- 0:09Speaker 1: Advice. It's time. Hello, welcome to the Naughty Nisha. I'm
- 0:17Speaker 1: your heads stop shooter, and it is Thuday morning every Thursday.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Who do we have joining us Our dear friend Mark Lupo, Hey,
- 0:25Speaker 1: LUPI are you there? Luy lewis here? Hello, raup Hey.
- 0:29Speaker 1: So we have a big thank you for today. Our
- 0:32Speaker 1: show almost didn't happen Mark, because I dropped a cup
- 0:37Speaker 1: of coffee on my computer and so I had to
- 0:42Speaker 1: run to the Apple Store where I didn't have an appointment.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Trying to get an appointment with the Genius Bar. You
- 0:48Speaker 1: need to be a genius, like it's really hard to
- 0:50Speaker 1: figure out how to get this appointment. So I was
- 0:53Speaker 1: quite dramatic in the lobby on fourteenth Street, and eventually
- 0:57Speaker 1: I said, I'm not leaving until this an appointment. I'm
- 0:59Speaker 1: not going to leave. And so I sat down in
- 1:02Speaker 1: the lobby with a face on me and somebody recognized me.
- 1:05Speaker 1: They're like, are you that? Are you robtured are? And
- 1:07Speaker 1: I said, yes, I am. I got an appointment. So
- 1:10Speaker 1: then I went upstairs and I've got to give them
- 1:12Speaker 1: a shout out. Jason Handsome. Jason fixed my computer and
- 1:17Speaker 1: hence we can have more naughty but nice. Jason, if
- 1:21Speaker 1: you're listening, Hella Loo loo, thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 1:23Speaker 1: It's amazing. Mark When you go into stores like that,
- 1:26Speaker 1: you're in a state of panic. It's not like going
- 1:28Speaker 1: to the coffee shop or to buy a bagel or
- 1:31Speaker 1: a muffin. Everybody in the store is a little bit
- 1:34Speaker 1: on edge, and the staff are trained to help them
- 1:38Speaker 1: without getting them more excitable. Have you ever had to
- 1:41Speaker 1: rush into the Apple store.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I've come in there like a hurricane several times.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I'm so crazy.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yeah, they are very sweet and they're very helpful, and
- 1:50Speaker 2: I'm glad that we've resolved the issue.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Yes, today, I was a nice guy from the moment
- 1:55Speaker 1: I arrived, though, and I sometimes am not, but I was.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I was like, I was quite relaxed. I don't know
- 2:01Speaker 1: why I felt so relaxed. Normally I panic at things
- 2:04Speaker 1: like that. But thank you, thank you, thank you. Let's
- 2:05Speaker 1: jump into the show. What time is it, my friends?
- 2:07Speaker 1: It is tea time talking about panicking. Megan Markle's trademark
- 2:11Speaker 1: application for American Riviera Orchard terrible name has been rejected.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Let me explain. So, the US Pattern and Trademark Office
- 2:20Speaker 1: have rejected her application. They ruled that the business cannot
- 2:25Speaker 1: be trademark because it's a geographical location, something that she
- 2:30Speaker 1: doesn't own, it exists. The decision is quite a blow
- 2:35Speaker 1: to the brand. So the name American Riviera, that's a
- 2:39Speaker 1: nod to Santa Barbara in California, or it's lovelier and
- 2:43Speaker 1: they live there. She lives there with Harry and her
- 2:45Speaker 1: two children. However, the US Pattern and Trademark Office stated
- 2:51Speaker 1: that adding the word orchard did not change the fact
- 2:56Speaker 1: that the name is primarily a geographic call location and
- 3:02Speaker 1: so American anything with the word American in it cannot
- 3:06Speaker 1: be trademarked because it's a country. I mean, we've got
- 3:09Speaker 1: to remove it from my passports? Have we got to
- 3:11Speaker 1: remove it from the maps because you own the trademark
- 3:14Speaker 1: to it. So once again I think Mark, I don't
- 3:17Speaker 1: know if this is Megan or the team around her. Ultimately,
- 3:20Speaker 1: she's ultimate responsible for that. She hired these people. I
- 3:24Speaker 1: just wish they had better people around them. Anybody that
- 3:27Speaker 1: knows trademarks. I'm not an expert in this, but I
- 3:29Speaker 1: know them a little bit. You cannot trademark an area.
