Holy cow. 34 00:01:27,040 --> 00:01:29,040 That is every parents' worst nightmare. 35 00:01:29,040 --> 00:01:30,040 It was. 36 00:01:30,040 --> 00:01:33,840 Did you do, not a silver alert, amber alert? 37 00:01:33,840 --> 00:01:35,040 No, it didn't go that far. 38 00:01:35,040 --> 00:01:36,640 It literally like we call, 39 00:01:36,640 --> 00:01:40,120 because this is the first year he was riding the bus 40 00:01:40,120 --> 00:01:44,480 and the school decided to wait until two days 41 00:01:44,480 --> 00:01:46,120 before the school year started to start 42 00:01:46,120 --> 00:01:47,120 figuring out the bus routes. 43 00:01:47,120 --> 00:01:49,760 Oh, that makes sense. Wait, he's back at school? 44 00:01:49,760 --> 00:01:52,360 Yeah, he started. He started today was his first day back. 45 00:01:52,360 --> 00:01:54,960 August 6th, folks. I mean, here in the north, 46 00:01:54,960 --> 00:01:56,760 it's a different story. 47 00:01:56,760 --> 00:01:58,600 Yeah, but he gets out in like May. 48 00:01:58,600 --> 00:02:01,840 Yeah, yeah. It's like a college kid. 49 00:02:01,840 --> 00:02:04,560 Yeah, but actually the colleges don't start back 50 00:02:04,560 --> 00:02:05,800 until next week. Here in Alabama, 51 00:02:05,800 --> 00:02:08,560 he's ahead of almost everybody. 52 00:02:08,560 --> 00:02:10,080 So we didn't. 53 00:02:10,080 --> 00:02:11,560 So they were supposed to college yesterday 54 00:02:11,560 --> 00:02:13,640 to say, hey, this is the bus he's going to be on. 55 00:02:13,640 --> 00:02:14,840 This is what time they run. 56 00:02:14,840 --> 00:02:16,040 They never called. 57 00:02:16,040 --> 00:02:19,080 So we took Sammy to school this morning. 58 00:02:19,080 --> 00:02:20,200 I went to work. 59 00:02:20,200 --> 00:02:23,000 Wife went up to school to figure out the bus situation. 60 00:02:23,000 --> 00:02:25,000 They get it all sorted out. 61 00:02:25,000 --> 00:02:27,120 They let us know what bus he's supposed to be on. 62 00:02:27,120 --> 00:02:29,200 What rowdy's on and what time he's going to get home. 63 00:02:29,200 --> 00:02:31,760 Well, the wife calls me at 315. 64 00:02:31,760 --> 00:02:35,280 She's like, there hasn't been a bus that's come by here yet. 65 00:02:35,280 --> 00:02:37,360 I don't know where Sammy is. 66 00:02:37,360 --> 00:02:39,040 So she calls. 67 00:02:39,040 --> 00:02:42,400 She calls what they she reaches out to what they call the bus 68 00:02:42,400 --> 00:02:44,200 barn, which is where all the buses go to park 69 00:02:44,200 --> 00:02:45,200 at the end of the day. 70 00:02:45,200 --> 00:02:47,400 Yeah, and they have a person overseas it. 71 00:02:47,400 --> 00:02:48,880 And she contacts them. 72 00:02:48,880 --> 00:02:51,760 And so they start looking for buses trying to figure out 73 00:02:51,760 --> 00:02:52,920 where he's at. 74 00:02:52,920 --> 00:02:56,520 So they actually called the bus driver of the bus that he's 75 00:02:56,520 --> 00:02:58,200 assigned to and the guy's driving. 76 00:02:58,200 --> 00:03:00,120 He's like, I don't see anybody on my bus right now. 77 00:03:00,120 --> 00:03:03,240 I'm actually headed back towards the shop. 78 00:03:03,240 --> 00:03:04,840 He goes, give me a few minutes. 79 00:03:04,840 --> 00:03:06,680 Like he goes, I'll pull over. 80 00:03:06,680 --> 00:03:09,200 I'll do a search of the bus. 81 00:03:09,200 --> 00:03:11,560 And but I don't see anybody on here. 82 00:03:11,560 --> 00:03:14,760 So sure enough, like another 10 minutes goes by. 83 00:03:14,760 --> 00:03:16,640 He gets he's able to get off the road, look. 84 00:03:16,640 --> 00:03:18,480 And then they're saying he's just same age 85 00:03:18,480 --> 00:03:21,720 just kind of crouched down in his seat and it was half a sleep. 86 00:03:21,720 --> 00:03:24,200 And the bus driver didn't know him because he's brand new. 87 00:03:24,200 --> 00:03:26,240 Thought he was a different kid than it 88 00:03:26,240 --> 00:03:28,640 had already gotten off the bus. 89 00:03:28,640 --> 00:03:33,480 And so turns around, calls Megan, let it say no. 90 00:03:33,480 --> 00:03:35,640 Hey, you know, we're going to bring Sammy back. 91 00:03:35,640 --> 00:03:36,160 He's on his way. 92 00:03:36,160 --> 00:03:37,920 We'll be there about 15 minutes. 93 00:03:37,920 --> 00:03:40,440 She bring-- and then bus pulls up. 94 00:03:40,440 --> 00:03:41,080 Door is open. 95 00:03:41,080 --> 00:03:43,720 Sammy jumps off the bus smiling. 96 00:03:43,720 --> 00:03:44,320 Like what happens? 97 00:03:44,320 --> 00:03:45,880 I know the park. 98 00:03:45,880 --> 00:03:47,280 Yeah, like no big deal. 99 00:03:47,280 --> 00:03:52,000 Like you just had the best old time traveling around. 100 00:03:52,000 --> 00:03:55,040 And like when I got home, she goes, you know this is your fault. 101 00:03:55,040 --> 00:03:56,040 I said, what do you mean? 102 00:03:56,040 --> 00:03:56,560 She was like, no, no, no. 103 00:03:56,560 --> 00:03:58,200 She's like, I'm happy he wasn't freaked out. 104 00:03:58,200 --> 00:04:02,480 But she goes, you load him up and take him everywhere. 105 00:04:02,480 --> 00:04:04,080 Like to North Carolina. 106 00:04:04,080 --> 00:04:06,760 And like all these know where he's going. 110 00:04:11,240 --> 00:04:12,560 He's just so cool. 111 00:04:12,560 --> 00:04:16,320 But yeah, for about an hour, I was freaking out. 112 00:04:16,320 --> 00:04:17,800 I think 00:06:47,440 --> 00:06:48,920 I, Jacob Fattu and the Usos, Dr. 203 00:06:48,920 --> 00:06:51,880 trade LA Knight Solosiko and Royce Keys. 204 00:06:51,880 --> 00:06:54,040 Gunther defeats Nick Aldis. 205 00:06:54,040 --> 00:06:56,000 We both had Gunther, fatal influence. 206 00:06:56,000 --> 00:06:57,480 Defeats the Bell twins and Paige. 207 00:06:57,480 --> 00:06:59,520 We both had the Bell twins and Paige. 208 00:06:59,520 --> 00:07:02,680 CM Punk defeats Cody Rhodes, retain the NSVW E-Champion 209 00:07:02,680 --> 00:07:02,960 chip. 210 00:07:02,960 --> 00:07:06,360 We both had CM Punk and Oba Femi defeats Brock Lesnar 211 00:07:06,360 --> 00:07:08,120 in a Hell in a Cell match. 212 00:07:08,120 --> 00:07:09,880 We both had Oba Femi. 213 00:07:09,880 --> 00:07:12,120 We both went four and two. 214 00:07:12,120 --> 00:07:18,320 We'll go through some of the full recap here in just a few minutes. 215 00:07:18,320 --> 00:07:20,120 But on the onset here, Dr. 216 00:07:20,120 --> 00:07:23,240 trade, match of the night event ratings for Summer's 217 00:07:23,240 --> 00:07:24,000 Lamp Saturday. 218 00:07:24,000 --> 00:07:26,800 I gave it a 4.2 out of five. 219 00:07:26,800 --> 00:07:29,560 And my match of the night, I thought it stalled the show, 220 00:07:29,560 --> 00:07:31,800 was Live Morgan and EO Sky, which was a tough call, 221 00:07:31,800 --> 00:07:36,000 because I really enjoyed CM Punk versus Cody Rhodes as well. 222 00:07:36,000 --> 00:07:37,560 Yeah, and then this is where we differed. 223 00:07:37,560 --> 00:07:40,240 So I actually did go CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, 224 00:07:40,240 --> 00:07:43,000 and partially because of the Randy Orton stuff. 