- 0:02Hello, everyone. Welcome back to Eye Opener Society. Thank you so much for tuning
- 0:07in and welcome to the new season.
- 0:10We have so many things to get ready to do for this season. Lizzie and I have
- 0:15been talking in the background and we got so many great plans.
- 0:19But in the meantime, I want to thank you, the listeners, for all the downloads,
- 0:24for all the listens. It means so much.
- 0:29We appreciate you joining on the Thursday night sermons as well for my guided meditations.
- 0:36We took a little week break and we are back and we're excited about this.
- 0:41But first, I must give a disclaimer because we're going to be talking about some things. All right.
- 0:48Sensitive subject matters and also for some people who may have trigger warnings
- 0:51if you're involved in any kind of addictions, gambling, drinking,
- 0:57drugs, and that sort of thing.
- 1:00So I just wanted to give a fair warning on this. And I also want to let you
- 1:03know that Lizzie and I, we are not doctors, but we are going to talk about some,
- 1:10subject matters and there's a reason behind it.
- 1:14So I'm going to start off real quick by saying thank you to Appalachian Rootworks,
- 1:19Carly and And Carla, thank you so much for the opportunity to come down there
- 1:22and conduct my very first meditation class. It was absolutely amazing.
- 1:29Cat's out of the bag. We're going to be looking to relocate down to Cynthiana, Kentucky.
- 1:36Hopefully that can happen in December. And we can't wait because so many more
- 1:40opportunities are going to open up. So why don't we go ahead and get started on this show.
- 1:47Lizzie, how are you, buddy? How are you doing? Thank you for joining us here.
- 1:53Good. I'm just spring cleaning my life. Yes. And Lizzie, by the way,
- 1:59was 30 minutes late to the start of this year recording, but that's okay.
- 2:05We all got stuff we got to do.
- 2:07But listen, Lizzie, I brought up to you something a while ago.
- 2:12We were going to have an episode based solely on sex.
- 2:16And, you know, we kind of reconsidered because, I mean, I'm not doing it to
- 2:20get more listens. I'm not saying, hey, sex sells.
- 2:23There's a complete reason behind it.
- 2:26You and I are very open to each other.
- 2:31And obviously, we're probably going to be very open to the audience as well.
- 2:35We have had some, I'll say, colorful sexual pasts.
- 2:40Let's just say that.
- 2:42Nothing I'm going to sit here and hide behind and say, oh, this is bad.
- 2:47But here's the reason for the whole, well, the whole reason for me bringing it up.
- 2:54We have a ministry and over the years and then even more recently when i'm diving
- 3:02into different religions spirituality metaphysics no matter what it is,
- 3:07they're always saying something about sex and how you know the pearl clutchers
- 3:14basically oh my you can't join this religion, or you can't be part of his spiritual,
- 3:20if you're having crazy sex or whatever.
- 3:25I took this to heart a lot of times, and especially going through my studies,
- 3:31even the University of Metaphysics had a whole section in there on sex.
- 3:36And but it forewarned, do not overindulge.
- 3:43And to me, I'm like, Thank you.
- 3:47I overindulged in the past. But, you know, as a consenting adult in consenting situations,
- 3:58I've had, like I said, a very colorful sexual past.
- 4:03I've been involved in the swinger lifestyle with my ex-wife,
- 4:08and we had a very open relationship.
- 4:10And we've had numerous sexual partners and probably numerous sexual partners together all at once.
- 4:18And when you go into certain religions, this is so damn forbidden.
- 4:26And so it's basically saying, well, we're going to leave you out.
- 4:33So I brought that up. Just, Lizzie, give me some of your feedback.
- 4:37I know we spoke, but let's get this all out into the open.
- 4:41Well, you gave me a lot there, so... Um, first, I gotta say that I think religion
- 4:50really harps on things like sex and stuff,
- 4:53because they don't intend to, but people who are very minded that way have a
- 4:59very external sense of their power.
- 5:03And through connecting to your body and sexual energy is a really good way to
- 5:09reclaim your power back.
- 5:11And so by knocking that off the table, and I don't think they necessarily do
- 5:16it on purpose. It's just kind of like cause and effect.
- 5:21But I think that it becomes very problematic because when you start blocking off different ways.
- 5:28That you want to exist, it really starts limiting you down.
- 5:34And the thing is, is everything in this world, I've noticed,
- 5:36seems to start very much on polarity. Either you're very for something,
- 5:41or you're very against something.
- 5:44And then what always happens is when you hit your spiritual awakening,
- 5:47you tend to find that you more or less are doing, like, the opposite.
