speaker 3: exfoliate or it'll go away. And then I'm like, but
- 4:10Speaker 3: I want to exfoliate, which is why I don't get
- 4:12Speaker 3: spray tans because I don't like to not like. scrubbing
- 4:15Speaker 3: off my dead skin cells is like one of my
- 4:17Speaker 3: greatest pleasures in life.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I think if you wanted to build a little weight,
- 4:21Speaker 2: you know, a few showers in between, don't do it
- 4:23Speaker 2: every shower. Sure, sure, sure. But then, yeah, then start over.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Then you can start over, which I like.
- 4:27Speaker 2: And it's still like in your skin, like you're still
- 4:29Speaker 2: not like white as can be.
- 4:30Speaker 3: It's incredible.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Well, thanks for nothing, Juergens. Anyway, you've won Emmys for
- 4:37Speaker 2: being an executive producer and writer on Ted Lasso. So
- 4:40Speaker 2: you've And you've got so much going on. I want
- 4:43Speaker 2: to get into so many things. But then, really, we're
- 4:47Speaker 2: here to talk about a juicy crime story that is
- 4:53Speaker 2: so up my alley. You have a one-woman show that
- 4:58Speaker 2: people can go see. The tour is beginning. My Friend Katie,
- 5:04Speaker 2: about a friend of yours in college who mysteriously died.
- 5:08Speaker 5: Yes.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Let's talk about that first.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Great.
- 5:11Speaker 2: And then let's get back into all the other things
- 5:13Speaker 2: you've done in your career, which I think will be
- 5:15Speaker 2: very juicy. Then we'll get into the Hollywood hot topics.
- 5:17Speaker 2: But I want to hear about this and how you
- 5:20Speaker 2: came about to pursue this.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Right.
- 5:22Speaker 3: So my best friend, Katie, she suddenly and mysteriously passed
- 5:29Speaker 3: away when I was in college.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Was she in college with you?
- 5:32Speaker 3: She was two years younger than me, so she was
- 5:35Speaker 3: still in high school.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Um, or maybe, yeah, yeah, towards the end of high
- 5:40Speaker 3: school for her. And, um, yeah, it was just completely, uh,
- 5:45Speaker 3: a surprise, a shock, completely confounding.
- 5:47Speaker 2: What did they say it was?
- 5:48Speaker 3: Well, that was the thing is that they never really said.
- 5:51Speaker 3: And there was one thing in her, um, not eulogy,
- 5:55Speaker 3: what's the word?
- 5:57Speaker 2: Obituary.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Thank you. Obituary. I call it the obitch in the show.
- 6:02Speaker 3: But yeah, there was a thing in her obituary that
- 6:04Speaker 3: said she struggled with nephrotic syndrome. What is that? So
- 6:09Speaker 3: that is an issue where proteins leak from your kidneys,
- 6:13Speaker 3: I believe. I think that is the definition. But more importantly,
- 6:18Speaker 3: I found out that you don't die from nephrotic syndrome
- 6:20Speaker 3: and also Katie never mentioned having any kidney issues of
- 6:24Speaker 3: any kind. So it was always this red flag, definitely
- 6:29Speaker 3: sent off alarm bells. But I was in college, you know,
- 6:33Speaker 3: I was like going out and like partying with my friends.
- 6:35Speaker 3: So I kind of wasn't processing what had happened. I
- 6:38Speaker 3: was just kind of like pushing it deep down.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Did you attend the funeral? Did you go home?
- 6:43Speaker 3: I ended up saying at the funeral, like in front
- 6:46Speaker 3: of everybody, this is so fucked up that we're here
- 6:48Speaker 3: right now. I was so angry. And yeah, it was
- 6:53Speaker 3: definitely like not my proudest moment, but I didn't really
- 6:55Speaker 3: know what to say because I was in such shock.
- 6:59Speaker 3: And then I really kind of just pushed it down
- 7:01Speaker 3: and tried to like chug along in life. And then
- 7:04Speaker 3: when my dad died in 2021, I had this sort
- 7:09Speaker 3: of reckoning where I was like, wait, I know how
- 7:11Speaker 3: my dad died of a heart attack. But the last
- 7:15Speaker 3: person I lost who was close to me, I don't
- 7:18Speaker 3: know how she died. So it kind of sent me
- 7:19Speaker 3: into the spiral where I was like, I need to
- 7:22Speaker 3: get to the bottom of this because I am not
- 7:23Speaker 3: healed from what happened to Katie. And so I took
- 7:27Speaker 3: it upon myself to launch an amateur investigation and into
- 7:32Speaker 3: what happened to her. And I was interviewing people and
- 7:35Speaker 3: cold calling and it was a true journey. I just
- 7:39Speaker 3: kind of stumbled into it. I never was like, this
- 7:41Speaker 3: is going to be a show, you know. But then
- 7:44Speaker 3: the nature of it is that I'm a comedian and
- 7:46Speaker 3: I'm a writer. So I kind of was like, wait,
- 7:49Speaker 3: like this is actually like a really big sort of
- 7:51Speaker 3: like narrative in my life right now. And so it
- 7:54Speaker 3: started to take shape as sort of like a documentary
- 7:57Speaker 3: project mixed with stand up. And now it's like a
- 8:00Speaker 3: proper stage show where I do throw to some of those, um,
- 8:03Speaker 3: pieces of interview during the show.
- 8:05Speaker 2: So you see, Oh, so there's like a visual.
- 8:08Speaker 3: I don't have visuals in the show, but I have
- 8:09Speaker 3: audio of like, and I spoke to this person and
- 8:11Speaker 3: then I throw to the clip. Cause if I was
- 8:13Speaker 3: thought about doing the, probably if, if, and when it
- 8:16Speaker 3: releases as a special, there will be visual doc footage
- 8:20Speaker 3: cut in. But for the stage show, I kind of
- 8:22Speaker 3: felt like, going from video to me on stage was
- 8:25Speaker 3: like a little distracting. So I just minimized it with
- 8:28Speaker 3: the audio.
- 8:28Speaker 2: When you started to go down the journey, were you like,
- 8:30Speaker 2: because you're a successful person in this business, were you
- 8:33Speaker 2: thinking like, do I get some camera people to follow
- 8:37Speaker 2: me around? Do I start to do.
- 8:38Speaker 3: My own mini doc? Yeah, immediately I knew it's the
- 8:42Speaker 3: first thing I've ever worked on where I really did
- 8:45Speaker 3: not know what the outcome was. I just felt super
- 8:48Speaker 3: compelled to do it. So I found this guy, Alex Hammer.
- 8:51Speaker 3: He's a brilliant director, filmmaker, and he had made Amy
- 8:55Speaker 3: Schumer's three-part documentary series for HBO called Expecting Amy. I
- 9:00Speaker 3: saw Expecting Amy. I'm loving it. And I go, who
- 9:02Speaker 3: made this with her? And it was Alex Hammer. Find
- 9:05Speaker 3: out we're repped by the same agency. I talked to
- 9:06Speaker 3: my agents. I go, I want to get this guy involved.
- 9:08Speaker 3: I don't know if he would want to come on board,
- 9:10Speaker 3: but I think I have this nugget of an idea.
- 9:13Speaker 3: And he was in From Jump. He was like, I'm here. Like,
- 9:18Speaker 3: let's do this. So then I had him to turn to.
- 9:21Speaker 3: And if he couldn't be there to film me, because
- 9:23Speaker 3: a lot of this was in Texas and he was
- 9:25Speaker 3: in New York, he would like send someone out that
- 9:28Speaker 3: he knew to come film with me. And we just
- 9:30Speaker 3: collected so much footage. We had no, we weren't editing
- 9:34Speaker 3: anything at that point. It was just like footage, footage, footage,
- 9:37Speaker 3: chasing leads. I mean, like I was fully, you know,
- 9:40Speaker 3: and then of course the show is a comedy, like
- 9:43Speaker 3: because I'm not an FBI agent, I don't know what
- 9:45Speaker 3: the hell I'm doing.
- 9:47Speaker 2: So it's like, so you're doing the stage show, which
- 9:50Speaker 2: we don't want to give it away. We want people
- 9:51Speaker 2: to go.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Yes, please come see it.
- 9:55Speaker 2: But then if this works out, then the footage that
- 9:58Speaker 2: you have and everything could be. made into... Yeah, I
- 10:01Speaker 2: think it's going to be mixed.
- 10:02Speaker 3: So it'll probably throw... It'll be like stage... Like stand-up special.
- 10:06Speaker 3: I want it to sort of be like an hour
- 10:07Speaker 3: and a half long.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Like kind of a.
- 10:09Speaker 3: I'm calling it like a stand-up movie, essentially. Where we
- 10:12Speaker 3: use what we found in the field to support the...
- 10:15Speaker 3: narrative I'm telling on stage.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I think that's so interesting because it's like, I do
- 10:19Speaker 2: feel like there's always those times, you know, like back
- 10:21Speaker 2: in the day, like the old movies, you know, it
- 10:24Speaker 2: would be like, they go to the library and they're,
- 10:27Speaker 2: they're doing the thing. All of a sudden they see
- 10:28Speaker 2: the microfiche and all of a sudden they were like, what?
- 10:32Speaker 2: Her whole family burned in a fire.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:35Speaker 1: What?
- 10:35Speaker 2: You know, like, and you're always, sometimes you're like doing
- 10:37Speaker 2: that and you're like, why isn't a camera following me?
- 10:39Speaker 2: Like I'm discovering something like weird. And in this world
- 10:43Speaker 2: of the last 10 years, thanks to streaming services, we're
- 10:47Speaker 2: able to see all these documentaries. I always said like,
- 10:49Speaker 2: when I'd be like watching the Oscars as a kid,
- 10:51Speaker 2: I'd be like, where do I see a short? Where
- 10:53Speaker 2: do I see a documentary?
- 10:54Speaker 3: I know.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Where did anybody see these?
- 10:56Speaker 4: Right.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Now we all see them. And now I'm like, this
- 10:59Speaker 2: didn't need to be three episodes, okay? Stop milking this out.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I don't need to see this drone shot again. I
- 11:06Speaker 2: always was joking that it was always like the bear
- 11:08Speaker 2: seat and then the person comes in.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Oh, God, the bear seat.
- 11:12Speaker 2: So are we doing this now?
- 11:13Speaker 3: Oh, my God. Checking their mic. Yeah, okay, we're stopping.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Stop it right. So I started watching this one yesterday
- 11:21Speaker 2: that's on HBO Max called Benjamin Kyle. And it's about
- 11:26Speaker 2: this guy. Who was found behind and naked. He was
- 11:32Speaker 2: like naked and they said beat up behind like a
- 11:36Speaker 2: Burger King place or something. And he has no memory,
- 11:40Speaker 2: complete no memory of anybody from the last 20 years.
- 11:46Speaker 2: And so this young kid starts documenting it. Then this
- 11:50Speaker 2: other woman gets involved. And it's like three parts. And,
- 11:53Speaker 2: you know, I saw a couple TikToks on it where
- 11:55Speaker 2: I'm like, right away, I'm like, okay, I already kind
- 11:58Speaker 2: of know the ending. So let me just stop because
- 11:59Speaker 2: I want to enjoy it.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Sure.
- 12:01Speaker 2: And I'm just like, I think I will probably like
- 12:05Speaker 2: this fast forward, get to it. But then I'm like
- 12:08Speaker 2: reading the comments and people are like, I can't believe
- 12:10Speaker 2: it ended that way. So I don't know.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 12:13Speaker 2: But it's like but I but what's interesting is that
- 12:16Speaker 2: these things go on for like 10 years. And I
- 12:18Speaker 2: was always wondering, like, who is funding the 10 year
- 12:22Speaker 2: long documentary? No, but I'm really asking.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Yeah. Do you know the answer? Not not quite, to
- 12:28Speaker 3: be honest, because Alex really took this on, took on
- 12:30Speaker 3: my documentary sort of just being like, well, if we
- 12:33Speaker 3: make money on the back end, great.
