- 0:00Speaker 1: We'll get to the baseball in a second. Some of
- 0:03Speaker 1: our Braves friends are on edge after a loss to
- 0:06Speaker 1: the Dodgers last night. Forrester's excited. I'm nervous. We'll talk
- 0:10Speaker 1: baseball in a moment. More college football tonight after a
- 0:14Speaker 1: guy named Goose was the star last night in college football.
- 0:18Speaker 1: A ton of stuff to get to on the college
- 0:20Speaker 1: front today, but we start, as always, with traffic and
- 0:24Speaker 1: weather on the ones. This weather situation in Tuscaloosa or
- 0:31Speaker 1: in the Gulf that could impact the game in Tuscaloosa
- 0:34Speaker 1: has become a big storyline around the country. And so
- 0:37Speaker 1: we're going to try to calm the nerves for a
- 0:40Speaker 1: second and let everybody know the weather has to play
- 0:44Speaker 1: itself out before you can make any decisions. One thing
- 0:47Speaker 1: that everybody wants to know. Yesterday is are you moving
- 0:52Speaker 1: the game? We're going to play the game. How is
- 0:54Speaker 1: it going to happen? Georgia and Alabama with this tropical
- 0:57Speaker 1: storm soon to be hurricane in the Gulf. And as
- 1:01Speaker 1: a lot of people pointed out to me, when you
- 1:04Speaker 1: guys wanted to know about the Alabama, Mississippi state weather
- 1:07Speaker 1: last Tuesday, when you guys were all saying it was
- 1:09Speaker 1: going to be a torrential downpour in Starkville on Tuesday,
- 1:13Speaker 1: the game ended up getting played in what? Sunshine. Beautiful day.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Gorgeous day. Weather can change by the time we get
- 1:19Speaker 1: to Saturday. Yeah, I don't trust these meteorologists. I told
- 1:22Speaker 1: you it's a coin flip most of the time. They
- 1:24Speaker 1: tend to get hurricanes right. Yeah, but these hurricanes can
- 1:26Speaker 1: be a coin flip because they can jog and oftentimes wobble.
- 1:31Speaker 1: A late movement changes everything.
- 1:32Speaker 2: You know, this has become a national story. This morning
- 1:34Speaker 2: I was on the way in and I was listening
- 1:36Speaker 2: to college sports, XM Sirius. I think it was Neuheisel
- 1:40Speaker 2: and Chowder's. And the first thing they updated when they
- 1:43Speaker 2: went to, you know, their their their girl that does
- 1:46Speaker 2: the updates was the weather in Tuscaloosa. So, I mean,
- 1:50Speaker 2: this has become a national story.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Weather in Tuscaloosa today. Perfect.
- 1:53Speaker 2: It's going to be perfect Friday when we're in.
- 1:55Speaker 1: That's right. We're going to be in industry. Perfect day Friday.
- 1:58Speaker 1: As usually is the case if you live on the
- 2:00Speaker 1: Gulf like we do or Gulf adjacent like we do.
- 2:04Speaker 1: oftentimes before these storms, the weather is perfect. Oh, yeah,
- 2:07Speaker 1: before and after. I mean, you get some beautiful days
- 2:09Speaker 1: after hurricanes come through. The latest model that I sent
- 2:14Speaker 1: Forrester was 7 a.m. Central Time, 8 a.m. Eastern from
- 2:19Speaker 1: Jason Simpson of WVTM Channel 13, both the NBC and
- 2:25Speaker 1: the CBS affiliates in Birmingham, Alabama. I'm not choosing sides
- 2:30Speaker 1: on the weather side. This is just the first one
- 2:32Speaker 1: I came across. And this was the 7 a.m. This
- 2:36Speaker 1: is what it looks like late Friday evening when landfall
- 2:39Speaker 1: happens on one projected model. But you see all the
- 2:42Speaker 1: other lines? Uh-huh. That's other models, which includes, by the way,
- 2:47Speaker 1: it hitting Panama City or going even further west and
- 2:52Speaker 1: never even coming close to impacting with severe weather Tuscaloosa, Alabama,
- 2:56Speaker 1: which is Which is why you have to wait to
- 2:58Speaker 1: make a call here.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Well, can we address the elephant in the room?
- 3:01Speaker 1: Which is?
- 3:02Speaker 2: Dunaway going to his first game as a fan since 2011.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I mean, it's been 15 years. Yeah, Jim, what are
- 3:07Speaker 1: you doing?
- 3:08Speaker 2: When you're in the press box, you're not going to
- 3:09Speaker 2: be affected by the elephants. But if you're going to
- 3:11Speaker 2: be sitting in the stands, like... We've never had a
- 3:13Speaker 2: hurricane with you in the press box that I'm aware of, Jim.
- 3:15Speaker 2: It's been some downpours.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Okay. Some torrential rains. Here's the thing, and this is
- 3:23Speaker 1: apparently important.
- 3:24Speaker 3: I don't know a lot about hurricanes.
- 3:26Speaker 1: But today, they started doing the planes that fly into
- 3:31Speaker 1: the hurricanes, which is apparently where you get your best data.
- 3:34Speaker 1: That's right. Of course.
- 3:35Speaker 2: We've known that forever.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I'm just telling you what I've read is that when
- 3:39Speaker 1: the planes fly in, the Hurricane Hunter planes, that's where
- 3:43Speaker 1: they really get the good data where they can start
- 3:45Speaker 1: to refine these forecasts. So whether it's Jason or James
- 3:48Speaker 1: Spann or Stephanie Walker in Birmingham, all these people, or
- 3:51Speaker 1: the Weather Channel people, They will always tell you it's
- 3:54Speaker 1: a little too early to start making because they're waiting
- 3:57Speaker 1: on these planes to fly in. So I think the
- 3:58Speaker 1: first one went in at 6 a.m. Central today. So
- 4:02Speaker 1: I would assume some of this data we're seeing now
- 4:04Speaker 1: is coming from that. Yeah. The reason I bring this
- 4:06Speaker 1: up is because everyone's asking, including the people I'm going
- 4:09Speaker 1: to the game with and I'm being gifted a ticket
- 4:11Speaker 1: and sitting with outside.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Are you thinking about not going?
- 4:16Speaker 1: They asked, is there a chance they'll move this game
- 4:19Speaker 1: to Mercedes-Benz in Atlanta? The protocol and the history of
- 4:24Speaker 1: the SEC, recent history, and the commissioner does have the
- 4:29Speaker 1: power working with Alabama to move this game, but the
- 4:34Speaker 1: most likely scenario is to move it either up to
- 4:37Speaker 1: Friday or the more likely scenario back until Sunday. If
- 4:41Speaker 1: the weather is going to be not safe for players
- 4:45Speaker 1: but also fans, then the protocol can kick in to
- 4:50Speaker 1: where they can adjust the time. Friday, it's happened in
- 4:52Speaker 1: the past. In 2022, the SEC moved up a game
- 4:57Speaker 1: to Friday and the same weekend moved a game back
- 4:59Speaker 1: to Sunday because of a hurricane impacting there. An SEC
- 5:05Speaker 1: game was actually moved from a Saturday to a Sunday
- 5:07Speaker 1: in 2016 that involved Georgia and South Carolina. So the game,
- 5:13Speaker 1: it'll take a lot to move it out of Tuscaloosa
- 5:16Speaker 1: somewhere else from what my sources tell me. I think
- 5:18Speaker 1: that is the lowest of the probabilities. Unless... God forbid,
- 5:23Speaker 1: and I hate to even speak this aloud, there is
- 5:25Speaker 1: damage in Tuscaloosa that would force that. You see what
- 5:28Speaker 1: I'm saying? Because one thing I have read about this
- 5:31Speaker 1: is this, they believe, could be a pretty big tornado
- 5:34Speaker 1: producer potentially.
- 5:35Speaker 3: That's right. Obviously, in this part of the country, we're
- 5:38Speaker 3: very familiar with that.
- 5:39Speaker 2: If Alabama fans and Georgia fans had their choice, Friday
- 5:43Speaker 2: or Sunday, I know high school football could get in
- 5:46Speaker 2: the way of some of this on Friday night, but
- 5:48Speaker 2: what direction do you think they would go? Because I
- 5:50Speaker 2: told you guys earlier today that I'm 100% in. I
- 5:53Speaker 2: will go to this game. It's on Friday night.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I think if you gave fans a vote right now,
- 5:58Speaker 1: Saturday looks dicey. We either move this to Sunday or
- 6:01Speaker 1: move it back to Friday. Friday would win in the landslide.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I think Friday for the fans would win. And probably
- 6:06Speaker 1: for the TV folks, too. Friday would win. Because of
- 6:09Speaker 1: the NFL, obviously. ESPN will have a Bama-Georgia game at
- 6:12Speaker 1: primetime on Friday night. Heck, yeah. Or ABC. Now, if
- 6:15Speaker 1: you're Kalen DeBoer or Kirby Smart. Is it Friday or
- 6:18Speaker 1: Sunday for you? If I'm Kalen, Friday is fine with
- 6:21Speaker 1: me because it's a bigger impact on the team that's
- 6:23Speaker 1: now got to travel a day early. I got to
- 6:25Speaker 1: scramble everything together. I got to get my team out
- 6:28Speaker 1: of their rhythm. If I'm Kalen DeBoer, we're sleeping in
- 6:31Speaker 1: our own beds. Boys, we're playing a day early.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Yeah, if it's Kirby, he's probably fighting for Sunday. Now,
- 6:35Speaker 2: what does it look like on the other side? Alabama's
- 6:39Speaker 2: got Tennessee. What does Georgia have next week?
- 6:42Speaker 1: That's a good question. Are they on Auburn? Yeah, that's right.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 1: So you've got both teams, short week, one at home,
- 6:49Speaker 1: one on the road. Is it Alabama-Tennessee already?
