- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to a DM podcast.
- 0:03Speaker 2: We'll try to keep it as nice as we can,
- 0:04Speaker 2: but you might hear the occasional swear word in No
- 0:06Speaker 2: Dribble Don't Tell Mom. Hello, and welcome to the latest
- 0:23Speaker 2: edition of No Dribble, the podcast where we talk about netball,
- 0:26Speaker 2: but we talk about so much more, and the podcast
- 0:28Speaker 2: where this week the logistical exercise to get two people
- 0:32Speaker 2: in front of microphones has been herculean. I'm Carolyn Swindell.
- 0:36Speaker 2: I'm back in Vancouver, about to hit the road in
- 0:40Speaker 2: a couple of hours to get home, and I'm joined by.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Well, I'm Kath Cox and I'm in Sydney. I was
- 0:46Speaker 1: the easiest one to deal with this week.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but we do have an empty microphone again
- 0:53Speaker 2: this week, don't we. Yes.
- 0:55Speaker 1: The boss has been under the pump, to say the least,
- 0:58Speaker 1: and trying to coordinate her and coordinate us was just
- 1:00Speaker 1: never going to happen this week. She will be back
- 1:02Speaker 1: next week. She was devastated from missing last week because
- 1:05Speaker 1: she was out playing with the cows and said it
- 1:09Speaker 1: fell out of her head.
- 1:11Speaker 2: It was just an admin screw up last week, so
- 1:13Speaker 2: we didn't know that. And but yeah, so that's apologies
- 1:17Speaker 2: that we worried everyone about that, But yeah, she's fine.
- 1:20Speaker 2: And this week, with all of the stuff with Whoopi
- 1:22Speaker 2: Goldberg and all of the other broadcast announcements and things,
- 1:26Speaker 2: I'm afraid that we've just had to slipped a little
- 1:28Speaker 2: bit down the priority list. But yeah, she's very apologetic
- 1:31Speaker 2: and we'll be back next week. But we're here.
- 1:34Speaker 1: We could be Hollywood stars. We could be we just
- 1:37Speaker 1: haven't been given an opportunity.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Yeah. I noticed at the Swifts game they were doing
- 1:42Speaker 2: the woop whoop thing. They really should have been doing
- 1:44Speaker 2: the whoopy whoopie thing, shouldn't they.
- 1:45Speaker 1: That's funny because I posted something like that on socials.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Can I get a woop woopie?
- 1:53Speaker 2: Like what you did?
- 1:54Speaker 1: That?
- 1:54Speaker 2: Very good? Who would play in movies? I'm just thinking,
- 1:57Speaker 2: so I reckon for me? It's Jeanine go flow. Have
- 2:01Speaker 2: you ever seen romy and Michelle's high school?
- 2:03Speaker 1: Oh my god, yes it is.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I have the mooney Yeah, and I reckon. We're talking
- 2:11Speaker 2: to Charlie's they're on.
- 2:12Speaker 1: For you'll take that? Oh pardon my friend. Yeah, I'll
- 2:17Speaker 1: just edit that one out of apologize.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I've been so good with my swearing because I've spent
- 2:22Speaker 2: the last four days with dad's reunion buddies. So these
- 2:25Speaker 2: are the people he did his PhD with in the
- 2:28Speaker 2: late sixties early seventies. So they're all getting on and
- 2:31Speaker 2: I have not dropped an f all weekend. I have
- 2:34Speaker 2: been so good. I've been so delightful, looking like everyone's
- 2:39Speaker 2: favorite friend's daughter.
- 2:40Speaker 1: And now how has it been though? How was the reunion?
- 2:43Speaker 2: Oh? It was great. Its look, it's a bit sad
- 2:46Speaker 2: because you know, these guys have we haven't seen these
- 2:48Speaker 2: guys in two years, and and there's for some of
- 2:52Speaker 2: them that two years has aged them quite a lot.
- 2:55Speaker 2: And you know, I was talking to one of the
- 2:57Speaker 2: other daughters there. There were three daughters there now helped
- 3:00Speaker 2: to get their dads to these reunions, the Daughters of
- 3:02Speaker 2: Flurin we call ourselves, and just sort of they're just
- 3:05Speaker 2: one of them's lost her mum, and her mom had
- 3:07Speaker 2: dementia and then lost she lost her mum last year.
- 3:10Speaker 2: And the other one's dad is not looking good. And
- 3:12Speaker 2: it's just it's just a tough time of life, isn't
- 3:15Speaker 2: it that. It's like you you know, I don't want
- 3:18Speaker 2: to make it all about us, but it's like we've
- 3:19Speaker 2: got kids to look after, the parents are getting older.
- 3:22Speaker 2: There's just there's just it's a lot going on. A
- 3:25Speaker 2: lot of people carry a lot of burdens. Now, my
- 3:27Speaker 2: dad's great, my mom's great. We've just had mom's not
- 3:30Speaker 2: here at they're divorced. That would be really weird for
- 3:33Speaker 2: us all to be here together. But you know, I'm
- 3:35Speaker 2: not having to deal with that at the moment. But
- 3:37Speaker 2: it's it's close, and it's just it's just that. But
- 3:39Speaker 2: it's been a fantastic weekend. It's been so nice. And
- 3:43Speaker 2: you know, all these guys, as soon as they get together,
- 3:45Speaker 2: they drop thirty years. You know, they're just yes, yeah,
- 3:48Speaker 2: it's really good.
- 3:49Speaker 1: But if they had time on the ground in the
- 3:51Speaker 1: US to do anything.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I did have time on the ground to get to Walmart.
- 3:56Speaker 2: So I have fulfilled the task that you that you said.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I spent about two hours yesterday walking around Walmart just
- 4:04Speaker 2: looking at all the different stuff. And because it's Fourth
- 4:07Speaker 2: of July coming up soon too, there's a whole lot
- 4:10Speaker 2: of good Fourth of July stuff. But unfortunately I couldn't
- 4:12Speaker 2: bring it back one because I don't have suitcase space.
- 4:14Speaker 2: But also I don't do Fourth of July, but some
- 4:17Speaker 2: really great hats that I put on Instagram.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I was going to say there was looking, but there
- 4:21Speaker 1: was also trying. I saw some here. Oh yeah, ah
- 4:26Speaker 1: love it, but.
- 4:26Speaker 2: No, so yeah, and it's a really beautiful little town, Moscow, Idaho,
- 4:31Speaker 2: And so we went for a great walk. And then
- 4:34Speaker 2: yesterday Dad and I were walking around the university in
- 4:36Speaker 2: the morning and we bumped into a group one of
- 4:38Speaker 2: those big marching bands and they've got the giant, big rigs,
- 4:43Speaker 2: so this looked like a Beyonce tour. They've got all
- 4:45Speaker 2: the massive rigs with all of the theming and whatever,
- 4:48Speaker 2: and they are the Santa Clara Vanguards. Of course I've
- 4:51Speaker 2: been doing investigation into and they're one of thirteen of
- 4:55Speaker 2: these competitive marching bands and they just they called it
- 4:58Speaker 2: a world series, but I'm sure they're all American. But
- 5:01Speaker 2: so we just went and hung out and watched those
- 5:03Speaker 2: guys do some practice for a little bit. Yees, so
- 5:04Speaker 2: you know, the drum major attell the button and all
- 5:08Speaker 2: the drummers and then the brass band and the flag waving.
