- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, everybody.
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to this episode of cheesy popcorn.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_00]: I lost count of which episode it is.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's a 14 maybe it could be.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I've been the 14 movies.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Wow at least and you know, it's it's sad because you don't just two more than you by the way.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: You don't get tickets any Wow, I'm just saying low.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: You don't get tickets anymore, so you don't like there's no keep sakes anymore.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Remember?
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: No, yeah, that doesn't happen anymore
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so yeah, welcome to this episode.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: Last week, we told you we were going to review the movie Springsteen, which has got a whole nother title to it, but I don't remember it.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: So deliver me from nowhere.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: One of us is on the ball.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, I guess.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: Usually it's you.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, I'm glad that it's you this week.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: So thank you.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: I have not seen everything.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: I've had a lot of studio things I've had to fix today.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: So that's probably not on the ball.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: But I am definitely on the ball when it comes to spring stings.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to talk about that.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: And we're also going to talk about our favorite rockumentaries, which can be categorized as a couple of different things, because as soon as my abs, I mean, everybody's going to have a different name for it.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's episode 15, by the way.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wow.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: So there we go.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: So now I'm not, now I'm too up on you.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: So there we go.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think 15 is paper, right?
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know for an anniversary.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we're going that route.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, let's not talk about roses on a dusty table top then.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: So, let's do what we usually do.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: We talk about what we're going to do.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing so.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you're going to read your spring steaming.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk about our favorite Rocky memories and last but not least, but it's going to be first.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about the movies that are coming out this week.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: And there's not a lot.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: No, there's in a few weeks or a month.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: There's some really good.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, because we're getting close to Oscar time and getting close to the holidays.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I, so when I looked at what's coming out this week, I'm like, there's not even like a horror movie coming.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there is kind of a horror movie coming out this week, but it's limited.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: Showings and you know, we like to talk about stuff that's like actually theatrical Lisa's so there's really not a lot to talk about as far as new movies is concerned So looking over the list safe house is gonna be in a limited release Vincent must die Is gonna be in a limited release as well too and hollow road one of those three has kind of like a horror field to it But they're actually classified as a horror movie
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll leave it at that.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: But the movie that is coming out this week as far as a full-scale movie movie nationwide release kind of thing is Bagonia and I'm probably probably spelled it wrong or private pronounce it wrong.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's BUGO and I a
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Bagonia.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: Bagonia.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: And fly.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's a conspiracy theorist, two conspiracy theorists kidnapped the CEO of a major company believing he is a hostile alien.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like a sci-fi movie.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: Emma Stone's in it.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: Emma Stone.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: Are you after?
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: uh... jessie plemins don't know jessie i don't know jessie will tracer and yeah but oh at least you saw for stones and it's all so i haven't seen her not yet so there you go uh... nothing really good as far as the pics are concerned so
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: Well, maybe we'll, maybe we'll look forward to seeing Ruffman, which has been out, but we haven't reviewed it.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, we need to talk a lot to in that.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: So this review, Ruffman, which you got to pick this one.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: You picked Springsteen.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's on, so we'll do Ruffman.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: Some prime video, I think, right?
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it's, you got to pay for it, Stone.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's still a show.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was free on Prime.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: Not till it gets out of the theaters, and I think it's still good.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, roofman, I'm thinking of something different.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm thinking of that one movie.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: Talk about that's on prime.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's got Marky Mark and the funky bunch.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: Not him, but the other guy.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: His brother is in that movie.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: Which one?
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: Play dirty?
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: Play dirty.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm thinking of.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Did you see that yet?
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: No, I haven't seen it yet.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: Well, wait, I thought it was roofman, not roof top.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: Roofman.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: I said roofman.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: I thought you said roof top.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: OK.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: My bad.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: You're thinking of reindeer.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: You're looking forward to Christmas already.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going someone up on your rooftop.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so so roof man this roof roof.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: You want me to go first?
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think you went first.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I went first last time.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: So why don't you go first this time, huh?
