- 0:51once again welcome to the legendary podcast here and once again my name is David.
- 0:58So don't mind me. I'm, uh, you know, but I'm recording this podcast.
- 1:02I'm actually, uh, I came from the gym. So I'm a little bit hype and I'm a little
- 1:06bit of fatigue at the same time, but we are here and we are making it happen.
- 1:11Shout out to T-Juice TV. I'm going to put the links in the description.
- 1:17There's many independent artists out there and content.
- 1:21If you got a chance, check out my description, T-O, go and put T-Juice TV all
- 1:27over the place, all over the platforms.
- 1:30So that's why we got to make it happen. Hit that like button and talk to me about the Star Wars.
- 1:34Talk to me. I want to hear from people and what they think about Star Wars.
- 1:38What's your favorite movie?
- 1:39And let's get on with the show. as a Puerto Rican kid, born in Puerto Rico,
- 1:45somewhere in the late 70s.
- 1:48So with that said, that means that I missed the first Star Wars,
- 1:52which is Episode IV, A New Hope.
- 1:54I was not born then, but I was able to kind of remember Star Wars Episode V,
- 1:59even though I was a young kid for some reason.
- 2:01I do remember my mother taking us to the movies and watching The Empire Strikes
- 2:06Back. And obviously, Star Wars Episode VI It was 1983 The Apache Light Bride
- 2:13was 1980 Return of the Jedi.
- 2:171983, wow Anyways, that's how back we go with the Star Wars franchise And once
- 2:24again, as a Puerto Rican kid,
- 2:26And just to tell you, I'm born in Puerto Rico I just want to emphasize,
- 2:29born over there So that means that I'm in international waters there You know what I'm saying?
- 2:34And just the fact that Star Wars, it's actually a big franchise.
- 2:38For those people out there, Star Wars is a sci-fi movie based on,
- 2:43you know, the stars, the moons, every galaxy known to person.
- 2:48And obviously it's the story of Skywalker.
- 2:52You could say Anakin, which is Darth Vader. No, no spoiler here.
- 2:56I'm sorry if I spoiled it, spoiled it.
- 2:59Spoiled it. Sorry about that. I should've just said some spoilers.
- 3:04But we make it happen. And we got, you know, Luke Skywalker.
- 3:07I mean, Star Wars in itself.
- 3:09You know, my mother taking us to the movies and watching that.
- 3:12Yes, Star Wars was a thing and was a big thing in Puerto Rico.
- 3:16It was a big thing international throughout the world.
- 3:19Created by George Lucas. And being a young kid, just going to Star Wars.
- 3:23I mean, Star Wars is different.
- 3:26And when you went to the movies and you, you know, me as a young kid,
- 3:30as a young baby, as a toddler perhaps. Abs, yes, watching the Empire Strikes
- 3:34Back and Return of the Jedi.
- 3:37It's one of those things to see that story, that Darth Vader,
- 3:41Mr. Chosen One, in a sense.
- 3:43Well, Anakin Skywalker's story in the near future with the Phantom Menace and
- 3:49Attack of the Clones there.
- 3:51And Revenge of the Sith. But the fact that just watching these movies,
- 3:54you know you're watching something different.
- 3:56Especially Darth Vader. That's my dude. I remember years ago,
- 4:00I had a VR thing, I believe it was the Quest, and the fact that I was playing this Star Wars game.
- 4:09I mean, I was playing as, I forgot who the character was, but it was not in
- 4:14the movie, but Darth Vader was there.
- 4:15The fact that James the Earth Jones, who plays Darth Vader, excuse me,
- 4:21not played Darth Vader, but his voice, his menacing voice, Luke.
- 4:26Ooh, let's go, Darth Vader.
- 4:30You already know Star Wars by that sound. But the fact that I'm playing this
- 4:36VR, I see my boy Darth Vader coming down towards the me,
- 4:40asking me if I got some type of crystal, and I'm giggling like a little kid,
- 4:44like, hee, hee, hee, hee.
- 4:46You know, it's like, it's freaking Darth Vader in front of me.
- 4:50For those who never play some virtual reality, I mean, listen, I recommend VRs.
