- 0:08Speaker 1: What's up you guys.
- 0:09Speaker 2: It's La La Kent with Randall. We are back.
- 0:14Speaker 1: So we went on our little break, which, okay, first
- 0:19Speaker 1: of all, before we go there, we're in a temporary
- 0:24Speaker 1: like I don't even know why, because if people are
- 0:27Speaker 1: listening and there's an echo, it's because we're in, like, okay,
- 0:31Speaker 1: an industrial location.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Your new podcast studio is twelve feet from us exactly.
- 0:36Speaker 1: So it's being built out. So if it sounds echoey,
- 0:39Speaker 1: that's exactly why. Anyway, what we.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Have been off the air for three months now.
- 0:46Speaker 1: We told everyone in January Tim producer Tim, we still
- 0:49Speaker 1: have him hi, that we would be back to February.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I know. It's okay.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Here's the thing. A couple of things happen. A couple
- 0:56Speaker 3: of things happen. Let's just put it out there. One
- 0:59Speaker 3: we left our old network and we were very grateful
- 1:02Speaker 3: and thankful for them. They were great, and we have
- 1:05Speaker 3: now signed with a new company and we're very excited.
- 1:08Speaker 3: And also, let's be honest, you were in your final
- 1:11Speaker 3: trimester about to give birth to our child, and you
- 1:16Speaker 3: did give birth to our child, so you were.
- 1:18Speaker 2: A little busy.
- 1:19Speaker 3: So now that our baby is here, you were very
- 1:22Speaker 3: excited to you know, I mean, you were ready to
- 1:26Speaker 3: relaunch the podcast, and now it's our.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Baby is sitting a foot away from us. Why we're podcasting.
- 1:32Speaker 1: It's so amazing. No, we were planning on coming back
- 1:36Speaker 1: February fourteenth, Valentine's Day. I was super hyped about it.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I thought it would be cute to do it like that.
- 1:41Speaker 1: But then, like most people have a due date and
- 1:45Speaker 1: you kind of plan around that. Granted, you can't plan
- 1:48Speaker 1: quote unquote pregnancy or when you're going to give birth,
- 1:51Speaker 1: but for Randall and myself, it was like, we don't
- 1:54Speaker 1: know when she's gonna come. So I just decided, let's
- 1:58Speaker 1: put the podcast on hold, chill out. I'll enjoy however
- 2:02Speaker 1: long I have left of being pregnant. And then on
- 2:04Speaker 1: March fifteenth, I gave birth to my soulmates. Yes, and
- 2:09Speaker 1: I'm kent emit.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I am very proud of you. You have become the
- 2:14Speaker 3: most well you're already a most amazing woman, but now
- 2:16Speaker 3: you're an amazing mother and you already were an amazing
- 2:20Speaker 3: step mother. So now you're superstar mom and superstar badass fiance.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Wow.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Yes, you've got all the titles.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Two of the things I never aspired to be in
- 2:32Speaker 1: my wait, the mom part, I did aspire the.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Second one you could talk about being a mom so the.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Day I met Yeah, the first one, I definitely always
- 2:39Speaker 1: aspired to be the badass Fyance never was even in
- 2:44Speaker 1: the vicinity of I just wanted to like be a
- 2:47Speaker 1: boss bitch.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Well, let's style it back for a minute for everybody,
- 2:50Speaker 3: because you know, I think I've learned being with you.
- 2:53Speaker 3: You know, these articles and stuff that come out, I've
- 2:56Speaker 3: learned that. You know, they do show a side, a
- 3:00Speaker 3: slice of these moments that you've had.
- 3:03Speaker 2: But let's style it back because that day.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Let's just I think it'd be nice to kick off
- 3:09Speaker 3: this podcast, our first episode, our first week with kind
- 3:13Speaker 3: of just take us through what you were going through
- 3:18Speaker 3: from the night before when you knew we were going
- 3:20Speaker 3: to the hospital the next morning, and then getting up
- 3:22Speaker 3: at seven in the morning and heading to the hospital
- 3:24Speaker 3: and all the way to twenty four hours later when
- 3:26Speaker 3: she came, Oh.
- 3:28Speaker 2: God, oh here come the tears, like you for doing that?
- 3:32Speaker 2: Why this is beautiful stuff everybody wants to hear.
- 3:36Speaker 3: And I think you're so people don't realize Lala is
- 3:41Speaker 3: the well people probably do not, and before you say this,
- 3:43Speaker 3: I just want to say, who don't realize you are
- 3:46Speaker 3: such an emotionally beautiful person and so vulnerable and so
- 3:52Speaker 3: everything you know, And I don't think everybody knows that.
- 3:56Speaker 3: I think a lot of people do, but a lot
- 3:58Speaker 3: of people don't. And I think that since you've become
- 4:01Speaker 3: a mother to your own baby, you have just been
- 4:07Speaker 3: such an epic human of just of every proportion. And
- 4:12Speaker 3: I am so proud to call you the mother of
- 4:15Speaker 3: our daughters. So I just want to be able to
- 4:17Speaker 3: hear your journey because it was it was your first
- 4:20Speaker 3: time giving birth.
- 4:21Speaker 2: And it was a big fucking deal.
- 4:24Speaker 3: So just tell me, just share just whatever you want
- 4:27Speaker 3: to share it, because I thought it was the most
- 4:29Speaker 3: beautiful moment, you know, ever of our relationship. And we've
- 4:33Speaker 3: had a lot of beautiful moments, but this one definitely
- 4:35Speaker 3: is the one I will remember trumps.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Them all for me at least. Well, I feel like
- 4:42Speaker 1: that's kind of where I got excited that they scheduled
- 4:46Speaker 1: me to be induced, because I got to enjoy the
- 4:51Speaker 1: last moments of certain things like most people, like when
- 4:54Speaker 1: my water breaks. Whereas I knew that I was going
- 4:58Speaker 1: in at seven o'clock in the morning on March fourteenth,
- 5:02Speaker 1: which was a Sunday, and that the night before it
- 5:06Speaker 1: was like, oh my gosh, she's kicking, like come tomorrow
- 5:10Speaker 1: or you know, you never really know when it's gonna
- 5:13Speaker 1: pop out. But I got to think about those little
- 5:16Speaker 1: last moments of her and my tummy, or the last
- 5:20Speaker 1: horrific night's sleep, which till are not great. So mean
- 5:25Speaker 1: there even worse. So we we wake up, we go
- 5:33Speaker 1: to the hospital. Randall got to see something happen to
- 5:37Speaker 1: me that he's never seen before. That kind of happens
- 5:40Speaker 1: to me often the most basic thing tim when you
- 5:43Speaker 1: go in to be induced or just to have a baby,
- 5:46Speaker 1: they put the ivy in your arm, right, oh.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Right, that's where you're going.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Yeah, so they do this right as I check in whatever.
- 5:53Speaker 1: We're in the bed, and I told the nurse, I
- 5:57Speaker 1: pass out. When you tell me that my vein is
- 6:01Speaker 1: rollie that you can't quite find it, you are fucking me,
- 6:06Speaker 1: like mentally beyond okay.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Let me let me I really, because I know your
- 6:11Speaker 3: audience loves when I shut up. But I'm gonna I
- 6:13Speaker 3: am gonna step in right here. I'm gonna I want
- 6:15Speaker 3: to say this story because Lala really doesn't have any
- 6:19Speaker 3: place to tell this part. I wanted her to share
- 6:22Speaker 3: every beautiful moment of being the mother and giving birth
- 6:26Speaker 3: to our daughter.
- 6:27Speaker 1: This is what I'm gonna tell, okay, but let me
- 6:29Speaker 1: let me just say one thing, you Kim. I said
- 6:32Speaker 1: to the nurse right before it happened, because I always
- 6:34Speaker 1: know when it's gonna happen. I tell them my arms
- 6:37Speaker 1: and legs are going numb. I'm going to pass out.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I warned them. I already know that that's going to happen.
- 6:42Speaker 2: That's not what happened.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I did. I warned that woman. I warned the nurse.
- 6:47Speaker 1: He says, I didn't. Okay, tell your version.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell the version because I was there and
- 6:51Speaker 2: it was fucked up. So let me tell you. So.
- 6:53Speaker 3: I don't do really well with needles either. So you
- 6:56Speaker 3: got Lala and I are both like woosies when it comes.
- 7:00Speaker 3: But you know you're there with your best friend and
- 7:02Speaker 3: your partner, so you know if they got to cut
- 7:04Speaker 3: her open, I would obviously I get through it.
- 7:07Speaker 2: So here's what I want to say.
