- 0:02Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hamewark review podcast. Oh,
- 0:27Speaker 2: I was wondering, we'll get to it. I'm Megan Who
- 0:32Speaker 2: and I'm a long time Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm
- 0:36Speaker 2: a former Hallmark hater. If you're wondering what's happening, I
- 0:39Speaker 2: think Wendy just read the notes for this episode. But
- 0:41Speaker 2: before we get there, before we get into the mail bag,
- 0:45Speaker 2: I want to take a quick minute and talk about
- 0:49Speaker 2: the bracket really quickly. Okay, okay, because I think this
- 0:52Speaker 2: is the best place to do it. I think the
- 0:54Speaker 2: best best place would be a Hallmark Headlines episode, but
- 0:56Speaker 2: we're not doing that right now, So here it is.
- 0:59Speaker 2: First of all, I want to thank you for doing
- 1:03Speaker 2: all of that work. Wendy took me one of the bracket.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Oh yay and ran it and yay.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Yes. How do you feel that it went? I feel
- 1:14Speaker 1: that it was the easiest year yet. And I don't
- 1:18Speaker 1: know why. I don't know if it's because the number
- 1:21Speaker 1: of movies or it was just clear who what everybody liked,
- 1:27Speaker 1: or everybody behaved.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know. I don't know either.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I think I think some of our core group had
- 1:36Speaker 2: heard our cries saying, don't f this up. This is
- 1:41Speaker 2: this is your chance. You're coming back to do this
- 1:46Speaker 2: against kind of your better judgment because last year was
- 1:49Speaker 2: kind of rough, and I think they knew better. A
- 1:54Speaker 2: couple people were like, oh, I don't like this match up,
- 1:56Speaker 2: and look, there's a big difference between like, oh my gosh,
- 1:59Speaker 2: this is so hard to choose, because there were definitely
- 2:02Speaker 2: matchups where I felt like that that's totally fine, as
- 2:05Speaker 2: opposed to like, oh I don't like how this met. Well, okay,
- 2:07Speaker 2: that's what happened. Like anyway, people were lovely and it
- 2:12Speaker 2: was a good time and it felt I mean, I
- 2:14Speaker 2: didn't do jack, So I was about to say it
- 2:16Speaker 2: felt easy, but it just felt smooth, like it ran easily.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yeah. I wasn't complaining on the back end to you
- 2:24Speaker 1: at all about any of it.
- 2:26Speaker 2: No, and people weren't. We didn't have people activating multiple
- 2:32Speaker 2: new accounts to vote. Were you surprised by the winner? No?
- 2:40Speaker 1: No, No, I'm surprised at the winning movie aired it
- 2:44Speaker 1: in October, you.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Know, huh.
- 2:47Speaker 1: But other than that, no, I mean, I know Ted
- 2:49Speaker 1: Cooper was such a big hit for everybody, So I
- 2:53Speaker 1: wasn't that surprised. I was surprised at the final two.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Oh me too. The final two were A Keller Christmas
- 3:00Speaker 2: Vacation and Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper. I was I in
- 3:04Speaker 2: my mind, I really thought it was going to come down.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Obviously it couldn't have worked that way, but to Ted
- 3:09Speaker 2: Cooper and Opry like those in my mind were the
- 3:12Speaker 2: final to the top two. And the only reason I
- 3:17Speaker 2: was a little bit surprised those were both five star movies.
- 3:20Speaker 2: For me, there's no bad choice there. I was just
- 3:24Speaker 2: a little bit surprised because I think Hallmark traditionalists might
- 3:28Speaker 2: have leaned a little bit harder into Opry. But maybe
- 3:31Speaker 2: the Hollmark traditionalists aren't voting in an Instagram stories, Paul.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Perhaps Okay, we've kept you waiting long enough. The reason
- 3:39Speaker 2: WHNDY was reacting is I couldn't help myself. And when
- 3:42Speaker 2: I was putting together today's list of mailbag notes, I
- 3:46Speaker 2: was going through our YouTube comments and this one stuck
- 3:51Speaker 2: out at me and I just had to include it,
- 3:54Speaker 2: just so you don't think we're front loading with only
- 3:57Speaker 2: the nice things people say. Do you know it? Yeah,
- 4:01Speaker 2: it's from CHRISTA Miller who says I think you two
- 4:03Speaker 2: suck at reviewing the pilot show Sue Thomas FBI, that
- 4:06Speaker 2: was televised two thousand and two to two thousand and five.