- 6:51Speaker 3: It is.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Isn't that crazy?
- 6:52Speaker 4: Wow.
- 6:53Speaker 1: How the season flies.
- 6:55Speaker 2: You probably could take on the NFL on Sunday night.
- 6:57Speaker 2: We talked about that Ravens-Falcons game.
- 6:58Speaker 1: That's what I was going to say. That's what I
- 7:00Speaker 1: would love to see, what Alabama-Georgia on a Sunday night,
- 7:03Speaker 1: if they kept it in primetime, if they didn't try
- 7:05Speaker 1: to play it during the middle of the day.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Now, Georgia fans would hate it because there are, I mean,
- 7:09Speaker 2: they're suffering, but there are a lot of Georgia-Falcons fans.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think in the state of Georgia, if you–
- 7:16Speaker 1: Are you more of a Georgia or a Falcons fan?
- 7:19Speaker 1: If you're a Georgia fan, you're more of a Georgia
- 7:20Speaker 1: fan than you are a Falcons fan.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Probably. I mean, if you're not a glutton for punishment, yeah.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I would love to see what Georgia-Alabama primetime on ABC
- 7:32Speaker 1: did against that Falcons. Who are they playing? Ravens.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Ravens without Lamar Jackson more than likely.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Falcons, no Lamar Jackson, Ravens game on NBC. I'd like
- 7:42Speaker 1: to see what that did nationally.
- 7:43Speaker 2: It'd be tight. You think it'd be tight, huh? Well,
- 7:46Speaker 2: Alabama and Mississippi State topped out at 5.5 or 6.5 million.
- 7:51Speaker 2: The ratings are down. At least it looks that way
- 7:53Speaker 2: to me.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Because I always thought the biggest game of the week
- 7:56Speaker 1: drew 8, 9, 10 million. The biggest game this past
- 7:59Speaker 1: week was Ohio State and Iowa. And it was 5.9 million.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Let's take away the fantasy football element of it. If
- 8:09Speaker 2: you have those numbers, what, number two versus number six,
- 8:13Speaker 2: you roll that out there and you hear Lamar Jackson's
- 8:16Speaker 2: not going to be playing.
- 8:17Speaker 1: I mean, if you're just a football fan, what's the
- 8:19Speaker 1: better problem? That would be in my promos all day
- 8:21Speaker 1: Saturday if I was ABC. Lamar's not playing. I remember.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I remember we've got Georgia-Alabama tomorrow night. Hey, y'all see
- 8:28Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson. He's not playing.
- 8:29Speaker 2: And I'm 100% if it's a Sunday night. Friday or Sunday,
- 8:32Speaker 2: I'm in.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Saturday, I'm not. Are you the same way? I'm probably
- 8:36Speaker 1: on my couch either way. I'm just going to be
- 8:37Speaker 1: blunt with you. I think I would do Friday or Sunday. Friday,
- 8:40Speaker 1: we're in Tuscaloosa, so it would be just hanging around
- 8:43Speaker 1: at that point. That's true. That does change things. We
- 8:44Speaker 1: were doing the show for minutes free Friday. That would
- 8:47Speaker 1: just mean cocktails until you go into the stadium on Friday.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Yeah, but when do we get to a point where, hey, look,
- 8:52Speaker 2: we have passed that number where we can't do it
- 8:55Speaker 2: on Friday?
- 8:55Speaker 3: Today.
- 8:56Speaker 1: You've got to make that call today because Georgia would
- 8:58Speaker 1: have to travel tomorrow. This is Wednesday. Georgia would have
- 9:00Speaker 1: to travel tomorrow. I think more, and I don't know
- 9:04Speaker 1: this for sure, this is no sourcing, it seems like
- 9:07Speaker 1: 48 hours ahead of the game time is when you
- 9:09Speaker 1: make a decision. So 6.30 tomorrow night is when you
- 9:13Speaker 1: make a decision. Not if you're moving it this way.
- 9:14Speaker 1: But you can't move it this way. Today is your
- 9:17Speaker 1: deadline to move it to Friday. There's zero... you would
- 9:20Speaker 1: have to tell Georgia so that they could travel on Thursday.
- 9:23Speaker 1: And that's not without its problems, which I'm sure, you know,
- 9:28Speaker 1: wherever the team stays probably could accommodate them Thursday night
- 9:32Speaker 1: just as easily as they could Friday. I guess.
- 9:34Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Yeah, if I'm shaking my crystal ball, I think it's
- 9:36Speaker 2: going to be fine on Saturday. And I think they'll play,
- 9:39Speaker 2: you know, 630 and everything will be fine.
- 9:41Speaker 1: That is actually the most likely. With rain, but they'll
- 9:44Speaker 1: play on Saturday. Yeah, it could not be great weather,
- 9:46Speaker 1: which is unfortunate for a game of this magnitude. Yeah,
- 9:49Speaker 1: but your point real quickly on the Marriott, we'll say
- 9:51Speaker 1: it's the Marriott on 280. Yeah, let's just pick that hotel.
- 9:54Speaker 1: And they had to move it up. Right. And all
- 9:56Speaker 1: of a sudden, George is coming in on Thursday and
- 9:58Speaker 1: not Friday. Do you like to be that person that's like, Mr. Johnson? Hey,
- 10:03Speaker 1: I know you're supposed to be okay tomorrow here in
- 10:05Speaker 1: room 723, but we're going to have to– we've got
- 10:09Speaker 1: your new hotel. We're moving you down to– You're in
- 10:12Speaker 1: Mountain Brook now at what used to be the Bohemian.
- 10:15Speaker 1: They changed their name. Another weird name. What is up
- 10:17Speaker 1: with that? Did they change it?
- 10:18Speaker 2: I didn't even know that.
- 10:19Speaker 5: I thought it was still the Grand Bohemian.
- 10:20Speaker 1: It was. They just recently changed it, and it's another
- 10:22Speaker 1: weird name. I don't know what to say. Don't worry
- 10:25Speaker 1: about it. It's a different name.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Anyway....
- 10:30Speaker 1: Hotel Wildemont. Yeah, I don't know what that is.
- 10:32Speaker 5: I don't know what that means.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Sounds like a movie that... A quirky movie I'd watch.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys remember this story. You
- 10:40Speaker 1: probably don't. But it was the biggest news story in
- 10:43Speaker 1: the world. And the 2000 election when we had the
- 10:47Speaker 1: recount going on, President Bush versus Vice President Gore. And
- 10:51Speaker 1: there was the recount going on. And it all was
- 10:53Speaker 1: centered in the state of Florida. And it was all
- 10:54Speaker 1: in Tallahassee. And Florida and Florida State played a game.
- 10:58Speaker 1: And they had to kick out all these people out
- 11:00Speaker 1: of these hotels. All these people were in covering the story,
- 11:04Speaker 1: and they were like, I'm sorry, Florida and Florida State
- 11:06Speaker 1: are played. Don't remember that. They're not surprised. It was
- 11:09Speaker 1: a huge deal. NBC and ABC and CBS and Fox
- 11:13Speaker 1: News and all these people are there. This is a
- 11:15Speaker 1: period piece joke, okay? But it was like, sorry, Chad,
- 11:18Speaker 1: you can't hang around. All right. How about a hidden
- 11:24Speaker 1: option E or F or wherever we are on all
- 11:26Speaker 1: these options? And this would be a ballsy move by
- 11:29Speaker 1: Kalen DeBoer. What if Kalen DeBoer came out today and said,
- 11:33Speaker 1: we don't know what's going to happen to Tuscaloosa. Let's
- 11:35Speaker 1: go play this game in Athens. We'll play in Athens.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Anywhere, anywhere.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think he's going to do that, bro.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Didn't hurt him last year.
- 11:43Speaker 2: But it could hurt him this year.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Why? Why?
- 11:46Speaker 1: Because it's on the road. He's got a better team
- 11:48Speaker 1: this year. He's got a better team this year than
- 11:50Speaker 1: he did last year. Yeah, but Georgia's got a better team, too.
- 11:51Speaker 1: But what if all the Alabama fans, they adjust their
- 11:55Speaker 1: tickets and get to go to the game? So it's
- 11:57Speaker 1: the Alabama crowd in Athens. Yeah, I mean, you're going
- 11:59Speaker 1: to have a pieced-together Athens crowd. It's not going to
- 12:02Speaker 1: be your typical Athens crowd. And boy, imagine the college
- 12:05Speaker 1: football playoff committee when they're like, guys, Alabama voluntarily moved
- 12:09Speaker 1: that game to the road. We're giving them, I mean,
- 12:12Speaker 1: that is the best win of the football season. This
- 12:14Speaker 1: is where Kalen DeBoer does his best work. You know this,
- 12:16Speaker 1: is against highly ranked teams.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Oh, there's no doubt. And again, Kirby has really, really
- 12:20Speaker 2: struggled in this matchup. But I just, that would be shocking.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Let's just be fair. Let's just move it to SoFi.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Oh, then that'd be a good trip because then Monday
- 12:30Speaker 2: night you get the Bills and the Rams.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Okay, I'm in on the going to the game. When
- 12:35Speaker 1: is the last time Alabama lost in Athens? I mean,
- 12:37Speaker 1: they haven't lost in Athens in forever.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 12:41Speaker 1: God, I can't even. Hang on. I've got to look
- 12:44Speaker 1: this up because I think, unless I'm missing a game,
- 12:48Speaker 1: I think this goes back to Gene Stallings, Jim. It might.
- 12:51Speaker 2: It might be 1990. Is that possible?
- 12:53Speaker 1: I think it is 1990, the last time Alabama lost
- 12:55Speaker 1: in Athens. Is that believable? I don't think that's possible.
- 12:58Speaker 1: It's 2003.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Okay.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I forgot about that era of Alabama football.