- 5:12Speaker 2: It was really cool. So they said, oh, come to
- 5:14Speaker 2: our show on Friday. So I'm very happily back home
- 5:17Speaker 2: by Friday.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I love those guys because they often end up in
- 5:20Speaker 1: the bloopers, like on the footy fields and stuff because
- 5:22Speaker 1: players run into them or up they're just in the
- 5:25Speaker 1: way of the action.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Just walking but really athletic stuff though, Like it was
- 5:30Speaker 2: amazing to watch these guys like they are, like they're
- 5:33Speaker 2: great athletic performers as well as so as well as
- 5:36Speaker 2: playing a musical instrument, you've got to be doing all
- 5:39Speaker 2: of that. You've got to carry that musical instrument and
- 5:41Speaker 2: walk around and regulate your breath and then all of
- 5:43Speaker 2: the other you know, the dancing is obviously quite dynamic
- 5:47Speaker 2: and exciting too, so that was it was just it
- 5:49Speaker 2: was fun to see that. And we went for a
- 5:51Speaker 2: wander through town where mum and dad bought a house
- 5:53Speaker 2: and that it was the first house that I lived
- 5:55Speaker 2: in as a little kid. Yeah, and the lady came
- 5:58Speaker 2: out the front and said to Dad do you want
- 5:59Speaker 2: to come in? And he said, look, I won't. Thanks,
- 6:01Speaker 2: but it was really it was very sweet.
- 6:03Speaker 1: So that's very nice of them to do that, because
- 6:05Speaker 1: I would love that. How O were you when you
- 6:06Speaker 1: left there? Did you remember that at all?
- 6:08Speaker 2: I have no recollection of it. At all, Like we
- 6:10Speaker 2: moved to Australia before. I was two and a half
- 6:12Speaker 2: when I moved to Australia, so I have no recollections.
- 6:15Speaker 2: My brother does, so, oh.
- 6:17Speaker 1: My, that's so cool.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yeah it was nice, but I was so excited that
- 6:21Speaker 2: I reckon, thank you. I'm excited to be home. I
- 6:24Speaker 2: discovered something in Vancouver that I think you're going to like.
- 6:27Speaker 2: It is another type of coffee. We talked about the
- 6:29Speaker 2: Magic coffee that I learnt about in Melbourne a couple
- 6:31Speaker 2: of months ago. Someone I heard someone ordering a Spanish latte.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Have you heard of this?
- 6:37Speaker 1: No? But has it got chili in it or something?
- 6:39Speaker 2: It does not. It does have though condensed milk.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Now that's Vitnamese coffee as well.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Well yeah, I think it is. So it's half milk
- 6:47Speaker 2: half half condensed milk. But maybe in the northern Hemmers, well,
- 6:51Speaker 2: Vietnam is in the northern Hemisphere. I don't know. Maybe
- 6:53Speaker 2: in North America they have to have a different name
- 6:55Speaker 2: for it.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I don't know that I would try. I would definitely
- 6:59Speaker 1: try it. That's a lie, that's not something you'd commit
- 7:01Speaker 1: to because I could imagine that would be did you
- 7:02Speaker 1: try it? Is it super sweet.
- 7:04Speaker 2: No I didn't try it. No, I don't. Yeah, I'm
- 7:06Speaker 2: not a condensed milk fan, but there was When I
- 7:08Speaker 2: heard condensed milk, there was one person I thought.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Of, Yeah, thank you, I appreciate that. Can I what's
- 7:13Speaker 1: it called? Spanish?
- 7:15Speaker 2: Spanish lattes?
- 7:16Speaker 1: Spanish latte? Hold the and the milk?
- 7:18Speaker 2: Yes. I wonder what would happen if you tried to
- 7:21Speaker 2: order it in Sydney though, where the people would look
- 7:23Speaker 2: askance at you.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Highly likely like they do every other day.
- 7:29Speaker 2: But you you've been traveling too, I have.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I had two games in Queensland, which was delightful because
- 7:34Speaker 1: the fan BAM's up there, so I always go up
- 7:36Speaker 1: a little bit earlier if I can spend some time
- 7:38Speaker 1: with the folks. Took Dad out on the boat and
- 7:42Speaker 1: had a lovely day. Went to the prawn Traller got
- 7:45Speaker 1: some fresh prawns off the trawler in Queensland. What kind
- 7:49Speaker 1: of life is that? I was delightful, And then drove
- 7:52Speaker 1: up to the Sunny Coast for the first game up there,
- 7:56Speaker 1: which now I can't remember the lightning and the vixen's
- 7:59Speaker 1: yep that was, And then back to Bosbourne for the
- 8:02Speaker 1: lowest game of the Round. Yes, so it was a
- 8:03Speaker 1: big weekend. It was good fun because I got to
- 8:05Speaker 1: catch up with people and had dinner with Megan Anderson
- 8:08Speaker 1: and stuff afterwards.
- 8:09Speaker 2: It was great. But the games fantastic, incredible, so exciting,
- 8:14Speaker 2: and I was able to catch a number of them.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I caught the back end of the of the Fever
- 8:18Speaker 2: Thunderbirds game because I had to get up at three
- 8:21Speaker 2: point thirty to get it at International Flight, So that
- 8:23Speaker 2: was good. And I've watched the Swifts and Giants game,
- 8:25Speaker 2: which was great, and I've watched the Lightning Vixens. I
- 8:28Speaker 2: haven't watched the MAVs and the and the Firebirds game
- 8:31Speaker 2: because I got cross at both of them. So, like Maps,
- 8:33Speaker 2: I'd been tipping you for weeks and you gave me nothing. Firebirds,
- 8:36Speaker 2: I needed you to step up for me. So I
- 8:39Speaker 2: did get round right, No, I don't want't.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Did many people?
- 8:44Speaker 2: Yes? One hundred and forty two people got banking go
- 8:47Speaker 2: this week?
- 8:48Speaker 1: Okay?
- 8:49Speaker 2: Got zero? Oh?
- 8:50Speaker 1: Really? Okay? Yeah that's tough, isn't it to be honest,
- 8:55Speaker 1: I'm not even watching anymore. I know it's not pretty,
- 8:57Speaker 1: but that Firebirds t Birds game, God, how good was that? Still?
- 9:00Speaker 1: Even at three quarter times. Yeah, what do I say?
