- 1:11Speaker 1: Some of the big games in the country includes Alabama
- 1:13Speaker 1: and Mississippi State. Reese Davis of College Game Day and
- 1:16Speaker 1: ESPN says there is a chance in Starkville at 11
- 1:21Speaker 1: o'clock Central on Saturday. You're watching the first two players
- 1:27Speaker 1: taken in the NFL draft in 2028.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yeah, you are.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I mean, some of that is depending on who's drafting, obviously.
- 1:37Speaker 2: We as a society in our space. We've done a
- 1:42Speaker 2: very bad job on quarterbacks over the last couple of years.
- 1:46Speaker 2: You know, going into last year, a lot of people
- 1:47Speaker 2: were like, you know, from Nussmeyer to Klubnick, you know,
- 1:51Speaker 2: Drew Aller, all of these quarterbacks that just didn't pan out.
- 1:54Speaker 3: So you think in 2028, Keelan Russell and Kamario Taylor
- 1:58Speaker 3: could be one and two?
- 1:59Speaker 2: I don't. Reese Davis. I know.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Lance said it.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I do.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Lance agreed with Reese. Yeah. I go into, in the
- 2:06Speaker 3: last two years now, I go in every year with
- 2:08Speaker 3: smart people, including me putting together a list of, oh, man,
- 2:11Speaker 3: the quarterbacks are deep and they're so good, and then
- 2:14Speaker 3: we get into the season, and those quarterbacks that I
- 2:16Speaker 3: thought were going to be so good are not so good.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I know we've got to get to Brandon here in
- 2:19Speaker 2: a second, but I did find it interesting today, and
- 2:21Speaker 2: I don't know if you guys saw the article, Bill
- 2:23Speaker 2: Conley did quarterback rankings for all 68 Power 4 college
- 2:27Speaker 2: teams through the first month.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 2: And very, very interesting where Alabama, Auburn's quarterbacks are, if
- 2:34Speaker 2: you guys want to hit on that after Brandon.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Well, we'll ask Brandon in his way-too-early 2028 mock draft,
- 2:40Speaker 3: does he, too, have Kamario Taylor and Keelan Russell 1
- 2:43Speaker 3: and 2? Brandon, what say you? 2028 mock draft, you
- 2:47Speaker 3: ready to go there?
- 2:49Speaker 2: No.
- 2:52Speaker 3: It is a heck of a quarterback matchup, though, Saturday
- 2:54Speaker 3: and start.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 2:56Speaker 3: That maybe we didn't quite see coming at this level
- 2:58Speaker 3: in the offseason.
- 3:00Speaker 5: No, I mean, two legitimate Heisman guys in the conversation.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's going to be fascinating. It's going to be fabulous.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Yeah, you know that fan base and that program really
- 3:12Speaker 1: well in Starkville with your time in the SEC. They're
- 3:17Speaker 1: always hungry for a winner. What do you think of
- 3:21Speaker 1: them having a superstar quarterback like Kamario Taylor? He speaks
- 3:25Speaker 1: about his love for that fan base and for that program.
- 3:28Speaker 1: How do you think all that's played out so far?
- 3:30Speaker 1: You always have a good big picture of how people
- 3:32Speaker 1: are already projecting Camario Taylor free agent week three into
- 3:36Speaker 1: the season week four into the season.
- 3:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:38Speaker 2: He ain't going anywhere.
- 3:40Speaker 5: Um, you know, Mississippi state's prepared for that, uh, financially. Um,
- 3:44Speaker 5: and I mean that, that love he's got for that
- 3:47Speaker 5: place is, is legitimate. Um, you know, this is a
- 3:50Speaker 5: guy that was sitting through games just as a fan
- 3:53Speaker 5: when there were two and 10 going every single game. And, um,
- 3:57Speaker 5: You know, I just think that, you know, a lot
- 4:00Speaker 5: of us have just become so cynical these days in
- 4:03Speaker 5: a lot of ways because of NIL.
- 4:05Speaker 2: But I don't see him leaving that place.
- 4:09Speaker 5: And, you know, it's amazing just like you talk about
- 4:16Speaker 5: generational talents and everything. And, you know, Mississippi State's had
- 4:20Speaker 5: that with Dak Prescott and now with Kamario Taylor there, quarterback.
- 4:24Speaker 2: And you go back, you try to think, like, when's– all.
- 4:27Speaker 5: These times that Mississippi State's had a good quarterback. It's
- 4:32Speaker 5: been pretty impressive what Mississippi State's been able to kind
- 4:35Speaker 5: of draw there talent-wise over the last 15, 20 years.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Brandon, we love hypotheticals here, and Brown asked an interesting
- 4:43Speaker 2: one just a little bit ago. This is kind of
- 4:46Speaker 2: difficult to do, but just pretend you didn't see any
- 4:49Speaker 2: top 25 rankings this year. You can't base this off
- 4:52Speaker 2: last year. just eye test through the first four weeks
- 4:56Speaker 2: of college football, what would your top five look like?
- 5:00Speaker 2: Florida would be in there. Ohio State. Let me see here.
- 5:10Speaker 3: This, by the way, was on the heels of Shannon Dawson,
- 5:13Speaker 3: the Miami offensive coordinator. I'm sure you've seen it say
- 5:15Speaker 3: we shouldn't have preseason AP polls. So I just made
- 5:17Speaker 3: the challenge. If you ignore all of last year, you
- 5:20Speaker 3: can't consider last year. You can only consider what you've
- 5:22Speaker 3: seen this year. And so far, you and Lance are
- 5:25Speaker 3: tracking pretty well here.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Yeah, okay.
- 5:28Speaker 5: So yeah, Miami, Ohio State, Florida.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Where are you on Texas? They beat Ohio State? I hesitate.
- 5:40Speaker 5: I hesitate with them. Let's go ahead and put them
- 5:43Speaker 5: in there. They've got two really good... Good wins, obviously, Texas.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I mean, Georgia's played garbage, but they have annihilated everybody. Georgia, yeah. Yeah,
- 5:51Speaker 2: I'd go Georgia.
- 5:52Speaker 5: I saw them play in person a couple weeks ago,
- 5:55Speaker 5: and they're just stacked. And I think the two most
- 5:59Speaker 5: physical teams in the country, well, in the SEC at
- 6:02Speaker 5: the very least, are Florida and Georgia.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And you're right.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Georgia just hasn't been tested. But seeing them in person,
- 6:10Speaker 5: they were pretty impressive. So I guess they'd be in
- 6:12Speaker 5: my top five. Those five teams, I don't know what order, though.
- 6:17Speaker 1: When I was watching South Carolina and Alabama on Saturday night,
- 6:21Speaker 1: I was trying to think back to coaches that had
- 6:25Speaker 1: public displays of mutiny, like I saw with Dylan Stewart
- 6:30Speaker 1: a couple of times. I know what it says about
- 6:34Speaker 1: Dylan Stewart. What does that say about Shane Beamer's situation
- 6:37Speaker 1: at South Carolina?
- 6:38Speaker 5: I was talking to some sources over there, and they
- 6:42Speaker 5: said it wasn't surprising. as far as, like, that revolt coming,
- 6:46Speaker 5: not necessarily from Dylan Stewart, but just from the locker room.
- 6:50Speaker 5: And that was a little bit eye-opening when I heard that.
- 6:53Speaker 5: You know, the clock's ticking there. And, you know, Shane's
- 6:56Speaker 5: always been the type of person who's very reactive to
- 7:00Speaker 5: what people say about him. You see it at practically
- 7:03Speaker 5: every press conference. He's responding somehow, some way, to some
- 7:06Speaker 5: perceived slight. And he did it again yesterday, in fact,
- 7:11Speaker 5: you know, talking about how fans... Hate hearing him say
- 7:14Speaker 5: we had a great practice, and he brought that up.
- 7:18Speaker 5: You know, clock's ticking there. Schedule's so much tougher, you know,
- 7:23Speaker 5: right now, and he's in the midst of it. And, yeah,
- 7:27Speaker 5: I think he knows that the writing's kind of on
- 7:28Speaker 5: the wall.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Don't tell Shannon Dawson, but he's got a good shot
- 7:31Speaker 3: at a top 25 win this week.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Shannon Bieber does as he tries.
- 7:34Speaker 3: To save his job, Blake Kentucky. Uh, Brandon Marcello is
- 7:37Speaker 3: with a CBS sports at B Marcello. You see him
- 7:39Speaker 3: on CBS sports, read him at CBS sports.com. Um, though
- 7:43Speaker 3: they are undefeated and frankly, they've had some one-sided wins.
