- 0:00SPEAKER_00: This is the spiritual realist, and I'm Scarlett Drown.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: This is a space for honest conversation about spirituality, individuality, and growth.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Welcome to opening your mind without pressure, performance, or pretending.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: From views to heavenly minded but earthly good.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: From church fans to creed.
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: But the dirt still know the truth.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Let's begin.
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: Scarlet draw speak.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: So we are going to ring our single, get rid of any negative energy that's here between us so that we can have this time uninterrupted together.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: So in our handy dandy alabaster box, we have copal.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: I love the smell of it.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: This is one of my favorite things to burn.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: It is good for energetic cleaning, spiritual protection, meditation, focus, and lastly, divine and ancestral connection.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: This you can use in the form of a smoke.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: It's called the smoky prayer.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: That's one of the things that COPAL is used for.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: And it's a very good way to connect with spirit when you use this.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: And you want to get rid of some, baby.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Burning.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you something.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: My whole house knows as soon as they walk in, they be like, oh yeah, she's somebody done came in here, or she done talked to somebody.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Because you know what?
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: I have to get y'all out of here.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Can't do that.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: With that being said, what if I asked you?
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Or what if I told you that the church is really just a covenant?
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Pause.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Don't jump on me.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Don't hurt me.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Don't kill me.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you why.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Think about it.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: The church does the same thing as a covenant.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: What's a coven?
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: A covenant is a community of people intentionally gathering for spiritual practices, rituals, and growth.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: What you do in church, you gather.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: What y'all have in common, the based religion, whether it's Baptist, ME, Pentecostal, whatever.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: And I ain't just talking about them churches.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: I mean Jewish, I mean apostolic, I mean Jehovah's Witness.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: I mean churches.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: They're coming.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: But because we do it in different ways, we are considered demonic.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: But let's talk about it.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Let's get into it.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Let me give you another example of a word they demonize before we get too deep.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: The word ghetto is heavily associated with oppression.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: But those communities aren't oppressed, yet they still live in a ghetto.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Now, with that being said, let's talk about it.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: Church as a coven.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Let's compare.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Let's see.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: These people gather, we gather in our different communities, spiritual communities, I mean outside of church.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Whether you want to call it Wiccan, whether you want to call it hoodoo, whether you want to call it voodoo, whether you want to call it spiritualism, even if you want to call it the New Age movement, whatever, all of those are negative connotations of the word coven.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: But in the Baptist church or in the AME church or in the apostolic church or in the Kingdom Hall or in the Catholic Church, they are considered high and religious and positive.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: But let's talk about it.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: They do the same thing.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Every first Sunday, or in the Catholic realm, often, more often than not, they eat sacrifice.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: They drank the blood.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: And in other religions, they drank the blood.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Jesus died.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: A human sacrifice was made.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: But if I sacrifice something to gain something on this side of the earth, let's say I do a goat sacrifice or a pig sacrifice or a chicken sacrifice, because I am trying to gain something for myself and my own destiny.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: I am of the devil.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: But yet, you drank this human blood ever first Sunday.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Yes, you do.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: You eat bread, leaving, the little crackers, whatever y'all do in y'all religious settings, you do say things.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about it.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: Let's say other things.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: You guys light candles.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: We know all religions use candles.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: Even in wedding ceremonies, even in the Christian wedding ceremony, they take two individual candles light as they want to unite them together.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Is that not a ritual?
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: But if I do it with my said mates that we decided we was gonna be together and I do a love ritual between us, it's of the devil, then you pray in the name of somebody.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: But if I pray in the name of my ancestors and start calling my agungoons, then I'm wrong.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: There's of the devil.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: So your one and my one ain't the same.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: Your two and my two ain't the same.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: Let's keep, we're gonna keep going.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Cause y'all ain't y'all ain't got it yet.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Let's keep going.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Let's see, y'all use white to represent purity, but if I wear white and I'm doing my year white, or if I just want to wear white to represent light and love, then you know, I'm a witch.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: But you got mothers on the motherboard sitting on the front seat.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Oh, we don't want to talk about that.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: We're gonna talk about that.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Okay, we ain't gonna talk about that.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: We're gonna talk about that.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: Let's do something else.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about something else.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: What about?
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Oh, we speak in tongues?
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: We that's too much.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: That's too much.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: Okay, it's not.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Listen, so you guys get to speak in tongues and give utterance, and some one person can speak in tongues, the next person can interpret, said song, and that's of God.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: But if I use tarot cards to interpret the same situation, I'm I'm using the devil's, the devil's tools.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Oh, let's talk about it.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: So you have oil, you have your elders gather around in a in a circle and pray over said oil so that when you lay it on said heads of other people, they can be healed, or their bodies can come, or the God can come upon them, or the spirit, let's talk about that spirit, hold that thought.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: We're gonna talk about invoking the spirit.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Hold on, I'm gonna finish one thought before I finish that one.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you pray that the spirit gains control of said person to fix said issues, and yet if I make my own oil and consecrate myself with said oil, because I'm using my own words for my own manifestation, then I'm of the devil.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: Oh, we're not enough?