- 4:09Speaker 2: My suggestion is watch all three seasons then critique it.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Okay, it's so funny this person's reacting because we didn't
- 4:22Speaker 1: really like that show. Right. This is not the first
- 4:25Speaker 1: time somebody has given us feedback like, oh, you guys
- 4:27Speaker 1: should have given that show a little bit more time,
- 4:30Speaker 1: like it turns out really great, blah blah blah blah blah.
- 4:32Speaker 1: We've heard that feedback before. But when we were reviewing
- 4:38Speaker 1: one episodes only, like pilot episodes only, it's literally the
- 4:44Speaker 1: premise of that episode. Yeah, so I'm like, okay, sorry,
- 4:51Speaker 1: Like I'm I'm sorry.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I think we acknowledged that we might have liked it
- 4:55Speaker 2: more had we seen the whole season, but that wasn't
- 4:58Speaker 2: what we were doing there, So it's all right.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Part of me is like wants to be like, I'll
- 5:04Speaker 1: show you. I'm gonna watch it all right now, and look,
- 5:07Speaker 1: I'm in the habit of eating crow, so I will
- 5:11Speaker 1: gladly come back and be like.
- 5:13Speaker 2: This is a really good show, but should I watch it.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Should I watch it in my downtime, Sue Thomas FBI.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, it's really hard because January
- 5:28Speaker 1: right now, there's so much good TV coming out, so
- 5:31Speaker 1: I don't.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Really have a lot of downtime. I think it's okay.
- 5:36Speaker 2: It's okay to I just not everything is for everyone.
- 5:40Speaker 2: That show does have its fans. After we did that
- 5:42Speaker 2: first Impression episode, a lot of people came out of
- 5:44Speaker 2: the woodwork and said, actually, they really enjoyed that show.
- 5:47Speaker 2: That's great. I didn't say it wasn't worth watching.
- 5:51Speaker 1: We just didn't like the pilot.
- 5:52Speaker 2: It wasn't the greatest pilot episode. It's very dated too. Yeah,
- 5:58Speaker 2: this is true. This is true. All right, let's move on.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Okay. We got an email from Melissa. She says, love
- 6:04Speaker 1: your show, guys. I discovered it through finding Mister Christmas,
- 6:08Speaker 1: but stuck around because you guys are so great. Thanks
- 6:11Speaker 1: for doing it. I love that you are reviewing Ripple.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I stumbled upon it on Netflix last week when I
- 6:17Speaker 1: was home the day after Christmas and was hooked. I
- 6:19Speaker 1: thought it had a hallmarky feel as well, so I'm
- 6:23Speaker 1: not surprised to find out it was meant for them.
- 6:25Speaker 1: But glad you guys confirmed it was. Can't wait to
- 6:28Speaker 1: see what you guys do in the new year. Thanks
- 6:30Speaker 1: for listening, Melissa, I'm glad. I'm glad you're liking Ripple.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Oh.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I feel tortured with that show, Absolutely tortured.
- 6:41Speaker 2: It's funny because I every time I turn on Netflix
- 6:45Speaker 2: to watch something, I'm trying to make myself just watch
- 6:48Speaker 2: one episode at a time so that I'm only reviewing
- 6:50Speaker 2: that episode without any future information, because I think that's
- 6:54Speaker 2: what works best for this particular show. But I'm like,
- 6:56Speaker 2: I want to keep going because I need to know
- 6:59Speaker 2: what happened.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Well, admittedly I have watched all but the finale episode,
- 7:05Speaker 1: so but yeah, I hear what you mean. I have
- 7:09Speaker 1: to always go back. This is a me process, Like
- 7:13Speaker 1: I have to go back and like rewatch it because
- 7:15Speaker 1: I can't remember, like what comes from what episode.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I don't want to spoil anything when we're reviewing it.
- 7:20Speaker 2: You know, I have to confess that in the creation
- 7:23Speaker 2: of these mailbag episodes, I have neglected a portion of
- 7:26Speaker 2: the population, and that is our Spotify commenters. And I
- 7:34Speaker 2: don't know you ever see them, but we get a
- 7:37Speaker 2: fair number of comments on Spotify. Oh, I'm terrified now.
