- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Okay. Okay, so conversations with a
- 0:32lot of my business clients this week yielded.
- 0:35Some very interesting information.
- 0:36So I asked everybody, so tell me if I met you out at a party
- 0:42coffee, whatever. And I asked you the simple
- 0:45question. So what do you do?
- 0:47What would your answer be? And boy, oh boy, was I shocked
- 0:51by some of the conversations that ensued from that simple
- 0:54question because a lot of people did not have answers.
- 0:58They were like, well, I So I'd say I'm a doctor I guess I'd say
- 1:06I'm an investment banker. I guess I'd say I'm a real
- 1:10estate agent or I'm a coach everybody had like these very
- 1:15just blase. I don't want to continue this
- 1:19conversation with you answers and those kind of things are not
- 1:24going to get you noticed. They're also not going to get
- 1:26people to want to work with you and they're also not going to
- 1:28make you feel like you can stand out.
- 1:30In a crowd. So think about that question for
- 1:33a second. If you had to answer it, how
- 1:35would you answer the question? What would you say?
- 1:37What would your answer be? If someone said to you.
- 1:39So what do you do? And could you articulate it?
- 1:42And it's really fascinating when you sit there and you say to
- 1:45yourself, well, I'm not sure. Now, this partly this came up
- 1:49because I have been answering this question for myself.
- 1:53Doing a bunch of study work asking that very question of
- 1:55myself. How would I answer this?
- 1:57And I was finding that it was blase and I I was like oh this
- 2:01would not influence me at all. So I was trying to cultivate
- 2:05this study at work on it study aspects of Storytelling diving
- 2:09in doing all kinds of interesting things to bring
- 2:13about something that was conceptual and that I could feel
- 2:16confident in saying and it led down this path of saying, wow.
- 2:22If you're not excited about yourself and you're not excited
- 2:26about what you're doing, how the heck, can anybody else be
- 2:28excited about it? It's really fascinating because
- 2:32most of us are just so innately tied to what we do.
- 2:37It's just, maybe it's boring to us.
- 2:39Maybe it's just very pragmatic and very, you know, all right,
- 2:42whatever. It's just what I do every day, I
- 2:43don't really think much about it.
- 2:45But, you know, there's that old concept that says whatever
- 2:48you're going to do. It doesn't matter if you're a
- 2:49truck driver, if you sweep floors, if you're a short-order
- 2:53cook, do it with excitement, do it with a bunch of enthusiasm
- 2:58and really be able to To get into what you're doing and love
- 3:03it. So I know I absolutely feel that
- 3:05way about coaching, I do it, you know, hours and hours, and
- 3:08hours, and hours, in a week. And I just, I love what I do,
- 3:12but describing it, that was a different one.
- 3:16So I started doing a deep dive into my own head about it and
- 3:20saying, well, what do I really feel about it?
- 3:22What do I want to say about it? How do I want to come across
- 3:24with this? And it really got me going so I
- 3:28thought I do, I'm going to bring it to everybody.
- 3:30When I brought it to everybody else, they were, like, I don't
- 3:32even know what I'm gonna say to this.
- 3:34So, the best thing that I can tell you, we're going to keep
- 3:38this one short and sweet today. What's your answer to that
- 3:40question? When someone says, what do you
- 3:42do? What is your answer to that
- 3:44question? What are you going to say Back?
- 3:46Start writing it on a piece of paper, start listening to it and
- 3:49then the best part is recorded in the voice, memos of your
- 3:52phone, whatever your answer would be and then listen back
- 3:55and say would that intrigued me enough to actually ask someone
- 3:58else? The question and see if They
- 4:00would be interested in working with me short.
- 4:02Sweet. And to the point today, do it
- 4:04see what your answer is and then try to make it better because I
- 4:08guarantee you it won't be what you want.
- 4:10So I hope you guys have a very blessed day and I will see you
- 4:14tomorrow and hopefully by then you'll have thought through some
- 4:17of this and have a better clearer conceptual answer.
- 4:20All right, my friends, I'll talk to you soon.
- 4:23Bye. They would be interested in
- 4:01working with me short. Sweet.
- 4:02And to the point today, do it see what your answer is and then
- 4:06try to make it better because I guarantee you it won't be what
- 4:09you want. So I hope you guys have a very
- 4:12blessed day and I will see you tomorrow and hopefully by then
- 4:16you'll have thought through some of this and have a better
- 4:18clearer conceptual answer. All right, my friends, I'll talk
- 4:22to you soon. Bye.
