- 0:00Speaker 1: So maya, have you always been this size or is
- 0:03Speaker 1: this like a Benjamin Button deal? No, I mean I
- 0:07Speaker 1: just did your picture made you look more life sized?
- 0:11Speaker 2: Well, if that was taken at Legoland, I was afraid
- 0:13Speaker 2: you'd be disappointed in the real me.
- 0:15Speaker 1: What are you kidding me? You're the best thing to
- 0:17Speaker 1: come in in this Boston's cable TV, And unlike cable TV,
- 0:21Speaker 1: I ain't stealing you from the Chinese restaurant across the
- 0:23Speaker 1: street there.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Fourth Finger Discount, dude.
- 0:42Speaker 4: Hey, everybody, welcome to four Finger Discount.
- 0:45Speaker 5: With this week we're going to be reviewing all right,
- 0:46Speaker 5: price your house any teeny my moo, I'm Dano.
- 0:50Speaker 4: I'm guy and Dan I got it right. We had
- 0:52Speaker 4: a little bit of to do before we hit record,
- 0:55Speaker 4: before we started talking about is it any Who's the best?
- 0:59Speaker 4: Hosted any Mini Money Mode?
- 1:02Speaker 5: What did you just say? When you were a kid,
- 1:03Speaker 5: I used to catch her tiger by the toe. We
- 1:05Speaker 5: used to say, probably something pretty racist. Probably I did
- 1:08Speaker 5: grow up in the sevenix. I grew up in the nineties,
- 1:10Speaker 5: and we probably said something pretty racist as well.
- 1:12Speaker 4: It's twenty twenty five and probably still offending someone. Yes,
- 1:15Speaker 4: and given that, you know the nature of this episode.
- 1:17Speaker 4: We may even say something not offensive insensitive exactly just
- 1:22Speaker 4: because well we are who are I must admit going
- 1:25Speaker 4: into this episode, Yeah, I was feeling a bit like
- 1:29Speaker 4: standing Kyle on south By, I think we're just gonna
- 1:31Speaker 4: avoid this one guy, Yeah, and thinking, hmm, Simpsons, should
- 1:34Speaker 4: you really be you know, wading into this area.
- 1:36Speaker 5: They handled it pretty well after they handed it, very
- 1:39Speaker 5: very well. So this is the episode where Moe meets Meyer,
- 1:42Speaker 5: a little person who meets on of the internet, starts
- 1:44Speaker 5: dating her. Things don't go things go well at the start,
- 1:46Speaker 5: and then by the end of it they're no longer together.
- 1:48Speaker 5: She does return in season thirty three and they are
- 1:51Speaker 5: now actually engaged, so long term booking here from the
- 1:55Speaker 5: Simpsons spoiler wanning, I don't know, but yeah, I feel
- 1:58Speaker 5: like we have to bring it up that he does
- 2:00Speaker 5: find her again. But this is season twenty, so it
- 2:02Speaker 5: took thirteen seasons for her to return, which I thought
- 2:06Speaker 5: was probably a little too long. But yeah, so you're
- 2:09Speaker 5: saying here how they handled the little people aspect of this, right,
- 2:12Speaker 5: They put a spotlight in many aspects of what a
- 2:14Speaker 5: little person might go through, and particularly her own insecurities
- 2:18Speaker 5: because she sent a photo that made her look bigger
- 2:20Speaker 5: than what she actually was. It was taking it Lego Land,
- 2:22Speaker 5: which thought was a pretty funny gag to. I think
- 2:24Speaker 5: most of the insecurities in this episode came from Mo right.
- 2:26Speaker 5: He loved Maya for who she was, but he was
- 2:29Speaker 5: insecure about what other people might think of her, when
- 2:32Speaker 5: in reality it was all in his head. I think
- 2:34Speaker 5: that was a very important part of this of this
- 2:36Speaker 5: episode was that no one mocked her for her height
- 2:39Speaker 5: at all, except for Moe in that brief scene when
- 2:41Speaker 5: he proposes to her and whatnot. It wasn't mocking her
- 2:43Speaker 5: for a height. He was making jokes.
- 2:44Speaker 4: I know.
- 2:45Speaker 5: Yeah, so it wasn't mocking her, right, But no one else, Homer, Marge,
- 2:50Speaker 5: no one else even brought it up. It wasn't a
- 2:52Speaker 5: big deal. Even Moe was concerned homes like, can I
- 2:54Speaker 5: ask you a question while the kids were out of
- 2:56Speaker 5: the room. He's like, oh my god, it's going to
- 2:57Speaker 5: be about how we have sex or something. But no,
- 2:59Speaker 5: it was just about nuclear physics and whatnot. Chances put
- 3:02Speaker 5: a slapper ring on that, so she was she was
- 3:04Speaker 5: just portrayed. The focus was for her, just her beauty
- 3:07Speaker 5: and her intelligence. Moe was the only character insecure about
- 3:10Speaker 5: it all. That's what didn't work out in the.
- 3:11Speaker 4: End, that's correct. Yeah, and even he didn't really seem
- 3:13Speaker 4: that insecure about it. Well, to my mind, at least.
- 3:16Speaker 5: It was insecure about her. He was insecure about what
- 3:18Speaker 5: other people perception. Yeah, perception.
- 3:20Speaker 4: But even then it didn't really seem to me that
- 3:24Speaker 4: the episode was putting all that much emphasis on it,
- 3:27Speaker 4: or it just didn't come across that way. I was thinking, Oh,
- 3:29Speaker 4: this is going to be the bulk of this episode
- 3:31Speaker 4: is going to be sort of tugging at the collar,
- 3:33Speaker 4: and how do I explain this? Or you know, what
- 3:35Speaker 4: are people going to think? They only seemed to do
- 3:37Speaker 4: it a little bit. Well.
- 3:39Speaker 5: You had Mo asking or they said, when are we
- 3:41Speaker 5: going to meet herm mow the bar flies Lenny and Carl,
- 3:42Speaker 5: and he goes, oh soon, and he has that vision
- 3:44Speaker 5: of them pushing her around in that cart and seeing
- 3:46Speaker 5: her at the door and oh, no, not going to happen.
- 3:48Speaker 5: And then she asked, when he introduced me to your friends,
- 3:50Speaker 5: what's going on here? He thinks of the Simpsons because
- 3:52Speaker 5: they're the most what's the how did you described them?
- 3:55Speaker 4: Normal? No? No, it's the ones. Yeah, when Moe's having
- 4:01Speaker 4: thoughts like that or imagining things like that, do you
- 4:05Speaker 4: think he was thinking, Oh, they're going to make fun
- 4:07Speaker 4: of me, or they're gonna make fun of Maya, or
- 4:09Speaker 4: they're gonna make fun of both of us. I think
- 4:12Speaker 4: he's gonna make They're gonna make fun of Meyer. Yes,
- 4:14Speaker 4: that's what I was saying, because it seemed like he
- 4:15Speaker 4: wasn't that concerned of what they thought of him.
- 4:18Speaker 5: No, no, no, they wouldn't have laughed at him. He didn't
- 4:20Speaker 5: care about mocking him. It was then mocking her, and
- 4:24Speaker 5: I guess in turn they mocked her. They're mocking him
- 4:27Speaker 5: as a result as well, because he's with her, that's
- 4:29Speaker 5: in his mind, I guess.
- 4:30Speaker 4: So. Yeah, that wasn't really conveyed that strongly for mine.
- 4:33Speaker 5: Okay, fair enough, Yeah, but again, most insecurities he feels. Okay,
- 4:38Speaker 5: in order to make her feel normal, he's gonna drop
- 4:40Speaker 5: his height as well and have the operation make himself
- 4:43Speaker 5: look like her because she's different, when you shouldn't be
- 4:47Speaker 5: worried about that at all. That's why she walks out
- 4:49Speaker 5: in the end, because she wants someone who loves her
- 4:50Speaker 5: for her, just wants someone who loves her it sees
- 4:52Speaker 5: her as beautiful, not short. So Moe is clearly still
- 4:56Speaker 5: focused on the fact that she's short because he wants
- 4:59Speaker 5: to lower his height. I know he's doing it for
- 5:01Speaker 5: what he thinks is the right reasons, but it's not
- 5:03Speaker 5: the right reasons.
- 5:04Speaker 4: No, it's not.
- 5:05Speaker 5: But yeah, and I can see why she would be
- 5:07Speaker 5: bothered by it.
- 5:08Speaker 4: I see where you're coming from. I think I'm operating
- 5:10Speaker 4: from my preconceived notions about the episode in that and
- 5:14Speaker 4: also about Mo in that, you think, Oh, he's generally
- 5:17Speaker 4: going to be kind of insensitive. He's going to be
- 5:19Speaker 4: putting his foot in his mouth. It's just sort of
- 5:21Speaker 4: second nature for him to say the first thing that
- 5:23Speaker 4: comes into his head, however insensitive or hurtful it may be,
- 5:27Speaker 4: or callous or whatever. He didn't really come across that
- 5:30Speaker 4: way in this episode. Mo for the most part, was
- 5:32Speaker 4: misguarded in some ways, but he was generally very very sensitive,
- 5:35Speaker 4: very very romantic, and kind of a good guy. Yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 5: I just think there's a little tone death in that scene.
- 5:41Speaker 5: When he was making all the jokes, it was just
- 5:43Speaker 5: you're not Yeah, he's not doing it because he's trying
- 5:45Speaker 5: to mock her, He's just like, oh, I've been holding
- 5:47Speaker 5: these ones in that we can finally relax and make
- 5:49Speaker 5: these jokes. It's like he's not really feeling thinking about
- 5:52Speaker 5: her feelings when he's doing that.
- 5:54Speaker 4: That's true.
- 5:55Speaker 5: It's not being a I guess you could see it
- 5:56Speaker 5: and say he's maybe he's being a jerk, but he's
- 5:58Speaker 5: not being typical mo jerk though. He's not going out
- 6:01Speaker 5: of his way to be an asshole.
- 6:02Speaker 4: No. No, you with every new relationship, for every relation
- 6:05Speaker 4: that goes a little while, you know, you start to
- 6:07Speaker 4: enter slightly uncharted waters where it's like, Okay, what can
- 6:11Speaker 4: we make fun of each other about?
- 6:13Speaker 5: Can I mock her? Can I mock her cooking? Can
- 6:15Speaker 5: can she mock his weight?
- 6:16Speaker 4: Can I take the piss for these reasons? Okay, not
- 6:19Speaker 4: that reason.
- 6:21Speaker 5: It's like, you know, when you've gone, oh too far? Yeah, oh,
- 6:24Speaker 5: I'll tone to those jokes down.
- 6:26Speaker 4: I had this. I had this the other night, not
- 6:28Speaker 4: with But when I say not with lo, I mean
- 6:31Speaker 4: it was more more about me.
- 6:33Speaker 5: We're watching Okay, how are you people making fun of
- 6:36Speaker 5: no Hair? I'm fine with it, fine with it. Yeah,
- 6:39Speaker 5: I can imagine you'll be fine with it. Yeah, but
- 6:40Speaker 5: some people might be bothered by it.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Oh yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Well I'll tell two stories quickly. Okay,
- 6:46Speaker 4: first of all, I'm sure I've told this one before,
- 6:47Speaker 4: but you know, one of my fondest memories of life
- 6:51Speaker 4: with Lou and life with loose family is, you know,
- 6:54Speaker 4: she and I and her two sons who were watching
- 6:56Speaker 4: Raiders of the Lost Dark one night, and you know
- 6:58Speaker 4: there's a scene rais of the Lost Dark where there's
- 6:59Speaker 4: the the big german mechanic who's Yeah, the fight near
- 7:04Speaker 4: the plane. It ends very badly for the big mechanic. Dude.
- 7:06Speaker 4: That's what they take.
- 7:07Speaker 5: That's what the mick you, it's what they portray in
- 7:09Speaker 5: the Indiana Jones Live Stun show. Yeah, the plane scene.
- 7:13Speaker 4: But that guy appears is a kind of a stocky guy,
- 7:16Speaker 4: bald head, got a beard, Felix Lo's youngest son. Not
- 7:20Speaker 4: he goes, hey, there's you. I'm like, I'll pay that.
- 7:24Speaker 5: I think he may have told that story before. Yeah,
- 7:26Speaker 5: I thought it was kind of sweet that.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Yeah, as as you were saying, you're comfortable around someone
- 7:31Speaker 4: enough to go that's you, or yeah, taking the piss
- 7:34Speaker 4: a little.
- 7:34Speaker 5: Bit, he should take it into positive lights. He's relaxed
- 7:36Speaker 5: and comfortable to make that joke.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Absolutely. Yeah, No, I've always said that. You know, in
- 7:40Speaker 4: the in the time that we've been going out, I
- 7:42Speaker 4: knew that I was sort of in when they started
- 7:45Speaker 4: making fun of me.
- 7:46Speaker 5: That's how we are as Australians, operate very much, so
- 7:48Speaker 5: very much. But the other night, you and I watching
- 7:51Speaker 5: a show on the ABC called The Piano. Okay, are
- 7:53Speaker 5: you aware of this one?
- 7:54Speaker 4: I'm not aware. Now have you heard about this? Have
- 7:56Speaker 4: you seen The Piano? I won't go into the whole
- 7:59Speaker 4: detail about that, but it ends with a concert with
- 8:01Speaker 4: a whole bunch of amateur pianists and they cut to
- 8:06Speaker 4: some dude in the audience who, to mine looked like
- 8:09Speaker 4: a very old gentleman with a big white beard and
- 8:12Speaker 4: a bald head, and lou goes ah, they've cut to you.
- 8:16Speaker 4: You cut me deep, honey. I literally said, fuck, say now.
- 8:24Speaker 4: I wasn't hurt. Hurt, But at the same time, I
- 8:27Speaker 4: was like, I don't think I'm that far down the line,
- 8:29Speaker 4: am I. This is probably a preview of becoming attractions.
- 8:31Speaker 4: And also, you know you may have looked a little
- 8:34Speaker 4: bit like that when you weren't keeping your beard as
- 8:36Speaker 4: tidy as you do. Now I'm still like, honey, please what.
- 8:40Speaker 5: You said it, I got lined up next for you.
- 8:44Speaker 5: But sometimes it's also the mentality of I wouldn't make
- 8:47Speaker 5: the joke if it was true as well, that is great.
- 8:50Speaker 4: I think the thing that hurt the most was I
- 8:51Speaker 4: dropped into the supermarket on the way over to lose
- 8:54Speaker 4: and there's this.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Big after all before this was beforeforehand, and there was this.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Big billboard for Lorial face cream or something like. That
- 9:01Speaker 4: very beautiful model who reminded me of Lou took a
- 9:04Speaker 4: picture of us. Hey, sorry, later's modeling gigs. I'm like,
- 9:08Speaker 4: I'm doubly out compliments. Yeah, like the sweet gentle that
- 9:13Speaker 4: I am, and I get referred to us like bustard
- 9:18Speaker 4: us Santa bad Santa. But at the same time, you're
- 9:24Speaker 4: not going to do that with someone who you're uncomfortable
- 9:27Speaker 4: of course. Yeah, so yeah, I watched this episode prior
- 9:32Speaker 4: to all that happening, but yeah, I mean that's what
- 9:36Speaker 4: it is in a relationship, though. Yeah, you've got you've
- 9:37Speaker 4: sort of got to gauge your moments and gauge your
- 9:40Speaker 4: levels of like, okay, that's not your weak spot. But
- 9:45Speaker 4: it's like do a little do a little poking a prod.
- 9:48Speaker 5: It's also an acknowledgement of that scene where was making
- 9:50Speaker 5: the jokes of the efforts he's putting in with Maya,
- 9:53Speaker 5: because he says, I've been sitting on these ones for
- 9:54Speaker 5: a while, so he's thought ahead of time. Oh no, No,
- 9:57Speaker 5: she wouldn't want these jokes because she he opened the
- 10:00Speaker 5: door with her little woman Joe, He's okay, cool, Yeah,
- 10:03Speaker 5: I've got some jokes as well.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Oh so, yeah, this is not that much of a
- 10:07Speaker 4: sore spot that, you know, we can't acknowledge it and
- 10:10Speaker 4: we can't even make a little fun of it. You know, Hey,
- 10:12Speaker 4: we're all adults here, that.
