- 1:00Speaker 1: how you host a show with us? Then we will
- 1:01Speaker 1: getting your business? Okay, all right, here we go. What
- 1:09Speaker 1: do you guys thoughts on LSU, Angel Reese and Jill Biden.
- 1:13Speaker 1: The Jill Biden controversy. You guys know that LSU won
- 1:16Speaker 1: the we didn't know that ship for people who don't
- 1:21Speaker 1: know because it's a podcast and some people be in
- 1:23Speaker 1: Lala land. Um, Jill Biden, the uh, the wife of
- 1:28Speaker 1: the president, the first lady. She invited both teams to
- 1:31Speaker 1: go to the White House, and then of course one team,
- 1:35Speaker 1: one team one and that never happens. You never invite both.
- 1:38Speaker 1: It was like one h two to eighty five. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:40Speaker 1: it was a really good game. I watched that game.
- 1:42Speaker 1: It was a good game. And that was my first
- 1:44Speaker 1: time ever watching a woman's basketball game. And for the record,
- 1:48Speaker 1: Caitlin Clark is a bad mother weather none time out.
- 1:51Speaker 1: He's bad. She's not a bad girl. I only watched
- 1:55Speaker 1: it for her. I shoot, she just shoot from the pardlt.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I don't know why they put the black verse the
- 2:00Speaker 1: white thing, but he's fired anyway. With Internet about that,
- 2:03Speaker 1: the Internet, I felt like the way it ended up
- 2:06Speaker 1: playing out the way it should have played out. Yeah, um,
- 2:09Speaker 1: you know LSU man shout out the LSU. Yeah yeah
- 2:13Speaker 1: they did. The ladies got down, um and Kaitlyn is
- 2:15Speaker 1: hard like she she should get down. And I think
- 2:18Speaker 1: that Caitlin actually calmed everything down. He did when when
- 2:22Speaker 1: she got an opportunity to um speak about it, Yeah,
- 2:25Speaker 1: speak about it. And man, I think she was real
- 2:27Speaker 1: professional sportsmanship, right, I think she did. Yeah. I don't
- 2:30Speaker 1: think she wanted to smoke though with what baby girl
- 2:33Speaker 1: facts facts the court, Yeah on the court by Kayla
- 2:37Speaker 1: got all the smoke. Listen. I don't think I don't
- 2:39Speaker 1: think that both teams should have been invited, you know. Fact,
- 2:42Speaker 1: I think LSU kind of looked at that as like
- 2:43Speaker 1: a slap in the face. And then and you know,
- 2:46Speaker 1: the only the thing that I hate most about the
- 2:48Speaker 1: Internet is the Internet and the media makes everything so racial.
- 2:52Speaker 1: It's like everything has to be black and white. It's like, hey,
- 2:57Speaker 1: I feel like that's never gonna stop. Keep in mind
- 3:01Speaker 1: because we saw it with Larry Bird and Magic Johnson UM,
- 3:06Speaker 1: and it's just I don't I haven't seen a female
- 3:09Speaker 1: rivalry like that in a long time. I can't even
- 3:12Speaker 1: remember one that was good for TV for me. For me,
- 3:16Speaker 1: that was the viral moment for female basketball, you know
- 3:20Speaker 1: what I mean? Like that, this is the moment I
- 3:21Speaker 1: think we all look back on and say, like this
- 3:23Speaker 1: was the turning for Remember what I'm saying, and I
- 3:26Speaker 1: feel like, well, it's it's about time that I want
- 3:29Speaker 1: to go on record to say I think it's about
- 3:30Speaker 1: time that the females start get pay Come on now. Yeah,
- 3:33Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. They got they gotta feel them,
- 3:35Speaker 1: they gotta feel them seats up. Though they feel they
- 3:37Speaker 1: feel well, I think they was the attention that it
- 3:39Speaker 1: was felt. Yeah, like they feel the seats up right.
- 3:43Speaker 1: But not only that, I feel like it's more than
- 3:45Speaker 1: enough ways for them to figure out how to, you know,
- 3:47Speaker 1: how to put put people in the seats. Um. I
- 3:50Speaker 1: think if they, you know, started to do more um
- 3:53Speaker 1: participation in advertising, you know what I'm saying, Um, you know,
- 3:58Speaker 1: commercializing it more, um, just bringing more light to it,
- 4:01Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like girls be balling. Yeah,
- 4:03Speaker 1: I think I think they need more media coverage. I
- 4:05Speaker 1: think the media to speak more about because this is
- 4:09Speaker 1: probably the most I've ever seen a woman's basketball game
- 4:12Speaker 1: being being covered in the number showed like I believe
- 4:15Speaker 1: the whole game. I did too. Yeah, I've never even
- 4:18Speaker 1: watched a woman's basketball game. I watched the whole game
- 4:21Speaker 1: like I'm watching watching the NBA Finals. I'm like, I was,
- 4:24Speaker 1: Oh my God, I was one time for fly J's
- 4:27Speaker 1: my little homie. Remember she was on she was on
- 4:30Speaker 1: the Rap Game, she was on the Rap JD. She
- 4:32Speaker 1: now plays for LG and she has a recording deal
- 4:36Speaker 1: with rock Nation. Wow, big shout out to her. Yeah yeah,
- 4:40Speaker 1: all right, all right, right, all right, um, how'd your kids?
- 4:42Speaker 1: How'd your wife? No? Okay. Marcus Houston says he met
- 4:46Speaker 1: his wife when she was seventeen, but did not pursue
- 4:49Speaker 1: a relationship until she was eighteen. He is twenty years
- 4:52Speaker 1: older than her. Thoughts, y'all didn't know that. I knew that,
- 4:57Speaker 1: but go ahead. He met her at seventeen and did
- 5:00Speaker 1: not pursue it that she was eighteen. He's twenty years old. Yeah,
- 5:03Speaker 1: he talked to or anything. He wait until she was legal. League,
- 5:07Speaker 1: come one, who is believing that you met a young
- 5:12Speaker 1: lady at seventeen and you said, Hey, I'm gonna wait
- 5:14Speaker 1: twelve months and talk it. Take you on a day.
- 5:17Speaker 1: I think this stuff, Lisa, stop resurfacing because this happened before,
- 5:23Speaker 1: because I remember when he married her and they would
- 5:25Speaker 1: talk about the age gap and how how young she
- 5:29Speaker 1: was and nothing happened. So like, why are we continuing?
- 5:33Speaker 1: Like why are we continuingly talking about it if we're
- 5:36Speaker 1: not gonna say or do anything, you know you want
- 5:38Speaker 1: to people, go ahead, go ahead, I said, you want
- 5:41Speaker 1: to know why people keep talking about it because r
- 5:43Speaker 1: Kelly and Jail and they was high. They look at
- 5:47Speaker 1: that time they were sweeping another rug under the rug
- 5:49Speaker 1: and then it came back out again and they for years.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Car Malone, My thing is, I wouldn't get would I
- 5:57Speaker 1: would want more attention on things. Does this matter? I don't.
- 6:01Speaker 1: I'm not upset that this stuff keeps rehashing. We needed
- 6:05Speaker 1: to just to protect these women out here. What do
- 6:07Speaker 1: you think about this, Sean? I mean, I think what
- 6:11Speaker 1: do y'all y'all feel like? I mean, but do you
- 6:15Speaker 1: feel like do you feel like the women are like
- 6:20Speaker 1: who Who's whose fault? Do you think it is just
- 6:23Speaker 1: like the whoever's older, it's their fault? Whoever is the
- 6:26Speaker 1: mature dog? She's seventeen when he had his eye on
- 6:31Speaker 1: her and thirty seven a thirty seven year old man
- 6:37Speaker 1: should not be a mutual friend too. So some people
- 6:40Speaker 1: and that's a little sketchy because some people we were
- 6:42Speaker 1: talking with Gail be and the uh they do? What
- 6:44Speaker 1: does what does she call it um grooming? Yeah, some
- 6:48Speaker 1: people do the grooming thing, so that's kind of raises
- 6:51Speaker 1: a brow too. She turns eighteen, he turns thirty eight.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Still a twenty year gap. Ain't no twenty eight year
- 6:58Speaker 1: olds or thirty two year olds or not see this
- 7:03Speaker 1: as a red flag. Well, I think the mutual friend
- 7:06Speaker 1: was was the probably one of them that was helping
- 7:08Speaker 1: doing the grooming. You know what I'm saying, like, like,
- 7:12Speaker 1: I don't know, I believe with people adults, you know,
- 7:14Speaker 1: the age thing, the age the age yub don't don't
- 7:17Speaker 1: think eighteen is not an adults But he said seventeen.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I mean he probably really met her at fifteen, nineteen twenty.
- 7:25Speaker 1: It's like you have so much more things going on
- 7:28Speaker 1: around that those times frame mentally. But well they married now, right,
- 7:33Speaker 1: all right, says man. Code wives and baby mamas are
- 7:37Speaker 1: off limits. What are your thoughts? And do you agree
- 7:40Speaker 1: like baby mamas is off limits amongst friends meaning you know,
- 7:44Speaker 1: my baby mom, you shouldn't be here. I think he
- 7:46Speaker 1: was saying it as like an industry thing, like people
- 7:50Speaker 1: you know like you Yeah, yeah, I mean I me personally,
- 7:58Speaker 1: I probably would take that same it that same route.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I mean, respectfully, I don't think that I would if
- 8:05Speaker 1: I know somebody, Uh, the baby Mama's probably a little
- 8:10Speaker 1: bit of off limits. Yeah, it was a little bit.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I mean, what if the opportunity presents itself. Is she single?
- 8:18Speaker 1: That is true? I don't know if if it's somebody
- 8:21Speaker 1: that I'm cool with, like that, I'm cool with. Yeah,
- 8:24Speaker 1: I definitely, I'm probably not gonna now. I think if
- 8:26Speaker 1: I think the baby mama is off limits, if you
- 8:29Speaker 1: if you know the kid, you know what I'm saying,
- 8:31Speaker 1: like like, if you ain't got no relationship with the kid,
- 8:35Speaker 1: then it's like I don't think the baby Oh lord
- 8:42Speaker 1: who Future does definitely does no bout. I mean, ain't
- 8:44Speaker 1: got no choice but to know each other. I don't
- 8:46Speaker 1: know they don't have no choice. But I'm saying, prior
- 8:49Speaker 1: to him dating his baby mama, did he know that
- 8:51Speaker 1: was Oh, I don't know. I don't think. I don't
- 8:54Speaker 1: think Future and Batau ran around the same. Yeah, yeah,
- 8:58Speaker 1: I don't think that was in the same But is
- 9:00Speaker 1: that not like he said, Like we were just saying,
- 9:02Speaker 1: it's like an industry standard, like bro code. I'm guessing
- 9:05Speaker 1: man ain't nobody ain't nobody baby mama off limits. I
- 9:08Speaker 1: don't think yes, because the dollar reason why I say
- 9:13Speaker 1: wives are off limits because people people saying the same.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I think, I think people will kill you over their
- 9:18Speaker 1: baby mama too. Yeah, but they why like Brome is
- 9:23Speaker 1: definitely yeah, wife is off well, ex wife too, because
- 9:26Speaker 1: I'm sure that's what he means is because it's like, yeah,
- 9:30Speaker 1: because they got my ex wife because if his wife,
- 9:32Speaker 1: you know what, I don't care who's to me? I
- 9:36Speaker 1: don't care. So they not respectfully to the mother the
- 9:39Speaker 1: mothers of my kids, right, respectfully, I'm not tripping. Yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 1: we don't want to get you in trouble personally Ferrari Yeah,
- 9:46Speaker 1: right to my exes. I'm not tripping on any of that.
