- 4:50can roll them. But it's all about It's all about YouTube tonight. So
- 4:56whatever, wherever y'all want to jump in the floor is yours. Yeah.
- 5:01So my name is Roberto Sosa Cruz. Yes, this is my daughter.
- 5:11You know, ever since my daughter was born, actually before she was born,
- 5:15you know I kind of you know, put into the into the world
- 5:17and to the air that you know, I just I always want to,
- 5:20you know, like an athletic child. You know, I played sports my
- 5:24whole life, and you know, I've been through a lot of things in
- 5:27life, a lot of ups and downs, and you know, I didn't
- 5:30make it to where I was supposed to be in life in sports. So
- 5:32I've kind of been a lot of places, seen a lot of things,
- 5:35and you know, I realized the reason why, you know, things didn't
- 5:41work out for me. So I always said when I was about eighteen years
- 5:44old, you know, when I get older, I'm going to make sure
- 5:46I do this with my child. And you know, I had my daughter
- 5:49in I really wasn't expecting to have a girl. I always thought it would
- 5:55be a boy. But she came out and I named her Sosa. So
- 5:59so was has been my names as I was eleven years old, and I
- 6:02always knew I was gonna name my child Sosa, but I never knew it
- 6:04was gonna be a girl. And you know, once I found out that
- 6:09she was gonna be a girl, I already knew she was going to be
- 6:12a superstar. So I said, you know what, I'm still gonna name
- 6:14her Susa because I feel like so Sa Cruise is like it sounds like a
- 6:17superstar name so Sa Cruseed. Like when you hear that name, it's just
- 6:21it sounds like she's somebody, and she is somebody. So I stuck with
- 6:25it. I said, you know what, I'm just gonna name her Sosa,
- 6:27and I just I went with it. So you know, she was
- 6:31born and before she was even one year, your mom said. Your mom
- 6:36said, she cannot see your face. She wants to see your face,
- 6:42to see your face. She can't see me. Yes, can you see
- 6:46me? She said, I cannot see your face. No, your face
- 6:51is hid. I'm too, I'm too. I can see your chan Oh
- 6:58wow, I can see your chance. What I didn't you say? Okay,
- 7:04now I think you can see you about now steal your chain? Wow?
- 7:15Let me see shut it up? Can you lift it up a little?
- 7:17Can you lift it a little? Fun saying hold on? What is
- 7:23okay? Okay? Yeah? H yeah, yeah yeah, mind m bigger
- 8:03the school boy? Kay? Yeah now let me see h multiple things?
- 8:24Kay. I think that's good. I don't think so. Wake your finder
- 8:31m hmm, yeah. Are we're working out these technical technical Okay, while
- 8:48we're letting him get his camera together, how about I play one of those
- 8:50sits of this young lady so y'all can see who we're gonna be talking about.
- 8:54Y'all, looky here, missionary on the definition like the dictionary, baby
- 9:03turn around for getting a missionary. If they pull up on me with some
- 9:05bad interns, you gonna read about it in obituar. I got most soldiers
- 9:09in a military, I got most stones in a cemetery, most strings,
- 9:11and y'all up February. It's getting hard to put up price on the show.
- 9:15Can't even pick it up out now. But right everybody, listen,
- 9:20you about to meet a six year old basketball sensation from right here in Atlanta.
- 9:24Georgian uncaus Justin Felder has the story. He's comment on one of her
- 9:31photos. When I seen that, I'm like, oh my god, this
- 9:33is strange. NBA players message me and a lot of people. What's up
- 9:37to Stephan carry here? I just want to check in what you hope you're
- 9:41doing well. Even Steve Harvey was like, you know, it took me
- 9:45this long to become to become known. I've never seen a five year old
- 9:48with the abilities that you have and the heart that you had, the game
- 9:54that you had. So she's just gonna go off for me, tell me
- 10:11of a lot of girls to show you girls can play basketball. But she's
- 10:16gonna get a really good plucky she could pose you hear that girl said you
- 10:24can play in the NBA with Lebron. Girl. Wow, let's see.
- 10:52We gonna see if they got it fixed? Are you seek? Yes?
- 11:03Yeah, okay, yes, that is great. Yes, right there,
- 11:13it fell back down, go up just a little bit, just a little
- 11:26bit. Mm hmm. Okay, that's good. Right there, right there,
- 11:39good, right there, right there, that's good. Okay, cool,
- 11:45Yes, right there, right there, right there. Awesome, awesome,
- 11:50awesome. So now everybody can everybody can see your face. Your mama
- 11:56wanted to see your face. I had no clue. I had no clue.
- 12:01It's okay, yeah, so it's okay, I tell you technology.
