- 0:35Speaker 3: Okay, today is an absolutely crazy day.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I am here with the Justice Warriors.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I have Alexander Nunes, marisa McMacintyre, sabrina Soudin and Sarah Murphy Dyson joining me.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Hello all, how are you all?
- 0:55Speaker 4: Good, good, thanks for having us.
- 1:00Speaker 5: I'm going to try not to talk over everyone.
- 1:03Speaker 4: We're all so polite.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Oh, we're going to hold a Canadian card, right?
- 1:08Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:09Speaker 3: All right, so we are all Canadians.
- 1:12Speaker 3: So what I am doing is I am drinking a mulsun today during the podcast.
- 1:21Speaker 3: I guess I'll start with that.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Who mulsun the bats?
- 1:27Speaker 3: Go ahead, marisa.
- 1:30Speaker 5: Oh, I don't know I'm going to sound so obnoxious right now, but I'm like a craft microbully kind of gal.
- 1:40Speaker 3: That's why you're not a Marisa.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Right, You're Marisa because you do crafts.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Hello.
- 1:44Speaker 5: I was doing a show in Regina and there was nothing else to do but drink beer.
- 1:49Speaker 5: And I drank some beer that was like it had like the longest name on the planet, like girl jumps over the moon at midnight or something, and it was delicious and it converted me and now that's all I did.
- 1:58Speaker 5: And then where do you get it?
- 1:59Speaker 3: at you don't see that.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Do you still Well?
- 2:04Speaker 5: now there's.
- 2:04Speaker 5: Now I've moved on from girl jumps over the moon at midnight to like less lesser craft.
- 2:11Speaker 3: So, as I told you guys before, I grew up in Canada when I was little and the one thing I do remember is going with my parents to like you had to go to like the liquor barn thing where they would order their beer and it'd come out in this like little conveyor belt thing.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Is that still how you get like beer and stuff like that in Canada, or have you moved on?
- 2:33Speaker 4: The beer store yeah.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yeah, the beer store has like conveyor belts.
- 2:36Speaker 2: But like, isn't it just like a big refrigerator room with like stacks of beer and you, just like I know they have the belts?
- 2:44Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Can you?
- 2:46Speaker 3: Can you just go to the grocery store and get it, or do you have to?
- 2:51Speaker 4: No you can get a lot.
- 2:53Speaker 5: You can get a lot.
- 2:54Speaker 5: You can get craft beer at the grocery, at the fancy grocery stores.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and.
- 2:58Speaker 2: I think you can get wine at certain grocery stores in Ontario at least.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Every province has like a different thing.
- 3:08Speaker 6: Okay, quebec, you can get it anyway.
- 3:09Speaker 6: Quebec, it's like the corners of the town.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Well, that's because Quebec's its own like little universe right.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Is that even in Canada?
- 3:19Speaker 3: Okay, all right.
- 3:22Speaker 3: We are going to start with a little quiz, and it is all based on Canadians, and so first it is going to be who is the best Canadian actor Michael J Fox, rachel McAdams, william Shatner or Keanu Reeves, sabrina?
- 3:41Speaker 4: Rachel McAdams.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Alexander.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Rachel Rachel.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Sorry, I didn't mean to cut you off, Sabrina.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Oh, no, no no, why, why why?
- 3:53Speaker 2: why, rachel?
- 3:53Speaker 2: Oh my God, come on the notebook.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Have you even seen the audition alone?
- 3:59Speaker 2: The audition alone.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Listen, like love Keanu forever.
- 4:05Speaker 2: He's so great Favorite action star, super polite, but like the levels that Rachel McAdams goes on any given project.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that's my.
- 4:17Speaker 2: That's my answer, sarah.
- 4:21Speaker 6: So Michael J Fox will always be close to my heart and, like you know, alex P Keaton was one of my early crushes not to date myself too much, but I you know Rachel, I've been with her all the way through, you know, from the beginning, and she has.
- 4:35Speaker 6: She's done everything.
- 4:36Speaker 6: She can do anything.
- 4:37Speaker 6: I am slightly obsessed with Rachel McAdams and I used to go see, I used to work with David Rotenberg and she was a student of his and he would always talk oh, rachel used to do this, rachel used to do that.
- 4:47Speaker 6: It was like yeah, it's coming right.
- 4:49Speaker 3: It seems like you should hate her then by.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Come on, marisa, how about you?
- 4:53Speaker 3: Is it a clean sweep or do you have one of the others?
- 4:56Speaker 5: Honestly.
- 4:57Speaker 5: Okay, I love me Rachel.
- 4:59Speaker 5: She can't, I can't deny.
- 5:00Speaker 5: But I wouldn't say she's like my favorite Canadian act, like there's.
- 5:03Speaker 5: I just think there's some other like I really loved half of my hair off.
- 5:07Speaker 3: She wasn't on the list.
- 5:09Speaker 5: I know.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Is a craft beer.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 5:12Speaker 5: I'm saying like out of those exactly.
- 5:14Speaker 5: I'm like well, but so I'd say I'll clean sweep with Rachel out of the choices.
- 5:18Speaker 5: But I just like side.
- 5:20Speaker 5: I'd give it a side of Catherine O'Hara on Chinscray, because this is Because, in reality, there are a gazillion obviously Canadian, Canadian actors and stuff.
- 5:30Speaker 2: So I was just kind of narrow it down.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Okay, now we're going to go on to the best Canadian singer Celine Dion, justin Bieber, avril Lavigne or Drake.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Okay, so you get to start again.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Not Drake, drake.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Okay, I shouldn't.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Should I throw a new new tongue?
- 5:48Speaker 3: Speak your truth.
- 5:50Speaker 3: You can say Okay my truth.
- 5:53Speaker 5: My truth is Drake.
- 5:55Speaker 5: I don't think he's a good singer, Like I saw a concert and dude was pitchy as.
- 5:59Speaker 5: So I don't like talented guy really good actor too, but like singer, Okay I think it's Celine, I think of the four of you, who actually is a actual singer.
- 6:13Speaker 6: Lisa big.
- 6:15Speaker 3: So okay, that's why you're throwing out the page.
- 6:19Speaker 5: All right, yeah, I'm going to say Celine is an icon.
- 6:21Speaker 5: She's at that list, she's.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Sabrina, who's who do you pick from the list?
- 6:28Speaker 4: Well, honestly, like I was a huge believer, jonah, but I do think he's like a very talented musician.
- 6:38Speaker 4: He's a great singer.
- 6:39Speaker 4: He plays like many instruments, but Celine Dion's voice is just out of this world.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Super, super, super, super talented singer.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Sarah.
- 6:51Speaker 6: I'm married to a guy from Quebec and, yeah, it's so in I, it's so in all the way for me.
- 6:59Speaker 5: It says it right.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I, okay, I want to.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I want to say Celine.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I wasn't a.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I didn't know much about her until she had this concert in Toronto a few years ago and it like changed my life.
- 7:14Speaker 2: So I, okay, I think I'll say her for the vocals alone.
- 7:18Speaker 2: I have to give Avril Lavigne second place, because I just recently had like an early odds playlist listen and oh my God, what was that song?
- 7:30Speaker 2: Anyway, girlfriend.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Whatever like the one thing.
- 7:37Speaker 2: No, complicated, complicated.
- 7:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Complicated.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:42Speaker 2: That song's of the 2000s, so I have to give her a second.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Anyway, I just get that.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Alright, too much, too much group thing.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Come on, where's the individuality?
- 7:52Speaker 3: Alright, we're going.
- 7:54Speaker 5: I basically said that Drake can't sing.
- 7:56Speaker 5: I'm going to get.
- 7:57Speaker 5: If anyone listens to this, we're never going to be friends.
- 8:00Speaker 2: So, yeah, well, I'll say by full chest, I'm, I'm a little.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I need a break from Drake and he's not a singer.
- 8:07Speaker 3: You know what I?
- 8:08Speaker 4: heard yeah, he's a rapper.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Well performer.
- 8:11Speaker 3: I guess I heard Celine actually lip syncs it all and she's not the real singer.
- 8:19Speaker 5: I mean when you're doing like a Las Vegas, you know when you're, when you're there every night doing eight yeah, residency eight shows a week.
- 8:28Speaker 5: And she got just got diagnosed recently and, like girl, deserves a lip sync once in a while.
- 8:33Speaker 3: I will say I was always really against her.
- 8:36Speaker 3: I found her really annoying.
- 8:38Speaker 3: But I have come around and I was just when I was driving home to get ready for this.
- 8:44Speaker 3: What's her like real famous song?
- 8:46Speaker 3: The baby, baby, whatever that one.
- 8:51Speaker 3: I actually turned it up and was like alright, I guess I'm totally, I'm totally converted.
- 8:56Speaker 3: So all my friends grown up because I'm I'm older, so I'm like all into late seventies, like early eighties, punk kind of stuff.
- 9:05Speaker 3: So Celine Deans coming out, that's kind of like shame.
- 9:09Speaker 5: but she's really not your style.
- 9:10Speaker 5: That's fair.
- 9:11Speaker 5: That's totally fair.
- 9:13Speaker 2: What about her song you and I are meant to fly, which was used by Air Canada back in the day?
- 9:20Speaker 2: That was, you know, you guys remember that one.
- 9:23Speaker 2: It was like oh man, oh man.
- 9:24Speaker 2: You never Okay Anyway that's um.
- 9:32Speaker 4: No, I'm sorry.
- 9:34Speaker 2: I, uh, I everyone check it out, he's trying to get bonus points.
- 9:40Speaker 5: In the ad or something.
- 9:41Speaker 5: How do you know that?
- 9:43Speaker 2: It's in this, it's in the.
