- 0:00Leviticus chapter 19 Let us pray, our Father, who's in
- 0:09heaven, holy is your name, your Kingdom come, and your will be
- 0:18done here on this earth, just as it is there.
- 0:22Heaven give us this day, Our Daily Bread.
- 0:29Forgive us for our many sins. God, help us to forgive those
- 0:35who sin against us. Not let us be LED off into
- 0:41temptation. God, but deliver us from the
- 0:43evil one, For yours is the power of the Kingdom, the glory, the
- 0:48honor, forever and ever. Jesus Christ, Nazareth, the
- 0:55branch, the long-awaited Messiah, Yeshua.
- 1:01So we pray through. Father, we thank you God, for
- 1:05hearing our prayers. Thank you, God, for answering
- 1:09our prayers. Thank you, God, that we can come
- 1:12into the holiest of holy places. Father, teach us your statues.
- 1:17Teach us your ways. God, thank you for covenant.
- 1:21Lord, thank you for bringing us from death to life.
- 1:25Lord, thank you for opening up our eyes, unstopping our ears.
- 1:29Thank you God, for reason and the ability to come, Lord, and
- 1:34to think about these things, to read, Father, to absorb, to
- 1:40meditate upon these words. Father, we know that heaven and
- 1:45earth shall pass away, but not one of these words.
- 1:48Thank you God, that Jesus is the word or we love you.
- 1:52Father, Holy Spirit Phyllis, today I decrease as you increase
- 1:57King Jesus, we love you and send your holy and precious and
- 2:01powerful name that I pray. Amen.
- 2:06Let's start in verse one. And the Lord spoke unto Moses,
- 2:13saying, too, speak unto the congregation of the children of
- 2:18Israel, and say unto them, You shall be holy.
- 2:22For I the Lord your God am holy. So that is what is available to
- 2:27us. Friends, you need to understand
- 2:29it's not about your merit, it's not about what you've done, it's
- 2:32not about your behavior modification.
- 2:35You can be holy because He is holy.
- 2:38And when you have the Holy Spirit indwelling you, friends,
- 2:43you need to understand that as the Holy Spirit is inside of
- 2:48you, that is part of the Godhead, the Trinity, part of
- 2:52the Trinity lives inside of you. St.
- 2:55What an amazing thought. You could be holy because God is
- 2:59holy, not because of anything that you have done.
- 3:02It is all about what He did for us on that cross 2000 years ago.
- 3:08The pinnacle of every people group is the cross of Christ.
- 3:13It is Calvary. It's the loftiest idea in
- 3:17literature. Friends, this is the reality
- 3:21that we must sink into is that the least in the Kingdom of God
- 3:28is greater than anyone who is born of woman.
- 3:31Think about it. For turn you not unto idols, nor
- 3:39make to yourselves molten gods. I am the Lord your God.
- 3:44You shall have no other gods beside El Elyon, the Most High
- 3:49God. He is all powerful, all knowing,
- 3:53and ever present everywhere all at once.
- 3:56Every other God is an idol who cannot see and cannot hear and
- 4:00cannot speak. There's only one true living God
- 4:04and his name is Yahweh. Yahweh Everlasting, the God of
- 4:09the Jews, Adonai Five. And if you offer a sacrifice of
- 4:18peace offerings unto the Lord, you shall offer it at your own
- 4:21will. So the peace offerings, friends,
- 4:24was voluntary, and it was for them to come and to have
- 4:28communion. It was a family order.
- 4:32Everyone got to participate. The priest got his portion, and
- 4:37it was of their own will. 6 It shall be eaten the same day you
- 4:41offer it, and on the Morrow, and if aught remain until the 3rd
- 4:47day shall be burnt with fire. So you could eat it the first
- 4:51day and the second day, but by the third day, if there was any
- 4:55leftover, it was to be burned, it was not to be consumed.
- 4:59God doesn't want stagnant worship, friends.
- 5:03God loves the fresh bread right out of the oven.
- 5:06We cannot keep going off of yesterday's successes.
- 5:10We must lock in for today. Today is the day of salvation.
