- 0:01Speaker 1: Hey, what are boxing fans? This is the Rope of
- 0:04Speaker 1: Dove Radio podcast. I'm your host, Chris Carlson. We are
- 0:08Speaker 1: live on a Wednesday afternoon. I hope everybody's doing okay.
- 0:13Speaker 1: We will talk about some action that happened last weekend. Obviously,
- 0:20Speaker 1: Richardson Hitchens leads the way with a very easy victory,
- 0:26Speaker 1: looking really good, especially that jab against cambosas Andy Cruz
- 0:33Speaker 1: will talk a little bit about briefly talk about some
- 0:41Speaker 1: guys that are past their prime, one Francisco Estrada and
- 0:45Speaker 1: especially no need to don'nare, So we won't spend a
- 0:48Speaker 1: whole lot of time with that. And also I got
- 0:51Speaker 1: a message from someone that brought up a good point
- 0:56Speaker 1: about I guess you could say an air I made
- 1:01Speaker 1: when not covering a certain fighter. So we will discuss
- 1:06Speaker 1: that as well this week and weekend, because you know tomorrow,
- 1:11Speaker 1: well I suppose it's gonna be pretty early in the morning.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Brian Norman Junior returns on ESPN plus Milanek on Saturday.
- 1:22Speaker 1: You Faia Rodriguez on Saturday. There is some more fights
- 1:27Speaker 1: as well. Nothing stands way out as far as a
- 1:30Speaker 1: big time fight, but I'm guessing that Norman fight will
- 1:35Speaker 1: be pretty entertaining. And then you know, we do have
- 1:40Speaker 1: some current fight news. You know, well, what will Hitchins
- 1:44Speaker 1: and do or Hitchins do next? What will Andy Kruz
- 1:49Speaker 1: do next? Is you know there's a potential title shot.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Would that happen? A little bit more news out of
- 1:58Speaker 1: the David Benevitez camp involving his potentially his next fight.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Oh yeah. And then in a clap back, Oscar de
- 2:11Speaker 1: la Hoya said something about Canelo and Crawford that I
- 2:15Speaker 1: hope he's just bullshitting or got you know, bad information,
- 2:22Speaker 1: or if it's true, that they change it. But if
- 2:25Speaker 1: it's true, it's like what are we doing here? But
- 2:29Speaker 1: I don't know it to be true because it is
- 2:31Speaker 1: coming from you know, Oscar de la Joya, who clearly
- 2:37Speaker 1: you know is mad at the media, mad in general
- 2:45Speaker 1: about them being paid off than in other things. So yeah,
- 2:51Speaker 1: we'll definitely jump into the recap first. If this is
- 2:57Speaker 1: your first time listening to the Ropodo Radio podcast, olcome,

- 3:59Speaker 1: Package that includes over one hundred and sixty channels eighty
- 4:03Speaker 1: nine ninety nine per month. That's Direct TV Stream. That's
- 4:07Speaker 1: for your first I almost almost. I almost mess that up. Okay, So,
- 4:14Speaker 1: like I said, we will get into some of the
- 4:17Speaker 1: stuff going on this weekend, because there there is some action,
- 4:23Speaker 1: no doubt. But we'll start in the Ring on the
- 4:32Speaker 1: card from the Theater in Madison Square Garden. The main
- 4:38Speaker 1: event Hitchens and Cambosa right off the bat, just a
- 4:43Speaker 1: stiff and steady jabs and a couple of nice right
- 4:47Speaker 1: hands from Hitchens. You know, Cambosa's had these little minor
- 4:53Speaker 1: stints of of success if you want to call it that,
- 4:59Speaker 1: like a jab in some body work. But you could
- 5:04Speaker 1: even tell after the second or third round. You could
- 5:06Speaker 1: see camboss was getting touched up. I mean, you could
- 5:11Speaker 1: see the writing on the wall. By the third and
- 5:15Speaker 1: fourth round. He got the jab, you got the pot
- 5:19Speaker 1: shot with the right hand to the head. You know,
- 5:24Speaker 1: Camboss in the third did land some good body shots
- 5:27Speaker 1: and a nice counter right hand to the head in exchange,
- 5:30Speaker 1: but it wasn't anything. I didn't give Cambos's one round,
- 5:35Speaker 1: you know, leg in the fourth round beyond a few
- 5:38Speaker 1: decent lands, Hitchins just landing the cleaner punches. I will
- 5:42Speaker 1: say this. In the fifth round Richardson Hitchins, you know,
- 5:46Speaker 1: in the second half really started landing heavy punches. And
- 5:51Speaker 1: you know, give credit to Camboses for fighting back and whatnot.
- 5:55Speaker 1: But and even in the sixth he was showing life
- 5:58Speaker 1: in spots, but just a better overall shot. The seventh, Yeah,
- 6:03Speaker 1: there was some two way stuff. Like I said, I
- 6:05Speaker 1: want to give King Bosa's credit. He didn't just quit
- 6:07Speaker 1: in there, but you know, he was just getting beat
- 6:14Speaker 1: and then you come to the eighth round, a left
- 6:18Speaker 1: hand to the body drops cam Bosa's. He didn't have
- 6:24Speaker 1: much to say as far as you know it was
- 6:29Speaker 1: a bad stoppage or anything like that. You know, just
- 6:34Speaker 1: a really great performance by Richardson Hitchins. Like like I said,
- 6:39Speaker 1: his jab is one of the better jabs in boxing.
- 6:46Speaker 1: He just he is a very good fighter. You know,
- 6:52Speaker 1: he's got a pretty good defense. Uh you know, once
- 6:56Speaker 1: it gets up close. He used the high guard. He
- 6:59Speaker 1: did kind of step around and just use minor barely
- 7:04Speaker 1: even pivoting, but just minor you know, movement, just to
- 7:09Speaker 1: stay a little bit out of range. But they're to
- 7:12Speaker 1: still deliver a punch. So overall, the fight went pretty
- 7:18Speaker 1: much how I thought it would be. I was wondering
- 7:21Speaker 1: about the stoppage. I didn't think that he would get it,
- 7:25Speaker 1: per se. I was favoring the unanimous decision. Excuse me,
- 7:32Speaker 1: obviously it was well on its way to the United decision.
- 7:36Speaker 1: But you know, beyond like I said, Cambosa is having
- 7:41Speaker 1: a little success here and there and showing some heart
- 7:44Speaker 1: and staying in there when he was taking a fair
- 7:46Speaker 1: amount of punishment, shouts out to him, where does he
- 7:50Speaker 1: go from now? Cambosa's are from here? I don't know,
- 7:53Speaker 1: you know, like he's he's done really well financially. It's
- 8:00Speaker 1: hard to tell a guy who's fought really good talent
- 8:06Speaker 1: and just lost to just hang him up. He still
- 8:10Speaker 1: has he probably still has some fight left in him,
- 8:13Speaker 1: but it's all about what levels he wants to fight at.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I've even seen multiple fighters of late call him out
- 8:23Speaker 1: that were a little like a zine. They're they're they
- 8:27Speaker 1: were younger and that type of thing. And and I
- 8:31Speaker 1: don't know if he wants to be, you know, that
- 8:35Speaker 1: type of gatekeeper. You can make an argument he's already
- 8:37Speaker 1: in gatekeeper mode, but not really based off his competition.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I've seen people say he's a gatekeeper. Maybe he is now,
- 8:45Speaker 1: but I wouldn't, you know, I wouldn't call him a
- 8:49Speaker 1: gatekeeper just yet as far as these last couple of fights,
- 8:52Speaker 1: because you know, he's just not he's not gatekeeping yet.
- 8:57Speaker 1: He's not fighting super young prospers that's trying to prove
- 9:01Speaker 1: himself to become a contender, you know, so and you know,
- 9:10Speaker 1: the further remove, like I said last week, the further
- 9:13Speaker 1: removed we'd get from that tale Femo fight. It just
- 9:19Speaker 1: it was a crazy upset. Clearly Lopez wasn't taking the
- 9:23Speaker 1: fight serious. That's not to take anyway any you know,
- 9:26Speaker 1: any credit away from you know, Gambosa's he did his thing.