- 9:44Speaker 2: It was in the like the safety procedure.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Ads or not an ad?
- 9:49Speaker 2: It was in like the safety video, it was all like when you're on the plane.
- 9:53Speaker 2: It was on the plane, yeah, anyway he's Alex is just a big deal.
- 10:00Speaker 5: He flies a lot, so he gets he just like catches all these little nuances.
- 10:06Speaker 3: He's not.
- 10:06Speaker 3: He's not flying on the spirit airlines with the doors flying off, or whoever.
- 10:11Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Because, there can't be so much better.
- 10:16Speaker 3: All right, what is the best?
- 10:19Speaker 3: Poutine, tim Horton's, ketchup fries, butter tarts.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Sarah, you get to go first.
- 10:26Speaker 6: Put in.
- 10:26Speaker 6: They don't need it.
- 10:29Speaker 6: And I get in trouble for saying it's tin.
- 10:32Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, I love it.
- 10:34Speaker 6: I love it.
- 10:35Speaker 6: I could eat it every day.
- 10:36Speaker 6: I love it.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Alexander, he's gone oh no, I turn my camera Um yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 3: We're one uping now.
- 10:50Speaker 3: No.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Sabrina, yeah.
- 10:57Speaker 4: I love me a good.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Or how I can't do it.
- 11:02Speaker 4: But that's like my favorite thing, but like butter tarts, oh my God, like, yeah, marie, so you get it, butter tarts Variety, because with poutine you have to have like a very specific fry, but I feel like butter tarts are always good, you know what I mean.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Oh, I don't know if.
- 11:25Speaker 4: I do with you there, girl, thank you.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Another reason, why not?
- 11:28Speaker 4: The reason why I was going to ask you as like you could raise it on there.
- 11:32Speaker 5: I don't think we could be friends.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Pretend those don't exist, Okay, but yeah, you know it's horrible, it just really hurts.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, those are out of the category.
- 11:43Speaker 5: We're not including raisins.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Okay, have you ever been?
- 11:45Speaker 5: There's a?
- 11:45Speaker 5: There's a butter tart festival.
- 11:46Speaker 5: This is how.
- 11:47Speaker 5: This is how hard I go into butter tarts as a butter tart festival, Little north of Toronto.
- 11:54Speaker 5: What is it?
- 11:55Speaker 5: It's in like Penetang machine or something, some small small town, and like Bikes and like sugar comas, but like real, real frigging good.
- 12:07Speaker 5: It's got to be perfect.
- 12:09Speaker 5: It's got to be gooey and mushy and the outside crust, If the outside crust is hard, it is done quickly.
- 12:16Speaker 5: They can go so wrong and I don't get you guys.
- 12:19Speaker 5: And you're put in.
- 12:20Speaker 5: You just mush up the fries.
- 12:22Speaker 5: The fries are supposed to be crunchy.
- 12:24Speaker 5: You put all that gravy on it and they're smooth, they're flabby.
- 12:29Speaker 4: Yeah, eat it fast.
- 12:30Speaker 6: Yeah, the currants maybe eat it fast.
- 12:32Speaker 5: They're still crunchy, okay so I've just been eating them wrong my whole life.
- 12:38Speaker 2: I think so.
- 12:38Speaker 2: That's a bad good thing.
- 12:42Speaker 5: I didn't.
- 12:42Speaker 5: I have bad kids.
- 12:43Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, okay, okay, I have bad skills.
- 12:47Speaker 5: I'm going to try it.
- 12:47Speaker 5: I'm going to try it again.
- 12:50Speaker 3: All right, we're moving on now.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Which Ryan Gosling or Reynolds Marisa?
- 12:56Speaker 5: I mean, Gosling is a close second, but I just, I love me some run.
- 13:00Speaker 5: I love his humor.
- 13:01Speaker 5: Alex.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Reynolds, because he does so much low key charity and like doesn't about it ever and he does like, so, so, so much to try to elevate young creatives in the industry and to try to give people chance, like he does so much more than anybody gives him credit for.
- 13:26Speaker 3: So, reynolds, yeah but you have good abs.
- 13:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:32Speaker 5: Also that and the hottest wife on the planet, sorry.
- 13:37Speaker 3: There's something to be said for that, sabrina, who are you taking which?
- 13:40Speaker 4: one, ryan Reynolds.
- 13:42Speaker 4: I know, I know I want to disagree.
- 13:51Speaker 6: I love them both, but I'm into a welcome to rexum now too.
- 13:55Speaker 6: So I'm just like it's oh my God, no, I can't, and yeah, no, he's so talented.
- 14:03Speaker 6: They're both very talented, but Reynolds yeah.
- 14:06Speaker 3: He's genius because he buys the soccer team so he can just promote all his other brands.
- 14:10Speaker 3: I know there and stuff like that.
- 14:13Speaker 6: And then they're like yeah, it's so cool, I love.
- 14:15Speaker 5: He's like, like Alex said, he's like really good at like like the stuff he doesn't talk about is really impressive, and then he's good at business and then he's a great actor, like I find him so entertaining and funny.
- 14:26Speaker 5: Is hard to do, man.
- 14:29Speaker 3: This isn't on there, but we'll, since you all did your clean sweep.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Then what's his best movie?
- 14:33Speaker 3: All right, we'll go with Alex.
- 14:36Speaker 3: You get to go first.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Oh, no, okay, well, this isn't.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I sorry I'm gonna say Deadpool and like.
- 14:44Speaker 2: That maybe is not a great answer, but it's what was in my head.
- 14:49Speaker 2: I feel like the character shouldn't work Ever, like it just shouldn't work.
- 14:54Speaker 2: And he does, and he makes it work and he makes it really funny and it's sort of one of the only superhero movies that has a sequel that I actually genuinely liked.
- 15:05Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Like I don't know that that's arena.
- 15:13Speaker 4: I have to agree with Alex.
- 15:15Speaker 4: I think it's because Deadpool was like the first superhero movie that I saw and I enjoyed and like I want to.
- 15:22Speaker 4: I think it was because of Ryan Reynolds, like I think that he made Deadpool what it is, like he was just perfect for it.
- 15:30Speaker 4: So I'm agreeing with Alex again.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Sarah.
- 15:36Speaker 6: I do love Deadpool.
- 15:37Speaker 6: I love Deadpool, but I also love La La Land, which is and it kind of speaks to his tales.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Like it's.
- 15:44Speaker 3: He's in La La Land.
- 15:45Speaker 2: That's Gosling, gosling.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I know what Reynolds you're voting for.
- 15:51Speaker 3: You're off the island, alright.
- 15:59Speaker 5: I think acting chops Deadpool I'm going to go with.
- 16:04Speaker 5: This is a really embarrassing thing to say as an actor, but I really love the proposal because I love.
- 16:09Speaker 5: Sandra.
- 16:09Speaker 5: Bullock.
- 16:10Speaker 5: That's the correct answer.
- 16:11Speaker 5: It's good old fashioned cheese and I'm a chick flick lady connoisseur.
- 16:18Speaker 5: I just love that stuff.
- 16:19Speaker 3: So Okay, the last, last of our Canadian questions.
- 16:24Speaker 3: What's the, what's the most Canadian?
- 16:27Speaker 3: The national anthem, your flag, mounties or Niagara Falls, serena?
- 16:36Speaker 4: Oh, what was the first option?
- 16:38Speaker 3: The national anthem.
- 16:40Speaker 4: Okay, I want to say Niagara Falls.
- 16:44Speaker 3: You're claiming it for Canada.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:46Speaker 3: I like it.
- 16:47Speaker 3: I think I am.
- 16:48Speaker 4: I think I am.
- 16:49Speaker 6: Yeah, let's see you guys agree with me here, sarah, you say me, um well, I definitely love Niagara Falls, but I think as far as Canadian I mean, it starts the anthem, starts old Canada.
- 17:04Speaker 6: So I kind of feel like the most Canadian thing would probably be that to me.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Marisa.
- 17:11Speaker 5: It was.
- 17:12Speaker 5: I need a refresher, it was okay.
- 17:14Speaker 3: The national anthem, the yeah okay, and a lag Mounties or Niagara Falls.
- 17:21Speaker 5: I would love to say Mounties, but that's just not the truth.
- 17:23Speaker 5: Um, I don't.
- 17:25Speaker 5: I don't even know why we like talk about them.
- 17:27Speaker 5: We have like three that walk around like in the city.
- 17:29Speaker 5: Sometimes it's just like it's just for tourists, Um, and you're like, what are they doing?
- 17:35Speaker 5: They just walk around for the tourist pictures.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Um, shit.
- 17:39Speaker 3: I didn't say, like, what's their actual job description?
- 17:41Speaker 3: It's just Canadian.
- 17:44Speaker 5: Yeah, but I'd say it'd be Canadian if there was more than like three of them Like I'm.
- 17:48Speaker 5: I'm totally wrong and something to be like.
- 17:49Speaker 5: There are actually 25 in each province and you're wrong, marisa, but I just never see them.
- 17:54Speaker 5: So, uh, I think I I honestly don't know if I would really connect any of those with like super Canadian.
- 18:06Speaker 5: Depends on what you mean by Canadian Canadian flag, I guess, because it's Canadian, or the anthem, but they don't feel like an eight Lee Canadian.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Sarah, save the day.
- 18:20Speaker 6: Well, I said anthem, but I was also thinking importance.
- 18:22Speaker 6: Maybe should have been in that list, because I feel like we all would have voted for 10.
- 18:25Speaker 3: None of you voted for it when I put it back in the category Cause the coffee is terrible now.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Oh is it.
- 18:34Speaker 5: Oh, they got.