- 5:14It is a new day, friends. This is the day that the Lord
- 5:18has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in
- 5:20it. His mercies are new every day.
- 5:24We cannot ride off of Grandma and Grandpa's successes.
- 5:30We cannot ride in on their coattails, friends.
- 5:33We must have it personally in our own lives, and it must
- 5:38become fresh and new every day. Return back to your first love.
- 5:45Quit going by the wayside. Quit listening to all of the
- 5:48secular garbage all the time. Relentless information that is
- 5:54designed to drag us away from covenant, drag us away from the
- 6:00peace that we have available in Christ Jesus.
- 6:04Turn off all of the noise and put your nose in the book and
- 6:09actually read these words. I pray that you have developed a
- 6:13spiritual appetite that this is not just some feel good, get out
- 6:18of jail free card because Leviticus in the sense of every
- 6:23bit of the word is tough. It's tough to get through and we
- 6:27cannot just be so completely obsessive over New Testament and
- 6:33not have the balance of the Old Testament.
- 6:36There's so much judgment within the New Testament.
- 6:40There's so much mercy in the Old Testament.
- 6:43You see it, It's the same God yesterday, today, and forever.
- 6:47Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever,
- 6:51friends. And he is congruent from Genesis
- 6:54to Revelation. Every word, every jot, every
- 6:57title, nothing added, nothing subtracted.
- 7:00It is the complete authority, the infallible, inerrant word.
- 7:04Friends, that is what we need. We need spiritual appetite.
- 7:07In this hour six. It shall be eaten the same day 7
- 7:16and if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is an abominable.
- 7:20It shall not be accepted. So God says, I will not be in
- 7:24it. If you want to eat the food that
- 7:28has set out for three days, 8 Therefore everyone that eats it
- 7:34shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned the hallowed
- 7:37thing of the Lord, and that soul shall be cut off from among his
- 7:41people. At the end of the day, friends,
- 7:44this is for their own benefit, is to keep them from being
- 7:49sickly, is to keep them from disease, and is to keep them
- 7:54from being eradicated. You need to understand God knows
- 7:58what He's doing, and he gave them this provision for their
- 8:02own health benefits, friends. And there is a spiritual
- 8:06connotation, of course, which is that God desires freshness and
- 8:10newness every day, not yesterday's old bread. 9 And
- 8:18when you reap the harvest of the land, you shall not wholly reap
- 8:22the corners of the field, neither shall you gather the
- 8:25gleanings of the harvest. So what you need to understand
- 8:28this was a way for God to take care of the poor.
- 8:31And if you were a landowner and you were able to put the crops
- 8:36down in your fields, you were not to try and be stingy and try
- 8:42to get every last kernel, every last piece of grain.
- 8:47You were to leave it in the corners for the poor to be able
- 8:51to come in. And they had to get up, just
- 8:53like the birds God provides. But they had to get up, and they
- 8:56had to go out, and they had to work. 10 You shall not glean
- 9:02your vineyard, neither shall you gather every grape of the
- 9:05vineyard. You shall leave them for the
- 9:07poor and stranger. I am the Lord your God.
- 9:11He is the Lord God. He's the one that gets to tell
- 9:14us what to do. We don't get to shake our fistic
- 9:17God and tell God how to behave. It doesn't work that way,
- 9:20friends. 11 You shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither
- 9:25lie one to another. Very simple stuff here, friends.
- 9:29God deals with it at the infancy, before it ever becomes
- 9:33something larger, and before it becomes mature.
- 9:36God says Deal with it in its infancy. 12 And you shall not
- 9:42swear by my name falsely, neither shall you profane the
- 9:45name of your God. I am the Lord.
- 9:49So, so much of this was written on the tablets of stone, and
- 9:54this is God reiterating it back to them, letting them know that
- 9:57He meant what He said and He said what He meant.
- 10:00And it still holds true today, friends, that we need to honor
- 10:04God. We do not need to take His name
- 10:07in vain. No lying, no stealing.