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Y'all still ain't got it yet?
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Great, let's keep going.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: But what about when we, hmm, let me think about it.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: Another example would be, let's see, funerals.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, let's not talk about it because in funerals we give people all this credit, we give people all these things, we do all these rituals at a funeral and a homecoming, a homegoing, not a coming, because they're going.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: Yes, a homecoming, we do all these said things and uh we create a whole ritual around a funeral to include shouting in the spirit, meaning dancing in the spirit.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: And do you not know that that is an African tradition where people dance?
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I I digress just because that's too much for y'all.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: I get it.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: That's my whole point.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: Is it's okay when you do it, but when I do it, it's a sin.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: What's that song?
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: How that song go?
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: That's exactly what I'm talking about.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: Why is it that we allow people that take words that have no negative connotation to it, give it back to us as if it's evil, because of their own feeling that if we realize the strength in community, a spiritual community outside of a building, if we came together in a spiritual community outside of the religious box that they put us in, or that we put ourselves in, or that we continue to allow to be in, or that we continue to allow ourselves to be in, if we actually got together outside of the religion and practice what it is that gave our ancestors strength to move forward in this world, do you understand the power that be outside of that religion?
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: Because just because my covenant exists within my home and then within my own circle, within my own community of spiritualists, don't mean that my coven is bad.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: And if you decide that you want to participate in the coven that's called the church, that also right.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: That ain't bad either.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: But what you're gonna do is stop giving me the evil eye and speaking ill against my choice to use my innate and my bloodline given ability to worship the God in me a different way than you decide to worship the God outside of you.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: That's what you're gonna stop doing.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: Because I ain't over here judging you.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: So you shouldn't be over here judging me.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: If you want to see a word that doesn't have a negative meaning as a negative thing, guess what?
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: That's your right.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: You human, you get to do what you do.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: But what you're not allowed to do is come over here and try to water down mine.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: Because nine times out of ten, that prophecy was great.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: But when I read these cards, that probably was greater.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: Y'all don't like that.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: I get it, I understand.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: I ain't here to be your friend, I'm here to set the captives free.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: And the only way I can do that is by coming to you in truth.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: And the truth of the matter is we have for a long time allowed negative words.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: We for a long time have allowed words to have negative meaning which had no negative connotation to them.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Time out for that.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: So if you don't think that the church is a coven, think again.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: Because red is red, is red, is red.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: Blue is blue, is blue, is blue.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: It could be light blue, dark blue, green blue, yellow blue, orange blue, it's still blue.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: So if what I do is bad, then what you do is bad.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: If I light a candle and it's bad, then every time you light that birthday candle and make a birthday wish and send that up to heaven, guess what?
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: That's bad too.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: If every time I do something that is contrary to what you believe in is bad, when you do sad thing, it's bad too.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: I know y'all done y'all done come here for that today.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: I understand that.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: But you ain't come here for me to coddle you.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: You came here to learn something.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: And in all our getting and in all our knowledge, what we're gonna get is some understanding.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: And I need y'all to understand this.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: It's okay to practice in the coven you want to practice in.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: But call a spade a spade.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: No judgment here.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: I truly live in a no judgment zone.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: On that note, I'm Scarlet Drop, heavenly minded, always earthly good.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: I just wanted you guys to know one more thing about Cobra.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: It can come in multiple colors.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: So don't think because you got one that's black, it's not good.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: And don't think because you got one that's like uh gold, it's not good.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: Because they actually come in white, gold, and black.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: They all mean different things.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: You can go online, figure it out, use AI, use Wikipedia, use the internet, use social media, I'm sure it's enough information out there on COPA, on you getting some understanding on the different properties of the different colors.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: With that being said, if you are truly trying to find a connection with your right community and your right coven, tap in.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: It's waiting for you.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Until next time, worship well.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: From church fans decree.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: If something about this episode stays with you, then you're exactly who this space is for.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: Share with a friend you think should be here too.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: You can watch on YouTube, listen on all the podcast platforms, and continue the conversation at The Spiritual Realist.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: I'm Scarlett Drow, heavenly minded but earthly good.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: Until next time.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: The Spiritual Realist is produced by Organized Movies.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: I went from the river, from folding dead, to touch the dirt, I let the spirit guide me to the heart of the earth, garlic roads.
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: I remember every story that they spoke in the words I'm empowered by the spirit strength by my decent food.