- 4:56You don't need to go crazy. I mean, at that time, I'm thinking that the technology,
- 5:00maybe I'll go back to the VR headsets.
- 5:03It was fun gadgets. I just always felt that the VR just still not there yet.
- 5:10Unless you get some pricey VR and you got a lot of space in your house.
- 5:16Perhaps a different story.
- 5:17But anyways, I go back to this Darth Vader game. I forgot what was the name
- 5:21of the game, and I'm just giggling.
- 5:23But just to tell you how Star Wars had meant to me, it meant to a lot of people.
- 5:28And in my case, you know, my mother bought into the Star Wars hype.
- 5:33And we got a lot of Star Wars toys for those people out there that do remember
- 5:37the Star Wars toy. Boy, the one that I believe that people always talk about
- 5:41is the little R2-D2 that you can put things. And you know R2-D2.
- 5:45You know, for whatever language he speaks.
- 5:48You got my boy, 3CPO, which is the silver.
- 5:53If I'm not mistaken, he had a silver leg. You know, for those people out there,
- 5:57they always thought that he was gold-pited.
- 6:00But he actually has a silver leg. And I kid you not, and that's the Nelson Mandela.
- 6:06But I'm always, I'm like, since when he had a silver leg?
- 6:10But the fact that, yes, yes, that's a kind of interesting thing.
- 6:15You got Princess Leia, you know, the beautiful Princess Leia.
- 6:19You already know with those little buns. That became a style.
- 6:22Han Solo, you know, that rugged dude that a lot of dudes trying to be like. You know what I mean?
- 6:28And you had so many characters in that. you know, Luke Skywalker's in,
- 6:33you know, the, you know, the, the, uh, Papatine, you know, with that voice.
- 6:40I'm just saying that Star Wars, when you in that movies, one,
- 6:43you know, when watching this, you know, you're watching something magical,
- 6:46you know, you're watching something different.
- 6:48And you know, for a lot of people in May 4th, be the thing that May 4th is actually
- 6:53some type of on rain celebration started in the late 70s somewhere,
- 6:59because in the Star Wars may the Force be with you.
- 7:02But I'm more like Sif, I'm in the dark side there.
- 7:07You know, Palpatine, hey, I
- 7:08could be that next Darth Vader, you know what I'm talking about? Darth D.
- 7:13You know what I mean? I got to change my name to Darth Deconstructing.
- 7:17You know, do that magic. But Star Wars meant a lot to me.
- 7:20And I still enjoy the Star Wars show now that it's owned by Disney.
- 7:25You know, a little mixed feeling when it comes to certain shows.
- 7:29You know, there's been some, I mean, I've watched just about every Star Wars
- 7:33show and all the movies there.
- 7:36And I try my best to watch some of the fan film That have been good in the last
- 7:41You know, with the AI technology and all that You know, we get that in the last couple of years.
- 7:47That's the thing People always ask me, and before I forget People ask me,
- 7:51what is your favorite Star Wars movie going back?
- 7:54And is it the ones, you know, The Empire Strikes Back Is one that it's,
- 7:58you know, that movie You know what I mean?
- 8:01That's that movie But, you know, obviously Rogue One to me, a Star Wars story,
- 8:07even though, you know, Rogue One, for some reason, it's not a,
- 8:11for some reason, people always have said it's not a Star Wars movie per se.
- 8:15And what I mean by Star Wars, that's not the Skywalker kind of sense with the
- 8:21Anakin, Darth, you know, Luke kind of a little story there.
- 8:25But Rogue One, it's the prequel to leading to New Hope, which is episode four,
- 8:31which is the first movie.
- 8:33And it's interesting because as a young kid, I never, or even growing up,
- 8:38I never understood why it's episode four.
- 8:40And then you look at interviews, once, you know, you start growing up,
- 8:44you look at interviews that there was always a plan by Lucas,
- 8:47and Lucas films to do six part and do the Darth Vader first,
- 8:53which is one of those movies, one of those things that to see a villain.
- 8:57Be in the beginning. It's unheard of. Even to this day, it's unheard of.
- 9:03And perhaps a lot of people have taken us, like, why not? Why not have the villain
- 9:08and then just let everything just fill in?