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: Let me start with a disclaimer.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, oh.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a big Springsteen fan.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: I like a couple of songs born in the USA, glory, world, but never been a big Springsteen fan of never been a big fan of his music.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he was a kind of a mediocre singer or best in an okay songwriter, except with a couple of hits.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I went into this, I think more objective, maybe than, I don't know, how big a Bruce Springsteen fan you are, but I was in a little bit more
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: and yet, but wait, there's more order now.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: I would give this movie out of ten and eight point five, close to nine.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: I really would and I'll tell you why I would.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, if you're in music or your musician, this is a double way, it's a tufer.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like you said on your show, you say that.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm music row, by the way.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of the best shows on the rise in that work.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's not.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's a tufer.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: Because from a musician's standpoint, which you know I am, I could relate to a lot of what was going on, where if you're not a musician and you're just a springsteen fan, it works.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: You got to be one or the other.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: If you're both, you get even more out of it.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think I would also venture to say that if you and we'll talk more about this in my review, but there's I think there's a there's three aspects that you get on.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's three.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: So moving on, I thought the acting I thought was really good.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: I really like this.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to sound weird.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: I like that Jeremy Allen didn't to me look anything like Bruce Springsteen.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that he really played the character better, not looking like, looking at how they would do Elvis movies, it was one someone that looked a lot like Elvis.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: This part, I really, really like, I wish they would have delved more into the relationship with his manager.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: There was hints of a really, really cool, intimate, trusting relationship, but they didn't really get into that much.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: And it also left you hanging in terms of the love interest part.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: Because he kind of went back to her, but he didn't go back to her.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought that was kind of weird too.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think he pretty much told her they were done.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I don't kind of love your hanging at being like he might still go but I don't know what his situation is today with the girl in the movie But so Small brief history of him that girl that was in the movie was a girl from New Jersey okay that
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: never got too much price to be honest with you.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: When he moved out to California, the manager that you're talking about introduced him to, I believe her name was Lauren Phillips, a fairer member correctly.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: She was an actress and a model at the time, and they got married shortly after born in the USA came out.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: So he never did go back there.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: Unless what they were trying to do in the movie, but this doesn't make any sense because it
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: the girl in the movie was introduced to him from a friend that he went to high school with right boiler alert by the way yeah uh but i don't think it matters because it's just taking that doesn't really take anything away from the movie but Lauren i pretty sure her name was Lauren Phillips uh i'll look it up in a second but um you might
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: that was when he moved out to LA after he'd been out there for a while his manager introduced the two of them and she was actually in the she appears in glory days the video for glory days is at the very end and I think they were husband and wife by that time okay but he ended up marrying one of his I think one of his backup singers so he's a man maybe twice right
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: I want to say like two or three years after they got together, four years, and that's because Bruce was still dealing with something which I'm going to talk pretty heavily about, okay?