- 7:41Speaker 2: No no, no, no, no, no no no. I just want
- 7:44Speaker 2: to shout out the lovely Sue Adams has left a
- 7:47Speaker 2: number of comments there, and I want to give her
- 7:50Speaker 2: her moment in the sun. I want to read a
- 7:52Speaker 2: recent one from her included in this mailbag. It's not
- 7:55Speaker 2: in our notes because not only do I forget it
- 7:58Speaker 2: every week, so I forgot it this week. So here,
- 8:00Speaker 2: there you go. Sue Adam says she's commenting on the
- 8:03Speaker 2: Finding Mister Christmas reunion episode. This was an absolute joy
- 8:08Speaker 2: to watch, and the two of you being there was
- 8:09Speaker 2: an epic surprise. I screamed. Of course they loved you.
- 8:13Speaker 2: You are the shining representatives of their main fan base.
- 8:17Speaker 2: You get more people to watch Hallmark through your awesome
- 8:19Speaker 2: fun podcast, like me, a competition reality junkie who only
- 8:23Speaker 2: this year started watching Hallmark movies and now this show.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Thank you for covering in Happy Holidays. PS. Can you
- 8:30Speaker 2: please pitch a Midsummer spinoff Finding Mister Summer? Maybe? Oh interesting,
- 8:38Speaker 2: my name mister Summer kind of like that, you know.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Thank you Sue for leaving all these comments. I don't
- 8:49Speaker 1: see those on Spotify. I'm gonna have to go over
- 8:53Speaker 1: there and just peruse. You know, God, I still I'm
- 8:58Speaker 1: so I love our experience doing Friday Mister Christmas. That
- 9:02Speaker 1: was so much fun, such a highlight of the year
- 9:06Speaker 1: for me personally.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Me too.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I hate that we couldn't talk about it for months,
- 9:11Speaker 1: but that was super fun and I'm glad like those
- 9:15Speaker 1: who listen to us were excited to see us on it.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, I agree, Sue, I just want to
- 9:20Speaker 2: tell you. I'm scrolling back through some of her previous comments.
- 9:24Speaker 2: She says, also, please do Traders recaps. Unfortunately, we have
- 9:30Speaker 2: decided we are not taking on Traders recaps as much
- 9:34Speaker 2: as we want to, and we'll be watching that show.
- 9:38Speaker 2: We're trying to be smart about where we put our time.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Yeah, but Sue, come join our Patreon. We'll be talking
- 9:45Speaker 1: about and we'll be talking about Traders over there on
- 9:48Speaker 1: our pop Culture Club. Yes.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Actually, we just ran down the cast in our pop
- 9:53Speaker 2: Culture Club episode and then the episode as we record this.
- 9:57Speaker 2: The first Traders episodes dropped tonight, so we'll be talking
- 10:00Speaker 2: about it in our next pop Culture Called episode. Yes.
- 10:03Speaker 1: So that's patreon dot com slash Megan and Wendy and
- 10:06Speaker 1: I'm not trying to be like clickbaity or like whatever
- 10:11Speaker 1: the word is called. I'm just we just don't have
- 10:13Speaker 1: time to do it on our Hallmark channel, our Hallmark channel.
- 10:19Speaker 1: You know, you guys know what I mean on this podcast. Yeah, yes, yes,
- 10:25Speaker 1: unless Peacock wants to sponsor a series.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Of episodes, Oh my god, that would be unreal.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Facebook moderator Mackie she writes in she writes about the
- 10:39Speaker 1: Builtmore sequel.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Dustin Reiker, the director.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Announced in the following interview she linked an interview on
- 10:46Speaker 1: The Heart Full of Hallmark Podcasts, that the official title
- 10:51Speaker 1: of the sequel is going to be called A Grand
- 10:54Speaker 1: Builtmore Christmas. Do you have thoughts on that?
- 10:57Speaker 2: That works for me?
- 10:59Speaker 1: It works for I saw look this news. I was
- 11:03Speaker 1: really excited to see this news. I'm excited to see
- 11:05Speaker 1: a sequel to this movie. I know a lot of
- 11:07Speaker 1: people are like, no, don't touch it. It was perfect
- 11:10Speaker 1: as is. I agree with that, but I don't think
- 11:14Speaker 1: it's like a sequel. I see it more as like
- 11:16Speaker 1: a spin.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Off in the Biltmore universe.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm really excited for it.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I think it's gonna be good. I know there are
- 11:26Speaker 2: like boots on the ground.