225 00:07:43,000 --> 00:07:45,360 You know, die hard, long time Randy Orton fans 226 00:07:45,360 --> 00:07:46,280 was seeing Randy back. 227 00:07:46,280 --> 00:07:47,520 It makes my heart feel good. 228 00:07:47,520 --> 00:07:49,480 And it also solves the problem that United 229 00:07:49,480 --> 00:07:50,400 talked about last week. 230 00:07:50,400 --> 00:07:53,360 How do you have this match finish and have both guys still 231 00:07:53,360 --> 00:07:54,920 be baby faces afterwards? 232 00:07:54,920 --> 00:07:57,480 And that was a good way to set it up. 233 00:07:57,480 --> 00:07:58,920 I actually had it a 4.1. 234 00:07:58,920 --> 00:07:59,840 I enjoyed the show. 235 00:07:59,840 --> 00:08:02,280 I thought it was very solid. 236 00:08:02,280 --> 00:08:03,880 But for me, the big takeaway would 237 00:08:03,880 --> 00:08:08,480 be that there wasn't anything that-- I mean, the Oba Brock 238 00:08:08,480 --> 00:08:12,400 stuff at the end, like five years from now, will probably 239 00:08:12,400 --> 00:08:14,120 be more memorable than it is right now, 240 00:08:14,120 --> 00:08:16,840 like the passing of the torch. 241 00:08:16,840 --> 00:08:23,320 But not really like a match of the year candidate on this card. 242 00:08:23,320 --> 00:08:26,920 So it was a solid show, well-built show, well-structured show, 243 00:08:26,920 --> 00:08:28,760 but just nothing to them. 244 00:08:28,760 --> 00:08:30,080 Like, oh, that was amazing. 245 00:08:30,080 --> 00:08:31,560 I can't believe that happened. 246 00:08:31,560 --> 00:08:34,240 We will certainly peel through some of these matches here 247 00:08:34,240 --> 00:08:36,640 in the big moments and everything that happened afterwards 248 00:08:36,640 --> 00:08:39,160 here in just a moment as we go through night, too. 249 00:08:39,160 --> 00:08:41,880 Sunday, August the second after tray. 250 00:08:41,880 --> 00:08:43,400 This was originally a 1-on-1 match. 251 00:08:43,400 --> 00:08:44,600 Sami Zayn versus Finn Balor. 252 00:08:44,600 --> 00:08:47,360 But it became a fatal 4-way with Gunther involved 253 00:08:47,360 --> 00:08:49,480 and the returning Kevin Owens. 254 00:08:49,480 --> 00:08:51,280 Kevin Owens defeats Sami Zayn, Finn Balor, 255 00:08:51,280 --> 00:08:52,920 and Gunther in a fatal 4-way match 256 00:08:52,920 --> 00:08:56,600 to be the new number one contender to the NSP WWE Championship. 257 00:08:56,600 --> 00:08:58,120 Both Dr. Trey and I had Finn Balor, 258 00:08:58,120 --> 00:09:00,280 because obviously we didn't know Gunther or Kevin Owens 259 00:09:00,280 --> 00:09:01,840 was gonna be in it. 260 00:09:01,840 --> 00:09:04,000 Baron Corbin defeats Trick Williams to win the United States 261 00:09:04,000 --> 00:09:04,920 Championship. 262 00:09:04,920 --> 00:09:06,400 We both had Baron Corbin. 263 00:09:06,400 --> 00:09:07,960 Chelsea Green defeats Tiffany Straton, 264 00:09:07,960 --> 00:09:10,680 Jade Cargill, Shrouda Flare and Lash Legend in a five-woman 265 00:09:10,680 --> 00:09:13,280 ladder match to win the Interom WWE Women's Championship. 266 00:09:13,280 --> 00:09:16,040 We both had Chelsea Green, Dan Housen defeats Dominic 267 00:09:16,040 --> 00:09:18,880 Mysterio in a human monies on a pole match. 268 00:09:18,880 --> 00:09:21,520 We both had Dan Housen Chad Gable defeats Penta 269 00:09:21,520 --> 00:09:22,880 to win the Intercontinental Championship. 270 00:09:22,880 --> 00:09:24,160 We both had Chad Gable. 271 00:09:24,160 --> 00:09:25,920 However, we did not have him celebrating 272 00:09:25,920 --> 00:09:28,080 with a mug group here afterwards. 273 00:09:28,080 --> 00:09:30,200 Roman Reigns defeats Seth Rollins 274 00:09:30,200 --> 00:09:32,440 to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. 275 00:09:32,440 --> 00:09:33,720 We both had Roman Reigns. 276 00:09:33,720 --> 00:09:35,480 Both went five and one on this. 277 00:09:35,480 --> 00:09:36,800 We come out of the weekend, Dr. Trey. 278 00:09:36,800 --> 00:09:40,480 I'm up 34 and 15 in the PPV prediction record. 279 00:09:40,480 --> 00:09:42,760 You are 33 and 16. 280 00:09:42,760 --> 00:09:44,760 A vent rating and match of the night. 281 00:09:44,760 --> 00:09:46,680 I loved this night of Summer Slam. 282 00:09:46,680 --> 00:09:49,400 I give it a 4.3 and my match of the night 283 00:09:49,400 --> 00:09:51,520 was Roman Reigns versus Seth Rollins. 284 00:09:51,520 --> 00:09:53,280 What say you? 285 00:09:53,280 --> 00:09:56,280 - So I actually had it higher. 286 00:09:56,280 --> 00:09:59,320 I had a 4.4 so I'm a little bit higher. 287 00:09:59,320 --> 00:10:02,080 Mainly because I got Kevin Owens 288 00:10:02,080 --> 00:10:04,240 of Sammy Zane back in the same ring again. 289 00:10:04,240 --> 00:10:05,840 That was my match of the night and that was my field 290 00:10:05,840 --> 00:10:07,000 good moment. 291 00:10:07,000 --> 00:10:09,560 17 months away from the ring. 292 00:10:09,560 --> 00:10:12,640 God, I missed having Kevin Owens around. 293 00:10:12,640 --> 00:10:17,960 In-ring-wise, Roman and Seth was a better in-ring match 294 00:10:17,960 --> 00:10:20,880 but I go back into the fields. 295 00:10:20,880 --> 00:10:22,200 You put those two guys in the ring 296 00:10:22,200 --> 00:10:23,840 and you could damn near put any. 297 00:10:23,840 --> 00:10:26,480 You could put Kevin Owens of Sammy Zane 298 00:10:26,480 --> 00:10:29,000 in that match with Dan Housen and Dominic 299 00:10:29,000 --> 00:10:31,640 and made it human money's on a pole four way match. 300 00:10:31,640 --> 00:10:33,120 I'd probably have been my match tonight. 301 00:10:33,120 --> 00:10:35,720 Just seeing Kevin Owens back got me really happy. 302 00:10:35,720 --> 00:10:38,720 And then plus the prospect of a Kevin Owens 303 00:10:38,720 --> 00:10:43,720 CM Punk World title feud like on paper on the microphone. 304 00:10:43,720 --> 00:10:48,320 That might be mine in Jeff's SRTU Dream scenario. 305 00:10:48,320 --> 00:10:49,640 Those two guys going at it. 306 00:10:49,640 --> 00:10:50,480 - Absolutely. 307 00:10:50,480 --> 00:10:51,800 So there you go. 308 00:10:51,800 --> 00:10:54,960 It's so far Summer Slam on the WWE front 309 00:10:54,960 --> 00:10:56,840 is the highest rated show for both of us 310 00:10:56,840 --> 00:10:58,160 right now, Dr. Trey. 311 00:10:58,160 --> 00:11:00,520 Again, I went rains and Rollins, Dr. Trey 312 00:11:00,520 --> 00:11:02,960 went the fatal four way to open up the show. 313 00:11:02,960 --> 00:11:05,880 From a WWE standpoint, not really shocking here 314 00:11:05,880 --> 00:11:08,360 to say that this has probably been their best PLE 315 00:11:08,360 --> 00:11:09,360 so far this year. 316 00:11:09,360 --> 00:11:13,200 - Yeah, not really surprising. 