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, then he, a member from his band, he's been married to her since like 94, I think, or something like that, and they've got three kids together, and they're in a happy marriage.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: So, yes.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: I digress.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's good.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's good.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: I just wanted to, that that was my thing,
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't like that they didn't bring it into present time really.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: They kind of cut it off at born in the U.S.A.s release with the, you know, they went to black and showed, you know, some wording, and I wanted to, I kind of felt like it left us hanging there too.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: So, and I thought it was kind of slow paste.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: interjection just because uh... julian philips as who is he who he who he was really and patty and i don't know how to pronounce the last thing but i think it's scolifa or scolice scolice scolice i don't know i'm i'm it's etica i a l i f a that's who he's married to now and has she's a member of the history band so okay there's um anyway thought it was slow i thought a good head of faster pace uh... even though i thought it was slow past
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: Every time I wanted to go get a refill on my popcorn, something to go a little twist, and I really couldn't get up to go.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: So I never got a refill on my popcorn, which is another story for another time.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: And then the other thing that I felt,
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what the word is, jilt it, maybe.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: I really wanted it to end with some actual footage.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: You know the credit started rolling and the lights stayed dark and usually in like Marvel movies as you know the lights stayed dark for a reason because there's something common.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: And they never did that.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I was, I, I think the whoever put this move together, Mr. Great Opportunity to, you know, show him young old, whatever at some point.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you wanted to see like what he looks like now.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted something, I wanted, you know, like, they could have just cut to concert footage earlier or now, whatever, but something of him, I was looking for that.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: And then come.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: So there's a reason for that.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure there is a reason, there's a reason.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's not Bruce Branson.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: Which is why I just said, I only know two of his songs.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm very surprised that you gave it an eight and a half.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: Very surprised by that.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think part of it is the fact that I'm a musician, and when my buddy Frank Alouson, I think you know Frank, we recorded 21 songs in two years, original songs,
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: So he would do four tracks, bus, three of them over to one, to mix three to one, then do three more tracks, and bus those over until he was down to a one final track that then he would, so he had, we had like 16 tracks of music that we did on what he had, which is a four track, that machine.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: which they never called it that, but that's I think that's what it was.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: And our stuff came out sounding really nice too.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: So that part of the movie where he wanted to keep that honest sound, I really related to because that's what we recorded in a basement, his basement, and the singer that we had was popping his T's and S's, and we didn't have a windscreen.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: Frank went upstairs and came down and put a piece of his wife's panty hose over the mic in front of the mic to act as a windscreen and we used that for the rest of the time we recorded.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: A new.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: New.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: New.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: New.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: Is he brought the egg and everything with them?
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: No, so I don't know what that means, okay.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: And then the team, you mean, back in the day because they used to come in eggs, that's right.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: What were those Panios called?
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: Were they legs?
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: Legs, they were kind of like, they are also in what movie are they prevalent?
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: Really?
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: Tootsie?
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: Tootsie?
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: Robinhood men and tides.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't realize they used legs pantyhose for that.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: Did you not see the movie?
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen the movie, but like, I don't get down to bare bones about old they're wearing legs pantyhose.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's one of the best scenes when they're getting their outfits.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay, and they kept the crack the big egg.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: I get it now, okay, really, Chris, I'm a little disappointed.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's been a while since I've seen that movie.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: I've been a while since I've seen it.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that was not the scene that made a highlight for me, I guess.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: I guess not, I'm guessing it was the scene when he's singing behind the sheet.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 13:10[UNKNOWN]: No.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: All right, go ahead.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: You're honest.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: I won't interject.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: No, you can, please.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, I think, to be honest with you, I've talked to some of our listeners.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: They like our banter back and forth, even though we interject with other people.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they think they say that it adds the flavor to the whole perspective.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: My wife hates when I interject with us.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, that's your wife.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's not me.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: You can interject.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: And because here's the thing, we're having a conversation.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: We are.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: And in the moment of having that conversation, we can also give each other the details that we need back and forth.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: And the other thing is that at 71, if I don't say it when I get it in my head, I won't remember and none of her come out.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: So exactly, so they're a little younger, but that happens as you age 20 years.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: But that's it.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, all right.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: So Springsteen delivered me from nowhere.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you very much for helping with that, by the way, earlier.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's the first by the way.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: You what, usually you have no details and I don't.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, I was usually much, I was fixing something here in the studio, and I wasn't able to prep a couple of things.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's in everything.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: I got notes too.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: I wrote my notes immediately when I go home with the movie.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: You've been doing that for a while and I have.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to give you praise on that.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you very much.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: I had to bring it up myself.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: Well, because I was waiting to do it when we got off the microphone.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: Now that it's been three weeks and all that you've done that and so it's now going to become a habit, I was going to praise you after that.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, just saying it's not a real cudo.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'll come to someone and hold on.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: There we go.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: You're very, very hard.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, all right.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: So spring scene deliver me from nowhere.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: You went with the rating first.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to go with the rating first.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to give it a nine.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_00]: I was close to a nine.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: I said eight and a half to nine.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_00]: I would I would probably go so far to give it a nine and a half.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: But it's kind of pushing it because to be a nine and a half, you have to be really, really good.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: And the movie is really, really good.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: I even recommended it on my other show, New on Music Row.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_00]: to a bunch of country fans.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: So that's how good it is.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: Now am I a spring see night?
