- 1:07Speaker 2: We stopped that ten years ago.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, So coming, my first name
- 1:11Speaker 1: Ad is here. Thank you sir, welcome, congrats on the
- 1:13Speaker 1: new project. Thank you. Uh. I don't want to I
- 1:17Speaker 1: know you guys kicked the album off with like a
- 1:20Speaker 1: vibe instrumental that's kind of like, what what is the
- 1:24Speaker 1: name of this fucking album? I don't want to miss?
- 1:26Speaker 2: Album is called Orange and it means orange in Korean
- 1:29Speaker 2: and Japanese because we made most of the record in
- 1:32Speaker 2: Tokyo and soul Fire.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Why why why? Like, I guess what was the the inspirations?
- 1:42Speaker 1: What was the inspiration to do the whole project out there?
- 1:45Speaker 2: I mean truthfully, like we just grew up on Japanese
- 1:48Speaker 2: street culture, anime, babe, my bad, yeah, I mean, babe,
- 1:55Speaker 2: all the shit that happened in the two thousand and farrow,
- 1:58Speaker 2: but Korea embraced.
- 1:59Speaker 1: The lot of our music.
- 2:01Speaker 2: So for whatever reason, the shit went crazy out there
- 2:03Speaker 2: in twenty twenty right as a pandemic hit. And I
- 2:07Speaker 2: think we're the point in our careers where like you
- 2:09Speaker 2: want to give love to people that are giving it
- 2:11Speaker 2: to Sure, So the Tokyo thing was just like innately,
- 2:15Speaker 2: I've been wanting to make records there since I was young,
- 2:18Speaker 2: and I think Korea it was like more of an
- 2:20Speaker 2: evolved learned love if you will.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Yeah, Korea is such an interesting market because like the
- 2:25Speaker 1: fans are like fans, like they like, you know, even
- 2:28Speaker 1: Tokyo's like that my friends in a group will the
- 2:31Speaker 1: group broke up. There's a group out there called bad
- 2:32Speaker 1: Hop that's like they sold out the Tokyo Dome. Huge group.
- 2:37Speaker 1: But my boy Vingo, they were telling me, just like
- 2:39Speaker 1: the fans out there, they'll buy everything everything if you
- 2:43Speaker 1: got lansols, Like he was showing me some of the
- 2:46Speaker 1: product lines that they're gonna drop and I'm like, really,
- 2:50Speaker 1: like they're buying it. He's like, dude, it's like you
- 2:52Speaker 1: got it. Like the fans in Asia will show up
- 2:55Speaker 1: with their you know, with their with their wallet and
- 2:58Speaker 1: like support for real. Absolutely So yeah, no, that's dope.
- 3:01Speaker 1: But it's like when you guys are in uh, I know,
- 3:03Speaker 1: you told me you have a show coming up in Korea.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Yeah, so we're doing a little like many Asia run.
- 3:08Speaker 2: We're playing Green Room Festival in Tokyo this weekend on Saturday,
- 3:13Speaker 2: May twenty fourth.
- 3:14Speaker 1: We're kind of like low.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Ki better fly there soon, shit, right, you jump a
- 3:18Speaker 2: whole day ahead. We're going to Shang High for the
- 3:20Speaker 2: first time, never been in China. Some juice stuff for that. Yeah,
- 3:22Speaker 2: and then we got like a low key, like little
- 3:25Speaker 2: co headline slot at Soul Jazz Fest, playing Castpo Dumb,
- 3:29Speaker 2: which is like the biggest stadium out there.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I'm excited. I mean, I'm more juiced up for the
- 3:36Speaker 2: live band. We can't afford it obviously for these like
- 3:38Speaker 2: one offs, right, but we're putting together like a four
- 3:40Speaker 2: piece for the fall, doing two palladiums in LA, So
- 3:43Speaker 2: you better pull up.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that's big, that's dope, that's huge. Yeah. I don't
- 3:50Speaker 1: know anybody who's done back to back palladium shows really.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Usually it's like a one off. Nipsey did one, Roddy
- 3:55Speaker 1: did one. I think Blast might have did too.
- 3:58Speaker 2: He might have blue the first one out and then
- 4:00Speaker 2: the second one.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Was it might have been like, shit, we need to
- 4:03Speaker 1: do another one.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Far Look we did. We saw that palladium in twenty
- 4:06Speaker 2: twenty three. Yeah, but as you know, like the jump
- 4:09Speaker 2: from Palladium so like and the Greek's not the right
- 4:11Speaker 2: venue for us.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's almost like the Palladium, like like you said,
- 4:15Speaker 1: the next jump up is like is it Hollywood Bowl?
- 4:19Speaker 1: Is it Staple Staples? Yeah? Yeah, which is it?
- 4:22Speaker 2: You know, that'd be a dream for sure. Being an
- 4:24Speaker 2: LA native, I refuse to call it crypto, but yeah.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I wonder how long they're going to go with the
- 4:30Speaker 1: crypt I guess as long as crypto. I always thought
- 4:32Speaker 1: I thought Crypto was dying and then you know, they
- 4:35Speaker 1: popped back up this last you know, six months. Yo.
- 4:39Speaker 1: So how how did you and you know your your
- 4:42Speaker 1: your member in this group meet because I know you
- 4:45Speaker 1: as a rapper from back in the day, the blog era. Yeah,
- 4:49Speaker 1: I feel like I might have found you on Too
- 4:51Speaker 1: Dope probably boys. Yeah, I don't even know if you
- 4:55Speaker 1: were on two Dope bois yet honestly, maybe really, I
- 4:58Speaker 1: don't know. I think you might have reached out me
- 5:00Speaker 1: on Twitter or something. I don't know. Yeah, you had
- 5:03Speaker 1: a song Spiderweb Spider Webs, which was like a no
- 5:06Speaker 1: doubt flip cold Play cold Play flip. Okay, okay, okay,
- 5:10Speaker 1: yeah shit you got a good memory. Yeah, it's a
- 5:13Speaker 1: long time ago, but uh, you know, obviously you've had
- 5:16Speaker 1: a long journey throughout the music industry. You also were
- 5:18Speaker 1: doing some behind the scenes stuff. Yeah.
- 5:20Speaker 2: So I signed a bad production deal, and like, I
- 5:23Speaker 2: don't want to say bad production deal because the people
- 5:25Speaker 2: were genuinely good people, but we wanted different things and
- 5:29Speaker 2: and they were kind of at the cusp of like
- 5:31Speaker 2: the old guard needing radio so on and so forth.
- 5:35Speaker 2: I opened up for people like dot Q, most Deaf.
