  me
• 3:26
  and

  my
• 3:26
  family
• 3:27
  that
• 3:27
  we

  to
• 3:28
  experience.
• 3:29
  Giant,
• 3:29
  Giants,
• 3:30
  Mets.
• 3:30
  And
• 3:30
  we
• 3:30
  like,
• 3:31
  we
• 3:31
  love
• 3:31
  the
• 3:31
  Islanders
• 3:32
  too.
• 3:32
  Good.
• 3:33
  Sounds
• 3:33
  good.
• 3:34
  Who's
• 3:34
  your
• 3:34
  favorite
• 3:35
  all

• 3:38
  Favorite
• 3:38
  all
• 3:38
  time
• 3:39
  met.
• 3:39
  Man,
• 3:39
  that's
• 3:40
  got
• 3:40
  to
• 3:40
  be
• 3:40
  hard.
• 3:41
  In
• 3:42
  my
• 3:42
  generation,
• 3:42
  I
• 3:42
  think
• 3:43
  it's
• 3:43
  David
• 3:43
  Wright
• 3:44
  and
• 3:44
  everything
• 3:45
  that
• 3:45
  he
• 3:45
  did.
• 3:45
  I
• 3:46
  knew
• 3:46
  you
• 3:46
  were
• 3:46
  going
• 3:46
  to
• 3:46
  say
• 3:47
  that,
• 3:47
  Reno.
• 3:48
  I
• 3:48
  had
• 3:48
  a
• 3:49
  feeling.
• 3:49
  Yeah.
• 3:50
  Well,
• 3:50
  that's
• 3:51
  a
• 3:51
  good
• 3:51
  choice.
• 3:53
  Yeah,
• 3:53
  I
• 3:53
  mean
• 3:53
  I
• 3:53
  feel
• 3:54
  like
• 3:54
  for
• 3:54
  my
• 3:54
  time
• 3:55
  period
• 3:55
  and
• 3:55
  the
• 3:55
  time
• 3:56
  I
• 3:56
  grew
• 3:56
  up
• 3:56
  again,
• 3:56
  I'm
• 3:57
  born
• 3:57
  at
• 3:57
  the
• 3:58
  end
• 3:58
  of
• 3:58
  2003.
• 3:59
  Right.
• 3:59
  So
• 4:00
  in
• 4:00
  like
• 4:00
  the
• 4:01
  early
• 4:02
  2010s.
• 4:03
  Right.
• 4:03
  David
• 4:03
  Wright
• 4:04
  was
• 4:04
  the
• 4:04
  captain.
• 4:04
  He
• 4:05
  was
• 4:05
  the
• 4:05
  leader
• 4:05
  of
• 4:05
  that
• 4:05
  team.
• 4:06
  And
• 4:07
  the
• 4:07
  way
• 4:07
  that
• 4:08
  even
• 4:08
  through
• 4:08
  some
• 4:09
  of
• 4:09
  those
• 4:09
  seasons
• 4:10
  where
• 4:10
  you
• 4:10
  knew
• 4:11
  that
• 4:11
  we
• 4:11
  just
• 4:11
  weren't
• 4:11
  going
• 4:11
  to
• 4:12
  be
• 4:12
  very
• 4:12
  good.
• 4:12
  Right.
• 4:13
  He
• 4:13
  always
• 4:14
  carried
• 4:15
  himself
• 4:15
  with
• 4:15
  a
• 4:15
  special
• 4:16
  level
• 4:16
  of
• 4:16
  class
• 4:17
  and
• 4:18
  his
• 4:18
  play
• 4:18
  on
• 4:18
  the
• 4:18
  field
• 4:19
  reflected
• 4:20
  that
• 4:20
  of
• 4:21
  hard

  point,
• 4:30
  Reno.
• 4:30
  That
• 4:31
  is
• 4:31
  exactly
• 4:32
  true.
• 4:32
  Did
• 4:33
  you
• 4:33
  know
• 4:33
  that

  Pete
• 4:33
  Alonso

• 4:40
  Yeah.
• 4:40
  I'll
• 4:41
  be
• 4:41
  honest,
• 4:41
  I'm
• 4:42
  out
• 4:42
  in
• 4:42
  California
• 4:42
  now.
• 4:46
  I
• 4:46
  did

  not
• 4:46

• 4:46
  that.
• 4:47
  That's

  pretty

  cool.
• 4:47
  Yeah,
• 4:48
  Pete
• 4:48
  moved

  ahead.
• 4:49
  Now
• 4:49
  I
• 4:49
  just,
• 4:49
  I
• 4:50
  want
• 4:50
  to
• 4:50
  ask
• 4:50
  you
• 4:50
  without

  away
• 4:51
  your

  whereabouts
• 4:53
  did
• 4:53
  you
• 4:53
  live
• 4:54
  in
• 4:54
  North
• 4:54
  Babylon.
• 4:55

• 4:57
  On
• 4:58
  Wilshire
• 4:58

• 4:59
  If
• 5:00
  you
• 5:00
  think
• 5:00
  if
• 5:00
  you're
• 5:01
  going
• 5:01
  down,
• 5:01
  get

  off
• 5:02
  the

• 5:03
  and
• 5:03
  you're
• 5:03
  going
• 5:03
  down
• 5:03
  231
• 5:05
  going
• 5:05
  north.
• 5:06
  I
• 5:07
  around
• 5:07
  like
• 5:08
  near
• 5:08
  like
• 5:08
  TD
• 5:09
  bank
• 5:09
  area.
• 5:11
  What
• 5:11
  was
• 5:11
  TD
• 5:12
  Bank?
• 5:12
  The
• 5:12
  cleaners,
• 5:13
  McDonald's
• 5:14
  on
• 5:15
  that
• 5:15
  side
• 5:15
  of
• 5:15
  town.
• 5:15
  Okay.
• 5:16
  Because
• 5:16
  I
• 5:16
  grew
• 5:16
  up
• 5:17
  down
• 5:18
  south
• 5:18
  a
• 5:19
  little
• 5:19
  further
• 5:20
  just
• 5:20
  off
• 5:21
  Deer
• 5:21

