- 1:23Speaker 2: Worst team in the league.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Yeah, they're the worst team in the league and they shouldn't have signed Daniel Jones.
- 1:28Speaker 1: What the hell were they thinking?
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yeah that that looks just like an all time blunder, big, big time.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Well, you were wrong about the Niners.
- 1:36Speaker 1: As usual, you have a you need to really take to the bank.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Jimmy Reno's.

- 1:46Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:47Speaker 2: In terms of of.
- 1:48Speaker 1: It's weird that they traded up to get Tray Lance.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I still don't get that Traded.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Everything to get Tray Lance.
- 1:54Speaker 1: And now he's totally gone.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah, he's with the Cowboys, yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I know, but just Well, I just don't understand the trade at the time.
- 2:02Speaker 1: But whatever, they continue to win 30 to 7 over the over the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Like I said, brock Purdy look really good.
- 2:09Speaker 2: He's going to just keep it rolling every week.
- 2:11Speaker 1: The last pick in the draft too.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a hell of a story.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Like I said, man, you couldn't get him for any cheaper.
- 2:19Speaker 2: You know you sign him as an undrafted free agent.
- 2:22Speaker 2: He's going to ask for more money.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Like they got him for cheap.
- 2:27Speaker 2: He's still hey, whatever.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Whatever, they're going to lose next week by five touchdowns.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll see.
- 2:36Speaker 1: But they really had a guy.
- 2:37Speaker 1: They really played well.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I mean, cavry just busted off the long run and yeah, and you know, steelers 65 yard man.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and then they.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Well, brandon, I you quit.
- 2:48Speaker 1: You have two touchdowns right.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean he's.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Where he playing college Arizona.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Arizona State.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Yeah, but hey, man Steelers also look like they may be the worst team in the NFL.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yeah, steelers, overreaction would be Can he pick it?
- 3:02Speaker 1: Can he pick it?
- 3:03Speaker 1: What would we do in drafting him?
- 3:05Speaker 2: But Can I trick it, can he?
- 3:07Speaker 1: look, he had some errant throws again.
- 3:09Speaker 1: You know that you don't want to see.
- 3:12Speaker 2: What is he ever not throwing interceptions?
- 3:15Speaker 1: Well, he's going to see this cut back and the Jaguars look solid.
- 3:22Speaker 1: They took care of business.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I tell you what man Anthony Richardson do look terrible, um.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Jacks looked like they were about to screw around and lose that game.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Right.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I was looking really bad early on with all my picks.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Got one of those, one of the rare early games that I got right, and the Bucks Bucks pulled it out.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Those Bucks, man, yeah, vikings, you guys, yeah, great job.
- 3:51Speaker 1: But the the biggest.
- 3:52Speaker 2: The biggest, your only gun.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Yeah, the biggest bonehead pick Of this show.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yeah, let's talk about it.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Let's talk about it All picking the damn bears.
- 4:01Speaker 1: What?
- 4:01Speaker 2: about the bears.
- 4:02Speaker 1: The bears.
- 4:02Speaker 1: A lot of people are going with the bears, especially with you know, jordan Love.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Have you know?
- 4:08Speaker 1: You saying that?
- 4:10Speaker 2: What was my exact quote?
- 4:11Speaker 1: Oh, I don't even want to go there.
- 4:12Speaker 1: You know you have no confidence in Jordan?
- 4:17Speaker 2: Love, no confidence in Jordan, love, whatsoever.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Well, he led the bears to.
- 4:22Speaker 2: The bears are still so bad.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Dominate 38 to 20 win.
- 4:26Speaker 2: That's all they have on offense.
- 4:28Speaker 1: It's like they continue to dominate that rivalry.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Like, yeah, that's all they can muster up over here in Chicago.
- 4:35Speaker 1: You can see the frustration in the Chicago fans.
- 4:38Speaker 2: They were like come on, maybe what they've been watching for how many years.
- 4:41Speaker 2: This is the guy that was supposed to get an offense.
- 4:45Speaker 2: You know, an exciting offense.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, it's just looks like the same old.
- 4:51Speaker 1: 24, 37, 216 yards, nothing really phenomenal.
- 4:55Speaker 1: One touchdown, one pick.
- 4:57Speaker 1: But Jordan Love 15 to 27 to 45.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Three touchdowns, no interceptions.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and they ran the ball.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 2: That's another thing.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Aaron Jones is yeah, he can still do big plays.
