6:00
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
6:01
SPEAKER_05: That's what the Marcy had put on my shirt.
6:03

6:12
SPEAKER_14: No, I think you're only there for like a day.
6:13
SPEAKER_14: So so it's two thousand years.
6:15
SPEAKER_05: So I went the first year, uh the first two years as a camper.
6:19
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
6:19
SPEAKER_05: Which they don't do anymore.
6:20
SPEAKER_05: No.
6:21
SPEAKER_05: Uh so it was 87 to 2000, really.
6:24
SPEAKER_05: Yep.
6:24
SPEAKER_05: Uh I think that's what it was.
6:26
SPEAKER_05: So 13 years.
6:27
SPEAKER_05: Yep.
6:27
SPEAKER_05: Um and you let's see, 87, 88, 89, 90.
6:33
SPEAKER_05: So you came in 90?
6:34
SPEAKER_05: Is that right?
6:34
SPEAKER_05: No, 90.
6:35
SPEAKER_05: No, no, no.
6:36
SPEAKER_05: 96.
6:36
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
6:37
SPEAKER_05: 96.
6:38
SPEAKER_05: So I was with you at camp for four years.
6:41
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
6:41
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
6:42
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, we were at Baptist Park, and then you didn't make the transition to uh main school of science and math.
6:49
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
6:49
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
6:50
SPEAKER_05: That's right.
6:51
SPEAKER_05: I didn't make that transition.
6:52
SPEAKER_05: That's right, because 2001.
6:55
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
6:56
SPEAKER_05: I was just trying to get it all straight in my head.
6:58
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
6:59
SPEAKER_05: Um but yeah, she's really excited about going.
7:02
SPEAKER_05: Good.
7:02
SPEAKER_05: I'm I'm glad she's excited.
7:03
SPEAKER_05: Good.
7:04
SPEAKER_14: And uh I'm gonna I'm gonna make sure I introduce her to Ed.
7:07
SPEAKER_05: Um I would really like to come up.
7:10
SPEAKER_14: Should, man.
7:11
SPEAKER_05: It's VIP Day and we're gonna be.
7:12
SPEAKER_05: I know, Wednesday, right?
7:13
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
7:14
SPEAKER_05: I would really like to come up and uh just see Ed.
7:17
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
7:17
SPEAKER_05: That would be fun.
7:18
SPEAKER_14: I think you should, man.
7:19
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
7:19
SPEAKER_05: If I can do it, if I can swing it.
7:21
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
7:21
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
7:21
SPEAKER_14: I mean, you got nothing going on.
7:23
SPEAKER_05: True.
7:24
unknown: True.
7:24
SPEAKER_14: It's not like you're working.
7:26
SPEAKER_14: I mean, you could take a break from the basement.
7:28
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I built another shelf.
7:29
SPEAKER_14: Uh you'd just be like, oh, I gotta get out of the basement.
7:31
SPEAKER_14: I'm gonna go out for a minute.
7:34
SPEAKER_14: Four kent.
7:35
SPEAKER_05: Right.
7:36
SPEAKER_05: I uh because he what speaks at what nine?
7:39
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, roughly.
7:40
SPEAKER_05: Roughly nine.
7:41
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
7:41
SPEAKER_05: Um yeah, I built another shelf.
7:43
SPEAKER_05: Noise because there was I just have so much crap.
7:46
SPEAKER_05: So I built another shelf and just put that crap on there to get it out of the way so that I can go through it.
7:52
SPEAKER_05: And uh I mean it looks it looks cleaner in there, but it's it's still there's still too much, way too much junk.
7:59
SPEAKER_05: But as you can see, I did start sorting through the wall of tunes.
8:03
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
8:03
SPEAKER_05: Uh and uh as I was telling you before, before we started the podcast, I think what I'm gonna do, because we're we're doing the um uh smasher trash, right?
8:14
SPEAKER_05: I I told you I would take out all the CDs that I want to keep, and I started that process.
8:19
SPEAKER_05: So there's still I'm still keeping quite a quite a few CDs.
8:23
SPEAKER_05: Well, that's but there's a whole crate here that I'm that I'm gonna get rid of.
8:26
SPEAKER_05: Correct.
8:27
SPEAKER_05: Um and there are some that I'm on the fence about.
8:31
SPEAKER_05: Um so I have a pile of those, and that pile is gonna get bigger, I'm sure.
8:35
SPEAKER_05: Uh once I go through all of those ones.
8:38
SPEAKER_05: And I have I don't know if you knew this or not.
8:41
SPEAKER_05: These cupboards are full of CDs.
8:44
SPEAKER_05: Well, I knew they're all the country CDs.
8:46
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
8:46
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
8:46
SPEAKER_05: So I'll go through those too.
8:47
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
8:47
SPEAKER_14: And you got movies in there, don't you?
8:48
SPEAKER_05: And I and I got movies in there, and I'm getting rid of those too.
8:51
SPEAKER_05: So um that's what I'll do.
8:54
SPEAKER_05: The ones that I'm on the fence about, I will uh we'll we'll that's what we'll choose from.
8:58
SPEAKER_05: Absolutely.
8:59
SPEAKER_05: To do this smash or trash.
9:01
SPEAKER_05: And that still could last quite a long time.
9:03
SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah.
9:03
SPEAKER_14: Um I'm expecting that.
9:05
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
9:06
SPEAKER_14: Uh we have a and I've been playing at church camp too.
9:09
SPEAKER_14: That's been fun.
9:09
SPEAKER_14: Oh, that's right.
9:10
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
9:11
SPEAKER_05: I just came from there.
9:12
SPEAKER_05: So we we had our uh Haystack Union rehearsal on Wednesday, and you were uh you were somewhere else.
9:18
SPEAKER_05: No, Sunday.
9:18
SPEAKER_05: Was it Sunday?
9:19
SPEAKER_05: Did I say Wednesday?
9:20
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
9:20
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it was Sunday.
9:21
SPEAKER_05: Uh you were somewhere else, and and uh we just talked about this as as well.
9:26
SPEAKER_05: So you were preparing in your mind to be at church camp.
9:29
SPEAKER_05: So tell me how that's going.
9:30
SPEAKER_14: It's going great.
9:31
SPEAKER_05: You are you playing drums?
9:32
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
9:32
SPEAKER_14: Okay.
9:33
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, that's what that's what's fun.
9:34
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
9:34
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
9:35
SPEAKER_14: It's uh it's weird because I'm playing with people that I've only played with once before, and that was last year.
9:40
SPEAKER_14: And they're uh the Wilson sisters from uh Prescow.
9:44
SPEAKER_14: Wilson sisters.
9:45
SPEAKER_05: Uh I think Olivia or some oh Wilson Wilson Wilson, I'm trying to place that.
9:53
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
9:54
SPEAKER_05: Wait, wa uh about how old?
9:56
SPEAKER_14: They're probably 17.
9:59
SPEAKER_05: So they go to the Prescott High School?
10:00
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
10:02
SPEAKER_14: Their mom works there, or she's a part uh she's on staff somewhere.
10:06
SPEAKER_05: Uh uh probably I probably know them, but I just can't I can't place them.
10:09
SPEAKER_14: Anyway.
10:10
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, and then uh there's a a redhead girl.
10:13
SPEAKER_14: I don't know her name.
10:14
SPEAKER_14: I've been calling her Molly in my head.
10:17
SPEAKER_06: Okay.
10:17
SPEAKER_06: In your head?
10:18
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
10:18
SPEAKER_14: Well, I don't want to be like, hey Molly, and she'd be like, it's it's Sarah.
10:22
SPEAKER_14: You know, she's a redhead, I've you know, redhead Irish Molly.
10:26
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
10:26
SPEAKER_14: It fit in my head.
10:27
SPEAKER_06: There you go.
10:28
SPEAKER_14: And then of course my cousin Lindsay is playing keyboards and a kid named Kyle, who everybody's obsessed with because yesterday all the kids were like, Kyle, Kyle, and all he was doing was just sitting there playing a guitar.