- 5:38Speaker 2: I got some really good slots before we signed that
- 5:41Speaker 2: like that deal, and you know, for better or for worse,
- 5:44Speaker 2: it didn't work out. But I got to learn how
- 5:46Speaker 2: to do everything else, Like, oh shit, okay, if they're
- 5:48Speaker 2: not going to send my records to radio, let me
- 5:51Speaker 2: hit the people that are putting young artists on.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Let me hit people like Eske and Nation and not
- 5:56Speaker 1: right man, Yes, sir, you know, so yeah, long, what
- 6:02Speaker 1: was your question I was saying, I don't think. I
- 6:04Speaker 1: think I was kind of just laying out your your history.
- 6:07Speaker 1: You had a long history because you went from being
- 6:09Speaker 1: an artist and then you were then you started doing
- 6:11Speaker 1: a lot of behind the scenes shit too.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Yep, executive producing A and r Ing. I got to
- 6:17Speaker 2: learn a lot, and I think one of the main
- 6:18Speaker 2: things I learned is like that fire to make my
- 6:21Speaker 2: own stuff was never going to be you know, quenched
- 6:24Speaker 2: or whatever.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Right helping other artists to being behind the scenes. Yeah,
- 6:27Speaker 1: it's like yea, you you're an artist, so you have
- 6:29Speaker 1: a niche.
- 6:29Speaker 2: You kept making shit right, you know. So even though,
- 6:32Speaker 2: like all due respect to Zoo, took a lot today,
- 6:36Speaker 2: Dante is one of my best friends, the creator of
- 6:38Speaker 2: the and the producer, one of the one half of
- 6:40Speaker 2: the group. He actually helped produce on a rengie what Energi?
- 6:46Speaker 2: So yeah, we we had a good run over at
- 6:49Speaker 2: the Mind of Virginia's camp that was like twenty fifteen
- 6:51Speaker 2: to twenty eighteen, and then I got back in my like,
- 6:55Speaker 2: you know, my own bag, my own artist.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Shit, what is uh? I guess the the genesis of
- 7:01Speaker 1: this group? When do you guys decide to do this?
- 7:03Speaker 1: Because it is initially you guys were very like secretive
- 7:06Speaker 1: about your identities. I feel like, yeah, it was very
- 7:09Speaker 1: much like what is this emotional oranges? Shit? What the
- 7:12Speaker 1: fuck is in the most orange? No?
- 7:14Speaker 2: And at the end of twenty fifteen, I started making
- 7:17Speaker 2: demos for EO, and it was basically the entire my
- 7:22Speaker 2: whole singing bag, like the funkier R and B productions
- 7:26Speaker 2: I kind of separated from, like all the AZAD stuff
- 7:28Speaker 2: was Okay, I'm rapping, rapping, struggle rapping, whatever it was.
- 7:32Speaker 2: And then the stuff that was more melodic became EO.
- 7:34Speaker 2: And from twenty fifteen to twenty eighteen, I made like
- 7:37Speaker 2: thirty or forty ideas. Me and my boy Will, my roommate,
- 7:42Speaker 2: and my best friend was dating Valley, and so Valley's
- 7:46Speaker 2: the other half of Emotional Oranges, and she was signed
- 7:48Speaker 2: to I think Benji at Rostrom. Okay, so she had
- 7:51Speaker 2: done shit with like Mac and Wiz and everything like that,
- 7:53Speaker 2: but I think they were trying to maybe turn her
- 7:57Speaker 2: into more of kind of that pop direction, right, and
- 8:01Speaker 2: we really just vibed, Like we wrote our first record
- 8:03Speaker 2: together in thirty minutes. She had kind of heard like
- 8:06Speaker 2: the work that I'd made for EO, and and we
- 8:10Speaker 2: put out Volume one together. So if she jumped on
- 8:13Speaker 2: the first song we put out, motion wasn't featuring her,
- 8:16Speaker 2: and then everything after that we did together. So yeah,
- 8:20Speaker 2: I mean it's been an honor, like she's like the
- 8:21Speaker 2: perfect yin to my yang, I'm more kind of calm
- 8:24Speaker 2: collected on stage.
- 8:25Speaker 1: She's really an incredible performer.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and then I would say, I'm, you know, my
- 8:29Speaker 2: strong suit is more like in the studio, the creative shit.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Yeah, what would you because because the vibe of emotional
- 8:38Speaker 1: Oranges is so like I would say, unique compared to
- 8:42Speaker 1: like a lot of other stuff in the marketplace, how
- 8:44Speaker 1: would you guys describe I guess the the concoction of
- 8:49Speaker 1: genres that is emotional oranges. It's good question, keV.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I would say, like my my north Stars would be
- 8:56Speaker 2: like Shahda Gorillas and Daft Punk. Okay, Like in terms
- 9:00Speaker 2: of the R and B shit, I love Basement Era,
- 9:04Speaker 2: you know, Devonte Swing. And then the three females tone
- 9:08Speaker 2: wise that I love were like Janet, Aliyah and Uh
- 9:12Speaker 2: and obviously Shade. So finding that sultry, you know, elegant
- 9:17Speaker 2: gentle voice was always like my that's what I gravitate too, Right,
- 9:21Speaker 2: So I think meeting Valley has been like the perfect concoction.
- 9:24Speaker 1: For sure. It's like a great marriage of science. You
- 9:29Speaker 1: obviously you were able to kind of go through like
- 9:32Speaker 1: as much of like an industry boot camp as you
- 9:35Speaker 1: could to prepare yourself. I guess maybe without knowing for
- 9:38Speaker 1: this emotional Orange ad venture. What was it about what
- 9:41Speaker 1: you guys did from just the artist to consumer, you know,
- 9:49Speaker 1: relationship that resulted in the success you had with connecting
- 9:55Speaker 1: with fans in a way that you weren't able to
- 9:57Speaker 1: do maybe as a odd right.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Right, Nah, that's a great question. I think you know
- 10:05Speaker 2: you get what you give, and I think I learned
- 10:07Speaker 2: that the hard way. On all the Azad stuff, I
- 10:10Speaker 2: didn't really I wasn't self aware. I couldn't like step
- 10:13Speaker 2: out of myself and look at it like a project, right,
- 10:16Speaker 2: Everything was so personal, and I think with EO, I'm like,
- 10:19Speaker 2: I'm working on a project and so I'm able to
- 10:21Speaker 2: look at it like I'm making shit that I love,
- 10:23Speaker 2: but at the end of the day, like what I
- 10:25Speaker 2: want to wear that, what I want to use that
- 10:27Speaker 2: candle at the crib? Is this vinyl something that when
- 10:30Speaker 2: I step into a shop that I'd want to cop
- 10:32Speaker 2: and not just put so much of myself into it
- 10:34Speaker 2: in the sense of like that I can't step away
- 10:36Speaker 2: and view it from the outside in. That was my
- 10:39Speaker 2: biggest issue.