- 5:12Speaker 1: He had a long touchdown.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Yeah, the bears are still the bears.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Man Defense looks worse every every season.
- 5:18Speaker 2: They get a little bit softer on defense.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Well, the game of the day was what we thought it would be the Miami LA game.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Wow, yeah, well, I was happy that I was wrong in that game, even though I still still sitting, all right.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I mean, we got a chance to win this week.
- 5:41Speaker 2: I did say, I did say to him Diego has a tendency, even though with all that star power on defense, to just give up a lot of points.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Well, and I get it, they have the most unfair home advantage in the league.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean one team in particular.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Have it's all like road fans, whoever the road team is.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Yeah, nobody's out there watching the Chargers.
- 6:04Speaker 1: It's like we'll just vacation to LA and watch our team there.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Or you know, la is so big, they have so many fans of all the teams there because they didn't have a team for so long.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Chargers fans are in San Diego.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah, like that's just where it is, man.
- 6:22Speaker 2: But yeah, for me.
- 6:23Speaker 1: What a fun game to watch Back and forth.
- 6:25Speaker 1: How many?
- 6:26Speaker 1: What was it like?
- 6:26Speaker 1: 10 lead changes at same.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and two man two.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I agree with our colleagues.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Story of the week in sports.
- 6:35Speaker 2: You know that guy 466 yards, is that what he had?
- 6:42Speaker 1: Yeah, well, yeah, he had himself a day 28 of 45, 466 yards.
- 6:49Speaker 1: He did have a bit one pick but three touchdowns and he didn't let that phase him.
- 6:55Speaker 2: And I'll tell you what 11 catches 215 yards and two touchdowns with the freaking cheetah.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it helps when you got that guy.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Oh my goodness.
- 7:06Speaker 2: He's unguardable.
- 7:07Speaker 2: One of the few athletes on defense that can run with him is on his team now, and Jaylen Ramsey.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Right.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I don't know anybody that's gonna be able to cover him for an entire game.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Yeah, the Chargers, they would really run the ball.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Austin Eckler had him, so he had 117 yards on the ground.
- 7:27Speaker 2: And it's you know, but at the end.
- 7:30Speaker 1: At the end, the dolphins got that pressure.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah, he dialed it up when I needed it.
- 7:35Speaker 2: That's your, that's your fan geo zone.
- 7:37Speaker 2: You know, it's like he's just.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Too.
- 7:39Speaker 1: It looked better, he looked, he looked stronger, he looked more, he looked more agile, he looked a lot bigger.
- 7:45Speaker 2: People were writing him off as done.
- 7:47Speaker 2: As you know, this guy's gonna die if he keeps playing.
- 7:51Speaker 2: He didn't.
- 7:52Speaker 2: You know, yeah, story.
- 7:55Speaker 1: No, it's I've.
- 7:56Speaker 1: If he's in, he's gonna put up numbers.
- 7:58Speaker 1: He did it last season.
- 7:59Speaker 1: If he could stay healthy, they have a track offense.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I mean we didn't even see the rookie.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I mean you know that offense is gonna be explosive all season.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Yeah, but they didn't.
- 8:15Speaker 1: They were gonna make him pass San Diego has.
- 8:19Speaker 1: That's their strategy.
- 8:21Speaker 1: You know they don't yeah.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Well, I don't know what he do Like cause isn't that, coach, they have defensive coach, Defensive minded coach.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I don't like, I don't get it he was with Steve Kerr, went to and turned him with Steve Kerr in the all season.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I just don't understand how they have all these players on this you know and and Derwin's out there making plays all over the place, but they still seem to give up just ridiculous amounts of points, and especially through the air, like plays through the air, I don't know.
- 8:50Speaker 2: And like you said, the interception, JC Jackson got it, but two of them went right back after him and hit hit Hill for a touchdown, right yeah, that was a an aggressive throw.
- 8:59Speaker 1: He was throwing, he was being aggressive all game and it looks.
- 9:03Speaker 1: When you have that, when you have belief in your guys, and I tell you what man you get Tyree Kilman.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Yeah he's so short but he's like so explosive.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and he runs like a running back with the ball in his hands, but he's lined up out there at wide receiver.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I mean, you remember when he's at Oklahoma State and we played him opening 2014.
- 9:23Speaker 2: He almost beat it was.
- 9:25Speaker 2: It was essentially James against Tyree Kil.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:28Speaker 1: He's been dominant ever since he's been in the league.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:33Speaker 1: He's looking like a Canton.