- 9:31Speaker 1: It was actually a really fun fight to watch. Tao
- 9:35Speaker 1: just fought in a manner he normally doesn't fight, and
- 9:39Speaker 1: he caught him on a shitty night and not even
- 9:41Speaker 1: a bad night actually just a not a fully focused
- 9:46Speaker 1: tale obviously, but credit to him. He did get the
- 9:49Speaker 1: job done. He fought Hani back to back, fought Maxi Hughes,
- 9:53Speaker 1: which I thought he lost that fight fout Lomachenko. I
- 9:56Speaker 1: guess you could say his last fight. If he were
- 10:00Speaker 1: to stay on that level, it would be a gate
- 10:03Speaker 1: keeper mode. And maybe, like I said, that's where he's
- 10:06Speaker 1: at now. I still think he could fight guys that
- 10:10Speaker 1: are contenders already, that are just trying to get to
- 10:13Speaker 1: that next level. But when you fight you know Teyo, Femo, Haini,
- 10:18Speaker 1: Loma Shanko and now Richard Richardson Hitchins and even Max Hughes,
- 10:23Speaker 1: I just don't say that that's you were a gatekeeper
- 10:25Speaker 1: for all those guys. You know, I just don't agree
- 10:32Speaker 1: with that, but maybe that's what he'll turn into. I mean,
- 10:35Speaker 1: his response when called out by younger fighters was like, hey, man,
- 10:40Speaker 1: go fight somebody, you know where you can prove yourself.
- 10:45Speaker 1: So we'll see, you know, we'll see where he goes.
- 10:49Speaker 1: As far as Hitchens, you know, Teyo Femo and Hani
- 10:53Speaker 1: has been thrown out there. He made it known that
- 10:57Speaker 1: he's a free agent, and Eddie Hern you know, to
- 11:00Speaker 1: take too kind of that, but he I'm not he
- 11:07Speaker 1: kind of I don't know. I'm not saying he backtrack
- 11:10Speaker 1: because he is a free agent, but he did kind
- 11:12Speaker 1: of backtrack. I got some quotes I think from I
- 11:16Speaker 1: think it was the boxing voice that, you know, some
- 11:19Speaker 1: of the things he said. All of a sudden, He's like, well, no,
- 11:22Speaker 1: it's not that I don't you know, it's not that
- 11:25Speaker 1: he doesn't want to stay with Mattroom, but I don't know,
- 11:29Speaker 1: like in the ring, I'm a free agent. You know,
- 11:33Speaker 1: some people were pretty down on that. Obviously Eddie was,
- 11:37Speaker 1: and I get it, like you know, but this is
- 11:40Speaker 1: what he said in the boxing voice. He said Richardson
- 11:43Speaker 1: basically on Eddie hearn the free agency situation. I don't
- 11:47Speaker 1: really want to get into that with me and Eddie.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Eddie gave me opportunity when I needed it. He gave
- 11:52Speaker 1: me the structure when I needed most. Being in talks
- 11:55Speaker 1: now with Devin Haney and the Teo females starting to
- 11:59Speaker 1: now be become a boxing star. I don't think he's
- 12:01Speaker 1: a boxing star, but become one obviously. I want to
- 12:05Speaker 1: continue the relationship with Eddie. I love Eddie. I respect
- 12:08Speaker 1: him as a man. He's always been a gentleman to me.
- 12:12Speaker 1: So he's saying that, But clearly Eddie didn't think it
- 12:18Speaker 1: was too professional or gentleman like to say that he's
- 12:25Speaker 1: a free agent right in the ring. After you know
- 12:28Speaker 1: what Eddie had it helped him out, I had him
- 12:32Speaker 1: on a deal whatever. And I and I get it
- 12:35Speaker 1: from Eddie's perspective to an extent. But we'll see where
- 12:41Speaker 1: he goes. If he of those two fights you know
- 12:45Speaker 1: are available, that'd be great, that would be phenomenal. But
- 12:53Speaker 1: we'll see, you know what I mean, We'll see if
- 12:56Speaker 1: we if we get there, we'll see if those fights
- 12:59Speaker 1: get done. And and like I said, Eddie was pretty
- 13:03Speaker 1: pissed to the point where he's like well, what was
- 13:06Speaker 1: this quote. He's basically like saying, well, he's not going
- 13:09Speaker 1: to do a fighting lessons with me, like Turkey said
- 13:11Speaker 1: he didn't want to do a fighting lessons with me,
- 13:14Speaker 1: which is still kind of like okay, well then you
- 13:17Speaker 1: don't really have any room for like, you know, professionalism
- 13:22Speaker 1: or being mad at that, because now you're going with that,
- 13:28Speaker 1: like there is part of it is just like taking
- 13:32Speaker 1: it out of the chin. Oh well, you know, not
- 13:38Speaker 1: the end of the world type thing. But I don't know,
- 13:42Speaker 1: it just was uh but like I said, Lopez or
- 13:46Speaker 1: Hani would be great for oh, here we go. Oh
- 13:50Speaker 1: he said, I feel disrespected because it's not I. Oh,
- 13:55Speaker 1: I did feel disrespected because it's not him. It's just
- 13:58Speaker 1: the dogs around him. Even though he did say it,
- 14:02Speaker 1: he said he headlined him in Orlando Vegas where we
- 14:06Speaker 1: lost a lot of money. Richardson's a good kid. He's
- 14:09Speaker 1: just got some snakes around him. So he was, like
- 14:14Speaker 1: I said, he was not too happy about that, and
- 14:18Speaker 1: like I said, I get it. But here's a little
- 14:20Speaker 1: bit more Golden boy ceo Oscar de la Jollo. This
- 14:25Speaker 1: is for Ring magazine calls for Richardson Hitchens to discuss
- 14:29Speaker 1: working together. In response to Eddie's Hearn comments to the Ring,
- 14:34Speaker 1: Hearn express disappointment but confirmed Turkey told him he'll only
- 14:39Speaker 1: work with Hitchens if Mattroom is involved. And see, now
- 14:44Speaker 1: I think that's weak too, you know. So if you
- 14:48Speaker 1: can say, oh, well, you know, it probably shouldn't be
- 14:53Speaker 1: this way, or you know, to me to turn right
- 14:56Speaker 1: around and then do that is like, oh, well, fu too,
- 15:03Speaker 1: then you know, I don't know. I thought it was
- 15:05Speaker 1: a little weak. But either way, hopefully Hitchins, who look
- 15:09Speaker 1: damn good against a fighter by the way, he was
- 15:12Speaker 1: supposed to look damn good at but but he's look
- 15:15Speaker 1: really good lately. So the last two fights he's looked
- 15:21Speaker 1: top like on the top level for him, that's for sure.
- 15:24Speaker 1: His jab is really really good. I'd love to see
- 15:27Speaker 1: him in a matchup like that against another skilled, high
- 15:30Speaker 1: level guy. I think it's you know, I'm really really
- 15:33Speaker 1: looking forward to that. If it were to I shouldn't
- 15:36Speaker 1: say looking forward to it, because we don't know exactly
- 15:39Speaker 1: what's gonna come up that so I don't want to
- 15:42Speaker 1: get too happy, you know what I mean. Oops, So
- 15:46Speaker 1: Andy Cruz was winning the fight third round, there was
- 15:58Speaker 1: he basically just started off on and like really you know,
- 16:06Speaker 1: doing his thing, big right hands. I think it was
- 16:16Speaker 1: I think that was that was that was it a
- 16:18Speaker 1: right Yeah, it was the right hands, because the right
- 16:20Speaker 1: hands were actually doing the most punishment. He was hitting
- 16:24Speaker 1: them with everything, but the right hand especially repeatedly dropped them.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Then like hooks and uppercuts in a late right hand
- 16:32Speaker 1: dropped him. So he dropped them twice and then basically
- 16:38Speaker 1: two rounds later in the fifth round another It was
- 16:43Speaker 1: kind of an action packed moment. You know, old boy
- 16:47Speaker 1: wasn't really laying a lot back obviously, but big like
- 16:52Speaker 1: like I said, cooks uppercuts in, a big right hand
- 16:55Speaker 1: finished the fight. So Cruise, you know, Crew's got it in,
- 17:01Speaker 1: did his thing. Those right hands, like I said, were
- 17:04Speaker 1: the We're the ones that were really having the effect.
