- Lisa French: I standing in Walmart laughing at myself, picturing taking an Uber from one car lot to another. I'd moved to Florida in my RV and left my car in Iowa. Now I needed someone to take me car shopping. Before I'd even left the store, a friend had messaged me with a connection to someone here who could help. Things like that kept happening during those first months, maybe even a year I was here in Florida. I was having the time of my life. And I began recognizing something that Dr. Joe Dispenza teaches. Getting into the emotional state before the manifestation happens. I felt like I was accidentally living it. But about six months earlier, while I was still back in Iowa, I had been in a funk. ⁓ Recognizing that I didn't feel like myself led me to take basically an inventory of my life. Today I'm sharing how Abraham Hicks and Dr. Joe shaped my understanding, what I experienced after that move, and where to begin when your own life feels stagnant. I also have a link in the description to a free guide on visualization, which is one of the main methods I use to manifest. Welcome to In the Driver's Seat. I am Lisa French. Last week I shared my experience of feeling happy before a manifestation happened. That emotional state is such an important part of making manifestations happen, the ones you want to happen. Today I want to go deeper into how I came to recognize that in my own life. Everything for me started with reading this book, Ask and It Is Given by Abraham Hicks. This book opened the door to learning about manifestation and law of attraction. Then Dr. Joe Dispenza took me deeper with his explanations of the science behind it and why it happens. The part that became so clear to me through my own experiences was the emotion. I had read about it, I'd heard it explained, then I found myself living in this high. heightened state of absolute bliss with things happening around me that felt magical. I started recognizing the connection between what I was learning and what I was experiencing. And to explain that, I'd like to back up to before Florida. I've always been a pretty joyful, sunshiny, sparkly person. I have a positive attitude. I smile at people. I'm kind. That's just my normal personality. But that last winter for me in Iowa, I was in a funk. Just felt absolutely blah. I didn't feel like doing normal things like with my friends. Then I recognized that I was not feeling my normal self. You know your own normal. You know how you tend to feel when you're interested in your life. When you've got something to look forward to, when you feel engaged and I'm just lit up. And I could tell that I was off track. Because I had already been learning about how important our energy and emotions are, I really am dialed into how I'm feeling. So I started taking inventory of my life. What was going on? What was contributing to this feeling? How was I going to get from that kind of lower energy to where I wanted to be in life? Work was part of that. I was feeling stagnant. There wasn't any more upward movement available to me. And I didn't have those next goals to reach for. Those type of things really mattered to me. Having something to look forward to in the future, something I wanted to create or experience was important to how I felt about my life. So this became a bigger examination. I was looking at my work, my surroundings, my friends, my goals, and what I wanted my life to look like going forward. There were several things coming together. The mood grabbed my attention and then I started looking at all the circumstances behind it. For me, that examination eventually led to the choice to move from Iowa to Florida. And when I arrived here my gosh. I was exploring. Everything was fresh and new. I was meeting new people. I was living near the most beautiful beach I've ever seen in my life. I was also proud of myself. I had made this happen. I had done it on my own. There was so much happiness wrapped up in being here and knowing that I had followed through on something that I wanted. I've described it as my normal, joyful personality on steroids because I really don't know how else to explain the intensity of it. As I said, I was already a happy person. I had experienced manifestations before. But this was an extraordinary level of happiness. I was having the time of my life. I didn't have to think about getting into an elevated emotion. I was there. And that's when things began just falling into my lap right when I needed them. One of the first experiences happened a couple days after I arrived. I had driven down here in my RV and left my car back in Iowa for my brother to sell. My plan was to buy a car once I got to Florida. But after I arrived, I needed food and other things for the RV, and of course I needed a beach chair for my beach days. So I took an Uber to Walmart. While I was shopping, I started thinking about how taking an Uber everywhere was going to be hugely inconvenient and that getting a car needed to be one of my top priorities. But then I wondered, how am I going to do that? I didn't know anyone here. So who was going to take me car shopping? I pictured myself taking an Uber to a car lot, walking around looking at cars, probably not Finding what I wanted, and then having to call Uber to come get me again to take me to the next car lot. The picture of it all in my head just made me laugh because it was very ridiculous. But I didn't start worrying about it. I was just amused at that point about the situation I was in. And I hadn't even left Walmart when I saw an old friend had messaged me. I'd known him for a long time because he was a videographer in racing and he had told a friend of his here about me. His friend had asked him to pass along his phone number and tell me that if I needed anything to let him know. I figured they were probably around the same age, so I asked whether his friend was retired. He said yes. Perfect. Because I needed someone to take me car shopping. Here was someone that knew the area, could take me to different car lots, and help me find a car to buy. That whole situation was taken care of before I even left the store. I had recognized the need, I laughed about the logistics, and then I received a message that connected me to the help I needed. That was one of those experiences where I thought this is awesome. absolutely a manifestation. An instant manifestation. Another big manifestation happened in May of 2019. I'd arrived in Florida in September 2018, so I'd been here about eight months. One of my best friends from Iowa was going to be visiting her father-in-law in