10:40
SPEAKER_14: So I was just like, oh good.
10:43
SPEAKER_14: Of course, I jumped on that dog pile.
10:44
SPEAKER_14: Kyle!
10:46
SPEAKER_11: So you know.
10:47
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
10:48
SPEAKER_14: Good.
10:48
SPEAKER_14: It's been fun.
10:49
SPEAKER_14: Good.
10:49
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it's it's uh it's weird being a Baptist playing at a Wesleyan church camp because you know, Baptists we don't believe in instruments besides the piano.
10:58
SPEAKER_02: Right.
10:59
SPEAKER_14: You know, if you if you bring another instrument into a Baptist church, uh, you know, it'll catch on fire and send you to hell.
11:05
SPEAKER_05: Uh I know you're being I don't think that theologically sound.
11:08
SPEAKER_05: I know you're being facetious.
11:09
SPEAKER_05: Yes.
11:10
SPEAKER_05: Baptists don't they are okay with other instruments, right?
11:14
SPEAKER_14: I'm just Well, they're okay with it.
11:15
SPEAKER_14: They just don't play them.
11:16
SPEAKER_05: It's just it's just traditionally they're just piano.
11:19
SPEAKER_14: It's all piano, organ, and you know, you know, if if if anybody like dares to clap, everybody's like, what's happening?
11:27
SPEAKER_14: What are they doing?
11:29
SPEAKER_16: Yeah.
11:30
SPEAKER_14: You know, and you know, of course Wesleyan's they're all like, you know, they're like half Baptist, half Pentecostal, so they're like, ah, you know, hands in the air, clapping.
11:39
SPEAKER_05: You know, so it's funny that you say that because I had uh I was at Mass on Sunday, Catholic Mass, right?
11:45
SPEAKER_05: So here's the difference.
11:46
SPEAKER_05: So Catholic music is very reverent and and usually organ and piano and and you know, just very how can I say it?
11:56
SPEAKER_05: Reverent is a good word.
11:58
SPEAKER_05: Stuffy.
11:59
SPEAKER_14: Well, they're all a dirge.
12:01
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it's like it's all the same temple.
12:03
SPEAKER_14: Okay, yeah, yeah.
12:05
SPEAKER_14: It's beautiful for the most part, but it's but it's uh you can't really get into it because you're like, yeah.
12:11
SPEAKER_05: Right.
12:11
SPEAKER_05: So so the uh the the person that usually does it wasn't there, so they had the the the person the people that do it on Saturdays mass uh were doing it on Sunday, and they are up front, not up in the uh choir loft.
12:25
SPEAKER_05: They're up front, and it's a guitar and microphones, and it was like a Catholic hoot nanny.
12:31
SPEAKER_05: It's like Hallelujah, allelujah.
12:34
SPEAKER_05: Everybody nobody knew what to do.
12:36
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they're like What is this?
12:38
SPEAKER_05: What is this devilry that's up on the stage right now?
12:41
SPEAKER_05: What is what is that?
12:43
SPEAKER_05: And then she'd be like, she she would not yell at the congregation, but she would be like, uh uh, now's your last chance to sing.
12:51
SPEAKER_05: I couldn't hear you last time.
12:52
SPEAKER_05: And I'm like, Are you supposed to do that during a mass?
12:55
SPEAKER_14: Is that allowed?
12:56
SPEAKER_14: I don't know.
12:57
SPEAKER_14: Somebody call the Pope.
12:59
SPEAKER_14: Ask him if it's okay.
13:01
SPEAKER_05: So it's just interesting, interesting.
13:03
SPEAKER_05: I like to call it Catholic Hooten Nanny.
13:05
SPEAKER_14: Um that's what we should call the podcast.
13:08
SPEAKER_14: Catholic Hootenanny.
13:13
SPEAKER_05: Catholic hoot bait.
13:14
SPEAKER_05: No.
13:15
SPEAKER_05: Woohoo! Um so we have uh a big gig coming up Friday.
13:21
SPEAKER_05: See.
13:22
SPEAKER_05: Um we have the Associated Syndicate is playing the Fort Fairfield Potato Blossom Festival.
13:26
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
13:26
SPEAKER_05: Oh, I should tell you, um uh we uh Buck Dynasty.
13:32
SPEAKER_05: Well you had a gig Saturday.
13:34
SPEAKER_05: Last Saturday, little did I know it was the ball.
13:41
SPEAKER_05: Did you know that?
13:43
SPEAKER_05: So, so m the ball?
13:46
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, so when when um I was asked to play it, because with Buck Dynasty, we play uh it's fundraisers.
13:53
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
13:53
SPEAKER_05: You know, we don't we don't get paid.
13:54
SPEAKER_05: Right.
13:55
SPEAKER_05: Um and so that's my phone, that's what you hear.
14:00
SPEAKER_05: So uh there's like uh, you know, Wendy would be like, Can you play on uh July uh whatever it was, 10th?
14:09
SPEAKER_05: 11th, 11th, uh at the VFW for sure.
14:12
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, no problem.
14:13
SPEAKER_05: And so I just put it in my calendar.
14:16
SPEAKER_05: And then uh I think it was it was that morning I went shopping.
14:22
SPEAKER_05: Uh we went to Graves, Hannifer in Prescott, and I saw this.
14:28
SPEAKER_14: Oh, that's that's the one I saw.
14:30
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
14:30
SPEAKER_05: And I was like, wait a second, this is potato ball.
14:33
SPEAKER_05: This is the potato ball?
14:35
SPEAKER_05: This is this is the kickoff of the main potato blossom festival.
14:39
SPEAKER_05: Right.
14:40
SPEAKER_05: And so I was like, Wha what what does that actually mean?
14:46
SPEAKER_05: Right?
14:46
SPEAKER_05: Because I showed up and there's like the the place was decorated, and the usually it's a VFW, so yeah, usually they had like the rectangle tables so everybody could sit.
14:56
SPEAKER_05: They had circular tables.
14:58
SPEAKER_05: Oh, you know what's serious then.
14:59
SPEAKER_05: Right, and covered and and not as many.
15:02
SPEAKER_05: And I was like, they're not gonna have enough seats, right?
15:05
SPEAKER_05: And I was like, oh I showed up and they were like, yeah, this is the this is the ball, the potato blossom ball.
15:10
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, what?
15:11
SPEAKER_05: And it was ten bucks a person to get in.
15:15
SPEAKER_05: And uh I was like, is our crowd coming?
15:19
SPEAKER_05: Well, our crowd came.
15:21
SPEAKER_05: There was two or maybe three tables of our crowd, but then the rest of them were like dignitaries and everything for the town.
15:31
SPEAKER_05: Susan um Souvernard was there, Jane Toll was there, um and about quarter of 15 minutes before we're gonna play, the town manager came in and says, Okay, everybody, we're gonna go out to the flags and do the opening ceremony, so we'd love to have you come out and join us.
15:50
SPEAKER_05: And so we went out and they did this, like three people did speeches.
15:54
SPEAKER_05: I heard a speech from Sue Bernard.
15:55
SPEAKER_05: Uh Susan Collins rep did it, uh, Angus Young's or Angus Young, Angus King's rep.
16:04
SPEAKER_05: And uh Jared Golden's rep.
16:07
SPEAKER_05: Um, they all did like little speeches, and and somebody sang the national anthem and and something else, and Tater Raisin Man, or something like that.
16:17
SPEAKER_05: It was the opening ceremonies.
16:18
SPEAKER_14: And I'm like, like Tater Raising Man, like the the theme song from uh from uh the potato perker special.
16:24
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
16:24
SPEAKER_14: Wow.
16:25
SPEAKER_05: They played that uh right at the end.
16:27
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that was the that was the kicker.
16:29
SPEAKER_05: And then we went in, then we went in and we played.