- 13:02Speaker 2: That's still a long time ago, though.
- 13:05Speaker 1: 23 years now. That's a Brody Quirrell team, because that's
- 13:08Speaker 1: what I was going to say, right? Was that Brody?
- 13:10Speaker 1: Should have been. I think that's Shula's first year. Yeah.
- 13:13Speaker 1: But Brody had some injuries. It could have been a
- 13:15Speaker 1: Spencer Pennington team for all I know. Yeah. All right.
- 13:18Speaker 1: So that's what we know and don't know. about the weather. Uh,
- 13:23Speaker 1: it's a wait and see, and we'll, we'll wait and
- 13:24Speaker 1: see what the rest of Alabama had a statement. They
- 13:26Speaker 1: sent out the sec had a statement. They sent out,
- 13:29Speaker 1: there's fake statements that are out there, but listen, find
- 13:34Speaker 1: your weather source and trust only that weather source, Alabama
- 13:37Speaker 1: athletics with that right there closely. They did the old
- 13:40Speaker 1: closely monitoring the weather forecast ahead of Saturday. Stay tuned

- 15:20Speaker 1: the White Sox. Guardians, White Sox. First game out of
- 15:23Speaker 1: the gate, White Sox lead 2-0. White Sox a minus
- 15:26Speaker 1: 120 favorite to close out that series.
- 15:30Speaker 2: More on that in a second. Dodgers trying to close
- 15:33Speaker 2: out the Braves.
- 15:34Speaker 1: 5 o'clock central on FS1. Dodgers a heavy minus 149
- 15:39Speaker 1: favorite with Glass now on the hill to close that out.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Tampa Bay trying to finish off the Yankees. in Yankee Stadium,
- 15:49Speaker 1: an even bigger Yankees favorite tonight, minus 167 with Freed
- 15:53Speaker 1: on the hill.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Yeah, and Max Freed, I mean, he's going to demand
- 15:56Speaker 2: a big prize, especially with the situation they're in right here.
- 15:58Speaker 2: And then the Brewers and Padres, that series getting tighter
- 16:02Speaker 2: last night with the San Diego win, a virtual pick-em,
- 16:04Speaker 2: San Diego a slight favorite, minus 115 tonight, the last game.
- 16:08Speaker 2: What we saw yesterday, Dodgers-Braves played out the way I
- 16:12Speaker 2: thought it was going to play, and I'm sure U2-LT played,
- 16:15Speaker 2: It's just the Dodgers missed a lot of opportunities in
- 16:17Speaker 2: the first three innings to make that even a bigger blowout.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Well, Dubon, that play in the third, man.
- 16:22Speaker 2: I mean, a full sprint, a short porch over there,
- 16:25Speaker 2: but robbed a two-run homer from Freddie Freeman. And that
- 16:29Speaker 2: was one of those moments you're like, damn, this is
- 16:31Speaker 2: probably the Braves' night when he made that catch. but
- 16:34Speaker 2: Dodgers get the two-run shot from Kiki Hernandez. They get
- 16:38Speaker 2: the solo shot from Freddie Freeman, and Yamamoto was unbelievable
- 16:41Speaker 2: with the 10 Ks and seven innings, and he has
- 16:43Speaker 2: just been lights out in the postseason.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Well, and it feels like, you guys correct me if
- 16:46Speaker 1: I'm wrong, just watching from afar here, it feels like
- 16:49Speaker 1: the Dodgers stars, by and large, have showed up for
- 16:51Speaker 1: this series.
- 16:53Speaker 2: By and large, yeah.
- 16:54Speaker 1: And the Braves' biggest star, Ronald Acuna, has not.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I mean, Shohei is really, really struggling, and he's always
- 17:00Speaker 2: struggled against Chris Sell, but Mookie Betts is playing... Great.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Freddie Freeman's playing great.
- 17:05Speaker 1: But on the Acuna side, this guy has been a
- 17:07Speaker 1: non-factor in this series.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I didn't realize he has not hit a postseason home
- 17:11Speaker 2: run since 2020, I think, or 2018.
- 17:15Speaker 1: And if I heard Walt Weiss right, because Acuna did
- 17:18Speaker 1: not play in the field yesterday.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Might have been 2020.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Acuna did not play in the field yesterday. If I
- 17:21Speaker 1: heard Walt Weiss right, he said it was because Acuna
- 17:24Speaker 1: told him he was a little bit sore in the playoffs.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody's sore.
- 17:29Speaker 1: You can't play in the field in the playoffs because
- 17:31Speaker 1: you're sore? I mean, how soft is this guy? That
- 17:34Speaker 1: is stunning to me. And I call him the Braves'
- 17:39Speaker 1: biggest star. Perhaps he's not. But he seems like he
- 17:41Speaker 1: should be if he's not. Dubon kid has played all
- 17:44Speaker 1: over the place. Kid, he may be 32.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Yeah, utility can do it all.
- 17:49Speaker 1: They're all kids to us. He's been really good.
- 17:53Speaker 2: But to your point, Brown, Acuna is hitting 143 in
- 17:57Speaker 2: the postseason. Matt Olsen, 174. Michael Harris has been the
- 18:00Speaker 2: bright spot. Yeah, Magic Mike.
- 18:02Speaker 1: He's probably been your biggest star in the postseason.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Austin Riley's hitting 105.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Riley's been that way all year long. He's been
- 18:08Speaker 1: a strikeout machine after getting a big contract.
- 18:11Speaker 2: But even Sell wasn't good yesterday.
- 18:13Speaker 1: But he battled. They got out. I mean, I think
- 18:15Speaker 1: in this series, I think I saw the stat with
- 18:18Speaker 1: innings still to play yesterday. At one point, I think
- 18:21Speaker 1: about the sixth or seventh inning, they put up a
- 18:23Speaker 1: stat that said 42 runners have been left on base
- 18:26Speaker 1: in scoring position. And... and both teams have missed opportunities
- 18:31Speaker 1: to really rack up some runs. But Dodgers with a
- 18:35Speaker 1: heavy favorite today with Glass now on the hill against
- 18:38Speaker 1: the Braves, 6 o'clock Eastern, 5 o'clock on FS1. For
- 18:43Speaker 1: Forrester's White Sox, if they were to win today or
- 18:47Speaker 1: tomorrow to clinch this series, it would be the first time,
- 18:51Speaker 1: and Forrester told me this last week, I read it
- 18:53Speaker 1: this morning, but he told me this last week, if
- 18:55Speaker 1: they clinch at home, It'll be the first time they've
- 18:58Speaker 1: clinched a series at home since 1906. I said this yesterday,
- 19:04Speaker 1: and you looked directly at me, and you didn't even respond. Well,
- 19:06Speaker 1: Forrester told me yesterday. He told me earlier in the week.
- 19:10Speaker 1: But 1906. That's crazy. And the White Sox, four road games.
- 19:15Speaker 1: This is their first home. It's a 3 o'clock Central,
- 19:17Speaker 1: 4 Eastern, but 3 o'clock in Chicago, Forrester. But I
- 19:20Speaker 1: would imagine the scene is going to be crazy there today,
- 19:25Speaker 1: don't you expect? Yeah, I really wish this was in primetime,
- 19:28Speaker 1: but that place is going to be wild. No, it
- 19:31Speaker 1: can't be in primetime because the Yankees are playing. Yeah,
- 19:33Speaker 1: the Yankees are actually still breathing. Believe me. But it's
- 19:38Speaker 1: going to be off the chain. Well, good luck to
- 19:43Speaker 1: your team today. Tampa Bay and the Yankees tonight. And
- 19:45Speaker 1: then fun game last night. That San Diego crowd made
- 19:48Speaker 1: it fun. oh yeah brewers and padres last night so
- 19:50Speaker 1: those are your odds there at hard rock bet hard
- 19:54Speaker 1: rock bet don't forget you can download the app and
- 19:56Speaker 1: it helps us out when you go to hard rock
- 19:58Speaker 1: dot bet backslash clay two college football games tonight jack
- 20:02Speaker 1: state a three-point favorite at kenesaw big c little cks FIU,
- 20:07Speaker 1: a six-and-a-half-point favorite at home to New Mexico State. In
- 20:10Speaker 1: that game tonight, it is Miami Vice game for the
- 20:14Speaker 1: team down in Miami, and they've got this unique. They'll
- 20:17Speaker 1: use all the colors from Miami Vice back in the day,
- 20:20Speaker 1: and the field will be painted the Miami Vice colors.
- 20:24Speaker 1: It's an annual tradition there in the powerhouse that is
- 20:27Speaker 1: FIU football. So they'll go with the Miami Vice colors tonight.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I don't hate it.
- 20:32Speaker 2: If I hear all the attorneys and sororities will dress
- 20:35Speaker 2: up in their linen and their T-shirts and all the pastels.
- 20:40Speaker 1: The old Crockett and Tubbs parties going on. Did you
- 20:43Speaker 1: guys watch it back in the day? I loved Miami Vice.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I brought it back for Jack not long ago.
- 20:47Speaker 2: And then I watched the movie. Michael Mann, I'm a
- 20:49Speaker 2: big fan of his. But the Colin Farrell slash Jamie Foxx,
- 20:53Speaker 2: it's not good at all.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I did not watch it back in the day.
- 20:57Speaker 5: Well, they're remaking it with Michael B. Jordan, and I
- 21:00Speaker 5: forget who else is going to be in it.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Oh, I saw that, too. You're talking about the movie.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:04Speaker 5: They're remaking the movie.
- 21:05Speaker 2: I think the show would be a good reboot on, like, Netflix. Yeah.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Well, you know, I never remember the name of the show,
- 21:13Speaker 1: but it was a short-run HBO show, and the first
- 21:15Speaker 1: two seasons was good. Was it called Magic City? Yeah,
- 21:18Speaker 1: we watched it. I don't think it was HBO. It
- 21:19Speaker 1: was on Starz. Starz, that's right. Starz, okay. I thought
- 21:22Speaker 1: it was on HBO. It canceled abruptly.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Yeah. I think we've got two good seasons.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I liked it.