- 11:27Speaker 1: I saw wardrobe designer costumer Keith Nielsen shared a picture
- 11:32Speaker 1: last night from the Biltmore estate. So I'm like, they're there,
- 11:37Speaker 1: They're doing it so exciting, very exciting.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Melissa emailed she just wanted to share a few thoughts
- 11:53Speaker 2: about the holiday season. She says, I like both of
- 11:56Speaker 2: you felt very unprepared for the season. I think it's
- 11:58Speaker 2: due to having one last week to prepare since Thanksgiving
- 12:01Speaker 2: was so late this year. I don't think I realized that. Yeah,
- 12:06Speaker 2: it was like December Thanksgiving weekend. Oh you're right, Okay,
- 12:10Speaker 2: go ahead, she says. For me, Mistletoe murders is the
- 12:13Speaker 2: standout of the season. She goes on to say, I
- 12:16Speaker 2: know you love twelve dates till Christmas, but I have
- 12:18Speaker 2: to say that the character of Kate is very unlikeable.
- 12:21Speaker 2: She's self centered and needs to work on herself before
- 12:23Speaker 2: her relationship with Callum will be successful.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I don't disagree. I thought Kate was likable. I do
- 12:32Speaker 1: think she needs to work on herself, though She's a
- 12:34Speaker 1: flawed human for sure.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Uh huh. The Christmas adye was a nice idea for
- 12:38Speaker 2: the story, but as far as Kelly and Aaron, they
- 12:40Speaker 2: appeared more as roommates than a couple. I didn't feel
- 12:43Speaker 2: the love between them.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Okay, here's my thoughts on that.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 12:48Speaker 1: It's one of two movies that showed a same sex
- 12:52Speaker 1: couple this season. I'm sure Hallmarks treading lightly of like
- 12:59Speaker 1: how much? Which I mean, like, what are you?
- 13:01Speaker 2: What are you expecting?
- 13:02Speaker 1: She's just saying that there was no chemistry between them.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Well I'm not.
- 13:06Speaker 2: I'm not sure one hundred percent what she's saying, but
- 13:09Speaker 2: I think your point is correct that they needed to
- 13:12Speaker 2: be Hallmark was perhaps being a little bit too careful.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Yeah, they know who their audience is and they don't
- 13:19Speaker 1: want to ruffle any sort of feathers.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, which.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Ruffle.
- 13:29Speaker 2: She closes by saying, on another note, I'm fifty two
- 13:31Speaker 2: and call my parents every day to check in, just
- 13:34Speaker 2: to my opinion, but call your parents more often. They
- 13:38Speaker 2: will appreciate it.
- 13:39Speaker 1: This is a throwback to a conversation we had regardedly
- 13:43Speaker 1: on Patreon.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Was it? And then it came over to we talked
- 13:48Speaker 2: about it in a Hallmark episode.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Yeah that's nice, Mike. Why are you calling me every day?
- 13:54Speaker 1: My dad is waiting for a phone call for me.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I'm on as soon as done. Recording here, I will
- 14:01Speaker 1: call and check in you've been sufficiently shamed I have.
- 14:08Speaker 1: I was like, is this signed by my dad? Ah
- 14:11Speaker 1: From Chantale, She writes, Ladies, I know I'm probably too late,
- 14:15Speaker 1: but I wanted to warn you that you will feel
- 14:18Speaker 1: even more sad after listening to the Mistletoe Murders podcast
- 14:24Speaker 1: on Audible because it is so good and then you
- 14:29Speaker 1: have an undetermined amount of time that you're anxiously awaiting
- 14:33Speaker 1: both the TV and audio series.
- 14:37Speaker 2: It's torturous lol.