- 9:49Speaker 1: So that's what I'm saying. No, X happier relation is
- 9:52Speaker 1: off women, your baby mama limits, your ex wife not
- 9:56Speaker 1: off limits to my circle. Now you and my grooms
- 9:58Speaker 1: man still to my friends. Yeah, but industry people aren't
- 10:03Speaker 1: friends because I'm let's stop, let's stop not friends. Yeah,
- 10:07Speaker 1: but Garrett was was wrote somebody record and y'all not friends.
- 10:11Speaker 1: And the man baby Mama tried to give you that
- 10:13Speaker 1: thing you're gonna hear is off limits to me because
- 10:17Speaker 1: that's my That's that's what I mean, because I would
- 10:20Speaker 1: definitely take a personal I would take a personal if
- 10:22Speaker 1: like my friend, like if fou out, r if if
- 10:26Speaker 1: if foul out was to hit my my baby one
- 10:30Speaker 1: be like wheezy, what's happening? Like But yeah, like I mean,
- 10:38Speaker 1: I think, yeah, oh my god, oh yeah, no, you
- 10:47Speaker 1: know that's it's no man dreams, it's you know what
- 10:51Speaker 1: gonna talk about? Okay, Yeah, because I was ahead, it's
- 10:56Speaker 1: like on the court, on the court and on the
- 10:58Speaker 1: field better than now, I'm taking his head off. I'm like,
- 11:04Speaker 1: he's not he can't fuck with me. Okay, but can
- 11:06Speaker 1: we go? Can we go there? Yeah? All right, So
- 11:09Speaker 1: shout out to you in the dream, you guys is
- 11:11Speaker 1: like the first unofficial versus the first viral. You guys
- 11:16Speaker 1: were the first viral moment in the pandemic ye, which
- 11:19Speaker 1: turned into versus and all this stuff like that. I
- 11:22Speaker 1: think the viral moment came from Sean being kind of
- 11:25Speaker 1: tipsy or drunk or whatever you want. I actually, first
- 11:31Speaker 1: of all, I don't do nothing to roll, but but
- 11:35Speaker 1: now you know, I had went to the dentist. I
- 11:36Speaker 1: was at the dentist that day and I had two
- 11:39Speaker 1: root canals. So I was actually when I when I
- 11:42Speaker 1: when I got the call from Swiss, I was with
- 11:45Speaker 1: my man Bobby, and I was out of it in
- 11:48Speaker 1: his truck, you know what I'm saying. So when I
- 11:50Speaker 1: got the call, it was like, Yo, I don't even
- 11:51Speaker 1: know if I'm gonna really be able to do this Swiss,
- 11:53Speaker 1: and Swiss like, yo, I need you right, So it
- 11:57Speaker 1: was it was it was like the same night he
- 11:59Speaker 1: called you when you got online. It was yeah, it
- 12:01Speaker 1: was like an hour ye, like an hour away. Was
- 12:04Speaker 1: this like the verses or was it just like something
- 12:08Speaker 1: like well, it was like what was so crazy? When
- 12:10Speaker 1: people don't really understand I was actually holding my I
- 12:13Speaker 1: was actually holding my phone the entire time, right, So
- 12:17Speaker 1: it wasn't like it was set up. It was, you know,
- 12:19Speaker 1: this was the versus versus was you know what I'm saying,
- 12:22Speaker 1: was like, hey man, we're gonna have it a little battle,
- 12:25Speaker 1: you know, a little conversation. And this was like he
- 12:27Speaker 1: had told me like a week before. Should I forgot
- 12:29Speaker 1: about it? You know what I mean? And I definitely
- 12:32Speaker 1: when he when he called me and reminded me that day,
- 12:35Speaker 1: I was like, I am I am lit, you know
- 12:38Speaker 1: what I mean? I was he was late, but who
- 12:41Speaker 1: wants up with me? No? I was, oh yeah, but
- 12:44Speaker 1: I still yeah, I mean why when it got real,
- 12:48Speaker 1: it got real serious. And you know what really turned
- 12:50Speaker 1: it up was Swizzy put me on the cables and
- 12:54Speaker 1: was like, yo, bro, you ain't feeling this, Like I
- 12:56Speaker 1: gotta show you this commercial this So he sent me
- 12:59Speaker 1: the commercial and you know, because we both did like
- 13:02Speaker 1: little like little commercial to for the for the event,
- 13:08Speaker 1: and oh my god, he was just talking about, man,
- 13:12Speaker 1: I'm the culture and you're not the culture, and I'm
- 13:14Speaker 1: just like, what gas? Like, who is gassing you to
- 13:18Speaker 1: think that you? What are you talking about? What are
- 13:21Speaker 1: you talking like? So it just it just went from
- 13:25Speaker 1: you know, in my natural I'm already on ten to
- 13:29Speaker 1: come to you know, being on the field, and I mean,
- 13:32Speaker 1: you know, it's kind of like men men men's dream
- 13:34Speaker 1: have always had this um competitive nature. Yeah, we've always
- 13:39Speaker 1: been competitives. You know. He always wanted to occupy that house.
- 13:44Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Can can you go down
- 13:48Speaker 1: the list of your number one because I know you
- 13:50Speaker 1: know them Ushers? Yeah you wrote ushers. Yeah, Yer's goodies,
- 13:55Speaker 1: Sera's goodiesh Beyonce's check up on it, Fergie's London Bridge.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Did you do give me body too? Yep, give me body?
- 14:04Speaker 1: He did upgrade body. Yep, you did upgrade, you upgrade
- 14:08Speaker 1: you diva. Uh that's the shy soldiers lose my breath.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I mean, you got Beyonce records, but he got records too.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Ain't got these, but he got the newest ones. He
- 14:19Speaker 1: ain't got the bombs like these. Man, listen. So so
- 14:22Speaker 1: let's let's go, let's go, let's go, let's put let's
- 14:24Speaker 1: put his against even the latest album alone grand So
- 14:29Speaker 1: you're gonna tell me, so let's just keep it gangster.
- 14:31Speaker 1: You're gonna tell me which one of them records on
- 14:32Speaker 1: they're harder than ring the alarm Renaissance. We're talking about
- 14:35Speaker 1: blog we s my shit that that's classic forever. Yeah,
- 14:38Speaker 1: we're talking about records that you just got to perform.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Put a ring on it, Okay, classic forever. Okay, I
- 14:44Speaker 1: put up one of mine up, I put check up
- 14:46Speaker 1: on against that. Nah. It was nine weeks number one,
- 14:50Speaker 1: So what you say, number one? What's happening? Dream? You
- 14:53Speaker 1: gonna to come on here? Dream? It was cool, he Dream,
- 15:00Speaker 1: Let me let me do it more real quick, Hey, Dream,
- 15:02Speaker 1: we gotta have you on The Baller Show. Sean Garrets
- 15:05Speaker 1: on here talking smack. I'm talking and I'm talking, So
- 15:08Speaker 1: we need you to come back on here. We might
- 15:10Speaker 1: need to do an episode both of y'all, but that
- 15:13Speaker 1: would be I got more I got more hot one
- 15:18Speaker 1: hundred than ones and him about far period. Hey, So
- 15:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna let him come on here into enough crying.
- 15:28Speaker 1: What we're doing? What is we doing? We'll be right
- 15:31Speaker 1: back with more of The Baller Alert Show. Sean Garrett,
- 15:36Speaker 1: Where are you from? I'm from Atlanta from um and
- 15:39Speaker 1: you grew you grew here? Know. I moved to Europe
- 15:42Speaker 1: when I was fired, okay, um? And how what made
- 15:45Speaker 1: you get into music? Like? Was music something that that
- 15:48Speaker 1: was already in you? Like? How did you? Because you
- 15:51Speaker 1: know it's hard to become a number one hit writer.
- 15:54Speaker 1: So you know I was an artist and saw my
- 15:55Speaker 1: first record deal when I was fourteen. Um, I came
- 15:58Speaker 1: back to the States with who where do you? Who'd
- 16:00Speaker 1: you signed with Aerial BMG so in Europe and I
- 16:05Speaker 1: actually came back to the States to sign a new
- 16:07Speaker 1: deal here in America, um My deal fell through. I
- 16:11Speaker 1: was signing with Warner Um Warner that I worked for,
- 16:14Speaker 1: yep um and so um and so then man, my
- 16:21Speaker 1: mom came. My mom got sick and I and I'm
- 16:25Speaker 1: losing my mom to cancer. And so I moved back
- 16:29Speaker 1: to Atlanta, and you know, I started shopping um my
- 16:35Speaker 1: demo for a new artist deal. Uh. And so people
- 16:38Speaker 1: were like, yo, you were by Sean Garrett. Yeah. People
- 16:42Speaker 1: were like, yo, you really read some great songs, like
- 16:44Speaker 1: do you mind or would you mind writing songs for
- 16:47Speaker 1: other people? And I was like, I don't really do that.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Who asked you that? Just generally people were hearing. Yeah,
- 16:55Speaker 1: And it was like a lot of the songs that
- 16:57Speaker 1: I was that I wrote for myself, they were all different.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I've always had this perspective of, like, none of my records.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I never really wanted none of my records to sound
- 17:05Speaker 1: the same. So I could do a body of work
- 17:09Speaker 1: they would all go together, but they would they would
- 17:12Speaker 1: definitely be different. Like, you know, like it made sense
- 17:16Speaker 1: for me to do a year right on an album
- 17:19Speaker 1: like Confessions, because my perspective would be, let me do
- 17:23Speaker 1: something on this album that's going to be different, that's
- 17:25Speaker 1: going to be a standout outside of what everyone else
- 17:29Speaker 1: is doing, right, And so I never really even thought
- 17:32Speaker 1: writing songs, writing and producing songs for other people with
- 17:34Speaker 1: something that I really wanted to do. I never even
- 17:37Speaker 1: something I never even thought that I wanted to do.
- 17:40Speaker 1: And I actually was like totally against it until I
- 17:44Speaker 1: lost my mom. And you know, it was really like
- 17:48Speaker 1: a sort of a wake up call of just like
- 17:51Speaker 1: realizing that, you know, life is short and she should
- 17:54Speaker 1: always say, like, you know, you should put all your
- 17:56Speaker 1: eggs in basket, in one basket. So I ended up
- 17:59Speaker 1: doing a wishing deal with Hitco. I mean lad publishing company.
- 18:06Speaker 1: UM original Hitco, the original one, Yeah, the original one. UM.
- 18:11Speaker 1: And right before then, I started getting a lot of
- 18:13Speaker 1: UM offers from different publishing companies. So I was like, damn,
- 18:16Speaker 1: they really want to pay me this much money to write?
- 18:19Speaker 1: Did you have a hit record for them to reach
- 18:22Speaker 1: out to you like that or No. It was just
- 18:24Speaker 1: like in our community, like in Atlanta, you know what
- 18:26Speaker 1: I mean. It's like, you know, you had you had Hitco,
- 18:29Speaker 1: you know, you had Sony, you got all these different
- 18:31Speaker 1: publishing companies. That's right in our area, you know what
- 18:33Speaker 1: I'm saying. So heard your stuff was circulating around. Yeah,
- 18:36Speaker 1: it was kind of circulating around, and there was different people.