- 7:46Speaker 3: This Indiana team does not look the same as the
- 7:49Speaker 3: last two iterations for Kurt Cignetti. Are they flying too
- 7:52Speaker 3: close to the sun right now? Brandon, this wind streak, um, continues,
- 7:56Speaker 3: but boy, it feels like it is, it is running
- 7:58Speaker 3: out of fuel.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:00Speaker 5: You know, my colleagues, the CBS sports, I was talking
- 8:03Speaker 5: to a couple of them and, um, They kind of
- 8:05Speaker 5: laughed at me when I said Northwestern would be their
- 8:07Speaker 5: first test. And, you know, Indiana, one of the issues
- 8:14Speaker 5: is like, you know, Josh Hoover's not Fernando Mendoza. You
- 8:18Speaker 5: see him missing on some throws. And, I mean, no
- 8:22Speaker 5: one's close to what Fernando Mendoza did last year anyway. But, yeah,
- 8:26Speaker 5: they just don't seem to kind of have it so
- 8:31Speaker 5: far this season. But the good thing is, as much
- 8:33Speaker 5: as we criticize them with the weak schedule they play
- 8:36Speaker 5: year after year, maybe that'll help them kind of get
- 8:39Speaker 5: into the groove of things and get some confidence to
- 8:41Speaker 5: where maybe they're playing a little bit above their heads.
- 8:44Speaker 5: Because right now, they just don't have it. And Ohio State,
- 8:50Speaker 5: they should beat them. But when your season with them,
- 8:54Speaker 5: with their schedule, comes down to one or two games...
- 8:57Speaker 5: It's almost like Boise State way back 10, 15 years ago,
- 9:01Speaker 5: where you just kind of had to have them be
- 9:03Speaker 5: up for one huge game, and they would pull off
- 9:06Speaker 5: a huge win, whether it was in a season opener
- 9:08Speaker 5: against a Power 5 team or in the bowl game.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I think Indiana, in a lot of ways, is kind
- 9:13Speaker 2: of set up for that with their schedule. Also kind
- 9:16Speaker 2: of missing it, although they're 4-0 also, is Texas. You
- 9:19Speaker 2: kind of said, I'm holding on them. They do have
- 9:22Speaker 2: two impressive, not impressive wins, on paper impressive wins, Great
- 9:25Speaker 2: fourth quarter against Ohio State. And then they found a
- 9:28Speaker 2: way to win in Neyland last weekend. But when you
- 9:30Speaker 2: look at the schedule coming up, Brandon, I mean, outside
- 9:33Speaker 2: of Arkansas, every game is losable. Obviously, every game is
- 9:37Speaker 2: winnable as well. But where are you on this Texas
- 9:39Speaker 2: team as a whole right now? I want to see
- 9:42Speaker 2: their offense just like explode. I'm like waiting for it.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I keep waiting for like the big, big game from them.
- 9:48Speaker 5: And that hasn't happened. That's what I'm hesitant about. You know,
- 9:52Speaker 5: I was at the Ohio State-Texas game. And, you know,
- 9:55Speaker 5: even in the fourth quarter comeback, I'm sitting there and
- 9:58Speaker 5: I'm not like an X's and O's guy, but I
- 10:00Speaker 5: was watching Arch Manning, and there were guys that were open.
- 10:03Speaker 5: I could see, and I'm like, he was almost hesitant
- 10:06Speaker 5: to throw it to them in that third and fourth quarter.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Kept checking the ball down, and obviously that got them
- 10:12Speaker 5: to the end zone and to win the game, but
- 10:14Speaker 5: I was just like, it's almost like they got a
- 10:18Speaker 5: restrictor on their on their car. Like they're, they're not
- 10:21Speaker 5: hitting full speed the way they could. And, you know,
- 10:24Speaker 5: at this point, man, you're, you're, we're now five weeks
- 10:27Speaker 5: into the season and I keep waiting to see it.
- 10:30Speaker 5: And I haven't seen it yet. You know, there's the
- 10:32Speaker 5: potentials there for it. And that defense has just been
- 10:36Speaker 5: absolutely incredible. But I guess that's just the one thing
- 10:38Speaker 5: I've been hesitant about is like, this team could be
- 10:41Speaker 5: so much better. And maybe that's just like, not necessarily
- 10:44Speaker 5: an indictment on Texas. Maybe that's saying something about Texas
- 10:47Speaker 5: that gosh, they're undefeated. They've got the two, maybe more
- 10:50Speaker 5: impressive wins in all of college football this season, and
- 10:52Speaker 5: yet we're still going, this thing's going a little bit
- 10:56Speaker 5: too slow. It's so much capable of more.
- 10:59Speaker 1: In my 30 years of covering the SEC, there's some
- 11:02Speaker 1: mysteries out there and some great stories from Logan Young
- 11:05Speaker 1: falling up a staircase to his death, to Bobby Pacino's motorcycle,
- 11:10Speaker 1: to the tales of Joey Freshwater and Tuscaloosa. Where does
- 11:14Speaker 1: this Don Julio Auburn story.
- 11:18Speaker 1: How big of a deal is this? I read it,
- 11:20Speaker 1: and I'm thinking, I don't... I mean, it's bad, but
- 11:23Speaker 1: I don't know how big of a deal this is.
- 11:25Speaker 1: How big of a deal is it?
- 11:27Speaker 5: I don't think we'll remember it in a year or two,
- 11:30Speaker 5: or let alone maybe like three weeks. This certainly looks like,
- 11:35Speaker 5: in my opinion, and from reporting on it and talking
- 11:38Speaker 5: to people, it just seems like a jilted.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Lover, someone who was.
- 11:43Speaker 5: uh lied to their boss got found out because they
- 11:48Speaker 5: said they were sick got found out went to an
- 11:50Speaker 5: auburn baseball game in a super regional got fired for
- 11:54Speaker 5: it and then was like i'll show you and then
- 11:57Speaker 5: puts them on blast and like sends you know pretty
- 11:59Speaker 5: much like you know like like an x like singing
- 12:02Speaker 5: out screenshots out to everybody that they know just mass
- 12:06Speaker 5: mail mass spam and um You know, some of that
- 12:10Speaker 5: information certainly can be damaging. And I had, you know,
- 12:14Speaker 5: just to be quite frank, I had a call, you know,
- 12:16Speaker 5: last night from someone going, hey, what information did you
- 12:19Speaker 5: guys get? And, you know, I guess they're worried I
- 12:24Speaker 5: was going to share it myself. I'm like, well, no,
- 12:26Speaker 5: I'm not going to do that. But secondly, you know,
- 12:31Speaker 5: it's one thing to share recruiting information, which is like,
- 12:35Speaker 5: I mean, all these programs pretty much know what the
- 12:37Speaker 5: other is doing with recruiting on the trail. But game
- 12:40Speaker 5: plans are much different. And I think everybody involved in
- 12:45Speaker 5: this just realizes just.
- 12:46Speaker 2: How incoherent this person was and so low on the
- 12:54Speaker 2: totem pole that their access to certain information was not
- 12:58Speaker 2: going to be so damning to the program anyway. And
- 13:03Speaker 2: a lot of people in the industry, coaches and everything,
- 13:06Speaker 2: just think it's more funny It's funny than anything else.
- 13:09Speaker 2: You know, the Don Julio name.
- 13:11Speaker 5: It's just SEC stuff, man. This seemingly only happens here.
- 13:16Speaker 3: I mean, it was so irrelevant, I guess, that a
- 13:20Speaker 3: number of the schools, if not all of them, alerted
- 13:22Speaker 3: Auburn of this, right? That, hey, you got a guy
- 13:24Speaker 3: that's sharing your stuff.
- 13:26Speaker 5: Yeah, and then they turned it over to the police
- 13:29Speaker 5: because it's like, well, you know, my understanding of it
- 13:32Speaker 5: is it's like the former employee you know, sharing information,
- 13:37Speaker 5: like how are they getting a hold of it if
- 13:39Speaker 5: they're a former employee?
- 13:42Speaker 2: And, you know, also like who was it?
- 13:47Speaker 5: You know, I'm sure they had an inkling of maybe
- 13:49Speaker 5: potentially who it was and then they figured it out
- 13:51Speaker 5: through the police and the police investigated for a couple
- 13:54Speaker 5: of weeks. I think what made this, you know, more
- 13:56Speaker 5: interesting maybe to some people is just like the timing
- 13:58Speaker 5: of it.
- 13:58Speaker 2: It's Tennessee week.
- 13:59Speaker 5: The kid claims that he's now a student at Tennessee
- 14:02Speaker 5: and But by the way, I haven't been able to
- 14:04Speaker 5: find actually any.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Records that he's actually a student at Tennessee right now.
- 14:09Speaker 5: It's just, I don't know.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Just a weird little story, I guess, to fill a
- 14:17Speaker 2: couple of days. Very predictable that coming off that loss
- 14:20Speaker 2: against Oregon on Saturday, Lincoln Riley's buyout would become A
- 14:23Speaker 2: big point of discussion, $ 70 million is the number people
- 14:27Speaker 2: are throwing out out there. What are you hearing on
- 14:29Speaker 2: your side? Do you think USC would get $ 70 million
- 14:33Speaker 2: up to fire him? And if they did, what kind
- 14:35Speaker 2: of direction would they be looking?
- 14:37Speaker 5: Yeah, my colleague Matt Zenitz reported this week that that
- 14:40Speaker 5: was a possibility, that there would be folks in there
- 14:45Speaker 5: that would potentially be.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Able to put up that money. At this point, I guess...