- 7:09Speaker 3: So she's laying there, we had just got there. We
- 7:11Speaker 3: are like so emotional, we are like on cloud nine.
- 7:14Speaker 3: We're walking in. We're like, here we are, we got
- 7:17Speaker 3: our bags packed. We walk into Cedars and I'm like,
- 7:20Speaker 3: you know, it's like that moment you're just like so excited.
- 7:23Speaker 3: And I'm so excited for her because she has been
- 7:27Speaker 3: carrying our daughter for nine months and I'm very very
- 7:29Speaker 3: proud of her. But and and and and so blessed
- 7:32Speaker 3: to have such a great partner. So now that kiss dress, I'm.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Not get into the details. So we walk into the room,
- 7:37Speaker 2: she lays down, she gets her gown on. She's there.
- 7:39Speaker 3: The nurse comes in and Lalla tells her I pass
- 7:42Speaker 3: out very easily. And I'm thinking, okay, passing out.
- 7:45Speaker 2: If she passes out, she's in the bed. She ain't
- 7:47Speaker 2: going anywhere.
- 7:51Speaker 3: But there's a difference between and exorcism and passing around.
- 7:57Speaker 2: No, it's it's fucked up. I'm gonna tell you how.
- 8:00Speaker 2: You don't even know what happens. Happened.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Okay, So she's laying there, they get the needle out,
- 8:04Speaker 3: they take her thing, and she's telling them and I'm
- 8:07Speaker 3: talking to her. I'm holding her hand and I'm holding
- 8:10Speaker 3: and I'm looking right in her eyes and I say, baby,
- 8:12Speaker 3: it's gonna be okay, just hanging there, and the nurse goes, okay,
- 8:15Speaker 3: you ready, and she counts down, and I'm looking right
- 8:18Speaker 3: at my partners, right in her eyes. I'm looking right
- 8:21Speaker 3: in her eyes and we're talking and as the needle
- 8:23Speaker 3: I'm looking at.
- 8:23Speaker 2: The needle going in.
- 8:24Speaker 3: I'm kind of keeping her eyes shielded so I shouldn't
- 8:26Speaker 3: see anything. As they're doing whatever they're doing to get
- 8:30Speaker 3: it into her vein, I see her eyes start to
- 8:36Speaker 3: roll back into her head.
- 8:38Speaker 2: This is not passing out, passing out as you go
- 8:41Speaker 2: to sleep, right, the eyes are in her head. Now
- 8:44Speaker 2: I'm making a joke of this.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Now I am telling you that I was gonna have
- 8:48Speaker 3: a heart attack and hit the fucking floor. And I
- 8:50Speaker 3: literally said la la, la la. And I said to
- 8:55Speaker 3: the nurse, ma'am, there's something wrong because like you see
- 8:58Speaker 3: her best friend and your partner, you know, eyes going ahead.
- 9:01Speaker 3: This it's horrifying, Like I've never seen anything like this.
- 9:05Speaker 3: I've been with her for five years. And I say lala,
- 9:08Speaker 3: and she is. Elvis has left the building. And now
- 9:11Speaker 3: I tell them, I tell them, please stop whatever you're
- 9:14Speaker 3: doing right now, because Lawa is not And then they
- 9:17Speaker 3: see that Lala's eyes are in her head and she's gone,
- 9:21Speaker 3: and I say, they say, La La, Now I know
- 9:24Speaker 3: they're nervous, they're they're freaked out, like I'm freaked out,
- 9:27Speaker 3: And all of a sudden, her eyes come back to
- 9:29Speaker 3: her where they're supposed to be. I'm only laughing now,
- 9:33Speaker 3: I wasn't laughing then and she's and Lala says, what
- 9:38Speaker 3: what's going on?
- 9:39Speaker 1: No, because they're all dead stare at me, and I'm like,
- 9:42Speaker 1: why every you know, like I don't know.
- 9:45Speaker 2: You said hi?
- 9:45Speaker 3: He said okay, and then they kept doing it and
- 9:48Speaker 3: then they went back into her head again, and then
- 9:50Speaker 3: I said, call the doctor right now. I'm not cool
- 9:53Speaker 3: at this. There's something fucking wrong. And she was gone
- 9:55Speaker 3: like they were trying to wake her up on her
- 9:57Speaker 3: like the eyes were thed. No, and it was I'm
- 10:02Speaker 3: laughing because.
- 10:03Speaker 1: It's over, because it's over.
- 10:05Speaker 2: I'm laughing, it is over.
- 10:06Speaker 3: But I also want to say that tears were in
- 10:08Speaker 3: my eyes they saw and I please call the doctor
- 10:10Speaker 3: right now.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I'm not joking.
- 10:11Speaker 3: And then they they did call the doctor and both
- 10:13Speaker 3: of them us they had gotten it in and.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Her eyes came back to her. They're supposed to be
- 10:19Speaker 2: for the second time. And then I said, lawa, do
- 10:21Speaker 2: you know where you're at? Do you? And they said
- 10:23Speaker 2: do you know where you're at? And she said, yeah,
- 10:24Speaker 2: I'm in the.
- 10:25Speaker 1: They go, la, la, do you know where you are
- 10:28Speaker 1: and what you're doing? And I go, yes, I'm at Cedars.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I'm having a baby today.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Just like it was nothing.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I knew where the fun was.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Like a sitcom or something.
- 10:38Speaker 3: It wasn't, yeah, sitcom, I don't know if it was that,
- 10:40Speaker 3: but but let me tell.
- 10:41Speaker 1: You this, it was like crying in the corner.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Wasn't crying in the corner. I was crying right holding
- 10:47Speaker 3: your hand. But anyway, okay, So then they gave her
- 10:50Speaker 3: some kind of juice.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Was the juice that you.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Like when you honest, honest kids, juice box.
- 10:55Speaker 2: They give her honest kids juice box. But listen to this.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Listen listen to this.
- 10:59Speaker 3: After she after she has the juice, she comes back
- 11:02Speaker 3: to her normal state and now she's calm and.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I and now Randall's freaking because that little, that little
- 11:11Speaker 1: tiny fucking thing that goes in your arm and then
- 11:13Speaker 1: the epidural is kind of.
- 11:14Speaker 2: That's what I was gonna totally.
- 11:17Speaker 3: But the epidural was in a little while, like we
- 11:20Speaker 3: were gonna give it a few hours. So I say
- 11:22Speaker 3: to her, I say to her, I'm just gonna step
- 11:25Speaker 3: outside just for a quick second. I literally took the
- 11:28Speaker 3: elevator down to the street to get eric because I
- 11:30Speaker 3: thought I was going to pass out. I thought I
- 11:32Speaker 3: was going to pass out in front of her while
- 11:33Speaker 3: she was passing out. Then we'd both be passed out.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Would be bad. So I went downstairs, took a walk,
- 11:39Speaker 3: true story, true story.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I called her mother. I do that a lot.
- 11:44Speaker 3: And then I called my mother on a three way
- 11:46Speaker 3: and I said to them, what just happened. I said,
- 11:48Speaker 3: Law's eyes were rolled back in her head. And then
- 11:51Speaker 3: I was in tears on the phone to them, because
- 11:53Speaker 3: you know, you love somebody so much, you don't want
- 11:55Speaker 3: to see them, you know, in any kind of anything
- 11:58Speaker 3: that's out of normal.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Let's say. So it was. It was just a really
- 12:02Speaker 2: harsh moment for me. But thank god she was okay.
- 12:05Speaker 3: And then and then I went back upstairs, and then
- 12:07Speaker 3: we hung out for like a couple hours while you
- 12:10Speaker 3: just you know why, we just waited, and then as
- 12:12Speaker 3: you started getting discomfort, then we did the epidural and
- 12:15Speaker 3: by the way, you.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Told Randall was so emotionally scarred from me having an exorcism.
- 12:22Speaker 1: I call it passing out because they said it was.
- 12:25Speaker 1: I did not seize. It was definitely you fainted because
- 12:29Speaker 1: Ocean's heart rate stayed normally, like the baby was not affected.
- 12:33Speaker 2: That is true, but I thought to thank God.
- 12:36Speaker 1: But Randall was so affected. My mom was supposed to
- 12:38Speaker 1: come in on a Tuesday.
- 12:39Speaker 2: You have to got Tuesday, you have to say the
- 12:40Speaker 2: whole thing.
- 12:41Speaker 1: He made her come in on Sunday, so he's like, surprise,
- 12:43Speaker 1: your mom's here. I'm like, oh see, you are not
- 12:45Speaker 1: about this life.