- 9:34Speaker 2: I don't think he's ever dominated a level of football that he's been playing at.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:39Speaker 2: And they like that was the game.
- 9:41Speaker 1: that was the funnest game of the weekend, yeah without question.
- 9:45Speaker 2: You know, the late night game had Cowboys, Giant God yeah 40 to zero man Cowboys fans.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I picked the Cowboys to go to the Super Bowl because it either is going to be really good or it's either going to be really bad.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 2: And we'll see man, yeah, we'll see that this was.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I think they have the Giants number and you could see it.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Daniel Jones did not look good.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I would definitely definitely agree.
- 10:11Speaker 2: It's more about the Giants being terrible that it is about the Cowboys being the super team.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Eagles Patriots was a really good game.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, eagles got up early and the Patriots battle back.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Matt Jones had a nice little stretch there where he was really playing well.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:30Speaker 2: But, 25, 20,.
- 10:33Speaker 2: They had Just another guy.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Yeah Right, Does he bring that element man?
- 10:39Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Vegas, Denver, 17, 16.
- 10:46Speaker 2: New Orleans yeah.
- 10:48Speaker 1: New Orleans, Tennessee, 16, 15.
- 10:51Speaker 1: This is like Exactly yeah.
- 10:56Speaker 2: It feels like a bunch of some teams are going to go eight and eight playing each other.
- 10:59Speaker 1: We're just going to kick field goals they had four down and with like two minutes and something left and we're just going to kick a field goal, try to get the ball back and kick another field goal.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Exactly Big shock of the week for me, though, with Detroit beating Kansas City.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Kelsey being out was obviously just yeah, you know, apologize for not in football.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I won't apologize for anything.
- 11:21Speaker 1: In football, man, you everybody has to go practice and risk getting injured every week.
- 11:27Speaker 2: They got the MVP at quarterback man.
- 11:29Speaker 2: She didn't matter, Right.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Right, I mean, no, it's Detroit.
- 11:33Speaker 1: You want to apologize for anything?
- 11:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I think there were some surprises.
- 11:38Speaker 1: I think Green Bay shocked a lot of people.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, they looked a lot better than the people thought they were going to look.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Well, smart people, right, real smart people real and the Rams.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Yeah, people got that one right too.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you and I got that right, but I didn't see that.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I thought the Seahawks were going to win that one.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Yeah, geno, geno Smith, he looked.
- 12:02Speaker 1: It's Geno Smith still.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:04Speaker 1: He had the one year, but he's still just.
- 12:07Speaker 1: He only had 112 yards passing, and Matt Stafford was able to throw for 334 yards.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Look at all.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Look at all, maddie.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Yeah, so he still got the gunslinger.
- 12:20Speaker 1: And to to Atwell with 119 yards, receiving in Puka Nakuha.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Yeah, that it, I don't yeah, man, that's a fun name I didn't watch the game either.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I didn't did what it acres.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Well, I was watching all of them, man.
- 12:37Speaker 1: This is the first time I've actually had Sunday ticket and it was overwhelming.
- 12:41Speaker 1: It's a lot, I love it.
- 12:43Speaker 1: It's great.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I mean, you have to, I'm gonna need to get another TV.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Yeah, these two man, well, I know, I just I'm gonna hook them both up.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I tell you what get you for there you go, you know.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Red zone on two of them in then two games.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Well, yeah, that's the thing.
- 13:00Speaker 1: If you don't, if you got them all up, you don't need to have the red zone.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Well, you know, what else do we have from week one over reaction?
- 13:13Speaker 2: Texan still suck.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Yeah they always will.
- 13:15Speaker 2: It appears Bengals looked really bad.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I know, I know burrow wasn't, wasn't a hundred percent?
- 13:21Speaker 1: No, dude, they look terrible.
- 13:23Speaker 2: It's the Browns man, come on.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Yeah, 24 to 3, cuz I left.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Yeah, y'all ain't nothing now cuz I'm gone.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Ha ha.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Well, it will decide.
- 13:37Speaker 1: We still got one more game the big Monday night football game that they're hyping yeah it's a big one.
- 13:42Speaker 2: It is a big one.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Give me the 500.
- 13:44Speaker 1: AFCE's clash.
- 13:45Speaker 1: It's gonna come.
- 13:46Speaker 1: There could be some postseason implications, decided in week one Tonight.
- 13:52Speaker 2: I'm anxious to see how old man a a run it looks.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Does he still have?
- 13:56Speaker 2: You know, he's still have the juice in that arm.
