In which two humble fishermen from the north find themselves bewildered by the clamorous streets of London, their thoughts turning to the divine amid the city's clamour and confusion, and Malcolm endeavours to find Lady Bellair’s new residence whilst grappling with the constraints of his own integrity and station. In their wanderings, they discover solemn refuge in Westminster Abbey and soon Malcolm’s ventures lead him to a great theatre, where the strange new world of London life unfolds before his eyes.