• 5:21
  Avenue
• 5:22

• 5:26
  there
• 5:27
  on
• 5:27

• 5:28
  That's
• 5:28
  where
• 5:29
  I.
• 5:29
  Oh,
• 5:30
  no
• 5:30
  way.
• 5:30
  Okay.
• 5:31
  Yeah.
• 5:31
  My,
• 5:31
  my
• 5:32
  grand.
• 5:32
  My
• 5:32
  grandpa
• 5:33
  lived.
• 5:33
  They
• 5:34
  lived
• 5:34
  for
• 5:34
  like
• 5:34
  25,
• 5:35
  30
• 5:35
  years
• 5:35
  on
• 5:35
  Dwight.
• 5:36
  Ah,
• 5:37
  okay.
• 5:37
  Yeah.
• 5:38
  Similar.
• 5:39
  Just
• 5:39
  wanted
• 5:39
  to
• 5:39
  find
• 5:39
  out
• 5:40
  what
• 5:40
  neck
• 5:40
  of
• 5:40
  the
• 5:40
  woods
• 5:41
  you
• 5:41
  were
• 5:41
  in
• 5:41
  now.
• 5:42
  Your
• 5:42
  high
• 5:42
  school,
• 5:42
  your
• 5:43
  high
• 5:43
  school
• 5:43
  career
• 5:44
  at
• 5:44
  Kellenberg.
• 5:45
  I
• 5:45
  know
• 5:46
  Bishop
• 5:46
  Kellenberg
• 5:47
  was
• 5:47
  the
• 5:47
  bishop
• 5:48
  when
• 5:48
  I
• 5:48
  was
• 5:48
  an
• 5:48
  altar
• 5:49
  boy
• 5:49
  back
• 5:49
  in
• 5:50
  school,
• 5:50
  he
• 5:50
  was
• 5:50
  the
• 5:50
  bishop
• 5:51
  of
• 5:51
  the
• 5:51
  Diocese
• 5:51
  of
• 5:52
  Rockville
• 5:52
  Center.
• 5:52
  Walter
• 5:53
  Kellenberg,
• 5:55
  what
• 5:55
  was
• 5:55
  your
• 5:55
  high
• 5:55
  school
• 5:56
  career
• 5:56
  like
• 5:56
  playing
• 5:57
  football
• 5:57
  at
• 5:57
  Kellenberg?
• 5:59
  Yeah,
• 6:00
  it
• 6:00
  was
• 6:00
  one
• 6:00
  that
• 6:00
  was
• 6:01
  really
• 6:01
  cool,
• 6:01
  really
• 6:02
  special,
• 6:02
  but
• 6:02
  a
• 6:02
  roller
• 6:03
  coaster
• 6:04
  again.
• 6:04
  My
• 6:05
  freshman
• 6:05
  sophomore
• 6:06
  years
• 6:06
  came
• 6:06
  with
• 6:06
  highlights.
• 6:07
  Playing
• 6:07
  on
• 6:07
  the.
• 6:07
  On
• 6:08
  our
• 6:08
  JBA
• 6:08
  team
• 6:09
  at
• 6:09
  Kahlenberg
• 6:09
  and
• 6:09
  then
• 6:10
  playing
• 6:10
  on
• 6:10
  the
• 6:10
  varsity
• 6:11
  team
• 6:11
  that
• 6:11
  would
• 6:11
  go
• 6:12
  on
• 6:12
  to
• 6:12
  losing
• 6:12
  the
• 6:12
  double
• 6:13
  A1
• 6:13
  championship
• 6:14
  to
• 6:14
  Chaminade.
• 6:15
  And
• 6:15
  then
• 6:16
  year
• 6:16
  three
• 6:16
  came
• 6:17
  with
• 6:17
  a
• 6:17
  lot
• 6:17
  of
• 6:17
  uncertainty
• 6:18
  with
• 6:18
  COVID
• 6:18
  unfortunately,
• 6:19
  with
• 6:20
  a
• 6:20
  lot
• 6:20
  of
• 6:21
  different
• 6:21
  things
• 6:21
  going
• 6:22
  on
• 6:22
  and
• 6:22
  such.
• 6:22
  Knowing
• 6:23
  if
• 6:23
  we're
• 6:23
  going
• 6:23
  to
• 6:23
  play
• 6:23
  in
• 6:23
  the
• 6:24
  fall,
• 6:24
  not
• 6:24
  know
• 6:24
  if
• 6:24
  we're
• 6:24
  going
• 6:25
  to
• 6:25
  play
• 6:25
  in
• 6:25
  the
• 6:25
  fall,
• 6:25
  would
• 6:25
  we
• 6:25
  even
• 6:25
  play
• 6:26
  at
• 6:26
  all.
• 6:26
  And
• 6:27
  then
• 6:27
  when
• 6:28
  springtime
• 6:29
  came
• 6:29
  around
• 6:29
  January,
• 6:30
  we
• 6:30
  found
• 6:31
  out
• 6:31
  we
• 6:31
  were
• 6:31
  going
• 6:31
  to
• 6:31
  play
• 6:31
  in
• 6:31
  the
• 6:31
  spring.
• 6:32
  Then
• 6:33
  next
• 6:33
  thing
• 6:33
  you
• 6:34
  know,
• 6:34
  I
• 6:34
  tore
• 6:34
  my
• 6:34
  ACL
• 6:35
  meniscus
• 6:35
  that
• 6:36
  January
• 6:37
  and
• 6:37
  it
• 6:38
  took.
• 6:38
  Kept
• 6:38
  me
• 6:38
  out
• 6:38
  of
• 6:39
  that
• 6:39
  season.
• 6:39
  So
• 6:39
  that
• 6:39
  was
• 6:39
  the
• 6:40
  first
• 6:40
  year,
• 6:41
  first
• 6:41
  time
• 6:41
  ever,
• 6:41
  I
• 6:42
  never
• 6:42
  missed
• 6:43
  a
• 6:43
  football
• 6:43
  game
• 6:44
  my
• 6:44
  whole
• 6:44
  entire
• 6:45
  life.
• 6:45
  From
• 6:46
  North
• 6:46
  Babylon.
• 6:47
  Bulldogs.
• 6:47
  Bulldogs.
• 6:48
  Peanut
• 6:48
  Blue
• 6:49
  in
• 6:49
  2009,
• 6:50
  all
• 6:50
  the
• 6:50
  Way
• 6:51
  through,
• 6:52
  which
• 6:52
  my
• 6:52
  junior
• 6:53
  high
• 6:53
  school
• 6:53
  would
• 6:53
  be
• 6:53
  the
• 6:53
  first
• 6:53
  ever
• 6:54
  football
• 6:54
  game
• 6:54
  that
• 6:54
  I
• 6:55
  would
• 6:55
  miss.
• 6:55
  I
• 6:56
  wouldn't
• 6:56
  be
• 6:56
  able
• 6:56
  to
• 6:57
  participate
• 6:57
  in.
• 6:58
  And
• 6:58
  that
• 6:58
  killed
• 6:59
  me.
• 6:59
  But
• 7:00
  it
• 7:00
  raised
• 7:00
  a
• 7:01
  different
• 7:01
  fire
• 7:01
  into.
• 7:02
  Into
• 7:02
  me
• 7:03
  as
• 7:03
  a
• 7:03
  player
• 7:03
  and
• 7:03
  as
• 7:04
  a
• 7:04
  person
• 7:04
  to
• 7:05
  work
• 7:05
  even
• 7:05
  harder
• 7:06
  for
• 7:06
  my
• 7:06
  senior
• 7:06
  year,
• 7:07
  which
• 7:07
  I
• 7:07
  wanted
• 7:07
  to
• 7:07
  make
• 7:08
  sure
• 7:08
  we
• 7:08
  put
• 7:08
  our
• 7:09
  best
• 7:09
  foot
• 7:09
  forward.
• 7:10
  And
• 7:10
  we
• 7:10
  ended
• 7:11
  up
• 7:11
  being
• 7:11
  the
• 7:11
  first
• 7:11
  kellenberg
• 7:12
  team
• 7:12
  in
• 7:12
  20
• 7:13
  years
• 7:13
  to
• 7:13
  qualify
• 7:14
  for
• 7:14
  the
• 7:14
  AAA
• 7:15
  playoffs.
• 7:15
  And
• 7:15
  it
• 7:15
  was
• 7:16
  pretty
• 7:16
  surreal
• 7:16
  because
• 7:17
  our
• 7:17
  offensive
• 7:18
  coordinator
• 7:18
  at
• 7:18
  the
• 7:19
  time,
• 7:19
  who
• 7:19
  still
• 7:19
  is
• 7:20
  Jim
• 7:20
  McDermott,
• 7:21
  was
• 7:21
  the
• 7:21
  quarterback
• 7:22
  of
• 7:22
  the
• 7:22
  last
• 7:22
  Kellenberg
• 7:23
  team
• 7:23
  that
• 7:24
  brought
• 7:24
  them
• 7:24
  to
• 7:24
  the
• 7:24
  AAA
• 7:25
  playoffs.
• 7:26
  So
• 7:26
  it
• 7:26
  was.
• 7:27
  It
• 7:27
  was
• 7:27
  a
• 7:27
  special.
• 7:27
  It
• 7:28
  was
• 7:28
  a
• 7:28
  special
• 7:28
  way
• 7:28
  to
• 7:29
  end
• 7:29
  up.
• 7:29
  And
• 7:29
  I'm
• 7:29
  super
• 7:30
  grateful
• 7:30
  for
• 7:30
  everyone
• 7:30
  at
• 7:30
  Kellenberg,
• 7:32
  A
• 7:32
  lot
• 7:33
  of
• 7:33
  people
• 7:33
  there
• 7:33
  who
• 7:33
  have
• 7:34
  done
• 7:34
  a
• 7:34
  lot
• 7:35
  of
• 7:35
  really
• 7:35
  great
• 7:35
  things
• 7:36
  for
• 7:36
  me
• 7:36
  in
• 7:36
  my
• 7:37
  life,
• 7:37
  not.
• 7:37
  Even
• 7:37
  just
• 7:37
  in
• 7:38
  football.
• 7:38
  We're
• 7:38
  talking
• 7:38
  about
• 7:40
  as
• 7:40
  a
• 7:40
  man
• 7:40
  of
• 7:41
  faith,
• 7:42
  as
• 7:43
  a
• 7:43
  student
• 7:43
  and
• 7:44
  as
• 7:44
  a
• 7:44
  person.
• 7:45
  So
• 7:45
  I.
• 7:47
  One
• 7:47
  of
• 7:47
  the
• 7:47
  coolest
• 7:48
  experiences
• 7:49
  ever
• 7:49
  that
• 7:49
  I
• 7:49
  had
• 7:49
  there.
• 7:50
  And
• 7:50
  I'm
• 7:50
  very
• 7:50
  grateful
• 7:50
  for
• 7:51
  everyone
• 7:51
  in
• 7:51
  that
• 7:51
  building
• 7:51
  on
• 7:52
  Glenn
• 7:52
  Curtis
• 7:52
  Boulevard.
• 7:53
  Yeah.
• 7:54
  In
• 7:54
  fact,
• 7:54
  Bishop
• 7:55
  Kellenberg
• 7:55
  confirmed
• 7:56
  me,
• 7:56
  so
• 7:56
  that's
• 7:56
  how
• 7:57
  far
• 7:57
  back
• 7:57
  I
• 7:57
  go.
• 7:58
  I've
• 7:58
  heard
• 7:58
  you
• 7:58
  say,
• 7:59
  Reno,
• 7:59
  that
• 8:00
  Kellenberg
• 8:01
  is
• 8:01
  the
• 8:01
  number
• 8:02
  one
• 8:02
  Catholic
• 8:02
  high
• 8:03
  school
• 8:03
  on
• 8:03
  Long
• 8:03
  island,
• 8:04
  but
• 8:04
  I
• 8:04
  have
• 8:04
  to
• 8:05
  differ
• 8:05
  with
• 8:05
  you
• 8:05
  on
• 8:06
  that
• 8:06
  because
• 8:06
  I
• 8:07
  attended
• 8:07
  a
• 8:08
  little
• 8:08
  school
• 8:08
  down
• 8:08
  in
• 8:08
  west
• 8:09
  Isaac
• 8:10
  called
• 8:10
  St.
• 8:10
  John
• 8:11
  the
• 8:11
  Baptist.
• 8:13
  I
• 8:13
  have
• 8:13
  to
• 8:14
  say
• 8:14
  that
• 8:14
  that's
• 8:15
  the
• 8:15
  best
• 8:15
  Catholic
• 8:16
  high
• 8:16
  school
• 8:16
  on
• 8:16
  Long
• 8:17
  Island.
• 8:17
  But
• 8:18
  there's
• 8:18
  another
• 8:18
  time,
• 8:19
  another
• 8:20
  incident
• 8:20
  where
• 8:20
  we
• 8:20
  kind
• 8:21
  of
• 8:21
  crossed
• 8:21
  paths
• 8:22
  there.
• 8:23
  St.
• 8:23
  John's
• 8:24
  not
• 8:25
  a
• 8:25
  perennial
• 8:25
  football
• 8:26
  power,
• 8:26
  but
• 8:27
  certainly
• 8:28
  a
• 8:28
  force
• 8:28
  to
• 8:28
  be
• 8:28
  reckoned
• 8:29
  with.
• 8:29
  We
• 8:29
  were
• 8:29
  speaking
• 8:29
  with
• 8:30
  Reno
• 8:30
  Monteforte
• 8:31
  tonight
• 8:32
  on
• 8:32
  Sports
• 8:32
  Talk
• 8:32
  New
• 8:33
  York.
• 8:33
  Did
• 8:34
  anybody
• 8:34
  ever
• 8:34
  tell
• 8:35
  you
• 8:35
  back
• 8:35
  when
• 8:35
  you
• 8:35
  were
• 8:36
  playing,
• 8:36
  Reno,
• 8:36
  that
• 8:36
  you
• 8:37
  were
• 8:37
  just
• 8:37
  too
• 8:37
  small
• 8:37
  to
• 8:38
  play?
• 8:39
  Always.
• 8:39
  You
• 8:40
  hear
• 8:40
  it
• 8:40
  all
• 8:40
  the
• 8:40
  time.
• 8:41
  But,
• 8:43
  you
• 8:43
  know,
• 8:44
  as
• 8:45
  we
• 8:45
  all
• 8:45
  play
• 8:45
  sports,
• 8:46
  there's
• 8:46
  always
• 8:46
  going
• 8:46
  to
• 8:46
  be
• 8:47
  people
• 8:47
  who
• 8:47
  doubt,
• 8:47
  people
• 8:48
  who
• 8:48
  don't
• 8:48
  believe
• 8:48
  in
• 8:48
  you,
• 8:49
  but
• 8:49
  the
• 8:49
  only
• 8:49
  person
• 8:50
  who
• 8:50
  needs
• 8:50
  to
• 8:50
  believe
• 8:50
  in
• 8:50
  you
• 8:51
  is
• 8:51
  yourself.
• 8:52
  And
• 8:53
  that,
• 8:53
  in
• 8:53
  my
• 8:53
  opinion,
• 8:54
  is
• 8:54
  the
• 8:54
  most
• 8:54
  important
• 8:55
  thing.
• 8:55
  Believing
• 8:55
  in
• 8:56
  yourself
• 8:56
  and
• 8:56
  having
• 8:56
  confidence
• 8:57
  in
• 8:57
  yourself
• 8:57
  and
• 8:57
  your
• 8:58
  abilities.
• 8:59
  And
• 8:59
  fortunately,
• 9:00
  I'm
• 9:00
  blessed
• 9:00
  to
• 9:01
  have
• 9:01
  an
• 9:01
  incredible
• 9:01
  mom
• 9:02
  and
• 9:02
  an
• 9:02
  incredible
• 9:03
  grandma.
• 9:03
  And
• 9:04
  the
• 9:04
  two
• 9:04
  of
• 9:04
  them
• 9:05
  are
• 9:05
  the
• 9:05
  greatest
• 9:05
  people
• 9:05
  in
• 9:06
  the
• 9:06
  world
• 9:06
  who.
• 9:07
  They
• 9:07
  also
• 9:08
  believed
• 9:08
  in
• 9:08
  me
• 9:08
  as
• 9:09
  well.
• 9:09
  And
• 9:09
  it
• 9:09
  didn't
• 9:10
  matter
• 9:10
  if
• 9:10
  I
• 9:10
  was
• 9:10
  5
• 9:11
  foot
• 9:11
  7
• 9:11
  or
• 9:12
  if
• 9:12
  I
• 9:12
  was
• 9:12
  6
• 9:12
  foot
• 9:12
  7,
• 9:13
  I
• 9:13
  was
• 9:13
  still
• 9:13
  going
• 9:14
  to
• 9:14
  have
• 9:14
  confidence
• 9:15
  in
• 9:15
  my
• 9:15
  abilities
• 9:15
  wherever
• 9:16
  we
• 9:16
  ended
• 9:16
  up.
• 9:17
  Wonderful
• 9:17
  answer,
• 9:18
  Reno.
• 9:18
  Yeah.
• 9:19
  Now
• 9:20
  Notre
• 9:20
  Dame,
• 9:21
  of
• 9:21
  course,
• 9:22
  I
• 9:22
  can't
• 9:22
  imagine
• 9:23
  any
• 9:23
  kid
• 9:24
  coming
• 9:24
  out
• 9:25
  of
• 9:25
  high
• 9:25
  school
• 9:25
  that
• 9:26
  would
• 9:26
  not
• 9:26
  choose
• 9:26
  to
• 9:27
  go
• 9:27
  to
• 9:27
  Notre
• 9:27
  Dame.
• 9:28
  But
• 9:28
  what
• 9:28
  was
• 9:28
  behind
• 9:28
  your
• 9:29
  choice
• 9:29
  to
• 9:29
  go
• 9:29
  to
• 9:30
  South
• 9:30
  Bend?
• 9:31
  Yeah.
• 9:32
  So
• 9:32
  I
• 9:32
  tell
• 9:32
  everyone
• 9:33
  I
• 9:33
  never
• 9:33
  liked
• 9:33
  Notre
• 9:34
  Dame
• 9:34
  as
• 9:34
  a
• 9:34
  kid.
• 9:35
  I
• 9:35
  was
• 9:35
  in.
• 9:37
  I
• 9:37
  became
• 9:37
  an
• 9:37
  Alabama
• 9:38
  fan
• 9:38
  the
• 9:38
  second
• 9:38
  grade
• 9:39
  by
• 9:39
  way
• 9:39
  of
• 9:39
  becoming
• 9:40
  a
• 9:40
  bandwagon
• 9:41
  after
• 9:41
  they
• 9:41
  beat
• 9:41
  LSU
• 9:42
  and
• 9:42
  in
• 9:43
  the
• 9:43
  BCS
• 9:43
  National
• 9:44
  Championship
• 9:44
  game
• 9:44
  in
• 9:45
  2012.
• 9:47
  So
• 9:48
  I
• 9:48
  had
• 9:48
  never
• 9:48
  really
• 9:49
  like
• 9:49
  Notre
• 9:49
  Dame.
• 9:50
  Notre
• 9:50
  Dame
• 9:50
  was
• 9:50
  never
• 9:50
  on
• 9:50
  my
• 9:50
  radar
• 9:51
  in
• 9:51
  high
• 9:51
  school.
• 9:52
  I
• 9:52
  was
• 9:52
  committed
• 9:52
  to
• 9:52
  the
• 9:53
  University
• 9:53
  of
• 9:53
  Buffalo
• 9:55
  for
• 9:55
  majority
• 9:56
  of
• 9:56
  my
• 9:56
  senior
• 9:56
  year,
• 9:57
  figuring
• 9:57
  I
• 9:58
  was
• 9:58
  going
• 9:58
  to
• 9:58
  go
• 9:58
  there,
• 9:58
  but
• 9:59
  I
• 9:59
  had
• 9:59
  another
• 10:00
  year
• 10:00
  open
• 10:00
  in
• 10:00
  other
• 10:01
  places
• 10:01
  if
• 10:01
  other
• 10:02
  schools
• 10:02
  were
• 10:02
  willing
• 10:02
  to
• 10:02
  offer.
• 10:03
  And
• 10:04
  on
• 10:04
  January
• 10:04
  8th,
• 10:05
  my
• 10:05
  senior
• 10:05
  year,
• 10:06
  I
• 10:06
  get
• 10:06
  a
• 10:06
  call
• 10:06
  from
• 10:07
  coach
• 10:07
  Brian
• 10:07
  Mason,
• 10:08
  who
• 10:08
  was
• 10:08
  the
• 10:08
  special
• 10:08
  teams
• 10:09
  coordinator
• 10:09
  in
• 10:09
  Notre
• 10:10
  Dame
• 10:10
  at
• 10:10
  the
• 10:10
  time.
• 10:11
  Sorry,
• 10:11
  especially
• 10:12
  in
• 10:12
  corner
• 10:12
  of
• 10:12
  Cincinnati.
• 10:13
  And
• 10:13
  he
• 10:14
  had
• 10:14
  just
• 10:14
  been
• 10:14
  hired
• 10:14
  by
• 10:14
  Notre
• 10:15
  Dame,
• 10:15
  but
• 10:15
  nothing
• 10:15
  was
• 10:15
  official
• 10:16
  yet
• 10:16
  or
• 10:16
  anything.
• 10:17
  And
• 10:17
  his
• 10:17
  Twitter
• 10:17
  actually
• 10:17
  still
• 10:18
  said
• 10:19
  special
• 10:19
  teams
• 10:19
  coordinator
• 10:20
  at
• 10:20
  Cincinnati.
• 10:21
  He
• 10:21
  gives
• 10:21
  me
• 10:21
  a
• 10:22
  call,
• 10:22
  he
• 10:22
  DMs
• 10:23
  me
• 10:23
  on
• 10:23
  Twitter
• 10:23
  and
• 10:23
  says,
• 10:23
  hey,
• 10:23
  give
• 10:24
  me
• 10:24
  a
• 10:24
  call.
• 10:24
  I
• 10:24
  give
• 10:24
  him
• 10:24
  a
• 10:24
  call.
• 10:25
  He
• 10:25
  says,
• 10:25
  hey,
• 10:25
  would
• 10:25
  you
• 10:25
  be
• 10:25
  interested
• 10:26
  in
• 10:26
  going
• 10:26
  to
• 10:26
  Notre
• 10:26
  Dame?
• 10:27
  I
• 10:27
  was
• 10:28
  like,
• 10:28
  yeah,
• 10:28
  I
• 10:29
  would
• 10:29
  definitely
• 10:30
  be
• 10:30
  interested
• 10:31
  in
• 10:31
  coming
• 10:31
  to
• 10:32
  Notre
• 10:32
  Dame
• 10:32
  again.
• 10:33
  Like,
• 10:34
  I've
• 10:34
  gone
• 10:34
  to
• 10:35
  Catholic
• 10:35
  school
• 10:35
  my
• 10:35
  whole
• 10:36
  entire
• 10:36
  life.
• 10:36
  And
• 10:37
  to
• 10:37
  be
• 10:37
  able
• 10:37
  to
• 10:37
  go
• 10:37
  to
• 10:38
  the
• 10:38
  number
• 10:38
  one
• 10:39
  Catholic
• 10:39
  school
• 10:39
  in
• 10:39
  America,
• 10:40
  for
• 10:40
  me,
• 10:41
  I
• 10:41
  mean,
• 10:41
  it
• 10:41
  was.
• 10:41
  It's
• 10:42
  the
• 10:42
  opportunity
• 10:42
  of
• 10:42
  a
• 10:42
  lifetime
• 10:43
  that
• 10:43
  you
• 10:43
  can't
• 10:43
  pass
• 10:43
  up
• 10:44
  to
• 10:44
  go
• 10:44
  through
• 10:44
  my
• 10:45
  grades
• 10:45
  and
• 10:45
  everything
• 10:45
  and
• 10:46
  within
• 10:47
  two
• 10:47
  weeks,
• 10:47
  I
• 10:47
  was
• 10:48
  there
• 10:48
  on
• 10:48
  a
• 10:48
  visit.
• 10:49
  And
• 10:49
  three
• 10:50
  days
• 10:50
  before
• 10:50
  signing
• 10:51
  day,
• 10:51
  I
• 10:51
  had
• 10:51
  to
• 10:51
  decommit
• 10:52
  from
• 10:52
  Buffalo
• 10:53
  in
• 10:53
  the
• 10:53
  parking
• 10:53
  lot
• 10:53
  in
• 10:53
  front
• 10:54
  of
• 10:54
  Chipotle,
• 10:56
  down
• 10:56
  the
• 10:56
  street
• 10:56
  on
• 10:56
  Eddy
• 10:57
  street
• 10:57
  in
• 10:57
  South
• 10:57
  Bend,
• 10:58
  and
• 10:59
  committed
• 11:00
  to
• 11:00
  play
• 11:00
  the.
• 11:01
  To
• 11:01
  play
• 11:02
  the
• 11:02
  next
• 11:02
  few
• 11:02
  years
• 11:03
  for
• 11:03
  the
• 11:03
  Fighting
• 11:03
  Irish.
• 11:04
  And
• 11:04
  it's
• 11:04
  one
• 11:04
  of
• 11:05
  the
• 11:05
  greatest
• 11:05
  decisions
• 11:05
  of
• 11:05
  my
• 11:05
  life.
• 11:06
  And
• 11:06
  I
• 11:07
  am
• 11:07
  so,
• 11:08
  so,
• 11:08
  so
• 11:08
  grateful
• 11:09
  for
• 11:10
  everyone
• 11:10
  there
• 11:10
  in
• 11:11
  South
• 11:11
  Bend
• 11:11
  that
• 11:11
  made
• 11:12
  my
• 11:12
  experience
• 11:12
  so
• 11:13
  positive.
• 11:13
  Yeah,
• 11:14
  no
• 11:14
  comparison,
• 11:15
  really,
• 11:15