- 10:13Speaker 5: Kind of And it's not that he was mocking her
- 10:15Speaker 5: height at all. He's comfortable with her, he loves her.
- 10:18Speaker 4: I imagine that if she said, oh, look, you know
- 10:21Speaker 4: you've got this part ugly face or something like that,
- 10:24Speaker 4: or found some aspect about him to he'd be annoyed.
- 10:28Speaker 4: You think, I reckon? You would think. It depends on
- 10:31Speaker 4: the context, I guess, and the level of insult. Yeah.
- 10:34Speaker 5: I think overall though they handled it very very well.
- 10:37Speaker 5: I do think I ever watched this episode. I remember
- 10:39Speaker 5: seeing the primo for it and went, I ain't touched
- 10:41Speaker 5: in that one because we've seen how the Simpsons handle things,
- 10:44Speaker 5: like they're still making homophobic gags in two thousand and nineties,
- 10:47Speaker 5: going ah, this is not going to end well. But no,
- 10:49Speaker 5: I think considering this was what sixteen years ago, they
- 10:52Speaker 5: did a good job. It's actually a similar story. It
- 10:55Speaker 5: isn't It isn't. So we had the story of it's
- 10:57Speaker 5: Dumbbell and damone. I think it's season nine episode where
- 11:00Speaker 5: Mode dates Renee, which is voiced by Helen Hunt.
- 11:04Speaker 4: That's right. Yeah, but in that one there.
- 11:06Speaker 5: He is constantly trying to keep up with her, and oh,
- 11:09Speaker 5: she's gotta think I'm rich, she's got to think I'm
- 11:10Speaker 5: a great, great partner, blah blah blah. This one here,
- 11:12Speaker 5: it's more he's focused on the insecurities of her that
- 11:15Speaker 5: in the first one, she's just this beautiful woman in
- 11:18Speaker 5: his eyes. He's like, I've got to keep up. I've gotta,
- 11:20Speaker 5: you know, keep She.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Is a beautiful woman, but also out of the out
- 11:25Speaker 4: of the ordinary.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Yeah, what problic perception is or out of the ordinary.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:29Speaker 5: We also get the b plot here of Homer started
- 11:33Speaker 5: off really weak. I went, we had a really great
- 11:35Speaker 5: home last week. Now we've got Homer forgetting his daughter's
- 11:37Speaker 5: name and not want to spend time with her. And
- 11:40Speaker 5: I think there's one part where he says, you set
- 11:42Speaker 5: your expectations way too high and possibly high, and I'm like, ah, whatever.
- 11:46Speaker 5: I think by the end of it it was fine.
- 11:47Speaker 5: It was just a simple be plot to sort of
- 11:49Speaker 5: keep a Simpson involved in the episode.
- 11:51Speaker 4: I think, so, yeah, that's really how it came across.
- 11:53Speaker 4: It wasn't so much so moving things forward or revealing
- 11:57Speaker 4: anything new or reinforcing something that we already knew. You're right,
- 12:01Speaker 4: It was just not that it was necessarily a filler.
- 12:05Speaker 4: I mean it, it was filler. It was good filler. Yeah.
- 12:09Speaker 4: I enjoyed it. Yeah, we got Was it a Warrior's parody? Uh? Yes?
- 12:13Speaker 4: With the bottles clinking? Yeah? Yeah?
- 12:15Speaker 5: Which was I guess was Kearney's son, because you're going
- 12:17Speaker 5: the Wikipedia and he's referred to as Keerniey's son. Okay, yeah,
- 12:21Speaker 5: kenniy Ken he must have another son because he has
- 12:23Speaker 5: another one where he's like a sleep in a drawer,
- 12:24Speaker 5: So that's one. You must have two kids. Overall though, Yeah,
- 12:27Speaker 5: I thought this was a fun episode. Fine, A fine
- 12:29Speaker 5: episode wasn't like laugh out loud funny or anything. Had
- 12:32Speaker 5: its moments, but it was just a sweet story. I
- 12:34Speaker 5: guess you could say. I feel like the most episodes
- 12:36Speaker 5: tend to be a lot more enjoyable as an adult
- 12:38Speaker 5: man as a kid. I think, I really not that
- 12:41Speaker 5: I relate to Mo, but I understand MO a lot
- 12:44Speaker 5: more as I get older. When I was a kid,
- 12:45Speaker 5: he's just like this grumpy old widow. And as you
- 12:48Speaker 5: get older and you become a grumpy old widow, you
- 12:50Speaker 5: start to sort of go, oh, I can see things.
- 12:52Speaker 5: I can see why he's this way.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Oh yeah, why he's perpetually sort of irritated all it
- 12:57Speaker 4: feels like the worlds against it was only No Funeral.
- 12:59Speaker 5: Yeah, one of the best sight gags in the history
- 13:03Speaker 5: of The Simpsons is No Funeral.
- 13:06Speaker 4: Terribly dark, terribly die. But also, yeah, I can relate it. Yeah.
- 13:13Speaker 5: But before we get into full blown reviews and favorite
- 13:15Speaker 5: moments and that kind of stuff, let's talk about our weekend.
- 13:17Speaker 4: How'd you go?
- 13:17Speaker 5: I want to touch on my working because I often
- 13:20Speaker 5: get to Monday morning. Right, I'm thirty six, turning thirty
- 13:23Speaker 5: seven this year, and obviously I'm a dad, running a
- 13:26Speaker 5: long and sleep and whatnot and tired and working. I
- 13:28Speaker 5: can't remember what happens on the weekend half the time,
- 13:30Speaker 5: and it scares me a little bit. I go, I
- 13:32Speaker 5: genuinely have to think, what did I do yesterday? But
- 13:35Speaker 5: this weekend was so fun that I remembered all of it.
- 13:37Speaker 5: So like a Friday. I gotta give a shout out
- 13:39Speaker 5: to my my mom and my sister. It was their
- 13:41Speaker 5: birthday on Friday. So my mom turned sixty two, throwing
- 13:45Speaker 5: your age out there, and my sister turned thirty three.
- 13:47Speaker 5: But it's nice. My sister was born on my mum's birthday.
- 13:49Speaker 5: I was born on Father's Day. Both born on special days. Yeah,
- 13:51Speaker 5: so happy birthday to my mum and my sister. We
- 13:53Speaker 5: went up to a Japanese or you can eat restaurant
- 13:55Speaker 5: on Packington Street. I'm not sure we've ever been there.
- 13:58Speaker 5: Have you ever been there?
- 13:59Speaker 4: I have not been there. It's worth they not worth it.
- 14:02Speaker 4: It couldn't exist anymore if i'd been there. Yeah, eat,
- 14:06Speaker 4: they've gone out of business. That what they do is
- 14:07Speaker 4: that he ate all we had.
- 14:09Speaker 5: They give you sessions, so you got ninety minute session
- 14:11Speaker 5: to eat as much as you can at a time.
- 14:13Speaker 4: But basically that sounds very organized in the Japanese fashion.
- 14:16Speaker 5: Yeah, and it's clever too, because if you order food
- 14:19Speaker 5: and you don't finish it, that make you pay for
- 14:21Speaker 5: it extra. So it's like, only order what you can't eat,
- 14:23Speaker 5: don't just order a shitload of food to your table
- 14:26Speaker 5: and waste because they're like, we don't want to waste food.
- 14:28Speaker 4: This is sounding like the trolley problem. Well, this is
- 14:30Speaker 4: sounding like some hypothetical. It's like it as much as
- 14:32Speaker 4: you can, but then this time, but if you don't
- 14:34Speaker 4: eat all you can inside, as Guy Likes says, it
- 14:38Speaker 4: was my understanding, there would be no math.
- 14:39Speaker 5: So it got to the point where at the end
- 14:41Speaker 5: I was like I ordered this soution, I was like,
- 14:42Speaker 5: I can't eat it, so so switched it a bit so.
- 14:47Speaker 4: But it was good.
- 14:48Speaker 5: It's like thirty something dollars or you can eat Japanese
- 14:50Speaker 5: great food.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Delicious. Was good.
- 14:52Speaker 5: Yeah, but the kids, you know, they don't eat enough
- 14:54Speaker 5: of it, so it's not worth it. Not worth taking
- 14:55Speaker 5: your kids at this, honestly. But if you're just going
- 14:57Speaker 5: out on a date with the lovely little whatever or
- 14:58Speaker 5: her kids who are older, that was it was well
- 15:01Speaker 5: worth the time. So then on Saturday we went to
- 15:02Speaker 5: the football pissing down rain, but it's a good time.
- 15:05Speaker 4: We took Holly. She's not really interested in the footy,
- 15:07Speaker 4: but she was well behaved enough for us to enjoy
- 15:08Speaker 4: the footy. Still, it's amazing that not into the footy
- 15:12Speaker 4: and also went to the footy in the rain.
- 15:14Speaker 5: Yeah, it was a miserable well it's been a shitty
- 15:18Speaker 5: weekend weatherwise in Geelong, but we went to a two
- 15:20Speaker 5: dollars shop on the way.
- 15:21Speaker 4: We got some ponchos.
- 15:23Speaker 5: Kids loved it. They had a great time. But then
- 15:25Speaker 5: Saturday night after the footy, we caught it with one
- 15:27Speaker 5: of our dear patrons, actually the very first patron we
- 15:30Speaker 5: ever had here at the very first stone cut we
- 15:32Speaker 5: ever had your a four fingre disc at Jordan Moulman Richie.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Correct out loud, Jordan Mulman. Richie was in town in
- 15:38Speaker 4: g Town. Yeah, yeah, that's part of his globe trotting
- 15:42Speaker 4: world travels for his business. Should we give hm shout
- 15:44Speaker 4: out of business to it? Singer s I n g
- 15:48Speaker 4: A karaoke systems I believe, yes.
- 15:50Speaker 5: Yeah, so he sells karaoke. It's like a karaoke system. Yeah,
- 15:53Speaker 5: with the rooms kind of thing where that you hire
- 15:56Speaker 5: their program to run your karaoke room.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Yeah, and apparently very big in Geelong. Well it's coming
- 16:02Speaker 4: very big in Geelong. Dan and I met him. We
- 16:04Speaker 4: sort of did it in phases as well. Because Dan
- 16:07Speaker 4: was at the foot of You with his kids. I
- 16:09Speaker 4: hadn't gone that day, so I did an initial meeting
- 16:11Speaker 4: with Jordan at a place called here and Now in Geelong,
- 16:14Speaker 4: a karaoke lounge because karaoke is his business. So we
- 16:19Speaker 4: did that and then.
- 16:20Speaker 5: As soon as I arrived, guys like one leaving now
- 16:23Speaker 5: we're passing the time.
- 16:25Speaker 4: Well, I had to go see lou so you know,
- 16:27Speaker 4: but we had a nice little we all had a
- 16:28Speaker 4: very good catch up. Very good to see.
- 16:30Speaker 5: Jordan doing well. Going back to where's he from Finland?
- 16:33Speaker 4: Finland?
- 16:34Speaker 5: That's right, yes, but he hopes to eventually move back
- 16:35Speaker 5: to Australia at some point as well, So hopefully see
- 16:38Speaker 5: you again. Mole Man. Thanks for the beer on the
- 16:40Speaker 5: works dollar, that's correct.
- 16:42Speaker 4: Yeah, when we were offering to buy him a beer
- 16:44Speaker 4: and he's saying, no, no work or pick this up
- 16:45Speaker 4: business tab business tad. That's the thing I had to
- 16:49Speaker 4: ask him a little bit about his business so he
- 16:50Speaker 4: could legitimately right off. But no, very very good to
- 16:52Speaker 4: see him. Yeah, he seems to be to be going great.
- 16:56Speaker 4: He told some wonderful stories about Finland, about karaoke, talked
- 17:01Speaker 4: a bit about the simptoms as we want to do.
- 17:02Speaker 4: So that was a good catch up.
- 17:04Speaker 5: I believe how cheap Petro was here, that's true. Yeah,
- 17:07Speaker 5: go to England. It's like two pound, two pounds a pound.
- 17:13Speaker 5: So you went to the foot you had so John,
- 17:17Speaker 5: Mom and Rich is Saurday night and then Sunday. I
- 17:19Speaker 5: won't name the place because I don't want to throw
- 17:21Speaker 5: the under the bus, right, I'll go we went.
- 17:23Speaker 4: I won't do it.
- 17:23Speaker 5: But it's a local place here with a bunch of
- 17:25Speaker 5: crazy crap on the walls. Take your kids to have
- 17:27Speaker 5: a bit of fun. We met up with our friends,
- 17:29Speaker 5: but we've been raving about this place, right, and we said,
- 17:32Speaker 5: you've gotta come out of lunch. Theare They got a
- 17:33Speaker 5: great Sunday special. We get kids meals, blah blah blah,
- 17:36Speaker 5: get free games and whatnot. You know might have worked
- 17:38Speaker 5: that word. It is where there's games to play arka games.
- 17:41Speaker 4: I may well know what you're talking about. But still
- 17:43Speaker 4: we're not going to throw anyone under the back.
- 17:44Speaker 5: But my friend Phil, I've referred him many times. He's
- 17:47Speaker 5: the best man at my wedding. It seems to be
- 17:48Speaker 5: wherever you go with Phil, something goes wrong with his
- 17:51Speaker 5: food or something's late. It's like he just brings this
- 17:55Speaker 5: bad luck with.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Him, right. It was just an albatross. Yeah.
- 17:58Speaker 5: So we get there and normally the food comes out
- 18:00Speaker 5: really quickly. So we said to the ladies. They're like,
- 18:03Speaker 5: we don't want to go to the arcade. You guys,
- 18:04Speaker 5: take the kids for a bit. We'll sit here and
- 18:06Speaker 5: watch the table. When the food comes over, we'll come
- 18:08Speaker 5: get you. Yeah, so I or first the food feel
- 18:11Speaker 5: ordered after me like a minute later, and then we're
- 18:14Speaker 5: in the arcade and I'm not nikolair. Phil's wife comes
- 18:18Speaker 5: over and says, oh, Brendan, your food's arrived. Ours won't
- 18:21Speaker 5: be far away. I'm like cool, So I said, Phil,
- 18:22Speaker 5: let's go back to the table. So we're got to
- 18:23Speaker 5: the table. Our food's sitting there and they're waiting. They're waiting,
- 18:26Speaker 5: they're waiting, they're waiting, and then the mother's meal comes,
- 18:30Speaker 5: a chicken burger, and the rest of the two kids,
- 18:32Speaker 5: and fill they're waiting. They're waiting, and like ten minutes
- 18:35Speaker 5: goes by, and I said, this isn't right and normally
- 18:37Speaker 5: all comes out together. Something's not right here, and he goes,
- 18:41Speaker 5: should be fine. We ordered little bit after you, so
- 18:42Speaker 5: maybe it'll be fine. I was like, nah, something's not right.
- 18:44Speaker 5: Long so I got up, went to the counter and
- 18:47Speaker 5: I said, oh, but just wondering table six. It was
- 18:50Speaker 5: table six forty six orright, table forty six. The mothers
- 18:54Speaker 5: received her food, but everyone else has and the guy
- 18:56Speaker 5: gets her seat and he goes, get me brought to
- 18:57Speaker 5: the table, and I went, what was brought to the
- 19:00Speaker 5: wrong table? And he goes, no, no, And this smartass
- 19:04Speaker 5: guy not him, this guy next to him with a
- 19:07Speaker 5: shit eating grin on his face, just walks over his
- 19:09Speaker 5: little hips looking dude with his freaking hand.
- 19:11Speaker 4: And a bun and his glasses on.