- 5:53Whatever it is, Like if you start very spiritual or very religious and very like clean purity idea,
- 6:02a lot of times when you go in and leave the church, whether temporary or not,
- 6:07I've seen this over and over again because I live in a very religious state.
- 6:11They get a little crazy. They're the ones at the bar that's like you're you're
- 6:15trying to keep them from getting arrested or something.
- 6:19You know, they just like swing so far the other way.
- 6:22And then I think the same thing happens for a lot of people uh in the,
- 6:27on the other end as well if they started super like self-exploratory and connecting
- 6:32to their body or anything you know or maybe just like being a rebel I don't
- 6:37know whatever their journey is
- 6:39a lot of times they end up swinging the other way and that's I think where you find a lot of people,
- 6:44who are very spiritual minded but still have it like listed off as one of those
- 6:49like lower residency activities,
- 6:53Because it just you just always kind of have to experience both of them,
- 6:56because I guess that's like the world we live in or something.
- 7:01But, oh, I have one more point to what you said, but now I don't remember.
- 7:05Maybe go ahead and interject with your thoughts now.
- 7:09OK, yeah, no worries. Interrupt me if you got your thought back.
- 7:13Yeah, I was pushing this because and it's not like I'm telling you go out there
- 7:17and have sex with multiple partners and all.
- 7:19It's just, I think each individual who's had any type of experience in the past
- 7:26or even currently should not be excluded,
- 7:30because I'm seeing it too in the spiritual community, of course,
- 7:33with the gatekeeping, oh, it's very low vibrational energy.
- 7:37I don't think sex is a very low vibrational energy.
- 7:43Then the other problem too is we have some people in the spiritual community
- 7:48that work with sex magic, you know, and it sometimes doesn't even have to include another person.
- 7:54It's masturbation and the orgasm becomes, you know, the key to getting all of the magic out there.
- 8:01So there are people that actually practice this.
- 8:05Why should we exclude and that's where i had the problem you know with this
- 8:11it's a very adult-like thing for us,
- 8:16as human beings to experience what we feel is right now we were talking how
- 8:23we our bodies are our temples and i said well why not party in it.
- 8:31I see you had I seen you had a thought there on your mind. Did you want to jump in?
- 8:36Oh yeah but now i got on the party in your temple yeah oh,
- 8:43but no i think it's so important the thing is is there's a reason why we all
- 8:48come down here and we start so different and we always.
- 8:53If we're being authentic with ourselves we never end where we start you know
- 8:58what i mean we're supposed to be partying in it and treating it as sacred and
- 9:03i don't think those things are mutually really exclusive things.
- 9:08You know what I mean? Now, if you don't feel good about going out and doing
- 9:12anything, like, then that's not a spiritually good thing for you.
- 9:16You know, if it brings guilt and shame, then that's not a good thing to explore
- 9:20for you right now. Maybe process why it brings that. Think about exploring it later.
- 9:25But if it's something that you want to do, then it's something that your soul
- 9:30is asking to explore and see what you're going to get from it.
- 9:34And I think that sex magic if so if you go back in history it sex has always
- 9:40been a very sacred activity
- 9:43and it's in basically all the ancient religions and stuff and it wasn't entirely
- 9:48got very patriarchal where instead of it was like two genders that like swirl
- 9:54around each other or whatever like two polarities it became like,
- 9:58uh tilted with an authority and a non-authority right and when it got tilted
- 10:03then sex became this like shameful activity,
- 10:06but truthfully everybody just shames everything we were we were gonna make this
- 10:10episode all about sex but then we were talking about it like it didn't really
- 10:14make sense to do it only about that
- 10:17because it really covers the whole aspect of all of it like alcohol.
- 10:22Nicotine um you know what i mean your your your bad quote music whatever it's
- 10:29not in the right frequency the thing is is.
- 10:34Nobody, okay, okay, if you,
- 10:39suddenly listened to, say, 432, which is the frequency of love,
- 10:44and you listened to that and only that, even if it felt good in the beginning,
- 10:49you'll eventually be numbed to it, and then you'll find it annoying.
- 10:54We're not meant to have, like, the same thing.
- 10:58I think the only time we really do that is when that's the groove that we found
- 11:02that's, like, safe for us. We generally do want to explore.
- 11:06And the thing is, is all of these things have way more to do with how you feel
- 11:12about them than what they actually are.
- 11:15If you're meditating every day, but you hate it and you feel like it's like
- 11:20the worst chore ever, but it's like you have to do it or life's forever going to suck.
