- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome to Daguars Am. This morning, we have finally made it.
- 0:20Speaker 1: It's the first week of the regular season for the
- 0:23Speaker 1: NFL Real football officially back here in Jacksonville. As the
- 0:26Speaker 1: Jags prepare to head down to Miami in their Week
- 0:29Speaker 1: one opener against the Dolphins. Let's start off with our
- 0:31Speaker 1: big things today, the final fifty three. The roster was
- 0:34Speaker 1: cut down last Tuesday to fifty three players. This is
- 0:37Speaker 1: the final roster, at least for now it is for
- 0:39Speaker 1: the Jaguars. Anyway, a lot of those cuts may be questionable.
- 0:43Speaker 1: What we weren't sure what they were going to do
- 0:44Speaker 1: on the defensive side of the football. Jeff Logerman's in
- 0:47Speaker 1: with us today. Jeff, they kind of did some interesting
- 0:49Speaker 1: things with the edge players and the defensive line. What
- 0:52Speaker 1: exactly was going on there.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Well, very interesting, to say the least.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I don't think I've ever seen a final roster that
- 0:57Speaker 3: has eight big guys and three edge players. Usually the
- 1:00Speaker 3: edge players are kind of at a premium, although the
- 1:03Speaker 3: Jaguars do consider Eric Armstead as an edge player, but
- 1:06Speaker 3: that's kind of surprising because for the bulk of his
- 1:08Speaker 3: career he's been an interior player. But if they're gonna
- 1:12Speaker 3: be big. They're gonna be really big upfront, that's for sure.
- 1:15Speaker 3: If they play a lot of those guys that you
- 1:17Speaker 3: normally are inside on the outside.
- 1:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought that was definitely the theme of the
- 1:22Speaker 4: fifty three. Ten offensive linemen, eleven defensive linemen. They clearly
- 1:28Speaker 4: were trying to stay big. I was a little surprised
- 1:30Speaker 4: Christian Braswell didn't make it. Those surprised a few guys
- 1:33Speaker 4: didn't make it, but Doug Peterson had sort of hinted
- 1:36Speaker 4: that a couple of days before the fifty three was out.
- 1:38Speaker 4: He talked about how he and Trent Balky didn't want
- 1:41Speaker 4: to get caught somewhere down the line without big guys
- 1:45Speaker 4: on the roster. They skewed that way. I think their
- 1:47Speaker 4: philosophies was, we can go find guys who can run.
- 1:51Speaker 4: It's harder to find big guys who can play.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:53Speaker 3: And the one thing that I would add to that
- 1:55Speaker 3: is that if you remember, at the conclusion of last year,
- 1:57Speaker 3: this team really felt that they had to be more
- 2:00Speaker 3: physical on both sides of the line, that's offensive and
- 2:03Speaker 3: defensive lines, and certainly that theme carried true this year.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Bigger and stronger definitely a focus during the off season,
- 2:10Speaker 1: and we're seeing that on this final roster right now.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Our second big thing this week is going to be
- 2:14Speaker 1: Week one.
- 2:15Speaker 5: It's week one.
- 2:15Speaker 1: We take on that opener in Miami. John, It's not
- 2:18Speaker 1: going to be an easy one, but there is always
- 2:20Speaker 1: those flukes in Week one. Do we know exactly what
- 2:22Speaker 1: to expect other than the Dolphins are definitely gonna want
- 2:24Speaker 1: to throw the football.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Well, it may have been my friend Jeff Logaman who
- 2:27Speaker 4: told me in ninety five that you can never predict
- 2:31Speaker 4: what goes on Week one, and it certainly proves true.