- 9:05Speaker 2: You said, five birds? You're human like the rest of us, Catherine.
- 9:10Speaker 2: It makes us feel makes us feel better.
- 9:13Speaker 1: But it's funny though, because that game was on a
- 9:14Speaker 1: Friday night, and Gordy said it was a real quite
- 9:18Speaker 1: a different atmosphere because it was a Friday night. It
- 9:20Speaker 1: was party mode.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Yeah great, which I thought, so.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Cool, isn't it? And we used to play on a
- 9:25Speaker 1: Friday night and I do remember loving that because not
- 9:28Speaker 1: only is it Friday night, and then you get to
- 9:30Speaker 1: go out and have a bit of a party time
- 9:32Speaker 1: yourself with your team, knowing you've got no commitments on
- 9:35Speaker 1: the weekend, but you've also got no commitments on the weekend.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Yeah, so good.
- 9:40Speaker 1: So it was great to see that over there. And
- 9:41Speaker 1: she said that the crowd just was different, vible together.
- 9:44Speaker 1: It was unreal.
- 9:45Speaker 2: The Tea Birds tried to ruin that party though, didn't they.
- 9:47Speaker 2: That was amazing.
- 9:48Speaker 1: So good.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Okay, so we really do need to talk about this
- 9:58Speaker 2: as time management, don't you think.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Liz Ellis's Yeah, yeah, I mean last week was a
- 10:03Speaker 1: bit of a disaster. But as she did say, because
- 10:05Speaker 1: we changed the time and it fell out of her
- 10:08Speaker 1: head like it wasn't written now, Dara, and she forgot
- 10:10Speaker 1: and she was playing with cows. I don't know why
- 10:11Speaker 1: the cows get more attention than nas these days, but
- 10:13Speaker 1: that's fine.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Well, we change the time because of me. So we
- 10:16Speaker 2: do this every week at twelve o'clock on a Monday.
- 10:19Speaker 2: It's a fairly rigid routine, except if someone has to
- 10:21Speaker 2: travel or whatever else. But she just went, am I.
- 10:24Speaker 2: But we had quite a lot of people on the
- 10:26Speaker 2: Facebook page going is she all right? Is she fine?
- 10:28Speaker 2: Because of course you and I were clueless through the
- 10:30Speaker 2: whole episode. And then quite soon thereafter she rang back
- 10:32Speaker 2: and went, oh, yep, sorry, my bad, just completely forgot.
- 10:36Speaker 2: But yeah, this week's legitimate means. But she's promised that
- 10:38Speaker 2: she'll be here next week.
- 10:40Speaker 1: She has, so we better keep it at a normal
- 10:41Speaker 1: time next week. But she got She so busy because
- 10:43Speaker 1: there's lots going on at the moment. How good was
- 10:46Speaker 1: the Whoopee girl make announcement?
- 10:48Speaker 2: It's so exciting, isn't it so? But there's actually there's
- 10:51Speaker 2: been too broadcast announcements this week, hasn't it.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yeah, so the way the Whoopee one came about though,
- 10:56Speaker 1: So she owns or is part owner of the All
- 10:59Speaker 1: Women and Sports networks. So awsn they totally it's such
- 11:07Speaker 1: such a good movie. Anyway, So apparently they had seen
- 11:11Speaker 1: their team had seen netball on social media and they
- 11:13Speaker 1: were the ones that reached out and contacted Netball Australia.
- 11:17Speaker 1: And then Stacy West was heard saying that the first
- 11:21Speaker 1: few minutes of the conversation was trying to distinguish basketball
- 11:24Speaker 1: from netball for the Americans and then it kind of
- 11:28Speaker 1: went from there. But I mean, how good that it's
- 11:30Speaker 1: now available in sixty five countries, like over two billion
- 11:34Speaker 1: people have access to now watch the netball. They going
- 11:38Speaker 1: to love it because it's totally, totally and apparently.
- 11:41Speaker 2: It's not four hours, you know, it's like it's a
- 11:44Speaker 2: really accessible, digestible product.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and the big push is now to get Whoopy
- 11:49Speaker 1: to the Gold to the Gold to the Grand Final
- 11:52Speaker 1: in Melbourne?
- 11:52Speaker 2: What this year?
- 11:53Speaker 1: This year?
- 11:55Speaker 2: How good would that be?
- 11:56Speaker 1: I know, I can't imagine a massive superstarle like I
- 11:58Speaker 1: is getting on a fifteen hour light to come and
- 12:00Speaker 1: watch one hour of netball, But we can all cross
- 12:02Speaker 1: our fingers and hope that that's going to happen.
- 12:05Speaker 2: But you know, maybe a test or something. At some
- 12:07Speaker 2: stage she might be able to weave it in with
- 12:09Speaker 2: a one hour stand up show supported by a young
- 12:12Speaker 2: up and coming not so young up.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I was going to say young.
- 12:17Speaker 2: In terms of career young. Okay, totally well, and you've
- 12:20Speaker 2: got to remember I've just spent the weekend with eighty
- 12:22Speaker 2: four year olds, so man, I'm young, fresh faced, gorgeous.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Look at you with all your energy and your usefulness, so.
- 12:28Speaker 1: True with your top on that you've got your guns
- 12:30Speaker 1: out too, I can.
- 12:32Speaker 2: It's been cold. It's meant to be cold. It's meant
- 12:35Speaker 2: to be hot, and it was hot the week before
- 12:37Speaker 2: we got there, and it started to get hot today
- 12:39Speaker 2: and we'll be hot for the next week. But we
- 12:41Speaker 2: had a cold weekend, so some of the people who
- 12:44Speaker 2: were there had to go to Walmart to buy some
- 12:46Speaker 2: warm clothes because they just come for the weekend and
- 12:48Speaker 2: it's usually stinking hot.
- 12:50Speaker 1: When you say cold, what's cold.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Tender Grace?
- 12:53Speaker 1: Oh god, really?
- 12:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I could have had this at home.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it's actually been quite nicey. It was beautiful Queensland.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I packed a massive suitcase with jumpers and jeans and
- 13:03Speaker 1: just taking Sydneys weather up there. But it didn't use.
- 13:05Speaker 1: One of them was magic. But anyway, back to whoopee
- 13:07Speaker 1: just quickly. Of course, the good thing about this is
- 13:10Speaker 1: that we now look far more global in terms of
- 13:13Speaker 1: our reach, which is a good thing for our Olympic push. Yes, yes,
- 13:18Speaker 1: so hopefully that is all working out.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Did I also see Nagota? Remember I've been in the
- 13:23Speaker 2: US and no one I have had a lot of
- 13:25Speaker 2: comp I've had to try to describe what netball is
- 13:28Speaker 2: a number of times in the last week, which makes
- 13:29Speaker 2: me sad. But so we're not getting a lot of news.
- 13:33Speaker 2: But there's a change. Are We're having World Cups every
- 13:35Speaker 2: two years now?