- 14:50Speaker 2: you know, if Lincoln Riley just like can't get them
- 14:52Speaker 2: in the playoff hunt this year, there's questions about whether
- 14:56Speaker 2: or ever do it. He's leaning onto the, the, the
- 14:58Speaker 2: explanation of, well, I got all these five-star freshmen this
- 15:01Speaker 2: year that I'm playing and we're still pretty young, but
- 15:04Speaker 2: you know, he's years and years.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Into his tenure there. And the same things, the same,
- 15:10Speaker 5: there's the same theme here. The defense just isn't ever
- 15:13Speaker 5: good enough.
- 15:14Speaker 2: And when is it ever going to be good enough?
- 15:15Speaker 2: You just hired an hall of fame coach. to be
- 15:19Speaker 2: your defensive coordinator and Gary Patterson, um, who would they
- 15:23Speaker 2: maybe go after? Man, that's a great question. I sit
- 15:26Speaker 2: back and I'm trying to think you'd need to go
- 15:29Speaker 2: with someone that's going to draw some eyes, someone with
- 15:32Speaker 2: a lot of West coast ties, but also has the ability, um, and,
- 15:37Speaker 2: and wherewithal to be able to win on the road. And, um,
- 15:42Speaker 2: If USC were to come open, this would maybe be
- 15:44Speaker 2: the cycle to do so because I don't think this
- 15:48Speaker 2: is going to be a very busy coaching carousel. We
- 15:52Speaker 2: had that last year, but a lot more hesitation to.
- 15:56Speaker 5: Fire folks right now because of the money issues. Secondly,
- 16:00Speaker 5: these coaching carousels are usually led by the SEC. When
- 16:03Speaker 5: there's a heavy SEC cycle, it affects everything.
- 16:07Speaker 2: As of right now, it's very quiet.
- 16:11Speaker 5: I think a program like USC if it were to
- 16:13Speaker 5: come open and be able to have the pick of
- 16:15Speaker 5: the litter.
- 16:15Speaker 3: I just I just want to see Brandon's reaction when
- 16:17Speaker 3: you say it so give Brandon the name you were
- 16:20Speaker 3: championing the other.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Day Bob Chesney that'd be a villain move wouldn't.
- 16:26Speaker 5: It hey I mean they've they've they've uh they've had
- 16:30Speaker 5: some issues like that before among assistant coaches going back
- 16:33Speaker 5: and forth um.
- 16:36Speaker 2: I guess, I mean, when you look at the schedule, Brandon,
- 16:38Speaker 2: it probably falls apart, but you never know. I mean,
- 16:40Speaker 2: the team looks so buttoned up, and they're sitting there
- 16:43Speaker 2: at 4-0, and we went through the schedule yesterday. Nine,
- 16:46Speaker 2: maybe ten games are possible if everything broke right. Oh, man.
- 16:53Speaker 2: You know, when it comes to Bob Chesney, by the way,
- 16:55Speaker 2: I think he would be more, I think he would
- 16:58Speaker 2: stay there, but he'd only leave for a job if
- 17:00Speaker 2: it was out back east. You know, he's a Pennsylvania guy.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Obviously, I don't know if Penn State would open up
- 17:07Speaker 5: even in the next five years, but he doesn't strike
- 17:10Speaker 5: me as someone that would want to stay out west
- 17:11Speaker 5: for another job.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I think he'd just stay there and maybe move on
- 17:14Speaker 2: at some point. Yeah, I mean, USC, I think they're
- 17:21Speaker 2: in trouble this year. But it's just the same stuff.
- 17:25Speaker 2: It just seems like Lincoln can never get them ready
- 17:28Speaker 2: for a big game.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Speaking of big games, it feels like it's going to
- 17:32Speaker 3: be one of those years in the SEC. LSU has
- 17:34Speaker 3: the big win against Clemson. They lose at Ole Miss.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Ole Miss beats, then loses at Florida.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Now Florida goes up the road from where you're at
- 17:41Speaker 1: in Missouri in that beautiful, brand-new stadium. Dangerous game in
- 17:45Speaker 1: your mind for the Gators this weekend?
- 17:48Speaker 5: Potentially, but they're so physical, and I don't see it happening.
- 17:54Speaker 5: I don't see Mizzou mounting an upset there. I really don't,
- 17:58Speaker 5: unless Florida's just completely– making a lot of mistakes and
- 18:02Speaker 5: they turned the ball over like three times. You know,
- 18:06Speaker 5: we talked about Lincoln Riley earlier, but like with Eli,
- 18:08Speaker 5: I love the guy, but you just can't beat teams
- 18:11Speaker 5: that are good.
- 18:12Speaker 2: I mean, he's Owen. What was it?
- 18:14Speaker 5: I can't remember what the record is, but like his
- 18:17Speaker 5: record against just teams that finish above 500 in the
- 18:20Speaker 5: SEC is abysmal. In addition to his record against ranked programs,
- 18:26Speaker 5: And to be quite honest, they, they, they should have
- 18:28Speaker 5: beaten Mississippi state last week and they, they kind of
- 18:30Speaker 5: choked it away.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't see Florida losing up there, man. They're, they're,
- 18:35Speaker 2: they're much more physical than those tigers.
- 18:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:38Speaker 3: I mean, Brandon's falling in love with this Florida team.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Like I have, they are so fun to watch.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Well, I mean the offensively one, they're so physical, but
- 18:46Speaker 2: just like the eye candy before the snap buster Faulkner
- 18:49Speaker 2: has just been incredible. And, I mean, I was talking
- 18:52Speaker 2: to a person who knows football much more than me,
- 18:55Speaker 2: and they were like, go, yeah, that's all great and everything, but, like,
- 18:59Speaker 2: he might have, like, the two best receivers in the SEC,
- 19:03Speaker 2: the best offensive line in the SEC, and the best
- 19:08Speaker 2: running back in the SEC, and maybe the best tandem
- 19:10Speaker 2: running backs in the SEC.
- 19:11Speaker 5: So it makes it so much easier. I'm like, yeah,
- 19:12Speaker 5: but still, it's fun watching him. The pre-snap eye candy stuff,
- 19:17Speaker 5: you know.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, if they stay healthy, I could– we'll see.
- 19:24Speaker 2: I mean, it's still down the road. I'm like a
- 19:26Speaker 2: month away. But, man, Florida, Georgia could be something special
- 19:29Speaker 2: this year.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Yep. The old cocktail party in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
- 19:33Speaker 2: In Atlanta. In Atlanta, yes. The world's largest indoor cocktail party.
- 19:38Speaker 2: That's right. That's what it's going to be this time, yes.
- 19:40Speaker 2: With a Chick-fil-A. They got a Chick-fil-A in there.
- 19:42Speaker 3: You should go ahead and get that T-shirt printed and
- 19:44Speaker 3: get that out there. Florida fans will buy them up
- 19:47Speaker 3: if they win that one, trust me. All right, here's
- 19:49Speaker 3: Brandon Martin.
- 19:50Speaker 2: I'll have B.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Marcillo on social media. Watch him on CBS, CBS Sports Network,
- 19:54Speaker 3: and read his work at CBSSports.com. Brandon, thank you very
- 19:58Speaker 3: much for the time.
- 19:59Speaker 2: All right, see you guys.
- 20:00Speaker 3: All right, take care. Brandon with us on the next round.
- 20:03Speaker 1: NFL power reigning for the week when we come back,
- 20:05Speaker 1: but also a question about Steve Sarkeesian and this Texas offense.
- 20:11Speaker 1: They're number one in the country, but are they going
- 20:14Speaker 1: against history? That's next on the next round presented by
- 20:17Speaker 1: Hard Rock Bet here on Sporting State.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Back with you on the next.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Round, and NFL football cranks back up tomorrow night.
- 20:25Speaker 2: We head to week four. of the National Football League.
- 20:28Speaker 1: And we've got our weekly NFL rankings that we want
- 20:33Speaker 1: to show you now, our power rating that we all
- 20:35Speaker 1: throw out there, our top five and our bottom five
- 20:39Speaker 1: every week. And it looks something like this. Brownie, your
- 20:43Speaker 1: top five is? I start right at the very top
- 20:47Speaker 1: of the San Francisco 49ers. Followed by the Kansas City Chiefs,
- 20:51Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills, and many would say, how do you
- 20:54Speaker 1: have the Bills number three?
- 20:55Speaker 3: Well, the Bills turned it over five times last week
- 20:57Speaker 3: in a win, granted. I got the Ravens at number four,
- 21:03Speaker 3: and I have the two loss LA Rams, who I
- 21:07Speaker 3: still think are a very good football team and will
- 21:09Speaker 3: win the NFC at number five. Lance, let's save yours.
- 21:12Speaker 3: I'll give you mine real quick. I reluctantly moved the
- 21:15Speaker 3: Rams to six on mine and moved the Bears to
- 21:18Speaker 3: five because I tubed believe they're good but I go
- 21:21Speaker 3: Bills Seahawks 49ers Chiefs and then I throw the Bears
- 21:25Speaker 3: in there without Caleb Williams they showed me something the
- 21:28Speaker 3: other night give me your top five.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Lance 49ers I think they're the best team now these
- 21:32Speaker 2: injuries are starting to pile up and that's always been
- 21:34Speaker 2: a concern for Kyle Shanahan but if they can avoid
- 21:37Speaker 2: that I mean they're just really really airtight right now
- 21:40Speaker 2: the Bills the Josh Allen factor is way too much
- 21:43Speaker 2: Seattle Sam Darnold was shaky last week. Lost to the Commanders.