- 18:39Speaker 1: And I actually ended up doing my deal with hitco
- 18:42Speaker 1: Um God Rest his Soul with Shakier Stewart and Billy Callaway.
- 18:46Speaker 1: So Billy Callaway was throwing these um Billy Callaway was
- 18:50Speaker 1: doing these bowling leagues, the Entertainment Bowling League, so the
- 18:54Speaker 1: Entertainment Bowling League. Everyone would be there, right, and so
- 18:58Speaker 1: it was just all of the play is that was
- 19:00Speaker 1: actually in Atlanta, Man, you had plugged in. Chris hicks
- 19:04Speaker 1: Um was actually the president of Warner Chapel at the time,
- 19:09Speaker 1: and then he also had Noontime. They also had Noontime,
- 19:12Speaker 1: so neon Time was a whole production company. And then
- 19:14Speaker 1: you got the dreams uh and Tricky they were all
- 19:18Speaker 1: at what's the name, what's the name of their uh
- 19:20Speaker 1: the click Uh damn, I forget the name of the click,
- 19:24Speaker 1: but that was a whole click um. So you had
- 19:27Speaker 1: like different section sectors of you know. B Cox was
- 19:29Speaker 1: signed too, if I'm not mistaken, he was signed the
- 19:31Speaker 1: Noontime John toy Austin was signed the Noontime UM. Jazz
- 19:35Speaker 1: Fabe was signed a Noontime UM so you know you
- 19:39Speaker 1: like that young click. I wasn't in the click just
- 19:43Speaker 1: like people just liked the songs, you know what I'm saying.
- 19:46Speaker 1: And so I ended up doing my deal a HITCO
- 19:48Speaker 1: and and the crazy part was like, as an artist,
- 19:50Speaker 1: I was an outsiders. As a publisher, that was my publisher, right.
- 19:55Speaker 1: So as a producer and a songwriter, I was working there, right,
- 19:59Speaker 1: I was signed there, and so um, my first opportunity
- 20:03Speaker 1: to get it get in the game was UM working
- 20:06Speaker 1: on Ushers. Yeah, I was working on was trying to
- 20:09Speaker 1: get on Confessions, UM, and that was one that you
- 20:12Speaker 1: were trying to get on there. So I was trying
- 20:14Speaker 1: to get on there because it wasn't um, it wasn't easy,
- 20:16Speaker 1: and it was like that you know, La had called me.
- 20:19Speaker 1: It was like what you're gonna do? Kid? Like, you know,
- 20:21Speaker 1: Confessions album is about to close. So I looked at
- 20:24Speaker 1: that opportunity as man, if I if I can get
- 20:30Speaker 1: on this album, this could be the start of something
- 20:33Speaker 1: and I can get I can get in and get
- 20:35Speaker 1: out of here, you know what I'm saying. Because my
- 20:36Speaker 1: whole perspective was like I wanted to get in and
- 20:39Speaker 1: get out. I really wanted to if I was gonna
- 20:41Speaker 1: do this, I really wanted to do it. I wanted
- 20:43Speaker 1: to do it at the highest level. So UM, I
- 20:45Speaker 1: ended up doing my UM doing my deal there UM
- 20:49Speaker 1: and so the quickest way I felt like I was
- 20:51Speaker 1: gonna be able to because at the time everybody was
- 20:55Speaker 1: real clickish, so I wasn't in the click to be
- 20:58Speaker 1: very honest, you know what I mean. J d Um
- 21:01Speaker 1: shout out to J d Um, Brian Michael Cox, a
- 21:06Speaker 1: lot of these guys, man, they were already implemented in
- 21:08Speaker 1: the systems right and so I'm an outsider UM at
- 21:12Speaker 1: the time. Also, Pouvier was signed to Hitco um My
- 21:17Speaker 1: man Zeke who now uh is president for um Epic.
- 21:23Speaker 1: He was a songwriter, he worked, I mean he was
- 21:25Speaker 1: signed to Hicco as well. Um Tab Tab was over
- 21:31Speaker 1: uh No, I think Tab was signed a Hitco too,
- 21:34Speaker 1: but he was a part of Tricky and Dreams crew.
- 21:37Speaker 1: So to be honest, man, it was like they all
- 21:40Speaker 1: thought all my records were completely They were like, who's
- 21:43Speaker 1: this new guy? Man? His song was a whack like,
- 21:46Speaker 1: so people thought your songs weren't good or they was
- 21:48Speaker 1: just hating on you. I don't know what it was. Man.
- 21:51Speaker 1: But you know, you know, I was an athlete. I'm
- 21:53Speaker 1: an athlete, Bob Bob. I played football, basketball, baseball, like
- 21:58Speaker 1: I played every sport. So I'm I've always been real competitive,
- 22:02Speaker 1: always been like really in shape. So wrong business. Yeah,
- 22:06Speaker 1: I was just with competing. It didn't matter, you know
- 22:08Speaker 1: what I'm saying. My question to you is, how did
- 22:11Speaker 1: Usher get Yeah? This was your first big one? Yeah?
- 22:14Speaker 1: This was my second song. Actually ever, what was your
- 22:17Speaker 1: first hit? My first? But USh, Yeah it was my
- 22:20Speaker 1: first hit. My first song out was latifs I Don't
- 22:24Speaker 1: Want to Hurt You. That was my ship, you know
- 22:26Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Um from my slow jam playlist. Yeah,
- 22:29Speaker 1: so like that's crazy so um And I actually really
- 22:34Speaker 1: loved that song, Like I thought that was I thought
- 22:36Speaker 1: that song was gonna go. Then he did a video
- 22:38Speaker 1: in the rain and yeah, yeah, I didn't very about
- 22:40Speaker 1: to do a video in the rain. I was like
- 22:42Speaker 1: the first but go ahead in the car? How did
- 22:46Speaker 1: they say? Yes? How did you get in the door? Well,
- 22:49Speaker 1: I mean I had. Um. I got a shout out
- 22:51Speaker 1: to Antonio Junior as well La Ree's son. Okay, Tonio,
- 22:54Speaker 1: that's my boy, my guy Junior. Um, So you know
- 22:59Speaker 1: working over there. Um, that was my perspective. I was like,
- 23:02Speaker 1: we ship, the only way I'm gonna be able to
- 23:04Speaker 1: get on this album is I'm gonna have to do
- 23:06Speaker 1: something really different and I'm gonna do something that's completely
- 23:08Speaker 1: far to the left, or they ain't gonna fuck with it,
- 23:11Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So I, um, I wanted
- 23:13Speaker 1: I wanted some of those little John beats. I was like,
- 23:15Speaker 1: you know what, I'm gonna do one of Michael Jackson song.
- 23:17Speaker 1: I'm I'm gonna create a Michael Jackson record on a
- 23:19Speaker 1: on a little John beat. And cast thought I was crazy,
- 23:23Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. It was just like, um,
- 23:26Speaker 1: they all they all thought that. I don't know if
- 23:28Speaker 1: they was hating or what, but they all thought that
- 23:31Speaker 1: was talking as if my records were just like it
- 23:36Speaker 1: was just it just wasn't good because they didn't sound
- 23:39Speaker 1: like theirs, and I thought that shit was amazing. Or
- 23:42Speaker 1: they might didn't want you to get through the door. Yeah,
- 23:44Speaker 1: if you do listen to The Confession's album, that's the
- 23:46Speaker 1: only song that sticks out, you know. And I had
- 23:48Speaker 1: like this style of like you know, I had like
- 23:50Speaker 1: a I have an unorthodox style of writing songs, you
- 23:53Speaker 1: know what I mean. It's like it's like I really
- 23:56Speaker 1: I really try to do things creatively to a point where, um,
- 24:00Speaker 1: it makes you it it's so uh it makes it
- 24:06Speaker 1: makes the consumer love it from not just a melodic perspective,
- 24:11Speaker 1: but a style, right, And so I always create songs
- 24:14Speaker 1: that have a style that that's sort of like that.
- 24:17Speaker 1: I knew it not only was a good song, but
- 24:20Speaker 1: it made the artists look cool. It made him feel cool.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Like if you think about like Chris Brown's running or
- 24:26Speaker 1: give Me That or Ain't No Way or wall to wall, Um,
- 24:31Speaker 1: those are all that's That's like, that's like Chris's signature.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Female Like that's still Chris today. You know what I'm saying,
- 24:38Speaker 1: He's still that he uh says the words and and
- 24:42Speaker 1: does the runs and stuff. I know what you're saying.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I'm saying, there were you there with Usher with Chris Brown. Yeah,
- 24:48Speaker 1: that's another thing that's a part of my gift is
- 24:51Speaker 1: like I'm really really good at producing vocals and creating
- 24:54Speaker 1: there with the artists. Yeah, like like we did like
- 24:57Speaker 1: we did be there in like two and a half
- 24:59Speaker 1: weeks the whole album. You know what I'm saying on
- 25:01Speaker 1: that album, um, ring the Alarm Upgrade, you M Get
- 25:07Speaker 1: Me Body green Light with Pharrell, Um, that was a
- 25:12Speaker 1: dope album. Um, how was it working with her? Like,
- 25:14Speaker 1: I know she likes to write a lot of her stuff.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Did did you write it in she assisted or changed
- 25:19Speaker 1: words in the booth? Or how does that work with
- 25:22Speaker 1: Beyonce at the time? M Beyonce's Beyonce's like, well, first
- 25:27Speaker 1: of all, everybody knows she's really really private, right, and
- 25:29Speaker 1: so she don't really like people like knowing her business.
- 25:34Speaker 1: But to be very honest, like, she's like one of
- 25:38Speaker 1: the one of my favorite people to work with because
- 25:41Speaker 1: she's extremely smart. Right. Um, I don't know if y'all
- 25:45Speaker 1: got a chance to listen to a knife wonder kind
- 25:47Speaker 1: of explained the story on like when I was doing
- 25:50Speaker 1: Recause like girl or is she the reason why the
- 25:52Speaker 1: first record I did for the Girls it was definitely
- 25:55Speaker 1: child is? Um? Is she the reason girl? T shirt?
- 25:58Speaker 1: I'm Through with Love? Why are you going? You know?
- 26:01Speaker 1: Soldier lose my breath? Bee was like at that time,
- 26:05Speaker 1: she was like she wanted the best right and so
- 26:08Speaker 1: she would just you know, she had these rooms set
- 26:11Speaker 1: up at Sony and she would give us all like
- 26:13Speaker 1: it was only like God rest his soul. But Lashan
- 26:16Speaker 1: Daniels and Rottney that was one team. It was me
- 26:20Speaker 1: and I was actually working with um My Man Swiss
- 26:23Speaker 1: Swiss Beach, and I was also working with Pharrell, and
- 26:27Speaker 1: then I was working with I think I brought in
- 26:31Speaker 1: a couple of other tracks as well. But a lot
- 26:34Speaker 1: of times Bee let me do, she let me do
- 26:38Speaker 1: when I got around her, I was trying to give
- 26:41Speaker 1: her the craziest shit possible. So I would come with
- 26:44Speaker 1: ideas shit before she wouldn't come to the studio a
- 26:48Speaker 1: lot of times, you know what I mean, Because I
- 26:50Speaker 1: was so excited to work with her, And that's why
- 26:52Speaker 1: I feel like, you know, pound for pound today, I'm
- 26:55Speaker 1: still one of the best songwriter producers for Beyonce period
- 26:58Speaker 1: because I feel like she and I really work well together,
- 27:04Speaker 1: Like in reference to like communicating, like she'll just say hey,
- 27:07Speaker 1: She'll say, Sean, I'm feeling this way today, or I
- 27:09Speaker 1: want to do this, or i want to do that.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I'll take that perspective and go make a record and
- 27:14Speaker 1: come take it back and then like you just leave
- 27:17Speaker 1: her with it and then she does her thing or
- 27:19Speaker 1: are you in there vocal coaching her or anything like that,
- 27:23Speaker 1: or does she just she takes the demos and then
- 27:25Speaker 1: the reference and then go do her thing. And that's time,
- 27:28Speaker 1: like I would do a demo, like anytimes I do records,
- 27:30Speaker 1: I'll do the demo, you know what I'm saying. And
- 27:32Speaker 1: so then she'll, oh, I might just do the chorus
- 27:35Speaker 1: and then finish the song up. You know what I'm saying.
