- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's Adam here and in this. Episode of the.
- 0:43Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis session
- 0:47created for a client that wanted to.
- 0:50Leave the city. They'd been living in for a
- 0:53while and it was quite a. Big.
- 0:56Bustly major metropolitan area and they really liked nature
- 1:02green. Fields.
- 1:03Trees. Space, open space, clean, fresh
- 1:07air. But they felt some kind of
- 1:10resistance to that. So what you're going to hear in
- 1:13this hypnosis session is an element of a couple of
- 1:17metaphors. Fused with.
- 1:20Certain suggestions that link to this idea that not only can they
- 1:25handle what the future brings, but actually they wouldn't want
- 1:31to keep things the same and that therefore changing is
- 1:35inevitable. It's just making a discerning
- 1:39change rather than rushing into anything.
- 1:42And a lot of people have had the experience of making a bad
- 1:46decision just because they're running away from something they
- 1:50don't want. And that might be someone with,
- 1:53let's say, a, an abusive father running into a new relationship,
- 1:57for example, simply to get away from a toxic home environment.
- 2:03But. Rarely does that lead.
- 2:05To good things, because the urgency to get away from
- 2:10something you don't want is probably going to.
- 2:12Distort the due. Diligence and consideration of
- 2:17whatever is the thing you're going towards, and the ideal
- 2:21motivation isn't to only move towards what you want.
- 2:25But. Also to learn what you don't
- 2:27want and therefore I feel like the carrot and the stick is
- 2:30really useful. It's not a problem to move away
- 2:33from what you don't want because that is intuitive.
- 2:37You can assess that you don't want to be with someone in a
- 2:40certain place, in a certain environment, in a certain job.
- 2:44Like knowing that is a good thing as long as you just don't
- 2:48rush into anything. Other than that.
- 2:51So knowing what you want and what you don't want is really
- 2:54helpful and feeling like you can do it in stages.
- 2:58One of the key things that gets in the way of making a change is
- 3:01this idea. Of it has to be a.
- 3:03Perfect change. It has to be exactly the right
- 3:05thing. But actually just making a
- 3:07change that is an improvement on where you are actually can lead
- 3:12to even more decisions like that, which can get you really
- 3:15where you do want. And this particular client was
- 3:18considering three parts of the country to live in and feeling
- 3:22like that's a bit of a quest, that's an adventure to explore
- 3:25what they want, really resisted and reduced the amount of
- 3:30resistance to stop them exploring that.
- 3:33So because this is so metaphorical, I think it would
- 3:38benefit anyone considering making a major life change.
- 3:42Like I said, that could be a job.
- 3:44Could be a place to live. Could be a relationship, could
- 3:46be a friendship, But if you're considering making a big change,
- 3:50that is anything other than keeping things the same,
- 3:54anything other than the status quo, this will help to frame it
- 3:58in a way that will give you a sense of confidence and courage
- 4:02to help make a major life change.
- 4:05Obviously, it was created for someone else.
- 4:06If you feel like a bespoke session might be helpful for
- 4:09you, click the link in the show notes and you can schedule that
- 4:12free consultation call. For now though, find a quite
- 4:15comfortable place where you won't be.
- 4:16Disturbed. Relax.
- 4:18And enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 4:57you breathe in, breathe in a resourceful feeling of calm and
- 5:02relaxation. And as you exhale.
- 5:10Just allow any feelings of worry, stress, or tension to
- 5:17feel like it's dissolving and leaving your body in that
- 5:25outward breath. And when you breathe in, breathe
- 5:35in deeper than you normally would.
- 5:39And as you exhale, just allow yourself to exhale for longer.
- 5:48A long outward breath. And just scan your body for any
- 6:01clues of tension, perhaps around your forehead, your jaw, your
- 6:08neck, or your shoulders. And as you breathe in a feeling
- 6:13of resourceful relaxation, give permission to that tension for
- 6:20it to let go, to let go completely.
- 6:26Allow it to feel like it's leaving your body, enabling you
- 6:31to feel deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 6:39And as your body relaxes, allow your imagination to awaken.
- 6:49I don't want you to imagine staring into a photo, a
- 6:55painting, or a picture of a river.
- 7:03A river weaving its way through beautiful landscapes.
- 7:12And I want you to imagine stepping into that picture and
- 7:17finding yourself on one side of the river.
- 7:24And for a while, that side of the river was exactly where you
- 7:30were meant to be, a desirable place, felt comfortable there.
- 7:40But I want you to get a sense then something has changed on
- 7:47this side of the river. It no longer feels quite as
- 7:52safe, as peaceful, as calm. And I want you to imagine adding
- 8:01things to your side of the river that represent your reality now.
- 8:11Maybe you add big tall buildings, a smell, noise,
- 8:20hustle and bustle, even roads and traffic, but you realise
- 8:30that just on the other side of the river are all the things
- 8:37that deep down are more desirable.
- 8:43Fresh air, peacefulness, safety, open spaces.
- 9:01But as you approach the river, I want you to get a sense the
- 9:08river is just too wide and too deep for you to cross the river
- 9:16in one jump. And you can wait until a bridge
- 9:25magically appears and we can call that luck or good fortune.
- 9:33Or you can find your way across the river that matches where
- 9:42you're at and as you explore the river.
- 9:56I want you to get a sense that you discover two or three
- 10:02stepping stones that although it's not possible to cross the
- 10:08river in one jump, each of these stepping stones seems
- 10:15manageable, achievable, and well within your capabilities.
- 10:25And just because the stepping stones are there still doesn't
- 10:29mean you have to cross. And we can call the side of the
- 10:35river that you're on the status quo continuing as it already is.