- 21:48Speaker 2: They did. But look, those things randomly happen in the NFL,
- 21:51Speaker 2: so I'll give them a pass. It's still your defending champions.
- 21:54Speaker 2: The Chiefs right now at four. I don't know how
- 21:56Speaker 2: much I believe in them, but they are undefeated. The Jags,
- 22:00Speaker 2: I think a lot of people forget. I think they've
- 22:03Speaker 2: won 11 of the last 13 regular season games. They
- 22:05Speaker 2: lost in Denver. I know Denver's 2-1. The Jags are 2-1.
- 22:10Speaker 2: But there is something about that Denver home field advantage.
- 22:13Speaker 2: I think the Jags are a really, really good team.
- 22:16Speaker 2: So that's what I got top five.
- 22:17Speaker 3: And then down at the bottom, we have a lot
- 22:20Speaker 3: of the same.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Brown, you've moved the.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Dolphins out of 32 where LT and I have them.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:25Speaker 3: I mean, Dolphins, man, they were only down seven with
- 22:27Speaker 3: six minutes to go at home against the Chiefs. It's
- 22:30Speaker 3: better than what the Titans are doing. So based on
- 22:33Speaker 3: my week-to-week reactions, I've got the Dolphins up to 31.
- 22:37Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 22:38Speaker 1: We're all universal on the Buccaneers at 30. Brown, you're
- 22:42Speaker 1: still not buying the Falcons out of the bottom. I
- 22:44Speaker 1: put the Commanders there still despite their win this past week.
- 22:47Speaker 3: They beat the Seahawks. Falcons beat the Packers.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Come on, man. The Falcons' offense looked much different. Much different.
- 22:54Speaker 3: One game.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Let me see. I will move them out of 29
- 22:56Speaker 2: if they.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Do it better.
- 22:57Speaker 2: And then I had to put the Chargers in there.
- 22:59Speaker 2: They're 0-3. They're 0-3. Dunaway has got the Cardinals who
- 23:02Speaker 2: beat the Chargers on their home turf at 28.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Those things happen in the NFL. Somebody said smartly. About
- 23:09Speaker 3: 90 seconds ago.
- 23:10Speaker 2: It's true.
- 23:11Speaker 3: That's our NFL Power Ratings for the week. The NFL
- 23:13Speaker 3: cranks back up tomorrow night. Much more on that tomorrow
- 23:17Speaker 3: on the show as we get to our Thursday game.
- 23:19Speaker 3: The show being brought to you by our friends at

- 24:11Speaker 1: One of the biggest games in the country, Alabama and
- 24:13Speaker 1: Mississippi State, 12 noon, 11 central in Starkville, where they
- 24:17Speaker 1: ring cowbells. This past weekend, 41,000-plus cowbells being rung at
- 24:23Speaker 1: the same time, setting a Guinness Book of World Records
- 24:26Speaker 1: It is a tradition there in Starkville. Bray Hubbard, Alabama,
- 24:30Speaker 1: captain on the cowbell situation.
- 24:34Speaker 4: I mean, you hear him for a while. I mean, defensively,
- 24:38Speaker 4: we don't really have to worry about it much. If
- 24:41Speaker 4: they gain a couple yards, they're going to ring them.
- 24:44Speaker 4: If they gain 10 yards, they're going to ring them.
- 24:45Speaker 4: No matter what, they're going to ring them. So, you know,
- 24:48Speaker 4: just being prepared for them. I mean, that's just, I guess,
- 24:52Speaker 4: their kind of way of yelling is they ring cowbells.
- 24:54Speaker 4: We've got to be prepared for that offensively, defensively.
- 24:57Speaker 2: So, yeah, that's about it. What a breakdown. It's a
- 25:02Speaker 2: great tradition.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Well, his point is you don't get used to it,
- 25:06Speaker 1: but you sort of get used to it. Like it
- 25:07Speaker 1: becomes a certain level of loud, and they do ring them.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Every play.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Every play. Start and finish.
- 25:13Speaker 3: But when you watch it, like I was watching the
- 25:15Speaker 3: game last week, and I thought to myself, that is
- 25:18Speaker 3: such a, I don't want to say an annoyance.
- 25:21Speaker 2: If I say weird, it sounds like it's a negative.
- 25:24Speaker 2: It's a tradition.
- 25:24Speaker 1: It's unbelievable. It's a great tradition, but it's odd that,
- 25:29Speaker 1: that it's a, it's allowed or B that they, that,
- 25:32Speaker 1: that they do that. And what it's just, it's just
- 25:35Speaker 1: an odd situation that that's the one place in the
- 25:38Speaker 1: world that you have to go there and there's, 50,000
- 25:41Speaker 1: people ringing cowbells while you're trying to call police.
- 25:43Speaker 2: By the way, weird and odd are synonyms. I know.
- 25:47Speaker 3: You're trying to tiptoe and not offend the Mississippi State people.
- 25:50Speaker 3: You're trying not to paint them into Texas A & M.
- 25:51Speaker 3: I love that somebody gives you your cowbell and it's
- 25:55Speaker 3: painted up.
- 25:55Speaker 2: It's got this great tradition. It's a great tradition.
- 25:58Speaker 3: The story behind it with the cow on the field.
- 26:01Speaker 2: It was banned for a minute.
- 26:03Speaker 3: It's been back and forth, and now you ring responsibly.
- 26:06Speaker 3: I haven't been over there in a while, but apparently
- 26:08Speaker 3: they do this. huge video presentation about ringing responsibly and
- 26:11Speaker 3: if you watch on tv like they all go silent
- 26:14Speaker 3: at the same time it is kind of weird when
- 26:16Speaker 3: you watch it on tv supposed to be at the
- 26:18Speaker 3: 15 second mark and that's not the way it works
- 26:20Speaker 3: it's generally at the snap you know or right when
- 26:22Speaker 3: the when the center touches the ball it's the same
- 26:24Speaker 3: time when the music is supposed to stop inside the
- 26:27Speaker 3: stadium like lane like uh the music is playing over
- 26:30Speaker 3: the loudspeakers anything like that and oftentimes that doesn't happen
- 26:33Speaker 3: on away games either especially if you're trying to go
- 26:36Speaker 3: fast and I think the Mississippi State people do as
- 26:40Speaker 3: good a job as you can to ring responsibly as
- 26:43Speaker 3: the music guy does at away stadiums. I've talked to
- 26:45Speaker 3: a lot of players that have played there, and they
- 26:48Speaker 3: almost universally say the same thing. The first couple of
- 26:52Speaker 3: plays you hear, and it's weird, and you get so
- 26:54Speaker 3: used to it that it's just crowd noise at LSU
- 26:56Speaker 3: or crowd noise at Tennessee. It's really no different. Or
- 27:00Speaker 3: crowd noise at Bryant-Denny or Jordan-Hare. It's just no different. Yeah.
- 27:03Speaker 3: that it's not, I mean, the first, you hear it
- 27:05Speaker 3: early and you're like, man, this sounds weird, but two
- 27:07Speaker 3: or three plays into the game, you don't think about
- 27:08Speaker 3: it anymore.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Do you think all of the Starkville season ticket holders,
- 27:11Speaker 2: this is like white noise to them? I do, yeah.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Well, I would imagine, I would love generational testing of hearing.
- 27:18Speaker 3: over the years, if it has impacted your hearing at all.
- 27:21Speaker 2: The worst would be if they had leaf blowers. I mean, seriously,
- 27:25Speaker 2: the cowbell is bad.
- 27:27Speaker 7: But I think the leaf blowers... I put this in
- 27:29Speaker 7: the chat. I think the cowbell is worse than the
- 27:31Speaker 7: Vuvuzela from the World Cup. That just sounds like a
- 27:35Speaker 7: swarm of bees.
- 27:37Speaker 1: But to your point, North Dakota State and Sac State's
- 27:39Speaker 1: new up to it. Maybe they should start the leaf
- 27:41Speaker 1: blower as their tradition. Pass it down, generation after generation.
- 27:44Speaker 2: That would be a pain in the ass to carry in, though,
- 27:46Speaker 2: wouldn't it?
- 27:46Speaker 3: Remember fans to blow responsibly.
- 27:48Speaker 2: That'd be quite the t-shirt.
- 27:51Speaker 3: Great advice, by the way.