- 13:36Speaker 1: Yes, so after twenty twenty seven it will be every
- 13:39Speaker 1: two years after that, which will be interesting. I wasn't
- 13:43Speaker 1: entirely sure how I felt about that at the time.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it either.
- 13:48Speaker 2: I love the specialness of it, this four year cycle,
- 13:51Speaker 2: you know, like the Olympics, the Soccer World Cup, the
- 13:54Speaker 2: Rugby World Cup. These are all four year things and
- 13:57Speaker 2: that makes them so special. So I'm sure that smarter
- 14:00Speaker 2: nepule brains than mine have got good logic behind it.
- 14:03Speaker 2: But I heard that moment. Oh okay, it's just like
- 14:06Speaker 2: a decent test series then every two years. Yeah.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Look, I think one of the things is that the
- 14:10Speaker 1: Commonwealth Games I think has proven this year, well the
- 14:14Speaker 1: last couple of years around the discussion is quite fragile.
- 14:17Speaker 1: That might not be there forever, which means we only
- 14:20Speaker 1: have one major tournament to play in. So in that regard,
- 14:22Speaker 1: I think it would be good. But it's also you know,
- 14:24Speaker 1: in terms of offering for future broadcast deals or for
- 14:28Speaker 1: for this network now that we're a part of. It's
- 14:30Speaker 1: just it's more viewership, isn't it. There's more things to
- 14:33Speaker 1: look at, there's more things to get excited about, and
- 14:35Speaker 1: more ways to market the game. So I mean that
- 14:37Speaker 1: I understand, But yeah, it does lose a little bit
- 14:40Speaker 1: of its shine, doesn't it make.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Can you hear what's going on in that? I can hear? Yeah,
- 14:45Speaker 2: So I'm I am Now, I'm in I'm in Vancouver
- 14:48Speaker 2: Airport and there's a Fairmont Hotel here. It's fantastic, Like
- 14:51Speaker 2: you just it's like straight out over oh god exception that. Yeah,
- 14:55Speaker 2: if we stayed here the night before our flight and
- 14:56Speaker 2: I went to the gym and it's great look out
- 14:58Speaker 2: over it's kind of cool to just look out to
- 15:00Speaker 2: working airport. But I'm upstairs in there for you, which
- 15:03Speaker 2: was very quiet. And then when I sat down, and
- 15:06Speaker 2: then immediately and large families come and started playing cards
- 15:11Speaker 2: near me. It's like, that's fine, it's a public space.
- 15:13Speaker 2: But now like there's a band going.
- 15:18Speaker 1: What time of day is it?
- 15:19Speaker 2: Oh, my great planning, I don't know what time is it.
- 15:21Speaker 2: It's ten to eight, so it's a perfectly reasonable hour
- 15:24Speaker 2: for a band to be playing. And I thought, oh,
- 15:26Speaker 2: we'll go, We'll go up stairs. Because of course, trying
- 15:28Speaker 2: to find somewhere in an airport and the flight that
- 15:31Speaker 2: I've come in on from Seattle was delayed, I would
- 15:34Speaker 2: have hoped to get through and get into the Air
- 15:35Speaker 2: Canada lounge and have a glass of wine in my hand.
- 15:38Speaker 2: But I thought, oh, very clever, I'll go upstairs to
- 15:40Speaker 2: that very quiet hotel lobby and here we are, so
- 15:43Speaker 2: apologies if that's blasting away, and the magran's quite pleasant.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Get amongst it, Go to the bar yourself a drink.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Well, I've sent Dad to the bar, so.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Stay there for half an hour.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Dad, I'm busy, Yeah, I've got to I've just got
- 15:57Speaker 2: to go and chat with my mates. One of the things.
- 16:00Speaker 2: And I don't know whether you find this when you
- 16:01Speaker 2: come to North America. I'm in a constant state of
- 16:04Speaker 2: tension about tipping because I just don't know.
- 16:09Speaker 1: But anymore, anyone who.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Has cash anymore, that's right. So I had to get
- 16:14Speaker 2: some cash when we're in the US, and we weren't
- 16:15Speaker 2: in the US for long, we were mostly in Canada.
- 16:18Speaker 2: I went and got some cash because I know it's
- 16:20Speaker 2: still a much more cash society. But then I've got
- 16:23Speaker 2: a couple of twenty dollars eights, so I don't want
- 16:25Speaker 2: to give someone at twenty. So you know, whenever you
- 16:27Speaker 2: have a meal or whatever, you can just put it
- 16:28Speaker 2: on the bill and round it up. But it's like,
- 16:32Speaker 2: where do you tip for Like if you go to
- 16:34Speaker 2: a counter and order a coffee and then it's like
- 16:37Speaker 2: it'll be over there, and then it comes up on
- 16:39Speaker 2: the card and do you want to leave a tip?
- 16:40Speaker 2: And it's like, well, I don't really because I don't.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I don't feel like that's a tipping transaction. But also
- 16:48Speaker 2: you've just heard my Australian accent, and I know that
- 16:50Speaker 2: we have a reputation as being lousy tippers, So I
- 16:53Speaker 2: don't want to be buying into that, but it's just
- 16:54Speaker 2: a constant state of stress and not helped by the
- 16:58Speaker 2: fact that a war started again. So I don't want
- 17:01Speaker 2: to make light of that. But it's like I really
- 17:02Speaker 2: wish I was home Ministralia right now.
- 17:04Speaker 1: But yeah, no, I hear. On the tipping thing, that's confusing.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Do they not do it in Canada as much?
- 17:09Speaker 2: They do? They do tip in Canada, but it's much
- 17:11Speaker 2: less cash, so it was much more on the tap
- 17:17Speaker 2: and go things. Then you don't have to be handing
- 17:20Speaker 2: around bits of cash.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Yeah, get out of there, Get out of it at home, Get.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Out of there. I'm on my way home. I will
- 17:28Speaker 2: be home. I will be home very soon. And we've
- 17:30Speaker 2: got another awesome round of netball to talk about. But
- 17:33Speaker 2: I just want to talk about the tipping this week
- 17:35Speaker 2: because things are getting hot in the tipping comp We
- 17:39Speaker 2: no longer have one person sitting in the league quidditch, Yes, yes,
- 17:45Speaker 2: now sits with Taylor, Crayfish and Fascinator. All three of
- 17:49Speaker 2: them are on forty two points. Then we have three
- 17:52Speaker 2: people on forty one points and six people on forty points.