- 18:34Speaker 5: They lost their.
- 18:35Speaker 5: Here's some trivia they lost their bean deal a couple of years ago.
- 18:39Speaker 5: They didn't renew their bean deal and McDonald's went in there and got their their coffee beans coffee bean deal and that's why McDonald's coffee is much better than important now, because they have the original Tim Horton's coffee bean.
- 18:56Speaker 3: This podcast is so full of knowledge.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Ryan Reynolds had a very little role in La La Land that none of us noticed.
- 19:03Speaker 3: There are only three ways.
- 19:06Speaker 6: McDonald's has the beans.
- 19:07Speaker 6: You'll never unsee it.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Okay, all right, last one question.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Last one question.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh wait, I'll try.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Okay, well, we share Niagara Falls.
- 19:21Speaker 2: I know we have the prettier view, but we share Niagara Falls, so that's out.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Everyone has an anthem.
- 19:27Speaker 2: That's like that's a trick answer.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Mounties are a full out police force guys.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Like they have they.
- 19:37Speaker 2: There are provinces and like cities that don't have their own.
- 19:40Speaker 2: There's so many Mounties.
- 19:42Speaker 2: There's a police force when.
- 19:44Speaker 5: Where, in what provinces?
- 19:47Speaker 2: All over the coast, rural Ontario.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Have you seen them?
- 19:56Speaker 2: Yeah, my friend married them.
- 19:59Speaker 2: They dressed in police uniforms, like the red uniforms are only ceremonial.
- 20:05Speaker 5: Okay.
- 20:06Speaker 2: So maybe that's it.
- 20:07Speaker 3: They're not riding horses down the street in the red uniforms in the little hat.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Do they ride?
- 20:13Speaker 5: horses.
- 20:13Speaker 5: They ride horses.
- 20:14Speaker 5: I see that sometimes, but like regular police.
- 20:18Speaker 2: The RCMP like they have cars and like they have special divisions for like yeah, they have so much.
- 20:27Speaker 2: There's like a lot.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Okay, but not like a horse in the red outfit with the hat kind of mounted.
- 20:35Speaker 2: That's what I'm imagining.
- 20:36Speaker 2: They like patrol in the outfits.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Anyway, I don't even know why I'm so up in our no, I love to teach me.
- 20:44Speaker 2: I was sure someone was going to get up on me and be like you're wrong, so this is my guess, my answer by default is the flag, because it's so ridiculous, like who puts a leaf, and it's not even a nice leaf, it's like a geometric design leaf.
- 21:01Speaker 2: It's anyway that is the most Canadian, because it's tacky.
- 21:05Speaker 3: So I said it and you know I may get pushed back on this podcast, but I'm allowed to say I'm so we've, we've pissed off all the Canadians with the flag and salt, all the Drake lovers, all right.
- 21:18Speaker 3: So I'm Sabrina, you two.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Now you know you're you're queued up.
- 21:21Speaker 3: I think, all the Ryan.
- 21:24Speaker 6: Reynolds fans.
- 21:24Speaker 6: Oh yeah, oh yeah, I got the Sabrina's, the only one that's clear.
- 21:29Speaker 5: Yeah, all right.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Just one last thing, quick thing.
- 21:34Speaker 3: What are you each binging right now?
- 21:36Speaker 3: We'll start with you, marisa.
- 21:38Speaker 5: Oh God, this is so embarrassing.
- 21:40Speaker 5: I don't even know if you started with me, so I don't have time to lie.
- 21:42Speaker 5: Gilmore girls, it seems to be quite popular.
- 21:47Speaker 5: It's like my little.
- 21:48Speaker 5: It's like my little happy, safe place.
- 21:50Speaker 5: I watch it when my life is crazy chaotic and me and my fiance just sitting Watch the Gilmore girls.
- 21:57Speaker 3: You shouldn't be the one apologizing.
- 21:59Speaker 3: It's him who should be the.
- 22:00Speaker 5: He was like I was starting and I was like, do you want to watch this movie?
- 22:03Speaker 5: He's like no.
- 22:04Speaker 5: And then he was like walking by and now he's like we're in season six and he's still watching.
- 22:10Speaker 3: He's yelling at you.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Come on, honey.
- 22:12Speaker 3: We got to hurry up.
- 22:13Speaker 3: He gets mad if.
- 22:14Speaker 5: I watch it without him, so like that's a tough turn, I think.
- 22:18Speaker 3: All right, sabrina.
- 22:21Speaker 4: I'm kind of into like I was watching.
- 22:24Speaker 4: I watched a show and it was like too much for my brain so I had to like go into like reality shows and Netflix reality show.
- 22:28Speaker 4: So I just finished a show called trust.
- 22:32Speaker 4: It's like new On Netflix.
- 22:36Speaker 4: Yeah, there wasn't a lot of advertising for it, I just thought on like my main thing.
- 22:41Speaker 4: So I just finished that and it was like a different concept for like reality Show and I just finished that.
- 22:46Speaker 4: It was like I had to like get up and like take a walk, cause it like it was trust.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Good relaxing TV.
- 22:54Speaker 3: How are you, sir?
- 22:58Speaker 6: I'm not sure, I'm not sure, I'm not sure, I'm not sure, I'm not sure, I'm not sure that's a thing for me.
- 23:04Speaker 6: Honestly, since the pandemic I found it hard to watch anything that's heavy at all Like I'm slowly getting being able to do that, so I'll admit it.
- 23:14Speaker 6: When I'm by myself, I've been watching Freakin band or prom, sorry.
- 23:19Speaker 6: But yes, I have.
- 23:19Speaker 6: But I've also with I have a 12 year old.
- 23:24Speaker 6: I've been watching Glee like, like probably for the fourth time and just can't get enough of it, and she's they're really into musical theater so it's like it's really fun.
- 23:33Speaker 6: So I feel like it kind of balances out.
- 23:36Speaker 3: So you watch a little bit of Vanderpump rules with them and then you go into Glee.
- 23:40Speaker 6: No, I don't I watch that.
- 23:42Speaker 6: I watch that like secretly and shamefully in my dark corner of my bedroom.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Can I add?
- 23:50Speaker 5: something.
- 23:50Speaker 5: So I was like oh no.
- 23:54Speaker 3: I don't want to say that's because of the other person on this call right now.
- 23:59Speaker 5: I was just sitting in Montreal in a hotel, forever, and I couldn't get my Netflix to work, so I couldn't watch Gilmore girls.
- 24:05Speaker 5: So do you know what?
- 24:07Speaker 5: I binged moonshine.
- 24:09Speaker 5: I'm see these.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Sorry, alex, did you really I was so bad, I really you were so dead, I really like it.
- 24:18Speaker 5: I just had to tell you I was watching you basically in my hotel in Montreal for like a week.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Oh my god, that's so nice.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Well, thank you.
- 24:33Speaker 2: That's so nice of you.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Americans can watch it on the CW now Go pitch pitch.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Season two on the CW coming out this summer.
- 24:47Speaker 2: I'm bingeing, I'm trying to keep up to date with stuff Like I'm.
- 24:52Speaker 2: I'm binging Griselda on Netflix, so if you have a guy, it's good.
- 24:57Speaker 2: It's a crime drama, though, so it is a little heavy.
- 25:00Speaker 2: I'm binging Mr and Mrs Smith on Prime TV, maya Erskine and Donald Glover Really really good, but that was lighter, I think, like more dramedy territory.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Just fully binge watch an HBO show called the Other Two.
- 25:21Speaker 2: So funny.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Nobody I talked to about it ever has heard about it.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Like you guys have to go watch it.
- 25:29Speaker 3: It's the most hilarious show and season three kind of sucked the first two were great.
- 25:35Speaker 3: And season three.
- 25:36Speaker 3: The final one was a little like.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Really.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I didn't like it.
- 25:41Speaker 2: I thought it was so great.
- 25:43Speaker 2: And lastly, last, last, last yeah, fully binge watching survivor, going backward into seasons and loving it.
- 25:57Speaker 5: I feel, like we all have the like guilty pleasure.
- 25:58Speaker 5: And then the stuff we watch to see for the good acting.
- 26:03Speaker 3: The one that you actually admit to, and then there's the one that you really watch yeah yeah, yeah, there's other there's is what's Alice?
- 26:12Speaker 5: and Janie's?
- 26:13Speaker 5: Is she American?
- 26:14Speaker 5: You guys know?
- 26:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I think she's like Texas.
- 26:17Speaker 3: I think she's like American, as American can be.
- 26:20Speaker 5: She's also freaking amazing and I watched mom the entire season and I thought I would.
- 26:25Speaker 5: Anna Ferris I thought I would hate it, but Alice and Janie is a star, so if you want, it's got lots of episodes it's a good banger.
- 26:35Speaker 3: OK, all right, Now we're going to actually get into some Justice Warrior talk.
- 26:38Speaker 3: We had all that little stuff to loosen us up.
- 26:41Speaker 3: I'm the only one drinking, but that's OK, so did now, did you guys?
- 26:46Speaker 3: So three of you are in Toronto, alex is off on the coast surfing and stuff.
- 26:50Speaker 3: But did you guys know each other before the set at all?
- 26:53Speaker 3: Or did you just all sort of show up and say, hey, you know, nice to meet you.
- 26:59Speaker 5: Sarah, I know each other.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Yeah, we did not.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, sorry you and Sarah.
- 27:06Speaker 6: Yeah, Marie and I knew each other.
- 27:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:11Speaker 5: Yeah, we knew each other, but the rest of us were all.
- 27:13Speaker 5: Yeah, the rest of us were all newbies.
- 27:16Speaker 5: I didn't even really get a lot of time with Sarah on set, so I was yeah.