- 12:35Speaker 2: But I mean, I guess that's a lot of it.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Or you make money off the last one, almost like
- 12:38Speaker 2: flipping a house.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:39Speaker 2: You got to take the money from the.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Last one to like fix this one.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:42Speaker 3: I mean, also with us, I think Alex got really
- 12:45Speaker 3: invested just in the story and. We really were not
- 12:49Speaker 3: sure like where it was going to go. And, you know,
- 12:52Speaker 3: it's kind of like this weird meta thing where I
- 12:54Speaker 3: was like, I've always been a fan of true crime.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Now I'm kind of like I had a joke where
- 12:58Speaker 3: I was like, as a white woman, you just get
- 12:59Speaker 3: to be in one. Like, I just like I'm just
- 13:02Speaker 3: suddenly in one. And then a lot of the show
- 13:04Speaker 3: is talking about like the genre of true crime and
- 13:07Speaker 3: like what it feels. feels like and like how it's exploitive,
- 13:11Speaker 3: but also it can also help a lot of people.
- 13:14Speaker 2: And I mean, I always, I think that the joke
- 13:17Speaker 2: of white women being so obsessed with it as I
- 13:21Speaker 2: have been, hence why I have the show Juicy Crimes
- 13:23Speaker 2: and I always talk about what's juicy is that I
- 13:26Speaker 2: feel like, like the minute, the time I really like would,
- 13:31Speaker 2: I mean, I always was into it, but I think
- 13:34Speaker 2: the reason women are into it, cause it's like, the
- 13:37Speaker 2: stories of like, this could have, this could happen to me.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Yes.
- 13:41Speaker 2: So it's like, my cute husband could turn out to
- 13:44Speaker 2: be a family annihilator or cheating, or I could be
- 13:47Speaker 2: the one that could go off cheating with some guy
- 13:50Speaker 2: who's a weirdo. And then he kills my husband. And
- 13:52Speaker 2: now I'm on trial for it. And I really didn't
- 13:55Speaker 2: know whatever the case, like it's those kinds of things
- 13:58Speaker 2: where you're like, we you know we can be victims
- 14:02Speaker 2: of this like.
- 14:03Speaker 6: Yes so i think that's why we're so tangible yeah
- 14:06Speaker 6: fascinating and also just our ability to like find things
- 14:10Speaker 6: whether you're looking up a boyfriend or whatever we just
- 14:12Speaker 6: have a desire to do that where guys are like
- 14:15Speaker 6: oh okay i guess i guess we'll never know always
- 14:18Speaker 6: digging yeah like i guess we're like little gophers.
- 14:20Speaker 3: In the dirt just like scratching away.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Yeah Well, this is amazing.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 14:25Speaker 2: That this is happening in June.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Yes, it's June. I can say the dates. I'm performing
- 14:30Speaker 3: it June 4th in Philadelphia, June 11th in Washington, D.C.,
- 14:34Speaker 3: June 13th in Boston, 16th in New York at Joe's Pub,
- 14:39Speaker 3: which is the lovely flyer.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:41Speaker 3: And then the 25th in Los Angeles at Dynasty Typewriter.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Those are our June dates.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Awesome. June 25th.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Yeah, come.
- 14:49Speaker 5: In L.A., yeah.
- 14:49Speaker 2: You have to come. Yeah, I would love to come.
- 14:52Speaker 5: People, you don't need me to tell you, running a
- 14:54Speaker 5: business uses a lot of energy and those costs keep
- 14:57Speaker 5: getting bigger. Three words, SEAI business supports. And I know
- 15:03Speaker 5: what you're thinking. Sure, that'll take ages. Three more words,

- 15:22Speaker 7: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 15:25Speaker 7: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 15:28Speaker 7: have faced tremendous setbacks, and yet somehow have found a
- 15:32Speaker 7: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 15:38Speaker 2: I'm heading to the Emmys, and I have police complaints
- 15:41Speaker 2: filed against me.
- 15:41Speaker 3: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 15:44Speaker 3: what would you do if it was given back?
- 15:46Speaker 7: Where did that need come from, where you thought that
- 15:49Speaker 7: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 15:51Speaker 2: He said, I have a work dad.
- 15:53Speaker 3: I need a home dad. What happens next?
- 15:55Speaker 2: When I came in, he started crying.
- 15:56Speaker 7: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 16:01Speaker 7: those hard moments that they go through. It's about what
- 16:04Speaker 7: happens next.
- 16:05Speaker 3: I decided to risk it all.
- 16:06Speaker 2: I realized how valuable every day was. You're worth the work.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Listen, Dar, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 16:11Speaker 2: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 16:13Speaker 7: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 16:17Speaker 7: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 16:28Speaker 2: So, okay. So now let's get into some other things. Okay.
- 16:31Speaker 2: So the, when I met you, it was leading towards
- 16:35Speaker 2: this big wedding.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Now what happened to the husband?
- 16:40Speaker 3: What happened to the marriage?
- 16:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:42Speaker 3: I wrote a book about my wedding planning process called Ridiculous,
- 16:45Speaker 3: which was then turned into a show for Netflix called
- 16:48Speaker 3: The Wedding Coach.
- 16:49Speaker 2: And what was that like?
- 16:51Speaker 3: That was so fun. I was basically like going in.
- 16:53Speaker 3: It was sort of like Queer Eye, but for weddings,
- 16:55Speaker 3: I was like going in and helping people who were
- 16:56Speaker 3: struggling during their wedding. And not just with like little
- 16:59Speaker 3: stuff like the cake or what. It was more like, oh,
- 17:01Speaker 3: this person's like not getting along with their mother-in-law. Like
- 17:04Speaker 3: someone needs to intervene and.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Stuff like that. In any of those cases, which was
- 17:07Speaker 2: cast and stuff, but real people.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Yeah, real people.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Were you like, these people should not get married? Not really.
- 17:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:14Speaker 3: There was one couple that didn't. And I did feel
- 17:16Speaker 3: like that was for the best. Yeah. Yeah. Like it
- 17:19Speaker 3: actually ended up being it ended up being kind of
- 17:22Speaker 3: like a relief because I felt like not that I
- 17:24Speaker 3: was like, don't they shouldn't get married. It was more
- 17:26Speaker 3: just like, I don't know. I think they're good as
- 17:29Speaker 3: a couple, but I don't know if they're ready for
- 17:30Speaker 3: like that next.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:32Speaker 2: And so what happened with you? Yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 3: And then we we separated during the pandemic and. And
- 17:41Speaker 3: I was living in L.A. and I kind of fled
- 17:43Speaker 3: to New York on my own. This was when like
- 17:46Speaker 3: you couldn't hang out with anybody. It was freezing cold.
- 17:48Speaker 3: This was like in November. And so I was kind
- 17:51Speaker 3: of just like in New York, kind of just chilling.
- 17:55Speaker 3: And I did not think like I'm ever going to
- 17:58Speaker 3: like get married again or anything. But I ended up
- 18:01Speaker 3: basically going on one date.
- 18:03Speaker 2: While you were separated.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Yeah. And that is now my husband.
- 18:06Speaker 2: But did you think while you're separated that there was
- 18:09Speaker 2: a chance you'd get back together or you got separated
- 18:11Speaker 2: and you're like, weirdly, I don't miss this person.
- 18:15Speaker 3: I thought there was a small chance, but I kind
- 18:20Speaker 3: of knew I just needed to like I the cycle
- 18:25Speaker 3: that we were in of fighting, but sticking it out, fighting,
- 18:29Speaker 3: sticking it out. I was like, there is part of
- 18:31Speaker 3: me that misses him. It wasn't like as simple as
- 18:34Speaker 3: just like, bye. Like I definitely was like, you know,
- 18:36Speaker 3: he was like my family, especially during the pandemic, we're
- 18:39Speaker 3: spending every second together. So yeah, I think it was
- 18:41Speaker 3: like a big adjustment just to like my lifestyle, like
- 18:45Speaker 3: just being alone in a space was strange. And then, yeah,
- 18:51Speaker 3: but then I met this guy and in no world
- 18:55Speaker 3: did I ever think that he would be my boyfriend,
- 18:58Speaker 3: let alone like even we'd go on more than one date.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Like I had the lowest expectations. Also, I was a
- 19:04Speaker 3: freak on our first date. I felt so weird. I
- 19:06Speaker 3: felt so guilty. I was like, I shouldn't be doing this. And, um, yeah.
- 19:11Speaker 3: And then we kind of just kept seeing each other.
- 19:13Speaker 3: And then I was like, I don't really want to
- 19:15Speaker 3: date anyone else. And then we ended up getting married.
- 19:18Speaker 2: So then how did you tell?
- 19:19Speaker 3: We got married just for the listeners. We got married
- 19:23Speaker 3: Much later. It wasn't like I just stepped into another
- 19:26Speaker 3: marriage right away.
- 19:27Speaker 2: So how did you tell your husband that you're separated
- 19:30Speaker 2: from like, actually, I want to file and I hope
- 19:34Speaker 2: this can be, you know, okay.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I think, well, there was one conversation where he was,
- 19:41Speaker 3: I remember being like, I'm not coming back to LA.
- 19:45Speaker 3: I'm going to stay in New York for a while.
- 19:46Speaker 3: And that ended with him hanging up on me. And
- 19:49Speaker 3: then we had another conversation. I remember this all I
- 19:51Speaker 3: was like standing on a street corner in Soho I
- 19:53Speaker 3: remember where I was talking to him about this but
- 19:56Speaker 3: I was like aren't you so much happier like I
- 19:57Speaker 3: remember saying that I was like I feel I feel
- 20:01Speaker 3: good I definitely like miss aspects of us but like
- 20:04Speaker 3: don't you feel better like doesn't it feel like a
- 20:09Speaker 3: little bit of like toxicity has been taken away. And
- 20:13Speaker 3: he did not disagree. And I was like, okay, that
- 20:17Speaker 3: feels like a good first step into us realizing that
- 20:20Speaker 3: maybe this should not continue.
- 20:22Speaker 2: So how many years from actually getting married to separating
- 20:26Speaker 2: was it?
- 20:27Speaker 3: We were together for 10 years and we were married
- 20:28Speaker 3: for four.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Oh, that's a long time.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Yeah, we were together a long time. Like all of
- 20:33Speaker 3: my 30s.
- 20:33Speaker 2: So like 10 total or 14?
- 20:35Speaker 3: Oh, sorry, 10 total. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Um, and then, yeah,
- 20:41Speaker 3: I mean.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I think that's also interesting too, when someone, when you've
- 20:43Speaker 2: been together for like, you know, five, six years and
- 20:47Speaker 2: you're at that age and it's just the next step,
- 20:51Speaker 2: you dated for two, you lived for two, everybody's getting married.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Everyone's like, are we going to do it? And he's like,
- 20:57Speaker 2: let me just find the ring. And then, and then
- 20:59Speaker 2: you're like, well, and then you, then it's all over with.
- 21:05Speaker 2: And you're kind of like, Hmm. Sometimes I, that's why
- 21:08Speaker 2: I think sometimes like if a guy or girl meets
- 21:11Speaker 2: somebody that you want to meet, like you need to
- 21:13Speaker 2: like lock it down quick. I don't know. It seems
- 21:16Speaker 2: like something like happens in the long thing. It's just
- 21:19Speaker 2: like loses its luster.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:22Speaker 2: No, it's better. Listen, you know what? It is what
- 21:26Speaker 2: it is. If marriage is something you want or a
- 21:28Speaker 2: kid or whatever, whatever works for you. There's no formula
- 21:31Speaker 2: that works. Every couple is different. Totally.
