- 0:00Speaker 1: Where usual comes for common sense. Mark Simon on sevent
- 0:04Speaker 1: ten wr Well, hey, rainy day, but you had a
- 0:17Speaker 1: great couple of days, summer like days. It's going to
- 0:19Speaker 1: get better. It's going to be not so bad this weekend. Now.
- 0:23Speaker 1: The latest in Iran, well, they're using cluster bombs now
- 0:27Speaker 1: against their enemies. You're not really supposed to use those
- 0:31Speaker 1: cluster bombs, but this is considered their last gasps. As
- 0:34Speaker 1: you heard on the news, the new leader, the Ayatola's
- 0:37Speaker 1: Sun says the straits of Hormuse will remain closed and
- 0:43Speaker 1: Iran will continue to attack its enemies. They also activated Hesblah.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Those terrorists launched one hundred rockets last night at Israel,
- 0:51Speaker 1: which did overwhelm the Iron Dome. One hundred rockets at once.
- 0:56Speaker 1: They were able to shoot down half of them, but
- 0:57Speaker 1: some of them got through. And also again those cluster
- 1:01Speaker 1: bombs were used on Israeli cities, so this is pretty
- 1:05Speaker 1: rough stuff. The Hoodies so far have not fired at Israel,
- 1:10Speaker 1: leading Israelis to worry that they're being held back to
- 1:14Speaker 1: be like the final gasp of Iran. Israeli Air Force
- 1:19Speaker 1: is continuing to knock out projectile launchers. Additional infrastructure sites,
- 1:26Speaker 1: and that will continue and keep going for a while.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Figure another week, another week, and as the Pentagon is saying,
- 1:33Speaker 1: they're getting to the point where they're going to just
- 1:34Speaker 1: run out of targets, there'll be nothing left to hit.
- 1:37Speaker 1: You'll still get the little attacks the straits of Hormus.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Those attacks are coming from what's left of the drones
- 1:44Speaker 1: and speedboats with dynamite on them. So we should take
- 1:47Speaker 1: another week to wrap all of that up. Because you
- 1:51Speaker 1: heard Steve Moore, the great economists, last hour say we're
- 1:55Speaker 1: not dependent on oil for anybody, believe it or not,
- 1:58Speaker 1: We're actually totally energy dependent. Now, do you remember, for
- 2:01Speaker 1: most of your lifetime, for a million years, whenever there
- 2:05Speaker 1: was a potential presidential race, at the convention, the candidate
- 2:09Speaker 1: in his convention speech would rattle off everything he's going
- 2:12Speaker 1: to do, and one of the things every candidate for
- 2:16Speaker 1: forty years would rattle off, and I'm going to end
- 2:18Speaker 1: our dependence on foreign oil, and the whole audience, which heer.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Nobody ever did that, Nobody ever tried to do that
- 2:25Speaker 1: until Donald Trump came along. He actually did it, the
- 2:28Speaker 1: only one that ever did it, after every candidate on
- 2:32Speaker 1: Earth promised he actually ended our dependence on foreign oil,
- 2:37Speaker 1: totally energy independent. And in fact, this week the first
- 2:41Speaker 1: oil refinery to open in America in fifty years, A
- 2:45Speaker 1: brand new refinery, first one in fifty years, opened in
- 2:49Speaker 1: Texas and is a three hundred billion dollar deal. It'll
- 2:56Speaker 1: generate also thousands of construction and permanent jobs. Wages will
- 3:00Speaker 1: exceed market averages. Partners in India and privately held energy
- 3:07Speaker 1: company Reliance made a tremendous investment in the project. It's
- 3:12Speaker 1: a really really great deal. And by the way, if
- 3:15Speaker 1: you want to raise minimum wage, that's how you do it.