- 27:53Speaker 1: All right, so Steve Sarkeesian, Ari Wasserman, who I love
- 27:57Speaker 1: his content at On3Sports, he and Andy Staples together, asked
- 28:01Speaker 1: this question. Is it time for Sark to continue... to
- 28:06Speaker 1: consider not calling plays. Now, just history here. Last head
- 28:12Speaker 1: coach who called plays was the primary play caller to
- 28:15Speaker 1: win the national championship was Jimbo Fisher, 2013. Nobody since
- 28:20Speaker 1: then that is the primary play caller has won a
- 28:23Speaker 1: national championship. Last week, they were 3-12 on third down conversions,
- 28:29Speaker 1: 201 yards passing for Arch Manning, and Arch catches all
- 28:34Speaker 1: the blame. But how good is Sark calling plays? I mean,
- 28:38Speaker 1: how many targets did Cam Coleman even have?
- 28:42Speaker 3: Cam Coleman is a mystery. Like, I just.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Wrote it off. Is he not just the same guy
- 28:46Speaker 2: he was at Auburn? Well, but, I mean, he is.
- 28:49Speaker 2: But I wrote it off.
- 28:49Speaker 3: The mystery is I wrote it off at Auburn that
- 28:51Speaker 3: Hugh Freeze's offense was antiquated, easy to figure out, easy
- 28:56Speaker 3: to defend. And sure enough, the first game Hugh Freeze
- 29:00Speaker 3: isn't there, Cam Coleman has his career game for Auburn.
- 29:04Speaker 3: And I just– That's what I wrote that off, but Lance,
- 29:08Speaker 3: Texas Cam Coleman is Auburn Cam Coleman.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, one grab last week, 262 yards of
- 29:13Speaker 2: total offense against that Tennessee defense, to your point. Something's
- 29:17Speaker 2: broken right now with the Texas offense. Now, the good
- 29:19Speaker 2: news is the defense has carried them. They've only needed
- 29:22Speaker 2: to have good offense really in one quarter. They were
- 29:25Speaker 2: able to get away with it at home against Ohio State.
- 29:28Speaker 2: And everybody goes Arch. Well, here's the only thing I
- 29:30Speaker 2: would say. I wouldn't believe after a full month of
- 29:33Speaker 2: a sample site against those two opponents, Ohio State and Tennessee,
- 29:36Speaker 2: that miraculously this thing's going to do a 180, but
- 29:40Speaker 2: it did it last year. I mean, we saw the
- 29:42Speaker 2: exact same thing with Texas, and the offense busted out.
- 29:45Speaker 3: So your point is they've survived September.
- 29:48Speaker 4: Yep.
- 29:49Speaker 3: And last year, if they continue on that trajectory, that
- 29:52Speaker 3: they will be a tough out at the end of
- 29:54Speaker 3: the year.
- 29:54Speaker 2: They would have lost— At least the Ohio State game
- 29:57Speaker 2: last year with Orch.
- 29:58Speaker 3: But let's be consistent, historically consistent on this show. Steve
- 30:01Speaker 3: Sarkeesian has the Texas job for what reason? He's one
- 30:04Speaker 3: of the greatest play callers in college football history. And
- 30:06Speaker 3: we saw that at Alabama.
- 30:08Speaker 2: 2020, yep.
- 30:08Speaker 3: And people looked at that and everybody glazed Steve Sarkeesian
- 30:14Speaker 3: for that Alabama 2020 team. They're like, man, this guy,
- 30:18Speaker 3: if you weren't around for that, just listen anytime the
- 30:21Speaker 3: name Buster Faulkner gets mentioned. That's the way they used
- 30:23Speaker 3: to talk about Steve Sarkeesian.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Yep.
- 30:25Speaker 3: The way Buster Faulkner gets talked about now in Florida
- 30:27Speaker 3: was Steve Sarkeesian in 2020. And that's how he got
- 30:29Speaker 3: the Texas job. So let's be consistent here because we
- 30:31Speaker 3: say this all the time. Hugh Freeze got the Auburn
- 30:34Speaker 3: job for two reasons. He had beaten Alabama twice, and
- 30:36Speaker 3: people thought he was a good offensive coordinator. Better comparison
- 30:40Speaker 3: to me is Gus Malzahn. Gus Malzahn got the Auburn
- 30:42Speaker 3: job 100%. He had not beaten Alabama as a head coach, obviously.
- 30:46Speaker 3: He had his coordinator. But he got the Auburn head
- 30:47Speaker 3: coaching job because as a coordinator... For the first couple
- 30:51Speaker 3: of years, maybe for the first year and a half,
- 30:53Speaker 3: he ran an offense that people couldn't diagnose, and then
- 30:55Speaker 3: they started diagnosing it. But Auburn fans thought, you know,
- 30:58Speaker 3: we'll get back to that. That's the whole reason he
- 31:01Speaker 3: got the job, is to call plays. So why do
- 31:03Speaker 3: I want Steve Sarkeesian to quit calling plays? May as
- 31:05Speaker 3: well fire him as the head coach, right? Well, primary
- 31:08Speaker 3: play caller. I mean, but that's the reason I hired him.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Yeah, but primary play caller, like Lane Kiffin. I still
- 31:13Speaker 1: think he is a big, heavy hand in calling plays.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Yes, I'm sure he is.
- 31:17Speaker 3: But technically, he's not the primary play caller. It's Charlie
- 31:19Speaker 3: Weiss Jr.
- 31:20Speaker 2: I mean, this is what got to a different degree
- 31:23Speaker 2: Mike Gundy in a lot of trouble.
- 31:24Speaker 3: When he started giving up play calling?
- 31:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Or he refused to.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I don't remember. Yeah, but even when he was calling plays,
- 31:32Speaker 2: he seemed overwhelmed. We remember times where he had nothing
- 31:35Speaker 2: to do what was going on on the field when
- 31:37Speaker 2: defense was on the field.
- 31:38Speaker 3: He would sit at the offensive bench at the offensive
- 31:40Speaker 3: huddle with his back to the field lands. When his
- 31:42Speaker 3: defense was out there.
- 31:44Speaker 2: And that's why you hired him. But he got to
- 31:46Speaker 2: the point he couldn't delegate it.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Remember, Dabo used to call plays. And before they got
- 31:51Speaker 3: really good, he gave up the play calling. But he
- 31:53Speaker 3: was the play caller there for a bit. Jimbo Fisher
- 31:57Speaker 3: got criticized a lot at Texas A & M at
- 31:59Speaker 3: the end. He wouldn't give up play calling.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of it's ego. I mean, again, Sean
- 32:03Speaker 2: Payton Sunday night almost took it back. And it was
- 32:06Speaker 2: going to happen. Davis Webb was almost done.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Yeah, he was about to lose that gig. I mean,
- 32:09Speaker 3: that was going to look bad on national TV. This
- 32:12Speaker 3: one as well, by the way. Really interesting article from
- 32:15Speaker 3: Ari there on should you get the play calling, you know,
- 32:21Speaker 3: the headache of play calling being the primary play caller
- 32:24Speaker 3: off of Sark's plate. But other, all right, if you
- 32:28Speaker 3: just say Steve Sarkeesian doesn't call plays anymore, what has
- 32:30Speaker 3: Steve Sarkeesian done to earn being the head coach at Texas?
- 32:34Speaker 3: I mean, does he have big wins? Ohio State was
- 32:36Speaker 3: a big win.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Because he was such a good offensive coordinator, he got
- 32:40Speaker 2: the job.
- 32:40Speaker 3: I know, but I mean, it's not like if you
- 32:43Speaker 3: strip the play calling away, the questions about Steve Sarkeesian.
- 32:46Speaker 2: No, it's an interesting way to look at it.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Yeah, the questions about Steve Sarkeesian have always been about
- 32:50Speaker 3: him as the head coach, not him as a play caller.
- 32:53Speaker 3: People have agreed as an offensive coordinator, the guy's been
- 32:55Speaker 3: a pretty good mind. But as a head coach, he
- 32:57Speaker 3: doesn't really have the record to back up being a
- 32:59Speaker 3: big-time head coach. A couple of things to keep in
- 33:01Speaker 3: mind with Texas as they get ready to navigate the
- 33:05Speaker 3: rest of their season, bye week this week, Oklahoma coming up.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Their athletic director, Chris Del Conte, coming out, word comes
- 33:14Speaker 3: out from a lot of big-time boosters and season ticket
- 33:17Speaker 3: holders from Texas that Del Conte wrote them a letter
- 33:22Speaker 3: and a post on all their websites that, It was embarrassing,
- 33:26Speaker 3: the players' actions, the celebrations in the winter at Tennessee.
- 33:31Speaker 3: He issued an apology to them for the way they acted.
- 33:34Speaker 3: He's had a discussion with Steve Sarkeesian. Steve Sarkeesian has
- 33:37Speaker 3: talked to those players individually. He's talked to a team
- 33:40Speaker 3: as a whole. And both Sarkeesian and Del Conte promised
- 33:44Speaker 3: the Texas people that it will not happen again, that
- 33:47Speaker 3: it was embarrassing for the Texas brand.
- 33:50Speaker 2: It was.
- 33:50Speaker 3: I mean, when you see a player simulate something Removing
- 33:55Speaker 3: his penis and peeing on an opponent.
- 33:58Speaker 2: That's embarrassing. He removed it? Simulated.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Tyler, you missed the word simulated. Totally different if I
- 34:04Speaker 3: don't use the word simulated. Remove is still an odd
- 34:08Speaker 3: choice there. Remove from his pants, Tyler, yes. Remove from
- 34:10Speaker 3: his pants.