- 27:20Speaker 3: At all.
- 27:21Speaker 3: She's too busy over that sharpening her knife and getting into her method acting of you know, on the stocking.
- 27:29Speaker 3: So, all right, All right.
- 27:31Speaker 3: So now I looked, you know, going through IMDB, and you know it's, I guess, as accurate as it is but does not look like you guys a couple of you have a little bit of hallmark experience, but not a lot.
- 27:42Speaker 3: So what was it like for you guys when the agent called and said, hey, I got a hallmark gig for you.
- 27:48Speaker 3: You know you interested in it and like then, what was the audition like?
- 27:53Speaker 3: So we'll start with you, Sarah, first, since you're going ahead and you know you're the murderer Spoiler alert.
- 28:02Speaker 6: Well, so very excited for the whole hallmark thing.
- 28:06Speaker 6: I did a small part in a hallmark movie years ago.
- 28:11Speaker 6: I'd have to look up what it was, because it was very small and it was a long time ago.
- 28:15Speaker 6: So super.
- 28:17Speaker 6: To be in that and yeah, so, very, so excited to be brought into this world.
- 28:26Speaker 6: But I also didn't know much about the hallmark movies and mysteries kind of stream or like branch of it.
- 28:34Speaker 6: And so when I got the audition and like my role is so meaty and so not what springs to mind for me with hallmark at all, like quite a lot darker than anything, I knew quite a lot, yeah, heavier, heavier.
- 28:50Speaker 6: Then I've seen at least.
- 28:53Speaker 6: And then to get to audition for that particular role and then play that role was like that's my dream.
- 28:59Speaker 6: I love playing, I love playing evil, I love dark, I love all the darker the better for me.
- 29:05Speaker 6: So I was, yeah, this was.
- 29:06Speaker 6: I was so excited about this.
- 29:08Speaker 3: And so for your audition, what did your like?
- 29:10Speaker 3: Little scene or a thing like that, was it?
- 29:13Speaker 6: Oh, I'd have to remember there was a couple, I think one was the final scene with the reveal, but it was slightly different.
- 29:24Speaker 6: It was a little.
- 29:25Speaker 6: I think there was a little bit more like you knew sooner within that scene.
- 29:30Speaker 6: You knew sooner what was happening, where it was the direction, the director who took it kind of like let's leave it till the last second, where you put hands on her kind of thing.
- 29:40Speaker 6: Yeah, so the audition was.
- 29:43Speaker 6: It was that scene and it was probably the one just where we're in the loft, so just me as the designer, kind of, where you don't really know what's happening.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Talking to the M&Ms.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Yeah, ok, all right, alex, how about?
- 29:57Speaker 4: you.
- 29:58Speaker 3: And you got your thing like hey, hallmark's interested.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 30:05Speaker 2: I had been a while.
- 30:08Speaker 2: I had like a couple of things under my belt from Hallmark and they were mostly just sort of like kooky side characters and some of the like romantic movies.
- 30:18Speaker 2: And it had been a while since I had worked with the studio.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Jonathan the director and I had worked with each other before and liked each other and stuff.
- 30:30Speaker 2: So it was sent my way because he thought of me honestly and yeah, my audition sides were my introduction, like when he has the mustache, he takes it off and he's negotiating his price for work, and I just thought it was interesting because it didn't read at all like a Hallmark, a typical Hallmark project.
- 30:57Speaker 2: But even for like the movies and like the mysteries side of it all, like it just felt so fresh.
- 31:04Speaker 2: It reminded me of sort of I don't know like their take, of sort of like a how to get away with murder episode and I was like really really interested.
- 31:15Speaker 2: But yeah, I sent the tape, as you do and you try not to be too interested because the odds are never really in your favor.
- 31:23Speaker 2: But when they called they called very quickly because the production was like I think like a week or two away and yeah, it moved very, very fast.
- 31:32Speaker 2: I had no time to be excited because I had to like read a full out script over a weekend on the plane ride to Ottawa.
- 31:42Speaker 3: So that's where it was filmed, in Ottawa.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Ottawa.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Yeah, we filmed.
- 31:47Speaker 3: All right.
- 31:47Speaker 2: All right.
- 31:48Speaker 6: Sabrina, I'm sorry, Sorry to interrupt.
- 31:50Speaker 6: I just remembered for myself too.
- 31:52Speaker 6: It was very, it happened very last minute, like the casting part of it.
- 31:55Speaker 6: I found out and I think I was in Ottawa the next week.
- 31:59Speaker 3: So, from talking to most of the Hallmark people, that seems to be a normal Hallmarky.
- 32:03Speaker 3: In fact, we were talking to one of the costumeers and she is talking about how one of her challenges is she'll have, like people, and they find out literally that morning that now, granted, it's not main roles, like you guys, but characters who are coming in and they've got four hours to get on set and she's trying to get them all done, and but she said that most of the casting isn't done.
- 32:26Speaker 3: It's all done within two weeks of shooting.
- 32:30Speaker 3: So it seems to be kind of normal.
- 32:32Speaker 5: All right, Sabrina, how about your?
- 32:33Speaker 3: story Sorry.
- 32:35Speaker 5: No, sorry, and I think the strike was impending in this case, so I'm pretty sure they actually sped up.
- 32:42Speaker 5: They were still trying to get through the script, like they hadn't done final edits on the script, like they were just like let's get shooting this movie because the strike's coming.
- 32:51Speaker 5: So I think with that it was even more kind of like hairy.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Well, since you just hopped in, why don't you tell us then your thing when you get the Hallmark call and your quick audition thing?
- 33:04Speaker 5: OK, I last year was like my Hallmark year.
- 33:09Speaker 5: I've been auditioning for Hallmark.
- 33:11Speaker 5: Everyone's like you should be on Hallmark because I'm kind of annoyingly bubbly and they're like you have a face for Hallmark.
- 33:17Speaker 5: I'm like, ok, and I'd actually done my first Hallmark that year.
- 33:23Speaker 5: So I did my first Hallmark in February and it was called Never Too Late to Celebrate and it was like a Kinsignera movie and then I did another movie.
- 33:32Speaker 5: So it was kind of just like quick, fast and furious and suddenly I was like in the Hallmark world, which is a place I absolutely get, makes sense to me Makes sense.
- 33:43Speaker 5: I'm like, oh, I can be this, I know this feels.
- 33:46Speaker 5: But the cool thing was, like Sarah said, it was like a lot darker.
- 33:49Speaker 5: I remember we were on set and even the people on set were like.
- 33:53Speaker 5: There was one moment we were on set, kat and I and Sabrina.
- 33:59Speaker 5: We were in that scene with Ann and Markey and we were in the school scene and we were in class and they were shooting it and the lighting was so much darker than what Hallmark is used to shooting.
- 34:10Speaker 5: But I overheard some of the texts be like did we lose some lights?
- 34:14Speaker 5: Like did some lights blow?
- 34:16Speaker 5: Like they thought it was a mistake and they're like no, and Nicky's like no, this is what we want.
- 34:21Speaker 5: It was really cool.
- 34:22Speaker 5: Nicky and Megan the writers, just like were, and that was their goal was to take it in a different direction.
- 34:26Speaker 5: So I feel like we all got a really unique experience Because they were like we're trying to push the boundaries and make this little edgier and a little bit more real, and it was freaking cool.
- 34:38Speaker 5: It was a really great time on set and we got lucky with our peeps.
- 34:42Speaker 5: I went off on a tangent.
- 34:44Speaker 5: Sabrina, you talk now.
- 34:46Speaker 5: Sabrina we're talking to you now.
- 34:50Speaker 4: Well, yeah, honestly, right before I did this, I was like I'm going to take a break.
- 34:56Speaker 4: I need to take a break from acting and auditioning for a bit.
- 34:59Speaker 4: And then I went to Ottawa just for a trip with my partner.
- 35:03Speaker 4: We just went, did a little road trip.
- 35:05Speaker 4: The day I got back, my agent sent me the audition for the movie and it was actually for the role of Sarah.
- 35:12Speaker 4: I auditioned for Sarah.
- 35:17Speaker 5: I wasn't going to say it because I was like, is that weird?
- 35:19Speaker 5: Because I auditioned for CJ yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 35:21Speaker 4: So it was switched and I remember I had one day with this dive and it was the scene where the three girls were going through the discovery, and then the second scene was when Sarah and Liam are with the binoculars or whatever.
- 35:42Speaker 4: And then I think maybe three days later, my agent was like yeah, I need to pack your bags.
- 35:52Speaker 4: You're going back in two days and I was like, oh my god, what's going on.
- 35:58Speaker 4: And it was for a different reason, so I had no idea.
- 36:00Speaker 4: I was like what is going on?
- 36:02Speaker 4: I was just literally until the first day on set.
- 36:05Speaker 4: I was like I have no idea what's going on right now.
- 36:08Speaker 4: Do we talk about?
- 36:09Speaker 5: this?
- 36:09Speaker 5: I don't remember.
- 36:10Speaker 5: We talked about this and I wasn't sure if we were going to, so I was like I'll just do the, but my scene was that I auditioned for for your role.
- 36:18Speaker 5: Was this scene where she had to do the magic trick and I spent legit like two hours trying to figure out how to vanish a?
- 36:26Speaker 4: coin.
- 36:26Speaker 4: Yeah, they put that scene out and then they didn't leave it.
- 36:29Speaker 4: No, I had to improv that part.
- 36:33Speaker 4: That part was literally improv.
- 36:34Speaker 4: Jonathan was like, let's try something different.
- 36:37Speaker 5: And then they did this I wondered.
- 36:38Speaker 5: I think we talked about this.