- 12:47Speaker 2: You are not about it. That's bullshit, that life.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I was joking, okay, because we're honey, it's a podcast,
- 12:53Speaker 1: ha ha, let's laugh about it. Oh you're about that life.
- 12:56Speaker 3: I am about that life about Oh can I just
- 12:58Speaker 3: say one thing though, and then I want, I really
- 13:00Speaker 3: want you to tell your journey from It's going to
- 13:03Speaker 3: be a.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Long journey because you keep butting in.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I know, but it's fun.
- 13:06Speaker 3: When they did the epidural, I looked you right in
- 13:08Speaker 3: the face, I said, look at me, and I told
- 13:10Speaker 3: the nurse, do not.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Are you taking credit for the epidural going.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Okay, I'm getting upset right now.
- 13:17Speaker 1: The epidural went well because I told her before she started,
- 13:22Speaker 1: don't talk to me about the needle size. Don't count
- 13:25Speaker 1: it down. I'm going to turn around. Okay, I told
- 13:29Speaker 1: her I don't want to know a thing about baby.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Remember when I was looking right in your eyes and we.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Were kissing, Randall, if you don't stop this rookie nonsense.
- 13:37Speaker 1: This is season two of Give Them La La with
- 13:38Speaker 1: Randall to the podcast, brought to you by Westwood.
- 13:42Speaker 2: One, our new partner. Okay, I did. Now I want
- 13:47Speaker 2: to say something anyway, She noted.
- 13:49Speaker 3: The epidural, which I thought was going to be ten
- 13:51Speaker 3: times worse than.
- 13:52Speaker 1: The IB, was nothing because they didn't psych me out emotionally.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Okay, that's our story. Let's go back to the beautiful
- 14:00Speaker 3: part of giving birth to our daughter. Okay, you giving
- 14:02Speaker 3: birth to our daughter. I want you to have this
- 14:05Speaker 3: episode to be really about you. I wanted to make
- 14:07Speaker 3: light and fun, but the truth is I want to
- 14:10Speaker 3: reset the stage what you did and how you did it.
- 14:12Speaker 3: I am so blessed to have a partner, you know,
- 14:15Speaker 3: and I mean that, and I want you to tell
- 14:17Speaker 3: people your journey because it was really beautiful watching your
- 14:20Speaker 3: transformation from Lalla before you had the baby, even though
- 14:24Speaker 3: you were a sap as a pregnant woman. But since
- 14:27Speaker 3: you since ocean has been here. Oh my god, we'll
- 14:30Speaker 3: talk about that later.
- 14:37Speaker 2: And we're back.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Oh I love the enthusia. Oh my gosh. Okay, so
- 14:45Speaker 1: we get there whatever the whole long story with the
- 14:48Speaker 1: needle and the season or whatnot. So then they start
- 14:52Speaker 1: the balloon and so the survey. So I'm looking at
- 14:55Speaker 1: producer Tim. He's like, I wish I was a female
- 14:58Speaker 1: right now. I wish I were a girl. And I
- 15:00Speaker 1: couldn't even stand it. So I got the epidural super quick.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I was feeling no fucking pain, but I was so
- 15:05Speaker 1: anxious because I felt like just a torso like it's stub.
- 15:10Speaker 1: I'm like, I can't fill my legs when it's time
- 15:12Speaker 1: to push. How am I even going to know how
- 15:14Speaker 1: to get her out of my body? You know? So
- 15:17Speaker 1: that I was tripping about and Randall kept trying to
- 15:20Speaker 1: call me down, like your body's gonna know what to do? Okay,
- 15:23Speaker 1: flash too. That night they've told me you're not having
- 15:26Speaker 1: the baby today, like you'll probably have it later tomorrow
- 15:29Speaker 1: because you have not dilated at all. I think by
- 15:33Speaker 1: the time I went I think by the time I
- 15:35Speaker 1: went to sleep, I was at a four, which is
- 15:38Speaker 1: like not a lot, especially when they've induced you with
- 15:41Speaker 1: like that balloon thing.
- 15:42Speaker 3: And keep in mind, I want people to remember, you
- 15:45Speaker 3: were induced three weeks.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Early, correct, thirty seven weeks exactly.
- 15:49Speaker 2: So there's a whole.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Nother level of anxiety for us because we knew she
- 15:52Speaker 3: was going to be under six pounds, but we also
- 15:55Speaker 3: were nervous because we weren't one hundred percent sure what
- 15:57Speaker 3: was going to happen. And they and they did tell
- 15:59Speaker 3: us to that there is a chance.
- 16:02Speaker 2: They didn't say.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Either way, they just said, there's a because we're inducing early,
- 16:05Speaker 3: there is a chance that our daughter will go to
- 16:08Speaker 3: the NIC.
- 16:08Speaker 1: You for them, Yes, don't cry because it didn't happen,
- 16:13Speaker 1: but no, thank god. Okay, so they do that whole thing.
- 16:17Speaker 1: That night. I slept like a fucking champion.
- 16:22Speaker 2: That is a crazy part.
- 16:24Speaker 1: They were like, you're not going to get any sleep tonight,
- 16:26Speaker 1: so just like, try to rest your eyes at least
- 16:28Speaker 1: I knocked the fuck out. They came in to break
- 16:32Speaker 1: my water and it was at like no four in
- 16:36Speaker 1: the morning.
- 16:37Speaker 3: No. Seven, at got there right hold on.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Scranda was like because he was like, we woke him
- 16:46Speaker 1: up out of a stupor.
- 16:48Speaker 2: I was on the couch. I was on the couch. Wait,
- 16:50Speaker 2: I was on the couch sleeping.
- 16:52Speaker 3: I mean, they make him into these beds, these couches
- 16:54Speaker 3: that her mom and all of us were.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Keep in mind, today is Ocean's actual due dates. So
- 16:59Speaker 1: I'm like, soon I want to relive this.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 17:03Speaker 1: So they come in and break my water. Producer to
- 17:05Speaker 1: him and the nurse comes in. She's like, I'm gonna
- 17:08Speaker 1: change your like bedding and pads because you're in a
- 17:12Speaker 1: lot of water. I was so fucking tired. I go,
- 17:15Speaker 1: can you just leave it the way it is? I go,
- 17:16Speaker 1: I can't feel anything. So I was just laying in
- 17:20Speaker 1: just like a pond of water. Okay that I had
- 17:22Speaker 1: no fucking idea because I was so numb. Fast forward too,
- 17:26Speaker 1: like four in the morning, she comes back in. It
- 17:29Speaker 1: was every two hours, so whenever they broke my water,
- 17:32Speaker 1: they were then checking to see like when is this
- 17:34Speaker 1: baby gonna come? Six am rolls around, nurse comes in,
- 17:39Speaker 1: shoves her fingers up there. It's It's so crazy how
- 17:42Speaker 1: it becomes just so natural when you see the nurse
- 17:44Speaker 1: come in, you just like flop your legs open. My
- 17:48Speaker 1: legs were so heavy and I couldn't feel them that
- 17:50Speaker 1: the only way I knew that they were hanging off
- 17:51Speaker 1: the bed was because my body would fall the one side.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I'd be like, are he's on the ground, and you
- 18:02Speaker 1: would come over and have to put them back on
- 18:04Speaker 1: the butt. It was fucking hysterical. Anyway. She puts her
- 18:08Speaker 1: fingers up my kookie and says, oh my god, we're like,
- 18:13Speaker 1: we're there. You're you're at a ten and I don't
- 18:16Speaker 1: know what this means. You're at a ten plus three,
- 18:18Speaker 1: She says, I can feel the head. She goes, So,
- 18:22Speaker 1: what you're gonna do is you're gonna give me one
- 18:23Speaker 1: practice push. I just want to see how this is
- 18:25Speaker 1: gonna go, because you could be pushing anywhere from like
- 18:29Speaker 1: four to six hours.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I guess said that to us early one earlier.
- 18:33Speaker 1: So I do one practice push.
- 18:34Speaker 3: She goes.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Stop, She goes, I need you not to move until
- 18:37Speaker 1: the doctor gets.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Here, because so the baby was literally could have come
- 18:42Speaker 3: out right then. And then, by the way, during this day,
- 18:45Speaker 3: are they woke me up, and I am I was
- 18:48Speaker 3: in a sleeping stupor they wake me up, and I.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Think, oh my god, okay, it's whatever, six three whatever time.