- 10:40Speaker 1: As an artist, right.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I felt like I was I was doing a lot
- 10:42Speaker 2: of things.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Just for myself selfishly and not thinking about the fans
- 10:46Speaker 1: experience or like the consumer.
- 10:50Speaker 2: You know, when you're young and dumb. I did all
- 10:51Speaker 2: my raps when I was like in my early twenties, right,
- 10:53Speaker 2: And when I made EO, one of the main goals
- 10:56Speaker 2: I had was like, I want people our age, but
- 10:59Speaker 2: then like you know, nineteen twenty year olds and then shit,
- 11:02Speaker 2: my mom, I want my mom to come enjoy a gig.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Right. So were you guys like very was it purposeful
- 11:07Speaker 1: to kind of be as mysterious as possible initially? Yeah?
- 11:11Speaker 2: I think your anonymity is your protection, right. I think,
- 11:14Speaker 2: like because there was like this era where it was
- 11:15Speaker 2: like the weekend was like super mysterious, and then I
- 11:18Speaker 2: remember twenty four hours for a sec.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Nor yeah, and then everyone was like wait a minute,
- 11:23Speaker 1: we yeah he was that's Royce rizy. But do you like, like,
- 11:29Speaker 1: what was the thought process with that? Because it's people
- 11:33Speaker 1: might think it would be harder to connect with fans
- 11:36Speaker 1: not necessarily having like a a face to connect with
- 11:40Speaker 1: the music, you know what I mean?
- 11:42Speaker 2: Like, yeah, but I feel like textures. I feel like
- 11:45Speaker 2: the world that we built with Brando.
- 11:46Speaker 1: That's what it feels like. It feels like you guys
- 11:48Speaker 1: built like a universe.
- 11:50Speaker 2: And to be honest with you, people ask, oh, how
- 11:52Speaker 2: did you pop off in Asia? Like like that wasn't intentional,
- 11:55Speaker 2: Like because we weren't showing ourselves. Everyone could see themselves
- 11:59Speaker 2: in us to some extent. And I think the stories
- 12:01Speaker 2: we were telling it is like we're not out here
- 12:03Speaker 2: making like music is detrimental to people's lives. It's all
- 12:07Speaker 2: rooted in love. And that was the other thing. I
- 12:10Speaker 2: think having the experience of like taking some l's as
- 12:13Speaker 2: a solo artist, I was able to look back and go,
- 12:16Speaker 2: I want to make sure that age is well too,
- 12:19Speaker 2: because you have you had that luxury now, right, Like
- 12:21Speaker 2: I put out my first EO project when I was
- 12:23Speaker 2: twenty nine, right, I just turned thirty six, right, So
- 12:26Speaker 2: I've been in it, you know.
- 12:27Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. So it's been a journey.
- 12:28Speaker 2: It's been a journey. And yeah, damn aging myself up here.
- 12:33Speaker 1: It happens, it happens. We're all a we're getting there ready.
- 12:36Speaker 1: It's nice, it's nice, it's fine. What what do you
- 12:40Speaker 1: remember when you felt like the the rubber was hitting
- 12:45Speaker 1: the road in terms of you guys, like there was
- 12:47Speaker 1: real traction where you're like, oh, this, this idea, this
- 12:49Speaker 1: that this, because it's a risk, it's a bro.
- 12:51Speaker 2: We had four songs out, We put up a tour.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Everything blew out.
- 12:55Speaker 1: L Ray in La.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I remember there's people coming to the L Ray show
- 13:00Speaker 2: and they actually the best moment ever. Darkest who did
- 13:03Speaker 2: our JV he was the chairman of Island, came to
- 13:07Speaker 2: the Bowery Ballroom in New York and he was like, did.
- 13:10Speaker 1: You guys pay people to come? That?
- 13:11Speaker 2: Shit was blown out? We have four songs out, seven
- 13:14Speaker 2: hundred and fifty people singing every word. Wow, And there
- 13:18Speaker 2: was like SoundCloud leaks and shit like that. Obviously, But
- 13:21Speaker 2: our tape came out in twenty nineteen in May. First
- 13:24Speaker 2: one second one came out in like November or December.
- 13:28Speaker 2: We had Coach Hella the following year. Crazy, so that when.
- 13:33Speaker 1: That's like that happens, do you feel that happening?
- 13:37Speaker 2: The answer to your question is live the moment that
- 13:40Speaker 2: we played those like Toronto, London, La San France, Chicago,
- 13:43Speaker 2: like when I saw people in real life, not just
- 13:46Speaker 2: the internet shit like commenting right and not just comingto
- 13:49Speaker 2: the show, like knowing the cut cut, the song that
- 13:52Speaker 2: we didn't.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Put out a single, like the random album cut.
- 13:54Speaker 2: They were buying every piece of merch. I was like,
- 13:56Speaker 2: this is some six shit.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Like this is different. This is different. Yeah, this is
- 14:00Speaker 1: not what I was used to. On the wrap side,
- 14:03Speaker 1: I had to feel good though it felt good. It's
- 14:05Speaker 1: like feels good yeah, Like I mean, dude, I feel
- 14:07Speaker 1: like if any artist like gets to the point where
- 14:09Speaker 1: they can sell out any show, let alone the Palladium,
- 14:13Speaker 1: you know, and have people singing in your shit, it's like,
- 14:16Speaker 1: all right, all this, all this shit that I've been
- 14:20Speaker 1: going through, Like you said, it's been a long journey.
- 14:23Speaker 1: It's like it's gotta be like it was for something,
- 14:25Speaker 1: you know, it's paying off. Yeah. That's dope, man, Congrats
- 14:28Speaker 1: on that. Thank you. You were able to work with
- 14:33Speaker 1: some dope females on this project. Becky g La Legend,
- 14:37Speaker 1: that's my dog man. She is amazing.
- 14:39Speaker 2: She's blessed us twice now. She was on down in Miami.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Yeah, she's she's incredible man. Yeah, and she's a professional too.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Hell of a power ranger.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Okay, she was in the power There's no Becky hate
- 14:50Speaker 2: on this side I'm not doing.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I'm not hating.
- 14:52Speaker 3: I'm saying she killed it in the Power Ranger. But
- 14:54Speaker 3: she's a great artist, of course. Yeah matter she has
- 14:56Speaker 3: an aura aura. I will say this, there's a few
- 15:00Speaker 3: artists I've met that have like an aura. And when
- 15:01Speaker 3: I met Becky g I was like, you get it,
- 15:04Speaker 3: I get it. Have you met Jesse Jesse Rays?
- 15:06Speaker 1: Yeah, she's amazing. Oh yeah, I was the Other thing
- 15:08Speaker 1: Jesse Ray is his voice. Want to talk to her.