- 21:27Speaker 3: I don't think Lance liked it.
- 21:28Speaker 2: No, I did. I thought it was pretty good. I mean,
- 21:31Speaker 2: it was, you know, the growth of Miami and organized crime. Yeah.
- 21:35Speaker 3: It was interesting.
- 21:36Speaker 1: That was more interesting to me than Miami Vice.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I mean, Miami Vice was cheesy, but network television back
- 21:41Speaker 2: then in the 80s was really, really cheesy.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Yeah, very much so. All right. We're off and rolling.
- 21:45Speaker 1: We get to Aaron Murray when we come back next
- 21:47Speaker 1: right here on the next round presented by Hard Rock
- 21:50Speaker 1: Bet on Sporting State. I mean this as a compliment,
- 21:53Speaker 1: but Aaron Murray seems like a guy who could throw
- 21:55Speaker 1: wet balls. Okay.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Do you have to practice that a lot, Aaron? Well,
- 21:59Speaker 1: that's one way to start an interview. Well, I mean,
- 22:01Speaker 1: we got Georgia, Alabama this weekend. That's all everybody's talking about.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Can Keelan Russell throw a wet ball? Aaron, take that one.
- 22:07Speaker 1: What do you got?
- 22:09Speaker 3: I cannot throw a wet ball. I would much rather
- 22:11Speaker 3: it be 30 miles per hour wind than throwing a
- 22:14Speaker 3: football that was soaking wet. And this is coming from
- 22:16Speaker 3: someone who grew up in Florida and Tampa and But
- 22:19Speaker 3: crazy enough, two-year starter in high school in Tampa, four-year
- 22:22Speaker 3: starter at Georgia, never, never dealt with rain.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Ever.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Not one time. Are you kidding? Crazy.
- 22:30Speaker 1: You've started more games than just about anybody in SEC history.
- 22:32Speaker 1: That's crazy you never played a rain game.
- 22:35Speaker 3: My freshman year, when Joe Cox was a starter, it
- 22:39Speaker 3: was pouring pretty good. We played Arizona State at home
- 22:41Speaker 3: in Sanford. Um, so like obviously on the sidelines for
- 22:44Speaker 3: that one, but yet never a game. I guess the,
- 22:48Speaker 3: the bowl game, my freshman year, the fourth quarter, it
- 22:51Speaker 3: started coming down a little bit, but like, yeah, that was,
- 22:54Speaker 3: that was pretty much it of what was that 50
- 22:56Speaker 3: plus starts in my career. Uh, never once did I
- 22:59Speaker 3: have to worry about the weather.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Well, I was going to ask you this and maybe
- 23:01Speaker 2: it it doesn't pertain to you because you never worried
- 23:04Speaker 2: about the weather, but like, are there two different game
- 23:07Speaker 2: plans that, that Kirby and Kalen are, are installing right now?
- 23:11Speaker 2: Like one for, Hey, we're going to have normal conditions
- 23:14Speaker 2: in one. We might have this deluge and we've got
- 23:17Speaker 2: to change the game plan altogether.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Is that a thing?
- 23:20Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. A hundred percent. I think it's for both,
- 23:22Speaker 3: obviously for both sides of the football, because defensively, you know,
- 23:25Speaker 3: if you're Georgia in this game, you're thinking about all
- 23:27Speaker 3: the explosive ability of Alabama's offense and, Obviously, same thing
- 23:30Speaker 3: for Alabama's defense looking at Georgia, especially what they did
- 23:33Speaker 3: last week for Spannerbilt. You look and say, like, how
- 23:35Speaker 3: many shots are these guys willing to take down the
- 23:38Speaker 3: field if the ball's wet? So can we be a
- 23:40Speaker 3: little bit more aggressive to try and stop the run?
- 23:43Speaker 3: And a lot of it depends on the quarterback. So,
- 23:44Speaker 3: you know, as a coaching staff, you're out there. All
- 23:47Speaker 3: these guys are looking at the other team in pregame warmups.
- 23:50Speaker 3: So you're watching the other quarterback. How's he throwing the football?
- 23:52Speaker 3: How's he handling the snap? And you take that all
- 23:55Speaker 3: into account and say like, Hey man, like the ball
- 23:57Speaker 3: did not look good coming out of his hands or,
- 23:59Speaker 3: you know, man, I've seen plenty of quarterbacks that actually
- 24:02Speaker 3: someone threw the ball better when it was a little
- 24:04Speaker 3: bit wet. You know, most of those guys had big
- 24:06Speaker 3: 10 inch plus hands can handle it. They don't really
- 24:08Speaker 3: bother them, especially a college football that is not as
- 24:11Speaker 3: big as an NFL football. So you take that to account,
- 24:14Speaker 3: you adjust. But yeah, for me, if it was raining,
- 24:17Speaker 3: I'd be telling Bobo, like, dude, let's just run this football. hell,
- 24:20Speaker 3: I'll run the football 10 to 12 times if we
- 24:22Speaker 3: have to. And I'll be like, well, Georgia, they've run
- 24:25Speaker 3: all these screen passes. Well, that's not easy to do
- 24:28Speaker 3: because you're trying to catch the football and get out
- 24:30Speaker 3: of your hands quickly. A lot of times you don't
- 24:33Speaker 3: have the laces throwing it, which makes it even more
- 24:35Speaker 3: slick as a quarterback as well. So it's quarterback by quarterback.
- 24:40Speaker 3: I'm sure they're doing a lot of drills this week
- 24:41Speaker 3: to figure out who can throw it, what kind of
- 24:43Speaker 3: throw can you handle, and then you adjust the game
- 24:46Speaker 3: plan from there.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Okay, for those that have never gone through the practice,
- 24:50Speaker 1: What is a wet ball practice? Is this where they're
- 24:53Speaker 1: dipping the ball in buckets and tossing it to you? Yeah.
- 24:57Speaker 3: I mean, they literally, you know, they'll do it in
- 24:59Speaker 3: the warmups. They may even do it in the practice.
- 25:00Speaker 3: But when you're going through your quarterback drills, they'll have
- 25:03Speaker 3: a bucket or a trash can that's filled with water.
- 25:06Speaker 3: And the football's just hanging out in there. And they'll
- 25:08Speaker 3: just grab them, throw it to you, catch it, bam. So, yeah,
- 25:12Speaker 3: you got to get used to it. And I said,
- 25:14Speaker 3: if some guys have it, some guys don't. And it's
- 25:17Speaker 3: something that you can try and work on. during the week,
- 25:19Speaker 3: but you're not going to get that much better in
- 25:21Speaker 3: five days throwing a wet football.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Would it help if I had a hose?
- 25:26Speaker 1: Would it help if I had a hose and I
- 25:28Speaker 1: was spraying you in the face too, like while you
- 25:31Speaker 1: were trying to throw? It's not a game show. Yeah.
- 25:34Speaker 3: I mean, I think you're more worried about some of
- 25:36Speaker 3: these Chris Cole and company trying to hit you and
- 25:38Speaker 3: take your head off in the rain. It's more just
- 25:41Speaker 3: finding a grip on it, securing the football. But I mean,
- 25:44Speaker 3: it's not just for quarterbacks. It's for everyone who touches
- 25:46Speaker 3: the football. you know, those guys on the outside, a
- 25:48Speaker 3: lot of them are going to take the gloves off.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Obviously running the football, got to mostly keep two hands
- 25:53Speaker 3: on it, really keep it in tight. You don't want
- 25:55Speaker 3: it to be out there. And, you know, obviously defensively too,
- 25:58Speaker 3: I was talking with Brandon Boykin and champ Bailey about
- 26:00Speaker 3: this yesterday. We do, we do a local show here
- 26:02Speaker 3: in Atlanta and like they feast on these games because
- 26:05Speaker 3: they are coming out punching over and over and over again.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Obviously it makes it a little bit difficult for the
- 26:10Speaker 3: defensive backs to keep their footing, which is something they
- 26:12Speaker 3: got to work with on that side. But From a
- 26:15Speaker 3: turnover standpoint, you'll see even more guys trying to punch
- 26:18Speaker 3: balls out than normal in this one.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I know you love to watch good tape, so I
- 26:23Speaker 1: want you to be the next guy to tell us
- 26:25Speaker 1: what you've seen from Keelan Russell from the Kentucky start
- 26:29Speaker 1: to what he did at Mississippi State this past week.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Where has he improved?
- 26:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I think he's been terrific all season.
- 26:37Speaker 3: I haven't seen these massive strides just because I think
- 26:40Speaker 3: he's played really good from the start. I mean, for
- 26:42Speaker 3: that first game, the guys showed me the willingness to
- 26:45Speaker 3: be a passer first, to stand in the pocket, the accuracy,
- 26:49Speaker 3: the decision-making. I think the decision-making, obviously taking care of
- 26:51Speaker 3: the football, something that you hope a young quarterback continues
- 26:54Speaker 3: to get better at during his time, so that would
- 26:56Speaker 3: be one area. But he's always been a good thrower
- 26:58Speaker 3: of the football. He's always had a strong arm. He's
- 26:59Speaker 3: always been an elite athlete. There is one thing, I
- 27:02Speaker 3: did a film breakdown of him from this past weekend's game.
- 27:05Speaker 3: There's one area that I do think that he needs
- 27:07Speaker 3: to get better at. Certain times, and I had this
- 27:11Speaker 3: on the YouTube channel, certain times in the pocket, he'll
- 27:14Speaker 3: turn his shoulders when he's moving to face the line
- 27:17Speaker 3: of scrimmage. And you just can't really do much from
- 27:19Speaker 3: that position as a quarterback. Sometimes you have to, don't
- 27:22Speaker 3: get me wrong, and you're trying to move around guys.