- 12:07Yes, so you can go ahead. We apologize. You know, stuff
- 12:11happens. It gave them an opportunity to see who we're talking about because I
- 12:16had some clips. So they got an opportunity to see exactly who we're going
- 12:22to be talking about. So if you want to go ahead and flowishrs whoever
- 12:26I want to talk, it's all your yes. Sure. So yeah,
- 12:31I really loved basketball so much. It's really fun to do, and I
- 12:35loved just working hard. Yeah, and I'm nine years old and my first
- 12:41name is so sur Cruse And guys, Super and Golden came out yesterday,
- 12:52episode seven and you have to watch that. Guys. It's really cool right
- 12:56now. So that's my websities that I'm featured in. And she's a I
- 13:07don't know what happened. We are always somewhat having some technical difficulty because the
- 13:11enemy do not like for us to apparently share all of this goodness. I
- 13:16tell you, these two have an amazing testimony. They have an amazing journey
- 13:22that they are on, and I'm just excited about what's going on. We
- 13:30gonna get it together. We gonna get it together. They gotta come back
- 13:33on. I don't know, I don't know what's going on, but yeah,
- 13:50hopefully they'll jump back on. I don't know, miss thing. Would
- 14:16you like to come in the studio? You have the link, you can
- 14:18come in if you would like, and you maybe could share a little insight
- 14:24until they come back, if if you want, if you're in a position
- 14:28that you can come on. Y'all know we keep it pushing. I'll tell
- 14:33you, they have an amazing story here they come, here, they come,
- 14:37here, they come. I gotta wait for their mics in their video
- 14:43to connect. I tell you, the enemies just don't want us to to
- 14:52be great, but they can't stop greatness. I tell you they trying to
- 15:01come on, y'all. We gonna see what happens here they go. Welcome
- 15:13back, Welcome back, welcome back. Hey, sorry about that. It's
- 15:18such a what happened? Major technical difficulties right now. You don't have much
- 15:22help right now. It's just me and it's okay. Look it wasn't.
- 15:26We're used to it over here because something always happens over here on the network.
- 15:31So I guess I should have told you that when we first come on,
- 15:35it's always something. It's like the enemy don't like for us to share
- 15:39good stuff, and I know it's about to be some good stuff being shared
- 15:43tonight, so it's like he just keep us distracted with this internet. Last
- 15:48night, it was thirty minutes before we can even go live because it kept
- 15:54just kicking us out and just kept doing all kind of crazy stuff. But
- 15:58it's okay, guess what we keep pushing you know, quit, I'm telling
- 16:03you I used to run suicide, so you already know he runs a lot
- 16:08of suicide. No, Sosa, So you know, Yes, I played.
- 16:15I played basketball. I actually played basketball at Morris Brown College in Atlanta,
- 16:22right there in Atlanta in the early nineties. So I used to could
- 16:27hoop. Now, I ain't gonna say I was no Sosa, but I
- 16:33could ball now, and then I was a post player. I wouldn't.
- 16:38I went with all the dribbling. I could handle the ball, but I
- 16:42wasn't with it. I played the I played the four, but I could
- 16:48rotate to the five and the three if I had to, But mainly four,
- 16:53main a little bit of side. See. Yeah, I'm finally that
- 17:00and and a half. Okaya, definitely. Yeah, we're praying for that
- 17:07half. We're praying for Sosa to get to at least five or nine.
- 17:14At least five Okay. Yeah, so I'm pretty much. When Sosa was
- 17:19not even one years old, I was training her brother in football, and
- 17:23Sosa would she would get down and do push ups and do sit ups and
- 17:27she wasn't even one years old. Yeah, she was walking at like nine
- 17:30months, and she was just doing things that you know, I've never seen
- 17:36babies do before. Her athletic abilities were just abnormal, and it was just
- 17:41like it was just so much. It was basically just God given, you
- 17:44know, God just put these abilities in her from the beginning, and I
- 17:48just noticed it and it was just like, wow, is my my dreams
- 17:52really coming true? And it was just like she wanted to work out,
- 17:56she wanted to do things, she wanted to be active, and I just
- 18:00saw the athletic ability in her. And then, you know, when she
- 18:03was one two years old, I bought her a little basketball hoop, would
- 18:07buy her her little basketball sneakers, a little Kyrie's and Jordan's and she would
- 18:11you know, shooting the hoop and she would have so much fun, and
- 18:15you know I would. She went to her first basketball game at six months
- 18:18old. By the time she was four or five years old, I took
- 18:22you away to Atlanta Dream Game and they let me go in the court and
- 18:26I was just you blame And that's what I really wanted to know, that
- 18:30play basketball. Yeah, So at five years old, we went to an
- 18:33Atlanta Dream game. They played against the Chicago sky And at this game,
- 18:38they let her come in the court and she was dribbling the ball. She
- 18:42was looking so beautiful, had the biggest smile on her face, and I
- 18:48think I think that was the moment she was like, this is this is
- 18:51for me. Right, ever since that day, it's just I mean even