- 27:38Speaker 1: She might cut the chorus and see how she feels
- 27:41Speaker 1: about it. And a lot of times it was just
- 27:43Speaker 1: we was it just every song was just going crazy,
- 27:46Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And it was like I
- 27:47Speaker 1: would make this, I would create the ship like right
- 27:49Speaker 1: there in front of her to the point where she
- 27:52Speaker 1: would love it, and she would cut you know what
- 27:54Speaker 1: I'm saying. And it's just it was. And she was
- 27:57Speaker 1: then going in another room. So she so she like
- 28:00Speaker 1: five rooms going so I think at the time also
- 28:03Speaker 1: there was um uh she was Solange was there, her cousin,
- 28:09Speaker 1: um Angie was there, or Bay. So these are production rooms,
- 28:18Speaker 1: studio studio studios. They'll runt out of studio and they're
- 28:21Speaker 1: having different separate um separate, separate studio rooms. They would
- 28:25Speaker 1: have like a group of people working in one room,
- 28:27Speaker 1: like maybe me a songwriter, producer, and and a tract producer.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Yeah it's the same. Yeah, it's the same thing. They've
- 28:34Speaker 1: been doing the same thing for years because most people
- 28:36Speaker 1: don't know that there's other writers as well. Yeah, there
- 28:39Speaker 1: will be other people in the in the rooms and
- 28:41Speaker 1: it'll be it. That's why it's so competitive, you know
- 28:43Speaker 1: what I'm saying, and say this song sucks, We're about
- 28:47Speaker 1: to go Sean Gear. Yeah, like a lot of times,
- 28:50Speaker 1: and that's where some of the that's where some of
- 28:52Speaker 1: the um I guess some of the um hate comes
- 28:55Speaker 1: from sometimes because at the end of the day, it's
- 28:57Speaker 1: not like I'm in there dissing or or hating on somebody.
- 29:01Speaker 1: It's just like, shit, they're gonna go with the best
- 29:02Speaker 1: song her record, you know what I mean? Now, Yeah,
- 29:06Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So it wasn't like like
- 29:08Speaker 1: like you know, like anybody that know me and shit,
- 29:10Speaker 1: like I'm just I'm a real nigga, Like I'm like,
- 29:12Speaker 1: I'm cool, Like I don't I don't really got no
- 29:14Speaker 1: problems with nobody, you know what I'm saying, unless there's
- 29:16Speaker 1: a problem, and then there's a problem. I have a
- 29:19Speaker 1: question recording and at the end of the day, before
- 29:21Speaker 1: we get off of the songwriter thing, it's about it's
- 29:24Speaker 1: about who gets the most on the record right on. Yeah,
- 29:27Speaker 1: it's like, well it's it's really about the songs, you
- 29:31Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. At the end of the day,
- 29:33Speaker 1: that's that's the part that's today. I feel like people
- 29:36Speaker 1: compromise and they end up having to pay for it later.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Like it's like, you need the best fucking song to
- 29:41Speaker 1: sell your product. But that's why she has so many
- 29:44Speaker 1: people around her so she can pick from the best.
- 29:47Speaker 1: That's hard too, you know what I'm saying, because it's
- 29:50Speaker 1: like you can have a lot of people in the room.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Like I never like to work. I never liked to
- 29:55Speaker 1: work like that because for me, it's like I'm more
- 30:00Speaker 1: so paying attention to what whomever it is that's driving.
- 30:05Speaker 1: If Beyonce's driving, I'm paying attention to what Beyonce. He's
- 30:07Speaker 1: talking about her process. Yeah, I ain't got shit to
- 30:09Speaker 1: do with I'm not focused on anything else because anything
- 30:12Speaker 1: else is gonna take me off of what I came
- 30:14Speaker 1: to do, you know what I'm saying, And I'm focused
- 30:16Speaker 1: on where she's where she's coming from and and and
- 30:20Speaker 1: being it's it's about you being smart enough to understand
- 30:23Speaker 1: how to take this ship to the next level. Understanding
- 30:25Speaker 1: the job. Yeah, she's the job and you're gonna work
- 30:29Speaker 1: according to her process. So it's like the way they're
- 30:31Speaker 1: doing it now, it's crazy, like they be having like
- 30:35Speaker 1: six seven eight people writing on a song. That shit
- 30:37Speaker 1: is crazy. And a lot of these songs that's coming
- 30:39Speaker 1: out of y'all can tell like the songs ain't really crazy.
- 30:42Speaker 1: I've been music is not as good as because yeah,
- 30:47Speaker 1: because it's all over the place. But to your point, though,
- 30:50Speaker 1: and I do miss how the old process were, where
- 30:53Speaker 1: it's like a Jimmy Jammt Terry Lewis spending time with
- 30:56Speaker 1: their talent, a Janet Jackson getting to know her and
- 30:59Speaker 1: then create something for her, like a whole sound for her. Yeah,
- 31:02Speaker 1: and um, you know, I feel like that's missing. How
- 31:05Speaker 1: important is it for the artist to have the right producer? Important?
- 31:11Speaker 1: Like it's important. You got to think about it like this, right,
- 31:14Speaker 1: Like I look at the consumer, like I really respect
- 31:18Speaker 1: the consumer. I like that's the end goal. It's almost
- 31:21Speaker 1: like like Nike selling sneakers, Nike packages, their shoes properly.
- 31:26Speaker 1: It's the box, it's the paper, it's the way the
- 31:29Speaker 1: shoe look, it's the color. It's everything, right, that's the
- 31:33Speaker 1: presentation is everything. The product is everything. So the fans
- 31:36Speaker 1: at the end of the day, UM, that to me,
- 31:39Speaker 1: I feel like that's the reason why you know, people
- 31:42Speaker 1: will pay for your ticket when your music is incredible,
- 31:44Speaker 1: Like the reason why Taylor Swift sells out the way
- 31:47Speaker 1: she does because her music, her fans already know she's
- 31:51Speaker 1: going to deliver an incredible project, right, And that consistency,
- 31:57Speaker 1: that's a problem with us because when you're in assistant,
- 32:00Speaker 1: what does consumer thing? Shit? Last time I went to
- 32:03Speaker 1: go buy this damn last time I went to the
- 32:04Speaker 1: grocery store over at the Walmart, the damn the meat
- 32:07Speaker 1: was spoiled. But why is that though? Why why does
- 32:11Speaker 1: why does um with the you know, with our side
- 32:14Speaker 1: of the music business. Um, I look at like the
- 32:17Speaker 1: country singers and stuff like that, they always have the
- 32:19Speaker 1: same producers, like Corners Bro. It's like, you know, it's
- 32:22Speaker 1: you know, it's that's it's us, you know what I mean?
- 32:24Speaker 1: Like we always think we can get shit cheaper. We
- 32:26Speaker 1: always think we can you know, what I mean. Uh,
- 32:29Speaker 1: you know, it's like Gibson was talking about, it's like
- 32:31Speaker 1: you think you can, like you really think the people
- 32:34Speaker 1: that really do this shit, they really are amazing at it.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Like I really do this music shit. You know what
- 32:39Speaker 1: I'm saying. And I'm very thorough about it. You know
- 32:41Speaker 1: what I'm saying. And I'm gonna do amazing songs no
- 32:44Speaker 1: matter what. I'm not just a songwriter. I'm a songwriter,
- 32:46Speaker 1: producer and singer and artist and creative. Who needs to
- 32:50Speaker 1: call you back? Y'all know who need to call me back?
- 32:55Speaker 1: You know? Nah? Man? Look, man, think about to call
- 33:03Speaker 1: you back then, y'all hear who need to call you back? Hey? Man,
- 33:10Speaker 1: y'all heard the new Glue? Man? You know what I mean? Like, Um, look,
- 33:14Speaker 1: I'm just I'm just excited still about doing amazing music. Man.
- 33:20Speaker 1: That new Usher song? Is that new Usher song is crazy?
- 33:23Speaker 1: Is it? It's called Glue? You heard it? Yeah? I
- 33:26Speaker 1: know what you're talking about now, But just for the audience, Yeah, okay,
- 33:29Speaker 1: you're good. Questions in the comments, boy, but that song
- 33:34Speaker 1: is great? Um, how was it working with Usher for
- 33:36Speaker 1: this for Glue? I mean it was really amazing actually,
- 33:40Speaker 1: because um, one Usher is like one of the hardest
- 33:43Speaker 1: working UM artists. He gonna work his tail off, He's
- 33:47Speaker 1: gonna he's gonna challenge yourself. I really wanted to challenge
- 33:50Speaker 1: him on his vocals. Yeah, because he he's back in
- 33:52Speaker 1: that false subtle range is giving me Maxwell or something. Man.
- 33:55Speaker 1: I thought. I thought, I was like, man, that sound
- 33:57Speaker 1: like Prince. Yeah, Like I'm like, like, no, shout out
- 34:00Speaker 1: to Prince Man, and like Prince is like unbelievable, Like
- 34:05Speaker 1: it definitely is the inspiration of that spirit of him
- 34:09Speaker 1: um DeAngelo Um. I just wanted to help Usher. Well
- 34:14Speaker 1: one I got I got annoyed by the idea of
- 34:17Speaker 1: UM and what this is one thing I don't really
- 34:19Speaker 1: like about our community. Man, It's like we're always putting
- 34:22Speaker 1: each other down or we're never giving um our people
- 34:25Speaker 1: man the respect that we deserve. Like you know in
- 34:30Speaker 1: the country, in the country sectors or the pop world,
- 34:34Speaker 1: you know, they always got the same respect for their
- 34:36Speaker 1: for their for their artists, and they show it on stage.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Artists think the producers and songwriters that help they bringing
- 34:43Speaker 1: them on stage. And for some reason it's like I
- 34:47Speaker 1: don't know why we feel like we can't thank somebody
- 34:51Speaker 1: like you can't thank the person that really bust they
- 34:54Speaker 1: asked to help you shine. I always say the real
- 34:56Speaker 1: the real stars of the songwriters and the producers. Yeah. Man,
- 34:59Speaker 1: it's like I I but but don't get me wrong.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Back to Usher. Usher works his ass off, Beyonce works
- 35:07Speaker 1: her ass off, like so's Chris Brown works his ass off.
