  Speaker 2: but no, everything's good. Man Mobile's done a really good job.

  Speaker 2: We just saw Drew Fabiani Che's I feel like they've

  Speaker 2: Bowl on and first class, first class effort, first class

  Speaker 2: every everything. And uh, the players really showed it. I said,

  Speaker 2: a lot of energy at practice, so excited to start

  Speaker 5: I enjoy the one on ones. I enjoyed, like you said,

  Speaker 2: watched everything. I watched a lot of the one on

  Speaker 2: one pass rushes. I watched the one on one like
• 3:50
  Speaker 2: routes receivers versus defensive backs. I was thinking the same
• 3:54
  Speaker 2: thing too, Like a guy went up yesterday made a
• 3:57
  Speaker 2: great catch, great catch right over somebody. Who is it
• 4:02
  Speaker 2: our receiver from John Carroll. Oh yeah, so Tyren Montgomery,

  Speaker 2: wide receiver from John Carroll College, because that's a college.

  Speaker 2: He was out there, made some really good plays yesterday.

  Speaker 2: But the last play of actual practice, he goes up
• 4:18
  Speaker 2: and headtops and some guy catches over it. And I

  Speaker 2: was like, man, that's a great play for him, But

  Speaker 2: my god, like the other guy's got to be I

  Speaker 2: hope he gets I hope he gets a good rep back,

  Speaker 2: you know what I mean. So it's just one of

  Speaker 2: those deals. It's only the strong survived type of deal,

  Speaker 2: and it is we talked about it yesterday. This is

  Speaker 2: these guys are really trying to make a name for themselves,

  Speaker 2: and these coaches and scouts and gms, they're looking for
• 4:40
  Speaker 2: people to stick out in a positive way. But they
• 4:43
  Speaker 2: are looking for every reason to not draft you. They're
• 4:46
  Speaker 2: looking for every reason to scratch you off their list
• 4:50
  Speaker 2: so they can start narrowing, so they can stop wasting time.

  Speaker 2: So don't give him that reason. That's what the that's
• 4:55
  Speaker 2: the stress that each one of these players is carrying
• 4:58
  Speaker 2: all week. Whether that's in the meeting rooms that's, whether
• 5:00
  Speaker 2: it's showing up on time that's, whether it's in the hotel,
• 5:02
  Speaker 2: the way they act, the way they communicate with when
• 5:04
  Speaker 2: they're going to like the children's hospital, and doing all
• 5:07
  Speaker 2: the things out in the community, how they act in
• 5:09
  Speaker 2: their interviews, certainly their measurements and all the physical skill sets,
• 5:14
  Speaker 2: and of course the most important part on the practice field.
• 5:17
  Speaker 2: So it's a lot of stress that they carry. But
• 5:19
  Speaker 2: what an opportunity it is for each one of them.
• 5:23
  Speaker 5: I've told stories like this before, and I can't remember
• 5:26
  Speaker 5: if we've talked about it since you've been on the show, Matt,
• 5:28
  Speaker 5: But so Mark Dominic, who used to be the GM
• 5:31
  Speaker 5: for the Tampa Bay Bucks. He used to come here
• 5:33
  Speaker 5: and it would be me him enduring. I think that
• 5:37
  Speaker 5: would do the shows immobile. We'd also do the draft
• 5:39
  Speaker 5: and he would tell stories because he was a GM
• 5:43
  Speaker 5: of how like to your point, they would try.

  Speaker 3: To get guys to mess up? He said, we bring

  Speaker 3: a guy in for a visit.

  Speaker 5: We had this club across from the hotel that we

  Speaker 5: put him in, and we put the guys on the

  Speaker 5: first floor right across from the club, and they could

  Speaker 5: dress one of our scouts as a waiter, and we

  Speaker 5: would have our waiter kind of bring him the wrong

  Speaker 5: food or maybe spill some water on him and see

  Speaker 5: how he reacts. I was like, well, what are you

  Speaker 5: looking for if he brings him the wrong food or like,
• 6:25
  Speaker 5: all right, well how does he handle it? Because there's
• 6:27
  Speaker 5: a couple of ways you can mess that up. Are
• 6:28
  Speaker 5: you incredibly rude to the person. Do you not say anything?
• 6:31
  Speaker 5: And if you don't say anything, that's the wrong answer too.