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: I grew up in the era of born in the USA.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: So that's how I know the Bruce and me too.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: To me, that's the center of what I know.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: So dancing in the dark, born in the USA, cover me, glory day, glory days, tunnel all of and there's like one other song.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's from the Toby McGuire soundtrack that it's crap.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I can only name three of his songs.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: Those are all the songs, man.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and those are all the songs that I grew up as a kid and the cool thing about this movie Speaking of growing up as a kid is there is flashbacks.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there are lots of flashbacks.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, um now and I like those Yes, I like those now while he obviously according to the movie which by the way the movie is based off of Warren Zane's book
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: So that's the first thing.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_01]: The second thing is, and it didn't it didn't reference anything about Bruce being involved in it that I could see in any of the credits or anything, right?
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's he's got a producer look at that right it.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think or something like that, but here's the interesting thing about that And I've been saving this nugget for a while because I read this article.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: So nuggets Bruce was obviously on set at some point or he got to see an early screening or he got to hear
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: Here's what Bruce said to Jeremy and this is probably going to open your, this is probably going to change your opinion on his few things.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: He said, you sound like me, but you don't sound like you.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, make it your own.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want you to sound like me.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: I want you to sound like you.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that's one of the things I said I liked about the movie was the Jeremy Allen wasn't trying to look like Bruce Springston He was just trying to play the character which I really like that.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I like sometimes like
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: what's his name, the Johnny Cash, and he tried to look more like Johnny Cash, or what he can't fix.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: He tried to look more like Johnny Cash and sound more like Johnny Cash, and he pulled it off pretty well.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_01]: But I really liked that he wasn't, I mean, I never in this home movie watched a screen and said, oh my god, that looks just like him.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what I was
- 17:30[SPEAKER_00]: When I was talking to them after we saw the movie, no, actually it was Tuesday when we saw the movie on Monday and on Tuesday I was talking to them and I was like, you know what here's the one thing I couldn't get around I couldn't get around the fact that he didn't look like spring thing except in certain camera shots There were certain camera shots where they shot at it the right angle or something and he looked like spring thing But I will say this he got his mannerisms down to a T
- 17:55[SPEAKER_00]: When he's doing born in the USA in the studio spoiler alert, but I think most of the people realize that song has to be in there.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, this movie is about an album that came out of the recording sessions of songs that then became born in the USA.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: But that album is called The Braska.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: Did not get released to a lot of press.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_00]: Never went on tour.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: There were no singles that came off of it.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a reason.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_00]: Bruce was going through a very difficult time in his life at the
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I really like that part a lot of the movie.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_00]: And if you suffer from depression at all, whether you're diagnosed or not, this movie is going to ring home as it did for me, because I do suffer from depression.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: And to hear the struggles that he went through, really, really hit home.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_00]: I actually cried a couple of times during this.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_00]: Did you?
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: Because there were a lot of things that I could relate to.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: Now while Bruce's parents were as loving as they could be, his dad was alcoholic and abusive.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_00]: I have a father who's an alcoholic, but he wasn't abusive.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_00]: However, I have another parent who, unfortunately, I don't ever refer to her.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: and it's part of the reason why I say the things I say about myself and why I beat myself up because she wasn't very encouraging.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: We'll just put it that way.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why this rang true for me so much and why it helped me get through some of the struggles that I'm going through.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: And if you are struggling with it and you haven't sought help.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: I encourage you to do so.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_00]: Um, the it is such a.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: a weight lifter to realize that what's going on is not you, it's from other situations and things that you put on yourself.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: So, fantastic movie because of that, but also because of the fact that you got to see what it's like to be a rock star.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: At this point in Bruce's life,
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: But the river album had just come out, and he was really on the success of that, and I think cover me as a song that's on that album, if I remember correctly.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, so that's where we are at Bruce's timeline.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: And the movie is fantastic, because of the fact that we're seeing a behind-the-scenes view of what it was like to come into born in the USA.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I've never read Warren Zain's book.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think I might just so that I can see how much the movie related to it.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: And also to see if some of the things that they mentioned in the movie are actually true.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like, have you ever heard of a movie called Born in the USA?