- 15:11Speaker 1: It sounds like it's very like unique to describe because
- 15:15Speaker 1: you'll have a conversation with her. She has like like
- 15:17Speaker 1: a little raspy voice, you know. Yeah, and it's like, oh,
- 15:19Speaker 1: that sounds like Jesse.
- 15:21Speaker 2: She to me like that was two That was like
- 15:23Speaker 2: a hail Mary getting them on that record. Yeah, because
- 15:27Speaker 2: I wanted to back in the day even like Destiny
- 15:29Speaker 2: Child shit, where like you would have three females barring out.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I wanted that as the first Everyone's like, why.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Are you going with that five minute song? Yeah?
- 15:38Speaker 2: Candy Gum was that for me? Like that funky just
- 15:40Speaker 2: talking shit. And I've never seen someone write like Jesse Wright.
- 15:44Speaker 2: She's like hove No, she.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Is a incredible man. Yeah, I think I always kind
- 15:52Speaker 1: of like look at like some of the like, you know,
- 15:55Speaker 1: because I think a lot of people on the hip
- 15:56Speaker 1: hop side like first heard her through like Am or
- 15:59Speaker 1: Big Sean because she's worked with both. Yeah, but I
- 16:02Speaker 1: always like I remember, like like I feel like Eminem
- 16:05Speaker 1: has such a great like ear for like singer songwriter chicks.
- 16:09Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Skylar Gray, Yeah, and even
- 16:12Speaker 1: Pink and Shit, yeah you're going back. But Jesse, Jesse
- 16:16Speaker 1: like her. She's incredible, man, she is a special jesse Res.
- 16:20Speaker 1: That's my dog, the Canadian goat man.
- 16:23Speaker 2: I tried to sign Jesse ten years ago. Really, yeah,
- 16:26Speaker 2: So I think a lot of what ended up, you know,
- 16:28Speaker 2: the culmination of EO was like the relationships that I
- 16:32Speaker 2: built for time. Obviously, me and the team, Like my
- 16:36Speaker 2: manager brit is really close with Becky's camp.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I'm over playing your guys is shit on my phone? Oops?
- 16:41Speaker 1: That Wrick is crazy? Get me your friend, dude. I
- 16:44Speaker 1: really like the main Squeeze song and vibe.
- 16:46Speaker 2: You want to tell people what you said off camera
- 16:48Speaker 2: about us? H fake sampling?
- 16:50Speaker 1: Diddy? Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah. So you guys have
- 16:52Speaker 1: a song track too. It's called that Girl. So when
- 16:56Speaker 1: I played the song, I was like, oh, they flipped
- 16:58Speaker 1: I Need a Girl Part two, And then in my
- 17:01Speaker 1: head I'm thinking, like also kind of a brave flip
- 17:04Speaker 1: in with everything going on, they were like fucking no.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I saw like multiple fucking fiends on TikTok no.
- 17:13Speaker 1: So there's a song. It's it's called that Girl.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Yes, emotional oranges that Girl, Yesmber one, two, three, four five.
- 17:21Speaker 1: And it has a very similar riff to I Need
- 17:24Speaker 1: a Girl Part two. We played them back to back
- 17:28Speaker 1: and and I stand by my is it a sample? No,
- 17:31Speaker 1: it's not a sample. Okay, isn't a sample.
- 17:34Speaker 2: But I stand me hemmed up, you're the fucking fed.
- 17:37Speaker 1: I stand by my mistake. It's an easy mistake to make,
- 17:42Speaker 1: yeah for sure, because if you it's it's a similar
- 17:44Speaker 1: you know, it's a similar riff. Yeah, vibe, it's a
- 17:47Speaker 1: similar vibe. Yeah yeah. And it's called back to General
- 17:49Speaker 1: and it's called that Girl.
- 17:51Speaker 2: I was telling you the origin story. Yes, I was
- 17:54Speaker 2: listening to Marcus Houston's That Girl, Okay, and that inspired it.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Shout out to Marcus Huston. Man, it doesn't get enough credit. Yes,
- 18:01Speaker 1: I am x immature. The legend Also, what show was
- 18:06Speaker 1: he on? Oh? The Brandy Show? Was Monique? Or what
- 18:11Speaker 1: the fuck was what was Dan? Brandy? Fuck?
- 18:13Speaker 2: She had her body at work?
- 18:14Speaker 1: Is deep? Her body brand? Moesha? She was? He was
- 18:19Speaker 1: on Moosha? Was he? Yeah? Okay he was little the
- 18:22Speaker 1: little little brother dude in that show. Yeah, shout out
- 18:25Speaker 1: to a got your history? You're showing your age, my guy.
- 18:28Speaker 1: We're close eighty nine, eighty eight, eighty seven, eighty seven, okay,
- 18:32Speaker 1: yeah yeah, but yeah. So so if you're listening, if
- 18:36Speaker 1: you listen to the album that it is not a sample.
- 18:38Speaker 2: It's not a sample. Did not sample Diddy. I would
- 18:41Speaker 2: never do such a thing.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Especially now, especially now, fair point. What part of La
- 18:46Speaker 1: are you from?
- 18:47Speaker 2: I grew up on the West Side, so I've lived
- 18:48Speaker 2: everywhere from Venice to Santa Monica to Culver City to
- 18:52Speaker 2: West Hollywood.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Yea, so the Valley. Now I live in the Valley
- 18:56Speaker 1: and West LA. It feels like so are bro I
- 19:01Speaker 1: refuse like I live in Burbank. So I had to
- 19:04Speaker 1: go to Santa Monica three times last week because I
- 19:07Speaker 1: had I what my tesla. I got into a crash
- 19:10Speaker 1: and I had to.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Oh, this is big ass tesla truck outside.
- 19:12Speaker 1: So the collision center is in Santa Monica. I don't
- 19:15Speaker 1: feel bad for you, but it's just so far. It's
- 19:18Speaker 1: so far. It's just very far. It is far. It's
- 19:22Speaker 1: like it's your timing. It's yeah. Like I we went
- 19:24Speaker 1: to the beach this past weekend when my kid was
- 19:26Speaker 1: out of school, and I was like, babe, how old
- 19:29Speaker 1: was your kid? He's eleven? Oh damn, yeah, how you've
- 19:33Speaker 1: done all these plaques and you gotta fucking have a
- 19:35Speaker 1: nineteen year old. You have a nineteen year old and
- 19:37Speaker 1: en year old. Yeah you got I got a grown man.
- 19:41Speaker 1: You're fucking full. Yeah, yeah, you do for no nothing.
- 19:45Speaker 2: My kids are right here.
