Halloween & Soul Costumes: How to Energetically Embody Your Past Lives · The Unity Code - Where Science Meets Energy, Consciousness, and Spirit.

• 0:00
SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to the Unity Code where we explore consciousness, spirit, and the energetic frequencies that connect us all.
• 0:08
SPEAKER_00: I'm your host, Nicole Pope, a former corporate executive turned spiritual explorer, and today we're diving into a holiday that is equal parts fun, mysterious, and deeply spiritual Halloween.
• 0:20
SPEAKER_00: On the surface, I have two kids here, so it tends to, at least in my house, look like candy and costumes and spooky decorations.
• 0:26
SPEAKER_00: But beneath that, Halloween is a living ritual of imagination, transformation, and play.
• 0:32
SPEAKER_00: It's a day when we can connect to the unseen, honor our ancestors, and give our inner child full permission to come out and play.
• 0:41
SPEAKER_00: So in today's episode, we'll explore the deep origins of Halloween, how it's celebrated around the world, and why its playful energy is actually nourishment for your soul.
• 0:51
SPEAKER_00: Starting with the origins of Halloween, it is far older than most of us realize.
• 0:57
SPEAKER_00: Its roots trace back more than 2,000 years to the ancient Celtic festival of Sawin, celebrated in what is now today Ireland, Scotland, and northern France.
• 1:07
SPEAKER_00: Sawin marked the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter.
• 1:10
SPEAKER_00: The Celts believed that during this time, spirits could walk among the living, carrying messages, guidance, and sometimes even mischief.
• 1:18
SPEAKER_00: To honor and protect their communities, they lit bonfires to symbolize purification and protection.
• 1:24
SPEAKER_00: They wore masks and costumes to confuse and ward off wandering spirits, and they left offerings of food and drink for benevolent ancestors and fey beings.
• 1:35
SPEAKER_00: It wasn't just superstition, it was energetic work.
• 1:39
SPEAKER_00: They understood that energy was alive and reciprocal, and by engaging in ritual, they were harmonizing themselves with the natural cycles of death, birth, and renewal.
• 1:49
SPEAKER_00: When Christianity spread through Europe, Sawin merged with All Saints Day, known as All Hallows Day, on November 1st, and then the evening before became All Hallows Eve, which we now call Halloween.
• 2:01
SPEAKER_00: Even as the names changed, the essence remained the same: honoring the dead, celebrating transformation, and engaging with mystery through play.
• 2:10
SPEAKER_00: So let's take a look at how some of our modern traditions evolved.
• 2:16
SPEAKER_00: Jack-O-Lanterns come from the Irish legend of Stingy Jack, a man doomed to wander the earth.
• 2:22
SPEAKER_00: Sounds like an in-law name for anyone that has a stingy Jack in their family.
• 2:26
  SPEAKER_00: My apologies.
• 2:29
SPEAKER_00: He was a man doomed to wander the earth with only a carved-out turnip to light his way.
• 2:34
SPEAKER_00: When Irish immigrants came to America, they replaced turnips with pumpkins, creating a symbol of illumination and protection during the dark season.
• 2:43
SPEAKER_00: Trick-or-treating originated as souling, where people offered prayers for the dead in exchange for small gifts or food.
• 2:51
SPEAKER_00: It was a practice of reciprocity and remembrance, connecting the living and the departed through community.
• 2:57
SPEAKER_00: Costumes were originally used for protection.
• 3:00
SPEAKER_00: They evolved into portals of soul expression.
• 3:04
SPEAKER_00: So when you dress up, you momentarily step into a new energetic archetype, maybe courage or mystery or wild playfulness.
• 3:13
SPEAKER_00: Bonfires were central to Sawin and later Halloween gatherings, and the fire symbolized the eternal spark of spirit protection, purification, and celebration all in one.
• 3:24
SPEAKER_00: Divination games were apple bombing and nut roasting.
• 3:29
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they weren't just random games.
• 3:30
SPEAKER_00: They were used for fortune telling and love divination.
• 3:33
SPEAKER_00: Even fun held spiritual purpose.
• 3:37
SPEAKER_00: So while Halloween was modernized, at its core, it is still an energetic festival of light and shadow connection and curiosity and transformation through play.
• 3:48
SPEAKER_00: As we move through the season of light and shadow, it's not just a time to reconnect with departed loved ones.
• 3:54
SPEAKER_00: It's also a time to reconnect with your own soul and the many costumes it's chosen across time.