- 36:39Speaker 5: They did the same thing.
- 36:40Speaker 5: I was like, yeah, you're going, here's the contract and this and this is the information.
- 36:46Speaker 5: You're playing Sarah.
- 36:47Speaker 5: And I was like who, yeah?
- 36:48Speaker 5: He's like, oh, yeah, sarah.
- 36:51Speaker 5: And I'm like who's Sarah?
- 36:52Speaker 5: Yeah, it's just a different role.
- 36:55Speaker 5: And I'm like, ok, it's like you're going to more.
- 36:57Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, ok, yep, yeah, same deal.
- 37:00Speaker 4: I love that.
- 37:01Speaker 4: Yeah, it was fun.
- 37:02Speaker 4: It was like you didn't even have time to feel anything, exactly.
- 37:07Speaker 5: No time to plan, which is kind of for me as an actor, sometimes better anyways, like don't have time to get in your head about it or get to cement it into any choices, all right, so it was super, super, super exciting.
- 37:21Speaker 3: One of the things that I think led to this movie being so well received was the chemistry that you all brought to the set and you guys said you didn't know each other before.
- 37:33Speaker 3: So that's really interesting and I know you guys are actors so you were able to make believe things.
- 37:40Speaker 3: But did you guys like, was this set different than other ones?
- 37:45Speaker 3: You've been on as far as you guys connecting and bonding and you know all that.
- 37:51Speaker 3: And just tell me a little bit about what that experience was like.
- 37:56Speaker 2: I think it was.
- 37:57Speaker 2: I think it's hard.
- 38:00Speaker 2: I mean, it's not that it doesn't happen, it's just that it's hard to bond with a cast when projects like this get shot in however many weeks.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Sometimes you shoot something for two or three weeks and the best you can hope for is a good work rapport.
- 38:19Speaker 2: But I don't know.
- 38:21Speaker 2: I think this was just a bunch of the right ingredients.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Like we at least sort of the five leads in the cast were roughly the same age and had a lot of the same experiences, but we all really like the script and wanted to do it the most justice that we could, and we also actually all made a real effort to try to genuinely get to know each other and hang out outside of the set, which I always appreciate on things like this.
- 38:57Speaker 2: It really, you know, it fast tracks a way into, I feel, like much needed intimacy.
- 39:02Speaker 2: So, yeah, by the end, like we really felt, I really felt like we came out of this good friends.
- 39:11Speaker 5: We are good friends always.
- 39:14Speaker 3: Well, before you got on, Sabrina was saying some pretty bad things about you, but you know what?
- 39:19Speaker 4: Damn, don't tell him.
- 39:24Speaker 3: Sarah, since you were like not the justice for a year or the essentially Enemy Now did you?
- 39:30Speaker 3: Were you like on set, kind of just off in a different world, or was there like were you still hanging out with the whole gang there's a kind of lead there to a click.
- 39:43Speaker 6: Alex was.
- 39:43Speaker 6: So I Well, so I had.
- 39:50Speaker 6: You know, I had quite a few days, I think, where I didn't have any interaction.
- 39:54Speaker 6: It would be, you know, me and cat or Just the kind of specific scenes.
- 40:01Speaker 6: But there's one day that really stood out to me and it was.
- 40:04Speaker 6: It was a beautiful sunny day and we were on location, somewhere where lunch was like by the canal, and it was so beautiful, and Maria and Marisa who quoted herself as annoyingly bubbly or whatever you said, like what you are, beautifully bubbly and such a true spirit and connector and yes, we know each other from way back, but it had been a long time and it was different circumstances and she was like come on and we're going to sit with these people and we're going to talk to these people and stay here and we're going to just chat and like nothing forced nothing.
- 40:39Speaker 6: It was just like so easy and fun.
- 40:41Speaker 6: And that's where I felt like I got to know you, alex and Sabrina.
- 40:44Speaker 6: We didn't really get to have any time till the very end, till it was like arrest me, kind of thing.
- 40:50Speaker 6: But I know, but you really, you really were a really great, because my tendency is the opposite of that.
- 40:59Speaker 6: My tendency is to kind of just like, which isn't good necessarily, like I'll sometimes just get into my own head and I have to go be a serious actor and eat my lunch and do the stuff, but it's actually the opposite, like letting go and having fun and being outside and chatting it makes you a better actor.
- 41:16Speaker 6: And it's like the lesson I have to keep learning because my my default is to retreat.
- 41:20Speaker 6: So thank you, marisa, officially on air, for that, because that really was so lovely.
- 41:25Speaker 6: And and then cat and Markey, and like I was actually just talking to my husband today about the experience of like being in the makeup trailer the first day.
- 41:34Speaker 6: Cat walked in.
- 41:36Speaker 6: She didn't even before she did anything, she didn't know who I was, who I was playing, and she said hi, I'm cat, nice to meet you.
- 41:45Speaker 6: And it's just like that tiny little you know it might seem tiny to her that as a the lead on a show is just so.
- 41:53Speaker 6: It puts you, it is.
- 41:55Speaker 6: It makes you feel like, okay, I deserve to be here.
- 41:59Speaker 6: Like you know, actors, we can get ourselves or I can get myself into a place of like, oh, I'm here, I'm, I'm abroad.
- 42:05Speaker 6: But just like what me immediately liities, made me feel like her, her equal, every time we hung out.
- 42:12Speaker 6: And then, yeah, she was so great, markey, and actually, if we want a little trivia, but this dates me, markey, and reminded me or told me that so I used to be in the ballet world as a ballet dancer.
- 42:26Speaker 6: He played my son in the nutcracker.
- 42:34Speaker 4: Yeah, back in winter.
- 42:38Speaker 6: Yeah, so he stayed with me and he played my son.
- 42:41Speaker 6: Was he a fetus?
- 42:43Speaker 6: Like, how old is he?
- 42:44Speaker 6: I was a teen mom and he was a no, so he would know it's the ballet world.
- 42:50Speaker 6: So he was.
- 42:50Speaker 6: I don't know how old he was, he was probably 10 or something, and yeah, and now he's all grown up.
- 42:59Speaker 3: And you were such such a star you're like?
- 43:02Speaker 3: No, I do not remember you.
- 43:03Speaker 6: I don't know how do you say your name?
- 43:06Speaker 6: Okay, amazing Ukrainian dancer and then was also in the ballet world, but yeah, so that was a fun little tie in that he made our first day like in the car on the way to sad.
- 43:18Speaker 6: Like what, if you're more, all right, we go.
- 43:23Speaker 3: That's always a good moment.
- 43:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I remember my work once when a coworker we were at a softball game and she didn't want.
- 43:32Speaker 3: It was a coed thing.
- 43:33Speaker 3: And there's another game after ours and they were trying to get females for their team and she didn't want to play sick, save me, save me.
- 43:39Speaker 3: And so I went and I called her on my phone, on her phone, but she didn't answer.
- 43:44Speaker 3: I was like that was going to be your thing.
- 43:45Speaker 3: So the next day she like yelled at me for not saving her and she's like why didn't you just say you're my dad?
- 43:50Speaker 3: And it just crushed me because I'm like, wait, your dad, I'm like older brother, come on, not dad, it was, it was a.
- 43:58Speaker 3: You guys don't really know what it's like yet, but yeah, you'll get eventually it's a painful moment.
- 44:04Speaker 3: When that happens.
- 44:05Speaker 3: It's like sitting in a minivan and looking over, thinking you're cool and also like, oh, I'm in a minivan, but okay, enough about that.
- 44:13Speaker 3: So what's your little sort of behind the scenes chemistry story?
- 44:20Speaker 4: Honestly okay.
- 44:21Speaker 4: So when we got there, we get like an itinerary and stuff and we had a read through the day before I think it was the day before.
- 44:29Speaker 4: So that's when we officially met each other and we kind of got and we just went through a couple, a few scenes of the script and we kind of like all kind of saw each other there, but we still didn't we're still like shy with each other.
- 44:45Speaker 4: And then literally I think, like the first day we're all there.
- 44:48Speaker 4: It was like we knew each other for so long and like I was like I've never experienced this on a set before, like in an ensemble set, like I've never experienced that.
- 44:59Speaker 4: And then we instantly we had a group chat, we talked about things and stuff like that, and then we went out.
- 45:04Speaker 4: We went out for dinner.
- 45:05Speaker 4: Like it was just so organic and like I find like it's it's hard to meet people where it's literally everyone clicks, like there's always at least one person that goes off or two people that are super cool.
- 45:21Speaker 4: But it was so organic how everyone just came together.
- 45:26Speaker 3: So when you had this, this group chat, did you have a secondary group chat that Marisa wasn't on?
- 45:31Speaker 3: You're like what the hell's with this woman not eating the poutine when we went out.
- 45:36Speaker 4: Yeah, but we have a cool dinner.
- 45:38Speaker 5: So much shade, eric, I feel.
- 45:43Speaker 3: I love it.
- 45:43Speaker 3: I'm gonna say, well, you can get back.
- 45:44Speaker 3: And what was?
- 45:45Speaker 3: So?
- 45:45Speaker 3: It's your little story, the chemistry story of how to the justice where it came together.
- 45:52Speaker 5: It was pretty awesome.
- 45:53Speaker 5: I don't like it's.
- 45:55Speaker 5: I'm just the same thing.
- 45:57Speaker 5: Sabrina, when we had our first like chat in the hotel room and I remember Alex I don't know if I can call you out on this you were like I think you'd okay, so you done your audition.
- 46:09Speaker 5: This is just like piggybacking out, like Alex had done his audition and I just remember and he was like hey, I did my decision this way and now they're asking me to kind of go this direction.