- 17:55Speaker 2: So it's getting lord super exciting. So the two two
- 18:00Speaker 2: who've now joined. I prefer Quidditch in first place. Both
- 18:03Speaker 2: tip perfect rounds this week, and I prefer Quiditch. I
- 18:07Speaker 2: need tip three, which is a perfectly acceptable tipping score
- 18:10Speaker 2: for this round. I'll have to say, yeah, but that's
- 18:13Speaker 2: that's coming in hard, and of course I have to
- 18:15Speaker 2: do the Melle update. Melle is still sitting in front
- 18:18Speaker 2: of five hundred and fifty first scored one point this
- 18:21Speaker 2: week and is sitting on fifteen points. The next clostest
- 18:25Speaker 2: person is sitting on nineteen points. So if we had
- 18:29Speaker 2: a tipping comp about who was going to come last
- 18:31Speaker 2: in the tipping comp, I would be putting it all
- 18:33Speaker 2: on Melly to bring home the golden turkey.
- 18:36Speaker 1: But it's hard to tip at the top though. Isn't
- 18:38Speaker 1: that far out heading towards the pointy end of the
- 18:42Speaker 1: season and bringing out their best game like the needy
- 18:44Speaker 1: teams are well done, team I thought I'd slipped. I
- 18:47Speaker 1: did have a quick look and saw that I'd slipped
- 18:49Speaker 1: down the list considerable.
- 18:50Speaker 2: You are in twenty sixth place, so it's still looking
- 18:54Speaker 2: like you'll be buying lunch for the rest of us.
- 18:55Speaker 2: So that's great.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I'll be buying lunch. Is that.
- 18:57Speaker 2: How wasn't it run on the way? I'm sure that's
- 19:01Speaker 2: what we said. Well, so we need to talk about
- 19:04Speaker 2: the bylaws on this, because of course obviously that's le'z.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Gordy's sitting at three hundred and sixty first on the
- 19:10Speaker 2: same score as me, and I'm three hundred and seventy fifth.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I can't remember what we're on, twenty seven points or
- 19:14Speaker 2: something quite meager. And then Liz is somewhere way down
- 19:18Speaker 2: the back. But of course, as the chair of NEPAUL Australia,
- 19:20Speaker 2: she didn't want to be seen to be being partial,
- 19:22Speaker 2: so she's just gone with the home games and that's
- 19:26Speaker 2: not doing particularly well. So I don't know. I don't
- 19:29Speaker 2: know what we do about this lunch. It's bloody looking
- 19:31Speaker 2: like me again, isn't it.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Gordy's going to have to fly a butt over to
- 19:36Speaker 1: the East coast and contubute. I think though, by the
- 19:38Speaker 1: sound of this, it's between you two, okay either way.
- 19:41Speaker 1: I'll starting out the five star Michelin restaurants.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Well, there's a nice one here with a band on
- 19:49Speaker 2: Monday night.
- 19:49Speaker 1: We'll come to you. I can't afford the tips yet.
- 19:53Speaker 2: We don't know what we're doing this is the thing,
- 19:55Speaker 2: you know, with the tips, and then you're trying to
- 19:57Speaker 2: cross the road and you're looking the wrong way. It's like,
- 19:59Speaker 2: oh god, they're coming to the other direction. Like all
- 20:01Speaker 2: your instincts are wrong in North America.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, like you think it's a good idea to have
- 20:06Speaker 1: a Starbucks.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I have not had a Starbuck. I have had
- 20:10Speaker 2: some very good flat white coffee. So that is a
- 20:13Speaker 2: great leap forward from the last time I was here
- 20:15Speaker 2: two years ago.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Okay, goodbye. Yeah, but on the least, I just actually
- 20:19Speaker 1: booked flights to Dubai a little bit later in the year,
- 20:22Speaker 1: going with Meghan Anderson, which will be great fun, a
- 20:24Speaker 1: little bit of a girl's troop. But then as you
- 20:26Speaker 1: say this, you know, this wall is broken out. And
- 20:29Speaker 1: I noticed today they stopped flights from Doha in and
- 20:32Speaker 1: out of Doha.
- 20:33Speaker 2: It's I think now, but yeah, where are you going?
- 20:37Speaker 1: Months in September not overly long away, but I'm looking
- 20:41Speaker 1: forward to I want to go into the desert and
- 20:43Speaker 1: do the classic you know, camel Ryde and yes, a
- 20:48Speaker 1: little bit of shopping just whatever. We're actually staying with
- 20:51Speaker 1: a netballer that we used to play with, who's been
- 20:53Speaker 1: over there for at least ten years. Norell Garbet used
- 20:57Speaker 1: to play with the kestrels, and Megan and I talked
- 21:00Speaker 1: about of ages that we want to get over there
- 21:02Speaker 1: while she's still there, because you're to have someone on
- 21:05Speaker 1: the ground that knows the place.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Have you ever been there?
- 21:08Speaker 1: No? I haven't eat and out for you know, at
- 21:11Speaker 1: airports and stuff, but not.
- 21:12Speaker 2: It is a crazy place. It's it's absurd. It's like
- 21:16Speaker 2: this should not exist. It's it's just it's this huge
- 21:20Speaker 2: city in this very hostile place. But if you get
- 21:24Speaker 2: a chance, and I know you're not, you're not taking
- 21:27Speaker 2: this is a kid free trip on. Yeah, there's an
- 21:30Speaker 2: awesome water park in Dubai that I would be happy
- 21:34Speaker 2: to go back to time and time again.
- 21:35Speaker 1: At that Atlantis Is it.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Atlantis the Palm? Yeah, right right next to that.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Well, we're staying at the Palm, which is great, but
- 21:44Speaker 1: you have to go.
- 21:44Speaker 2: It's so fun. It's really it's Ordinarily I would say
- 21:47Speaker 2: don't go to a water park if you don't have kids,
- 21:49Speaker 2: but it's really good. I love this one called the
- 21:54Speaker 2: Leap of Faith I think it's called. And it's near
- 21:56Speaker 2: vertical and I'm terrified at times, and so I just
- 21:59Speaker 2: I charge up there. We were there in winter, which
- 22:02Speaker 2: was still quite warm, but meant there was no one there.
- 22:05Speaker 2: And I charged up, and I wasn't looking out to
- 22:07Speaker 2: the sides, because you know, you can see out there
- 22:09Speaker 2: open stairwells, you can see outside, So just looking at
- 22:11Speaker 2: the stairs, I went straight up and I got up there.
- 22:14Speaker 2: I thought, I've got to go straight on. And then
- 22:15Speaker 2: there's these two girls going and one going, oh you go,
- 22:18Speaker 2: no you go, and I'm like, I get out of
- 22:20Speaker 2: my way, and they went, do you want to go
- 22:21Speaker 2: to it?
- 22:21Speaker 1: Yes?
- 22:21Speaker 2: I do. So I got up there and I sort
- 22:24Speaker 2: of sat in the position and the young woman who
- 22:26Speaker 2: was running and said, do you want me to give
- 22:28Speaker 2: you a sharp and I said yes please. So you
- 22:31Speaker 2: have to cross your arms over your body and cross
- 22:33Speaker 2: your feet at the ankles and it drops. It's a
- 22:36Speaker 2: near vertical thing, and then you end up shooting through
- 22:38Speaker 2: a shark tank. I mean you're in a perspects tube,
- 22:41Speaker 2: so there's no sharks in the same pit of water
- 22:43Speaker 2: with you, and it's all over, you know, obviously very briefly.