  Speaker 5: It's like I was like, are you serious, Like oh,
• 6:36
  Speaker 5: it's like absolutely, Like so they put you in situations
• 6:39
  Speaker 5: like that to see if you're going to fail before
• 6:42
  Speaker 5: you even talk about the actual game of football.

  Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, if you go to kick a lot of

  Speaker 2: ass on the field, they'll they can they'll probably overlook

  Speaker 2: you talking bad to the waiter. Yeah, if you go,

  Speaker 2: and but you got to really set yourself apart.

  Speaker 2: I heard stories too, whether it's the combine or whether

  Speaker 2: they brought people in, and they do this a lot

  Speaker 2: in free agency, I think as well. I don't know

  Speaker 2: kind of out. Yeah. Uh. And I've also heard this

  Speaker 2: technique and like job interviews, they like set you up,

  Speaker 2: I mean, and you come into the office get ready,

  Speaker 2: and they make you wait for like an hour, Yeah,

  Speaker 2: just to like see how you handle just waiting and

  Speaker 2: sitting there. Just some some mental tactics. So it's it's

  Speaker 2: just an interesting how all these people, all these scouts,
• 7:24
  Speaker 2: you know, there's a lot of scouts have been doing
• 7:25
  Speaker 2: a long time, a lot of newbies, they're all finding
• 7:28
  Speaker 2: their way, and these scouts are trying to work up
• 7:31
  Speaker 2: the ladder to they want to all be gms as well,
• 7:33
  Speaker 2: so they're trying to find their niche on how to
• 7:36
  Speaker 2: pick and choose. And you got so many. Like you
• 7:38
  Speaker 2: go out and watch practice yesterday. Everybody's talented, right, everybody's good.

  Speaker 2: So you have to find the little things that stick
• 7:46
  Speaker 2: out and little things that set somebody apart, because it's
• 7:50
  Speaker 2: something that is super tiny can make the difference between
• 7:54
  Speaker 2: third and sixth round, right, because like you go and
• 7:57
  Speaker 2: watch practice, it's like you gotta look, you gotta watch
• 8:00
  Speaker 2: with a really high level microscope to try to say, well,
• 8:03
  Speaker 2: that guy is definitely better than him, and a lot
• 8:05
  Speaker 2: of people get opportunity. That's kind of like in competitions,
• 8:08
  Speaker 2: like you can't judge anything off of just one or
• 8:10
  Speaker 2: two practices because a quarterback throws it deep. My complete
• 8:14
  Speaker 2: two deep balls in a practice. It happened in the
• 8:18
  Speaker 2: morning practice. I think Pavia completed a deep pass, called
• 8:20
  Speaker 2: Payton completed a deep path. Now Drew Altmier didn't. So
• 8:24
  Speaker 2: like if you're judging at home and like you're just watching, well,
• 8:27
  Speaker 2: Drew Almyer didn't complete a deep pass. Luke Aalmer, I know,
• 8:31
  Speaker 2: sort of.

  Speaker 3: Said you just combining Drew Aller and Louke Alt.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll get it. But if you go back and

  Speaker 2: watch the tape, it's like, well, he might not have

  Speaker 2: had that opportunity. There might not have been anybody open.

  Speaker 2: it did for the other two. Now that's why you

  Speaker 2: stack practices on top of each other to see how

  Speaker 2: you know, the next day he might get a little

  Speaker 2: bit of better, better opportunity. So anyway, it's it's a

  Speaker 2: tough job for certainly these scouts, but a lot of

  Speaker 2: pressure and a lot.

  Speaker 5: Of big opportunity for each one of these kids, a

  Speaker 5: couple of like different standout positions. I actually thought the

  Speaker 5: quarterback group in the second practice as a whole, I

  Speaker 5: thought all three of those guys looked really good, and
• 9:17
  Speaker 5: obviously Garry Nessmeyer was a part of that group. I

  Speaker 5: thought Taylen Green had a nice day, and I was
• 9:21
  Speaker 5: kind of worried, like under center had done a whole
• 9:25
  Speaker 5: lot of that. He's six', six is he gonna be
• 9:27
  Speaker 5: able to get down there and still do some of the.

  Speaker 3: Things so he was a pleasant surprise for.

  Speaker 5: Me BUT i did think the afternoon quarterbacks had a

  Speaker 5: little bit of a better day. Overall But i'll get

  Speaker 5: the quarterbacks credit. Here last year they had to stop