- 17:09Speaker 1: The boy was pretty tough though, I'll give him that.
- 17:12Speaker 1: But Martia, now we'll see if Martya and Cruz, if
- 17:18Speaker 1: that fight can happen, because you know it's supposed to happen.
- 17:24Speaker 1: You know that that is something that you know, sanctioning
- 17:29Speaker 1: belt wise, it's it can happen now, So it's the
- 17:36Speaker 1: ibf ah, Well, it's it actually, I think it's wouldn't
- 17:44Speaker 1: it be for like, actually, let me check. I think
- 17:47Speaker 1: it's like, yeah, I think that he I think he'll
- 17:53Speaker 1: be the mando because wasn't that the well, the final eliminator,
- 17:57Speaker 1: as we know, can be skewed clearly, but hopefully that
- 18:04Speaker 1: that didn't and let's see if they can make that fight.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Obviously it's two different promotional companies, but that would be
- 18:13Speaker 1: a very good fight, a huge step up really for
- 18:16Speaker 1: both of them. But yeah, sign me up for that fight.
- 18:20Speaker 1: I think that would be very interesting to see it,
- 18:22Speaker 1: and it should be next you know. I think that
- 18:24Speaker 1: would be I think that would be dope. I would
- 18:28Speaker 1: like that a lot. You also had Tremona knocked it
- 18:35Speaker 1: out in the first round. That really really wasn't much
- 18:39Speaker 1: there as far as like, you know, I don't know that.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Some of the undercard fights were pretty shitty obviously, but
- 18:52Speaker 1: you know, he did his job, so shouts out to him.
- 18:55Speaker 1: You also had uh Nonino ton Air fight over the weekend.
- 19:00Speaker 1: He got a unanimous that like a technical unanimous decision
- 19:09Speaker 1: basically donaire. I think it was his. I think it
- 19:15Speaker 1: was this right eye. It was a headbutt, and there
- 19:19Speaker 1: was a few of them. I'd say three or four
- 19:22Speaker 1: of them something like that, maybe maybe more. I think
- 19:28Speaker 1: it was above his right eye let me look at
- 19:30Speaker 1: mid Yeah, above his right eye. And basically, you know,
- 19:35Speaker 1: Donaire said that like, hey, dude, that you know, I
- 19:40Speaker 1: can't see out of this ship. And they went obviously
- 19:43Speaker 1: to the cards and you know, did he look you know,
- 19:48Speaker 1: did he look great or anything like that? No, you
- 19:51Speaker 1: know he didn't. He didn't look great. Moses uh knocked
- 19:59Speaker 1: out Carl Rogers too. On that undercard. I did forget
- 20:03Speaker 1: to mention that, not that it's you know, like I said,
- 20:07Speaker 1: that was just kind of like, eh, okay, that's happening,
- 20:10Speaker 1: you know it. It's It wasn't like I don't know it.
- 20:16Speaker 1: The the undercard basically sucked pretty much, to be honest
- 20:22Speaker 1: with you, but you know, those who were supposed to
- 20:25Speaker 1: win did their thing. But yeah, you know it was uh,
- 20:33Speaker 1: it was like a let me see years like maybe
- 20:39Speaker 1: like two out of the nine rounds. I think it
- 20:43Speaker 1: was like, let me look at my story card. I
- 20:45Speaker 1: think it was like I gave Campos and don there
- 20:51Speaker 1: yeah to two rounds. So you know, it is what
- 20:57Speaker 1: it is. He's back. We'll see how long he lasts
- 21:01Speaker 1: didn't didn't look all that great. Took him a little
- 21:06Speaker 1: while the motor well kind of to get the motor running,
- 21:09Speaker 1: but you know, it is what it is. Also one
- 21:13Speaker 1: Francisco Estrada, he actually well, as we know, you know,
- 21:19Speaker 1: he's getting up there in age now and you know,
- 21:27Speaker 1: this is part of boxing. This is like on the
- 21:29Speaker 1: other side of the boxing where it's just shit happens,
- 21:33Speaker 1: you know, and he just he just came back. He's
- 21:39Speaker 1: probably looking for a big fight. He you know, handled
- 21:43Speaker 1: this dude ursay uh. I think he had like three knockdowns.
- 21:49Speaker 1: I didn't score it, but it was pretty, you know,
- 21:54Speaker 1: pretty one sided. You know that that was a pretty uh,
- 22:00Speaker 1: pretty easy fight to score if you were gonna score it,
- 22:03Speaker 1: but I didn't. I did not. Also from the twenty
- 22:10Speaker 1: three hundred Arena in Philly, there were some interesting fights.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Mercado beat Pizzarro. The scorecards read one was a draw
- 22:22Speaker 1: and then one with ninety seven ninety three, ninety six,
- 22:25Speaker 1: ninety four for Mercado. I did think Mercado won, and
- 22:29Speaker 1: I think a lot of it was his power punching.
- 22:32Speaker 1: You know, you had Pizarro landing the jab. They both
- 22:36Speaker 1: went to the body. Well, I think it was pretty clear,
- 22:42Speaker 1: like the jabs were the biggest thing, like I said,
- 22:46Speaker 1: for U Pizzarro, and he definitely landed a fair amount
- 22:50Speaker 1: of those. It was sixty one to twenty four, but
- 22:53Speaker 1: one fourteen of seventy seventy four by Mercado as power shots.
- 23:01Speaker 1: He really just kind of just kind of took over
- 23:03Speaker 1: the fight, you know, down the stretch. It was a
- 23:07Speaker 1: really good back and forth fight though. But yeah, I
- 23:11Speaker 1: would say like the big, the more, the most powerful shots,
- 23:16Speaker 1: that that's you know, that's what that's what did it.
- 23:19Speaker 1: And also there was a woman's fight Leanna Cruz and
- 23:23Speaker 1: Regina and Javas, and Javas put Cruise on the canvas
- 23:27Speaker 1: in the first round and they were getting it in. Dude,
- 23:34Speaker 1: they were getting it in. Like if you look at it,
- 23:37Speaker 1: it's a it's a ten round fight. Crew Chavaz through
- 23:44Speaker 1: six eighty nine to four point fifty eight. But Cruise
- 23:46Speaker 1: landed one ninety two to one ninety one, almost basically
- 23:50Speaker 1: forty two of her overall shots. You know, that's that's
- 23:56Speaker 1: tough to do. And and they were they were messing
- 23:58Speaker 1: with the jab a little bit, but it was mostly
- 24:00Speaker 1: power shots. In eighty four to forty six from Cruise
- 24:04Speaker 1: to the Body. That was a fun fight to watch.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I did enjoy that fight. Those were some good fights,
- 24:13Speaker 1: you know. I I do appreciate that twenty three hundred building.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I think what else there was a cruiserweight, undefeated cruiserweight
- 24:29Speaker 1: who got to win. I think it was a late
- 24:31Speaker 1: knockdown Leonardo Masque or something like that. Oh and I someone,
- 24:42Speaker 1: like I mentioned earlier, someone pointed out to me that
- 24:46Speaker 1: last week I forgot to talk about not that Tani okay.
