- 1:13Speaker 2: That's what I'm understanding.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Sports Equinox.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Sports Equinox.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Sports Equinox, man. Equinox has to do with the solar system, right?
- 1:18Speaker 3: Everything's aligned?
- 1:18Speaker 1: Everything's aligned.
- 1:20Speaker 4: You get that equinox when it feels like a solar thing.
- 1:23Speaker 5: We don't know the solar system.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Yeah, we don't even know if the solar system is real. Like,
- 1:26Speaker 3: what is real? That's not this part of the show.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Big 12. Just when you start to pat them on
- 1:32Speaker 3: the ass.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Should that be our wake-up call? Our wake-up call presented
- 1:36Speaker 1: by Doug?
- 1:37Speaker 3: Yeah, let's take a journey down to Big 12. BYU
- 1:41Speaker 3: sits there and they have the biggest win in the
- 1:43Speaker 3: history of the Big 12.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Is that the history of the Big 12?
- 1:47Speaker 1: The history of the Big 12?
- 1:48Speaker 4: I mean, come on.
- 1:49Speaker 5: Of a non-Texas Oklahoma Big 12? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:51Speaker 4: You knew it was there, a Big 12.
- 1:53Speaker 3: We sit there and last year, BYU gets let out
- 1:57Speaker 3: of the playoffs. They were 11-1 in the regular season.
- 1:59Speaker 3: They go into the Big 12 championship. This is how
- 2:01Speaker 3: little respect the college football bracket people, playoff people have
- 2:04Speaker 3: of the Big 12. Big 12 is like, okay, you're
- 2:07Speaker 3: out of the playoffs.
- 2:08Speaker 1: That's it.
- 2:08Speaker 3: You go and beat a Notre Dame team who so
- 2:11Speaker 3: many people have said, this is one of the best rosters.
- 2:14Speaker 3: They're probably going to win the national championship. BYU is
- 2:18Speaker 3: one of their real games, but we're talking before the
- 2:20Speaker 3: week about how much BYU is going to win by.
- 2:23Speaker 3: BYU wins that game. Bear Bachmeier goes off and then
- 2:26Speaker 3: they have to travel to Florida and lay an egg
- 2:30Speaker 3: right after that. And it's like, you should be surprised,
- 2:33Speaker 3: but also the last two weeks of college football have
- 2:35Speaker 3: been Absolutely insane.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but the pressure on the Big 12, because we
- 2:40Speaker 1: had them in the A-gap going into that BYU-Notre Dame.
- 2:43Speaker 1: It was a massive weekend for Big 12 football.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:46Speaker 1: And again, this one, everybody, it's kind of the seduction
- 2:49Speaker 1: of success across all of college football. You get to
- 2:52Speaker 1: a place to where everybody is patting you on the ass,
- 2:55Speaker 1: and the next week you go and lose a game
- 2:57Speaker 1: that you shouldn't lose. Like, did I take UCF as
- 2:59Speaker 1: a dog?
- 2:59Speaker 6: Yes.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Did I think that they were actually going to win?
- 3:01Speaker 1: Absolutely not, bro. But a dog nonetheless. That's a great.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Even before the chaotic, these last two weeks of 2026,
- 3:09Speaker 3: any time a team would have a massive win, they'd
- 3:12Speaker 3: usually be like, well, okay, they're not getting all their...
- 3:14Speaker 3: They're not in full gear going into the next week
- 3:16Speaker 3: where they still win the game.
- 3:17Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 3: But now it's just complete, hey, you get a massive win,
- 3:20Speaker 3: the next week a muffin's beating you. Or a team
- 3:22Speaker 3: that you're, you know, multiple touchdown favorites against are beating you.
- 3:26Speaker 4: It is just nuts.
- 3:27Speaker 1: And in Busted and Paid on Campus, one of the
- 3:29Speaker 1: topics on Busted Around was It was what is going
- 3:32Speaker 1: to get big 12 is going to get as many
- 3:34Speaker 1: as the SEC into as many or more. And that
- 3:38Speaker 1: weekend right there, because I want to say we were
- 3:40Speaker 1: having the conversation. It was like no two loss regular season.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Big 12 team is going to get in. And that
- 3:44Speaker 1: weekend right there, Cincinnati takes down Texas Tech, BYU loses
- 3:49Speaker 1: to UCF. There was another one that happened too.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Wasn't there? Houston lost to Utah.
- 3:54Speaker 1: That's right, but that was like a top 15 game.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, a top 15 game.
- 3:57Speaker 3: And the thing that's crazy is, yeah, that conversation, which
- 4:01Speaker 3: that was a real, there was real substance to that
- 4:03Speaker 3: because a lot of the way the SEC's eating each
- 4:05Speaker 3: other up, like, yeah, maybe some of these one loss,
- 4:08Speaker 3: two loss, big 12 teams, because the way these top
- 4:10Speaker 3: four teams have kind of set out is they don't
- 4:12Speaker 3: all play each other. So BYU, they've got Utah later
- 4:15Speaker 3: in the year, I believe it is.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Utah, yeah, you got Utah, BYU.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Utah, BYU.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Texas Tech doesn't play any other team. They've already played Houston.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Houston's now out of it. But if Utah and Texas
- 4:26Speaker 3: Tech are the two teams that go in and they
- 4:29Speaker 3: don't lose from here on out, that's how you get
- 4:30Speaker 3: two teams from the Big 12 in. I don't see
- 4:33Speaker 3: another way that more than two teams get in from
- 4:36Speaker 3: the Big 12, just on what we've seen in the past.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Here would be the only way. is if Utah wins out,
- 4:43Speaker 1: because that, wait, no, no, no, no. Well, no, if
- 4:45Speaker 1: BYU beats Utah.
- 4:46Speaker 4: BYU beats, then.
- 4:48Speaker 1: BYU wins out. Utah has one loss. BYU has one loss.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Texas Tech has to win out. They have one loss.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Two of those teams will play for the Big 12 title,
- 4:56Speaker 1: so you'll have, that is where at most that they
- 4:58Speaker 1: could have three. Houston's season was last, was over the weekend.
- 5:02Speaker 1: They had to beat Utah, because again, there's going to
- 5:04Speaker 1: be no Two lost regular season Big 12 teams that
- 5:07Speaker 1: are going to get in the playoff.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Let me ask you this. LSU has lost two games,
- 5:11Speaker 3: one to Kentucky, one to Ole Miss. But how many
- 5:14Speaker 3: ranked wins do they have? They have two ranked wins
- 5:16Speaker 3: as well. They also have to play Alabama and Texas
- 5:19Speaker 3: still in the regular season.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And Tennessee.
- 5:22Speaker 3: And Tennessee, excuse me. So they have three ranked games left.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Let's say they win two out of those three, and
- 5:26Speaker 3: they're a three-loss SEC team with all those top 25 wins.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Are you going to take them out of the playoffs
- 5:32Speaker 3: to put in a two-loss Big 12 team?
- 5:35Speaker 1: No, no, no, no.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Absolutely not.
- 5:36Speaker 1: You can't do it. Three lost SEC teams are getting in.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Three lost SEC teams. At this moment, at this moment
- 5:42Speaker 3: right now, because I don't want to disrespect the Big 12,
- 5:44Speaker 3: but what we're seeing out of the SEC right now,
- 5:46Speaker 3: all the arguments prior to going into this Big 10
- 5:49Speaker 3: is the best conference, like the SEC is the.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Best conference right now. They are.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Chewing each other up and spitting each other out. We'll
- 5:56Speaker 3: see what happens in the playoffs and how that all goes.
- 5:58Speaker 3: But if you're going to take, you can't take a
- 6:00Speaker 3: three loss LSU team and then put in a two
- 6:04Speaker 3: loss BYU or a two loss.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. BYU, Houston.
- 6:08Speaker 4: I guess that would be the only. And the way
- 6:11Speaker 4: we saw Texas Tech.
- 6:12Speaker 1: The Big 12 fans, I think that you guys understand that.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I think that they understand that. They do have ops
- 6:18Speaker 1: to get three in there. They're demanding more respect.
- 6:21Speaker 3: However, it's like you have to do more things in
- 6:23Speaker 3: order to get the respect. And they're kind of doing
- 6:26Speaker 3: it in a lot of ways. They're eating each other up.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Big 12 has been like, obviously you have the SEC,
- 6:31Speaker 1: how the whole every week teams are beating everybody. But
- 6:35Speaker 1: the Big 12 has felt like the most exciting conference
- 6:37Speaker 1: as far as expectations in the preseason going into it.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Because it was Texas Tech and then maybe BYU, maybe
- 6:43Speaker 1: everybody else. But now you have about four teams, and
- 6:46Speaker 1: there are five, too. Oklahoma State, they can still make
- 6:49Speaker 1: it very interesting. Now, are they going to get in
- 6:51Speaker 1: the college football playoff? Absolutely. Who knows? Who knows? Right now,
- 6:55Speaker 1: it doesn't look that way, but you just never know
- 6:57Speaker 1: because you have all these teams. And even Arizona. Arizona
- 6:59Speaker 1: fans are probably sitting there right now like, you haven't
- 7:01Speaker 1: even mentioned the Wildcats, bro.
- 7:03Speaker 5: Sneaky.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Sneaky.
- 7:05Speaker 2: BYU.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Only loss is the BYU. And they've looked good. What's
- 7:09Speaker 3: that quarterback's name?
- 7:10Speaker 1: Noah Fafita. Fafita. Yeah, Fafita, bro.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Yeah, he's nice, bro.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Listen, what's interesting about this conversation is the SEC is
- 7:18Speaker 3: eating each other up. Seems like the Big 12 is
- 7:20Speaker 3: doing that. And the Big 10 is also doing that
- 7:22Speaker 3: right now. UCLA is the only undefeated team in the
- 7:23Speaker 3: Big 10. But it's interesting how we look at the
- 7:27Speaker 3: SEC and be like, oh, look how exciting. All the
- 7:29Speaker 3: points being scored and everything. But then we look at
- 7:30Speaker 3: the Big Ten, who's essentially doing the same thing right now.
- 7:33Speaker 3: But we're kind of disappointed to see the Big Ten
- 7:35Speaker 3: handling it the way it is. It's just way more
- 7:38Speaker 3: defensively loaded. And the SEC is like, there's fireworks over
- 7:42Speaker 3: and over again. But essentially, the same two things are
- 7:45Speaker 3: taking place in the biggest two conferences.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Can you bring up LSU's schedule? Because I have a
- 7:51Speaker 3: question for everybody. This week, Arizona plays Texas Tech at
- 7:54Speaker 3: Texas Tech. Well, who knows with that game. Texas Tech
- 7:56Speaker 3: just dropped to Cincinnati. We haven't even talked about that. TCU,
- 7:59Speaker 3: you never know when Jaden Craig's going to go off.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Cody will be the first one to tell you that.
- 8:02Speaker 3: They also got Utah, Kansas State. Okay, so I'm starting
- 8:05Speaker 3: to realize how Arizona's not being talked about as much.
- 8:07Speaker 3: They've got a bit of a gauntlet.
- 8:08Speaker 5: They do.
- 8:09Speaker 3: These last five games of the season. But go ahead,
- 8:11Speaker 3: pull up LSU's schedule. They got Texas at home. They
- 8:14Speaker 3: got Alabama... at home, and I think they're away at Tennessee.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Am I correct saying that, Jack?
- 8:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:21Speaker 1: LSU's going to have every, like, they look good. They
- 8:22Speaker 1: look damn good. They beat the hell out of Auburn
- 8:25Speaker 1: over the weekend. And they have all of the opportunities
- 8:27Speaker 1: right here to prove you got Bama here in November, Texas, Tennessee.
- 8:33Speaker 1: But scroll up, because you mentioned something that I sit
- 8:35Speaker 1: there and, like, I grapple with. And it's go, keep going?
- 8:40Speaker 3: All the way to their first game.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Yeah, their first game. You got Clemson, Louisiana Tech. They
- 8:45Speaker 1: lost to Ole Miss. Now, scroll down just a little
- 8:48Speaker 1: bit to where Texas A & M is in the
- 8:49Speaker 1: picture and what, Mississippi State, I guess. When you mentioned
- 8:54Speaker 1: that LSU has two ranked wins, this is where I
- 8:58Speaker 1: have an issue. is because Texas A & M was
- 9:02Speaker 1: ranked at the time, but that is not a top
- 9:04Speaker 1: 25 team. They're not even close to a top. Same
- 9:06Speaker 1: with Mississippi State. It's a completely different team without Kamario Taylor.
- 9:11Speaker 1: He went in there and tried to play a little bit,
- 9:13Speaker 1: seemed like on an 80% turf toe, and he found
- 9:16Speaker 1: out very quick that you're just not able to do that.
- 9:18Speaker 1: So he exited the game. But when LSU fans are...
- 9:22Speaker 1: Some of these pockets of fans that talk about, we
- 9:24Speaker 1: have these couple ranked wins on the season. In my brain,
- 9:27Speaker 1: it's like, yeah, they might have been ranked at the time,
- 9:29Speaker 1: but we all know now through eight weeks, like A &
- 9:30Speaker 1: M and Mississippi State without Kamario Taylor, like in my opinion,
- 9:34Speaker 1: like those just aren't ranked wins.
- 9:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Like you'll use them for the whole resume argument, but
- 9:40Speaker 1: A & M is not, they were overrated to start
- 9:43Speaker 1: the season and they're showing that they, now they had Alabama,
- 9:47Speaker 1: you know, I know Alabama had a lot of injuries.