16:32
SPEAKER_05: And you know Buck Dynasty, it's like it's like we we only play together when we play, and we don't rehearse or anything, so it's like uh key of C.
16:42
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, what song?
16:43
SPEAKER_05: Oh, okay, we're gonna do this.
16:44
SPEAKER_05: So we just play because it's country music and it's usually really fairly easy.
16:48
SPEAKER_05: And um so we start playing, and you know, some people start dancing, and then the rest of the people really didn't know how to take us.
16:56
SPEAKER_05: Because it was like really old country music.
16:59
SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, yeah.
16:59
SPEAKER_05: And uh Kinsey showed up.
17:03
SPEAKER_05: Um he showed up with uh a date, I think.
17:07
SPEAKER_05: I think.
17:08
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
17:08
SPEAKER_05: I think he was on a date, maybe not.
17:09
SPEAKER_05: Anyway, he came over to talk to me during a break, and it was it was kind of cool.
17:12
SPEAKER_05: That's how I knew that's uh so so I found out that Kinsey may be coming to the gig this weekend.
17:22
SPEAKER_14: Kevin.
17:22
SPEAKER_05: Yes, right.
17:24
SPEAKER_05: Uh because he had an obligation in Michigan on Sunday, and I told I said to Pat, I said, so does that mean he's not gonna be at the oh no, he'll be there.
17:34
SPEAKER_05: Oh.
17:35
SPEAKER_05: Because he had told Chris that he wasn't gonna be.
17:37
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, because Chris was under the impression that we needed an extra horn.
17:40
SPEAKER_14: So get this.
17:41
SPEAKER_14: Now we got like two or three extra horns.
17:43
SPEAKER_14: Right.
17:43
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
17:43
SPEAKER_05: So John Reeves is gonna be there.
17:46
SPEAKER_05: Hutch is gonna be there.
17:47
SPEAKER_05: Yep.
17:48
SPEAKER_05: Uh I think a goopal or both goopels.
17:51
SPEAKER_05: At least one goople.
17:52
SPEAKER_05: At least one goopal.
17:53
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
17:54
SPEAKER_05: Adam.
17:54
SPEAKER_14: Yep.
17:56
SPEAKER_05: And Kevin, possibly.
17:57
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, so that's five trumpets.
17:58
SPEAKER_14: That's a lot of trumpets.
17:59
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
17:59
SPEAKER_14: So we have that green matawaska stage.
18:03
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
18:03
SPEAKER_14: So I was I was saying to Chris, I stopped and I had to.
18:07
SPEAKER_14: Oh, we do?
18:08
SPEAKER_14: Oh, I wasn't.
18:08
SPEAKER_14: No, no, no, no.
18:09
SPEAKER_05: We don't have the tent?
18:10
SPEAKER_14: No.
18:11
unknown: Oh.
18:11
SPEAKER_14: Well, unless they unless they get it between now and then.
18:14
SPEAKER_14: But I doubt it.
18:15
SPEAKER_14: As far as I know, I haven't heard.
18:16
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I doubt it.
18:17
SPEAKER_14: Tim Tim's in charge, so yeah.
18:19
SPEAKER_14: Um I said, I had to get I oh I I the first night I destroyed a snare head at church camp.
18:27
SPEAKER_14: At church camp?
18:27
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I'm playing along and like ban, bang, and all of it sounded funny.
18:31
SPEAKER_14: I'm like, what the frick is.
18:32
SPEAKER_14: Is it your drums?
18:33
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it's my drums.
18:34
SPEAKER_14: But the snare head had ripped open.
18:37
SPEAKER_14: And I was like, what the f it was the stock one that came with it.
18:41
unknown: Uh huh.
18:41
SPEAKER_14: I didn't change, you know, I hadn't changed it.
18:42
SPEAKER_05: You didn't change it, yeah, yeah.
18:43
SPEAKER_14: I hadn't changed it out.
18:44
SPEAKER_14: So I was like, oh man, this sucks.
18:46
SPEAKER_14: So I kept playing with it.
18:48
SPEAKER_14: It's it's kind of like Yeah, I was like, oh, it's the Lars snare sound from Sane Anger.
18:54
SPEAKER_14: You know what I mean?
18:55
SPEAKER_14: So just like I played it off, but uh yeah, I had to go see Chris anyway yesterday and get a new head.
19:01
SPEAKER_14: Right.
19:01
SPEAKER_14: But I suggested that we put the horns on that stage and then everybody else set up front.
19:06
SPEAKER_05: On the ground?
19:07
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
19:08
SPEAKER_14: Or they they might get those, remember those risers that we had in the in the tent?
19:13
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
19:13
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
19:14
SPEAKER_14: Might have those.
19:15
SPEAKER_14: I don't know why you wouldn't get the tent.
19:16
SPEAKER_05: The tent was great.
19:17
SPEAKER_14: Tent was awesome.
19:18
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
19:18
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, but you know, whatever.
19:20
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that stage.
19:21
SPEAKER_14: I mean, that stage is good for like a regular size band.
19:24
SPEAKER_05: Yes, not for 20 people.
19:26
SPEAKER_14: No, it's just it just doesn't work.
19:27
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
19:27
SPEAKER_14: So I I actually I was like, you know, let's put the horns up there.
19:31
SPEAKER_14: Rest of us, I I mean, I would love to be down on the ground because I got room to move.
19:38
SPEAKER_14: You know what I mean?
19:39
SPEAKER_14: I hate being on the stage, being crowded, and just be like, Yes, yeah.
19:43
SPEAKER_05: It is a small stage for this band.
19:44
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's for sure.
19:45
SPEAKER_05: That's for sure.
19:46
SPEAKER_05: Um, so I mean we we'll take it as it comes.
19:48
SPEAKER_14: That's what we're Yeah, I mean, we'll you know, we'll deal with it, whatever.
19:51
SPEAKER_14: I mean, just when we get there, I mean it'd be better than a stage we had in Oakfield, but it was uh what was the pallets?
19:57
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
19:58
SPEAKER_14: We had to get power from the woods.
19:59
SPEAKER_14: Yes.
20:00
SPEAKER_05: So I forgot about that one.
20:03
SPEAKER_14: That was fun though.
20:06
SPEAKER_05: Um and so yes, and the other thing about uh this coming uh weekends gig is we have no Anthony.
20:12
SPEAKER_05: Our lead singer is not able to make it because he's got a function somewhere else that he can't get out of and he feels really bad about it.
20:20
SPEAKER_05: But that just means you and Melissa are doing double duty.
20:24
SPEAKER_05: I've got a few songs I'm singing, but you and Melissa are have you seen the set list yet?
20:28
SPEAKER_03: No.
20:28
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's you and Melissa.
20:30
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
20:31
SPEAKER_05: Um Mark is doing a few.
20:33
SPEAKER_05: I think Joel might do one or two.
20:35
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
20:35
SPEAKER_05: And I'm doing I think there's four, four songs.
20:39
SPEAKER_05: But other than that, it's you and Melissa.
20:41
SPEAKER_14: That's fine.
20:41
SPEAKER_05: So yeah.
20:42
SPEAKER_05: We have a good time.
20:43
unknown: Yeah.
20:43
SPEAKER_05: Uh and we we'll make it work.
20:44
SPEAKER_05: We usually do.
20:45
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
20:45
SPEAKER_14: It'll be fine.
20:46
SPEAKER_05: It'll be fine.
20:48
SPEAKER_05: Um you might want to look at the list though, because um I think there might be some some uh some songs on there that uh we haven't because you know uh uh Joel made the list.
21:00
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
21:01
SPEAKER_05: So that just means um it's gonna rock.
21:06
SPEAKER_05: And that and or roll.
21:09
SPEAKER_05: And or roll right here.
21:11
SPEAKER_05: So let's see.
21:20
SPEAKER_05: It opens with you.
21:22
SPEAKER_05: Um say war pigs?
21:25
SPEAKER_05: No.
21:28
SPEAKER_14: That'd be funny when they open it a show with.