- 24:51Speaker 1: And it's funny because the second also Arislani Alvarez, who's
- 24:57Speaker 1: like he was a He was that guy who won
- 25:01Speaker 1: the Olympics in two thousand, the gold medal in the
- 25:03Speaker 1: last Olympics he he won as well. I forgot to
- 25:08Speaker 1: mention that. So it's funny because right when I was
- 25:14Speaker 1: done with the show I had, I was reading from
- 25:18Speaker 1: a scorecard, like looking at a scorecard, right, and I
- 25:24Speaker 1: thought that I was done with those notes, so I
- 25:26Speaker 1: just kind of put him to the side. And as
- 25:29Speaker 1: I was gathering to see which ones I wanted to
- 25:32Speaker 1: keep and throw away because sometimes in certain fights, I'll
- 25:36Speaker 1: keep the scorecard. And I looked and on the back
- 25:39Speaker 1: of it was was Nakatani and it's like, oh, I
- 25:43Speaker 1: wanted to talk about that fight, so yeah, thanks for
- 25:47Speaker 1: reminding me. I did. I did forget to talk about
- 25:52Speaker 1: that last week against Nashida. Hey, Nashena showed some heart, dude,
- 25:56Speaker 1: Like he was landing in exchanges at times he was
- 26:01Speaker 1: I mean, he was still trying to fight with like
- 26:03Speaker 1: a closed eye, but Nakatsani was getting the better of
- 26:10Speaker 1: him in the exchanges and those hooks and uppercuts KO win.
- 26:16Speaker 1: But it was competitive. Like I would say, I would say, like,
- 26:23Speaker 1: oops the hell. I would say, like the first I
- 26:29Speaker 1: think that. Let me look at that scorecard. I kept
- 26:32Speaker 1: it round the third, I would say, the third and
- 26:35Speaker 1: the fourth are rounds that you could give to Nashido.
- 26:42Speaker 1: That's what I'm That's that was my thoughts. But yeah,
- 26:46Speaker 1: junto you know, I it was a unification. I really
- 26:51Speaker 1: wish that we could get you know, the anyway fight
- 26:55Speaker 1: next or by the end of the year. But it
- 26:58Speaker 1: sounds like the way they talked about it, you know
- 27:00Speaker 1: early in the spring, that it's going to be next spring.
- 27:03Speaker 1: But he did look good, like I said, he.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Was just unloading these shots, dude, just basically landing anything
- 27:13Speaker 2: he wanted, but I mentioned Ishidah many he did show
- 27:16Speaker 2: some heart.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Gotta respect that because he was he was fighting all
- 27:22Speaker 1: the way to the end, and dude had a closed eye,
- 27:24Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So good call, though, much
- 27:28Speaker 1: appreciated when people give me, you know, a reminder criticism,
- 27:32Speaker 1: as long as this constructive criticism, I appreciate that. So
- 27:39Speaker 1: definitely happy that you brought that up, because I did
- 27:44Speaker 1: forget to talk about Nakazzani, who you know, is a
- 27:47Speaker 1: top ten fighter and many people's eyes, and he said,
- 27:51Speaker 1: he's an explosive, young, you know, guy who's in his prime,
- 27:55Speaker 1: and that's why you really want to you know, you
- 27:57Speaker 1: don't want to see anyway get out of his prime.
- 28:01Speaker 1: And I mean it's gonna happen at some point, but
- 28:04Speaker 1: before this fight, you know, and I think some of
- 28:08Speaker 1: us are kind of mad because last year they had
- 28:11Speaker 1: said that, you know, basically the fight would have already
- 28:14Speaker 1: happened by now, or it was gonna happen this summer
- 28:18Speaker 1: or whatever, because they were supposed to be on the
- 28:20Speaker 1: same card and that didn't work. But you know, it
- 28:22Speaker 1: is what it is. But Na Katsani, Yes, that was
- 28:26Speaker 1: that was really that's a good call I did forget
- 28:31Speaker 1: and also tension uh Thesakawasakawa. He looked good against Victor Santio,
- 28:40Speaker 1: that was uh. I mean he beat him up pretty
- 28:44Speaker 1: good obviously, and Sancio was a good pretty good fighter.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Doesn't have a lot of power. Was in a very
- 28:54Speaker 1: competitive fight with the Shida, and you know, he doesn't
- 28:57Speaker 1: have a lot of good names per se as far
- 28:59Speaker 1: as like who he beat, you know, but that was
- 29:04Speaker 1: a good performance too. I thought I might add to that.
- 29:07Speaker 1: So Brian Norman Junior is gonna fight like in the
- 29:12Speaker 1: wee hours of the morning, okay, Sasaki, It's on ESPN plus.
- 29:24Speaker 1: You know, I think that I think it's gonna be
- 29:31Speaker 1: like a spirited fight. While at lasts I think Brian
- 29:37Speaker 1: Norman Junior will knock him out, for like, I believe
- 29:44Speaker 1: in that. I do think he will do that, but
- 29:49Speaker 1: I I think it could be it could be really fun,
- 29:53Speaker 1: you know, while we get there. You know, I do
- 29:55Speaker 1: think that it should be a pretty fun your fight
- 30:00Speaker 1: or just two dudes mixing it up. If you want
- 30:06Speaker 1: to go in against Norman. Vandel has it plus four
- 30:12Speaker 1: to ten. Right now, there is a Semmesry and Aronetta
- 30:19Speaker 1: is a really close fight going on too. That's like
- 30:23Speaker 1: a plus one oh six minus one forty, so that
- 30:25Speaker 1: that should be a really you know, competitive fight anyway
- 30:29Speaker 1: on paper. Let's see here, So you know, we we
- 30:36Speaker 1: have like Melanecki returning, there's some stuff on that undercard
- 30:40Speaker 1: as well. You Faire Rodriguez. That should be a good fight.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Kind of looking forward to that. I also think Lorenzo
- 30:51Speaker 1: Simpson and John Tucker. I think Tucker is gonna win
- 30:55Speaker 1: the fight, but I bet she's Simpson, who is a
- 30:58Speaker 1: fairly live dog. I've been in him around like the
- 31:01Speaker 1: plus two fifty plus two sixty, plus two seventy I
- 31:05Speaker 1: think is the highest. Let me check right now on
- 31:07Speaker 1: pro boxing odds. Yeah, still right around that. FanDuel has
- 31:13Speaker 1: him plus two sixty. So if you like that, jump
- 31:15Speaker 1: on that. Personally, you know, I do like John Tucker
- 31:22Speaker 1: in that fight, but you know, it's just something to
- 31:25Speaker 1: keep an eye on. What other fights do we have?
- 31:31Speaker 1: The Walker Taylor fight, Uh, that should be a good
- 31:36Speaker 1: fight on paper anyway. Taylor the highest I see him
- 31:39Speaker 1: as like a plus two hundred two ten something like that. So,
- 31:46Speaker 1: like I said this week, and it doesn't like like uh,
- 31:51Speaker 1: David Stevens, who's a very slight favorite over Peter Kamukov Kmukov.
- 32:02Speaker 1: That's like a pick him fight. So it is one
- 32:06Speaker 1: of those weekends that, sure, you know, it may not
- 32:10Speaker 1: blow you away, right, but I bet you we just
- 32:14Speaker 1: get some good fights. Brandon Lee is fighting as well.
- 32:20Speaker 1: You know, he's fighting a guy who you know, who's
- 32:27Speaker 1: basically like fought guys like Cabarero and I know he
- 32:31Speaker 1: fought Martaya and uh who else did he fight some
- 32:37Speaker 1: unbeaten a war as I believe Omar Warres. So you know,
- 32:46Speaker 1: I think it's just getting Brandon Lee a fight, you know,
- 32:50Speaker 1: and it'd be nice to get him, get him going.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Basically he fought in the summer last year, so you know,
- 33:03Speaker 1: he's just in a fight. I guess you could say,
- 33:06Speaker 1: I mean to be honest with you, just to be honest,
- 33:09Speaker 1: but yeah, the joh Tucker Lorenzo Smith Veto is taking
- 33:15Speaker 1: on an unbeaten guy that doesn't have a lot of
- 33:17Speaker 1: power guard seelick or something like that. I've seen him
- 33:22Speaker 1: fight just like Actually, I think I watched some of
- 33:28Speaker 1: the Joelle Julio fight if I remember, it was a
- 33:32Speaker 1: few years back, and I've just seen like highlights of them.
- 33:35Speaker 1: But you know, Veto is he's probably gonna win this fight.
- 33:40Speaker 1: He's coming off you know, a close fight. So yeah,
- 33:48Speaker 1: like I said, I'm not trying to like pump up
- 33:51Speaker 1: these fights and be like, dude, this weekend's gonna be crazy,
- 33:53Speaker 1: But there are just times when these these weekends just
- 33:58Speaker 1: pop off. Dude, it'll be interesting to see uh Peter
- 34:02Speaker 1: mcrel and uh Balluta. You know that's just like it's
- 34:10Speaker 1: just there. You know, it'll just probably be a good scrap.
