- 0:01Speaker 1: The plays in Confused. Podcast is rated M for marijuana
- 0:04Speaker 1: no minors. But your audience is only.
- 0:08Speaker 2: A lot of people don't know how to talk on
- 0:09Speaker 2: a microphone. Have you ever noticed that they're very afraid
- 0:11Speaker 2: of it. They're very afraid of it.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Yeah, you're afraid of a microphone, Andy, No, I use
- 0:15Speaker 1: one frequently. Do you good? Why do you use a
- 0:17Speaker 1: microphone frequently? Services in the funeral home? Oh okay, so
- 0:21Speaker 1: what all does that entail? Do you do speeches or
- 0:24Speaker 1: how does that work?
- 0:25Speaker 2: So?
- 0:25Speaker 1: Typically I introduce whoever's speaking, welcome everybody, you know, thank
- 0:30Speaker 1: them for coming. So you like run the service as
- 0:32Speaker 1: a funeral director? Yeah, that's what I do. So what's
- 0:35Speaker 1: your full title? Just funeral director?
- 0:38Speaker 2: So I realize though, if you're a funeral director, you're
- 0:40Speaker 2: like you're the glorified pastor for lack of a better term,
- 0:44Speaker 2: now no kind of way to describe.
- 0:45Speaker 1: It, kind of like an mc right see the funeral
- 0:48Speaker 1: set me up? I want that dr Man, welcome everybody
- 0:53Speaker 1: to a funeral? Are there some like weird like requests
- 0:58Speaker 1: you get from families or like that? Sometimes? For instance,
- 1:01Speaker 1: I saw a video one time where the family wanted,
- 1:04Speaker 1: like the body to be like like looking like they
- 1:06Speaker 1: were still alive and like doing something they love. I'm
- 1:10Speaker 1: not even lying. Maybe you saw this on the internet.
- 1:12Speaker 1: It's like a video of this person propped up in
- 1:14Speaker 1: a chair. I think they were playing cards or something
- 1:17Speaker 1: like they were hanging out. Have you ever had like
- 1:19Speaker 1: a weird request from a family like that or has
- 1:21Speaker 1: it been very traditional? No? Yeah, I get a lot
- 1:24Speaker 1: of traditional stuff. Would you do something like that if
- 1:27Speaker 1: they had a weird request? Yeah, I mean if it's
- 1:31Speaker 1: feasible yeah, and respectful yeah yeah. Playing cards? To god,
- 1:36Speaker 1: it was like, that's a little weird. They had the
- 1:38Speaker 1: person roped off and it was just like they were
- 1:40Speaker 1: having like music was playing. They wanted it to seem like, oh,
- 1:43Speaker 1: they were still here and doing something they really liked.
- 1:45Speaker 1: And this person would have been hanging out playing cards
- 1:47Speaker 1: and listening to music, you know. Just yeah, I'm pretty
- 1:50Speaker 1: sure they call that an extreme embalming. Extreme embalming, what
- 1:54Speaker 1: does that mean? I mean you really have to put
- 1:58Speaker 1: a lot of effort into what you're doing, imposed and
- 2:00Speaker 1: positioned and explain to me how this works.
- 2:02Speaker 2: So you die and then like if I say I die,
- 2:06Speaker 2: but I want you to be my funeral director. So
- 2:08Speaker 2: like my family like calls you up, so I die,
- 2:11Speaker 2: you come pick up my body and then my body
- 2:14Speaker 2: shits for a couple of days and then you take
- 2:15Speaker 2: all the blood out and embalm me.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Is that the way it works?
- 2:18Speaker 3: No, So if you opt for embalming, that's something that
- 2:22Speaker 3: we need to do sooner than later. So we need
- 2:26Speaker 3: to secure permission and then as soon as we get
- 2:29Speaker 3: back to the funeral home, we would do the embalming.
- 2:32Speaker 1: And it's not as much as possible.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, because you have better results the closer
- 2:37Speaker 3: to death rather than you know, the further way.