- 35:10Speaker 1: You know he's wanted. I love him, man, I love
- 35:12Speaker 1: Chris too. Um. And it's like when it comes to
- 35:19Speaker 1: working with each other, it's we're all using our talent
- 35:23Speaker 1: to get to get to one place, and that is
- 35:25Speaker 1: the scoreboard, that is to win, right or number ones,
- 35:30Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And it's like it's a
- 35:32Speaker 1: combination of us helping each other, using our talents in
- 35:35Speaker 1: different ways. Right to be creative, because sometimes it's like
- 35:38Speaker 1: you know what, um, you know, uh, the ideas like
- 35:44Speaker 1: when an artist does one cycle with an album, the
- 35:48Speaker 1: next cycle is a completely different cycle, right, but you
- 35:51Speaker 1: also still want to keep that level of uh, that
- 35:55Speaker 1: level of greatness. You still want to keep that shit
- 35:59Speaker 1: up there, you know what I'm saying. Speaking of that,
- 36:02Speaker 1: and you go, like you just said, from how the
- 36:05Speaker 1: old album was to like the newer sound summer Walker Project. Um,
- 36:09Speaker 1: what was your thoughts on the performance of that and
- 36:11Speaker 1: the reception of the second album versus the first The
- 36:14Speaker 1: first single was a little bit different, and that was
- 36:17Speaker 1: on purpose, right because if now, if you look at
- 36:19Speaker 1: we were trying to do, you see what scissors at now? Yeah,
- 36:22Speaker 1: you see what's going on. Yeah, that's where I want
- 36:25Speaker 1: to get to. People don't understand, you know what I'm saying,
- 36:27Speaker 1: Like we were trying to get Summer in that space
- 36:30Speaker 1: of the world, right because she had already been you know,
- 36:35Speaker 1: you got to keep involving, you know, the urban side.
- 36:40Speaker 1: So we need we needed to cross, right, because if
- 36:43Speaker 1: you don't cross, then you stay in the space and
- 36:45Speaker 1: it becomes to it a lot of times you started
- 36:48Speaker 1: to climb, you hit that ceiling, hit right, and so
- 36:52Speaker 1: that was just expertise of trying to get her to
- 36:54Speaker 1: that level. But the problem is ready. Well I don't
- 37:00Speaker 1: know if fans are ready, but sometimes it's the way
- 37:02Speaker 1: you play it right. It's like like everything works in
- 37:06Speaker 1: a law, Like the law of it is the star
- 37:09Speaker 1: is the person that knows. That's why they a star.
- 37:11Speaker 1: The star is giving the world what the world what
- 37:15Speaker 1: the star wants to give the world. Right, and so
- 37:17Speaker 1: the world has to wait and deservingly and respectfully allowing
- 37:24Speaker 1: the artists to roll out their project. Right. And so
- 37:27Speaker 1: when you got if you put yourself in a position
- 37:30Speaker 1: where you're allowing people to not even let you roll
- 37:34Speaker 1: your shit out properly, then it makes you nervous. Give
- 37:40Speaker 1: an example. Yeah, some some artists don't stand behind their music, right,
- 37:46Speaker 1: they don't. If they they'll get nervous if they get
- 37:48Speaker 1: some sort of uh, if it seems like like a
- 37:51Speaker 1: bad comment, if it seems like people get bad comments
- 37:53Speaker 1: and stuff like that. You got to keep in mind,
- 37:56Speaker 1: this whole comment thing, this whole idea of likes and dislike,
- 38:00Speaker 1: has just came about in the last five years, right,
- 38:03Speaker 1: So now we have allowed ourselves to lose our strength
- 38:09Speaker 1: and being confident in our decisions of what we're putting
- 38:14Speaker 1: out there, right, And so now it's causing it's causing
- 38:18Speaker 1: artists to not necessarily have the strength that they have before,
- 38:21Speaker 1: because it's like they're hesitating. You're hesitating, you're worried about
- 38:26Speaker 1: somebody you know, commenting on some shit that ain't got
- 38:29Speaker 1: shit to do it really what you're doing, right, And
- 38:32Speaker 1: so the idea is just and nothing's perfect, man, nothing's easy. Um,
- 38:37Speaker 1: it ain't always gonna be perfect, but you gotta, you know,
- 38:40Speaker 1: you gotta. That's the whole point of us having each other,
- 38:43Speaker 1: man and trying to trying to push forward, trying to
- 38:45Speaker 1: um elevate UM. And I love Summer and I had
- 38:49Speaker 1: an amazing time working with her, and she was in
- 38:51Speaker 1: and to be very honest, man, but people don't realize
- 38:53Speaker 1: that she was pregnant the entire damnity, the entire time
- 38:56Speaker 1: of recording her album, all the way up until the
- 38:59Speaker 1: days she had her child. Oh wow, you know what
- 39:01Speaker 1: I'm saying. So shout out to shout out to Summer.
- 39:04Speaker 1: It was a dope album too. I really like that album.
- 39:08Speaker 1: And you know in shouts the Summer man like Summers.
- 39:12Speaker 1: I'm just I'm just uh I really, I really enjoyed
- 39:16Speaker 1: working with her, Like, well, you be on the next
- 39:18Speaker 1: project because I know she's dropping an EP soon. Well
- 39:20Speaker 1: this EP she do this EP she's putting out. That's
- 39:22Speaker 1: her thing, like her relationship she got with her labels.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Like when it comes to her albums, like everybody works
- 39:29Speaker 1: on that, but but that's when it's her project, you know,
- 39:32Speaker 1: her um, when it's her ep that's that summer thing,
- 39:36Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So you don't have any
- 39:37Speaker 1: records on that. Nah. So she so she's writing on
- 39:40Speaker 1: that and yeah, she summer got a pin like she
- 39:43Speaker 1: she writes on all the shit I'm saying, But this
- 39:46Speaker 1: particular thing, it's almost like her brain child, you know what.
- 39:49Speaker 1: I'm just like personal for her. Yeah, it's a real
- 39:51Speaker 1: personal So you know, respectfully, man, I think it's also
- 39:54Speaker 1: important to let people get their shit out too. Yeah,
- 39:58Speaker 1: and then when it's when it's time to get them
- 40:00Speaker 1: his they call you. Yeah. I mean I have a
- 40:03Speaker 1: thanks bro, I have a niche, and my niche is
- 40:06Speaker 1: just trying to do number one records man, like you know,
- 40:09Speaker 1: and sometimes it's not, uh, my perspective is not necessarily
- 40:17Speaker 1: Sometimes a hit record is not the most emotional record. Yeah,
- 40:23Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying it. You know, some records
- 40:26Speaker 1: are to build base, you understand, or stretch your your
- 40:31Speaker 1: market out. Like yeah, I don't. Yeah, you know what
- 40:33Speaker 1: I'm saying. It's like you know, and and and and
- 40:35Speaker 1: everybody doesn't really understand that, you know what I'm saying.
- 40:38Speaker 1: To the point, if you know, so, I can't beat
- 40:40Speaker 1: all things to everybody. And that's why I have to understand.
- 40:43Speaker 1: It's like, Okay, if an artist is like I've given
- 40:47Speaker 1: so much of myself to the world. I've given myself
- 40:51Speaker 1: to the industry. I've given myself to all these artists,
- 40:54Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. What about yourself? Though? Uh?
- 40:57Speaker 1: You know, have you reached the heights of success as
- 40:59Speaker 1: an art is that you want? Or have you done
- 41:03Speaker 1: that yet? Nah? I think I think that's the beautiful
- 41:06Speaker 1: thing about life, right. It's like, um, like I'm working
- 41:10Speaker 1: on my album now and it's like, you know, I'm
- 41:13Speaker 1: gonna tour like internationally and stuff like that. That's a
- 41:16Speaker 1: good thing about like working on your own shit. It's
- 41:19Speaker 1: like you can go and you can tour and you
- 41:22Speaker 1: can do shows, you know what I'm saying, And you can. Um,
- 41:26Speaker 1: being an artist is completely different than being a hit maker,
- 41:30Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And I can't lie sometimes. Um,
- 41:33Speaker 1: I enjoy it so much. I enjoy giving of myself.
- 41:37Speaker 1: I really do. Like some people don't some people really
- 41:40Speaker 1: have a person? Is that hard though? Like when you
- 41:41Speaker 1: got when you got a record that you're like, man,
- 41:43Speaker 1: this is a hit record, and then you got us
- 41:47Speaker 1: or somebody like, hey, man, come on, let me get
- 41:49Speaker 1: that record. Yeah, I mean for me, man, Nah, you've
- 41:54Speaker 1: never done that before, Like I want to save it. Yeah,
- 41:57Speaker 1: I've I've known that record at get this one away.
- 42:01Speaker 1: This is mine. You know what's crazy, Like Mario's breakup
- 42:04Speaker 1: was like that. My breakup was my record was huh yeah, yeah,
- 42:11Speaker 1: so that wasn't your record, now that was my It
- 42:13Speaker 1: was my record, but then I ended up because you're
- 42:16Speaker 1: on the hook, but album, I'm on the whole record. Yeah,
- 42:20Speaker 1: so I thought it was your record. But so what
- 42:21Speaker 1: happened was at the time Mario had Aum Mario's manager. Um,
- 42:29Speaker 1: like Mario was in a place man where he really
- 42:31Speaker 1: needed to hit something, and so it was like, you know,
- 42:35Speaker 1: his manager was like, man, Sean, whatever, what do I
- 42:37Speaker 1: gotta do to get I said, dam, I had already
- 42:39Speaker 1: told you, bro, like I ain't played the ship for
- 42:41Speaker 1: you for somebody else. Um, but anyway, um, you know
- 42:46Speaker 1: again man, that's just me giving them myself. I was like,
- 42:49Speaker 1: you know, I'll share this record with you. You know
- 42:51Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Um, that's dope, you know what I'm saying.
- 42:53Speaker 1: So and that's the part sometimes that you know artists forget.
- 42:58Speaker 1: It's like, man, I I did this for my heart. Yeah,
- 43:01Speaker 1: I didn't have to do that. You know what I'm saying,
- 43:03Speaker 1: Like I didn't have to. I have to share this
- 43:05Speaker 1: with you, bro, like I purposely said, Yo, I'm gonna
- 43:08Speaker 1: share this with you. I put my own money. I
- 43:10Speaker 1: spent my own money at radio, you know what I'm
- 43:12Speaker 1: saying to get it going. I remember it was on
- 43:15Speaker 1: radio everyone. Yeah, it was on radio crazy. The pds
- 43:19Speaker 1: was like a couple of ps, like I don't know
- 43:21Speaker 1: about this one, and I knew it was I knew
- 43:24Speaker 1: it was crazy because I knew it was different. Speaking
- 43:28Speaker 1: of smash record, it definitely blew up at the verses.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Did you see the verses? I know you did. Did
- 43:33Speaker 1: I see the Marian versus Mario? I love a Marian,
- 43:37Speaker 1: but I knew Mario can eat with them vocals, but
- 43:40Speaker 1: I didn't think honestly, I thought like with O versus. Yeah,
- 43:45Speaker 1: a lot of people was on Mario side because when
- 43:48Speaker 1: I seen the verses, I said, man O, Mario got
- 43:49Speaker 1: the records. He about the smoke Mario. And then when
- 43:52Speaker 1: I watched it, I was like, I love a Marian,
- 43:54Speaker 1: but I'm telling that Mario and you know what the
- 43:57Speaker 1: great single about Mario Yo. It was funny because it
- 44:01Speaker 1: was almost like I saw Mario setting him up, you
- 44:04Speaker 1: know what I mean, he was sting at the end
- 44:07Speaker 1: of everyone. He wouldn't go acapella and just sing him
- 44:10Speaker 1: under the table, you know what. He went back to
- 44:12Speaker 1: his you know, the crazy shit. Mario went back to
- 44:15Speaker 1: his um. He went back to his first album and
- 44:19Speaker 1: um uh I love you. I would never yeah, like
- 44:33Speaker 1: he got some songs or that, or he got U
- 44:37Speaker 1: or he got uh he got braid my hair or
- 44:40Speaker 1: I love that song. He has some but he killed him.