317 00:11:13,200 --> 00:11:17,880 And just kind of like, just kind of the show, 318 00:11:17,880 --> 00:11:19,360 they're starting to really, 319 00:11:19,360 --> 00:11:21,160 I don't say they're starting to invest in Summer Slam 320 00:11:21,160 --> 00:11:23,760 but it does have a much better a-off 321 00:11:23,760 --> 00:11:25,280 than maybe some years past where Russell 322 00:11:25,280 --> 00:11:27,320 mainly kind of outshined it. 323 00:11:27,320 --> 00:11:31,440 This kind of felt like the first really solid 324 00:11:31,440 --> 00:11:34,080 from beginning to end Summer Slam that we've had 325 00:11:34,080 --> 00:11:34,920 in a few years. 326 00:11:34,920 --> 00:11:37,160 There really, I mean, you can make jokes about 327 00:11:37,160 --> 00:11:38,600 Dan House and Dominic Mysterio 328 00:11:38,600 --> 00:11:40,520 and all the mini-housings and everything else 329 00:11:40,520 --> 00:11:42,720 and you know, giant head JD and all that 330 00:11:42,720 --> 00:11:45,080 but really from top to bottom, 331 00:11:45,080 --> 00:11:46,960 just a really, really solid show. 332 00:11:46,960 --> 00:11:50,480 And you know, plus I guess getting Kevin Owens back 333 00:11:50,480 --> 00:11:53,000 makes me as a wrestling fan super happy. 334 00:11:53,000 --> 00:11:54,680 - Yeah, yeah, it was great to see Kevin Owens 335 00:11:54,680 --> 00:11:57,560 back in there and then seeing the Seth Rollins. 336 00:11:57,560 --> 00:11:58,720 - Excuse me, the Kevin Owens, 337 00:11:58,720 --> 00:12:01,480 CM Punk match in the future is gonna be a ton of fun. 338 00:12:01,480 --> 00:12:04,200 So some talking points coming out of this doctor tray. 339 00:12:04,200 --> 00:12:06,840 The first being here, WWE's two world championship pictures 340 00:12:06,840 --> 00:12:09,080 now have clear directions. 341 00:12:09,080 --> 00:12:11,200 You have Randy Orton return and Coss Cody Rhodes, 342 00:12:11,200 --> 00:12:12,600 the NSP WWE Championship, 343 00:12:12,600 --> 00:12:13,960 allowing CM Punk to retain 344 00:12:13,960 --> 00:12:17,160 and immediately spinning Cody into another major program, 345 00:12:17,160 --> 00:12:19,080 opening up the stuff there with him and Orton. 346 00:12:19,080 --> 00:12:20,520 Kevin Owens surprises return, 347 00:12:20,520 --> 00:12:22,240 surprise return in Fatal Four-Away victory, 348 00:12:22,240 --> 00:12:24,360 Stalasimus Punk's next challenger. 349 00:12:24,360 --> 00:12:27,280 Roman finally defeated Seth cleanly, 350 00:12:27,280 --> 00:12:28,880 but Ellie and I confronted him on RAW, 351 00:12:28,880 --> 00:12:32,240 called him a fraud and demanded a title opportunity. 352 00:12:32,240 --> 00:12:34,480 Going back to the Punk KO match, 353 00:12:34,480 --> 00:12:36,240 does the Punk KO feel? 354 00:12:36,240 --> 00:12:39,440 Does Punk KO feel like a major title rivalry 355 00:12:39,440 --> 00:12:41,960 or merely a bridge to something bigger? 356 00:12:41,960 --> 00:12:46,320 - Right now with both guys, 357 00:12:46,320 --> 00:12:47,600 kind of being baby faced again, 358 00:12:47,600 --> 00:12:48,920 it does kind of feel like a bridge. 359 00:12:48,920 --> 00:12:52,320 I don't see unless something drastic happens 360 00:12:52,320 --> 00:12:54,120 in KO's size with Sammy. 361 00:12:54,120 --> 00:12:57,800 I kind of see this as just, 362 00:12:57,800 --> 00:13:00,080 hey, we're doing this match to possibly set up 363 00:13:00,080 --> 00:13:02,160 another four-way at some point, 364 00:13:02,160 --> 00:13:03,840 you know, or some kind of angle 365 00:13:03,840 --> 00:13:05,200 and falling involving Sammy. 366 00:13:05,200 --> 00:13:07,080 I mean, as you and I know this, 367 00:13:07,080 --> 00:13:08,800 like it's really hard for them 368 00:13:08,800 --> 00:13:11,960 to always keep Sammy and Kevin apart. 369 00:13:11,960 --> 00:13:12,880 So it just kind of feels, 370 00:13:12,880 --> 00:13:15,520 and plus with Kevin coming back from a neck injury, 371 00:13:15,520 --> 00:13:18,600 you kind of want him in there with guys he trusts and knows, 372 00:13:18,600 --> 00:13:20,800 and you know, that four-way with Finn, 373 00:13:20,800 --> 00:13:23,680 he knows Finn for years, he's known Sammy. 374 00:13:23,680 --> 00:13:26,760 Gunther's kind of the aberration in that. 375 00:13:26,760 --> 00:13:30,800 If this spins into a four-way with, 376 00:13:30,800 --> 00:13:34,040 you know, Gunther, Sammy, Kevin and Punk at some point, 377 00:13:34,040 --> 00:13:36,240 that might be a path, you got Finn Bellar picture. 378 00:13:36,240 --> 00:13:40,720 To me, it does like a placeholder for something else, 379 00:13:40,720 --> 00:13:43,480 coming out of Somerslam heading into survivor series. 380 00:13:43,480 --> 00:13:46,160 - And then which direction is more compelling to you? 381 00:13:46,160 --> 00:13:48,240 I think you've already shared this answer. 382 00:13:48,240 --> 00:13:50,760 Punk KO with Cody Orren Branching Off, 383 00:13:50,760 --> 00:13:53,720 or Roman LA Knight with the Bloodline Stoleuming. 384 00:13:53,720 --> 00:13:59,120 - I mean, for me, and this is once again kind of emotional, 385 00:13:59,120 --> 00:14:00,160 it's Punk and KO. 386 00:14:00,160 --> 00:14:05,160 Like this is kind of, we never got Punk and Stone Cold. 387 00:14:05,160 --> 00:14:07,320 You know, remember they had teased it years ago 388 00:14:07,320 --> 00:14:09,040 and then never happened. 389 00:14:09,040 --> 00:14:11,720 This to me from a fandom standpoint 390 00:14:11,720 --> 00:14:16,720 of the 2000 generation is kind of like my dream match scenario 391 00:14:16,760 --> 00:14:18,560 to watching these two guys go at it. 392 00:14:18,560 --> 00:14:23,560 The Roman LA Knight stuff is interesting because, 393 00:14:23,560 --> 00:14:26,640 I don't know about you, we've had so many false starts 394 00:14:26,640 --> 00:14:30,560 with LA Knight, I just don't see them pulling the trigger now. 395 00:14:30,560 --> 00:14:32,440 But the stuff with KO and Punk, 396 00:14:32,440 --> 00:14:35,120 and then you have the Sammy, the Finn, the Gunther, 397 00:14:35,120 --> 00:14:38,880 like the top of that Smackdown card right now 398 00:14:38,880 --> 00:14:40,920 is really, really loaded 399 00:14:40,920 --> 00:14:42,240 and they have a lot of different directions 400 00:14:42,240 --> 00:14:43,760 they can go with it. 401 00:14:43,760 --> 00:14:46,600 - Yeah, it's an interesting time. 402 00:14:46,600 --> 00:14:50,080 I think this will be bleeding into some of the other stuff 403 00:14:50,080 --> 00:14:52,440 that we'll talk about here, but I do, you know, 404 00:14:52,440 --> 00:14:54,880 you've kind of already acknowledged 405 00:14:54,880 --> 00:14:56,560 that the creative direction with the WWE 406 00:14:56,560 --> 00:15:00,080 seems pretty clean, cut, and interesting. 407 00:15:00,080 --> 00:15:03,320 There, you've got a looming top of the card 408 00:15:03,320 --> 00:15:04,720 that could be really good. 409 00:15:04,720 --> 00:15:07,680 And then there's some stuff underneath that's bubbling 410 00:15:07,680 --> 00:15:08,920 with the younger stars 411 00:15:08,920 --> 00:15:12,160 and they're making it focal that has me excited as well. 412 00:15:12,160 --> 00:15:15,320 This could be a pretty strong fall into early winter 413 00:15:15,320 --> 00:15:18,400 heading into WrestleMania 43 season before you know, 414 00:15:18,400 --> 00:15:20,520 because here we are in August, 415 00:15:20,520 --> 00:15:22,320 it's time that they start to think about these things. 