- 46:17Speaker 5: And you were like in this weird spiral, like what the hell am I supposed to do with this role?
- 46:22Speaker 5: Because I'm getting this weird and and and Sabrina and I had been flipped so we had brand new like characters.
- 46:31Speaker 5: So we were all like and and I feel like that, along with the fact like that really connected us, we're all like, oh, cool, so like you don't know what's happening either, okay, so we're just going to do this together.
- 46:44Speaker 5: This is great.
- 46:45Speaker 5: And it kind of gave us an extra bit of kind of the chemistry, like connection, because we're all just like flying by the seat of our pants and then it all worked out.
- 46:53Speaker 5: But also there wasn't a lot of ego.
- 46:55Speaker 5: It's a huge, huge thing, man like you can get on set and people are just like and sometimes it's like it's like Sarah said people kind of trying to make up for like their own anxieties or their own like their own criticisms, where they're like I'm not meant, I shouldn't be here.
- 47:11Speaker 5: So then they push an ego thing and they act like they're bigger than they feel is what I usually see a lot.
- 47:18Speaker 5: But no one on this set was like that.
- 47:19Speaker 5: We were all like Sarah, even the secondary characters, all the other characters and you know what, like the crew was just a really great vibe and the file of us, yeah, we jammed really fast and and everyone was like, like Sarah said, cat was cat and Marke and are both like just loving, sweet, down to earth, cool people that are like let's do this together, and so it was a new vibe kind of thing for hallmark.
- 47:43Speaker 5: We were all kind of excited.
- 47:45Speaker 5: My favorite thing was when we got on our little Scooby truck.
- 47:48Speaker 5: Yeah, we just thought we got really lucky, nice.
- 47:59Speaker 3: Okay, so who was the one who said never trust someone with first two first names?
- 48:05Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the brain, okay, yeah.
- 48:07Speaker 3: Now the funny thing about that and I've talked to a Megan about this is that's something I've always believed in my life.
- 48:14Speaker 3: So is that did that when you, when you said the line, you're like oh yeah, that's totally true People first names are shady.
- 48:22Speaker 4: Yeah, and then and then must have been a middle child.
- 48:25Speaker 4: We all have a story about a middle child.
- 48:31Speaker 3: Yeah, or any of you middle, middle children.
- 48:34Speaker 5: No, but my brother is the middle child.
- 48:36Speaker 4: I have a middle brother.
- 48:40Speaker 3: So, sarah, you obviously played the killer and one of the things and when we did our review of your character was she still had this empathy that, even though she, yes, as a psychotic going around and stuff like that, the way you brought that character to life was where we kind of I don't want to say understood, but we weren't like hating, hating on you for going around killing.
- 49:05Speaker 3: So was that like something?
- 49:08Speaker 3: That was when, when you showed up, that they said, okay, hey, this is how we want you to play it.
- 49:13Speaker 3: Or was that just something, when you read it, that you thought you could bring to that role?
- 49:19Speaker 6: Um, that's an interesting question.
- 49:21Speaker 6: Well, first of all, I do appreciate that you said that.
- 49:24Speaker 6: I think I think it's so.
- 49:28Speaker 6: I remember Jonathan and I talking about it for the one scene, but it's definitely where I just went to.
- 49:34Speaker 6: Like I mentioned, I have always had a lot of the darker characters and the you know, the edgier stuff, but there's always a reason for it.
- 49:42Speaker 6: There's always a reason.
- 49:43Speaker 6: People act that way or act out or lash out or and so.
- 49:49Speaker 6: To me, that was just just connecting to that.
- 49:50Speaker 6: Like this woman is so unhappy, so unhappy, but she's sacrificing.
- 49:56Speaker 6: In real life, I have an issue with, you know, people who sacrificed their own happiness just to have the boat, to have the this, to have that like.
- 50:04Speaker 6: To me, there's nothing more important than being true to yourself and you know, connecting with people and all the things she doesn't do.
- 50:13Speaker 6: But, yeah, the idea that there has to be some hurt and some damage and some vulnerability in order to do these terrible things, and, yeah, and so if you really put yourself in her position, you know she's got all this money, but her husband's awful, I mean, yeah, I think it's.
- 50:35Speaker 6: Once you read the whole script, I think it's quite easy to go to where, to the vulnerability and the pain that makes her do what she does.
- 50:45Speaker 6: But I also will take that, as I do take that as a compliment, because it is a bit of a fine line.
- 50:51Speaker 6: You know, it's like it's yeah, it's a bit of a fine line.
- 50:56Speaker 3: Now, where did you pull from?
- 50:57Speaker 3: Do you have, like, personal experience killing people?
- 50:59Speaker 3: So you played Liam, and no disrespect to everybody else, but he turned out to basically be the fan favorite character you got.
- 51:12Speaker 4: Oh yeah, of course that everyone just love Liam.
- 51:16Speaker 3: And when you read the script, well, it sounds like when you read the script it was one thing and then it turned out to be another.
- 51:21Speaker 3: But as it was going through, did you kind of have that feeling like, oh, I have this, this plumber roll that everyone's just going to love, and that with Liam, or at the end.
- 51:34Speaker 3: Surprise like whoa, I'm like yeah, I thank you.
- 51:40Speaker 2: By the way, that's so nice of you to say like very flattered that people took to Liam so well.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, like I I'm very intuitive when it comes to sort of, when it comes to like character prep, like I don't feel like.
- 52:03Speaker 2: Like you know, I have short.
- 52:05Speaker 2: I have a sort of short way into like how I do characters and whatnot.
- 52:10Speaker 2: And he just seemed very straightforward to me in the sense that like he was a little bit eclectic.
- 52:15Speaker 2: It was in the.
- 52:19Speaker 2: I think he even says like he's really into Magnum PI and he likes the Hawaiian tease and like he's wearing this mustache in a scene in which the guys never met him before.
- 52:28Speaker 2: There's no reason he should need a mustache and so well he's doing it because he thinks it's exciting and whatever.
- 52:36Speaker 2: So I basically did in the in myself tape what I ended up doing for the movie.
- 52:46Speaker 2: It's just that I actually got a note from from casting.
- 52:54Speaker 2: That was actually.
- 52:55Speaker 2: It was sent to me by accident.
- 52:57Speaker 2: It wasn't actually a note that was to go to me, but the note was like please tone it down, like we like you, but please tone on.
- 53:05Speaker 2: And I came, I was hired, came to auto, really freaked out because I was like I don't think he's like a tone down type of dude and I don't know how else to like do it.
- 53:16Speaker 2: And so, yeah, I think, even all the way into my first day on set, like doing my first few scenes eventually, eventually, Jonathan, our director, was like I okay, just do literally whatever you want.
- 53:31Speaker 2: And I was like really, and he's like I know, I know, like in the vein of hallmark, like I know you're probably thinking that he needs to be this like squeaky clean side character.
- 53:43Speaker 2: But he was like do whatever you want.
- 53:45Speaker 2: And I was like I totally will, and you need to let me know when I'm doing way too much, because these guys are playing like these like put together college students were like really serious about this case and I feel like I'm in space.
- 54:03Speaker 2: So like you, let me know.
- 54:07Speaker 2: And he never really did Everybody just kind of let me do it.
- 54:10Speaker 2: I spent the whole entirety of the movie talking to the other, talking to the rest of the cast.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Like this is either.
- 54:19Speaker 2: I feel I hope this is not annoying.
- 54:22Speaker 2: So I left.
- 54:23Speaker 2: I left feeling like he's either gonna be, I hope I pass under the radar, because otherwise I think everybody's gonna be really, really annoyed, so I'm happy that wasn't the case.
- 54:38Speaker 3: All right well you actually look and looked at my notes, I think, because my question was now do you actually know Magnum PI and Tom Selleck before you had to deliver the line?
- 54:49Speaker 2: Oh yeah, like I was forced to watch Magnum PI.
- 54:55Speaker 2: My dad was like into like retro sitcoms, we did that, we did MASH, like I Dream of Genie, like I was watching all these things, thinking that other kids were also watching these things.
- 55:08Speaker 2: But you know, I'm not, I'm not cool enough to even try to like emanate Magnum PI.
- 55:18Speaker 2: So yeah, I'm.
- 55:24Speaker 5: I think you channeled it a couple of times.
- 55:27Speaker 2: Thank you so much, but I it was fine enough for me to like play a guy who thought that he was giving Magnum PI even though maybe he was a little nerdier than she's self to be and I thought that was funny enough.
- 55:46Speaker 3: Okay, well, magnum is actually one of my favorite shows of all time and Whatever, that's one of my favorite characters, so I loved.
- 55:53Speaker 3: Like I said, there were so many things.
- 55:55Speaker 3: I've talked to Megan quite a bit about this.
- 55:57Speaker 3: There's so many little things in the writing that just resonated with me personally that why I love this so much.
- 56:04Speaker 3: All right, marisa.
- 56:06Speaker 5: So wait, hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 56:07Speaker 5: If you are a Magnum PI connoisseur, then your vote counts for more than us.
- 56:13Speaker 5: Did you think that Alex had Magnum vibes?
- 56:16Speaker 3: happening like not nothing had at all but he definitely had.
- 56:20Speaker 3: He definitely had the.
- 56:21Speaker 3: Like Magnum is my idol, kind of kind of thing.
- 56:26Speaker 3: Like I want to be a Magnum with my fake mustache.
- 56:28Speaker 3: But come on, magnum, with that, my stash is iconic.
- 56:32Speaker 3: And you did not wear shorts that are obscenely short, running around or anything like that, like Magnum.
- 56:38Speaker 3: You know, marie, I remember wearing those little.