- 19:46Speaker 1: They're here, ladies and gentlemen, my kids. Can people, can
- 19:48Speaker 1: people buy these vinyls right now.
- 19:50Speaker 2: And please do go support that. This is crazy. This
- 19:52Speaker 2: is Juice Volume three, that's still Emo. Look at the
- 19:55Speaker 2: double sided joint.
- 19:56Speaker 1: That's the back is dope. So you were able to
- 19:59Speaker 1: put these out independently. Yeah, so shout out to Tune.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Shout out to tunjy Man, great guy, that's my brother.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Because you guys had signed with him.
- 20:08Speaker 2: We had signed with darkas at Island and then when
- 20:12Speaker 2: Tungji came into death Jam he so graciously moved us
- 20:15Speaker 2: over right, and then we just had to think and
- 20:16Speaker 2: we were like, you know what, I think at this point,
- 20:18Speaker 2: it makes sense for us to try this thing indy
- 20:20Speaker 2: and just like follow my sword type shit, because if
- 20:24Speaker 2: we're gonna fail, I want to do it on my
- 20:26Speaker 2: dime and not on somebody else's. Right, and some of
- 20:30Speaker 2: the things that we wanted were I don't fault people
- 20:34Speaker 2: for not seeing it exactly how you see it, right.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I'm not talking about Tunge, I'm saying in general.
- 20:38Speaker 1: In general for sure. Yeah.
- 20:39Speaker 2: So if you want to spend, you know, if you
- 20:41Speaker 2: want to lose one hundred and fifty grand on tour
- 20:43Speaker 2: every tour, azad go do it yourself. Don't rely on
- 20:46Speaker 2: somebody else to.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Yeah. So you guys were like TUNGI released the old
- 20:52Speaker 1: stuff to you guys to be able to drop vinyls
- 20:54Speaker 1: and all that.
- 20:55Speaker 2: No, so that we can do. But Tunge and the
- 20:58Speaker 2: Trees kind of allowed us to take the music we
- 21:01Speaker 2: were working on that we were gonna put out through
- 21:02Speaker 2: them and.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Just take run with it.
- 21:06Speaker 2: That's that's big, yeah, because that's huge.
- 21:08Speaker 1: A lot of times, you know, I got a couple
- 21:10Speaker 1: of friends who are on Atlantic and then they just
- 21:12Speaker 1: left and they're like, yeah, anything Atlantic paid for they need,
- 21:16Speaker 1: it's theirs or they need it. Yeah, which makes sense yeah,
- 21:20Speaker 1: you know legally. Yeah. I mean if they paid for
- 21:21Speaker 1: it and it's recorded at you know, Atlantic Studios, and
- 21:24Speaker 1: they pay for the track, they pay for the producers
- 21:26Speaker 1: and mixing, Yeah for sure.
- 21:28Speaker 2: So for us to have these long story short big
- 21:30Speaker 2: shot out to Tunji LaTrece Maria.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Really amazing people. What are the things you've been able
- 21:38Speaker 1: to kind of learn from your previous experiences working with
- 21:42Speaker 1: like an independent label from behind the scenes and apply
- 21:44Speaker 1: it to this group and your guys' uh, you know
- 21:49Speaker 1: indie journey so far. That's a great question.
- 21:54Speaker 2: It takes a village. Yeah, And I think, like I said,
- 21:56Speaker 2: looking back on the solo shit I did, I didn't
- 21:58Speaker 2: realize how many people it took so incentivizing. You know,
- 22:02Speaker 2: my manager Brittany, making her a proper partner as opposed
- 22:06Speaker 2: to like some commission bullshit. We own the label together.
- 22:09Speaker 2: My best friend brand On, my art director. He has equity.
- 22:12Speaker 1: The producers.
- 22:13Speaker 2: The two main producers I work with Child and then
- 22:16Speaker 2: Dante from they working on other projects with them, you know,
- 22:19Speaker 2: our label at this point, I think in twenty twenty
- 22:21Speaker 2: five we're going to help make twenty artists over one
- 22:24Speaker 2: hundred grand a year.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Wow.
- 22:26Speaker 2: So the fact that we've been able to build these
- 22:29Speaker 2: two labels and provide for other people and lift their
- 22:33Speaker 2: you know shit up, it's been able to help lift
- 22:35Speaker 2: our at ours at the same time. So like Dominique Xavier,
- 22:40Speaker 2: who's going to be playing keys and synth base in
- 22:43Speaker 2: our band. We put out his solo classical record which
- 22:46Speaker 2: is going crazy right now.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Wow.
- 22:48Speaker 2: And he's you know, Prince picked him out from Obscurity.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Buddha who's playing bass on our tour, we're doing and
- 22:54Speaker 2: be an experimental record with him right now.
- 22:56Speaker 1: So it's like, I think what.
- 22:57Speaker 2: I've learned is how do you Yeah, it's just like
- 23:01Speaker 2: give and take shit, bro, it's regular fucking real life friendship.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Yeah too. And I feel like, you know, like as
- 23:08Speaker 1: an independent artist, you have to kind of make sure
- 23:10Speaker 1: every rock is lifted in terms of like how to
- 23:14Speaker 1: figure out how to monetize the music because there's like
- 23:19Speaker 1: streaming is people get so caught up in like obviously
- 23:22Speaker 1: your guys are stuff streams like crazy, but people get streams,
- 23:25Speaker 1: all right, but you guys do well. We do well. Yeah,
- 23:29Speaker 1: but you know, like a lot of artists are very
- 23:31Speaker 1: like so wrapped up in gung ho on like playlisting
- 23:36Speaker 1: and nah. And it's like, dude, like it like, if
- 23:40Speaker 1: your eye is on that ball, you're not going to
- 23:42Speaker 1: develop everything that really matters. And that's like your relationship
- 23:46Speaker 1: with fans, like getting good at live, yeah, and your
- 23:49Speaker 1: live shows.
- 23:50Speaker 2: I think too many artists are ass live and I
- 23:52Speaker 2: think that's something that like, you can boast all you
- 23:55Speaker 2: want about tickets, but if people come and they see
- 23:57Speaker 2: some booboo, they're never coming back.
- 23:59Speaker 1: I just saw a show from one of my favorite
- 24:01Speaker 1: rappers who's new. He sold out the Palladium a few
- 24:05Speaker 1: weeks ago.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Oh shit, hey, don't put him out a much.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Gonna be a part of this. His live show was
- 24:12Speaker 1: not very well. It was not very good. It was
- 24:15Speaker 1: very amateur. Yeah. I was so dissent because I love
- 24:18Speaker 1: this guy's music. I bought a shirt but Vinyl, you know, damn.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Yeah that's heartbreaking. Yeah it was. It was disappointing. But
- 24:26Speaker 1: he also said on stage, I'm not really good at
- 24:29Speaker 1: this performing ship. So I think he knows he's not good,
- 24:32Speaker 1: but he's trying. Sure. Okay.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Look I think for me, yes, I'm really lucky. Valley
- 24:38Speaker 2: in my group is incredible live, and I've like understood
- 24:42Speaker 2: how to play my position. I'm more of a role
- 24:45Speaker 2: player live, right, and I think understanding.