- 2:36Speaker 5: It's hard to game plan for it.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Teams spends so much time game planning for it, and
- 2:41Speaker 4: they usually have trick things in and you just haven't
- 2:45Speaker 4: seen anything. So usually what you can do after Week
- 2:48Speaker 4: one is sort of throw all those results out and
- 2:50Speaker 4: know that the season may not go like that. I
- 2:53Speaker 4: think this is a tough Week one matchup because Miami
- 2:55Speaker 4: is so fast. A new defense ye going to be
- 3:00Speaker 4: strong over time. Heads can spin when you're playing this
- 3:04Speaker 4: much speed. This is a tough test for this first
- 3:07Speaker 4: year defense.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Yet, Yeah, I don't have any doubt that it's a
- 3:10Speaker 3: tough test, in particularly because Miami if you look at
- 3:13Speaker 3: them what they did last year. They came out of
- 3:15Speaker 3: the gate hot, and we're rolling. You know, you hope
- 3:17Speaker 3: that with Jalen Waddle and Tyreek Kill missing some time
- 3:21Speaker 3: going into this week will slow the Miami Dolphins down
- 3:24Speaker 3: a little bit. But again, you're right, going all the
- 3:26Speaker 3: way back to nineteen ninety five, the quote that I
- 3:28Speaker 3: said to you at that point, there are a lot
- 3:30Speaker 3: of things that you don't know in week one. There's
- 3:33Speaker 3: always a lot of surprises. Then the other thing to
- 3:35Speaker 3: remember too, very few players are in game condition in
- 3:39Speaker 3: week one because most of the players nowadays are not
- 3:42Speaker 3: playing a lot in the preseason, so sometimes it takes
- 3:45Speaker 3: a little bit of time to get into that groove,
- 3:48Speaker 3: not only as a player, but also as a team.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Yad me kai the matchup this week Jaguars front seven defensively,
- 3:56Speaker 4: josh Heinz, Allen, Trayvon Walker, Devon Hamilton, to me, are
- 4:00Speaker 4: all these guys that if there's a core of the defense,
- 4:03Speaker 4: that's it they got to win to combat mighty speed and.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Ryan Nielsen's new scheme being put to the test right
- 4:09Speaker 1: out of the gate for sure in that game against
- 4:11Speaker 1: the Dolphins offense. Our final big thing today, Kennedy look Ahead.
- 4:14Speaker 1: We're going to do our season predictions a little bit
- 4:16Speaker 1: later on in the show, but I did want to
- 4:18Speaker 1: talk a little bit about this first chunk of this season. Obviously, Jeff,
- 4:21Speaker 1: I'm not going to call it a must win in Miami,
- 4:23Speaker 1: but it's important for this team to get as many
- 4:26Speaker 1: wins as they can as early as they can, because
- 4:28Speaker 1: there's some difficult games on this schedule.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Well, let's kind of go back to last year for
- 4:32Speaker 2: a minute.
- 4:33Speaker 3: You know, you had what was one of the toughest
- 4:35Speaker 3: collapse in franchise history last year, and so if you
- 4:39Speaker 3: don't start fast, will that mindset look back to last
- 4:43Speaker 3: year and start to have a little doubt. It would
- 4:45Speaker 3: always be great to start fast, just so that that
- 4:48Speaker 3: mindset positive results creates positive results in the future. So
- 4:52Speaker 3: I hope this team starts fast in Miami, and I
- 4:55Speaker 3: have to I'm also going to just kind of chime
- 4:57Speaker 3: in here a little bit and give a little credit
- 4:59Speaker 3: to the offense. I think Trevor Lawrence is primed for
- 5:02Speaker 3: a big year, and I think that this may be
- 5:04Speaker 3: a big moment for him this week in Miami.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Yeah, it's certainly this pregame storyline is how fast the
- 5:11Speaker 4: Dolphins offense is. I think the Jaguars offense with Trevor
- 5:15Speaker 4: has to counter that look on paper, it's a really
- 5:19Speaker 4: tough start to the season. One thing I always believe
- 5:23Speaker 4: in when trying to analyze the NFL, though, is in
- 5:25Speaker 4: that first four or five games, you always think you
- 5:28Speaker 4: know what teams are.
- 5:30Speaker 5: You don't really know until week five or six.
- 5:33Speaker 4: So this brutal schedule, I think the Jaguars can find
- 5:37Speaker 4: a couple. I'm just not sure where they are yet,
- 5:40Speaker 4: so I'll sort of play the pullback game.
- 5:44Speaker 5: But it's a tough start on paper, no doubt.