416 00:15:22,320 --> 00:15:27,320 They basically got one more true quarter left of WWE, 417 00:15:27,320 --> 00:15:29,320 the Survivor Series build, 418 00:15:29,320 --> 00:15:31,560 and then one Survivor Series has passed, 419 00:15:31,560 --> 00:15:33,280 then it's full steam head towards the rumble 420 00:15:33,280 --> 00:15:36,080 and WrestleMania where, you know, 421 00:15:36,080 --> 00:15:37,120 seats are gonna be planted. 422 00:15:37,120 --> 00:15:39,360 So really intriguing times coming out of Summer's Lama, 423 00:15:39,360 --> 00:15:40,640 it's pretty exciting. 424 00:15:41,600 --> 00:15:43,600 Other news and notes here, Dr. Tray W. 548 00:21:02,120 --> 00:21:02,640 >> Yes. 549 00:21:03,160 --> 00:21:05,120 >> And then- 550 00:21:05,120 --> 00:21:06,640 >> Oba lost a Tony D. 551 00:21:06,640 --> 00:21:11,040 >> But then, so because Braun's a two time NXT champion as well. 552 00:21:11,040 --> 00:21:13,720 So he lost to Carmelo the first time. 553 00:21:13,720 --> 00:21:17,000 He got it back and then dropped it again before he came to the main roster by camera, 554 00:21:17,000 --> 00:21:17,920 but who he dropped it to. 555 00:21:17,920 --> 00:21:19,080 >> Yeah, I don't see anything. 556 00:21:19,080 --> 00:21:21,720 Yeah, I could have sworn that there was a possibility that, but 557 00:21:21,720 --> 00:21:24,560 memory is as good as it used to be as we've discussed. 558 00:21:24,560 --> 00:21:28,600 It's interesting that you brought up that you're more interested than Jacob Fattu. 559 00:21:28,600 --> 00:21:32,880 And Jacob Fattu over Braun Breaker because I think if we asked you December, January, 560 00:21:32,880 --> 00:21:35,120 I think the answer, at least for me, would have been Braun. 561 00:21:35,120 --> 00:21:37,320 And I haven't seen the season yet. 562 00:21:37,320 --> 00:21:42,000 WWE Unreal, the stuff that I've read basically said that the plan was for 563 00:21:42,000 --> 00:21:44,480 there was a plan that was thrown out there, I should say, for 564 00:21:44,480 --> 00:21:48,800 Braun Breaker to win the Royal Rumble and win the World Heavyweight Championship. 565 00:21:48,800 --> 00:21:51,080 Like that is what they wanted to push. 566 00:21:51,080 --> 00:21:52,840 And it didn't happen. 567 00:21:52,840 --> 00:21:56,800 He didn't win the Rumble, got injured shortly thereafter as you had pointed out. 568 00:21:56,800 --> 00:22:00,800 Missed the match with Seth Rollins returning from injury for WrestleMania. 569 00:22:00,800 --> 00:22:02,440 That's why they went Seth and Gunther. 570 00:22:02,440 --> 00:22:04,720 And then once he got into the Seth Rollins feud, I mean, 571 00:22:04,720 --> 00:22:09,200 the last match the blowoff was Seth defeating Braun Breaker clean in the steel cage. 572 00:22:09,200 --> 00:22:11,160 Seth goes off to the World Championship. 573 00:22:11,160 --> 00:22:14,040 Braun is just kind of like fuddling around with the vision, 574 00:22:14,040 --> 00:22:18,560 which is just completely weak due to injuries and is now like a tight team champion with awesome theory. 575 00:22:18,560 --> 00:22:24,280 And but this could be the this could be the few that that launches Braun Breaker up there. 576 00:22:24,280 --> 00:22:29,240 I think the long-term investment for Braun Breaker is worth the investment. 577 00:22:29,240 --> 00:22:34,720 So I'm looking at this feud of is the timing right like we're as excited as we are right now. 578 00:22:34,720 --> 00:22:38,080 Like if we had Oben now and Braun from January, I think we'd be like, 579 00:22:38,080 --> 00:22:40,520 oh shit, this is like a future WrestleMania main event. 580 00:22:40,520 --> 00:22:46,000 And I still think it is, but this could be a few that is used to catapult and 581 00:22:46,000 --> 00:22:49,120 launch Braun Breaker back to where I believe he should be. 582 00:22:50,160 --> 00:22:55,560 weren't they the first two scheduled to be in the rumble didn't Oba come out first and then Braun came out second, 583 00:22:55,560 --> 00:22:56,760 they got attacked. 584 00:22:56,760 --> 00:22:57,600 You're right about that. 585 00:22:57,600 --> 00:23:01,240 Yeah. So Braun got attacked by the mass man and then Oba eliminated him. 586 00:23:01,240 --> 00:23:01,840 Yep. 587 00:23:01,840 --> 00:23:04,400 And the crowd in the crowd, you remember, Oba's in the ring. 588 00:23:04,400 --> 00:23:08,920 Crows and then you hear Braun Breaker's music and the crowd got super excited for it. 589 00:23:08,920 --> 00:23:14,440 Like the crowd got up and you don't really see that for the first two guys in a rumble. 590 00:23:14,440 --> 00:23:19,080 And then they did the injury angle to kind of protect Braun Breaker. 591 00:23:19,080 --> 00:23:26,840 You know, from getting eliminated because that was their way of not having him get eliminated in the rumble was taking him out before it started. 592 00:23:26,840 --> 00:23:33,920 So it's something they've teased and something they've alluded to is just I do feel like, and it's no fault. 593 00:23:33,920 --> 00:23:35,200 I don't outside the injury. 594 00:23:35,200 --> 00:23:37,920 I don't really blame Braun Breaker for getting injured. 595 00:23:37,920 --> 00:23:38,840 Not just bad luck. 596 00:23:38,840 --> 00:23:41,640 It was just it's just been bad timing. 597 00:23:41,640 --> 00:23:45,120 Now the interesting thing is the Paul Hamen factor in this as well. 598 00:23:45,120 --> 00:23:50,040 We like you saw it on raw or bronze calling him Oba's new best friend and all that stuff. 599 00:23:50,040 --> 00:23:59,040 And we've seen the Hamen kind of distancing the distancing himself from the vision for the last few weeks. 600 00:23:59,040 --> 00:24:05,600 So that is this is this a turn where Paul Hamen real lines with the vision against Oba. 601 00:24:05,600 --> 00:24:08,280 Does Paul eventually go with Oba? 602 00:24:08,280 --> 00:24:14,800 You know, like that that parts interesting, but it does feel like Braun Breaker's lost a little bit of that luster that was on him. 603 00:24:14,800 --> 00:24:19,440 You know earlier this year, but it's not something that he can't regain. 604 00:24:19,440 --> 00:24:22,680 It's just we're all waiting for him to break out again. 605 00:24:22,680 --> 00:24:27,320 And it's just he's been kind of stuck in that vision mud right now. 606 00:24:27,320 --> 00:24:28,120 Interesting thoughts. 607 00:24:28,120 --> 00:24:29,640 You're on Oba and Braun Breaker. 608 00:24:29,640 --> 00:24:35,760 Feel free to chime in over at the Patreon page and the comment section patreon.com/srtupodcast. 609 00:24:35,760 --> 00:24:42,480 Last thing I want to talk about here looking back at Somersethalam Dr. Trey was the women's division looks completely different after one weekend. 610 00:24:42,480 --> 00:24:47,000 Libertane against EO and one of Saturday's Saturday's best matches. 