- 56:44Speaker 5: I didn't know.
- 56:45Speaker 5: I was gonna throw shade man, but he actually said exactly what you said you were going for, which is the guy that's trying to be Magnum, so technically, I'll grow at the stash in the next one.
- 56:56Speaker 2: There you go.
- 56:58Speaker 3: You better start now, because that is a bushy stash that he's got.
- 57:01Speaker 3: All right, Marisa, so we're gonna go a little bit of a detour.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Here is I went to your IMDB.
- 57:09Speaker 3: I got to see Chucky that you were in Chucky.
- 57:13Speaker 3: So how is Chucky different?
- 57:17Speaker 3: Or like true justice?
- 57:19Speaker 3: You get the tough question.
- 57:22Speaker 3: I only asked the top, oh I.
- 57:25Speaker 3: They're both so different.
- 57:28Speaker 5: They're so different though it's so different.
- 57:31Speaker 5: Um, I Mean I didn't have it like I don't know if it's a fair comparison in my experience, because I didn't have as much time on the Chucky Set as I had on this set right first.
- 57:40Speaker 5: Secondly, it was like I don't know what I can say.
- 57:43Speaker 5: I I think that True justice, like we're still in the Hallmark family, so there were times where we had to still kind of toe that positive line.
- 57:58Speaker 5: Like there was still like okay, you're upset, but you're not gonna, like, absolutely, you're not going.
- 58:05Speaker 5: Like Sarah got to go to the dark place, but we were kind of this Scooby-Doo gang.
- 58:08Speaker 5: So it was like this is serious, but don't be so serious that you make people like get upset.
- 58:14Speaker 5: Do you know what I mean?
- 58:15Speaker 5: And we had to.
- 58:16Speaker 5: Our role in the show was to kind of Keep it buoyant a little as well as delivering the truth.
- 58:22Speaker 5: It was a weird Line to toe I felt in true justice because, yeah, because it was still we're young and we're positive and we're like we're, we're sleuthers and we're gonna solve this crime, but also our best friend just got murdered and now I'm gonna pour over the details of the death.
- 58:39Speaker 5: Like it was a weird line to toe.
- 58:42Speaker 5: Whereas, chucky, my first day on set might I mean spoiler my son kills me, you know, and it's I just get stabbed to death.
- 58:52Speaker 5: That was my first shoot day in a closet and he's like smiling a little too much rain.
- 59:00Speaker 5: So it was like they.
- 59:01Speaker 5: They were like the.
- 59:03Speaker 5: It was like lean in, like the darker, the dirtier, the better For everyone on set, like I think, maybe except for the child, because they tried to like, maybe limit how Ruin he was gonna be by role doing this role.
- 59:17Speaker 5: So they were like here just hold this knife and and then say I helped, but just don't look behind you because your mother is covered in blood.
- 59:25Speaker 5: So it was like it was.
- 59:26Speaker 5: It was a very different set and a very different vibe.
- 59:30Speaker 3: Okay.
- 59:31Speaker 3: So while Liam was the fan favorite, I do have to say when I went back over my notes, your bangs were a second.
- 59:40Speaker 3: Your hair got a call out in the notes of what we loved about the movie.
- 59:44Speaker 3: So I don't have a question there other than you rock the banks.
- 59:50Speaker 5: Well, thank you that I didn't hear that.
- 59:52Speaker 5: That's great, I think I did.
- 59:53Speaker 5: Someone sent me a DM or something and said that I love, they love that I look like Megan.
- 59:58Speaker 5: Like they were like I love that, sarah, maybe some I'm all someone about that.
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: Thank you, I take that little compliment.
- 1:00:06Speaker 5: Keep these banks for a little while, maybe Actually my first homework.
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: I was blonde.
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: The day before we shot.
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: I Was like blonde, blonde, blonde.
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: I'd gone blonde for like a year and I got the role blonde and I got to set blonde and they were like and then I got a text from the hair department we want to make a little change, production wants to make a little change.
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: Like okay, I'm gay and looks like a little change.
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: And then they sent me pics for my Instagram and just black hair, let's change.
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: And then I went brown.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: Okay, so we're having fun, but this is actually kind of a serious question.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: Now, what is that like personally, emotionally, because it's such a physical Thing of saying, hey, this is how I look, and then I'm saying, hey, you're great, but we want you to look this way because it's such a superficial thing.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: Is that like, like, kind of?
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: In a way kind of setting personally.
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I had.
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: I had to be like Cuz.
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: I just kind of found myself as a blonde and I just found the perfect shade and I just changed my entire wardrobe, because I Don't know about people that change your hair color drastically.
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: It's a thing, colors are different, but I'm like I'd rather act.
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: I'm not married to.
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: This is all surface.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: It was like it was, it was a change.
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: I saw myself in the mirror and I was like, oh, I'm a completely different person, but brown is my natural hair color, so it was kind of like at least it was, I think if it had been the opposite it would have been worse.
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: But I was like blonde, which I only been for a bit, going back to my natural, versus if I was, you know, I mean if they were taking me in a direction like purple suddenly.
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: But it was abrupt, but I guess it's just the thing of like, yeah, you're acting and that's your art, and then that's just such a Whatever.
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: It's such a personal thing.
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, there's a challenge going to set some.
- 1:01:57Speaker 5: I don't know, but you guys.
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: But sometimes you get a set and they dress you in a way that you're like I don't see the character this way.
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: Or they do your hair in a way You're like oh, it is a.
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: It's a constant, that constant challenge for me at least, when you get upset because you have to be a team player, but it is.
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: It does affect how you feel, your hair color, your bangs, what you're wearing, and it just kind of has to be this Melange of all the things.
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: And a great set is where they're like hey, how do you feel?
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: What would you like?
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: And they just help you marry your looks with the way you see your role.
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: Again, I'm gonna just tout hallmark on this one.
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: They're great that way now I feel terrible for complimenting on your bangs.
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: I should just be like your work with.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: Fantastic to you, were fantastic in your role, so I don't want to be so superficial, All right so that are all good.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Now you unlike not Chucky, but you were in rabbit hole and that Was just a trip.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: I, when I was talking about your binging, I just finished binging that, that movie, that that whole series is just a crazy.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: Now, what was like?
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: The set like this, the overall experience, because it's two series, kind of things where I know you just did one of the movies, but the hallmark wheel and this machine, what's it like being on now Was that?
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: I forget who that was.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: Was that prime?
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: Paramount paramount.
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: So being on like a paramount type production Versus being on a hallmark type product Is it like very different?
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: Yeah, they're.
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: Yes, it's it, and it's a completely different experience when you're just Like I was such like a quick, it was such a quick thing right, and like it was just it just started filming I think it was the second, so it was very Hustling, bustling, so much going on, such a big group of people, and because we were filming at a very Like the downtown Toronto, it was like so much stuff going on.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: But honestly, like like Sarah was saying, like when you, when you go on set, sometimes you just like it's like should I be talking to people?
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: And it's like I was working with keepers Sutherland and I was like, oh my god, I, I don't know.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: I do.
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: I was like I don't know.
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: And honestly, he came straight up to me, like when we had to work together and he was so nice and he was so Open and like asking like my opinion on stuff, and I was like, oh, I was like Wow, this was actually of, I was not expecting this, because you hear so many stories about people being on set and like Just not being treated the same or equal as other people, and so, like I had that mindset of like let me just Just tell me what to do and I'll do it.
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: So it was nice Actually being asked by opinion and feeling like I was Well, important, right, and like I feel, like with the hallmarks, that it was very similar in that way.
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: People actually like trusted, like Jonathan, he was so great, he like actually trusted us and like gave us freedom to do what we wanted with the material, which it's it, that's such a great thing to do as a director.
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: Like he didn't, he wanted it, he did it, he asked us to do it how he envisioned it.
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: And then he also was like now do it how you envision it.
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: And I think that's so, so, so important.
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: And it was very similar with rabbit hole, which I thought was crazy, considering Paramount.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: Plus, it's a completely different set, completely different vibe, but it was very similar in that way now, when you're on, that one is A craft services, you're getting lobster rolls and that in hallmark You're getting subway or something.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: This is, like that, very different.
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: Um, you know what, because of COVID, I filmed it.
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: I don't remember when I filmed it, but it was still like the pre pre-packaged lunches and like the catering, like it was super different.
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: But when we went to Set the hallmarks that we had buffet style again and it was like it was good.
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: It was, it was pretty good and there was options and so McDonald's coffee?
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: none of that, tim Horton crap.
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, we got the craft beer of coffee is like we got we got it.
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: I'm gonna get so much hate.
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: I filmed in Ottawa there's no tastes like.
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: Next, next where you're gonna.
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: You're gonna be, sarah's gonna be coming up to stab you in a Mounties, going back, no way, all right, all right.
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: So we talked about Nikki D'Alo.
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: She was one of the writers, obviously with Megan, but she also had a role which, surprisingly for such a big hallmark star, a pretty small role and you guys kind of alluded to.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: But was she on set very much?
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: And if she was on set and you're interacting with her, what were your experiences with her?
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: Like in three masses we talked to.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: I don't want to, I'm not gonna lead you, nevermind, so we'll just go.
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: Marisa, you can start.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: You can start first.
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: Oh, hell.
- 1:07:29Speaker 5: She was, you know.
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: I think it was really obvious that this was a passion project for her.
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: She was really, Really excited about it.
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: She let us know, she was like I'm super grateful that you're doing this project and I'm like I'm super grateful to be doing this project.
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: Why are you?
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: Thanking me, thank you for the job.
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: But she, she's, she's, excellent.
- 1:07:52Speaker 5: She like again no ego, like she's been doing homework for the hallmarkies are gonna be like but she's been doing this for a long time, same with Ben.