- 5:47Speaker 1: That's why they have to play the games though. So
- 5:48Speaker 1: we're going to keep an eye on things and we'll
- 5:50Speaker 1: tell you our season predictions when we come back later
- 5:52Speaker 1: on Jack Sam Seafield's first Jacksonville's premiere Luxury Auto Group.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Go to Fieldsauto dot com. Welcome back into Jags Am
- 6:12Speaker 1: just this. We're gonna do a little this or that, Jeff,
- 6:15Speaker 1: thanks for joining us today. Sure, John, I appreciate you
- 6:18Speaker 1: here it being here always, so thank you.
- 6:21Speaker 2: You're welcome.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Anyway, We're gonna do a little this or that, So
- 6:24Speaker 1: we're gonna look at some predictions we have for this season.
- 6:27Speaker 1: We're gonna look ahead and be optimistic. So first off,
- 6:30Speaker 1: I'm going to talk about sacks. We saw a career
- 6:32Speaker 1: year out of Josh last year. Trayvon's heading into his
- 6:34Speaker 1: third year. Now, who do we think we'll have more
- 6:36Speaker 1: sacks this year? Josh heinz Allen, We're Trayvon Walker, Jeff,
- 6:39Speaker 1: we are you thinking?
- 6:40Speaker 3: Well, I'm thinking Josh, just because he's proven it before.
- 6:45Speaker 3: I think that Josh has more tools than his toolkit.
- 6:49Speaker 3: He's done it before. He typically plays on the right side,
- 6:53Speaker 3: which also gives him a little bit more opportunities on
- 6:56Speaker 3: the open side to pass for us.
- 6:57Speaker 2: So I'm gonna say just because of that.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Josh, Yeah, I'm gonna agree, But because I don't think
- 7:05Speaker 4: Trayvon has to have eighteen sacks to be.
- 7:09Speaker 5: A really, really effective player. But we talked a little
- 7:13Speaker 5: bit about it in talking about the show.
- 7:15Speaker 4: I think that it's going to be closer than it
- 7:19Speaker 4: was last year. I feel like Trayvon really started coming
- 7:23Speaker 4: on at the end of last season. Even beyond the
- 7:25Speaker 4: numbers he was putting up, you just felt that he
- 7:28Speaker 4: was becoming more dominant and knowing how to use his
- 7:30Speaker 4: size and to me, the way Trayvon plays, Josh was
- 7:34Speaker 4: the guy last year had a bunch of multi sack games, right,
- 7:37Speaker 4: Trayvon to me this year, just his physical dominance. In
- 7:42Speaker 4: some situations, he might find a couple of guys that
- 7:45Speaker 4: he's just better than in this schedule and rack up
- 7:48Speaker 4: some multi sack games this year.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:50Speaker 3: The crazy thing about both of these guys are both
- 7:52Speaker 3: two hundred and eighty five pounds now, I mean they're giant,
- 7:56Speaker 3: And you know, I think that Trayvon has added a
- 7:59Speaker 3: lot to his toolbox. If you look at his game
- 8:02Speaker 3: in years past, he would always be the biggest and
- 8:05Speaker 3: the strongest player and he could always just utilize that
- 8:07Speaker 3: as his toolbag.
- 8:08Speaker 2: But in the NFL, everybody's big and fast and good.
- 8:11Speaker 3: And the one thing he's learned to do is that
- 8:14Speaker 3: he's learned to get on the edge of players. And
- 8:16Speaker 3: you can be a lot bigger and a lot stronger,
- 8:17Speaker 3: and a lot faster when you are on the edges
- 8:19Speaker 3: of players.
- 8:20Speaker 2: And that's just part of the progression.
- 8:22Speaker 3: And I give him credit because he's really taking that
- 8:25Speaker 3: next step. Watching him in training camp this year, and
- 8:27Speaker 3: I'm excited to see what he is going to do,
- 8:29Speaker 3: and I agree with John.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I think it's going to be.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Much closer as far as sack total numbers for each
- 8:35Speaker 3: of those guys than it wasn't in last year's instance.
- 8:38Speaker 4: I mean, I find intriguing about both of these guys.
- 8:40Speaker 4: I get we all talk sacks. Both of these guys
- 8:44Speaker 4: to me have pass wresh ability, and yet I don't
- 8:47Speaker 4: think either of them give up anything when it's time
- 8:50Speaker 4: to stop the run. I think that's what makes them. Again,
- 8:54Speaker 4: we're in such a sack centric world. But to me,
- 8:58Speaker 4: the reason that they're right, and I think both these
- 9:01Speaker 4: guys have a chance to be great, is because they
- 9:04Speaker 4: play the run almost as well as they stop the past.