- 13:59Speaker 2: I.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Think he's gonna be rejuvenated.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I think they actually.
- 14:04Speaker 1: I think that, well, I like the coach, yeah, I like the coach, and when you have a good coach and I and I think he can handle the defense and they have some weapons on offense and I think Aaron Rogers Does not turn the ball over, he's.
- 14:20Speaker 1: He's kind of he's always done that.
- 14:23Speaker 1: He's been efficient machine.
- 14:26Speaker 2: And so huge.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Yeah, if you can do that with weapons that they added with Dalvin cook now, yeah, I, I think they're.
- 14:33Speaker 1: They have a little bit of that juice buffalo, but that's maybe that was good for Buffalo.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Everybody was on the Buffalo train last year.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll still have good players.
- 14:44Speaker 2: I never think it's a good sign when your players start appearing in more and more commercials.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Alan just seems to be popping up all over the place, right.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I think he digressed last year.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Yeah and this is a.
- 14:56Speaker 2: This will be a big game for him, but if you're listening out there, Josh Allen is gonna throw for 450 yards.
- 15:03Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 15:04Speaker 1: No, I think the jets come up big.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I Think it's a.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I think you had this similar to when Tom Brady went to the Bucks.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Man it's.
- 15:12Speaker 1: We have a type of quarterback like this changing teams, here's it, there's it's.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Everybody's gonna step their game up, especially on the offense side of the ball.
- 15:22Speaker 1: You feel like you're just, you got to protect them a little bit better.
- 15:25Speaker 1: He's feeling you have to catch everything, everyone's gonna.
- 15:27Speaker 1: He, it's just what.
- 15:29Speaker 1: You kind of demand it and you could see it when Brady came to the Bucks, you know you could just see like all right, we got to get our crap together, you know.
- 15:40Speaker 2: And yeah, and really good and it and, like you said, that defense but the leadership they bring, yeah, they make the decent.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Yeah, robert saw, is a good coach.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Jermaine Johnson off that edge right.
- 15:51Speaker 2: I'm looking for him to have a big season.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Yeah, well, we did.
- 15:56Speaker 1: We didn't talk about a few games Saturday.
- 15:59Speaker 1: We didn't mention oh, nick Saban got beat, oh, by a former coach.
- 16:04Speaker 2: That's right, man.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Jimbo no longer has the prestigious honor.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Yeah man, I'm, they got QB problems right and they, they were going on and on about how great this offensive line was gonna be for for Alabama.
- 16:18Speaker 2: And man, they didn't do anything against Texas.
- 16:22Speaker 2: They couldn't run the ball, couldn't protect Texas.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Look good, they look good.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I mean, I'll be, I'm still got a defense man.
- 16:30Speaker 2: They can still, they can still make some plays there.
- 16:33Speaker 2: But Texas, figure out that you keep, you keep fighting, man.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Eventually you'll be able to throw over the top of them.
- 16:39Speaker 2: That's big, that's big.
- 16:42Speaker 1: They went for Texas.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I think Alabama is gonna lose a couple couple more games this year.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I think that's what you're you're witnessing, wow, I mean they you know they have a.
- 16:52Speaker 2: They have a problem running the football against physical frontline and their receivers are not the the standard Alabama receivers where you got two or three that can make plays as soon as they get the ball in their hands.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised at all of LSU still won the L and the SEC West.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Yeah, they look.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Is you know LSU?
- 17:12Speaker 2: And?
- 17:14Speaker 1: Because Florida State looks really good.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Lsu Was in that game.
- 17:18Speaker 1: When you start to look at it doesn't?
- 17:20Speaker 1: When you look at it, it's not gonna look like a bad as bad a loss for LSU If Florida States, the team that ever that I think they are and everybody else seems to think they are.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Right, I agree with you.
- 17:31Speaker 2: I agree with you.
- 17:31Speaker 2: I think LSU is still gonna win that.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I mean, texas ain't him, dude?
- 17:34Speaker 2: No.
- 17:35Speaker 1: I think LSU has the better roster.
- 17:37Speaker 1: They have the better quarterback, yeah, they have the better receivers and now they have their defense.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Is gonna get it together?
- 17:43Speaker 1: I think they're gonna.
- 17:44Speaker 1: They can still have a great year.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Now we'll see what wins that.
- 17:48Speaker 1: You know, they don't have any room for error.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah, they don't.
- 17:51Speaker 2: But you can lose a game, though, and still win the SEC West, like they did last year for the first time and forever, nobody looks unbeatable in the West Like they all you know, and LSU you can make that argument.