- 1:08:03Speaker 5: They're like and and.
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: They just have so much passion and so much like positivity still now.
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: It was exciting to be on a project with someone that is like trying to transition and just open up her doorway, like she's doing acting, and also this first writing you know big writing credit and it was.
- 1:08:21Speaker 5: It was really cool and she was super warm and welcoming and excited and I loved it.
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: She was awesome.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: I was meaning did you get much interaction with her?
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: With Nikki, yeah, yeah, pretty much.
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure the the, where were we?
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: Like the university classes were all filmed.
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: University, I think this thing, yeah, it was all the same day, right, yeah, maybe two days, maybe two days.
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: But like, yeah, nikki, like she, I remember like sitting in like the odd, like watching her, and I was like I actually felt like I was in class, like I was like she was, it was so good, like she was like what, I was like huh, and I was like, oh, she wrote this, like she's made this, like she, she knows, like you know what I mean, I was like it just came, so like naturally.
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: I was like wow, and what she was, what Marisa was saying about her being so passionate about it, like she did so much research and like she was so, like she was so proud and happy about everything and it really it showed and she was so kind, like so, so, so kind, and I was like thank you for thank you for this and she was, like Marisa said, she was grateful for us as well and it was just, it was just so sweet and like, overall, so amazing.
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: So well, everyone is pretty certain that there is going to be a sequel.
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: It had really fantastic fan response.
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: One of the thing I don't know how much of you guys are into the Hallmark mystery world and everything, but there's Mystery 101, which is sort of on this.
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: You know Mount Olympus of mysteries and they always poo, poo every new mystery, and this is the first one I've ever encountered where I did not get these people saying nope, nope, you know, hated, it's not Mystery 101.
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: So I take that as a great sign and just talking to some of the other folks behind there, it seems like you know the ratings were there and everything else.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: So, but that's that aside.
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: What do you guys have coming up?
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: So, serena, why don't you first tell us, would you?
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: Do you have anything in the works that we're gonna see you in?
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: Or you have to shoot in Barbados?
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: or next week or something like that.
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: I wish no.
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: I recently did a feature film here in Toronto.
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: I don't know, I don't know if I can say anything, but it was definitely something that I haven't done before and it was.
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: It was.
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: It was one of those ones like Marisa was saying like you don't think that if your character looks a certain way and then you go on and you're thinking about it the whole time, you're like I don't like.
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: It was like the first time I felt like unsure about myself and what I look like versus like what my character was.
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: So that was definitely some, especially because it was a time period.
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: It was supposed to be Toronto in the early 2000s, late 90s what time period.
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: I'm thinking you're going back to the 1800s.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: No, but that's like a week ago.
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: I think it's like a week ago, but then, like, while doing it, it was so different, like it was, so it was so different.
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: I was like I don't remember it being this different, so it was.
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: I was acting how I would be now, but there were slight different things and it was definitely something that I was like oh, this is interesting and it's also it's a little bit not me, but like it's definitely something.
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: I've never done a feature like that before, so I'm really excited.
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: A little more mature.
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: Yeah, definitely.
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: What about you, aux?
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: What do you have coming up?
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: I'm working on something on the writing and I don't really.
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: I don't really know I can say, but in terms of acting and stuff.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: I've written an original series, a little limited series, and it's called Settle Down and it's about a modern day matchmaker and he's really good at his job.
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: There's sort of a client every episode and he's really terrible in his own marriage and I promise it's funny and we're shooting that over five weeks around like April-May.
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: So I'm in the process of prepping all of that.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: It's the first thing that I have sort of really written on my own that I'm show running, so that's really cool.
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: We're doing that and then that should come out fall of this year, not sure where yet.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: As of right now out TV is one place, but yeah, we're in on another.
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: Awesome.
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: I'm trying to give you a round of applause and I think I like went over you and I'm so sorry, but I feel like that, that's like huge.
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: I feel like you need to like it is your own work.
- 1:13:39Speaker 5: Man, that's the dream and you did it awesome.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: Yes these guys in pitch.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: They they watched as I pitched it, like during the filming.
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: Stop, stop, hang on everyone, I gotta, I gotta do this pitch.
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: He had to like fly he.
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: He flew to BAMP, like midway through the chute, to this like, like pitch conference this like, and he was yeah, alex is a f***ed sale guy.
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: I hope you flew Air Canada so you could listen to some slant.
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: Alright, Sarah, yeah, nothing in the works at the moment, waiting to hear back from a couple things.
- 1:14:26Speaker 6: So who knows?
- 1:14:28Speaker 6: One is in Ottawa, but on Monday I'm flying to Victoria to meet my new nephew.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: That sounds very exciting.
- 1:14:35Speaker 6: I'm a first time auntie, so I'm very like ridiculously excited.
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: Well then, you can tell us about your going back to IMDB.
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: Your award-winning solo show that you wrote and starred in called the Naked Ballerina.
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: That sounds like something that Sabrina may be acting in.
- 1:14:57Speaker 6: Yeah, so that was.
- 1:14:58Speaker 6: I did that originally for the fringe and then brought it back a few times and in fact I do have a screenplay that I'm working on for it like an adaptation.
- 1:15:06Speaker 6: But basically it's about the the dark, again dark, the dark side of the ballet world, like behind the scenes.
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: You know, it's such a good analogy for me, where, as a ballet dancer, you know everything you present is, it's supposed to be as close to perfection as you can present, and so what's behind that in order to make that happen, is oftentimes, you know, not the prettiest.
- 1:15:29Speaker 6: So it's fun to explore that.
- 1:15:31Speaker 6: So that is also an I'm saying take that as inspiration, because I do.
- 1:15:35Speaker 6: I have, I have writing projects that I just haven't taken to the next step.
- 1:15:40Speaker 6: So I need this.
- 1:15:41Speaker 6: This money kick in the butt.
- 1:15:43Speaker 6: So thank you.
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: You guys should connect.
- 1:15:48Speaker 5: Alex is good giving advice.
- 1:15:50Speaker 6: This is recent lunch.
- 1:15:51Speaker 6: You guys should meet and you should chat about your project, because she's 100% reliable.
- 1:15:58Speaker 6: I remember that, but it's you, and I think it was right before you went to ballet too, like it was like right.
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: And Alex.
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: If you need any like things in your rewrites, just look at her, because apparently she's like a matchmaker with everything she's doing.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: I'm sure she's got this innate skill.
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: Alright, marisa, how about you?
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: What do you got going on?
- 1:16:21Speaker 5: I'm currently shooting slash it's.
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: It's a very long, like sometimes when they, when you shoot like when we did shot hallmark it was like, okay, you're gonna come for four weeks and boom, get the thing done and then, depending, this one is a little weather specific and again I can't talk about it.
- 1:16:39Speaker 5: It's a new series, darker than then hallmark, but I think it was like the first, the first block, where my first episode is, like you know, february and March, and the second block is March to July.
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: So I could be kind of in and out a lot, but it's cool.
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: I get to go to Unreal Montréal and practice my French.
- 1:17:04Speaker 6: I don't eat the poutine because it's gross.
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: I will try it.
- 1:17:12Speaker 5: I promise I'll try it but, I okay, I'm gonna try it, I promise, but that's what I'm doing.
- 1:17:18Speaker 5: I'm shooting a thing that I can talk about, but it's cool and that's me.
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: Thanks, guys for sharing so much with this.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: Oh, I'm doing this, but I can't tell you about it.
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: Thanks for great entertainment.
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: It's a tough place when you're an actor.
- 1:17:33Speaker 5: It's the same thing on social media, like what you can, can and can't post, and then you take a bunch of really cute behind the scenes photos and you have all these like I gotta wait till the whole thing comes out.
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: I will say I've been forged enough through some of my now getting to know people where they've shared things with me and then they're like but you can't say anything.
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: And it is the absolute worst when you know something, especially something really cool, and you just can't say it.
- 1:18:00Speaker 6: So we're only thinking of you.
- 1:18:02Speaker 6: Yeah, we're thinking of you, but this for me, because it hasn't actually aired officially in Canada yet.
- 1:18:08Speaker 6: So people are like so who do you play?
- 1:18:10Speaker 6: And I'm like, oh, I play an interior designer named Rachel Teller.
- 1:18:14Speaker 6: Like it's that thing for me where I'm like oh, that's really cool part.
- 1:18:18Speaker 6: But yeah, you'll see, yes, okay.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: Well, I'd like to thank all you guys.
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: It wasn't as chaotic as I was expecting.
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: You guys are all absolutely amazing, justice warriors and whatever jail bird.
- 1:18:33Speaker 5: Justice, that's a good one.
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: Hashtag justice warriors and jail bird.
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: Welcome.
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: Visit you on a visiting day.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: Thank you very much for joining in, and what we're going to do now is because you guys are all Canadian and we do have to do a bilingual.
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: We're going to do this all again in French, so you know, hopefully around for the next hour and a half, for that kind of thing Okay well, thank you all very, very much.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you.
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: Maybe edit out some of the things I said, so that like not everybody hates me because I made a lot of enemies of my comrades.
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: I think I'll use Drake as my soundbite.
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: This is great.
- 1:19:14Speaker 5: Perfect, yeah, uh-huh, that's good.
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: And then I'll end up on a project and be like yo.
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: And then the, the poutine's overrated will be the other one.
- 1:19:22Speaker 5: And the Mounties.
- 1:19:24Speaker 5: Oh man, I just stuck my foot in it quite a few times, yeah.
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: Well, thank you all Love you guys Nice to meet you, thank you.
- 1:19:34Speaker 4: Bye, bye, bye.