- 9:06Speaker 4: And maybe for Trayvon better still against the run than
- 9:11Speaker 4: he is pass rushed.
- 9:12Speaker 3: You know what they say about sacks, You got to
- 9:14Speaker 3: have him to carry the money paid.
- 9:19Speaker 1: So he's got the money, he's good to go.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Josh needs a big sack. But let's move to offense.
- 9:25Speaker 1: I'm looking at two new additions to the offense this year.
- 9:27Speaker 1: So we have Dave Davis, who signed as a free
- 9:29Speaker 1: agent out of Buffalo, and then Brian Thomas Junior is
- 9:31Speaker 1: picked in the first round. As we've seen with Trevor.
- 9:33Speaker 1: He loves his stand by targets of Christian Kirk and
- 9:36Speaker 1: Evan Ingram. But John, if I'm looking at one of
- 9:37Speaker 1: the new guys, if you can, you'll have more touchdowns
- 9:39Speaker 1: at the end of the.
- 9:40Speaker 5: Day, Well, it's tough. I'm gonna go with.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Dave Davis because I just go with experience over rookies
- 9:50Speaker 4: in this league. So I think he'll wind up with
- 9:54Speaker 4: a couple more. That being said, as much as I
- 9:58Speaker 4: harp on all these shows when I write out how
- 10:00Speaker 4: you can't count on rookies, Brian Thomas during training camp
- 10:05Speaker 4: started showing things that make me think that he may
- 10:09Speaker 4: have a bigger year than maybe I usually expect out
- 10:11Speaker 4: of a rookie.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Jet Now he can fly, he can flat out fly,
- 10:15Speaker 3: and it's effortless, and I think there's a lot of
- 10:18Speaker 3: defensive backs that are going to get caught a little
- 10:20Speaker 3: off balance this year just because when he was running fast,
- 10:24Speaker 3: he doesn't appear to be running fast because it is effortless.
- 10:28Speaker 3: And it's hard not to give the credit to Gay
- 10:33Speaker 3: because Gabe's proven it, and Gabe also does it every year,
- 10:37Speaker 3: but he does it in a different style. He's kind
- 10:39Speaker 3: of crafty, whereas Brian just has the speed to go
- 10:42Speaker 3: in an instant. But I hope that this is a
- 10:46Speaker 3: very tight race and they're both right around ten to
- 10:48Speaker 3: eleven on the year, then.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Everybody can be happy then.
- 10:52Speaker 3: But will I will say this, this team is going
- 10:54Speaker 3: to have a vertical element to it this year that
- 10:57Speaker 3: hasn't been seen in a long time. We've seen kind
- 11:00Speaker 3: of a lot of that dinking and dunking in the past.
- 11:03Speaker 3: I think this year this offense is going to be
- 11:06Speaker 3: the old Al Davis style and that they're going to
- 11:08Speaker 3: go deep and go deep often.
- 11:11Speaker 4: And neither one of these guys feels like false narratives
- 11:13Speaker 4: before the season. We sad as we talk about these
- 11:15Speaker 4: things they just don't pan out. It just feels like
- 11:20Speaker 4: both of these guys are gonna matter a lot in
- 11:23Speaker 4: the offense and it's gonna be a different offense than
- 11:25Speaker 4: we saw last year on that front.
- 11:26Speaker 1: And it's exciting to have so many options because I
- 11:28Speaker 1: feel like Trevor will spread the ball around. Given that
- 11:31Speaker 1: opportunity and having this many different ways that they can
- 11:33Speaker 1: attack it, plus the run game as well, that bodes well,
- 11:36Speaker 1: or hopefully bodes well for the offense going to take
- 11:38Speaker 1: things around the AFC South. Now we know CJ. Stroud
- 11:41Speaker 1: is very talented, but there's two other quarterbacks that we've
- 11:43Speaker 1: been hearing about as well. So who is the bigger
- 11:45Speaker 1: upside this season, Anthony Richardson or Will Lovis Jeff CJ.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Stroud.