- 19:12Speaker 5: He's just sitting his little shitty teenager mustache and he's
- 19:15Speaker 5: just like I brought all eight meals to the table
- 19:18Speaker 5: with a little shit inny grin on his face, and
- 19:20Speaker 5: I went, well, you didn't. I brought them all over
- 19:23Speaker 5: on the same tray and placed them all down at
- 19:25Speaker 5: the same time, and I said, my wife has not
- 19:28Speaker 5: left that table and he goes, yeah, no, yeah, she
- 19:30Speaker 5: was sitting there when I placed them all down. Yep,
- 19:32Speaker 5: they were all sitting there when I play them all down.
- 19:34Speaker 5: I went, well you didn't. I said, four meals arrived,
- 19:36Speaker 5: and then about five minutes later, one extra meal arrived
- 19:39Speaker 5: and I said, actually saying that, that means that you
- 19:42Speaker 5: didn't bring all that over because one came, and then
- 19:45Speaker 5: he goes, oh, yeah, I brought the last one over.
- 19:47Speaker 5: About five minutes later. I went, no, you didn't. You
- 19:48Speaker 5: didn't bring it over. Someone else brought it over. And
- 19:50Speaker 5: then the guy looks at him and he goes, are
- 19:52Speaker 5: you sure. He goes believe me, I know I'd brought
- 19:55Speaker 5: them all over, and he had the big shit inny
- 19:56Speaker 5: grin on his face and I said, boy, you come
- 19:58Speaker 5: with me right now and come calm my wife a
- 20:00Speaker 5: liar and he went, no, I'm not doing that. I said,
- 20:04Speaker 5: you're calling my wife a liar. Come over and tell
- 20:06Speaker 5: her she's a liar. Where's the security footage? And his
- 20:08Speaker 5: brother comes over, who's apparently the manager, and he goes,
- 20:10Speaker 5: what's going on. I said, he's called my wife a liar,
- 20:12Speaker 5: we didn't get our food, and he goes which table?
- 20:14Speaker 5: I said, forty six And he looks at his brother,
- 20:16Speaker 5: and his brother goes, I took it all over. I
- 20:17Speaker 5: don't know what to tell you. I went you didn't,
- 20:19Speaker 5: I said, get the security footage.
- 20:20Speaker 4: You know what happened.
- 20:21Speaker 5: We had friends on table twenty six right who had
- 20:25Speaker 5: ordered the same meals. They brought over to their table
- 20:30Speaker 5: three meals, but the mom didn't get her meal till
- 20:32Speaker 5: about fifteen twenty minutes later because they fucking took the
- 20:36Speaker 5: three meals from our table to their table instead. Did
- 20:39Speaker 5: they ever own up to this?
- 20:40Speaker 4: No? Okay, Now I'm team dandel on this. Of course,
- 20:43Speaker 4: having said that common enough mistake. If this guy hadn't
- 20:46Speaker 4: been such a douchebag, that's it. Everything would have been
- 20:48Speaker 4: all right.
- 20:49Speaker 5: I said, all you had to do was own it. Yeah,
- 20:52Speaker 5: if you make a mistake, we own it.
- 20:54Speaker 4: We say, the customer is always right. The customer is
- 20:56Speaker 4: not always right. But I was right here, but in
- 20:58Speaker 4: this case you were so. Really it's words to sort
- 21:02Speaker 4: of live by if you're in the service injuries, like
- 21:03Speaker 4: the customer is always right, Just go along to get along,
- 21:07Speaker 4: maybe spit in their burger a bit later.
- 21:09Speaker 5: Who knows, but you know what happened. They then said,
- 21:11Speaker 5: we'll happen. We'll make them up really quickly now for
- 21:14Speaker 5: you guys. So we go back to the table. They're waiting,
- 21:16Speaker 5: they're waiting, they're waiting. They're bring over the food. They
- 21:18Speaker 5: take it to the same fucking table again, and our
- 21:21Speaker 5: friends were like, no, we didn't order this. They're like,
- 21:22Speaker 5: so he takes it back and puts it back on
- 21:24Speaker 5: the bay marine. He takes it to the wrong table again.
- 21:28Speaker 5: Then we're playing bowling and our friends just happened to
- 21:31Speaker 5: be in the lane next to us who are on
- 21:32Speaker 5: the other table.
- 21:33Speaker 4: You could just say bowling. What did I say, playing bowling?
- 21:37Speaker 4: We're doing more bowling? I know?
- 21:38Speaker 5: Ye yeah, And this same ship edting grin looking motherfucker
- 21:42Speaker 5: brings over fish and chips, and he goes, who order
- 21:44Speaker 5: fish and chips? We'll go none of us order fish
- 21:46Speaker 5: and chips. He was taking it to the wrong fucking yeah.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Okay, this guy sucks this clearly.
- 21:51Speaker 5: It was the ship eating grin on his face. After
- 21:53Speaker 5: he's like, yeah, I took it all over, and I went.
- 21:55Speaker 4: You didn't, you didn't, You made a mistake. Just just
- 21:59Speaker 4: own it.
- 21:59Speaker 5: But he refused to acknowledge made a mistake. So we
- 22:02Speaker 5: both got both got one hundred dollars gift out just
- 22:04Speaker 5: to use for next time.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Well that's good news. Yeah, if you ever want to
- 22:07Speaker 4: go back.
- 22:07Speaker 5: I was, well, I was more disappointed because we've been
- 22:10Speaker 5: talking to his place up like it's so good, our
- 22:12Speaker 5: friends travel all the way from Drysdale to come down
- 22:16Speaker 5: check it out, and this happened, and this happens.
- 22:19Speaker 4: I'll never trust you again.
- 22:21Speaker 5: But the motto for me is the message from all
- 22:23Speaker 5: this is, if you make a mistake, just accept it,
- 22:26Speaker 5: own it and be like I'm human, I'm sorry.
- 22:27Speaker 4: I have to fix it. Absolutely absolutely. Yeah. So that was.
- 22:30Speaker 5: That was a fun Sunday. It was we haven't had
- 22:32Speaker 5: a good time nonetheless. And then on Monday we went
- 22:34Speaker 5: and saw Stitch. Oh, Lilo and Lelo and Stitch. Yes,
- 22:37Speaker 5: I thought for some reason I thought it was called Stitch.
- 22:40Speaker 5: All the marketing just said Stitch and then also marketing
- 22:42Speaker 5: at the movies, and I said, oh, it's Lelo and Stitch.
- 22:44Speaker 5: I thought it was just marketed as Stitch.
- 22:45Speaker 4: I say, with all due respect to delightful child who
- 22:48Speaker 4: is Lelo, We're all there for Stitch. Yeah, everyone's there
- 22:51Speaker 4: for Stitch.
- 22:52Speaker 5: And yeah, we used our points of a villageh didn't
- 22:55Speaker 5: with points, so we didn't have to pay anything for that.
- 22:57Speaker 5: But food price has gone up in the candy bar again,
- 22:59Speaker 5: it was like thirty two dollars with just two popcorns
- 23:01Speaker 5: and a drink and I was like, what's going on?
- 23:03Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I hope you maybe smuggled in like a
- 23:05Speaker 4: bottle of water and a packet of las in your pocket.
- 23:07Speaker 5: Nicola brought in a baked potato with all the trimmings.
- 23:10Speaker 5: I brought in some sushi.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Why would you pay extortion a snack bar mark up price?
- 23:18Speaker 5: Exactly right, you would not do it. And it's funny
- 23:19Speaker 5: because Nicola opened up the potato. It's just aroama of
- 23:22Speaker 5: just baked potatoes. To see all the mums go yeah, I.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Was really happy about It's like, oh you know what,
- 23:28Speaker 4: it would go down great when that would be a
- 23:29Speaker 4: baked potato. Yeah.
- 23:31Speaker 5: So Stitch though, I enjoyed it. It's it's pretty different
- 23:34Speaker 5: to the original animes religion. Yeah, I didn't read any reviews.
- 23:37Speaker 5: I did see some people bad mouth think it's just people.
- 23:40Speaker 5: It's not the way it used to be the basic mentality.
- 23:42Speaker 5: My kids enjoyed it all that it is the way
- 23:44Speaker 5: it used to be. Yeah, it's actually a pretty different story.
- 23:48Speaker 5: I mean, it's the same story, but the ending is
- 23:50Speaker 5: a bit different, and it's similar.
- 23:52Speaker 4: It's not.
- 23:52Speaker 5: If you've watched both, you understand what I'm talking about.
- 23:54Speaker 5: I don't want to spoil anything, okay, but yeah, I
- 23:56Speaker 5: thought for the most part it was a pretty enjoyable movie.
- 23:58Speaker 5: Goes pretty pretty long, two hours long for a kids movie.
- 24:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I'd say so.
- 24:03Speaker 5: The most annoying thing about the whole experience was just
- 24:06Speaker 5: I feel like, you go to the V Junior we
- 24:08Speaker 5: call them V Junior cinemas here in Geelong, or just
- 24:10Speaker 5: Fellishing was in Australia, where they're designed for kids who've
- 24:13Speaker 5: got a slide. They push pause halfway through the movie.
- 24:15Speaker 5: There's hot wheels, there's blocks, there's coloring in. I feel
- 24:18Speaker 5: like parents, though, they feel if I've bought a ticket
- 24:20Speaker 5: for this, that's my license to switch off and let
- 24:22Speaker 5: my kid run wild when a movie's on. And I
- 24:24Speaker 5: get that, but I don't mind your kid running wild.
- 24:27Speaker 5: If you're making an efforts just somewhat control them, be like, look,
- 24:30Speaker 5: come back, sit down. The movie's on, Sit the fuck down,
- 24:32Speaker 5: but it's the parents that sit there on their phones
- 24:34Speaker 5: while the kids are running up and down the aisles
- 24:36Speaker 5: and banging on the screen down the front, and you think,
- 24:38Speaker 5: do something.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Do I'm reminded of something I saw on the internet
- 24:43Speaker 4: over the weekend, kind of position in that aita kind
- 24:48Speaker 4: of thing. Am I the asshole? Yeah? Yeah, but it
- 24:50Speaker 4: was security footage of someone's house, like from their ring
- 24:52Speaker 4: camera or something. Okay, as we see these three kids
- 24:55Speaker 4: who look like tweens to early teenagers sort of running there, ah,
- 25:00Speaker 4: running from someone in the neighborhood. It turns out to
- 25:02Speaker 4: be this woman who is being called a Karen in
- 25:04Speaker 4: this particular situation cause he's like, I represent the homeowners
- 25:07Speaker 4: association of this area. Could you just tell your kids
- 25:11Speaker 4: to sort of keep it down a bit? They're running
- 25:13Speaker 4: up and down the street. I've had like twenty complaints
- 25:15Speaker 4: from twenty different houses that your kids are being kind
- 25:18Speaker 4: of loud, kind of annoying.
- 25:20Speaker 5: And rain it in slightly. Please, yeah, rain it in
- 25:23Speaker 5: a little bit.
- 25:23Speaker 4: These are your kids because you have come into your house,
- 25:26Speaker 4: have fun, but just don't Yeah, but also yeah, just
- 25:29Speaker 4: be connaistant. Yeah, to quote George Sixtans that we live
- 25:32Speaker 4: in a society here people and the dad I think
- 25:35Speaker 4: is kind of like, we're just letting kids be kids.
- 25:37Speaker 4: You know, if you're not, you're.
- 25:39Speaker 5: Actually doing nothing. You're sitting on your ass and side
- 25:41Speaker 5: doing fucking nothing. What you're doing, just let.
- 25:43Speaker 4: Children be children. You know, this is the problem with
- 25:45Speaker 4: society today. You're you know, blah blah blah blah. That's like, No,
- 25:49Speaker 4: I think you might be in the wrong. I think
- 25:50Speaker 4: your kids might be annoying as hell. And if you're
- 25:54Speaker 4: getting that many complaints from that many people who I'm
- 25:57Speaker 4: sure are not all teaming up saying let's be let's
- 26:00Speaker 4: all be collectively old man Davis and tell the kids
- 26:02Speaker 4: to get off our lawn. I don't know. I think
- 26:04Speaker 4: Karen might be on the right here. Yeah, you're My
- 26:06Speaker 4: weekend look not nearly as eventful, um felt. I was
- 26:10Speaker 4: coming down with the cold, so I said to the
- 26:11Speaker 4: lovely weads, I think I'm saying in tonight, honey, got
- 26:13Speaker 4: myself a pizza and watched Predator Killer of Killers. I
- 26:16Speaker 4: saw you. I enjoyed that. Yeah, I did enjoy that
- 26:18Speaker 4: very much.
- 26:18Speaker 5: I do enjoy going to bed at like one am
- 26:20Speaker 5: and then seeing you just go hashtag now watching whenever
- 26:22Speaker 5: I got to bed obvious, see like a hashtag now
- 26:23Speaker 5: watching your view.
- 26:24Speaker 4: Yeah it's really at one am.
- 26:25Speaker 5: It's usually two. You're making sure that was one last night?
- 26:30Speaker 5: You were watching what was it? Let's go on your Twitter.
- 26:32Speaker 4: I was watching Hannibal last night. Hand Yeah, rewatching the
- 26:35Speaker 4: TV series Hannibal.
- 26:36Speaker 5: About eleven o'clock last night? Was it was when I
- 26:39Speaker 5: went to bed last night about eleven eleven thirty.
- 26:41Speaker 4: No, I think I probably tweeted around ten or ten thirty.
- 26:43Speaker 4: I mean, you have a look, maybe it's just come
- 26:45Speaker 4: with my feet alone. I maybe went to bed at
- 26:46Speaker 4: around eleven thirty one's everything had wrapped up. Yeah, yeah,
- 26:49Speaker 4: good show.
- 26:51Speaker 5: But yeah, so I just said to Nikola, I feel
- 26:53Speaker 5: like when you go to the cinema experiences the V Junior,
- 26:56Speaker 5: you see the difference between parents and babysitters Oh sure,
- 26:59Speaker 5: and ones who don't want to actually put the foot
- 27:02Speaker 5: down because they have a slide. There's anyone slides. The
- 27:04Speaker 5: kids have the lineup, and these kids who were being
- 27:06Speaker 5: ship heads were of course, what do you think they
- 27:07Speaker 5: were doing when there was a line for the slide?
- 27:09Speaker 5: What do you think the Shihead kids were doing.
- 27:10Speaker 4: I imagine they were either cutting in line or they
- 27:12Speaker 4: were climbing up the slide. Both. Actually, you're right.
- 27:16Speaker 5: They won't climbing out the side during the film as well,
- 27:18Speaker 5: so you're not supposed touch the slide whilst the film
- 27:20Speaker 5: is running. But anyway, so Nicola goes back up there
- 27:22Speaker 5: and she's like policing the line and make sure these
- 27:24Speaker 5: kids aren't cuting in. Oh, she's ex police because yeah,
- 27:26Speaker 5: that's true. But the dad of the naughty girl was
- 27:29Speaker 5: just like, just let her go first and then you
- 27:30Speaker 5: guys can go like, wait what, So he's saying to
- 27:34Speaker 5: the he's saying, kids, let my daughter cut in so
- 27:36Speaker 5: she can get it out of a system, and then
- 27:38Speaker 5: you guys can have your fun. That's his way of parenting. Well,
- 27:41Speaker 5: it's terrible a parent. Oh god, Nicolas Nichola. I was
- 27:44Speaker 5: sitting there and I'm watching, and Nicola goes, no, she won't,
- 27:47Speaker 5: She'll go to the end of the line. And the
- 27:48Speaker 5: guy's like, I'm not going to fuck with this woman.
- 27:52Speaker 5: Go to the end of the line.
- 27:53Speaker 4: Speak. I can see why you two work so well.
- 27:57Speaker 4: I mean this in the best sense. You're very call
- 27:58Speaker 4: the manager. Well, I was sitting there.
- 28:02Speaker 5: I was Nicolas more bothered by it, but I just went,
- 28:04Speaker 5: you know what, You just can't let shithead kids get
- 28:06Speaker 5: away beating shit head kids.
- 28:07Speaker 4: Oh no, I become that, become shitthead teenagers and eventually
- 28:10Speaker 4: shithead adults.