- 9:50Speaker 1: They had Alabama on the ropes there for a little bit,
- 9:52Speaker 1: but A & M is just not shown. They're not
- 9:54Speaker 1: even close to a ranked football team.
- 9:55Speaker 4: That's a fair point.
- 9:56Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 9:57Speaker 3: Yeah, because I'm looking at things as how they started.
- 9:59Speaker 3: You're looking at things where they sit now. It's a
- 10:01Speaker 3: great point.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Because I think about teams that have beat Oregon. They're like, oh,
- 10:04Speaker 1: we beat a top 10 football team. No, you didn't, bro.
- 10:08Speaker 4: They beat a top 10 roster.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Money spent. I mean, it's a good point. The way
- 10:14Speaker 1: Oregon's looked, it's like, yeah. Like even, and I'm not even,
- 10:18Speaker 1: this has nothing to do with you Michigan.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 10:20Speaker 1: But it's like people claiming that, oh, Oklahoma took down
- 10:24Speaker 1: or Oklahoma has this because Kentucky, they beat Oklahoma. They're
- 10:27Speaker 1: hanging on whatever, all their wins that they've had too.
- 10:30Speaker 1: But it's like anybody sitting there claiming that they've taken
- 10:32Speaker 1: down a ranked Michigan team. It's like, is that a
- 10:34Speaker 1: ranked team right now? Their defense is absolutely loaded.
- 10:37Speaker 3: That's disgusting.
- 10:38Speaker 1: But do you know what I'm saying?
- 10:40Speaker 4: You're absolutely right.
- 10:41Speaker 3: And I'm honestly leaning with you a little bit. Like
- 10:44Speaker 3: if we look at LSU schedule where it stands right now,
- 10:47Speaker 3: there's nothing that goes, ooh. Like that's a national championship
- 10:51Speaker 3: contending team. Early in the season, we looked at the
- 10:53Speaker 3: gauntlet they had and we got a little worried about it.
- 10:55Speaker 3: But going through it, yeah. Like your season starts now, essentially.
- 10:58Speaker 3: You have your bye week. And then your first real
- 11:00Speaker 3: game is Alabama, who's proven to be a top 15 team.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Scroll down. Texas, they were number one just a couple
- 11:06Speaker 4: of weeks ago. Now they're 11. They just almost gave
- 11:10Speaker 4: up a, what, 24 to three lead at half?
- 11:13Speaker 3: Tennessee, you got to assume that Faison is back, right?
- 11:19Speaker 4: By this point, Tennessee by November 21st.
- 11:22Speaker 7: I think George is gonna be the guy for.
- 11:24Speaker 1: The rest of the season. I think what you've seen,
- 11:26Speaker 1: you gotta rock with McIntyre. He's gotten better every week, bro.
- 11:30Speaker 1: And obviously the penalties, the three touchdowns that got called back,
- 11:33Speaker 1: because they unfortunately, they were penalties. But the way McIntyre's looked, man,
- 11:39Speaker 1: we were talking about in the Bama game, like he
- 11:40Speaker 1: was a little urgent. He's got to slow everything down,
- 11:42Speaker 1: but he's just, he's done nothing but get better every week.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Tennessee's run game is awesome. Their defense is awesome. And
- 11:48Speaker 1: McIntyre is going to be able to operate offensively to
- 11:50Speaker 1: where I'm like, yo, Tennessee's kind of a, they're a
- 11:53Speaker 1: little bit, now that's coming off of just getting upset
- 11:55Speaker 1: in Cocktober.
- 11:56Speaker 4: I still feel like Tennessee's a whack Cocktober, but also
- 11:59Speaker 4: they didn't have to buy it. I still know they're
- 12:01Speaker 4: 11 because my first, I was, uh, I was busting
- 12:05Speaker 4: Coop's balls. I was like, why did you not tell
- 12:07Speaker 4: me that I forgot to put Wake Forest in there?
- 12:09Speaker 4: Like they deleted on my list. So Wake Forest just
- 12:11Speaker 4: wasn't in the list. I was wondering why I was
- 12:13Speaker 4: late for a second.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I was like, okay, New Mexico. And then I forget
- 12:16Speaker 1: who I put in 25th. I think I just threw
- 12:18Speaker 1: Mizzou in there. But then when somebody's like, yo, where's
- 12:21Speaker 1: Wake Forest? And I'm like, yeah, where in the fuck
- 12:23Speaker 1: is Wake Forest? What am I doing? I like Wake Forest.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Wake Forest is nice.
- 12:28Speaker 1: I had Tennessee going back one, slotted one. To me,
- 12:32Speaker 1: watching Tennessee- Like, that was so much of a letdown
- 12:37Speaker 1: spot as well. And they didn't look like a letdown team,
- 12:43Speaker 1: if that even makes sense. It's like Ole Miss whoops
- 12:46Speaker 1: or beats LSU and then goes in and gets killed
- 12:48Speaker 1: by Florida. Florida goes in and then drops a bag
- 12:51Speaker 1: when they look bad against Mizzou. Like this one, the
- 12:54Speaker 1: line was South Carolina was favored. Massive letdown spot, eight
- 12:57Speaker 1: games in a row. I thought Tennessee looked damn good.
- 12:59Speaker 1: It came down, obviously, to that last series. That game
- 13:02Speaker 1: was incredible. It's like, I'm still high on Tennessee. They
- 13:05Speaker 1: got beaten cocked over.
- 13:07Speaker 3: They got beat elite defense, too.
- 13:08Speaker 1: They got beaten cocked over. Dylan Stewart makes a hell
- 13:11Speaker 1: of a play getting that ball out. South Carolina almost
- 13:15Speaker 1: messes the entire operation up. Try to throw a screen.
- 13:18Speaker 2: As we do.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Throw a screen pass to the edge. A buddy drops it.
- 13:23Speaker 1: They throw an incomplete pass because they're trying to throw
- 13:25Speaker 1: the ball downfield. Now, they had him. But they had
- 13:28Speaker 1: an incomplete pass throwing it. It's now third down. They
- 13:30Speaker 1: get a, what, false start? Yeah, false start. False start
- 13:34Speaker 1: backs them up. They're now out of field goal range.
- 13:36Speaker 1: And then, you know, fortunately, they get back in field
- 13:39Speaker 1: goal range and hit it. But they almost just botched
- 13:42Speaker 1: the entire game.
- 13:43Speaker 2: When the false start happened, because it was from peak, too, like.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Our best offensive lineman. Going to be a high round
- 13:49Speaker 2: draft pick. He flinches. I'm like, dude, you cannot be.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Not in this spot, bro.
- 13:55Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 13:56Speaker 1: They're about to piss this fumble down their leg, man.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Dude, I was at Dollywood this weekend. And as I'm
- 14:02Speaker 3: walking around on Saturday with spotty internet everywhere, I see
- 14:05Speaker 3: just Vol fan after Vol fan.
- 14:07Speaker 4: All the dads.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Just glued to their phone watching. I would just walk by, hey,
- 14:11Speaker 3: what's the score?
- 14:12Speaker 6: Hey, 14-0.
- 14:12Speaker 4: I'm like, Jesus Christ.
- 14:14Speaker 1: 12 plays, 14-0.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Holy shit.
- 14:15Speaker 4: That's every week for us.
- 14:17Speaker 3: And I'm like, God, I'm missing such a great week
- 14:19Speaker 3: of college football right now. How was it? How was
- 14:22Speaker 3: the environment?
- 14:24Speaker 2: The environment was incredible. It was like in 2022, I
- 14:28Speaker 2: would say it was consistently louder because that was a
- 14:31Speaker 2: fireworks game. This game was, we started out hot. The
- 14:34Speaker 2: place is just jumping, going nuts. I'm lifting up kids
- 14:38Speaker 2: who aren't my kid.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Dude, I saw that.
- 14:42Speaker 2: And then it got, well, Tennessee, they start doing their thing.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Then it just gets ugly. So it's like, it was
- 14:48Speaker 2: just tense the whole game. We are like, Tennessee pulls
- 14:52Speaker 2: a little bit away, but we're also still right there.
- 14:55Speaker 2: We have some classic plays where we miss them. We
- 14:57Speaker 2: drop a few balls. Sellers does things that keeps the
- 15:00Speaker 2: crowd back in it. And it was just like this,
- 15:02Speaker 2: it was almost like a slow climb towards the fourth
- 15:06Speaker 2: quarter instead of just like, Foley like this, slow climb
- 15:09Speaker 2: to the fourth quarter, and then Lenore Sellers. I really
- 15:12Speaker 2: don't know if there's another player in college football that
- 15:14Speaker 2: can make that touchdown.
- 15:16Speaker 1: No, that Foley... encapsulated Lenore Sellers. Because it was like
- 15:21Speaker 1: an RPO moment to where Buddy was kind of open
- 15:24Speaker 1: in the flat at first, and he decides he's not
- 15:26Speaker 1: going to throw, which feels like a Lenore Sellers move.
- 15:28Speaker 1: And then he takes his ball. I'm sure you saw
- 15:31Speaker 1: the touchdown where he's like, gets tackled once, gets tackled
- 15:34Speaker 1: a second time. He's on one leg and then lunges
- 15:37Speaker 1: for a third effort to get it. Just an unbelievable play, bro.
- 15:40Speaker 1: And then that place goes insane.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Insane. Alshon is like in the front of the student
- 15:46Speaker 2: section on the field and just turn around. Alshon was
- 15:49Speaker 2: the MVP arguably of the weekend. But, dude, during the
- 15:53Speaker 2: fourth quarter, he walked all the way from the opposite
- 15:55Speaker 2: side of the field down to the student section just
- 15:58Speaker 2: to get everybody like that much more fired up.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 16:00Speaker 2: And it worked. And that's what you want to see
- 16:02Speaker 2: from Alshon. guys that we hold to such high esteem
- 16:05Speaker 2: at South Carolina. To watch Alshon Jeffery play a part
- 16:09Speaker 2: in a game in 2026, It's like that's what makes
- 16:13Speaker 2: Columbia so special.
- 16:14Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Tennessee having three touchdowns called back by penalties.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Brutal, man.
- 16:19Speaker 4: I feel for Tennessee fans. Can you break that down
- 16:21Speaker 4: for me for just a second, Jackie boy?
- 16:23Speaker 3: Like what happened?
- 16:24Speaker 4: Because like I said, it's very spotty.
- 16:26Speaker 7: We had 12 total penalties for 90 yards.
- 16:28Speaker 6: Like at the end of the day, Tennessee fans are
- 16:30Speaker 6: going to gripe. We're going to be like, how many
- 16:32Speaker 6: are going to get called back against us? We put
- 16:34Speaker 6: ourselves in a corner at that point. Obviously, there's a
- 16:38Speaker 6: lot of tinfoil hat conspiracies with David Smith, the Bama referee.
- 16:41Speaker 6: He was also the referee in 2022 when Tennessee lost
- 16:44Speaker 6: to South Carolina.
- 16:45Speaker 1: No way.
- 16:46Speaker 7: But I'm not going to go down this road because-
- 16:48Speaker 7: Shane Beamer did.
- 16:49Speaker 6: Yeah. Oh, Shane Beamer did, which also, little suspect. Why
- 16:52Speaker 6: are we bringing up that game from 22? But we're
- 16:54Speaker 6: not going to go down that road. We're not going
- 16:56Speaker 6: to go down that road.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Disrespectful.
- 16:57Speaker 6: But, I mean, we made bad penalties, and I think
- 17:00Speaker 6: there were also penalties missed, too. In that last, like,
- 17:03Speaker 6: 10-second player, 19 seconds, when Lenore Sellers, he gets up there,
- 17:07Speaker 6: one of their O-linemen finishes a block after the play
- 17:09Speaker 6: is called dead. We got called on that in the
- 17:11Speaker 6: first quarter and got the penalty, and they don't.
- 17:15Speaker 7: But, again, at the end of the day, South Carolina wins.
- 17:18Speaker 6: It's like when you go and dominate Bama two weeks
- 17:21Speaker 6: ago and then you go in and lose South Carolina.
- 17:23Speaker 6: It's like it's the most Tennessee loss that you can imagine.
- 17:26Speaker 6: And you don't think it's going to happen. And in
- 17:28Speaker 6: the back of your mind, it's like maybe it could.
- 17:30Speaker 6: You go down 14-0 and then you keep the momentum going.
- 17:33Speaker 6: GMAC looks good. Everything looks good. They're getting balls out.
- 17:37Speaker 6: And it's like you got three money touchdowns that get
- 17:41Speaker 6: called back. It's just such a gut punch after gut punch.
- 17:44Speaker 6: I'm not going to sit here and be like, these
- 17:45Speaker 6: are the things that we should have done better. Congratulations
- 17:48Speaker 6: to South Carolina. Now we have to win out, and
- 17:51Speaker 6: we have a couple big games. Kentucky's obviously a big one.
- 17:54Speaker 6: LSU at home. Both of those are at home. You've
- 17:56Speaker 6: got to win out if you even have a contention
- 17:58Speaker 6: in the college football playoff. I think if you drop
- 18:00Speaker 6: one more, Tennessee's out of it. They're just not sexy enough.
- 18:03Speaker 3: You guys are at 16 right now. That's a weird thing.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Tennessee's not being... favorite in a way maybe some of
- 18:09Speaker 3: these other teams have been in the SEC. What's interesting
- 18:12Speaker 3: that you said to me though is such a Tennessee loss.