• 4:02
SPEAKER_00: Now we're not going to dive into the proof of reincarnation today.
• 4:06
SPEAKER_00: That is a conversation for another episode, but I do want to talk about something you can feel even if you can't quite explain it.
• 4:12
SPEAKER_00: And that is the quiet recognition of having been many things before this lifetime.
• 4:19
SPEAKER_00: And I want you to think about each past life you've had as a costume your soul decided to wear for a little while.
• 4:26
SPEAKER_00: Each one gave you new experiences, new lessons, new perspectives to grow from.
• 4:31
SPEAKER_00: And there's the beautiful part is that Halloween gives us permission to wear one of those soul costumes again just for a day.
• 4:39
SPEAKER_00: We get to embody a spirit our soul already knows and loves, one that has shaped who you are right now.
• 4:48
SPEAKER_00: Because you see, our souls are eternal.
• 4:51
SPEAKER_00: They've lived countless lifetimes in different bodies and different cultures and different experiences, sometimes on this planet, sometimes on other planets, and sometimes we've been healers, leaders, artists, warriors, mystics, caregivers.
• 5:06
SPEAKER_00: Each version of us was real and each one left an energetic fingerprint that you still carry to this day.
• 5:16
SPEAKER_00: So whether you are drawn to a particular time period or skill or a place, it's just it's not random because these are breadcrumbs from your soul's past.
• 5:27
SPEAKER_00: So maybe you have always been inexplicably obsessed with ancient Egypt or the Renaissance or maybe the Celtic Isles.
• 5:37
SPEAKER_00: Maybe you've had vivid dreams or scenes from living in another era.
• 5:44
SPEAKER_00: Or maybe you walk into a place for the first time and feel this electric familiarity, like your spirit has already stood there before.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_00: And I know I personally experienced that when I traveled to Edinburgh, Scotland.
• 6:00
SPEAKER_00: There's been many places, but there was something about flying in and landing on the ground in Edinburgh, Scotland, and I felt like I was home.
• 6:10
SPEAKER_00: There was this remembrance, this knowing, this electric charged energy between me and the land there, me and that city there, that I could never explain in a million years.
• 6:23
SPEAKER_00: But those of you who have loved who have lived that and had that experience, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
• 6:31
SPEAKER_00: Because your soul has traveled all over the universe before this moment.
• 6:38
SPEAKER_00: And you hold these memories inside your energetic being.
• 6:43
SPEAKER_00: Your clear senses might be able to give you flashes of insight, right?
• 6:47
SPEAKER_00: You might be able to see visions inside your mind, hear words or phrases from past lifetimes, maybe this knowing or this feeling as well.
• 6:55
SPEAKER_00: You know, sometimes these past lives show up in dreams or flashes of memory when you meet somebody who feels instantly familiar to you.
• 7:04
SPEAKER_00: And it's that real deep I know you feeling that you have with some people, even though you've just met.
• 7:15
SPEAKER_00: These are echoes of recognition.
• 7:18
SPEAKER_00: This is your soul remembering another chapter it's already lived.
• 7:25
SPEAKER_00: So this Halloween, I'm gonna ask you to pay attention to those breadcrumbs.
• 7:29
SPEAKER_00: These are gentle nudges from your higher self saying, remember who you've been.
• 7:33
SPEAKER_00: You already know how to do this.
• 7:35
SPEAKER_00: So when something comes really easily to you, whether it's art or leadership or again, healing, or maybe public speaking, music, nurturing others, maybe you took a Reiki class and the energy flowed right through you.
• 7:47
SPEAKER_00: It's often because your soul has already mastered that skill in another lifetime.
• 7:52
SPEAKER_00: And this is what is so freaking cool about working in the metaphysical space is that you don't have to start from scratch.
• 7:59
SPEAKER_00: You are simply remembering what is already stored in your energetic DNA.
• 8:05
SPEAKER_00: And I think that's what makes this season so powerful.
• 8:08
SPEAKER_00: This veil is not thin just between the living and the departed, but between you now and then you that you have been before.
• 8:17
SPEAKER_00: And it's the perfect time to reconnect those energies and bring forward the parts of you that are wise, courageous, and whole.
• 8:28
SPEAKER_00: So let's talk about the fun part, the costumes.
• 8:31
SPEAKER_00: This year, instead of just picking one for fun, let's turn this into this spiritual experiment.
