- 1:05Hello and welcome back to the Arise Women of God podcast.
- 1:09I'm your host, Tamara K.
- 1:11Anderson, and today we are looking at the Bible through a new lens.
- 1:16Not through the beautiful poetry, but we're looking for tactical specific scriptures we can read when we are under a spiritual attack.
- 1:25So let's look at how we build our home's defensive walls.
- 1:29When you feel like the adversary is clawing at your front door, you can legally lay down God's boundary lines.
- 1:36Read these specific four verses in your home.
- 1:40First, Psalm 91, verses 11 and 12.
- 1:44For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
- 1:51They shall bear thee up with their hands.
- 1:54This, my friends, is not just a metaphor.
- 1:57You can call on God to dispatch angels to help you.
- 2:01Invite them in to strengthen and protect you and each of your family members.
- 2:08The command to ask and ye shall receive applies to this verse every time.
- 2:13Ask for angels from heaven and you will receive.
- 2:18Next, follow it with 2nd Thessalonians, chapter 3, verse 3, which reads, but the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you and keep you from evil.
- 2:29Read that aloud and claim its promise.
- 2:33Third, open to Proverbs, chapter 18, verse 10, which says, the name of the Lord is a strong tower.
- 2:42The righteous runneth into it and is safe.
- 2:46Invoke the name of Jesus Christ as your strong tower.
- 2:51Jesus is my strong tower, and I will rest in him and not be afraid and cast out the adversary.
- 2:59Get thee hence, right?
- 3:01Finally, we're going to look at the historical significance of the fourth verse.
- 3:05I'm going to share with you.
- 3:06In Zechariah, chapter 2, verse 5, the prophet Zechariah was watching a man go out to physically measure Jerusalem, to rebuild its stone walls.
- 3:18But the Lord stopped him and declared.
- 3:21For I saith the Lord Will be unto her a wall of fire round about and will be the glory in the midst of her.
- 3:32My friends, in ancient times and a city without physical stone walls was completely defenseless against midnight intruders.
- 3:42But God was basically telling them, I am going to be that supernatural wall of fire that consumes any intruder before they touch my people.
- 3:53Pray this verse over your household, and as you do, you are claiming a literal wall of Fort fire around you and your family, your vehicles, your property lines.
- 4:06The darkness cannot pass through a boundary wrapped by God's glory.
- 4:13All right, next, let's tackle the mind swords and absolute authority.
- 4:18Once your perimeter is secure, you kind of have to clean up the warfare raging in our minds, which is where the most hard battles are waged.
- 4:28When anxiety, depression, or sudden terror hits your child, you need to open your mouth and deploy these powerful mind swords.
- 4:37Pull out second Timothy, chapter one, verse seven, which says, for God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
- 4:48Notice that the text calls it a spirit of fear.
- 4:53It is an external entity trying to disrupt your biological peace and you, my friend, have the power to cast it out.
- 5:03Follow that immediately with Isaiah, chapter 41, verse 10, which is a favorite.
- 5:08Fear thou not, for I am with thee.
- 5:11Be not dismayed, for I am thy God.
- 5:14I will strengthen thee, yea, I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
- 5:22These are powerful words to speak speak when we are battling fear.
- 5:27They remind us that our strength comes from God and he will not leave us unprotected nor undefended.
- 5:36When your teenagers feel targeted by peer pressure culture or the whispering lies of the devil telling them that they are not good enough, have them read Deuteronomy, chapter 31, verse 6, which says, Be strong and of a good
- 5:51courage.
- 5:52Fear not nor be afraid of them.
- 5:55For the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go down with thee.
- 5:59He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
- 6:04That is powerful to remember that God is with us no matter what, and that he won't fail us.
- 6:10When we may feel like we're standing alone, then look at James chapter four, verse seven, which gives us a powerful blueprint.
- 6:18Submit yourselves therefore to God.
- 6:21Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
- 6:24Wow, look at that powerful three point formula.
- 6:27First, submit to God, yoke yourself to Him.
- 6:31Second, resist the devil.
- 6:33The word resist in the original language meant aggressively stand against.
- 6:40You are not begging Satan to leave, you are commanding him to leave.
- 6:45And then the devil will flee from us.
- 6:47For as it says in Romans 8:31, if God be for us, who can be against us?
- 6:54In Revelations 12:11 it says, we overcome the adversary by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony.
- 7:04There are times when I feel doubts coming into my mind and I bear testimony.
- 7:10I know Jesus lives.
- 7:13I know he loves me.
- 7:16I am a daughter of God.
- 7:18I am a warrior of light.
- 7:20I speak those truths of testimony and they cast out the lies.
- 7:27Let's wrap it up by talking about the shepherd's slingshot and taking a look at the story of David and Goliath in First Samuel chapter 17.
- 7:36Here in this story, a massive, weaponized nine and a half foot giant who was quite a bully was standing in the battle battlefield yelling shaming threats to the Israelites every single day, paralyzing them with fear.
- 7:52King Saul himself was terrified.
- 7:54But then young David stepped up to volunteer to fight this giant.
- 7:59Saul tried to convince David to wear his massive armor.
- 8:02To protect himself, David put it on.
- 8:04He told the king, I cannot go down with these, for I have not proved them.
- 8:09David took off the armor and instead went down to a brook and where he chose five smooth stones and he put them in his shepherd's bag and took along his trusty slingshot.
- 8:21He came with what he had unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and the simple tools he had proven time and time again as a shepherd to protect his flock from the lion and the bear.
- 8:34When he reached the battlefield, Goliath mocked him.
- 8:37But David didn't rely on any physical weapons or human strength.
- 8:42He opened his mouth in 1st Samuel, chapter 17, verse 45, and boldly declared, thou comest to me with a sword and with a spear and with a shield, but I come to thee in the name of the Lord
- 8:57of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
- 9:04Ooh.
- 9:04I would have loved to have peeked down from heaven and seen this beautiful scene unfold.
- 9:09Sisters, your household demons may look like nine foot giants right now.
- 9:15Maybe it's a pornography addiction, the severe clinical diagnosis of ocd, or the giant of crushing depression that is threatening to destroy you or your children's future.
- 9:27When you look at those giants, pray and ask for guidance.
- 9:33Sometimes God will lead you to other tested strategies, maybe from a friend or a professional.
- 9:39So something that feels right.
- 9:41Find what works uniquely for you and your children and use it.
- 9:46Gather your own five smooth stones.
- 9:49If one of your stones is a specific 15 minute morning devotional routine at breakfast time, use it.
- 9:57If your smooth stone is a quiet, audible prayer over a child's door frame at midnight.
- 10:03Use it.
- 10:04God will inspire your strategy.
- 10:07Seek and ye shall find.
- 10:10Knock and it shall be opened unto you.
- 10:12For every one that seeketh findeth, and unto him that knocks, it shall be opened with the Lord of Hosts at your side.
- 10:21Nothing is indeed impossible, my friends.
- 10:25The written word of God is not a passive shield.
- 10:29It is an active living force.
- 10:32The moment you open your mouth, read these verses in your kitchen to your children.
- 10:37The enemy's giants will fall.