- 24:48Speaker 1: You bring the con vibes. Yeah, I got auld.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Two step, you know, I can.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Juice you know. But I think it's just like you're
- 24:53Speaker 1: not singing over your lyrics. It's like if you three
- 24:56Speaker 1: in press play and then like stood on stage for
- 25:00Speaker 1: like half your verse while it just plays.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Is that what he did?
- 25:03Speaker 1: Yeah? And I was like damn.
- 25:05Speaker 2: I was like that's terrible.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Yeah, No, we don't.
- 25:08Speaker 2: We don't do the back in track. Bullshit, you better like.
- 25:09Speaker 1: It was got to come correct. There's another like I
- 25:13Speaker 1: could say this because it's obvious. Are we good turn
- 25:17Speaker 1: turn it this way? Yeah? And then there's like the
- 25:20Speaker 1: live show thing is like so crazy because that works
- 25:24Speaker 1: for some people. Because I saw Playboy Cardi multiple times
- 25:27Speaker 1: recently and he doesn't perform. You show all your emotion
- 25:32Speaker 1: on your face. No, he doesn't perform. The song just
- 25:35Speaker 1: plays okay, and he's just going shit. But like there's
- 25:41Speaker 1: there's fire being lit lit off everywhere.
- 25:44Speaker 2: He's a boutleg Kev's opinion and he no, no, no,
- 25:47Speaker 2: I'm not saying it's it works for him.
- 25:49Speaker 1: It's just something about him being there.
- 25:52Speaker 2: And like, I don't know if I want you to
- 25:54Speaker 2: come to our show like a playboy.
- 25:56Speaker 1: CARDI shows like an insane it's like an insane listening party.
- 25:59Speaker 1: It's it's just.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Let's let's switch the subject. He was actually good live.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Who you good? I know this is like she's huge,
- 26:06Speaker 1: but I think Doja Cat is. Oh, she's incredible, a
- 26:08Speaker 1: fucking alien live, incredible. I saw her. I'm not really
- 26:14Speaker 1: into like pop music. I think she's an amazing MC,
- 26:15Speaker 1: but obviously she's pop, but I had to go see
- 26:18Speaker 1: her tour.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Wait wait, wait, you're not gonna just grace over like that.
- 26:21Speaker 2: She's an incredible MC. She's pop because she's popular.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Yeah, but she also is like she kind of got
- 26:26Speaker 1: into the like juice like a Juicy with Tiger and
- 26:29Speaker 1: all those records. There are more pop records where she
- 26:31Speaker 1: was doing more singing.
- 26:32Speaker 2: But I know you're a radio I know you're a
- 26:35Speaker 2: radio guy.
- 26:36Speaker 1: No, No, I think I think we need to talk about elite. Elite.
- 26:40Speaker 2: What is what is our genre to you?
- 26:43Speaker 1: I think it is uh yeah, I feel like no, no,
- 26:47Speaker 1: I feel like y'all genre is very like That's why
- 26:50Speaker 1: I said it earlier. It's like it's it's unique. I
- 26:54Speaker 1: don't know it's a. It's a it's a culmination of
- 26:56Speaker 1: a lot. Okay, it's kind of it feels like like
- 26:58Speaker 1: like when you said you create your own world. That's
- 27:00Speaker 1: what it feels like too with the music. Okay, Like
- 27:02Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Being kind, but like I really want to be honest.
- 27:04Speaker 2: I want like a black and white answer because I'll
- 27:06Speaker 2: be honest. I think a lot of the playlist ship,
- 27:08Speaker 2: a lot of radio ship the same conversation is happening,
- 27:12Speaker 2: which is like, but it's not R and B.
- 27:15Speaker 1: But it's not. To me, it's very it's very R
- 27:18Speaker 1: and B esque.
- 27:21Speaker 2: It has soulful cores, it's knocking drums. I think it's
- 27:24Speaker 2: R and B has funky bass.
- 27:25Speaker 1: I think it's to me when I listen to your ship,
- 27:27Speaker 1: it's R and B. Okay, it's it's it's R and B.
- 27:30Speaker 2: All right, Yeah, we're gonna clip this up and send
- 27:32Speaker 2: It's all the programmers that are like it's a.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Little too po for me, well, they're all full of ship. Yeah.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Fuck radio and I'm on the radio one hundred cities.
- 27:39Speaker 1: But you know, no, But well, you talk about amazing performers,
- 27:42Speaker 1: I think Doja cat Is When I saw her, She's incredible. Yeah.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Her arena tour, she had no outfit changes. It was
- 27:49Speaker 1: just her on stage the whole like you know most times,
- 27:51Speaker 1: like when you're that big, there's changes, and no, she
- 27:54Speaker 1: was just up there rocking it solo. No day.
- 27:55Speaker 2: It was give me somebody like more at our level?
- 27:59Speaker 1: Who Who I Love Live? That's just incredible. I'm trying
- 28:06Speaker 1: to think newer Doci. I haven't seen Doci live, so
- 28:13Speaker 1: she's great. I speaks to her live show. I have
- 28:16Speaker 1: not seen her live. Who's Fire? That's like me new?
- 28:22Speaker 1: That's new because I'm thinking most of the guys that
- 28:25Speaker 1: are like new that I've seen live are just okay
- 28:27Speaker 1: and I fuck with them.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Dejon's Dope Live?
- 28:30Speaker 1: Have you seen him? Sanfa's Dope Live. I'm trying to
- 28:34Speaker 1: think who I saw that was crazy? Bro I have
- 28:37Speaker 1: is Dope live. I haven't got new, but I haven't
- 28:40Speaker 1: seen a like a newer rapper because I mostly go
- 28:43Speaker 1: to rap shows that like really blew me away in
- 28:47Speaker 1: a long time. Foggy Raw is dope. I don't know
- 28:51Speaker 1: who that is. You gotta check him out, check out
- 28:53Speaker 1: shout Foggy. That's a great name, he's great. Who the
- 28:56Speaker 1: fuck is dope live? I don't know.
- 28:59Speaker 2: I think Isaiah Falls is dope live.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I've so like I've been to some dope rap shows,
- 29:05Speaker 1: but they're very just like running the mill. I mean,
- 29:09Speaker 1: I didna say rap.