- 3:33Speaker 1: I can't trademark United Kingdom. You can't trademark Florida. It's
- 3:38Speaker 1: a location, it's not yours.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Right, And so that's the same question I have as
- 3:44Speaker 2: who was running the show and this idea first came
- 3:47Speaker 2: to be, didn't someone wonder, hey, could this be possibly
- 3:51Speaker 2: an issue here? Can we actually trademark this? And so I,
- 3:54Speaker 2: you know, I imagine that starting from day one, they
- 3:56Speaker 2: had the wrong team, someone didn't have a long term vision.
- 4:00Speaker 2: They focused on the wrong things. They had the name
- 4:02Speaker 2: the splashy you know, launch that never really launched, And
- 4:06Speaker 2: now here we are, you know, six months later, and
- 4:08Speaker 2: nothing has moved forward.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It's bad nothing. They can't trademark it. Now. Her options
- 4:13Speaker 1: are she could move forward without the trademark, but then
- 4:16Speaker 1: anybody else could name their company the same company as hers.
- 4:19Speaker 1: She could really rebrand and change the name. But she's
- 4:22Speaker 1: got to reprint all those labels for that strawberry jam
- 4:26Speaker 1: that we've not seen yet. I predicted a month ago.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I spoke to my sources and they said, they don't
- 4:33Speaker 1: think this is actually ever going to happen. That to
- 4:36Speaker 1: get a product from your kitchen to a store shelf
- 4:41Speaker 1: has a lot of different lanes. It has to go
- 4:44Speaker 1: through and along the way it can stop. And already
- 4:48Speaker 1: we're not even out of the gate chet Mark and
- 4:50Speaker 1: this has been stopped. Megan, Harry, you do have a
- 4:54Speaker 1: lot of money. Harry just inherited a ton of money
- 4:57Speaker 1: from Britain. Get good people around you. I have to
- 5:00Speaker 1: be an expert in everything. You don't. I don't know
- 5:02Speaker 1: anything really about technical aspects. I'm a great host, I
- 5:07Speaker 1: know gossip, but I had to run to the Apple
- 5:09Speaker 1: Store and Jason save the day. Meghan and Harry need
- 5:13Speaker 1: a Jason. They need a genius.
- 5:15Speaker 2: They need a genius. And I think it goes to
- 5:17Speaker 2: also the idea that I don't know that the public
- 5:20Speaker 2: knows Meghan as a lifestyle influencer. I know she has
- 5:23Speaker 2: the blog at one point, the Tig and then she
- 5:26Speaker 2: you know, the general public knows her either from suits
- 5:28Speaker 2: or as a royal. So I think the challenge too,
- 5:31Speaker 2: beyond this launching this brand is why do we care?
- 5:33Speaker 2: Why do I want to buy Megan Markle's egg geter.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I don't think I want.
- 5:37Speaker 2: To spend a premium price when I could get a
- 5:40Speaker 2: you know, kmor for ten bucks.
- 5:41Speaker 1: And so totally it seems that she's jumped into a
- 5:44Speaker 1: brand that doesn't fit with her. If she sold suitcases
- 5:48Speaker 1: because of deal or no deals that I would totally
- 5:52Speaker 1: buy a mega Markle suitcase. It would be so funny.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Or if she sold me a Duchess Tiara, I'd buy that.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I think that'd be really campy Halloween to her the
- 6:03Speaker 1: Duchess's Tiara. But I don't really want to pot a
- 6:05Speaker 1: jam from her. I want it from Arthur Stuart. I
- 6:07Speaker 1: want it from Rachel Ray. I wanted it from Bobby Flay,
- 6:10Speaker 1: from somebody that I know. I think this whole thing
- 6:13Speaker 1: is so misguided. And now we have another obstacle, or
- 6:17Speaker 1: one that she's probably not going to get around. Money
- 6:20Speaker 1: can buy a lot in America. But once she'd been
- 6:22Speaker 1: told no by the pattern authority, there's no way there's
- 6:26Speaker 1: a trademark, you are not going to get it. So
- 6:29Speaker 1: this brings us to our whole question of the day
- 6:33Speaker 1: they can Marcus trademark application, and let's remember this is
- 6:37Speaker 1: not day one. They've been doing this for a year
- 6:42Speaker 1: a year mark and suddenly before they launched, they decide
- 6:45Speaker 1: they're going to trademarket. Well it is being rejected. Our
- 6:49Speaker 1: question is do these two need a new team around them?
- 6:54Speaker 1: Do they need new advisors, not yes people, not people
- 6:57Speaker 1: who are going to nod and agree. Do they need
- 7:00Speaker 1: some good smart people aroundom? What do you think? Hey?
- 7:04Speaker 1: Go vote on that Twitter page at Naughty Nice Rob
- 7:06Speaker 1: her Facebook pages Naughty gossiap and be sure to check
- 7:10Speaker 1: that tomorrow to hear your results. Hey, Loopy, where do
- 7:13Speaker 1: you work? You know, I'm.