- 18:53before then she was locked in, but ever since that day, it was
- 18:56like she knew this is what she wanted to do. When I was five
- 19:00years old, and you know, we were we were working and putting in
- 19:06work that you know, average kids her age wouldn't be doing. But it's
- 19:08like she was able to do it. She wanted to do it, and
- 19:12like, you know, the focus that she was showing at her age was
- 19:15something I've never seen before. I didn't have that. I'm the oldest of
- 19:18nine kids. I've never seen any of my brothers or cousins and any kids
- 19:22around me. I've never seen what she was able to do. So when
- 19:26she was five years old, you know, I was training her five years
- 19:30old, she was doing one hundred push ups. So at five years old,
- 19:37I'm like, you know, I think you're I think you're ready to
- 19:37go to to play on the team and to go to a trainer. So
- 19:41I took her to a trainer. And you know, usually trainers they don't
- 19:44want to you know, they don't want to develop kids. I shouldn't say
- 19:47training develop. They don't want to develop kids. You know that at that
- 19:51age, because you know, it's basically like a waste of money. You
- 19:53know, they're not really focused yet, it's not they don't know what they're
- 19:56doing. So I took Sosa to the trainer and so, so she got
- 20:03down on the ground, she did one hundred push up straight, five years
- 20:07old, and he said, oh, I'm taking her, I'm gonna I'm
- 20:11gonna develop, I'm gonna train her. So he worked with her and ever
- 20:14since that moment, we just took off. So we were working, developing,
- 20:18putting in so much work. You know, I would record videos of
- 20:21her. I started her social media page when she was four or five years
- 20:25old, and we would just post all her videos and you would just see
- 20:27you know, her leveling up every day every day, just getting better at
- 20:33what she was doing. We just we would add add, you know,
- 20:36different drills to her her workouts, and she was just getting better. And
- 20:41you would and in these videos you could just see the focus and It's like
- 20:44it's like, Wow, that little girl on five years old and she's able
- 20:47to focus like that and concentrate and just put that work in that grown people
- 20:52do. So this is around COVID time. This is she's still five years
- 20:57old, before she turned six. This is it's like COVID Like I'd say,
- 21:02like March April time she turned six May tenth of that year of twenty
- 21:07twenty. So this is about eight March April of twenty twenty, she's still
- 21:14five years old. You know, we're in the house. It's COVID.
- 21:17The kids are out of school now, nobody can go outside. We can't
- 21:19do anything. You know. After a while, I'm just like that,
- 21:26we can't go to the gym. We can't do this, We can't do
- 21:27that. It's time for us to go to the park and put some work
- 21:30in. It's like we've been in the house for weeks, Sosa hasn't dribbled
- 21:33the ball. We were losing our minds. So we went to her her
- 21:37actually it was her school at the time. They have a basketball court in
- 21:41the back, and we went there and we started doing the drills that we
- 21:45do. You know. I started off Sosa, she was doing two ball
- 21:48dribbling drills, so she would like dribble two balls at the same time.
- 21:52And I actually recorded her, you know, dribbling two balls, you know.
- 21:56Like I said, this was her first day back out, so she
- 21:59was very focused and eager to just get out there and put in work.
- 22:03She was very determined and just ready to go. So and we got that
- 22:07video. Yeah, that's the video that like that video right there. I
- 22:10got that video. I posted that video right there and then the world just
- 22:14went crazy, like it went. I'm talking about hundreds of thousands and millions
- 22:18of views viral like everyone in the basketball world and beyond seeing that video.
- 22:26Okay, cool, look this guy your missionary of the definition like the dictionary.
- 22:34Maybe turn around for getting the missionary. If they pull up on me
- 22:37with some bad intentions, you're gonna read about it in obituate. I got
- 22:40most soldiers in a military, I got most stones in a cemetery, I
- 22:42got most strings, and y'all in February. It's getting hard to put a
- 22:45price on the show. Can't even figure up out now. But wow,
- 22:55okay, so so that video right there, that's that's that's that's not the
- 22:57video that went viral. So that video right there is kind of recent,
- 23:03the video that went virus. She was a five year old little girl.
- 23:07She has on like a pink hoodie and she's outside at the park dribbling two
- 23:10balls. It's the one with Steve Harvey. Yeah, it's on there.
- 23:15Yep, it's on there. She's counted. She's like one, two,
- 23:18is it on the legacy? I didn't want to think it's on Harvey.
- 23:23I think it's on the one with Steve Harvey from some six Yeah, but
- 23:30yep, the click not everybody listen, you bought to meet the six year
- 23:36old basketball sensation from right here in Atlanta, Georgia. Justin Felder has the
- 23:41story Carlo, and he's commented on one of her photos. When I seen
- 23:47that, I'm like, oh my god, this is the NBA players and
- 23:49that's just me and a lot of people. What's to Stephen Curry here?