- 11:25That's way worse for like your resonance than going and having a you're with a friend.
- 11:32Yes, that is all beautiful. And you've touched on a whole bunch of points.
- 11:36And I wanted to bring all of this up because, again, us as ministers for our
- 11:43own ministry, we're open arms to everybody. I'm not going to sit there and say,
- 11:48oh, because you've had sex in this way or that way, you can't join.
- 11:52I want to be that first type of ministry that allows people to explore safely,
- 12:01consensually, within legal limits, what they want.
- 12:06Now, and like you said, we didn't want to make this whole show about sex.
- 12:11It's one of my pushing points when it comes to spirituality and all,
- 12:16when everybody says, well, you have to do this and you shouldn't do it this way.
- 12:20But listen, but I want to bring up other things. Like we said,
- 12:24with alcohol, you know, I used to drink hard, you know, but it was never alcoholism.
- 12:31I just, when I did drink, oh, damn, I drank to the point where I built up such
- 12:35a resistance to alcohol.
- 12:37But I stopped over the years and I really calmed down.
- 12:41And I know I spoke to you a couple of times. Hey, I went out for a beer and damn, it felt good.
- 12:46Why should I feel guilty about that?
- 12:51But let me throw something else at you. Some ministries, some churches, tattoos, right?
- 12:58You're sinning by putting ink on your body. You know, that's the devil's curse
- 13:02or whatever the case may be.
- 13:05Why should, if I enjoy having tattoos, why should that be looked down upon?
- 13:12I don't want this ministry to become that whole, you know, we're an image and
- 13:17we're looking down on everybody.
- 13:19We're all part of everybody in every way And that's where acceptance comes in,
- 13:25So if you do want to enjoy that beer every now and then Or two or three and
- 13:30you want to have a good time As long as you're doing it safely You're not, you know,
- 13:34hurting yourself And you're not addicted to this kind of stuff Cigarettes,
- 13:39hey, Elaine, our other minister When I met her, I don't smoke But I sat in her
- 13:45car and we smoked tons of cigarettes together You know what?
- 13:49Hey, did it harm me?
- 13:53Did it feel good to sit with another human being that I really connected with
- 13:57and maybe share something like cigarettes? Big deal, right?
- 14:01I don't judge anybody for it.
- 14:04Because we could look at marijuana now, which is a big deal.
- 14:06It's illegal here. It's not legal there. People that use it.
- 14:11I don't see any reason why they should be looked down upon either.
- 14:16It's just one more vice that we find that helps us.
- 14:22And listen, we're going to get into pretty soon mushrooms too. The whole study on them.
- 14:28It's amazing how much this stuff actually helps us.
- 14:32And it could give us a spiritual gateway. What are your thoughts there, Lizzie?
- 14:37Oh, absolutely. Okay, so I have this belief.
- 14:41That if a truth emerges all over the planet at different times periods with
- 14:46different people, then there's some truth to it.
- 14:50And across the globe and throughout time, humans have always liked these mind-altering things.
- 14:57They've always been linked to just a part of living within reason and then for spiritual practices.
- 15:05They did these things in community and danced around and connected.
- 15:11And even if you're not having, like, you know, even if you're not doing psychedelics
- 15:16and meeting your, like, whatever god you're connecting with or whatever.
- 15:23You could still drink and dance around a fire.
- 15:25And that bonding that you guys would do alone would create the kind of loyalty
- 15:31that would be necessary for these communities to actually protect each other.
- 15:37You know, if you think about it in a hunter-gatherer society,
- 15:41when the men would go hunting, okay, I'm going to say people because that's
- 15:44very stereotypical. They're finding a lot more women hunted than they used to. That was my bad.
- 15:50But the thing is, is you would be faced with decisions where you had to risk
- 15:55your life to save your friend.
- 15:58You know what I mean? And so each person in the community had to be somebody
- 16:02you loved because you guys were going on like the battlefield together.
- 16:07And then even the women and children, they pass those kids around because it
- 16:11doesn't just take one person to keep a little harmless, like squishy baby safe in the wilderness.
- 16:17It takes a whole group of people.
- 16:19And they're out there foraging with their little kids and their little toddlers
- 16:23and they're watching out for each other you have to love everybody
- 16:28and no you don't need alcohol to do that but dang isn't it kind of bonding to
- 16:32just like have a beer with somebody you know what I mean
- 16:36that that's one thing and you know smoking does the same thing a cigarette with
- 16:40somebody or a bowl of weed and you guys are like buddies now you know you guys
- 16:44know each other a little bit deeper there's some sort of thing.
