Speaker 1: Palmire, Nelson Figuero, and Nelson Vivro. What's like to be
• 0:03
Speaker 1: at this event with them? He'll be players trussed to
• 0:04
Speaker 1: Player Association today, grove it back to the community. Yeah,
• 0:08
Speaker 1: this is everything you dream of, right. You have an
• 0:10
Speaker 1: opportunity to represent Brooklyn, New York and play on the
• 0:14
Speaker 1: biggest of stages, and then to come back and see
• 0:16
Speaker 1: these kids who were just you know, looking for an opportunity,
• 0:19
Speaker 1: get to learn a little something from Major League and
• 0:21
Speaker 1: former Majorague players like myself, and this is home for me.
• 0:24
Speaker 1: I'm born and raised here on this field. Lincoln High
• 0:27
Speaker 1: School won a city championship my first year in high school,
• 0:31
Speaker 1: so it was really not just a stepping stone, but
• 0:34
Speaker 1: really it was where I got a chance to blast
• 0:36
Speaker 1: off and Drews became a reality. All right, you go
• 0:39
Speaker 1: from the field of the booth. What's that been like?
• 0:40
Speaker 1: On SMI I have to ask you. So those days
• 0:43
Speaker 1: were a lot of fun. I mean, I can't stress enough. Like,
• 0:46
Speaker 1: when you get done playing, you always wondering what's next,
• 0:49
Speaker 1: what's up? Coaching was always something that I loved doing.
• 0:52
Speaker 1: I loved even with the players that I was leaving
• 0:55
Speaker 1: in Triple A at the time. Maybe there's always something
• 0:58
Speaker 1: they could learn from my experience, from my you know,
• 1:00
Speaker 1: all the ups and downs that I had as a player.
• 1:02
Speaker 1: And then you know, I started talking with smy Kirk
• 1:04
Speaker 1: Goudi Junior said that, you know, you have tremendous experience
• 1:07
Speaker 1: and your story is so much different than the average
• 1:10
Speaker 1: guy who comes into this role. So we talked for
• 1:12
Speaker 1: a while, and he thought that I would make a
• 1:14
Speaker 1: really good analyst and do and behold, I have two
• 1:17
Speaker 1: Emmys to prove. He was congratulation, Thank you, all right,
• 1:19
Speaker 1: I've never had you on the show force. So I
• 1:20
Speaker 1: got it's his favorite memory as a MET, Like, what
• 1:22
Speaker 1: say that to him? Well, my favorite memory as a
• 1:24
Speaker 1: met is twofold. One was, of course, I think just
• 1:27
Speaker 1: putting on the met uniform for the first time and
• 1:29
Speaker 1: going down to Sports Tennessee, Florida. I'm actually gonna be
• 1:32
Speaker 1: there tomorrow for Fantasy Camp. So we also so a
• 1:34
Speaker 1: full circle thing, right, just seeing all the names that
• 1:37
Speaker 1: I grew up watching up on the board and aspiring
• 1:40
Speaker 1: to at each level to kind of leave my mark
• 1:42
Speaker 1: as well, and I was able to do that. So
• 1:44
Speaker 1: I think the first time putting on the youth form
• 1:46
Speaker 1: and had to be the complete game shut out at
• 1:48
Speaker 1: City Field. I'm beating Santana to the punch. Uh, you
• 1:52
Speaker 1: know that first year of being in the City Field.
• 1:54
Speaker 1: I was able to do it on the last game,
• 1:58
Speaker 1: something that I've not even you know how Santanic it's
• 1:59
Speaker 1: anything the minute, of course he hadn't know in herself
• 2:01
Speaker 1: he went up to me and yet again, but I
• 2:03
Speaker 1: think those are the two highlights for me as I'm met. Well,
• 2:05
Speaker 1: you're a boul up here, so thanks for coming on
• 2:07
Speaker 1: and being back to the part of the community here.
• 2:09
Speaker 1: Thank you, appreciate Now it's some figure out. Thanks again.
• 2:11
  Speaker 1: You got it.