- 18:55Speaker 2: I got up.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I walk over and they've already got the legs are
- 19:01Speaker 3: already up and they're like, grab a leg and I'm
- 19:03Speaker 3: like what. So I grabbed leg and and and now
- 19:06Speaker 3: we're waiting for the doctor to show up. And I
- 19:08Speaker 3: say to the nurse, how long do you think She goes, no,
- 19:11Speaker 3: you don't understand. When the doctor walks in the room,
- 19:13Speaker 3: you're gonna have your daughter.
- 19:14Speaker 2: And I'm like what.
- 19:17Speaker 1: The nurse is like, I can see the head right now?
- 19:20Speaker 2: Oh, they asked me. They said, do you want to
- 19:21Speaker 2: see your daughter's head right now? I said absolutely not.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Which I didn't mind. It was like, stay honey, side
- 19:29Speaker 1: of the baby.
- 19:31Speaker 3: I would have I would have hit the ground if
- 19:34Speaker 3: I saw anything.
- 19:35Speaker 1: So the doctor fucking walks in and I say, are
- 19:37Speaker 1: you gonna tent my legs? He goes no time, that's
- 19:39Speaker 1: what he said.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Because I said, babe, don't worry. Lala kept saying look
- 19:44Speaker 3: at me, don't worry, and I was like, Babe, we're
- 19:47Speaker 3: doing this together. And then literally I said, what do
- 19:50Speaker 3: you think they're gonna do you think they're gonna put
- 19:51Speaker 3: something up? And the doctor said when Lala asked him,
- 19:54Speaker 3: I remember, he said, no time, gotta go.
- 19:57Speaker 2: And literally literally he asked you to push. I had
- 20:01Speaker 2: your leg, I held your hand. You pushed two times.
- 20:04Speaker 1: No, no, no. I pushed for two contractions, which was a
- 20:07Speaker 1: total if you include my practice push seven times. On
- 20:12Speaker 1: the final push, tim, I start right and I see
- 20:17Speaker 1: over and I see her head coming out. It was
- 20:21Speaker 1: he originally says to me, the heads out. Do you
- 20:23Speaker 1: want to feel and due to like the arm and
- 20:26Speaker 1: the needle, I was like, I can't risk passing out
- 20:28Speaker 1: at this point, you know, like I trust you that
- 20:31Speaker 1: it's there, and I'm like, we're good. I don't want
- 20:35Speaker 1: to feel it. And it was, oh my god. Okay.
- 20:39Speaker 1: So Brittany and Jack's are about to have their baby
- 20:42Speaker 1: and I she came over to see ocean and I
- 20:46Speaker 1: literally when I see a pregnant person, now I'm like,
- 20:49Speaker 1: this insane person. I'm like, I'm so excited for you.
- 20:54Speaker 1: You have no idea what this experience is going to
- 20:58Speaker 1: be like when you give birth. There looking at me
- 21:00Speaker 1: like yeah, I'm really excited I'm like, no, you don't
- 21:04Speaker 1: get it. Like I all I did was saw because
- 21:07Speaker 1: I felt like my heart was going to explode if
- 21:10Speaker 1: it didn't come out of somewhere else.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Oh when you yeah, and then talk about the moment
- 21:14Speaker 3: they handed you your daughter.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Oh my god. You you just sit there and you're like,
- 21:18Speaker 1: I can't believe. Yes, the men help tremendously creating.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Thank you, like you okay, sure, but you're you're the hero.
- 21:27Speaker 2: But you're the hero.
- 21:28Speaker 1: We sat there and have this this thing in us
- 21:32Speaker 1: for nine months, and it is relying on every decision
- 21:35Speaker 1: that we make to put into our you know, like
- 21:37Speaker 1: everything can't get botox anymore. You know, I can't drink
- 21:42Speaker 1: if I no, but it's like if I need two
- 21:44Speaker 1: cups of coffee to wake up, Like I can't do that.
- 21:47Speaker 3: But but but I want you to tell people the
- 21:51Speaker 3: moment because I because it was magical for me to
- 21:54Speaker 3: see you when they handed you your daughter.
- 21:57Speaker 2: That moment.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I wondered, like how I existed before that moment?
- 22:08Speaker 2: You know? I remember, like.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Even still right now, I'm like, okay, it's three weeks,
- 22:15Speaker 1: she's still brand new, But I'm like, no, how can
- 22:17Speaker 1: it already be three weeks.
- 22:20Speaker 3: You.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Get upset everything. Yeah, right now, you love.
- 22:25Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you you love my hormones.
- 22:27Speaker 3: But no, no, your hormones are one thing.
- 22:31Speaker 2: But Lala, I've known you for five years. I have
- 22:34Speaker 2: never seen you like this.
- 22:36Speaker 3: I mean, this is your love for your daughter is
- 22:39Speaker 3: is second to none.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I just have never felt anything like when when I
- 22:43Speaker 1: would ask people like, what does it feel like? And
- 22:46Speaker 1: they're like, you can't describe it sounds so corny, like
- 22:50Speaker 1: you cannot describe it.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Agree with you?
- 22:53Speaker 3: Yeah, the love for the love you have for a
- 22:56Speaker 3: child is really hard to describe.
- 22:59Speaker 2: It's just that love is so powerful. And I think
- 23:01Speaker 2: you're a parent, you know.
- 23:02Speaker 3: I mean it's really a weird thing because you know,
- 23:06Speaker 3: as children, you know, we have parents, you know, and
- 23:09Speaker 3: we're raised to love our parents and that connection we
- 23:12Speaker 3: have to our parents, even when you go through shit
- 23:14Speaker 3: with your parents and we all do you know, you
- 23:16Speaker 3: have an argument or you don't get along, or you
- 23:19Speaker 3: don't want.
- 23:19Speaker 2: To go to Christmas.
- 23:21Speaker 3: I don't know Christmas luncheon, because it's just you know,
- 23:24Speaker 3: whatever bs that you know, you get into, you always
- 23:28Speaker 3: that connection you have with your parents you can never
- 23:31Speaker 3: have with anybody else, It's just a different thing. Yeah,
- 23:34Speaker 3: I love for a parent, and I really believe that
- 23:37Speaker 3: as a parent, and I think you probably agree completely.
- 23:41Speaker 3: But watching Lalla have that connection.
- 23:44Speaker 2: When the hand of your baby.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Was was no. My identity became just simply I'm Ocean's mom. Nothing.
- 23:54Speaker 1: I don't nothing else. I don't consist of anything else.
- 23:58Speaker 1: That is my identity.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:00Speaker 3: And by the way, you do you remember what the
- 24:03Speaker 3: first the first thing you said when they handed your daughter.
- 24:07Speaker 3: I don't know if you remember, because you were you don't,
- 24:09Speaker 3: probably medicating up a little bitter. But do you remember
- 24:12Speaker 3: when they hand her too, and the first thing you
- 24:13Speaker 3: said to me? I don't think you remember, but maybe
- 24:15Speaker 3: you do. You said it over and over the whole day.
- 24:18Speaker 1: What did I say?
- 24:18Speaker 2: You said, I've never been this happy before, and I'm
- 24:20Speaker 2: so full of love.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I was so I am so full of like, I've
- 24:24Speaker 1: never been more in love with anything in my whole life.
- 24:27Speaker 1: I love you, I love thank you.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Give them with Ocean coming down for real.
- 24:34Speaker 3: No, but I but it was so beautiful because you
- 24:37Speaker 3: were you had just given birth minutes before, and you
- 24:41Speaker 3: were holding your baby and they you literally kept saying
- 24:44Speaker 3: over and over and I was really blown away.
- 24:46Speaker 2: You kept saying, I'm so my heart is solful. My
- 24:49Speaker 2: heart is so ful.
- 24:50Speaker 1: That's how it felt.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Yeah, like it was very special.
- 24:53Speaker 1: The only way to release, like you feel like you're
- 24:58Speaker 1: going to explode, the only way I can describe it.
- 25:02Speaker 1: And that night they would, you know, come in and feed,
- 25:08Speaker 1: help me feed, or you know, give her the bubba
- 25:11Speaker 1: because she wasn't pooping, and so she had to be
- 25:13Speaker 1: on formula for a sec because they were trying to
- 25:15Speaker 1: kickstart that system. Anyway. I could talk about every little
- 25:21Speaker 1: but they put her back in her like little like
- 25:24Speaker 1: a bass and I think, oh, hi, she woke up
- 25:29Speaker 1: for a second. God, she's so cute.
- 25:31Speaker 2: This is a cute baby. By My mom called me
- 25:35Speaker 2: over the weekend and for like five minutes she was like,
- 25:37Speaker 2: Ocean is so cute. And I was like, thanks, Ma,
- 25:41Speaker 2: I know, I agree, she is very cute. What do
- 25:42Speaker 2: you have to say about my kids?