- 7:15Speaker 2: So curious to hear your thoughts on the story. So
- 7:17Speaker 2: Jennifer Lopez is looking to remake her image as she
- 7:20Speaker 2: moves on from Ben Affick.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Of course she is. Of course she is. Let me explain.
- 7:25Speaker 2: So Jennifer Lopez is ready for a fresh start following
- 7:28Speaker 2: her split from Ben Affleck, and she's looking to reshape
- 7:30Speaker 2: her public image as she moves forward now. According to
- 7:33Speaker 2: sources who spoke with Page six, Lopez is actively working
- 7:36Speaker 2: to make over her image in the week of a divorce,
- 7:39Speaker 2: and that over the weekend, Lopez shared a series of
- 7:42Speaker 2: Instagram photos from her summer in the Hampton's showcasing her
- 7:45Speaker 2: single life and to that end of Lopez's openness to
- 7:49Speaker 2: fresh perspective, sources are saying jen needs advice from some
- 7:52Speaker 2: new people to add a new layer and get some
- 7:55Speaker 2: new suggestions. A lot of new news here.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Oh JENNI. My sources tell me she's already working on
- 8:02Speaker 1: a new album that's going to be about overcoming heartbreaks.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Is this one's again? She doesn't, She hasn't let a
- 8:08Speaker 1: lesson here. The album with them, the Greatest Love Story
- 8:11Speaker 1: Never Never told, nobody listened to, and nobody, nobody bought it,
- 8:15Speaker 1: And so I don't think that that's something we care about.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Put out some great dance songs. Don't make it so
- 8:20Speaker 1: personal waiting for Tonight or get loud. It's about nothing.
- 8:23Speaker 1: It's not so personal, Jennifer. I know what you're doing here,
- 8:26Speaker 1: and I gotta admit I'm not surprised about this. This
- 8:29Speaker 1: is who Jennifer is being. J Lo is her full
- 8:31Speaker 1: time job. It's her number one priority, and why a
- 8:35Speaker 1: waste what she considers a great opportunity. I'm predicting there'll
- 8:39Speaker 1: be a crimea river type breakup song.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Woo.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I predict they'll be a I will Survive Glory again
- 8:46Speaker 1: them type anthem. I can see her re recording that.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I don't think people care about that anymore. We want
- 8:54Speaker 1: a good dance song from Jlo. It's also two and
- 8:57Speaker 1: we hear about this in life, don't you. You gotta
- 8:59Speaker 1: read vent yourself. You got to reinvent yourself. Certain there's
- 9:03Speaker 1: aspects of that that are true, but I always say
- 9:05Speaker 1: to myself, I've got to change the emphasis. But I've
- 9:07Speaker 1: got to ultimately be who I am. I can't suddenly
- 9:10Speaker 1: wake up tomorrow, Mark and decide I'm going to be
- 9:13Speaker 1: in one direction and dye my hair blonde. And because
- 9:16Speaker 1: it's just not who I am. You gotta be honest
- 9:19Speaker 1: with yourself. I can't wake up and want to be
- 9:23Speaker 1: Jimmy Fallon. It's just not who I am. I'm not
- 9:25Speaker 1: that funny. I don't do impersonations. I'm never gonna be Jimmy.
- 9:30Speaker 1: But I could be a robshooter who had a late
- 9:32Speaker 1: night show if I wanted to. And so this reinvention
- 9:35Speaker 1: makes me nervous. My advice would be, figure out who
- 9:39Speaker 1: you are in your core, and let's be honest. That's Jayler,
- 9:43Speaker 1: that's who you are. Be that person, the jailer at
- 9:47Speaker 1: the Super Bowl, spangly outfit, that strip, a pole, those
- 9:53Speaker 1: fair that's what we want, Mark.
- 9:55Speaker 2: We really do. And you know I want to see
- 9:58Speaker 2: her now. You know Remeny, he are one of her
- 10:00Speaker 2: best friends is also just announced she's the end divorce,
- 10:03Speaker 2: and I think to that idea of reinvention, go out
- 10:05Speaker 2: and have a girl's you know, a week year girls
- 10:08Speaker 2: something adventure and just have fun and be single and
- 10:11Speaker 2: just enjoy life and don't worry about the guys, and
- 10:13Speaker 2: don't worry about the press for us. Just have fun
- 10:15Speaker 2: and enjoy your life.