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, was that that was the time was not that was born on the fourth of July that was time for July Yeah, that was Tom Cruise yeah, maybe that songs in there, isn't it?
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know about that, but maybe that's what the movie became.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway Jeremy Allen White I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that if he doesn't get nominated for this something's wrong
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think he could get nominated, I do.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if he'll win, but if he doesn't get nominated for his portrayal of Bruce Springsteen, then I just, I'm gonna say that the Oscars are messed up.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's all I'm gonna say about that.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: So that's that.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: Well, since you brought up the depression section, that's one of the things
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: I would have liked to have no more about his relationship with his manager.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there was, so there's, there's hints about that throughout his, what he, so, but they didn't really get into it enough to, his manager was amazing, but I mean, really was.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you have a manager like that.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, you're blessed.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: But he also knew,
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: his manager knows Bruce like inside and out here's what they didn't really kind of show but they did evolved but they but they didn't have to
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't have to see how it evolved.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: You just had to see how caring he was for Bruce and how really into it.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_00]: And whether you want to call it the fact that he knew that Bruce was a money maker or not, I don't care.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think this was real in genuine.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_00]: But during the times that Bruce was having his, we'll just call them episodes.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_00]: He chose very specific words.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I think,
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: those words, speak volumes to their relationship, and I think that's the key that you need.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: to understand that they did have a deep relationship.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: What had been nice to see where it all started?
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, it would have been nice to know how that relationship evolved into, I mean, that's a hard relationship to have, especially in the music business.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, most managers are like, what that was Geffen that was on the couch, right?
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: Wasn't that supposed to be, I think that was supposed to be Geffen that was on the couch, yeah.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's what you normally get, is the Geffen attitude.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: You don't usually get the attitude of the manager here.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: Unless there's a backstory there.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they could have done just a little, I wouldn't like to listen to a little bit more about the relationship with his manager that made him, I mean, his manager, like, I mean, it was almost like they were blood relatives.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: you know like sometimes your dad manages your career and so he knows a lot that's I did I need it I just me I just need it to have a little bit more than that that's all
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and, you know, I think for the sake of keeping this movie just at two hours, certain things just had to be done the way they were done and to had to be handled the way they were handled.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the words that he used spoke very specifically to show the relationship that he and Bruce have.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the writing was really really great.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_01]: The screenplay is actually was excellent.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: I just thought that directing was a little slow.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that there were scenes that could have been faster, there were scenes that could have been shorter.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think and I film making point of view and and I don't know this but I feel like because of my struggles I feel like maybe part of this movie was to also try to say hey if you're struggling you can get help and let me show you what episodes look like so that if you haven't
- 24:43[SPEAKER_00]: If you haven't been diagnosed or if you don't know or whatever, these are some things that you can look for.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if that was done intentionally or not, but I can tell you that's what I walked away with.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, you know what, if that's part of where they were trying to go with, it's then that's absolutely awesome.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: Because here's the thing, while I enjoy some of Bruce's music, I'm not a huge fan, I never knew he struggled with depression.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_00]: No, never until I saw this movie and it opened up so many it was so mind-opening for me because I mean this man is a huge success Oh huge and You never If you see my Kimmel now