21:31
SPEAKER_05: Uh let's see.
21:32
SPEAKER_05: Nothing out of the ordinary.
21:33
SPEAKER_05: Melissa's doing a lot.
21:34
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
21:34
SPEAKER_14: She usually does when Anthony's out there.
21:37
SPEAKER_05: Nothing out of the ordinary for you yet.
21:40
SPEAKER_05: Uh Livin La Vida Loca.
21:43
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
21:44
SPEAKER_05: Uh yeah.
21:46
SPEAKER_05: Uh no, I guess there's nothing really out of the ordinary for you.
21:53
SPEAKER_05: Um I am singing, but it's alright, which I always do.
21:58
SPEAKER_16: Yeah.
21:59
SPEAKER_05: Um I he's got me singing Saturday in the park.
22:03
SPEAKER_05: So that'll be interesting.
22:04
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
22:04
SPEAKER_14: Um But you do that other Chicago.
22:07
SPEAKER_05: Yep.
22:08
SPEAKER_05: Yep.
22:08
SPEAKER_05: Uh he's got me singing Freeze Frame.
22:10
SPEAKER_05: You do that anyway.
22:11
SPEAKER_05: And the uh no, he does.
22:12
SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah, that's right.
22:13
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Anthony does.
22:15
SPEAKER_05: Um and I think that's it for me.
22:17
SPEAKER_05: Besides the the other Chicago one.
22:19
SPEAKER_05: Right.
22:20
SPEAKER_05: Um so yeah.
22:22
SPEAKER_05: Melissa's doing the the the lion's share, which is fine.
22:25
SPEAKER_05: She's good.
22:26
SPEAKER_05: She's awesome.
22:27
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
22:27
SPEAKER_14: Um I'd rather her do most of them than me, so.
22:32
SPEAKER_05: Um I don't know.
22:36
SPEAKER_14: She's better at it.
22:39
SPEAKER_05: Well, I think we're I think we're awesome.
22:42
SPEAKER_05: I think we're a great band, and I think we're we're not biased or anything.
22:45
SPEAKER_05: No.
22:47
SPEAKER_05: We're great and we know it.
22:48
SPEAKER_05: Well, here's the thing, we just have a ball.
22:50
SPEAKER_14: And that's all no, you had the ball last week.
22:59
SPEAKER_05: Thank you.
23:01
SPEAKER_05: Uh speaking of having the ball, I got a Freebird razor.
23:05
SPEAKER_05: Have you ever seen those?
23:07
SPEAKER_14: Oh, is that like the little like head shaver?
23:10
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
23:10
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
23:10
SPEAKER_05: I got I got the the kit.
23:12
SPEAKER_05: Wow.
23:13
SPEAKER_05: Which I can, you know.
23:15
SPEAKER_14: Oh, yeah.
23:16
SPEAKER_14: No, don't do no, no, no, no.
23:18
SPEAKER_14: That's just not natural.
23:20
SPEAKER_05: And uh it does the okay.
23:23
SPEAKER_14: Well that I mean I can see that.
23:24
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yeah.
23:25
SPEAKER_14: Because that gets that it gets annoying.
23:26
SPEAKER_05: It works it works pretty well.
23:27
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I was gonna say though.
23:29
SPEAKER_05: And it goes in the uh I can keep it in the shower.
23:30
SPEAKER_05: It's waterproof.
23:31
SPEAKER_05: Oh.
23:31
SPEAKER_05: So it's pretty cool.
23:32
SPEAKER_05: Beautiful.
23:33
SPEAKER_05: Anyway, uh I just went off on a tangent there, sorry.
23:36
SPEAKER_05: Uh let's see.
23:37
SPEAKER_05: Hair cutting tips.
23:38
SPEAKER_05: Haircutting tips.
23:39
SPEAKER_05: What else about the gig?
23:40
SPEAKER_05: Anything?
23:40
SPEAKER_05: Um It's Friday.
23:42
SPEAKER_05: It is this Friday, the 17th.
23:44
SPEAKER_05: We're not sure what time.
23:45
SPEAKER_05: Yes, we are.
23:46
SPEAKER_14: Is that finalized or is that still like up in the air?
23:50
SPEAKER_05: Um let's see.
23:54
SPEAKER_05: I think.
23:57
SPEAKER_14: Uh-huh.
23:58
SPEAKER_05: Because there was some debate about the time.
24:01
SPEAKER_05: We are playing until 10.30.
24:03
SPEAKER_14: Oh, 10.30 now.
24:04
SPEAKER_05: Yes.
24:04
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
24:05
SPEAKER_05: What was it originally?
24:07
SPEAKER_14: Oh I think it was like 8.30 to the same.
24:09
SPEAKER_05: Originally scheduled us to perform at 7.30 and the usual parking lot stage was about 20% too small for us.
24:13
SPEAKER_05: They also have a new opening plan playing on the same stage.
24:16
SPEAKER_05: I didn't read this.
24:18
SPEAKER_05: I didn't read this.
24:19
SPEAKER_05: Uh playing on the same stage from 5 to 7.
24:23
SPEAKER_05: And they printed in their official flyer that we start playing at 8.
24:26
SPEAKER_05: Uh that we're starting at 8.
24:28
SPEAKER_05: But I wouldn't be surprised if we have a crowd by 7.30.
24:32
SPEAKER_05: They put someone else on the stage?
24:34
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's the opening.
24:36
SPEAKER_05: So we have an hour to set up, basically.
24:39
SPEAKER_05: Is that what is that what?
24:44
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
24:46
SPEAKER_05: Do you know the band that's that's playing before?
24:48
SPEAKER_05: It's Trish King.
24:49
SPEAKER_05: Oh, okay.
24:50
SPEAKER_05: Oh, she may be acoustic.
24:51
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I don't think it's a band band.
24:53
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, yeah.
24:53
SPEAKER_05: I think it's just acoustic and just doing her thing.
24:56
SPEAKER_05: She's good.
24:56
SPEAKER_05: She plays down at uh down under Yeah, yeah, she's good.
24:59
SPEAKER_05: She's really good.
24:59
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
25:00
SPEAKER_05: Um so that yeah, that shouldn't be too bad.
25:03
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
25:04
SPEAKER_14: I think we can set up while she's playing and or like not like set up in front of her, be like, yeah.
25:08
SPEAKER_14: Hey, could you move?
25:09
SPEAKER_14: Right.
25:10
SPEAKER_14: I'm gonna put a microphone in the room.
25:11
SPEAKER_14: If we showed up, but if we show up and get their equipment, then we can just bring it out, get set up, and go when she's done.
25:17
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
25:17
SPEAKER_14: So I think that's what he was talking about.
25:21
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
25:21
SPEAKER_05: I I guess I should read these emails.
25:23
SPEAKER_05: I just look, oh, set list is here.
25:24
SPEAKER_05: And I look at this set list.
25:27
SPEAKER_05: Uh five o'clock.
25:29
SPEAKER_05: Okay, cool.
25:30
SPEAKER_05: Uh, but I'm excited because uh I ha I haven't played a syndicate show yet.
25:34
SPEAKER_05: Oh no, we played Mapleton.
25:35
SPEAKER_05: Um but that's a weird one.
25:37
SPEAKER_05: We were there.
25:38
SPEAKER_05: That was a weird one.
25:39
SPEAKER_14: It was rainy and we were in a clamshell.
25:41
SPEAKER_14: It's supposed to be nice Friday.
25:42
SPEAKER_05: Knock on something.
25:43
SPEAKER_14: Well, as long as the smoke goes away.
25:45
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
25:46
SPEAKER_05: Jeez.
25:46
SPEAKER_05: Um, let's see, what else?
25:49
SPEAKER_05: Anything else?
25:50
SPEAKER_14: I got nothing.
25:51
SPEAKER_05: I got nothing.
25:52
SPEAKER_05: Uh I want to say, so you're going to ATLC next week.
25:58
SPEAKER_05: And then let's see.