- 23:53I just want to check in what you ope, your do well? Even
- 23:56Steve Harvey was like, you know, it's me this long to become to
- 24:02become known. I've never seen a five year old with the abilities that you
- 24:07have and the heart that you had, the game that you had. So
- 24:12she's just gonna go off from here that that is so amazing. How how
- 24:29did that make you feel? I felt great and happy. Yes, yes,
- 24:40wow, you're definitely amazing. I tell you your work. I'm telling
- 24:45you you you're exactly right. When it comes to work ethics and her,
- 24:52it's passion for her. She because when I first started playing basketball, I
- 24:56started playing because my coach wanted me to play. She was my pe teacher
- 25:03and she wanted me like it wasn't about passion, and I grew to love
- 25:07the game. But she loved the game so much to she picked it up.
- 25:14And and wow, people, she's so young, she's nine years old.
- 25:21Now wow, you know a lot of people they're they're so wild,
- 25:22you know about her skills and stuff like that. But like for me,
- 25:26what does it for me is just like, like the way she works and
- 25:29the way she focus is just that right there is what like drives me.
- 25:33It's like, wow, this is so amazing. You know, I love
- 25:34you. Though she's very she's one of them. She's I mean you you'll
- 25:37never find nine year old girls as skillful as she is in basketball. But
- 25:42to me, it's the way that she works, the efforts that she gives
- 25:47and it's just like, you know, she's in the gym working with high
- 25:49school girls, high school boys and top I'm talking about top of the Country
- 25:56Division one girl basketball players and w NBA basketball player. She trains in the
- 26:00gym with all of these levels of talented players, and she's always the hardest
- 26:04working every single time. She's the hardest worker every single time. And that's
- 26:08what I love. And that's how I know, you know she's gonna be
- 26:12and get to the point that she wants to get to because of her work
- 26:15ethic and her passion, how much she loves it. She's just not gonna
- 26:18let you work harder than her. It's just not gonna happen. That's that's
- 26:22just what's in her. So when when when the video went viral, you
- 26:27know, her Instagram blew up. It went all the way to thirteen point
- 26:32two thousand followers, It went crazy. I mean everybody was sending me messages,
- 26:36NBA players, w NBA players, I mean, Gabrielle Union, I
- 26:41mean like people, you know, you know, you know how women are
- 26:45when they see when they see another woman doing their thing, especially a little
- 26:48girl doing her thing, and she's doing something that you know, you don't
- 26:52see too many girls doing when they see that, they're gonna show love.
- 26:56So the women that was showing my go to love at that time was it
- 26:59was it's so crazy, like they were like, oh my god, you
- 27:02know, they were posting my daughters videos on their pages. It was just
- 27:04so amazing. And first, I think we had first the first people that
- 27:11had Fox five News. They were the first people that contacted me and they
- 27:15came and they did an interview with us, and it was it was really
- 27:18amazing. You know, that was first big you know, they had the
- 27:22all the you know, the news cameras out there in the van and all
- 27:26of that stuff out there for her. It was a big thing and it
- 27:33was just so amazing. At that time, she was still five years old,
- 27:36and you know, we were on the news Fox five News, and
- 27:37after that it was Access Hollywood, and after that it was Steve Harvey Show,
- 27:42and then you know, Sports Illustrated was posting her. ESPN, you
- 27:47know, every every big major basketball media outlet. You know, they were
- 27:52capta into her. I mean like people in Germany, Africa, people all
- 27:56over the world were contacting me about my daughter's video that went viral, and
- 28:00it was just so amazing. So all of this was happening around in the
- 28:03springtime, the spring summer of twenty twenty. We were we were filming all
- 28:08these shows and doing all these interviews and you know, creating content every single
- 28:14day and just working hard. And this was you know, March, April,
- 28:17May, June, and then everything was just taken off. And then
- 28:21December came and I lost my eyesight and went blind, just like that,
- 28:26and that like changed our whole entire world, changed our whole entire life.
- 28:33Rab my girl. Yeah, yeah, it definitely. You know, it
- 28:38affected my daughter in a major way. You know, she was so used
- 28:44to me watching her and paying attention to every detail and just being right there,
- 28:49you know, working with her, you know, doing what we have
- 28:52to do, you know, not even with basketball, but just regular life.
- 28:55You know, this is my girls. You know, my whole entire
- 28:57life is revolved around my daughters. You know that's just what it is.
- 29:03I don't my whole everything I do is revolved around them. Nothing else matters
- 29:07to me. I mean, you know, other things matter, but you
- 29:10know what I'm saying. Without then I'm nothing. I don't I don't do
- 29:14I don't really do anything. For myself. I live for them and that's
- 29:17just how I do. So, you know, me loos on my site
- 29:19affected them in a major way at first. So I'm in the hospital bed,
- 29:29so I rewinded a little bit. I was in December. I was
- 29:33getting these headaches and I'm not I don't like taking pills for some reason,
- 29:38I just don't like pills. So I don't like taking pails. I don't
- 29:41like medicine, none of that kind of stuff. So I would get these
- 29:45headaches that I didn't take anything, and they were just getting bad and bad
- 29:48and bad. So the second week, the headaches were causing me to vomit.