- 11:50Speaker 1: That's fair enough.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Look, CJ is an amazing young man. Last year of
- 11:57Speaker 3: the year that he had was tremendous.
- 11:59Speaker 2: And the two other guys are very unproven.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Richardson was hurt for the majority of last year. Levis
- 12:06Speaker 3: was in and out of the lineup.
- 12:09Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I mean toss a coin up into the air between
- 12:12Speaker 3: those two, but I just you know, again I go
- 12:15Speaker 3: John to c J.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Terrell.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Yeah, on this question because it says upside. I would
- 12:21Speaker 4: go Richardson because I think he has the potential to
- 12:25Speaker 4: be otherworldly.
- 12:25Speaker 5: I mean, run, throw, arm everything.
- 12:28Speaker 4: The question you have on him is can you stay
- 12:30Speaker 4: healthy and can he avoid some of the mistakes that
- 12:33Speaker 4: dogged him in Florida? So upside Richardson. My sense is
- 12:38Speaker 4: that over time, Lewis may had the better career.
- 12:42Speaker 3: I don't necessarily agree with you on that one, just
- 12:44Speaker 3: because playing quarterback is in the NFL is not about
- 12:48Speaker 3: being an athlete. It's about getting the ball to the
- 12:51Speaker 3: players that can make a difference. And just because Richardson
- 12:55Speaker 3: is the better athlete doesn't mean that he's going to
- 12:57Speaker 3: be the better passor it's about playing quarterback. It's not
- 13:01Speaker 3: about the best athlete in the National Football League, true.
- 13:04Speaker 1: And so what's built around you as well, cause we've seen,
- 13:06Speaker 1: you know, quarterbacks, maybe Carolina as an example. What's around
- 13:09Speaker 1: you is important as well, so what we've seen there,
- 13:12Speaker 1: So it'll be interesting to see how those things play out,
- 13:14Speaker 1: but something to keep an eye on for the rest
- 13:16Speaker 1: of the season in the AFC South. Stay with us
- 13:18Speaker 1: here on jags Am. Coming up after the break, we'll
- 13:20Speaker 1: give you our overall season predictions. For eleven years, dream

- 13:39Speaker 1: home builder of the Jacksonville Jaguars. You can visit dreamfinders
- 13:42Speaker 1: homes dot com for all of the available inventory and
- 13:45Speaker 1: go Jags. Welcome back to jags Am. As the regular
- 13:49Speaker 1: season is here, we're so excited to finally see football, real, actual,
- 13:53Speaker 1: live NFL football. So we're gonna do our little predictions
- 13:56Speaker 1: just a little bit as we get into these things.
- 14:00Speaker 5: In the division.
- 14:00Speaker 1: We've talked so much about what CJ surround the texts
- 14:03Speaker 1: you were able to do last year, what we're expecting
- 14:05Speaker 1: from them this year. So let's go over what we
- 14:07Speaker 1: think for the division. What are you hoping to see
- 14:10Speaker 1: out of the team. You guys have the same answer
- 14:12Speaker 1: just telling you.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Yeah, we're both at four and two.
- 14:14Speaker 4: Well, I think we're both at four and two because
- 14:17Speaker 4: we both understand this league and winning in the division
- 14:22Speaker 4: is often tougher than winning out of the division, so
- 14:24Speaker 4: you usually split and if you can get a series sweep, Jeff,
- 14:29Speaker 4: you play when you swept the team, you felt good
- 14:30Speaker 4: bad it?
- 14:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel really good about it.
- 14:32Speaker 3: And I think the two losses come, one of them
- 14:35Speaker 3: at the hands of the Houston Texans and then the
- 14:38Speaker 3: other one I think comes at the hands of the
- 14:40Speaker 3: Indianapolis Colts.
- 14:42Speaker 2: I don't think the Titans will be able to compete
- 14:44Speaker 2: this year. That's just my opinion.
- 14:47Speaker 3: But I hope that they can be at four and two,
- 14:50Speaker 3: and I hope the rest of the record reflects about
- 14:52Speaker 3: the same ratio.
- 14:54Speaker 4: And that doesn't necessarily mean that the Jawarys aren't better
- 14:57Speaker 4: than those division opponents over time.