25:59
SPEAKER_05: So we should have a podcast.
26:02
SPEAKER_05: Um, you know what else I'm doing next week?
26:06
SPEAKER_05: Toto.
26:06
SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah, that's right.
26:07
SPEAKER_05: You want to see Toto?
26:08
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
26:09
SPEAKER_05: Oh, oh, you know what?
26:11
SPEAKER_05: It may be two, it may be three weeks.
26:14
SPEAKER_05: I just thought of this.
26:15
SPEAKER_05: Because I was looking at my schedule my calendar actually.
26:19
SPEAKER_05: Um we got camp.
26:21
SPEAKER_05: Oh, we got uh our family camp.
26:23
SPEAKER_14: Oh, the week after next?
26:25
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, so Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
26:27
SPEAKER_05: And I'm coming back for Thursday because we have that um show in Prescott.
26:31
SPEAKER_05: Syndicate.
26:32
SPEAKER_05: Thursday night, yeah.
26:33
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
26:33
SPEAKER_14: Oh, we got one the Saturday before, too, 25th.
26:37
SPEAKER_05: Yes, that I'll be there for that.
26:39
SPEAKER_14: Skinny Haystack Track.
26:40
SPEAKER_05: Yep, yep.
26:41
SPEAKER_05: Um Yeah, so we talked about that a little bit.
26:43
SPEAKER_05: Our our little country band, our little nineties country band, we had a rehearsal and it's coming together slowly but surely.
26:50
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
26:50
SPEAKER_05: Um I'm not gonna tell you where our gig is.
26:53
SPEAKER_14: No, because we don't want anybody to come.
26:54
SPEAKER_05: On on July 25th, but we are playing uh somewhere in Arusta County on July twenty.
26:59
SPEAKER_14: Quote unquote playing.
27:00
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
27:01
SPEAKER_05: Um it's it's a soft opening, if you will.
27:03
SPEAKER_14: Yes.
27:04
SPEAKER_05: And uh we'll s we'll kind of uh r kick the tires and and see how it goes.
27:08
SPEAKER_14: Take it for a test run.
27:09
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
27:10
SPEAKER_14: See what see what uh what the reaction is.
27:12
SPEAKER_14: See what goes, and then uh be ready for August.
27:17
SPEAKER_05: And then so so the week after that, Monday the 27th, uh through Wednesday the 29th, I will be away.
27:23
SPEAKER_14: Okay, so we're we're gonna be off for two weeks.
27:25
SPEAKER_05: We're gonna be off for Jeff, you're gonna be okay?
27:27
SPEAKER_14: You'd be okay.
27:29
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we'll we will be off for two weeks um after after this podcast.
27:34
SPEAKER_14: So you'll have to wait for episode 300 for well, I mean, you know, I I I mean, probably other podcasts will be like, oh my god, we're gonna I'll be like but we're pretty prolific as far as putting out episodes.
27:47
SPEAKER_14: Week after week of I mean if we miss a if we miss two weeks in a row, that's unusual.
27:51
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
27:52
SPEAKER_14: Even if we make it miss a week is unusual.
27:54
SPEAKER_14: Yep, yep.
27:55
SPEAKER_14: I mean, usually we take Thanksgiving off, or no, not even Thanksgiving.
27:58
SPEAKER_06: Nope.
27:58
SPEAKER_14: But we take the week of Christmas off.
28:00
SPEAKER_06: We do.
28:00
SPEAKER_14: That's basically it.
28:01
SPEAKER_14: Yeah except when I have to go to camp and go to camp.
28:04
SPEAKER_14: So yeah.
28:05
SPEAKER_14: Just happens to be the week uh, you know, mine is the first week, yours is the second week.
28:09
SPEAKER_05: So yeah, no, I'm not uh I don't think people are gonna lose sleep about it.
28:12
SPEAKER_14: No, they're gonna be like, thank god, I don't have to listen to those two morons.
28:15
SPEAKER_05: Right.
28:16
SPEAKER_05: Um so yeah, so this will be the last episode for a couple of weeks.
28:19
SPEAKER_05: Um so we'll make it extra long.
28:21
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
28:23
SPEAKER_14: Sure.
28:24
SPEAKER_14: I'm gonna read from a book.
28:28
SPEAKER_14: All right.
28:29
SPEAKER_14: Do you have a book?
28:31
SPEAKER_05: I have several books.
28:33
SPEAKER_16: It's true, you do.
28:33
SPEAKER_16: I do.
28:34
SPEAKER_05: Uh I got I've got uh this book right here.
28:37
SPEAKER_14: Oh, there we go.
28:38
SPEAKER_05: Writing better lyric.
28:39
SPEAKER_14: Well, there we go.
28:40
SPEAKER_14: We'll do a couple chapters out of that and call it good, and maybe we'll write a song with the audience, and then uh you know, four hours later, we'll be done.
28:48
SPEAKER_05: Uh I do want to get to some music news.
28:50
SPEAKER_05: Um music news.
28:52
SPEAKER_05: Found a couple of things on Ultimate Classic Rock uh that seemed interesting to me.
28:56
SPEAKER_05: One because it it's Def Leopard, uh and I'm a big Def Leppard fan.
29:00
SPEAKER_05: Um apparently they are w working on a new album.
29:08
SPEAKER_05: Um in an age where most bands aren't.
29:11
SPEAKER_05: Right.
29:12
SPEAKER_05: Right?
29:12
SPEAKER_05: They're not even they're not even putting out full albums.
29:15
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
29:15
SPEAKER_05: Uh they're doing singles because it's all streaming.
29:18
SPEAKER_05: Um but Joe Elliott, lead singer of Def Leopard, says that some of the uh the fans will be shocked.
29:25
SPEAKER_05: Of course, this is all clickbait as well.
29:27
SPEAKER_05: Of course it is.
29:28
SPEAKER_05: They'll be shocked by the material on the upcoming 13th studio album.
29:33
SPEAKER_05: Uh Diamond Star Halo's was the one before this, and that was actually really good album.
29:38
SPEAKER_05: That was that was good.
29:39
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
29:39
SPEAKER_05: Uh there were probably, I don't know.
29:41
SPEAKER_14: But I mean, the only way they're gonna shock me is if Rick Allen comes with another little arm.
29:45
SPEAKER_05: So Yeah.
29:47
SPEAKER_05: Uh I mean, you know what to expect.
29:49
SPEAKER_05: It's Diamond Star Halo's was good.
29:51
SPEAKER_05: I would have left about four songs off of it.
29:53
SPEAKER_05: And I think we talked about that one time.
29:56
SPEAKER_05: Um they had a single back in February called Rejoice, which wasn't really that great.
30:02
SPEAKER_05: It was okay.
30:03
SPEAKER_05: Um is that gonna be on the new album?
30:05
SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
30:06
SPEAKER_05: Let's see.
30:06
SPEAKER_05: Uh there's uh the delay between the single and its associated full-length record.
30:10
SPEAKER_05: So yes, it will be on the new album.
30:12
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
30:13
SPEAKER_05: Uh I said we released it in time for the Vegas residency.
30:15
SPEAKER_05: We did a Vegas residency in February, and we wanted to play a new song, so it made sense to actually put it out.
30:20
SPEAKER_05: The album won't be out until early 27, because we're still recording it.
30:24
SPEAKER_05: We're actually recording parts of it in Vegas on days off.
30:28
SPEAKER_05: We would go down into the basement of the casino and set it up as a studio, so we're still actively recording now and mixing.
30:35
SPEAKER_05: Uh he said they have about 18 songs, although not all of them would make the final record.
30:40
SPEAKER_05: Uh we've kind of got nearly nearly two albums.
30:44
SPEAKER_05: We're going to pick and choose which ten or eleven we think are the right ones.
30:47
SPEAKER_05: We've got some great songs, very varied.
30:49
SPEAKER_05: He says, I'll tell you this much, we've written the fastest song we've ever done.