  Reno,
• 11:16
  between
• 11:17
  Notre
• 11:17
  Dame
• 11:18
  and
• 11:18
  ub,
• 11:18
  that
• 11:18
  is
• 11:19
  for
• 11:19
  sure.
• 11:19
  Now,
• 11:20
  to
• 11:20
  play
• 11:20
  in
• 11:20
  that
• 11:21
  stadium,
• 11:21
  to
• 11:21
  put
• 11:22
  on
• 11:22
  that
• 11:22
  uniform
• 11:23
  and
• 11:23
  the
• 11:23
  gold
• 11:24
  helmet,
• 11:25
  walk
• 11:25
  through
• 11:26
  that
• 11:26
  tunnel,
• 11:27
  bang
• 11:28
  the
• 11:28
  sign,
• 11:29
  and
• 11:29
  you
• 11:29
  hear
• 11:30
  the
• 11:30
  first
• 11:30
  strains
• 11:31
  of
• 11:31
  the
• 11:31
  Notre
• 11:32
  Dame
• 11:32
  fight
• 11:32
  song.
• 11:33
  What
• 11:33
  were
• 11:33
  your
• 11:33
  first
• 11:34
  feelings?
• 11:36
  So
• 11:36
  my
• 11:36
  first
• 11:37
  game,
• 11:37
  unfortunately,
• 11:38
  was
• 11:38
  when
• 11:38
  we
• 11:38
  lost
• 11:38
  Marshall
• 11:39
  in
• 11:39
  2022.
• 11:41
  And
• 11:42
  regardless,
• 11:42
  I'll
• 11:43
  never
• 11:43
  forget.
• 11:44
  Just
• 11:45
  you
• 11:45
  dream
• 11:46
  and
• 11:46
  you
• 11:46
  work
• 11:47
  for
• 11:47
  so
• 11:47
  many
• 11:48
  different
• 11:49
  moments
• 11:49
  in
• 11:49
  your
• 11:49
  life
• 11:50
  as
• 11:50
  a
• 11:50
  football
• 11:50
  player.
• 11:51
  And
• 11:51
  when
• 11:52
  I
• 11:52
  ran
• 11:52
  out
• 11:53
  of
• 11:53
  that
• 11:53
  tunnel,
• 11:53
  I
• 11:53
  felt
• 11:53
  at
• 11:54
  peace.
• 11:54
  I
• 11:54
  felt
• 11:55
  at
• 11:55
  home.
• 11:56
  I
• 11:56
  said
• 11:56
  to
• 11:56
  myself,
• 11:57
  wow,
• 11:57
  this
• 11:58
  is
• 11:58
  awesome.
• 11:59
  This
• 11:59
  is
• 11:59
  such
• 12:00
  a
• 12:00
  special
• 12:00
  thing.
• 12:01
  And
• 12:01
  when
• 12:02
  I
• 12:02
  graduated
• 12:03
  about
• 12:03
  two
• 12:03
  weeks,
• 12:04
  about
• 12:04
  three
• 12:04
  weeks
• 12:04
  ago,
• 12:05
  I
• 12:06
  was
• 12:06
  walking
• 12:06
  out
• 12:06
  of
• 12:06
  that
• 12:06
  tunnel
• 12:07
  one
• 12:07
  more
• 12:07
  time
• 12:08
  and
• 12:09
  I
• 12:09
  realized,
• 12:10
  man,
• 12:10
  like,
• 12:11
  I
• 12:11
  take
• 12:11
  the.
• 12:12
  It's
• 12:12
  very
• 12:13
  easy
• 12:13
  to
• 12:13
  take
• 12:13
  this
• 12:13
  for
• 12:13
  granted
• 12:14
  sometimes.
• 12:15
  It
• 12:15
  is
• 12:15
  so,
• 12:15
  so,
• 12:16
  so
• 12:16
  special
• 12:17
  that
• 12:17
  I
• 12:17
  got
• 12:17
  to
• 12:17
  walk
• 12:18
  out
• 12:18
  of
• 12:18
  this
• 12:18
  tunnel
• 12:18
  for
• 12:18
  19
• 12:19
  game
• 12:19
  days
• 12:19
  in
• 12:20
  Notre
• 12:20
  Dame
• 12:20
  Stadium
• 12:21
  and
• 12:22
  start
• 12:22
  seven
• 12:23
  of
• 12:23
  those
• 12:23
  and
• 12:24
  play
• 12:24
  in
• 12:24
  nine.
• 12:24
  It's
• 12:25
  extremely
• 12:26
  special,
• 12:27
  Extremely
• 12:27
  special
• 12:27
  place
• 12:28
  that
• 12:28
  has
• 12:29
  some
• 12:29
  magic
• 12:29
  about
• 12:30
  it
• 12:30
  that
• 12:30
  you
• 12:31
  only,
• 12:31
  you
• 12:31
  know,
• 12:32
  you're
• 12:32
  not
• 12:32
  good.
• 12:32
  You
• 12:33
  really
• 12:33
  can't
• 12:33
  explain.
• 12:34
  Like
• 12:34
  Lou
• 12:34
  Holtz
• 12:35
  would
• 12:35
  say,
• 12:36
  that's
• 12:36
  like
• 12:36
  walking
• 12:37
  out
• 12:37
  Reno
• 12:38
  on
• 12:39
  the
• 12:39
  original
• 12:39
  Yankee
• 12:40
  Stadium
• 12:41
  for
• 12:41
  some
• 12:41
  kid
• 12:42
  doing
• 12:42
  that
• 12:42
  for
• 12:42
  the
• 12:43
  first
• 12:43
  time,
• 12:43
  like
• 12:43
  Derek
• 12:44
  Jeter
• 12:44
  coming
• 12:45
  and
• 12:45
  playing
• 12:45
  in
• 12:45
  the
• 12:45
  old
• 12:46
  Yankee
• 12:46
  Stadium.
• 12:47
  But
• 12:47
  you
• 12:47
  got
• 12:48
  to
• 12:48
  play
• 12:48
  games
• 12:49
  at
• 12:49
  MetLife
• 12:50
  and
• 12:51
  you
• 12:51
  played
• 12:51
  at
• 12:51
  Yankee
• 12:52
  Stadium.
• 12:52
  So
• 12:53
  that
• 12:53
  was
• 12:53
  pretty
• 12:53
  magical.
• 12:55
  Pretty
• 12:55
  magical
• 12:56
  to
• 12:56
  say
• 12:56
  the
• 12:56
  least.
• 12:56
  It's
• 12:57
  funny
• 12:57
  because
• 12:58
  the
• 12:58
  MetLife
• 12:59
  Stadium
• 12:59
  game's
• 13:00
  been
• 13:00
  scheduled
• 13:00
  for
• 13:00
  years
• 13:00
  now.
• 13:01
  So
• 13:01
  when
• 13:01
  I
• 13:01
  committed
• 13:01
  there
• 13:02
  in
• 13:02
  22,
• 13:02
  we
• 13:02
  knew
• 13:03
  we
• 13:03
  were
• 13:03
  going
• 13:03
  to
• 13:03
  play
• 13:03
  there
• 13:03
  in
• 13:04
  24.
• 13:05
  And
• 13:06
  as
• 13:07
  we
• 13:07
  thought,
• 13:08
  we
• 13:08
  ended
• 13:08
  up
• 13:08
  finding
• 13:08
  out
• 13:08
  about
• 13:08
  the
• 13:09
  Yankee
• 13:09
  Stadium
• 13:09
  game
• 13:09
  before
• 13:10
  it
• 13:10
  got
• 13:11
  announced.
• 13:11
  Because
• 13:12
  when
• 13:13
  in
• 13:13
  2023,
• 13:14
  when
• 13:14
  they're
• 13:14
  picking
• 13:14
  what
• 13:15
  bowls
• 13:15
  game
• 13:15
  we're
• 13:15
  going
• 13:15
  to
• 13:16
  go
• 13:16
  to,
• 13:16
  everybody
• 13:17
  wanted
• 13:17
  Notre
• 13:17
  dame
• 13:18
  as
• 13:19
  a
• 13:19
  93
• 13:20
  team
• 13:20
  just
• 13:20
  because
• 13:20
  of
• 13:20
  the
• 13:21
  brand
• 13:21
  and
• 13:21
  the
• 13:21
  draw
• 13:21
  that
• 13:22
  you
• 13:22
  get.
• 13:23
  So
• 13:23
  what
• 13:23
  ended
• 13:23
  up
• 13:23
  happening
• 13:24
  was
• 13:24
  we
• 13:25
  ended
• 13:25
  up
• 13:25
  at
• 13:25
  the
• 13:25
  sun
• 13:25
  bowl,
• 13:26
  but
• 13:26
  in
• 13:26
  the
• 13:26
  Sun
• 13:26
  Bowls
• 13:27
  press
• 13:27
  conference,
• 13:28
  they
• 13:28
  leaked
• 13:29
  the
• 13:29
  game
• 13:29
  that
• 13:29
  we
• 13:29
  were
• 13:30
  playing
• 13:30
  there
• 13:30
  in
• 13:30
  2024,
• 13:31
  saying
• 13:32
  that
• 13:32
  the
• 13:32
  Pinstripe
• 13:33
  bowl
• 13:33
  was
• 13:33
  still
• 13:33
  begging
• 13:33
  to
• 13:34
  get
• 13:34
  Notre
• 13:34
  Dame
• 13:34
  over
• 13:35
  us,
• 13:35
  even
• 13:36
  though
• 13:37
  they're
• 13:37
  going
• 13:37
  to
• 13:38
  play
• 13:38
  there
• 13:38
  next
• 13:38
  season
• 13:39
  and
• 13:40
  that
• 13:40
  I
• 13:41
  started
• 13:41
  doing
• 13:42
  some
• 13:42
  research,
• 13:42
  talked
• 13:42
  to
• 13:43
  some
• 13:43
  people
• 13:43
  in
• 13:43
  our
• 13:43
  football
• 13:43
  office
• 13:44
  and
• 13:44
  they're
• 13:44
  like,
• 13:45
  yep,
• 13:45
  we're
• 13:45
  going
• 13:45
  to
• 13:45
  play
• 13:45
  there.
• 13:46
  So
• 13:47
  I
• 13:47
  was
• 13:47
  able
• 13:47
  to
• 13:47
  tell
• 13:48
  every
• 13:48
  single
• 13:49
  family
• 13:49
  and
• 13:49
  friend
• 13:49
  that
• 13:50
  I
• 13:50
  knew
• 13:50
  that
• 13:50
  we
• 13:50
  were
• 13:50
  playing
• 13:50
  the
• 13:51
  Yankee
• 13:51
  Stadium.
• 13:52
  And
• 13:52
  literally
• 13:53
  like
• 13:53
  my
• 13:53
  high
• 13:54
  school
• 13:54
  coach,
• 13:54
  Coach
• 13:54
  Joe
• 13:55
  Citrano,
• 13:55
  he
• 13:56
  can't.
• 13:56
  He
• 13:56
  plays
• 13:57
  in
• 13:57
  the
• 13:57
  band
• 13:57
  and
• 13:58
  he
• 13:58
  can't.
• 13:58
  He
• 13:58
  said
• 13:59
  no
• 13:59
  to
• 13:59
  playing
• 13:59
  a
• 14:00
  wedding
• 14:00
  that
• 14:00
  day
• 14:01
  because
• 14:02
  it
• 14:02
  basically
• 14:03
  it
• 14:03
  was
• 14:03
  a
• 14:03
  pretty
• 14:03
  big
• 14:04
  event
• 14:04
  for
• 14:05
  any
• 14:05
  all
• 14:05
  my
• 14:05
  family
• 14:06
  and
• 14:06
  friends
• 14:06
  and
• 14:06
  over
• 14:07
  80
• 14:08
  of
• 14:08
  my
• 14:08
  closest
• 14:09
  family,
• 14:09
  friends,
• 14:09
  teachers,
• 14:10
  coaches
• 14:11
  all
• 14:11
  came
• 14:11
  to
• 14:11
  that
• 14:12
  game.
• 14:12
  And
• 14:12
  man
• 14:12
  was
• 14:12
  it
• 14:13
  so
• 14:13
  special.
• 14:14
  What
• 14:14
  a
• 14:14
  special
• 14:14
  night.
• 14:15
  Can't
• 14:15
  beat
• 14:16
  that
• 14:16
  Reno.
• 14:16
  That
• 14:17
  is
• 14:17
  for
• 14:17
  sure.
• 14:18
  Now
• 14:18
  long
• 14:19
  snapping
• 14:20
  why
• 14:21
  and
• 14:21
  how,
• 14:22
  how
• 14:22
  did
• 14:22
  you
• 14:22
  get
• 14:22
  into
• 14:23
  long
• 14:23
  snapping?
• 14:25
  So
• 14:25
  when
• 14:25
  I
• 14:25
  was
• 14:25
  in
• 14:25
  the
• 14:26
  seventh
• 14:26
  grade
• 14:26
  I
• 14:26
  went
• 14:27
  to
• 14:27
  a
• 14:27
  camp
• 14:27
  called
• 14:27
  FDU
• 14:28
  Top
• 14:28
  Gun
• 14:28
  in
• 14:29
  Rock
• 14:29
  Hill,
• 14:29
  South
• 14:29
  Carolina.
• 14:30
  And
• 14:30
  at
• 14:31
  the
• 14:31
  time
• 14:31
  I
• 14:31
  was
• 14:31
  about
• 14:31
  5
• 14:32
  foot
• 14:32
  5,
• 14:33
  115
• 14:34
  pounds
• 14:34
  and
• 14:35
  I
• 14:35
  realized
• 14:36
  I
• 14:36
  am
• 14:36
  not
• 14:36
  going.
• 14:37
  I
• 14:37
  realized
• 14:38
  going
• 14:38
  ver
• 14:38
  as
• 14:38
  a
• 14:38
  defensive
• 14:39
  lineman,
• 14:39
  going
• 14:40
  verse
• 14:40
  playing
• 14:41
  players
• 14:41
  that
• 14:41
  were
• 14:41
  6
• 14:42
  foot
• 14:42
  5
• 14:43
  to
• 14:43
  280
• 14:44
  pounds
• 14:45
  in
• 14:45
  the
• 14:45
  seventh
• 14:45
  grade
• 14:46
  that
• 14:46
  I
• 14:46
  was
• 14:46
  not
• 14:46
  going
• 14:46
  to
• 14:46
  pan
• 14:47
  out
• 14:47
  to
• 14:47
  be
• 14:47
  that
• 14:47
  and
• 14:48
  have
• 14:48
  the
• 14:48
  opportunity
• 14:48
  to
• 14:48
  go
• 14:49
  play
• 14:49
  college
• 14:49
  football.
• 14:50
  The
• 14:50
  goal
• 14:50
  has
• 14:50
  never
• 14:50
  been
• 14:51
  the
• 14:51
  NFL
• 14:51
  because
• 14:52
  NFL
• 14:52
  stands
• 14:52
  for
• 14:52
  not
• 14:53
  for
• 14:53
  long.
• 14:54
  And
• 14:54
  the
• 14:55
  goal
• 14:55
  was
• 14:56
  to
• 14:56
  get
• 14:56
  an
• 14:56
  education
• 14:57
  through
• 14:57
  football.
• 14:58
  And
• 14:58
  I
• 14:58
  said
• 14:58
  how
• 14:58
  can
• 14:59
  I
• 14:59
  do
• 14:59
  that?
• 14:59
  So
• 14:59
  I
• 14:59
  literally
• 15:00
  looked
• 15:00
  up
• 15:00
  online
• 15:00
  what
• 15:01
  is
• 15:01
  with
• 15:02
  hard
• 15:02
  work?
• 15:02
  What
• 15:02
  is
• 15:02
  the
• 15:02
  best
• 15:03
  path
• 15:03
  to
• 15:03
  go
• 15:03
  and
• 15:03
  play
• 15:04
  college
• 15:04
  football?
• 15:05
  And
• 15:06
  I
• 15:06
  had,
• 15:07
  I
• 15:07
  thought
• 15:08
  about
• 15:08
  playing
• 15:08
  court,
• 15:08
  playing
• 15:09
  like
• 15:09
  quarterback,
• 15:09
  I
• 15:10
  thought
• 15:10
  about
• 15:10
  playing
• 15:10
  fullback,
• 15:11
  tight
• 15:11
  end,
• 15:11
  all
• 15:11
  these
• 15:12
  different
• 15:12
  things.
• 15:13
  Finally
• 15:13
  I'll
• 15:13
  never
• 15:13
  forget
• 15:14
  it
• 15:14
  was
• 15:14
  a
• 15:14
  late
• 15:14
  August
• 15:15
  night.
• 15:15
  It's
• 15:15
  like
• 15:16
  I
• 15:16
  had
• 15:16
  like
• 15:16
  practice
• 15:17
  in
• 15:17
  the
• 15:17
  morning
• 15:17
  or
• 15:17
  something.
• 15:17
  I
• 15:18
  finally
• 15:18
  came
• 15:18
  across
• 15:18
  there's
• 15:19
  a
• 15:19
  video
• 15:19
  that
• 15:19
  titled
• 15:20
  how
• 15:20
  to
• 15:20
  long
• 15:21
  snap.
• 15:21
  And
• 15:22
  it
• 15:22
  was
• 15:22
  by
• 15:23
  the
• 15:23
  snapper
• 15:24
  who's
• 15:24
  played
• 15:24
  for
• 15:25
  the
• 15:25
  Patriots
• 15:26
  for
• 15:26
  10
• 15:26
  years
• 15:26
  now,
• 15:27
  Joe
• 15:27
  Cordona,
• 15:28
  who
• 15:28
  played
• 15:28
  in
• 15:28
  Navy
• 15:29
  and
• 15:29
  he
• 15:29
  had
• 15:29
  a
• 15:29
  video
• 15:30
  just
• 15:30
  talking
• 15:30
  about
• 15:30
  the
• 15:31
  fundamentals
• 15:31
  of
• 15:31
  how
• 15:31
  to
• 15:32
  long
• 15:32
  snap.
• 15:33
  And
• 15:33
  little
• 15:33
  do
• 15:33
  we
• 15:33
  know
• 15:34
  that
• 15:34
  video
• 15:34
  is
• 15:34
  the
• 15:34
  reason
• 15:34
  why
• 15:35
  I'm
• 15:35
  talking
• 15:35
  to
• 15:36
  you
• 15:36
  today,
• 15:36
  Bill.
• 15:37
  And
• 15:37
  it
• 15:37
  changed
• 15:37
  my
• 15:37
  life
• 15:38
  and
• 15:38
  I
• 15:39
  self
• 15:39
  taught
• 15:39
  myself
• 15:39
  for
• 15:40
  a
• 15:40
  year,
• 15:40
  started
• 15:40
  going
• 15:41
  to
• 15:41
  camps
• 15:41
  and
• 15:41
  basically
• 15:42
  devoted
• 15:42
  my
• 15:42
  whole
• 15:42
  entire
• 15:43
  life
• 15:43
  to
• 15:44
  being
• 15:44
  the
• 15:44
  best
• 15:44
  long
• 15:45
  snapper
• 15:45
  I
• 15:45
  could
• 15:45
  possibly
• 15:46
  be.
• 15:46
  And
• 15:46
  now
• 15:47
  I'm
• 15:47
  going
• 15:47
  into
• 15:47
  year
• 15:48
  10
• 15:49
  of
• 15:50
  being
• 15:50
  a
• 15:50
  long
• 15:50
  snapper.
• 15:51
  And
• 15:51
  the
• 15:51
  journey
• 15:52
  has
• 15:52
  not
• 15:52
  been
• 15:52
  easy
• 15:53
  for
• 15:53
  sure.
• 15:53
  But
• 15:54
  it's
• 15:54
  special
• 15:55
  that
• 15:55
  I
• 15:56
  am
• 15:56
  a
• 15:56
  that
• 15:56
  because
• 15:57
  of
• 15:57
  that
• 15:57
  one
• 15:57
  video
• 15:58
  that
• 15:58
  this
• 15:58
  guy
• 15:58
  made
• 15:59
  that
• 15:59
  he
• 15:59
  thought
• 15:59
  was
• 15:59
  never
• 16:00
  going
• 16:00
  to
• 16:00
  have
• 16:00
  an
• 16:00
  impact,
• 16:00
  but
• 16:01
  maybe
• 16:01
  he
• 16:01
  did,
• 16:02
  I
• 16:02
  don't
• 16:02
  know,
• 16:02
  but
• 16:03
  maybe
• 16:03
  he
• 16:03
  thought
• 16:04
  it
• 16:04
  would
• 16:04
  never
• 16:04
  have
• 16:04
  an
• 16:04
  impact
• 16:04
  on
• 16:05
  anybody.
• 16:05
  Had
• 16:06
  a
• 16:06
  pretty
• 16:06
  large
• 16:06
  impact
• 16:06
  on
• 16:07
  my
• 16:07
  life,
• 16:07
  and
• 16:08
  it's
• 16:08
  the
• 16:08
  reason
• 16:08
  why
• 16:09
  I'm
• 16:09
  standing.
• 16:09
  I
• 16:09
  get
• 16:10
  to
• 16:10
  talk
• 16:10
  to
• 16:10
  you
• 16:10
  today
• 16:11
  as
• 16:11
  Notre
• 16:11
  Dame
• 16:12
  graduate,
• 16:12
  now
• 16:12
  Cal
• 16:12
  football
• 16:13
  player.
• 16:13
  You
• 16:14
  never
• 16:14
  know
• 16:14
  how
• 16:15
  something
• 16:16
  like
• 16:16
  that
• 16:16
  is
• 16:16
  going
• 16:17
  to
• 16:17
  impact
• 16:17
  the
• 16:17
  lives
• 16:18
  of
• 16:18
  other
• 16:18
  people.
• 16:19
  And
• 16:19
  as
• 16:20
  you
• 16:20
  clearly
• 16:20
  point
• 16:21
  out,
• 16:22
  that
• 16:22
  video
• 16:23
  really
• 16:23
  had
• 16:24
  an
• 16:24
  effect
• 16:24
  on
• 16:24
  you.
• 16:25
  Now
• 16:25
  we're
• 16:26
  talking
• 16:26
  Areno
• 16:26
  Monteforte
• 16:27
  tonight
• 16:28
  on
• 16:28
  Sports
• 16:28
  Talk
• 16:29
  New
• 16:29
  York.
• 16:29
  Now,
• 16:30
  what
• 16:30
  do
• 16:30
  you
• 16:30
  say,
• 16:30
  Reno,
• 16:31
  to
• 16:31
  people
• 16:31
  who,
• 16:31
  who
• 16:32
  maybe
• 16:32
  disparage
• 16:33
  long
• 16:34
  snapping
• 16:34
  that
• 16:35
  say,
• 16:35
  oh,
• 16:35
  yeah,
• 16:36
  you're
• 16:36
  on
• 16:36
  the
• 16:36
  football
• 16:36
  team,
• 16:37
  but
• 16:37
  you're
• 16:37
  a
• 16:37
  long
• 16:38
  snap.
• 16:38
  But
• 16:38
  you're
• 16:39
  a
• 16:39
  long
• 16:39
  snapper.
• 16:40
  You
• 16:40
  know,
• 16:41
  what
• 16:41
  do
• 16:41
  you
• 16:41
  tell
• 16:41
  those
• 16:42
  people?
• 16:44
  I
• 16:44
  tell
• 16:44
  everyone
• 16:44
  this.
• 16:45
  When
• 16:45
  we
• 16:45
  went
• 16:45
  to
• 16:46
  the
• 16:46
  Sugar
• 16:47
  bowl,
• 16:47
  when
• 16:47
  we
• 16:47
  went
• 16:47
  to
• 16:47
  the
• 16:47
  Orange
• 16:48
  bowl
• 16:48
  and
• 16:48
  we
• 16:48
  went
• 16:48
  to
• 16:48
  the
• 16:48
  national
• 16:49
  championship,
• 16:50
  everybody
• 16:50
  get.
• 16:50
  They
• 16:51
  give
• 16:51
  the
• 16:51
  players
• 16:51
  gifts
• 16:52
  and,
• 16:52
  like
• 16:52
  gift
• 16:53
  suites
• 16:53
  and
• 16:53
  everything,
• 16:53
  right?
• 16:54
  And
• 16:54
  starting
• 16:55
  quarterback
• 16:55
  gets
• 16:56
  the
• 16:56
  same
• 16:56
  gifts
• 16:56
  that