- 28:10Speaker 5: Because what happens is Alliott for example, they'll kind of
- 28:13Speaker 5: from an Alliot. He'll react and go no, no, no, and
- 28:15Speaker 5: he'll like push him and he'll get in trouble for
- 28:17Speaker 5: reacting to it. And it's just like if every kid
- 28:20Speaker 5: just did what they're fucking told in the first place.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Oh, this shit would be a problem.

- 29:15Speaker 5: our favorite moment, shall we? For my weekend?
- 29:17Speaker 4: Let's get to the favorite moments from this episode. Well,
- 29:19Speaker 4: I was going to ask, I mean, you saw Stitch,
- 29:20Speaker 4: You're going to go see the live action how to
- 29:22Speaker 4: train your Dragon?
- 29:22Speaker 5: I've never seen the animated version.
- 29:24Speaker 4: What I've seen them.
- 29:26Speaker 5: I didn't seen Lelo and Stitch the animated version till
- 29:28Speaker 5: last week. I was like, well, I should probably watch
- 29:29Speaker 5: this first before I see the live action one. Oh,
- 29:31Speaker 5: you absolutely should. Yeah, yeah, I had to train and
- 29:33Speaker 5: Dragon's fantastic. I'm talking about the lego one. It's what
- 29:35Speaker 5: I Yeah, I hadn't seen the anime. I remember putting
- 29:38Speaker 5: it on for Ali. I may have mentioned this, and
- 29:39Speaker 5: it just it was very dark and it kind of
- 29:40Speaker 5: spooked him. I think it was about two or three
- 29:42Speaker 5: years ago, so you will have dragoned in about four. Yeah,
- 29:44Speaker 5: Dragon as I'm kind of spooky at the start.
- 29:46Speaker 4: It's just dark.
- 29:47Speaker 5: I being dark a little bit, not dark as in
- 29:49Speaker 5: like thing whise, just visually dark.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Sure.
- 29:52Speaker 5: But yeah, it's like three of them now right there.
- 29:54Speaker 5: There's a whole theme park now being dedicated to it.
- 29:56Speaker 5: I think at Universe, like the whole section.
- 29:59Speaker 4: Nice.
- 29:59Speaker 5: Yeah, was it Lightfoot? Is that the name?
- 30:01Speaker 4: What's the no? What's the toothless? Toothless? Is the black one? Yeah? Yeah,
- 30:05Speaker 4: I will check it out. I just never really, it's weird.
- 30:08Speaker 4: You just got to get to an age where we go.
- 30:10Speaker 5: You just skip a whole generation of animated films like
- 30:13Speaker 5: Lelo and Stitch, I said to Nicola late nineties till
- 30:16Speaker 5: like twenty ten, I just skipped a whole bunch of
- 30:18Speaker 5: animated films.
- 30:19Speaker 4: I just missed them. Yeah, and given your appreciation for
- 30:22Speaker 4: animation and all that kind of stuff, yeah, that is
- 30:24Speaker 4: a bit of it. I mean I was reviewing movies
- 30:25Speaker 4: at that time, so I mean, I'm of course I've
- 30:28Speaker 4: seen the Shreks and Leon Stitch and on the internet,
- 30:31Speaker 4: Emperors New groove and what was he Roduel Dorado and
- 30:37Speaker 4: a few other things like that Prince of a Prince
- 30:39Speaker 4: ofa that was late ninety early two thousands. But yeah,
- 30:42Speaker 4: I think there was. I'm trying to remember.
- 30:45Speaker 5: I didn't even see the Iron Giant tool. I was
- 30:47Speaker 5: much older, you know. I just missed the whole generation.
- 30:50Speaker 5: I think it ended for me at Pocahontas. I was
- 30:52Speaker 5: just Pocondest was the last one I remember watching them.
- 30:54Speaker 5: It was Mulan. I never watched Mulan. Tarzan is Tarzan, Hunchbacker,
- 30:58Speaker 5: not your dam none of those ones. Hercules didn't see
- 31:01Speaker 5: it either, I sto haven't seen it.
- 31:02Speaker 4: Wow, you've got the service, not as Disney. Plus, we
- 31:07Speaker 4: haven't deed.
- 31:07Speaker 5: Friends of the pod, Friend of the part, my favorite?
- 31:12Speaker 5: What were your favorite moments in the episode?
- 31:14Speaker 4: Okay, I liked it. There was a Little Women.
- 31:17Speaker 5: Callback that's actually one of mine as well. Yeah, it
- 31:20Speaker 5: made sense. It's from Homer Loves Slanders when it's like
- 31:23Speaker 5: they were no longer Little Girls get a whim it.
- 31:27Speaker 4: It's not actually, this is probably not news to any
- 31:30Speaker 4: but that's not actually a line in Little Women, is
- 31:32Speaker 4: it not? Okay? Oh no, it's just a joke that
- 31:34Speaker 4: they made up. But you've got so many people who
- 31:36Speaker 4: have actually like that's the end they've written like high
- 31:40Speaker 4: school assignments, they were no longer a little girl? Are
- 31:43Speaker 4: little women any seventeen? And look at those guys. You
- 31:47Speaker 4: didn't read the book? What's the Simpsons?
- 31:50Speaker 5: Most is like the Simpsons did change that like history
- 31:53Speaker 5: in many ways in that aspect though, like things happen
- 31:55Speaker 5: on the Simpsons, you just assume that really happened.
- 31:57Speaker 4: Oh yeah, no, no no, but yeah. And I also did
- 32:02Speaker 4: like trying to be sensitive in his own particular way,
- 32:07Speaker 4: referring to my as hard as it's just sort of
- 32:10Speaker 4: like a Benjamin Button.
- 32:11Speaker 5: Deal I actually want to touch. Do you think they
- 32:14Speaker 5: got the idea for this episode by someone?
- 32:16Speaker 4: And the writers are.
- 32:17Speaker 5: Going people actually think that Moe said that little women
- 32:20Speaker 5: that they think it's in the real book, and and
- 32:21Speaker 5: someone goes should actually date a little person? Don't established
- 32:25Speaker 5: from that. It's such a random story. It really is
- 32:29Speaker 5: for Mo to be like, I feel like that little
- 32:32Speaker 5: callback for me, I went, I wonder if.
- 32:34Speaker 4: That yeah, interesting? Speaking of I think they're mostly Mo
- 32:39Speaker 4: lines my favorite bits, but just yeah, where he's talking
- 32:41Speaker 4: about how he's actually starting to fall for for my
- 32:44Speaker 4: It's like, it's like my heart wants to do it.
- 32:47Speaker 4: It's very sweet, It is very and it's kind of
- 32:50Speaker 4: very mo Yeah, it's also very male. I initially thought
- 32:57Speaker 4: we'll talk about this more when we talk about the
- 32:59Speaker 4: episode in but like the Mya storyline just ends like that.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Oh no, Actually I had a pretty decent resolution at
- 33:05Speaker 4: the very end.
- 33:06Speaker 5: Yes, that's true. Yeah, because I was like, oh, that's
- 33:09Speaker 5: kind of sad and depression.
- 33:10Speaker 4: That's kind of sad, and that's it, you know, there's
- 33:13Speaker 4: you're wrapping it up like that. But no, it wasn't
- 33:15Speaker 4: really and my story it was more a Most story
- 33:18Speaker 4: about Most sort of taking one more step on his
- 33:21Speaker 4: emotional journey.
- 33:21Speaker 5: So well, Homer's advice I actually really liked where he says,
- 33:25Speaker 5: you were on the sidelines, but now you're back in
- 33:26Speaker 5: the game and someone did love you, which means that
- 33:29Speaker 5: someone could love you a get in the future, And
- 33:30Speaker 5: I like that's a great mindset to have. You've lost someone,
- 33:33Speaker 5: but that someone loved you, which means there's going to
- 33:36Speaker 5: be someone else out there who will as well. Yes,
- 33:38Speaker 5: don't don't fall off, don't go back on the sidelines,
- 33:40Speaker 5: get back in the game.
- 33:41Speaker 4: I have certainly had that when when I went through
- 33:44Speaker 4: a very bad breakup at one stage and thought, oh,
- 33:46Speaker 4: that's it. I'm off the table, completely unlovable, that kind
- 33:51Speaker 4: of things like what love hurt? Well, yeah, very much,
- 33:55Speaker 4: but no, that's that's exactly the line of thinking that
- 33:58Speaker 4: I had, where it's like, no, that's not true. You know,
- 34:01Speaker 4: people have loved me in the past, and I imagine
- 34:03Speaker 4: they will do it, they will do so again in
- 34:05Speaker 4: the future. I can be loved, yeah, provided I.
- 34:09Speaker 5: Shaved my chest and well, yeah, make sure you don't
- 34:12Speaker 5: have the Santa Claus be and all that kind of stuff.
- 34:15Speaker 4: But my my favorite part, well was it I imagine
- 34:20Speaker 4: they did. There's a tribute to Guy Davis. They reverred
- 34:22Speaker 4: to something as already in progress, which what was that? Oh,
- 34:26Speaker 4: this was early on. I've forgotten. I think it was.
- 34:29Speaker 4: Do you know who said it? Hockey game?
- 34:31Speaker 5: Yeah, the hockey game. Yes, yeah, I actually didn't mind
- 34:34Speaker 5: that as well. Where you know, I think he said
- 34:36Speaker 5: something on the lines of when it's not sports season,
- 34:38Speaker 5: I'm like, it's always sports season.
- 34:41Speaker 6: Next question, you there eating the past?
- 34:44Speaker 5: All right, trivia time. My first question for you, mister Davis,
- 34:48Speaker 5: is What is the name of the Chinese restaurant next
- 34:51Speaker 5: door to it?
- 34:53Speaker 4: Is the Pan Fried Dragon. It is owned by Lying Chao.
- 34:57Speaker 5: Yes, correct, Yes, indeed, Oh, you should have got Trey
- 35:00Speaker 5: Parker and a guest voice that character.
- 35:04Speaker 4: Yeah, just to make sure that, Yeah, everything was completely sensitive,
- 35:07Speaker 4: everything everything was culturally correct. They announce in a very
- 35:14Speaker 4: long sentence the name of the hockey game that Homer
- 35:16Speaker 4: is watching. What is it? Oh? Can I check my
- 35:18Speaker 4: notes and on that too?
- 35:19Speaker 5: Of course I know it is the mid Atlantic Hockey
- 35:23Speaker 5: League Conference semi final do over game. That's the seventh overtime.
- 35:27Speaker 4: You said that to you? Okay, Your next question.
- 35:29Speaker 5: For me, speaking of the hockey game, who are the
- 35:31Speaker 5: sesame street characters that are waiting to join the ice
- 35:35Speaker 5: Elmo's in there is the one takes the head off.
- 35:37Speaker 5: It's a woman eating a hot dog or whatever.
- 35:40Speaker 4: What's this?
- 35:40Speaker 5: Bird and Ernie no grow No, think of the main dude,
- 35:45Speaker 5: big bird, big bird. Yeah, I've always said big bird,
- 35:48Speaker 5: you know, big bird for fighters.
- 35:53Speaker 4: Big Bird's that's a big bird cookie monster.
- 36:00Speaker 5: I'll say one's count. Yes, always always terrified me as
- 36:06Speaker 5: a kid.
- 36:06Speaker 4: Count. It's just it's just the way he's demeanor and
- 36:09Speaker 4: excitement and just that you know your numbers now that
- 36:12Speaker 4: don't you? I do know? And then the odor this guy.
- 36:14Speaker 5: If I wasn't hang out any sesame street Carricter, it's
- 36:16Speaker 5: gonna be count it seems always having a good time
- 36:19Speaker 5: Burton Ernie. Really if I feel like you'd be a
- 36:23Speaker 5: real negative atmosphere hanging out.
- 36:24Speaker 4: With canceling each other outsc Oscar.
- 36:27Speaker 5: The groud should be fun to hang out with it
- 36:28Speaker 5: his bitch about life. Yes, Cookie might, I'll be like, dude,
- 36:31Speaker 5: just chill.
- 36:32Speaker 4: He must have no personality outside let enjoying Cookie. Yeah,
- 36:35Speaker 4: it's just almost too optimistic and too sort of cheerful.
- 36:38Speaker 5: Big birds the friends you want when you're down, feeling
- 36:40Speaker 5: down and out.
- 36:42Speaker 4: I imagine I'd be hanging out with Snuffer lovely guess,
- 36:44Speaker 4: because I'd be trying to convince people that I actually
- 36:46Speaker 4: had friends.
- 36:49Speaker 5: Stuff a love igus. Remember that movie follow That Bird.
- 36:52Speaker 5: I'm aware I stored that film as a kid, and
- 36:55Speaker 5: I thought it was just a figment of my imagination.
- 36:56Speaker 5: And I saw it pop up on Fox tele Reason.
- 36:59Speaker 5: I was like, wait, this had like a cinematic this
- 37:01Speaker 5: was a real movie. Oh yeah, not just a figment
- 37:03Speaker 5: no good, good, good good film for children? Follow that Bird?
- 37:07Speaker 4: How much money did Mo change by saving his name?
- 37:10Speaker 4: Changing his name? Three hundred dollars? Do you have my
- 37:13Speaker 4: notes in the review?
- 37:14Speaker 5: That funny gag but doesn't make sense when you've had
- 37:17Speaker 5: callbacks where Moe is a kid and he's just called Mo.
- 37:19Speaker 4: Have we reached the stage of the game most timeline
- 37:23Speaker 4: is continuity is just an absolute jumble, and they're doing gigs.
- 37:26Speaker 5: Just for the fun of it. Not just most, just
- 37:27Speaker 5: the Simpsons time, but especially its. You literally have to
- 37:30Speaker 5: take each episode in its own little bubble these days,
- 37:34Speaker 5: did this twenty two minutes entertain me?
- 37:36Speaker 4: Yay or nay?
- 37:38Speaker 5: More? I feel like it's been more yay than nay lately.
- 37:41Speaker 5: But you can't go. But in the past this happened.
- 37:44Speaker 5: It's like that doesn't exist.
- 37:46Speaker 4: No, don't we don't believe in that? All right? Did
- 37:49Speaker 4: you have one more question for me?
- 37:50Speaker 5: I'm trying to find one more for you? Okay, So
- 37:53Speaker 5: what does Moe referred wants to become a what when
- 37:58Speaker 5: he's talking to him it and wants to become a something?
- 38:01Speaker 3: Mo?
- 38:02Speaker 4: Oh, it's a micromode micromo okay, man, one last question
- 38:07Speaker 4: for you. I believe when Maya shows up at the
- 38:11Speaker 4: bar at Most.
- 38:13Speaker 5: Yes, yes, there is a bottle of a particular drink
- 38:16Speaker 5: on the bar. Was it the snaps you put under
- 38:19Speaker 5: his arms?
- 38:19Speaker 4: Yes? Yeah, he used to.
- 38:20Speaker 5: He's like deodrant. Yes, what do you spray or whatever?
- 38:23Speaker 4: Yeah? Do you remer kind of snaps? No? I don't.
- 38:26Speaker 4: It was mint minch snaps, mi snaps, which is probably
- 38:28Speaker 4: the best kind of put under your arm pits. I
- 38:30Speaker 4: don't think I've ever had snaps. I don't know what
- 38:32Speaker 4: it is. What kind of drink is that? I think
- 38:33Speaker 4: it's like a very concentrated spirit. Okay, yeah, bit like
- 38:38Speaker 4: I keep wanting to say souvlaki, but that's not it.
- 38:41Speaker 5: That's the that's what you put under your arm it.
- 38:44Speaker 4: But it comes in the big bottle. It's kind of
- 38:46Speaker 4: the stick no, no, no, no, my goodness. Yeah, I
- 38:49Speaker 4: clearly had too much of this back in the day
- 38:51Speaker 4: because I can't remember the name of it. The Really
- 38:53Speaker 4: it comes at a tall bottle. It's kind of a
- 38:55Speaker 4: sticky liquid. You light it up same.