- 25:45Speaker 1: Like, I'm way more interested in Margo and Darcy.
- 25:49Speaker 2: She was all about Ocean.
- 25:51Speaker 1: That is. I mean, obviously we're biased, but I think
- 25:55Speaker 1: she's a pretty beautiful baby.
- 25:56Speaker 2: She is.
- 25:59Speaker 1: No but let me just say, oh quick, that night
- 26:01Speaker 1: in the little bacinet that they put them in the
- 26:04Speaker 1: cute hospital ones that are see through. Her eyes were open.
- 26:07Speaker 1: I stayed awake all night long and I just stared
- 26:10Speaker 1: at her. I like got her out of her little bascinet.
- 26:13Speaker 1: I'm like, how can I sleep? Be like, what if
- 26:16Speaker 1: you do something and I miss it?
- 26:17Speaker 3: You didn't want to miss any by the way, I
- 26:21Speaker 3: that theme of not missing anything, because.
- 26:28Speaker 2: You know, you could say it's a cliche, but for you,
- 26:31Speaker 2: it's literal.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Like every second for the last three weeks, you don't
- 26:35Speaker 3: want to do shit except stare at your daughter and listen.
- 26:40Speaker 3: I have been there by your side at every second.
- 26:43Speaker 3: But like, if I'm like, babe, let's go downstairs get
- 26:45Speaker 3: a pop school, You're like, no, you can go downstairs
- 26:47Speaker 3: and get a popsicle.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Because I have to be here next to Ocean.
- 26:50Speaker 3: I'm like, but baby Ocean is swaddled and asleep, you know,
- 26:54Speaker 3: and we have the camera and we'll just come right
- 26:56Speaker 3: back upstairs. We'll take a whole fourteen second step. No,
- 26:58Speaker 3: got to be right here, like you really taken.
- 27:01Speaker 2: But it is a.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Beautiful thing and I really love watching it because to
- 27:05Speaker 3: have you as the mother you are within three weeks
- 27:10Speaker 3: of having a baby is.
- 27:12Speaker 2: It's just unbelievable. The connection you have to Ocean is beautiful.
- 27:16Speaker 1: She's my best friend.
- 27:17Speaker 2: And I'm going to tell you something.
- 27:19Speaker 3: I knew you were going to be a phenomenal mother,
- 27:21Speaker 3: because you're an incredible stepmother to my children, But when
- 27:25Speaker 3: you have your own baby, your own biological baby, watching
- 27:29Speaker 3: you from newborn from the minute.
- 27:32Speaker 2: She came out, I can't.
- 27:35Speaker 3: You must have said that night when she came out,
- 27:38Speaker 3: twenty five times, how full your heart is, and how
- 27:42Speaker 3: in love you are.
- 27:43Speaker 2: And how and how.
- 27:45Speaker 3: You love her so much. You said it over and
- 27:48Speaker 3: over and over, and I just knew that this connection
- 27:52Speaker 3: that you have is the deepest connection I've ever seen
- 27:57Speaker 3: you experience.
- 27:58Speaker 2: It's all of it.
- 27:59Speaker 3: It's so obsessed and it's by the way, and you
- 28:02Speaker 3: say it even to even today when we're in the
- 28:05Speaker 3: you brought her in and we're in the office. You know,
- 28:09Speaker 3: you're just like when her arms, I said, babe, she
- 28:12Speaker 3: looks like she is she full now because she just
- 28:14Speaker 3: had breast fetter. And you said, and you said, and
- 28:17Speaker 3: you said, let me see. And you took a second.
- 28:20Speaker 3: You took her off the nipple, the boo, the boot
- 28:23Speaker 3: and you were holding her and her arms were outstretched,
- 28:26Speaker 3: her hands were open, and I said, she looks calm,
- 28:30Speaker 3: and she looks you know, chill now, and you go, yeah.
- 28:32Speaker 3: See when her hands are open and relaxed, that means
- 28:35Speaker 3: she's happy. And when they're clenched, I'm like, I mean
- 28:38Speaker 3: you you.
- 28:40Speaker 1: It was also very telling when she's not screaming, bloody murder,
- 28:47Speaker 1: that's what I She's hungry. She's literally screaming. That's why
- 28:52Speaker 1: bloody murdered.
- 28:54Speaker 3: That's why I thought she was That's why I thought
- 28:56Speaker 3: she was full. But I didn't know there were hands
- 28:58Speaker 3: symbols too, so signals.
- 29:00Speaker 2: So that's pretty epic.
- 29:01Speaker 1: No, she definitely ocean for being three weeks early, has
- 29:05Speaker 1: mad pipes, and she is strong as a motherfucker. This
- 29:10Speaker 1: kid is lifting her head up off my chest and
- 29:14Speaker 1: looking at me.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Wow.
- 29:16Speaker 1: No, she's strong af Now I know exactly what was
- 29:19Speaker 1: like jamming into my ribcage and things like that. I
- 29:22Speaker 1: was always like, what the fuck that?
- 29:24Speaker 3: When I would feel her stomach and it was cute
- 29:26Speaker 3: like in the beginning, she just pushed and I was,
- 29:28Speaker 3: oh my god, and you get emotional.
- 29:30Speaker 2: And you touch here.
- 29:31Speaker 3: And then I came back from shooting the film, and
- 29:35Speaker 3: it came home and it was a new thing. It
- 29:37Speaker 3: was like a elbow, an elbow that moved across the
- 29:41Speaker 3: entire stomach. It was like pushing through the skin. I
- 29:44Speaker 3: was like, what is going on? She is going to
- 29:47Speaker 3: come through your stomach.
- 29:49Speaker 1: No, it felt that way.
- 29:50Speaker 2: I thought she was going to pop out me.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Too, I for sure did. I just can't believe she's here. Man.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Well, I am very proud to be your partner and
- 30:00Speaker 3: father of Ocean because you are an incredible mother, and
- 30:04Speaker 3: you know how you how you handled your pregnancy and
- 30:08Speaker 3: delivery and raising our baby was five star.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Look at me differently.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Somebody asked me that the other day. I don't know
- 30:16Speaker 2: if it was you, because I think you have asked
- 30:17Speaker 2: me that. No, the truth is this, I look at you.
- 30:22Speaker 3: I cherish you so much that I don't look at
- 30:25Speaker 3: you differently. I think that our connection is deeper, and
- 30:34Speaker 3: I didn't think we could have a deeper connection than
- 30:36Speaker 3: we already have.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Do you know what I'm saying? Yeah, I don't.
- 30:38Speaker 3: I didn't think I could love you any more than
- 30:40Speaker 3: I already do because you're my soulem. But watching you
- 30:44Speaker 3: love Ocean is beautiful.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Five star.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Yes, and so I think there my love for you
- 30:52Speaker 3: is stronger in a way that maybe it's on a
- 30:55Speaker 3: different level that I didn't think was possible, because I
- 30:58Speaker 3: just felt like, we're so in love with one another
- 31:00Speaker 3: and we're best friends. But watching you with our daughter,
- 31:04Speaker 3: you know, watching you with Ocean is is just a
- 31:07Speaker 3: really beautiful thing. And you know, look, I already knew
- 31:12Speaker 3: you were going to be a five star fucking mom.
- 31:14Speaker 3: I'm just saying this. I already knew. I know you're
- 31:17Speaker 3: such a lover and such a vulnerable person and such
- 31:22Speaker 3: a giver, you know, and you were patient af with
- 31:25Speaker 3: with London and Riley. But when she's screaming at the
- 31:29Speaker 3: top of her lugs, Ocean and I've run in and
- 31:32Speaker 3: I'm like, what's going on?
- 31:33Speaker 2: Do we need to go to the doctor? And you're
- 31:35Speaker 2: like stop, just hungry, and you're just chill, you're relaxed.
- 31:39Speaker 3: You just get the you just get the boob out,
- 31:41Speaker 3: you get put in her mouth, And I'm like, who
- 31:43Speaker 3: are you?
- 31:44Speaker 2: Like you used to lose your ship.
- 31:45Speaker 3: If the gardener outside was mowing the lawn too loud
- 31:48Speaker 3: and the person I.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Would still lose my shit. Just Ocean can do no wrong.
- 31:53Speaker 2: That's what I mean.
- 31:53Speaker 3: But what I'm saying is you're this epic mom and
- 31:57Speaker 3: when I watch you with her, nothing rattles you, and
- 32:00Speaker 3: I get rattle because I'm so nerts Like I've told
- 32:02Speaker 3: you baby, she okay, baby, Like I'm such an anxious dad,
- 32:07Speaker 3: like you.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Know, newborn, and I'm like, what you know? And I'm
- 32:11Speaker 2: trying to, you know, be there with you.