• 16:56
  the
• 16:57
  starting
• 16:57
  long
• 16:57
  snapper
• 16:57
  gets.
• 16:58
  Starting
• 16:59
  quarterback
• 16:59
  eats
• 17:00
  the
• 17:00
  same
• 17:00
  food
• 17:00
  that
• 17:00
  the
• 17:00
  starting
• 17:01
  long
• 17:01
  snapper
• 17:01
  gets,
• 17:03
  and
• 17:03
  the
• 17:03
  starting
• 17:04
  quarterback
• 17:04
  gets
• 17:04
  the
• 17:04
  same
• 17:04
  degree
• 17:05
  that
• 17:05
  the
• 17:05
  starting
• 17:06
  long
• 17:06
  snapper
• 17:06
  gets.
• 17:07
  Again,
• 17:08
  nobody
• 17:08
  is
• 17:09
  going
• 17:09
  to
• 17:09
  recognize
• 17:09
  you
• 17:09
  until
• 17:10
  you
• 17:10
  mess
• 17:10
  up,
• 17:10
  which
• 17:11
  is
• 17:11
  the
• 17:11
  caveat
• 17:12
  of
• 17:12
  it
• 17:12
  all.
• 17:13
  And
• 17:14
  you
• 17:14
  understand
• 17:14
  that
• 17:15
  going
• 17:15
  into
• 17:17
  games
• 17:17
  and
• 17:17
  seasons
• 17:18
  like,
• 17:19
  the
• 17:19
  goal
• 17:19
  for
• 17:19
  everyone,
• 17:20
  Long
• 17:20
  island
• 17:20
  listening
• 17:21
  right
• 17:21
  now
• 17:21
  should
• 17:21
  be
• 17:22
  that
• 17:22
  you
• 17:23
  hear
• 17:23
  me
• 17:23
  right
• 17:23
  now,
• 17:23
  you
• 17:23
  probably
• 17:24
  shouldn't
• 17:24
  hear
• 17:24
  my
• 17:24
  name
• 17:26
  for
• 17:26
  at
• 17:26
  least
• 17:27
  another
• 17:27
  year.
• 17:28
  That's
• 17:28
  the
• 17:28
  goal.
• 17:28
  Because
• 17:29
  that
• 17:29
  means
• 17:29
  I'm
• 17:29
  doing
• 17:29
  my
• 17:30
  job
• 17:30
  correctly.
• 17:31
  And
• 17:32
  there's
• 17:32
  a
• 17:32
  lot
• 17:32
  of
• 17:32
  internal
• 17:33
  and
• 17:34
  external,
• 17:34
  even,
• 17:35
  you
• 17:35
  know,
• 17:35
  like
• 17:36
  negativity
• 17:36
  and
• 17:37
  pressure
• 17:37
  that
• 17:37
  sometimes
• 17:38
  creep
• 17:38
  in
• 17:38
  and
• 17:39
  such.
• 17:40
  But
• 17:40
  at
• 17:40
  the
• 17:40
  end
• 17:40
  of
• 17:41
  the
• 17:41
  day,
• 17:41
  I
• 17:41
  don't
• 17:41
  need
• 17:41
  to
• 17:41
  prove
• 17:41
  anything
• 17:42
  to
• 17:43
  anyone
• 17:44
  because
• 17:44
  at
• 17:44
  the
• 17:44
  end
• 17:45
  of
• 17:45
  the
• 17:45
  day,
• 17:45
  I
• 17:45
  know
• 17:45
  the
• 17:46
  work
• 17:46
  that
• 17:46
  I
• 17:46
  put
• 17:46
  in
• 17:47
  and
• 17:47
  when
• 17:48
  I
• 17:48
  can
• 17:48
  help
• 17:48
  my
• 17:49
  team
• 17:49
  make
• 17:50
  field
• 17:50
  goals,
• 17:50
  make
• 17:51
  extra
• 17:51
  points
• 17:51
  and
• 17:52
  snap
• 17:52
  good
• 17:52
  punts,
• 17:53
  that
• 17:53
  is
• 17:54
  important
• 17:54
  to
• 17:55
  me.
• 17:55
  And
• 17:56
  when
• 17:57
  those
• 17:57
  numbers
• 17:57
  are
• 17:58
  good
• 17:58
  and
• 17:58
  we're
• 17:58
  helping
• 17:58
  our
• 17:59
  team
• 17:59
  win
• 17:59
  games,
• 18:00
  I
• 18:00
  don't
• 18:00
  need
• 18:00
  any
• 18:00
  recognition.
• 18:01
  I
• 18:02
  just
• 18:02
  get
• 18:02
  to
• 18:02
  be
• 18:02
  along
• 18:03
  for
• 18:03
  the
• 18:03
  ride.
• 18:03
  It's
• 18:04
  pretty
• 18:04
  cool.
• 18:04
  Yeah.
• 18:05
  And
• 18:05
  that's
• 18:05
  a
• 18:05
  great
• 18:05
  lesson
• 18:06
  for
• 18:06
  you
• 18:06
  kids
• 18:06
  listening
• 18:07
  out
• 18:07
  there.
• 18:08
  When
• 18:08
  Reno's
• 18:09
  name
• 18:09
  is
• 18:09
  mentioned,
• 18:10
  it's
• 18:10
  usually
• 18:11
  it
• 18:11
  could
• 18:11
  be
• 18:11
  because
• 18:12
  he
• 18:12
  hosed
• 18:12
  something
• 18:13
  up.
• 18:13
  And
• 18:15
  that's
• 18:15
  the
• 18:15
  thing
• 18:15
  to
• 18:15
  remember.
• 18:16
  Your
• 18:16
  name's
• 18:17
  not
• 18:17
  mentioned.
• 18:18
  That's
• 18:18
  a
• 18:18
  good
• 18:18
  thing.
• 18:19
  That
• 18:19
  means
• 18:20
  that
• 18:20
  you're
• 18:20
  playing
• 18:20
  well
• 18:21
  and
• 18:21
  you're
• 18:21
  doing
• 18:21
  your
• 18:21
  job.
• 18:22
  Now
• 18:23
  who
• 18:23
  do
• 18:23
  you
• 18:23
  consider
• 18:24
  a
• 18:24
  guy
• 18:24
  who
• 18:24
  legitimized
• 18:25
  long
• 18:26
  snapping?
• 18:26
  Maybe
• 18:26
  in
• 18:27
  college
• 18:27
  or
• 18:27
  in
• 18:27
  the
• 18:27
  NFL?
• 18:28
  Reno?
• 18:29
  I
• 18:30
  wouldn't
• 18:30
  say
• 18:30
  that
• 18:30
  there's
• 18:31
  one
• 18:31
  person
• 18:32
  I
• 18:33
  my
• 18:33
  idol
• 18:34
  would
• 18:34
  be
• 18:34
  Zach
• 18:35
  Piassi
• 18:35
  who
• 18:35
  did
• 18:36
  it
• 18:36
  for
• 18:36
  the
• 18:36
  Giants
• 18:36
  for
• 18:36
  so
• 18:37
  long
• 18:37
  and
• 18:37
  his
• 18:37
  dad
• 18:38
  did
• 18:38
  it
• 18:38
  as
• 18:38
  well,
• 18:38
  right?
• 18:40
  He
• 18:41
  is
• 18:41
  one
• 18:41
  of
• 18:41
  my
• 18:41
  favorites.
• 18:42
  You
• 18:42
  know,
• 18:42
  I
• 18:42
  joke
• 18:43
  with
• 18:43
  everyone
• 18:43
  since
• 18:43
  Eli
• 18:44
  Manning
• 18:44
  stopped
• 18:44
  playing
• 18:44
  for
• 18:44
  the
• 18:44
  Giants,
• 18:45
  the
• 18:45
  only
• 18:45
  jersey
• 18:45
  I'll
• 18:45
  wear
• 18:46
  around
• 18:46
  is
• 18:47
  a
• 18:47
  Zach
• 18:48
  Diassi
• 18:48
  jersey.
• 18:49
  But
• 18:50
  I
• 18:50
  love
• 18:50
  him
• 18:51
  and
• 18:51
  the
• 18:51
  way
• 18:51
  he
• 18:51
  went
• 18:52
  about
• 18:52
  his
• 18:52
  work.
• 18:53
  Patrick
• 18:53
  Manley
• 18:54
  is
• 18:54
  another
• 18:55
  one
• 18:55
  who
• 18:55
  played
• 18:55
  for
• 18:55
  the
• 18:56
  Chicago
• 18:56
  Bears
• 18:56
  for
• 18:56
  many
• 18:56
  years.
• 18:57
  The
• 18:57
  college
• 18:57
  Long
• 18:58
  Snapper
• 18:58
  of
• 18:58
  the
• 18:58
  Year
• 18:58
  award.
• 18:59
  So
• 18:59
  you
• 18:59
  think
• 18:59
  about
• 18:59
  the
• 18:59
  Heisman
• 19:00
  for
• 19:00
  long
• 19:00
  snappers.
• 19:01
  It's
• 19:01
  called
• 19:01
  the
• 19:01
  Patrick
• 19:02
  Manley
• 19:02
  Award.
• 19:03
  He's
• 19:04
  definitely
• 19:04
  someone
• 19:05
  who's
• 19:05
  legitimate
• 19:06
  legitimatized
• 19:07
  long
• 19:07
  snapping
• 19:08
  over
• 19:08
  the
• 19:08
  years.
• 19:09
  And
• 19:09
  again,
• 19:10
  it's
• 19:10
  really
• 19:11
  all
• 19:11
  these
• 19:11
  NFL
• 19:12
  coaches
• 19:12
  that
• 19:14
  they
• 19:14
  a
• 19:14
  roster
• 19:15
  spot
• 19:15
  on
• 19:15
  a
• 19:15
  53
• 19:16
  man
• 19:16
  roster,
• 19:17
  right.
• 19:17
  Of
• 19:17
  32
• 19:18
  teams,
• 19:18
  however
• 19:18
  many
• 19:19
  spots
• 19:19
  that
• 19:19
  is,
• 19:20
  there's
• 19:20
  one,
• 19:20
  there's
• 19:21
  32
• 19:21
  jobs
• 19:21
  in
• 19:21
  the
• 19:22
  NFL
• 19:22
  and
• 19:24
  be
• 19:24
  a
• 19:24
  long
• 19:24
  snapper.
• 19:25
  And
• 19:25
  that's
• 19:25
  why
• 19:26
  it's
• 19:26
  so
• 19:26
  hard
• 19:26
  to
• 19:26
  make
• 19:27
  it
• 19:27
  to
• 19:27
  the
• 19:27
  NFL
• 19:27
  as
• 19:28
  a
• 19:28
  long
• 19:28
  snapper.
• 19:28
  Because
• 19:30
  when
• 19:30
  you're
• 19:30
  a
• 19:31
  quarterback
• 19:31
  coming
• 19:31
  out
• 19:31
  right,
• 19:32
  every
• 19:32
  team
• 19:32
  is
• 19:32
  back
• 19:32
  quarterback,
• 19:33
  every
• 19:33
  team
• 19:33
  has
• 19:33
  a
• 19:33
  third
• 19:33
  string
• 19:34
  quarterback.
• 19:34
  Some
• 19:34
  teams
• 19:34
  even
• 19:35
  have
• 19:35
  a
• 19:35
  fourth
• 19:35
  quarterback.
• 19:36
  Whereas
• 19:37
  you're
• 19:37
  only
• 19:37
  there's
• 19:38
  you.
• 19:39
  When
• 19:39
  I
• 19:39
  leave
• 19:39
  college
• 19:40
  there's
• 19:40
  32
• 19:40
  jobs
• 19:41
  that
• 19:41
  are
• 19:41
  taken
• 19:41
  up
• 19:41
  by
• 19:42
  32
• 19:42
  people.
• 19:42
  Unless
• 19:43
  someone
• 19:43
  retires
• 19:44
  or
• 19:44
  they're
• 19:45
  willing
• 19:45
  to
• 19:46
  or
• 19:47
  someone
• 19:47
  gets
• 19:47
  hurt
• 19:47
  or
• 19:48
  whatever.
• 19:48
  Like
• 19:49
  you
• 19:49
  have
• 19:49
  to
• 19:49
  go
• 19:49
  and
• 19:50
  take
• 19:50
  a
• 19:51
  job
• 19:51
  from
• 19:51
  somebody.
• 19:52
  And
• 19:52
  it's
• 19:52
  very
• 19:53
  hard
• 19:53
  to
• 19:54
  just
• 19:54
  be
• 19:54
  given
• 19:54
  a
• 19:54
  job
• 19:55
  the
• 19:55
  way
• 19:55
  a
• 19:55
  quarterback
• 19:56
  or
• 19:56
  a
• 19:56
  lineman
• 19:56
  or
• 19:57
  something
• 19:57
  of
• 19:57
  those
• 19:57
  sorts
• 19:58
  is
• 19:58
  given.
• 19:59
  So
• 19:59
  again,
• 20:00
  I'd
• 20:01
  say
• 20:01
  the
• 20:01
  fact
• 20:02
  that
• 20:02
  you
• 20:02
  get
• 20:02
  there's
• 20:03
  a
• 20:03
  full
• 20:03
  roster
• 20:04
  spot
• 20:04
  on
• 20:05
  NFL
• 20:05
  team,
• 20:05
  it's
• 20:06
  really
• 20:06
  thanks
• 20:06
  to,
• 20:07
  you
• 20:07
  know,
• 20:07
  the
• 20:07
  many
• 20:07
  NFL
• 20:08
  special
• 20:08
  teams
• 20:08
  coaches
• 20:09
  that
• 20:09
  will
• 20:10
  not
• 20:10
  go
• 20:10
  to
• 20:10
  a
• 20:11
  position
• 20:11
  player
• 20:11
  or
• 20:12
  a
• 20:12
  long
• 20:12
  snapper
• 20:12
  because
• 20:13
  there's
• 20:13
  a
• 20:13
  whole
• 20:13
  community
• 20:14
  that
• 20:15
  so
• 20:15
  much
• 20:15
  bigger
• 20:16
  than
• 20:16
  people
• 20:16
  realize
• 20:17
  of
• 20:17
  long
• 20:17
  snappers
• 20:18
  out
• 20:18
  there
• 20:19
  that
• 20:19
  is
• 20:20
  that
• 20:21
  works
• 20:21
  their
• 20:21
  butts
• 20:21
  off
• 20:22
  year
• 20:22
  in,
• 20:22
  year
• 20:22
  out
• 20:22
  for
• 20:23
  those
• 20:23
  opportunities.
• 20:23
  And
• 20:24
  it's
• 20:24
  truly
• 20:24
  awesome
• 20:25
  to
• 20:25
  see
• 20:25
  it
• 20:26
  all.
• 20:26
  Another
• 20:26
  great
• 20:27
  lesson
• 20:27
  for
• 20:27
  you
• 20:28
  kids
• 20:28
  out
• 20:28
  there,
• 20:29
  if
• 20:29
  you
• 20:30
  may
• 20:30
  not
• 20:30
  have
• 20:30
  the
• 20:31
  size,
• 20:31
  if
• 20:31
  you're
• 20:31
  not
• 20:32
  6,
• 20:32
  5,
• 20:32
  300
• 20:33
  pounds,
• 20:34
  there
• 20:34
  is
• 20:35
  a
• 20:35
  spot
• 20:35
  for
• 20:35
  you.
• 20:35
  There's
• 20:36
  something
• 20:36
  for
• 20:36
  you
• 20:37
  to
• 20:37
  do
• 20:37
  on
• 20:38
  a
• 20:38
  football
• 20:38
  field
• 20:39
  and
• 20:39
  Reno
• 20:40
  is
• 20:40
  the
• 20:40
  perfect
• 20:40
  example
• 20:41
  of
• 20:41
  that.
• 20:41
  Now
• 20:42
  Reno,
• 20:43
  you're
• 20:43
  probably
• 20:43
  going
• 20:44
  to
• 20:44
  be
• 20:44
  remembered
• 20:44
  by
• 20:45
  a
• 20:45
  lot
• 20:45
  of
• 20:45
  people
• 20:45
  for
• 20:46
  the
• 20:46
  snap
• 20:46
  on
• 20:47
  Jeter's
• 20:48
  field
• 20:48
  goal
• 20:49
  that
• 20:49
  sent
• 20:50
  the
• 20:50
  Fighting
• 20:50
  Irish
• 20:50
  to
• 20:51
  the
• 20:51
  championship
• 20:52
  game
• 20:53
  in
• 20:53
  the
• 20:53
  Orange
• 20:54
  Pole
• 20:54
  against
• 20:55
  Penn
• 20:55
  State.
• 20:56
  What
• 20:56
  was
• 20:56
  going
• 20:56
  through
• 20:57
  your
• 20:57
  mind
• 20:59
  before
• 20:59
  you
• 21:00
  got
• 21:00
  rid
• 21:00
  of
• 21:00
  that
• 21:01
  ball?
• 21:03
  So
• 21:03
  just
• 21:03
  to
• 21:03
  take
• 21:03
  you
• 21:04
  back
• 21:04
  a
• 21:04
  couple
• 21:04
  hours
• 21:05
  before,
• 21:05
  I
• 21:05
  had
• 21:05
  the
• 21:06
  flu
• 21:06
  miserably
• 21:07
  for
• 21:07
  that
• 21:07
  game
• 21:08
  and
• 21:09
  I
• 21:09
  was
• 21:10
  beyond
• 21:10
  sick.
• 21:12
  Where
• 21:12
  I
• 21:12
  didn't
• 21:13
  practice
• 21:13
  on
• 21:13
  Monday,
• 21:14
  Tuesday,
• 21:15
  I
• 21:15
  had
• 21:16
  to
• 21:17
  climb
• 21:17
  up
• 21:17
  my
• 21:17
  Motrin
• 21:18
  properly
• 21:19
  so
• 21:19
  I
• 21:19
  could
• 21:20
  practice
• 21:20
  and
• 21:21
  go
• 21:21
  on
• 21:21
  the
• 21:21
  plane
• 21:22
  without
• 21:22
  shivering
• 21:24
  from
• 21:24
  fever,
• 21:24
  chills
• 21:25
  and
• 21:26
  practice
• 21:27
  Tuesday,
• 21:27
  barely,
• 21:29
  literally,
• 21:30
  I
• 21:30
  was
• 21:30
  quarantined
• 21:31
  in
• 21:31
  a
• 21:31
  sick
• 21:32
  room
• 21:32
  away
• 21:32
  from
• 21:32
  everybody
• 21:33
  else.
• 21:33
  Then
• 21:33
  was
• 21:34
  up
• 21:34
  at
• 21:34
  4am
• 21:35
  throwing
• 21:36
  up
• 21:36
  the
• 21:36
  morning
• 21:36
  of
• 21:36
  the
• 21:37
  game.
• 21:37
  And
• 21:38
  I
• 21:38
  was
• 21:39
  super,
• 21:39
  super,
• 21:40
  super
• 21:40
  nervous
• 21:41
  just
• 21:41
  because
• 21:42
  I
• 21:42
  had
• 21:43
  to
• 21:43
  go.
• 21:43
  I
• 21:44
  have
• 21:44
  the
• 21:44
  same
• 21:44
  routine
• 21:45
  for
• 21:45
  every
• 21:45
  game
• 21:45
  for
• 21:45
  the
• 21:46
  last
• 21:46
  three
• 21:46
  years.
• 21:47
  And
• 21:47
  this
• 21:47
  is
• 21:47
  the
• 21:47
  first
• 21:47
  time
• 21:48
  that
• 21:48
  I
• 21:49
  went
• 21:49
  out
• 21:49
  of
• 21:49
  routine
• 21:50
  because
• 21:51
  I
• 21:51
  had
• 21:51
  to,
• 21:51
  because
• 21:51
  I
• 21:51
  physically
• 21:52
  wasn't
• 21:52
  able
• 21:52
  to.
• 21:53
  But
• 21:53
  at
• 21:53
  that
• 21:53
  same
• 21:53
  time,
• 21:54
  how
• 21:55
  many
• 21:55
  other
• 21:55
  times
• 21:56
  are
• 21:56
  you
• 21:56
  physically
• 21:56
  going
• 21:57
  to
• 21:57
  be
• 21:57
  able
• 21:57
  to
• 21:58
  have
• 21:58
  the
• 21:58
  opportunity
• 21:59
  to
• 21:59
  play
• 22:00
  in
• 22:00
  the
• 22:00
  Orange
• 22:00
  bowl
• 22:01
  in
• 22:01
  the
• 22:01
  playoff
• 22:01
  semifinal
• 22:02
  for
• 22:02
  the
• 22:02
  opportunity
• 22:03
  to
• 22:03
  go
• 22:03
  play
• 22:03
  for
• 22:03
  a
• 22:03
  national
• 22:04
  championship?
• 22:04
  Not
• 22:04
  many.
• 22:05
  If
• 22:05
  not
• 22:06
  that
• 22:06
  was,
• 22:07
  that
• 22:07
  would
• 22:07
  probably
• 22:08
  be
• 22:08
  my
• 22:08
  only
• 22:08
  opportunity.
• 22:09
  And
• 22:10
  it
• 22:10
  was
• 22:10
  just
• 22:10
  a
• 22:11
  combination
• 22:11
  of
• 22:11
  the
• 22:11
  team
• 22:12
  doctors
• 22:12
  putting
• 22:13
  the
• 22:13
  right
• 22:13
  meds
• 22:13
  into
• 22:13
  me,
• 22:14
  me
• 22:14
  pacing
• 22:14
  myself
• 22:15
  a
• 22:15
  different
• 22:15
  way
• 22:15
  than
• 22:15
  I
• 22:15
  won
• 22:16
  a
• 22:16
  game
• 22:16
  day,
• 22:16
  making
• 22:17
  sure
• 22:17
  that
• 22:18
  like
• 22:18
  even
• 22:19
  though
• 22:19
  it
• 22:19
  was
• 22:19
  In
• 22:19
  Miami,
• 22:19
  Florida,
• 22:20
  60
• 22:20
  degrees
• 22:20
  in
• 22:21
  January,
• 22:21
  still
• 22:22
  wearing
• 22:22
  a
• 22:22
  hand
• 22:22
  warmer
• 22:22
  because
• 22:23
  my
• 22:23
  fever
• 22:23
  was
• 22:23
  going
• 22:24
  up
• 22:24
  and
• 22:24
  up
• 22:24
  and
• 22:24
  up
• 22:25
  as
• 22:25
  the
• 22:25
  game
• 22:25
  got
• 22:25
  longer,
• 22:26
  longer,
• 22:26
  longer,
• 22:27
  and
• 22:28
  as
• 22:28
  we
• 22:28
  got
• 22:28
  ready
• 22:29
  for
• 22:29
  that
• 22:29
  snap,
• 22:30
  dogging
• 22:30
  onto
• 22:31
  the
• 22:31
  field.
• 22:31
  And
• 22:31
  I
• 22:32
  felt,
• 22:32
  you
• 22:32
  felt
• 22:32
  the
• 22:33
  moment.
• 22:33
  You
• 22:33
  felt
• 22:34
  that
• 22:34
  this
• 22:34
  is
• 22:34
  something
• 22:35
  that's
• 22:35
  going
• 22:35
  to
• 22:35
  be
• 22:35
  remembered
• 22:36
  forever.
• 22:36
  And
• 22:37
  I
• 22:37
  remember
• 22:37
  looking
• 22:37
  back
• 22:38
  at
• 22:38
  my
• 22:38
  holder
• 22:38
  and
• 22:38
  I
• 22:38
  said
• 22:39
  to
• 22:39
  myself,
• 22:39
  I'm
• 22:39
  built
• 22:40
  for
• 22:40
  this.
• 22:40
  And
• 22:40
  I
• 22:40
  think
• 22:41
  back
• 22:41
  to
• 22:41
  the
• 22:41
  little
• 22:41
  kid
• 22:42
  who
• 22:42
  was
• 22:42
  staying
• 22:43
  up
• 22:43
  late
• 22:43
  at
• 22:43
  night
• 22:43
  past
• 22:44
  when
• 22:44
  he
• 22:44
  probably
• 22:44
  should
• 22:44
  have
• 22:44
  been
• 22:45
  on
• 22:45
  his
• 22:45
  phone
• 22:45
  night
• 22:46
  before
• 22:46
  school
• 22:46