- 34:14Speaker 1: You know. Once again, I'm not trying to say, man,
- 34:18Speaker 1: this weekend is gonna be awesome. But the the Galileafaya
- 34:24Speaker 1: fight I am looking forward to. I think he's a
- 34:26Speaker 1: pretty good fighter. He's obviously coming up that Sonny Edwards
- 34:31Speaker 1: late last year, coming off you know, big ass win
- 34:35Speaker 1: for him and Francisco Rodriguez. You know, I think he'll
- 34:39Speaker 1: fight him competitive. He's a guy that actually, well he
- 34:43Speaker 1: made it ten rounds against Nakatani. Now did he win
- 34:46Speaker 1: a bunch of rounds? It was six to four. No,
- 34:51Speaker 1: he did fight a somewhat competitive fight even longer ago
- 34:56Speaker 1: against Kazuto Ioka, But so you know, I did I
- 35:02Speaker 1: like by decision. I think I think I'm gonna go
- 35:06Speaker 1: by a decision with you, Faya. But Francissler Rodrie is
- 35:10Speaker 1: a good fighter. You know. It's not like he's been
- 35:15Speaker 1: stopped a bunch, right, and when he did get stopped
- 35:20Speaker 1: and actually, Jesus, I forgot about the I remember the
- 35:24Speaker 1: I forgot about the Flint Days fight. I remember the Yeah,
- 35:31Speaker 1: I mean he got stopped like against roaming gets all
- 35:34Speaker 1: all over back in two thousand and thirteen. So you know,
- 35:40Speaker 1: I don't really look at that as like, oh dude,
- 35:42Speaker 1: you know, so that's why I have it. I have
- 35:46Speaker 1: if I uh, winning that fight, but I could see
- 35:49Speaker 1: like a little bit of competitives in there. But you know,
- 35:52Speaker 1: coming off that Sonny Edwards fight where he basically just
- 35:57Speaker 1: ran through him one every round, I believe in my scorecard.
- 36:03Speaker 1: So so yeah, he uh, he's kind of the biggest
- 36:08Speaker 1: fight I'm looking forward to. You know, when it comes
- 36:12Speaker 1: to the to the weekend, there's a just a mixed
- 36:16Speaker 1: bag of everything and we'll see, you know, hopefully we
- 36:21Speaker 1: get some bangers in there. There's also that WBC Boxing
- 36:29Speaker 1: Grand Prix on Friday night that uh com com u god,
- 36:35Speaker 1: I can't remember that's who's Stevens. How you say his
- 36:38Speaker 1: last name? That's on his own though. Friday night, Camukov
- 36:42Speaker 1: and Stevens, that should be a good fight. I do
- 36:49Speaker 1: like that fight. And that's that's about it for the weekend.
- 37:00Speaker 1: I think video win might knock him out, maybe not.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I think Tucker will win by decision. But let's just
- 37:07Speaker 1: hope that, you know, shit just pops off and it
- 37:10Speaker 1: turns out to be you know, like multiple fights that
- 37:15Speaker 1: are just great. You know what else you got here?
- 37:24Speaker 1: I think that's about it for the weekend, I believe. Yeah.
- 37:34Speaker 1: So let's talk about Canelo Crawford in Oscire de Joya
- 37:45Speaker 1: what he said just in general, he was saying that,
- 37:47Speaker 1: you know, all the ring magazine writers are off the
- 37:50Speaker 1: media or is paid off, I should say in the
- 37:55Speaker 1: media in general, the way he put it, is paid off,
- 37:58Speaker 1: and that people aren't going to talk about Eddie Renoso
- 38:04Speaker 1: or talk about because you know, they've had a lot
- 38:07Speaker 1: of people busted in his camp. And so he said
- 38:10Speaker 1: there should be an investigation, and and he also said,
- 38:15Speaker 1: you know, I'm gonna talk to Eddie, I'm gonna talk
- 38:17Speaker 1: to Al and we're not going anywhere. And you know,
- 38:20Speaker 1: he basically kind of looks like he's on the out
- 38:25Speaker 1: with Turkey. And when you say stuff like you know,
- 38:31Speaker 1: they're paid off and they're not going to say anything.
- 38:34Speaker 1: And you know, now, to be fair, if you go
- 38:39Speaker 1: back and listen to what Oscar said when he was
- 38:41Speaker 1: selling the Ring magazine to Turkey, you know, he talked
- 38:47Speaker 1: pretty well of him, right, So that part's pretty contradicting
- 38:53Speaker 1: because it's like, oh, really, okay, well, if you don't
- 38:56Speaker 1: like the scenario that's going on, what the hell did
- 38:59Speaker 1: you sell the Ring? Then you know it is what
- 39:03Speaker 1: it is, right. But so he said some other stuff, right,
- 39:07Speaker 1: But his clap back included Canelo Crawford is going to
- 39:13Speaker 1: be in the afternoon and they're going to do a
- 39:16Speaker 1: UFC event at night. Now, it may be completely bullshit,
- 39:23Speaker 1: it may be maybe it's true, but they're going to
- 39:26Speaker 1: change it. You know, I really don't know. But if
- 39:29Speaker 1: they because they're gonna you know, it just got announce
- 39:32Speaker 1: that it's going to be in uh, it's going to
- 39:34Speaker 1: be in a stadium, Allegiance Stadium where the Raiders play.
- 39:38Speaker 1: So if it were during the b during the afternoon,
- 39:45Speaker 1: and that would be college football really all the way
- 39:48Speaker 1: in by that time. That'd be ridiculous. It would just
- 39:55Speaker 1: be ridiculous. Now I don't know it to be true,
- 40:00Speaker 1: but if it's in the afternoon, and if that were
- 40:04Speaker 1: to be true, that'd be just silly, right. But also
- 40:07Speaker 1: like if it's in the afternoon and you say it's
- 40:09Speaker 1: big a fight, it is, but then it's gonna make
- 40:12Speaker 1: room it's in the afternoon for the UFC to have
- 40:15Speaker 1: a bed at night, that would be acid. However, I'm
- 40:21Speaker 1: not the type to just believe Oscar either. And I
- 40:25Speaker 1: could also see if if Turkey got some public criticism
- 40:29Speaker 1: for the time, I could see his ass somehow changing it.
- 40:32Speaker 1: You know, I don't know. So yeah, I've already gave
- 40:40Speaker 1: my thoughts on you know, it being on Netflix, which
- 40:43Speaker 1: is phenomenal. You know, the stadium vibe when you have
- 40:50Speaker 1: a guy like Canelo and Crawford, who's a perfect B
- 40:53Speaker 1: side for Canelo, that should do really well there as
- 40:57Speaker 1: far as attendance. But yeah, I just hope it's not
- 41:01Speaker 1: during the day. That would be ridiculous. Oh. Also, Benavidez
- 41:09Speaker 1: and Calliam Smith are in negotiations. I first heard this
- 41:15Speaker 1: from an interview where Eddie Hearn said as much right.
- 41:24Speaker 1: He said that you know, we do have an offer
- 41:26Speaker 1: and this is from Ring Magazine that it's it's in
- 41:31Speaker 1: play for October. Eddie Hearn did say that the PBC
- 41:36Speaker 1: gave Calliam Smith an offer, right, and they're targeting Vegas
- 41:41Speaker 1: or Dallas, and you know Benavid has said I also,
- 41:46Speaker 1: you know, if if there was a counter offer, I
- 41:49Speaker 1: would be willing to go to the UK if it's right.