- 29:52So that's when I checked myself into the emergency room. And you know,
- 29:56at the time, you know, I was waking up and I would
- 29:59wake up in the morning and I would have blurred vision at times and I
- 30:02would just you know, rub my eyes and everything would be cool. I
- 30:06went to the emergency room one time before and they just said, uh,
- 30:10they didn't really tell me anything, Like, they didn't really say anything was
- 30:11really wrong with me. They didn't really tell me that I had a problem
- 30:15or anything like that. It was just nothing. So I went to the
- 30:19emergency room this time, and I'm like, yeah, it's my eyes are
- 30:23blurry. I have this crazy headache. It's causing me to vomit. I
- 30:27can't bear it. I can't take it anymore. So you know, I'm
- 30:32in the hospital and at this time I'm still able to see. And a
- 30:37day or two goes by and I still have this crazy headache vomiting. To
- 30:41give me all these pills, they don't. They can't. They can't take
- 30:45the headache away from me. They don't know what's going on. So finally
- 30:49they give me something called a lumbar puncture. It's like a spinal tap,
- 30:52and they put a needle on my spine and they drained out all this fluid
- 30:57in my brain out. They were doing this, I'm laying on the I'm
- 31:02laying on the on the bed, and the doctor and like, mister Kruz,
- 31:04I've never seen this much fluid on a person's brain in my entire time
- 31:11of being a doctor. The fluid on your brain just came out like a
- 31:14waterfall. I said, whoa. And immediately when he stuck that needle on
- 31:18my spine and the water started draining out of my brain, the headache just
- 31:26went away. At the time I was. At this point in time,
- 31:29I was kind of like losing my sight, and I promise you I didn't
- 31:33even care. My headache was hurting so bad. I didn't care about my
- 31:37eyes. I'm like, I don't care about my eyes right now. Can
- 31:41you please just get this headache away. They put the needle on my back.
- 31:45Immediately, boom, the headaches were gone. So they drained all the
- 31:49fluid out as the dager going by. You know, my eyesight, I'm
- 31:56still able to see a little bit, but my eyes blow and I'm having
- 32:00trouble seeing. Then the optimologist comes to see me and he gives me a
- 32:08he dilates my eyes. He dilates my pupils. And when he dilates my
- 32:13pupils, I wasn't able to see anymore. So I'm like, yeah,
- 32:16I can't see right now. He's like, yeah, in a few hours,
- 32:20you should be able to. You'll be fine. You know, it's
- 32:22doing what it's doing. Whatever the dilation of pupils does, it was doing,
- 32:25you know. And he's telling me, he's checking me out and he's
- 32:29saying that at this point in time, they told me that I have,
- 32:31you know, high blood pressure. I really didn't know that I was living
- 32:34with high blood pressure for a long period of time, and he's telling me
- 32:37like, yeah, mister cruise, if you don't take care of yourself and
- 32:38get your blood pressure down, in two years, you'll be blind. This
- 32:42is what he's telling me at this point in time. So he dilated my
- 32:46eyes, and you know, after he dilating my eyes, I was never
- 32:52able to see again. I don't know. That wasn't that wasn't supposed to
- 32:58be the case. You know. What he told me was that if I
- 33:00don't take care of myself in two years, I won't be able to see.
- 33:05But that day I wasn't able to see it again. So while I'm
- 33:08in the hospital, I'm going through it, you know, I'm trying to
- 33:12understand what's going on. I was in the hospital for about two or three
- 33:15weeks. It's COVID time, and I wasn't able to have no visitors.
- 33:20I'm just in the hospital, not knowing what's going on. I can't see.
- 33:23It was it was real crazy. You know. I've been in a
- 33:27lot of experiences, a lot of situations in life, and that was pretty
- 33:29much one of the worst ones. I would say it was worse than being
- 33:31in jail, not gonna lie, losing your sight, you're blind. All
- 33:37these people were coming in and out the room. You don't know what's going
- 33:39on in the hospital bed. I can't have nobody come up there and see
- 33:43me. My mom can't come see me. I can't see my kids.
- 33:46It was just crazy. And actually during this time period, while I'm in
- 33:51the hospital at the time, my wife sois mom. She calls me and
- 33:55she says, Instagram is going to delete socialism and Socialist page because they're saying
- 34:00that she's too young. I'm like, are you kidding me? We just
- 34:05put in all this work. Her Instagram, her social media account not up
- 34:09to almost fourteen thousand followers. We know, we were constant, We're connected
- 34:15with all these people through this page right here, and they're trying to delete
- 34:17her page. And it was like I lost my I lost my eyesight,
- 34:22and I lost her Instagram, her Instagram account at the same exact time.