- 29:10Speaker 2: I said in general, I said, what show who is
- 29:12Speaker 2: dope that you fuck with live? That's a real.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Question in terms of the new Like the best show
- 29:20Speaker 1: I've been too recently was common in Pete Rock. Yeah
- 29:22Speaker 1: that makes sense. That was amazing. Yeah, that makes sense.
- 29:24Speaker 1: But like, yeah, I mean who else was hard Man?
- 29:29Speaker 1: Yeah of course. Yeah, But we're talking like.
- 29:30Speaker 2: You can't give you a superstar answer. Give me somebody
- 29:33Speaker 2: like no.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Shit, sassors fire, no shit, yeah, no ship. I saw
- 29:39Speaker 1: Exhibit with a live band the other night.
- 29:41Speaker 2: That's crazy, that's crazy.
- 29:43Speaker 1: That was dope.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Exact I rap for exhibit when he was on Soul
- 29:47Speaker 2: Assassins like thirteen years ago.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Damn, wherever the fuck that was? That was dope. I
- 29:52Speaker 1: got a photo of him shouts of Soul Assassins. Yeah.
- 29:54Speaker 1: That a Muggs studio is like a ninety second walk
- 29:58Speaker 1: from my front door of my house.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Who else is tight live? I mean, oh, man, the
- 30:09Speaker 2: West coast right now? Who's coming out the West?
- 30:12Speaker 1: That's Oh?
- 30:13Speaker 2: The Sacred Souls is dope live. Okay, check them out.
- 30:16Speaker 2: They're a dope band.
- 30:17Speaker 1: I think my homegirl Twee is dope live. She's a singer,
- 30:21Speaker 1: she's huge. Oh shit, Yeah, she just sold out her
- 30:27Speaker 1: solo tour. She opened up for LM on tour two okay,
- 30:30Speaker 1: and she opened up for kay Lonnie on tour. Oh.
- 30:33Speaker 2: K one is dope. You know that is k w N. Yeah,
- 30:37Speaker 2: they're fucking fire. You fugle her?
- 30:39Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, I don't know, man, I feel like I
- 30:42Speaker 1: mostly go to like grimy rap shows.
- 30:44Speaker 2: You don't struck me as a grimmy rap guy anymore.
- 30:46Speaker 1: I still am buddy. Really, it's just to get in
- 30:49Speaker 1: my car and it's just fucking bar or it's the
- 30:53Speaker 1: it's like one of these nights by the Eagles, you
- 30:56Speaker 1: know what I mean. It's like I got I got
- 30:58Speaker 1: like my fucking an old seventies rock playlist, or it's
- 31:03Speaker 1: like melt your face off hip hop.
- 31:06Speaker 2: It's wait, So, how did you hear about EO? Did
- 31:08Speaker 2: Roy sent it two?
- 31:09Speaker 1: Initially? You just saw it on the blogs. I saw
- 31:11Speaker 1: it on the blogs initially. I feel like, I don't
- 31:15Speaker 1: remember when I connected that you were in the group,
- 31:19Speaker 1: but I think I might have hit you. You did hit me,
- 31:21Speaker 1: But it wasn't like I didn't know Rory was managing
- 31:24Speaker 1: you guys till wait later. So I didn't realize that
- 31:27Speaker 1: Rory was a part of your guys' team until after
- 31:30Speaker 1: I already had heard of you guys, and I think
- 31:32Speaker 1: someone I think maybe the label serviced the record. Really
- 31:36Speaker 1: think it's a label, okay, And and somehow I figured out.
- 31:40Speaker 1: I was like, oh shit, I think maybe you had
- 31:41Speaker 1: posted it on my Instagram song yeah, And I was like,
- 31:44Speaker 1: oh oh shit, what I think that's what happened. How
- 31:47Speaker 1: did you guys link with Rory? I DM?
- 31:50Speaker 2: He wants to say he heard it himself, but I
- 31:52Speaker 2: DM Rory the record and and we ended up linking
- 31:56Speaker 2: in person. He still didn't know it was me. He
- 31:59Speaker 2: thought I was just like, he's like the label or something. Yeah,
- 32:04Speaker 2: And then I think when he found out and he
- 32:06Speaker 2: just like fucked with the whole team. He was like, Yo,
- 32:07Speaker 2: I'm downe to help. However, at the time him and
- 32:09Speaker 2: Maul were still fucking with Joe right, and we also
- 32:13Speaker 2: talked about like how I could be helpful for him
- 32:15Speaker 2: because he had the concept for the album at the
- 32:16Speaker 2: time for his project.
- 32:17Speaker 1: His project is Dope Too, and he's working on another
- 32:20Speaker 1: one right. Yeah.
- 32:20Speaker 2: That we're putting out a Masago Freddie record Fire.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I'm sure I was sending it to you soon, but
- 32:26Speaker 2: I sent him the mix back this morning.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Dope. Yeah. Shout to Freddy Man. That record is incredible.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Freddy is a dope. Are you a coffee guy? Yeah?
- 32:37Speaker 2: So I need some reciprocity. I needs you to be
- 32:40Speaker 2: on my show. It's called Extra Hot Coffee.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Okay.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Every city we tore in, Okay, this is like a
- 32:45Speaker 2: shameless play.
- 32:45Speaker 1: I gotta do it.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Every city we tore in, I check out the three
- 32:48Speaker 2: best coffee shops and I'll go with somebody from the city.
- 32:52Speaker 2: So like Ari Shafir was here on My Favorite Comedians.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Shout out to Ari Man. I love that guy. So
- 32:56Speaker 1: we took him out.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Becky, we did ngle We did three best coffee shops
- 33:00Speaker 2: in Englewood. You're not from here.
- 33:01Speaker 1: So maybe I'll bring you to Phoenix.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Bring you to Phoenix, go to the Van Buren Show,
- 33:05Speaker 2: and take you out for some coffee.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Let's do it. What makes good coffee?
- 33:11Speaker 2: I think it depends on what you like. For me,
- 33:14Speaker 2: my drink is the extra hot oat flat white. And
- 33:16Speaker 2: I used to be a barista and people like to
- 33:18Speaker 2: tell me, don't burn the milk.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Don't. I wanted to.
- 33:21Speaker 2: I wanted to sit right in my gut if I
- 33:22Speaker 2: haven't taken a shit yet. I want that coffee to
- 33:25Speaker 2: kind of activate like a laxative. Oh yeah it does, right, yes,
- 33:29Speaker 2: So for me, I like it like one fifty five,
- 33:31Speaker 2: just get cut right through. Temperature is one thing, So temperature,
- 33:35Speaker 2: I would.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Say the bean.