- 15:00Speaker 5: It's just so hard to sweep.
- 15:02Speaker 4: When you're going on the road in its second game,
- 15:04Speaker 4: there's always circumstances to make it tough. Five and one
- 15:08Speaker 4: is an unbelievable division record in this league, and it
- 15:12Speaker 4: should be you know, you should be remembered forever when
- 15:15Speaker 4: it happens.
- 15:16Speaker 5: But four and two is really good.
- 15:18Speaker 4: They can If they can get four and two, I
- 15:20Speaker 4: think they're a playoff ting.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I went five and one with mine because, as Jeff
- 15:23Speaker 1: likes to say, with my teal colored glasses on, for
- 15:26Speaker 1: my final record of the season, they're going to have
- 15:28Speaker 1: to go five and one because of the rest of
- 15:29Speaker 1: this schedule is pretty daunting. So when we look ahead
- 15:32Speaker 1: to this season as a whole and we were trying
- 15:34Speaker 1: to sum things up, where did you guys kind of
- 15:36Speaker 1: land with your predictions for the season record.
- 15:39Speaker 4: I'm at eleven and six, and with your teal colored glasses, yeah,
- 15:44Speaker 4: to some respects, but look, I really believe this to
- 15:48Speaker 4: my core.
- 15:48Speaker 3: I believe that Trevor is ready to take the next
- 15:51Speaker 3: step and is ready to enter the elite category. He's
- 15:55Speaker 3: got the weapons around him, he's got the experience. Now
- 15:58Speaker 3: it's your three in the sist him. He's one hundred
- 16:01Speaker 3: percent healthy. If the offensive line can give him better
- 16:04Speaker 3: this year, I really believe that he's ready to take
- 16:07Speaker 3: that next step.
- 16:08Speaker 2: And he may end up leading them to twelve.
- 16:10Speaker 3: You never know, but it's this is such a quarterback
- 16:13Speaker 3: driven league, John, it's what he's.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Going to do.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Yeah, and I agree. I liked what you saw at
- 16:21Speaker 4: Trevor in the preseason, in the after about the first
- 16:24Speaker 4: week when everybody's going.
- 16:25Speaker 5: Crazy or a couple of practices that were weird.
- 16:28Speaker 4: You saw consistency, you saw professionalism, You saw what you
- 16:32Speaker 4: want to see out of a fourth year guy. I
- 16:35Speaker 4: went with ten and seven because to me, at ten
- 16:39Speaker 4: and seven eleven and six, a coin can be flipped
- 16:42Speaker 4: and you're one or the other. I think this is
- 16:43Speaker 4: a team that will have a winning record. I think
- 16:46Speaker 4: the key is the reason I went ten and seven
- 16:48Speaker 4: instead of eleven and six. I think they could have
- 16:52Speaker 4: some injuries and stuff to overcome in a tough schedule early.
- 16:56Speaker 4: I think they will have this sort of experience and
- 16:58Speaker 4: the veteran experience and a better line on both sides
- 17:02Speaker 4: to overcome it and eventually have a stretch where they
- 17:06Speaker 4: make up ground that they may lose in that first month.
- 17:09Speaker 5: Because the first month of the schedule is tough.
- 17:12Speaker 3: There was let's go back to the last preseason game
- 17:15Speaker 3: in Atlanta where they were playing backups and Trevor was
- 17:18Speaker 3: eight of ten in that ball game.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I believe he was. And you remember the two incompletions.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Do you guys remember the two incompletions because I remember them.
- 17:27Speaker 3: One of them was off the tips the fingertips of
- 17:30Speaker 3: Gabe Davis. Yeah, okay, that ball was put on the money.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Okay.
- 17:34Speaker 3: The other one was when Trevor threw it and then
- 17:39Speaker 3: Gabe couldn't find it in the air, and it literally
- 17:42Speaker 3: was the ball in the bucket. If Gabe had found it.
- 17:44Speaker 2: It would have been another touchdown.
- 17:46Speaker 4: And in the preseason opener, too impressive touchdown to have
- 17:51Speaker 4: an anger him in that, like, well, you're talking about Jeff.