- 32:12Speaker 3: But you actually have been calming me down because you
- 32:15Speaker 3: just it's like you you own it, you got it,
- 32:18Speaker 3: like and I have to kind of look to you
- 32:19Speaker 3: to like and like when I'm holding her if she
- 32:22Speaker 3: starts freaking her out, freaking out, you kind of calm
- 32:28Speaker 3: me down a lot. So I think that my love
- 32:31Speaker 3: for you can never be stronger. But it's the the deeper.
- 32:36Speaker 3: It's because we have this beautiful little girl and and
- 32:39Speaker 3: you gave her to us.
- 32:41Speaker 1: She's so perfect. But can I tell you today I
- 32:43Speaker 1: went to the bank.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Hold on, You're a pivot y, that's my pivot. Wow.
- 32:51Speaker 2: I loved you.
- 32:53Speaker 1: I needed that boost. I needed the boost. Just just
- 32:57Speaker 1: be patient with me. I'm gonna remember you exist at
- 33:00Speaker 1: some point.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Okay, you know what, Let me go back to uh,
- 33:06Speaker 2: let me answer that question.
- 33:07Speaker 1: I love all. I love you so much as well.
- 33:10Speaker 1: You are everything.
- 33:12Speaker 2: You know that I'm not sure right now, you do know,
- 33:15Speaker 2: let's take.
- 33:17Speaker 1: I love you very much, and you know that I've
- 33:19Speaker 1: texted you very kind of things letting you know how
- 33:23Speaker 1: much I love you and how grateful I am for
- 33:25Speaker 1: the life that you have provided us with that's full
- 33:28Speaker 1: of love. And now you've given me Ocean, so you're
- 33:31Speaker 1: like perfect in my book. Okay, this is what I
- 33:34Speaker 1: was going to say, because you were talking about how
- 33:36Speaker 1: I've changed, so I want to say, Oh, I walked
- 33:40Speaker 1: into today and I had topped Ocean off on the
- 33:44Speaker 1: boobs before we went to the bank, and I was
- 33:47Speaker 1: dressed right, so I just like pulled my little cami
- 33:50Speaker 1: down with the breastfeeding broth underneath, clipped it back up,
- 33:55Speaker 1: and I forgot to pull my came back over in
- 34:00Speaker 1: a nursing bra. So I just walked into the bank
- 34:04Speaker 1: with the bra out, cammy just around the belly, and
- 34:08Speaker 1: a blazer on. Okay, with my Chanelle bag, my Gucci uh,
- 34:14Speaker 1: my Gucci diaper bag, and my cute new kid which
- 34:18Speaker 1: I cover like you should see. Everyone's like, what is
- 34:22Speaker 1: in there exactly? I'm like a newborn baby. They're like, well,
- 34:26Speaker 1: we would assume because it's in a car seat, but
- 34:28Speaker 1: the way it's covered, you would think that there's something
- 34:32Speaker 1: very I'm like, yeah, ocean fucking ken Emmett is in there,
- 34:37Speaker 1: so it's something very special anyway. So yeah, that's how.
- 34:43Speaker 2: That's how this story is.
- 34:45Speaker 3: And I've noticed it because I know you get frustrated
- 34:48Speaker 3: a lot lately. Is that your forgetfulness and like.
- 34:50Speaker 2: With with meetings and dates colendis. But you know what
- 34:53Speaker 2: I said to you.
- 34:54Speaker 3: The doctor told us and other mothers have told you
- 34:57Speaker 3: that pregnancy really fucks with the mind, you know, with
- 35:02Speaker 3: remembering things. And I told you to be patient and
- 35:05Speaker 3: kind to yourself and not get frustrated because you get
- 35:07Speaker 3: frustrated very easily with that. And you just gave birth
- 35:10Speaker 3: like twenty one days ago, and we are back.
- 35:19Speaker 1: We're just talking about all things babies. Because I have
- 35:23Speaker 1: no other identity in one track mind. I don't consist
- 35:29Speaker 1: of anything cool anymore. So that is what I was saying.
- 35:35Speaker 1: I look at my emails right today, and usually I'm
- 35:39Speaker 1: very good. Like you tell me a date, it's stuck
- 35:41Speaker 1: with me. I'm not forgetting it. I like rarely have
- 35:44Speaker 1: to write anything down, even though I have a book
- 35:47Speaker 1: for it. Anyway, So I have a book coming out
- 35:49Speaker 1: called Give Them Lala obviously on May fourth. You can
- 35:53Speaker 1: pre order now, though you.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Change the title give them Lawa with Randall.
- 35:57Speaker 1: No, I didn't, just yeah.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Just me, I thought. I thought with Randall bleeds over time.
- 36:03Speaker 1: So we're starting the little press tour right next week,
- 36:08Speaker 1: and they're giving me dates and all of this stuff,
- 36:11Speaker 1: and they were adding something to the virtual press tour,
- 36:15Speaker 1: and they gave me two dates, the fifteenth or the sixteenth,
- 36:19Speaker 1: and I look at my response and I go, let's
- 36:23Speaker 1: actually do the thirteenth, because because Ocean has this doctor's
- 36:28Speaker 1: appointment on the fourteenth. They're like, oh, cool about the
- 36:32Speaker 1: doctor's appointment. But that was no date number one. It
- 36:37Speaker 1: wasn't an option. And then I just like, involuntarily give
- 36:40Speaker 1: you the fact that my kid has a doctor's appointment
- 36:42Speaker 1: on the fourteenth, because in my mind, those were the
- 36:45Speaker 1: dates they gave me. I cried in the office today
- 36:48Speaker 1: because I was like, how can I be so clueless
- 36:52Speaker 1: right now? Like is this going to be a forever thing?
- 36:54Speaker 1: Because I'm so ocd that shit, and I like to
- 36:59Speaker 1: have control and I don't have any right now, so
- 37:02Speaker 1: I'm kind of tweaking out.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you'll you'll get that back. So because
- 37:08Speaker 2: she's got baby brain right now, Yeah.
- 37:09Speaker 1: No one's gonna want to work with me. They're gonna
- 37:11Speaker 1: be like, this bitch is crazy. Do you know how
- 37:12Speaker 1: any doctor's appointments When I was pregnant with Ocean I
- 37:15Speaker 1: went to on the wrong like three or three or four.
- 37:18Speaker 1: I would walk in and finally they'd be like, we'll
- 37:20Speaker 1: just fit you in. Can you come at lunch? No,
- 37:24Speaker 1: it's so I feel for moms. I totally get it.
- 37:28Speaker 2: You are one now.
- 37:29Speaker 1: No, okay, I know weird feel for your kind now, yeah,
- 37:32Speaker 1: those are my people. Those are my my folks. What
- 37:36Speaker 1: are you gonna say, rand, Do you think we're still
- 37:39Speaker 1: good at podcasting?
- 37:40Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 37:41Speaker 1: You don't know, No, I don't know.
- 37:43Speaker 3: I never even thought anybody would listen in the first place.
- 37:45Speaker 3: So they told us we're getting like one hundred thousand listens.
- 37:48Speaker 2: A week plus. I was like, Wow, they must really.
- 37:52Speaker 3: Like you, because I have I have like I have
- 37:55Speaker 3: a good amount of fans, like I've had like I
- 37:58Speaker 3: think thirty to forty people.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Tell me they are a fan of mine. So that's good.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Oh that's a lot.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Now I have a question though important. Let's play
- 38:05Speaker 2: a little baby game.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Okay.
- 38:06Speaker 3: The baby game is going to be I give you
- 38:10Speaker 3: three questions, okay, and you just answer them and it's
- 38:12Speaker 3: more of like just more of an experienced baby game,
- 38:16Speaker 3: not really like a trivia game.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Okay, I like that.
- 38:18Speaker 3: For the first episode, Best moment you've had with Ocean
- 38:24Speaker 3: at home, for the time you got home out of
- 38:27Speaker 3: the hospital, best moment you can remind I know they're
- 38:29Speaker 3: all great. Just pick one that really stands out, that
- 38:32Speaker 3: was really magical for you.
- 38:35Speaker 1: Okay, this one is okay, this actually was just the
- 38:39Speaker 1: other night. My mom came into town. Randa was at
- 38:41Speaker 1: a pick a ball tournament down in Newport Beach, and
- 38:44Speaker 1: Ocean I put her her. It's called the docatat, which
- 38:47Speaker 1: is every new mom should have one. It's like a
- 38:50Speaker 1: little area to put your baby and shape like a
- 38:53Speaker 1: little boat kind of. But I put her in there. Okay.