- 41:55Speaker 1: But you know that they're targeting Dallas or Vegas and
- 42:00Speaker 1: they're negotiating it. You know there, I guess Samson said
- 42:05Speaker 1: that Anthony Yard, who stared to Frank Warren, would be
- 42:09Speaker 1: a consideration if that deal falls through. But if that
- 42:12Speaker 1: deal felt through, my guess is that's the fight you
- 42:16Speaker 1: know that would be made Kelly Smithy Yard. But maybe
- 42:20Speaker 1: that's just me. I thought that was the fight that
- 42:22Speaker 1: was going to happen, to be honest with you, but
- 42:28Speaker 1: basically said, you know, you know, Eddie Hearn, if they
- 42:33Speaker 1: want to make the deal, we're one phone call away.
- 42:38Speaker 1: And so you know, given the landscape, giving the actual fights,
- 42:42Speaker 1: we know the canal fight's not going to happen for now.
- 42:45Speaker 1: If it ever happens, which you know, I wouldn't get
- 42:48Speaker 1: helps up. That would be a good that would be
- 42:53Speaker 1: a good fight. That'd be a good fight in a
- 42:56Speaker 1: string of really good fights. So also I honesed on
- 43:02Speaker 1: Ring Magazine today that that the TKO Boxing plans the
- 43:10Speaker 1: stage twelve events per year for the next five years,
- 43:15Speaker 1: including four mega matchups per year. So maybe per season,
- 43:21Speaker 1: maybe there'll be two in the summer. Who knows, they
- 43:23Speaker 1: won't go as heavy during football or something. I have
- 43:26Speaker 1: no clue, but so basically once a month or it
- 43:30Speaker 1: says twelve events per year, So like I said, maybe
- 43:33Speaker 1: in the summer they double up or something like that.
- 43:37Speaker 1: So we'll see what kind of events these will be,
- 43:41Speaker 1: you know, and who's on the roster, and maybe they're
- 43:47Speaker 1: not looking to build up a big roster and they're
- 43:50Speaker 1: just gonna, you know, go little by little. And I
- 43:53Speaker 1: don't really know. I don't know. I really don't know
- 43:56Speaker 1: exactly how that's gonna go. So anyway, do do do do?
- 44:04Speaker 1: So let's get into some other fight news and you know,
- 44:13Speaker 1: boxing Twitter stuff and all that. Like I said, you know,
- 44:16Speaker 1: we now know a lot of a Legion stadium that's
- 44:20Speaker 1: where the fight's taking place. Oh, also, him Mungia's b
- 44:27Speaker 1: sample returned, and you know it, it was the same
- 44:30Speaker 1: as the A side or the A side, the A sample.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Here's a quote from Deontay Wilder Quitting was never an option.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Boxing isn't a game. It's survival. He's got a fight
- 44:44Speaker 1: coming out, not this weekend, but next weekend. I don't know.
- 44:50Speaker 1: There was a quote here on this zone that Edgar
- 44:54Speaker 1: Berlanga has himself beating, so this is what he thinks.
- 44:58Speaker 1: A prime Nigel Ben a prime jokel Zagi Canelo want
- 45:04Speaker 1: to rematch in a prime Felix Trinidad, that's who he thinks.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Uh he he would beat. So like we've seen you
- 45:14Speaker 1: in your prime? When are you gonna get good victories?
- 45:17Speaker 1: To say that you're gonna beat all these dudes, like
- 45:20Speaker 1: it's just it's just funny, not really, No, oh yeah.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Adamsins called out George campbos Is the fight September twenty fifth.
- 45:35Speaker 1: You know, I don't look too much into that. It
- 45:41Speaker 1: is what it is. Do I So someone messes me?
- 45:46Speaker 1: Do I think that Sasaki is a like a worthy
- 45:54Speaker 1: opponent for Norman? And you know, I do think he's
- 46:01Speaker 1: gonna you know, like land punches and all that, and
- 46:04Speaker 1: I think it will be fun. Like I mentioned, it'll
- 46:06Speaker 1: be entertaining. I just think like the the more accurate,
- 46:10Speaker 1: shorter punch, like the more the better, not just the
- 46:15Speaker 1: better puncher, but like I said, the more accurate, the shorter,
- 46:18Speaker 1: the I just that that's gonna be his undoing, you know,
- 46:25Speaker 1: whether he deserves We're gonna find out if he deserves
- 46:27Speaker 1: to be in there or not, you know, obviously, you know,
- 46:33Speaker 1: so we will see how that goes. So, yeah, with
- 46:38Speaker 1: which Hitchinson. Now you have Russell play you Lopez and Hitchins.
- 46:45Speaker 1: That's that's what the division looks like. This is Adrian
- 46:51Speaker 1: Delgatto talking about Richard Hitchins to exactly what he was
- 46:55Speaker 1: supposed to do. He was always had a great jab
- 46:57Speaker 1: that sets its tone by controlling range, shirtedness and well
- 47:01Speaker 1: placed sharp punches. Ended up closing the Shoy show. Excuse me,
- 47:05Speaker 1: poised patient dangerous when he walked down Cambosas. Yeah, I
- 47:09Speaker 1: did like how he he did that. He definitely like
- 47:14Speaker 1: he had these moments where he pushed them back. I
- 47:18Speaker 1: really hope he gets big fight. Oh yeah. There was
- 47:22Speaker 1: a little like box wreck scenario with Virgil Ortiz and
- 47:29Speaker 1: there was an apology basically like there was a fight
- 47:34Speaker 1: or two fights. Ye had two results. This is from
- 47:38Speaker 1: Bunch Bunch Boxing earlier today, two results of a boxing
- 47:42Speaker 1: record of Virginal Orties were erroneously changed in no contest.
- 47:46Speaker 1: The air has been since corrected. So they were saying
- 47:50Speaker 1: sorry about the confusion. Oh yeah. Edwin de los Santo's
- 47:56Speaker 1: parted ways with Samson. He said there was a quote
- 47:59Speaker 1: for Coppinger. Unfortunately. What bothered me was the most that
- 48:05Speaker 1: I was offered fifty thousand to continue to fight. My
- 48:08Speaker 1: coach asked for three hundred thousand because Keishaan was four
- 48:12Speaker 1: point three overweight, so he said that basically he thought
- 48:19Speaker 1: he should get more money out of it in that scenario.
- 48:25Speaker 1: But yeah, I guess it came as a pretty big surprise.
- 48:30Speaker 1: So you know, kind of surprise when it comes to that. Okay.
- 48:36Speaker 1: This is also from Brunch Boxing. The WBC will order
- 48:42Speaker 1: about between interim WBC Junior minaweight Virgil Ortase and Sir
- 48:47Speaker 1: Hey Boachuck. So there's gonna be a rematch there. I
- 48:51Speaker 1: don't know how I feel about that, but it's not
- 48:56Speaker 1: like it's not a good fight, you know what I mean, Boachuck.
- 48:59Speaker 1: I think it's basically Bocher came out of a really
- 49:02Speaker 1: shitty performance, and I'm sure he'll get up for this fight,
- 49:06Speaker 1: but he did come off a fight where he didn't
- 49:08Speaker 1: look good at all, So you know, it just seems
- 49:15Speaker 1: like kind of been there, done that. But you have
- 49:19Speaker 1: to admit that the fight probably warranted a rematch, So
- 49:23Speaker 1: I'm okay with that. This is Broadway, Joel. He said
- 49:27Speaker 1: that you know Edwin de los Santo's did not sign
- 49:32Speaker 1: with Jay Prince. It sounds like they were close to
- 49:36Speaker 1: a deal, but it actually hasn't happened just yet, so yeah,
- 49:46Speaker 1: I don't know. Oh here's Naji said, Damn Edwin, he
- 49:50Speaker 1: looked out for you talking about Sampson. You were drained
- 49:53Speaker 1: and more unlikely would have got your ass whooped. But
- 49:57Speaker 1: that could affect your career, he said, whole game. I
- 50:01Speaker 1: will say this de los Santo's no matter what would
- 50:05Speaker 1: happen in the week or whatever, or in that fight,
- 50:08Speaker 1: he did look drained. Though his face looked drained, I
- 50:11Speaker 1: will say that he definitely looked drained. I do have
- 50:16Speaker 1: to think that darn Ennis says two things I ain't
- 50:20Speaker 1: doing hate not nobody and waiting on nobody. Ooh, we
- 50:26Speaker 1: heard this from. I believe it was Cambosa's camp. I
- 50:31Speaker 1: think it was his father. He said the ring size
- 50:34Speaker 1: for the whole Berlanga Hira's card will be eighteen by
- 50:38Speaker 1: eighteen instead of twenty by twenty. Umm, here's a tweet.