- 18:15Speaker 3: And I've just heard JP say it so many times.
- 18:17Speaker 3: I feel like every SEC school other than like Alabama
- 18:19Speaker 3: or Georgia is like just such a Kentucky loss, man.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Or it's such a Mississippi State loss.
- 18:25Speaker 2: To me, like if I'm a Tennessee fan, the fourth
- 18:29Speaker 2: and one, GMAC, like I don't know how you messed
- 18:33Speaker 2: that up. And that's something when I'm watching, I'm watching
- 18:35Speaker 2: it in real time. And I'm just sitting there on
- 18:37Speaker 2: the sideline. I could just sympathize with it so much.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I'm like, we would do something like that. And the
- 18:44Speaker 2: fact that it just happened here in Williams-Brice, in our favor,
- 18:48Speaker 2: thank God.
- 18:48Speaker 1: JP's like, yeah, thank God they tried to get cute
- 18:52Speaker 1: on this point.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and I wonder if they even did. And then
- 18:56Speaker 2: I didn't realize this, but with Hypo and the penalties,
- 19:00Speaker 2: because everybody starts going back and forth, this is where
- 19:03Speaker 2: some of the frustration is coming from. Since he took
- 19:06Speaker 2: over in 2021, no SEC team has committed more penalties.
- 19:10Speaker 2: 529 penalties in 72 games, which is first. Ole Miss
- 19:14Speaker 2: is 523 with second. Georgia has played seven more games
- 19:17Speaker 2: and has 143 fewer penalties. So I guess it's been
- 19:21Speaker 2: like when you see the illegal formations and things that
- 19:25Speaker 2: were getting those touchdowns called back, it's like that's where.
- 19:27Speaker 2: so much of the frustration comes from is like, why
- 19:29Speaker 2: does this keep happening?
- 19:31Speaker 3: Nothing more infuriating than watching your team and like have
- 19:34Speaker 3: a good first down play and say, all right, second
- 19:37Speaker 3: and three. And then all of a sudden, you know,
- 19:39Speaker 3: the false start or something happens. Like you just, it
- 19:42Speaker 3: is one of the most infuriating things ever. It just
- 19:44Speaker 3: kills drops.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:45Speaker 3: We talked about on Get Up where it's like, I
- 19:48Speaker 3: committed a lot of penalties in college and in the NFL.
- 19:51Speaker 3: And I remember just being like, oh, good, I'll make
- 19:52Speaker 3: up for this. And now being 35 out of it. Yeah,
- 19:54Speaker 3: why is everybody so mad? Like it was just one penalty.
- 19:57Speaker 3: I only had two penalties this game. And now I'm
- 20:00Speaker 3: 35 watching. And I'm like, how the fuck do we
- 20:03Speaker 3: not just have the discipline to make it?
- 20:05Speaker 4: You don't got to do that.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Like he runs away, let go.
- 20:08Speaker 4: And it's like, just get older, man. You get older,
- 20:10Speaker 4: you start to realize the little things fucking matter.
- 20:13Speaker 1: They matter.
- 20:14Speaker 2: And that's the advantage too. playing at home when a
- 20:18Speaker 2: team's on the road, like those mistakes happen more when
- 20:20Speaker 2: the environments are like they are at Tennessee, at South Carolina.
- 20:24Speaker 2: And it was a special environment in the fourth quarter.
- 20:28Speaker 4: Dude, yeah, man.
- 20:30Speaker 1: When that kicker trotted out there, I forget who I texted,
- 20:33Speaker 1: I'm like, but does this kid want to be a legend?
- 20:35Speaker 1: It's pushed back a little bit.
- 20:37Speaker 2: He was a legend. The photo of him and Beamer
- 20:40Speaker 2: after the game sitting in the locker room. Your boy
- 20:43Speaker 2: was also in the locker room. you're you're on the
- 20:47Speaker 2: team bro dude when we're just like when we saw
- 20:50Speaker 2: he's in the locker room with lenore's yeah he was
- 20:52Speaker 2: in the locker room unreal and they're showing him on
- 20:55Speaker 2: the carolers they're showing him on stuff him on the
- 20:56Speaker 2: sideline and everything like jp had about as great of
- 20:59Speaker 2: a weekend as you could possibly have as a fan
- 21:01Speaker 2: of a team which dude get on the video board
- 21:03Speaker 2: that i was able to go to the game with
- 21:06Speaker 2: one of my friends from middle school and that was
- 21:08Speaker 2: his oldest son with us And that was his first
- 21:11Speaker 2: ever South Carolina game. Shout out Clark and Noah.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Let's go.
- 21:14Speaker 2: And so like the photo of, of me holding him
- 21:18Speaker 2: up or the screenshot of it, you know, just seeing
- 21:20Speaker 2: like the joy on his face. When I went back
- 21:23Speaker 2: and looked at it, I'm like, I know this isn't
- 21:25Speaker 2: my son, but I truly feel like I'm holding up
- 21:27Speaker 2: like six year old JP right now. The way that
- 21:30Speaker 2: he was so happy. And I called Clark after I
- 21:34Speaker 2: was like, dude, like we were just recapping the game.
- 21:36Speaker 2: He was like, Noah will not go to sleep. Like
- 21:39Speaker 2: he's so fired up about today. He keeps talking about
- 21:41Speaker 2: the video board and I'm like, uh, it just makes
- 21:44Speaker 2: it so special on so many levels. Then to go
- 21:47Speaker 2: into the locker room, like the game was already, how
- 21:50Speaker 2: could you ask for more? I'm with Hunter Rogers, shout
- 21:52Speaker 2: out Hunter Rogers. He was the long snapper like two
- 21:54Speaker 2: years ago. And we rushed the field together. We run into,
- 21:59Speaker 2: I don't want to get anybody in trouble but we
- 22:02Speaker 2: run into one of our guys as well and Hunter's
- 22:05Speaker 2: like hey can we can we go to the locker
- 22:07Speaker 2: room like yeah come on come around the corner first
- 22:10Speaker 2: person I see coach Beamer he sees me JP freaking
- 22:14Speaker 2: hubby massive dab massive hub we're jumping up and down
- 22:18Speaker 2: going crazy going to the locker room they're all dancing
- 22:22Speaker 2: Hunter's introducing me to like every player I go up
- 22:25Speaker 2: to Dylan Stewart we talk for a second I'm just
- 22:27Speaker 2: like this there is no way that what I'm doing
- 22:31Speaker 2: right now is actual reality. Like surely when I walk
- 22:35Speaker 2: out of the locker room, like I'm going to step
- 22:37Speaker 2: back into like normal life where like, you know, like
- 22:40Speaker 2: a click moment where like everything warps and you're like,
- 22:43Speaker 2: Oh dang, it wasn't real, but it was real. So
- 22:48Speaker 2: it was so peak. I literally could not ask for,
- 22:51Speaker 2: for anything more from the university, from, from everybody there.
- 22:55Speaker 2: from the show on Friday. I know we'll talk about
- 22:57Speaker 2: that on the intro, but.
- 22:59Speaker 3: But even, even like all like those steps of your fandom,
- 23:02Speaker 3: everything like you holding up that kid, he is now
- 23:04Speaker 3: like for his entire life, like his first game, he'll remember,
- 23:08Speaker 3: he might not remember your name, but he's going to
- 23:09Speaker 3: remember like some guy picked me up. And I am
- 23:12Speaker 3: not Gamecock for life now.
- 23:13Speaker 1: It's like I'm ride or die because look, let me
- 23:15Speaker 1: show you this photo. Yeah. I'm six years old.
- 23:17Speaker 3: And then Friday, the journalism school you went to, you
- 23:21Speaker 3: set up interviews for us to do. And it's just like,
- 23:24Speaker 3: I'm sure it was just a crazy 360 moment for you.
- 23:26Speaker 6: Oh yeah.
- 23:27Speaker 4: Going back and forth.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Cause you just don't like growing up as a Gamecock
- 23:31Speaker 2: fan and, and all the things like you just never
- 23:33Speaker 2: expect to watch a game on the sideline or like be,
- 23:38Speaker 2: to have the coach even like know your name or anything,
- 23:41Speaker 2: be given a free t-shirt, like for like a Gamecock
- 23:45Speaker 2: official equipment issued t-shirt. Like as a six year old,
- 23:50Speaker 2: it's like, you would never get that. You don't even
- 23:52Speaker 2: think of that happening. And then, so to just experience
- 23:55Speaker 2: it all in one and, and after all the pain that,
- 23:59Speaker 2: that has occurred in my life is like, but it
- 24:02Speaker 2: wouldn't be, it wouldn't be as special without all of
- 24:04Speaker 2: those crazy losses and everything. So, but yeah, He got
- 24:08Speaker 2: Oklahoma this week. I was going to say, you know
- 24:10Speaker 2: what that was? John Mateer got good this past week.
- 24:13Speaker 1: He woke up in the middle of the night. Yeah,
- 24:15Speaker 1: he woke up in the middle of the night. Forgive yourself, man.
- 24:17Speaker 3: And he kind of went.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Off a little bit. I was going to say that
- 24:19Speaker 1: a whole entire speech, JP's going on right there. All
- 24:23Speaker 1: I'm thinking, sounds like a letdown spot for the Gamecocks
- 24:26Speaker 1: in Oklahoma.
- 24:28Speaker 3: But the way the season's gone, you're absolutely right. Yeah,
- 24:32Speaker 3: he's right.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Winning on Saturday never helped you win on a Monday.
- 24:37Speaker 2: So you've got to dominate on the Monday and continue on.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Because we've got business to take care of. October 31st, Norman, Oklahoma,
- 24:44Speaker 2: the last day of Cocktober.
- 24:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 2: You've got to dominate.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Can you go undefeated on the road in Cocktober?
- 24:52Speaker 2: You've got to answer that question every single day this
- 24:54Speaker 2: week at practice.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what you've got to do. We've got Tennessee's
- 24:57Speaker 3: schedule up right here. You've got Kentucky by week. Then
- 25:00Speaker 3: you've got Kentucky at home. A & M at A & M,
- 25:03Speaker 3: we've already kind of talked about how they're not a
- 25:05Speaker 3: top 25 team LSU at home, and then Vanderbilt. Everything's
- 25:11Speaker 3: right in front of Tennessee still.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Tennessee's in a good, yeah.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Is in a good spot to get it done. A
- 25:18Speaker 4: good spot.
- 25:18Speaker 1: You got Kentucky coming to town. The fan base, I'm
- 25:21Speaker 1: seeing a lot on my timeline. They believe they should
- 25:23Speaker 1: be ranked the top five team in the country. I'm
- 25:27Speaker 1: telling you, Jackie boy.
- 25:28Speaker 6: I got a text from Will last night. One, if
- 25:30Speaker 6: you get a text from your boss at 9 p.m.
- 25:32Speaker 6: on a Sunday that it says, hey, you immediately go
- 25:34Speaker 6: into a state of fuck.
- 25:35Speaker 1: What did I do?
- 25:37Speaker 7: And he's just like, Kentucky's fucked.
- 25:40Speaker 1: And I'm like, all right, I needed this.
- 25:42Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 25:42Speaker 1: What a horrible weekend. I love you.
- 25:45Speaker 3: You've been on the big Will Stein train, though. You
- 25:47Speaker 3: really think they're fucked?
- 25:48Speaker 1: No, dude, I had my rankings. I have Kentucky at seven.
- 25:52Speaker 1: But I'm listening to Pate talk on his show that
- 25:54Speaker 1: Kentucky should be no lower than four, maybe five. Kentucky
- 25:58Speaker 1: fans talking like they should be, if they were any
- 25:59Speaker 1: other logo in the SEC, they'd be ranked in the
- 26:01Speaker 1: top five. And I'm like, guys, are we just forgetting
- 26:05Speaker 1: that Bama went, what, 32-0 on you in the second
- 26:08Speaker 1: half at home in Kentucky? Nobody, no logos getting that
- 26:13Speaker 1: kind of grace. No logo. Like you can talk about,
- 26:16Speaker 1: I was trying.
- 26:16Speaker 2: To go back.
- 26:17Speaker 3: I would argue that Georgia got that kind of grace.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Georgia lost by three points. But they were the number
- 26:22Speaker 3: one team versus an unranked team. They dropped four spots.
- 26:26Speaker 1: But they lost, my whole thing is, if they say
- 26:28Speaker 1: Kentucky loses by one score, then they would be top
- 26:33Speaker 1: five in the country. But they're arguing, who are you
- 26:35Speaker 1: top five over? Like it's not- Miami. It's not Miami.
- 26:40Speaker 1: It's not- Ohio State. Ohio State.
- 26:42Speaker 4: Notre Dame.
- 26:42Speaker 1: UCLA.
- 26:44Speaker 2: UCLA.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Well, Notre Dame, they should be. In my opinion, I
- 26:46Speaker 1: feel like that they could be, I can see the
- 26:48Speaker 1: argument to where, like schedule-wise, they could be ranked above them.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Like I have Notre Dame eight, Kentucky seven. Because when
- 26:57Speaker 1: Notre Dame lost to BYU, now that BYU lost to
- 26:59Speaker 1: UCF the next week, UCF, that should show that Notre Dame,
- 27:04Speaker 1: like what they got protected by just dropping a four
- 27:06Speaker 1: last week, right? Like that is crazy. Like Notre Dame
- 27:09Speaker 1: should have dropped way lower than just four. And you know,
- 27:11Speaker 1: it's Willie Irish. Like I'm down to protect and fight
- 27:14Speaker 1: and stand 10 toes for Notre Dame. But they were
- 27:17Speaker 1: protected on that loss to BYU.
