City Manager Asks for Sabbatical Before Retirement | Concord News
City manager Tom Aspell, nearing retirement and in his mid-sixties, is requesting a three-month paid sabbatical from July 20 through October 18 — a move allowed by his contract and timed to recharge before stepping away. He’s been with Concord since 1998, serving as city manager since 2006 and rarely taking full vacations. If approved by the city council, deputy city manager Brian LeBrun will step in to handle his duties. The council’s vote will finalize the plan as the city prepares for this leadership pause.