- 16:48It's like you guys quote on the same frequency.
- 16:52And so you can bond. But I also think that that can be problematic because if
- 16:57you go and you drink in the same places and you drink heavily,
- 17:01then you're absorbing that frequency.
- 17:03So when in these things, it's really important to think about how you feel when
- 17:08using or doing something and then how you feel long term about being with the
- 17:13people who are also doing exactly what you're doing.
- 17:18Yeah, I love everything about that. And it brings up some thoughts.
- 17:22I never even thought of that.
- 17:24What we're talking about is celebratory. If we went out there and we lived the
- 17:29whole day and we fought and survived together.
- 17:33But at the end of the week, hey, let's all sit back and have a beer,
- 17:37you know, or have a smoke or whatever.
- 17:40Celebratory. And I'll tell you something else. I've been in bars where everybody's
- 17:46drinking, and there were just days I don't feel like it.
- 17:50And I could sit there at a bar and drink a water or drink a soda, and I'm fine.
- 17:55So we can still celebrate. People danced, and even dancing in some religions is the devil's work.
- 18:06Because it brings your authority back to yourself, just for the record.
- 18:10I like that. And you're absolutely right, though. And this is why I bought all of this up.
- 18:18It all started, like I said, with, you know, the sex. Oh, my God.
- 18:21Make sure you're doing it, you know, monogamous and you're doing it this way.
- 18:25No, man. Listen, everybody's got a different way of doing it.
- 18:29And that brings, like you say, it brings power back to the people.
- 18:34I'm going to celebrate. I'm going to celebrate in the way that I feel.
- 18:37And if I choose to celebrate with others, that's fantastic.
- 18:42We're a community, and that's the way we need to look at things.
- 18:46Yes, those that need help, because yes, there is addiction, and I'm not going
- 18:50to ignore that fact, and there are people whom overindulge to the point where it's harmful,
- 18:55but that's an individual problem, and people need to get help with that,
- 18:59and I think we, too, as a society, need to recognize, because here's.
- 19:04I know you probably got a lot to say, but here's when it comes to,
- 19:08I know, just start writing it down so you don't wish it to be thought.
- 19:11I the one especially when it comes to alcohol and here's the problem I have
- 19:15with it if somebody does not drink,
- 19:19we cannot sit there and say hey come on man just one beer you know I don't believe
- 19:23in forcing somebody into it but you know that's what's happening in society,
- 19:28I noticed some of our local little gas stations around here,
- 19:33they got the ability to serve alcohol and you know and all one day i went into
- 19:40one of these places because i really wanted orange juice because i love my vitamin
- 19:44c and it's a very good drink for me,
- 19:47no damn orange juice but damn i could get alcohol up the ass in these places,
- 19:53and i found that this is a problem because all we're doing,
- 19:57is pushing people into the wrong path now on top of the alcohol,
- 20:01gambling machines inside these stores.
- 20:04So you get the mixture of the gambling and the alcohol, and they're just sitting there pumping it.
- 20:09This is why I say, we're not doctors. We're not pushing people to do this.
- 20:15Moderation does help. Don't get yourself addicted. Take it away, Lizzie.
- 20:22So, the thing is, is this is how people get caught in shame spirals.
- 20:27You're not supposed to drink. So then, okay, but yeah, there's no orange juice.
- 20:31So, you know, you have a beer and, you know, you excuse it, whatever.
- 20:34But then you're sitting right there and you're like, well, I'm not supposed
- 20:36to gamble, but I'm already having a beer.
- 20:39It's the same idea with people who binge eat, you know what I mean?
- 20:42Or who drink too much and they think, well, I already had one.
- 20:45I might as well have two. I might as well have seven.
- 20:47The thing is, is none of these things are anything to be shamed.
- 20:51They're just different things that we're exploring or not exploring,
- 20:55and it's all about what you're doing.
- 20:57And yeah, if you're drinking to the point of not functioning in the world,
- 21:02that's not a great place to be.
- 21:04So I would classify myself as a past functional alcoholic because I held my
- 21:12job really well. I was on time.
- 21:14I did all the parenting things. I did everything I was supposed to do,
- 21:18but I did it drunk for a couple of years because life just changed.
- 21:21Kind of honestly sucked and I didn't really I was just trying to make it through, you know.
- 21:25And then that's kind of about that time period was when my spiritual awakening
- 21:31started and I started using a pendulum and connecting to things.
- 21:35And everybody around me kept telling me I'm not supposed to be drinking,
- 21:39even like while I'm like reading tarot cards.