- 38:57Speaker 5: Book, Sam Booker, Yeah, yeah, the one that you light
- 38:59Speaker 5: on the tee sprea, oh yeah, or you're light in
- 39:02Speaker 5: the glass, which is the one that starts with tea. No, no,
- 39:06Speaker 5: no no, maybe it is same Booker. I know there
- 39:08Speaker 5: was no, no, no absent. There was something I remember.
- 39:12Speaker 4: I was a kid, and it's just I don't know
- 39:13Speaker 4: his memory. Just stay with me.
- 39:15Speaker 5: And a bunch of Greek guys like getting ways of
- 39:19Speaker 5: perhaps maybe and they go check this out. They get this,
- 39:22Speaker 5: They brought the spirit light and it just catches on
- 39:23Speaker 5: fire and I was like, why are you drinking this?
- 39:28Speaker 4: Let me tell you a fun story about when guy
- 39:30Speaker 4: was young and dumb. Yeah, I was hanging out with
- 39:32Speaker 4: the saddie Steve. We used to enjoy a drink back
- 39:35Speaker 4: in the day and we would get you know these
- 39:36Speaker 4: bottles and Booker and have just you know a bit
- 39:38Speaker 4: of pregaming.
- 39:39Speaker 5: Just find the say same Booker, Sam Booker, Sam Booker.
- 39:41Speaker 4: But you'd pour it a little shot glass and you'd
- 39:43Speaker 4: light it up, and you know what tough game.
- 39:48Speaker 5: Look at me, ladies except getting likely.
- 39:50Speaker 4: There were no ladies around it this particular occasion, because
- 39:53Speaker 4: I thought, well, I'll be even cooler littered. Did you
- 39:57Speaker 4: get your pants? I didn't mean although you'd be given
- 40:00Speaker 4: for yeah, you'd allow me that much. Given this case.
- 40:02Speaker 4: But I thought, well, I'm gonna snuff it out with
- 40:05Speaker 4: my hand, except there's Zambooka on the rim of the glass,
- 40:12Speaker 4: so it sticks to my hand and forms a little bond.
- 40:15Speaker 4: So I've got a burning shot of Zambooka concentrated on
- 40:20Speaker 4: the palm of my head.
- 40:21Speaker 5: Harry from home alone with the little McAllister doorhand.
- 40:23Speaker 4: That's pretty much it. It was only there for like
- 40:28Speaker 4: a few seconds. I realized, oh wait a minute, how
- 40:29Speaker 4: ow that's hurting?
- 40:30Speaker 5: But how long did the mark stay on a hand?
- 40:32Speaker 4: For a little while I had a perfect burned circle
- 40:36Speaker 4: on my power by being ridicular zam Booker fun stuff,
- 40:43Speaker 4: but you know, not for kids. It's the Australian. Don't
- 40:48Speaker 4: try it at home, all right? Yeah, that's all I've
- 40:51Speaker 4: got to ask you.
- 40:51Speaker 5: And you ask you one more. Who did mister Largo
- 40:53Speaker 5: want to look like?
- 40:55Speaker 4: Oh?
- 40:55Speaker 5: Damn it, Julie somebody nemah Oh okay, I was about
- 41:00Speaker 5: to say, kin.
- 41:01Speaker 4: Who is Julie Newmar? Julie Newmar was she was the
- 41:06Speaker 4: catwoman on on the TV series Batman. Was she the
- 41:09Speaker 4: original one?
- 41:09Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 41:10Speaker 4: She's done a bunch of other stuff, but I think
- 41:11Speaker 4: that might which she's best known for Okay, then a
- 41:15Speaker 4: lot of great cat women back in the day. Was
- 41:17Speaker 4: there really not just the one player that? Oh no,
- 41:19Speaker 4: there was Lee mery Weather on Earth A Kit was
- 41:21Speaker 4: Catwoman for a while. Okay.
- 41:22Speaker 5: Then, yeah, I own every episode on Blue. I bought
- 41:25Speaker 5: the box it because Jamie had a sale, buy one
- 41:27Speaker 5: boxing at one free and I was like, it's gonna
- 41:29Speaker 5: cost about twenty five dollars, I might as well do this.
- 41:30Speaker 5: Gabe had a sale sale look at you, and I
- 41:36Speaker 5: was just like one of these days. Because it used
- 41:38Speaker 5: to be on really early in the mornings. I used
- 41:39Speaker 5: to watch it and it was just fun because but
- 41:40Speaker 5: it was just it was on before Rage, you know,
- 41:43Speaker 5: so I'd put I'd put it on, all right, I'll
- 41:44Speaker 5: have this on for like fifty minutes whilst Rage is
- 41:46Speaker 5: about to start. I have no real memories of besides
- 41:49Speaker 5: seeing them walk upper side of a wall.
- 41:51Speaker 4: Sure were they great times when you you bought something
- 41:55Speaker 4: a JB or you bought it on online or whatever.
- 41:58Speaker 4: It's like, oh, I'm going to devote a bit of
- 42:01Speaker 4: time to sitting down and watching the show from beginning
- 42:03Speaker 4: to end that I've always enjoyed it. And then it's like, oh,
- 42:05Speaker 4: wait a minute, I got no time to do that. Yeah.
- 42:07Speaker 5: I I my friend Matt, who lives in the States now.
- 42:10Speaker 5: Every so often he comes back, usually twice a year,
- 42:13Speaker 5: but sometimes once he comes back from America, it's the
- 42:15Speaker 5: guy I bought. I said, do you want to bring
- 42:16Speaker 5: some stuff? And will you bring back a hardcover novel?
- 42:18Speaker 5: And I was like, probably not, it's probably too heavy.
- 42:20Speaker 5: But he brought me back the shield Box set on
- 42:24Speaker 5: blue ray, and that was eighteen months ago, and I
- 42:27Speaker 5: were going, fuck once it's arriving and I watched.
- 42:29Speaker 4: The shit out of this show.
- 42:30Speaker 5: Yeah, still sitting there, sealed on my shelf. He also
- 42:33Speaker 5: the next time we came brought the Office complete, still
- 42:35Speaker 5: sitting sealed on my shelf.
- 42:37Speaker 4: I have things that I bought ten to fifteen years ago,
- 42:39Speaker 4: maybe longer, still in the plastic.
- 42:41Speaker 5: It's the idea of being able to watch them at
- 42:43Speaker 5: some point. I like, once you've watched him, I was like, oh, now,
- 42:46Speaker 5: now what are we going to watch. It's like the
- 42:47Speaker 5: idea of going, well, I get to watch it sometime. Correct, Yeah, anyway,
- 42:52Speaker 5: life of a yeah, but he's what we did watch instead.
- 42:54Speaker 4: We did watch.
- 42:56Speaker 5: Yes, Before we do that, though, we need to give
- 42:57Speaker 5: some shout outs to some beloved stone starting with the

- 43:57Speaker 4: are the pivotal reason, the primary reason, the main reason,

- 44:05Speaker 5: figure scant family on the Tears lower than the stone Cutter,
- 44:08Speaker 5: you get your name shouted out on the last episode
- 44:11Speaker 5: of the month. All right, let's get into our review,
- 44:13Speaker 5: shall we of inny teeny my mo. The original air
- 44:16Speaker 5: date of this episode was April fifth, two thousand and nine.
- 44:18Speaker 5: The number one film with the box office at this
- 44:20Speaker 5: time was Fast and Furious. Oh oh yeah, that's That'd
- 44:23Speaker 5: be the fourth one, Fast and Furious. Yeah, because the
- 44:26Speaker 5: first one was the Fast.
- 44:26Speaker 4: And there was a Fast and the Furious too, Fast
- 44:28Speaker 4: and Furious, the Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift. Yeah, Fast
- 44:31Speaker 4: and Furious Fast and that's so confusing, just Fast and Furious.
- 44:35Speaker 4: It's only rivaled by the Rambo series. Yeah, because the
- 44:40Speaker 4: first one is first Placebo, First Blood, Plart two, Rambo three,
- 44:44Speaker 4: the Just Rambos, then Rambo, then Kip Presentable than Kid
- 44:48Speaker 4: Moe now and then Rambo last Blood, and now I
- 44:52Speaker 4: think they I've read the other day that someone was
- 44:54Speaker 4: looking at doing Rambo need Blood. I read the other
- 45:01Speaker 4: day that they we'll get someone was looking to do
- 45:02Speaker 4: a pre call just called John Rambo. Okay, except the
- 45:05Speaker 4: one that was just called Rambo was also called John Rainbo.
- 45:08Speaker 5: So I remember as a kid being confused, going, so
- 45:11Speaker 5: Rambo is not the first one?
- 45:13Speaker 4: Yeah, so win him? Is it?
- 45:14Speaker 5: So?
- 45:15Speaker 4: Is Rambo three? Actually Rainbow two first split pap three?
- 45:17Speaker 4: So so mad Max isn't what's going on here? Oh? Yeah,
- 45:22Speaker 4: that whole We could go really deep down the rabbit
- 45:26Speaker 4: hole on this, but instead let's talk about Yeah, what
- 45:29Speaker 4: what was number two at the box office?
- 45:31Speaker 5: Number two at the box offico? It was Monster's Vessus
- 45:32Speaker 5: Aliens are still up there? And the Haunting in Connecticut
- 45:35Speaker 5: was number three?
- 45:36Speaker 4: Wow, Haunting Connecticut's got got some legs. Never heard it?
- 45:40Speaker 5: Yeah, never heard of it. Halting in Connecticut was number three?
- 45:42Speaker 5: All right, So yeah, I said. April fifth, two thousand
- 45:44Speaker 5: and nine, Production code LA b F zero six, Written
- 45:46Speaker 5: by John Frink and directed by Nancy Cruz. Apparently this
- 45:49Speaker 5: episode was nominated for some awards. John Frink was nominated
- 45:52Speaker 5: for a Writer's Guild of America Award in the Animation
- 45:54Speaker 5: category in twenty ten for writing the episode The Simpsons
- 45:57Speaker 5: was the only show to be nominated in the category,
- 46:00Speaker 5: all the other nominated episodes being The Burns and the Bees,
- 46:02Speaker 5: Take My Life, Please, Got Maggie Gone?
- 46:04Speaker 4: And Wedding for Disaster. The last one was the winner.
- 46:06Speaker 4: Of course.
- 46:07Speaker 5: I was gonna say, how could Wedding for Disaster not
- 46:09Speaker 5: win at all? Right? I mean I enjoyed God making
- 46:11Speaker 5: Gone for the That was the one where she goes missing, right, Yeah,
- 46:14Speaker 5: it was like the title would imply that, yes, but
- 46:17Speaker 5: it was the one where it was the like the
- 46:18Speaker 5: treasure hunt kind of thing. That's yes, yeah, it was
- 46:20Speaker 5: the the film, the book, the fucking Tom Hanks was
- 46:24Speaker 5: in it.
- 46:24Speaker 4: What's it called? Uh? Castaway? Yes? But the Venities.
- 46:32Speaker 5: How can it be a thing where the one show
- 46:34Speaker 5: is the only show nominated in the category. It was
- 46:36Speaker 5: a numb of that animated shows that yeah, what the hell?
- 46:38Speaker 4: Yeah? How does that work?
- 46:41Speaker 5: But was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for
- 46:44Speaker 5: Outstanding Voice of a Performance for his role as Moe
- 46:47Speaker 5: in this episode, but lost to fellow Simpson's Cast Mender
- 46:49Speaker 5: cast member Dan Castelenetta for Father Knows Worst.
- 46:53Speaker 4: We haven't been that episode yet, so hopefully that one's
- 46:57Speaker 4: a good one as well. But yes so.
- 46:58Speaker 5: Written by John Frick, as I said, directed by Nancy Cruz.
- 47:01Speaker 5: The episode kicks off do we get a couch? Do
- 47:03Speaker 5: we get a catch game? We don't get talk, we don't.
- 47:05Speaker 4: Get a board gag, but we do get a couch.
- 47:06Speaker 4: I actually didn't mind the couch gag.
- 47:08Speaker 5: In this one. The family is drawn in on a
- 47:09Speaker 5: series of animation cells they flip down onto the Screenhomer's
- 47:12Speaker 5: naked until March pulls down one last sheet and it's
- 47:14Speaker 5: his clothes. Goodness back when actually animated with cells. I'm
- 47:19Speaker 5: sure they do that anymore. It's all the computer. So
- 47:21Speaker 5: the episode kicks off with Homer watching the hockey. Maggy
- 47:25Speaker 5: wants to him to read Pack the Bunny the book,
- 47:28Speaker 5: but he's too interested in watching the important mid Atlantic
- 47:31Speaker 5: Hockey League Conference semifinal do over game. It's in its
- 47:33Speaker 5: seventh overtime. Is the sesame Street on ice carricters are
- 47:36Speaker 5: waiting to get on, but basically it's just taking the
- 47:38Speaker 5: mickeyut of hockey, saying games go forever.
- 47:39Speaker 4: Indeed, and a lot of good natured ribbing of Canadians
- 47:42Speaker 4: as well. I mean ice hockey. I mean it's a
- 47:44Speaker 4: very North American sport, but I think Canadians tend to
- 47:46Speaker 4: enjoy it a bit more than Yes. Indeed, yeah, as
- 47:50Speaker 4: our paler Pat Right would probably explain to us.
- 47:52Speaker 5: Yeah, but although he also likes football, he's like the
- 47:53Speaker 5: star quarterback of his town.
- 47:55Speaker 4: Well, of course he is. It's is very alpha male,
- 47:57Speaker 4: he is, indeed. Yeah.
- 47:59Speaker 5: Marge turns it off though, and she says, you're specially
- 48:01Speaker 5: spending time with your daughter, you know, not watching hockey,
- 48:03Speaker 5: and he says, I will when it's not sports season, joping,
- 48:05Speaker 5: It's always sports season. Four figure discount is brought to

- 48:35Speaker 5: actually taking the kids for Elliott's birthday, part of his
- 48:37Speaker 5: president of taking them to see Disney on ice in Melbourne.
- 48:42Speaker 4: He can go one of two ways.
- 48:43Speaker 5: They can either really enjoy the fact that they're seeing
- 48:46Speaker 5: all these Disney characters on ice, or they could be
- 48:48Speaker 5: bored shitless just watching people skating around.
- 48:51Speaker 4: I feel like one of the sort of tricks they're
- 48:52Speaker 4: going to be doing, whether you know, do the pin wheel.
- 48:56Speaker 5: But there's only so many tricks you can do, right,
- 48:59Speaker 5: how many tricks for snow white possibly do on skates?
- 49:02Speaker 5: We shall soon find out. Yeah, And the problem is
- 49:05Speaker 5: I showed them like a quick click on YouTube of
- 49:07Speaker 5: what it might look like, and that one had McQueen.
- 49:09Speaker 5: Isn't it like McQueen?
- 49:10Speaker 4: Oh okay fuck.
- 49:11Speaker 5: If this one doesn't have light McQueen or Alei's gonna worry.
- 49:13Speaker 4: But it's like McQueen. So he just goes McQueen, doesn't
- 49:17Speaker 4: say like the McQueen, just is McQueen McQueen? Yeah, wow,
- 49:19Speaker 4: okay cow.
- 49:22Speaker 5: But he puts the He puts on the TV again
- 49:25Speaker 5: to check the score, but it's over and they don't
- 49:27Speaker 5: say the score. I actually had a an example of
- 49:29Speaker 5: this going. We're walking back from the movies yesterday and
- 49:32Speaker 5: we're walking past the Sporting Globe and we wanted to
- 49:35Speaker 5: see the score of the football was almost finished. It
- 49:37Speaker 5: was Collingwood versus Melbourne ten minutes ago. And we're looking
- 49:41Speaker 5: through the window and they're just showing replayoff, the replay out,
- 49:43Speaker 5: the replay, and I'm.
- 49:44Speaker 4: Like, did we just in the fucking score? Nicholas like,
- 49:47Speaker 4: hurry up. I'm like waiting for the score.
- 49:50Speaker 5: Homie here is waiting for the score. They don't tell it.