- 21:34Speaker 3: But I do feel like I knew I wanted. Well,
- 21:38Speaker 3: I wasn't 100 percent sure that I wanted kids, but
- 21:40Speaker 3: I knew if I want kids, I don't think that
- 21:45Speaker 3: my ex and I are going to have kids together.
- 21:47Speaker 3: So I think I also felt a pressure to Go
- 21:52Speaker 3: at that point, because I was like, fertility is playing
- 21:55Speaker 3: a part in this. And like, I, I have to like,
- 21:58Speaker 3: make a choice at some point. Like, am I staying
- 22:00Speaker 3: in this or am I?
- 22:01Speaker 5: Right.
- 22:01Speaker 2: You don't want to have a child with someone and
- 22:02Speaker 2: then then have to do that.
- 22:04Speaker 5: Right.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Do all that. Let's thank God for that. And with
- 22:07Speaker 2: your new husband, is he in the business?
- 22:10Speaker 3: He's not. No, he's in cybersecurity.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Oh, that's good.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Comes from an intelligence background.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Okay.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Speaks Arabic, lived in Saudi Arabia for a couple of years.
- 22:19Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 22:19Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Really like very, very different line of work.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Cool.
- 22:24Speaker 2: And then you guys are trying.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Yeah. So we froze embryo. Well, it's really interesting because
- 22:28Speaker 3: when you meet someone in your late 30s and you
- 22:32Speaker 3: maybe even slightly want children. I was like, we got
- 22:35Speaker 3: to get on this.
- 22:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:36Speaker 3: So pretty soon into us being together, I was like, yeah,
- 22:40Speaker 3: like we're not using condom. I was like, I mean,
- 22:42Speaker 3: let's just take our shot here. Then I didn't get pregnant. Okay.
- 22:46Speaker 3: And then we launched into just like years of insane
- 22:50Speaker 3: IVF and Finally froze some embryos, but not too many.
- 22:54Speaker 3: So we did another round. And then now we've gotten
- 22:57Speaker 3: to the stage where we have a surrogate. We actually
- 23:00Speaker 3: just closed legal on that yesterday. And now it's in
- 23:06Speaker 3: the zone where like whenever her cycle syncs up, we're
- 23:09Speaker 3: going to do an embryo transfer. But it was such
- 23:11Speaker 3: a long road to get here because we had several
- 23:14Speaker 3: surrogates fall through for various reasons. And I never knew
- 23:18Speaker 3: how hard it was to find a surrogate. Maybe other
- 23:21Speaker 3: people haven't had this experience, but for me, really like.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Hard through the agency or wanting one that you feel
- 23:27Speaker 2: comfortable with?
- 23:27Speaker 3: It was both. Well, first we were with like an
- 23:30Speaker 3: agency that I definitely did not trust, even though they
- 23:32Speaker 3: had someone for us. I was like, various reasons. I
- 23:36Speaker 3: was like, I don't think we should be giving these
- 23:37Speaker 3: people our money. And so we backed out of that
- 23:40Speaker 3: on our own. And then with the new agency who
- 23:43Speaker 3: I love, they had paired us with someone, um, And unfortunately, medically,
- 23:49Speaker 3: she was not viable. Now it took like seven months
- 23:51Speaker 3: to learn that because everything was tracking in the right direction.
- 23:54Speaker 3: And then at the last minute- So she had never
- 23:56Speaker 3: done it before? Never done it before, which is also
- 23:58Speaker 3: why it took so long because she had to make
- 24:01Speaker 3: her contract from scratch. Whereas now our surrogate has been
- 24:04Speaker 3: a surrogate before. So all of her legal was pretty
- 24:06Speaker 3: much locked down. She's been through this. She knows what
- 24:08Speaker 3: her terms are. And so it was just so much
- 24:11Speaker 3: faster and yeah, I feel so grateful that we found
- 24:15Speaker 3: her because quite frankly, like we kind of got her
- 24:17Speaker 3: off market. Meaning, I mean, because what happens is they're
- 24:21Speaker 3: so in high demand and they, whatever, they're with the agency,
- 24:24Speaker 3: they meet all these couples, they pick their favorite. In
- 24:26Speaker 3: this case, she was only introduced to us because our agent,
- 24:31Speaker 3: I think, was feeling a certain way about the fact
- 24:33Speaker 3: that the other girl, it didn't work out. I think
- 24:35Speaker 3: they felt I mean, did.
- 24:36Speaker 2: You feel like every Lifetime movie that you've ever seen, like,
- 24:40Speaker 2: running through your head?
- 24:41Speaker 3: Oh, 100%. 100%. Also, I never identified with, like, all
- 24:43Speaker 3: the materials on Instagram and stuff that I do find
- 24:46Speaker 3: helpful and to a degree they feel like community, but
- 24:49Speaker 3: I never identified as, like, part of the infertility community. Like...
- 24:55Speaker 3: that label is not, I wasn't like on message boards
- 24:59Speaker 3: and like really talking to a lot of people. I'm
- 25:01Speaker 3: on like one WhatsApp group.
- 25:02Speaker 2: It's very helpful.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Um, but I wasn't like really immersed in like the
- 25:07Speaker 3: identity of that. And so, um, I think purely out
- 25:11Speaker 3: of denial. I mean, I was like, I'm not like that.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Even though looking back, I'm like, yeah, you were, you
- 25:17Speaker 3: were like, like you were like, you were so much
- 25:20Speaker 3: more like sad and in it than you ever allowed
- 25:24Speaker 3: yourself to think you were. Cause I was just like, oh,
- 25:26Speaker 3: I'm just keep going, you know, like whatever. I won
- 25:29Speaker 3: an Emmy.
- 25:29Speaker 2: I'm like, we're fine. We're fine.
- 25:31Speaker 3: And it's like, this was kind of simmering underneath all
- 25:33Speaker 3: of it. This like struggle to have a kid.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Got it.
- 25:35Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, I wish you all the luck in the
- 25:39Speaker 2: world and happy motherhood. Okay. I wanted to, do you
- 25:43Speaker 2: know that the 2026 Sports Illustrated swim show happened.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Yes okay i learned this from you i don't.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Know it was all over my instagram maybe because the
- 25:52Speaker 2: people i follow and so they had a they're having
- 25:56Speaker 2: a fashion show of all these celebrities in the bikinis
- 26:00Speaker 2: for sports illustrated but they they didn't allow them to
- 26:05Speaker 2: wear shoes wait why I think just to be more
- 26:10Speaker 2: like natural, like if you were about to jump in
- 26:12Speaker 2: the pool, you wouldn't have a pair of heels on.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Okay.
- 26:15Speaker 2: But I'm like, why? Why not? Like everyone's body, everybody
- 26:18Speaker 2: would have had a better walk if they had a
- 26:20Speaker 2: pair of heels on. Like some of the people, because
- 26:22Speaker 2: they're not models. So like the walks were kind of
- 26:25Speaker 2: strange for some of them. They all looked great. It
- 26:29Speaker 2: was a variety of bodies and accomplishments and everything like that.
- 26:34Speaker 2: But now this is going to be on Hulu.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Oh, it is?
- 26:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Oh, is it coming out soon?
- 26:40Speaker 2: Like, I don't know, June 9th. I'm not watching.
- 26:42Speaker 3: Oh, it's coming out soon.
- 26:43Speaker 2: I feel like I saw the whole thing on Instagram.
- 26:44Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know.
- 26:45Speaker 3: Wait, I want to know, though, like, what are they?
- 26:47Speaker 3: They're just modeling bikinis?
- 26:50Speaker 7: Yes.
- 26:50Speaker 2: I mean, it's from like Lizzo to like Bethany Frankel. Yeah, yeah. And,
- 26:55Speaker 2: you know, everyone's cheering because.
- 26:56Speaker 3: It's more like a celebration.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I guess like, wow, you got out there at a beach.
- 27:00Speaker 2: But there's something I don't know. Like, it's like. There's
- 27:03Speaker 2: something weird about it, too. Like, I'm not saying if
- 27:06Speaker 2: my agent said, do you want to do this next year?
- 27:08Speaker 2: I'd be like, yes. I'd probably have the most stressful
- 27:10Speaker 2: year of my life. Working out, getting skin tightening, doing
- 27:15Speaker 2: whatever it took and still turning around and knowing that
- 27:18Speaker 2: the comments would be awful.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. I mean, being a woman is a prison.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Would I say? I'm like, I don't know. Maybe I
- 27:24Speaker 2: wouldn't say yet. Like maybe I'm like the bodies were
- 27:26Speaker 2: very good. Like, you know, like I said, like, you know,
- 27:30Speaker 2: and then of course there's Alex Earl who really is 22.
- 27:33Speaker 2: And super thin with some nice new tits.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:37Speaker 2: And like, yeah, that was the best body.
- 27:39Speaker 3: So wait, I'm just still trying to understand what is filling,
- 27:42Speaker 3: is it a documentary about the show? No, no. It's
- 27:45Speaker 3: just the runway is coming out? Yes. So it's what,
- 27:48Speaker 3: like 10 minutes long? Like how long could that be?
- 27:51Speaker 2: I don't know. Then they had like a, you know,
- 27:53Speaker 2: they had like Dancing with the Stars people dance and
- 27:55Speaker 2: they had like some guys sing. It was kind of
- 27:56Speaker 2: like a Victoria's Secret thing. Fashion show when they used
- 27:59Speaker 2: to have those, which I never watched those either.
- 28:01Speaker 3: But then I feel like they did some like behind
- 28:02Speaker 3: the scenes stuff too.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 28:04Speaker 3: A little bit with Victoria's Secret. But I never watched
- 28:06Speaker 3: those either.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 28:08Speaker 3: I just don't care. There's a nail salon. Have you
- 28:11Speaker 3: ever gone to Butter Nails? No. Oh, it's on Sunset.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Do they play it? No, they play fashion shows. No,
- 28:17Speaker 3: like actual fashion shows from all different designers. It's the
- 28:20Speaker 3: only thing on their TV. And from all different eras.
- 28:22Speaker 3: And it's like, I mean, it truly, I like zone out.
- 28:26Speaker 2: It's so fun to watch.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. But then with this, I'm like, well,
- 28:29Speaker 3: if it's not about the clothes, then I'm kind of
- 28:32Speaker 3: not that. I kind of just like want to see clothes.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 28:36Speaker 3: No disrespect to bikinis. It was just kind of weird.
- 28:38Speaker 2: I like fashion. Because the bathing suits are so incredibly skimpy.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Like nobody's wearing a sarong. No one has like a.
- 28:46Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 28:47Speaker 2: So it's just like you're really seeing everyone's body. And
- 28:49Speaker 2: like the lighting was good.
- 28:51Speaker 6: Sure, sure.
- 28:52Speaker 2: And the makeup was good on their bodies. And all
- 28:54Speaker 2: the bodies were good. It just kind of was like,
- 28:58Speaker 2: I don't know if I'm the only one feeling this way.
- 29:01Speaker 3: No, you're definitely not.
- 29:02Speaker 2: It was just kind of strange. And then not having heels,
- 29:06Speaker 2: then people were like, why is she walking with her
- 29:08Speaker 2: stomach forward? And it's like, well, it's weird to walk.
- 29:11Speaker 2: First of all, you're not a professional model and now
- 29:13Speaker 2: you can't wear heels.
