- 0:28Hey everybody good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Today we are talking about decisions you make and Co
- 0:34creating and what that all means, big conversation.
- 0:37But we're going to try to break it down just a tad and see if we
- 0:42can get some clarity on at least my beliefs of it.
- 0:45Because I think I, you know, I have been exposed to lots of
- 0:50different beliefs on this subject.
- 0:51And I think that what has I've learned has served me and I want
- 0:57to share it with all of you. So there is a debate going on
- 1:01about, you know, people in the world will love to talk about
- 1:06how they don't have choices. Things just seem to happen to
- 1:10them. And I am of the belief that
- 1:14sometimes things do happen. You know, I was 10 years old and
- 1:18my dad had a heart attack and I didn't have any control over
- 1:22that. I had no control over that
- 1:24whatsoever. However, he had some control
- 1:28over that. He didn't have to smoke, he
- 1:30didn't have to eat the way he ate, and he didn't have to make
- 1:35the choices he made for himself in those conditions that caused
- 1:39his body to get the way that it was.
- 1:41Now, we could sit here and debate all day long if he
- 1:45understood it, if he knew about it, if he was informed.
- 1:49Did the cigarette companies inform them back in the 70s that
- 1:52this is what was going on? Probably not.
- 1:57But were there signs that he was not?
- 2:00Well, yes. He took high blood pressure
- 2:02medication. Was he seeing a doctor for it?
- 2:05Yes. Did a doctor tell him to stop
- 2:07smoking? Yes.
- 2:08Did he continue to smoke anyway? Yes.
- 2:11So was IA victim of the situation or was IA victim of
- 2:17his choices? And you got to know, I mean, I'm
- 2:19talking about somebody that was my person.
- 2:21My father was my person. I loved him more than I can,
- 2:25Can't even explain. So this isn't about putting
- 2:28blame on anyone. This is about operating with
- 2:31awareness and the understanding of what choices you make as a
- 2:36person affect other people in ways when they don't have
- 2:41anything to say about it, IE kids.
- 2:43However, most adults have lots of different options and lots of
- 2:48different choices. I think lots of things that
- 2:51happened to you when you're a kid.
- 2:53But you're right, we don't have a lot of control over those.
- 2:55What we do have control over though is what we believe about
- 2:59them. We have control over them.
- 3:02We can take that, you know, as a as an adult and say this is what
- 3:07that event meant to me. This is how I assign it or I can
- 3:11stay in that mentality of what it brought to me and and suffer
- 3:16my entire life for something that happened when I was a kid.
- 3:19And I am of the belief that we have been given the universe has
- 3:23given us the ability to imagine, to create, to have emotions and
- 3:29feelings that are beyond any other creatures that we know of.
- 3:32Although there is some debate about that because elephants and
- 3:38other animals that are highly intelligent animals, dolphins
- 3:42have been shown to have very similar types of capabilities.
- 3:47We just don't know the fullest extent of it yet because the
- 3:50science hasn't caught up with it.
- 3:52However, I'm a firm believer that you know anything is
- 3:55possible and that's maybe that's true.
- 3:57Anyway, back to what I was saying.
- 3:59I think that we have, once we have the awareness, at whatever
- 4:05age that is, whatever age your awareness starts to develop, you
- 4:09start to be able to create thoughts and push yourself
- 4:13forward with them. So if your awareness comes in, I
- 4:16know when I was a child that awareness of him almost dying
- 4:21did change my perspective and did it make me a different
- 4:24person 100%? Am I?
- 4:27Was I grateful for that? Yeah, really was.
- 4:30And even though my mother was so anxious all the time, my
- 4:34mother's anxiety helped me to learn anxiety.
- 4:38But what that did in turn was help me to be a really, really
- 4:42driven person, to get rid of it. And it helped me to be a better
- 4:47coach, help everybody else out of it.
- 4:49So there are ways and perspectives that you can attach
- 4:52to anything. Now, could I have attached.
- 4:55I suffered from this when I was a child and it was a terrible
- 4:58thing. And I continued you to suffer
- 5:00for it my whole life. Yeah, but guess what?
- 5:02That's what the whole thing of free will, imagination,
- 5:06creativity does for us. It gives us the ability to Co
- 5:10create. And I was not going to stay in a
- 5:13mentality of a victim. I was not a victim of anything.
- 5:17Nothing. I am.
- 5:19I have the ability to change what I believe.
- 5:23And I think that's what's so empowering about having this.
- 5:26And that's why I'm talking about it.
- 5:28I mean, is it a controversial subject to talk about?
- 5:31Yeah, it is. Because some people want to stay
- 5:34in that place of, oh, this happened to me instead of, you
- 5:38know what? It happened.
- 5:40And I have a choice about what I believe about it.
- 5:42I have a choice about what I can take from it.
- 5:44I have a choice about how I want to cultivate myself from this
- 5:47moving forward. I don't have to choose to think
- 5:51that this happened as the phrase goes.
- 5:55And again, this, even this phrase is controversial to some
- 5:57people. It happened to me.
- 6:00It is is the way they choose. But the phrase that I always
- 6:03like to say is, well, did it happen for you or to you?
- 6:06And some people get really and it just pissed off about that
- 6:10phrase because they're like, well, how could it happen for
- 6:13me? I mean, this is terrible, but it
- 6:15those moments give you the ability to shape.
- 6:19It's kind of like that whole thing about a Pearl does not
- 6:22form unless it's under the pressure of that oyster creating
- 6:27it. A diamond does not form unless
- 6:30it that it's under the pressure of turning that coal into that
- 6:33diamond. And sometimes the pressure comes
- 6:36from the pains and sometimes the pressure is what we need.
- 6:40Sometimes things crack under pressure.
- 6:42But I think the interesting thing about human beings is we
- 6:45have the choice. We do have the choice.
- 6:49We do have the choice. So I'm just throwing it out
- 6:52there for some food for thought. Today you have the choice about
- 6:55your situations, about what you believe about them and what you
- 6:58want to see and what you want to focus on.
- 7:00So you can Co create with the universe.
- 7:03You can Co create with God and you can make decisions and move
- 7:07forward in such a powerful way. So I hope you have a great day
- 7:10Co creating and I hope that this is helpful to you to hear some
- 7:15different perspectives on this and I hope you have a blessed
- 7:20day. I'll see you tomorrow.
- 7:21Bye.