- 27:24Speaker 3: But the few times that he did have to do it,
- 27:27Speaker 3: I did not think that he had to naturally turn
- 27:29Speaker 3: his entire body to move. Keep that front shoulder down
- 27:32Speaker 3: the field, move up, then out. And that way you're
- 27:36Speaker 3: able to throw the football with a little bit more
- 27:37Speaker 3: accuracy and you get the ball out quickly as well.
- 27:39Speaker 3: So to me, that would be my one tip for
- 27:42Speaker 3: him is just work on his footwork a little bit.
- 27:44Speaker 3: not squaring up to the line of scrimmage. But other
- 27:46Speaker 3: than that, he has been, man, he has been everything,
- 27:49Speaker 3: if not more, from the quarterback position. I mean, he's
- 27:52Speaker 3: my number two quarterback in the SEC and probably my
- 27:55Speaker 3: number two quarterback maybe in all of college football right now.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Aaron, well, I now have to ask this. This is
- 27:59Speaker 1: not my question, who number one is. Aaron Murray will
- 28:01Speaker 1: be at the Tennessee-Arkansas game, where there has been a
- 28:04Speaker 1: quarterback change, by the way, 315 SEC Network on Saturday.
- 28:08Speaker 1: So who's your number one before I ask my question?
- 28:11Speaker 3: Trinidad. Trinidad is number one still.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought so.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, even that loss, he played terrific. They just,
- 28:17Speaker 3: you know, that team without Lacey is so different on offense.
- 28:21Speaker 3: There's such a drop off from one to two when
- 28:24Speaker 3: it comes to running backs. They don't have the stable
- 28:25Speaker 3: running backs like Georgia has or that Alabama has or
- 28:28Speaker 3: some of these other teams. I mean, I put Texas
- 28:30Speaker 3: into that category, too. Like I saw a drop off
- 28:33Speaker 3: when Hollywood wasn't playing. to the rest of their guys.
- 28:37Speaker 3: And I know the number two guy, the kid from
- 28:38Speaker 3: Arizona State, he's pretty good. Names dropped me for a
- 28:41Speaker 3: quick second. But he's pretty good, but he's not Hollywood.
- 28:45Speaker 3: So Ole Miss needs that.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Sometimes on the other side of this, people talk about
- 28:50Speaker 1: Gunnar Stockton like he's great value Stetson Bennett sometimes. And
- 28:54Speaker 1: I just... i feel like georgia and kirby smart have
- 28:57Speaker 1: just conditioned us to think this is always the quarterback
- 28:59Speaker 1: you're going to have so maybe i mean am i
- 29:02Speaker 1: you live over there so am i wrong about that
- 29:04Speaker 1: that that's kind of the way this guy gets viewed sometimes.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Yeah listen and listen i had i had georgia last
- 29:10Speaker 3: week and that was one of my first questions and
- 29:12Speaker 3: i'm trying to like ask it to to kirby in
- 29:14Speaker 3: a way that i'm not because i i love gunner
- 29:17Speaker 3: i think gunner's a great quarterback but my kirby like
- 29:19Speaker 3: you look over the past decade Nick Saban changed his model.
- 29:23Speaker 3: He didn't need elite quarterback play to win championships, but
- 29:25Speaker 3: then all of a sudden, he started to get that
- 29:27Speaker 3: towards the end of his time in Alabama. Obviously, Clemson
- 29:30Speaker 3: always had elite first-round quarterbacks. When I say elite, Gunnar
- 29:34Speaker 3: is in that elite college status, but I don't think
- 29:36Speaker 3: many people view Gunner as a first-round NFL draft pick.
- 29:39Speaker 3: But Alabama had that in the late 2016 and on,
- 29:43Speaker 3: 2017 and on. Obviously, Clemson had that. All these teams
- 29:47Speaker 3: that are vying for championships seem to have a lot
- 29:49Speaker 3: of them that are winning it have first-round quarterbacks. You
- 29:52Speaker 3: have won championships without a first-round quarterback. You have a
- 29:55Speaker 3: quarterback this year that's not deemed a first-round quarterback. yet
- 29:58Speaker 3: you're a team that looks like they can compete for
- 30:00Speaker 3: a championship once again. And he kind of was like,
- 30:02Speaker 3: you know, it's a team game. It's a team game.
- 30:05Speaker 3: You know, we don't need a first-round quarterback. Gunner's terrific.
- 30:08Speaker 3: And I agree with all those points as well. Like,
- 30:10Speaker 3: I think Gunner is a very, very good college football quarterback,
- 30:14Speaker 3: a guy that, you know, has an opportunity to maybe
- 30:15Speaker 3: get drafted, you know, fourth, fifth round on in the NFL. But,
- 30:18Speaker 3: you know, he takes care of the football. He's gritty.
- 30:21Speaker 3: He's a great leader. He makes guys around him better.
- 30:24Speaker 3: There's no doubt about it. There's respect in that locker room.
- 30:27Speaker 3: But he did show me something last week. I was
- 30:29Speaker 3: on the call for that game versus Vanderbilt, and I
- 30:31Speaker 3: know he could push the ball vertically down the field.
- 30:34Speaker 3: That was never a question for me. But the accuracy
- 30:37Speaker 3: in which he did it a week ago, the ability
- 30:39Speaker 3: to layer the football, he had won to a tight
- 30:42Speaker 3: end off play action where he play action, really didn't
- 30:45Speaker 3: even take a drop, no hitch, bam, threw it down
- 30:48Speaker 3: the seam, up and over a linebacker before the safety
- 30:50Speaker 3: could make a play, threw it back shoulder where the
- 30:52Speaker 3: guy could protect himself. I'm like, that's the type of
- 30:55Speaker 3: play I want to see from Gunner. along with the
- 30:58Speaker 3: down the field accuracy. So, you know, he impressed me
- 31:00Speaker 3: a lot live. Obviously, I think he's a really, really
- 31:03Speaker 3: good quarterback and, you know, surrounded by a great team
- 31:06Speaker 3: that is going to be dangerous all year long.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Last year, this Georgia offense was run the football, screen
- 31:11Speaker 2: it to Zachariah. Zachariah Branch, 81 grabs, you know, this
- 31:15Speaker 2: Georgia single season record. This year, I would be shocked
- 31:18Speaker 2: outside of Georgia fans if anybody could name two receivers
- 31:22Speaker 2: for the Georgia Bulldogs. Is there going to ultimately be
- 31:25Speaker 2: an established guy? And if there is, who is that guy?
- 31:29Speaker 3: I think it's talent, Taylor. I do think that there
- 31:31Speaker 3: is a connection between those two guys. I thought he's
- 31:34Speaker 3: played well this year. Bobo has been able to move
- 31:36Speaker 3: him around a little bit, get some jet sweeps as well,
- 31:39Speaker 3: find creative ways. I really like the Dan Wright Dan's right.
- 31:44Speaker 3: The freshman receiver, I think he's got some elite speed
- 31:46Speaker 3: on the outside. Obviously, we know about these tight ends.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Impressed with Dwight Phillip Jr. and his ability to catch.
- 31:52Speaker 3: The guy that Bobo did talk a lot about last
- 31:55Speaker 3: week was Isaiah Canyon, the transfer from Georgia Tech. Obviously,
- 31:59Speaker 3: has not played a lot this year, but he said,
- 32:01Speaker 3: you'll go back and watch the tape from the first
- 32:02Speaker 3: few games when he wasn't there. He just commands a
- 32:06Speaker 3: different level of attention from defenses. size, running ability, all that.
- 32:10Speaker 3: I know they're excited to hopefully get him back, you know,
- 32:13Speaker 3: hopefully this weekend, if not afterwards, just to add to it.
- 32:16Speaker 3: But yeah, right now it's everyone. Like I said, it's
- 32:19Speaker 3: the running backs, it's the receivers, it's the tight ends,
- 32:24Speaker 3: which I think makes this offense very difficult. I still
- 32:26Speaker 3: think it's a run first offense, especially when Nate Frazier
- 32:30Speaker 3: is healthy. They want to run the football first. But
- 32:32Speaker 3: then from there, it's kind of pick your poison. Like
- 32:34Speaker 3: whose game is it going to be? Is it going
- 32:36Speaker 3: to be the tight ends? Is it going to be
- 32:37Speaker 3: the receivers? Is it going to be the backs out
- 32:39Speaker 3: of the backfield catching as well? So a well-balanced offense,
- 32:42Speaker 3: which is a nightmare for most DCs.
- 32:44Speaker 1: I think Kirby meant this as a compliment about Keelan
- 32:49Speaker 1: because at his time at Alabama, he struggled as a
- 32:52Speaker 1: coordinator with quarterbacks who could get off script. And when
- 32:56Speaker 1: asked about defending Keelan, he called it backyard ball. He
- 33:00Speaker 1: can scramble and add time. He's got the threat. of
- 33:03Speaker 1: running through the whole defense. Why is that such a
- 33:05Speaker 1: problem for not only Kirby, but most defensive coordinators?
- 33:10Speaker 3: I'll say this about Keelan, though. Yes, he has it
- 33:13Speaker 3: as a part of his game, but it's not the
- 33:15Speaker 3: main part of his game. This guy can truly win
- 33:19Speaker 3: taking a three-step drop, getting through his reads, finding his
- 33:22Speaker 3: check down. I think that's just an add-on. There are
- 33:26Speaker 3: certain guys that need to play that backyard football, like
- 33:28Speaker 3: the Johnny Manziels of the world, like Lenore's. you know,
- 33:32Speaker 3: truly is at his best when he's either bootlegging on
- 33:35Speaker 3: the run, being creative. I still think Keelan is his
- 33:38Speaker 3: best inside the pocket. Uh, some of those back shoulder
- 33:41Speaker 3: throws he threw last week. Obviously we all talk about
- 33:43Speaker 3: that third down one, but the one to Ryan Williams
- 33:46Speaker 3: on the left side, uh, the two on the right,
- 33:48Speaker 3: the one for the touchdown, uh, to, to Rico Scott,
- 33:51Speaker 3: like he is, he is a terrific thrower of the football.