- 29:15Speaker 3: I think it's tough because Sports Illustrated is like always
- 29:18Speaker 3: a magazine that like, the swimsuit issue that was like
- 29:21Speaker 3: that was the only.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Time that was the only time i would look at
- 29:24Speaker 2: it my dad got the magazine yes and only when
- 29:27Speaker 2: the june thing came and i'd come out and i'd
- 29:29Speaker 2: really look at it and i'd really look what bathing
- 29:32Speaker 2: suit is this i would like to me as a
- 29:34Speaker 2: little girl i'd like to buy even though the girl
- 29:36Speaker 2: like only had the bottoms on me holding her tits
- 29:38Speaker 2: but i was just like oh I just like love
- 29:41Speaker 2: looking at this you know and then now it's nowadays
- 29:45Speaker 2: what it is because it's a different world and the
- 29:47Speaker 2: only people that are going to sell the magazines are
- 29:48Speaker 2: the ones that have the most you know, influence. Like,
- 29:52Speaker 2: so I get it.
- 29:52Speaker 3: So for them, it's just like a publicity stunt.
- 29:55Speaker 5: Totally.
- 29:56Speaker 2: And I just think like, who can we get that like,
- 29:58Speaker 2: you know, is a big thing. But I just was like, God,
- 30:01Speaker 2: this is just like weird.
- 30:02Speaker 3: It's always weird when like this thing that, um, so
- 30:06Speaker 3: historically celebrated, like, like sexualizing women. Um, and I'm not
- 30:15Speaker 3: saying it's not empowering and all the things I'm taking
- 30:18Speaker 3: into account all the angles. But it is interesting when
- 30:21Speaker 3: that's sort of spun into this like feminist, like, you know,
- 30:27Speaker 3: it's just, it's like, oh, you're the same person who
- 30:30Speaker 3: also like posed women in this very alluring way that
- 30:35Speaker 3: like men would jerk off to. Like, I'm not trying
- 30:37Speaker 3: to be crass, but like, so I think there's a
- 30:39Speaker 3: little bit of a cognitive dissonance around that. It would
- 30:43Speaker 3: be different if it was like, I don't know, like some,
- 30:47Speaker 3: like female owned business that had a website and they
- 30:50Speaker 3: were sponsoring this event or something. You'd be like, Oh,
- 30:52Speaker 3: interesting that tracks. But I think when it's sports illustrated,
- 30:55Speaker 3: there's always this feeling of like, they're clearly trying to
- 30:57Speaker 3: like reclaim something or like spin it in a way that,
- 31:03Speaker 3: speaks to, like, the modern audience. And it's just tough.
- 31:06Speaker 2: I just think in the end, like, as a woman,
- 31:08Speaker 2: you just can't fucking win.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Oh, for sure.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Because before, if you were in a Miss America contest,
- 31:13Speaker 2: it's like, you're an idiot. Even though it was for
- 31:16Speaker 2: scholarships and stuff, and for some women, that might be
- 31:18Speaker 2: the only way they could have gone to college.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Right.
- 31:19Speaker 2: But you're wearing a, you know, a bathing suit, and
- 31:23Speaker 2: you're going to be judged on it.
- 31:24Speaker 3: Yep.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Then it was like, okay, now.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Now, we don't want any good bodies on the runway.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Now we want people that are not thin at all,
- 31:34Speaker 2: and we're just going to celebrate that. Then they're like, okay, well,
- 31:37Speaker 2: a lot of those people now are thinner because there's
- 31:40Speaker 2: weight loss drugs and things that you can do. So
- 31:45Speaker 2: now they're like, how is skinny back in? And what
- 31:47Speaker 2: it is, but then we're like cheering these people on,
- 31:52Speaker 2: but they're like basically naked. And then we're like mean
- 31:55Speaker 2: to the only fans people. And it's like, well, they're
- 31:58Speaker 2: naked too. Like why? Just because women just can't win.
- 32:01Speaker 3: Yeah. We can't win.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Right. But also it's like, if you're, if your business
- 32:04Speaker 2: is to raise your profile, would you have turned it down? No,
- 32:09Speaker 2: you have to do it because you'll gain something. a
- 32:11Speaker 2: million more followers, which is what you need. So now
- 32:14Speaker 2: go wax your entire crotch.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Right.
- 32:17Speaker 2: And, you know.
- 32:18Speaker 3: Walk barefoot.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Get some Juergen self-tanner.
- 32:20Speaker 3: Yeah, you need to get that Juergen.
- 32:22Speaker 2: And practice your walk back and then have enough people
- 32:24Speaker 2: in the audience that are like, woo! And then like
- 32:27Speaker 2: high five the other person and act like your best
- 32:29Speaker 2: friends when you like don't even know what they do
- 32:32Speaker 2: for a living. Yeah. It was a lot. Before I
- 32:35Speaker 2: get into this, I just want to say I heard
- 32:38Speaker 2: a crazy rumor about Bethany Frankel's ex, Jason Hoppy, who
- 32:42Speaker 2: is the father of their daughter. I don't know this
- 32:45Speaker 2: is true because we all know so many things are
- 32:48Speaker 2: fake on the internet.
- 32:48Speaker 6: Sure, of course.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Grain of salt, grain of salt.
- 32:52Speaker 2: But allegedly, he is either married to or has a
- 32:57Speaker 2: child or having a child with a woman who was
- 33:02Speaker 2: the nanny for Sarah Jessica Parker. Now, if you watched
- 33:07Speaker 2: and just like that, Did you ever watch it just
- 33:10Speaker 2: like that?
- 33:11Speaker 3: I really tried.
- 33:12Speaker 2: I tried.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Did you finish all of it?
- 33:15Speaker 2: I loved it. Oh, I love that you loved it.
- 33:16Speaker 2: And I feel part of my credit. No, I loved
- 33:18Speaker 2: hating it.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Oh, okay. You loved hating it.
- 33:20Speaker 2: And I think I caused them to say, fuck you, Heather.
- 33:23Speaker 2: We're taking it from you. And I'll never forgive myself.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Because I would not miss an episode.
- 33:29Speaker 6: Really?
- 33:29Speaker 2: Because I was so obsessed with, like, how bad it was.
- 33:34Speaker 6: Oh, my God. It was so bad.
- 33:35Speaker 2: But it brought me so much joy at the same time.
- 33:38Speaker 3: Yeah, sure.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Anyway, I'll never forgive myself for that. One of my
- 33:42Speaker 2: biggest regrets in life. Anyway, but in it, she's talking
- 33:48Speaker 2: to somebody, Sarah J. Parker is, and they say, are
- 33:51Speaker 2: you going to go to the Hamptons? Are you going
- 33:53Speaker 2: to rent a Hamptons house? And she's like, no. And
- 33:56Speaker 2: then the other person goes, oh, because Bethany Frankel's there.
- 33:59Speaker 5: And so then.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Then shortly after, Bethany went on Watch Robbins Live and
- 34:07Speaker 2: she had like a very weird episode with Andy. And
- 34:11Speaker 2: it seemed like, you know, and then after that is
- 34:15Speaker 2: when Bethany went after Bravo and was like, I'm going
- 34:18Speaker 2: to do the reality reckoning and we're going to sue
- 34:21Speaker 2: the NBC and Bravo. And these women are... And again...
- 34:27Speaker 2: Much like the plight of a comedian who tries to
- 34:30Speaker 2: prove a case that somebody took their one joke. Nobody cares.
- 34:34Speaker 2: Nobody cares that a reality star might have gotten a
- 34:38Speaker 2: little fucked over in the end. Nobody cares. It's not
- 34:42Speaker 2: like you were an orphan. It's not like you were trafficked.
- 34:46Speaker 2: You know.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Right.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Not in the real sense of traffic.
- 34:48Speaker 7: Yes.
- 34:48Speaker 2: A little bit traffic. Yeah. But so anyway, that so
- 34:53Speaker 2: now people are like, wait a minute. Was that weird
- 34:59Speaker 2: joke written into the show because Sarah Jessica Parker does
- 35:05Speaker 2: really think she's a biatch?
- 35:07Speaker 3: It must.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Because her nanny who she keeps in touch with is
- 35:09Speaker 2: with Jason Hoppy.
- 35:11Speaker 3: It must be. Because why would you throw shade in
- 35:13Speaker 3: a scripted show that you could edit jokes out of
- 35:17Speaker 3: or replace jokes. Like it's, you know what I mean?
- 35:20Speaker 3: It went through so many layers of.
- 35:22Speaker 2: As you know.
- 35:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:23Speaker 3: I mean, just as a TV writer, I'm like, yeah,
- 35:25Speaker 3: I mean, there are so many opportunities to take a
- 35:28Speaker 3: joke out or replace it. And if it was still
- 35:30Speaker 3: filmed on the day, you could cut it in editing.
- 35:33Speaker 3: Like they left it in, you know what I mean? Yeah.
- 35:35Speaker 3: So I would, I would think that.
- 35:37Speaker 2: And I think that's also, now it's like, maybe that
- 35:40Speaker 2: is really what... Really got, like, Bethany and Andy. He's
- 35:45Speaker 2: best friends with her. Right. I forgot about that.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:49Speaker 2: And now he will never say her name. He just
- 35:51Speaker 2: calls her the Margarita Lady.
- 35:52Speaker 5: Really?
- 35:53Speaker 2: If he talks about anything on his radio show, he
- 35:55Speaker 2: will not say her name.
- 35:57Speaker 3: Really?
- 35:58Speaker 2: But I don't know if her ex Jason Hoppy, if
- 36:02Speaker 2: he really had a child with this person. Because I
- 36:04Speaker 2: saw it on TikTok, and I don't know if it's true.
- 36:07Speaker 2: But if it is, I think that is really juicy.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Wow.
- 36:12Speaker 2: And I do think Jason Hoffey was a horrible person
- 36:15Speaker 2: to be in a divorce with, but who knows?
- 36:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I heard an interview with her on, was it
- 36:21Speaker 3: Call Her Daddy? Yeah. I don't know what I heard,
- 36:24Speaker 3: but I remember, like, yeah, it sounded like that divorce
- 36:26Speaker 3: was beautiful, really beautiful.
- 36:27Speaker 2: No, I thought it seemed like it was just hell.
- 36:31Speaker 2: And then she started a whole podcast where she was
- 36:33Speaker 2: telling the whole story, and then she had to stop it. Oh, really?
- 36:36Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh, I didn't know that.
- 36:38Speaker 2: She said, oh, I don't know if she ever gave
- 36:40Speaker 2: her reason, but... You know, but, you know, it was
- 36:44Speaker 2: just like her just telling the whole awful story of it.
- 36:48Speaker 2: But which now would lead, because if you're the new
- 36:52Speaker 2: girlfriend wife, you're going to hear a whole different side
- 36:56Speaker 2: from your new boyfriend. And then you're still friends with,
- 37:00Speaker 2: you know, you were such a great nanny, even though
- 37:02Speaker 2: her kids are grown. You're kept in touch with your boss,
- 37:05Speaker 2: who's Sarah Jessica Parker. And so she knows. They're pretty juicy.
- 37:09Speaker 3: That is juicy.
- 37:10Speaker 2: And then also on Hulu is It's Not a Job,
- 37:13Speaker 2: It's a Lifestyle, Million Dollar Nannies on June 17th.
- 37:16Speaker 3: My God, I can't wait.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Immediately I was like, what really rich person is going
- 37:21Speaker 2: to have their kids all like have their nanny filming
- 37:24Speaker 2: a reality show?
- 37:25Speaker 3: That's the only thing I don't understand is like, how
- 37:27Speaker 3: did this show come together?