- 18:05Speaker 2: They still look like the strongest team in that that division.
- 18:09Speaker 2: It's.
- 18:10Speaker 2: We'll see, We'll see.
- 18:12Speaker 2: You know I'll be.
- 18:12Speaker 2: I'm still got played Tennessee.
- 18:13Speaker 2: They're gonna.
- 18:14Speaker 2: You know there's some, some crossover losses.
- 18:16Speaker 1: They were so wrong about Colorado.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought they would you were wrong?
- 18:22Speaker 1: No, I thought they would definitely.
- 18:24Speaker 2: I thought the score against Nebraska would be a little bit higher.
- 18:26Speaker 2: I think Nebraska did well.
- 18:27Speaker 1: I know you have you there.
- 18:29Speaker 1: It's almost just like your Randy Quaid and major league too, a little bit you know, not really, though I never thought they would not win, I think I just I Don't know what I was thinking honestly.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Three and a half, I mean that could have been.
- 18:43Speaker 1: They've already got two.
- 18:45Speaker 1: All they have to.
- 18:46Speaker 1: They're gonna be Colorado State, so all they're gonna have to do is win one damn conference game, and they have won their over of the season, they'll definitely win a conference game.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Oh I know, I'm just saying like how ridiculous that number is, so it's not just like anybody.
- 19:00Speaker 1: And like so how motivating is that for them?
- 19:03Speaker 1: And like it really is a good story because it was it's Vegas.
- 19:06Speaker 1: That was three and a half.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Like they didn't have any numbers, they didn't have anything to base it off, and he's changing the game by having the roster completely completely flipped.
- 19:18Speaker 2: There's well, I don't know how many players are left from last season, and I don't think any of them that are playing, maybe a couple.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I was impressed by you.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Know they didn't look good but they still came over the big win.
- 19:30Speaker 1: And you look up and yeah.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Sanders is man.
- 19:34Speaker 1: He's a real deal.
- 19:35Speaker 2: He's.
- 19:35Speaker 2: I'll be honest, like I expected them to blow Nebraska out.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I didn't think they did, but Nebraska played a lot better defensively in that first half than I thought that they could.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I don't see when a team with a real quarterback and a real offense yeah, when they play.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Oregon, but they're but still, Dude, I'm going to tell you, man, like Oregon doesn't look like they right, right, I'm saying they got a shot, shoot out, it's going to be a shot, they got a shot.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Every game they play.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I think when they play Utah, that may be the first physical defense that they face.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I mean, you look at USC right, alex Grinch, dude, he's going to give up points.
- 20:14Speaker 2: That's just what he does at defensive.
- 20:16Speaker 2: You know his defensive philosophy.
- 20:18Speaker 2: They get scored on.
- 20:19Speaker 2: That's going to be a shootout game.
- 20:21Speaker 2: I don't, you know.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I don't know what Washington has on the defensive side of the ball, but you know it.
- 20:31Speaker 1: It's just fun to see the pack 12 is as strong as they've ever been, and it's the last year they're going out with a bang, pretty much.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I mean they have eight teams ranked.
- 20:42Speaker 2: A lot of good quarterbacks out there.
- 20:43Speaker 1: They really are.
- 20:43Speaker 1: No it and then they're all leaving.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Sanders is the real deal.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Yeah, he really is.
- 20:49Speaker 1: He's the star of that team.
- 20:51Speaker 1: He's the best player on that team.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Oh, without question.
- 20:54Speaker 2: I mean, he's what drives that entire offense.
- 20:56Speaker 2: You know you could.
- 20:59Speaker 1: You could see it last year, when I watched him play against FAMU in that opening game.
- 21:03Speaker 1: You saw how dominant he was and you were like this, is this dudes, for real?
- 21:08Speaker 1: He's.
- 21:08Speaker 1: He's carving them up like a, like a pro.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:12Speaker 1: And he's not expecting this defense like a pro.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Well, he hasn't.
- 21:16Speaker 2: He hasn't ever looked looked bad in his college career when he was at Jackson state.
- 21:22Speaker 1: He's had nothing but the best training.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Yeah, he looks like and you know there's, there's things that that I guess.
- 21:27Speaker 1: And he's got the physical tools too.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, he's an NFL quarterback.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I mean anybody that says he's not.
- 21:33Speaker 2: It's just ridiculous.
- 21:35Speaker 1: No, no, no, no.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Now you want to you want to start knocking his game on certain things.