- 27:19Speaker 3: What was LSU ranked last week? Their high teens?
- 27:23Speaker 4: 18, 19, you got them at nine?
- 27:26Speaker 1: Who's this?
- 27:27Speaker 2: I know, I know.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Who are we looking at?
- 27:29Speaker 2: LSU.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Yeah, because I've liked what LSU's put together the last
- 27:32Speaker 1: two weeks.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Okay.
- 27:34Speaker 3: The last two weeks, they beat Auburn, unranked Auburn at home,
- 27:38Speaker 3: which Florida did that in week three.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Stomped Auburn.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Stomped Auburn. And then Mississippi State without Kamario Taylor. Because
- 27:46Speaker 3: we were having this conversation before the show.
- 27:48Speaker 4: It's like, I know.
- 27:49Speaker 3: And I was playing the other side. Yeah, Sam Leavitt,
- 27:51Speaker 3: seven touchdowns, zero interceptions the last two games. And you
- 27:53Speaker 3: literally go, who have they played?
- 27:55Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, you're right.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Oh shit, you're right.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Because obviously I'm an LSU homer in the sense that
- 28:00Speaker 3: I picked them in the beginning of the season to
- 28:02Speaker 3: win the SEC. But now it's like, we just went
- 28:05Speaker 3: through their schedule.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Right.
- 28:07Speaker 3: And the argument that you just had is they haven't
- 28:09Speaker 3: played anybody, which is a fair argument. No one they've
- 28:12Speaker 3: played right is ranked still.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I'm sorry, that they've beaten. Here's the part.
- 28:17Speaker 3: No one that they've beaten this year is ranked still.
- 28:21Speaker 3: And I'm arguing against myself because I like LSU. I
- 28:25Speaker 3: want LSU to make me right. But their only two
- 28:28Speaker 3: games this season is Texas.
- 28:31Speaker 4: Or three games.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Texas, Alabama, and Tennessee. Here's the group that is like,
- 28:37Speaker 1: it can be, and you can switch. When it gets
- 28:39Speaker 1: to LSU, Tennessee, Texas, Ole Miss, even Bama to a degree.
- 28:44Speaker 1: It's like, how are you going to sit there and rank, like,
- 28:46Speaker 1: how do you rank those teams? Like to me, I
- 28:48Speaker 1: have Georgia over Kentucky still because Georgia beat Bama in
- 28:51Speaker 1: a massive game and Bama wiped Kentucky. So that's why
- 28:55Speaker 1: I have Georgia over them. It's like UCLA is undefeated. Like,
- 28:59Speaker 1: if they do get got or they do get exposed, absolutely.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Trust me, I'm telling you they're going to drop down
- 29:03Speaker 1: in the AP. They're going to drop in everybody's poll
- 29:06Speaker 1: if they get exposed. But right now they're undefeated. So
- 29:08Speaker 1: how are you going to have a Big Ten undefeated
- 29:10Speaker 1: team not ranked? And again, I don't know exactly because
- 29:13Speaker 1: I have my rankings, the AP, yada, yada. But Indiana.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Like Ohio State as well. Ohio State has that loss
- 29:20Speaker 1: that they blew when they were up 24-3 against Texas.
- 29:22Speaker 1: That's an SEC team. And they beat Indiana. Indiana's lost
- 29:26Speaker 1: to a top five team in Ohio State on the
- 29:28Speaker 1: last play of the game. Utah's undefeated in Big 12 play.
- 29:31Speaker 1: So I'm thinking you've got to reward these undefeated P4 teams.
- 29:34Speaker 1: People talk about, is Miami the number one team in
- 29:36Speaker 1: the country? It's like, yeah, bro. They were ranked, preseason
- 29:39Speaker 1: ranking in the top five. top five or six and
- 29:41Speaker 1: they're undefeated right now. I get that they went to
- 29:43Speaker 1: OT against Florida State, who Florida State looks average, but
- 29:46Speaker 1: they're undefeated.
- 29:47Speaker 4: Undefeated.
- 29:48Speaker 1: So where is Kentucky going to be over any of
- 29:50Speaker 1: those teams ahead of them? No, I agree.
- 29:52Speaker 3: UCLA right now is the most interesting team on the
- 29:54Speaker 3: board because no one expected anything out of them. They
- 29:56Speaker 3: don't have I mean, they had USC, which was ranked
- 29:59Speaker 3: before they got beat by Wisconsin. And so they're not
- 30:02Speaker 3: even ranked in the AP poll anymore.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Who are you talking about?
- 30:05Speaker 4: UCLA.
- 30:07Speaker 1: USC?
- 30:07Speaker 3: UCLA plays USC the last game.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Of the year. Oh, you're saying by that game.
- 30:12Speaker 4: Look who they play.
- 30:14Speaker 1: USC is not ranked. USC was 16 last week.
- 30:17Speaker 3: UCLA is number seven in the country on the AP poll.
- 30:19Speaker 3: They play no more ranked opponents. I mean, they could
- 30:23Speaker 3: just walk themselves into... The Big Ten Championship.
- 30:28Speaker 5: Utah only has BYU, I believe, on their schedule.
- 30:32Speaker 1: That'd be interesting.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Who does Utah play this week, though?
- 30:34Speaker 2: Cincy.
- 30:35Speaker 5: It's like, hey, Cincy.
- 30:36Speaker 7: Hey, UCLA.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Yeah, it's at Cincy. Utah's going to smack Cincy. Bro,
- 30:41Speaker 3: Cincy does be Texas Tech.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Dog walk.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Dog walk Texas Tech. After all the shit talking goes down,
- 30:47Speaker 3: we haven't talked about a game yet, except for South Carolina-Texas.
- 30:50Speaker 1: We're just like.
- 30:50Speaker 3: 30,000 foot view on everything.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I love the 30,000 foot view on all that shit.
- 30:54Speaker 1: This shit is nuts though. Another one for you when
- 30:57Speaker 1: we were talking about, hey, LSU talking about how they
- 30:59Speaker 1: have two ranked wins over those opponents. It's like when
- 31:02Speaker 1: UCLA beat Wisconsin last week, Wisconsin wasn't ranked, were they? No.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Now they're ranked because they just took down, they just
- 31:10Speaker 1: dog walked USC. So it's like, oh, does UCLA get
- 31:13Speaker 1: to claim that as like a ranked win? People go
- 31:15Speaker 1: off like they're weak to weak. You know what I mean?
- 31:17Speaker 1: They're targeting, hey, this week they were ranked, this week
- 31:20Speaker 1: this team wasn't ranked. Then the teams that wasn't ranked,
- 31:22Speaker 1: now they become ranked. Do you get to claim those
- 31:24Speaker 1: as ranked wins?
- 31:25Speaker 3: There should be more value held in how teams are
- 31:27Speaker 3: ranked right now as opposed to how they were ranked preseason.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Because then, yeah, it's great to say, as a Michigan fan,
- 31:35Speaker 3: it's great to be like, yeah, we have a ranked win.
- 31:37Speaker 3: this year, but do we really have a right to
- 31:38Speaker 3: win this year?
- 31:39Speaker 1: No, we don't. Over Oklahoma. Oklahoma.
- 31:41Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 31:42Speaker 3: And as you sit there like that, you like hang
- 31:43Speaker 3: your hat on that if you're a fan, you're trying
- 31:45Speaker 3: to find, because you can always find the lane to
- 31:47Speaker 3: make you feel better.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:48Speaker 3: But the reality is if we sit here right now
- 31:50Speaker 3: and you look at the games that your quote fan-based
- 31:53Speaker 3: team has played- Do they have ranked wins or not
- 31:55Speaker 3: based on where we're at? Because in five weeks, it
- 31:57Speaker 3: could be different again.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Correct. Correct. Like say Oklahoma goes on a run. Say
- 32:02Speaker 1: you guys win, you know, all that stuff. Like at
- 32:04Speaker 1: the time, yeah, you beat a ranked Oklahoma team. But
- 32:07Speaker 1: if Oklahoma's in, let's just put them in another conference.
- 32:09Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. Is their offense all of a sudden
- 32:11Speaker 1: just going to be good because they're in that conference? No,
- 32:14Speaker 1: they've looked bad the entire year.
- 32:15Speaker 4: They look bad against New Mexico.
- 32:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:18Speaker 3: X the man, but it's New Mexico.
- 32:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Well, you don't have the same players. It is, dude,
- 32:24Speaker 3: there's just, what is it, week nine of college football?
- 32:28Speaker 2: This is peak college football, man.
- 32:29Speaker 3: And we just have, Jeremy Klump had a take in
- 32:31Speaker 3: the pre-production meeting. And he's not here. He's got a
- 32:34Speaker 3: lot of work to do, he says, quote. But he
- 32:36Speaker 3: said to take it all of a sudden. He's on
- 32:37Speaker 3: the bus. He said, NIL has saved college football. To
- 32:42Speaker 3: where I hear J.P. Hovey whisper, college football didn't need saving.
- 32:45Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 32:46Speaker 3: I understand his argument in the sense that we've never
- 32:49Speaker 3: seen what's taking place right now. We've never seen this before.
- 32:53Speaker 3: How teams are just on top of the mountain one
- 32:56Speaker 3: week and then at the bottom of the barrel the
- 32:57Speaker 3: next week and losing to unranked teams over and over again.
- 33:00Speaker 3: It is crazy.
- 33:06Speaker 2: People have wanted the players to get paid. I think
- 33:09Speaker 2: everybody was pretty much on that board.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:12Speaker 2: But it was just how insane it all got and
- 33:15Speaker 2: how insane it all felt in the beginning when it
- 33:17Speaker 2: felt like certain schools had $ 100 million and other schools
- 33:20Speaker 2: had $ 10 million. And then I was telling Will, me personally,
- 33:25Speaker 2: since I'm zoomed in on South Carolina, it feels like
- 33:28Speaker 2: another South Carolina season for me, NIL or not. A
- 33:34Speaker 2: couple big ranked wins, a couple letdown spots, every single
- 33:37Speaker 2: week we're in it. So my life doesn't feel any
- 33:39Speaker 2: different because of NIL, which would be my personal stance.
- 33:44Speaker 2: But I understand the sentiment. I mean, the last two
- 33:46Speaker 2: weeks have been probably the two craziest back-to-back weekends in
- 33:50Speaker 2: college football history.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Yeah. It's like NIL was good, and it could also
- 33:55Speaker 1: use some fixings.
- 33:57Speaker 3: It's the old adage of what Mike Tyson said about fear.
- 33:59Speaker 3: Fear is fire.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Using it to your advantage, you can— Stay warm, cook
- 34:04Speaker 3: your food. But if you let it get too loose,
- 34:07Speaker 3: it can take down towns and cities.
- 34:09Speaker 4: The Brandon Spikes interview really like fully has me pro
- 34:13Speaker 4: NIL now, like hearing his visit story to Florida and
- 34:18Speaker 4: just what my vision and outlook on college football. That
- 34:24Speaker 4: was like probably the most romantic time. college football in
- 34:27Speaker 4: my eyes when i was a kid falling in love
- 34:29Speaker 4: with the game and hearing that like probably you know
- 34:33Speaker 4: i mean more there's.
- 34:34Speaker 1: A bag of money sitting in the back seat.
- 34:36Speaker 4: Yeah more than half of those florida players getting paid
- 34:39Speaker 4: it just it just takes that veil off my eyes
- 34:42Speaker 4: of like damn every like all the good teams were
- 34:44Speaker 4: doing it like they were all doing.
- 34:46Speaker 3: What's interesting i mean i think at this point we
- 34:49Speaker 3: can all agree like the sec was doing.
- 34:50Speaker 1: It I'm sure that there was. It's like, yeah, Ohio
- 34:53Speaker 1: State was one of those.
- 34:55Speaker 3: I can see Ohio State, but I mean, all I
- 34:58Speaker 3: saw was the tattoo thing. I just can go off
- 35:00Speaker 3: of my experience at Michigan. There was no money there.
- 35:02Speaker 3: You said there was no money at Nebraska. Not during
- 35:04Speaker 3: my time. If I had to say anybody probably got anything,
- 35:08Speaker 3: my guess would be Sue.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Right.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Because he came back for his senior year. My guess
- 35:11Speaker 3: would be Denard Robinson, but Denard was never in a
- 35:13Speaker 3: position to leave. Like Nebraska in the 90s. Nebraska in
- 35:16Speaker 3: the 90s had to have done something.
- 35:18Speaker 1: I have no clue. That's just me guessing because it's
- 35:21Speaker 1: like the teams that are just dominant, there had to
- 35:23Speaker 1: have been something going on. You're just taking care of
- 35:26Speaker 1: the local players that are winning you championships.
- 35:28Speaker 3: And USC in the early 2000s. My time at Michigan,
- 35:33Speaker 3: I was the only player that could have left early
- 35:35Speaker 3: to go to the NFL. And no one ever came
- 35:37Speaker 3: to me and was like, hey, if you stay- I've
- 35:40Speaker 3: made the choice to stay pretty quick. I think if
- 35:42Speaker 3: I held out a little longer, maybe someone would have
- 35:44Speaker 3: came with a bag.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Or you let them know that your angle was like,
- 35:46Speaker 1: I'll stay for the right. Everybody's got a price.