- 37:28Speaker 2: I think it's more about the nannies running the nanny company.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Oh, I see.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Like recruiting what kind of people.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Sure. Like keeping more about the agency.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Probably some like fake fights or something.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 37:42Speaker 2: And then just talking about these people like, well, you
- 37:45Speaker 2: know that they are flying their private jet into blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 37:49Speaker 2: But like maybe we, or maybe like two thirsty moms
- 37:52Speaker 2: are like, sure, you can film with me.
- 37:53Speaker 3: This artwork is so confusing because it, They all are
- 37:58Speaker 3: where it's almost like Handmaid's Tale, like the way they're
- 38:01Speaker 3: all wearing these like weird.
- 38:02Speaker 2: They're all wearing these pink outfits.
- 38:04Speaker 3: And then they have the matching Bjorns.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Which are supposed to be like a Louis Vuitton, but
- 38:08Speaker 2: they didn't want to use the Louis Vuitton.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Yeah, but they couldn't use it. And they're kind of
- 38:11Speaker 3: like marching in unison. It's just like a very strange. Yeah,
- 38:16Speaker 3: it begs a lot of questions. I want to watch
- 38:19Speaker 3: it because I just need to understand like what is
- 38:22Speaker 3: happening and where is it filmed? Like they're on an
- 38:25Speaker 3: island in this picture. I don't know.
- 38:27Speaker 2: I always think that's true. Interesting too. And like when
- 38:31Speaker 2: a TikToker or a nanny or something, I mean as
- 38:34Speaker 2: a chef or a nanny is like, all right, follow
- 38:39Speaker 2: me in the day of life of being a private
- 38:42Speaker 2: chef for a rich ass family in Hamptons. And then
- 38:47Speaker 2: they're like, you know, they're cutting the chops, topping this
- 38:49Speaker 2: and then like doing, and I'm like, if I was
- 38:53Speaker 2: a person paying this guy, like whatever enormous amount of money,
- 38:57Speaker 2: And I go to, like, Doomstroll, and I'm like... I know.
- 39:00Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Not Doomstroll. Doomscroll. Doomscroll, yeah.
- 39:04Speaker 3: And then I'm like, that kitchen looks like mine.
- 39:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:07Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. The layers of permission to do.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Like, why would you... Like, I'd be like, no.
- 39:15Speaker 3: Absolutely not. And also, like, are the kids in it?
- 39:18Speaker 2: Like, that also feels weird.
- 39:20Speaker 7: Yeah, like.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Somebody's.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Kid is just like... having their life filmed.
- 39:26Speaker 5: Right.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Or if the kid is having like a full breakdown now, that's,
- 39:30Speaker 2: all the.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Kids life forever yeah exactly exactly yeah there's a lot
- 39:34Speaker 3: of i have a lot of questions i i'm yeah
- 39:38Speaker 3: i want to like start watching some have you seen
- 39:39Speaker 3: any press for it no i haven't either i'm.
- 39:42Speaker 2: No but it's the same a producer that does the
- 39:45Speaker 2: mormon wives okay Really curious. I'm speaking of like awful girls.
- 39:51Speaker 2: So Mackenzie. Sharilla.
- 39:54Speaker 3: Yes.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Who is the girl from crash.
- 39:56Speaker 3: Yes.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Um, you know, it's all people hate her so much,
- 40:01Speaker 2: but she's getting all this publicity. She has girlfriend, she
- 40:07Speaker 2: has hickeys, she has boyfriends. I don't know what. Okay. Um,
- 40:10Speaker 2: there's more, so much more stuff that was not in
- 40:13Speaker 2: the documentary.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:15Speaker 2: That, really makes the parents look even worse the dad
- 40:19Speaker 2: has lost his job or has been put on leave
- 40:22Speaker 2: from his teaching at like a catholic high school i
- 40:26Speaker 2: think because he admits to like smoking weed all the
- 40:28Speaker 2: time i don't know why they did that but and
- 40:32Speaker 2: but with her um today they're this the sister of
- 40:38Speaker 2: the boyfriend that died she is trying to pass some
- 40:42Speaker 2: law called um dom's law for dominic that she couldn't
- 40:48Speaker 2: make money off any social media. Because right now there's
- 40:51Speaker 2: the law that if you were convicted of any kind
- 40:54Speaker 2: of murder, you can't make money off of a book
- 40:56Speaker 2: or a movie. Right. But they never thought about, like,
- 41:03Speaker 2: you know, money off of... I don't know how she'd
- 41:05Speaker 2: make money off of social media while she's in prison.
- 41:07Speaker 2: But I guess they all have iPads and they all
- 41:10Speaker 2: kind of have, like, TikToks and podcasts. And I'm like,
- 41:13Speaker 2: is this... I'm like, what is going on in the prisons? Like,
- 41:17Speaker 2: how do they all, how can they like be emailing people?
- 41:20Speaker 2: And she's like talking on the phone with her mom, like, oh,
- 41:23Speaker 2: I'm emailing this person and that person. I guess you
- 41:25Speaker 2: just can, like, wasn't there a time where like a
- 41:29Speaker 2: letter would come and the wardens would read it before they.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Give it to you?
- 41:33Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 41:34Speaker 3: I don't, yeah. Yeah. I don't understand.
- 41:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 41:37Speaker 3: It was like, and also like, yeah, it was like,
- 41:39Speaker 3: I mean, at least the way it was portrayed in movies,
- 41:41Speaker 3: it was always like, you got a letter.
- 41:42Speaker 2: And it's like, I got a letter. Yeah.
- 41:44Speaker 3: You know, it was like a big deal. Like any
- 41:46Speaker 3: kind of correspondence was a huge deal and a huge privilege.
- 41:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 41:50Speaker 2: And I saw that they also have iPads and they
- 41:54Speaker 2: can watch porn and stuff on it. Really? Yes.
- 41:58Speaker 3: That's not regular. They don't have like, that's so interesting.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Whoa and I'm like I'm sorry if you could have
- 42:06Speaker 2: an iPad and then someone could buy you like a
- 42:09Speaker 2: Netflix subscription just like they could give you money for
- 42:11Speaker 2: like ramen.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Right then you're like I know you still are in.
- 42:14Speaker 2: A comfortable bed and I know you're still I know
- 42:16Speaker 2: you're still hearing like crazy people scream but I'm like
- 42:19Speaker 2: I mean you're watching you can watch tv.
- 42:23Speaker 3: All day yeah yeah again like I feel like the
- 42:27Speaker 3: things I know about prison are from tv and movies
- 42:30Speaker 3: but like yeah it was like That image in like
- 42:32Speaker 3: Orange is the New Black where like there's a I
- 42:34Speaker 3: think there was like a TV in the common room
- 42:36Speaker 3: and everyone gathers around and there was like a fight
- 42:38Speaker 3: about what they were going to watch.
- 42:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:40Speaker 3: Because it's one television and it's like, oh, if you.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Have your own. I mean, I'm sure every there's prisons
- 42:45Speaker 2: that are different in this and that. But like it's
- 42:48Speaker 2: very strange. But yeah, we'll see. OK, Love Island. A
- 42:54Speaker 2: show that I don't really watch.
- 42:55Speaker 3: I've never seen a single episode.
- 42:57Speaker 2: But this is all over. It's the Love Island USA.
- 43:00Speaker 2: They have all these different countries.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Yes, yes, of course.
- 43:03Speaker 2: And her name's Vasana Montgomery has been removed from the
- 43:06Speaker 2: villa after allegedly using the N-word.
- 43:09Speaker 6: Oh, boy.
- 43:11Speaker 2: So you're like, how did they not know? So it's
- 43:13Speaker 2: in her past. She didn't say it on the show.
- 43:17Speaker 3: Okay.
- 43:19Speaker 2: And what happened was she did some podcast- As everyone does.
- 43:26Speaker 2: And I guess she said it and it rolled off
- 43:28Speaker 2: the tongue. That had never aired. So that's why when
- 43:34Speaker 2: they did the research to make sure that someone hadn't
- 43:36Speaker 2: said it, they didn't find anything where she's singing along
- 43:40Speaker 2: with her friends. So whoever the person was doing it,
- 43:46Speaker 2: I guess cut it and saved it. Saved it for
- 43:49Speaker 2: a rainy day. And then saw that she was going
- 43:53Speaker 2: to be on a show and then released it. And
- 43:58Speaker 2: it's just like, I don't know. I'm not saying that
- 44:02Speaker 2: it shouldn't be, but like, my God, like it's just every, like,
- 44:06Speaker 2: it's just such a weird story that.
- 44:08Speaker 3: So now she's, she's donezo.
- 44:10Speaker 2: She's donezo and everyone knows that she said it. I
- 44:12Speaker 2: don't know if we have access to the video, but
- 44:14Speaker 2: that's what they said, that there is a video of
- 44:17Speaker 2: her doing a podcast. And, but I mean, like, When we,
- 44:23Speaker 2: I wrote White Chicks with the Wayans Brothers and- You did?
- 44:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Whoa, I didn't know that. And so when that scene
- 44:30Speaker 2: where they're driving to go shopping and they're with Sean
- 44:33Speaker 2: and Marlon as the girls and they're driving and they're
- 44:38Speaker 2: like listening to some song and then the Sean and
- 44:41Speaker 2: Marlon characters say the N word, they're like, my God,
- 44:45Speaker 2: what are you doing? We can't say it. And then
- 44:47Speaker 2: they're like, yeah, you can. If no one's listening, you know,
- 44:50Speaker 2: if no one's around and then like the scene is
- 44:53Speaker 2: them singing a song and then saying it.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Okay.
- 44:57Speaker 2: And I'm like, God, in this day and age, I
- 44:59Speaker 2: wouldn't be surprised if one of those actresses, then somehow
- 45:02Speaker 2: this comes back to fucking haunt that. Like it is
- 45:05Speaker 2: just kind of like, that's totally two different things, but
- 45:07Speaker 2: I'm just saying.
- 45:08Speaker 3: I know.
- 45:09Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 45:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:10Speaker 2: I don't know how she said it. I don't know
- 45:12Speaker 2: if she was telling a story. And in telling the story,
- 45:16Speaker 2: she retold something that happened. Like, I don't know. But
- 45:20Speaker 2: I mean, like, yeah. And then if you're going to
- 45:24Speaker 2: be a brat or something as a little kid at 15, well,
- 45:29Speaker 2: then somebody would be like, You know, I don't think
- 45:32Speaker 2: they should be allowed on the varsity football team because
- 45:36Speaker 2: on this reality show, they push their sister into a
- 45:39Speaker 2: wall or something. Like, you know, just every camera's, like,
- 45:42Speaker 2: on everything all the time.
- 45:43Speaker 3: I also wonder, though, if, like... Yeah, I mean, I
- 45:48Speaker 3: also wonder, like, if they were noticing signs of her
- 45:53Speaker 3: being problematic on the show as well and maybe it
- 45:57Speaker 3: was a perfect storm where they were like, well, this footage.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Maybe they had it in their back pocket.
- 46:03Speaker 3: I'm wondering if something else happened and this was like
- 46:06Speaker 3: the final piece that they needed. If something else were
- 46:10Speaker 3: going on. I don't know. I don't watch the show.
- 46:11Speaker 3: So I'm not sure.
- 46:12Speaker 2: I don't watch the show either. What I understand is
- 46:14Speaker 2: just a lot of hot bodies and tiny bathing suits
- 46:20Speaker 2: and just, you know, grinding, having sex with whatever.
- 46:24Speaker 3: I feel like people love the Love Island UK is
- 46:27Speaker 3: the one that everyone's like. It's it's a life changer.
- 46:30Speaker 3: Like you have to see it. Yeah. I need to
- 46:32Speaker 3: watch it. Did you watch that one?