- 33:54Speaker 3: And I think that's the, I think that makes him
- 33:56Speaker 3: even more dangerous when he does run because as a defense,
- 33:59Speaker 3: you watch all these highlights of him pushing the ball
- 34:01Speaker 3: vertically down the field, the speed of these receivers. So
- 34:04Speaker 3: you kind of have to latch on and you can't
- 34:06Speaker 3: take your eyes off the receivers and covering those guys 15, 20,
- 34:09Speaker 3: 25 yards down the field. So you're stuck on them.
- 34:13Speaker 3: And all of a sudden you got this guy that
- 34:14Speaker 3: runs a four, four, four, five. And then when he
- 34:16Speaker 3: wants to run, he's gone. I mean, it is like one, two, three,
- 34:20Speaker 3: like that bootleg last week. It was once covered, two's covered.
- 34:24Speaker 3: puts the foot on the ground, and as soon as
- 34:26Speaker 3: he gets north, there's no chance you're going to stop him,
- 34:29Speaker 3: especially in the red area. So I think that's the
- 34:32Speaker 3: more dangerous part of him is the fact that it
- 34:34Speaker 3: is elite quarterback play in the pocket. Then I could
- 34:38Speaker 3: play backyard football after that.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Okay, before you go, you will be doing Tennessee-Arkansas. It
- 34:42Speaker 1: appears you'll be seeing George McIntyre make the start instead
- 34:45Speaker 1: of Faison Brandon. What do you expect out of McIntyre,
- 34:48Speaker 1: and does your gut tell you we may be seeing
- 34:50Speaker 1: this all season long?
- 34:52Speaker 3: Ah, I, I, I, I hope not. And that's nothing
- 34:55Speaker 3: against George McIntyre. You know, I think, I think phase
- 34:58Speaker 3: on is a terrific young quarterback and, you know, I'm
- 35:00Speaker 3: hoping that, you know, he did not lose confidence too
- 35:04Speaker 3: much after that Texas game. You know, he was definitely
- 35:05Speaker 3: gun shy that game. He was gun shy versus Auburn
- 35:08Speaker 3: a week ago. The ball is just late. That interception,
- 35:10Speaker 3: that ball should have been out, you know, a second
- 35:12Speaker 3: before he threw it. And it probably would have been
- 35:14Speaker 3: a completion. He's just not seeing it. You know, the, the,
- 35:17Speaker 3: the speed of the game is a little bit too
- 35:18Speaker 3: much for him right now. But the talent's there. There's
- 35:21Speaker 3: no doubt. So when you talk about the future of
- 35:23Speaker 3: Tennessee football, I do believe he is that guy. But,
- 35:26Speaker 3: you know, when, when, when, when my guitar came in there,
- 35:28Speaker 3: like you sold the ball in time, he was accurate
- 35:30Speaker 3: with the football. So for right now, it may be
- 35:33Speaker 3: the best decision, but I think for the longevity of
- 35:35Speaker 3: the season, I would love to see phase on back
- 35:38Speaker 3: in the starting lineup, but this is a very different
- 35:40Speaker 3: Tennessee team. You know, I was watching the tape. I
- 35:43Speaker 3: was like, man, like I've, I don't know if I've
- 35:45Speaker 3: ever seen Tennessee in this much 12 personnel. So, You know,
- 35:48Speaker 3: went back and looked at the stats, 46 snaps a
- 35:50Speaker 3: week ago in 12 personnel, which is the second most
- 35:53Speaker 3: that he's been in during his time at Tennessee. The
- 35:56Speaker 3: number one was back in 2024 against Mississippi State. So
- 36:00Speaker 3: it's a team that is not, you know, the traditional
- 36:03Speaker 3: spread you out receivers on the sideline kind of thing.
- 36:06Speaker 3: It is 12 personnel. You know, they get heavy with
- 36:09Speaker 3: a 60 offense alignment at times and they just want
- 36:12Speaker 3: to run the football. So I expect that's going to
- 36:14Speaker 3: be the MO this year of, hey, our offensive line
- 36:17Speaker 3: is better at run than they are in pass pro.
- 36:20Speaker 3: We have a terrific running back. We got physical tight
- 36:22Speaker 3: ends and we have a really good defense and a
- 36:24Speaker 3: really good front seven defensively that can stop teams. And
- 36:27Speaker 3: they've done that the past couple of weeks against Texas
- 36:29Speaker 3: and obviously against Auburn as well. So. I think Heupel
- 36:32Speaker 3: is playing to his team right now, so I think
- 36:35Speaker 3: they're going to be taking some pressure off whoever the
- 36:37Speaker 3: quarterback is going forward.
- 36:38Speaker 1: All right, that is 3.15 Central Time on the SEC Network.
- 36:41Speaker 1: You'll see Aaron and the crew there in Fayetteville. Thank
- 36:44Speaker 1: you for the time, Aaron. Have a great weekend. Enjoy
- 36:46Speaker 1: the games. Appreciate it, guys.
- 36:47Speaker 3: Stay dry.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll try. Thank you. Aaron Murray with us on
- 36:51Speaker 1: the Alexander Shannara Trial Attorneys Hotline. Yeah, and the show

- 37:38Speaker 1: that's C-R-O-C-K-E-T-T. CrockettCoffee.com. CrockettCoffee.com. I mean, you sensed a little
- 37:48Speaker 1: bit from Aaron Murray there that he, as a quarterback,
- 37:51Speaker 1: he wanted to be really quick to say, No, no, no.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Keelan is– the backyard ball is secondary to him. And
- 38:00Speaker 1: I know why Kirby said it because that's the part
- 38:03Speaker 1: that's hard to defend because if we've got everything covered,
- 38:07Speaker 1: he can still run out the back door. But it's
- 38:11Speaker 1: not backyard Bo. We used to call Bo Nix backyard Bo.
- 38:15Speaker 1: I mean, he didn't know what was going on there.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Johnny Menzel, I see the backyard– thing on Johnny Manziel
- 38:20Speaker 1: this looks nothing like.
- 38:21Speaker 2: That yeah and you brought it up yesterday back to
- 38:23Speaker 2: that third and 18 the back shoulder throw where young
- 38:26Speaker 2: quarterbacks typically take off in that situation he was patient
- 38:29Speaker 2: he waited in the pocket.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I think Johnny Manziel you just used two we used
- 38:32Speaker 1: two examples Bo Nix and Johnny Manziel both those guys
- 38:34Speaker 1: run right there yeah well I think most people do
- 38:36Speaker 1: yeah I think the vast majority of quarterbacks do and
- 38:38Speaker 1: again I don't think Kirby's trying to take a shot
- 38:40Speaker 1: at him but it does you know when you call
- 38:44Speaker 1: a quarterback a game manager You can say it all
- 38:46Speaker 1: you want as a compliment. It sounds like an insult.
- 38:48Speaker 1: That's right. When you call a quarterback, he just plays
- 38:51Speaker 1: backyard football. You can say all you want as a compliment.
- 38:53Speaker 1: It sounds like an insult because what it sounds like
- 38:56Speaker 1: is this is not an X's and O's guy. This
- 38:58Speaker 1: is a guy that just goes out there and freewheels it.
- 39:00Speaker 1: And most people want to think of their quarterback as
- 39:03Speaker 1: a smart X's and O's guy. I'm not out here
- 39:06Speaker 1: freewheeling it. I'm out here going through my progressions and
- 39:10Speaker 1: throwing the ball to the proper receiver and not just
- 39:13Speaker 1: running anytime I can run. And you could see it.
- 39:16Speaker 1: When I was asking the question, Aaron jumped in really
- 39:18Speaker 1: quickly and was like, no, no, no, that's secondary to
- 39:21Speaker 1: what he does. And for quarterbacks, it's the game manager
- 39:25Speaker 1: or the backyard, both of those somehow raises the hair
- 39:29Speaker 1: on their neck when you say that.
- 39:30Speaker 3: That about quarterbacks.
- 39:31Speaker 1: I don't know about you guys, but the play he referenced,
- 39:33Speaker 1: the bootleg 20-some-odd-yard touchdown run there, it almost felt like
- 39:38Speaker 1: watching in real time. I don't know why I felt
- 39:40Speaker 1: this way, but in real time, it was almost like
- 39:41Speaker 1: he was like, well, crap, I guess I got to
- 39:43Speaker 1: run it. Let's go.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Yep.
- 39:44Speaker 1: It was like he kind of rolled out and there
- 39:46Speaker 1: was this hesitation of like, is he open? Is he open?
- 39:49Speaker 3: All right, I'll run it.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Most quarterbacks love running. I mean, most quarterbacks are like, boy,
- 39:52Speaker 2: I've got the corner. Yeah, when they've got the corner
- 39:55Speaker 2: of the seam there and they're not going to get hit.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Yeah. I've got the corner. I've got a touchdown. I'm going.