- 33:37Speaker 2: For me, it's like I prefer a lighter roast personally,
- 33:41Speaker 2: like a Colombian will be ideal.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Okay. I enjoy shitty coffee, like I can go to
- 33:47Speaker 1: seven eleven and make a coffee that I fucking love
- 33:50Speaker 1: your filth. You put a whole bunch of creamer and shit.
- 33:51Speaker 1: No no, no, no no no. I could drink it.
- 33:54Speaker 1: I could drink the Brazilian at seven eleven by itself
- 33:58Speaker 1: black if I'm full, fully out you know, but uh,
- 34:02Speaker 1: ketode out. But I also love I like to go
- 34:05Speaker 1: to a diner and when they just keep filling the
- 34:07Speaker 1: cup up, you like that, just that cheap, just that,
- 34:11Speaker 1: and then nah, that's so good now, is it? Nah?
- 34:15Speaker 1: I feel like there's coffee snobs though this is a
- 34:17Speaker 1: real thing.
- 34:18Speaker 2: I would say I'm definitely snob ish, yeah, ish, because
- 34:22Speaker 2: like I fuck with Starbucks.
- 34:24Speaker 1: No, you don't. I mean I don't. I don't. I
- 34:26Speaker 1: don't want to go. I'm not doing this, by the way,
- 34:28Speaker 1: By the way, by the way, I don't fuck with
- 34:30Speaker 1: Starbucks because we don't align on some things. You know
- 34:32Speaker 1: what I was gonna say. With that being said, in general,
- 34:36Speaker 1: as a consumer in my life, I've enjoyed some Starbucks.
- 34:40Speaker 2: How many cups of coffee do you have a day?
- 34:42Speaker 2: keV oh Man?
- 34:43Speaker 1: Honestly, on on Mondays and Wednesdays, we meet to record
- 34:47Speaker 1: my radio show, but first we go to breakfast at
- 34:49Speaker 1: Magnolia Grill.
- 34:50Speaker 2: You're just out in your whole shit that everyone's gonna
- 34:52Speaker 2: pull up every struggle round and our waiter probably pours
- 34:56Speaker 2: seven to eight.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Cups while we're sitting there for you, for the whole squad,
- 34:59Speaker 1: for me in a mug, like a mug like this.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Wait, do you like the way that smells? By the way,
- 35:04Speaker 2: it smells amazing fantastic? Right, Oh yeah, this ship is
- 35:07Speaker 2: a vibe. I will take this to the office.
- 35:10Speaker 1: You see that mass is great. You guys have your
- 35:12Speaker 1: own candles? Come on, man, are these for sale? Yes?
- 35:15Speaker 2: Okay, I will say I think that probably those are
- 35:17Speaker 2: probably sold out, the bonified ones, but the body and
- 35:20Speaker 2: soult ones you can still.
- 35:21Speaker 1: This smells ridiculous, amazing. Yeah, I would say I'm not
- 35:26Speaker 1: a coffee I'm a coffee and I enjoy coffee.
- 35:28Speaker 2: I don't think the shells for you, but you can go.
- 35:29Speaker 1: I want to go, well do, but but I love coffee.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I drink a lot of coffee.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Okay, So let's say you're not Keto. What's your order
- 35:38Speaker 2: when you're going iced camel? Na, the shell is not
- 35:42Speaker 2: for you. You like milkshakes, you don't like coffee.
- 35:45Speaker 1: You know, an iced camel macchiato that's a milkshake, or
- 35:49Speaker 1: an ice just black coffee? Okay, I just do strake colebrew.
- 35:53Speaker 2: You know who Joe Manganello is, the actor Sophia Vergara. Yeah, yeah, okay,
- 35:58Speaker 2: so we just said episode with him because he has
- 36:00Speaker 2: a movie coming out called Noonah's Okay with Nat last.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Week it's out. It's out. I just saw it.
- 36:06Speaker 2: It's out, okay, So Joe Maganela, let me fix this.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Joe Maganilo and Vince Vaughn just dropped Nonah's. I have
- 36:13Speaker 2: not watched it yet, but it came out last week.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it's our Netflix share. I heard it's amazing.
- 36:16Speaker 2: So we did an episode in Venice, and Joe is
- 36:20Speaker 2: a he's a coffee connoisseur as well, but he likes
- 36:23Speaker 2: to try the specials at each coffee shop. So I
- 36:26Speaker 2: ended up getting this one at Little Lunch that had
- 36:28Speaker 2: like a dragon's egg in it, and it was.
- 36:31Speaker 1: You talk to me about milkshakes. It was you're getting
- 36:34Speaker 1: happy meal. Yeah, but it's that's fucking filth.
- 36:38Speaker 2: And for me, if I'm doing coffee, I want to
- 36:41Speaker 2: maintain the the clarity of it.
- 36:43Speaker 1: So I enjoy when I have like a black coffee,
- 36:47Speaker 1: I enjoy it not being great, if that makes sense.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Like I like to slow burn on the other It's like, what.
- 36:56Speaker 2: What was your first experience having coffee?
- 36:58Speaker 1: Fuck? Uh a milkshake? Yeah, there you go.
- 37:03Speaker 2: I feel like you be the kind of person that
- 37:04Speaker 2: they go to Phils. You know what Phill's coffee shop is.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I know Phils. They do like the mint moheato.
- 37:08Speaker 1: I like the commission here in Burbank is okay. There's
- 37:11Speaker 1: a place called Black Elephant Coffee. That's good. Okay, So
- 37:14Speaker 1: would you see your episode in Burbank? You can take
- 37:16Speaker 1: us to your local spots. I'm a Bourbank guy, let
- 37:17Speaker 1: me know. Fair enough, fair enough? All right? So, look,
- 37:20Speaker 1: the album is out, albums out. You can the pre
- 37:23Speaker 1: order for the vinyls up. Yeah.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Actually, yeah, how'd you know? Probably your research? Yeah, yeah,
- 37:29Speaker 2: the pre order for or ng is up.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Now.
- 37:31Speaker 2: The tour tickets are on sale, well, they will be
- 37:34Speaker 2: by the Times comes out.
- 37:35Speaker 1: When's the tour kickoff in the US?
- 37:37Speaker 2: September tenth? Okay, so, and the LA shows are October.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Ninth and October tenth. Yeah, that's big. I expect you
- 37:43Speaker 1: to be there. Kef I will be at one of

- 37:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I leave tomorrow night. So this was a last
- 37:55Speaker 2: minute thing. Thank you for having me.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Don't get kept in China. That's all I'm gonna say.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Stay up, don't don't fuck around with that president. That motherfucker.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Don't play. I'm just saying. I'm just saying, don't get
- 38:06Speaker 1: kept dog.
- 38:07Speaker 2: What did I do now?
- 38:08Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know ship this. They might
- 38:10Speaker 1: be like, we're gonna tear a few motherfucker you leave