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: He opens up a lot, when he was on Jimmy Kimmel not too long ago, and he opened up a bit about that.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe he's also out there more now, in terms of being more vocal about issues too, which he wasn't doing before, which is great.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think more celebrities, I would like to see more celebrities do that.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: People will say, well, you're an actor, you should act, no.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: First, we're all human beings, and we have a right to express our opinions, and we should, when you see something wrong and you have that podium, we don't all have that podium, we don't all have that to speak out, and if you have it, I think you should use it.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if I was a Bruce Springsteen level celebrity, I'm close, but I'm not quite there.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: I would use that platform.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: to, to, to, to, to, to, to highlight things that are not good or highlight things that are really good.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: One of the two.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: And not just sit back and say, well, you know, I'm an actor.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to lose half my fans because I said this.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_01]: then you're not being true to yourself.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: But I also think that you're talking about the way things were versus the way they are now.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_00]: So mental health and having mental health issues back in the 80s and early 90s was like unorthodox.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: And you said something about it.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: You were looked at like you had three left eyes.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_00]: So I think
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's we have we have grown substantially in the way that we understand mental health and that it really is and I think that this is a perfect time for Bruce to be able to do this and to say hey you know what I struggled with it through the 80s and and let me show you some of what happened and and like I said Kudos because that's more what we need and yeah that's where this whole thing now goes now the movie is not just about his division and that kind of stuff the movies about what he goes through to to get the songs and
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: that kind of stuff.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: And there's some soundtrack is great.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely great music and the funny thing is that on the way home, I listen to Nebraska for the first time.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: That's cool.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: And there are some excellent songs on that album.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_00]: Now I fully understand why he wanted to do what he wanted to do.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_00]: That was his way of getting his depression out there.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_00]: And it shows.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I bet you after this movie,
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: a lot of people are going to go get in Nebraska if they don't have it.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: And they're going to relate to every single song and they're just like he did.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: Which is a good thing.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_00]: I love movies to do that.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_00]: So nine.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: is what I'm close with your nine nine and a nine to nine and a half.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm eight and a half nine.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a strong nine for sure.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: Would I see this movie again?
- 28:07[SPEAKER_00]: I would.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: I would actually I would go so far as to probably buy a blue ray copy of this movie just so that I could watch what I don't know that I'd go that far because I don't have a blue ray machine so it would just sit on a on a cabinet.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: Then I still have a VCR purchase it digitally.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I would.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do that.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_01]: So, I don't do digital.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, well, okay, I'm old school.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so speaking of old school.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, now we go to old school.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go to old school.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_00]: So, what is your talking about Rocky Manor?
- 28:42[SPEAKER_00]: Rocky Manor is your back.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_00]: Or bio-packs.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_00]: Bio-packs.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: Why don't you want to call them?
- 28:47[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, what is your runner-up?
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, before I get to my run room, let's just say there have been so many great movies like this, what's the love we got to do with it?
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: Emma Diaz, Rocket Man, walk the line.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_00]: and present and bring up Beethoven.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: Ray, which one?
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: Beethoven.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: Mr. Mughal, I did it, nowadays.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: No, that's Mozart.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's Mozart, I'm sorry.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_01]: Bird, Charlie Parker story.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: Ladies, things to blues.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: Selena, there's just a ton.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to pick two, really, from the solicit that I put together.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_01]: There's a couple of things about each one if I may, if you will, indulge me.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: Just first of all, get on up.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: uh... welcome back to that let me do this one first uh... lady sings a blues the annoross was really good in my opinion Richard fryer was off the charts in that movie Richard fryer just absolutely and to me killed that role so for the viewers and listeners who don't know what that movies about give us a quick synopsis of what that is who is that is that i can tina
- 30:06[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, that's what's love got to do with it.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: Lady sings the blues with Dana Ross.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: Is it Billy Holiday?
