- 0:00Speaker 1: Mark Simone, the issues you really care about on 710WOR. Well,
- 0:09Speaker 1: Mayor Mamdani plotting, scheming, plotting all kinds of 9-11 crap.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I don't know what he's up to, but as mentioned,
- 0:19Speaker 1: as you know, when he signed the bill about fighting terrorism,
- 0:23Speaker 1: he hands the pen to the terrorist lawyer to signal
- 0:27Speaker 1: that he's not really behind this bill. He's showing up
- 0:30Speaker 1: at the 9-11 ceremony, totally unwanted. And the families, of course,
- 0:36Speaker 1: have all signed that petition. A lot of people have
- 0:39Speaker 1: signed the petition that he not come to the 9-11
- 0:42Speaker 1: ceremony on Friday. 100,000 signatures on there. And this might
- 0:48Speaker 1: look like a good act on his part. He released
- 0:54Speaker 1: all the secret documents showing that the government, the city, state,
- 0:58Speaker 1: local government, Federal, all the government people all knew the
- 1:02Speaker 1: air quality was dangerous and bad and covered it up.
- 1:07Speaker 1: So Mamdani appeared alongside 9-11 families and Jon Stewart was there.
- 1:12Speaker 1: He's always been latching onto this cause and he released
- 1:17Speaker 1: the documents. It's about 150,000 pages of documents saying they
- 1:21Speaker 1: absolutely knew the air quality was poisonous. They knew it
- 1:26Speaker 1: was bad. They covered it up. You remember the famous
- 1:29Speaker 1: Christine Todd Whitman, who was in the administration at the time,
- 1:35Speaker 1: administration official, saying the air quality is fine, nothing to
- 1:39Speaker 1: worry about. So why would he do this? This seems
- 1:42Speaker 1: like a good thing to do to release all this.
- 1:44Speaker 1: He put out a searchable portal so you can search
- 1:48Speaker 1: through the documents and look at stuff. And apparently this
- 1:51Speaker 1: is not it. There's 150,000 pages of documents, but apparently
- 1:55Speaker 1: there's a lot more that could be coming out. So
- 1:57Speaker 1: why would he release that? I mean, if I had
- 2:01Speaker 1: to guess, I think he's in some kind of war
- 2:03Speaker 1: with this 9-11 stuff. And that's why he would hand
- 2:07Speaker 1: the pen to the lawyer of terrorists, of Al-Qaeda terrorists.
- 2:13Speaker 1: And I think by releasing this, he's looking to discredit
- 2:15Speaker 1: everybody that's thought of positively with 9-11. He's looking to
- 2:22Speaker 1: discredit George Pataki, Rudy Giuliani, all the figures that were
- 2:27Speaker 1: there on 9-11, all the heroes of 9-11 government. I
- 2:31Speaker 1: think he's looking to discredit them completely by releasing this.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Because people are already saying, well, how could Christine Todd
- 2:39Speaker 1: Whitman make those statements if she knew all this stuff? Well,
- 2:42Speaker 1: they're going to start to think, well, wait a minute.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Why didn't George Pataki let us know? Why didn't Rudy
- 2:47Speaker 1: Giuliani let us know? Why didn't all those commissioners and
- 2:50Speaker 1: officials and everybody let us know? Why didn't the city
- 2:53Speaker 1: government let us know? Why didn't the Bloomberg administration let
- 2:57Speaker 1: us know if they had these documents? If Mamdani found them,
- 3:00Speaker 1: why didn't the Bloomberg administration find them? Why didn't the
- 3:02Speaker 1: de Blasio administration find them? So I think that's his
- 3:06Speaker 1: purpose in releasing this, just to totally discredit the establishment government.
- 3:12Speaker 1: It's sort of become him against all the 9-11 government figures.
- 3:16Speaker 1: He's looking to discredit them That's why he released it.
- 3:21Speaker 1: And it's getting some attention, not as much attention as
- 3:25Speaker 1: you think, but that could build. The steel from the
- 3:31Speaker 1: World Trade Center, that big chunk of steel from 9-11,
- 3:36Speaker 1: it's been touring the country to honor first responders. It's
- 3:41Speaker 1: been going to various cities. It arrived at the White
- 3:44Speaker 1: House this morning. There's a ceremony today, Tunnel to Towers
- 3:48Speaker 1: brought the steel to the White House with a lot
- 3:51Speaker 1: of first responders, very solemn event today. The president will
- 3:58Speaker 1: speak at this. This will be really his 9-11 speech.