- 10:10He wants us to be honest in all of our dealings, and He will
- 10:14turn His face towards us. 13 You shall not defraud your neighbor,
- 10:22neither rob him. The wages of him that is hired
- 10:25shall not abide with you all night until the morning.
- 10:28So as quickly as someone earns their wages is as quickly as we
- 10:35should be paying out. God takes this very seriously.
- 10:4314 You shall not curse the deaf, don't put a stumbling block
- 10:47before the blind, but shall fear your God I am the Lord.
- 10:52So you need to understand here that God hears you when you
- 10:56curse the deaf. God sees you when you put the
- 10:59stumbling block in front of the blind.
- 11:01You need to understand that false doctrine and false
- 11:05theology, false teachers, friends, is on the rise.
- 11:08The apostate church. We do not need to be those who
- 11:12try to mix people up on purpose. You need to be someone who
- 11:15speaks the truth. And here God is saying that he
- 11:19sees every single bit of it and he will deal with it in due
- 11:23time. 15 You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment.
- 11:30You shall not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the
- 11:33person of the mighty. But in righteousness shall you
- 11:36judge your neighbor. He's saying right things are
- 11:39right. Doesn't matter if you're rich or
- 11:41poor, if you're young or old, it doesn't matter.
- 11:44And he says, listen to the entirety of the case.
- 11:48Do not pass judgment immediately.
- 11:50Do not judge a book by the cover you need to sit.
- 11:53Listen to all the facts before you make a good judgment. 16 You
- 11:59shall not go up and down as a tail bearer among your people,
- 12:03neither shall you stand against the blood of your neighbor.
- 12:06I am the Lord. So he's saying, do not be a busy
- 12:09body gossip. Don't be out there just trying
- 12:11to talk just to hear yourself. Don't be out there just trying
- 12:17to win favor with people by telling them all kinds of
- 12:20stories. You need to be those who are
- 12:23quick to listen and slow to speak and slow to anger.
- 12:27And here he's saying, do not stand against the blood of your
- 12:30neighbor. So if somebody has been wrong,
- 12:32speak up and out against the atrocities, friends.
- 12:37That is what is spoken of here. 17 You shall not hate your
- 12:40brother in your heart. You shall in any ways rebuke
- 12:45your neighbor and not suffer sin upon him.
- 12:48Speak up and out over the things that are happening.
- 12:52Do not be silent on these matters, friends.
- 12:57And Jesus says that having hate in your heart for a brother is
- 13:01like murder. 18 You shall not avenge nor bear any grudge
- 13:07against the children of your people, but you shall love your
- 13:10neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
- 13:13Jesus told us this in the New Testament.
- 13:16He tells us to love the Lord God with all your heart, with all
- 13:19your mind, with all your soul, and love your neighbor as
- 13:22yourself. You feed yourself, you care for
- 13:25yourself, you dress yourself, you give yourself a drink of
- 13:29water. You are loved and you need to
- 13:33understand that that love for yourself needs to continue out
- 13:38into the community, into the family of brothers and sisters.
- 13:44Love people, love people. And you need to understand that
- 13:51people who are hurting, they hurt people.
- 13:54So if you know that you are loved by a loving God who has
- 13:58forgiven all of your sins, and he's cast them as far as the
- 14:02east is from the West, and none of them will be counted against
- 14:05you, how forgiving should we be? How loving should we be?
- 14:10How open handed should we be, if that is the God that we serve?
- 14:1819 You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle
- 14:23gender with a diverse kind. You shall not sow your field
- 14:27with mingled seed, neither shall a garment mingled of linen and
- 14:31wool come upon you. So you need to understand that
- 14:36what is being mentioned here in this verse and this verse gets
- 14:40taken out of context a lot. But what is mentioned here is
- 14:44Pagan rituals where they thought there was some kind of occult
- 14:49power in mixing of the seeds and mixing of the different
- 14:54materials and they thought that it was supposed to give them
- 14:59some kind of pseudo power over any kind of divinations.
- 15:06And God here saying do not be like the Pagan nations that
- 15:09you're going into that I'm driving out that are being
- 15:12vomited out of the land because of all of these things, these
- 15:16infractions that God has seen. Nothing is missed on God.