- 10:16Speaker 1: J Love, You're right, I don't think she can do
- 10:19Speaker 1: it more. I know her. I just don't think she's
- 10:22Speaker 1: that person. It's too sad with all that power and
- 10:25Speaker 1: all that money. Can you imagine the life you and
- 10:28Speaker 1: b would have Mark, if I was Jlo Rich, we'd
- 10:30Speaker 1: be just traveling the world and we're going to fabulous
- 10:34Speaker 1: parties and going to have great dinners. And I just
- 10:38Speaker 1: I'd never work again. Same here, I'd never work again. Okay,
- 10:43Speaker 1: moving a long. This story makes me a little bit
- 10:45Speaker 1: mad because Rachel Ray has always been very kind to me.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Rachel Ray was one of the first shows I was
- 10:49Speaker 1: ever on. She's no longer got her talk show, her
- 10:52Speaker 1: cooking show every day on the on the network, and
- 10:55Speaker 1: now she's going to sort of do a new show,
- 10:59Speaker 1: I think at a stream show. However, gearing up to
- 11:02Speaker 1: that she put out a video and it doesn't look great,
- 11:06Speaker 1: and she appears to be slurring a little bit. In
- 11:09Speaker 1: the video, she tells an adorable story about Tony Bennett,
- 11:12Speaker 1: but nobody's talking about that. What they're talking about is
- 11:15Speaker 1: the way she looked and what she sounded like. We're
- 11:18Speaker 1: allowed to grow older. Rachel has not been on TV
- 11:23Speaker 1: now for a year or so. She may have put
- 11:25Speaker 1: on a little way. She may not, I don't know,
- 11:28Speaker 1: but she doesn't look as polished as she did when
- 11:30Speaker 1: she was doing her talk show in a professional studio
- 11:34Speaker 1: with lights and cameras and hair and makeup. When I
- 11:37Speaker 1: went to the Rachel ratio, Mark, it was top of
- 11:40Speaker 1: the line. It was one of those shows that even
- 11:42Speaker 1: if you didn't like it, you had to admit the
- 11:44Speaker 1: production quality was fantastic. It was like going on Kelly Ripper.
- 11:48Speaker 1: It was like going on the View. It was that good.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Filming in your own kitchen, even if your kitchen is
- 11:53Speaker 1: Rachel Ray's, you don't quite look the same. I've started
- 11:56Speaker 1: doing these tiktoks. Mark. I'm not that good at it,
- 11:59Speaker 1: but I want to learn how to do it. You
- 12:01Speaker 1: said she'd give me some help and some tips, some
- 12:03Speaker 1: starting but I'm just doing them in my living room,
- 12:05Speaker 1: and I can't possibly look as good as I do
- 12:08Speaker 1: when I'm on Good Day New York or the Today Show.
- 12:10Speaker 1: But you just got to live with it. I feel
- 12:12Speaker 1: bad for Rachel here. I leave her alone.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Leave her alone us, right, And I agree, Rob, When
- 12:16Speaker 2: you have an appearance on a TV show, we have
- 12:18Speaker 2: the best hair and makeup people possible, and they can
- 12:20Speaker 2: really do wonders with foundation and other tricks and the
- 12:24Speaker 2: lighting too. And you know, Rachel has been a staple
- 12:27Speaker 2: in our lives for decades, and so you know, it
- 12:30Speaker 2: makes me sad to see the comments and the criticism
- 12:33Speaker 2: because we don't actually know what's going on with her.
- 12:35Speaker 2: She could just be fine, or maybe there's something more serious,
- 12:38Speaker 2: but she hasn't shared that, and I don't think it's
- 12:39Speaker 2: our place to speculate it.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with you. It made me sad, and
- 12:44Speaker 1: I know her. She's going to read these comments. She
- 12:47Speaker 1: didn't just post a video and walked away. She's going
- 12:49Speaker 1: to look at it. And I think she expected us
- 12:51Speaker 1: all to be talking about this really adorable story with
- 12:53Speaker 1: her friend Tony Bennetts, someone she admired, someone she'd respected
- 12:57Speaker 1: and we're talking about Rachel's. Wait, we don't do this
- 13:00Speaker 1: with men. Let me just point that out to I
- 13:02Speaker 1: know a lot of guys on TV who've put on
- 13:05Speaker 1: a pound or two. You know who I'm talking about.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I see, I see, and CON's way goes up and down.
- 13:14Speaker 1: We never talk about that. Rachel took a year off,
- 13:18Speaker 1: enjoyed some pastor and a piece of pie, and now
- 13:21Speaker 1: we've all gone mental. Leave her alone? Okay, another star
- 13:25Speaker 1: or an aging star? Mark? I love you Melton johnas
- 13:28Speaker 1: quite a revelation. What what is he revealing?