- 35:49Speaker 3: The way, like, we talk about this all the time. Like,
- 35:52Speaker 3: I could not imagine going up to a coach or
- 35:54Speaker 3: somebody and being like, I need $ 50, 000 or $ 100, 000 to stay.
- 35:59Speaker 3: That would be the craziest. You just hold coaches up
- 36:02Speaker 3: here in my brain. But the way they talk about Florida,
- 36:04Speaker 3: the way Fred Taylor talks about Florida, I.
- 36:08Speaker 4: Mean, shit. The way Nick Saban got pissed off with
- 36:11Speaker 4: Shane Gillis.
- 36:12Speaker 2: It's like, okay.
- 36:12Speaker 3: Coach O, the way Coach O was like. Coach O, yeah,
- 36:14Speaker 3: the back door, the front door. It is just like, yeah,
- 36:17Speaker 3: I guess like probably the SEC. And you hear all
- 36:20Speaker 3: these things like if you're in like, there's rules, but
- 36:24Speaker 3: like unwritten rules. Like if you're in Alabama and you're
- 36:28Speaker 3: a student there. The unwritten rule was like the LSU
- 36:31Speaker 3: couldn't offer Alabama, offer this team more money than Auburn. Well,
- 36:35Speaker 3: like whatever the in-state schools offered you, you couldn't offer
- 36:40Speaker 3: more than that to keep it an even playing field.
- 36:42Speaker 3: So they all had like a level of respect with
- 36:43Speaker 3: each other. The Big Ten, the Pac-12, they're all snitches.
- 36:47Speaker 3: The SEC, there was no issues ever.
- 36:49Speaker 6: Ever.
- 36:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:50Speaker 1: That's why they say the SEC, it just means more.
- 36:52Speaker 1: It just means more.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Texas Tech, dominated by Cincinnati.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Cincinnati. And what was the, what was the, cause they
- 37:00Speaker 1: tagged Cody Campbell afterwards.
- 37:01Speaker 3: So what happened was, is when all the Brendan Sorsby
- 37:04Speaker 3: stuff went down, Cody Campbell had a quote along the
- 37:07Speaker 3: lines of, you know, we'll get retribution for this. We'll
- 37:11Speaker 3: handle you. Like we'll be, we'll be up by 40
- 37:14Speaker 3: and still be throwing the ball.

- 39:01Speaker 4: Neutral, keep it tasty. Let's get back to this episode.
- 39:03Speaker 3: He's talking a bunch of shit. Preseason, the Sorsby stuff
- 39:06Speaker 3: goes down. Clearly this game was circled on Cody Campbell's calendar.
- 39:10Speaker 3: And then Cincinnati comes in and handles business.
- 39:13Speaker 1: They go out to Cincinnati. I'm sure Cincinnati had that
- 39:16Speaker 1: thing circled on their calendar too. He's like, Cody Campbell
- 39:18Speaker 1: in the new Texas Tech doc. We're not going to
- 39:21Speaker 1: forget about that. And I don't know they'll forget about
- 39:23Speaker 1: it either when we're up by 40 and still throwing
- 39:25Speaker 1: the ball in the fourth quarter. That's where the retribution
- 39:27Speaker 1: will come.
- 39:31Speaker 3: But cody campbell comes out and goes that's not good
- 39:36Speaker 3: enough like he had a very direct like pointing finger
- 39:39Speaker 3: at the program and joey mcguire being like we this
- 39:42Speaker 3: is not good enough we cannot have that happen at
- 39:44Speaker 3: texas tech yeah To the point where some people are
- 39:48Speaker 3: now going, is Joey Maguire in the A-gap?
- 39:52Speaker 1: Cody Campbell, Mr. Campbell, he weirdly puts a target, whether
- 39:56Speaker 1: it's real or not, Like him coming out and basically
- 39:59Speaker 1: doing like a head coach thing publicly when he– you
- 40:03Speaker 1: know what I mean? Like him not being the head
- 40:04Speaker 1: coach basically puts an entire target on Coach McGuire. Whether
- 40:09Speaker 1: or not the target's real, like in my world, it's like, okay,
- 40:11Speaker 1: I'm sure that McGuire's not on the hot seat whatsoever.
- 40:14Speaker 1: But you do it publicly.
- 40:16Speaker 6: Yep.
- 40:16Speaker 1: You know what I mean? To where now it's like all–
- 40:18Speaker 1: everybody can just sit there and comment. It becomes– it
- 40:21Speaker 1: could become a potential distraction.
- 40:23Speaker 4: Well, the NIL.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Because you got mad that you basically said, we're going
- 40:26Speaker 1: to hang 40 on these boys and still be throwing
- 40:28Speaker 1: in the fourth quarter. You're not on, you're not coaching
- 40:31Speaker 1: the team.
- 40:32Speaker 7: Right.
- 40:32Speaker 1: You're not respecting the game. You're not respecting Cincinnati whatsoever.
- 40:36Speaker 1: I get, I love all the pettiness.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Right.
- 40:38Speaker 1: It is entertaining, but him, he's got to like, you know,
- 40:42Speaker 1: then he puts himself in a spot where he's got
- 40:44Speaker 1: to come out. He feels like he's got to say
- 40:46Speaker 1: something like that because, you know, he put, he put
- 40:49Speaker 1: his balls on the table. in the off season.
- 40:51Speaker 3: See, the thing that's funny is I didn't even see
- 40:53Speaker 3: that quote and I wouldn't have been aware of that
- 40:55Speaker 3: quote if he didn't say anything about it.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:58Speaker 1: You know?
- 40:58Speaker 3: And now everyone's making a big story and it just
- 41:00Speaker 3: kind of goes into the, when you're zoomed into your
- 41:02Speaker 3: own world, like if you're just a little more, if
- 41:04Speaker 3: you're embarrassed by something, just say move on and you
- 41:07Speaker 3: won't put a light on it. But when he says
- 41:09Speaker 3: there's no excuse or reason to lose a game like this,
- 41:12Speaker 3: we have to be better. And then he tags Texas
- 41:15Speaker 3: Tech football. It's like, this is another product of NIL,
- 41:17Speaker 3: like Cody Campbell. If he wants something done, in Lubbock, Texas,
- 41:21Speaker 3: it's going to get done.
- 41:22Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 41:23Speaker 3: Or they're going to do whatever it possibly takes to
- 41:25Speaker 3: get it done because how influential it is. Isn't there
- 41:27Speaker 3: a field like Campbell Field?
- 41:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:29Speaker 4: I mean, he is.
- 41:30Speaker 1: That's his ball club.
- 41:30Speaker 3: He is Texas Tech.
- 41:31Speaker 4: That's his ball club.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Like we're watching Mobland right now. Like he's the kingpin.
- 41:35Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 41:36Speaker 3: There's a lot of different families trying to get in there.
- 41:37Speaker 3: Cody Campbell's got a grasp on Lubbock.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Yes.
- 41:40Speaker 4: And knowing how West Texas operates from just the ground
- 41:43Speaker 4: level of football, all the old men in the breakfast
- 41:47Speaker 4: spots talking.
- 41:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 41:49Speaker 1: And they're like, hey, don't worry.
- 41:50Speaker 4: Cody Campbell tweeted about he's going to talk to Joey.
- 41:53Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 41:53Speaker 1: They're going to get it right.
- 41:55Speaker 5: Oh, they talked.
- 41:56Speaker 4: It almost feels like less calling out and more like
- 42:00Speaker 4: we're aware of the situation.
- 42:02Speaker 5: PR is good. On to the next.
- 42:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Yeah. We got to play better.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:07Speaker 3: This is Cody Campbell's version of his lawyer statement after
- 42:09Speaker 3: something goes wrong is what you're saying.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Yes.
- 42:10Speaker 4: Yeah, that checks out for me.
- 42:12Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah.
- 42:12Speaker 4: That checks out.
- 42:13Speaker 3: But just no, I don't think anybody, anybody saw a
- 42:16Speaker 3: Cincinnati Bearcat win at Texas Tech this weekend.
- 42:20Speaker 1: I mean, if you like look at the lines and
- 42:21Speaker 1: everything else, like maybe Texas Tech having their biggest win,
- 42:25Speaker 1: most dominant win over Arizona State, like possibly, okay, Cincinnati
- 42:29Speaker 1: could cover here. But to get beat like that, no.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Absolutely not.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Keeping it in the Big 12, dude. Utah and Houston.
- 42:36Speaker 2: What, 10 p.m.
- 42:37Speaker 4: Eastern game?
- 42:38Speaker 1: Yeah, bro. That finished around 1 in the morning.
- 42:41Speaker 3: And just the fact that Houston was up in the beginning,
- 42:46Speaker 3: and then Utah misses a field goal. And you feel like, okay, Houston,
- 42:49Speaker 3: the way they operate on offense, they're up. after the
- 42:52Speaker 3: first quarter, they're just going to put their foot on
- 42:54Speaker 3: the gas and keep it going. But Devin Dampier, bro,
- 42:58Speaker 3: is a magician. Do you see the one where he
- 43:00Speaker 3: was rolling out to the side and dude goes to
- 43:02Speaker 3: tackle him, he just squats to the ground. He like
- 43:05Speaker 3: literally squats to the ground, grazes over his helmet and
- 43:07Speaker 3: just keeps, dude, unbelievable. He had like, what, 150 yards
- 43:10Speaker 3: rushing alone by himself.
- 43:11Speaker 4: Yeah, two touchdowns, yeah.
- 43:13Speaker 7: He's got that Lenora Sellers where you can't bring him
- 43:16Speaker 7: down in the backfield. No matter you get a free
- 43:18Speaker 7: rush at him, you can't get him down.
- 43:20Speaker 3: And he's got such great awareness in the pocket.
- 43:23Speaker 1: I was punching the air when he had that roll
- 43:25Speaker 1: out and under threw the little loft up. He had
- 43:29Speaker 1: the guy. He had the receiver. But under throws and
- 43:31Speaker 1: they pick it off. I'm like, oh, fuck, bro. No.
- 43:34Speaker 4: These are the ones where he gets hit?
- 43:35Speaker 1: The interception. No, he's rolling out and tries to float it.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Over the defender's head, but doesn't put near enough on it.
- 43:41Speaker 1: It just goes right into the defender's hands. I'm like, oh, bro,
- 43:43Speaker 1: that's a bad throw.
- 43:44Speaker 3: But dude, as elusive as he is, like he had
- 43:46Speaker 3: that throw, he'll have random like back shoulder throws, like
- 43:50Speaker 3: fade throws where you're like, holy shit, this guy can
- 43:53Speaker 3: kind of do it all.
- 43:55Speaker 7: He's throwing back shoulders to his running back that's out
- 43:58Speaker 7: there split out wide.
- 43:59Speaker 2: Yes.
- 43:59Speaker 7: And, like, Wayshon Parker's coming up with crazy catches. Like,
- 44:02Speaker 7: Utah's so fun to watch.
- 44:03Speaker 4: They are, dude.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Just, like, starting the game and their backup was named Bird.
- 44:08Speaker 7: Bird Ficklin.
- 44:08Speaker 4: Bird Ficklin.
- 44:09Speaker 3: He's at the quarterback position and Devin DePierre's in the slot.
- 44:12Speaker 3: And then they toss it to him and throw it. Like,
- 44:14Speaker 3: they have a very fun offense to watch.
- 44:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:17Speaker 3: Very fun offense.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Yeah, they got to keep rolling.
- 44:19Speaker 3: Got to keep going.
- 44:19Speaker 1: They took Connor Wigman's shoe, man. They took his shoe.
- 44:22Speaker 5: He's gone again?
- 44:23Speaker 1: He took his shoe, man.
- 44:25Speaker 3: What year is Conor Wegman?
- 44:27Speaker 2: He's probably a redshirt freshman. Everybody's a freshman.
- 44:32Speaker 4: Everybody's a freshman.
- 44:32Speaker 2: He's got to be senior, though.
- 44:34Speaker 1: The age stuff does kind of take me out at times. Like,
- 44:37Speaker 1: I want to say, somebody mentioned how Chambliss was 24,
- 44:39Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh, yeah, that shit is kind of crazy.
- 44:42Speaker 1: He's a grown man out there.
- 44:43Speaker 3: Grown ass man. Fully developed brain.
- 44:46Speaker 1: Like I was old coming in the league. I was
- 44:48Speaker 1: old coming in the league as an undrafted cat at 20.
- 44:50Speaker 1: I turned 23 that year thinking like, man, I wish
- 44:53Speaker 1: I was a little bit younger. Cause that's like older
- 44:54Speaker 1: going into the league. And knowing that he's 24 out there,
- 44:59Speaker 1: out there dicing it up, operating the entire thing. Dude,
- 45:02Speaker 1: when Ole Miss got that onside kick, holy shit.
- 45:06Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, over on Ole Miss, Texas.
- 45:08Speaker 3: Dude, yeah, this is one of those games where I
- 45:10Speaker 3: get back, and my daughter and I were sitting there
- 45:13Speaker 3: watching a movie, and I just popped on. I looked,
- 45:15Speaker 3: and at halftime, it was 24-3. I go, oh, shit,
- 45:18Speaker 3: Texas is really fucking putting it to them.
- 45:20Speaker 1: Arch had that edginess to him. He had that swag going.
- 45:23Speaker 3: He ran it a lot more. He still had a
- 45:25Speaker 3: couple of things here and there. Cam Coleman had another
- 45:27Speaker 3: drop as well, but that offense, dude, that offense was rolling.