- 15:20He hears everything. He sees everything.
- 15:23Nothing done in the dark is hidden from God.
- 15:26It will all be brought out to the light.
- 15:28And God sending the Israelites into the land of Canaan was
- 15:32because there's sin had heaped up to heaven.
- 15:35God had seen it all, and he was dealing with it, and he was
- 15:38using the Israelites to be an instrument in his hand. 20 And
- 15:47whosoever lies carnally with the woman, that is a bond made,
- 15:51betrothed to a husband, and not at all redeem, nor freedom given
- 15:56her, she shall be scourged. They shall not be put to death
- 16:01because she was not free. So this would have been a woman
- 16:05who was an indentured servant, and this would have been a
- 16:09sexual altercation with a man who was free, and he took
- 16:14advantage, and she was betrothed to someone else.
- 16:17And what God is saying is, she had no real part in this.
- 16:23She felt as if she had to do it because she had no rights or no
- 16:27liberty to say no. And he is the one who is at
- 16:31fault and not her. 21 And he shall bring his trespass
- 16:35offering unto the Lord, unto the door of the Tabernacle of the
- 16:39congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.
- 16:42So he is meant to make it right, make it good to pay for his
- 16:48disgusting act. 22 And the priest shall make an atonement
- 16:53for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the
- 16:56Lord for his sin which he has done.
- 16:59And the sin which he has done shall be forgiven him, as long
- 17:03as he made it good, and he made it right, and it would be
- 17:05forgiven him. And he is to marry this woman
- 17:09now. 23 And when you shall come into the land, and shall have
- 17:13planted all manner of trees for food, then you shall count the
- 17:17fruit of it as uncircumcised. 3 years shall it be uncircumcised
- 17:22unto you, and it shall not be eaten of.
- 17:25God says, Let the ground rest. God says, don't be so stingy
- 17:30that you go out there trying to pick every little thing.
- 17:32Let the birds, let the animals have their way.
- 17:35And as they come in and as they dig around, it is actually
- 17:39beneficial for that that tree. It is actually beneficial for
- 17:42the Grove and for the vineyard. You need to understand that God
- 17:45orchestrated all of these things.
- 17:47He's the one that put it all into motion.
- 17:50And He knows what is good. And if we'll listen to Him, we
- 17:53will reap the benefits even when it comes to planting and even
- 17:57when it comes to how we set up our farms and our lands, even as
- 18:04we set up in the places that He puts us.
- 18:08You need to understand it. God knows what He's doing.
- 18:11He has all the creatures on this earth, and they all serve a very
- 18:14distinct purpose. And it all works beautifully.
- 18:17It's a Symphony, Friends. 24 But in the fourth year, all the
- 18:25fruit of it shall be holy, to praise the Lord with all.
- 18:30So then he says, after three years of letting it rest, then
- 18:34it is unto him. 25 And in the 5th year you shall eat of the
- 18:39fruit of it, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof.
- 18:43I am the Lord your God. So by the 5th year you're able
- 18:47to actually partake. The three years is for rest and
- 18:53for the animals, and then the 4th year is for the priests, is
- 18:57for the holy sacraments, is for them to bring in.
- 19:03And then on the 5th year they are able to eat.
- 19:06And if they were to do this, God would bless it. 26 And you shall
- 19:14eat, no, you shall eat anything, shall not eat anything with the
- 19:18blood, neither shall you use enchantment to observe time.
- 19:22So again, God here is referencing what the Pagan
- 19:25nations that they were going into were doing.
- 19:28They were using this blood and they were actually taking it and
- 19:32using it for enchantments and all kinds of occult, demonic
- 19:35practices, and it was repulsive and repugnant to the nostrils of
- 19:39a holy God, and he was going to vomit them out of the land. 27
- 19:46You shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shall you
- 19:50mar the corners of your beard. So here what he was saying is
- 19:54that they were not to look and to do the things that the Pagan
- 19:58nations were doing. They were to stand out, to be
- 20:02different. They were not to give their
- 20:04daughters over, they were not to look like them, they were not to
- 20:07practice the same things as them. 28 You shall not make any
- 20:14cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon
- 20:18you. I am the Lord.