• 8:38
SPEAKER_00: When you choose a costume, I want you to imagine you're calling in one of your soul's former energies or trying on a frequency that your spirit wants to explore.
• 8:47
SPEAKER_00: You're not pretending to be somebody else.
• 8:49
SPEAKER_00: You're remembering a version of you that already exists.
• 8:51
SPEAKER_00: And here's how to play with it intentionally.
• 8:54
SPEAKER_00: So, number one is I want you to choose the energy that you want to embody.
• 8:59
SPEAKER_00: So ask yourself, what quality or energy do I need right now?
• 9:03
SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's courage, maybe it's playfulness, maybe it's patience, maybe it's wisdom.
• 9:08
SPEAKER_00: And use your intuition to guide you to the cur the right archetype.
• 9:15
SPEAKER_00: If you're not sure what that archetype is, you can ask your team to send you signs.
• 9:23
SPEAKER_00: Ask her to ask your team to send you dreams, visions, people talking about it, maybe posts on social media of a time, a place, uh, an animal, an energy.
• 9:35
SPEAKER_00: And when you see it, you're gonna know.
• 9:37
SPEAKER_00: When you feel it, you're gonna know.
• 9:38
SPEAKER_00: You're gonna get goosebumps, you're gonna like the truth tingles, as I like to call it.
• 9:42
SPEAKER_00: You're gonna have the sense of knowing, you're gonna have the sense of stop.
• 9:44
SPEAKER_00: If you want to use a pendulum to say, is this the right lifetime?
• 9:47
SPEAKER_00: Is this the right energy I need to call in?
• 9:49
SPEAKER_00: Is this the right archetype?
• 9:51
SPEAKER_00: You can use it that way too.
• 9:52
SPEAKER_00: Either way, identify what you what energy you want to embody and let your team guide you to the lifetime, the archetype that you need to embrace and bring in the energy of.
• 10:06
SPEAKER_00: And once you find that lifetime, that archetype, that energy, I want you to find a nice quiet space and do a ritual.
• 10:15
SPEAKER_00: I want you to light a candle.
• 10:16
SPEAKER_00: I want you to create a sacred space, and I want you to invite that beautiful archetype energy, that past life version of you coming in and surrounding you.
• 10:29
SPEAKER_00: If it helps, you can picture your past life self kind of stepping forward in your mind, offering you their strength, their grit, or their insight.
• 10:37
SPEAKER_00: You might feel it kind of come into your energy field through warmth, through a color, through a subtle inner knowing.
• 10:45
SPEAKER_00: And then I want you what I want you to do, maybe you don't experience any of these things, but know that it's happening.
• 10:51
SPEAKER_00: But either way, what I want you to do is take that energy and literally wear it as a costume.
• 10:58
SPEAKER_00: Wear that energy on your energy field and let it shift how you move, how you speak, how you feel.
• 11:06
SPEAKER_00: It's almost like this energetic rehearsal, this way for your nervous system to experience a whole new vibration in real time.
• 11:15
SPEAKER_00: And here's the fun part about this is it's not like it's new energy.
• 11:19
SPEAKER_00: It's gonna feel a little different, just like a new shirt or a new pair of underwear, everybody.
• 11:24
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 11:25
SPEAKER_00: Um, it's gonna feel a little different to begin with, but then it's gonna settle right into your energy because again, this energy has already been a part of you.
• 11:32
SPEAKER_00: It's just new for you in this lifetime, but it's not new for your energy or your soul.
• 11:38
SPEAKER_00: So it's gonna be a little discomfort and then it's gonna fit right in like you never knew you didn't have it.
• 11:44
SPEAKER_00: And so some examples maybe to inspire you are if you need confidence or leadership.
• 11:51
SPEAKER_00: Maybe your team sends you a lion or a warrior, maybe Athena, uh, maybe a beautiful powerful historical figure like Napoleon.
• 12:00
SPEAKER_00: I don't know why that was popping up, that you've always resonated with.
• 12:04
SPEAKER_00: And you're going to bring in their energy, their strength, and let it flow through you and shift your posture and shift your voice and shift your manner of speaking.
• 12:14
SPEAKER_00: If you need peace and balance, I mean, we're not just going off the rails, we're gonna go off the rails here.
• 12:19
  SPEAKER_00: Hang on.
• 12:20
SPEAKER_00: We're not just going into your past lives, but you can channel in like Mary Poppins' energy.