- 34:27It was. It was it was crazy. After we put all her put
- 34:30in all that work. At this time, you know, she was six
- 34:32years old, and uh we had her Instagram for about two years and we
- 34:37did a lot of things on there, and they deleted it. You know,
- 34:42we we know for a fact it wasn't because she was too young,
- 34:45you know, somebody hated on somebody did something to get it deleted, because
- 34:50it's just no way they would just delete my daughter's Instagram account. Nothing but
- 34:53positivity, you know, motivation, inspiration, you know, coming from a
- 34:58five six year old girl, there's nothing negative about it. It's nothing but
- 35:02love being shown, and they just deleted it, saying, oh, she's
- 35:05too young to have Instagram. There's millions of kids under thirteen years old with
- 35:08Instagram pages, and you know they just deleted hers. So it was so
- 35:16much, you know, so I lost the Instagram, I lost my eyesight.
- 35:21We had to figure out how to adapt to this new lifestyle and how
- 35:24to just make things work, you know, right, so saying, yeah,
- 35:28so what do we do? So basically we practice every day, put
- 35:31it in this work so that I can get better, and just like that.
- 35:36Yeah, so we didn't. We didn't take too much time off.
- 35:38So I'm not gonna lie I didn't. I didn't let you know, I
- 35:42didn't let me being lyed. I wasn't gonna let that, you know,
- 35:45interrupt and interfere with you know, everything, that I have going on with
- 35:50my children, with my daughters, I couldn't let them. I couldn't let
- 35:53this affect them, you know, even though I knew it affected Social because
- 35:55you know, with me training her, us practicing, I couldn't fix what
- 36:01needed to be fixed because I couldn't see. So I needed other eyes to
- 36:05be around. I needed other people to be around to help us. And
- 36:08you know, I would be out to go to her games, and you
- 36:12know, after games, you know I would, I was. I'm so
- 36:15so I always trained social, but I'm not a coach. I'm not the
- 36:17person on the sideline that's like coaching the kids and doing that kind of stuff.
- 36:22You know, I just trained my daughter, and even though I'm not
- 36:27a coach, I'm coaching her the whole game. I'm telling her the whole
- 36:30game, coaching her, you know, the whole entire game from the sidelines.
- 36:34And I wasn't able to do that anymore. So it was like,
- 36:37you know, she wasn't able to hear my voice, she wasn't able to
- 36:40hear her dad talked to her anymore. So it was like now she's on
- 36:45her own out there. Now she has to figure it out herself. And
- 36:52I'm it was rough at first. You know, she kind of lost a
- 36:54little passion for the game for a while because you know, I wasn't there
- 36:58with her, you know, through what we do that we've been doing since
- 37:01day one. And it was rough. It was a rough, rough period
- 37:05of time. And then you know, and it was rough. It was
- 37:13rough right right. She had a lot of anxiety. You know, she
- 37:17was having problems sleeping, and she was using the bathroom a lot. It
- 37:22was, it was, it was rough for her, like it was rough
- 37:25for She's my girl, she's my world, and you know, things changed
- 37:30so fast, so we had to adapt fast. I didn't let it wow.
- 37:34You know, it was down for a little minute, you know,
- 37:37trying to figure it out. But I promise you I got I got out
- 37:39the hospital the week of Christmas. So let's I'm not sure what day Christmas
- 37:45was on that year, so let's just say Christmas was on a Thursday,
- 37:47and now at the hospital on Tuesday, and you know, not too far
- 37:53after that January and nothing, at no point did she miss anything. Right
- 38:00right after Christmas break was over, she was right back out there. You
- 38:04know, we had to figure it out. Even though we're still rough on
- 38:06her. We were right back out there. She was right back playing with
- 38:09her team, right back working, and we were just trying to figure it
- 38:13out, you know, to make it to get to the point where we
- 38:15can still do what we do. So, you know, I got a
- 38:16little bit of help. I had my brother around, my brother Lonnie,
- 38:20my brother Ray. You know, they were there to help me out and
- 38:22help us out to get to where we needed to be. And you know,
- 38:25to just keep eyes on Sosa and just make sure she's doing you know,
- 38:30the proper things to get better. And we made it through the storm.
- 38:37We made it through the storm for real. I mean up to this
- 38:40point right now, we're good. Wow. So how can how can individuals
- 38:50follow and support you guys? Because I know that you guys probably could use
- 38:55some some some support. So how can people support and follow what you guys
- 39:04are doing? Yeah? So selling your Instagram instu so s O s A
- 39:13and then two and then cruz yep so so so two crews. That's her
- 39:17instagram. You know, on on her Instagram, you you can actually in
- 39:22her in her bio is the link to the documentary. You could just you
- 39:29know check her out there, just you know, follow her show her some
- 39:32love and just watch her on her journey, because it's gonna be something that
- 39:36you've never seen before. Everything about her, it's it's all new. You
- 39:39know, this is not something that people have seen before. The things that
- 39:43she does, the way she works, just the life that she lives.