- 22:47Speaker 2: And I got to the bottom and I sort of
- 22:49Speaker 2: feeling pretty good.
- 22:50Speaker 1: And closes out of my ars.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, well, and you know I was breastfeeding at
- 22:55Speaker 2: this stage, so I'm all sorts of mess at this stage.
- 22:57Speaker 2: But I got out and I said to the guy,
- 23:00Speaker 2: was that fine? And I said yeah, I said, did
- 23:01Speaker 2: I screamed? I said, oh, yes, madam, very loud.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Those things freak me out though, because do you feel
- 23:08Speaker 1: like the top of you is going to lean forward
- 23:10Speaker 1: and you're going to overshoot the rum way when you
- 23:12Speaker 1: go because it's not vertical, right.
- 23:13Speaker 2: But it's not actually vertical, it's just not enough of
- 23:16Speaker 2: an angle. Have you been to questera con in Sydney
- 23:19Speaker 2: in Candra No, So that's great too. And they've got
- 23:22Speaker 2: this little thing there that you do and it's a
- 23:25Speaker 2: dead hang, so you have to put these overalls on
- 23:29Speaker 2: because it's a like a stainless steel slide and it's
- 23:33Speaker 2: almost vertical, but then it just catches you. So you
- 23:36Speaker 2: get this. It's all free fall, I think. So you
- 23:38Speaker 2: hop off the thing and you hang on the bar
- 23:40Speaker 2: and then you let go and you slide down and
- 23:41Speaker 2: you feel like you've got free fall just for a
- 23:43Speaker 2: fraction of a second, and then the curve of it
- 23:46Speaker 2: catches you. It's very it's very fun. It's such a
- 23:48Speaker 2: strange feeling to go. I'm seeking this feeling of falling,
- 23:53Speaker 2: which you know as someone who's scared of heights, that's
- 23:55Speaker 2: the thing I'm most scared of. But then I go
- 23:56Speaker 2: and do stuff like that and go, oh it's fun.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I would never get on that ride. Liz did the
- 24:01Speaker 1: same one when we went to Wet and Wild or
- 24:03Speaker 1: whatever it's called in Queensland together, that vertical one year
- 24:06Speaker 1: get in the perspects box just away.
- 24:10Speaker 2: I've just remembered the roller coasters that you're willing to go.
- 24:13Speaker 2: I was getting surprised then that you wouldn't do that.
- 24:16Speaker 2: I'm much braver in the water parks than I am
- 24:18Speaker 2: on the on the normal water. I don't know, maybe
- 24:20Speaker 2: just because.
- 24:21Speaker 1: You know there's a soft landing coming in the water.
- 24:24Speaker 1: It's the sharks. Okay, I'll put that on the list,
- 24:27Speaker 1: but I'll be going in the Lazy River and the
- 24:28Speaker 1: nice cruisy one.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Yeah. Look, I don't know if water parks aren't everyone's
- 24:34Speaker 2: cup of tea, but I think if you get the
- 24:36Speaker 2: right one and it's not super crowded, they could be
- 24:38Speaker 2: a lot of fun and a lot of fun. If
- 24:41Speaker 2: you're not doing it with kids, and you can just go, well,
- 24:42Speaker 2: let's just do this one, let's do this one, let's
- 24:44Speaker 2: do that one. Yeah, I have to go to the
- 24:46Speaker 2: toilet all for it.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I'm excited. The only problem is I booked the flights
- 24:53Speaker 1: and I did it via the Quantus app, and I
- 24:54Speaker 1: thought I'll just upgrade using all my points later on.
- 24:58Speaker 1: But they booked me on an Emirates flight. So when
- 25:00Speaker 1: I went to upgrade, they said, no, no, you can't
- 25:02Speaker 1: upgrade because it's a code share airline, which means I'm
- 25:05Speaker 1: now an economy for fourteen hours. So the next thing
- 25:07Speaker 1: I did was go and buy one of those wrap
- 25:10Speaker 1: around neck pillows. It looks like you're in the middle
- 25:13Speaker 1: of a lawsuit, you know those neck braces.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, the turtle, but it's like a turdle.
- 25:18Speaker 1: No, it's called a fly hugs or something or other.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yep, but it's full velcrow round jipeck. I thought,
- 25:24Speaker 1: if I'm sitting in economy for fourteen hours, this is
- 25:26Speaker 1: going to be my new best friend. I'm going to
- 25:28Speaker 1: get right.
- 25:29Speaker 2: I'm anticipating a happy ending for you here. First of all,
- 25:31Speaker 2: I hear Emirates' economy is pretty good anyway, But okay,
- 25:34Speaker 2: I don't know. I just I just feel like for
- 25:36Speaker 2: Catherine Cox, the stars will align and some some upgrade
- 25:40Speaker 2: might happen.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I've tried it on your own, yeap, traveling on my
- 25:43Speaker 1: own to get there because she Megan's going out of Queensland,
- 25:46Speaker 1: so that's okay.
- 25:48Speaker 2: I'll put on pants too, your fourteen hours on your own, like, yeah, it's.
- 25:54Speaker 1: A bit over my own company within a couple I.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Tell you what I didn't like. On the way over,
- 25:59Speaker 2: and because because Dads asked me to come with him,
- 26:03Speaker 2: Dad brought us business class, which is so good now
- 26:07Speaker 2: you can get Wi Fi on the plane. So as
- 26:09Speaker 2: you know, I was able to do quite a bit
- 26:12Speaker 2: of work, which was good. But then I watched a
- 26:14Speaker 2: movie and I had a few wines, and then did
- 26:17Speaker 2: I send you and Lise emotional messages about this movie
- 26:20Speaker 2: that you have to watch that had moved me so
- 26:22Speaker 2: much and that I was so I can't even remember
- 26:24Speaker 2: what the bloody thing was now, but I remember at
- 26:26Speaker 2: the time going, I have to tell everyone about this movie.
- 26:29Speaker 2: It's so beautiful. I can't remember.
- 26:32Speaker 1: But that's what you get. That's the problem with business
- 26:34Speaker 1: class isn't it. Because as much as you think.
- 26:36Speaker 2: I don't show business class, oh.
- 26:39Speaker 1: No, But like you think you should make the most
- 26:40Speaker 1: of the ability to sleep and lie down, but I
- 26:42Speaker 1: also want to make the most of the free flowing
- 26:44Speaker 1: champagne and all the great food, and to stay up
- 26:46Speaker 1: and eat all the food and play with all the gadgets.