- 4:01Speaker 1: He's not going to come to Ground Zero, and not
- 4:04Speaker 1: because they wouldn't let him speak. Nobody ever speaks. They
- 4:06Speaker 1: don't have speeches at the Ground Zero ceremony. It's just
- 4:10Speaker 1: the families speak. No politicians ever speak, and that's been
- 4:13Speaker 1: the case for many, many, many years. There'll be a
- 4:17Speaker 1: ceremony at the Pentagon as well on Friday. President will
- 4:21Speaker 1: go to that. But today he'll make what is his
- 4:24Speaker 1: 9-11 speech as he honors the first responders today at
- 4:30Speaker 1: the White House. It's after Labor Day. Don't worry. It's
- 4:33Speaker 1: still summer. This is still summer. You got another couple
- 4:36Speaker 1: weeks of summer. 80 and sunny today. This is summer weather. Hey,
- 4:43Speaker 1: you know, there's a show called Comics Unleashed. And it's
- 4:46Speaker 1: on CBS. They canceled Colbert, threw him the hell out
- 4:49Speaker 1: of there and replaced it. Byron Allen actually made a
- 4:53Speaker 1: deal where he pays for the time. He buys the
- 4:55Speaker 1: hour from CBS. And, you know, Byron Allen was a comedian,
- 5:00Speaker 1: but he became this big producer, became a billionaire, literally
- 5:04Speaker 1: a billionaire in show business. And he produces this show,
- 5:07Speaker 1: Comics Unleashed. And it's just funny. It's not political. It's
- 5:11Speaker 1: not pushing any agenda. It's just funny. It's just comedians.
- 5:15Speaker 1: And it's very funny. Byron Allen interviews them. A lot
- 5:18Speaker 1: of funny interviews. So it's been running in that time period. Well,
- 5:23Speaker 1: it's now beating Fallon and Kimmel. Crushing them, actually, in
- 5:28Speaker 1: the ratings. In what's the most important thing. The 18
- 5:32Speaker 1: to 49 demo. 18 to 49 year olds. That's the
- 5:37Speaker 1: key demo. That's what they're after with television viewers. And
- 5:41Speaker 1: in the big demo that everybody's after. Once again, Byron Allen,
- 5:48Speaker 1: Comics Unleashed, beating Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel badly. Now, Kimmel,
- 5:56Speaker 1: don't expect him to stay around too long. They got
- 5:58Speaker 1: rid of Colbert, and they're doing much better with Comics Unleashed.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Kimmel only has a few months left on that contract.
- 6:07Speaker 1: When his contract ended last year, they wouldn't give him
- 6:09Speaker 1: a new one. They just gave him a one-year extension,
- 6:12Speaker 1: which is a real slap in the face insult. So
- 6:16Speaker 1: when that ends by the end of the year, they're
- 6:18Speaker 1: going to look at Comics Unleashed, the great success it's having.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Kimmel and Fallon get much older viewers. But in the
- 6:25Speaker 1: 18 to 49, Comics Unleashed, a big, big hit. So
- 6:30Speaker 1: they may be looking at replacing Jimmy Kimmel with an
- 6:33Speaker 1: actual comedy show, not an angry, vicious political show, but
- 6:37Speaker 1: an actual comedy show, which was the original idea of
- 6:40Speaker 1: late night TV. You have some laughs, you have some entertainment.
- 6:45Speaker 1: A few laughs before you go to sleep. Not an angry,
- 6:48Speaker 1: vicious political guy getting you all riled up before you
- 6:51Speaker 1: go to sleep. Hey, this new rules. They're going in
- 6:54Speaker 1: New York City schools everywhere about you. No phones. You're
- 6:57Speaker 1: not allowed to have your phone in school. I guess
- 7:00Speaker 1: it's because the kids get distracted. They'll take out their phone.
- 7:02Speaker 1: They'll look at their phone while they're in school. You know,
- 7:09Speaker 1: it's like when you go to dinner with people. You're
- 7:11Speaker 1: having dinner with some people. One of them takes out
- 7:12Speaker 1: their phone. They're looking at their phone. You can get
- 7:14Speaker 1: mad if you want. Put down your phone. I mean,
- 7:18Speaker 1: I'm listening. But it's really your fault. If you're having
- 7:22Speaker 1: dinner and you're talking and they take out their phone,
- 7:25Speaker 1: obviously you're not holding their attention. You know, I do
- 7:28Speaker 1: a lot of speeches all over the place and I'm
- 7:30Speaker 1: always speaking at some event or emceeing some. You get
- 7:34Speaker 1: up there and you're talking and you see, you look
- 7:35Speaker 1: in the front row and they're taking out their phone.