- 38:57Speaker 1: My mom's on the other side of her, and we're
- 38:59Speaker 1: in the bed and she is chilling. Ocean is okay,
- 39:03Speaker 1: properly fed, no tummy issues, and we're just watching Real
- 39:09Speaker 1: Housewives of New York on hulu og episodes, and she
- 39:15Speaker 1: was digging it. And I was like, this is the
- 39:18Speaker 1: most awesome moment. My baby is down for Bravo when
- 39:24Speaker 1: I thought, and her eyes were open.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Roll the whole tape up.
- 39:30Speaker 3: I understand what the fuck's happening because I checked out
- 39:33Speaker 3: for a minute.
- 39:34Speaker 2: So I asked you for an emotional moment that you
- 39:36Speaker 2: remember forever.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Did he say emotional? I thought, he said, my favorite.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Moment, My favorite moment, Your favorite moment you remember is
- 39:43Speaker 3: the baby watching the Housewives?
- 39:45Speaker 2: It was it was just no, she was watching it.
- 39:48Speaker 1: She definitely wasn't watching it. She was just staring at me.
- 39:51Speaker 2: You mean, just that she was chilling with you.
- 39:53Speaker 1: It was just like so cute to have me her
- 39:56Speaker 1: in the middle, my mom on the other.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Side, the girl's moment, and your dog with you. I
- 40:01Speaker 2: get it. I miss because I thought, oh shit, she like,
- 40:04Speaker 2: what does she think of oc in New York?
- 40:06Speaker 1: No?
- 40:07Speaker 2: Sorry, what does she think of Housewives of New York?
- 40:09Speaker 2: But I get it.
- 40:10Speaker 1: No, But she had her bank in. She was happy.
- 40:12Speaker 3: You were just having your perfect family moment, like your
- 40:15Speaker 3: mom daughter.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Because Ocean and I do a lot of skin to
- 40:18Speaker 1: skin like that's an every night and every morning thing.
- 40:21Speaker 1: You know, those are my favorite quote unquote moments.
- 40:24Speaker 2: But this is like a fine, great moment.
- 40:27Speaker 1: No where. Like I took a video not even to post,
- 40:30Speaker 1: which is a big deal in this day and age.
- 40:32Speaker 1: If you're taking a video just for your memory and
- 40:34Speaker 1: not to show it to other people, big deal.
- 40:37Speaker 2: I do that a lot. Oh God, I do.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Please cue all the eye rolls in the world.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Oh my fucking whatever. I can't believe you're saying that.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Don't bullshit the book.
- 40:49Speaker 3: I took videos this weekend of London and Riley for
- 40:53Speaker 3: my own collection. I took videos of you and Ocean
- 40:56Speaker 3: for my own collection that I didn't post.
- 40:58Speaker 2: Anyway, I'm not so much what the fun.
- 41:01Speaker 1: I don't even know why you're trying. Like, I'm here,
- 41:04Speaker 1: You've got me, okay, you know, you got me knocked up,
- 41:07Speaker 1: like I can't go anywhere.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Okay, that's really not the reason, but okay.
- 41:13Speaker 1: I'm trying to keep it still fun on the podcast.
- 41:15Speaker 1: We can't just talk about like amazing moments of being
- 41:17Speaker 1: a new Moment's episode back.
- 41:20Speaker 2: People want to know about it.
- 41:22Speaker 3: I think this episode, I think the second episode, we're
- 41:26Speaker 3: gonna move on to other things and guests again, but I.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Want to be cheesy and tell you I want to
- 41:30Speaker 1: be with you forever because I think you're the best
- 41:32Speaker 1: man I know.
- 41:33Speaker 3: Baby, Listen, First of all, I love you, and honestly,
- 41:36Speaker 3: we are fun and we are cool as fuck, I think,
- 41:39Speaker 3: at least in my own mind, and we have fun together.
- 41:41Speaker 2: And honestly, I like.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Doing this podcast with you because it's something that we
- 41:44Speaker 3: do together and sometimes it's emotional and heavy, and sometimes
- 41:48Speaker 3: it's light and fun, and I hope more so it's
- 41:50Speaker 3: light and fun for people because we like to laugh
- 41:53Speaker 3: at ourselves a lot. But this was your moment. I
- 41:56Speaker 3: just wanted your Obviously, this podcast is most of your fans,
- 42:03Speaker 3: and I want them. I want to really wanted you
- 42:05Speaker 3: this episode, and I think you did a great job
- 42:07Speaker 3: of letting people know what what it was like for you,
- 42:10Speaker 3: because you didn't get a chance to show that to
- 42:12Speaker 3: anybody because it was your own personal thing and you
- 42:14Speaker 3: were very adam adamant about going through that. So I
- 42:17Speaker 3: just I think it was important this podcast for you
- 42:20Speaker 3: to share that journey, which I think you shared really
- 42:24Speaker 3: really well and was very moving, because it is a
- 42:26Speaker 3: beautiful thing to be part of and I just want
- 42:30Speaker 3: to say, so my first question and i'm myself that's right.
- 42:33Speaker 1: We're playing a trivia game or not a trivia game.
- 42:35Speaker 3: The trivia game, but not a trivia So the game
- 42:38Speaker 3: is called a trivia game, not a trivia game.
- 42:41Speaker 2: So remember that too.
- 42:44Speaker 1: I like it.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Okay. So the second question that trivia not a trivia.
- 42:47Speaker 3: Game, is the one thing in the last three weeks
- 42:51Speaker 3: since Ocean has been here that you didn't weren't prepared for.
- 42:55Speaker 3: Was there anything you weren't prepared for that maybe you
- 42:58Speaker 3: thought or was completely different, or anything that's just something
- 43:01Speaker 3: that they didn't tell you about. You know that you
- 43:03Speaker 3: only could experience as being a first time mom. Anything
- 43:07Speaker 3: that stands out.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I think it would be like the gosh, there's so
- 43:12Speaker 1: many things that people tell you to prepare for it,
- 43:15Speaker 1: and you're like, I'll be fine, Like when they tell
- 43:17Speaker 1: you your baby's gonna scream at the top of her lungs. Yeah,
- 43:19Speaker 1: and it could be any of these reasons, and you're like, oh,
- 43:22Speaker 1: we're bonded, I'm sure I'll figure it out. And it's like, Okay,
- 43:25Speaker 1: I've literally changed all the diapers that you seventy six
- 43:30Speaker 1: times on both tits, you know, like tried all the bankies.
- 43:34Speaker 1: What the fuck is happening to you?
- 43:36Speaker 2: I tell you, mothers, it's not easy. It's you guys
- 43:39Speaker 2: are our heroes.
- 43:41Speaker 1: I think that's what it would be, is just like
- 43:43Speaker 1: all of those the crying, which is like okay, normal,
- 43:47Speaker 1: but when you don't know why your baby's screaming, you know,
- 43:51Speaker 1: and then it's like, oh, it could just be like
- 43:53Speaker 1: tummy issues and you're like, well, how do I get
- 43:55Speaker 1: that to go away?
- 43:58Speaker 2: Can't you know? That's amazing? That's a good answer, Okay.
- 44:02Speaker 3: And the last question of the trivia not trivia game
- 44:08Speaker 3: is what is the one thing you want Ocean to
- 44:15Speaker 3: know about her mother? When she was in your stomach?
- 44:18Speaker 3: What's the one thing you want her to rim for you.
- 44:21Speaker 2: To be able to tell her.
- 44:23Speaker 1: I wish that it could be like some profound thing
- 44:26Speaker 1: that I could tell her that I was thinking or
- 44:30Speaker 1: telling her, But it would just be like how much
- 44:32Speaker 1: I love her. He took a video the other day,
- 44:36Speaker 1: and I was thinking about when she's older, and I
- 44:39Speaker 1: get it where if she's acting a certain way, it's
- 44:41Speaker 1: going to be like I love you so much? How
- 44:43Speaker 1: could you be mean right now? Like you don't get
- 44:48Speaker 1: how much I love you. And I know that's going
- 44:51Speaker 1: to happen, you know, when she gets into the And
- 44:53Speaker 1: I don't even want to think about it, but I
- 44:55Speaker 1: do think about it because I love inflicting emotional pain
- 44:58Speaker 1: onto myself. I don't know why, but that's what it
- 45:02Speaker 1: would be, is like, you don't understand how much I
- 45:07Speaker 1: love you. The second I found out, it was like,
- 45:11Speaker 1: you're my baby, but you.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Know how lucky. You know how lucky you are. Though.