- 21:38Speaker 2: When you, when you get into where you draft them like I don't know how to do it.
- 21:41Speaker 2: We'll see where that goes.
- 21:42Speaker 2: He's got an NFL arm.
- 21:43Speaker 2: He's got an NFL understanding of the game.
- 21:46Speaker 1: His, his, his, his doc is only going to go up.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, without quite, I mean, like you know he should have been in New York last year.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Yeah, he put the stats up.
- 21:56Speaker 1: He's going to have ridiculous numbers this season.
- 21:58Speaker 1: He's going to be in New York even if they lose three games.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, without question, and that's going to be.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I mean if they lose games, if they lose three.
- 22:06Speaker 1: That conversation has totally changed.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I mean any games they lose.
- 22:10Speaker 2: I'm going to go ahead and just take a guess that it's not going to be because of him.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Right.
- 22:16Speaker 2: It'll be just they.
- 22:17Speaker 2: They couldn't stop somebody.
- 22:18Speaker 1: They'll have to.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I mean, they're not going to get to play against Jeff Sims.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Lead offenses for too long, no, no.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Seeing Brock Purdy get in.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Did he look worse he?
- 22:28Speaker 1: didn't look too worse.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Did he look at it all?
- 22:30Speaker 2: No man, I mean their best.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Their best hope offensively was to run that Tommy Frazier offense man to just let Jeff Sims carry it 20 times that game.
- 22:40Speaker 2: But again he was fumbling the ball.
- 22:42Speaker 2: So who knows Shit they got.
- 22:44Speaker 2: They got some work to do up there in Nebraska.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Yeah, they do.
- 22:49Speaker 2: It's the first year back, though I mean tell you who else has some work to do.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Is old Jimbo.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I know I, I yeah Talk about it.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Yeah, miami, look good man.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Miami did it right now as we're looking at the beginning of the game, they were kicking themselves in the foot.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Yeah, mistakes.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Self-inflicted wounds like that.
- 23:06Speaker 2: That's it.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Jimbo is very lucky that game could have been 48 to, you know, 19 if Miami done get a punt blocked and you know ifs and nuts, but they, they, you know, texas, ain't him?
- 23:18Speaker 2: Challenged them one on one out there with their corners, and Miami just roasted them.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Yep, they were able to protect TVD, yeah, and he was looked like he did a couple of years ago.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Yeah, he did, he's.
- 23:30Speaker 2: He's back in that kind of simplified you know get the ball and let it fly off.
- 23:34Speaker 2: And you know, josh Gattis was horrible.
- 23:36Speaker 2: That guy's terrible, like it is what it is.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Just swung and missed the first year on the coordinator, you know everybody has their opportunities sometimes and it is Because Cristobal has a track record.
- 23:48Speaker 1: He was a.
- 23:49Speaker 1: I mean it looks already like he he did better.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Both sides of the ball and they look like that takes courage to make those changes after one year.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you know, you don't want you don't want to have to do that.
- 24:03Speaker 2: It helps when you, when you, you know, when you're five and seven, you can be like all right, this is unacceptable, it's true, you guys are both out of here, right.
- 24:08Speaker 2: You know, Kevin Steele left quote unquote to go to Alabama and you looked at their defense kind of looks predictable, right, um, but yeah, florida State, miami right now, look to be the early, the early class of the conference.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Right, right Duke and.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Wake Forest kind of under, kind of sneakly going to.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Man, it's really going to be fun to see as far as how it lines up, because Dude.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Florida State Miami game.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Miami's that last conference game.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Right, that's you, yeah, um man you could very well have a conference championship appearance locked up before even playing.
- 24:43Speaker 2: But yeah, that's where it's getting way ahead.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Yeah, you're getting way ahead.
- 24:46Speaker 2: But I'm saying both, both teams fully healthy come that game Like you're talking about.
- 24:51Speaker 1: It's looking like a different game those old school matchups yeah.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Where both teams are.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Florida State, Clemson.
- 24:58Speaker 2: If not both top five, they're both top 10.
- 25:00Speaker 2: And it would be huge Florida State, yeah, florida.
- 25:03Speaker 1: State Clemson spent.
- 25:04Speaker 1: The game time has been announced since that noon, which is good, that's awesome.
- 25:08Speaker 1: I know that's great, that's huge.
- 25:09Speaker 1: That's what you want.
- 25:10Speaker 1: If you're the road team, you don't want.