- 40:00Speaker 1: All right. When we come back here on the next
- 40:02Speaker 1: round on Sporting State, a little fashion show. We've got
- 40:06Speaker 1: several interesting uniforms this weekend. We'll judge whether they're good
- 40:09Speaker 1: or not. Also, when we come back, bubble watch. We're
- 40:15Speaker 1: approaching the halfway part of the season. Is there a
- 40:18Speaker 1: chance that we're almost 10 teams battling for two spots
- 40:23Speaker 1: in the playoffs? Are we that far along yet? There's
- 40:26Speaker 1: a lot to happen between now and Selection Sunday, but
- 40:29Speaker 1: you can almost make a case. 10 teams fighting for
- 40:32Speaker 1: two spots left. Some teams look to be like playoff teams,
- 40:36Speaker 1: but There's two dangling spots out there. We'll talk about
- 40:38Speaker 1: the path to the playoffs, a little bubble watch as
- 40:41Speaker 1: we enter week six of college football when we come
- 40:43Speaker 1: back on the next round presented by Hard Rock Bet
- 40:46Speaker 1: on Sporting State. Back with you on the next round
- 40:48Speaker 1: presented by Hard Rock Bet on Sporting State as we
- 40:52Speaker 1: get ready for another big college football weekend that continues tonight.
- 40:56Speaker 1: We've already shown you FIU and their plans tonight for
- 41:01Speaker 1: their Miami Vice game. Some interesting things. uniforms going on
- 41:05Speaker 1: this weekend as well. Forrester, let's go SEC, Big 12,
- 41:12Speaker 1: ACC in that order. So this is the weekend with
- 41:17Speaker 1: South Carolina coming to play Florida, that Florida is going
- 41:21Speaker 1: to unveil their throwback to the 1960s, the Steve Spurrier
- 41:26Speaker 1: uniform back in the day and take a look at
- 41:31Speaker 1: the Florida uniform for the weekend. What do you guys
- 41:33Speaker 1: think of Florida this weekend with Carolina coming to town?
- 41:35Speaker 2: I don't love the helmet. I like the uniform.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't hate that white with the stripes like that.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Pretty clean, simple Florida uniform. I know it's the helmet
- 41:45Speaker 1: spur of your war, but that was back when basically
- 41:49Speaker 1: you just did a basic helmet, you know?
- 41:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't love the Gators script either. I don't
- 41:52Speaker 2: think they've got a really good helmet.
- 41:55Speaker 1: There is an F helmet they have. It's not in
- 41:59Speaker 1: a circle. That isn't too bad.
- 42:02Speaker 2: That looks more Cal State Fullerton. I don't even know
- 42:05Speaker 2: if they have a football team.
- 42:06Speaker 3: They used to have a good baseball team.
- 42:07Speaker 1: And that's interesting. White at home this weekend. So I
- 42:10Speaker 1: guess South Carolina agreed to wear their home jerseys down
- 42:13Speaker 1: at Florida this week. I enjoyed South Carolina last week.
- 42:17Speaker 1: So you guys give that A, B, C, D, M? Boy,
- 42:20Speaker 1: the uniform I give an A. The helmet drops the
- 42:23Speaker 1: whole thing to a B. Yeah, I would go B.
- 42:26Speaker 1: In the Big 12, Arizona is going to Morgantown to
- 42:29Speaker 1: play West Virginia. I love these. They're actually called the
- 42:32Speaker 1: Coal Rush after the West Virginia coal mines where they're
- 42:37Speaker 1: all blacked out. Here, West Virginia this weekend with silver
- 42:42Speaker 1: down the middle and everything. It's the Coal Rush uniforms
- 42:45Speaker 1: with Arizona coming. C-O-A-L, coal.
- 42:49Speaker 2: I would not mind this at all if you had
- 42:51Speaker 2: your traditional gold. I don't know why you go silver here.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Because I would imagine the tools... and what you're mining
- 43:00Speaker 1: for in there. Sometimes it's a little silver and gold.
- 43:04Speaker 2: I could have been going for gold, too, right? I mean,
- 43:06Speaker 2: I was more West Coast.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I don't mind that one. I like that one.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that just looks nothing like West Virginia's uniform.
- 43:12Speaker 1: I'm not crazy about West Virginia's uniform, though, normally.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not either. But, I mean, throw that gold
- 43:16Speaker 2: in there and see what it looks like.
- 43:17Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 43:18Speaker 2: Or just go all black.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Okay, give me the A, B, C, D, F.
- 43:22Speaker 3: I'll go with a B on that one, too.
- 43:23Speaker 2: I will go C.
- 43:25Speaker 1: I'll give it a B just for the name, the
- 43:27Speaker 1: coal rush. The coal rush. Yeah, for West Virginia. Put
- 43:29Speaker 1: Kubrick on the game. Duke plays Georgia Tech this weekend,
- 43:34Speaker 1: and I can't wait to see your grades on this.
- 43:36Speaker 1: They're bringing out their REC Tech logo, which I love
- 43:40Speaker 1: the car, and I love REC them, but putting that
- 43:43Speaker 1: little car, putting that car on the helmet, that's terrible.
- 43:46Speaker 1: That seems to be a loser for me. That's an F.
- 43:49Speaker 2: It looks like a 50s hamburger stand.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Oh, I disagree with you guys.
- 43:53Speaker 2: You like this, Scott?
- 43:54Speaker 1: I love these.
- 43:55Speaker 2: That's hokey as hell.
- 43:56Speaker 1: You love these?
- 43:57Speaker 2: Yes.
- 43:58Speaker 1: But Duke is wearing this logo, not Georgia Tech. No,
- 44:01Speaker 1: this is Georgia Tech. Yeah, this is Georgia Tech. Why
- 44:03Speaker 1: would Tech wear one that's called Rec Tech?
- 44:07Speaker 5: That's a sweet helmet logo.
- 44:08Speaker 1: Why would they wear one that's called Rec Tech? It's
- 44:10Speaker 1: called Rec Tech.
- 44:11Speaker 3: Oh, you said Rec Tech.
- 44:12Speaker 2: So you've got Alabama playing a home game over in Athens,
- 44:15Speaker 2: and now you've got Duke.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Wearing Georgia Tech's helmet. Alabama would win that game in Athens.
- 44:18Speaker 1: They haven't lost there since 2003. Why would Duke ever
- 44:20Speaker 1: wear Georgia Tech's car? Why would Georgia Tech wear a
- 44:23Speaker 1: helmet that was rec tech? That's what you said. Did
- 44:25Speaker 1: you try your.
- 44:26Speaker 2: First edible this morning?
- 44:27Speaker 1: Rec tech. That's a terrible logo. I don't care who's
- 44:30Speaker 1: wearing it. It is a terrible logo. It doesn't resonate
- 44:34Speaker 1: on the helmet, my point. No, I would agree. It's
- 44:36Speaker 1: a good t-shirt. Yeah, it's an interesting game. This weekend
- 44:39Speaker 1: with Duke, Georgia Tech. Somebody back there thinks Tech could
- 44:43Speaker 1: pull the upset, right? That was my upset alert. What's
- 44:46Speaker 1: his point spread on that one? I have Tech locked
- 44:49Speaker 1: in at plus 7.5.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Now, if Brinkey rolls out in his ACC Media Day outfit,
- 44:55Speaker 2: they got a shot.
- 44:57Speaker 1: He's going to drive that car out on the field.
- 45:00Speaker 3: He can't fit in that car.
- 45:01Speaker 1: That thing's small. By the way, as we're talking about
- 45:04Speaker 1: games this weekend, ticket prices, most expensive ticket in college football.
- 45:08Speaker 1: texas oklahoma uh until all the weather talk georgia alabama
- 45:13Speaker 1: was number two number three was lsu at kentucky at
- 45:17Speaker 1: the commonwealth kentucky fans are excited i mean will stein
- 45:19Speaker 1: obviously i mean you've got an offense when's the last
- 45:21Speaker 1: time we saw kentucky with an offense i mean where
- 45:24Speaker 1: do you where do you think they are in conference
- 45:26Speaker 1: scoring offense which normally you would say with stoops there
- 45:29Speaker 1: if i ask that question hey where's kentucky in scoring
- 45:31Speaker 1: offense you'd say what i would.
- 45:33Speaker 2: Guess sixth right now which is extremely high.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Um I would put them at six is a great answer.
- 45:43Speaker 1: They're still 10th at 34.6. That's still a lot of
- 45:46Speaker 1: points for them, 34.6. Okay, so we're about to hear
- 45:50Speaker 1: from Will Stein. Their uniforms this weekend, we showed you
- 45:53Speaker 1: I think last week, they were off. They're bringing the
- 45:56Speaker 1: power K back with K on the helmet Kentucky as
- 46:00Speaker 1: they play LSU. It'll be a block letter game, LSU
- 46:03Speaker 1: against the K on the helmet Kentucky. But this uniform
- 46:07Speaker 1: means a lot to Will Stein. Here is the Kentucky coach. Will,
- 46:12Speaker 1: this is Power K week, I guess. When you got
- 46:17Speaker 1: this job, was this something you pushed for? And just
- 46:20Speaker 1: what is it? Does this bring kind of extra juice
- 46:22Speaker 1: to your team or anything like this?
- 46:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:25Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know if it brings extra juice.
- 46:27Speaker 3: I mean, it probably will.
- 46:29Speaker 4: But that wears off like once the ball is kicked
- 46:32Speaker 4: and once you start doing everything else. I just love
- 46:34Speaker 4: the logo. You know, I mean, it's not because I'm
- 46:37Speaker 4: a big retro guy. I just think it's super cool
- 46:39Speaker 4: and looks clean and it obviously embodies the era that.
- 46:45Speaker 4: My dad played in, and so that's where it's special
- 46:48Speaker 4: to me. The first Kentucky thing that I wore when
- 46:50Speaker 4: I was a little kid was the old plastic helmet
- 46:53Speaker 4: with a Power K on it. So I think it's
- 46:55Speaker 4: just an ode to the past, and I think it's
- 46:59Speaker 4: just something that's really cool and unique and seems to
- 47:01Speaker 4: be well-respected and well-liked by everybody.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Yeah, so a Power K weekend for them there. He's
- 47:08Speaker 1: talking about the old Hutch helmets that we all had
- 47:10Speaker 1: back in the day.