- 7:37Speaker 1: It means you're not doing your job. Make it better.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Make it funnier. Make it more interesting. Get them to
- 7:43Speaker 1: put down the phone. Same thing if you're having dinner
- 7:46Speaker 1: with people and they take out the phone. Don't get mad.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Pick up the pace a little or change the subject.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Whatever you're talking about is boring the hell out of them.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I mean, if you're really riveting, nobody's taking out their
- 7:58Speaker 1: phone and looking. It's the same thing in school. If
- 8:01Speaker 1: they're all taking out their phone, it means they're not
- 8:03Speaker 1: listening to what you're teaching. Hey, when I was in
- 8:05Speaker 1: this school, especially high school, I couldn't listen to any
- 8:10Speaker 1: of that. I didn't know what the hell they were
- 8:11Speaker 1: talking about. I didn't learn a damn thing. I didn't
- 8:14Speaker 1: learn anything. And what did I take? We took biology.
- 8:20Speaker 1: What the hell do I need to take biology for?
- 8:22Speaker 1: And especially math class, algebra, calculus. You're going to need
- 8:25Speaker 1: this later in life. You know, it's much later in life.
- 8:28Speaker 1: It never came up once, that algebra stuff. Never once
- 8:33Speaker 1: did I ever need it. I like to go find
- 8:36Speaker 1: these old teachers. You know, you were wrong. It never
- 8:38Speaker 1: came up once that I needed algebra or calculus or even, uh, English.
- 8:43Speaker 1: You know, they'd have you read these books. Silas Marner.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I don't know what the hell this book was about. No,
- 8:50Speaker 1: what the hell I'm reading. Or sometimes the great book,
- 8:53Speaker 1: the great Gatsby is my favorite book. I mean, yeah,
- 8:56Speaker 1: what an incredible book, but they had me read it
- 8:59Speaker 1: when I was 14, 14. I don't know what the
- 9:01Speaker 1: hell this book is about. So, uh, Maybe start thinking
- 9:05Speaker 1: about switching high school to actually teaching something that somebody
- 9:09Speaker 1: might be interested in. Teach them how to do their taxes.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Teach them how to invest. Teach them skills they can
- 9:15Speaker 1: actually use somewhere instead of this stuff. So, hey, a
- 9:19Speaker 1: weird thing happened on MSNOW. Everybody's talking about it. Normally,
- 9:25Speaker 1: you can shoot your mouth off on CNN or MSNBC.
- 9:28Speaker 1: You can accuse Trump of all kinds of things. You
- 9:30Speaker 1: can say all the fake lies you want. Nobody ever
- 9:33Speaker 1: bothers you. So ex-lawyer of Trump's, Ty Cobb, who now
- 9:38Speaker 1: hates Trump, he's on MSNBC now, or MSNBC, whatever they
- 9:41Speaker 1: call it, and he kept calling Trump a rapist. President Trump,
- 9:45Speaker 1: a rapist. The host on the show was Jonathan Capehart.
- 9:50Speaker 1: He actually interrupted. He said, nope, nope, nope, he's not
- 9:53Speaker 1: a rapist. Well, he was convicted of rape. No, he wasn't.
- 9:56Speaker 1: It was sexual assault. Well, but they said he was
- 9:59Speaker 1: a rapist. No, no. sexual assault. So nobody knows why.
- 10:03Speaker 1: But Jonathan Capehart, good for him, actually corrected the guy. Now,
- 10:08Speaker 1: it could be a memo has gone out to everybody
- 10:11Speaker 1: at the network because they did that on ABC on
- 10:15Speaker 1: the Sunday show with George Stephanopoulos. Trump sued. And ABC
- 10:19Speaker 1: had to settle for like $ 15 million. They had to
- 10:21Speaker 1: give Trump $ 15 million. And Trump is currently suing NBC
- 10:26Speaker 1: over Kristen Walker, that fake news corrupt Sunday show host,
- 10:30Speaker 1: for some lie she put on the air. So they're
- 10:33Speaker 1: going to have to make a settlement there. So a
- 10:35Speaker 1: memo has probably gone out to everybody. Although MSNOW is
- 10:38Speaker 1: no longer a part of NBC, but they probably sent
- 10:41Speaker 1: a memo out to everybody not to accuse Trump of
- 10:46Speaker 1: totally fake things because they don't want to get sued.
- 10:49Speaker 1: And MSNBC, MSNOW, it's no longer part of NBC. They
- 10:53Speaker 1: would have to defend themselves. They would have to pay
- 10:55Speaker 1: their own settlement. And I don't think they want to
- 10:58Speaker 1: do it. You know, you'll hear people call Trump a
- 11:01Speaker 1: pedophile or make these pedophile jokes. Well, Donald Trump has never,
- 11:08Speaker 1: ever been accused of being a pedophile. There is nothing
- 11:12Speaker 1: out there, nothing in the Epstein files, absolutely nothing anywhere
- 11:16Speaker 1: that even suggests he had anything to do with pedophilia, nothing.