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's sort of like a Billy Holiday story, but it's really not.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_01]: They don't ever say that.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's about a singer who gets into drugs.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: Richard Prior is her buddy and kind of drug dealer at the time, too.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: and goes through some stuff where they're just the music is fabulous.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: Dan or here's the first movie role, sort of like Whitney Houston in Bodyguard, same kind of situation.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: But to me Richard Prior was the movie.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: Then the other one that I wanted to just make a comment on, and then I'll tell you my runner-up was,
- 30:54[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'll give you my runner up, okay.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_01]: My runner-up is get on up, which is the James Brown story with Chadwick Osman, who was spectacular.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I don't know that anybody could have played that any better.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: And then when you, I mean, Dan Akroyd in this movie, and I'm not a Dan Akroyd fan, never really have been, but he was great, great.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: And the movie itself got great insight into how James Brown became such an icon.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: And still was able to show his many, many, many, many flaws.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought Bozman just carried the day with that role, and the dancing and the music.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: All of it was, you know, I grew up the James Brown era.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: So he's one of my go-to guys.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_01]: Elvis, a studied James Brown for a lot of his stuff.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: Got a lot of inspiration from him.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's Mick Jagger, attributes a lot of his dancing moves that he kind of does, not as well as James Brown, but he attributes it to James Brown as well.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: So James Brown was an amazing influence, so be able to play and I kind of like that and make it work as well as Chad Week then.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's just, that was amazing.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: So that's my runner up and then I'll let you go and then I'll give you my number one.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so my runner-up takes us back to the late 60s or early 70s into the 80s as well, which through another playlist I discovered a song from this band that I totally forgot about, which was on this band actually did most of the soundtrack to that movie that came out.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was like 84, 85.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_00]: The movie is Flash Gordon.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_00]: So the band is queen queen.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so my runner up is bohemian rhapsody.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's your runner up.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_00]: That is my runner up.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he was great in that directed by Brian singer.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, which is kind of interesting.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, they did some stuff to make him look more like Freddie Mercury.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_00]: He had the teeth, the implants, so to speak, and whatnot.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_00]: But you know, just an all-around fabulous movie, we were talking about Rocket Man.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_00]: And some people that you would say that were like, how did you not know that he was gay?
- 33:47[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously Freddie Mercury was gay as well too.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_00]: maybe, but I know it's straight up.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_00]: Well, but Elton was married.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_00]: And so it was Freddy.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_00]: So we can, we can leave that for a different discussion as well.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_00]: And by married, I mean, two females.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the number males was, you know, one of those manager things you got to, perhaps, I think.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_00]: And, and perhaps it was back in the 70s and that was the thing to do so that, you know, you had a relationship with a woman
- 34:21[SPEAKER_00]: Or it could have been that was the time when they both realized you know what no, I'm gay and I should not be married It could be that too.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter We're not gonna speculate here any love who you love.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but if you haven't seen Bohemian Rhapsody What are you doing?
- 34:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it is absolutely fabulous.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_00]: It is a great movie and just takes you on a roller coaster ride Through one of the greatest rock band absolutely time
- 34:46[SPEAKER_00]: But that being said, there's a rock band that's a leaving greater and that rock band is gonna be my particular first pick So what is your number one?