- 47:11Speaker 2: You know, and I think Will Stein, just because he
- 47:13Speaker 2: saw it up close and personal, Oregon and all the
- 47:15Speaker 2: uniform combinations, and a lot of people think it's silly,
- 47:18Speaker 2: but these kids get excited about it. So don't be
- 47:21Speaker 2: surprised if there is more wrinkles when it comes to
- 47:23Speaker 2: Kentucky's uniform.
- 47:24Speaker 1: And I hate to be the one to bring this
- 47:26Speaker 1: up with that game this weekend. As great as this
- 47:30Speaker 1: start has been, it's still going to be incredibly difficult
- 47:32Speaker 1: for him to get them bowl eligible. And they're 4-1.
- 47:35Speaker 2: And I know you look at their 4-1 and you're like.
- 47:38Speaker 1: You look at more future schedules than Spann does weather models.
- 47:42Speaker 1: It seems like the future schedule is important. Let's see
- 47:45Speaker 1: the Kentucky schedule. I mean, you find six wins for me.
- 47:48Speaker 1: They're 4-1 right now. They can beat Oklahoma. They can
- 47:51Speaker 1: beat Vanderbilt. They can. They can beat Missouri. And they
- 47:55Speaker 1: definitely can beat Louisville right now. They can beat Tennessee.
- 47:58Speaker 1: So you've got them challenging 10 wins. I didn't say
- 48:00Speaker 1: they could win them all. I'm just saying you're saying
- 48:02Speaker 1: they're going to be difficult. They've got four wins. It is.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Oklahoma's offensively challenged. Vanderbilt's offensively challenged. Tennessee's offensively challenged. And
- 48:11Speaker 1: Louisville is struggling since their big win. They've lost two
- 48:14Speaker 1: in a row. You've got Oklahoma on the road. You've
- 48:15Speaker 1: got Tennessee on the road. You've got to go to Missouri.
- 48:18Speaker 2: I think six and six is their number. They're not
- 48:20Speaker 2: winning this weekend.
- 48:22Speaker 1: I don't think they have a shot this weekend either. Okay, so.
- 48:25Speaker 2: Yeah, but they are 6-6.
- 48:25Speaker 1: I mean, 6-6, that's difficult to get bowl eligible. If
- 48:29Speaker 1: you're only 6-6, it has been a challenge. But they're
- 48:32Speaker 1: 4-2 after the loss this weekend, correct? Yes, and that's
- 48:34Speaker 1: my whole point is they've only got to find two
- 48:36Speaker 1: more wins, and that's going to be really hard for
- 48:39Speaker 1: him to do. That's a challenging schedule. Quick poll question
- 48:43Speaker 1: around the table. All right. We'll start in the back.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Microphone's on the back right here. It is Brown on
- 48:50Speaker 1: some kind of medication and or alcohol this morning. Does
- 48:54Speaker 1: he seem a little off this morning to you guys? Forrest,
- 48:56Speaker 1: are you first?
- 49:01Speaker 2: Everybody can be honest. Don't be honest. No, possible is
- 49:03Speaker 2: not an answer. I mean, it may just be he
- 49:05Speaker 2: missed his morning biscuit.
- 49:07Speaker 1: No, got that. Brooke's a little off or on this morning?
- 49:10Speaker 1: Brown doesn't eat breakfast. He doesn't like breakfast. I don't
- 49:12Speaker 1: like breakfast. Admittedly, I don't understand the confusion on the
- 49:15Speaker 1: Georgia Tech-Duke thing. I didn't get that either. Because of
- 49:18Speaker 1: the way Jim said it. It doesn't matter. I mean, like,
- 49:21Speaker 1: have you never heard anyone butcher a saying or something?
- 49:23Speaker 1: You know the record. Yes, I work with him. His
- 49:26Speaker 1: in-ears don't work. He doesn't hear his comments. Have you
- 49:30Speaker 1: ever seen gold in a Duke helmet? I haven't, which
- 49:33Speaker 1: is why I thought it was such a dumb helmet.
- 49:34Speaker 2: I don't know what was more ridiculous.
- 49:36Speaker 5: This Duke helmet has a Georgia Tech logo on it.
- 49:39Speaker 1: But you guys tell me.
- 49:40Speaker 2: He served up Kayla DeBoer saying, you know what, we're
- 49:42Speaker 2: going to go to Athens and play this game.
- 49:44Speaker 1: Why would you be scared? They don't lose in Athens.
- 49:47Speaker 1: It seems plausible. They should definitely do that.
- 49:50Speaker 2: The Tuscaloosa economy gets seven home games every year.
- 49:53Speaker 1: Do you think they're going to try to give one
- 49:55Speaker 1: of those up? Brown doesn't care about that. They get
- 49:57Speaker 1: a hurricane, too. And those guys in the suite that
- 49:59Speaker 1: pay all that money, they've got to pack up and
- 50:01Speaker 1: sit outside in Athens. I'm just watching right here, ABC News.
- 50:05Speaker 1: This is a national story. They've got it coming right
- 50:07Speaker 1: through Tuscaloosa. It's as if it's following Highway 43 right
- 50:12Speaker 1: to Tuscaloosa. I think you should text Greg Byrne with
- 50:14Speaker 1: this idea right now. Go to Athens? Now, they would
- 50:17Speaker 1: have to give Alabama the money. Georgia does not get
- 50:19Speaker 1: to keep the home money. What is this, high school?
- 50:21Speaker 1: Like the high school gate here?
- 50:23Speaker 2: Let the Alabama sweet holders use their sweets.
- 50:26Speaker 1: All right, guys, we're going to split the gate here
- 50:28Speaker 1: so both quarterback clubs get something. Let them drink their
- 50:31Speaker 1: liquor and hang out with their women too, Brownie. I
- 50:34Speaker 1: just think it's a ballsy move.
- 50:34Speaker 3: You've got Byrne's number.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Just text him. I'll text Byrne right now and say, hey.
- 50:38Speaker 5: I would like to see an update to this.
- 50:40Speaker 1: If I text Byrne, you want me to ask him?
- 50:42Speaker 2: See if they'll wear silver britches, too, for Georgia.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Here's my idea. I'm thinking about, let's just play the
- 50:47Speaker 1: game in Athens. Well, that's not my idea. It was
- 50:50Speaker 1: a chat idea. Oh, I didn't hear that part. Maybe
- 50:53Speaker 1: I didn't say that.
- 50:55Speaker 2: You should call that dumb idea.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Up on somebody else. I think we're misremembering that.
- 50:59Speaker 3: I said hidden option D or F.
- 51:02Speaker 1: What if you just said we'll play the game and
- 51:03Speaker 1: that's definitely an F. If this show was the NHL
- 51:06Speaker 1: and our Lego chair was a penalty box, you'd spend
- 51:08Speaker 1: two minutes over there right now.
- 51:11Speaker 3: I mean, I'd still get a morning tea time.
- 51:12Speaker 1: I'll leave. That's a true statement.
- 51:16Speaker 5: Did you have your morning Diet Coke today?
- 51:18Speaker 1: I did. My morning went absolutely normal.
- 51:20Speaker 5: I didn't see you with your large Chick-fil-A cup.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Is that Brown's way of saying he's a grown-ass man?
- 51:25Speaker 5: Okay, you got it on deck. I don't know what's
- 51:26Speaker 5: going on then.
- 51:27Speaker 1: Brown, is that your way of saying you're a grown-ass man?
- 51:29Speaker 1: You're not putting me in timeout. I'll just leave. I'll
- 51:30Speaker 1: just leave. I did my normal day. My day has
- 51:33Speaker 1: been normal. I admittedly made a mistake on the Duke
- 51:36Speaker 1: Georgia Tech helmet. I'm not going to deny that. Massive mistake.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Because I thought Jim said it was the rec tech helmet,
- 51:41Speaker 1: and I was like, that doesn't make any sense.
- 51:43Speaker 5: Oh, so you made a mistake, but it's Jim's fault.
- 51:45Speaker 1: 17 years in the making, my friend. He made the
- 51:51Speaker 1: mistake leading into my mistake, yes. I mean, listen, if
- 51:55Speaker 1: the quarterback gets a bad snap and throws an interception,
- 51:57Speaker 1: do you say, I mean, bad interception, but the play
- 52:00Speaker 1: was off because of the bad snap.
- 52:01Speaker 2: You say that all the time. That was a bad snap.
- 52:04Speaker 2: I threw a pick, but it was a bad snap.
- 52:07Speaker 1: When we come back, coaches who have coached their way
- 52:12Speaker 1: off the hot seat possibly We'll talk Heisman, and we'll
- 52:16Speaker 1: talk that bubble watch. All still to come in the
- 52:18Speaker 1: next hour of the show being brought to you by XXXY. Yeah,
- 52:22Speaker 1: it is. Jennifer Sage. I didn't even bring up your
- 52:24Speaker 1: biggest mistake this hour. Of all the ones I could
- 52:27Speaker 1: have made, though, that one is the one that's going
- 52:28Speaker 1: to be the okay one. Uh, Jennifer say, I felt
- 52:33Speaker 1: you staring right at me.
- 52:36Speaker 3: Well, I was confused.
- 52:37Speaker 1: I thought I was in the wrong. I knew as
- 52:40Speaker 1: soon as I did it, I screwed up because our
- 52:42Speaker 1: clock's not working. I was like, is it 11 already? Uh,
- 52:45Speaker 1: Jennifer say former national champion, gymnast, former Levi's brand president.
- 52:49Speaker 1: She walked away from a corporate job rather than say
- 52:51Speaker 1: something she did not believe in what she did. She
- 52:53Speaker 1: started XXXY athletics instead, uh, Here's their mission and their words.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Empower female athletes to take a stand for fair competition.