- 44:43Speaker 1: He killed him with the vocals though. That's why I
- 44:45Speaker 1: was like killed. I was like, but he was on
- 44:47Speaker 1: his b more ship too because when he got the
- 44:49Speaker 1: talking shit, Yeah, I was like, oh he had all
- 44:54Speaker 1: the licenses. We didn't. I just felt like we didn't
- 44:56Speaker 1: expect that. I think a lot of I expected that
- 44:59Speaker 1: from am Arion. I have to ask you a question.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Though we've been talking, we've been talking about everything, guys,
- 45:05Speaker 1: I Tavia BT asked you all these questions, you know,
- 45:08Speaker 1: I want to ask you. We'll be right back with
- 45:11Speaker 1: more of the baller alert y'all. Where the hell is
- 45:16Speaker 1: the money at Let me explain where you're writing records
- 45:21Speaker 1: for people? How do you know or how do you
- 45:24Speaker 1: bank on getting paid? Where do you get paid? How
- 45:28Speaker 1: do you get paid? Because now you know, I'm you know,
- 45:31Speaker 1: your normal person. Thing you didn't did usher? Yeah, you're
- 45:34Speaker 1: a millionaire overnight. Yes. No, I'm gonna say this because
- 45:37Speaker 1: it gets political, right, so I'm gonna have to be
- 45:40Speaker 1: all shit, No, but I'm not gonna be political. But
- 45:43Speaker 1: but the reason why I said it like that is
- 45:44Speaker 1: because I'm on this platform that's the music business, and
- 45:49Speaker 1: it's so many different ways. It's almost like trying to
- 45:51Speaker 1: explain to somebody how this building. Uh so, dumb it down.
- 45:56Speaker 1: If you got a number one record, what does what
- 45:59Speaker 1: does the money look like? All of these different people
- 46:01Speaker 1: make money from the source, which is the song, right,
- 46:07Speaker 1: and it becomes a situation of how that song is
- 46:11Speaker 1: going to be divvied up in reference to how it
- 46:15Speaker 1: makes money one, how it busts how do how do
- 46:20Speaker 1: you bust the money down? From one song, two songs,
- 46:24Speaker 1: three songs, four songs, an album, a package? Right, And
- 46:28Speaker 1: so those those different um, those different components really matter.
- 46:35Speaker 1: So when people try to tell you to break the
- 46:39Speaker 1: ship down or to hurry up and tell you. There's
- 46:41Speaker 1: no hurry up way of telling you that, because because
- 46:44Speaker 1: you'll come back later and be pissed that you miss something.
- 46:48Speaker 1: And that's what's wrong. That's the tough part about our
- 46:51Speaker 1: generation right now. It's like our generation don't communicate, We
- 46:54Speaker 1: don't like to talk. And that's the worst thing you
- 46:57Speaker 1: can do because when you you get these were talking
- 47:00Speaker 1: about Manny talking too much. Yeah, because I know a
- 47:03Speaker 1: lot of shit. You know what I'm saying, and I
- 47:06Speaker 1: know what to do, and I know what not to do,
- 47:07Speaker 1: so I know what to ask for and I know
- 47:10Speaker 1: what not to ask for. So when I come into
- 47:12Speaker 1: a situation like number one, I'm a producer. I am
- 47:17Speaker 1: a producer first period. So you produced to be No. See,
- 47:22Speaker 1: that's the misunderstanding producing producer does not make all the time.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Producer puts the fu song together, create the song like
- 47:31Speaker 1: that's so instantly. I'm already if I write the song,
- 47:35Speaker 1: I've already owned fit center to copyright. That's what did
- 47:37Speaker 1: he said? If I talk on a song is mine,
- 47:39Speaker 1: I'll produced it. Yeah, I don't know, well I'm saying
- 47:43Speaker 1: if I'm talking a song it's mine to politics, you
- 47:47Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. So I see what's what's green?
- 47:50Speaker 1: Or one person is read to another, you know what
- 47:52Speaker 1: I'm saying. Depending on your strength, your status, and your
- 47:56Speaker 1: ability to hold your own, you know what I'm saying.
- 47:58Speaker 1: So if I I was never I was never able
- 48:02Speaker 1: to get like tossed around like that because I actually
- 48:05Speaker 1: did the songs. You know what I'm saying, Like, you're
- 48:08Speaker 1: not nobody, e't inna come and handle me like that
- 48:10Speaker 1: like I did, Loving you no more for Diddy, loving you,
- 48:14Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Um, and I love didd
- 48:17Speaker 1: He shout out to Diddy. Um. But everybody got their own,
- 48:21Speaker 1: like the way Diddy came in the game it as
- 48:23Speaker 1: a producer, but he produces the way he produces because
- 48:27Speaker 1: he had the leverage to produce the way he produces.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Just to give a little more context and to break
- 48:35Speaker 1: it down in black and white for our audience, for
- 48:39Speaker 1: you know, the song is one hundred percent, fifty percent
- 48:43Speaker 1: goes to the songwriter, correct, and then fifty goes to
- 48:46Speaker 1: the producer. Right, But here's a yeah, and then they
- 48:50Speaker 1: did that up on their ends. If you got well,
- 48:52Speaker 1: sometimes people breaking sometimes people yeah, Well, sometimes that's kind
- 48:56Speaker 1: of the same thing. Fifth percent as the writer side.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Other fifty is the track side or the music side.
- 49:03Speaker 1: The music side. Yeah, but to add to that, a
- 49:06Speaker 1: person might come and do some drums, and then another person.
- 49:09Speaker 1: You might have another person that come and play keys,
- 49:12Speaker 1: and then you might have another person that comes and
- 49:14Speaker 1: and uh programs uh rhythm right, an arranger, you know
- 49:24Speaker 1: what I mean, Like I arrange, our produce, I write.
- 49:28Speaker 1: So it's different ways that it's broken down. Sometimes like
- 49:31Speaker 1: in uh uh in the country music they um they
- 49:37Speaker 1: break it down. On the pop side, they just break
- 49:39Speaker 1: it down a third third, you know what I'm saying, Like,
- 49:42Speaker 1: we don't do it that way. We do it a
- 49:43Speaker 1: little different, right, and sometimes it hurts the person who's
- 49:46Speaker 1: actually doing most of the work, you know what I'm saying.
- 49:49Speaker 1: So it depends. That's it depends like on who you're
- 49:53Speaker 1: working with and how you want to work with them, right,
- 49:55Speaker 1: And so if you don't know those different things, a
- 49:58Speaker 1: lot of times what was happening is that people would
- 50:00Speaker 1: come in and they would be working and they don't
- 50:03Speaker 1: talk discuss no business. And that's how you come in.
- 50:05Speaker 1: That's how you have all of these split disputes, and
- 50:08Speaker 1: so that's how people get sued for a record when
- 50:10Speaker 1: someone says, you know, this person, what does that mean?
- 50:12Speaker 1: When people you see all the time, when people say,
- 50:14Speaker 1: well this person stole my record or you know they
- 50:18Speaker 1: stole my beat, how does that happen? I give you
- 50:21Speaker 1: a prime example. Right, So, so I got I'm not
- 50:26Speaker 1: gonna mention on names, but this is some This is
- 50:30Speaker 1: the first my first lesson I learned in the music
- 50:32Speaker 1: business that was that really pissed me off, and I
- 50:35Speaker 1: ended up probably losing I don't know. That person ended
- 50:39Speaker 1: up making over time from Yeah, probably like five million dollars. Right,
- 50:45Speaker 1: So I had somebody to engineer my session, right, and
- 50:50Speaker 1: that person was a songwriter. But that person didn't write
- 50:53Speaker 1: a fucking lick on this song on Yeah. But because
- 50:57Speaker 1: that person was a songwriter, and at the time, the
- 51:01Speaker 1: guys that the company wanted everyone to participate from the
- 51:06Speaker 1: company because it made the company look bigger, they ended
- 51:09Speaker 1: up convincing me because I was new, to give this
- 51:12Speaker 1: person four percent of Yeah, what I'm saying. And I
- 51:17Speaker 1: was fucking pissed later because I was like, y'all just
- 51:23Speaker 1: sucked me over. When you learn you know what I'm saying,
- 51:27Speaker 1: you learn, and so that was all I needed to
- 51:29Speaker 1: ever learn, and that was the reason why. So sometimes
- 51:33Speaker 1: people tend to think like, oh, you know, well, this
- 51:35Speaker 1: person is like um, like I've always had. Sometimes I
- 51:41Speaker 1: get this stigma that I don't know why I got
- 51:43Speaker 1: this stigma. It was like, like I was telling y'all before,
- 51:45Speaker 1: it was like, I don't do not to go do
- 51:47Speaker 1: my job. You know what I'm saying. Sometimes people hate
- 51:50Speaker 1: on you, but it's like, I don't know why y'all
- 51:51Speaker 1: hating this shit because I don't I've never had a
- 51:53Speaker 1: confrontation with somebody or or wouldn't stole something from someone
- 51:56Speaker 1: that took some I've worked by my damn self, or
- 51:59Speaker 1: I collaborate with a track I might work with Ninth One,
- 52:02Speaker 1: that I may work with Swiss Beasts, i might work
- 52:04Speaker 1: with Champ. I've worked with so many different people to
- 52:06Speaker 1: help make so many different people money, you know what
- 52:08Speaker 1: I'm saying. In this business, that's why I get a
- 52:10Speaker 1: lot of love, But at the same time, you're gonna
- 52:12Speaker 1: get hate because success just breathes that right. But to
- 52:16Speaker 1: simplify things, the reason why I've never been in no
- 52:20Speaker 1: issues like that because I always do the ship by myself. Yeah.
- 52:23Speaker 1: I was just about to say that that's probably why
- 52:25Speaker 1: you don't like a bunch of people in the studio
- 52:26Speaker 1: because when I try to collaborate, that's exactly right, bro.
- 52:29Speaker 1: So it's like when you try to collaborate with people,
- 52:31Speaker 1: the ship gets messy and messy. So it's a hit
- 52:35Speaker 1: kid Glow really happened though he knew about himself. Yeah, yeah,
- 52:42Speaker 1: he do everything by myself. The money is on a
- 52:46Speaker 1: number one record, a hot one hundred number one record.
- 52:49Speaker 1: That's why when you ever you hear me say I
- 52:51Speaker 1: got eighteen hot one hundred number ones. Anybody that knows
- 52:56Speaker 1: what the hot one hundred chart at the chart? I
- 52:59Speaker 1: want to be on what do you understand what that is?