- 17:54Speaker 4: He's doing things. He's making throws that are NFL successful
- 17:59Speaker 4: type thing. So it's look, if he's what we think
- 18:04Speaker 4: he is, then you're right, then he then he might
- 18:09Speaker 4: be the best quarterback in the division, even though.
- 18:10Speaker 5: Everybody's c J stout crazy.
- 18:15Speaker 2: To me.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Also, the offensive line, you know, I think it's going
- 18:18Speaker 4: to be at least marginally better on the interior and
- 18:22Speaker 4: had they been marginally better on the interior last year.
- 18:24Speaker 4: I think it's a completely different record at the end
- 18:26Speaker 4: of the season, So there are signs to like to
- 18:29Speaker 4: get him better than my ten and seven prediction.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I think we're all a similar ballpark with the eleven
- 18:34Speaker 1: to six and ten and seven. For me, a lot
- 18:35Speaker 1: of it is winning the games you're supposed to win,
- 18:38Speaker 1: because I think some of these matchups they should win.
- 18:40Speaker 1: And then also, if we're talking about what you guys
- 18:42Speaker 1: are saying with Trevor Lawrence, he can win you football games.
- 18:45Speaker 1: If this is a toss up, coin flip game, he
- 18:46Speaker 1: can go out there and throw four touchdowns and win
- 18:49Speaker 1: you a football game, and that's gonna be huge for them.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Then also for me, when I looked back at the
- 18:53Speaker 1: season last year, nine and eight, in my mind, they're better,
- 18:56Speaker 1: and I know the schedule is harder, but I still
- 18:58Speaker 1: feel like just the talent that is avail them, and
- 19:00Speaker 1: then obviously all the ups and downs of the season
- 19:02Speaker 1: as they go along. If they can get through their
- 19:04Speaker 1: rough patch the beginning and their rough patch after London,
- 19:07Speaker 1: I'm feeling good.
- 19:08Speaker 4: One thing that's gotten lost too is this was not
- 19:11Speaker 4: a horrible team.
- 19:12Speaker 5: Last year.
- 19:13Speaker 4: This was a team that was eight and three and
- 19:14Speaker 4: then hit a skid when a lot of things went
- 19:18Speaker 4: wrong and they were injuries.
- 19:19Speaker 5: So I'm not.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Sure they have to get worlds better to be better
- 19:22Speaker 4: than they were last year. But they need to get
- 19:25Speaker 4: solidly better in some key areas, I would say, and.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Key areas being more physical, absolutely, yeah. And here's one
- 19:32Speaker 3: more thing.
- 19:32Speaker 5: They're being able to depend on what Yeah, and we're like.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Talking about Trevor so much, and which is you know,
- 19:38Speaker 3: that's the way it is. It's the National Football League,
- 19:40Speaker 3: and it's a quarterback dri of the league. But if
- 19:42Speaker 3: this team can get more physical on both sides of
- 19:45Speaker 3: the ball and run the football with both running backs,
- 19:48Speaker 3: Tank Bigs be a etn boy, it makes it a
- 19:51Speaker 3: lot easier for everything else to work when you have
- 19:54Speaker 3: that going.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:56Speaker 4: And if you feel better, Jeff about that area through
- 19:59Speaker 4: the first four weeks, even no matter what the record is,
- 20:02Speaker 4: if you feel better about what you're talking about, I
- 20:05Speaker 4: think they're a playoff team because it's I think over time,
- 20:08Speaker 4: what Jeff's talking about is what completely waylaid the season
- 20:11Speaker 4: last year.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Something to keep an eye on. In that opener against Miami,

- 21:11Speaker 1: and then one of the smaller places.
- 21:12Speaker 2: And that's funny, it's adorable.
- 21:14Speaker 3: You got two guys that are from very different backgrounds
- 21:18Speaker 3: and very different sizes in their buddies.
- 21:21Speaker 2: That's kind of cool.
- 21:21Speaker 5: That's a cool story. And the way it looks both
- 21:23Speaker 5: could be here for a while.
- 21:24Speaker 3: And the good thing is is both of them are
- 21:27Speaker 3: think are barely legal one. I think both are years
- 21:31Speaker 3: old and both recently turned it.
- 21:33Speaker 2: I mean very young.
- 21:34Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe, I don't know.