30:54
SPEAKER_05: And we've also written the most ridiculously over-the-top, pretentious, massive big kind of song.
30:59
SPEAKER_14: Like fastest is in beats per minute, or like No, not I think yeah.
31:06
SPEAKER_05: Not not like the fastest they've ever written.
31:08
SPEAKER_14: Okay.
31:08
SPEAKER_05: I think it's like fast.
31:09
SPEAKER_14: Like a like a punk thing.
31:11
SPEAKER_05: I I yeah.
31:12
SPEAKER_05: Uh they've also written the most over-the-top, pretentious, massive, big kind of bombastic song that we've ever written, and uh lots of stuff in between.
31:20
SPEAKER_05: It's very varied, it's very eclectic.
31:22
SPEAKER_05: Uh a lot of people will be shocked because of the direction that we're going in, because it's not one direction, it's ten different directions, and we love being able to do that.
31:30
SPEAKER_05: Uh the album will be finished on time.
31:32
SPEAKER_05: We'll be touring the summer, working on the album.
31:35
SPEAKER_05: We need to get it finished at the end of the summer, the early early release next year.
31:39
SPEAKER_05: So I don't know how I feel about I mean I like I I like them stretching their wings a little bit, you know.
31:46
SPEAKER_05: Um the fastest song they've ever done.
31:49
SPEAKER_05: Wasted was pretty fast.
31:52
SPEAKER_05: Like on their own.
31:52
SPEAKER_14: I'm curious as to the wording of that.
31:54
SPEAKER_14: That's just the fast I mean that could that be that could be taken a couple different ways.
32:01
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
32:01
SPEAKER_14: So I don't know.
32:03
SPEAKER_14: We'll have to wait and see.
32:04
SPEAKER_05: Uh and the most pretentious, bombastic I don't know, pour some sugar on me is pretty pretentious.
32:09
SPEAKER_14: Nah, I mean, pour some sugar on me is just it It's bombastic.
32:14
SPEAKER_14: It's bombastic, but it's not pretentious.
32:15
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that yeah.
32:16
SPEAKER_05: I mean it's that's what I meant to say.
32:17
SPEAKER_14: You know, I was just co-opted by the stripper community.
32:19
SPEAKER_14: I mean, you know, so that's true.
32:21
SPEAKER_05: That's absolutely true.
32:23
SPEAKER_05: Um so I'm looking forward to that.
32:25
SPEAKER_05: Uh early 2027.
32:27
SPEAKER_05: Uh there's a couple other um bands that are coming out with albums in uh 2027 that I'm looking forward to, but I can't remember who they are right now.
32:35
SPEAKER_05: Anyway, uh the other story on Ultimate Classic Rock.com, which I thought was interesting, and I haven't read it yet, but it was the it was the title that got me.
32:44
SPEAKER_05: Long erased Beatles Mentor to get his due on new TV series.
32:50
SPEAKER_05: Now that made me think, A, uh, who is the mentor that was long was erased?
32:57
SPEAKER_05: And B, there's a new Beatles TV series?
33:00
SPEAKER_14: Is it Brian Epstein?
33:02
SPEAKER_05: Well, that would that would be the mentor that I would be I would be thinking of, but he hasn't been erased.
33:06
SPEAKER_05: He hasn't been erased.
33:07
SPEAKER_05: No, no.
33:07
SPEAKER_05: So let's see.
33:07
SPEAKER_05: Let's see what it says.
33:09
SPEAKER_05: A six-part TV drama exploring the Beatles' two-year stint in the German city of Hamburg will reintroduce a forgotten key player in the band's early years.
33:18
SPEAKER_05: Who is it?
33:18
SPEAKER_14: P Best.
33:20
SPEAKER_14: Nope.
33:21
SPEAKER_14: Stuart Sutcliffe.
33:22
SPEAKER_14: Nope.
33:24
SPEAKER_05: Hamburg Days is expected to air via the BBC in 2027 or 2028.
33:29
SPEAKER_05: Filming began in May.
33:31
SPEAKER_05: Uh it follows the period uh 1960 to 62, in which John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe, and Pete Best endured a grueling schedule of over 750 concerts, learning the discipline that led to success.
33:48
SPEAKER_05: Uh let's see.
33:51
SPEAKER_05: In a new interview with The Guardian, Carragher, who is the writer.
33:56
SPEAKER_05: Is he the writer?
33:57
SPEAKER_05: Hold on.
34:00
SPEAKER_05: Uh yes, Jamie Carragher, he's the writer.
34:03
SPEAKER_05: He said he made a point of bringing calypso musician Lord Woodbine back into the Beatles story.
34:11
SPEAKER_05: Ever heard of Lord Woodbine?
34:12
SPEAKER_05: You're a Beatles freak, and you've read everything about the Beatles.
34:15
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
34:16
SPEAKER_05: Have you ever heard of Lord Woodbine?
34:17
SPEAKER_05: No.
34:18
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
34:19
SPEAKER_14: This is interesting.
34:20
SPEAKER_05: McCartney and Lennon respected him in a musical sense.
34:23
SPEAKER_05: There weren't many people in their lives at this point who wrote their own songs, and Lord Woodbine did that via the Calypso tradition.
34:30
SPEAKER_05: One of Lennon's earliest songs was titled Calypso Rock.
34:34
SPEAKER_05: Trinidad born Woodbine, real name Harold Adolphus Phillips, came to Liverpool during the Second World War with the Royal Air Force.
34:42
SPEAKER_05: He later ran the city's famed Jacaranda Club and became the Beatles' co-manager, along with friend and business partner Alan Williams.
34:51
SPEAKER_05: Do you recognize that name?
34:52
SPEAKER_14: I do.
34:53
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
34:53
SPEAKER_05: Why have they never talked about this Lord Woodbine?
34:56
SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
34:57
SPEAKER_05: Academic and author Malik Al-Nasir told The Guardian that Lennon and McCartney used to come and offer to clean and collect glasses for Woodblot Woodbine.
35:06
SPEAKER_05: In return, he would feed them and help them out by teaching them chords.
35:10
SPEAKER_05: Uh let's see, he said, I don't even know if Woodbine even had a contract with the Beatles, but he certainly picked them up when no one else cared.
35:18
SPEAKER_05: He took them to Hamburg, a place that nobody else really thought about.
35:21
SPEAKER_05: He died in a house fire in 2000 at 72 years old.
35:25
SPEAKER_05: By then he'd spoken about having been effectively written out of the Fab Force history, outshone by Epstein's contribution to their success.
35:32
SPEAKER_05: In 92, he saw a photo from the Hamburg era at a promotional event, but he'd been removed from the image.
35:38
SPEAKER_05: He said, When I saw that, it hurt me.
35:40
SPEAKER_05: That was the end of the Beatles' memory and me.
35:43
SPEAKER_05: So let's see, in the photo below, Woodbine can be seen third from left.
35:48
SPEAKER_06: Right here.
35:49
SPEAKER_05: Along with Allian Alan Williams, Barry Williams, Stu Suckliff, Pal McCartney, George Harrison, and Pete Best.
35:54
SPEAKER_05: John Lennon is not in the photo.
35:55
SPEAKER_05: So that's a that's Woodbine right there, Lord Wood Woodbine.
36:00
SPEAKER_05: So that'll be interesting to see, I think.
36:03
SPEAKER_05: Um Hamburg Days on the BBC.
36:07
SPEAKER_05: I'd watch that.
36:09
SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah.
36:09
SPEAKER_05: I don't know who the actors are that are playing.
36:12
SPEAKER_05: It has them.
36:13
SPEAKER_05: Reese Mannion plays John Lennon.
36:15
SPEAKER_05: Ellis Murphy plays Paul McCartney.
36:17
SPEAKER_05: Harvey Brett plays George Harrison.
36:20
SPEAKER_14: Whatever happened to that biopic that they were working on.
36:23
SPEAKER_14: Are they still working?
36:24
SPEAKER_05: I think they must be still working on it.