- 49:51Speaker 5: They just sort of say what's coming up next to
- 49:53Speaker 5: yad YadA, yadda.
- 49:54Speaker 4: He says, you're very akin to Wow, I'll never let
- 49:56Speaker 4: her show that one again.
- 49:57Speaker 5: Yes, said I'll never know the score, as he's hitting
- 49:59Speaker 5: his lap top of various websites saying they know the score.
- 50:02Speaker 5: I can actually buy into Homer still being in the
- 50:04Speaker 5: mentality of because he grew up in the era where
- 50:06Speaker 5: you didn't get to go on the internet, right, Yes,
- 50:08Speaker 5: having the mentality of well if I don't if the
- 50:10Speaker 5: TV doesn't tell me, I'm never going to know. I
- 50:11Speaker 5: can believe Homer, a nine year old guy in two
- 50:13Speaker 5: thousand and I would still not think I'll go on
- 50:16Speaker 5: the internet to check. Yeah, but do you have memories
- 50:18Speaker 5: because when I was a kid, increasingly fewer, But yeah,
- 50:21Speaker 5: go ahead. Even though I was a kid in the nineties,
- 50:22Speaker 5: we didn't have the internet, right, So if you want
- 50:24Speaker 5: to know the footy score, either had to turn on
- 50:26Speaker 5: the radio or wait for the news to give you
- 50:27Speaker 5: an update that's right, or sometimes you might remember this.
- 50:30Speaker 5: You'd watch the footy and they go if you don't
- 50:32Speaker 5: want to score, look away now, and had to play
- 50:34Speaker 5: that song right on the tip of do you remember.
- 50:38Speaker 4: That by Diesels? Always whenever I hear that song, I'm like, oh,
- 50:42Speaker 4: it's the footy score. It was well played by yeah,
- 50:47Speaker 4: whichever channel was doing at the time, usually Channel seven. Yeah.
- 50:49Speaker 5: And this other guy, I think his name was Scotty.
- 50:51Speaker 5: Someone had the glasses on, Scott Palmer. Scott Palmer. Yeah,
- 50:54Speaker 5: he'd be given the updates to be like, I don't
- 50:56Speaker 5: know scores, look away now right on.
- 50:58Speaker 4: The tip Martin palms plant good sports journey that guy
- 51:02Speaker 4: was he?
- 51:02Speaker 5: Yeah, Yeah, So Marge then says I'll tell you the score,
- 51:06Speaker 5: and he's like, always gonna be high point of our marriage.
- 51:08Speaker 5: If you tell me this hockey score. She says, no,
- 51:10Speaker 5: your daughter barely knows you. And he disagrees, and he says,
- 51:13Speaker 5: come to daddy, And she goes to Santa's Little Helper
- 51:15Speaker 5: and he's actually good with her. He takes her outside.
- 51:16Speaker 5: We'll change the nappy. You can change the nappy. Yeah, YadA, YadA, yadda.
- 51:19Speaker 5: But the homer is taking Maggie in the pram as
- 51:21Speaker 5: we call it here in Australia, not the stroller, the pram.
- 51:24Speaker 6: Look, Merge, it's just what you want me, spending the
- 51:27Speaker 6: day with muggsy Maggie. Marge, you're not naggy. You just
- 51:32Speaker 6: set the bar impossibly high?
- 51:34Speaker 4: Can you always bring a sweater from Eddie?
- 51:36Speaker 6: Impossibly high?
- 51:37Speaker 5: Feels a bit King of Queens, it does, indeed. Yeah,
- 51:40Speaker 5: not to throw Kevin under the bus or something like
- 51:42Speaker 5: that stereotypical sitcom gag, isn't it You.
- 51:45Speaker 4: Can substitute according to Jim or something like that. But yeah, yeah,
- 51:48Speaker 4: that kind of show.
- 51:49Speaker 5: Where the guy doesn't deserve. It's always fat obnoxious husband.
- 51:53Speaker 5: I wouldn't say that, King Quinsno, but fat husband with
- 51:56Speaker 5: smoking babe of a wife.
- 51:58Speaker 4: Why does she put up with it? Dad? Bought them
- 52:00Speaker 4: hot wife. Yeah, why was that? Why was that the thing?
- 52:03Speaker 5: It's why is that the thing? Why is that always
- 52:05Speaker 5: the go to? Is it because our guys can relate and.
- 52:08Speaker 4: Guys can relate. And I don't mean this to sound
- 52:12Speaker 4: I don't mean this in a bad way. Women can
- 52:15Speaker 4: feel morally superior. I can have a bit vicarious moral superior.
- 52:18Speaker 4: It's like, that's just like my husband.
- 52:21Speaker 5: It's either fat husband or dumb husband. Sometimes both nuts
- 52:25Speaker 5: and gum to get it last. But they go for
- 52:28Speaker 5: their little day of first of all sands to help.
- 52:30Speaker 5: It brings the milk and it's cold whatever. But then
- 52:32Speaker 5: they go on their little daddy door to day and
- 52:35Speaker 5: they go to lad Lads. I don't really like Maggie's
- 52:37Speaker 5: just having a big smile on her face looking up,
- 52:38Speaker 5: but a dad, You've got a donut in the hand.
- 52:40Speaker 5: And they arrive at the car park that's is reserved
- 52:42Speaker 5: for Homer Simpson. This is where he goes every single morning,
- 52:44Speaker 5: and it turns out to be Mo's. So there was
- 52:47Speaker 5: one question about this episode. So is how am I
- 52:51Speaker 5: going to Moe's every day and spending the day there?
- 52:56Speaker 5: What's he doing with Maggie when he goes he's not
- 52:58Speaker 5: going to work.
- 52:59Speaker 4: What's the story. Well, as you said earlier, yeah, continuity
- 53:03Speaker 4: is not really does he have a job for the
- 53:08Speaker 4: purpose of this episode, for the purpose of this twenty
- 53:10Speaker 4: two minutes, No, no he does.
- 53:12Speaker 5: No, he does not for the purpose of this story. No,
- 53:15Speaker 5: his job in this episode is looking after Maggie. Yes,
- 53:17Speaker 5: so he takes it, tells her to learn her numbers
- 53:21Speaker 5: by playing with the billiard balls on the table. You
- 53:23Speaker 5: do that whilst, I'll get happier and happier and then
- 53:25Speaker 5: sadder and sadder, which is usually how it goes when
- 53:27Speaker 5: you're drinking. The thing is, though, we are another one
- 53:29Speaker 5: of those distraction scenes because Moe's talking to Homer just
- 53:32Speaker 5: after that, and Meggan's in the background, like juggling the
- 53:34Speaker 5: billiard balls, and it's like just filling space for the
- 53:36Speaker 5: second filling space. It is distracting. I again had to
- 53:38Speaker 5: push Paus and go back and I'm like, I wasn't
- 53:40Speaker 5: listening to them, I was watching her. But Moe discovers
- 53:43Speaker 5: is cleaning the place up, and misdiscovers there's a window here,
- 53:45Speaker 5: so it's a dirty wall. It's actually a window behind
- 53:48Speaker 5: the dirty wall. The grime and it's to a playground outside,
- 53:51Speaker 5: and it says Megane, you can go outside there whilst
- 53:53Speaker 5: I'm in here drinking her first enabling then the barfls
- 53:56Speaker 5: I go kick out of all the bar flires, just
- 53:58Speaker 5: chatting to Maggie.
- 53:59Speaker 4: Hey, it's ok.
- 54:01Speaker 5: It's kind of like when my kids arrive home. They
- 54:03Speaker 5: see the cats my kids have. They are not able
- 54:06Speaker 5: to see a cat and not want to try and
- 54:08Speaker 5: pick it up. The cats see the kids now and
- 54:09Speaker 5: just run in fear.
- 54:11Speaker 4: Some adults are like that, as Dandols does whenever I
- 54:15Speaker 4: come over to record. It's like, okay, before we hit record,
- 54:17Speaker 4: I got to go pick up these kittens.
- 54:19Speaker 5: And one of the I'm just like being picked up,
- 54:20Speaker 5: and guys like, she will you picked up? She's like,
- 54:23Speaker 5: and you're like, just shut up and enjoy the cuddle.
- 54:27Speaker 4: My seduction technique since goodness knows when.
- 54:29Speaker 5: Yeah, but they're all waving to make it outside the
- 54:31Speaker 5: window whatnot. They're all distracted by her. They're not listening
- 54:33Speaker 5: to mo. So he fires a shotgun. He explains why
- 54:36Speaker 5: why he is cleaning the joint up.
- 54:37Speaker 4: I do I do enjoy that kind of passive aggressive Hey,
- 54:41Speaker 4: ask me what's going on? I suppose you guys are
- 54:44Speaker 4: wondering why I'm still cleaning the bar.
- 54:47Speaker 5: But now he explains that on Friday night, he's usual
- 54:50Speaker 5: fire night. He's at the public library, just surfing the
- 54:52Speaker 5: internet with the occasional water break of warm and rusty
- 54:55Speaker 5: water from the drink tap, and he found an intelligence
- 54:57Speaker 5: sophisticated woman who hadn't heard all he's not not joke.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Orange who all right, more give it a punchline, nice
- 55:04Speaker 1: and easy, Orange, You glad I didn't say banana. The
- 55:12Speaker 1: gargoyle has landed.
- 55:14Speaker 5: This is like they go to knock not joke. When
- 55:15Speaker 5: you're a kid, it's the first one you say, and
- 55:19Speaker 5: you don't quite understand. When you're a kid, you don't
- 55:20Speaker 5: quite get why it's funny. But people laugh when you
- 55:22Speaker 5: say it, and you're like, allright, I'm gonna say this
- 55:23Speaker 5: all the time, don't you got it? I didn't say banana.
- 55:26Speaker 5: Orange Glad, it didn't say banana. Everyone says this gaggle
- 55:29Speaker 5: is once in their life, right.
- 55:30Speaker 4: Yeah, it's not that great. That's not great.
- 55:31Speaker 5: But and you know, when the kid's doing it, you're like, ah,
- 55:34Speaker 5: you're doing the orange gag.
- 55:35Speaker 4: I'll go with it. I'll roll with it. Yeah, let
- 55:37Speaker 4: him feel like that. Let's not you cut this kid
- 55:39Speaker 4: off at the knees. You know they may turn into
- 55:42Speaker 4: you know, Jim Carry or Romin Whim somewhere down the line. Yeah.
- 55:44Speaker 4: And if you snuff that flame out with like come
- 55:47Speaker 4: up with better material, kid, then like, oh yeah, they'll
- 55:50Speaker 4: never be funny again.
- 55:51Speaker 5: There was one Ali got me the other day, like
- 55:54Speaker 5: genuinely got me. He goes, not knock, can guess who's there?
- 55:57Speaker 4: Boo boo?
- 55:57Speaker 5: Who don't cry, it's just a duke.
- 55:59Speaker 4: And I was like, no, bad, solid, solid, good delivery.
- 56:03Speaker 5: I'm like, you know what, kid, I didn't see that
- 56:05Speaker 5: one coming got me?
- 56:08Speaker 4: Or you got me the dad?
- 56:10Speaker 5: What's your name? I went, Brendan, what's this? No, what's
- 56:13Speaker 5: in my hand?
- 56:14Speaker 4: Nothing? Brendan nothing, and then runs off and I'm like,
- 56:16Speaker 4: you little shit ed you got me again. It's like
- 56:21Speaker 4: hook line and sinker that he ran off. That's good.
- 56:26Speaker 4: Always leave them more, They're always leave them wanting more.
- 56:28Speaker 5: Indeed, But I did find it quite charming and sweet
- 56:31Speaker 5: that Moe was using the orange of banana, not not.
- 56:35Speaker 5: You know, he's so I know, what's the term, he's
- 56:38Speaker 5: so out of practice with dating and whatnot. It's just
- 56:41Speaker 5: like he's just going to refer to things going by
- 56:43Speaker 5: the rule book. You know, he heard some you know,
- 56:46Speaker 5: some pick up artist tips about you know, be funny. Yeah,
- 56:50Speaker 5: you don't have to be handsome, you don't have to
- 56:51Speaker 5: be you know the.
- 56:52Speaker 4: Six six six of six feet, six pack, six figure
- 56:55Speaker 4: and gum just make him laugh a little. The whole
- 56:59Speaker 4: little serve you well in your in your future relationship.
- 57:02Speaker 4: So with the body knows that knock joke.
- 57:04Speaker 5: One of the things Nichola says, one thing I always
- 57:06Speaker 5: found charming about you was from the get go you
- 57:08Speaker 5: weren't afraid to just use dad jokes. She's like, that
- 57:12Speaker 5: were so bad, But I just loved you for it
- 57:14Speaker 5: because you're just like you just didn't care.
- 57:18Speaker 4: That's just didn't know any better jokes material.
- 57:24Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, but he says, the gargoyle haslandic because she
- 57:27Speaker 5: likes the joke. He says he's funny, and he checks
- 57:29Speaker 5: that she's not just some creepy guy in the library
- 57:30Speaker 5: much like he is. But he says, there's creepy A
- 57:32Speaker 5: guy next to him turns out to be a crazy
- 57:33Speaker 5: cat lady. She says, you know, I'm not a guy
- 57:35Speaker 5: a woman. We have a cat together. She had babies.
- 57:37Speaker 5: He's one of them. Now I've got this is me
- 57:40Speaker 5: when Mo's talking about just going somewhere to go on
- 57:43Speaker 5: the internet. We couldn't afford the internet when the first
- 57:45Speaker 5: was a thing, right, you know, just didn't have a computer,
- 57:47Speaker 5: couldn't afford it. And so I'd go to my uncle
- 57:49Speaker 5: Darren's house because he had the Internet, and it's like
- 57:51Speaker 5: so cool, you know, you dial up, and he'd go
- 57:54Speaker 5: to bed and nap, and I'm like, I'm going to
- 57:55Speaker 5: the Internet for a couple of hours. And I remember
- 57:57Speaker 5: the first things I looked up was I was Big
- 57:59Speaker 5: Wrestling Fantasy. There was a wrestler called Caine. I was like,
- 58:01Speaker 5: came without his mask and I was like, oh my god,
- 58:03Speaker 5: that's him without his mask on the Internet's amazing. And
- 58:06Speaker 5: of course, as you're you know, you're twelve year kid,
- 58:07Speaker 5: lookup naked ladies. The problem was I didn't understand the
- 58:10Speaker 5: idea of a browsing history. And then Na Darian like
- 58:16Speaker 5: later on, come over whatever, and he's like, so Stephanie mmahn, Hey,
- 58:20Speaker 5: Stephanie mumhann sable. I was like, yeah, they're leading wrestler's
- 58:24Speaker 5: like yeah, look good with their clothes on. I was like,
- 58:27Speaker 5: oh no, uncle, oh no. But I think my dad
- 58:33Speaker 5: wasn't angry. It was just like, thank, well, he's looking
- 58:34Speaker 5: at naked ladies.
- 58:35Speaker 4: That's at least. It wasn't like Cain naked. Caine without
- 58:41Speaker 4: his mask, came without his pace. There's anything wrong with that? Well?
- 58:44Speaker 5: No, of course, I think my dad was more proud
- 58:47Speaker 5: than angry. But most of he would do anything to
- 58:52Speaker 5: chat to Maya except by a computer himself. And he
- 58:55Speaker 5: sends she sends him a pick of her and actually
- 59:00Speaker 5: of my favorite moments, dare I click?
- 59:01Speaker 4: No, I dances?
- 59:03Speaker 5: Yes, I dance, and then he clicks on it. She's
- 59:07Speaker 5: the photo from Lego Land. She looks she's beautiful and
- 59:10Speaker 5: in proportion. Yeah, and he shows the guys. That seems
- 59:14Speaker 5: like a really mean thing to say, and in proportion.
- 59:18Speaker 5: He shows the guy the photo and there's now he's
- 59:20Speaker 5: turned to send the photo. He gives it the old
- 59:22Speaker 5: two thousand and Night photoshop job. At first, then he
- 59:25Speaker 5: realized you can't build a relationship on a lie. The
- 59:26Speaker 5: lies come later. Yeah, great line.