- 2:40Speaker 2: So people that don't want embalming, what's the other option,
- 2:42Speaker 2: like getting cremated.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Or Yeah, so if you don't want embalming, you would
- 2:46Speaker 3: just be kept in refrigeration either until the funeral if
- 2:49Speaker 3: you want to casket burial or cremation.
- 2:52Speaker 2: So why do people choose embalming? Then a lot of
- 2:56Speaker 2: it is cultural, right, or some of it.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Is cultural just, but if you one of viewing of
- 3:00Speaker 3: any sort, it's just much more advantageous to do embalming
- 3:05Speaker 3: because the goal of balming is to preserve, disinfect and
- 3:10Speaker 3: restore right. So, for example, if you have somebody that
- 3:15Speaker 3: has you know, been you know, battling cancer for several months. Right,
- 3:20Speaker 3: they're severely emaciated. There are things that we can do
- 3:24Speaker 3: during the embalming process to kind of restore some of
- 3:26Speaker 3: that weight so they don't look so gaunt. Gotcha? Which
- 3:30Speaker 3: is how do you do that? Comforting to families?
- 3:33Speaker 2: Then?
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah, when they see them, you know, they don't ask
- 3:36Speaker 1: and ask how you do that?
- 3:37Speaker 2: Like you got to like drain the blood first.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's not it's not like you just like,
- 3:45Speaker 3: you know, make an incision and let a doll dream down.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Then that's why you're not. It works by pressure.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Right, So when you embalm, so typically the most common
- 3:59Speaker 3: is you go it's called super clavicular incision, so right
- 4:05Speaker 3: above the collarbone here right, and you go in through
- 4:09Speaker 3: the jugular so it's kind of like the reverse of
- 4:13Speaker 3: the circulatory system. So you're injecting into the jugular and
- 4:19Speaker 3: then you're coming out through the croit artery, which is
- 4:23Speaker 3: where you're getting your drainage. So it's essentially kind of
- 4:26Speaker 3: like by pressure.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Is how that happened? Interesting? These are all very genuine questions.
- 4:32Speaker 1: By the way, I want the listening audience that we
- 4:35Speaker 1: brought somebody on today to learn. We're here to learn,
- 4:38Speaker 1: and also because of Talloween season, and we thought it'd
- 4:41Speaker 1: be cool to have a funeral director of the show.
- 4:44Speaker 2: I think we're unofficially starting a series where we invite
- 4:46Speaker 2: people on that have, like, you know, real jobs, and
- 4:49Speaker 2: we asked you about there. We asked them about their
- 4:50Speaker 2: real job. I don't have a real job. That's a
- 4:52Speaker 2: real job. Everybody for tell you that you have a
- 4:54Speaker 2: real freaking job.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Man. You know. Actually, back in the day before I
- 4:58Speaker 1: decided what I wanted to do one when I wanted
- 5:00Speaker 1: to go to school for culinary Then I ultimately went
- 5:02Speaker 1: to school for broadcasting in radio and TV. But I
- 5:04Speaker 1: also was interested in the funeral, the funeral life, and
- 5:07Speaker 1: I actually used to hang out Slash, a data girl
- 5:10Speaker 1: who worked at an industry for a little dead. You're
- 5:12Speaker 1: too emotional.
- 5:13Speaker 2: You could never do it, you think so, yeah, but
- 5:15Speaker 2: around it, like baby, you can't. You can't do that,
- 5:18Speaker 2: no offense or anything. But I mean, I am aside
- 5:22Speaker 2: you are.
- 5:23Speaker 1: How could you be around death and dead people every day?
- 5:25Speaker 1: You could never do it? Maybe maybe if I started early.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Now I'm an emotional mess. I mean in all seriousness, though,
- 5:33Speaker 2: I mean being a funeral director. That takes a special
- 5:35Speaker 2: person to be around that all the time.
- 5:38Speaker 1: So when did you think, When did you learn or
- 5:40Speaker 1: realize that that was something that you wanted to do?