Florida, just south of Tampa. She was going to be there around her birthday and was hoping that I would come down and visit. I wanted to see her, so I started looking at flights. I remember they were around $400 or so, but they weren't a direct flight from here to Tampa. I was going to have to have a layover like in Atlanta or Charlotte and then on to Tampa. So basically by the time I added it up, I was looking at something like seven hours of travel, which was the same amount of time it would take me to drive there. I'd be spending more money to fly and wasn't going to gain anything time wise. So driving obviously made more sense. But everyone kept telling me how terrible the drive was. You know how that goes, you start mentioning your plan. Everybody has a story about how it's going to be so miserable. But I decided I was going to try to make it fun. I put something on Facebook asking for road trip snack ideas or songs for a playlist. If I was going to be in the car that long, I wanted to enjoy myself. The night before I was supposed to leave, I got invited to a business networking gathering. The person who had invited me had been here with a law firm doing post hurricane work. A category five hurricane had hit Panama City. five weeks after I had moved here and there was a lot of recovery work still going on. He was getting different people together and asked me to come. My first thought was the timing was not great. I had to leave early the next morning and I was going to lose an hour crossing from the central to eastern time zone. I could tell he was disappointed when I said I didn't think I was going to make it. Then I thought, well I do need to go get gas So maybe I'll just go for a little while and I just won't stay out long. When I got to the restaurant, he was teasing me about what was so important that I wasn't going to come. And I told him about the trip. I'd already mentioned it to him before because their law firm was in Tampa and I was heading south of there. Of course, he started telling me how bad the drive was gonna be. Yes. Everybody keeps telling me. Then his eyes got really big and he said, Well, why don't you just fly on our plane tomorrow? Really? An attorney there s agreed. He said, Yeah, you should just come with us. The man who invited me explained that he was supposed to go, but he was going to stay a couple more days, so I could just take his seat on the plane. And that's how I ended up. with a private flight to Tamba. I went to the executive airport, no TSA line, no paid airport parking. Just show up, get on the plane, and go. And they flew me back the following Monday too, which worked out perfectly for when I needed to return. There were smaller experiences throughout that time too. I went to an event where a business involved in a hurricane recovery had tables set up, roofers, tree removal companies, public adjusters, you know, those kind of businesses. I was there on behalf of a business that I was helping at the time, and I met a representative from the law firm that was having the event. They were giving away a solar power bank as a door prize. And she told me be sure and sign up. And when I signed up, I had this immediate feeling I'm going to win this. And I did. At another event that was for a charity organization, a friend had bought several fifty fifty tickets, but she needed to leave before the drawing happened. She asked a group of us if someone would hold her tickets in case she had won. And I had this intuition, like I heard it she's going to win. So I said, I'll take them for you. Sure enough, one of her tickets was the winner. And when I gave her The winnings, she gave me half. I don't remember the exact amount now. I think she won a little over three hundred dollars. So my share was around a hundred and fifty. That was an unexpected gift holding onto her tickets. Those experiences were part of a whole season of my life. There were practical needs being met, unexpected opportunities, prizes, and those moments of knowing that still stand out in my mind. And underneath all of it, I was so happy. I don't remember one particular moment when I made the connection to Dr. Joe's teaching. It was more of that these experiences kept getting my attention. I knew what I had been learning about emotion, and I recognized that I was living that emotional state naturally. For me, that became the difference maker. I experienced it as a catalyst that made the manifestations happen faster, sometimes almost instantaneously. Those experiences deepened something I had begun learning through Abraham Hicks and Dr. Joe. Their explanations helped me make sense of what I was seeing in my own life. When I look back though, there's another part of this that really sticks out. I paid attention when I felt blah in Iowa. I examined my life and made decisions about what I really wanted. Then I followed through. The pride, excitement, and freshness I felt in Florida came from living the life I'd chosen to create. There's also the question of everything that's happening around us. You can look at the headlines and think, how am I supposed to feel happy with all of this going on? There are heartbreaking things in the world that We care about people. We care about what happens to them. And there are situations where we can help through our actions, our time, our resources, the choices we make. There are also things we won't be able to change by worrying about them all day. I think we have to recognize what's within our reach. Care about what matters to you. Take meaningful action where you're able. Then Pay attention to what's happening in your own orbit too. The people you're with, the choices you're making, the way you're spending today, the life you want to create. So if you've been feeling unlike yourself lately, begin with one area of your life. Ask yourself, what's contributing to the way I feel here? Then what do I want to move forward? And finally, What's one choice I can make that supports that? I still look back at that first year here as truly magical. I loved the beach, the newness, the people, and the fact that I made this happen. And I loved all the surprises. I'd gone to Walmart for food, things for the RB, and a beach chair. Somewhere in that shopping trip, I also found a connection to someone who could take me car shopping. Life kept giving me experiences that helped me understand what my teachers had been talking about. I am grateful for those teachings and I'm grateful that I paid attention when I recognized that I wanted something more for my life. Thank you for spending this time with me.