  at
• 22:47
  practice
• 22:47
  or
• 22:47
  whatever,
• 22:48
  and
• 22:49
  watch
• 22:49
  that
• 22:49
  video
• 22:50
  about
• 22:50
  how
• 22:50
  to
• 22:50
  long
• 22:50
  snap,
• 22:51
  about
• 22:51
  long
• 22:51
  snapping
• 22:52
  and
• 22:52
  has
• 22:53
  made
• 22:53
  it
• 22:53
  his
• 22:53
  life
• 22:53
  for
• 22:53
  the
• 22:54
  last
• 22:54
  nine
• 22:54
  years.
• 22:54
  And
• 22:54
  all
• 22:55
  the
• 22:55
  different
• 22:55
  things
• 22:55
  I
• 22:55
  had
• 22:55
  to
• 22:55
  go
• 22:56
  through,
• 22:56
  injuries,
• 22:58
  doubters,
• 22:58
  people
• 22:59
  telling
• 22:59
  me
• 22:59
  that
• 22:59
  I
• 22:59
  wasn't
• 23:00
  good
• 23:00
  enough,
• 23:00
  wasn't
• 23:00
  big
• 23:01
  enough,
• 23:01
  wasn't
• 23:01
  strong
• 23:01
  enough,
• 23:02
  all
• 23:02
  these
• 23:02
  different
• 23:03
  things
• 23:03
  was
• 23:04
  all
• 23:04
  that,
• 23:04
  that
• 23:04
  I
• 23:05
  went
• 23:05
  through
• 23:05
  was
• 23:05
  for
• 23:05
  that
• 23:06
  moment
• 23:06
  right
• 23:06
  then
• 23:06
  and
• 23:07
  there.
• 23:07
  And
• 23:08
  after
• 23:08
  that
• 23:08
  I
• 23:08
  blacked
• 23:09
  out
• 23:09
  completely.
• 23:09
  I
• 23:10
  don't,
• 23:10
  I
• 23:10
  couldn't
• 23:10
  tell
• 23:10
  you
• 23:11
  what
• 23:11
  I
• 23:11
  felt
• 23:11
  on
• 23:12
  the
• 23:12
  ball.
• 23:12
  I
• 23:12
  can't
• 23:13
  tell
• 23:13
  you
• 23:13
  what
• 23:13
  the
• 23:13
  ball,
• 23:14
  what
• 23:14
  the
• 23:14
  ball
• 23:14
  looked
• 23:14
  like.
• 23:15
  I
• 23:15
  just
• 23:15
  know
• 23:16
  that
• 23:17
  a
• 23:17
  minute
• 23:18
  after
• 23:18
  the
• 23:18
  fact,
• 23:18
  one
• 23:19
  of
• 23:19
  our
• 23:20
  offensive
• 23:20
  GA's,
• 23:21
  Harrison
• 23:21
  Biven
• 23:22
  jumped
• 23:22
  on
• 23:22
  top
• 23:23
  of
• 23:23
  me
• 23:23
  and
• 23:23
  gave
• 23:23
  me
• 23:23
  a
• 23:23
  hug
• 23:24
  and
• 23:25
  I
• 23:25
  woke
• 23:25
  up
• 23:25
  from
• 23:26
  like
• 23:26
  this
• 23:26
  blackout
• 23:27
  sleep,
• 23:27
  I
• 23:27
  guess,
• 23:28
  and
• 23:28
  I
• 23:29
  realized,
• 23:30
  wow,
• 23:30
  we're
• 23:30
  going
• 23:30
  to
• 23:31
  the
• 23:31
  national
• 23:31
  championship.
• 23:32
  And
• 23:32
  it's
• 23:33
  one
• 23:33
  of
• 23:33
  the
• 23:34
  coolest
• 23:34
  moments
• 23:35
  of
• 23:35
  my
• 23:36
  football
• 23:36
  career
• 23:37
  and
• 23:37
  I'm
• 23:37
  never
• 23:38
  going
• 23:38
  to
• 23:38
  forget
• 23:38
  that.
• 23:39
  And
• 23:39
  again,
• 23:41
  for
• 23:41
  everyone
• 23:41
  who,
• 23:42
  for
• 23:42
  the
• 23:43
  500
• 23:43
  some
• 23:43
  thousands
• 23:44
  of
• 23:44
  people
• 23:44
  that
• 23:44
  tweeted
• 23:45
  about
• 23:45
  Mick
• 23:46
  Jeter's
• 23:46
  perfect
• 23:46
  kicks,
• 23:47
  my
• 23:47
  hundred
• 23:48
  text
• 23:48
  messages
• 23:48
  were
• 23:49
  just
• 23:49
  as
• 23:49
  gratifying,
• 23:50
  saying.
• 23:50
  That
• 23:50
  I
• 23:50
  had
• 23:50
  a
• 23:50
  good
• 23:51
  snap,
• 23:52
  guts
• 23:53
  and
• 23:53
  determination
• 23:54
  to
• 23:54
  step
• 23:55
  up
• 23:55
  in
• 23:55
  that
• 23:55
  situation.
• 23:56
  Reno
• 23:57
  and
• 23:57
  it
• 23:57
  reminds
• 23:58
  me
• 23:58
  what
• 23:58
  you
• 23:58
  said
• 23:58
  about
• 23:59
  you
• 23:59
  were
• 23:59
  made
• 23:59
  for
• 24:00
  that
• 24:00
  moment
• 24:01
  Herb
• 24:02
  Brooks
• 24:02
  speech
• 24:03
  to
• 24:03
  the
• 24:04
  US
• 24:05
  Olympic
• 24:05
  hockey
• 24:06
  team
• 24:06
  back
• 24:06
  in
• 24:06
  1980
• 24:07
  when
• 24:08
  they
• 24:08
  beat
• 24:08
  the
• 24:08
  Soviets
• 24:09
  that
• 24:09
  night.
• 24:10
  You
• 24:10
  were
• 24:10
  born
• 24:11
  for
• 24:11
  this,
• 24:12
  the
• 24:13
  exact
• 24:13
  theme
• 24:14
  of
• 24:14
  his
• 24:14
  speech.
• 24:15
  And
• 24:16
  that's
• 24:16
  what
• 24:16
  you
• 24:16
  just
• 24:17
  told
• 24:17
  us.
• 24:19
  Yeah,
• 24:20
  definitely.
• 24:21
  Now,
• 24:22
  you
• 24:22
  went
• 24:22
  through
• 24:23
  recently
• 24:23
  what's
• 24:24
  called
• 24:24
  the
• 24:25
  transfer
• 24:25
  portal.
• 24:26
  Tell
• 24:26
  the
• 24:26
  folks
• 24:27
  that
• 24:27
  may
• 24:27
  not
• 24:27
  be
• 24:28
  initiated
• 24:29
  with
• 24:29
  that
• 24:30
  terminology
• 24:31
  exactly
• 24:31
  what
• 24:32
  that
• 24:32
  is.
• 24:32
  Reno.
• 24:34
  Yeah,
• 24:34
  so
• 24:35
  again,
• 24:36
  people
• 24:36
  enter
• 24:36
  the
• 24:36
  transfer
• 24:37
  portal
• 24:37
  for
• 24:37
  a
• 24:37
  variety
• 24:38
  of
• 24:38
  reasons.
• 24:39
  And
• 24:40
  I
• 24:41
  was
• 24:41
  a
• 24:41
  walk
• 24:41
  on
• 24:41
  to
• 24:41
  Notre
• 24:42
  Dame.
• 24:42
  And
• 24:43
  even
• 24:43
  though
• 24:43
  I
• 24:43
  was
• 24:43
  a
• 24:43
  recruited
• 24:44
  walk
• 24:44
  on
• 24:44
  and
• 24:44
  they
• 24:45
  got
• 24:45
  me
• 24:45
  into
• 24:45
  school
• 24:45
  and
• 24:45
  everything,
• 24:46
  I
• 24:46
  was
• 24:46
  still
• 24:46
  paying
• 24:46
  for
• 24:46
  school.
• 24:47
  And
• 24:48
  my
• 24:48
  dad
• 24:48
  passed
• 24:48
  away
• 24:49
  when
• 24:49
  I
• 24:49
  was
• 24:49
  seven
• 24:49
  years
• 24:49
  old.
• 24:50
  And
• 24:50
  my
• 24:50
  mom's
• 24:51
  a
• 24:51
  single
• 24:51
  parent
• 24:52
  and
• 24:52
  she
• 24:52
  does
• 24:52
  an
• 24:52
  incredible
• 24:53
  job
• 24:53
  raising
• 24:53
  my
• 24:54
  brother
• 24:54
  and
• 24:54
  I.
• 24:55
  And
• 24:55
  I
• 24:56
  wanted
• 24:56
  to
• 24:56
  be
• 24:56
  able
• 24:56
  to
• 24:57
  get
• 24:57
  my
• 24:58
  school
• 24:58
  paid
• 24:58
  for
• 24:58
  for
• 24:59
  my
• 24:59
  master's
• 24:59
  degree
• 24:59
  because
• 25:00
  I
• 25:00
  worked
• 25:00
  really,
• 25:00
  really,
• 25:01
  really
• 25:01
  hard
• 25:02
  at
• 25:02
  my
• 25:02
  time
• 25:02
  in
• 25:02
  the
• 25:02
  classroom
• 25:03
  in
• 25:03
  Notre
• 25:03
  Dame.
• 25:03
  And
• 25:04
  I
• 25:04
  graduated
• 25:04
  with
• 25:04
  my
• 25:05
  bachelor's
• 25:05
  degree
• 25:05
  in
• 25:06
  three
• 25:06
  years
• 25:06
  there
• 25:06
  in
• 25:07
  sports,
• 25:07
  media
• 25:07
  and
• 25:08
  theology.
• 25:09
  And
• 25:10
  after
• 25:11
  spring,
• 25:12
  you
• 25:12
  know,
• 25:13
  like
• 25:13
  they
• 25:14
  were
• 25:15
  not
• 25:16
  even
• 25:16
  have
• 25:16
  a
• 25:16
  scholarship.
• 25:17
  There's
• 25:17
  nothing
• 25:17
  against
• 25:18
  them.
• 25:18
  So
• 25:18
  I
• 25:19
  decided
• 25:19
  to
• 25:19
  enter
• 25:19
  the
• 25:19
  transfer
• 25:20
  portal
• 25:20
  and
• 25:21
  I
• 25:21
  decided
• 25:22
  to
• 25:22
  go
• 25:23
  in
• 25:23
  search
• 25:23
  of
• 25:23
  an
• 25:23
  opportunity
• 25:24
  to
• 25:24
  go
• 25:24
  to
• 25:24
  school
• 25:25
  for
• 25:25
  free.
• 25:25
  And
• 25:26
  fortunately,
• 25:27
  there
• 25:27
  were
• 25:27
  many
• 25:27
  different
• 25:27
  opportunities,
• 25:28
  many
• 25:28
  great
• 25:29
  schools
• 25:30
  that
• 25:30
  offered
• 25:30
  me
• 25:30
  opportunities
• 25:31
  to
• 25:31
  go
• 25:31
  and
• 25:32
  play
• 25:32
  on
• 25:32
  scholarship.
• 25:33
  But
• 25:34
  none,
• 25:35
  in
• 25:35
  my
• 25:35
  opinion,
• 25:35
  was
• 25:35
  greater
• 25:36
  than
• 25:37
  the
• 25:37
  one
• 25:37
  that
• 25:37
  I
• 25:37
  received
• 25:38
  here
• 25:39
  at
• 25:39
  Cal
• 25:39
  Berkeley,
• 25:40
  here
• 25:40
  in
• 25:41
  the
• 25:41
  AC
• 25:41
  out
• 25:42
  in
• 25:42
  Berkeley,
• 25:42
  California.
• 25:43
  And
• 25:44
  it
• 25:44
  was
• 25:44
  such
• 25:44
  quick,
• 25:44
  incredible,
• 25:45
  crazy
• 25:46
  process.
• 25:46
  I
• 25:46
  almost
• 25:47
  think
• 25:47
  about
• 25:47
  Jerry
• 25:47
  Maguire,
• 25:48
  where
• 25:48
  there's
• 25:49
  that
• 25:49
  scene
• 25:49
  where
• 25:50
  he
• 25:50
  goes,
• 25:50
  show
• 25:50
  me
• 25:50
  the
• 25:51
  money.
• 25:51
  And
• 25:51
  he's
• 25:51
  like,
• 25:51
  I'll
• 25:52
  show
• 25:52
  you
• 25:52
  the
• 25:52
  money.
• 25:53
  Show
• 25:53
  me
• 25:53
  the
• 25:53
  money.
• 25:53
  That's
• 25:54
  what
• 25:54
  it
• 25:54
  was.
• 25:55
  And
• 25:56
  me
• 25:56
  and
• 25:56
  my
• 25:56
  mom
• 25:56
  are
• 25:56
  sitting
• 25:57
  in
• 25:57
  my
• 25:57
  room
• 25:57
  at
• 25:57
  Notre
• 25:57
  Dame
• 25:58
  and
• 25:58
  coach,
• 25:59
  ask
• 25:59
  Coach,
• 25:59
  text
• 26:00
  call,
• 26:01
  FaceTime,
• 26:01
  all
• 26:02
  these
• 26:02
  different
• 26:02
  things
• 26:02
  we're
• 26:03
  trying
• 26:03
  to
• 26:03
  figure.
• 26:03
  Out,
• 26:04
  what
• 26:04
  are
• 26:04
  we
• 26:04
  going
• 26:04
  to
• 26:05
  do?
• 26:05
  Well,
• 26:06
  Cal
• 26:06
  made
• 26:06
  it
• 26:06
  pretty
• 26:06
  easy
• 26:07
  for
• 26:07
  us.
• 26:08
  I
• 26:08
  entered
• 26:08
  the
• 26:09
  transfer
• 26:09
  portal
• 26:09
  at
• 26:09
  10,
• 26:10
  24
• 26:11
  Cal
• 26:11
  called
• 26:11
  me
• 26:11
  at
• 26:12
  10:40am
• 26:13
  in
• 26:13
  the
• 26:13
  morning.
• 26:14
  By
• 26:15
  4:30,
• 26:15
  they
• 26:16
  offered
• 26:16
  me
• 26:16
  a
• 26:16
  scholarship.
• 26:17
  By
• 26:17
  10pm
• 26:18
  they
• 26:18
  booked
• 26:18
  me,
• 26:19
  my
• 26:19
  mom,
• 26:19
  my
• 26:19
  girlfriend's
• 26:20
  flights
• 26:21
  from
• 26:21
  out
• 26:21
  here
• 26:21
  to
• 26:22
  Berkeley
• 26:22
  the
• 26:23
  very
• 26:23
  next
• 26:23
  day.
• 26:23
  This
• 26:24
  was
• 26:24
  on
• 26:24
  Holy
• 26:24
  Thursday.
• 26:25
  We
• 26:25
  came
• 26:25
  up
• 26:25
  here,
• 26:26
  got
• 26:26
  in
• 26:26
  at
• 26:26
  midnight,
• 26:27
  visited
• 26:27
  the
• 26:27
  whole
• 26:28
  next
• 26:28
  day
• 26:28
  on
• 26:28
  Friday
• 26:29
  and
• 26:29
  committed
• 26:30
  to
• 26:30
  Coach
• 26:30
  Wilcox
• 26:31
  here
• 26:31
  on
• 26:32
  campus.
• 26:33
  And
• 26:33
  then
• 26:33
  they
• 26:33
  flew
• 26:33
  us
• 26:34
  home
• 26:34
  Saturday
• 26:34
  just
• 26:34
  so
• 26:35
  we
• 26:35
  could
• 26:35
  be
• 26:35
  home
• 26:35
  for
• 26:35
  Easter
• 26:35
  Sunday.
• 26:36
  So
• 26:36
  it
• 26:36
  was
• 26:36
  a
• 26:36
  whirlwind
• 26:37
  of
• 26:37
  a
• 26:37
  process
• 26:38
  and
• 26:38
  definitely
• 26:39
  crazy,
• 26:39
  for
• 26:40
  sure.
• 26:40
  But
• 26:41
  as
• 26:41
  I
• 26:41
  sit
• 26:41
  here
• 26:42
  in
• 26:42
  my
• 26:42
  two
• 26:43
  week
• 26:43
  old
• 26:43
  apartment
• 26:44
  here
• 26:44
  in
• 26:44
  Berkeley,
• 26:45
  I'm
• 26:45
  very
• 26:45
  grateful
• 26:46
  and
• 26:46
  I'm
• 26:47
  very
• 26:47
  blessed
• 26:48
  to
• 26:48
  be
• 26:48
  in
• 26:48
  this
• 26:48
  position,
• 26:49
  to
• 26:49
  not
• 26:49
  only
• 26:49
  play
• 26:49
  football
• 26:50
  at
• 26:50
  such
• 26:50
  a
• 26:50
  high
• 26:51
  level
• 26:51
  still,
• 26:51
  but
• 26:52
  to
• 26:53
  be
• 26:53
  a
• 26:54
  graduate
• 26:54
  of
• 26:54
  the
• 26:54
  University
• 26:55
  of
• 26:55
  Notre
• 26:55
  Dame,
• 26:56
  the
• 26:56
  number
• 26:56
  one
• 26:56
  Catholic
• 26:56
  school
• 26:57
  in
• 26:57
  America,
• 26:57
  and
• 26:58
  now
• 26:58
  have
• 26:58
  the
• 26:58
  opportunity
• 26:59
  to
• 26:59
  earn
• 26:59
  a
• 26:59
  master's
• 27:00
  degree
• 27:00
  from
• 27:01
  the
• 27:01
  number
• 27:01
  one
• 27:01
  public
• 27:02
  school
• 27:02
  in
• 27:02
  America.
• 27:03
  Now
• 27:04
  in
• 27:04
  the
• 27:05
  final
• 27:05
  couple
• 27:06
  of
• 27:06
  minutes,
• 27:06
  we
• 27:06
  have
• 27:06
  Reno.
• 27:08
  What
• 27:08
  an
• 27:08
  experience.
• 27:09
  Let's
• 27:10
  just
• 27:10
  say
• 27:10
  a
• 27:10
  whirlwind
• 27:11
  to
• 27:11
  get
• 27:11
  you
• 27:11
  out
• 27:11
  to
• 27:11
  Berkeley.
• 27:12
  What
• 27:12
  are
• 27:13
  your
• 27:13
  plans
• 27:13
  from
• 27:14
  here
• 27:14
  on
• 27:14
  in?
• 27:16
  Yeah,
• 27:16
  the
• 27:17
  plan
• 27:17
  is,
• 27:17
  you
• 27:18
  know,
• 27:18
  play
• 27:18
  out
• 27:18
  these
• 27:18
  last
• 27:19
  few
• 27:19
  years.
• 27:19
  I'm
• 27:19
  going
• 27:19
  to
• 27:19
  get
• 27:19
  a
• 27:20
  Master's
• 27:20
  in
• 27:20
  education
• 27:20
  here
• 27:21
  at
• 27:21
  Berkeley
• 27:21
  in
• 27:21
  the
• 27:22
  Berkeley
• 27:22
  School
• 27:22
  of
• 27:22
  Education.
• 27:24
  Going
• 27:24
  to
• 27:25
  then
• 27:25
  use
• 27:25
  my
• 27:25
  second
• 27:26
  year
• 27:26
  to
• 27:26
  get
• 27:26
  a
• 27:26
  graduate
• 27:27
  certificate
• 27:27
  in
• 27:27
  Business
• 27:28
  Administration
• 27:29
  here
• 27:29
  through
• 27:29
  the
• 27:29
  Haas
• 27:30
  Business
• 27:30
  School,
• 27:30
  which
• 27:30
  is
• 27:30
  one
• 27:31
  of
• 27:31
  the
• 27:31
  top
• 27:31
  five
• 27:31
  business
• 27:32
  schools
• 27:32
  in
• 27:32
  America,
• 27:33
  and
• 27:33
  then
• 27:33
  kind
• 27:34
  of
• 27:34
  take
• 27:34
  life
• 27:34
  from
• 27:34
  there.
• 27:35
  Again,
• 27:35
  I'm.
• 27:36
  Again,
• 27:37
  if
• 27:37
  the
• 27:37
  NFL
• 27:38
  is
• 27:38
  an
• 27:38
  option,
• 27:38
  the
• 27:38
  NFL
• 27:39
  is
• 27:39
  an
• 27:39
  option.
• 27:39
  If
• 27:39
  it's
• 27:40
  not
• 27:40
  really
• 27:40
  not
• 27:40
  worried.
• 27:41
  That's
• 27:41
  why
• 27:41
  I
• 27:41
  chose
• 27:42
  two
• 27:42
  incredible,
• 27:43
  you
• 27:43
  know,
• 27:43
  universities
• 27:44
  and
• 27:44
  alumni
• 27:44
  networks
• 27:45
  that
• 27:45
  could
• 27:45
  help
• 27:45
  me
• 27:46
  change
• 27:46
  my
• 27:46
  life
• 27:47
  for
• 27:47
  the
• 27:47
  better.
• 27:48
  And
• 27:48
  then
• 27:49
  I'm
• 27:49
  focused
• 27:49
  on
• 27:50
  whether
• 27:50
  that,
• 27:51
  then
• 27:51
  I'm
• 27:52
  either
• 27:52
  going
• 27:52
  to
• 27:52
  take
• 27:53
  one
• 27:53
  of
• 27:53
  two
• 27:53
  routes,
• 27:53
  either
• 27:54
  to
• 27:54
  go
• 27:54
  work
• 27:54
  in
• 27:55
  sports
• 27:55
  media,
• 27:56
  right,
• 27:56
  using
• 27:56
  the
• 27:57
  various
• 27:57
  connections
• 27:57
  through
• 27:58
  NBC
• 27:58
  that
• 27:58
  I
• 27:58
  was
• 27:58
  able
• 27:58
  to
• 27:59
  build
• 27:59
  through
• 27:59
  Notre
• 27:59
  Dame,
• 28:00
  or
• 28:01
  then
• 28:02
  use
• 28:02
  my
• 28:02
  master's
• 28:03
  in
• 28:03
  education
• 28:03
  and
• 28:03
  my
• 28:04
  theology
• 28:04
  degree
• 28:04
  and
• 28:04
  my
• 28:05
  business
• 28:05
  degree
• 28:05
  to
• 28:05
  eventually
• 28:06
  become
• 28:06
  an
• 28:06
  administrator
• 28:07
  at
• 28:07
  a
• 28:07
  high
• 28:07
  school.
• 28:07
  The
• 28:08
  dream
• 28:08
  job
• 28:08
  for
• 28:08
  me
• 28:08
  is
• 28:08
  to
• 28:09
  be
• 28:09
  the
• 28:09
  head
• 28:09
  coach,
• 28:09
  coach
• 28:09
  at
• 28:10
  Kellenberg.
• 28:10
  That
• 28:11
  would
• 28:11
  be
• 28:11
  my
• 28:11
  dream
• 28:11
  job,
• 28:12
  to
• 28:12
  go
• 28:12
  back
• 28:13
  and
• 28:13
  pour
• 28:13
  into
• 28:13
  that
• 28:13
  program.
• 28:14
  But
• 28:15
  whether
• 28:15
  that's
• 28:15
  going,
• 28:16
  whether
• 28:16
  that's
• 28:17
  teaching
• 28:18
  at
• 28:18
  Kellenberg
• 28:19
  or
• 28:20
  coaching
• 28:20
  at
• 28:20
  Kellenberg
• 28:21
  or
• 28:21
  going
• 28:21
  to
• 28:21
  work
• 28:21
  in
• 28:22
  sports
• 28:22
  media,
• 28:23
  something
• 28:23
  back
• 28:23
  home
• 28:23
  in
• 28:23
  New
• 28:24
  York,
• 28:24
  because
• 28:24
  it's
• 28:25
  been
• 28:25
  way
• 28:25
  too
• 28:25
  long
• 28:26
  since
• 28:26
  I've
• 28:26
  gone
• 28:27
  to
• 28:27
  spend
• 28:27
  an
• 28:27
  extended
• 28:28
  amount
• 28:28
  of
• 28:28
  period
• 28:28
  of
• 28:28
  time
• 28:29
  back
• 28:29
  in
• 28:29
  our
• 28:29
  great