- 11:21Speaker 1: So if anybody says that, that is absolute, total fake news. Hey,
- 11:26Speaker 1: the Wall Street Journal, did you see this piece they
- 11:28Speaker 1: did on John Fetterman? You know, the guy with the
- 11:31Speaker 1: shorts and the hoodie? It's interesting. You know, why would
- 11:35Speaker 1: you not wear a suit and tie in Congress? You
- 11:37Speaker 1: show up in your basketball clothes or you show up
- 11:41Speaker 1: like you're there to move furniture or something. Why? Why? Well,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I guess it makes it look like you're there to work.
- 11:48Speaker 1: You're going to work hard. Well, no. Big report from
- 11:51Speaker 1: the Wall Street Journal. Apparently, Fetterman is the laziest guy
- 11:55Speaker 1: in the history of Congress. Never shows up. Doesn't really
- 11:59Speaker 1: do anything. He had a meeting scheduled with paralyzed veterans.
- 12:05Speaker 1: And all of a sudden, they got word that he's sick.
- 12:08Speaker 1: He's got laryngitis. He can't come to the meeting. And
- 12:14Speaker 1: there's TVs on in the office there. And so the
- 12:18Speaker 1: staff says, we'll hold it. We'll discuss it with you.
- 12:21Speaker 1: The staff will hold the meeting. But a few minutes later,
- 12:25Speaker 1: they notice on the TV, wait a minute, there's Fetterman
- 12:27Speaker 1: on Fox News. He stood them up to go do
- 12:30Speaker 1: a Fox News interview. So there's more and more of this.
- 12:35Speaker 1: He's backed out from attending funerals. He found a way
- 12:40Speaker 1: to get marked present at certain hearings when he's not
- 12:43Speaker 1: really there He'd walk in, get Mark present, and just leave.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Cancels meetings all the time with constituents and lawmakers. There
- 12:51Speaker 1: was one funeral for police officers killed in his hometown.
- 12:54Speaker 1: It was supposed to be there. Then he got there.
- 12:57Speaker 1: He found out the funeral's three hours. And he said,
- 13:00Speaker 1: that's a deal breaker. And left. Wouldn't show up at
- 13:03Speaker 1: the funeral. So that's apparently the real Fetterman behind the scenes.
- 13:09Speaker 1: But it's starting to come out. Hey, Costco, you know
- 13:15Speaker 1: the most popular thing? It's this pumpkin stuff is everywhere now.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Pumpkin everything is showing up everywhere. But Costco has the
- 13:22Speaker 1: greatest food. Nobody has a better hot dog. It's the
- 13:25Speaker 1: finest hot dog with the best hot dog bun. They
- 13:28Speaker 1: now have a copy of the Dairy Queen Blizzard. Costco
- 13:33Speaker 1: is just a place to go eat. It's phenomenal. And
- 13:36Speaker 1: the bakery, amazing stuff. But one of the most popular
- 13:39Speaker 1: things is the pumpkin cheesecake. It's back. It's unbelievable. The
- 13:44Speaker 1: pumpkin cheesecake, whipped pumpkin topping, sprinkle of cinnamon, nutmeg. Everybody's
- 13:49Speaker 1: been waiting for this. It's finally back. A little early,
- 13:52Speaker 1: but that's okay. The other thing about Costco, everything is
- 13:55Speaker 1: so cheap there. Now, this pumpkin pie is 10 ounces,
- 13:58Speaker 1: made fresh daily. How much do you think it is? $ 5. 99. $ 5. 99.
- 14:03Speaker 1: It'd be $ 30 anywhere else. $ 5. 99 at Costco. Hey, do
- 14:07Speaker 1: you drink coffee every day? Well, if you drink too
- 14:11Speaker 1: much coffee, believe it or not, Sorry to break this
- 14:14Speaker 1: to you. Latest study. It's associated with higher, actually lowering
- 14:21Speaker 1: your bone density, especially around the hips. Hip bone mineral
- 14:26Speaker 1: density can be lowered by coffee. Too much coffee can
- 14:29Speaker 1: do that. Now listen to this. If you drink tea,
- 14:32Speaker 1: it gives you a higher hip bone mineral density. That's
- 14:36Speaker 1: very important as you get older, that bone density. So
- 14:39Speaker 1: tea helps it. Coffee hurts it. Latest research, I'm sorry
- 14:44Speaker 1: to tell you, but especially if you drink five cups
- 14:48Speaker 1: of coffee or more per day can really lower bone
- 14:51Speaker 1: density around the hips. Hey, we'll take some calls next.
- 14:55Speaker 1: 800-321-0710 is the number. Don't forget, it's 9 to noon
- 14:59Speaker 1: every day. We're now three hours. 9 to noon every day.
- 15:04Speaker 1: We'll take some calls next. 800-321-0710.