- 45:32Speaker 4: Over 200 yards on the ground.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Against Ole Miss who just shut down the number one
- 45:38Speaker 1: rushing attack in Jamal Roberts.
- 45:39Speaker 3: You just can't figure it out, dude.
- 45:43Speaker 4: Trevor Goosby.
- 45:44Speaker 3: I mean, maybe a hats off moment of silence for him.
- 45:46Speaker 3: I heard he's done for the season with a lower
- 45:48Speaker 3: leg injury.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Carted off.
- 45:50Speaker 3: Carted off the field. Hate to see a hog go down, man.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Hate to see a hog go down. He was supposed
- 45:57Speaker 3: to be a first round pick. Might still be, depends
- 45:59Speaker 3: on the severity of the injury. With all the testing
- 46:02Speaker 3: done and all that. But dude, they were... They were
- 46:05Speaker 3: pissed off in that first half. It's just, hey, Texas,
- 46:08Speaker 3: can we get 60 minutes of football?
- 46:10Speaker 1: Bro, yeah, because when they are operating, they are so
- 46:13Speaker 1: damn good. But you just, they're so inconsistent, man. So inconsistent.
- 46:19Speaker 1: It is just nuts, dude.
- 46:20Speaker 3: But hey, who they got? Pull up Texas' schedule.
- 46:24Speaker 4: What do they got? LSU. Because it's like every week
- 46:30Speaker 4: is just such a dramatic change.
- 46:31Speaker 3: We think, okay, Texas is done. They're probably not going
- 46:34Speaker 3: to be a playoff team. And then they have a
- 46:36Speaker 3: win like that, and you're like, okay, maybe they are.
- 46:38Speaker 1: They got Mississippi State this weekend. They'll handle that one.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Then they go to Missouri. It'll be interesting to see
- 46:43Speaker 1: how Missouri comes out after the bye week and having
- 46:46Speaker 1: a big letdown loss against Ole Miss. Then Texas goes
- 46:51Speaker 1: out to LSU. Then you got Arkansas.
- 46:53Speaker 3: That's a tough one right there. That's a game and
- 46:56Speaker 3: a half. Arkansas and Texas A & M at the end.
- 46:59Speaker 3: If Texas loses to LSU, are they a playoff team?
- 47:04Speaker 2: They have to be out. With their three losses.
- 47:07Speaker 4: Really?
- 47:07Speaker 2: You have a.
- 47:08Speaker 7: Win over Ohio State.
- 47:09Speaker 1: JP, I'm telling you, bro, this year we're going to
- 47:11Speaker 1: have multiple three-loss SEC teams in the playoffs.
- 47:15Speaker 2: I agree.
- 47:15Speaker 3: Just you saying that makes me feel like it somehow
- 47:18Speaker 3: won't happen.
- 47:19Speaker 2: I think there will be three-loss teams, but I don't know.
- 47:22Speaker 2: It's just something about Texas, the way that they're playing,
- 47:27Speaker 2: the inconsistencies. I feel like there's going to be another
- 47:30Speaker 2: three-loss SEC team that gets in over them. I don't
- 47:34Speaker 2: know who that will be yet.
- 47:35Speaker 1: Yeah, like in my opinion, there will be a group.
- 47:38Speaker 1: And depending on how it shakes out, like in my mind,
- 47:42Speaker 1: it's Georgia is going to be in the SEC championship.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Like I'll have them as a one-loss SEC team right now.
- 47:48Speaker 1: A two-loss team, who knows who it could be? Maybe Kentucky. Tennessee.
- 47:53Speaker 1: I mean, Tennessee. Is it LSU? Who knows? They're going
- 47:56Speaker 1: to go to the SEC championship. And then there's going
- 47:59Speaker 1: to be a group. of right now, let's just say
- 48:02Speaker 1: two or three, three loss teams. Whoever that two loss
- 48:06Speaker 1: team is in the SEC championship, they lose to Georgia.
- 48:09Speaker 1: You're going to have another one in that group of three.
- 48:11Speaker 3: But does that count? Does that three loss count?
- 48:14Speaker 5: Because it's championship.
- 48:15Speaker 1: They'll get in, but I'm saying you're still, like SEC
- 48:17Speaker 1: is going to get four teams, in my opinion, in
- 48:20Speaker 1: the college football playoff.
- 48:21Speaker 3: Okay, but look at this real quick. Texas beat Tennessee,
- 48:24Speaker 3: who is ranked. They beat Ohio State, who is ranked.
- 48:28Speaker 3: And they just beat Ole Miss, who was ranked. So
- 48:29Speaker 3: they have three top 25 wins. We just looked at
- 48:33Speaker 3: LSU and said, all the teams they played are no
- 48:37Speaker 3: longer ranked. And we're holding LSU more valuable than Texas.
- 48:43Speaker 1: No, all I'm saying is multiple three loss teams.
- 48:45Speaker 4: I don't know which ones.
- 48:46Speaker 3: I'm not disagreeing with you guys. Like right now, LSU
- 48:48Speaker 3: seems like they're getting hot at the right time. And
- 48:50Speaker 3: Texas is still in this turbulent little category. However, you
- 48:53Speaker 3: look at the resumes, Texas's resume is better than LSU.
- 48:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I see what you're saying.
- 48:57Speaker 3: You know, clearly you're going to have a head-to-head here
- 49:00Speaker 3: with Texas and LSU right there. But if LSU goes-
- 49:04Speaker 3: two and three in their, you know, whatever the three-ranked
- 49:06Speaker 3: matchups they have. How do we not look at Texas
- 49:09Speaker 3: and go, oh, they should absolutely be in? Even though
- 49:12Speaker 3: LSU got hot, they stumbled against, let's just say, Tennessee
- 49:16Speaker 3: at Tennessee. Because they had to go into Neyland.
- 49:18Speaker 1: Right, right, right Here's like, let's say Texas drops to Mizzou.
- 49:21Speaker 1: And then they beat LSU, handing LSU their third loss.
- 49:27Speaker 1: That would be also me assuming that LSU beats Bama.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Bama's a three loss team at this point. But say
- 49:33Speaker 1: they beat LSU, you're going to have the, number one,
- 49:35Speaker 1: a better resume, and you're going to have the head-to-head
- 49:37Speaker 1: over LSU, the three-loss LSU team. Then you're going to
- 49:39Speaker 1: have to look at LSU and Bama on their resumes.
- 49:43Speaker 1: And in that situation, it's LSU beating Alabama. Like those
- 49:46Speaker 1: two would still get in over potentially Bama. But the
- 49:50Speaker 1: other two losses to Bama is who's Georgia and Tennessee.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Then it might come down to if Tennessee's a three-loss
- 49:57Speaker 1: team and Bama. Bama would be the odd man out.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Would they?
- 50:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:02Speaker 3: Because where they're positioned right now, they wouldn't be.
- 50:04Speaker 1: Two of them could be because Kentucky goes to the
- 50:07Speaker 1: SEC championship as a two-loss team.
- 50:09Speaker 4: Dude, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama.
- 50:10Speaker 1: This is the chaos we all need, man.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Kentucky makes it, man.
- 50:13Speaker 4: And even though all the things you're saying make sense,
- 50:15Speaker 4: but I'm still not following it.
- 50:16Speaker 1: I know, I know. We almost need to have it
- 50:17Speaker 1: on the board.
- 50:18Speaker 3: We need a big whiteboard to figure all this out.
- 50:21Speaker 7: What about this hypothetical? You have a three-loss team in
- 50:26Speaker 7: the SEC, obviously doesn't go to the SEC championships. But
- 50:29Speaker 7: then you have BYU run the table for the rest
- 50:31Speaker 7: of the year, but then lose in the Big 12 championship.
- 50:36Speaker 7: So they're a one-loss regular season team, but they get
- 50:40Speaker 7: their second loss, but they have a win over Notre Dame.
- 50:44Speaker 7: So how do you stack up a two-loss BYU? And
- 50:46Speaker 7: let's say Notre Dame beats Miami. Yeah, Notre Dame beats Miami.
- 50:49Speaker 2: Oh, yes!
- 50:51Speaker 1: That's what I'm talking about, Greg.
- 50:54Speaker 3: And what you're bringing up right now is why every
- 50:56Speaker 3: person who's in charge of the college football rankings right
- 50:58Speaker 3: now is shitting their pants. Because they don't want to
- 51:00Speaker 3: run into a situation they did last year with Miami,
- 51:03Speaker 3: with Notre Dame, with BYU, with Texas, Vanderbilt, all these teams.
- 51:09Speaker 2: But also, we keep talking about Georgia. Georgia goes to
- 51:13Speaker 2: SEC Championship. They are the best team. But, dude, listen
- 51:16Speaker 2: to the last part of their schedule. They play Florida.
- 51:19Speaker 8: Florida.
- 51:19Speaker 2: They play at Ole Miss. They play Missouri. They play
- 51:22Speaker 2: South Carolina and then Georgia Tech. Like it would not
- 51:25Speaker 2: be the craziest thing in the world if Georgia loses. Yeah,
- 51:28Speaker 2: two for sure. No, no, no.
- 51:30Speaker 3: I'm saying they have two losses. They're going to drop
- 51:32Speaker 3: one of those games. And the most likely in our
- 51:34Speaker 3: heads is Ole Miss.
- 51:35Speaker 1: Yeah. And it's like Georgia right now minus 10.5 against Florida.
- 51:39Speaker 2: Book it.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 51:42Speaker 2: The ones at Ole Miss. They play at Ole Miss.
- 51:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that'll be a huge one.
- 51:46Speaker 5: There's also the chance.
- 51:47Speaker 4: Because if Georgia beats Ole Miss, Ole Miss has two,
- 51:51Speaker 4: three losses? Two losses.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Ole Miss has two right now.
- 51:54Speaker 3: They have two losses. So Ole Miss is fighting for
- 51:56Speaker 3: their lives because I think the rest of their schedule
- 51:59Speaker 3: is kind of light other than Georgia. They got Mississippi
- 52:03Speaker 3: State in the end.
- 52:03Speaker 2: Of the year.
- 52:03Speaker 1: But then Ole Miss becomes a three-loss team. With a
- 52:06Speaker 1: win over LSU.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Ole Miss has a night, yeah. Ole Miss has Georgia.
- 52:12Speaker 1: SEC's fight for their lives, man.
- 52:14Speaker 2: They got Georgia, Oklahoma, Wofford, and then Mississippi State. Wofford.
- 52:20Speaker 1: Wofford.
- 52:21Speaker 3: And they have an Oklahoma team with a quarterback that
- 52:23Speaker 3: forgave himself, so you never know what's going to happen there.
- 52:25Speaker 1: If your scenario with BYU happens and say Notre Dame
- 52:28Speaker 1: beats Miami, yeah, then I got to move that four
- 52:31Speaker 1: number down to three.
- 52:34Speaker 4: What's four?
- 52:34Speaker 3: Who's four?
- 52:35Speaker 1: I'm saying like at the start, I'm saying four SEC
- 52:38Speaker 1: teams are getting in. But if that chaos shakes up,
- 52:41Speaker 1: hands are going to be tied back there, bro.
- 52:43Speaker 3: Bro, it all depends on where the first college football
- 52:47Speaker 3: rankings come out.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Where is BYU?
- 52:48Speaker 3: Because if they're sitting in that 10, 11, 12 category
- 52:51Speaker 3: going into the championship, they have to win that game.
- 52:54Speaker 3: Or they're going to be out because the G5, all
- 52:56Speaker 3: that bullshit.
- 52:56Speaker 1: That's true. Because they got- And they will be.
- 52:59Speaker 3: They're one of those teams that I could just see
- 53:02Speaker 3: them being like, put them there again. We'll see if
- 53:04Speaker 3: we can screw them out of there in case we
- 53:05Speaker 3: want to get a Tennessee in here or an Alabama
- 53:08Speaker 3: or a Kentucky.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Have the insurance policy.
- 53:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:10Speaker 1: And then you're going to have some CFP committee member
- 53:13Speaker 1: talking about Bama going forward on fourth down. That was
- 53:16Speaker 1: a gutsy call when they saved them from the ranking
- 53:19Speaker 1: last year.
- 53:19Speaker 3: Next week is when the first- Oh, I can't wait
- 53:24Speaker 3: to see those rankings.
- 53:25Speaker 2: The winner of the South Carolina-Oklahoma game will cause the
- 53:30Speaker 2: most problems for the college football playoff committee for those
- 53:34Speaker 2: last three weeks of the season. Because obviously, because Oklahoma,
- 53:39Speaker 2: say they win, they're going to be feeling good going
- 53:42Speaker 2: into one of these games versus Georgia or Mississippi, whatever
- 53:45Speaker 2: it is. If we win, we'll be riding high versus Georgia.
- 53:48Speaker 2: And it's like, Two teams with nothing to lose, really,
- 53:52Speaker 2: playing against teams with everything to lose. It's like the
- 53:55Speaker 2: winner of South Carolina-Oklahoma, I feel like, is going to
- 53:58Speaker 2: be the problem child of college football.
- 54:00Speaker 4: A crazy hypothetical for Texas is they could potentially have
- 54:06Speaker 4: three wins against three playoff teams and miss the playoffs
- 54:10Speaker 4: if they lose to LSU if UTSA continues to win
- 54:14Speaker 4: out and gets that G6 plug.
- 54:19Speaker 5: Like the mandatory G6 spot.
- 54:22Speaker 3: Disgusting.
- 54:23Speaker 5: That'd be crazy.