• 33:15
  and
• 33:16
  honorable
• 33:17
  mention
• 33:17
  all
• 33:18
  Big
• 33:18
  Eight.
• 33:20
  Yeah,
• 33:21
  they
• 33:21
  chew
• 33:21
  me
• 33:22
  a
• 33:22
  little
• 33:22
  bone
• 33:22
  there.
• 33:25
  I
• 33:25
  had
• 33:25
  a
• 33:26
  decent
• 33:26
  season
• 33:27
  my
• 33:28
  sophomore
• 33:28
  junior
• 33:28
  years.
• 33:29
  I
• 33:29
  got
• 33:29
  ganged
• 33:29
  up
• 33:29
  a
• 33:29
  little
• 33:30
  bit,
• 33:30
  nothing
• 33:31
  serious,
• 33:31
  but
• 33:32
  missed
• 33:32
  a
• 33:32
  couple
• 33:33
  games
• 33:33
  here
• 33:33
  and
• 33:33
  there.
• 33:33
  But
• 33:35
  yeah,
• 33:35
  I
• 33:35
  had
• 33:36
  a
• 33:36
  decent,
• 33:36
  decent
• 33:37
  last
• 33:37
  year.
• 33:38
  And
• 33:38
  then
• 33:39
  unfortunately,
• 33:40
  team
• 33:40
  wise,
• 33:42
  we
• 33:42
  had
• 33:42
  a
• 33:42
  criminal
• 33:42
  season.
• 33:44
  Gotcha.
• 33:44
  Yeah,
• 33:45
  people
• 33:46
  will
• 33:46
  remember
• 33:47
  George,
• 33:47
  he
• 33:47
  was
• 33:47
  a
• 33:48
  six
• 33:48
  round
• 33:48
  pick
• 33:48
  by
• 33:49
  the
• 33:49
  New
• 33:49
  York
• 33:49
  jets
• 33:50
  in
• 33:50
  1980.
• 33:52
  You
• 33:52
  were
• 33:52
  cut
• 33:53
  by
• 33:53
  the
• 33:53
  jets,
• 33:53
  which
• 33:54
  is
• 33:55
  not
• 33:55
  surprising
• 33:56
  that
• 33:56
  they
• 33:56
  let
• 33:56
  somebody
• 33:57
  talented
• 33:57
  go
• 33:59
  because
• 33:59
  that's
• 34:00
  been
• 34:00
  their
• 34:00
  M.O.
• 34:00
  over
• 34:01
  the
• 34:01
  years,
• 34:01
  George.
• 34:02
  Now
• 34:02
  you
• 34:03
  got
• 34:03
  picked
• 34:03
  up
• 34:04
  for
• 34:04
  the
• 34:04
  49ers
• 34:05
  and
• 34:05
  you
• 34:06
  sustained
• 34:06
  a
• 34:07
  concussion
• 34:07
  in
• 34:07
  your
• 34:08
  first
• 34:08
  play.
• 34:10
  Yeah,
• 34:11
  we
• 34:11
  played.
• 34:12
  Yeah.
• 34:12
  So
• 34:13
  with
• 34:13
  the
• 34:13
  jets
• 34:13
  they
• 34:13
  had,
• 34:14
  they
• 34:14
  had
• 34:14
  a
• 34:14
  pretty
• 34:14
  stacked
• 34:15
  defensive
• 34:15
  line
• 34:15
  with,
• 34:16
  with
• 34:16
  Cleco
• 34:17
  Gastro,
• 34:20
  you
• 34:20
  know,
• 34:21
  but
• 34:22
  yeah,
• 34:22
  so
• 34:22
  the
• 34:22
  Niners
• 34:23
  picked
• 34:23
  me
• 34:23
  up
• 34:23
  for
• 34:23
  about
• 34:23
  the
• 34:24
  fifth
• 34:24
  game
• 34:24
  this
• 34:24
  season.
• 34:25
  We
• 34:25
  were
• 34:25
  playing
• 34:25
  Dallas
• 34:26
  and
• 34:28
  came
• 34:28
  in
• 34:28
  on
• 34:29
  a
• 34:29
  Tuesday
• 34:30
  for
• 34:31
  workout
• 34:31
  and
• 34:32
  we
• 34:32
  practiced
• 34:32
  Wednesday,
• 34:33
  Thursday,
• 34:34
  Friday
• 34:34
  flew
• 34:35
  to
• 34:35
  Dallas
• 34:35
  and
• 34:35
  it
• 34:35
  was
• 34:35
  a
• 34:35
  short
• 34:36
  week.
• 34:36
  We
• 34:36
  were
• 34:36
  playing
• 34:36
  on
• 34:37
  Saturday
• 34:37
  if
• 34:37
  I
• 34:37
  remember
• 34:38
  correctly.
• 34:38
  So
• 34:39
  I
• 34:39
  had
• 34:39
  a
• 34:39
  really
• 34:39
  short
• 34:40
  time
• 34:40
  to
• 34:40
  prepare
• 34:41
  little
• 34:41
  playbook
• 34:42
  and
• 34:43
  first
• 34:43
  play
• 34:44
  I'm
• 34:44
  in,
• 34:44
  I
• 34:44
  get
• 34:44
  year
• 34:45
  hold
• 34:45
  on
• 34:45
  a
• 34:45
  Dallas
• 34:46
  tight
• 34:46
  end,
• 34:46
  trap
• 34:47
  on
• 34:47
  a
• 34:47
  goal
• 34:47
  line
• 34:48
  and
• 34:49
  basically
• 34:50
  don't
• 34:50
  remember
• 34:51
  that
• 34:51
  game
• 34:51
  nor
• 34:51
  the
• 34:51
  next
• 34:52
  week
• 34:52
  playing
• 34:52
  the
• 34:52
  Rams
• 34:53
  week
• 34:54
  and
• 34:54
  a
• 34:54
  half
• 34:54
  later,
• 34:55
  the
• 34:55
  doctors
• 34:56
  and
• 34:56
  trainers
• 34:56
  laughingly
• 34:57
  telling
• 34:57
  me
• 34:57
  I
• 34:58
  went
• 34:58
  through
• 34:58
  15
• 34:59
  or
• 34:59
  20
• 34:59
  Snelling
• 35:00
  calls
• 35:01
  during
• 35:01
  the
• 35:01
  Dallas
• 35:01
  game
• 35:01
  to
• 35:02
  keep
• 35:02
  me
• 35:02
  on
• 35:02
  the
• 35:02
  field.
• 35:03
  And
• 35:04
  it
• 35:04
  was
• 35:04
  a
• 35:04
  joke
• 35:05
  back
• 35:05
  then,
• 35:05
  you
• 35:05
  know,
• 35:05
  they
• 35:05
  called
• 35:06
  it
• 35:06
  getting
• 35:06
  the
• 35:06
  bell
• 35:06
  rung.
• 35:07
  Yeah,
• 35:08
  you
• 35:08
  know,
• 35:09
  never
• 35:09
  missed
• 35:09
  the
• 35:09
  play,
• 35:09
  never
• 35:10
  missed
• 35:10
  the
• 35:10
  practice.
• 35:10
  And
• 35:11
  then
• 35:11
  a
• 35:11
  few
• 35:11
  months
• 35:11
  later
• 35:12
  I
• 35:12
  developed
• 35:13
  hydrocephalus,
• 35:14
  water
• 35:14
  on
• 35:14
  the
• 35:14
  brain
• 35:15
  and
• 35:16
  ended
• 35:16
  up
• 35:16
  having
• 35:16
  three
• 35:17
  brain
• 35:17
  surgeries
• 35:17
  in
• 35:18
  eight
• 35:18
  months
• 35:18
  and
• 35:18
  nine
• 35:19
  in
• 35:19
  that
• 35:19
  12
• 35:19
  years
• 35:20
  and
• 35:20
  still
• 35:20
  battling
• 35:21
  it.
• 35:21
  And
• 35:22
  George,
• 35:22
  as
• 35:23
  you
• 35:23
  say,
• 35:23
  they
• 35:24
  just
• 35:24
  laughed
• 35:24
  and
• 35:24
  told
• 35:25
  you
• 35:25
  you
• 35:25
  had
• 35:25
  your
• 35:25
  bell
• 35:25
  rung,
• 35:26
  that
• 35:26
  they
• 35:26
  had
• 35:26
  no
• 35:27
  idea
• 35:27
  of
• 35:28
  the
• 35:28
  serious
• 35:28
  diagnosis.
• 35:31
  Well,
• 35:31
  they
• 35:31
  did
• 35:31
  have
• 35:31
  an
• 35:32
  idea.
• 35:32
  I
• 35:33
  don't
• 35:33
  buy
• 35:33
  that.
• 35:33
  Because
• 35:34
  if
• 35:34
  I
• 35:34
  was
• 35:34
  a
• 35:34
  boxer
• 35:35
  in
• 35:35
  1980
• 35:36
  and
• 35:36
  been
• 35:36
  knocked
• 35:37
  unconscious,
• 35:37
  I
• 35:38
  wouldn't
• 35:38
  have
• 35:38
  been
• 35:38
  able
• 35:38
  to
• 35:38
  box
• 35:39
  for
• 35:39
  a
• 35:39
  week.
• 35:40
  They
• 35:41
  played
• 35:41
  this
• 35:42
  stupid
• 35:42
  game
• 35:42
  that
• 35:42
  they
• 35:43
  didn't
• 35:43
  know
• 35:43
  any
• 35:43
  better.
• 35:44
  And
• 35:45
  everyone
• 35:46
  already
• 35:46
  knew
• 35:46
  the
• 35:47
  repercussions
• 35:48
  for,
• 35:49
  you
• 35:49
  know,
• 35:49
  return
• 35:50
  of
• 35:50
  the
• 35:50
  play
• 35:50
  with
• 35:50
  concussions,
• 35:51
  maybe
• 35:51
  not
• 35:51
  as
• 35:51
  much
• 35:52
  as
• 35:52
  they
• 35:52
  do
• 35:52
  now,
• 35:53
  but
• 35:53
  they
• 35:53
  act
• 35:54
  like
• 35:54
  it
• 35:54
  was
• 35:54
  total
• 35:54
  shock
• 35:55
  to
• 35:55
  them.
• 35:56
  So
• 35:56
  I
• 35:57
  don't
• 35:57
  buy
• 35:58
  that.
• 35:59
  They
• 35:59
  just
• 35:59
  wanted
• 35:59
  to
• 36:00
  keep
• 36:00
  you
• 36:00
  on
• 36:00
  the
• 36:00
  field
• 36:00
  as
• 36:00
  long
• 36:00
  as
• 36:01
  they
• 36:01
  could,
• 36:01
  and
• 36:01
  then
• 36:02
  once
• 36:02
  you're
• 36:02
  used
• 36:02
  up,
• 36:03
  they
• 36:03
  just
• 36:03
  replace
• 36:03
  you.
• 36:04
  That's
• 36:04
  their
• 36:05
  model.
• 36:06
  That
• 36:06
  was
• 36:06
  the
• 36:07
  modus
• 36:07
  operandi
• 36:08
  in
• 36:08
  the
• 36:08
  NFL
• 36:09
  at
• 36:09
  that
• 36:09
  time.
• 36:10
  Now,
• 36:10
  you
• 36:11
  had
• 36:12
  three
• 36:12
  emergency
• 36:14
  brain
• 36:14
  surgeries
• 36:15
  in
• 36:16
  eight
• 36:16
  months,
• 36:16
  and
• 36:17
  they
• 36:17
  even
• 36:17
  gave
• 36:17
  you
• 36:18
  last
• 36:18
  rights
• 36:19
  during
• 36:19
  the
• 36:19
  third
• 36:19
  one.
• 36:20
  That's
• 36:20
  pretty
• 36:21
  serious.
• 36:22
  Yeah,
• 36:23
  that
• 36:23
  one
• 36:23
  was
• 36:23
  bad.
• 36:23
  I.
• 36:25
  My
• 36:26
  first
• 36:26
  one
• 36:26
  was
• 36:26
  during
• 36:26
  September
• 36:27
  during
• 36:27
  the
• 36:28
  81
• 36:28
  Super
• 36:28
  bowl
• 36:29
  season.
• 36:29
  I
• 36:30
  remember
• 36:30
  it
• 36:30
  was
• 36:30
  September
• 36:31
  because
• 36:31
  I
• 36:31
  turned
• 36:32
  23
• 36:32
  in
• 36:33
  intensive
• 36:33
  care.
• 36:33
  I
• 36:34
  remember
• 36:34
  that.
• 36:35
  And
• 36:35
  then
• 36:36
  between
• 36:36
  September
• 36:37
  and
• 36:37
  May,
• 36:38
  four
• 36:38
  months
• 36:38
  after
• 36:38
  the
• 36:38
  Super
• 36:39
  Bowl,
• 36:40
  I
• 36:40
  had.
• 36:40
  I
• 36:41
  got
• 36:41
  arrested
• 36:41
  three
• 36:42
  different
• 36:42
  times.
• 36:42
  I've
• 36:43
  never
• 36:43
  been
• 36:43
  arrested
• 36:43
  in
• 36:44
  my
• 36:44
  life.
• 36:45
  And
• 36:45
  all
• 36:45
  of
• 36:45
  a
• 36:45
  sudden,
• 36:46
  I
• 36:46
  started
• 36:46
  hearing
• 36:46
  stories.
• 36:47
  I'd
• 36:47
  go
• 36:47
  and
• 36:47
  have
• 36:47
  a
• 36:48
  couple
• 36:48
  beers.
• 36:48
  The
• 36:48
  next
• 36:48
  thing
• 36:49
  I
• 36:49
  know,
• 36:49
  I'm
• 36:50
  and
• 36:50
  in
• 36:50
  jail
• 36:51
  hours
• 36:51
  later,
• 36:51
  no
• 36:52
  memory
• 36:52
  how
• 36:52
  I
• 36:52
  got
• 36:52
  there.
• 36:54
  I
• 36:54
  go
• 36:54
  back
• 36:54
  and
• 36:54
  see
• 36:55
  the
• 36:55
  neurosurgeon
• 36:55
  at
• 36:56
  Stanford
• 36:56
  in
• 36:56
  May,
• 36:57
  four
• 36:58
  months
• 36:58
  after
• 36:58
  the
• 36:58
  Super
• 36:59
  Bowl.
• 36:59
  I
• 37:00
  tell
• 37:00
  him
• 37:00
  about
• 37:00
  what's
• 37:00
  going
• 37:01
  on.
• 37:01
  He
• 37:02
  tells
• 37:02
  me
• 37:02
  this
• 37:02
  month
• 37:03
  of
• 37:03
  my
• 37:03
  surgery.
• 37:04
  I
• 37:04
  said,
• 37:04
  well,
• 37:05
  I've
• 37:05
  never
• 37:05
  had
• 37:05
  problems
• 37:05
  having
• 37:06
  a
• 37:06
  few
• 37:06
  beer.
• 37:07
  So
• 37:07
  they
• 37:08
  do
• 37:08
  a
• 37:08
  CAT
• 37:08
  scan
• 37:09
  on
• 37:09
  my
• 37:09
  brain.
• 37:10
  I
• 37:11
  told
• 37:11
  him,
• 37:11
  I'm
• 37:11
  leaving
• 37:11
  from
• 37:12
  Mexico
• 37:12
  tomorrow
• 37:12
  to
• 37:12
  go
• 37:12
  fishing
• 37:13
  with
• 37:13
  my
• 37:13
  brother.
• 37:14
  He
• 37:14
  says,
• 37:14
  I
• 37:15
  do
• 37:15
  a
• 37:15
  CAT
• 37:15
  scan.
• 37:15
  He
• 37:16
  said,
• 37:16
  you
• 37:16
  look
• 37:16
  fine.
• 37:16
  No
• 37:17
  problem.
• 37:17
  Leave
• 37:17
  the
• 37:17
  country.
• 37:19
  We
• 37:19
  got
• 37:19
  drinking.
• 37:20
  No
• 37:20
  problem.
• 37:20
  We
• 37:21
  fly
• 37:21
  down
• 37:21
  there
• 37:21
  that
• 37:22
  night.
• 37:22
  I
• 37:22
  have
• 37:23
  one
• 37:23
  margarita
• 37:23
  at
• 37:24
  dinner,
• 37:25
  and
• 37:25
  I
• 37:25
  started
• 37:25
  getting
• 37:26
  pounding
• 37:26
  headaches.
• 37:27
  I
• 37:27
  went
• 37:27
  back
• 37:28
  to
• 37:28
  the
• 37:28
  room
• 37:29
  I
• 37:29
  was
• 37:29
  sharing
• 37:30
  with
• 37:30
  my
• 37:30
  brother,
• 37:30
  and
• 37:30
  his
• 37:30
  wife
• 37:31
  was
• 37:31
  down
• 37:31
  there
• 37:31
  with
• 37:31
  us.
• 37:32
  And
• 37:33
  they
• 37:33
  stayed
• 37:33
  out
• 37:33
  a
• 37:33
  couple
• 37:34
  hours,
• 37:34
  and
• 37:34
  they
• 37:34
  come
• 37:34
  back
• 37:35
  in
• 37:35
  a
• 37:35
  couple
• 37:35
  hours
• 37:36
  later.
• 37:36
  I'm
• 37:36
  going
• 37:36
  into
• 37:37
  a
• 37:37
  coma.
• 37:37
  My
• 37:38
  last
• 37:38
  memory
• 37:38
  was
• 37:39
  pounding
• 37:40
  headache.
• 37:41
  I
• 37:41
  had
• 37:41
  a
• 37:41
  bald
• 37:42
  light
• 37:42
  in
• 37:42
  front
• 37:42
  of
• 37:42
  each
• 37:42
  eye.
• 37:43
  My
• 37:43
  hearing
• 37:43
  was
• 37:44
  coming
• 37:44
  and
• 37:44
  going
• 37:44
  with
• 37:44
  a
• 37:44
  speed
• 37:45
  of
• 37:45
  my
• 37:45
  heart.
• 37:46
  My
• 37:46
  head
• 37:46
  was
• 37:46
  ready
• 37:46
  to
• 37:47
  pop.
• 37:47
  And
• 37:48
  by
• 37:48
  the
• 37:48
  time
• 37:48
  my
• 37:48
  brother
• 37:48
  Mel
• 37:49
  gets
• 37:49
  in
• 37:49
  the
• 37:49
  room
• 37:50
  I'm
• 37:50
  in
• 37:51
  what
• 37:51
  they
• 37:51
  call
• 37:51
  a
• 37:51
  walking
• 37:52
  coma.
• 37:52
  I'm
• 37:52
  like
• 37:52
  a
• 37:53
  zombie
• 37:53
  walking
• 37:53
  around,
• 37:53
  puking
• 37:54
  all
• 37:54
  over,
• 37:55
  man,
• 37:55
  can't
• 37:55
  see,
• 37:56
  eyes
• 37:57
  dilated.
• 37:58
  That
• 37:59
  started
• 37:59
  the
• 37:59
  beginning
• 38:00
  of
• 38:00
  a
• 38:00
  freaking
• 38:00
  38
• 38:01
  year
• 38:02
  legal,
• 38:04
  physical,
• 38:05
  cognitive
• 38:05
  nightmare.
• 38:07
  That's
• 38:08
  exactly
• 38:08
  what
• 38:08
  it
• 38:08
  sounds
• 38:09
  like.
• 38:09
  George.
• 38:10
  George
• 38:10
  Visger
• 38:11
  with
• 38:11
  us
• 38:11
  tonight
• 38:11
  on
• 38:12
  Sports
• 38:12
  Talk
• 38:12
  New
• 38:13
  York.
• 38:14
  Now,
• 38:15
  the
• 38:15
  hospital
• 38:16
  bills,
• 38:18
  they
• 38:18
  really
• 38:19
  mounted
• 38:20
  for
• 38:20
  you.
• 38:22
  Yeah,
• 38:22
  so
• 38:22
  Mel
• 38:23
  got
• 38:23
  me
• 38:23
  home
• 38:23
  from
• 38:24
  Mexico
• 38:24
  and
• 38:24
  I
• 38:25
  had
• 38:26
  another
• 38:26
  brain
• 38:26
  surgery.
• 38:27
  And
• 38:27
  10
• 38:27
  hours
• 38:27
  later
• 38:28
  that
• 38:28
  shunt
• 38:28
  went
• 38:28
  out
• 38:29
  and
• 38:29
  they
• 38:29
  rushed
• 38:29
  me
• 38:29
  back
• 38:29
  in
• 38:30
  giving
• 38:30
  me
• 38:30
  a
• 38:30
  third
• 38:30
  brain
• 38:31
  surgery.
• 38:31
  That's
• 38:32
  when
• 38:32
  they
• 38:32
  brought
• 38:32
  in
• 38:32
  the
• 38:32
  precision
• 38:33
  last
• 38:33
  night
• 38:34
  of
• 38:34
  23.
• 38:36
  And
• 38:36
  I
• 38:36
  come
• 38:36
  out
• 38:37
  of
• 38:37
  that.
• 38:37
  And
• 38:37
  to
• 38:38
  this
• 38:38
  day,
• 38:38
  I
• 38:38
  still
• 38:38
  have
• 38:39
  no
• 38:39
  memory
• 38:39
  of
• 38:39
  the
• 38:39
  next
• 38:40
  16,
• 38:40
  18
• 38:41
  months
• 38:41
  of
• 38:41
  my
• 38:41
  life.
• 38:42
  My
• 38:43
  first
• 38:43
  recollection
• 38:44
  was
• 38:44
  hospital
• 38:45
  bills.
• 38:46
  And
• 38:47
  I
• 38:47
  would
• 38:47
  write
• 38:47
  on
• 38:48
  please
• 38:48
  build
• 38:48
  campus
• 38:49
  for
• 38:49
  49.
• 38:49
  I
• 38:49
  was
• 38:50
  so
• 38:50
  out
• 38:50
  of
• 38:50
  it,
• 38:50
  just
• 38:51
  that
• 38:51
  I
• 38:52
  didn't
• 38:52
  even
• 38:53
  think
• 38:53
  of
• 38:53
  going
• 38:54
  back
• 38:54
  to
• 38:54
  the
• 38:54
  49ers.
• 38:56
  Just
• 38:57
  one
• 38:57
  minute
• 38:58
  I'm
• 38:59
  on
• 38:59
  the
• 38:59
  scene,
• 38:59
  the
• 38:59
  next
• 38:59
  thing
• 39:00
  I
• 39:00
  know
• 39:00
  it's
• 39:00
  a
• 39:00
  year
• 39:00
  and
• 39:01
  a
• 39:01
  half,
• 39:01
  two
• 39:01
  years
• 39:01
  later
• 39:02
  and
• 39:02
  I'm
• 39:03
  living
• 39:03
  in
• 39:03
  Sacramento.
• 39:05
  No
• 39:05
  memory
• 39:05
  of
• 39:06
  that
• 39:06
  year
• 39:06
  and
• 39:06
  a
• 39:06
  half.
• 39:07
  I
• 39:07
  never
• 39:08
  went
• 39:08
  back.
• 39:08
  So
• 39:08
  anyway,
• 39:09
  when
• 39:09
  my
• 39:09
  memory
• 39:10
  did
• 39:10
  come
• 39:10
  back,
• 39:11
  my
• 39:11
  first
• 39:11
  recollection
• 39:12
  was
• 39:13
  hospital
• 39:13
  bills.
• 39:13
  And
• 39:14
  I
• 39:14
  write
• 39:15
  on
• 39:15
  them,
• 39:15
  please
• 39:16
  build
• 39:16
  San
• 39:16
  Francisco
• 39:16
  49ers.
• 39:18
  I
• 39:19
  wrote
• 39:19
  their
• 39:19
  address
• 39:19
  so
• 39:20
  many
• 39:20
  times,
• 39:20
  I
• 39:20
  still
• 39:20
  remember
• 39:21
  it
• 39:21
  to
• 39:21
  this
• 39:21
  day.
• 39:22
  711
• 39:23
  Nevada
• 39:24
  Street,
• 39:24
  Redwood
• 39:24
  City.
• 39:25
  Right.
• 39:26
  And
• 39:26
  a
• 39:26
  week
• 39:26
  or
• 39:27
  so
• 39:27
  later
• 39:27
  I'd
• 39:27
  get
• 39:27
  the
• 39:27
  bill
• 39:28
  back
• 39:28
  from
• 39:28
  the
• 39:28
  miners
• 39:29
  and
• 39:29
  all
• 39:30
  they'd
• 39:30
  write
• 39:30
  was
• 39:30
  due
• 39:31
  out
• 39:31
  this
• 39:31
  amount.
• 39:34
  I
• 39:34
  can't
• 39:34
  remember
• 39:34
  what
• 39:34
  it
• 39:35
  was,
• 39:35
  but
• 39:35
  it
• 39:36
  was
• 39:36
  more
• 39:36
  than
• 39:36
  I
• 39:37
  made
• 39:37
  include
• 39:38
  my
• 39:38
  few
• 39:38
  years
• 39:39
  in
• 39:39
  the
• 39:39
  NFL,
• 39:39
  I'll
• 39:40
  tell
• 39:40
  you
• 39:40
  that
• 39:40
  much.
• 39:41
  So
• 39:42
  that
• 39:42
  started,
• 39:42
  that
• 39:42
  was
• 39:43
  an
• 39:43
  82.
• 39:43
  That
• 39:43
  started
• 39:44
  for
• 39:44
  84.
• 39:46
  And
• 39:47
  that
• 39:47
  same
• 39:47
  year
• 39:47
  I'd
• 39:48
  have
• 39:48
  two
• 39:48
  more
• 39:48
  surgeries
• 39:48
  on
• 39:49
  my
• 39:49
  knees
• 39:50
  repairing
• 39:50
  what
• 39:51
  the
• 39:51
  orthopedic
• 39:52
  surgeon
• 39:52
  screwed
• 39:53
  up
• 39:53
  that
• 39:53
  same
• 39:53
  season
• 39:54
  in
• 39:54
  81,
• 39:55
  from
• 39:56
  battling
• 39:56
  cutters,
• 39:57
  cutters
• 39:58
  on
• 39:58
  me,
• 39:59
  that
• 39:59
  potential
• 40:00
  lawsuit
• 40:02
  fighting
• 40:02
  for
• 40:02
  my
• 40:02
  work
• 40:03
  comp.
• 40:03
  I
• 40:03
  finally
• 40:04
  won
• 40:04
  that
• 40:04
  in
• 40:04
  86.
• 40:06
  And
• 40:07
  they
• 40:08
  offered
• 40:08
  me
• 40:08
  35,000.
• 40:10
  And
• 40:11
  I
• 40:11
  told
• 40:11
  them
• 40:12
  very
• 40:12
  politely
• 40:13
  where
• 40:13
  to
• 40:13
  put
• 40:13
  it
• 40:14
  right.
• 40:15
  I
• 40:15
  want
• 40:15
  what
• 40:16
  every
• 40:16
  injured
• 40:16
  employee
• 40:17
  has
• 40:17
  earned.
• 40:18
  I
• 40:18
  want
• 40:18
  my
• 40:18
  past
• 40:19
  medical
• 40:19
  paid.
• 40:20
  I
• 40:20
  want
• 40:21
  my
• 40:21
  future
• 40:21
  medical
• 40:22
  left
• 40:22
  open.
• 40:22
  And
• 40:23
  thank
• 40:23
  you
• 40:23
  God,
• 40:23
  I
• 40:24
  did.
• 40:24
  Because
• 40:24
  I've
• 40:25
  had
• 40:25
  time,
• 40:26
  six
• 40:26
  more
• 40:26
  brain
• 40:26
  surgeries
• 40:27
  since
• 40:27
  then.
• 40:28
  And
• 40:28
  I
• 40:29
  said,
• 40:29
  and
• 40:29
  because
• 40:30
  I
• 40:30
  can
• 40:30
  no
• 40:30
  longer
• 40:31
  function
• 40:31
  in
• 40:31
  my
• 40:31
  capacity
• 40:32
  as
• 40:33
  an
• 40:33
  employee
• 40:34
  of
• 40:34
  the
• 40:34
  49ers,
• 40:35
  I
• 40:35
  don't
• 40:35
  call
• 40:36
  myself
• 40:36
  a
• 40:36
  player.
• 40:36
  I
• 40:37
  was
• 40:37
  an
• 40:37
  employee.
• 40:39
  They
• 40:39
  are
• 40:39
  obliged
• 40:40
  by
• 40:40
  law
• 40:40
  to
• 40:40
  retrain
• 40:41
  me
• 40:41
  in
• 40:41
  A
• 40:41
  field
• 40:41
  of
• 40:41
  work
• 40:41
  where
• 40:42
  I
• 40:42
  make,