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, my number one.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna go back to 1991 Okay, now I definitely know that you and I have not picked the same movie No, you probably have never even heard of this movie or this person although you might have
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: Let me tell you, first of all, what Ernest Hemingway said about the woman whose life this is based on, okay, Ernest Hemingway said, she's the most sensual woman anybody will ever saw or will ever see Ernest Hemingway said that about her.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: and it's the Josephine Baker story.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I know, she is.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: just an amazing woman in her own right, played by Lynn Whitfield, Lewis Gassad Jr. and Ruben Blades, who's a big fan of Ruben.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: He's been in a lot of movies and he doesn't get a lot of plays.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: Also a fabulous Latin artist.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: He does, he does a lot of such a music.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's an amazing singer and then he acts too.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: And he's a really good actor.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't get as many roses as he should.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: But the story itself,
- 36:06[SPEAKER_01]: is so compelling and so well-tolled and Lin Woodfield does a beautiful job, what she really does.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: If you've never seen the Josephine Baker story, I think you can find it on prime.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's on prime.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_01]: I searched for it last night to see if I could get it.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I couldn't find it.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: But when I googled it, it said it was available on prime.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: That's my number one.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know that there's been a biographical movie that was so I mean at the end of the movie you knew everything you wanted to know about the struggles, the the successes of her life.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: It was a really, and well-acted, really well-acted, great-directed, quick.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: It was, they're not a slow part in the movie.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I don't like, especially biographies.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like where they did bog you down in one area for a long, long time.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes that happens a lot in different parts of movies, and then also on the speeds up, where they could have kept that more of a medium-tempo throughout the whole movie and made it better.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: This one, this one does.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_00]: So that's my number one.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_00]: So, my number one is for one of the greatest, if not the greatest, rock band of all time.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_00]: Led Zeppelin.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_02]: Ooh.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: So, my pick, of course, for best biopic, rocky memory of all time, is becoming Led Zeppelin, which just recently came out.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think at the beginning of this year, and it uses a mixture of new clips and new interview footage, as well as archive footage and things of that nature.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_00]: and takes you on the trip of what it was like to become Led Zeppelin.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that there are even for the truest of Led Zeppelin fans.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to be moments in this film if you haven't seen it already, where you're going to be like, wow, it's so cool to hear some of the stories, because they didn't always give you all the information back in the day of the band met and how they got started and stuff like that.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_00]: They gave you the story, but they give away some other tidbits here.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, the surviving members are all in it.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_00]: There is no actor in this movie at all.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_00]: It is complete footage from the band.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: So this is a doc you document.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_00]: So this is really a rock human, really, for all intents purposes.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_00]: But it's absolutely amazing.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_00]: If it ever comes back out and you get a chance to see it.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm at XC and I'm at XC because it's so awesome to be able to see all the life footage and everything.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, it'll be the closest thing you ever get to actually seeing leds up in life.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's probably never going to happen ever again.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's the way that it is.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, because I don't know.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_00]: Let's implement it, get a whole lot of love, right?
- 38:55[SPEAKER_00]: One of the songs they did, yeah, for sure.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think I sang that would have been a couple times.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, well, there you go.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a Zeppelin fan.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a rocker, rocker, rocker.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: I like rock music, but I'm not a rocker, rocker.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_01]: But there's some like Led Zeppelin and ACDC and Guns and Rose's.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_01]: Some of it, I like some of this stuff.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if you're a cover band, for instance, and you're doing hard rock and you play it well, I'll say you listen.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're a cover band and you do hard rock and you suck at it, I'm walking out.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: And that's with any genre.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think that goes with anyone.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_00]: If you suck people walk out.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_01]: But I can appreciate well played hard rock, even though that's not my thing.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: I can appreciate it if it's played well.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and there you go.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_00]: So those are the looks of the movies that we think you should go take a look at in case you haven't taken a look at him.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, we gave really good reviews on Springsteens, the latest movie for him.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_00]: And next week we're going to be reviewing the movie, right?
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: Which is Channing Tatum?
- 40:02[SPEAKER_00]: Channing Tatum.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I forgot who else is in it, but yeah.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: Peter Dinklage.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: We should we should
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think we'd be remiss if we didn't give a shout out to all the folks in the path of the hurricane this weekend.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, for sure.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: And make sure that we send our prayers and we hope that everybody's safe.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_01]: We hope that aid gets there quickly and effectively for the folks, especially those people in Jamaica and Cuba got hit.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty hard.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, Jamaica, the hardest hurricane.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: Five.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: biggest hurricane in February.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_01]: So our thoughts go out to all the folks that are families.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's already a body count, which is never, you never want to see that.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: No, you know.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, our hearts and hearts and purse out to those folks, for sure.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_00]: And with that note, that's going to end the episode.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_00]: So until next time, save us some popcorn.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_00]: Some cheesy popcorn, please.