611 00:24:47,000 --> 00:24:51,760 Only to have Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaakor return on RAW and immediately enter the championship picture. 612 00:24:51,760 --> 00:24:57,400 Chelsea Green finally received her signature championship moment by Altsmaren in the field and winning the Interim WWE Women's Championship, 613 00:24:57,400 --> 00:24:59,840 which was a great book match by the way. 614 00:24:59,840 --> 00:25:04,560 Like it felt like she was going to win and then the Mieschen and beef up come down. 615 00:25:04,560 --> 00:25:05,520 Prevent it from winning. 616 00:25:05,520 --> 00:25:06,800 I'm like, ah, there you go. 617 00:25:06,800 --> 00:25:10,400 And then as you watch it unfold, you're like, oh, they're going to do a little bait and switch and they did. 618 00:25:10,400 --> 00:25:12,120 She climbed the ladder and won it. 619 00:25:12,120 --> 00:25:16,840 The Bella Twins attacked Paige after their loss, but Breeze broke in shoulder scapula. 620 00:25:16,840 --> 00:25:20,720 Now complicates the direction of that story and Nikki's immediate future. 621 00:25:20,720 --> 00:25:22,720 The Bella just cannot catch a break. 622 00:25:22,720 --> 00:25:24,240 One gets her after another. 623 00:25:24,240 --> 00:25:24,960 It's amazing. 624 00:25:24,960 --> 00:25:29,280 I mean, Breeze out basically for the rest of 2026 at this point. 625 00:25:29,280 --> 00:25:32,360 I think it's like a three to six month time frame, she said. 626 00:25:32,360 --> 00:25:35,440 So with that said, Dr. Trey, which program should take priority? 627 00:25:35,440 --> 00:25:44,440 Live Becky Vaakor, Chelsea's Interim title reign or Paige Steakine Revenge against Nikki? 628 00:25:44,440 --> 00:25:49,440 I'm more invested in the live Becky Stephanie stuff. 629 00:25:49,440 --> 00:25:54,760 I mean, we talk about Stephanie Vaakor was the hottest act in wrestling in 2025. 630 00:25:54,760 --> 00:25:58,360 And then because of the injuries, we haven't seen her since WrestleMania. 631 00:25:58,360 --> 00:26:02,480 Becky Lynch in what, 2021? 632 00:26:02,480 --> 00:26:05,480 What was the man, the big thing, the 19th? 633 00:26:05,480 --> 00:26:08,000 It was before the pandemic, yeah. 634 00:26:08,000 --> 00:26:09,920 Like 19, 18, 19. 635 00:26:09,920 --> 00:26:13,280 I mean, arguably the biggest star women's wrestling has produced. 636 00:26:13,280 --> 00:26:17,400 We've never seen anybody attain those heights that she has. 637 00:26:17,400 --> 00:26:22,320 And then you have Liv Morgan, who's kind of become the standard bearer in the women's division in a lot of ways. 638 00:26:22,320 --> 00:26:30,400 So I'm more excited about that one because we saw a little bit of the man come back around Monday night. 639 00:26:30,400 --> 00:26:33,920 You also got Becky Lynch in there and then the live factor. 640 00:26:33,920 --> 00:26:35,400 I was like, I'm really excited. 641 00:26:35,400 --> 00:26:39,520 And then plus, you never know when the AJ Lee side will pop back up into this as well. 642 00:26:39,520 --> 00:26:45,120 So I mean, that's a really solid top four of that division. 643 00:26:45,120 --> 00:26:49,560 And that's not even counting EO who, at any point, could cycle back up. 644 00:26:49,560 --> 00:26:52,480 You still got the new version of Lyra Valquiri. 645 00:26:52,480 --> 00:26:57,440 So there's a lot of intriguing entry in that top of that raw division, but 646 00:26:57,440 --> 00:27:05,880 Liv, Stephanie and Becky, I think that's, I don't want to say past, present and future of the division because none of them are really past their brine. 647 00:27:05,880 --> 00:27:11,800 But it's kind of is the evolution of the top of that card over the last eight years. 648 00:27:11,800 --> 00:27:16,760 If anyone can use a little bit of a bump right now, I think it's Liv Morgan. 649 00:27:16,760 --> 00:27:20,520 Liv did not defend the title for 100 days for whatever reason, creative. 650 00:27:20,520 --> 00:27:21,520 Was she hurt? 651 00:27:21,520 --> 00:27:24,480 I have no idea where they weighed in on 70.cor. 652 00:27:24,480 --> 00:27:30,960 Like I'm a huge live Morgan fan. I think she is in line to be in consideration for the female wrestler of the year. 653 00:27:30,960 --> 00:27:35,640 And she needs a good solid feud and match that is submits that. 654 00:27:35,640 --> 00:27:38,200 I mean, and she really, she said some good moments. 655 00:27:38,200 --> 00:27:44,040 But when you look at some matches up until the EO sky stuff on Saturday, it's been a little bit few and far between. 656 00:27:44,040 --> 00:27:46,960 And that feud with her and EO, like it had a ton of potential. 657 00:27:46,960 --> 00:27:48,880 And they, I felt like they did nothing with it. 658 00:27:48,880 --> 00:27:50,160 So I'm with the doctor. 659 00:27:50,160 --> 00:27:56,960 I think the Liv Becky Vakor program needs to take priority because that's an exciting program on paper. 660 00:27:56,960 --> 00:28:03,560 If everybody could be involved and be in there, I think that's going to be a ton of fun because those are some of the top female wrestlers in the world today. 661 00:28:03,560 --> 00:28:04,360 So I agree with you. 662 00:28:04,360 --> 00:28:06,760 Liv Becky Vakor. 663 00:28:06,760 --> 00:28:15,360 Again, feel free to chime in over at the comment section on this page of where the podcast is over at patreon.com/srtupodcast. 664 00:28:15,360 --> 00:28:20,160 That's obviously one of the big pieces of news that came out here. This is the second time that she was talking about it. 665 00:28:20,160 --> 00:28:22,560 It's like Brett Farve is back in the NFL. 666 00:28:22,560 --> 00:28:29,360 Brock Lesnar's retirement did Summerslam deliver the right final chapter for the beast. 667 00:28:29,360 --> 00:28:35,560 Brock officially announces retirement on the pack Mac if he show confirming that his element of assault loss to Oba Femme was his final match. 668 00:28:35,560 --> 00:28:42,160 The match itself was underwhelming as we've discussed, but Brock lost cleanly embraced Oba and declared him the future. 669 00:28:42,160 --> 00:28:46,960 Did accomplishing the larger story matter more than delivering a classic match? 670 00:28:46,960 --> 00:28:52,960 Yeah, I mean, for the most part, most guys is last match. 671 00:28:52,960 --> 00:28:58,960 I mean, outside of the, you know, John C, the top guys, the matches are usually not that great. 672 00:28:58,960 --> 00:29:04,760 You know, you can argue, I mean, if you count Shawn Michaels, Rick Flair has Rick Flair's last match. 673 00:29:04,760 --> 00:29:05,760 Yeah, there's a motion. 674 00:29:05,760 --> 00:29:14,960 Shawn Michaels, WrestleMania 26, you know, there are moments where the match is fantastic and lives up to the expectation of what a final match would be. 675 00:29:14,960 --> 00:29:25,960 But for most part, it's a little bit, you know, kind of the moment of the passing of the torch, I think defines the Brock Lesnar that we've seen. 676 00:29:25,960 --> 00:29:29,160 Kind of progress over the years. 