- 50:45Speaker 1: I can't tell it's from because it's cut off. Turkey
- 50:47Speaker 1: used Oscar, but Oscar cash the checks. Then Turkey bought
- 50:51Speaker 1: the ring ring from him, And now Oscar is salty.
- 50:56Speaker 1: I'd be salty too, but let's be real. He played
- 51:00Speaker 1: his part and got paid. Can't cry now, Like I said,
- 51:04Speaker 1: I don't know tweeted that, but yeah, I agree. Dillion
- 51:08Speaker 1: White does sound like it's one hundred percent on with Moses.
- 51:13Speaker 1: And you have a Kakachi and Ford, nick Ball and Goodman.
- 51:20Speaker 1: You got uh Adelai and Hergevic. So it's kind of
- 51:24Speaker 1: interesting there, kind of a little interesting card there. I
- 51:28Speaker 1: kind of kind of like that that. I think it's
- 51:32Speaker 1: a good step up. We'll see what Dillion White, you know,
- 51:35Speaker 1: has left, but I think it's a good step up
- 51:37Speaker 1: for Moses Bakrahan September thirteenth, eyeballs, the one fifty four
- 51:46Speaker 1: pounder who shocked the world beaten Tim Zu. We'll see
- 51:51Speaker 1: is he back now? Between June twenty eighth and July nineteenth,
- 51:56Speaker 1: the Zone Boxing has three pay per views in addition
- 52:00Speaker 1: to either the annual or Monkey subscription. What are we
- 52:02Speaker 1: doing here? Yeah? I mean you have Jake Paul Chabas,
- 52:08Speaker 1: you have Usik Dubois, and then you have the Berlanga,
- 52:13Speaker 1: Shiraz and Shakur zippot of it. The thing is, and
- 52:16Speaker 1: you know what those twenty five dollars you know, those
- 52:19Speaker 1: twenty five dollars pay views are out the window now,
- 52:23Speaker 1: just like that. You know, there was so much whole
- 52:26Speaker 1: home about it. There was so much well it wasn't
- 52:29Speaker 1: he home. The media was just like, oh dude, look
- 52:31Speaker 1: what he's doing for us. You know, first of all,
- 52:34Speaker 1: I knew that one stand and two it is true,
- 52:39Speaker 1: like the Usak Dubois. Should that be a pay per
- 52:44Speaker 1: view in the US? You know, it is what it is? Right,
- 52:47Speaker 1: it is what it is. You knew Jake Paul Chabas
- 52:51Speaker 1: was going to be a pay per view, But should
- 52:52Speaker 1: that be a pay per view? You know overseas probably not,
- 52:57Speaker 1: But I understand that. But I do wish they could
- 53:01Speaker 1: find a way not to have that. Chakorza Pata sharaz
- 53:06Speaker 1: Erlanga on pay per view. That would have been just
- 53:09Speaker 1: a good ring one, just straight up. And at some
- 53:11Speaker 1: point you can't do just pay per view. And I
- 53:17Speaker 1: know they're aren't they doing like a two for three,
- 53:19Speaker 1: Like if you buy two out of three, we'll give
- 53:21Speaker 1: you it's only ninety bucks or one hundred dollars. So okay,
- 53:25Speaker 1: it's still only forty five fifty bucks. But still it's
- 53:28Speaker 1: like it's the zone's already a paywall, and if you
- 53:32Speaker 1: want to go off of streaming like streaming competition, it's
- 53:38Speaker 1: the largest paywall, like considering what it offers, it's by
- 53:43Speaker 1: far the largest pay So you're already having to pay
- 53:47Speaker 1: for a sub. Okay, cool, But when do we get
- 53:51Speaker 1: some other stuff on there? It's just anything to do
- 53:55Speaker 1: with Turkey and Sadi. It's all pay per view for
- 53:58Speaker 1: the pretty much. It's only been one none pay per
- 54:00Speaker 1: view correct with the zero, right, I think that's true.
- 54:05Speaker 1: That's really bad. It's just how it goes back to
- 54:08Speaker 1: growing the sport. How do you grow the sport at
- 54:11Speaker 1: the side, you're gonna do it? Uh j Row brought
- 54:14Speaker 1: up a good point. It is ridiculous that top rank
- 54:18Speaker 1: the on Twitter have blocked media outlet brunch Boxing. It's
- 54:23Speaker 1: a shame that top rank is excluding a credible media outlet.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Why would you exclude a platform that speaks favorably on
- 54:30Speaker 1: so many of your fighters, like in you Way and
- 54:32Speaker 1: Mason and Carrington. Yeah, that's that's pretty ridiculous. That is
- 54:37Speaker 1: pretty ridiculous. What else have we got here? Now? Is
- 54:48Speaker 1: that Moses in August? Is that a pay per view? Here?
- 54:54Speaker 1: Is that going to be a pay per view here?
- 54:58Speaker 1: I could see why it'd be a PA review in
- 55:00Speaker 1: the UK? I get that, but is that going to
- 55:03Speaker 1: be a pay per view here? It does sound like
- 55:06Speaker 1: here's another one from brunch Boxing, rayvars Ray Vargas is
- 55:10Speaker 1: expected to make his return to the ring in August
- 55:12Speaker 1: against Carlos Castro. So we'll see, we will see. Yeah.
- 55:20Speaker 1: So here it is so if you buy two out
- 55:26Speaker 1: of three pay per views, they can be bundled for
- 55:28Speaker 1: basically ninety five dollars. So you're paying almost fifty dollars
- 55:36Speaker 1: for the pay per views. So between yeah, so I
- 55:42Speaker 1: mean between June twenty eighth and once again, three out
- 55:47Speaker 1: of four weekends in a row. Is that is that true?
- 55:51Speaker 1: Because that's so July okay. So the other of June,
- 55:58Speaker 1: so that's next weekend is that Paul fight, and then
- 56:01Speaker 1: you skip. Yeah, so three out of four weekends they
- 56:05Speaker 1: have pay per views, and if you buy two out
- 56:09Speaker 1: of the three and you bundle it, okay. So so
- 56:14Speaker 1: it's sixt they're sixty dollars each, twenty five dollars in
- 56:20Speaker 1: the UK. I believe that's what I'm looking at. So
- 56:28Speaker 1: so you're looking at sixty dollars if you don't if
- 56:31Speaker 1: you only want to rent one of them with sixty dollars,
- 56:34Speaker 1: if you want to rent two of them, it's ninety
- 56:36Speaker 1: or ninety five. It's just like I said, it's better
- 56:40Speaker 1: than seventy five. We get it. But and people will say, oh,
- 56:47Speaker 1: they're doing a huge favor. To an extent, they are,
- 56:49Speaker 1: but some of these fights they put on pay review
- 56:51Speaker 1: shouldn't be on pay per view. I mean there was
- 56:54Speaker 1: fights like in that Fox deal with PBC, they had
- 56:58Speaker 1: four pay per views the first year. I watched three
- 57:01Speaker 1: out of the four in the theaters. So I was
- 57:04Speaker 1: for those three, I was paying seventy five dollars total,
- 57:08Speaker 1: you know, But yet they weren't the same media members
- 57:11Speaker 1: weren't talking that up you know, they weren't saying, hey, dude,
- 57:14Speaker 1: this is how you say money. You know, I did
- 57:18Speaker 1: get some shtick last week for how I handled the
- 57:25Speaker 1: loma Chenko thing. Well, first of all, I forgot Nakatani right,
- 57:31Speaker 1: and that was because it was kind of a rush
- 57:34Speaker 1: show that I only had a certain amount of time
- 57:36Speaker 1: to fit in. So maybe that was part of the
- 57:40Speaker 1: Lomachenko stuff. But I thought that was pretty fair. I
- 57:44Speaker 1: thought it was pretty fair. But there were some messages
- 57:48Speaker 1: and I did notice some just boxing Twitter stuff, and
- 57:53Speaker 1: some of this stuff is just fanboyish, dude, like just
- 57:56Speaker 1: because he had a great he had a phenomenal amateur record.