- 46:34Speaker 2: No, I just kind of feel like, because they're, like,
- 46:36Speaker 2: so young. I don't know if I'm, like, into people
- 46:38Speaker 2: that young.
- 46:39Speaker 3: I know. I know what you mean.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Like, and, but, I mean, maybe it's entertaining. Okay, Brad
- 46:45Speaker 2: Pitt is all smiles on a date night with Ines
- 46:49Speaker 2: de Ramon after being snubbed by his son Maddox. Okay,
- 46:53Speaker 2: so the divorce... I think finally happened. I think they
- 46:57Speaker 2: finally figured out the money about the rosé. Oh, it
- 46:59Speaker 2: took that long? Oh, my God. It's been going on
- 47:01Speaker 2: for so long.
- 47:02Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't know it was still going on.
- 47:03Speaker 2: You know, they owned that rosé.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Yes, I knew that. I did not know that they
- 47:07Speaker 3: hadn't officially divorced.
- 47:09Speaker 2: You know what? I don't know if I'm totally right
- 47:11Speaker 2: on that.
- 47:11Speaker 3: Yeah, you might be right.
- 47:12Speaker 2: But as we know, there was allegedly the horrible fight
- 47:17Speaker 2: that happened on the private plane.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Yes. Yes, I remember that.
- 47:20Speaker 2: Since all of that, he has said he has a
- 47:23Speaker 2: drinking problem. He's supposedly sober. But now all the kids,
- 47:30Speaker 2: I think maybe one of the younger twin boys may
- 47:34Speaker 2: have not changed his name yet. But every other kid
- 47:37Speaker 2: in the family no longer has Pitt. It's just Jolie.
- 47:41Speaker 2: Because their last names were all Jolie Pitt. And now
- 47:44Speaker 2: it's all Jolie. The daughter, Sahara, graduated. And now she.
- 47:51Speaker 2: Let me think. She, I think they adopted together.
- 47:54Speaker 3: Yeah. That's what I remember.
- 47:56Speaker 2: I thought. I know Maddox, she adopted by herself.
- 47:59Speaker 7: Yes.
- 47:59Speaker 2: And then I want to say Pax and Sahara, they
- 48:01Speaker 2: adopted together.
- 48:02Speaker 3: I think that's right.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Then they had Shiloh.
- 48:06Speaker 7: Yep.
- 48:06Speaker 2: Then they had the twins together.
- 48:08Speaker 6: Oh, right.
- 48:08Speaker 3: It was Shiloh. Oh, Shiloh isn't one of the twins. No.
- 48:12Speaker 2: Shiloh's like.
- 48:13Speaker 3: Shiloh. Okay.
- 48:13Speaker 2: Yeah. And now the twins are 18. Oh, wow. It's
- 48:16Speaker 2: been that long? And they said like Vivian now is
- 48:19Speaker 2: Jolie as well.
- 48:20Speaker 3: Vivian Jolie. Okay.
- 48:23Speaker 2: And, you know, some people are like, oh, that's sad.
- 48:25Speaker 2: But then I'm just like, I don't know, Brad. I mean,
- 48:30Speaker 2: you're cute, but you fucking cheated on Jennifer Aniston. And remember, like,
- 48:36Speaker 2: I remember it so well. So they were a couple
- 48:40Speaker 2: and then he got Mr. and Mrs.
- 48:44Speaker 3: Smith. Yeah, that's right. That's where they met, right? Or
- 48:46Speaker 3: that's where they started spending time together.
- 48:48Speaker 2: And then she was like, oh, like, Talked to Angelina.
- 48:51Speaker 2: My husband's so excited to work with you. She was
- 48:53Speaker 2: like totally confident. Not nervous at all. Very confident in
- 48:58Speaker 2: their marriage. And then. Terrible. And now I'm going to
- 49:04Speaker 2: tell you a rumor I heard a long time ago.
- 49:06Speaker 2: So long ago. I don't even care.
- 49:08Speaker 3: I'm clutching. Because it's so visceral.
- 49:11Speaker 2: I knew somebody who knew Courtney Cox.
- 49:14Speaker 4: Okay.
- 49:15Speaker 2: And back then I was told. So this is a rumor.
- 49:18Speaker 3: I already gasped.
- 49:19Speaker 2: A couple times removed.
- 49:19Speaker 3: I gasped before I even had anything to gasp at.
- 49:22Speaker 2: That, this is a long time ago. Okay. That, like, literally,
- 49:26Speaker 2: she would call the house, Angelina, and it was like,
- 49:32Speaker 2: and she's like, what do you think of her? And
- 49:34Speaker 2: she said, predator, was the word that she called her.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Courtney did. Oh, my God. This is the rumor that
- 49:41Speaker 2: was told to me.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Rumor, rumor, old rumor.
- 49:42Speaker 2: Someone could have made it up. I'm just telling you
- 49:44Speaker 2: what I heard, what I always remembered.
- 49:45Speaker 7: Sure, sure.
- 49:47Speaker 2: So, and then, even though they started to have this, like,
- 49:51Speaker 2: thing going on, they had one last time that the
- 49:54Speaker 2: paparazzi got, they all went to Cabo or something. And they're, like,
- 49:58Speaker 2: holding hands, she and Brad. Then they officially leave. And
- 50:04Speaker 2: then they do this big photo shoot. Where they're dressed
- 50:11Speaker 2: kind of like 1960s housewife Palm Springs.
- 50:15Speaker 3: Okay, I don't remember that.
- 50:16Speaker 2: And his hair is short, and it's her, and it
- 50:18Speaker 2: was like for Vogue or something.
- 50:19Speaker 3: Okay. Oh, wait, I kind of do remember that.
- 50:21Speaker 2: And Angelina, and they have like three or four little
- 50:25Speaker 2: Brad Pitt-looking boys. Like, and this big family, and they're
- 50:29Speaker 2: like in a pool or in something. And everyone, people knew, like,
- 50:34Speaker 2: she was trying to have a kid prior to that
- 50:37Speaker 2: with him.
- 50:37Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 50:38Speaker 2: And that's when she goes, I think he has a
- 50:39Speaker 2: sensitivity chip missing.
- 50:42Speaker 3: Oh.
- 50:43Speaker 2: And also she said, at least I don't have to
- 50:45Speaker 2: sit in an uncomfortable chair that he thinks he's a
- 50:49Speaker 2: designer of. Because he also thought he was like an
- 50:52Speaker 2: architect or something. He thought he knew. And then I
- 50:55Speaker 2: remember he like got her some ring and he designed it.
- 50:58Speaker 2: And I thought it was so ugly.
- 51:00Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, you have maybe the most beautiful ring I've
- 51:03Speaker 3: ever seen.
- 51:03Speaker 2: So it was like it was a diamond inside, like
- 51:07Speaker 2: instead of being pronged up, which I like a prong.
- 51:09Speaker 3: Yeah, like a prong.
- 51:10Speaker 2: It was like inside.
- 51:12Speaker 5: OK, OK.
- 51:12Speaker 2: And looked very masculine.
- 51:13Speaker 3: OK, interesting.
- 51:14Speaker 2: And I was just like, yeah, you don't have great taste.
- 51:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like he is like part of that
- 51:20Speaker 3: crew like him and Leonardo DiCaprio. They all like are
- 51:22Speaker 3: big art collectors and like. Yeah.
- 51:26Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 51:26Speaker 2: Like cigars.
- 51:27Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 51:27Speaker 3: They love, but I can see like that kind of
- 51:29Speaker 3: feels like it's in that wheelhouse of being like, I
- 51:32Speaker 3: have impeccable taste. Yeah.
- 51:35Speaker 2: And then, you know, of course he got a nice
- 51:37Speaker 2: little man facelift.
- 51:39Speaker 3: Yeah. He got a great facelift.
- 51:41Speaker 2: And he's still adorable.
- 51:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 51:43Speaker 3: He looks good.
- 51:43Speaker 2: But his insides are 61.
- 51:45Speaker 6: True.
- 51:46Speaker 2: And of course now he's got this young girl and
- 51:52Speaker 2: He'll probably have two or three kids with her.
- 51:55Speaker 3: It is feeling that way.
- 51:57Speaker 2: And he'll start over because he can.
- 51:59Speaker 3: Yeah, it does feel that way.
- 52:01Speaker 2: As a woman who could not get knocked up if
- 52:04Speaker 2: I got out there again. Thank you, God. Thank you.
- 52:08Speaker 2: It's like the one thing that I want to thank
- 52:12Speaker 2: the Lord for is that at a certain point, we
- 52:16Speaker 2: cannot get knocked up against our will at a certain age.
- 52:20Speaker 2: But you're knocked up at 15.
- 52:20Speaker 3: Yep.
- 52:22Speaker 2: We can get knocked up at 40, whatever. But when
- 52:26Speaker 2: you're like over 50 and all your kids are grown
- 52:30Speaker 2: and they hate you, I mean, these old stars that
- 52:33Speaker 2: then get these young girls, that's why they have to
- 52:36Speaker 2: do those Randall Emmett movies.
- 52:40Speaker 3: What was that?
- 52:41Speaker 2: Randall Emmett is this producer who was doing all, they
- 52:44Speaker 2: called them the geezer movies. He would do these movies
- 52:46Speaker 2: that they threw together in like two weeks, allegedly. That
- 52:49Speaker 2: would have, like, Bruce Willis in it.
- 52:52Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 52:53Speaker 2: And, you know, Robert De Niro. Robert De Niro playing
- 52:57Speaker 2: a cop. I'm like, first of all, cops retire at 55. You're, like, 80. Right, right, right.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Why are you still a cop? Right.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Shut up.
- 53:04Speaker 5: Like.
- 53:07Speaker 3: I know that genre you're talking about.
- 53:09Speaker 2: They have these families.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 53:12Speaker 2: And they think that it's going to be so fun
- 53:14Speaker 2: because this girl's all into them. But then... When she's
- 53:17Speaker 2: 40 with three kids that are elementary age, you're not
- 53:21Speaker 2: going to be the priority.
- 53:22Speaker 3: Yeah. I also, wait, didn't that happen with Al Pacino too? Yes.
- 53:26Speaker 2: They all have. They have these.
- 53:28Speaker 3: Like late in life babies.
- 53:29Speaker 2: Really late in life.
- 53:31Speaker 3: Their grandparent age.
- 53:33Speaker 2: Like great grandparent age.
- 53:34Speaker 3: Having a little baby.
- 53:35Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 53:36Speaker 3: So it's, yeah. So that's something I really.
- 53:39Speaker 2: It's just like, oh, start all, just start all.
- 53:40Speaker 3: I can't imagine being like, I could, I could have
- 53:44Speaker 3: a baby. Like. especially after like what I went through
- 53:47Speaker 3: trying to have a baby. I'm like, oh, these guys
- 53:49Speaker 3: like can just like whatever.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:52Speaker 3: They can just fucking jizz at 80 and it still works.
- 53:58Speaker 3: That's crazy to me. That's crazy.
- 54:01Speaker 2: But the flip side is what the fuck are you doing, idiot?
- 54:05Speaker 2: Like you think.
- 54:05Speaker 3: That's going to be great? It's almost like the girl
- 54:07Speaker 3: is like I want a baby and he's like, well,
- 54:08Speaker 3: I can still give you that.
- 54:10Speaker 2: I can give you that. You can have a nanny, blah, blah, blah.
- 54:13Speaker 2: But like also, blech. And so, yeah, that is the
- 54:19Speaker 2: way it is. You know, go have some fun with that. Like, ugh.
- 54:22Speaker 2: And you really think this chick is going to be, like,
- 54:25Speaker 2: into you?