- 14:39Speaker 1: As a side note, the writer is Canadian and I
- 14:43Speaker 1: was so excited to hear some of my very local
- 14:46Speaker 1: towns and cities mentioned. We talked about it on our
- 14:49Speaker 1: Patreon episode. You and I both are currently listening to
- 14:55Speaker 1: season one of Mistletoe Murders on Audible. It's very good.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I'm listening on Amazon Music by the way. Oh interesting, Yes, perfect,
- 15:05Speaker 2: because when I and perhaps the technology got the best
- 15:09Speaker 2: of me, but I couldn't. I think you need to
- 15:11Speaker 2: have an active Audible subscription to be able to listen
- 15:13Speaker 2: on Audible, but it's if you have a Prime subscription,
- 15:16Speaker 2: you can listen on Amazon Music. So got it.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Chantelle also also writes, I screamed when you guys came
- 15:24Speaker 1: out during the Finding Mister Christmas Reunion. I've been listening
- 15:27Speaker 1: to you ladies for so long, back when I was
- 15:29Speaker 1: yelling at you guys through my phone, when you were
- 15:32Speaker 1: just starting this and mispronouncing names and didn't have a
- 15:34Speaker 1: lot of Hallmark knowledge. And now you're being invited by Hallmark.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I'm so freaking proud of you girls. You looked amazing
- 15:41Speaker 1: and did a great job interviewing the guys. Yeah, I
- 15:46Speaker 1: Nile meter.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Sticks out in mind.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 2: I think we did a number on Aaron craig Ow
- 15:52Speaker 2: as well.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Yeah, yep, yep, yep, yeap. So thanks for being a
- 15:56Speaker 1: long time listener, Chantel. I just have a quick question.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Did you you I know you and I watched our
- 16:03Speaker 2: portion of the reunion together. Did you show that to
- 16:06Speaker 2: anybody else? My husband? Yeah, like that's family.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Oh my my parents watched it and then they showed
- 16:15Speaker 1: yeah yeah yeah, yeah.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Yeah yeah like my mom. So my mom I had.
- 16:20Speaker 2: My mom had been talking about it for so long.
- 16:22Speaker 2: So on Christmas Eve, I was like, so did you
- 16:25Speaker 2: see it? And she was like she got this look
- 16:27Speaker 2: on her face and she was like no, And my
- 16:29Speaker 2: dad goes, you should have heard her when she realized
- 16:32Speaker 2: she forgot to record it, like she in the other
- 16:34Speaker 2: room was like oh, and he like came running in
- 16:41Speaker 2: and I was like, it's fine, I could show it
- 16:43Speaker 2: to you right now. So we just watched our three
- 16:46Speaker 2: minute segment and then my aunt and Ilkle came over.
- 16:48Speaker 2: She's like, Mark, go over here, you gotta see Megan's
- 16:50Speaker 2: we watched it. Oh that's cute.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Yeah, my parents said they watched it, and then they
- 16:57Speaker 1: showed my step grandparents, who are our both nearly ninety
- 17:02Speaker 1: years old. They they sat them down and watched it too,
- 17:05Speaker 1: and I was like, that's sweet. I mean, I shared
- 17:07Speaker 1: it on my personal Instagram too. I don't know how
- 17:10Speaker 1: many people were like looking to find it or anything,
- 17:14Speaker 1: but yeah, it was exciting.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I enjoyed it. It was very exciting. Diane writes, it
- 17:21Speaker 2: was awesome to see you on the Finding Mister Christmas reunion.
- 17:24Speaker 2: I was wondering if after the Holidays you could review
- 17:27Speaker 2: Happy Howlidays with Ezra. I'm not a fan of the movie,
- 17:31Speaker 2: and it really shaped how I feed the guys in
- 17:33Speaker 2: season two after the acting challenges. I can't help but
- 17:38Speaker 2: wonder if that's why Craig wasn't a true leading man
- 17:40Speaker 2: in his movie. Craig did a great job, though I
- 17:45Speaker 2: don't think we're going to go back and do Happy Howlidays. No,
- 17:51Speaker 2: we sailed it.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean you can assume from a reaction here
- 17:58Speaker 1: while we thought about it.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Ezra A is the nicest man, a good human, produces
- 18:05Speaker 2: role wholesome positive content on Instagram. Definitely rooting for his success.
- 18:12Speaker 2: You can listen to our interview with him. I really
- 18:17Speaker 2: do wonder the details of getting from leading man to
- 18:22Speaker 2: Craig's role in A Make or Break Christmas. I really
- 18:27Speaker 2: want to know how that shook out. I'm okay with
- 18:30Speaker 2: it not being a leading role. I think there's me too,
- 18:33Speaker 2: But again, I do think Craig should have been given more.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Should do. I think there's a big difference between not
- 18:38Speaker 2: a leading role and what Craig was given. I thought
- 18:41Speaker 2: he did great in what he was asked to do.