36:25
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
36:25
SPEAKER_05: Because I haven't heard anything about it.
36:26
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I was about to say, that seems to have gone by the wayside.
36:29
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
36:30
SPEAKER_05: Maybe it's turned into this?
36:32
SPEAKER_05: I don't think so, but it's possible.
36:34
SPEAKER_14: Well, anything's possible.
36:35
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it's possible.
36:37
SPEAKER_05: Interesting.
36:38
SPEAKER_05: Very interesting.
36:40
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I mean, I've read tons of books on the Beatles.
36:44
SPEAKER_05: You've never heard of Lord Woodbody.
36:45
SPEAKER_14: I don't believe so.
36:46
SPEAKER_14: I mean, and if I did, it would just kind of like a passing.
36:49
SPEAKER_14: So why do you I mean the Jacaranda Club?
36:51
SPEAKER_14: I mean, uh, they they've talked about that extensively.
36:54
SPEAKER_14: Because they used to hang out.
36:56
SPEAKER_14: That was like their hangout.
36:58
SPEAKER_14: Why do you think they would have left him out?
37:00
SPEAKER_14: I have no idea.
37:02
SPEAKER_14: Maybe my my my suspicion is that he his contribution isn't as great as they're making it out to be.
37:11
SPEAKER_06: Could be.
37:13
SPEAKER_06: Could be.
37:14
SPEAKER_14: Uh I mean, because there's really Brian that, you know, took him under his wing and you know, gave him the, you know, brought taught him the showmanship and blah blah blah and the matching suits and all that.
37:25
SPEAKER_05: I don't know why my my mind goes there.
37:27
SPEAKER_05: Maybe it's because it's 2026.
37:29
SPEAKER_05: But you saw the picture.
37:30
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
37:31
SPEAKER_05: Could it have been a race thing?
37:32
SPEAKER_05: Not with not from their point of view, but from a um societal point of view.
37:40
SPEAKER_05: Maybe they said they scrubbed him out of the photo for crying out loud.
37:45
SPEAKER_14: Well, that's what he says, but ha we haven't seen that photo.
37:49
SPEAKER_05: True.
37:50
SPEAKER_05: True.
37:50
SPEAKER_05: Yep.
37:50
SPEAKER_14: You know what I mean?
37:51
SPEAKER_05: He says he saw the photo.
37:53
SPEAKER_14: He said it was back in 92.
37:54
SPEAKER_14: We didn't have that technology back then.
37:56
SPEAKER_05: And not only that, not only that, but how many pictures did they take that day?
38:01
unknown: Right?
38:01
SPEAKER_05: I'm sure there's a ton of them.
38:02
SPEAKER_05: Right.
38:03
SPEAKER_14: So so he could have been Because this was the day of uh the German kids there that was following like Astrid.
38:09
SPEAKER_14: Right, yeah, yeah.
38:10
SPEAKER_14: That ended up ending up with uh Stuart.
38:12
SPEAKER_14: Great movie, by the way.
38:13
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, that was it.
38:14
SPEAKER_14: Backbeat.
38:14
SPEAKER_14: Backbeat, yeah.
38:15
SPEAKER_14: Great movie.
38:16
SPEAKER_14: Talks all about that.
38:17
SPEAKER_14: I mean, she took all their famous photos in f in Hamburg.
38:20
SPEAKER_05: So how how do we know that he it was they took the photo and then he got up and walked off?
38:25
SPEAKER_14: And there was another photo.
38:26
SPEAKER_14: There was another photo.
38:27
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
38:28
SPEAKER_14: That was the one.
38:28
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
38:29
SPEAKER_05: That's entirely possible.
38:30
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I don't I j I I I I have a feeling something not sinister, but something like, well, we should talk about this.
38:38
SPEAKER_14: Just I don't know if this is a money grab.
38:41
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
38:42
SPEAKER_14: You know, just because we're attaching the Beatles to it and we want to make some quick cash or whatever.
38:49
SPEAKER_05: Well he's he's dead.
38:50
SPEAKER_05: Lord would buy some.
38:51
SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah, yeah.
38:52
SPEAKER_14: He's not gonna make any money.
38:53
SPEAKER_14: Maybe his family.
38:54
SPEAKER_14: I could be.
38:54
SPEAKER_14: I don't know.
38:55
SPEAKER_14: Yep, could be.
38:55
SPEAKER_14: Or it's just you know, it's just like I said, it's just a way to make more money off the Beatles.
39:00
SPEAKER_06: Could be.
39:01
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
39:01
SPEAKER_14: I don't know.
39:02
SPEAKER_14: Because I mean, I haven't heard Paul or Ringo say anything about this.
39:06
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, me either.
39:07
SPEAKER_14: I mean, nothing.
39:07
SPEAKER_14: Zero.
39:08
SPEAKER_14: Yep.
39:09
SPEAKER_05: So Yeah, it didn't say whether they had the Beatles blessing for this TV scene.
39:14
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I mean, it just sounds like, you know, this sounds like a BBC thing.
39:17
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
39:17

55:30
SPEAKER_14: That's what it was.
55:31
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, play a song from that mixtape.

55:41
SPEAKER_14: There you go.
55:42
SPEAKER_14: Also seems a pretty good fit.
55:43
SPEAKER_14: But I think I will go with Sugar by Maroon 5, because my wife loves that song, and it seems like input from a wooden woman would be helpful with this question.
55:53
SPEAKER_14: Honorable mention to Beyoncé's single ladies because SNL skit with her, Justin Timberlake, Andy Sandberg, and Bobby Moynihan is frickin' hilarious.
56:03
SPEAKER_05: So somebody still watches SNL.
56:06
SPEAKER_14: That's good.

SPEAKER_05: There might have even been another one.
57:25
SPEAKER_05: But Maroon 5 uh opened and they rocked.

57:32
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
57:32
SPEAKER_05: You know, they it was a they were a rock band.

SPEAKER_05: Alright, so maybe I can I don't know if I can keep that playing in the background while I do this.
1:11:34
SPEAKER_05: So I'm gonna hear from well uh let's do Larry first.
1:11:37
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
1:11:38
SPEAKER_05: Okay, so Larry says, Cousin Larry says, um, Smash or Trash, very best with Robert Palmer.
1:11:44
SPEAKER_05: Since I myself own this one, I have to vote Smash.
1:11:49
SPEAKER_05: It's an excellent listen from start to finish.
1:11:53
SPEAKER_05: So can I debut the Yes?
1:11:56
SPEAKER_05: I can.
1:11:57
SPEAKER_14: Uh or are we gonna do it like when we vote the final?
1:12:00
SPEAKER_14: Well, I do we have to?
1:12:02
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
1:12:02
SPEAKER_14: Because I really want to hear the truth.
1:12:03
SPEAKER_14: I have a feeling it's gonna go that way.
1:12:05
SPEAKER_05: I don't I don't.
1:12:08
SPEAKER_05: Um I'm gonna st I'm gonna stop this.
1:12:11
SPEAKER_05: So uh I I am gonna play it real quick.
1:12:14
SPEAKER_05: Uh uh because uh cousin Larry votes Smash.
1:12:22
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
1:12:24
SPEAKER_05: Um let's see.
1:12:27
SPEAKER_05: Chris Morton.
1:12:28
SPEAKER_05: I vote trash on the best of Robert Palmer album because if you ever get the urge to listen to either Addicted to Love or Simply Irresistible, you don't need the CD.
1:12:38
SPEAKER_05: Just tune your radio to 96.1 and wait approximately 17 to 22 minutes.
1:12:45
SPEAKER_05: He's not wrong.
1:12:46
SPEAKER_05: No, no, he's not wrong.
1:12:47
SPEAKER_05: So uh Chris votes Try Got it.
1:12:51
SPEAKER_05: So one.
1:12:53
SPEAKER_05: One one.
1:12:53
SPEAKER_05: Uh bouncing Bob.