- 20:20Again. These were the things that the
- 20:22Pagan nations were doing that were getting driven out. 29 Do
- 20:26not prostitute your daughter to cause her to be a whore, lest
- 20:30the land fall to whoredom and the land become full of
- 20:33wickedness. So these were the temple
- 20:35prostitutes that were given over to all the false gods, the
- 20:39lowercase G idols in the land, and the people thought that they
- 20:43were doing something good by giving their daughters over to
- 20:46whoredom and God detests it. 30 You shall keep my Sabbath some
- 20:52reference my sanctuary. I am the Lord. 31 regard not
- 20:57them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after Wizards to be
- 21:02defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.
- 21:05So here this would have been like a pet demon that they would
- 21:08go and they would try to conjure up and they would bring to the
- 21:12scene and they would ask questions.
- 21:14And God wants you to understand that He is all powerful.
- 21:19We should go to him about everything.
- 21:21Do not go and try to figure out what the future is.
- 21:26Don't go to fortune tellers. Don't look at astrology.
- 21:30Don't go to palm readings. Don't look at all this crystal
- 21:33ball garbage that's out here. The tarot cards.
- 21:37Do not look at this occult dark black magic, this new age
- 21:42witchcraft. We need to get it out of the
- 21:45land. It is polluting the land.
- 21:48Friends. We need revival to break out.
- 21:50We need us to be completely reliant upon God Almighty, the
- 21:55God of the Jews. That's who we serve.
- 22:01You do not want to be made unclean and dirty by all the
- 22:05disgustingness. It's out in the land. 32 You
- 22:10shall rise up before the hoary head and honor the face of the
- 22:14old man and fear your God. I am the Lord.
- 22:17So he's saying, give honor to the aged.
- 22:20Do not marginalized them and push them into facilities.
- 22:25You need to understand that they hold so much wisdom that all of
- 22:29the technology and everything that's out there cannot even
- 22:33keep up with friends inside of the human mind.
- 22:37Friends, there is a divinity, there is the image of God that
- 22:42has been imprinted, and there is no supercomputer on planet earth
- 22:46that can keep up with the processing abilities of mankind.
- 22:5133 And if a stranger sejourn with you in the land, you shall
- 22:55not vex him. 34 But the stranger that dwells with you shall be
- 23:00unto you as one born among you, and you shall love him as
- 23:03yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
- 23:06I am the Lord your God. Over and over and over God tells
- 23:11us that he is Lord. Over and over and over he tells
- 23:14us that we need to take care of people.
- 23:16We don't need to try to kick people down and try to climb the
- 23:21ladder and try to exalt self and be prideful.
- 23:24That is a good way for you to be humble. 35 You shall do no
- 23:29unrighteousness and judgment and meet your weight and measure. 36
- 23:35Just balances, just weights and a EPA and a hand, just him shall
- 23:40you have. I am the Lord your God, which
- 23:42brought you out of the land of Egypt.
- 23:44He's saying make sure that in all of your dealings that you
- 23:48are honest and fair and that you use the correct balances and do
- 23:53not try to cheat somebody, because God sees it all. 37
- 23:57Therefore shall you observe all my statutes and all my judgments
- 24:02and do them. I am the Lord your God.
- 24:05You need to understand that God sees it all and He's moving
- 24:08everything in a accordance to His plan.
- 24:11And we need to get under the yoke of Jesus and we need to
- 24:14make sure that we're found standing with God and that we
- 24:17have not turned our backs on all of the things that the Lord has
- 24:20told us that is good. And Jesus came and fulfilled
- 24:24every single bit of this. And if you truly love Jesus, you
- 24:28will keep His commands. I hope that you've been blessed
- 24:31by this amazing chapter in God's Word.
- 24:33I know I sure have. I'm praying for every single one
- 24:36of you. I love you.
- 24:37We'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 24:39God bless you.