- 18:44Speaker 2: I hope he'll get another chance. But I do think
- 18:48Speaker 2: some people really do get caught up in the fact
- 18:50Speaker 2: that Jonathan kept saying a leading role, a leading role,
- 18:52Speaker 2: a leading role, and then it wasn't that. I care
- 18:54Speaker 2: less about that, but I will continue to beat the
- 18:57Speaker 2: drum of let him do more than some react to
- 19:01Speaker 2: Hunter this entire time. Yeah, okay, yeah. Diane finishes by saying,
- 19:06Speaker 2: do you think the second Homemark Christmas movie at Builtmore
- 19:09Speaker 2: Estate could be his merry wife from the first movie.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I sure hope it is. I think the answer to
- 19:14Speaker 2: that is no, because we have a whole new set
- 19:16Speaker 2: of actors. If it was his married wife, we'd be
- 19:19Speaker 2: getting Palaha back.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, yeah, which would have been a fun spin too,
- 19:26Speaker 1: I think. But from what we know, Chris is busy,
- 19:30Speaker 1: right working on other stuff.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Chris is busy. And I don't even know if
- 19:33Speaker 2: that was a conversation to do. I know people had
- 19:36Speaker 2: talked about, like they should make that movie. I like
- 19:39Speaker 2: this direction better, like keeping it in the vein of
- 19:43Speaker 2: the original Biltmore movie. Yeah, I think so too. I
- 19:46Speaker 2: think they still leave room for doing his married wife
- 19:49Speaker 2: at some point. Sure, you know, might be so cool.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Dog just ran by with something in his mouth, and
- 19:55Speaker 2: he ran down the side of the house, and I
- 19:57Speaker 2: wonder if he's got like a secret stash of stein.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Never go over there, I'll report back. Oh no, he
- 20:03Speaker 2: just came. He just came back with the same thing
- 20:05Speaker 2: in his mouth.
- 20:06Speaker 1: So He's like, I got a pile of goodies over
- 20:09Speaker 1: here on the side of the house that you don't
- 20:11Speaker 1: know about.
- 20:11Speaker 2: He has these chews that he loves, but like they're
- 20:14Speaker 2: the only thing that lasts. I'm a reasonable amount of time,
- 20:15Speaker 2: but they still don't last that long. And sometimes he'll
- 20:18Speaker 2: when he gets one, he'll run to the backyard and
- 20:20Speaker 2: bury it, which pisses me off because I'm like, you
- 20:24Speaker 2: just buried ten dollars in the Yeah, so he's burying.
- 20:28Speaker 2: He just dug one up, and now he's bearing it again.
- 20:30Speaker 2: This is this is the life of recording a podcast
- 20:33Speaker 2: from your kitchen table. I was like, you know, no,
- 20:35Speaker 2: I saw this morning a black crow and I had
- 20:38Speaker 2: a rodent in its mouth.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I was like, no, no, please don't drop that on me.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Oh no, yeah from Sarah. Oh mg. My daughter and
- 20:47Speaker 1: I just watched last night's reunion show Finding Mister Christmas.
- 20:50Speaker 1: When they did the teaser of what was going to
- 20:53Speaker 1: happen later in the show and you all were shown,
- 20:55Speaker 1: I freaked out. My daughter had heard your voices but
- 20:59Speaker 1: not seen your face, so she had no idea why
- 21:01Speaker 1: I was excited. I just kept saying, Megan and Wendy
- 21:04Speaker 1: Megan and Wendy. As soon as she caught on, she
- 21:07Speaker 1: was as excited as I was. How did you two
- 21:10Speaker 1: keep that secret? What was it like being on set?
- 21:13Speaker 1: How did that opportunity come about? We talked about it
- 21:16Speaker 1: at length, but Megan, do you want to weigh in?
- 21:20Speaker 2: Well, let's talk about the how did you keep the secret?