1:12:56
SPEAKER_05: Uh the very best of Robert Palmer.
1:12:58
SPEAKER_05: I think Robert Palmer was a showman, not a music artist.
1:13:02
SPEAKER_05: He used the excesses of the eighties to make a boatload of money.
1:13:06
SPEAKER_05: His two biggest claims to fame, simply irresistible and addicted to love, were shocking with the heavily made-up and jiggly models.
1:13:13
SPEAKER_05: A showman who joined the power station in another money grab, he left the band while on tour.
1:13:18
SPEAKER_05: A relic from the 80s.
1:13:19
SPEAKER_05: I do not want to hear his covers like Some Guys of All the Luck, Mercy Mercy Me, or any of his songs.
1:13:27
SPEAKER_05: So Bouncing Bob oats.
1:13:32
SPEAKER_05: That's two trash and one smash so far.
1:13:36
SPEAKER_05: What what did the judge?
1:13:38
SPEAKER_14: What did the judge say?
1:13:41
SPEAKER_14: Somebody else.
1:13:53
SPEAKER_14: Personally, I enjoy a fair amount of those songs, so I would say So her judges.
1:14:01
SPEAKER_05: Smash, so we're tied.
1:14:04
SPEAKER_14: We're tied.
1:14:04
SPEAKER_02: Yes.
1:14:05
SPEAKER_05: Alright, so uh I guess it's just uh you and I get to vote.
1:14:10
SPEAKER_14: Right?
1:14:11
SPEAKER_14: What about Bob?
1:14:13
SPEAKER_14: The other Bob or Bob.
1:14:14
SPEAKER_14: He hasn't voted.
1:14:15
SPEAKER_05: I don't I don't think so.
1:14:16
SPEAKER_14: I guess he doesn't get a vote then.
1:14:17
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I didn't.
1:14:18
SPEAKER_14: Oh, uh Carriani.
1:14:18
SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah, Carriani, yeah.
1:14:20
SPEAKER_14: I was about to say there's gotta be an odd number.
1:14:21
SPEAKER_05: There is.
1:14:22
SPEAKER_05: Uh let's see.
1:14:24
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
1:14:25
SPEAKER_05: So Carriani.
1:14:27
SPEAKER_05: Uh I vote uh trash on the best of Robert Palmer album because if you ever get- Oh no, that's Chris Morton.
1:14:35
SPEAKER_05: Hold on.
1:14:35
SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
1:14:36
SPEAKER_05: I already read that one.
1:14:38
SPEAKER_05: This is the one I'm looking for right here.
1:14:40
SPEAKER_05: Oh, here we go.
1:14:42
SPEAKER_05: Uh Carriani.
1:14:44
SPEAKER_05: You gotta keep Robert Palmer.
1:14:46
SPEAKER_05: Just hearing the songs, I was like, no blank.
1:14:49
SPEAKER_05: Sorry, Lanter Children.
1:14:50
SPEAKER_05: He he wrote that.
1:14:53
SPEAKER_05: I remember hearing a lot of those songs at the skating rink on the weekends.
1:14:57
SPEAKER_05: So Kariani is Smash.
1:15:01
SPEAKER_14: Smash.
1:15:01
SPEAKER_05: So are we tied again?
1:15:03
SPEAKER_14: No, we're actually Smash is ahead now.
1:15:05
SPEAKER_14: Smash is ahead.
1:15:05
SPEAKER_14: We were we were tied.
1:15:07
SPEAKER_05: And now Smash is ahead.
1:15:08
SPEAKER_05: Now Smash is ahead.
1:15:09
SPEAKER_05: Okay, so what is your vote?
1:15:11
SPEAKER_14: My vote is Smash, because I I like Robert Palmer.
1:15:15
SPEAKER_05: Your vote is Smash.
1:15:18
SPEAKER_14: I like those songs.
1:15:19
SPEAKER_14: And I especially I'm a big fan of Power Station, so Well, you know.
1:15:23
SPEAKER_05: Here's the thing.
1:15:24
SPEAKER_05: Uh I am also a fan.
1:15:27
SPEAKER_05: Um it's not gonna matter what I vote, right?
1:15:34
SPEAKER_05: Nope.
1:15:34
SPEAKER_05: Um, because I'm voting trash.
1:15:36
SPEAKER_05: Trash! Um which still means Smash wins.
1:15:40
SPEAKER_14: Yeah, because you gotta keep it.
1:15:41
SPEAKER_05: We're keeping it.
1:15:42
SPEAKER_05: So we're gonna put that right next to Sting.
1:15:45
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
1:15:46
SPEAKER_05: There.
1:15:46
SPEAKER_05: That uh that's fair and square.
1:15:48
SPEAKER_05: Alright.
1:15:48
SPEAKER_05: So that's the way the game is done.
1:15:50
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
1:15:50
SPEAKER_05: So now we pick a new one for uh two uh two or three weeks from now, whenever it happens to be.
1:16:01
SPEAKER_05: Um and the album that I have chosen is uh we actually I think we did this on the um we did this on on the Oh Wall of Tunes recently.
1:16:15
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
1:16:16
SPEAKER_05: So this is Simply Red's greatest hits.
1:16:21
SPEAKER_05: Uh I love Simply Red.
1:16:24
SPEAKER_05: I love the blue-eyed soul stuff, you know.
1:16:33
SPEAKER_09: You will never never never know me.
1:16:50
SPEAKER_05: This is this is you'll recognize this in a second because the intro they don't usually play on the radio.
1:16:55
SPEAKER_05: There's a radio edit.
1:16:57
SPEAKER_05: It's a good song.
1:16:57
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it is a great song.
1:17:16
SPEAKER_05: Thinking of the fear I've had so long when somebody I'll keep holding on.
1:17:30
SPEAKER_05: Remember that part?
1:17:30
SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
1:17:31
SPEAKER_05: Uh stars.
1:17:34
SPEAKER_05: This is a great song.
1:17:52
SPEAKER_09: Anyone whoever helps you tell you the way I'm feeling.
1:18:01
SPEAKER_09: Anyone whoever wants try to tell you what I'm feeling.
1:18:09
SPEAKER_05: I want to play to the chorus, but I also don't want to waste too much time.
1:18:13
SPEAKER_05: So that's a great song called Stars.
1:18:15
SPEAKER_05: This is something got me started.
1:18:17
SPEAKER_05: You probably recognize this one.
1:18:24
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
1:18:30
SPEAKER_05: Anyway, so those are the biggest hits from this uh greatest hits compilation.
1:18:36
SPEAKER_05: There's one called For Your Babies, you may have heard that.
1:18:39
SPEAKER_05: Um Money's Too Tight to Mention.
1:18:42
SPEAKER_05: That's a good song.
1:18:42
SPEAKER_05: It is a good song.
1:18:43
SPEAKER_05: Um anyway, that is what's up for discussion for next week.
1:18:49
SPEAKER_05: Or or next three weeks.
1:18:50
SPEAKER_05: Three weeks.
1:18:51
SPEAKER_05: Simply Red's Greatest Hits.
1:18:53
SPEAKER_05: And in Simply Red, essentially, I mean it's a band, but it's Mick Hucknell.
1:18:59
SPEAKER_05: He's the face of the band.
1:19:01
SPEAKER_14: Well, apparently, because he's the only one on the album.
1:19:03
SPEAKER_14: Exactly.
1:19:04
SPEAKER_14: Well, I mean, as far as pictures are you.
1:19:07
SPEAKER_14: It's like he's on the front cover and he's on the back cover.
1:19:10
SPEAKER_14: Right.
1:19:10
SPEAKER_14: You know.
1:19:12
SPEAKER_05: Have everybody else.
1:19:13
SPEAKER_05: Alright, so tell me what you think.
1:19:14
SPEAKER_05: Are we smashing that or are we trashing that?
1:19:18
SPEAKER_05: Well, uh, I look forward to your responses.
1:19:22
SPEAKER_05: Um Yeah.
1:19:24
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