• 12:24
SPEAKER_00: What was a lifetime that you were just beautiful and grounded and graceful and calm amidst the chaos?
• 12:30
SPEAKER_00: Maybe you invite in the energy and essence of your grandmother or a beloved ancestor who embodied that steady love and patience.
• 12:38
SPEAKER_00: If you're burnt out, you can bring in the energy of you as a child, curious, unfiltered, playful.
• 12:47
SPEAKER_00: You can dress whimsically, right?
• 12:49
SPEAKER_00: You can laugh too loud, you can move without purpose, and you can use your own inner child energy into your aura to help you feel more seen and loved.
• 13:03
SPEAKER_00: If you are craving creativity or transformation, you can bring in an energy, a lifetime where you were a past witch, right?
• 13:11
SPEAKER_00: Where you were a past shaman, where maybe you had a lifetime on Atlantis or Lemuria as a mermaid, where you were a wonderful, you know, starving, I'm gonna say it, artist in Europe, right?
• 13:25
SPEAKER_00: Uh in the time of the Renaissance.
• 13:27
SPEAKER_00: Let your intuition and imagination lead you.
• 13:31
SPEAKER_00: And if you feel like you want to rise above the bullshit that is out there right now, channel in a lifetime where you were a pilot, where you were a bird, where you flew above it.
• 13:45
SPEAKER_00: Channel in the energy of a phoenix, this the eternal symbol of rebirth, and notice what parts of you feel ready to rise from the ashes.
• 13:54
SPEAKER_00: And remember, this doesn't have to be about the costume, right?
• 13:58
SPEAKER_00: It can, you can literally embody this energy through intention.
• 14:03
SPEAKER_00: So even if you're not physically putting on a phoenix costume, do they even sell those?
• 14:07
SPEAKER_00: That'd be amazing if they did.
• 14:08
SPEAKER_00: Um, you can call in the energetic vibration of these past lives, these ancestors, these archetypes that align with what your soul needs right now, and you're putting on this energy like it's its own jacket into your auric field and giving yourself permission to experiment with this energy, to try on different frequencies for a little while and see how it changes your reality.
• 14:33
SPEAKER_00: Because it's the most natural kind of magic there is rooted in remembrance, play, and embodiment, and you can't measure it and you can't see it, but boy, does it fucking change you.
• 14:43
SPEAKER_00: So this year, when you choose your energetic costume or just your intention, ask yourself, what energy does my soul want to remember?
• 14:53
SPEAKER_00: What part of me is ready to step forward again?
• 14:56
SPEAKER_00: And let this be this beautiful, joyful reunion between you and your current self, you and these deities that you've worked with in past lives, you and these archetypes, and let all of these beautiful versions of you that have been here before reignite in your energy field, reignite in your memories, in your uh in your frequency, in your vibration.
• 15:23
SPEAKER_00: Because you are not just one lifetime, you are many stories woven into your beautiful, radiant soul.
• 15:31
SPEAKER_00: And so as you celebrate Halloween this year, take a moment not just to honor your loved ones on the other side, but also many lifetimes your soul has danced through.
• 15:40
SPEAKER_00: Let your costume, your energy, your attention be a bridge between who you've been and who you're becoming and ask your guides what part of me wants to come alive tonight.
• 15:50
SPEAKER_00: And then let yourself play.
• 15:51
SPEAKER_00: You might find that the person or energy you've been searching for has been you all along.
• 15:57
SPEAKER_00: It's already been within you, and you just haven't allowed it the freedom to come out and express itself.
• 16:02
SPEAKER_00: And so that's what I'll be doing this Halloween is I will be putting on my energetic costume.
• 16:07
SPEAKER_00: I will be asking my guides to tell me what coat, what energy, what frequency I need to call in and weave into my story this lifetime.
• 16:18
SPEAKER_00: And I'd love to hear how it goes for you, and I'll let you know how it goes for me.
• 16:22
SPEAKER_00: So thank you so much for joining me on the Unity Code today.
• 16:26
SPEAKER_00: We are going to do a little bit of an energetic costume experiment in our live session this week.
• 16:31
SPEAKER_00: So please come and join me.
• 16:32
SPEAKER_00: I would love to see you there.
• 16:33
SPEAKER_00: If you're not sure how to access that, go out to my website, mediumnicole.com, click on podcast, and you can join our Unity Collective right there and meet with me and see me and talk with me and ask me questions, and I'd love to see you there.
• 16:49