- 34:11Speaker 2: He air whipped it.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Yeah, and urinate on an opponent. That's an embarrassing moment
- 34:16Speaker 3: for your brand. I don't care how big or small
- 34:18Speaker 3: your brand is.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Very creative, but embarrassing.
- 34:21Speaker 3: It is, but it's embarrassing. UMass is the smallest brand
- 34:24Speaker 3: in football. It's embarrassing for them. It's not just because
- 34:27Speaker 3: Texas is a big brand. It's just because that's embarrassing. Yeah,
- 34:29Speaker 3: and if that happened with UMass, you would have seen it.
- 34:32Speaker 3: You would have seen it, and you would have been,
- 34:33Speaker 3: my God, what is going on at UMass? Good year
- 34:35Speaker 3: for them, but what are you doing here?
- 34:36Speaker 2: Who's coaching?
- 34:37Speaker 1: Texas brand. The key is, did anybody really see it?
- 34:39Speaker 1: Ten most watched games this past weekend. The graphic our
- 34:42Speaker 1: friends at On3 Sport throw out every week, but it
- 34:45Speaker 1: was another banner week.
- 34:46Speaker 2: For the ABC.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, people did see that celebration. Texas and Tennessee,
- 34:51Speaker 1: the most watched game. That number there, what is that,
- 34:54Speaker 1: almost 13 million, a little over 12 million, Forrester?
- 34:58Speaker 2: Looks like 9.8.
- 35:00Speaker 3: 9.8, so nowhere close to 12 million.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Round it up.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Boy, I thought I saw 12 million there somewhere. Ole
- 35:07Speaker 1: Miss and Florida, number two. Texas A & M and LSU,
- 35:11Speaker 1: number three, which is surprising. Going on at the same
- 35:13Speaker 1: time as Oregon and USC, but that power of the
- 35:16Speaker 1: SEC back-to-back-to-back on the ABC network had Texas A &
- 35:20Speaker 1: M LSU more watched than Oregon USC. Does that surprise you, Lance?
- 35:26Speaker 2: Oh, yes, it does. I guess it's just you dial
- 35:29Speaker 2: in on ABC and you just kind of hang out there.
- 35:32Speaker 3: And what did NBC have leading in? Like, you don't
- 35:34Speaker 3: have college football all day on NBC.
- 35:35Speaker 2: I mean, it was early local news, probably.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Yeah, so, I mean, now I've got to remember, oh, yeah,
- 35:41Speaker 3: Oregon and Southern Cal are playing on NBC.
- 35:44Speaker 1: But, you know, the power of back-to-back-to-back games on ABC
- 35:47Speaker 1: compared to the games on ESPN, Alabama, one of the
- 35:50Speaker 1: most watched teams in college football, I think the most
- 35:53Speaker 1: watched team in college football last year, Because they weren't
- 35:56Speaker 1: on ABC, they were on ESPN. They're eighth this week
- 35:58Speaker 1: with a night game against South Carolina, opposite of all
- 36:00Speaker 1: that greatness that was going on on the other channels.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Georgia in that early game against Oklahoma, ninth most watched
- 36:07Speaker 1: behind things like Illinois and Ohio State, the big noon kickoff.
- 36:11Speaker 1: And look at there, Friday night, Northwestern and Indiana. That
- 36:14Speaker 1: Friday night window for Fox is starting to show up weekly.
- 36:18Speaker 1: on that top ten list every week.
- 36:20Speaker 3: And they got a pretty good one this week with
- 36:21Speaker 3: Penn State Northwestern. Northwestern opening that stadium. They've put good
- 36:24Speaker 3: games there, and it's paid off for them.
- 36:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the most watched games in week four. Again,
- 36:29Speaker 1: a big heavy hand in the SEC at the one, two,
- 36:32Speaker 1: and three spot on ABC all day. And they'll be
- 36:38Speaker 1: starting things off with Camario and Keelan this week. And
- 36:41Speaker 1: it should be a big number for that game. as
- 36:44Speaker 1: those two quarterbacks go at it in the rain. Any
- 36:47Speaker 1: update on the forecast, Brownie?
- 36:49Speaker 3: I saw locally here in Birmingham, a guy named James
- 36:52Speaker 3: Spann has been the longtime meteorologist of note here in Birmingham,
- 36:55Speaker 3: said showers, so that's good, not thunderstorms. Thunderstorms equal delays sometimes.
- 37:01Speaker 2: This is in Starkville.
- 37:01Speaker 3: This is in Starkville, a high of 80 and showers
- 37:05Speaker 3: throughout the game. So it's going to be a wet game.
- 37:08Speaker 3: I mean, there's a possibility, yeah, which is unfortunate. I'd
- 37:11Speaker 3: really like to see these two quarterbacks play you know,
- 37:14Speaker 3: in clean conditions just because it's such a good quarterback matchup.
- 37:17Speaker 3: But I think you're probably going to have to deal
- 37:20Speaker 3: with the wet football at some point. I'm sure both
- 37:23Speaker 3: teams are drilling for it this week. I mean, I'm
- 37:25Speaker 3: sure you've had wet ball drills all week at both places.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Well, I hope our.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Equipment guys in Tuscaloosa are better suited than they were
- 37:34Speaker 1: at the start of the Kentucky game. Did it not
- 37:35Speaker 1: look like Alabama was slipping and sliding on the I
- 37:38Speaker 1: think grass up in Kentucky.
- 37:40Speaker 2: If you forget something, it's going to be a long
- 37:41Speaker 2: turnaround on a drive over on a Saturday.
- 37:44Speaker 1: To have to drive in the morning over there and
- 37:46Speaker 1: then turn around and drive back to drive back on.
- 37:47Speaker 2: A Saturday morning. I'll never forget. So this was the
- 37:52Speaker 2: 1999 divisional game, Rams against Minnesota. Jeff George was quarterbacking Minnesota.
- 37:57Speaker 2: But the big deal was there was like a lucky
- 37:59Speaker 2: brace that Isaac Bruce always wore. the Rams wide receiver,
- 38:03Speaker 2: and they had to do a police escort to go
- 38:05Speaker 2: back because they left that brace before the game. The bracelet.
- 38:08Speaker 3: Had to go back and get it.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Yep. Wow.
- 38:11Speaker 3: This is the one, Isaac. I promise you this is
- 38:12Speaker 3: the one.
- 38:13Speaker 2: No, it's not. Go back.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Go back and get it. I'm not playing without that bracelet.
- 38:17Speaker 1: When we come back, some grades on the first-year coaches
- 38:20Speaker 1: in Power 4. By the way, some guys are off
- 38:24Speaker 1: to a pretty good start as we put one month
- 38:26Speaker 1: behind us. This is the next round presented by Hard
- 38:29Speaker 1: Rock Bet on Sporting State. We didn't get to this
- 38:32Speaker 1: Monday or Tuesday. We're going to get it off our
- 38:34Speaker 1: sheet right now and get it off our chest, much
- 38:37Speaker 1: like Derek Mason did after MTSU.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Lost at Jack State, correct?
- 38:42Speaker 1: That is correct. This past weekend in a game in
- 38:46Speaker 1: Conference USA for Jack State.
- 38:48Speaker 3: That also is correct. Here's Derek Mason, one-time Stanford defensive coordinator,
- 38:53Speaker 3: one-time Vanderbilt and the SEC head coach, now coaching at
- 38:57Speaker 3: Middle Tennessee State, and he had this to say after
- 39:00Speaker 3: the game.
- 39:01Speaker 6: Man, I just had some serious dialogue, man, about, man,
- 39:06Speaker 6: the referee calls in this damn ball game. Okay, man,
- 39:09Speaker 6: I'm tired of the bullshit. Excuse my French.
- 39:12Speaker 3: I'm tired.
- 39:13Speaker 6: Okay, at the end of the day, man, we got
- 39:14Speaker 6: to get to a point, man, where these damn referees
- 39:17Speaker 6: show up, man, and do their damn job. Okay, man,
- 39:20Speaker 6: there's over, you know, 17 submitted, you know, man, holding calls, okay, man,
- 39:25Speaker 6: against a really good Jack State team, that were ready
- 39:28Speaker 6: and available. And they were at the point of confrontation.
- 39:31Speaker 6: And I thought, man, this was straight up bull. For us, man,
- 39:36Speaker 6: I don't mind a loss. And I'm not one to
- 39:39Speaker 6: ever get in front of the media and talk about
- 39:42Speaker 6: these types of things. But at the end of the day, man,
- 39:43Speaker 6: these referees got to be better. They got to do
- 39:46Speaker 6: their damn job and be better.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Okay, man?
- 39:48Speaker 6: And that's a message going out to everybody, okay, who
- 39:51Speaker 6: refs these damn games.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Be better. Always like me some Derrick Mason. Be better, Lance.