- 10:49And sometimes the law of familiarity means that we feel
- 10:55that because we know what to expect, somehow that feels
- 11:00safer, more predictable. There's a saying better the
- 11:09devil you know than the devil you don't.
- 11:13And that keeps people in undesirable situations for way
- 11:19too long, and if you're unconscious, has already made
- 11:25the decision that even if you're not sure exactly what you're
- 11:31going to, you have decided you don't want to remain on your
- 11:36side of the river. Let me know by nodding your
- 11:39head. And then it becomes a quest, an
- 11:48epic quest, to find the right side of the river for you.
- 11:56And what if stepping stone, one we can call reconnaissance.
- 12:10Many people take a car for a test drive before they buy one,
- 12:16and sometimes they'll take two or three or four cars for a test
- 12:20drive before they commit to a test.
- 12:27What if the test itself reduces risk?
- 12:33And even then, some people don't even buy the car, they lease the
- 12:36car just to make sure. So just imagine leaping from the
- 12:46riverbank to Stepping stone one and feel how sturdy that first
- 12:55stepping stone is, not wobbling at all.
- 12:59Well within your capability. And there, on Stepping stone
- 13:07one, I want you to imagine what it would be like to explore a
- 13:13different part of the country. Maybe you can imagine taking a
- 13:19train to a town. Imagine staying in a hotel and
- 13:25exploring the nearby areas. I don't want you to get a sense.
- 13:32Then the right place for you will reveal itself to you based
- 13:41on how you intuitively feel. You'll know it when you feel it.
- 13:51Perhaps you could imagine taking a flight to a different part of
- 13:55the country and exploring cities and regions there.
- 14:03I want you to get a sense. Then it's the feeling you're
- 14:08looking for. The right feeling will mean it
- 14:15doesn't matter how much green is around you, it won't matter how
- 14:24much rainfall or sunshine. The right feeling will be the
- 14:28right place for you. Perhaps you could imagine even a
- 14:34third place. Different terrain, different
- 14:40accent maybe, but I want you to get a sense that in one of these
- 14:46places you will uncover a feeling.
- 14:54And the feeling doesn't have to be perfect peacefulness, it just
- 14:57has to be the best feeling of the places you're exploring.
- 15:08And if your unconscious mind accepts, then step one of the
- 15:13quest is to find the best choice that represents an improvement
- 15:24compared to where things are. And let me know about nodding
- 15:27your head. I want you to imagine going
- 15:32forwards in time and maybe giving notice to end the lease.
- 15:42Imagine finding a place where you can live for a year or so in
- 15:48that area. This doesn't have to be the
- 15:53perfect place. What if this is stepping stone
- 15:57too? What if this is your base to
- 16:04explore the wider region there. What if this is the place where
- 16:11you relearn to drive, feel comfortable behind a steering
- 16:15wheel, find the cute towns, impressive landscaping, crunchy
- 16:25countryside and just. What if this is the place your
- 16:30base to explore? I want you to imagine looking
- 16:35out from a the balcony of a managed building, feeling that
- 16:45this doesn't need to be home forever.
- 16:48This is just home for now. This is the ideal place to do
- 16:56even more exploring, to find even more of that feeling, a
- 17:05feeling that feels like a peaceful home, a safe, secure
- 17:11place where you can feel relaxed and free.
- 17:17So imagine driving around that region, exploring different
- 17:22places, breathing in fresh air, tasting good food, getting a
- 17:30sense of the ambience, the energy, the communities, the
- 17:35feelings, and maybe you find the right place here, the place that
- 17:46you could call home for a longer period of time.
- 17:50Or decide that we need another stepping stone.
- 17:58Because here's the interesting thing.
- 18:03From the second stepping stone, you then have a choice.
- 18:09It's close enough to the other side of the river to just leap
- 18:13and be there. But if you really wanted to make
- 18:17sure there is the third stepping stone, and maybe that is another
- 18:24year somewhere else to compare and contrast, really make sure
- 18:32that your intuition is leading you to a place where you feel
- 18:36happy and you don't need to decide whether to take the third
- 18:43stepping stone or just leap across the river.
- 18:45Now. You will only know that when you
- 18:50arrive at stepping stone #2 we don't have to second guess the
- 18:56future, just respond to it. If something feels good, then do
- 19:04it. And if it doesn't feel right,
- 19:07take some more time. Mitigate the risks.
- 19:13Feel that you're doing things in your way at your pace.
- 19:20But I want you to get a sense that crossing the river is
- 19:26desirable and achievable, and that's all your mind needs to
- 19:31know. And if it feels that, let me
- 19:34know about nodding your head. I want you to feel that your
- 19:43unconscious will give you the resources every time you make a
- 19:49decision that aligns with a desirable future.
- 19:55That every time you do something outside of your comfort zone,
- 19:59your unconscious intuition will reward you with courage and
- 20:03confidence. All you need to do is believe
- 20:08that it will be there when you need it, and it will.
- 20:14When you act from a place of self belief, you will be
- 20:20rewarded with all of the resources you need.
- 20:26Don't be surprised if when you act from hesitation or doubt,
- 20:31fear or inertia, more doubts and fears will creep in.
- 20:39So give permission to yourself to act boldly and bravely,
- 20:46knowing that things will work out fine, because they will.
- 20:53And as you hold that thought, feel like you're floating back
- 20:58through that picture into the here and now with a new sense of
- 21:02clarity, a new sense of adventure, a new sense of
- 21:10courage and optimism that you are in a quest to find the ideal
- 21:20side of the riverbank for you. So take a deep breath in through
- 21:25your nose and out through your nose.
- 21:29Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes as I now count from
- 21:331:00 to 10:00 to awaken you. Starting to count. 123 waking
- 21:40up. 456, more alert. 7-8 open your eyes.
- 21:46Open your eyes. 910 wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