- 45:15Speaker 3: I was thinking about the other day, and people don't
- 45:17Speaker 3: know this about law, but I suggested because when the
- 45:21Speaker 3: minute you got pregnant, you were so in love just
- 45:24Speaker 3: being pregnant. And I said, I love watching this connection
- 45:28Speaker 3: you had and how beautiful it was. And I made
- 45:30Speaker 3: a suggestion to you and you really owned it. And wow,
- 45:35Speaker 3: is Ocean going to be lucky when she's old enough
- 45:39Speaker 3: to read tell tell people what you did.
- 45:42Speaker 1: I kept a journal that was basically, you know, not
- 45:46Speaker 1: really a journal for myself of what I went through,
- 45:48Speaker 1: but like basically letters to Ocean in a book that
- 45:53Speaker 1: when she is when I feel like it's that time,
- 45:56Speaker 1: she can read back on when I was pregnant with her,
- 45:58Speaker 1: I tell her about my day, so she can literally
- 46:01Speaker 1: look at what week I was at in my pregnancy
- 46:05Speaker 1: and be like, oh, that's what my mom did today.
- 46:07Speaker 2: So I told her, I said, Babe, I think because
- 46:10Speaker 2: she was that.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Was the best thing you could have told me to
- 46:12Speaker 1: do too.
- 46:13Speaker 3: Yeah, she was so emotional and she had so much
- 46:15Speaker 3: to say. Lawa had so much to share, and she
- 46:19Speaker 3: was like filled with emotion, like I think all expecting
- 46:22Speaker 3: mothers are.
- 46:23Speaker 2: But I said to her, I said, you know.
- 46:25Speaker 3: You're such a great writer and you love sharing your
- 46:28Speaker 3: thoughts in writing. Why don't you just put a book
- 46:31Speaker 3: next to your bed and write down whatever you feel
- 46:34Speaker 3: like writing.
- 46:35Speaker 2: It doesn't be every day, it could be whenever you feel.
- 46:37Speaker 3: Yeah, and now that book is filled with I haven't
- 46:40Speaker 3: even read it because she hasn't even shown me. And
- 46:43Speaker 3: I'm so excited for her one day to give that
- 46:46Speaker 3: to Ocean because it's probably going to mean the world
- 46:48Speaker 3: to her.
- 46:48Speaker 2: So that's really cool.
- 46:49Speaker 1: I'm super excited about it. Yeah, it's really She's gonna
- 46:52Speaker 1: have to be a little older though, because I like
- 46:54Speaker 1: talk to her about like what great AA meetings I
- 46:57Speaker 1: had attended for the week.
- 47:01Speaker 3: All Right, she might have to wait till but anyway,
- 47:04Speaker 3: she eventually she'll have this book and she'll be able
- 47:07Speaker 3: to say, my mom wrote this why I was in
- 47:08Speaker 3: her stomach, and I think it's really beautiful. So I'm
- 47:11Speaker 3: really proud that you did that because I know you
- 47:13Speaker 3: had a lot of shitty days, like all pregnant mothers
- 47:16Speaker 3: Avenue had a lot of beautiful days. And the fact
- 47:19Speaker 3: that you were consistent for all that time to write
- 47:22Speaker 3: the stories.
- 47:23Speaker 1: When you hear about women that have been trying to
- 47:25Speaker 1: get pregnant for a really long time, though, it's almost like,
- 47:27Speaker 1: how can I really complain about now? You know, it's like, yes,
- 47:32Speaker 1: it's a real thing, and I don't want to be
- 47:34Speaker 1: that type of person that's like my mom is this
- 47:37Speaker 1: way where I'm like, like, I'll be complaining and my
- 47:39Speaker 1: mom will say something like will just be thankful because
- 47:42Speaker 1: at least this is not going on for you or
- 47:44Speaker 1: like whatever. You know. But when you hear women who
- 47:48Speaker 1: have been trying for five years and beyond even I
- 47:53Speaker 1: mean even you go a year and you're like, what's
- 47:55Speaker 1: wrong with my body? Where you think that you just
- 47:58Speaker 1: can get pregnant really quickly because that's what your body's
- 48:01Speaker 1: meant to do. And it's it's actually not that easy.
- 48:05Speaker 3: And I know that we talked about that with women
- 48:07Speaker 3: who struggle to get pregnant or you know, all the
- 48:11Speaker 3: things that a woman goes through and and you know,
- 48:14Speaker 3: it's my heart goes out and I'm tim, I'm sure
- 48:18Speaker 3: you agree that a woman, you know, trying to have
- 48:22Speaker 3: a baby or having a baby, that is a miracle
- 48:25Speaker 3: of life, all of it.
- 48:27Speaker 2: And you know, I don't I couldn't even imagine.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Well, you also don't realize all the things that can
- 48:32Speaker 1: go wrong, Like when I was had, when we were
- 48:35Speaker 1: having issues with her weight and he's like her her
- 48:38Speaker 1: leg bone, I'm like, I didn't even think about what
- 48:42Speaker 1: her leg bones would be doing, you know.
- 48:45Speaker 3: But I mean we had we had I mean you
- 48:46Speaker 3: didn't really share with everybody because you know, it was
- 48:49Speaker 3: obviously private and you share a little bit, but you know,
- 48:53Speaker 3: you and I definitely there was a solid I would
- 48:57Speaker 3: say three or three months, maybe four or where we
- 49:01Speaker 3: were going to a lot of doctors, a lot of testing,
- 49:03Speaker 3: or we were really didn't know. And I think in
- 49:07Speaker 3: the end they gave us a lot of confidence to
- 49:09Speaker 3: say that we were okay, that we are going to
- 49:12Speaker 3: be okay.
- 49:13Speaker 2: They believe.
- 49:13Speaker 3: But again, you know, if you start out the way
- 49:15Speaker 3: we started out, I don't think we ever felt we
- 49:17Speaker 3: were okay, and we just pray to God that God
- 49:21Speaker 3: would take care of our baby and give us a
- 49:23Speaker 3: healthy child, and that's all we can ask for it.
- 49:25Speaker 2: But it was, you know, it was.
- 49:28Speaker 3: I think everybody has their own experience with trying to
- 49:31Speaker 3: get pregnant and being pregnant, and everybody's.
- 49:34Speaker 2: Journey is different.
- 49:35Speaker 1: I know. I love like seeing comments on my Instagram
- 49:38Speaker 1: now because it used to be like a lot of
- 49:40Speaker 1: just like stupid things that like really, who gives a damn?
- 49:46Speaker 1: Now I have moms like it's become a full oh yeah,
- 49:49Speaker 1: My Instagram is full mom mode and I love it.
- 49:54Speaker 1: I'm like, this is so positive. Best time on Instagram.
- 49:58Speaker 2: Now, that's awesome. Look at the pluses, a bunch of.
- 50:03Speaker 1: Fucking turbo mom's killing it right, you know. And now
- 50:08Speaker 1: I'll see women at like the grove and they're like
- 50:10Speaker 1: changing their babies on their laps, you know, like these
- 50:13Speaker 1: one year old and the one year old's freaking the
- 50:15Speaker 1: fuck out and the mom is just champion with freaking
- 50:18Speaker 1: Kylie Jenner nails. I'm like, oh you are Badassah.
- 50:23Speaker 2: People really know, people really know.
- 50:25Speaker 3: That we have had a baby. Specifically, you have had
- 50:28Speaker 3: a baby. I did not have the baby you did.
- 50:31Speaker 3: But I was even even at the even at the
- 50:34Speaker 3: pickleball tournament the other day, I was walking off the
- 50:38Speaker 3: court to another court and two women came right up
- 50:41Speaker 3: to me and they said congratulations.
- 50:43Speaker 2: I was like, meeting on my wind that I.
- 50:45Speaker 3: Just had two soons ago, and they said, no, congratulations
- 50:49Speaker 3: on your new baby.
- 50:50Speaker 2: And I was like, oh my god, that's so sweet.
- 50:52Speaker 3: And I mean, so now in the pickleball world, they're
- 50:56Speaker 3: coming up congratulating me for our babies.
- 50:58Speaker 2: So I think it's it's great and it was very sweet.
- 51:02Speaker 1: So anyway, that is sweet.
- 51:04Speaker 3: I told you I have like eight to twelve fans,
- 51:06Speaker 3: and two of them are in picklep all the.
- 51:07Speaker 1: Other that's all you need. It's the quality, not quantity.
- 51:11Speaker 2: I agree. I'm good with you. Anyway, this has been