- 59:28Speaker 4: I did enjoy that.
- 59:29Speaker 5: And she thinks he's cute and he's just dancing around.
- 59:31Speaker 5: He's all happy, and I felt felt good for Mo.
- 59:34Speaker 5: He's being honest and she likes him.
- 59:36Speaker 4: He's saying a bit of the old Lewis Carroll stuff.
- 59:39Speaker 1: Kelley, Yeah, mose radfree, Devin, Oh well hey you mij
- 59:46Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, Homer's here or you want Homer.
- 59:48Speaker 4: I'm sorry, I thought you.
- 59:49Speaker 1: Meant Himler Heinrich Himmler, you know the guy who invented
- 59:52Speaker 1: the Heimlich manure. Two different people with a boat here,
- 59:56Speaker 1: and neither one is your husband. This press conference is over.
- 59:59Speaker 5: We cut to Maggie outside being threatened by her new friends.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: Yes, the evil.
- 1:00:06Speaker 5: Evil babies, evil baby gang. So explain to me, is
- 1:00:10Speaker 5: this a playground or a daycare? Sen, I don't know,
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: a random outside area where this baby's unattended. That's what
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: the hell is going with no attendance, There are no adults.
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: Adults are the ones the barflies watching from that.
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: She's fucking random babies in an outdoor playground. I couldn't
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: work out what was going on here, not a whole
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: what happened other than Maggie was just the target of
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: these baby bullies. Opened to the Chinese restaurant that was
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: next door. I got no idea. Man, it was outside
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: that window. Now, what the hell in this episode? Is
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: just out several windows.
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: But she's burrowing her head into her daddy assigned her
- 1:00:40Speaker 5: baby's baby is happy and confident. Of course, the opposite
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: MOA was then cleaning himself up. He's putting beer in
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: his hair and his snaps under his arm. She arrives
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: at eight oh three as opposed to eight is calling
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: her a liar, and he she's revealed to be a
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: little person.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Oh you're a little person. I know, I'm sorry, I
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: didn't mean that. What's the correct term?
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: Little person?
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: Whoa look at me being played?
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: And he quickly removes the dwarf tossing banner and the
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: Little Women book We come out from commercial and Moe asks,
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: is this you know? This is Benjamin Button kind of
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: deal as you were mentioning earlier. He says, your picture
- 1:01:15Speaker 5: made you look more life sized, and she said took
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: out Lego land because she was not confident either. She
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: was worried that he might like not like the real her,
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: and he says, no, you're the best thing ever coming
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: to this. Barbecides the cable, which and I'm not gonna
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: stealing you from the Chinese restaurant next door, and as
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: we get the reference to the Chinese guy, I think
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: he says, I see you're watching ESPN or whatever.
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: You never did any sort of online dating, did you
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: mean you?
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: No?
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: No, not online I think.
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: As a joke when I was like a teenager, we
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: made fake profiles and I was getting like I felt
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: bad upward because like I was getting genuine like late
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: thirty year olds going hey, we should catch up, and
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: I'm like, I'm sorry, no thanks, Like I just do
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: I reply?
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: What do I do? I felt bade the song? Why
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: do you have to be such a heartbreaker?
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I know right, No, you go, I did it
- 1:01:57Speaker 5: a bit and not when I chat to girls on
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: like MSN, Messenger and stuff.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: But I didn't. That's not really online date.
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: It's not online day not. But Nick and I were
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: together before Tinder was a thing. Yes, I still don't
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: understand whether swipe left is swipe right, which I always
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: keep messing that up as well. Luckily I've got it
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: right the first time because I still swipe if you
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: I'm swiping swiped right withou.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: I think if you swipe right, that's that's a positive,
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: that's like, oh yes, because if you're swipe why left,
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: that you're just sillt of going through the pages of like.
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: And whit takes more effort. I guess, God, we're really.
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: Showing our age here. I mean, but let's just double check.
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: What's we're showing that we're happily together in a relationship.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: It is not you and I, but well indicate that
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: one finds someone attractive by moving one finger to the
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: right across then image of them on a touch screen.
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: He's the quote I swiped right, but sadly for me,
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: she swiped left. Oh so yes, if you if you
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: swipe right, I was like that downer, he's a swipe right.
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: Yeah that means and I'm like, wow, what he left?
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: But what I'm what I was leading to was, you know,
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: you tend to put your best foot forward or your
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: best face forward, shall we say? I mean you look
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: through all your selfies and various lands like, ah, that's
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: a good angle. Oh it looks like I've only got
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: one chin in that one, or I've got my angles.
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: Just right and titter profile has to be Apparently if
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: you put a Simpson's reference in there, it goes a
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: long way for getting people like our age.
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what we heard from our pow, Jordan Mulman.
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: Richie that right now he's married. Yeah oh yeah as
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: a result, yeah, living in Finland. Got a horse, yeah,
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: hung like one, but I didn't go that far. But
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: tell me about his Pets's got a horse the horse.

- 1:04:14Speaker 5: how Mog says, I'm getting the car seat and you think,
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: oh no, no ah, he took it out to save
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: on the save petrol, save gas as he calls it. Yeah,
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: he's gonna put it in now because they're going to
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: do the town.
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: And oh it's nice.
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: So he goes to Luigi's, who reveals here that he
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: changed his name to Moe to save three hundred dollars
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: on the sign of Mos. But then Luigi doesn't see
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: her at first, thinks at the table for one face
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: in the wall. He says, no, Oh, she's so beautiful,
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: but so far away. It's like, that's awkward. But now
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: the third base points and they're having a big, big
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: smooth She says he's a good kisser. He says he
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: practices his kissing by siphoning gas out of other cars.
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: He never tasted super premium anywhere half as good as.
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: Her is mostly kicking goals. I would I would say.
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: I think, and I do like the fact that they
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: have rekindled great thirteen seasons later, but they're now engaged.
- 1:04:59Speaker 5: To me, I think Mo deserves happiness. This is exactly
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: what he's proven that he can. But he's a romantic,
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: nice guy.
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: That is precisely what I wrote in my notes. I
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: said Moe does deserve to be happy. Yep. Yeah, he's
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: very curmudginally, but I think, you know, essentially he's got
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: a good heart.
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: Yeah, we've seen enough positives from Monou to know that well,
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: first of all, him and my they work well together.
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: I kind of really, I was kind of sad when
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: it ended. I went, ah, would have been nice if
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: they stayed together. Mo deserves it's a nice change for
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: the character, a bit of happiness in his life.
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: But as we said, it is a nice learning curve
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: for learning curve theing. That's that's precisely the right way
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: of saying it.
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: Yeah, so Moe's now happy at the bar. So he's
- 1:05:40Speaker 5: never felt like this before, Like his heart wants to
- 1:05:42Speaker 5: do her and they all want to meet her. But
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: then he has the vision of them pushing around in
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: like the little trolley or whatever, and bucket, bucket, that's
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: it's not bucket, that's what it is. Yeah, And he says,
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: how would you treat someone who's dyna mine? But they're
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: a little bit different, And they said, what do you mean?
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: Like Homer, how he can't remember limericks and they mock
- 1:05:56Speaker 5: him for it. He starts crying and was like, well,
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: I'm not going to be doing this then, well, yes, exactly.
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: Sem pretty cruel, I mean, especially when it's pretty hard
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: to remember aabba dumbass. Yeah, that's the Limerick structure.
- 1:06:06Speaker 5: Meanwhile, the babies are outside having a fighting ritual where
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: they got the drums going, and Kearney's son's about to
- 1:06:12Speaker 5: beat up Maggie. Is this where he comes in with
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: the bottles or is that a I think it might
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: be a different time, this one where he shits in
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: his nappy? Did you see that bit? So he's coming
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: in for the kill and he sort of pauses for
- 1:06:21Speaker 5: a second and goes relieves. You're like, that's right, shit's
- 1:06:24Speaker 5: his nappy. I'm like, I appreciate that. And then because
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: that kid's got a shit, Oh.
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely yeah. I was watching one of my trashy
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: rally shows the other night, this one about a polyamorous
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: family raising and now they've just had a baby. No
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: one knows who the father is, not having kids myself
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: and only sort of doing cursory baby city duties. This
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: kid just went it just did a fart that just
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: or it was taking a shit that just seemed to
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: go forever, like a good ten second. It's like Donald
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: Luck style, Holy moly, and then followed by imagine how
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: to change that? I can only imagine. I only want
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: to thee I will only ever imagine it. That's correct,
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: i'ven't changed that many nappies in my life. I haven't
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: you Okay, no, I did it. I did a few
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: four uh my sister's kids, and I was like, it's
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: always an issue. That's a lot of shit.
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: It's always an issue. Until you get ship on your hand.
- 1:07:17Speaker 5: Once you been, Once you had shit on your hand,
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: You're like, oh, it's done. Okay, Yeah, it's not that bad.
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: It's like getting COVID. It's like, okay, well I got
- 1:07:25Speaker 5: it now. Yeah, seal has been broken. But Homer arrives,
- 1:07:29Speaker 5: rescues Maggie once again, doesn't realize he's rescuing her. He's
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: just but he does there. So just prior mo Moe's
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: was full, I assumed it. I thought it was nighttime
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: because everyone's there, Homer's crying, and then the next scene,
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: Meggie's outside in daylight being I can see this.
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: Episode must have really frustrated. No, no, no, I mean
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: not in a bad way, but with all these sort
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: of continuity errors and what's going on.
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: And that's the thing. Watching the episode, I didn't think
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: about it. Doing the review, going to run through, I'm like, what,
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: it doesn't make sense, But like watching it, I didn't
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: think about it.
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: Sign of a good story.
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: Yeah, so Homer is rescued it once again, as I said,
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: and he says, should be back tomorrow. Don't worry, guys.
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: So Maggie then she's not gonna eat. She's feeling scared.
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: Bart plays the tune on the bong, goes the same
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: way to try and soothe it and relax and try
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: and eat her dinner. Marge us what's up with her?
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: To Homer and he's like, I don't know. You've been
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: spending so much time with it. No I haven't. Oh, yes,
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: that's what you think I am. Then we see the
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: ad for the prying I surveillance And the only thing
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: better than us watching your children is you watching your children.
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: We know that's not gonna happen. Have you ever been
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: Uh there's a spider, baby monitors and nanny cams. We
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: had the baby monitor because it's just it's essentially yeah,
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: so you see what you kids doing when you're in bed.
- 1:08:40Speaker 5: I've never had spy cams or anything like that. I mean,
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: the ones I've got installed, I haven't gone to collect yet.
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: But oh okay, so oh god. No baby cams, just
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: you know, cams hidden showers and what not. Basically, so mate,
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: Marge's hired or high. She's ordered this by Cam to
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: put in Maggie's little what's it called the boat and
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: her hair so she can spy on why Maggie is
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: feeling so sad? What's going on with Maggie? Then Mo
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: drops off my after another date. Looks at the tree.
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: It's a bit small in there, right, And you didn't
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: think I really think I lived in a tree?
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:09:14Speaker 5: A lot of people live in trees. Tarzan Benstein bears
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: flood victims, like.
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: A lot of stuff in this episode, Like, huh, HiT's
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: different twenty five? Yeah it does.
- 1:09:25Speaker 5: Yeah, so she I like this, right, She takes her
- 1:09:29Speaker 5: shoes and socks off, and she gives me the remote
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: for the TV. I'm like, that to me is a
- 1:09:33Speaker 5: sign of, you know, welcome to my home. You've got
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: the control of the television. Yeah, it's just it seems basic.
- 1:09:38Speaker 5: But given the guy the remote, that's a that's cool.
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I like that, you know.
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: She's you put something on TV, turns it on. Unfortunately
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: it's Willie Wonka and the op Olympics. So he turns
- 1:09:46Speaker 5: that off and she wonders, why haven't you ever introduced
- 1:09:48Speaker 5: me to your friends, and so he suggests a double
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: date with the Simpsons because they're the least judgmental, and
- 1:09:53Speaker 5: then she just what do you think this bit where
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: she pretends to be a doll?
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: I thought it was funny, but so random. It was
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: very random. It came out of nowhere. I think when
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: I saw that, it felt like they were mocking that
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: felt it felt like, you know, she's got a bit
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: of self aware well, yes, it's actually yeah, a willingness
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: to sort of look, yeah, this is the situation. We
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: might as well have as much fun with it as
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: we can, which is why a little later on, admittedly
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: mo overdoes it when he starts, you know, reeling off
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: the the little person gags or the size related gags.
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: I'm not trying to victim blame or anything like that,
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: but because mo isn't he is in the wrong, or
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: he overdoes it at the very least. But I was
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: kind of like, you open the door here, you know,
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: you sort of said, well, okay.
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: Well if he left it at the first joke though,
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: because she says little little woman and he gets as
- 1:10:44Speaker 5: long as he's like a small wedding and she laughs,
- 1:10:46Speaker 5: and then he just keeps going and going. Yeah, that's true,
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: but that's yea, as I said.
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: That's just over overegging the pudding, because you know, I
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: think once you I alluded to this before, when you
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: when you're in a stage in a relationship, it's like,
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: oh we can we can poke under each other, you know,
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: one of always say it's like the first part is
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: more important than the first kiss. You know, oh we're relaxed. Yeah, okay,
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: And it's.
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: Like, oh, you do do that thing best, just drop
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: it on the first date and to see what happens.
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: And then there's no second dy based on how I
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: find Plus you're blacklisted from Tinder. Uh. Again, not to
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: not to blame Myra, say that she's in the wrong
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: and everything like that, but it's like, oh, you you
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: sort of gave us some indications like no.
- 1:11:31Speaker 5: This is not a no go area, but yeah, modus
- 1:11:34Speaker 5: goes too deep, goes too deep into the But they
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: arrive at the Simpsons house and Homer has a mechanical question.
- 1:11:43Speaker 6: Perhaps this is inappropriate, but I have a mechanical question
- 1:11:48Speaker 6: while the kids are out of the room that I
- 1:11:50Speaker 6: can't help wondering about. In a nuclear power plant, just
- 1:11:55Speaker 6: how is nuclear energy turned into electricity.
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: If I remember my high school physics, the controlled nuclear
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: reaction creates steam which powers a turbine.
- 1:12:06Speaker 6: Man, old man slapper ring on that.
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: I really liked Homer's, you know, put a slapper ring
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: on that. Even Homer, you know, the the goofball. He's
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: not robbed by her height.
- 1:12:19Speaker 4: He recognizes the value, yeah, the value of.
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: Her for who she is exactly. And Marge then takes
- 1:12:25Speaker 5: out the DVD. I'm assuming, so, how the fuck does
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: this work so that they they record it and then
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: you got to send it away and they send you
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: back a DVD of the footage.
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I think I think we're a little further along
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: in the whole DVD technology thing at this stage.
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: But look that doesn't make so you so records it
- 1:12:40Speaker 5: to the camera, but then you're got to send that
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: camera away and they send you back a DVD.
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess the USB cables and all that kind
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: of stuff went again. Okay, how much fucking timer transport? Anyway,
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: last question.
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: She's got a DVD of the footage apparently, and she's
- 1:12:55Speaker 5: about to put it on, and Homer says, you's got
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: to come and have dinner, So she leaves it on
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: and she's going to have dinner. We see the babies.
- 1:13:00Speaker 5: I think this is where we see the bottle. He's
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: approaching Maggie with the bottle. I think that's here when
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: out the carnival and Homer is drinking water at the
- 1:13:07Speaker 5: clown gun thing and his.
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: Head did his head expand? So did it? Yeah? It's
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: I thought it was so stupid. So like he's drinking.
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: Basically getting comparisons here of what Margin's relationship with Homer's
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: like and what MOA's like with Maya. So he wins
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: her the big toy and homest too busy fill in
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: his mouth with the water because he's thirsty from the
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: clown thing. But in the background, his head's expanding and
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: getting bigger and bigger, And I was like, that's.
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: Why do we need that? It's just stupidity. Also not
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: right for this particular episode or even this particular phase
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: of this.