  quote,
• 40:42
  unquote,
• 40:43
  a
• 40:43
  comparable
• 40:43
  amount
• 40:44
  of
• 40:44
  money.
• 40:45
  This
• 40:45
  is
• 40:45
  called
• 40:45
  vocational
• 40:46
  rehab.
• 40:47
  And
• 40:48
  so
• 40:49
  we
• 40:49
  went
• 40:49
  through
• 40:50
  a
• 40:50
  big
• 40:50
  back
• 40:50
  and
• 40:51
  forth
• 40:51
  and
• 40:51
  they
• 40:51
  finally
• 40:52
  agreed.
• 40:52
  I
• 40:52
  went
• 40:52
  back
• 40:53
  and
• 40:53
  forth
• 40:54
  to
• 40:54
  school.
• 40:54
  I'm
• 40:54
  living
• 40:55
  in
• 40:55
  Sacramento
• 40:55
  all
• 40:55
  the
• 40:56
  time.
• 40:57
  I
• 40:57
  went
• 40:57
  back
• 40:58
  to
• 40:58
  school
• 40:58
  at
• 40:58
  Sacramento
• 40:59
  State
• 40:59
  to
• 40:59
  finish
• 41:00
  my
• 41:00
  biology
• 41:00
  degree.
• 41:02
  I
• 41:02
  have
• 41:03
  had
• 41:04
  four
• 41:04
  years
• 41:04
  of
• 41:04
  biology
• 41:05
  in
• 41:05
  Colorado,
• 41:05
  but
• 41:05
  I
• 41:06
  got
• 41:06
  drafted
• 41:06
  by
• 41:07
  the
• 41:07
  jets
• 41:07
  before
• 41:07
  I
• 41:08
  completed
• 41:08
  my
• 41:08
  degree.
• 41:09
  So
• 41:10
  I
• 41:10
  go
• 41:10
  back
• 41:10
  to
• 41:10
  school,
• 41:12
  four
• 41:12
  more
• 41:12
  semesters
• 41:13
  of
• 41:13
  chemistry
• 41:17
  and
• 41:17
  one
• 41:17
  10
• 41:18
  month
• 41:18
  period.
• 41:18
  86,
• 41:19
  87,
• 41:20
  10
• 41:21
  months.
• 41:22
  I
• 41:22
  had
• 41:22
  five
• 41:22
  more
• 41:22
  emergency
• 41:23
  brain
• 41:23
  surgery,
• 41:24
  several
• 41:25
  grandma
• 41:25
  fever,
• 41:27
  developed
• 41:27
  dyslexia,
• 41:28
  major
• 41:28
  short
• 41:29
  term
• 41:29
  memory
• 41:29
  disease.
• 41:31
  Took
• 41:31
  me
• 41:31
  five
• 41:32
  more
• 41:32
  years
• 41:32
  to
• 41:32
  graduate.
• 41:33
  32.
• 41:34
  Methodology.
• 41:35
  Wow.
• 41:36
  I
• 41:37
  started
• 41:37
  work
• 41:37
  as
• 41:37
  a
• 41:37
  wildlife
• 41:38
  biologist.
• 41:38
  That
• 41:39
  was
• 41:39
  my
• 41:39
  second
• 41:39
  dream.
• 41:40
  That
• 41:41
  was
• 41:41
  in
• 41:41
  1990.
• 41:43
  In
• 41:45
  93
• 41:46
  that
• 41:46
  shut,
• 41:47
  blew
• 41:47
  out.
• 41:47
  I
• 41:47
  had
• 41:48
  my
• 41:48
  diaglass
• 41:48
  surgery
• 41:50
  and
• 41:50
  I
• 41:50
  went
• 41:50
  back
• 41:50
  to
• 41:51
  work
• 41:51
  as
• 41:51
  a
• 41:51
  biologist,
• 41:53
  got
• 41:53
  married
• 41:56
  and
• 41:57
  then
• 41:57
  got
• 41:58
  married.
• 41:59
  We
• 41:59
  got
• 41:59
  married
• 42:00
  in
• 42:00
  95
• 42:02
  and
• 42:02
  I
• 42:02
  taught
• 42:03
  high
• 42:03
  school
• 42:03
  for
• 42:03
  CDN.
• 42:05
  Tell
• 42:05
  us,
• 42:05
  George,
• 42:06
  a
• 42:06
  little
• 42:06
  bit
• 42:06
  about
• 42:07
  your
• 42:07
  career
• 42:08
  in
• 42:08
  biological
• 42:10
  conservation
• 42:10
  as
• 42:11
  a
• 42:11
  wildlife
• 42:12
  biologist.
• 42:12
  Give
• 42:12
  us
• 42:13
  a
• 42:13
  little
• 42:13
  rundown
• 42:13
  on
• 42:13
  what
• 42:14
  you
• 42:14
  did
• 42:14
  then.
• 42:15
  Oh,
• 42:16
  I
• 42:16
  say
• 42:16
  I
• 42:16
  love
• 42:16
  being
• 42:17
  a
• 42:17
  biologist.
• 42:18
  So
• 42:18
  I,
• 42:18
  I
• 42:19
  got
• 42:19
  paid.
• 42:19
  I
• 42:20
  worked
• 42:20
  for
• 42:20
  a
• 42:20
  company,
• 42:20
  Jones
• 42:22
  Sacramento,
• 42:23
  and
• 42:24
  they're
• 42:24
  now
• 42:24
  icf,
• 42:25
  Jones
• 42:25
  and
• 42:25
  Stokes,
• 42:26
  a
• 42:26
  big,
• 42:26
  big
• 42:27
  company.
• 42:28
  So
• 42:28
  I
• 42:28
  was
• 42:29
  a
• 42:29
  wildlife
• 42:29
  biologist
• 42:30
  and
• 42:30
  I
• 42:30
  was
• 42:30
  the
• 42:30
  only
• 42:31
  person
• 42:31
  in
• 42:31
  the
• 42:31
  company
• 42:32
  that
• 42:32
  was
• 42:32
  labeled
• 42:33
  permanent
• 42:33
  part
• 42:33
  time.
• 42:34
  I
• 42:35
  had
• 42:35
  no
• 42:35
  set
• 42:35
  hours,
• 42:36
  but
• 42:36
  I
• 42:37
  had
• 42:37
  full
• 42:37
  benefits
• 42:38
  and
• 42:38
  all
• 42:39
  I
• 42:39
  did
• 42:39
  was
• 42:39
  field
• 42:40
  work.
• 42:41
  So
• 42:41
  I
• 42:41
  would
• 42:41
  work
• 42:41
  10
• 42:42
  days
• 42:42
  on,
• 42:42
  four
• 42:42
  days
• 42:43
  off,
• 42:44
  and
• 42:44
  I
• 42:44
  would
• 42:45
  be
• 42:45
  doing
• 42:45
  Anything
• 42:45
  from
• 42:46
  Chronicle
• 42:46
  30
• 42:47
  Cent
• 42:47
  Surveys
• 42:48
  to
• 42:49
  Electroshock
• 42:50
  screen
• 42:50
  surveys
• 42:51
  to
• 42:51
  radio
• 42:52
  telemetry,
• 42:53
  deer
• 42:53
  studies
• 42:55
  to
• 42:56
  oxy,
• 42:57
  you
• 42:57
  name
• 42:57
  it.
• 42:57
  I
• 42:58
  worked
• 42:58
  with
• 42:58
  all
• 42:58
  kinds
• 42:59
  of
• 42:59
  critters
• 42:59
  and
• 42:59
  loved
• 43:00
  it
• 43:00
  up
• 43:01
  and
• 43:01
  down
• 43:01
  the
• 43:01
  state.
• 43:02
  Did
• 43:02
  a
• 43:02
  lot
• 43:02
  of
• 43:02
  owl
• 43:03
  studies
• 43:03
  and
• 43:04
  what
• 43:04
  happened?
• 43:05
  So
• 43:05
  I
• 43:05
  did
• 43:05
  that
• 43:05
  for
• 43:06
  years.
• 43:06
  It
• 43:06
  just
• 43:06
  didn't
• 43:07
  happen.
• 43:10
  Doing
• 43:10
  my
• 43:10
  thing
• 43:11
  I
• 43:11
  didn't
• 43:11
  care
• 43:11
  about.
• 43:26
  We're
• 43:27
  talking
• 43:27
  to
• 43:27
  George
• 43:27
  Visger
• 43:28
  tonight
• 43:28
  on
• 43:29
  Sports
• 43:29
  Talk
• 43:29
  New
• 43:30
  York
• 43:30
  about
• 43:31
  traumatic
• 43:31
  brain
• 43:32
  injury,
• 43:32
  a
• 43:33
  serious
• 43:33
  topic
• 43:34
  that's
• 43:35
  arisen
• 43:36
  in
• 43:36
  the
• 43:36
  NFL
• 43:37
  during
• 43:37
  the
• 43:37
  last
• 43:38
  several
• 43:38
  years
• 43:39
  and
• 43:40
  some
• 43:40
  actions
• 43:41
  finally
• 43:42
  being
• 43:42
  taken
• 43:42
  on
• 43:42
  it.
• 43:43
  But
• 43:44
  your
• 43:44
  ninth,
• 43:45
  you
• 43:45
  had
• 43:45
  a
• 43:45
  ninth
• 43:45
  surgery
• 43:46
  in
• 43:46
  1993
• 43:47
  and
• 43:48
  after
• 43:48
  which
• 43:48
  you
• 43:49
  returned
• 43:49
  to
• 43:49
  your
• 43:49
  wildlife
• 43:50
  work,
• 43:50
  right,
• 43:50
  George?
• 43:52
  Yeah,
• 43:52
  I
• 43:53
  went
• 43:53
  in
• 43:53
  that
• 43:53
  brain
• 43:54
  surgery.
• 43:54
  That
• 43:54
  one
• 43:55
  was
• 43:55
  like,
• 43:56
  I
• 43:56
  think
• 43:56
  had
• 43:57
  surgery
• 43:57
  like
• 43:57
  on
• 43:57
  Saturday
• 43:58
  and
• 43:58
  I
• 43:58
  left
• 43:58
  the
• 43:59
  hospital
• 43:59
  Sunday,
• 44:00
  I'm
• 44:00
  looking
• 44:00
  in
• 44:01
  my
• 44:01
  old
• 44:01
  diary
• 44:02
  notes.
• 44:02
  And
• 44:02
  the
• 44:03
  next
• 44:03
  day,
• 44:03
  Monday,
• 44:03
  I'm
• 44:04
  out
• 44:04
  duck
• 44:04
  hunting.
• 44:04
  I
• 44:05
  had
• 44:05
  a
• 44:05
  nice
• 44:05
  double
• 44:06
  on
• 44:06
  mallards,
• 44:06
  I
• 44:06
  wrote.
• 44:07
  So
• 44:07
  I
• 44:08
  jumped
• 44:08
  right
• 44:08
  back.
• 44:08
  And
• 44:09
  sometimes
• 44:09
  if
• 44:09
  they
• 44:09
  went
• 44:10
  smooth,
• 44:10
  I
• 44:10
  got
• 44:10
  right
• 44:10
  back
• 44:11
  in
• 44:11
  the
• 44:11
  saddle.
• 44:11
  In
• 44:11
  fact,
• 44:12
  you
• 44:12
  know,
• 44:13
  so
• 44:13
  I
• 44:14
  went
• 44:14
  back
• 44:14
  to
• 44:14
  work
• 44:14
  as
• 44:15
  a
• 44:15
  biologist
• 44:15
  and
• 44:16
  then
• 44:16
  taught,
• 44:17
  like
• 44:17
  I
• 44:17
  said,
• 44:17
  high
• 44:17
  school
• 44:18
  for
• 44:18
  two
• 44:18
  and
• 44:18
  a
• 44:18
  half
• 44:18
  years
• 44:19
  after
• 44:20
  I
• 44:20
  got
• 44:20
  married.
• 44:21
  And
• 44:21
  then
• 44:23
  I
• 44:23
  went
• 44:24
  to
• 44:24
  work
• 44:24
  back
• 44:24
  as
• 44:25
  a
• 44:25
  biologist
• 44:25
  in
• 44:25
  1999,
• 44:28
  a
• 44:29
  company
• 44:29
  called
• 44:29
  Wildland
• 44:30
  we
• 44:30
  were
• 44:30
  building.
• 44:31
  We
• 44:31
  were
• 44:31
  the
• 44:31
  first
• 44:32
  privately
• 44:33
  owned
• 44:33
  for
• 44:34
  profit
• 44:34
  mitigation
• 44:35
  banking
• 44:35
  company
• 44:36
  in
• 44:36
  the
• 44:36
  nation.
• 44:37
  So
• 44:37
  we
• 44:38
  would
• 44:38
  build
• 44:38
  by
• 44:39
  property
• 44:40
  and
• 44:41
  we
• 44:41
  store
• 44:42
  native
• 44:43
  wetlands
• 44:44
  habitats,
• 44:45
  thermal
• 44:45
  pools,
• 44:46
  oak
• 44:46
  woodlands,
• 44:47
  and
• 44:47
  then
• 44:47
  sell
• 44:47
  credits
• 44:48
  to
• 44:48
  developers
• 44:48
  that
• 44:49
  needed
• 44:49
  to
• 44:49
  offset
• 44:51
  their
• 44:51
  impacts
• 44:52
  on
• 44:52
  the
• 44:52
  development.
• 44:54
  So
• 44:54
  I
• 44:54
  was
• 44:54
  the
• 44:54
  land
• 44:54
  manager
• 44:55
  at
• 44:55
  Wildlands
• 44:55
  for
• 44:55
  a
• 44:55
  few
• 44:56
  years
• 44:56
  and
• 44:56
  then
• 44:56
  I
• 44:56
  went
• 44:56
  off
• 44:57
  and
• 44:57
  started
• 44:57
  my
• 44:57
  own
• 44:57
  environmental
• 44:58
  consulting
• 44:58
  business
• 44:59
  in
• 45:01
  03
• 45:03
  Vista
• 45:04
  &
• 45:04
  Associates.
• 45:05
  And
• 45:05
  then
• 45:06
  in
• 45:06
  about
• 45:06
  2010,
• 45:08
  I'd
• 45:09
  always
• 45:09
  been
• 45:09
  very,
• 45:09
  very
• 45:10
  vocal
• 45:11
  about
• 45:12
  what
• 45:12
  the
• 45:12
  NFL
• 45:13
  was
• 45:13
  getting
• 45:13
  away
• 45:13
  with.
• 45:14
  That's.
• 45:14
  I
• 45:14
  wanted
• 45:15
  to
• 45:15