- 3:17Speaker 1: You create booming economy, jobs, factories, things going up, and
- 3:22Speaker 1: you run out of You get to a shortage of workers,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and industries have to pay way above minimum wage to
- 3:28Speaker 1: get anybody. That's how you do it, not by just
- 3:32Speaker 1: raising the minimum wage. The only thing that happens there
- 3:34Speaker 1: is people get laid off and fired because the minimum
- 3:37Speaker 1: wage is too high and they don't need that many workers. Hey,
- 3:42Speaker 1: the media loves to go crazy, loves to go crazy
- 3:46Speaker 1: in anything they can do to attack Trump. So the
- 3:51Speaker 1: Pentagon is now banning photographers. News photographers. Reporters can come
- 3:57Speaker 1: in and ask all the questions they want, but no
- 3:59Speaker 1: more news photograph, so they're up in arms. Now most
- 4:03Speaker 1: of this was caused by Reuters and a couple of
- 4:05Speaker 1: those you know Reuters in these news services that used
- 4:09Speaker 1: to be considered the gold standard are now the most
- 4:12Speaker 1: biased partisan people in the world. So they were deliberately
- 4:17Speaker 1: trying to get the worst pictures they could get a
- 4:19Speaker 1: Pete Hexith and the General's General Kine whenever there was
- 4:23Speaker 1: a briefing. You know, if you want to well, you know,
- 4:25Speaker 1: you take pictures of yourself. You take ten twenty pictures.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Some of them you look great, you're smiling. Some of
- 4:30Speaker 1: them your eyes are crooked. You're all crooked, you look terrible.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Your mouth is in a weird position. So they were
- 4:35Speaker 1: trying to do that to Pete Hexith. They were deliberately
- 4:38Speaker 1: using the worst pictures they could get, so they brought
- 4:41Speaker 1: this on themselves. They deserve to have this band. Just
- 4:45Speaker 1: their incredible Trump derangement syndrome caused this. CNN has been
- 4:51Speaker 1: totally humiliated in the last couple of days. If you
- 4:55Speaker 1: watch that and think you're getting the news, you are crazy.
- 4:58Speaker 1: They have just been caught in so many things. Now
- 5:01Speaker 1: you had that terrible incident in New York. Two ISIS
- 5:04Speaker 1: inspired terrorists with IUD bombs, dangerous dangerous bombs, tried to
- 5:11Speaker 1: throw them into a crowd here. So first you had
- 5:15Speaker 1: Anna Navarro lying and saying it was an attack on
- 5:18Speaker 1: mayor Mom Donnie, that they were trying to get him. Well,
- 5:20Speaker 1: that's absolutely not true. She repeated it on CNN a
- 5:25Speaker 1: day later, and luckily there was somebody there who just
- 5:28Speaker 1: straightened her out and said it's not true, but she
- 5:30Speaker 1: kept arguing it was true. Then you had the CNN
- 5:33Speaker 1: online on Twitter account these were two well you saw
- 5:39Speaker 1: the two guys that got arrested, two crazy looking terrorist kids.
- 5:42Speaker 1: They came from Pennsylvania. Their ISIS inspired. They were shouting
- 5:46Speaker 1: ISIS slogans. They used a IUD, the type ISIS uses,
- 5:51Speaker 1: they used the chemicals ISIS uses. I mean, this was
- 5:54Speaker 1: as ISIS terrorist as you could get, these kids from
- 5:57Speaker 1: Pennsylvania about nineteen. The CNN Twitter account described it as
- 6:04Speaker 1: two teenagers came from Pennsylvania to visit New York on
- 6:07Speaker 1: a warm sunny day when suddenly they were arrested. I mean,
- 6:12Speaker 1: this was a total, complete fake news, complete total distortion
- 6:18Speaker 1: of what happened. This is by CNN for their readers.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It got so much flak online. They were so attacked
- 6:27Speaker 1: virally that CNN actually took down the whole thing and
- 6:30Speaker 1: then apologized, saying they removed that because it didn't follow
- 6:35Speaker 1: their editorial standards. But let's be honest, if it hadn't
- 6:39Speaker 1: been for the viral outrage, they would have left it there.
- 6:42Speaker 1: It's just awful. So if you're watching CNN, you're getting
- 6:46Speaker 1: the exact opposite of what happened many many times when
- 6:50Speaker 1: you run into your left wing kookie friends and you
- 6:53Speaker 1: get into these arguments and you can't believe the things.
- 6:55Speaker 1: They think. This is why they're watching things like CNN
- 6:59Speaker 1: or MSNBC. And if you watch it, it looks like
- 7:02Speaker 1: you're watching some sort of news broadcast. A set looks
- 7:04Speaker 1: like a newscast. They got suits and ties and glasses.
- 7:08Speaker 1: They look like they are newspeople, and you think this
- 7:10Speaker 1: is what you're watching. So you could never convince them
- 7:13Speaker 1: in a million years that these aren't newspeople. This is
- 7:16Speaker 1: not a news show. You're getting total distortion, Trump derangement
- 7:20Speaker 1: syndrome nonsense. You could never convince them of this. That's
- 7:23Speaker 1: why I keep telling you don't even bother. Don't even
- 7:25Speaker 1: try to argue with them. Just let them think whatever
- 7:28Speaker 1: they want to think. There's nothing you can do about it. Hey,
- 7:31Speaker 1: the Oscars are Sunday night. Conan O'Brien returns as the host.