- 39:45She's a phenomenal girl. You know, just outside of basketball. She does
- 39:51what she's supposed to do. And you know, her teachers love her.
- 39:55Man, she loves God, and she's just a a great, great,
- 40:00great child. She's nine years old right now, in fourth grade. Right
- 40:07now, we're actually trying. I'm in the process of, uh, you
- 40:12know, putting her into private school. It's a very very good school in
- 40:15our area. And you know, they have phenomenal programs, you know,
- 40:21academic programs, phenomenal athletic programs, and it's just like a great, great
- 40:27environment, a great great environment, you know. Man. Like so telling
- 40:36about how how do you like the school? Oh my gosh, I just
- 40:38love like the like how big the gyms are, and like the teachers and
- 40:44the school is called Holy and yes they have they they offer everything there and
- 40:50and it's very diverse, you know, and it's basically ran by black people.
- 40:53Also and that's a very important tool. So you know, like the
- 40:55principal the school, you know, people that are the finistry, the people
- 41:00that are running things. You know. And in the beginning, your daughter
- 41:05was telling us about oh yes, my documentary was telling us about something that
- 41:13just released. Yes, so right now. So so that's basically what I
- 41:17do. Okay, so we got at Yeah, So I act, and
- 41:23uh, right now, I'm currently in a show called Silver and Gold.
- 41:28I play a character called Sosa Grena. And this is actually my first,
- 41:32you know, my first role, my first time ever acting while while being
- 41:37blind. This is not my first time acting, but my first time as
- 41:40a blind actor. And I'm not gonna lie, man, I'm I'm I'm
- 41:47pretty good. Pretty good. I didn't think I was gonna be this good.
- 41:52It was rough. But if you guys, you gots, you gotta
- 41:54check the show out. It's called Silver and Gold. It's basically like it's
- 41:59a high show. It's like it's basically like a twenty twenty three version of
- 42:04like a Black Bonnie and Clyde. And I play a character who basically,
- 42:07you know, I bring the jobs to the crew. I have all the
- 42:10ins and outs, the blueprints you know, I have the information to the
- 42:15jobs that we're gonna pull. You know, I play like a really you
- 42:17know, serious character. And you know, my team that I work with
- 42:25in the show, you know, up to a certain point, they don't
- 42:29even realize that I'm blind. So I'm trained so well in the show to
- 42:34move as a regular person. So the people that I work with, they
- 42:37don't know that I'm blind. So you know, I wear my glasses.
- 42:38They just think that I'm trying to be cool and wearing glasses. But I'm
- 42:42actually wearing my glasses because I'm blind, but they just don't know it.
- 42:45And you know, in the show, just I do a lot of things,
- 42:46you know, fight scenes, all types of things, all kinds of
- 42:52scenes, and if when you're looking at it, you'll never know I'm blind
- 42:55until the point of the show where we tell you that I'm blind. And
- 43:00it's an amazing show. You have to check it out. It's on the
- 43:02streaming service called Jarro. Like I said, The Silvering Goes. The first
- 43:08season was directed by a good great friend of mine, a land Halls.
- 43:13He's the director, the writer, the producer. He's kind of like a
- 43:16you know, like a a Donald Glover he's like he's like a like a
- 43:22Donald Glover kind of guy. You know, he writes it, he acts
- 43:23in it. He's a phenomenal, phenomenal just just a just a phenomenal person,
- 43:29you know. Uh, he does wonderful, wonderful things in the in
- 43:31the film industry. And you know, that's very my close friend and I
- 43:35acting everything that he does. My daughters are in the show episode seven.
- 43:40It was just released on Monday, and that's basically like my standalone episode where
- 43:46basically the whole entire episode is revolved around my story, and I have my
- 43:52daughters in the story and and in the end the episode, and they're acting
- 43:55so everything that I do, I put them in it, and I'm not
- 44:00gonna lie. I'm very very proud of this. I'm more proud of this,
- 44:02you know, besides my daughter. I'm more proud of this for me
- 44:06than anything because I put it in a lot of works. I didn't think
- 44:08I was gonna be able to do it because when Alan Jay originally wrote the
- 44:14script, I wasn't blind. I was a regular person at the time.
- 44:17He didn't write it for a blind person. And then, you know,
- 44:22fast forward in December, I lost my eyesight and it was like he was
- 44:25gonna have to recast my role, but he wrote it specifically for me.
- 44:31And you know, I'm just laying in the bed and I'm just thinking,
- 44:34I'm like, man, I could still do this, Like this is a
- 44:37way that we can still make it happen. And I called him, I'm
- 44:40like, yo, bro, I want to still do it, man,
- 44:44I want to still try to play this role. And he says, I
- 44:49don't want nobody else to play this role. But you and I did it
- 44:53so quick. We were He wrote all the scripts. You know, we
- 44:59have the rehearsals, rehearsal, this is where, this is where, you
- 45:02know, everything just became so like, like so so great for me.