- 53:02Speaker 1: But if you don't know, you don't know. And a
- 53:05Speaker 1: lot of these kids is doing music. A lot of
- 53:07Speaker 1: these people that's managing people. It's managers that don't understand
- 53:10Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So on your new podcast that you
- 53:13Speaker 1: have coming soon, but you be discussing more in depth
- 53:15Speaker 1: of what you mean. Yeah, I will, I will. That's
- 53:19Speaker 1: why you over here being political. Do you have a
- 53:21Speaker 1: name for the podcast yet? Yeah? Um no, but I
- 53:26Speaker 1: will I will be I will, I will be UM.
- 53:29Speaker 1: I will be letting you guys know first what it is. Um, Yes,
- 53:35Speaker 1: for sure, And it's gonna be crazy. It's really gonna
- 53:37Speaker 1: be crazy. I really love y'all show too, to be honest,
- 53:40Speaker 1: and I'm not being political. I want to I want
- 53:42Speaker 1: to be clear. I'm not being political. I'm just being
- 53:47Speaker 1: correct and it and I said it is political, you
- 53:52Speaker 1: know what I'm saying that the business is political. And
- 53:55Speaker 1: you get yourself and shit that you know, you know
- 54:00Speaker 1: how a lot of shit go viral when it shouldn't
- 54:02Speaker 1: go viral. It's like, damn, I was just walking down
- 54:05Speaker 1: the street and some shit go viral. Well, today, you
- 54:08Speaker 1: just have to be extra clear about the context and
- 54:12Speaker 1: how you're speaking like that because it's so many different
- 54:15Speaker 1: elements to the question. Right, It's not a it's not
- 54:20Speaker 1: a one answer. It's not a one answer to that
- 54:24Speaker 1: question because it's a loaded ass question, right, And I
- 54:29Speaker 1: would love to be as informative as I can possibly be,
- 54:32Speaker 1: But part of it has the change has to be
- 54:37Speaker 1: from this new generation of people who are managing people
- 54:43Speaker 1: who are artists, who are producers, who are songwriters. That's
- 54:47Speaker 1: why I'm gonna start doing these seminars. I'm definitely gonna
- 54:49Speaker 1: do some informative seminars and to to help being with you. Yeah,
- 54:56Speaker 1: and also man like, yeah, we're gonna get down, like
- 54:58Speaker 1: you don't want to get a to that. Um, So
- 55:01Speaker 1: how are you single? Have you do you have children? Yeah?
- 55:05Speaker 1: I mean I don't like to, Yeph, but I don't
- 55:07Speaker 1: really like to talk about that. I like to I like,
- 55:10Speaker 1: I got two boys. I really don't. I try to
- 55:13Speaker 1: keep my personal life um as private as I can,
- 55:18Speaker 1: only because to protect my family, you know what I mean,
- 55:21Speaker 1: to protect my to protect my kids, you know what
- 55:24Speaker 1: I'm saying, And to protect whoever I'm in a relationship with,
- 55:27Speaker 1: you know what I mean. But now important is that
- 55:29Speaker 1: for artists to protect their their family nowadays, especially with
- 55:32Speaker 1: social media being so crazy, the way you enter something
- 55:35Speaker 1: is the way you're gonna end up exciting, you know
- 55:38Speaker 1: what I'm saying. And so, to be very honest, like
- 55:45Speaker 1: the music business, if that's how you're making your money, um,
- 55:49Speaker 1: you gotta learn how to understand the details of it
- 55:53Speaker 1: because the details has a lot also to do with
- 55:55Speaker 1: like shit, to be very honest, it has a lot
- 56:00Speaker 1: to do with how you how you get dealt with agree.
- 56:06Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Like, people like leverages everything right,
- 56:10Speaker 1: and a lot of times the leverage is what causes
- 56:13Speaker 1: you to take a loss on a deal, right. So
- 56:19Speaker 1: so sometimes you know, it's like people don't like to
- 56:22Speaker 1: communicating ship. So they might be like, man, this shit
- 56:25Speaker 1: take it too long, or or damn, why is it
- 56:26Speaker 1: taking so long to get the song done? Or why
- 56:28Speaker 1: is it taking so long to have this conversation. It's like,
- 56:33Speaker 1: because in the end, you're gonna want to know all
- 56:35Speaker 1: the answers to this shit, and you're gonna want those answers.
- 56:39Speaker 1: Those answers that you're expecting to get, is the purpose
- 56:43Speaker 1: of the conversation and the dialogue at the beginning, because
- 56:46Speaker 1: if you already know how this process works, you already
- 56:49Speaker 1: know that X plus O minus x equals whatever. You
- 56:56Speaker 1: already know that. So if you're not taking your time
- 56:59Speaker 1: to understand that from the beginning, you're gonna be pissed off.
- 57:02Speaker 1: In the end, you're gonna be pissed and you're gonna
- 57:04Speaker 1: blame someone. And that's what we do in our community.
- 57:06Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, We're not taking the time
- 57:08Speaker 1: to understand what this business is about, and it ain't trickery.
- 57:13Speaker 1: It ain't no bullshit. If you if you know what
- 57:15Speaker 1: you're doing, you know what I'm saying, and if you
- 57:17Speaker 1: approach it from the right perspective, it ain't gonna be perfect.
- 57:20Speaker 1: And you know, of course sometimes you're gonna you know,
- 57:22Speaker 1: you are gonna get yourself in some shit. Um, But
- 57:26Speaker 1: I can honestly say it comes with a lot. You
- 57:29Speaker 1: know what I'm saying that it's come with a lot
- 57:31Speaker 1: when it comes to hit songs. That's my goal. My
- 57:35Speaker 1: goal is to make hit records and it makes everybody money. Right,
- 57:38Speaker 1: you're very pr train. That's that's what I realized. The
- 57:44Speaker 1: relationship question, right, you get a grade job. You did it, okay,
- 57:48Speaker 1: But I was gonna ask, what, wait, with all the
- 57:54Speaker 1: issues that, like you said, the music industry has and
- 57:57Speaker 1: people not paying attention, would you want your kids to
- 57:59Speaker 1: be a part of it? I ain't got no choice.
- 58:02Speaker 1: There are and it's it's like you know the all
- 58:06Speaker 1: you can, Yeah, I mean the hardest part is like
- 58:11Speaker 1: like fighting with them, fighting with them to like my
- 58:16Speaker 1: oldest like fighting with him to um, because you love
- 58:21Speaker 1: him so much you want him to know the pitfalls first, like,
- 58:26Speaker 1: you know, you might feel like I got all this
- 58:28Speaker 1: shit happened to dad. I'm I'm lit like here, I'm
- 58:31Speaker 1: my my numbers, is this my stylish this? I got
- 58:34Speaker 1: this shit figured out. I got this figured out. Yeah,
- 58:36Speaker 1: you got that figured out. But you do not understand
- 58:38Speaker 1: how to move yet. And the way you move has
- 58:41Speaker 1: everything to do with where you end up being. And
- 58:45Speaker 1: it's gonna be harder for him because of who his
- 58:47Speaker 1: dad is. And that's something that I feel like a
- 58:49Speaker 1: lot of kids as parents are in the industry, they
- 58:51Speaker 1: don't understand because they're like, Yo, my dad is this
- 58:53Speaker 1: person and they're not helping me, and it's like, WHOA,
- 58:56Speaker 1: I think your dad is probably trying to protect you
- 58:58Speaker 1: because it's gonna be really hard, hard because of who
- 59:01Speaker 1: your parents are. And if you get to a certain
- 59:03Speaker 1: level of success as a kid, they're gonna say, well,
- 59:04Speaker 1: they only like that because it's dada. Sean geartt Well,
- 59:07Speaker 1: let me say this right, So when you bring this
- 59:08Speaker 1: on your kids, it comes on them like four or five,
- 59:12Speaker 1: four or five, like four or five heavy ass waves
- 59:17Speaker 1: more than it comes on you. Because I was just myself.
- 59:21Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. No one knew who I was.
- 59:23Speaker 1: But for your kids, that shit makes it because the
- 59:26Speaker 1: first generation was the first generation of the it's the same.
- 59:28Speaker 1: And that's such a good point. When you first generation,
- 59:32Speaker 1: you're really taking all the bullets, so you can help
- 59:36Speaker 1: them not take the bullets because you're hoping that they
- 59:39Speaker 1: can take the bullets. But they ain't gonna be able
- 59:41Speaker 1: to take the bullets. They can't take the bullets that
- 59:43Speaker 1: we took, right because you know, it's almost like adrenaline,
- 59:46Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Like, you know, I ended
- 59:49Speaker 1: up making it out of that situation because I had
- 59:51Speaker 1: the adrenal just because of mine. Why can't they Is
- 59:53Speaker 1: it because you gave them a certain life that you
- 59:55Speaker 1: didn't have it so where that they didn't have to
- 59:58Speaker 1: feel like to be prepared like that to take the bullets. No,
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: it's not even a life. It's what comes with it.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: It's not the life. It's like you know, it's like
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: like I wouldn't want my son to have to deal
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: with Like it's it's really tricky. It's really tricky, like
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: when you talk about hate, right, you know what I'm saying,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: Like when you look by the time, by the time
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: I was um by the time I had like my ten,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: I had ten number ones, Like they didn't even know.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: My face looked like you know what I'm saying. There
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: was people like there was people telling me like, yo,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: y'all know, y'all man is Sean Garrett. And I would
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: be like word and I'll be talking to the person.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Wait wait so you said you said people would say
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: I managed Sean Garrett and as a selling point and
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: you're bro I was so high. I mean if you
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: really think about it, like like we ran the game man,
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: Like like I ran the game for like a good
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: ten years, ten to twelve years, like hands down, like
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: at least five number one one is a year. But
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: would they know who your son is? Hell? Yeah, Like
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: it's heavy on your children one. Trying to explain shit
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: to your children, uh from your logical perspective, and there's
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: it's like completely like night and day. And because me
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: and my son are so close in age. Um, it's
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: like you may think that you're talking to them on
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: their level, or you may think that you're talking to
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: them on the same level, but you're not talking to
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: them on the same level because they're emotional. Right. It's
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: like my son, these kids are emotional as hell. So
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: they don't like the word no. They don't like they
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: want it now. They want to do easy to them
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: because because their dad's yeah, because you took the bullets,
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: like the ship exactly, it's like I could do this
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: shit already, got thirty number one. Yeah, and and the
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: ship that they got in a DNA like he got it,
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: like he got it. Yes, he got it. He got everything,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Everything, But but why won't
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: you just give it to him? Because some people believe no,
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: I'm giving it to him. But it's just like you
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: still want to you want to be cautious with your children,
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: like you got kids, okay, so when you have me, yeah,
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: oh really worry enough for everybody, all right, the way
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: you know, But like kids, it's just like it changes you.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: You know, when somebody have a child for the first
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: time and you talk to him like a couple, like
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: a couple months later or a year later, two years later,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: you'd be like, damn, y'all, you're a change because it's
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: it's it's that's a feeling that you can't like your
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: child is your everything, you know what I'm saying. And
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: it's just like certain things you just don't play with it,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Like I don't play with
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: my kids. You know what I'm saying, I don't play
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: about my kids. I don't play about I don't play
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: about life period. So a lot of times, just like
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: people used to be like damn, you know Sean Garbb,
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: be so serious, like hell yeah, shit, because this is
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: life and death. I always looked at it though that way, though, right,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: I always looked at it like when I go in
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: the studio, Shit, this might be this record could change
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: the world. I really did look at it like that.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: I really did think that, yeah, it was going to
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: change the world. I really did think that. I really
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: did think that we were going to change the world
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: with Chris Brown. Like I really thought that, and it
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: really happened, you know what I'm saying. Working with Beyonce,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: Like think about it now, Like if I never work
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: with Beyonce again in my life, wow, I'm like, it's happened,
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Like she's the biggest superstar
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: in the world. I would have never thought at that time.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: I mean I knew she was Beyonce, but I'm like,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: where you start struck when you first started working with him?