- 7:38Speaker 1: He'll be the host for the next ten years. He's
- 7:40Speaker 1: very good at it. You know, in the good old days,
- 7:43Speaker 1: a million years ago, you had the biggest names in
- 7:45Speaker 1: the world, the biggest comedians on earth. That was Bob
- 7:48Speaker 1: Hope for many, many many years. With the MC of
- 7:52Speaker 1: the Oscars, it was Johnny Carson for a number of years.
- 7:56Speaker 1: But there's no such thing anymore. You don't have people
- 7:58Speaker 1: like that anymore. There's no you know, you don't really
- 8:00Speaker 1: have big, big stars anymore. There's nobody who anybody would
- 8:05Speaker 1: know anymore. You know, in the good old days, if
- 8:06Speaker 1: you said Bob Hope, or if you said George Burns,
- 8:09Speaker 1: or if you said Dean Martin, everybody knew that they were.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Everybody knew them. Nowadays, you can take the biggest highest
- 8:17Speaker 1: paid movie star in the world, half the country doesn't
- 8:20Speaker 1: know who the hell they are, or under a certain
- 8:22Speaker 1: age they don't know who they are, Or the biggest
- 8:27Speaker 1: music star in the world. Half the people over a
- 8:30Speaker 1: certain age doesn't know who they are anymore. Just so
- 8:32Speaker 1: there's no such thing as really big stars anymore. The
- 8:35Speaker 1: closest thing you can come to is Conan O'Brien. He's actually,
- 8:41Speaker 1: you know, he was always considered you know, subpar, minor
- 8:44Speaker 1: league kind of a guy. But in today's world he's
- 8:47Speaker 1: like the old veteran, like the real veteran, old school
- 8:51Speaker 1: kind of show business guy. He was great last year.
- 8:54Speaker 1: He'll return this year. The Oscars where they were I
- 8:57Speaker 1: don't know why they were desperately trying to get Barbara
- 8:59Speaker 1: Stride to perform it this year's Oscars. It looks like
- 9:03Speaker 1: they've got her. She will be a presenter, although it
- 9:06Speaker 1: looks like I don't think she'll sing. They will not
- 9:10Speaker 1: confirm that she's going to sing. But the reason they
- 9:12Speaker 1: want her there Robert Redford is one of the people
- 9:16Speaker 1: we lost last year, so they want a tribute to
- 9:18Speaker 1: Robert Redford. Streisand of course will you know, associated with Redford,
- 9:24Speaker 1: So she'll be there for the tribute to Redford. They
- 9:27Speaker 1: wanted her to sing the way we were. I don't
- 9:29Speaker 1: think she's going to do it, and I don't think again,
- 9:32Speaker 1: I don't think the Oscar people understand that about half
- 9:36Speaker 1: the people watching will not know who Barbara Streisand is.
- 9:39Speaker 1: They will have absolutely no idea. It's just the way
- 9:43Speaker 1: the world is today. It's just different generations. Everybody under
- 9:52Speaker 1: thirty five. They won't know who Barbara streisand is. The
- 9:55Speaker 1: way we were, They've never heard the song. So who
- 9:58Speaker 1: is going to be there? Well, let me see. Here's
- 10:01Speaker 1: the whole list here. You know, it's not the greatest
- 10:06Speaker 1: list in the world. Presenters this Sunday include Rose Byrne,
- 10:10Speaker 1: Nicole Kidman, Jimmy Kimmel. Jimmy Kimmel. Okay, now he has
- 10:14Speaker 1: nothing to do with the movie business, but but he
- 10:18Speaker 1: hates Trump. They wanted to make some Trump jokes. He'll
- 10:20Speaker 1: be there. Delroy Lindo again, Wagner Mora, Pedro Pascal. Half
- 10:28Speaker 1: of America, maybe sixty percent of America, has no idea
- 10:32Speaker 1: who these people are. Bill Pullman, Lewis Pullman, Let's see
- 10:38Speaker 1: who else, Adrian Brody, Will Arnett. Okay, these are not
- 10:42Speaker 1: the greatest stars in the world. Chris Evans, Anne Hathaway,
- 10:48Speaker 1: Chas Infinnity, Mikey Madison. Now a lot of you people listening,
- 10:52Speaker 1: who I don't know who any of these people are.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Zoe Saldana, Maya, Rudolph Gwyneth Paltrow. She's in Mark Supreme.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Very good in there. But again, in the old days,
- 11:03Speaker 1: you know, you go watch the old Oscars from the fifties,
- 11:05Speaker 1: the presenters were Humphrey Bogart, Frank Sinatra, I mean, the
- 11:09Speaker 1: biggest people in the world. So it's going to be