- 45:07I've always been a music person my whole entire life. You know, you
- 45:12know my mom, if you ask my mom, you know, as a
- 45:14young boy, I always loved music. I would write down the lyrics to
- 45:16the words and I would just listen to the songs very closely. I was
- 45:21very, very very into music my whole entire life. My mom, she
- 45:23was, she was an MC in high school. Her name was Madam miss
- 45:28and you know she had me at a young age and you know, around
- 45:30her time is when hip hop was, you know, first coming out,
- 45:34and she was a she was an MC. So I've basically just been around
- 45:37hip hop and music black music my whole entire life. So when I went
- 45:44to rehearsal for the very first time, you know, we were trying to
- 45:45figure out a way for me to be able to learn my lines. So
- 45:52we came up with a solution the first rehearsal. So we were all everybody
- 45:58that so let's just say there's four people in the scene, and you know,
- 46:00we have a script supervisor. He's the person that you know, helps
- 46:04us with the script. So you know, everybody in the scene, they
- 46:08would you know, say their lines, and then when it was my turn
- 46:12to say my line, the script supervisor he would tell me what to say
- 46:15and then I would repeat the line and we would record the whole thing and
- 46:21he would send me the notes. So we record all the scenes with everybody
- 46:24saying their lines, and I would just go home and just listen to it
- 46:28like music. I would just put it on and just listen to it like
- 46:30I would listening to like a like a NA song, or a jay Z
- 46:32song, or a Biggie song, And I was just listening to it,
- 46:38and we will rehearse twice once a week, actually once a week every Thursday.
- 46:43We would rehearse all together, the whole cast. So the first rehearsal
- 46:47we record the lines. The second herd rehearsal, I know all my lines,
- 46:53So by the second rehearsal, I'm the only person that knows their lines
- 47:00and I'm the blind guy. No one else knows all their lines but me,
- 47:04and to me, I'm not gonna lie me. Learning my lines this
- 47:07way it was ten times easier than learning lines reading them. So just listening
- 47:13to the listening to the words, and listening to the lines, I was
- 47:17able to memorize it ten times faster and it just it brought It made my
- 47:22acting ten times more and more better. And it was a lot of work.
- 47:28I'm just so proud of it. And I would love for you guys
- 47:30to check out Super and gold Man. It's an amazing episode. Gotta check
- 47:37It's an amazing, amazing season, the whole entire season right now. He
- 47:42has seven episodes out. You gotta check it out. Yeah, well,
- 47:54we're definitely gonna be checking it out, so know that we're gonna be making

- 48:36of her working and putting in that work and having a fun, great time.
- 48:38You know, we don't just work. We go to games. She
- 48:42goes to what do you do? Tell them what you're doing a regular bation,
- 48:45what you basically with practice and stuff, and then when game time be
- 48:50coming up, I'll be like shooting on those people, killing them, like
- 48:52you know what I'd be doing. And what else do you do for fun?
- 48:55Like, oh yeah, basically cool jumping houses, playhouse and go play.
- 49:02They love to go. She loves to go to the jumping houses and
- 49:05the trampolines, and you know, we go to those type of places every
- 49:09single week. I make sure that she has more than She definitely has a
- 49:15wonderful life as a child, and people's people see her videos because you know,
- 49:20I don't have a Sosa's instagram isn't you know, just an instagram for
- 49:23a cute kid. This is like an instagram for a person that's motivated and
- 49:29working to be something. You know, We're not just like on there just
- 49:31like taking little cute pictures and cute outfits like, No, this is not
- 49:37that at all. This is straight a little girl who's motivating and inspiring people
- 49:43and trying to be great to achieve all the goals that she wants to achieve
- 49:46in her life. So that's what we post on her instagram. They don't
- 49:49see. They don't see all of the jumpy house stuff and the movies and
- 49:53the parks. They don't they don't see all that type of stuff. So
- 49:57people think that all Sosa does is work card but do you what do you
- 50:02do so much funds O day? Yes, every day. Yeah. So
- 50:14Sosa's instagram is Sosa to Cruise s O s A the Number two Cruise,
- 50:22And my instagram is CEO Underscore, s O S Underscore, CEO Underscore,
- 50:29s O S Underscore. And you know, all of the content from my
- 50:34show is on their content from Sosa, you know, with her training and
- 50:37her games and you know, everything that we do. You can find everything
- 50:42on there. You know this is you know, she has her she has
- 50:45her merch, she has everything, she has hoodies, she has shirts,
- 50:49she has leggings everything. You know, she's a she's a brand herself,
- 50:52so she has her own brand. You know, we have to you know,
- 50:57she's different, so we do different things. Thank my girl. Yeah,