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: Hell yeah, like yeah, like I worked with Destity's Shout first,
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: but yeah, man, like it was I was nervous as hell,
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Like is she the reason was the first song? Because
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: I was scared. I was kind of like I knew
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: that I knew that that was a comfort zone, you
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, like shout out the knife wonder
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: unfe wonder beast. Yeah. I don't know if y'all saw
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: what he just posted, but what do you say? It's
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: crazy like he he just explained like when we first met,
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: understanding he explained we first met and how serious I was,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: you know, like I had my damn briefcase handcuffed in
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: my hand to my hand like I was just serious
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: about this ship, bro. And it was like I was saying,
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: by the time they by the time I had like
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: ten number ones, they didn't really know my face looked
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: like because I didn't really I didn't want them to.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: I didn't care about people knowing who I was. I
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: was an artist too. I was an artist too, but
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: I didn't really care about that. What It's almost like
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: it's two that's two different cakes. You know what I'm saying,
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: like when I'm in when I'm in Superman hit hit
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: making mode, that's completely different than Superman as an artist,
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: and sometimes I really enjoy it to the point over
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: here that I spent a lot of time doing it
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: where I just didn't get back to this artist. Yeah,
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: I mean, I mean I've had some hit songs Clark
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: Camp better than being Superman. Have you read where you
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: wanted to be it? Because like you said, you'd like
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: to be the songwriter more and so you cater to
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: that more and being great and your artistry kind of
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: took a hit being in the fortune take a hit, though.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: It's like it's like if there's no way I could
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: have took a hit, because if I was just working
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: on me as an artist, that means I would have
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: been putting out maybe five songs a year versus twenty,
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: or having ten number ones in one year versus one.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: Like that was the math that I was using, you
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, and it really never was. It's
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: like Sean Garrett to Sean Garrett, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: And it's also like you gotta let your you gotta
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: let life come to you. Like sometimes you could drive
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: your car completely off the off the rail if you
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: if you're not patient with God and letting and allow
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: God to just like deal with you accordingly. You know
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: what I'm saying. It's like I can't I can't try
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: to be everything. I can't be all things to everybody.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: I just gotta pace myself in and allow myself to
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: let God bring it to you. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: Sometimes you gotta just like I get into my own girl,
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: because like sometimes I like to just be at home
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: and I just like to just be at home. What
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: you're doing, you got such a such I'm like, I'm
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: just at I'm just chilling, Like I just like to
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: listen to the world. I like to see what's going on.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: I like to let God talk to me. I like
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: to just, like what you mean, like be at home
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: alone and yeah, She's like, weren't you here with me? Yeah?
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Like sometimes it's like I don't. I just like to chill,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Because that piece I need
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: that piece sometimes Gendi Nah. I mean nah, a person
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: can't give you what God gives you for me, you
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. She gives me peace when I'm
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: in that piece type of peace mine. She gives me that,
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: she gives me a certain type of piece, but only
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: God gives me that's spiritual piece that I need sometime
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: for myself. You know what I'm saying, Because you gotta
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: because if I'm not balanced, man, that I can't give you.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: I can't give I can't give nothing of myself. Right,
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: Sometimes you gotta step away, you know, have a mental break.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: How long does that last though? Is it like months
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: or week or day? I mean, it ain't like no
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: three three months abatical and no ship like that. It's
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: just it's just, um, it's just sometimes you know, you
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: might you might need a day or two, you know
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: what I'm saying, just to just enjoy your enjoy your
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: enjoy your peace and weigh things out right, because it's
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: like it's so much going on in the world. You know,
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: it's so much going on with um money, like the money,
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: like like our currency, like it's some real shit going on.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. With our currency, what's it's
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: gonna go dig you or you know you got Russia
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: and uh shoot, China, China and people in India. You
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Trying to create a whole other currency.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: So you know, for me, shit like that matters, you
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I'm just I'm just one of
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: those people sometimes und need a little piece, of course
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: we all do. And to like offer, you know what
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like to offer something, you got to build within.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: It's almost like you gotta get your energy back sometimes
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: you got to recharge said all the time. I'm that
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: was my whole point about. You know, keep going back
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: to you as an artist. You know, you have been
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: a servant to your industry for so long, you know,
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: you know, sometimes it's okay to be selfish if that's
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: what you want, like as far as to be an
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: artist and to be as big as you want to be. Yeah,
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: I'm definitely getting more to that place of being selfish
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: with myself myself from an artist's perspective, Like that's coming
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: for sure, right, But that's such an such a mindset,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: you know, I mean, that artist's mindset is like like
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: I think Future probably said it best, Like when you
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: think about Future the way he explains the way he
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: explains himself in his life, it really makes sense for
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: the artist's future, you know what I mean, Like every
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: every aspect of it, would y'all agree? Guys? What does
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: he say? So it's like, you know when when you
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: talk about future, like when future talks about he had
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: to be selfish at times, he had to be um
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: even though his relationships on like how serious he took
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: it or how it comes across. It could have came
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: across to some people as if you know some sometimes
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: he don't care something, but he has to focus. You
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: have to. You have to really give yourself. You gotta
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: be selfish with yourself. The industry is always going to
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: be a number one girl in some type of capacity. Yeah,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: it breaks you down like this shit. It really the
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: industry will break you all the way down because you know,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: when you think about it, if you're already dealing with
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: shit like this's been on the internet along, it's too much.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: I think it's just too much. You got the answer
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: to people you don't know. You don't really you think
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: you're not answering to them, but you you definitely you
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: answering in some way because you see that shit it's
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: over on a certain to a certain extent. After seeing
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: shit happened or seeing shit said so many times, it
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: affects you. Yeah, like celebrities always talk about like how
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: comments don't affect them, and I'm like, yes, yes, yes
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: it dude, because if you got the time to respond
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: to a negative comment that a fan said, and you
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: got a thousand other comments, it's positive that you could
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: respond to. Then the comments. You know, I feel like
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: slaves are I mean celebrities are slaves. So you know
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: the Internet at this point you are, man, you were
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: slaves to success? Yeah, you slave to the success. It's
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: almost like man, you know you think to yourself, you like,
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: damn like what you were saying. It's like, Sean, do
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: I feel like you ask me do I feel like, um,
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: I was slighted as an artist? I don't feel slighted.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: But to be very honest, it's only twenty four hours
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: in a day. Sometimes it takes me twenty. But you
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: feel under appreciated. I do. Sometimes I ain't gonna lie
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: like like if there's nothing, if there hasn't been, if
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: there has been anything, I feel like that's the part that, Like,
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: to be honest, that shit really fucks with you sometimes.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: It's like when people don't appreciate your hard work or
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: your or your your talent, your gift, you know what
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: I'm saying that ship at some point it does fuck
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: with you. But we appreciate you here on the Ball
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Alert Show, and I appreciate you. Just learning more about you,
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: you know, makes my appreciation grow even more. And um,
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: what you were saying about, you know, how you took
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: a different route on purpose and did things differently and
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: ended up, you know, that becoming your signature and you
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: becoming really really successful at it. On another level, that
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: hits from me too, because I don't know if you remember.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: You probably don't, but um, I think it was like
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: early twenty maybe eleven twelve. I did a DAT tape
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: and with Greg with Greg Street, and he hosted or whatever,
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: and then he wanted to make this whole big deal
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: about it, so we did it on his radio show
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: and you actually called in and you were, you know,
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: giving me my props and all that stuff. Remember that.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: I remember that. I really do remember that. That's crazy.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: That was you. Yeah, all right, listen. Life is crazy, right,
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: Life is one big circle, it is. But you know what,
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: they never appreciated Michael Jackson. They never appreciated Prince. People
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: don't appreciate any of the grades that we have in
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: front of us until it's too late. I really appreciate, UM,
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: I really appreciate these times. UM. You know, growing up,
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: growing up UM with a lot of you guys, UM,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: I didn't get a chance to, like I think, to
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: get to to get back to you what you said.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: I was working so much that I didn't really the
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: human side of me. I lost the human side of
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: me at some time, at some points because I couldn't, UM,
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: I couldn't focus on being a human. I had to
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: focus on being a machine. UM. And now I'm I'm
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: spending a little bit more time being a human and
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: having a time to be appreciated and having uh time
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: to actually process um, real conversations and love and appreciation
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: and UM. Because it's really tough sometimes, you know what
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like it's you know, I'm really, I'm really,
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: I'm really passionate. You know what I'm saying. I'm very passionate.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: And you know, sometimes it has been times that, like
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: you know, you don't always like it when the wrong
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: perception of you is out there. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: It's like you can't be out there that long without
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: somebody having an issue or somebody not liking some shit.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. It's like and you really
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: just been trying to just do your best and be
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: your best and give everything you got and that ship
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: gets to a point where it weighs on you, you
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. But but at the end as
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: a whole, you know, I'm very appreciative, um for being
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: out here and and the love I've I've I've received
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: over It's been a great life. Like it's been a
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: great it's been a great time. You gotta come back
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: on the show, brother. Yeah, yeah, we got up upset
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: shit man. UM, trying to finish up this this Usher album. UM,
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: and thank y'all man, And UM, I want to say
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: thank y'all to everybody who's been really receptive to the
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: new single Glue for usure. UM working on my album
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: for sure, I want to do the international tour. UM.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: I mean sometimes I never I never really appreciate it.
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: I mean I never even realized so many people appreciated
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: my my work as an artist. UM, you know what
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: I mean, a lot of interviews I've been having it's like, Yo,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: where is your shit at? Like, and UM, I really
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: felt like I didn't really think people appreciated it that much.
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: Said that it's hard man. You know what I meant.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: Number one, they want to let me get so. I
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: got so used to people being selfish, and I never
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: was selfish. I will say this, you know last thing. Um,
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: it's important to um let people know that you love them.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Because it's it's shit. It's
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: a challenge. It's a challenge, uh every day and and um,
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: just like you said, you know, I didn't know that
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: that was That's so crazy. I didn't know that that
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: was you. And that was ten years or damn there
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: eight years ago, right and now look look at you.
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. That's the one thing I
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: really appreciate to about life. It's like seeing people grow
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: and being able to have conversations later about it. You
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: know what I mean. You might have never known where
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: a person was going through or what a person was
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: really trying to do with their life. You know what
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: I'm saying. So well, thank you agatting Sean Garrett. Before
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: we get out of here, if you gotta have a
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: pep talk, my name is mister Sean Garrett aka to
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Pen the pep Talk for me today is just basically
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: definitely stand on your positivity, maintaining your mental stability, not
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: allowing anything or anybody to talk you out of your peace,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: I think is a very important part of life, no
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: matter what your profession is. The other part, I would say,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: if you're in the music business and you definitely want
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: to be successful, learn as much as you possibly can
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: about every aspect of the business, and not just in
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: the music business, but that's in life. Yeah. Motivating, Motivating
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: yourself is motivating the world because if whatever you give it,
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: if you're given that positive energy back out to the world,
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: it's going to come back to you. Peace and love.