- 11:12Speaker 1: a strange oscar show and it'll be this Sunday night seven,
- 11:18Speaker 1: seven to eleven, you know, something like that. Who's gonna
- 11:21Speaker 1: win what? I don't know. I loved Marty Supreme. I
- 11:24Speaker 1: thought it was a great movie. Although I talked to
- 11:26Speaker 1: a lot of people that saw it, they're not that
- 11:28Speaker 1: excited about it. But Timothy Shalomy is expected to win
- 11:33Speaker 1: for his part in the movie, So we'll see. But
- 11:36Speaker 1: it's this Sunday night. Hey. You know, there's a top
- 11:40Speaker 1: judge in New York. He's like the ruling judge of
- 11:42Speaker 1: all the judges in New York. So he's speaking at
- 11:44Speaker 1: a conference and now he's got everybody going nuts. State
- 11:49Speaker 1: Republicans have filed a complaint against this guy. He's Chief
- 11:53Speaker 1: Judge Rowan Wilson, and he was speaking at a conference
- 11:59Speaker 1: and he talked about criminals, and he said, you got
- 12:01Speaker 1: to go easy when you sentence the criminals. Go easy
- 12:04Speaker 1: on them. They hurt somebody seriously, maybe in the past,
- 12:09Speaker 1: but they've come to be a very different person, and
- 12:12Speaker 1: we're spending a lot of money to keep them in prison.
- 12:15Speaker 1: That's stupid. He also said it's very depressing when a
- 12:20Speaker 1: judge refers to a defendant as an animal who should
- 12:23Speaker 1: be locked up. Well, you know what, many of them
- 12:26Speaker 1: are animals who should be locked up. And this judge
- 12:29Speaker 1: is getting all kinds of flack. People are up in
- 12:31Speaker 1: arms because he's the chief judge. He's actually telling judges
- 12:34Speaker 1: go easy on the criminals. Don't sentence them to anything.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Prison's not a great It's unbelievable the chief judge in
- 12:40Speaker 1: New York would say this. They're filing complaints against them,
- 12:45Speaker 1: saying he violated ethics rules by making those comments. It
- 12:49Speaker 1: was too political, republican law makercy cross the lines of
- 12:53Speaker 1: what judges are allowed to say publicly. So we'll see
- 12:56Speaker 1: what happens this guy. This is also the reason you
- 12:58Speaker 1: need Bruce Blakeman to be governed her and you got
- 13:00Speaker 1: people like this, and Leticia James and wacky Mom Donnie
- 13:05Speaker 1: is the mayor. You need a Bruce Blakeman as governor,
- 13:08Speaker 1: your only hope to keep things sane here in New York.
- 13:11Speaker 1: In fact, Bruce Blakeman yesterday calling for a public apology
- 13:17Speaker 1: of from mayor Mam Donnie's wife. She's the one that
- 13:22Speaker 1: this is just still hard to believe. On Twitter, somebody
- 13:26Speaker 1: is talking about October seventh, the horrible Holocaust in Israel,
- 13:30Speaker 1: how it's justified, it's the right thing to do, it
- 13:33Speaker 1: was necessary, you have to do that. This is where
- 13:36Speaker 1: people were killed, slaughtered butchered, babies were killed, women were raped.
- 13:44Speaker 1: So she clicks like on this a couple of times
- 13:47Speaker 1: posts like that. She clicked like she likes that Blakeman
- 13:51Speaker 1: calling for a public apology from her and calling for
- 13:54Speaker 1: Hokel to do a probe of Mom Donnie's wife for
- 13:59Speaker 1: anti sem rhetoric. And it is anti Semitic and horrible.
- 14:03Speaker 1: So that's why you need Blakeman as governor. Hey, we'll
- 14:06Speaker 1: take some calls in a minute. Eight hundred three two
- 14:09Speaker 1: one zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three
- 14:13Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten E Liza Minelli new book
- 14:16Speaker 1: coming out, What's Out? You can get it now. It's
- 14:19Speaker 1: her autobiography, but she goes after a lot of people
- 14:22Speaker 1: in there, Gene Hackman. That's about how rude, vicious, nasty
- 14:27Speaker 1: this Gene Hackman was. Scorsese. She reveals they had a
- 14:31Speaker 1: torrid love affair during the making of New York, New
- 14:35Speaker 1: York the movie, and goes into real detail about his
- 14:38Speaker 1: drug use and it gets really ugly here. I don't
- 14:42Speaker 1: know what she was thinking, but we'll take some calls next.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