- 58:00Speaker 1: But I thought I gave him a lot of respect.
- 58:05Speaker 1: You know. I thought the statement of he became so
- 58:09Speaker 1: overrated that he was underrated, I think that's pretty fitting.
- 58:14Speaker 1: Do I think he's gonna be a Hall of Famer? Yes,
- 58:16Speaker 1: I do. I do. When you look at his best wins,
- 58:22Speaker 1: they're just not all that impressive. I mean, the Rigo
- 58:25Speaker 1: is his best win, but is it that impressive considering
- 58:28Speaker 1: the weight jump? I mean, how much credit will Canelo
- 58:34Speaker 1: get if he beats Crawford off of the weight jump.
- 58:36Speaker 1: Let's say it's like ten to two. Let's just say, right,
- 58:40Speaker 1: ten to two, and Crawford just couldn't do anything whatever.
- 58:48Speaker 1: He was, you know, to hesitant. He got hit with
- 58:51Speaker 1: a punch early and it whatever. I don't know, but
- 58:54Speaker 1: how much credit would would he get, you know, Canelo
- 58:58Speaker 1: probably not a whole lot. So but here is some
- 59:01Speaker 1: boxing Twitter stuff that just this just gives me fanboy vibes.
- 59:06Speaker 1: I'm just being honest. In my book, Loma retired undefeated
- 59:11Speaker 1: and is the best fighter I ever saw. Now the
- 59:14Speaker 1: best fighter you ever saw. If you don't watch MUCKs
- 59:17Speaker 1: boxing and Loma's your favorite fighter, maybe, But to say
- 59:22Speaker 1: he retired undefeated, what Now, here's another one. He's definitely
- 59:27Speaker 1: one of the best to lace up the gloves come on.
- 59:31Speaker 1: His skill set was on another level from most fighters.
- 59:35Speaker 1: I wish he had added a cornerman that could have
- 59:39Speaker 1: helped him more than his dad could real time. His
- 59:44Speaker 1: three loss losses could have been avoided with a better
- 59:47Speaker 1: corner help. I don't know if I blame that to
- 59:51Speaker 1: be honesty, because it's up to you. It's up to
- 59:56Speaker 1: the fighter. Though you knew what was at stake down
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: the stretch of a fight or in the beginning of
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: a fight. If you look at how Lomachenko fought in
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: the beginning of that tale female fight, it was like,
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: what are you doing? You know, so I don't know.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: And like I said, close fights aren't robberies. Dude. If
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: you thought Devin Haney lost to Loma, cool, but to
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: call it a robbery, it's just it's showing your fandom
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Mark o'chaiga. He tweeted out, Lomachek was extremely talented fighter,
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: some of the best skills I've ever seen, but he
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: ended up with a B minus or a B plus
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: career when we were all promised much more than that.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Didn't quite live up to the insane expectations. Like I said,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: the guy was popular. Man. You know this is rolled
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: partial on the feet or unified, and it partially unified.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: At one thirty five one won the ring belt, but
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: it was never lineal. I agree with that. Best wins Lenares, Walters,
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: Rigo and Gary Russell Jr. And those are all good wins.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: I mean the Walters one you could say was his
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: best performance. Maybe you know, you really could, you really could.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: I thought all three losses were legit and who he
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: actually beat borderline Hall of Famer but yeah, to me,
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: I just, I just you know, is Gary Russell Jr.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: Going into the Hall of Fame? Do you think Lenares
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: is going in the Hall of Fame. I did hear
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: people talking about, you know, Eddie Hern being mad at
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: at Richardson Hitchins feeling disrespected. Jay Row said Eddie invested
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: zero of his own money on Hitchins. He used his
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: own budget to pay Hitchins. Tired of these promoters with
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: network deals and budgets acting like they're losing their own
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: money to put up fights they're not. That's a good point.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Eddie gets paid five million a year for his own
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: no matter if the card makes money or not. Now
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: he's trying to blame a fighter for Eddie not able
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: to sell an event. Yeah, I mean, you know, he
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: did say he lost a bunch of They lost a
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: bunch of money. You know, it is what it is. Oh,
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: I saw a lot of people, so I can't see
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: who I remember. I remember seeing this on Twitter, but
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: someone sent this to me and they cut off the
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: person that posted it. I just can't remember who did it.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: But British Best Ever Boxer list right he put Lennox
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Lewis Kalzaggi, Hatton u Bank Senior, Ben Joshua Bu Cannon,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: cont Con Frotzen Fury first of all, to put Tyson
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Fury at ten and have Anthony Joshua Sex is ludicrous
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: to have a mirror con above Carl Frotz. I wouldn't
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: go there, but you know, we people do tend to
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: forget some of the things he did at a lower
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: weight class. I will say that. But you know, Prince Nazine,
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: I did hear this. Someone actually said Josh Taylor, Well
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: he's not British though he's not British, so there's a
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: difference between the UK and in British, you know. But
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: you know, Fitz Simmons, h Jimmy Wilde, Duke McKenzie. I
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: heard some other names too. Yeah, the list is pretty incomplete.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: I will say that, and I think it's out of order.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: But I just I think the aging thing is why umm,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: here's Fred again having a promoter reach out to someone
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: to have them agree they won't pay a fighter unless
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: they're the promoters, and is involved as fucking illegal. Yeah,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: I mean, you know, I don't know man, uh well,
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: Gary and Gary Antoine Russell. How can a guy lose
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: to me four times in the amateurs. We both have
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: belts in the same division, yet don't even want to
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: fight me. Boxing is getting soft for real. I fight.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: I'll fight anyone as long as it makes sense, money
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: or legacy. Thank you's talking about see you talk about Hitchins.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: I think, yeah, I also got some top range stuff.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: I don't know if they have deals in place or not.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: I've heard that. I've heard a variety of things. I've
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: heard they're gonna have their own streaming service, and I
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: didn't just hear it from you know who. I've heard
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: that they're going to you know that they have a
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: deals in place and they're going to announce it. So
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: I don't know whether it's because we heard a while ago,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: I did hear this, or I did see this this
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: dude's say. I just talked to Arab in Japan about
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: the broadcast situation. Obviously Netflix is the biggest, but there
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: are other streaming services that are looking to make a
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: deal with them, and also one big network that wants
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: to make a deal. Once we put that together within
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: the next two weeks, we'll have a big announcement. So
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: but we did hear that before. I will say that
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: we did hear that before, So that's not you know
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: what I mean, That's not like that's what he told
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: other people. So I don't know, man, I really don't know.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: I think, yeah, what we're gonna find out. I want
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: the best for boxing. So oh, here's a good way
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: to end this is BBC News. I saw this on
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: the brunch Boxing Twitter handle. Boxing trainer Steffie Bull has
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: been has been found guilty of conspiracy to supply cocaine.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: He faces up to sixteen years in prison. Boltrain and
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: Harper McDonald hughes. The bb of C says the license
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: is under review. So oh, boy, was moving some real
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: weight anyway. I think I'm gonna get out of here.
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: Let's just hope for this weekend to be multiple fights
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: that are like, dude, this fight's not necessarily leading to
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: that many places. I mean, you FI in some others.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: But but it was just a good scrap, you know.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: I do think we're gonna have a few just goodass scraps. Ultimately,
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: like I said, they don't have a major value to them.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: But there's some good fighters fighting this weekend and it
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: might just be a competitive weekend that we kind of remember, like, hey, dude,
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: that was a good ass weekend. So I've said it before,
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: I'll say it again. You know, it's like a broken record,
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: but like a fair amount of times, these weekends, they
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: just they just tend to pop off. Man. They tend
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: to pop off with a fight like a fight of
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: the year. And it might, like I said, I not
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: have a ton of meaning to it, but it's just
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: a top ten fight of the year. Anyway, I'm gonna
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: get out of here, enjoy the fights this weekend. I'll
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: be back next week Piece