677 00:29:29,160 --> 00:29:34,360 Like, I don't think if you had told me back in was a twem, I'm, you're the history, you're more the historian. 678 00:29:34,360 --> 00:29:37,760 Brock came back in what 2007? 679 00:29:37,760 --> 00:29:43,160 He came back in 2000 and let me thank you at WrestleMania 28. 680 00:29:43,160 --> 00:29:45,360 So that was 2011. 681 00:29:45,360 --> 00:29:46,360 So for 12. 682 00:29:46,360 --> 00:29:54,760 Okay, so if you told me, yeah, if you told me in 2011 with that opening night with him and John Cena and the brawl and all that stuff, 683 00:29:54,760 --> 00:30:02,560 that we would get a Brock Lesnar who is concerned about the future of professional wrestling as he traversed the end of his career. 684 00:30:02,560 --> 00:30:04,360 I would have said you're out of your damn mind. 685 00:30:04,360 --> 00:30:06,560 Brock was just, you know, in and for the money. 686 00:30:06,560 --> 00:30:14,560 But I really think over the last couple of years, we've seen a Brock Lesnar who started thinking more about the business and less about himself. 687 00:30:14,560 --> 00:30:30,560 And I think that moment at Hell in the Cell or the post Hell in the Cell match, the Summer Slam, kind of defines who this new, who this last incarnation of Brock Lesnar was where he understood what his stature in wrestling meant. 688 00:30:30,560 --> 00:30:37,960 And how much it meant to help elevate those people in those feuds with him and make the most of those moments. 689 00:30:37,960 --> 00:30:42,560 I think that's kind of a, this is not the Brock Lesnar that wrestled Dean Ambrose. 690 00:30:42,560 --> 00:30:43,560 No. 691 00:30:43,560 --> 00:30:58,560 There's a different Brock Lesnar that we've seen over the last three, four years kind of help progress these guys along, move them up the ladder and give, you know, whether it's Cody or, you know, Oba now that stamp of approval that, hey, this is, 692 00:30:58,560 --> 00:31:00,960 it's almost like the Undertaker stamp like this is one of my guys. 693 00:31:00,960 --> 00:31:02,560 I believe in this guy. 694 00:31:02,560 --> 00:31:06,060 I think he's the right way to go and good for the business. 695 00:31:06,060 --> 00:31:15,560 But even, you know, Brock Lesnar Roman Reigns, a couple years ago, Summer Slam, you know, with the, the Forklift spot, you know, like the, the bulldozer spot, whatever that would, 696 00:31:15,560 --> 00:31:16,560 bulldozer spot. 697 00:31:16,560 --> 00:31:24,560 Like that's a Brock that really had a lot of fun the last few years and really enjoyed working with guys and putting that stamp on him. 698 00:31:24,560 --> 00:31:27,560 That's not the same Brock we saw in 2011 and 2012. 699 00:31:27,560 --> 00:31:37,560 Where does Brock rank among wrestling's great subtractions after becoming a 10 time world champion winning two Royal Rumbles and ending the Undertaker's wrestle Mania Strick? 700 00:31:37,560 --> 00:31:39,560 Top 15. 701 00:31:39,560 --> 00:31:42,560 Yeah, I think I don't know if I've put him in top 10. 702 00:31:42,560 --> 00:31:43,560 No, I don't think so. 703 00:31:43,560 --> 00:31:48,560 He's in that, he's in that 11 to 14 range, I would think. 704 00:31:48,560 --> 00:31:58,560 And I think a lot of the, like there are moments of Brock Lesnar's career where I'm like, that guy was having fun. Boombox Brock, you know, that, that was a fun time for Brock. 705 00:31:58,560 --> 00:32:11,560 Like, but I think what, and even going back to the early run in the early 2000s, you know, the Kurt Angle Brock Lesnar feud, I just saw a clip of when he made a Kurt Angle spit milk all over some pretty girl. 706 00:32:11,560 --> 00:32:24,560 Yeah, like there are moments in there where you're like, man, this guy could really be truly the next big mega star and redefine professional wrestling because there's never been an athlete like Brock Lesnar in professional wrestling. 707 00:32:24,560 --> 00:32:38,560 But the gap in between between when he went to the Vikings, by the way, I may be the comment last week that I really hope they have some Minnesota Viking Brock Lesnar jerseys and I saw them at SummerSlam. 708 00:32:38,560 --> 00:32:44,560 So thank you guys for listening to show and figure out a way to monetize my thoughts and not cut me in on it. 709 00:32:44,560 --> 00:32:59,560 But that gap of wrestling UFC lessened maybe his impact on this, but if he had wrestled all the way through there, I mean, he probably would have been top five, top eight, you know, but that gap does lessen it. 710 00:32:59,560 --> 00:33:10,560 But I don't know if there's ever been somebody that people really thought it was real when Brock Lesnar was doing it more so than Brock Lesnar. 711 00:33:10,560 --> 00:33:15,560 My favorite Brock Lesnar era was 2002 to 2004 Brock when he left. 712 00:33:15,560 --> 00:33:20,560 That was the bet. I think that was the best period of time. 713 00:33:20,560 --> 00:33:31,560 And I think if he stuck with professional wrestling during that same time frame, he is an all time great. Maybe I think we look at him top 15 top 20 if he stuck around maybe he's top 10 top five. 714 00:33:31,560 --> 00:33:37,560 And I think it really matters to him what he did outside of professional wrestling, trying out in the NFL, being on the practice squad. 715 00:33:37,560 --> 00:33:46,560 Not you know, it didn't work, but like that's insane for somebody who had not played in the NFL played football in like five, six, seven, eight years, whatever it was. 716 00:33:46,560 --> 00:33:52,560 And then him doing what he did, he had him play, yeah, say he on places junior high. Yeah, for the biking. 717 00:33:52,560 --> 00:34:05,560 And then for him to go into the UFC as somebody that had no other may background and when the UFC heavyweight championship that run in UFC was like insane and fun and entertaining and historic. 718 00:34:05,560 --> 00:34:14,560 When he returned to WWE, there was I feel like there's a lot of downs at times and there were certainly the ups. It was him being the champ. 719 00:34:14,560 --> 00:34:22,560 I did not like Brock as champion him going away. I think that really was a bad period of time and they were establishing stars him winning the match of wrestling. 720 00:34:22,560 --> 00:34:34,560 So many 30 was like insane and meant in the streak. You know, you point out when he did baby face Brock, that was a lot of fun in the last couple years when he's been back has been good as well. 721 00:34:34,560 --> 00:34:41,560 But I just look back at that 2002 to 2004 error Brock Lesnar and I there's a lot of good stuff that he did during that time frame. 722 00:34:41,560 --> 00:34:49,560 I'm ever going to a Smackdown show at the Hartford Civic Center and it was coming out of Somersetham, 2002 when he lost to the big show. 723 00:34:49,560 --> 00:34:57,560 And I watched him F5 the big show onto like an announce table. I remember I could see it still today. 