- 54:27Speaker 3: I wonder what it's like to be the girlfriend and see, like,
- 54:30Speaker 3: how his family has kind of, like, been ruptured over
- 54:36Speaker 3: time and, like, what her perspective is.
- 54:38Speaker 2: The perspective is the perspective of every girlfriend. Angelina was
- 54:44Speaker 2: a nightmare. She turned the kids against him.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Okay.
- 54:48Speaker 2: He tried numerous times and the door is always open.
- 54:52Speaker 2: We'd love them to come around, but you know what?
- 54:55Speaker 2: She might not.
- 54:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:57Speaker 2: Cut to five years from now. They're in St. Bart's
- 55:01Speaker 2: with their nanny from the nanny show.
- 55:02Speaker 3: Right.
- 55:03Speaker 2: And they're having all this fun. And then the Moody
- 55:08Speaker 2: twins show up and they're miserable. And he's like, These
- 55:13Speaker 2: are my kids. They finally want to come to St.
- 55:15Speaker 2: Bart's with us. And she's like, when is it going
- 55:18Speaker 2: to be my turn? When is it going to be
- 55:21Speaker 2: my turn, Brad? I've given you these two beautiful children.
- 55:24Speaker 2: They're disrespectful to me. Right. Well, if you can't be
- 55:29Speaker 2: nice to my kids, then we're done. And then they
- 55:32Speaker 2: get divorced. And then he has another baby at 75
- 55:36Speaker 2: with someone else.
- 55:37Speaker 3: It's so crazy. It's crazy that you could have like
- 55:39Speaker 3: three generations of babies.
- 55:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 55:41Speaker 3: If he wanted to. That's so crazy. He could have
- 55:43Speaker 3: so many families. He was like, yeah.
- 55:47Speaker 2: I know.
- 55:47Speaker 3: He just can keep having different families. That's so. Yeah.
- 55:52Speaker 2: I saw this thing where they said this, this was
- 55:54Speaker 2: somebody's point of view, not mine that I saw like
- 55:58Speaker 2: on TikTok. So I can't give her credit, but she said,
- 56:02Speaker 2: what's really interesting about when men and women is when
- 56:05Speaker 2: a man gets more successful, when he really hits it,
- 56:08Speaker 2: Not every man. Some go seek out a mistress, maybe
- 56:12Speaker 2: get divorced, have another wife, have a whole nother young family.
- 56:16Speaker 5: Right.
- 56:17Speaker 2: But a woman is like, oh, F off. I will
- 56:21Speaker 2: just be by myself.
- 56:22Speaker 7: Yes.
- 56:22Speaker 2: And enjoy my life.
- 56:23Speaker 3: Yes.
- 56:23Speaker 2: Like, I don't need you for shit. And goodbye. And like,
- 56:27Speaker 2: they're not looking like, do you imagine if right now
- 56:31Speaker 2: Cher is dating?
- 56:33Speaker 3: A young guy.
- 56:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Amber Rose's Oh, I didn't know that.
- 56:38Speaker 3: Okay.
- 56:39Speaker 2: His name's AJ something.
- 56:41Speaker 3: Okay.
- 56:41Speaker 2: They have a kid together.
- 56:42Speaker 3: Okay.
- 56:42Speaker 2: They've been together like two or three years. He's 38.
- 56:45Speaker 2: She's 78. Right. Now, wouldn't, now if God was really cruel,
- 56:52Speaker 2: which he's not, that guy would have knocked up Cher.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Right.
- 56:57Speaker 2: And now she's 78, having to push one out and
- 57:00Speaker 2: go to preschool things when she's 83.
- 57:03Speaker 3: Right.
- 57:05Speaker 2: But that's the one thing. So she can keep this
- 57:09Speaker 2: young guy.
- 57:10Speaker 3: Yes.
- 57:10Speaker 2: And there's nothing to lose.
- 57:12Speaker 3: There's a safety there for him.
- 57:14Speaker 2: And I'm sure she's like, hey, you're a good time.
- 57:19Speaker 2: I don't care. I'm sure Amber Rose is like, no problem.
- 57:24Speaker 2: Go to Auntie Cher. She'll give you some wisdom.
- 57:26Speaker 4: I'm not.
- 57:27Speaker 2: Wouldn't you rather have your ex hanging out with an old, like,
- 57:32Speaker 2: I would rather have my ex be like, you know
- 57:34Speaker 2: who Peter's dating?
- 57:35Speaker 3: Who?
- 57:35Speaker 2: Martha Stewart. Great.
- 57:36Speaker 3: Oh, I would love it.
- 57:37Speaker 2: She can cook for the kids.
- 57:38Speaker 3: I would love it.
- 57:39Speaker 2: She lives near country clubs.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Private jet. Like, please find someone super rich versus like
- 57:46Speaker 2: some dumb hoe that brings nothing to the table except
- 57:49Speaker 2: new tiny babies.
- 57:50Speaker 3: It's true. Yeah, I know. I'm like, if my ex
- 57:53Speaker 3: got together with like a successful older woman, I would
- 57:57Speaker 3: just be like, That is so cool. And I really
- 58:00Speaker 3: root for you guys.
- 58:01Speaker 2: I feel like that's like why like the, the, um,
- 58:06Speaker 2: Lauren Sanchez.
- 58:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:07Speaker 2: Benzo thing worked out with her ex who was like
- 58:10Speaker 2: the agent at William Morris, whatever.
- 58:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 58:11Speaker 4: Right.
- 58:12Speaker 2: Is because she married someone so extraordinarily rich.
- 58:15Speaker 3: Yep.
- 58:16Speaker 2: Even though there was cheating going on, the four of
- 58:18Speaker 2: them were dining together and she was sneaking off to
- 58:20Speaker 2: his cabin or whatever. It all worked out because in
- 58:24Speaker 2: the end he's like with some hot Australian and it's like,
- 58:28Speaker 2: If you're going to cheat with someone, don't have it
- 58:31Speaker 2: be the pool boy.
- 58:32Speaker 3: Right.
- 58:33Speaker 2: Don't have it be with some grifter that you met online.
- 58:37Speaker 2: Like have it be with someone that's going to like
- 58:38Speaker 2: elevate our kids' lives. Our kids can work there. Our
- 58:42Speaker 2: kids can, you know, go on these incredible trips and
- 58:45Speaker 2: meet these incredible people.
- 58:46Speaker 3: Right. Absolutely.
- 58:49Speaker 2: Cheat with intention. That is the new Mel Robbins book.
- 58:54Speaker 2: Don't you try to steal it, Mel. Don't.
- 58:56Speaker 3: Cheat with intention.
- 58:57Speaker 2: Where are my glasses? I'm going to do my Mel
- 59:00Speaker 2: Robbins right now. If you're going to cheat, you're going
- 59:03Speaker 2: to cheat with intentions. See the future. Think about it.
- 59:10Speaker 3: It.
- 59:10Speaker 2: Get out of bed and say, if I'm going to
- 59:12Speaker 2: spread my legs, what is the purpose? The purpose is
- 59:15Speaker 2: to elevate not just your legs, but your whole being
- 59:18Speaker 2: and that of those surrounding you. It's that simple people.
- 59:23Speaker 2: That's good. That's really good. I, um, You know, she
- 59:28Speaker 2: and Jay Shetty just killing life. Oh, yeah, Jay Shetty.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Just got another $ 100 million, trillion dollar deal.
- 59:35Speaker 3: Unbelievable.
- 59:36Speaker 2: You know, he lied about his whole origin story.
- 59:38Speaker 3: He did?
- 59:40Speaker 2: I had the reporter on my show. No one cares. Oh,
- 59:43Speaker 2: my God. No one cares. Really?
- 59:46Speaker 3: Yeah. I would think with his people would.
- 59:49Speaker 2: He was doing an article, you know, and someone would
- 59:51Speaker 2: be like, Heather, now you've ruined your chance of ever
- 59:54Speaker 2: being on Jay Shetty's Billion, trillion. I don't fucking care.
- 59:59Speaker 2: Thank God I don't care. But listen, I think he's
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: cute too. Okay. He's, he's, you know, got those ice
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: blue eyes, Indian, sexy cheekbones.
- 1:00:12Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: But basically in a nutshell, his story was that, you know, he,
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: he was a monk and he was something, he was
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: a monk and this and that. But this the story
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: behind his story is not true.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: And he wasn't a monk.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: He like I can't remember, but it wasn't like he
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: killed somebody. It wasn't like that. It was just like
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: his story of how he came about.
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: It wasn't as pure as he. OK.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: It's like if all of a sudden I always said,
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: you know. Well, you guys, I, you know, I... If, like,
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: you thought I was this girl that, you know, came
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: from an orphanage in Pacoima and ended up getting a
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: scholarship to college and ended up at the Groundlings, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: And then you find out, no!
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: She....
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: Lived with her parents, were married their whole life. She
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: went to Catholic school. She does, you know, like this was,
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: you know, but my whole thing was when you come
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: from nothing and you can become something. So it's a
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: little bit like that. But again, somebody would say, I
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: don't care, Heather. Like I just the same way. I
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: don't care that someone stole your joke. I don't care
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: that said Mel Robbins stole that. Let them from the poet.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: I don't care. I still like the podcast. I still
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: like the message. The message they're giving me is good. Right.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: And again, you don't have to listen to it. You
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: don't have to be on the show. You don't have to.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: But no, he was writing the story to do an expose,
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: not an expose, to do like a real complimentary piece
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: on him. And then he started to discover some stuff.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: And a lot of it was also the coaching. The
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: coaching is the MLM of yesteryear. Where you are a coach.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: Yes, yes.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: Then you teach people to be coaches and then they
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: teach people to be coaches.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: I see.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: And so on and so on and so on. And
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: then you buy these expensive courses.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: Kind of like a Scientology.
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: I feel like some acting teachers are that way too.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: Totally.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: Yeah, the coaching, learning to coach.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: The acting teaching thing.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: You have to coach from the master and then the, yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: Yeah, acting teachers, that's a weird world too. Anyway, so
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: getting back to that. So that was also kind of a,
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: And then when he was looking into it, they were
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: just like not answering it. And then the big PR
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: company or whoever he's with told the magazine, you know,
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: you're not going to run this story. And then the
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: magazine said, you can take it somewhere else. I think
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: he took it to the guardian, but like, I want
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: to say originally it was like at. It's DQ or Esquire.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: And I'm sorry that I'm like messing this up, but
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: you can find them in, in my podcast, but it, um,
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: But it was like, yeah, we're not going to run
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: this because this big PR company, we get all these
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: other people from. So we don't want to piss them
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: off by doing this article that isn't this fluff piece.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: It's a little bit of a juicy. But even though
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: it came out, even though it was on my show
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: and I found it fascinating. Nobody cares.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: It's so interesting.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: I mean, nobody cares. It's like I always say, like, well,
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: because they also.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Oh, sorry. Go ahead.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: No, you go.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: No, I was going to say, like, well, also because
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: when when you get into the podcast realm, it's like, well,
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: then people are like, oh, well, I like the guest
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: they had on or I like the conversation they had.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: It's like less of the onus on on the Jay
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: Shetty of it all. And.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: And I think the loophole of a podcast is when
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: people get hard on me, like, you got your facts wrong.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: I'm like, this isn't a facts-based thing. This is a
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: comedic conversation. It's improvisational. Yes, there's some prep work, but
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: I don't have a staff of 55 people. At the
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: end of this podcast, you're not going to hear like,
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: you know, sound, da-da-da-da. We just do it and we
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: move on. Like, not 25 people working on it. But like,
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: I think with that too, you're like, well, it's just
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: a conversation of advice. It's just like you're sitting in
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: on a therapy session. And if you don't like the therapist,
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: then who cares? And then you're like, and then the
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: business people are like, well, we believe people will watch this.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: So that's why we're going to pay this person all
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: this money. And there's no, like, I get it. It
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: all goes around.