- 26:50Speaker 2: I was working for the Northern Territory government in the nineties,
- 26:52Speaker 2: and I was working for a minister there and we
- 26:54Speaker 2: had to fly to He was a Minister of Asian Relations,
- 26:57Speaker 2: Trade and Industry, and we had meetings one day in
- 26:59Speaker 2: seeing a Or and then the next day in Japan.
- 27:02Speaker 2: So they booked us. They booked us first class, which
- 27:06Speaker 2: is not it's probably more like what business class is now.
- 27:09Speaker 2: It's not it's not like these sweets or anything. But
- 27:12Speaker 2: the whole idea was, we'll send you on this business
- 27:15Speaker 2: first class so you can get a decent nightset. Not
- 27:17Speaker 2: one wink of sleep did I get? It's like this
- 27:21Speaker 2: because the first first time for me up the front
- 27:23Speaker 2: of the plane, it's like, would I like don Peranion
- 27:25Speaker 2: or would I like crue?
- 27:26Speaker 1: Well?
- 27:27Speaker 2: Would I have both? Yeah? And would you like to
- 27:30Speaker 2: try this? Would you like, would you like something else
- 27:32Speaker 2: from the snack menu now that you've just had this?
- 27:34Speaker 2: And not yes, I would? I want that.
- 27:36Speaker 1: I want that you And do you do what I
- 27:37Speaker 1: do and fill your bag with all the amenities and
- 27:39Speaker 1: everything you can get your hands on.
- 27:41Speaker 2: They're just getting They're just they're just getting a little
- 27:44Speaker 2: bit misily with that. Now. I'm trying to I'm trying
- 27:47Speaker 2: to scroll back and see if I can remember the
- 27:49Speaker 2: name of this movie. But my god, it's called Spoiler
- 27:52Speaker 2: Alert and it starts Jim Parsons, who was Sheldon in
- 27:54Speaker 2: The Big Bang Theory.
- 27:55Speaker 1: And I'm not sure I could watch him in another movie.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Oh it's so beautiful. It's a gay love story. It's
- 28:02Speaker 2: just it's so it's so gorgeous. Anyway, well worth it,
- 28:06Speaker 2: but it's just funny. You know, you get on a plane,
- 28:08Speaker 2: you've got altitude and alcohol, and your emotions just go
- 28:12Speaker 2: out the window. So Pete and I were flying to
- 28:16Speaker 2: Canns years ago and we were sitting this is Before Kids,
- 28:22Speaker 2: and we watched r V, you know, the Robin Williams movie.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Were here going, Yeah, you were crying in that chat.
- 28:32Speaker 2: You know a few I didn't have children, and I
- 28:36Speaker 2: was going on holiday, so that's why.
- 28:38Speaker 1: You were crying.
- 28:44Speaker 2: You talk about this round?
- 28:45Speaker 1: Yes, can I do a quick shout out before we
- 28:47Speaker 1: do that to.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Kim Irvin Ashes Mom Ashes mum ye. So on the weekend,
- 28:54Speaker 2: an't you.
- 28:55Speaker 1: No, I'm not well? No, because she's She's made me
- 28:58Speaker 1: feel a little bit better about a massive that I
- 29:00Speaker 1: made on the weekend. So the Sunshine Coast Lighting brought
- 29:04Speaker 1: in a Scottish thistle to replace Caracan. So you know
- 29:09Speaker 1: moonboot Gate and Cara Kane when she had crutches this weekend,
- 29:13Speaker 1: it's escalated. It's bad. I don't really she'll play the
- 29:16Speaker 1: end of the season looking at that anyway, So they
- 29:18Speaker 1: bring in this six foot six goal shooter from Scotland
- 29:22Speaker 1: apparently was on the ground already playing in the Premier League. Anyway,
- 29:26Speaker 1: they shot to Emma Barry's her name. They shot to
- 29:28Speaker 1: Emma on the bench. She's the twin of Ash, the
- 29:34Speaker 1: absolute twins. So they shot to her and I was like, oh,
- 29:37Speaker 1: ash Irvan, you know, sitting on the bench she's been
- 29:39Speaker 1: And then I looked on the court and Ashes on
- 29:40Speaker 1: the court and Kia bumps me and goes, no, that's
- 29:44Speaker 1: Emma Barry and I'm like, oh my lord. Anyway, Ki
- 29:48Speaker 1: Kim got in touch with me and said, don't worry.
- 29:50Speaker 1: We laugh when you heard what you'd said. But we
- 29:53Speaker 1: have been fooled by her as well. Yes exactly. I
- 29:56Speaker 1: was like, if you care for your mom, then I'm
- 29:58Speaker 1: off the hook.
- 30:00Speaker 2: That's not bad to have two Ashurban lookalikes in your
- 30:04Speaker 2: team at the same time. I mean, it wasn't enough
- 30:06Speaker 2: for them, but you know that's that's that's an embarrassment
- 30:09Speaker 2: of riches there.
- 30:10Speaker 1: I know half their life.
- 30:12Speaker 2: That's so funny. So I thought, because I'm an idiot,
- 30:15Speaker 2: when you said she's the twin of Ashurban, so you know,
- 30:18Speaker 2: we've got all these buddy sisters, the Cransburgs, Yes, and
- 30:21Speaker 2: the hinchcliff side in realize there were two of them.
- 30:23Speaker 2: I just thought it was the same person I was
- 30:25Speaker 2: looking at all the time in different positions. So when
- 30:27Speaker 2: you said she's the twin of Ashurban, Oh, okay, she
- 30:30Speaker 2: must be a Shurban's twin sister.
- 30:32Speaker 1: No, she's legitimately looking twin. It's crazy.
- 30:38Speaker 2: She's a doppel ganger. So one of these play the
- 30:40Speaker 2: other in the movie. Yes, I don't know either of them.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Want to be want to act. But yeah, so before
- 30:47Speaker 2: we talk about this week, I need to tell you
- 30:48Speaker 2: that sal is our tipper of the week. So she
- 30:53Speaker 2: has done the best round, perfect round, with the perfect round,
- 30:57Speaker 2: first round, tip with the best margin. So good on
- 31:01Speaker 2: your sale. We've got a few more weeks at that
- 31:02Speaker 2: where you are tipper of the week. It doesn't matter
- 31:04Speaker 2: where you are on the ladder. You get the fifty
- 31:06Speaker 2: dollars in the ballad. Drippler's tipping home.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Yay.
- 31:12Speaker 2: But I want to talk about Look, the only thing
- 31:15Speaker 2: really worth talking about is Lightning, Thunderbirds, Vixens, isn't.
- 31:22Speaker 1: It, Because well, for the finals, one.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Of them is going to be out, don't they. You
- 31:29Speaker 2: want to talk about the giants because that was bloody awesome,
- 31:31Speaker 2: But I think actually the most interesting thing to talk
- 31:34Speaker 2: about is book one of them is going to miss out.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Yeah, And what will be interesting is the run home. Now,
- 31:39Speaker 1: so this is the Vixen's run home is the Thunderbirds. Yeah,
- 31:43Speaker 1: that'll be a challenge the five Birds they'll win.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:46Speaker 1: The West Coast Fever going to be a challenge.