724 00:34:57,560 --> 00:35:07,560 And then when he came back in 11 or 12, he came back in 2012 by the way, I screw that up my apologies. I'll see myself out. 725 00:35:07,560 --> 00:35:15,560 I made a point to go when he was coming to MSG because he did not do live events when they did that special on the WWE network like live at Madison Square Garden. 726 00:35:15,560 --> 00:35:23,560 I was there and he took on the big show. I was at money in the bank at the Hartford Civic Center again when he won money the bank and wasn't supposed to be the match. 727 00:35:23,560 --> 00:35:29,560 And people complained about it afterwards, but I was in the arena and when his music hit the place went absolutely insane. 728 00:35:29,560 --> 00:35:32,560 He's an all-time great for sure. 729 00:35:32,560 --> 00:35:42,560 Again, there were certainly some downs that Second Run had some downs when he'd be, you know, just kind of it felt like he was just in it for the money. 730 00:35:42,560 --> 00:35:47,560 And then when he was having fun, you were having fun. And again, I love that first time he was in WWE. 731 00:35:47,560 --> 00:35:56,560 So yeah, an all-time great Dr. Trey. It already feels like a WWE Hall of Fame induction is inevitable. 732 00:35:56,560 --> 00:36:04,560 How quickly do we think it should happen? And is there anyone outside of Paul Heyman that should be inducting him? 733 00:36:04,560 --> 00:36:08,560 I mean, to me, the only other person would be Kurt Angle. 734 00:36:08,560 --> 00:36:15,560 But that's if Paul's inducting somebody else, if Paul has to pull, otherwise it has to be Paul Heyman. 735 00:36:15,560 --> 00:36:27,560 The only other backup to me would be Kurt Angle because that rivalry in 2003, 2002, what was it? It was a WrestleMania 22? 736 00:36:27,560 --> 00:36:32,560 Did one when he broke his neck? Or did the shooting star press? 737 00:36:32,560 --> 00:36:34,560 Oh, that was 19 in the match with the Angle. 738 00:36:34,560 --> 00:36:35,560 19. 739 00:36:35,560 --> 00:36:43,560 Yeah. So, I mean, really, that's the same. I think the history, because that was always the comparison. Angle and Brock. 740 00:36:43,560 --> 00:36:55,560 So that's the only other logical choice to induct him. My question is, do you do a Hall of Fame induction in Saudi Arabia for Brock Lesnar or do you wait till you come back? 741 00:36:55,560 --> 00:36:59,560 I don't think he gives a shit. Brock, I don't think he gives a shit. 742 00:36:59,560 --> 00:37:11,560 I mean, do they pay the guys to come to come? If Brock's got to leave Manitoba to go to Saudi Arabia just to get inducted into Hall of Fame, 743 00:37:11,560 --> 00:37:22,560 I think you got to pay him still pretty good to come do that. It might be a more cost-effective maneuver to wait a year and do it when you're backstage side. 744 00:37:22,560 --> 00:37:32,560 It may be. I feel like they're going to go with that. Or maybe he'll be in New York City for the NXT Interpolation. They do the Hall of Fame there. Who knows what they're going to do. 745 00:37:32,560 --> 00:37:42,560 So we go on all-time great Brock Lesnar hanging him up for the second time this year and there's still reports out there today that basically if Brock wants to come, there was the feeling that Brock is not completely done. 746 00:37:42,560 --> 00:37:52,560 Whether that be another match or the Hall of Fame induction, we'll say. He's earned it and he's earned a lot of money during this time. 747 00:37:52,560 --> 00:38:09,560 Speaking to Dean Ambrose, Dr. Trius, switching gears to AEW, there was an interesting interview from Daniel Garcia. He had an interview with Fightful where he said John's Moxley saved AEW after AEW lost its fans some goodwill with fans. 748 00:38:09,560 --> 00:38:19,560 Garcia acknowledged that AEW reached a period where it lost significance a goodwill and no longer felt like the true alternative to WWE that fans had originally supported. 749 00:38:19,560 --> 00:38:29,560 Garcia credited Moxley with recognizing the problem taking control and helping turn the company around, although Garcia declined to share the complete story behind what Moxley told him. 750 00:38:29,560 --> 00:38:39,560 So as we look at this Dr. Tri, do we look at this and say yes, John Moxley did save AEW and helped regain that goodwill. 751 00:38:39,560 --> 00:38:52,560 As has AEW and your mind truly recovered, its lost goodwill merely stabilize its audience or still fail to address the creative consistency that caused fans to disconnect in the first place. 752 00:38:52,560 --> 00:39:07,560 I don't know where the credit lies. I don't know if I can go, John Moxley saved AEW. I do think in United talk about a show, when Cody left, the company felt like it had no direction. 753 00:39:07,560 --> 00:39:26,560 It was a shot that here's where your founding members, founding leaders of this company choosing the competition and leaving an executive VP role whether it was on paper or not to just go be one of the guys at your competitor. 754 00:39:26,560 --> 00:39:35,560 We saw it in production, we saw it in the storylines, we saw it in the matches that AEW felt rudderless. 755 00:39:35,560 --> 00:39:49,560 And there was, I'm going to use this term because his name is a part of it, there was a paradigm shift, you know, like two years ago in AEW where it kind of went like, oh wow, they're kind of getting the ship right at it does make more sense. 756 00:39:49,560 --> 00:40:01,560 I don't know if, since I don't know the inner working of that part, if I want to give all the credit to John Moxley, but it does feel like when the death writer storylines started and he became champion, we didn't see the title for a while. 757 00:40:01,560 --> 00:40:10,560 But it did kind of course correct the brand into storyline driven moment driven. 758 00:40:10,560 --> 00:40:17,560 Yeah, we have great matches, but now there is a direction and a focus in the company. 759 00:40:17,560 --> 00:40:28,560 And I know they get a lot of crap for that thing for you over the death writer storyline dragging on maybe longer than they intended, but it did give the company focus. 760 00:40:28,560 --> 00:40:53,560 And if that was Moxley's idea and he implemented it and then kind of helped produce and changed the course of the show, then he does the drivel out credit for it because two years ago you and I were wondering, I mean, that's why we don't cut that timeline is why we don't cover AW pay per views as indefinitely as we used to because the show got really, really bad. 761 00:40:53,560 --> 00:41:06,560 I feel like now it's a much better product. I don't know if they've regained new view or gaining new viewers, but they have right of the ship and it does feel like a much more stable brand to be a fan of right now. 762 00:41:06,560 --> 00:41:15,560 Yeah, you know, I do credit Moxley. I think for helping save AW during the time frame about I would say two years ago, but it's not just him. 763 00:41:15,560 --> 00:41:37,560 I think he is a well known good leader behind the scenes. The death writer storyline when he was champion, I did not enjoy did not enjoy it at all I call the death ratings. I mean, it was a boring is all hell and Moxley was like making incoherent nonsense with his promos that let's like, what the fuck is he talking about? 