- 1:04:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: Especially now. Like, yeah, I feel like so much of, um,
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: the stuff that we used to care about in terms
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: of like artistic integrity, it's like all fallen away. And
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: it's just like, who has the biggest, um, following, can
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: we pay them so we bring more people to, like,
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: our subscription service or.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: Whatever it is. Since you're in the TV writing, producing business, how,
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: you know, both Hacks and The Comeback had a big
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: storyline about AI.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: AI taking over the writing.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: And what is your feeling? What have you seen happening?
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: I mean, the people that I know are pretty staunchly
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: against it.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: I feel like the conversations are, it's really bleak, but hopefully, like,
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: we can stay as pure as possible without using it.
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: But I think in terms of, like, what it could
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: mean for us, like, economically and, like, losing our jobs, I,
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: the times that I start to think about that or
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: read about that, it just gets so bleak that I'm like,
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: I don't even know what.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Don't even want to look at it.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: Well, I just don't even know what to do because
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm so embedded in this world that, yeah,
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: I mean, it, you know, I do think putting those
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: storylines into shows that people watch and like think about
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: and ruminate on. Like, I think that that is a
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: step forward because if it's making it into storylines, that
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: means like they are sending a message out of like,
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: stay away from this. Like it could really hurt people
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: creatively and hurt people's jobs. So I'm like, that's a start.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: Like I'm glad Hacks and The Comeback covered it because,
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: you know, even though it's like, whatever, ingest and, you know,
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: you're getting a little dose of it through comedy I'm
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: like that is kind of how we get a lot
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: of our information is like we saw it on a
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: show or you know we're not always like reading stories
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: about things sometimes it's like the Daily Show did a
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: thing where da da da da da and it's like
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: yeah that was really impactful like that really meant something
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: to people so I think the same is true with
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: the comeback and Hacks I'm like oh I'm glad that
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: they're tackling it because then maybe they're spreading the word
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: in a more palatable way have you ever.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: Like read a script and you're like this is just
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: really like dated corny jokes, but the concept of the
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: show is good. Like, have you ever been like that?
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: And then like, what, how do you fix that? Like,
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: do you ever just go, I mean that I almost
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: feel like someone would like run through an AI and
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: be like, can you make these pop culture jokes more 2026?
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: I mean, you, you, If you did that, I bet
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: it could get you closer, but I don't think it's
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: going to be, like, the final piece.
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: No, I don't think it would ever be the final piece.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think it would be the final piece.
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: But I'm saying, like, if someone, like, with the roasts, okay?
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: Now, you know, because roasts have become popular again, people
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: will be like, we're going to roast Jerry for his
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: 50th birthday.
- 1:07:31Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: You know? And I'm like, I'm sure... Just like if
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: you were like, help me write a wedding speech or whatever.
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: I'm sure you could go in and be like, I
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: want to roast my friend Jerry. He ran a printing company.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: He's been divorced twice. His cat died because he left
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: it outside. And he, whatever, has psoriasis.
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: Yep. And then there it is.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: And then they'd be like, Jerry's here tonight.
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: I mean.
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: It's so funny because I specifically wrote a lot about
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: speeches in my book, Ridiculous. I had a lot of
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: feelings on like how to craft like the perfect wedding
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: speech or wedding toast. And it is kind of horrifying
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: that like, oh, now like there is something that can
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: help you with your public speaking. Like you can actually,
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: I mean, maybe it'll be dry because you don't have
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: whatever performance skills, but like at least the content. Like
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: it is scary that like the content could be decent.
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: Like that's terrifying. Yeah.
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: That's terrifying. That's just I mean, I never want to
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: say it'll be good. I think also like luckily, I
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: think the one good thing about this time we're living
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: in is we're starting to form like I don't know
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: if this is a word, but like a re appreciation
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: for human error. Like human error and flaw is like
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: so beautiful and so important.
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: You're even saying that like to like pop as like
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: a TikToker is to be that authentic person that's like.
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: Do they say that? I don't really follow.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: They're kind of saying that's like the way to go.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: is like to not. I think it's cool.
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: I mean, it's true. Like, and also for live performance
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: and stuff, like I feel like live performance is doing
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: better than ever. And I think it's because people are
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: fundamentally like just feeling a little lonely and disconnected. And like,
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: I do think that the AI stuff ties into that.
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: I think like, sort of stripping away human flaw is
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: like a really scary, it's just scary. And I, I'm like, I,
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: I don't, maybe that's like a, I feel like I
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: kind of have a, uh, what's the word I'm looking for?
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: Like my perspective on this feels very unresearched. And I
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: think I intentionally kind of have stayed in that zone
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: and maybe that's not good. Maybe I need to like
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: not remain so in the dark on it. But I
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: feel like everything I do learn just bums me the
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: hell out. So I kind of steer clear of it.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: Well, no, like I was watching this thing about like
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: these like easy fake nails you can get.
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, I hope my manicurist doesn't
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: see this video. Because I'm not kidding him.
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: There's a machine now. Did you see that? All that stuff.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: Apparently there's a machine where you're going to be able
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: to literally just put your hand in and it'll doesn't
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: mean it'll be good.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: Yeah. But I'm just saying like all this kind of stuff,
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: like I would think if you, if that was your
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: profession and you see something like that, it like gives
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: you anxiety.
- 1:10:15Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: Cause it's like, there's some, like there's an artistry to
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: things and like artistry. What does that even, what is
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: the word? The art, the word artistry will become obsolete
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: because there's no perfecting of a skill if AI can
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: replace it. And like, yeah, I, I, I don't know.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: I mean, it, The experience I've had with it where
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: I was like, this is not in terms of writing,
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: but I've used the AI.
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: Like uh what's like for fonts on instagram i'm like
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: oh like let's see what kind of font it can
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: make if i give this prompt and it's so fucked
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: up and janky that i'm like oh okay it's actually
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: that kind of comforting i'm like good i'm glad it
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: didn't know what i was talking about right i'm glad
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: that it butchered it because i don't want it to
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: to be able to just accomplish everything so easily yeah
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: like it was like okay we're still we still have
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: like a little bit of room to breathe potentially yeah.
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: But i mean it's like but also things have always
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: been formulaic like there'd be times where we my kids
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: were little and we'd be like watching something and i
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: would guess the joke before they'd say it and we'd
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: never seen it and they were like.
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: How did you know that i'm like i.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: Just because i understand how jokes are written right whatever
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: it's like i'm a magician yeah and so like i
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: think that's always kind of like what That this, like, yeah,
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: that it exists. But, like, I was just watching something,
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: 16 Candles. Did you ever see 16 Candles?
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: Oh, God, it's so dark. It's so dark. I loved
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: it when I was a kid.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: I mean, when they cut that clip of, like, how
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: he was disgusted with his girlfriend.
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: It's so bad.
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: Because she got so drunk.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: And then he was like, she's so passed out, I
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: could violate her seven ways to Sunday. But why don't you,
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: little freshman, take her home? And in the end they
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: have sex and she's like, I don't remember, but it's fine.
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: And he's like, I.
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: Know it's so scary.
- 1:12:10Speaker 6: It is.
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: It's, it's, it's almost to the point where you're like, like,
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: you're like, I hope my kids don't see this. Like,
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: it's so, it's like a horror movie.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: It's so bad. And that we went to it. And
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: I remember thinking like he was a dick to that girl. And,
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: but also it put in our brains, all those things
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: were written by guys.
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: And they put it out there just like Woody Allen
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: would have the 17-year-old girl dying to date his skinny, ugly,
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: 45-year-old ass. And somehow an hour in, you've gone, yeah,
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: this is totally believable.
- 1:12:46Speaker 5: I know.
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: It's like you'll start to just go, okay. And then
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: with that whole thing, you were like, yeah, no way
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: would Jake Ryan want redheaded, sorry, Molly Greenwald, a guy
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: that's rich like that and living that life would have
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: just stuck with that girl till he got to college
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: and then like fucking joined SAE and had a great
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: fucking time.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: But it was always that thing where it's always like, oh, well,
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: if I show up to the party and I stand
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: in the corner, the guy's just going to see me
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: in the corner and be like, you. I know.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: No, no.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: You want to meet a guy? Go up, shove your
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: tits in their face, start a conversation, tell them you
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: like them, make the first move. And then they'll be like, okay.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: That's so true. It's like we think they're evolved beings
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: and they're not.
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: There were so, well, I feel like that what you
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: just described is the evolution of the pick me girl.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: Because the literal pick me, which is like you wanted
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: to be picked. You wanted to be chosen. And the
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: narrative that you were watching on TV was, was you
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: just stand there. Hopefully you guys lock eyes across the
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: room at the school dance.
- 1:13:59Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: And then he's like, almost like, like brought to you,
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: like he almost like floats over to you being like, finally,
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: you're the answer to all my problems. And it's like,
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: literally all of the movies were that. It was like,
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: you don't have to do anything. You just stand there,
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: you look hot and like, hopefully he'll see you.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: Or not hot.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: Or you're not hot. Or you're not hot and he'll
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: still see you.
- 1:14:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: Or you just are brunette, which means you're ugly.
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: And yeah, I mean... You're the.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: Ugliest friend if you're brunette.
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: Yeah, those movies. I mean, the dolls. Barbie. You're ethnic
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: if you're brunette. Barbie's friend was brunette.
- 1:14:29Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: Barbie wasn't brunette. Her friend was. Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah,
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: I mean, I think, yeah, just there's so much about, like,
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: how I've approached men in my life or, like, the
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: expectations that I had for men. And it was all just, like,
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: absolute mental pollution from the shows I watched and watched
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: Even cartoons like all the Disney shit, like just pollution
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: in my head of like, this is what it's going
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: to be like. This is what romance looks like. This
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: is what courtship looks like. This is what human decency
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: looks like. It's like it's all so wrong and so flawed.
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: It's really crazy.
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: Well, on that happy note, it was so fun talking
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: to you. It was great. I'm going to go see
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: your show.
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: This is just one of the dates, but you said
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: them all. Where can they follow you so they can
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: see if you're coming to their city?
- 1:15:21Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: All of my links for tickets are on my Instagram
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: at really Jamie Lee. Jamie, J-A-M-I-E-L-E-E. And yeah, at Really
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: Jamie Lee, I have all my links there. All my
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: ticket links.
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: And then you told me you're writing another show, which
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: I'm going to be totally into, called.
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: Yes, I'm working on a show called Escorted, which is
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: going to be on Amazon, starring Brett Goldstein, about a
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: male escort.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: But it's based on a true story or no?
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: No.
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: Okay, well, I love high-class hookery. I love... I call
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: them hooker lights. I love that theme. I remember the
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: original Gigolo movie from a million years ago. I loved
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: the gross Showtime gigolo.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: Reality show with.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: The grossest Las Vegas.
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: It was a tough watch.
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: I know, but I like sad reality shows about Vegas. Oh, okay.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: I love Vegas as a backdrop, but it has to
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: be gritty and sweaty and kind of sad.
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: Yeah, okay. I mean, they don't really make those shows anymore.
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: I don't know. Vanderpump is supposed to... do a new
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: show in Vegas. Oh, good. So I'm hoping that has
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: like a fresh start.
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: And isn't depressing.
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: Get Heather back to Vegas.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: And goes to Vegas and she's got all her stuff.
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: But I love that. So you have that. You also,
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: the fourth season of.
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: Yes, fourth season of Ted Lasso is coming out in August. Yeah, great.