- 1:13:40Speaker 5: I don't like that aspect of Simpson's at all anyway,
- 1:13:42Speaker 5: particularly do a lot with mister Burns. I've mentioned time
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: and time again where they just unrealistic.
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: Body body expectations. It's just stupid.
- 1:13:49Speaker 5: So then they've got the photo booth seen as well
- 1:13:51Speaker 5: so margin Homers. All their photos are sad because home's
- 1:13:54Speaker 5: drunk and then the cops arrive and whatnot. But Maya
- 1:13:57Speaker 5: and most are really.
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: Sweet and doing the pulling faces, the goofy face. Yeah.
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: So Moe then asked Maya to marry him, and he says,
- 1:14:05Speaker 5: nothing's made more sense to me than this in my life,
- 1:14:08Speaker 5: except for keeping all the Netflix DVDs and telling the
- 1:14:10Speaker 5: post office that have lost them. And I thought, what
- 1:14:12Speaker 5: a time old Netflix shout out, yeah Netflix, before it
- 1:14:15Speaker 5: was Netflix, Netflix and Jelli Yeah, I still remember when
- 1:14:18Speaker 5: Netflix came around and all the video stores were saying
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: that'll never last. And it got to the point where
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: you started seeing video easy booths around supermarket stuff.
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: I remember seeing that going, oh the times they are changing,
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: And I just the appeal of going to a booth
- 1:14:34Speaker 5: and getting a DVD out and returning to the booth
- 1:14:36Speaker 5: just never.
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: It just never appealed to me.
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: No, I liked going and choosing. I don't want to
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: touch it. Just it sucked the fun out of it
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: for me. I liked going to visit the video store
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: well yeah.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: Because you know, you're looking at the front cover and
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: then you're looking at the back cup getting a little
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: more information.
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: You probably see that on the screen as well. But
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: it wasn't going to save me though, just I wanted
- 1:14:53Speaker 5: to go see Chris at the video store and talk
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: about wrestling with him, and you know, you just hang
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: out for a bit of a browse. Yeah, that was
- 1:14:59Speaker 5: the part of the It was the walking around browsing
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: for me. Yeah, it was just as much.
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: Fun, if not more so, than getting the actual movie
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: and taking home to watch Supermarket for Nerds. Are you
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: asking me to be your little woman?
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: Well, as long as you don't mind having a small
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: wedding and we could drink champagne out of an acorn top,
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: our first dance will be on the head of a pin.
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: There.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: I've been hugging all the good ones. I know you go,
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: but hey, keep it short.
- 1:15:34Speaker 5: Well, what's mattered though?
- 1:15:36Speaker 4: We were just having fun. I stopped having fun about
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: ten jokes ago, and you just kept going.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'll forgive me kidding. I mean cat,
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: I mean tiger, I mean save it to a tiger.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: I mean I think you should go now. Okay, I
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: screwed this up pretty bad, and I'm sorry. How long
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: do people remember things get out.
- 1:15:55Speaker 5: I've been hugging all the good ones. You go, but
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: keep it short. It's like, I laughed. These were funny because,
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: as he says, she opened the door. But you're canna
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: understand it got to the point where it felt like
- 1:16:06Speaker 5: he's blizzling. Yeah, yeah, from her perspective anyway, So she
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: tells him to leave. He apologizes and then says, how
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: long do you people remember things? And I'm like, oh,
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: mo oh, I must admit, here's what I wrote.
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: My overreacted a little.
- 1:16:20Speaker 5: That can be our thing. Sort of oh no, oh, mo.
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: That could be your thing.
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: But Moa is now sad in the bar and he
- 1:16:28Speaker 5: wants advice from Lenny and Karl, and they said, you've
- 1:16:31Speaker 5: got to make a grand, reckless gesture that could blop
- 1:16:33Speaker 5: in your face. And he says, but what about it?
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: What if it blows in my face? What doesn't matter
- 1:16:37Speaker 5: because look at your face? And it cuts to him
- 1:16:39Speaker 5: wanting doctor Hibbitt to make him a micro mo and
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: he says, no license physician would do this. I believe
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: this is the first appearance of Doctor Nixon's the movie
- 1:16:47Speaker 5: in a while, because he gets killed off in the movie.
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: Said a beloved character is going to be killed off,
- 1:16:53Speaker 5: and he says bye, everybody was when the glass hits
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: him and he dies. He's returned once again, doctor Nick
- 1:16:59Speaker 5: with the same gag. We've had this exact same gag
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: when Marge was getting the breast implants, remember, but they
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: accidentally give Krusty the breast iplants.
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: Remember.
- 1:17:07Speaker 5: Yeah, so it's just the same thing, except this time
- 1:17:09Speaker 5: mister Lago has been made shorter rather than getting his
- 1:17:13Speaker 5: transition instead of transition. Yes, so then Mae is looking
- 1:17:16Speaker 5: in the mirror and you think you come up for it.
- 1:17:18Speaker 5: Oh my god, he's actually had it done. You know,
- 1:17:20Speaker 5: his legs look gone. But no, why would you do this?
- 1:17:23Speaker 5: I haven't had anything done yet. Stands like, oh okay,
- 1:17:25Speaker 5: a nice little gag. They're a little bait and switch.
- 1:17:27Speaker 5: She says, if you have to be like her, you're
- 1:17:29Speaker 5: not seeing the real her. She just wants someone who
- 1:17:30Speaker 5: sees her for her beauty, not as short. So she
- 1:17:34Speaker 5: says that's over and she leaves, and yeah.
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: You feel bad for him, you do, absolutely? Yeah, look
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: I understand you get you get both their sides, or
- 1:17:42Speaker 4: you understand both their positions.
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: I think definitely away. Yeah, Margin finally watches the DVD
- 1:17:48Speaker 5: and I'll go here. Why is it a different day?
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: Like it should have been the same scene as the
- 1:17:53Speaker 5: previous DVDs. Can't whatever, so Homa tries to. In the video,
- 1:17:57Speaker 5: Hama tries to save Maggie from the kids, but Kenniey's
- 1:18:00Speaker 5: son starts beating him up, and then Maggie beats Kennie's
- 1:18:02Speaker 5: son up.
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: Oh do you saved me?
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: I promise that wherever you go in this world, I
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: will always be there for you. Oh Maggie, I love
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: you from the tip of your toast to the bow
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: on your hair with the red blinking late God bless
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: your mother for making you with me.
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: What'd you watch in honey, Homer Simpson, you are a
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: strong finisher.
- 1:18:28Speaker 6: I'm good at beginnings.
- 1:18:32Speaker 5: This feels like, though very late teen seasons of The Simpsons,
- 1:18:36Speaker 5: where home is just he wasn't a jerking this, but
- 1:18:38Speaker 5: he's more just careless, careless, And then he just says
- 1:18:42Speaker 5: they have him say one nice thing at the end
- 1:18:43Speaker 5: of mar was like, oh, you're so great, Homer.
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I must have been that kind of reeks of
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: that whole cliche about you know, dad say their babysitting
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: their kids. Yeah, that kind of thing.
- 1:18:52Speaker 5: I do think that they are almost acknowledging that she says,
- 1:18:56Speaker 5: you're a strong finisher. It's like, that's usually how it ends,
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: like he finishes strong and that's all that.
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a really good way of putting It's like, yeah,
- 1:19:02Speaker 4: we acknowledge that we'll let him misbehave for seventy eight
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: percent of the episode, throwing a throw a little bone
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: at the last minute, and like, oh, wow, he's actually
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: good after all. Felt it felt very look, it did
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: the trick, I guess, but it also the way it
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: was written felt very insincere. Yeah, insincere. It also just
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: felt like what was the point of that story?
- 1:19:23Speaker 5: Really, Like, you know what it was? You never saw
- 1:19:26Speaker 5: Maggie and Homer really bond. I know, he says these
- 1:19:28Speaker 5: nice things to it, but it's from her perspective though.
- 1:19:30Speaker 5: You never really see Maggie and Homer no happy together.
- 1:19:34Speaker 4: You know what I mean. It was just no, it's
- 1:19:36Speaker 4: essentially just Homer hanging out of the bar and at
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: the end of at the end of his session there,
- 1:19:41Speaker 4: he'll go pick her up from that thing. I mean,
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: it's they didn't spend any time to get's there. That's
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: not daddy daughter time. That's just like daddy time with
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: daughter adjacent.
- 1:19:47Speaker 5: Yeah, anyway, but Moa is sad at the bar, and
- 1:19:50Speaker 5: Homer says, here, you know you're on the sidelines, and
- 1:19:52Speaker 5: now you're back in the game. Someone loved you, which
- 1:19:54Speaker 5: means someone can love you once again. And later on
- 1:19:56Speaker 5: he's cleaning the bar and he looks over and he
- 1:19:57Speaker 5: sees the photo of her, and he says, who'd have
- 1:19:59Speaker 5: thought such a little one could make me feel so big?
- 1:20:01Speaker 5: Which is a veryful way to end the episode. As
- 1:20:04Speaker 5: we said, if you finished the if you finished strong, yes,
- 1:20:06Speaker 5: like Homer, Yeah, it usually leaves you thinking this episode
- 1:20:09Speaker 5: was a lot better than what it was. I actually
- 1:20:10Speaker 5: thought this was a pretty good episode based on that.
- 1:20:13Speaker 5: The way they ended it made you feel it was
- 1:20:15Speaker 5: even better.
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: Oh yes, yeah, they stuck the landing.
- 1:20:18Speaker 5: They did stick the landing indeed. Yeah, so another enjoyable episode,
- 1:20:22Speaker 5: this one. I was worried going in, but as you said,
- 1:20:25Speaker 5: they they portrayed the little woman aspect very positively and
- 1:20:30Speaker 5: handled it very carefully.
- 1:20:32Speaker 4: Yeah. Look, a little bit of reversing here. The b
- 1:20:35Speaker 4: plot doesn't really work. I don't think, I don't, But okay,
- 1:20:38Speaker 4: it doesn't really work. But at the same time, it's
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: not really. It's not so bad that you're like, oh,
- 1:20:42Speaker 4: it capsizes the whole episode. I just don't think there's
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: a lot of substance to it. It feels, as I said, yes,
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: but the defensive, the whole, the whole a plot I
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: think works very very well. And yeah, especially because it
- 1:20:55Speaker 4: just reminds you that mover all his flaws and faults,
- 1:20:59Speaker 4: has a genuine good heart, even if his mind and
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: his mouth don't know is coalied with his heart. So yeah,
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: who among us? Who among us? Exactly right? What do
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: we learn? What do you learn from this episode? Mister Davis?
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: I learned the rhyme scheme for Limericks. Yeah, I mean
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: I think I already knew it. I think anyone who
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: basically understands words would understand it. But I very much
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: like that Lenny was saying, it's aabb a dumb ass.
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: I'm not going to forget that anytime soon. So thank
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: you Simpsons, Thank you Lenny.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: Umm.
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like I learned something today.
- 1:21:36Speaker 5: I learn that dwarf tossing is not a thing you
- 1:21:38Speaker 5: should be doing in twenty twenty five, let alone two
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: thousand and nine.
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: Andever this ad that's the little person they may want
- 1:21:45Speaker 4: to be.
- 1:21:45Speaker 5: They maybe caught little person tossing.
- 1:21:47Speaker 4: Then I don't have the same ring. Yeah, it's like
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: Snow White and the Magical Creatures, whatever the fuck it was.
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: What did they change it to? Is magical creatures or
- 1:21:56Speaker 4: in the snow film came and went very grief. We
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: would know the answer of this if anyone wants it.
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: I don't know. In cases like this, I just you know,
- 1:22:08Speaker 4: I defaulted the Gimli way of thinking. Nobody tosses a dwarf. Notice,
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: because you've never seen Lord of the Rings, I have.
- 1:22:14Speaker 4: I have watched them all now, of course I have.
- 1:22:16Speaker 5: Yeah, Oh that's right, have you Yeah, I've bought the

- 1:23:54Speaker 4: you get the feelings like, oh, look, everything sort of
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: passes into eternity. Eventually, you know the legend is going
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: to fade. But it's good to hear that. New generations

- 1:24:29Speaker 4: keeping the flame burning. We are indeed love me. Bartender
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: is gets one point.
- 1:24:34Speaker 5: So clever It's Clever Kyle, weaving him up to ten
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: points in fourth position, while on Clever.
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: Kyle, well done, Clever Kyle, two points goes to how
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: mo can you go?
- 1:24:44Speaker 5: That is all Phil j oh No, he's not Philip
- 1:24:47Speaker 5: j yet. He's still Phil Hawk and he's on nineteen
- 1:24:49Speaker 5: points at the as. We haven't got thirty three points yet,
- 1:24:51Speaker 5: but as it currently stands, he's on nineteen, one point
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: behind Jared. Okay, but who's gonna get the three?
- 1:24:57Speaker 4: Well? I wonder if Jared gave us this three pointer
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: swish heartbreak motell or what's a good name?
- 1:25:05Speaker 5: It's pretty good, but it's Brian hughesy my Hughes, which
- 1:25:09Speaker 5: means he's now fifteen points. He's only five points behind
- 1:25:12Speaker 5: Jared and four points behind Phil Hawkins.
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: He's clot us. He could win this. We got us
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: a race, baby.
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: I feel like it's down to three. It's down to
- 1:25:21Speaker 5: three cats now, Brian Hughes, Phil Hawkins and Jared Hornby.

- 1:25:25Speaker 5: Jared lifted game You've got I think that's the first
- 1:25:27Speaker 5: time in ages he hasn't had any points.

- 1:25:43Speaker 5: draw that we hadro at the end of the season
- 1:25:46Speaker 5: as well.
- 1:25:48Speaker 4: Shall I peel back the curtain a little bit with
- 1:25:49Speaker 4: the young gave us New Name Channel because there was
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: one other name that I really enjoy and that I
- 1:25:55Speaker 4: wanted to throw in there. Now you know, it was
- 1:25:57Speaker 4: Brian mc hughes. It bears repeating that the Guy Davs
- 1:26:00Speaker 4: New Name Challenge is done blind. Yeah, sight impaired.
- 1:26:03Speaker 5: Because guy sends it through to me, he goes, this
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: is one point. I go, oh, this person's already also
- 1:26:08Speaker 5: won three, which means you got to cut off the
- 1:26:09Speaker 5: one point win and give it to somebody else, because.
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: I was initially going to give one point to Big
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: Trouble with Little Maya. Yeah, it was pretty funny, kind
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: of liked it. Tribute the Big Trouble and Little Play.

- 1:27:37Speaker 4: quick before we close out. Just did the iconic Eye
- 1:27:40Speaker 4: on Springfield theme. Who composed that? But our pal ourf
- 1:27:45Speaker 4: clause and the late great Olf clause and so a
- 1:27:48Speaker 4: shout out pulling out to the man Danny Elfman, as
- 1:27:50Speaker 4: course is the composer of the Simpsons theme, which is iconic.
- 1:27:53Speaker 4: But our kind of tied it all together man with
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: his music. He was a he was an absolute legend.
- 1:27:59Speaker 4: Not just did music for the Simpsons. He did music
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: for my beloved Moonlighting. He did the music for Alf,
- 1:28:05Speaker 4: the show Alf fly enough, so yeah, let's recognize. Yeah,
- 1:28:10Speaker 4: so for you have clause.
- 1:28:14Speaker 5: Obviously, as he said, Dan did the theme, but Alf
- 1:28:16Speaker 5: took that theme and made so many great like transitions
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: and variations. Absolutely, yeah, yeah, but it's such a shame
- 1:28:23Speaker 5: that he was fired. Yeah, it was that that five
- 1:28:26Speaker 5: six years ago just does make sense.
- 1:28:29Speaker 4: Yeah, that bad break and that bad blood between Alf
- 1:28:32Speaker 4: and Yeah, the power broke is the Simpsons h Q.
- 1:28:34Speaker 4: It's a it's a it's a bummer, it's a bit's
- 1:28:36Speaker 4: a puts a bit of a taint on things. But well,