- 31:48Speaker 2: In that one too, isn't it. Yeah, So they should win.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Let's say they win two of those three.
- 31:55Speaker 1: They will definitely win two of the three.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you think they'll beat the Thunderbirds.
- 32:00Speaker 1: H No, I think they're what yeah, okay, I don't
- 32:04Speaker 1: know about that. They're definitely going to win one of
- 32:06Speaker 1: the three.
- 32:07Speaker 2: How they were the Thunderbirds. I couldn't believe that. That was
- 32:09Speaker 2: so exciting. So that's the run home. The Lightnings run
- 32:13Speaker 2: home is they've got Fever in Sunshine Coast, they've got
- 32:18Speaker 2: Swifts in Sydney, and they've got thunder Adelaide like that
- 32:22Speaker 2: is that is a nightmare for it is.
- 32:24Speaker 1: An absolute night mere run. Considering they lost the game
- 32:27Speaker 1: to the Vixens, that could prove the one that leaves
- 32:30Speaker 1: them out of the finals. Hunt now and then the
- 32:34Speaker 1: Thunderbirds has probably got the easiest run out of the
- 32:36Speaker 1: out of the size. But they've got obviously got to
- 32:39Speaker 1: play the Vixens and the Lightning and there were and
- 32:41Speaker 1: I think they've got the MAVs.
- 32:43Speaker 2: So mas Vixen's Vixen's away. Yeah. Just so to me,
- 32:47Speaker 2: it's looking like Lightning are going to come fifth or sixth,
- 32:50Speaker 2: depending on what the Giants do, because the Giants have
- 32:51Speaker 2: got a pretty good run home too. They've got the
- 32:54Speaker 2: they've got Firebirds. They've got Fever away, but last year
- 32:57Speaker 2: they only lost to the Fever in this same game
- 33:01Speaker 2: away by a point, and people were doing particularly well
- 33:05Speaker 2: then too, so who knows. Giants seem to be on
- 33:07Speaker 2: a particularly good run and.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Then they have to win the next three though, and
- 33:11Speaker 1: they need to rely on the Thunderbirds dropping all three. Yeah, okay, yeah,
- 33:15Speaker 1: it's a tough ask. It's not doesn't mean to say
- 33:18Speaker 1: it can't happen, but I think they need.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Thinking that they're looking They're looking like a fifth or
- 33:23Speaker 2: a fifth or a sixth the Giants. I'm not here.
- 33:25Speaker 2: I'm just I'm sort of saying that they could they
- 33:28Speaker 2: could jump over someone and get into fifth position, which is.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Crazy given they were on the bottom of the ladder
- 33:33Speaker 1: two seconds ago. Nuts, isn't it.
- 33:35Speaker 2: It is crazy. This is why we love this sport,
- 33:37Speaker 2: and this is why should go all around the world.
- 33:40Speaker 1: It should, it should go to sixty five countries. I
- 33:42Speaker 1: reckon should look at this.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Several billion people should be able to see it every
- 33:46Speaker 2: week and you should be able to listen to one
- 33:48Speaker 2: podcast where you get the chair of the All Australia
- 33:50Speaker 2: on here. But no, it will have not this two weeks.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Probably no, not this two weeks, but yeah, so, I
- 33:57Speaker 2: guess we just need to remind everyone to put their
- 33:59Speaker 2: tips for the valid of the tipping camp. We don't
- 34:02Speaker 2: have a Friday night game this week, so we can
- 34:04Speaker 2: get back to normal programming. I won't know what day
- 34:07Speaker 2: it is or what time it is for another couple
- 34:09Speaker 2: of days, but I will be getting my tips in and.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Buy your tickets to our live event.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Oh yeah, so that's if I haven't done that. So
- 34:16Speaker 2: we've now been moved to the larger venue because we've
- 34:20Speaker 2: got such a good crowd coming. So so that means
- 34:22Speaker 2: we've been able to release some more tickets because of that,
- 34:25Speaker 2: because we moved to the larger venue. But please come
- 34:29Speaker 2: and join us if you can. Shaping up to be
- 34:31Speaker 2: a super due part fun night. And wait, and next
- 34:35Speaker 2: week we've got some exciting news, haven't we. We'll be
- 34:39Speaker 2: looking a little bit different, we'll be acting a little
- 34:41Speaker 2: bit different and yeah, so well, but all will be
- 34:44Speaker 2: revealed next week. We'll be if you're talking about that.
- 34:46Speaker 1: But now listen, you travel safe. Then when you get
- 34:50Speaker 1: to your declaration, are you bringing any food in? Don't
- 34:53Speaker 1: let them take my lollies?
- 34:54Speaker 2: Well, It's not really food, is it. Let's be honest,
- 34:57Speaker 2: there's very few natural food products in in the things
- 35:02Speaker 2: that the collection. I sent you a photo of what
- 35:04Speaker 2: I like my two and for halfer and you know this,
- 35:09Speaker 2: this is not This is not good stuff. So but
- 35:12Speaker 2: I will be carrying it carefully. I will be carrying
- 35:15Speaker 2: it on my person to make sure that it gets
- 35:18Speaker 2: there safely, because.
- 35:19Speaker 1: You just don't challenge trap it to your person.
- 35:22Speaker 2: That might look a little dodgy, dear. Yes, well, I'm
- 35:28Speaker 2: pleased to say getting in and out of the US
- 35:30Speaker 2: was no problem. I was a teensy bit nervous about that,
- 35:32Speaker 2: and it looks you know, I'm back in Canada now
- 35:35Speaker 2: and they have no there's no no reason for me
- 35:37Speaker 2: to feel anything other than a delightful anticipation of the
- 35:41Speaker 2: good service of the next fourteen hours.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Nice, you're gonna have a few wines. Are you going
- 35:45Speaker 1: to focus on writing and getting your book done?
- 35:47Speaker 2: I do, I do need So. I did set myself
- 35:50Speaker 2: a goal of writing ten thousand words of the new
- 35:53Speaker 2: draft of my new novel while I was away. I'm
- 35:55Speaker 2: not going to hit that, so, but I want to
- 35:58Speaker 2: get to I want to get to even and a
- 36:00Speaker 2: half before I have a wine tonight and I'm quite
- 36:03Speaker 2: close to that, so and I mean, it's I'm really
- 36:06Speaker 2: enjoying writing this novel. It's it's a fun story that
- 36:08Speaker 2: I'm playing with, so I'm quite excited to get into it.
- 36:10Speaker 2: So I'll be happy to do that for a couple
- 36:12Speaker 2: of hours there.
- 36:13Speaker 1: So yeah, well fly safe, don't thank you, thank you.
- 36:17Speaker 1: I see you next week.