- 54:23Speaker 3: It's the worst year ever for a G6 to get
- 54:25Speaker 3: thrown in.
- 54:25Speaker 1: If all that happens, like to me, that Texas three
- 54:28Speaker 1: loss team would probably get in.
- 54:30Speaker 4: Over LSU? Who beat them head to head?
- 54:33Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying, dude.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Right?
- 54:36Speaker 2: We're going to get to the end of the year
- 54:37Speaker 2: and it'll actually be like the most obvious 12 to 12.
- 54:39Speaker 3: That's going to suck, man. Because we didn't see it
- 54:42Speaker 3: last year until like the very end. Hold on a second.
- 54:45Speaker 3: Like the last two weeks is when we all started
- 54:47Speaker 3: shitting our pants a little bit. ACC continues. Listen, shout
- 54:51Speaker 3: out Miami. As exciting as the rest of the cultural
- 54:55Speaker 3: ball is, it's just Miami in the ACC.
- 54:57Speaker 1: Dude, don't sleep on Wake Forest, man. I know, I know.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Busting a beat, heading there against Virginia. But if Wake
- 55:02Speaker 1: Forest takes care of business to Miami, but they go back,
- 55:05Speaker 1: it was what, a two-score game? Like 10 or 11 points?
- 55:08Speaker 3: It was closer than it seemed, yeah.
- 55:11Speaker 1: They get to that ACC championship against Miami. Yeah, you think.
- 55:19Speaker 3: Wake Forest gets another crack at Miami. I'm not trying
- 55:22Speaker 3: to disrespect Miami, but like, I'm sorry, Wake Forest. I'm
- 55:25Speaker 3: not trying to disrespect Wake Forest, but Miami seems to
- 55:28Speaker 3: be just doing exactly what they're supposed to be doing.
- 55:31Speaker 3: Of like the national championship team is, bro, they just
- 55:35Speaker 3: donkey stomped Pitt. And I know they're out with the quarterback.
- 55:38Speaker 3: Florida State, OT, and you just watched their offensive line play.
- 55:42Speaker 3: Like it is not, I know, we were out there
- 55:44Speaker 3: with Marabal and Cristobal.
- 55:45Speaker 1: Like they, they know. they have to get some of
- 55:48Speaker 1: these old line issues fixed once they get into post-season play.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Because they do have bonafide studs in Tony, in Mensah,
- 55:56Speaker 1: Fletcher's a dog. Their defense, they don't have game records
- 56:00Speaker 1: yet that are coming to life on that defensive line
- 56:03Speaker 1: of scrimmage like they had last year.
- 56:04Speaker 2: They're feasting on the ACC right now.
- 56:07Speaker 1: But they had two losses. Feasting on the ACC, that's fair.
- 56:09Speaker 1: And they are fairly ranked number one.
- 56:11Speaker 3: They are fairly ranked number one.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 56:14Speaker 7: And last time, Or last year at this time, they
- 56:18Speaker 7: had two losses. Like, you would have never guessed they
- 56:20Speaker 7: were playing for a national championship at this time last year,
- 56:23Speaker 7: and they turn it on, and that's a testament to Cristobal.
- 56:26Speaker 7: So you have to always pay attention. They're still a contender.
- 56:29Speaker 1: The only game that matters right now in the ACC
- 56:31Speaker 1: is November 14th, SMU-Wake Forest.
- 56:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:34Speaker 1: Because SMU's still a one-loss team. Yeah, they're a one-loss team.
- 56:39Speaker 3: It was what, Louisville? Yeah, they lost to Louisville. Lost
- 56:43Speaker 3: to Louisville.
- 56:43Speaker 2: Yes.
- 56:44Speaker 1: Hissed on their fucking leg.
- 56:45Speaker 3: Louisville is that team this year. It's like, dude, you
- 56:47Speaker 3: guys could have been, y'all could have been something.
- 56:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:51Speaker 1: But yeah, SMU, Wake Forest, November 14th. That's going to be,
- 56:54Speaker 1: SMU just got the, they just got the harder go
- 56:57Speaker 1: at it. They got, SMU still has to play Notre Dame.
- 57:00Speaker 1: And I want to say they have another one too,
- 57:02Speaker 1: where it's like a decent game.
- 57:05Speaker 5: Va Tech.
- 57:06Speaker 1: Yeah, Va Tech. Cause Va Tech's a two loss team
- 57:08Speaker 1: in the ACC. If we're just talking straight up ACC play,
- 57:11Speaker 1: Vod Tech's gotten back just in the mix with a
- 57:14Speaker 1: win over Clemson. But SMU has Virginia Tech, they have
- 57:18Speaker 1: Notre Dame, and they have Wake Forest.
- 57:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 57:22Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 57:22Speaker 3: Yeah, for whatever reason, SMU's got back-to-back bangers in the
- 57:27Speaker 3: middle of November right there.
- 57:29Speaker 2: I would be remiss if I didn't just say one
- 57:31Speaker 2: of the craziest stats in college football right now.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Feed it to us.
- 57:35Speaker 2: Unfortunately, it is on behalf of the Clemson Tigers. So,
- 57:39Speaker 2: as Josh Pate would say, this brings me no joy.
- 57:42Speaker 2: They've only had two passing touchdowns the whole entire season
- 57:47Speaker 2: in college football.
- 57:48Speaker 1: It is crazy watching them try to have any type
- 57:51Speaker 1: of passing offense.
- 57:52Speaker 2: Two passing touchdowns. Vicari Swain has more touchdowns than that.
- 58:00Speaker 2: He don't play offense. That brought me no joy.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Brought you no joy. Cody, you got to pat little
- 58:08Speaker 1: bro on the head.
- 58:12Speaker 3: Before we get into G6 talk, did anybody even care
- 58:14Speaker 3: to watch Indiana-Michigan?
- 58:17Speaker 1: Dude, hey, I watched the game. I went back. I
- 58:19Speaker 1: got on Teamworks, and I watched that game. Dude, you guys, look,
- 58:22Speaker 1: you hit me up. You hit me with the text.
- 58:24Speaker 1: You tried calling. I'm putting the kids down. And Taylor
- 58:27Speaker 1: just rattling off these texts, basically. And then at the end,
- 58:29Speaker 1: it's like, don't call back. Not worth it. Because he
- 58:32Speaker 1: just wanted to talk Michigan football. Bro, my heart goes
- 58:35Speaker 1: out to you because your defense, bro, is.
- 58:37Speaker 3: We have the best defense in college football.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Arguably the best defense. Arguably the best. Your defense is nice.
- 58:44Speaker 2: Dude.
- 58:44Speaker 1: Your defense is nice, bro. And you just don't have
- 58:46Speaker 1: a cue that can... That can operate, man. And then
- 58:50Speaker 1: a couple missed field goals. I know that just kills you, bro.
- 58:53Speaker 3: Here's the most disgusting thing. I've said it multiple times.
- 58:57Speaker 3: I was at Dollar Wood. I had bad service. I
- 58:59Speaker 3: saw the first series of Indiana, then service went bad.
- 59:02Speaker 3: And I was like, okay, I'm just flying blind. I
- 59:03Speaker 3: guess I have to be a present father to my six-year-old.
- 59:06Speaker 3: But I went back and watched that game, dude. And
- 59:08Speaker 3: there was a play. It was third or one on
- 59:11Speaker 3: the one yard line. And we do, we do some
- 59:15Speaker 3: fucking bullshit, sneaky, fake handoff. And the DN blows it up.
- 59:21Speaker 3: And it's like, okay, I see how you're trying to
- 59:24Speaker 3: get creative right there. The tight end would have been
- 59:26Speaker 3: wide open. But when you go back and watch the film,
- 59:30Speaker 3: There's a fourth and one earlier in that game where
- 59:32Speaker 3: Bryce Underwood's under center and they hand it to Jordan
- 59:35Speaker 3: Marshall and he runs it and gets a first down.
- 59:37Speaker 3: The DN doesn't crash. You come straight up the field
- 59:40Speaker 3: in case they're trying to fake it. So if you're
- 59:42Speaker 3: the offensive coordinator, how do you not see that play
- 59:45Speaker 3: five plays ago and think to yourself, this is a
- 59:48Speaker 3: good time to run the fake again, even though the
- 59:49Speaker 3: DN has not crashed one time.
- 59:52Speaker 1: It's bad, boys. It's bad.
- 59:54Speaker 3: It's not Tommy Carr's fault. I thought Tommy Carr for
- 59:56Speaker 3: a freshman quarterback getting his first start played as well
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: as a kid can against the defending national champs, number, what,
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: 10 defense in the country.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: No, and you're going to give him grace in case
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: he throws in the quadruple coverage. You're going to have
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: the grace there because it's like, yo, this is a
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: brutal spot to come in against that Indiana defensive line.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: We rushed the ball for 1.5 yards per carry.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: I know, man.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: We missed two field goals, like you said.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Like, even as poorly as the offense played, like,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: you still had two field goals.
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: We could have won the game, for real.
- 1:00:32Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: It's not.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: I know, bro.
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: Dude, were there, like.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: Every game we've played, UTSA doesn't count. Every game we've
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: played has come down to the last play or last series.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: Every single one.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: And the worst is that all you need is, like,
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: even just below average, like, offensive play.
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: Bro, if we... We are essentially... We are.
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: We're the opposite of what the Dallas Cowboys are.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: And just the one drive that Iowa had, you know
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: what I mean? Like as well as your defenses played,
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: even just that one drive that they gave up when
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Iowa ended up scoring, it's like you just needed, yeah,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: it's always the last.
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: And that was, dude, there was multiple penalties on third
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: and whatever, third and long that they don't convert and
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: we get penalty and then we got a penalty and
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: they get to continue their drive.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: Dude.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: Look at those scores, dude.
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: It's disgusting. It's disgusting, dude. We're scoring 20.3 points per
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: game right now as a team. We're one of the
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: worst offenses ever in the history of football.
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: And we have so much talent, man.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: I'll tell you what.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: We average 5.7 yards per carry. Sorry, six plus yards
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: per carry when we go between the tackles. I'll tell
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: you what though, you guys can be- We don't go
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: between the tackles. You guys can be masters of chaos.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: I don't give a shit about chaos, dude.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: I want to win.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: Taylor, that's your next phase in this side of things.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: The only master of chaos here is the last two games.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: Yeah, but look at the moment.
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: We'll probably be in a dogfight against Rutgers.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: Trust me, bro. It's fun. It's fun.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Just buy in.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: We'll be in a dogfight against Michigan State. Oregon's going
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: to figure it out at Oregon on November 14th.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: That's wrong. Oregon, bro.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: I'm sad, dude. Oregon's done, man. If we just had
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: a bad offense, we're undefeated right now.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: That's in that nuts to say, like, I'm not like
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: there's a fan in me.
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: That's just crazy.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: We lost to Minnesota 20 to 14. We lose to
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: Iowa 2019. And with the defending national champs, miss two
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: field goals and lose an overtime. And I don't think
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: Tommy Carl was the problem there.
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: I'll say this.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: I don't think one player on the field was the
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: issue in that game.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Yeah. I tell you what, Rutgers, I want to say
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: that they are the worst defense in college football. So
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: you get a little mojo.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: Looks like we'll score 25.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: We'll hit a new high. Then you got rivalry game
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: against Michigan State.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: Who knows who's going to win that one.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: Then you go out to Eugene. Bro, Oregon's there. A
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: lot of those guys, I feel like it could be
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: a packet in. It could be a packet in for
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: some of those players on that roster.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Not Lanning.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: But I'm saying those guys who are paid, they're going
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: out there to win the natty. It's not happening. Everybody's
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: probably hitting up their agent right now. Where can we go?
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: Blah, blah, blah.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: You beat Oregon. You go on a three-game streak. You're
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: hosting the top probably five team in the country at
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: the time in UCLA. They're probably going to be undefeated.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: You create some chaos in Ann Arbor, and you make
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: that last game against Ohio State real interesting because they'll be–
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: they'll be wounded with a loss coming out of Lincoln, Nebraska.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: And then you can really, then you just five game stretch.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: Then who knows?
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Let's say, let's say Ohio State.
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: For this year's playoffs is not off the table.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Hang on, hang on, hang on.
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: Playoffs is not off the.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Table right now. I'll even do your next one.
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: Oklahoma goes on a run. All right, they're right.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: We shut them down.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: UCLA, we beat them. They're top five in the country.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: We beat Ohio State. So we have maybe the best
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: resume in college football.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: Let's say Ohio State gets Nebraska because if Nebraska beats
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Ohio State, then Ohio State will fall in ranking. Let's
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: just say Ohio State is still a top five team
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: in the country. Then you take them down. You're taking
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: down two top five teams back-to-back on a five-game streak
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: with an OOT loss to Indiana, who's probably going to
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: still be a one-loss team.
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: And to be honest, Tommy Carr didn't look bad. We
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: had a little bit of juice.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: How does that sound right there?
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: It sounds like we got a playoff team. in Ann Arbor,
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: Michigan right now.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Run the ball downhill. And like you said, say Oklahoma
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: just goes on a run. You have.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: John Mateer forgave himself. We brought it up five times
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: in this podcast.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: You have.
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: We got a path. We don't control it.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: We don't control our path. It's dark, but it's there.
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: But there is a light somewhere.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: It's dark, but it's there, man. If we've learned anything
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: over these last two weeks, it's anything can happen and
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: everybody can- That's why Rucker scares me. At Rucker's.
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: That was a beautiful best friend moment.
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: That was a beautiful best friend moment.