- 13:31Speaker 2: I love Elton so. Elton John is facing a serious
- 13:34Speaker 2: health challenge, revealing that a severe eye infection over the
- 13:37Speaker 2: summer has left him with limited vision in one eye.
- 13:41Speaker 2: It's the seventy seven year old music legend shared the
- 13:43Speaker 2: news and a heartfelt statement on Instagram. He said, over
- 13:46Speaker 2: the summer, I've been dealing with a severe eye infection
- 13:49Speaker 2: that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in
- 13:51Speaker 2: one eye. I'm healing, but it's extremely slow process and
- 13:55Speaker 2: I'm going to take some time before I'll be able
- 13:57Speaker 2: to have vision back and my impacted and he did
- 14:01Speaker 2: express thanks to the medical staff and also to his
- 14:04Speaker 2: husband and his two kids, Zachary and Elijah, who are
- 14:06Speaker 2: thirteen and eleven. You know, rabits. I saw his final
- 14:10Speaker 2: show in New York a few years ago and I
- 14:12Speaker 2: was like, wow, is this really is? Is Elton's last time?
- 14:15Speaker 2: Because he's still feels so youthful and so later he lived.
- 14:19Speaker 1: He's fabulous, He's fabulous. This is it Mark My Elton
- 14:21Speaker 1: sources tell me he has retired now, and it's not
- 14:24Speaker 1: just health. It's those two little boys. He wants to
- 14:27Speaker 1: be around them while they're growing up. He's missed so
- 14:29Speaker 1: much of their lives being on the road. And he's
- 14:31Speaker 1: a great, great dad. He's an amazing, amazing artist, and
- 14:34Speaker 1: we'll always have that fabulous music. Okay, quickly before we
- 14:37Speaker 1: go to break. ABC is being slammed for force in
- 14:41Speaker 1: the Bachelorette to watch her proposal after he dumped us
- 14:46Speaker 1: on live TV. Market was my head exploded so a
- 14:50Speaker 1: live TV he proposed to her, and then within like
- 14:54Speaker 1: twenty four hours he dumped her and they had them
- 14:57Speaker 1: back on the show. Now, everybody can't down here. They
- 15:01Speaker 1: both were paid a lot of money to do this.
- 15:03Speaker 1: It's in their contracts. If this was me and Market
- 15:05Speaker 1: Bottinoz and I pulled out a video of one of
- 15:08Speaker 1: your exes or even somebody that you liked saying something
- 15:11Speaker 1: not kind. I would be a fool. That's not a
- 15:14Speaker 1: nice thing to do. But this is all part of
- 15:16Speaker 1: the gig. Here. My inside has telling me she's actually
- 15:19Speaker 1: fine if this. This happened months ago too, So even
- 15:22Speaker 1: though the reunion show aired a couple of nights ago,
- 15:25Speaker 1: the actual filming of this, the proposal was months ago,
- 15:29Speaker 1: and she's okay.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I think fans are super dramatic about this. They're are outrage,
- 15:32Speaker 2: but I don't see a problem with this. You sign
- 15:34Speaker 2: up for reality show. You asked for this kind of attention.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I think people who go on these shows are kind
- 15:38Speaker 2: of less and smart, and here you are, you know,
- 15:40Speaker 2: crying on TV. It's going to be on you know,
- 15:42Speaker 2: the internet forever and hopefully, you know, life will continue
- 15:46Speaker 2: it in a more positive way.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I hope so too. Yeah, don't be fool. Don't be
- 15:49Speaker 1: manipulated by these reality shows. It's like people who get
- 15:52Speaker 1: too passionate about the Housewives after taping. I remember being
- 15:56Speaker 1: on an episode of the Housewives and we taped it.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, there was greaing at each other and
- 16:00Speaker 1: being so nasty and vile. And then once the cameras
- 16:03Speaker 1: went off and we turned the micro's off, we all
- 16:04Speaker 1: sat down and had a drink like it was just
- 16:06Speaker 1: like active, it's not real. Okay, We're going to take
- 16:10Speaker 1: a quick break and we will be right back, come
- 16:14Speaker 1: back to naughty, be nice. I'm your host Shuder with
- 16:16Speaker 1: our dear friend Mark Lupo HELUPI. Let's get to the
- 16:18Speaker 1: polls that are done La Share. We talked about Brad
- 16:21Speaker 1: Pitt is ready for kids with his new girlfriend inz
- 16:25Speaker 1: Di Roma. I like that name. They've been dating for
- 16:28Speaker 1: two years though she's in her thirties. He's just turned sixty.