- 25:12Speaker 2: I mean, you don't want Death Valley getting the entire day to get amped up and yeah, you know all lubricated and ready to get crazy Like you.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Just don't want that man.
- 25:20Speaker 2: You, you're rolling there at noon when they're still waking up and right before they know what hit them, you're up three touchdowns.
- 25:25Speaker 2: That's what you want.
- 25:27Speaker 1: That, that, yeah, you want to get in and get out business trip, but they got to go to Boston College first.
- 25:33Speaker 1: But Before we, you've had a chance to watch the game again and look at some of the numbers, what stood out to you as far as snaps?
- 25:42Speaker 1: Guys who played a lot, guys who didn't.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Well, snaps will start on defense, man Cuz, you know, like the big deal for me is, is Blake Nicholson getting the most snaps out of any player on defense.
- 25:56Speaker 2: True, freshman linebacker, you know Cali guy and, and apparently he's, he's just, he's progressing pretty, pretty nicely.
- 26:05Speaker 2: May even be seeing some regular time as the season gets Gets going.
- 26:10Speaker 2: But yeah, man, everybody played and a lot, a lot.
- 26:14Speaker 2: You know.
- 26:14Speaker 2: You look at the starters, guys like the Loach and Bethune and linebacker only played like 13 snaps.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that's really good.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Yeah, even on the first drive, Darian Williamson getting the touchdown you know it was him and span most of the time at receiver.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Just a really nice mix, and you know.
- 26:32Speaker 2: You saw what we have at wide receiver.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Man and a bunch of guys that want to fight all the D backs and they want to block.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I came.
- 26:39Speaker 2: I love seeing that dude that that kid blocks his ass off?
- 26:43Speaker 2: Yeah, he is like, and it's.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Coleman was blocking his ass off too.
- 26:47Speaker 1: They're all looking to make a statement.
- 26:50Speaker 2: It was, uh, I liked it man.
- 26:52Speaker 2: I like the fact that everybody got in, take, got in, looked as efficient as you can couple couple touchdown passes, you know, early on the drops, things like that.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Jordan Travis was was going for the home runs early.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Some of some of those drops are on him.
- 27:07Speaker 2: A couple of them were under thrown, a couple of them were absolute dimes.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Lot of those throws, they had guys underneath on other routes that were wide open.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I think he was just trying to get highlights, trying to get his guys some, you know to eat a little bit and it's understandable.
- 27:24Speaker 2: They settled in, they made plays and we, you know sloppy playing.
- 27:28Speaker 2: You're up 31 to 3.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Right, right, you're nitpicking, mm-hmm but you know, I think Johnny Wilson will be able to shake it off.
- 27:35Speaker 2: You know, in a rough game, but I don't think it's anything that you know.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Well, that's gonna be somebody that will step up.
- 27:42Speaker 1: You have a rotation of players now that you don't know.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it will be that, that and that's key man.
- 27:49Speaker 2: You got a, especially on the offensive side of the ball right.
- 27:52Speaker 2: If you're gonna try to move fast and keep things going at a rapid pace, you got to have guys that can get in there and play.
- 27:59Speaker 2: You know, two snaps Total but not have a drop-off.
- 28:02Speaker 2: And you're seeing that at some spots running back wide receiver, you want to?
- 28:07Speaker 1: keep the effort with the receivers.
- 28:09Speaker 1: When the guys are getting one catch but they're still blocking, like you know, that's what you love to see by and that's the buy-in and that's the offense.
- 28:17Speaker 1: That it doesn't matter.
- 28:19Speaker 1: You know who's getting the ball.
- 28:21Speaker 1: We're playing our ass off and man, and that's just man.
- 28:25Speaker 1: That's great to see, seeing that where the receiver room was just few years back.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it took year after year after year of just getting the right guys in there and Having them run through it over and over and over again.
- 28:37Speaker 2: And it's now you get a guy like a freshman, like Ikeem Williams, that gets out there and and roads block somebody and then full speed For the next 10 yards because the guy still got the ball.
- 28:47Speaker 2: He's looking for somebody else to hit and that's.
- 28:50Speaker 2: You know that, that's, that's how you do it, man.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Hey, it was good to see.
- 28:55Speaker 2: You know.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Obviously it wasn't a perfect performance, because it's a.
- 28:59Speaker 2: You know it's week two and but you won 66 13.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Yeah, 66 13 came out again after halftime and looked assertive yeah again.
- 29:09Speaker 1: That's another thing that I saw like after LSU.