- 40:00Speaker 3: I assume you get used to the officiating in the
- 40:03Speaker 3: SEC and back then the Pac-12. And then those people
- 40:07Speaker 3: usually work their way up through Conference USA and the
- 40:10Speaker 3: Sun Belt to get to the SEC. They are eventually
- 40:12Speaker 3: SEC officials. They just are not there yet.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Yeah, they eventually get there. By the way, I'd only
- 40:16Speaker 1: bring that up because, excuse my French, I don't think
- 40:19Speaker 1: bullshit is French.
- 40:22Speaker 2: I failed that class several times.
- 40:24Speaker 3: Probably not.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Old saying. I like horse shit more than bullshit. Pardon
- 40:28Speaker 2: my French.
- 40:29Speaker 3: Great comedic stand-up guy I just saw recently on TikTok,
- 40:32Speaker 3: says you've got to know the animal of the shit
- 40:36Speaker 3: you're talking about because bullshit is, you know, is that
- 40:41Speaker 3: horse shit is something not good. Chicken shit is really,
- 40:44Speaker 3: you know, you go through all the kinds of animal
- 40:46Speaker 3: shit there is that we say in meanings.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Never say gator shit.
- 40:49Speaker 3: You don't.
- 40:50Speaker 2: It's something that's different. But you know they do it.
- 40:52Speaker 2: Tiger shit. That's tiger shit.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Pardon my French actually started in the 19th century when
- 40:57Speaker 1: people literally apologized for for dropping sophisticated French words in
- 41:01Speaker 1: English conversation, and that's how it started.
- 41:03Speaker 3: Pardon my French.
- 41:05Speaker 7: If you ever wanted to know the etymology of bullshit,
- 41:09Speaker 7: bull was originally an old French word, bole, meaning deception, fraud,
- 41:14Speaker 7: or trick.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Oh, so actually Derek Mason might be correct.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it was French. Look at Derek Mason showing his dollars. Well,
- 41:21Speaker 2: he wasn't Vanderbilt for a while. That's right. And he
- 41:24Speaker 2: wasn't Stanford for a while.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Yeah. My apologies. I'll try to do better too, Derek Mason.
- 41:29Speaker 3: I'm just glad Jack State's finally getting all the calls
- 41:31Speaker 3: in Conference USA. It shows we run that conference now.
- 41:33Speaker 2: We should.

- 42:57Speaker 3: in pursuit of a more perfect mortgage. Space U game
- 43:00Speaker 3: this weekend. UCF is at Houston, and UCF uniforms are
- 43:05Speaker 3: a tribute to the 1960s NASA uniforms worn to go
- 43:10Speaker 3: to space, just like the white uniforms that you would
- 43:13Speaker 3: see the Apollo astronauts wearing as a worked their way
- 43:17Speaker 3: to landing on the moon. So that's why UCF will
- 43:20Speaker 3: win in the Space U battle with the other institution
- 43:23Speaker 3: that is Space U. It's UCF in Houston happening this weekend. Okay,
- 43:27Speaker 3: first-year coach grades.
- 43:32Speaker 1: If I said give me coaches that you would go
- 43:35Speaker 1: A so far in Power 4.
- 43:38Speaker 3: John Summerall.
- 43:38Speaker 2: John Summerall and Bob Chastain, 100%.
- 43:40Speaker 7: Yep.
- 43:41Speaker 2: Both of them, Chesney and Summerall.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Those have got to be A-pluses even.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Do you want to lay out the coaches in no
- 43:46Speaker 2: particular order?
- 43:47Speaker 3: Okay, I'll go them out.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Just to shake it up a little bit, I'll go
- 43:53Speaker 1: Oklahoma State first. You know, I mean, the Tulsa loss
- 43:56Speaker 1: was a bad one, but he's recovered to beat Oregon.
- 43:58Speaker 1: He's got them ranked.
- 43:59Speaker 3: I'd go A-plus. I would go A-plus.
- 44:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I would go B-plus right now. I'd go B-plus
- 44:04Speaker 2: as well.
- 44:04Speaker 7: Whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 44:05Speaker 2: He lost to Tulsa. He lost to Tulsa.
- 44:06Speaker 3: You got that top 25 over there, Jay?
- 44:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I get it. Show Shannon Dawson. Show Shannon Dawson
- 44:11Speaker 2: where they're ranked. Imagine how much higher they would be
- 44:13Speaker 2: if they would have won that game. That's a team
- 44:15Speaker 2: that lost by 28 this week to Fayetteville. What number
- 44:17Speaker 2: is that?
- 44:18Speaker 3: They're 19th. If I had told you in the offseason,
- 44:23Speaker 3: Eric Morris will have Oklahoma State ranked number 19 before
- 44:26Speaker 3: they leave the month of September, you would have said what?
- 44:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:28Speaker 3: You would have said what?
- 44:29Speaker 2: I would have said that is very, very impressive. That
- 44:31Speaker 2: is an A-plus job. I would have said, you know what?
- 44:33Speaker 2: I would give that guy an A-plus unless that first
- 44:36Speaker 2: loss was to Tolton. I'm going to give him a B-plus.
- 44:38Speaker 2: I mean, they did beat West Virginia, too, by double digits.
- 44:42Speaker 3: Come on, man.
- 44:42Speaker 2: That's an A-plus. That's a pretty good West Virginia team.
- 44:43Speaker 2: That's an A-plus. I'm going to go B-plus, though.
- 44:45Speaker 3: Yeah. I'm with you.
- 44:47Speaker 2: I had it at a B. Give me Kyle Whittingham
- 44:50Speaker 2: at Michigan.
- 44:51Speaker 3: That's a C +. Should have lost to Western Michigan.
- 44:56Speaker 3: You did lose to Iowa.
- 44:57Speaker 2: I think I would go C +.
- 44:58Speaker 3: It's a C +, and they've looked bad. We can
- 45:01Speaker 3: leave the pluses and minuses off if you want to,
- 45:03Speaker 3: but you can keep doing them either way. um let's
- 45:06Speaker 3: go i mean already a plus for john summerall is
- 45:08Speaker 3: that where you go a plus yeah okay any thoughts
- 45:11Speaker 3: you want to add to the conversation.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Well i just think when you look at florida not
- 45:15Speaker 2: only does the offense look completely different it's just the
- 45:18Speaker 2: sideline energy watching florida x players back on that sideline
- 45:22Speaker 2: this past weekend against old miss there's florida pride that
- 45:26Speaker 2: crowd was going nuts like he has infused a lot
- 45:29Speaker 2: of things and You know, it quickly could come off
- 45:31Speaker 2: the rails. But where Florida is right now, I mean,
- 45:33Speaker 2: that looks like a playoff team.
- 45:35Speaker 3: UCLA?
- 45:36Speaker 2: A-plus. Same thing. Yeah, there's no fans there.
- 45:38Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, nobody's noticing it unless you stay and
- 45:40Speaker 3: watch the late games as we do. And look, I
- 45:43Speaker 3: know Maryland is no good, but they beat them– The
- 45:46Speaker 3: way you beat ain't no good team, and they came
- 45:47Speaker 3: across the country to do it.
- 45:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, what? They beat them by 51 points,
- 45:51Speaker 2: and Wayne Knight is averaging almost 10 yards a carry.
- 45:53Speaker 2: They're running the football down people's throats.
- 45:55Speaker 3: I don't know that Ohio State or Oregon would have
- 45:57Speaker 3: beaten Maryland that bad Saturday.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Oh, I don't think they would have. Six tougher ones
- 46:01Speaker 2: for me.
- 46:02Speaker 3: Let's go Kentucky first. I give him a B.
- 46:07Speaker 2: I would go B +. I mean, his one loss
- 46:09Speaker 2: is Alabama. It was a bad second half, but they
- 46:11Speaker 2: had the lead at halftime. So much like Eric Morris,
- 46:15Speaker 2: different Kind of loss, but the way they got kind
- 46:18Speaker 2: of unraveled in the second half. B-plus, though, in their offense,
- 46:22Speaker 2: has been really, really good against South Alabama. That was
- 46:24Speaker 2: their most offensive production, I think, in a decade.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Now, that South Alabama game was closer at the half.
- 46:30Speaker 3: I mean, I think that was tied at the half,
- 46:31Speaker 3: wasn't it?
- 46:32Speaker 2: 21-all. LSU. That's a B.
- 46:36Speaker 3: I mean, he's lost at Ole Miss, but I mean,
- 46:40Speaker 3: you know, I thought that was a toss-up game going
- 46:42Speaker 3: into the season. I thought they would win the game,
- 46:43Speaker 3: but it's at least a toss-up game.
- 46:44Speaker 2: It is tricky. Because La Tech, they didn't look good.
- 46:47Speaker 2: It didn't really matter.
- 46:48Speaker 3: Destroyed Clemson, though. I mean, just dismantled Clemson. And same
- 46:51Speaker 3: thing with Texas A & M. They dismantled them. I mean,
- 46:54Speaker 3: that's two dismantlings of programs, the names you recognize.
- 46:57Speaker 2: I'd probably go B.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Yeah, B, B +. Pete Golding, Ole Miss.
- 47:02Speaker 2: It was great until this weekend. I'm still going to
- 47:05Speaker 2: give him a B. Yeah, it's got to be a B.