- 21:22Speaker 1: Part? It's called signing an NBA.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it's called We wanted to be asked back, but
- 21:28Speaker 2: it was hard because it was such a fun day.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I mean, obviously we talked about it in the Finding
- 21:33Speaker 2: Mister Christmas reunion episode of this podcast. If you haven't listened,
- 21:37Speaker 2: we talked about the reunion, but we mostly talked about ourselves,
- 21:40Speaker 2: and I wanted to talk about it. There were so
- 21:44Speaker 2: many things and so many times during our recap of
- 21:47Speaker 2: the show that there were relevant things from our time
- 21:50Speaker 2: on set that I wanted to have an opportunity to
- 21:54Speaker 2: bring in. But I was really excited for it to
- 21:58Speaker 2: finally come out and to finally be able to we
- 22:00Speaker 2: were there.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it was. We had a really fun time on
- 22:02Speaker 1: set that day. Please go listen to our recap of
- 22:07Speaker 1: that This question, how did the opportunity to come about?
- 22:10Speaker 1: I know that has come up a couple times, and
- 22:13Speaker 1: I don't know if we fully addressed it on that
- 22:16Speaker 1: recap episode.
- 22:18Speaker 2: I think you're right.
- 22:19Speaker 1: How did the opportunity to come about? The production company
- 22:23Speaker 1: Super Delicious TV, who creates that show, makes that show,
- 22:27Speaker 1: produces that show reached out to us?
- 22:30Speaker 2: Yep.
- 22:31Speaker 1: And I don't want to like say specifically who, just
- 22:34Speaker 1: because I don't want to like a follower of us
- 22:37Speaker 1: who works for them. She kind of like put the
- 22:41Speaker 1: ball in motion. We talked to producers first over a
- 22:44Speaker 1: zoom call, and then we were invited out.
- 22:47Speaker 2: And yeah, it was.
- 22:48Speaker 1: It was very organic how it happened and kind of surprising,
- 22:52Speaker 1: and I'm just I'm so glad that they reached out
- 22:56Speaker 1: to us because I think it was genuinely like it.
- 23:00Speaker 1: It was genuine how much we love the show during
- 23:02Speaker 1: season one. So I am so glad that came through,
- 23:06Speaker 1: and I'm glad that we had the opportunity to be
- 23:09Speaker 1: part of it in a little way exactly.
- 23:11Speaker 2: We have an email from Lisa. Lisa sent us a
- 23:14Speaker 2: lot of thoughts on recent movies, but I did want
- 23:15Speaker 2: to share this one little tidbit. She says, I think
- 23:19Speaker 2: you should have some kind of contest maybe to raise
- 23:22Speaker 2: money for a favorite charity or something like that, and
- 23:24Speaker 2: the winner gets to record a podcast with y'all. That
- 23:28Speaker 2: would be so much fun. What are your thoughts on
- 23:33Speaker 2: that way, Megga, do you know if you know me,
- 23:38Speaker 2: you know I immediately went to the logistics of that.
- 23:43Speaker 2: That's immediately where my brain went, like, how would we
- 23:45Speaker 2: even do that? What kind of con Like That's where
- 23:47Speaker 2: I get hung up? Mm hmmm, what are your thoughts?
- 23:51Speaker 2: Part of me loves the idea of it, like raising
- 23:54Speaker 2: money for a charity, and our friends at Deck the
- 23:57Speaker 2: Hallmark do something like that during the holiday season when
- 24:00Speaker 2: they kick off countdown to Christmas. They have like a
- 24:02Speaker 2: whole like live show that they fundraise for local charities
- 24:08Speaker 2: and whatever, And I think that's super admirable.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I part my where my brain goes to is
- 24:15Speaker 1: like nobody listens to us that much to Like I.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Did have that thought of like nobody really wants that prize.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm like, who wants to be sitting with us?
- 24:25Speaker 2: Like I don't want to be humbled when nobody They're like,
- 24:28Speaker 2: I'll donate, but please do not let me wait? Yeah,
- 24:34Speaker 2: exactly pass on the opportunity. Thanks Lisa, We love that
- 24:39Speaker 2: you're such a supportive fan, and you think that there
- 24:41Speaker 2: are people who would find that to be a compelling prize.
- 24:46Speaker 2: They're like, can I just have the cash equivalent, which
- 24:48Speaker 2: is like a five Starbucks skills card. Hey, that's a
- 24:53Speaker 2: wrap on this week's Listener Mailbag episode. Please keep your