764 00:41:37,560 --> 00:41:47,560 But now I love continental classic John Moxley. There's a little bit more depth to what's going on with John Moxley as a continental champion or the stuff that he's been doing with Will Osprey. 765 00:41:47,560 --> 00:41:55,560 I think he played a big role in it. I think he played a big role behind the scenes rallying the troops, but you cannot sit there and dismiss what's worth struggling did. 766 00:41:55,560 --> 00:42:05,560 What hangman page did? What Will Osprey is done? What Kenny Omega is done? What Willow Knight and Gail? Chris Stattlander is done. 767 00:42:05,560 --> 00:42:17,560 It's just not it's not them what FTR Copen Cage young bucks have done as well. Did do I think that Moxley was the one care in the torch being like, hey, we got a rally and turning around. Absolutely. 768 00:42:17,560 --> 00:42:30,560 It was a really bad time for AW. I felt like they were like, we were talking about the show like are we ever kind of talk about them anymore. I thought we're going to become a solo WWE show again. Like I was done watching them. 769 00:42:30,560 --> 00:42:41,560 You watch Dynamite. Dynamite is a must see that wrestling show right now. Collision. Collision is where I was watching Grand Slam Mexico on Wednesday night. 770 00:42:41,560 --> 00:42:49,560 Last night I was like, why are they booking collision like they are dynamite because WWE doesn't book raw and then half-ass books Smackdown. 771 00:42:49,560 --> 00:42:59,560 And what I mean by that and I'm sure there's creative jokes that you could say, I'm not saying that you tune into Smackdown and Cody Rhodes is facing some sort of job or young developmental talent. 772 00:42:59,560 --> 00:43:11,560 And he's still taking on Damien Priest, whatever, right? Like recognizable names. They make sure that their Raw's at Smackdowns are A-shows. That's where a WWE needs to change. Dynamite is an A-plus-plus show. 773 00:43:11,560 --> 00:43:20,560 Maybe the best wrestling show on television right now. Collision is maybe the worst, like legitimately the worst. I mean it has good moments. 774 00:43:20,560 --> 00:43:34,560 But it's a collisionist Sunday night heat. It's rampage again. I remember rampage was terrible towards the end. I mean it was just like this is a throwaway show. Like what are we doing? They're just taking up time on the turn of networks. 775 00:43:34,560 --> 00:43:46,560 So if they were able to fix that, I think A-W's in business that can be a really really stronger alternative to WWE. But with that said, I think what we see, I do think Mox is a play to big role into a Dark Trade. 776 00:43:46,560 --> 00:44:02,560 How much of a role we'll never know. We're not behind the scenes. It just felt like Moxley was one of the true leaders of A-W during that time. And it's just nice to see an interview where he does get his flowers because you do hear a lot of people say many positive things about Joe Moxley behind the scenes. 777 00:44:02,560 --> 00:44:15,560 I mean if he wasn't so such a positive influence in the wrestling community, would they have done that spot at Summerslam with the Reigns and Rollins and then mentioned Dean Ambrose on commentary. 778 00:44:15,560 --> 00:44:16,560 Yeah. 779 00:44:16,560 --> 00:44:27,560 Like you have to be like at least well respected within the industry to get semi-shouted out on your competitors number two show of the year in the main event match. 780 00:44:27,560 --> 00:44:43,560 Right? It's kind of the right there. I don't know. Ten years from now, 15 years from now we may get the full story on this. But it felt like I said, it felt like when Cody left, there was no leader. 781 00:44:43,560 --> 00:44:55,560 That it was the inmates running the asylum. And Tony Khan, look, for all the knocks we give on Tony Khan, we've given Tony Khan over the last six years. Tony Khan stepped up and took control of his company. 782 00:44:55,560 --> 00:45:08,560 And trusted the right people around him whether it was Moxley, whether it was Brian Danielson having a hand in some of the creative and some of the producing whether you know Jericho is kind of out of the picture of that point as well. 783 00:45:08,560 --> 00:45:16,560 You kind of felt like there was a shift and it matches like are there still flippy Matt flippy moments in matches. Absolutely. 784 00:45:16,560 --> 00:45:32,560 You know that's kind of like AW staying on brand, but it felt like there was a concerted voice to kind of give the shows direction again and purpose. And I think that was lacking from that time Cody left about that three year window in the middle there. 785 00:45:32,560 --> 00:45:36,560 It felt like that direction was lacking and somebody reestablished it. 786 00:45:36,560 --> 00:45:48,560 Yeah, they certainly did and AW it's nice to see them back in there really enjoying their show. And again, it's like if they were just doing dynamite like they are doing collision, it could be completely different sort of I truly feel like. 787 00:45:48,560 --> 00:45:56,560 Okay, with that said, Dr. Dre, let's close up shop on this week's edition of SRT you and get a couple plugs and sponsors out of the way. 788 00:45:56,560 --> 00:46:05,560 You could download the show at patreon.com/srtupodcast and it's still worth a show feed on Apple Spotify or wherever you download this podcast don't forget to rate and subscribe. 789 00:46:05,560 --> 00:46:11,560 You could follow us individually on X for myself at SRT you Jeff and for Dr. Dre Franklin at the Dr. Dre. 790 00:46:11,560 --> 00:46:19,560 And of course don't forget the follow show on X at SRT you podcast with that being said what is going on the wonderful world of Dr. Dre Franklin this week. 791 00:46:19,560 --> 00:46:37,560 Well, like Jeff said you can follow me on X at the Dr. Dre you can find me on Facebook and Instagram Dr. Dre Franklin be sure when you're on Facebook check out Rockets and Championship Wrestling which is at a huge show this past Saturday next show coming up August 15th. 792 00:46:37,560 --> 00:46:59,560 Also go check out youtube.com/rocketsidichapishabeshoe for all the past episodes you can go on there and see the entire history of Rockets and Championship Wrestling as August in August in this month will actually be the 10th in of the official 10th year since the first wrestling con way back when. 793 00:46:59,560 --> 00:47:15,560 Yeah, so just crazy how time flies we were talking about it the show their day was like I was wearing a t-shirt from when I first got into wrestling and I'm like there's not a single person in this locker who knows what this shows in reference to that's how long this show's been going on now. 794 00:47:15,560 --> 00:47:22,560 But get out there and support your own local impending wrestling shows.