- 9:10And then just to have the Star Wars episode one, two, and three,
- 9:14which is the story of Anakin leading to Darth Vader.
- 9:18Now, you know, watching the episode one, two, and three, I want to say that
- 9:22Clone Wars have kind of those episodes. So, you know, it left me,
- 9:27like, wanting to see more.
- 9:28Good thing that Clone Wars, the animated show, was a thing.
- 9:31And it gave you more backstory of Anakin and whatnot.
- 9:36So, you know, shout out to Clone Wars. There's a lot of Star Wars shows,
- 9:40like I said, that I would recommend.
- 9:43You know, we got the new movie coming up, which is the, how can I say,
- 9:48the Mandalorian and Grogu.
- 9:50Big, big fan of Mandalorian, especially season one, season two.
- 9:55You know shout out to bad batch good episode bad
- 9:58batch have to do with order 66 and some
- 10:01of the clones that how can i say were not part of the order 66 thing i mean
- 10:09i don't want to spoil it but it's a excuse me it's a good show but definitely
- 10:12uh bubba fett i've already know you already know obi-wan kenobi what can i forget
- 10:18about you know cannot forget about obi-wan.
- 10:21Ahsoka, I mean, we could go on and on and on, but, you know, Star Wars is that thing.
- 10:25And when I came to the United States, you would think like, okay,
- 10:30maybe just a thing international, I don't know.
- 10:32But the fact that growing up in the ghettos, you know, in the hood,
- 10:36in the Bronx, you know, there was a lot of Star Wars fans.
- 10:39Even the most meanish, all looking crazy, whatever the case might be,
- 10:44drug dealer, whatever the case might be in the hood.
- 10:47When it comes to Star Wars, they all smile. They got that kid in a kid like,
- 10:51you know, yeah, you know, Darth Vader and do the sword thing.
- 10:57And that's what Star Wars meant a lot. This is my first Star Wars podcast and
- 11:01I basically, or my episode actually.
- 11:04And I just wanted to kind of like touch bases on that situation on what Star Wars have meant to me.
- 11:09And, you know, kind of my trajectory of how I got to become a Star Wars fan.
- 11:15And I would love to, and I'm definitely going to do a lot of more episodes on
- 11:19this in regards to Star Wars and the ghetto, you know, in the hood kind of sense.
- 11:25Because, you know, growing up in the hood is a little bit different because
- 11:29for the most part, let's say, if you have parents or a single mother in this
- 11:34case, you know, it was hard.
- 11:36As, you know, coming to the United States and, you know, growing up,
- 11:39it was a little bit hard to make certain ends meet and, you know,
- 11:42to have like toys. like the Star Wars, which is kind of like a privilege in
- 11:46a sense, but we got there, you know, we got there.
- 11:49Back in Puerto Rico, we had it, you know, we had, it was a little bit different,
- 11:52you know, the course of life in Puerto Rico, it's much, much less than New York
- 11:58City, I might add, so that's a point to take there, but hey,
- 12:02listen, Star Wars is doing that thing.
- 12:04I'm hoping that Mandalorian...
- 12:07Groku, again, I love the show, but, you know, they kind of lost me in the last couple of seasons.
- 12:14I'm hoping for a great movie or a send-off or something to that effect.
- 12:18How can I forget about Yoda? Ooh, you must.
- 12:24Oh, man, you got to love Star Wars. So that's what's going on with that situation.
- 12:28Once again, it's a little celebration, a little bit of my point of view when it comes to Star Wars.
- 12:34I'm going to do more episodes On just touch bases Get previews, reviews,
- 12:40whatever it is In regards to the Star Wars Star Wars fandom here Once again,
- 12:45I'm here just like Today's that day, I feel like watching something Star Wars You know what I mean?
- 12:50Rogue One would be that thing My understanding is that Disney Has the,
- 12:56Darth Maul story Which again, that's something I
- 12:59got to catch up and watch But you already know To all my Star Wars fans out
- 13:04there much love and as always hit the like feel free to comment let me know
- 13:09what's your favorite star wars movie or show or if there's a star wars story
- 13:13that you want to share feel free and you already know may the fourth be with you,
- 13:22peace.