- 47:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 47:08Speaker 2: And he beat, like, that game was so hyped up
- 47:11Speaker 2: in Oxford. To have his team ready to come out,
- 47:13Speaker 2: not be flat at all, to get up 17.
- 47:16Speaker 3: Do you feel like he has spent all the capital
- 47:19Speaker 3: he earned, though, in that LSU game by that one
- 47:21Speaker 3: loss at Florida?
- 47:22Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know about that.
- 47:23Speaker 3: The way that loss went, I mean, they got housed. Yeah,
- 47:26Speaker 3: but I think everyone was prepared for it. Thanks to the,
- 47:29Speaker 3: it was like hard rock bed. We were prepared for
- 47:32Speaker 3: that loss because. It's hard to prepare for how bad
- 47:35Speaker 3: they lost, though. They got destroyed. Yeah. Two guys that
- 47:40Speaker 3: have had different reputations on the show. James Franklin, Virginia Tech.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Oh, I'd give that an A.
- 47:45Speaker 3: He's undefeated now.
- 47:46Speaker 2: He's undefeated.
- 47:47Speaker 3: It was tricky last week. They were playing literally in
- 47:49Speaker 3: a Nor'easter, but they had to fight to beat Boston College.
- 47:53Speaker 2: It was no good. Who have they beaten? They haven't
- 47:56Speaker 2: beaten anybody, but they've still beaten everybody. Interesting game Friday night.
- 47:59Speaker 2: I just remember the last few years, Virginia Tech was
- 48:01Speaker 2: losing some of these games. Yeah, it's a big game
- 48:03Speaker 2: Friday night against Penn. Yeah, huge game. But I'd give
- 48:05Speaker 2: them an A.
- 48:05Speaker 3: Penn State. They only played one meaningful game, and they
- 48:10Speaker 3: lost it.
- 48:11Speaker 2: I would probably go, just because they had a 17-point lead,
- 48:16Speaker 2: I would go a D for Matt Campbell.
- 48:18Speaker 4: Wow.
- 48:19Speaker 2: So lower than Whittingham.
- 48:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 48:21Speaker 3: Because of the Oklahoma win for Whittingham. Well, and he's
- 48:25Speaker 3: lost to a worse team. Wisconsin's a worse team than Iowa.
- 48:27Speaker 2: I mean, that was Wisconsin's biggest comeback in 20 years.
- 48:30Speaker 2: I mean, he had a 17-point lead at home.
- 48:32Speaker 3: I think I'm going to go C. I probably don't
- 48:34Speaker 3: go as low as D.
- 48:35Speaker 2: Last one.
- 48:36Speaker 3: Alex Skola, Shawburn.
- 48:38Speaker 2: I'll go C. Now, this would look a lot different
- 48:41Speaker 2: if that two-point conversion gets in for Baylor.
- 48:43Speaker 3: Oh, then it's maybe a D.
- 48:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:48Speaker 3: I would go B-. It hasn't looked great, but you
- 48:51Speaker 3: are 3-1, and your one loss is to a team
- 48:54Speaker 3: that we are today discussing would be a top-five team
- 48:58Speaker 3: for you.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I just don't think that loss was nearly as
- 49:01Speaker 2: close as it looked, at least the final score.
- 49:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:04Speaker 2: And I thought the Vanderbilt win was really, really ugly.
- 49:07Speaker 2: With all that said, I'd give him a C. I mean,
- 49:08Speaker 2: this is still way up in the air. I don't
- 49:11Speaker 2: have a high expectation for what's going to happen over
- 49:14Speaker 2: the next two months.
- 49:15Speaker 3: Win of any sort Saturday and you give him a B.
- 49:18Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 49:19Speaker 3: Win of any sort.
- 49:20Speaker 1: A guy who is not a first-year coach, P.J. Fleck,
- 49:24Speaker 1: is trying to do something this weekend he's yet to do,
- 49:27Speaker 1: and that's win the little brown jug. Now, that's no
- 49:31Speaker 1: rivet trophy.
- 49:33Speaker 2: Whatever it was. What was it? It was a drill
- 49:34Speaker 2: bit trophy.
- 49:35Speaker 3: Drill bit.
- 49:35Speaker 2: Drill bit trophy.
- 49:37Speaker 1: The little brown jug is Minnesota and Michigan. He's 0-4
- 49:40Speaker 1: against Michigan. He's 0-4 against Ohio State. He's 40-40 all-time
- 49:45Speaker 1: in the Big Ten as the coach at Minnesota.
- 49:47Speaker 2: That's pretty good. This is when we look back and
- 49:50Speaker 2: when you don't like him, Mark Stoops was like 40-40,
- 49:53Speaker 2: and I was like, this is Kentucky, this is Minnesota.
- 49:56Speaker 2: It's a difficult job.
- 49:57Speaker 3: Fleck's been there long enough to benefit from being in
- 50:00Speaker 3: the West, right? I think he was in the Big
- 50:01Speaker 3: Ten West, so that helps that 40-40.
- 50:04Speaker 1: He's 1-2 against Penn State, so the three brands, traditional brands,
- 50:09Speaker 1: taking Indiana and Oregon out of it. He's 1-10 in
- 50:11Speaker 1: those three games.
- 50:13Speaker 3: I would submit to you if he's able to coach
- 50:15Speaker 3: 80 more games at Minnesota in the Big Ten, he
- 50:18Speaker 3: won't be 40-40 in those because he's having to play
- 50:22Speaker 3: a balanced.
- 50:22Speaker 2: Big Ten schedule. Well, if he is, he'll get another job.
- 50:24Speaker 3: Yeah, if he's that good, he won't be there for
- 50:26Speaker 3: 80 games. What are you expecting this week in that
- 50:29Speaker 3: Minnesota game?
- 50:31Speaker 2: I don't know. 11 o'clock game. I mean, Michigan 5.5
- 50:34Speaker 2: point favorite. They were 5.5 against Iowa at home. Minnesota
- 50:37Speaker 2: coming off a big West Coast trip. against what has
- 50:41Speaker 2: been kind of an overrated team, at least going into
- 50:43Speaker 2: this season, with Washington. I could see this game go
- 50:47Speaker 2: either way. I really don't have a feel right now.
- 50:48Speaker 2: I'm kind of lean Michigan, but I do think Bryce
- 50:52Speaker 2: Underwood's playing better. Now, he's not earning his money yet,
- 50:56Speaker 2: but he is much better than he was last year.
- 50:58Speaker 3: I mean, Klatt the other day rolled his eyes when
- 51:01Speaker 3: I mentioned this was the Fox big new kick and said,
- 51:03Speaker 3: we don't have the best game of the Big Ten
- 51:05Speaker 3: because they could have had Ohio State-Illinois. This will be,
- 51:08Speaker 3: I think, a closer game than Ohio State-Iowa. Excuse me,
- 51:10Speaker 3: Ohio State-Iowa. This will be a closer game than Ohio State-Iowa,
- 51:14Speaker 3: I think. Now, is it going to be aesthetically fun
- 51:17Speaker 3: to watch, Lance?
- 51:17Speaker 2: No.
- 51:18Speaker 4: No.
- 51:18Speaker 3: I don't think this game will be fun to.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Watch at all.
- 51:21Speaker 3: But I do anticipate this being a very low-scoring close game.
- 51:24Speaker 3: I don't even know what the total is, but I
- 51:25Speaker 3: would imagine it feels a lot like the Michigan-Iowa total.
- 51:28Speaker 4: 43.5.
- 51:29Speaker 3: It's pretty low.
- 51:30Speaker 1: A pretty interesting note that came out at the end
- 51:32Speaker 1: of last week involving... Miami of Ohio, James Madison, and
- 51:37Speaker 1: UConn football, they're exploring the opportunity of leaving their respective
- 51:41Speaker 1: conferences or independents and going to the American conference, which hosts.
- 51:49Speaker 1: They're always in the hunt for that group of six bid.
- 51:52Speaker 1: I don't know if that changes with the new Pac-12
- 51:54Speaker 1: and what the Mountain West is doing, but Miami of
- 51:57Speaker 1: Ohio apparently has the most money to spend of all
- 52:01Speaker 1: the MAAC teams. James Madison, we know how good they've
- 52:03Speaker 1: been in.
- 52:04Speaker 2: The Sun Belt. And then UConn would be football only.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Other sports wouldn't be going.
- 52:09Speaker 3: But football only. They're not going to give that basketball up,
- 52:11Speaker 3: are they? Miami of Ohio, James Madison, and UConn to
- 52:14Speaker 3: the American is something they're exploring, something to keep an
- 52:18Speaker 3: eye on and what.
- 52:18Speaker 1: That means for some other conferences. That's our time here
- 52:22Speaker 1: on Sporting State. Buck and Clay pick it up here.
- 52:26Speaker 1: We've got two more hours of the next round, including
- 52:29Speaker 1: Charles Barkley at 1230 Eastern, 1130 Central at Next Round
- 52:33Speaker 1: Live on all our platforms. Come back and watch some
- 52:36Speaker 1: of that at your convenience later on.