- 29:13Speaker 2: It seemed like the same type of play right after halftime offense was looked refocused, defense with the big turnover and I think that's why you saw things like you know, going forward on fourth down so many times yeah, the on sides kick.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Yeah, what do you think?
- 29:29Speaker 1: about that.
- 29:29Speaker 2: I mean, I think it shows Mike Norvell.
- 29:32Speaker 2: He's just trying stuff, like he this isn't a normal year for him.
- 29:35Speaker 2: You can see it on his on his face on the sidelines.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Um, he has that chip on his shoulder for his team, like I think he's really believes that, like I have to look, you know, angry, pissed off, like this is Personal type of stuff for this team to show them that like you can't yeah, it is and that's he was clearly not happy with the.
- 29:58Speaker 2: That's a message, like you know hey, it's only 14 to nothing like damn it.
- 30:01Speaker 2: We got to keep working on this because you guys are still not doing what I'm telling you.
- 30:05Speaker 2: So let's try this.
- 30:06Speaker 2: And I mean, if they wouldn't have recovered it he would have got blasted for it.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Who knows Southern?
- 30:13Speaker 1: Defense was in control.
- 30:15Speaker 1: He knew what was up, you know, and I think it sends a message to your team.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean he's, he's.
- 30:22Speaker 2: It's a different year for him.
- 30:23Speaker 1: This is a.
- 30:24Speaker 1: They were 80% for it.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Yeah, they weren't.
- 30:27Speaker 2: And again, like taking those home run shots in the first half so many times like they knew that they had Southern miss beat.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Just by the way the rosters are compiled, I, so we're going to just kind of try to look sharp man.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Yep, oh man, it's been a while.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it has, it has.
- 30:51Speaker 2: This is back to you know, pre-checked out Jimbo.
- 30:57Speaker 1: And those uniforms look good.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Yeah, they do.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Another combo and they just think jerseys look so good, it's just back to the smooth and classic.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Back to the subtlety of the pattern on the collar and on the sleeves.
- 31:13Speaker 2: It's still there, it's still part of the uniform, but you're not.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Oh, I'm excited to see the white jerseys this Saturday, more than anything.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Yeah, you think we're going all white up there.
- 31:26Speaker 1: You know that's a good question.
- 31:27Speaker 1: I mean, they're going all white.
- 31:28Speaker 2: I mean it's going to be a rain game.
- 31:30Speaker 2: I'm going to say that probably going to go for it.
- 31:32Speaker 2: I love that combo.
- 31:33Speaker 1: I love the combo with the garnt pants and the white jersey and the gold helmet.
- 31:37Speaker 2: I've always.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I've always loved that road combo.
- 31:40Speaker 1: It's kind of the opposite of the home combo.
- 31:43Speaker 1: It has all three of the colors.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:47Speaker 1: But it's just good to have all that.
- 31:49Speaker 1: That decade of uniform, that's what it was.
- 31:52Speaker 1: It's a decade of what, what were we doing in uniform?
- 31:56Speaker 2: What?
- 31:56Speaker 1: did Nike do to us?
- 31:57Speaker 1: You know we've been the national championship and I'm telling you, man, the next game, game, you have the gold jerseys gold numbers on white jerseys for the damn national champions.
- 32:10Speaker 2: They look silver on TV, chris.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Fowler still remembers that it's like a nightmare for him still.
- 32:16Speaker 2: You can see it's his first game.
- 32:17Speaker 2: You can see the names I'm with you, chris.
- 32:21Speaker 1: I know I mean it was sad to see, but they got it right now and it looks great.
- 32:27Speaker 1: We got jets bills tonight.
- 32:33Speaker 1: That's actually.
- 32:34Speaker 1: I'm excited to see this game.
- 32:35Speaker 1: I'm seeing what Cook can do with Aaron Rogers.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Yeah, an actual QB threat.
- 32:41Speaker 2: I know Sorry, kirk Cousins.
- 32:44Speaker 1: You don't care.
- 32:44Speaker 1: One of these teams is going to lose, so that's good for me, that's true, that's true.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Dolphins are in first place, the Patriots already lost, so that's good, but the AFCE looks like a beast.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it does man Really.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it might be the best division in football.
- 32:59Speaker 2: See man that NFC sales.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Yeah, right, Well, thanks Jimmy.
- 33:03Speaker 2: And we'll do it again next time.
- 33:06Speaker 1: And thank you for listening and we'll talk to you next time, right here on the North Florida Sports Network.
- 33:15Speaker 1: We had to go.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Our ride is here, thank you.