- 1:04:59Speaker 5: I don't want to overlook that.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: That's like, that's, yeah, that was beautiful. The fact that
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: you were there for me right there just meant the
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: world to me.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: And then when the light bulb went off on two
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: top five wins to finish the year, like that, I'm
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: starting to think to myself, there's the delusion that takes place.
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: And it's like, let's get right versus Rutgers and Michigan State.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: And then Oregon's like a big, it's still at Eugene.
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: It's in Eugene. It's still in Eugene. 55,000. And it's
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: loud there.
- 1:05:28Speaker 8: Another team that we haven't really talked about that I
- 1:05:30Speaker 8: believe you had them at 15, Northwestern. They have a
- 1:05:35Speaker 8: bit of a path to get there. They're only a
- 1:05:38Speaker 8: one-loss team right now. They lost to Indiana by six points.
- 1:05:40Speaker 8: They have Oregon, which is a revenge game for Chip Kelly.
- 1:05:43Speaker 8: Then they have Iowa, Ohio State, Minnesota, and Illinois. And
- 1:05:47Speaker 8: if Ohio State's without a quarterback, that kind of throws
- 1:05:50Speaker 8: that game up in the air. Another revenge game for
- 1:05:53Speaker 8: Chip Kelly. I feel like Northwestern, nobody's talking about them,
- 1:05:57Speaker 8: and there is a chance that they could be a
- 1:06:00Speaker 8: one or maybe two loss team.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Dude, I know where we are mentally with the Big Ten,
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: but the Big Ten can get very– because another one
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: is Wisconsin. They win this week against Iowa. They don't
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: have a tough schedule throughout the rest of their final three.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: There's no more ranked games left.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: Wisconsin has two losses. All right, Northwestern.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: Right, right. But if they went out and say Northwestern,
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: all of the Big Ten gets very interesting if all
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: these scenarios kind of play out that way. Northwestern's taking care.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: They've taken care of ball.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: They're rushing the ball for 200 yards per game, too.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: They are running all over the field.
- 1:06:32Speaker 8: Chip Kelly is truly doing whatever he wants on offense,
- 1:06:35Speaker 8: and it's working. Because nobody expects Northwestern to do anything,
- 1:06:39Speaker 8: so he's like, fuck it, let's just do whatever we want.
- 1:06:41Speaker 8: And defenses have not seen that shit before, so it's working.
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: How about Aiden Giles, too? Going to Michigan State, And
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: basically just faltering. He's basically kicked out of East Lansing,
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: goes to Northwestern with zero expectation. And they're a one
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: loss team. And their only loss is to Indiana.
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: By six points. By six points.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: And then Minnesota. The Fleck Bank just diving on every
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: pile after the game in the locker room. You got
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: the Fleck Bank.
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: It is so interesting.
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: USC is just, are we in a position with USC
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: where Lincoln Riley is fighting for his life right now?
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: I think his life is pretty much getting set up
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: for him right now in Baylor. With Aranda getting fired?
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: The grenade? You know the grenade that happened last.
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: Year in the locker room?
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: That could be a possibility right there. But if you're
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: USC and you're the boosters who brought in all that
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: great talent, do you risk getting rid of Lincoln Riley
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: and worry about all those players following Lincoln Riley?
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: USC. I know that they've only lost two games, but
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: they're out of my playoff conversation. They need to move on.
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: I think Lincoln Riley is going to want to just
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: move on. What if they beat Ohio State this week?
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: They won't.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: In LA? They won't. Okay. But you're right. If they do,
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: then I guess we're back on USC for a second. Yeah,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: anything could happen.
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: That's a master of chaos scenario, too.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: If they beat Ohio State, it's going to be because
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: the back of Luke or St. Clair, whoever comes in,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: say they just play badly. You know what I mean?
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: Like three turnovers. They win a one-score game against Ohio State. Oh, yeah.
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: They got Ohio State, then Indiana, Indiana.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: They're done, bro.
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: They got Merlin.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: And UCLA at the end of the year.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: Who, based on what we just said, is coming off
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: a loss to Michigan.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, true, true.
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: Don't say it like that now. You're the one that
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: put that in my brain.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: No, I know, but if we're talking straight up USC,
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: it's like, again, you play Ohio State this week, and
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: then you got to go to Indiana. This team never
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: travels well. They're going to lose that game.
- 1:08:40Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Like USC, you just... You can see.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: One more win, and that's Maryland.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Because they don't have to go to Maryland.
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: That feels like an interim coach showdown to me.
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: Oh, really?
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: If somebody's on week one of interim, they're winning.
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: What about Lincoln Riley, OC of the Michigan Wolverines?
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: In 2027? I did just do quick math on Michigan's
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: touchdowns to roster payout, and currently Michigan is paying $ 2. 2
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: million per touchdown this season.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: JP with like three different stats this show.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: That one could have been left after the show. That
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: one didn't have to be recorded.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: Dude, it is. It's incredible.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: You got to put that one up on X.
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: It's incredible how bad our offense is.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: It is.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: It's just mind blowing. We have our whole office. Our
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: whole office line essentially comes back. We got better at
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: the wide receiver position. We have all big 10 back
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: that came back and the number one running back in
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: the class of 2026. Like, and we're not good. It
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: makes no sense. It makes zero sense to me.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: Onward. Bad week to be a. What's the Rutgers mascot?
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: Knights.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: It's the Scarlet Knights.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: Bad week to be a Scarlet Knight, man.
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: I hope so.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: Shout out Ryan Nolan.
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, I'm going to have to fight Ryan Nolan
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: this week.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: Tommy Carr will be straight.
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: We've got to find a Wolverine that's going to put
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: up some sort of a fight. I've got to beat
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: up Ryan Nolan.
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: Careful, though.
- 1:10:04Speaker 8: Luck.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: It's not Michigan's year.
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: True.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: You don't want to beat Stephanie.
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: Ryan Nolan beats me up, and then all of a sudden,
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: he's the alpha in the room 24 hours.
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, shit. What is this? What do you
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: got here?
- 1:10:15Speaker 6: What is that?
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: Talk about it.
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: You brought it up. You talked through this. Is that
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: the fix of the G6 this week? Oh, is this
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: some fix of the G6? Well, Cody had it on
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: his throne.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: His G6 throne.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: And this one has to be clipped and posted on
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: his Instagram. Yeah.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: And we need the audience out here.
- 1:10:35Speaker 7: You got no notes?
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: He's got his. He's got the graph. The audience out
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: there that screams every week, I love the fix of
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: the G6. Just know, what's your ex-account? cody graves with
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: two s's cody graves with two s's he'll be dropping
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: his clip his fix of the g6 he's gonna need
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: love and support when he drops that i got in
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: on it last week he dropped the clip on his
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: x profile but i don't know how long it was
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: up but it had about.
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: Three hours three hours 14 views man i had 14
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: views i was like soldiers that's almost a full classroom
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: hey and then.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: When i saw it i literally thought to myself oh
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: a fan of the show clipped out The fix of
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: the G6. I go and see that it's Cody. I
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: was like, all right, now we go. Now we go.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: Get the retweet.
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: Let's all sit back and enjoy a fix of the G6, boys.
- 1:11:23Speaker 7: Yeah, so I thought it needed a visual element this week.
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: Everyone always talks about podcasts needing more visual elements. So
- 1:11:32Speaker 7: I'm doing Venn diagrams. This one will be in Billy Napier,
- 1:11:37Speaker 7: the head coach of James Madison, and Heath Ledger. Billy
- 1:11:41Speaker 7: Napier lost their first game of the season against App
- 1:11:45Speaker 7: State on a game-winning field goal. They lost 34-31. Heath
- 1:11:49Speaker 7: Ledger played character Ellis Del Mar in the hit homosexual
- 1:11:52Speaker 7: romance western Brokeback Mountain. So what they have in common?
- 1:11:57Speaker 7: Both of them got backdoored by Mountaineers.
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: Okay, we're not clapping for that.
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: My fault, my fault.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: Cody never gives a facial expression that says he wants clapping.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: So it's almost like he sets the tone for my reaction.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: Because he just sits there with a straight face. I'm like, okay,
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: maybe he doesn't want to say that.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: And you always think something more is coming too. You're like, wait,
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: I don't want to jump too soon. Cody's the hardest
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: person to read of all time. You just can't tell
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: if he's joking, if he's being serious, if he's fucking around.
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: And Cody, we're saying all these things about you in
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: front of you, hoping you never change. We don't want
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: a thing to change about it.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Onward.
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: Next one.
- 1:12:35Speaker 7: John Jones and Jim Mora, Colorado State's head coach. John
- 1:12:39Speaker 7: Jones has the most title fight wins in UFC history
- 1:12:42Speaker 7: with 17, two of them coming from wins against legend
- 1:12:45Speaker 7: Daniel Cormier. Jim Mora has the worst scoring defense in
- 1:12:49Speaker 7: all of college football this year. He fired his defensive
- 1:12:51Speaker 7: coordinator at halftime earlier in the year and last week
- 1:12:54Speaker 7: made a comment about his current replacement sleeping at the
- 1:12:58Speaker 7: facility for the past two weeks. So what they have
- 1:13:00Speaker 7: in common, both guys love to publicly humiliate DCs. Trey Lamb,
- 1:13:11Speaker 7: the head coach of Tulsa and Egyptian pharaoh from the
- 1:13:14Speaker 7: book of Exodus in the Bible. Going back in time.
- 1:13:19Speaker 7: Trey Lamb, lost to Army, running back God's Power and
- 1:13:23Speaker 7: Wuhei and QB Cale Hellams for Army ran all over them.
- 1:13:28Speaker 7: They combined for over 250 yards rushing and two TDs.
- 1:13:32Speaker 7: The Egyptian pharaoh from the book of Exodus, him and
- 1:13:35Speaker 7: his cavalry were pursuing the Israelites and were subsequently drowned
- 1:13:38Speaker 7: by the parting of the Red Sea. So what they
- 1:13:41Speaker 7: have in common is both of them went up against
- 1:13:43Speaker 7: army and didn't account for God's power. Oh, these are
- 1:13:50Speaker 7: just game specific ones from last week. of course yeah
- 1:13:55Speaker 7: so Colgate played Richmond Colgate only had four rushing yards
- 1:13:58Speaker 7: in their loss to Richmond and Richmond I had a
- 1:14:02Speaker 7: fun fact about them the only college in the country
- 1:14:05Speaker 7: with the mascot being Spiders what they have in common
- 1:14:07Speaker 7: neither of them scored in the second half and Colgate
- 1:14:10Speaker 7: like the toothpaste and Spiders two things you'll see this
- 1:14:13Speaker 7: weekend for Halloween alright okay that one yeah that one
- 1:14:17Speaker 7: was for Taylor because he really likes Halloween I do
- 1:14:19Speaker 7: I like Halloween a lot that's a good poll Spooktober
- 1:14:21Speaker 7: yeah it was a Spooktober special This one, Northern Illinois
- 1:14:25Speaker 7: and Hawaii. I thought that was a fun game, just
- 1:14:28Speaker 7: the difference of places between DeKalb, Illinois and Honolulu, where
- 1:14:33Speaker 7: Hawaii is. DeKalb, Illinois is known for its manufacturing of
- 1:14:38Speaker 7: barbed wire. Honolulu was TripAdvisor's number one best place to visit.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: Nice.
- 1:14:44Speaker 7: Barack Obama lived in both of these states, Illinois and Hawaii. Nice.
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: And Washington, D.C.
- 1:14:56Speaker 6: And?
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: Go to the next one?
- 1:14:58Speaker 7: Nope.
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: No, no, no, no.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:15:02Speaker 7: So just to make matters worse, that Hawaii won 56
- 1:15:05Speaker 7: to 21 if things weren't already bad enough into calm.
- 1:15:12Speaker 7: This next one was just for me because I have
- 1:15:14Speaker 7: fun making the Venn diagrams.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: This one is Mr.
- 1:15:16Speaker 7: Krabs from SpongeBob SquarePants and my grandpa.
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: Mr.
- 1:15:21Speaker 7: Krabs was in the Navy, is unmarried, has an arch
- 1:15:24Speaker 7: nemesis named Plankton, and he once fired SpongeBob. My grandpa
- 1:15:29Speaker 7: falls asleep while driving, loves shaded parking, and gets his
- 1:15:33Speaker 7: Facebook account hacked at least once a month. Things they
- 1:15:37Speaker 7: have in common is they both own restaurants and they
- 1:15:40Speaker 7: both love a deal.
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: Yeah, they do.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: That was just fun.
- 1:15:44Speaker 7: Now that one was fun.
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: That's the fix of the G6.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: Good job, Cody. Shout out Grandpa Dave. Shout out Grandpa Dave.
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: He's still with us?
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: Okay, good, good.
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: It's like Friday in elementary school and you have like
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: a guest reader.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: Comes in when you're just super fired up to see
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: what they have to say. You have no idea what's coming,
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: but you know, it's going to be awesome. That's how
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: I feel with the fix. I feel like it needs like.
- 1:16:05Speaker 8: A little jingle kind of like how clay has.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: Some of the fix of the G sixes makes this
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: college football breakdown even better. It makes the whole thing.
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: It's the glue that holds it all together. Uh, we
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: feel good.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: I feel great. That was a fun, that was a
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: fun college football reaction right there.
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: Appreciate you guys. Uh, please consider subscribing, leave a comment, Cody,
- 1:16:24Speaker 4: last word.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: Tune in next week.