• 45:45
  of
• 45:45
  a
• 45:45
  sudden,
• 45:46
  and
• 45:46
  after

• 45:50

• 46:37
  I
• 46:37
  was
• 46:38

• 46:38
  when
• 46:39
  I

  And.
• 46:47
  And
• 46:47
  the
• 46:47
  49ers
• 46:48
  are
• 46:49
  doing
• 46:49
  nothing,
• 46:49
  folks.
• 46:50
  Throughout
• 46:50
  this
• 46:50
  whole,
• 46:51
  this
• 46:51

  he's
• 46:54

• 46:57
  Now.
• 46:57
  You
• 46:58
  were
• 46:58
  diagnosed
• 46:58
  with
• 46:59
  frontal
• 46:59
  lobe
• 46:59
  dementia
• 47:00
  in
• 47:01
  2010.
• 47:02
  Yeah.
• 47:04
  And
• 47:04

  cost
• 47:05
  you?

• 47:08
  Well,
• 47:08

• 47:08
  going
• 47:09
  downhill.
• 47:10
  My
• 47:10
  memory
• 47:11
  was
• 47:11
  just.
• 47:13
  I
• 47:14
  live
• 47:14
  out
• 47:14
  of
• 47:14
  notebook.
• 47:17
  Even
• 47:18
  those
• 47:18
  won't
• 47:18
  work
• 47:19
  anymore.
• 47:20
  In
• 47:20
  2010,
• 47:21
  I
• 47:21
  was
• 47:21
  diagnosed
• 47:22
  with
• 47:22
  frontal
• 47:22

• 47:22
  dementia
• 47:24
  and
• 47:25
  the
• 47:25

• 47:25
  told
• 47:26
  me
• 47:26
  that
• 47:26
  I
• 47:26
  needed
• 47:26
  to
• 47:26
  turn
• 47:26
  on
• 47:27
  my
• 47:27
  driver's
• 47:27
  license,
• 47:28

• 47:34
  And
• 47:34
  I
• 47:34
  asked
• 47:35
  him,
• 47:35
  I
• 47:35
  said,
• 47:35

  trying
• 47:37

• 47:37
  run
• 47:37
  a
• 47:38
  business.
• 47:38
  He
• 47:39
  said,
• 47:39
  well,
• 47:39
  you're
• 47:39
  never
• 47:39
  even
• 47:40
  getting
• 47:40
  better.
• 47:40
  You
• 47:40
  have
• 47:41
  dementia
• 47:43
  2010
• 47:44
  or
• 47:44

• 47:49
  And
• 47:49
  we
• 47:49
  ended
• 47:49
  up
• 47:50
  going
• 47:50
  down
• 47:50
  to
• 47:50

  life
• 49:36
  trying
• 49:36
  to
• 49:36
  fight
• 49:37
  the
• 49:37
  NFL
• 49:37
  and
• 49:38
  trying
• 49:38
  to
• 49:38
  get
• 49:39
  really
• 49:40
  cause
• 49:40
  for
• 49:41
  justification
• 49:43
  here
• 49:43
  for
• 49:43
  all
• 49:44
  he's
• 49:44
  been
• 49:44
  through.
• 49:45
  Now
• 49:45
  one
• 49:46
  good
• 49:46
  thing
• 49:46
  that
• 49:46
  came
• 49:47
  of
• 49:47
  it,
• 49:47
  George,
• 49:48
  is
• 49:48
  you
• 49:48
  met
• 49:48
  Jennifer.
• 49:51
  I
• 49:51
  tell
• 49:51
  you,
• 49:53
  there's
• 49:53
  a
• 49:54
  lot
• 49:54
  of
• 49:54
  good
• 49:54
  things
• 49:54
  that
• 49:54
  have
• 49:55
  come.
• 49:55
  I've
• 49:55
  been
• 49:55
  blessed
• 49:56
  this
• 49:56
  whole
• 49:56
  journey.
• 49:58
  Another
• 49:58
  great
• 49:59
  thing
• 49:59
  if
• 49:59
  it
• 49:59
  wasn't
• 50:00
  for
• 50:00
  my
• 50:00
  brain
• 50:00
  injury.
• 50:00
  So
• 50:01
  way
• 50:01
  back
• 50:01
  in
• 50:02
  93
• 50:05
  after
• 50:05
  I'd
• 50:06
  had
• 50:06
  just,
• 50:06
  you
• 50:06
  know,
• 50:06
  I've
• 50:07
  already
• 50:07
  had
• 50:07
  eight,
• 50:08
  I've
• 50:08
  already
• 50:09
  eight
• 50:10
  brain
• 50:10
  surgeries
• 50:10
  don't
• 50:10
  mind
• 50:11
  going
• 50:11
  to
• 50:11
  my
• 50:11
  knife
• 50:12
  and
• 50:12
  I
• 50:12
  was
• 50:13
  just
• 50:13
  so
• 50:13
  frustrated.
• 50:14
  I
• 50:14
  was
• 50:14
  just
• 50:14
  always
• 50:15
  on
• 50:15
  the
• 50:16
  verge
• 50:16
  of,
• 50:16
  I
• 50:16
  told
• 50:17
  the
• 50:17
  doctor
• 50:17
  said
• 50:17
  man,
• 50:19
  I'm
• 50:19
  on
• 50:19
  the
• 50:20
  verge
• 50:20
  of
• 50:20
  just
• 50:20
  going
• 50:20
  off
• 50:21
  on
• 50:21
  someone.
• 50:24
  And
• 50:24
  so
• 50:24
  they
• 50:24
  recommended,
• 50:25
  they
• 50:25
  said,
• 50:25
  you
• 50:25
  need
• 50:25
  to
• 50:25
  Join
• 50:26
  the
• 50:26
  gym.
• 50:26
  So
• 50:26
  I
• 50:27
  joined
• 50:27
  the
• 50:27
  gym
• 50:29
  and
• 50:29
  there
• 50:30
  lo
• 50:30
  and
• 50:30
  behold,
• 50:30
  I
• 50:30
  met
• 50:31
  Christy
• 50:31
  Kessler
• 50:32
  and
• 50:32
  little
• 50:32
  Stephanie
• 50:32
  Kessler.
• 50:33
  Steph
• 50:34
  was
• 50:34
  two
• 50:35
  and
• 50:36
  ended
• 50:36
  up
• 50:36
  marrying
• 50:36
  both
• 50:37
  of
• 50:37
  them
• 50:37
  four
• 50:37
  years.
• 50:37
  Two
• 50:38
  years
• 50:38
  later.
• 50:38
  So
• 50:39
  because
• 50:39
  of
• 50:40
  and
• 50:40
  then
• 50:41
  Christy
• 50:41
  and
• 50:41
  I,
• 50:41
  we
• 50:42
  were
• 50:42
  married
• 50:42
  for
• 50:42
  17
• 50:43
  years
• 50:43
  and
• 50:43
  we
• 50:44
  had
• 50:44
  two
• 50:44
  more
• 50:45
  beautiful
• 50:45
  kids.
• 50:46
  Amanda
• 50:47
  who
• 50:47
  just
• 50:47
  graduated
• 50:48
  from
• 50:48
  Sac
• 50:49
  State
• 50:49
  a
• 50:49
  couple
• 50:49
  years
• 50:49
  ago
• 50:50
  and
• 50:50
  gave
• 50:50
  the
• 50:50
  commencement
• 50:51
  speech.
• 50:52
  My
• 50:52
  son
• 50:52
  Jack
• 50:54
  who
• 50:54
  just
• 50:54
  graduated
• 50:55
  two
• 50:55
  weeks
• 50:56
  ago
• 50:57
  and
• 50:57
  was
• 50:57
  already
• 50:57
  hired
• 50:58
  full
• 50:58
  time
• 50:58
  with
• 50:59
  an
• 50:59
  environmental
• 51:00
  technology
• 51:00
  firm.
• 51:02
  And
• 51:03
  I've
• 51:03
  got
• 51:03
  my
• 51:03
  little
• 51:04
  stuff
• 51:04
  who
• 51:05
  I
• 51:05
  fell
• 51:06
  in
• 51:06
  love
• 51:06
  with
• 51:06
  her
• 51:06
  when
• 51:06
  she
• 51:06
  was
• 51:07
  2
• 51:07
  and
• 51:07
  married
• 51:08
  her
• 51:08
  and
• 51:08
  her
• 51:08
  mom
• 51:09
  because
• 51:09
  of
• 51:09
  my
• 51:09
  brain
• 51:09
  injury.
• 51:10
  I
• 51:10
  have
• 51:10
  this
• 51:10
  beautiful
• 51:11
  family.
• 51:13
  And
• 51:13
  then
• 51:13
  Fast
• 51:13
  forward
• 51:14
  to
• 51:15
  201617
• 51:19
  when
• 51:19
  I'm
• 51:19
  living
• 51:20
  at
• 51:20
  center
• 51:20
  for
• 51:20
  Neuroscience
• 51:21
  in
• 51:21
  the
• 51:21
  Bay
• 51:22
  Area.
• 51:22
  After
• 51:22
  numerous
• 51:24
  work
• 51:24
  caught
• 51:24
  hearings
• 51:25
  and
• 51:25
  battles
• 51:26
  and
• 51:26
  skills,
• 51:27
  while
• 51:28
  I'm
• 51:28
  living
• 51:28
  there
• 51:28
  getting
• 51:29
  treatment,
• 51:29
  I
• 51:30
  joined
• 51:30
  a
• 51:30
  gym
• 51:32
  and
• 51:32
  I
• 51:32
  meet
• 51:32
  the
• 51:32
  love
• 51:32
  of
• 51:33
  my
• 51:33
  life,
• 51:33
  Jennifer,
• 51:34
  who
• 51:34
  we
• 51:34
  got
• 51:34
  married
• 51:35
  three
• 51:35
  years
• 51:35
  ago,
• 51:36
  moved
• 51:36
  out
• 51:36
  here
• 51:36
  to
• 51:37
  Idaho.
• 51:38
  Nice.
• 51:40
  Literally
• 51:40
  because
• 51:41
  of
• 51:41
  my
• 51:41
  injury.
• 51:43
  And
• 51:43
  Jennifer
• 51:44
  and
• 51:44
  Christy
• 51:45
  are
• 51:46
  amazing.
• 51:46
  They
• 51:47
  love
• 51:47
  each
• 51:47
  other.
• 51:48
  They're
• 51:48
  so
• 51:48
  thankful
• 51:48
  for
• 51:49
  each
• 51:49
  other
• 51:49
  because
• 51:50
  of
• 51:50
  my
• 51:50
  injury.
• 51:51
  I
• 51:51
  have
• 51:51
  the
• 51:51
  most
• 51:51
  amazing
• 51:53
  family.
• 51:54
  I
• 51:54
  love
• 51:55
  the
• 51:55
  death.
• 51:55
  I'm
• 51:56
  proud
• 51:56
  of.
• 51:57
  I
• 51:57
  wouldn't
• 51:58
  have
• 51:58
  any
• 51:58
  of
• 51:58
  them
• 51:59
  had
• 51:59
  I
• 51:59
  not
• 51:59
  been
• 51:59
  injured.
• 52:00
  Right.
• 52:01
  I
• 52:01
  was
• 52:01
  going
• 52:01
  to
• 52:01
  say,
• 52:02
  George,
• 52:02
  you
• 52:02
  would
• 52:03
  probably
• 52:03
  not
• 52:04
  trade
• 52:05
  anything
• 52:05
  that
• 52:05
  happened
• 52:06
  to
• 52:06
  you
• 52:06
  during
• 52:06
  your
• 52:07
  life
• 52:08
  for
• 52:08
  your
• 52:08
  family,
• 52:08
  would
• 52:09
  you?
• 52:10
  No,
• 52:10
  I
• 52:11
  wouldn't.
• 52:11
  Not
• 52:11
  at
• 52:11
  all.
• 52:12
  Definitely.
• 52:14
  I
• 52:14
  can
• 52:14
  see
• 52:14
  that.
• 52:15
  George
• 52:15
  Visger
• 52:16
  with
• 52:16
  us
• 52:16
  tonight
• 52:16
  again
• 52:17
  on
• 52:17
  Sports
• 52:17
  Talk
• 52:18
  New
• 52:18
  York.
• 52:18
  Facing
• 52:19
  Giants
• 52:19
  is
• 52:19
  the
• 52:19
  book.
• 52:21
  Now
• 52:21
  you
• 52:22
  faced
• 52:23
  Giants
• 52:24
  two
• 52:24
  out
• 52:24
  of
• 52:24
  three
• 52:25
  on
• 52:25
  2019,
• 52:28
  the
• 52:28
  hearing
• 52:28
  against
• 52:29
  travelers.
• 52:30
  What
• 52:30
  happened
• 52:30
  with
• 52:30
  those
• 52:31
  guys?
• 52:33
  So
• 52:35
  a
• 52:35
  year
• 52:35
  or
• 52:35
  two
• 52:36
  prior
• 52:36
  to
• 52:36
  that,
• 52:36
  in
• 52:37
  2000,
• 52:38
  I'm
• 52:39
  losing
• 52:39
  time
• 52:39
  maybe
• 52:41
  10
• 52:41
  or
• 52:41
  11.
• 52:42
  Jason
• 52:42
  Lukashevich,
• 52:43
  an
• 52:43
  attorney
• 52:43
  back
• 52:44
  in
• 52:44
  Pittsburgh,
• 52:45
  Pennsylvania
• 52:46
  called
• 52:46
  me
• 52:46
  right
• 52:47
  after
• 52:47
  the
• 52:48
  GT
• 52:49
  magazine
• 52:50
  on
• 52:50
  Dr.
• 52:50
  Mallow.
• 52:51
  The
• 52:51
  magazine
• 52:52
  article
• 52:52
  was
• 52:52
  called
• 52:53
  Game
• 52:53
  Brain,
• 52:54
  the
• 52:54
  NFL
• 52:54
  Cover
• 52:54
  Up
• 52:55
  Brain.
• 52:56
  So
• 52:56
  Jason
• 52:57
  Lusevich
• 52:58
  worked
• 52:59
  for
• 52:59
  a
• 52:59
  firm
• 52:59
  back
• 52:59
  out
• 53:00
  in,
• 53:01
  in
• 53:01
  Pittsburgh,
• 53:02
  Kirsty
• 53:02
  White.
• 53:03
  And
• 53:05
  anyway,
• 53:05
  so
• 53:05
  he
• 53:06
  called
• 53:06
  me
• 53:06
  up
• 53:07
  and
• 53:07
  said
• 53:07
  he's
• 53:08
  looking
• 53:08
  into
• 53:08
  a
• 53:08
  potential
• 53:09
  class
• 53:09
  action.
• 53:12
  I
• 53:13
  said
• 53:13
  well
• 53:13
  find
• 53:13
  your
• 53:13
  boy
• 53:14
  to
• 53:14
  talk
• 53:14
  to.
• 53:16
  So
• 53:16
  Jason
• 53:17
  was
• 53:17
  the
• 53:17
  one
• 53:17
  that
• 53:18
  instigated
• 53:18
  this
• 53:19
  the
• 53:19
  entire
• 53:20
  he
• 53:21
  started
• 53:21
  that
• 53:21
  whole
• 53:22
  what
• 53:22
  ended
• 53:22
  up
• 53:22
  being
• 53:23
  a
• 53:23
  billion
• 53:23
  dollar
• 53:23
  plus
• 53:25
  lawsuit
• 53:26
  that
• 53:27
  the
• 53:27
  NFL
• 53:27
  law.
• 53:28
  And
• 53:29
  Jason,
• 53:29
  like
• 53:29
  I
• 53:30
  said,
• 53:30
  there's
• 53:30
  a
• 53:30
  lot
• 53:30
  of
• 53:30
  other
• 53:30
  big
• 53:31
  firms
• 53:31
  that
• 53:31
  stepped
• 53:32
  in
• 53:32
  and
• 53:32
  took
• 53:32
  claims.
• 53:33
  Jason
• 53:33
  was
• 53:34
  the
• 53:34
  one
• 53:34
  that
• 53:34
  filed
• 53:34
  the
• 53:34
  very
• 53:35
  first
• 53:35
  suit.
• 53:36
  There
• 53:36
  were
• 53:36
  55
• 53:37
  of
• 53:37
  us
• 53:37
  on
• 53:38
  the
• 53:38
  first
• 53:38
  suit
• 53:38
  on
• 53:39
  the
• 53:39
  22nd
• 53:39
  main
• 53:40
  plaintiff.
• 53:41
  And
• 53:41
  I
• 53:41
  was
• 53:41
  one
• 53:41
  of
• 53:42
  seven
• 53:42
  guys
• 53:43
  who
• 53:43
  flew
• 53:43
  back
• 53:44
  to
• 53:44
  Trust
• 53:44
  Club
• 53:44
  in
• 53:45
  Washington,
• 53:45
  D.C.
• 53:46
  that
• 53:46
  he
• 53:46
  unveiled
• 53:47
  the
• 53:47
  suit.
• 53:48
  So
• 53:49
  that
• 53:49
  suit
• 53:49
  came
• 53:49
  out
• 53:50
  then.
• 53:50
  That
• 53:50
  was
• 53:50
  one.
• 53:51
  And
• 53:52
  again,
• 53:52
  it's
• 53:52
  kind
• 53:52
  of
• 53:52
  hard
• 53:53
  to
• 53:53
  keep
• 53:53
  track,
• 53:53
  but
• 53:53
  probably,
• 53:54
  like,
• 53:54
  2017,
• 53:57
  and
• 53:57
  the
• 53:57
  way
• 53:57
  they
• 53:57
  had
• 53:58
  it
• 53:58
  set
• 53:58
  up,
• 53:58
  it
• 53:58
  was
• 53:58
  really
• 53:59
  screwed
• 53:59
  up.
• 53:59
  But
• 53:59
  I
• 53:59
  was
• 54:00
  gonna
• 54:00
  get,
• 54:00
  like,
• 54:00
  20%
• 54:01
  of
• 54:01
  what
• 54:02
  I
• 54:02
  qualified
• 54:02
  for.
• 54:03
  I
• 54:03
  was
• 54:03
  gonna
• 54:03
  get
• 54:03
  a
• 54:03
  little
• 54:03
  chunk
• 54:04
  or
• 54:04
  something.
• 54:05
  But
• 54:05
  I
• 54:05
  was
• 54:06
  homeless.
• 54:06
  I'd
• 54:06
  been
• 54:06
  homeless
• 54:07
  for
• 54:07
  years.
• 54:07
  I
• 54:07
  slept
• 54:07
  on
• 54:08
  the
• 54:08
  floor
• 54:08
  to
• 54:08
  have
• 54:08
  a
• 54:08
  dirt
• 54:09
  clinic
• 54:09
  for
• 54:09
  two
• 54:09
  and
• 54:09
  a
• 54:09
  half
• 54:10
  years.
• 54:10
  I
• 54:11
  slept
• 54:11
  in
• 54:11
  my
• 54:11
  brother's
• 54:12
  trailer
• 54:12
  for
• 54:12
  a
• 54:12
  year.
• 54:13
  I
• 54:13
  slept
• 54:14
  wherever
• 54:14
  I
• 54:14
  could.
• 54:15
  And
• 54:15
  so
• 54:16
  I'm
• 54:16
  going
• 54:16
  to
• 54:16
  get
• 54:16
  this
• 54:17
  settlement.
• 54:18
  And
• 54:18
  I'm
• 54:19
  thinking,
• 54:19
  okay,
• 54:19
  great.
• 54:20
  And
• 54:20
  my
• 54:20
  kids,
• 54:21
  they
• 54:21
  slept
• 54:21
  on
• 54:22
  couches
• 54:22
  and
• 54:22
  airbeds
• 54:23
  at
• 54:23
  Grandma,
• 54:24
  commuted
• 54:25
  an
• 54:25
  hour
• 54:25
  each
• 54:25
  way
• 54:26
  to
• 54:26
  school.
• 54:27
  You
• 54:27
  know,
• 54:28
  my
• 54:28
  family
• 54:29
  went
• 54:29
  through
• 54:29
  hell.
• 54:30
  Well,
• 54:30
  here
• 54:30
  is.
• 54:31
  I'm
• 54:31
  going
• 54:31
  to
• 54:31
  get
• 54:31
  this
• 54:31
  little
• 54:31
  settlement,
• 54:32
  and
• 54:33
  I'm
• 54:33
  going
• 54:33
  to
• 54:33
  get
• 54:33
  my
• 54:33
  family
• 54:34
  back
• 54:34
  in
• 54:34
  a
• 54:34
  home.
• 54:35
  And
• 54:35
  within
• 54:36
  a
• 54:36
  week
• 54:36
  of
• 54:36
  me
• 54:36
  being
• 54:37
  approved
• 54:37
  for
• 54:37
  the
• 54:37
  NFL
• 54:38
  settlement,
• 54:39
  the
• 54:39
  Travelers
• 54:39
  filed
• 54:40
  a
• 54:40
  $615,000
• 54:41
  lien
• 54:42
  on
• 54:43
  my
• 54:43
  NFL
• 54:43
  settlement,
• 54:44
  which
• 54:44
  was
• 54:44
  even
• 54:44
  more
• 54:44
  than
• 54:44
  I
• 54:44
  was
• 54:45
  even
• 54:45
  going
• 54:45
  to
• 54:45
  get.
• 54:47
  So,
• 54:47
  in
• 54:47
  19,
• 54:48
  we
• 54:48
  finally
• 54:48
  come
• 54:49
  to
• 54:49
  court.
• 54:50
  We
• 54:51
  go
• 54:51
  to
• 54:51
  a
• 54:51
  mediation
• 54:52
  hearing.
• 54:52
  We're
• 54:52
  going
• 54:52
  to
• 54:52
  try
• 54:52
  to
• 54:53
  remove
• 54:53
  the
• 54:53
  lien
• 54:53
  from
• 54:54
  the
• 54:54
  NFL
• 54:54
  drain
• 54:55
  pursuit
• 54:56
  and
• 54:56
  then
• 54:56
  settle
• 54:57
  my.
• 54:57
  My
• 54:57
  work
• 54:58
  comp.
• 54:58
  Me
• 54:58
  and
• 54:59
  work
• 54:59
  comp.
• 54:59
  Drain
• 55:00
  pursuit
• 55:00
  once
• 55:00
  and
• 55:01
  for
• 55:01
  all.
• 55:01
  Outstanding.
• 55:02
  So.
• 55:03
  Oh,
• 55:03
  the
• 55:04
  problem
• 55:04
  was
• 55:04
  so
• 55:05
  19
• 55:06
  when
• 55:06
  I
• 55:06
  beat
• 55:06
  them.
• 55:07
  The
• 55:07
  NFL
• 55:08
  grossed
• 55:08
  19
• 55:09
  billion,
• 55:10
  and
• 55:10
  the
• 55:10
  travelers
• 55:11
  grossed
• 55:12
  $26.3
• 55:13
  billion.
• 55:15
  Not
• 55:16
  too
• 55:16
  bad.
• 55:17
  They're,
• 55:17
  like,
• 55:17
  50%
• 55:18
  bigger
• 55:19
  than
• 55:19
  the
• 55:19
  NFL.
• 55:19
  Yeah,
• 55:21
  they're
• 55:21
  freaking
• 55:21
  monstrous.
• 55:22
  Well,
• 55:22
  George,
• 55:23
  I'll
• 55:23
  tell
• 55:23
  you,
• 55:24
  you're
• 55:24
  not
• 55:24
  the
• 55:25
  first
• 55:25
  guy
• 55:25
  we've
• 55:25
  had
• 55:25
  on
• 55:26
  the
• 55:26
  show
• 55:26
  about
• 55:27
  traumatic
• 55:27

• 55:27
  injuries,
• 55:29
  God
• 55:29
  rest
• 55:29
  his
• 55:30

• 55:30
  Conrad

• 55:31

• 55:31

• 55:32

• 55:32
  Joe
• 55:32
  de
• 55:32

• 55:33

• 55:34

• 55:34

• 55:34

• 55:34

• 55:35
  and
• 55:36
  these
• 55:36
  guys
• 55:37
  have
• 55:37
  been
• 55:37
  through
• 55:38
  similar.
• 55:39
  I
• 55:39
  can't
• 55:39
  say
• 55:40
  as
• 55:40
  serious
• 55:41
  as
• 55:41
  you,
• 55:42
  but
• 55:43
  again,
• 55:43
  folks,
• 55:44
  it
• 55:44
  is
• 55:45
  a
• 55:46
  tough
• 55:46
  subject,
• 55:47
  but
• 55:47
  George,
• 55:48
  as
• 55:48
  he
• 55:49
  said,
• 55:49
  has
• 55:49
  been
• 55:49
  blessed
• 55:50
  beyond
• 55:50
  his
• 55:50
  wildest
• 55:51
  imagination.
• 55:52
  Everyone
• 55:52
  is
• 55:53
  back
• 55:53
  together.
• 55:53
  Everyone's
• 55:54
  healthy.
• 55:55
  George,
• 55:56
  the
• 55:56
  folks
• 55:56
  can
• 55:56
  get
• 55:57
  the
• 55:57

• 55:59
  correct?
• 56:01
  Yeah.
• 56:01
  Now,
• 56:01
  that's
• 56:02

• 56:07

• 56:08
  going
• 56:08
  to
• 56:08
  make
• 56:08
  200,
• 56:09
  but
• 56:09
  I
• 56:09
  think
• 56:09
  they've
• 56:09
  already
• 56:10
  sold
• 56:10
  more
• 56:10
  than
• 56:11
  that
• 56:11
  right
• 56:11
  now.
• 56:11
  Nice.
• 56:12
  They
• 56:13
  may
• 56:13
  be
• 56:13

• 56:14
  They
• 56:14
  may

  not,
• 56:16
  the