- 21:41I love getting drunk and reading tarot cards. I had the best readings at that
- 21:45time because I wasn't stuck in my head about what all these things meant.
- 21:50And if I was going to offend them by what I said that was that something that
- 21:54always gets me in tarot because I can feel when I'm about to say something they're not ready for me to say
- 22:00and I just I'm just I guess still getting over that but when I'm drunk I'll
- 22:04just I'll just say it not even notice you're offended and keep going and then
- 22:08at the end you're like damn okay yeah you know what I mean and so I got really good at those things,
- 22:15wow like trash like I have no memory of it I do Marco Polo video journals of
- 22:21like energy sessions on myself and not remember them
- 22:24but like my life would be different and I'd like go back and look and I'm like
- 22:29oh oh okay I see what you did there like.
- 22:34I'm not condoning this. I recommend doing it sober.
- 22:38When I then did get sober, I then almost had to relearn how to do these things
- 22:44because now my ego was all in my way.
- 22:46I'd been bypassing my ego through alcohol because I'm drunk.
- 22:50I'm just like free, whatever, you know, and it's just a funny little excuse, I guess.
- 22:55I gave myself to be free, but when I started giving that to myself,
- 22:59myself everything started coming back and then does actually work a lot better
- 23:05when you're not drunk but
- 23:07you know again it worked for me and if that's where you're at like don't think
- 23:11you have to wait until you get sober
- 23:13to start your spiritual journey if you're drinking every day or whatever it
- 23:18is that you're doing you don't have to quote get pure or get on track before you connect to yourself
- 23:25just connect now wherever you are is just like exactly where you were supposed
- 23:30to be when you connect to yourself
- 23:32and if you're supposed to stop drinking that will feel good at some point and
- 23:36if you're supposed to you know relax your
- 23:40moral boundaries on another thing like that will feel good to you and so that's the whole point is.
- 23:47It's just whatever is gonna make you feel like moving forward and make you feel freer.
- 23:53That's what we're moving out of, is what makes us feel small and trapped and controlled.
- 23:58Whatever it is, movement, sex, art, like getting drunk, dancing,
- 24:03whatever it is, if it makes you feel good and free and closer to your body,
- 24:08that's probably what you should be doing.
- 24:12You said so much, and I think it pretty much rounds up everything that's been
- 24:17on my mind, and I wanted to talk freely about it because, like I said.
- 24:22We're individuals. And here's the thing. I'm a Libra, so I believe in balance.
- 24:27Everything in life can be balanced. So, yes, rather than going on to the addiction
- 24:32side, take in moderation, enjoy, celebrate.
- 24:38This is your life. You know what you're connected to. I don't know what you're
- 24:42connected to. Only you do as the individual.
- 24:46So be proud of anything, whether it be your sexual preferences,
- 24:52whether it be you're celebrating with alcohol or celebrating with tobacco,
- 24:56marijuana, whatever the case, enjoy it.
- 24:59If it's a celebratory thing and you feel good, that's fine.
- 25:03I've learned with meditation, I could get myself into states that alcohol would never bring me into.
- 25:10So I could use meditation. But you know what? If I decide, hey,
- 25:14maybe I'm going to take a shot of my favorite Jack and Coke before I go into
- 25:18a meditative state and it helps me, I should not be judged.
- 25:23And I dare you to try and judge somebody else. This is not what it's about.
- 25:29Everybody has their own choices in life. And those that need help from it,
- 25:34they can get help from it, and we should be helping them with it rather than
- 25:37trying to support it or fuel it.
- 25:40And again, this entire episode was designed because,
- 25:45again, if you feel kind of left out because of some of your choices or the things
- 25:51you do, because other religions or even other spiritual gatekeepers told you
- 25:56you're not accepted, you're not accepted.
- 25:59You are accepted here. And you know what?
- 26:03Let's celebrate as a community, you know? I would love to get everybody into
- 26:09eye-opener society, have a place where we can sing, dance, drink,
- 26:14God help me for saying this, orgy, and everything else.
- 26:19All at once. Let's just celebrate the human spirit.
- 26:24Let us be free again, rather than being so stomped down and oppressed because
- 26:31religion or something tells you something, it's coming from people that don't know.
- 26:36And I got news for you. Those that tell you not to do something the most,
- 26:39usually the ones that have the most skeletons in their closets.
- 26:42And when that door opens, you'll be shocked as to what's going on behind those closed doors.
- 26:49So that's why I wanted to bring to the table. And Lizzie, I appreciate you bringing
- 26:53your thoughts. If you don't have anything else, do you?