- 5:42Speaker 1: What like it became your calling? Is this something because
- 5:45Speaker 1: you like helping people? Or you went to a funeral
- 5:47Speaker 1: when you.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Were a kid and notice something, or yeah, so I'm
- 5:51Speaker 3: a first generation funeral director, which means nobody in my
- 5:53Speaker 3: family has done it proNT with me. I got interested
- 5:57Speaker 3: when I was a kid, I would say, probably like
- 6:00Speaker 3: junior high. And it was really something like so benign,
- 6:03Speaker 3: Like there was this funeral home in town. It was
- 6:05Speaker 3: just so cool looking, and I just it was genuine curiosity,
- 6:09Speaker 3: like what happens there? And you know, then I went
- 6:13Speaker 3: to a funeral at that funeral home and I was like,
- 6:15Speaker 3: this is pretty interesting. So so you weren't afraid you
- 6:20Speaker 3: were more interested? Yeah, I would say I initially got
- 6:25Speaker 3: into it because I'm very much perfectionist and that kind
- 6:28Speaker 3: of I don't know meets my needs. But over time, obviously,
- 6:33Speaker 3: like I I'm in it for various reasons.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Now, I mean obviously I'm.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Very sincere and I believe that people should be met
- 6:41Speaker 3: with compassion, you know, and I can do that.
- 6:44Speaker 1: And how long have you been doing that? Now? Oh god,
- 6:48Speaker 1: that's a good question. When did you start?
- 6:52Speaker 3: So I started working in funeral homes I want to
- 6:55Speaker 3: say like two thousand ish, okay, but I officially became
- 7:01Speaker 3: licensed in the state in two twenty twenty one.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Okay. So is the schooling on this like extremely difficult?
- 7:11Speaker 3: Yeah, if you're not a sciences person, because yeah, you're out, Sorry, Joe.
- 7:16Speaker 3: I mean I'm not a sciencest person either, but luckily
- 7:20Speaker 3: I'm married to somebody who is, gotcha, So that helps.
- 7:24Speaker 3: But yeah, no, I mean you went to Northampton, right,
- 7:26Speaker 3: I did? Yeah, so they have a program there, gotcha.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Do you know I went to Northampton?
- 7:30Speaker 3: I forget where I came by, you know, to a
- 7:32Speaker 3: little Facebook stocking before you get.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Oh okay, nice, great, Yeah I didn't stock you, you know,
- 7:41Speaker 1: the creepy one. A lot of funeral directors don't. They
- 7:46Speaker 1: live in their homes, are in the business they work in. Yeah,
- 7:50Speaker 1: it's a little weird in it.
- 7:51Speaker 3: It used to be super super common, more and more
- 7:55Speaker 3: creative separately from the building.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Well, here's you've touched on an interesting point before you
- 7:58Speaker 1: said that you saw the building where you when you
- 8:00Speaker 1: were younger and thought it looked interesting or you were
- 8:03Speaker 1: curious about what went on in there. Why is it
- 8:05Speaker 1: that funeral homes always look so interesting? They look like
- 8:08Speaker 1: mansions most like? Is there a reason for.
- 8:11Speaker 3: That or is it just because honestly, a lot of
- 8:14Speaker 3: the funeral homes are converted old mansions. You know, they
- 8:16Speaker 3: were a mansion first they went up for sale, and
- 8:19Speaker 3: because because of the size of them, there's the space
- 8:21Speaker 3: to to have services, have your embalming room, et cetera.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's why they typically are old mansions. Very cool.
- 8:29Speaker 2: It is a little stranger. There's there's funeral directors that
- 8:32Speaker 2: live like you know where they work.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Yeah, but I guess it makes.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Sense though that you never know when you're gonna get
- 8:37Speaker 2: the call you gotta go pick up somebody.
- 8:39Speaker 1: But didn't even show you go pick up somebody. You
- 8:41Speaker 1: just put them in the refrigerator. Go. So years ago,
- 8:44Speaker 1: I would hang out with this girl and we were
- 8:46Speaker 1: for a while, and she'd be out to dinner and
- 8:49Speaker 1: she'd be like, we gotta go pick up a body
- 8:53Speaker 1: with her. I go with her. Yeah, we would go
- 8:55Speaker 1: to the funeral home, she'd get the van and we go.
- 8:57Speaker 1: She would go to the hospital or wherever. I would
- 8:59Speaker 1: wait in the van and him in the back, and
- 9:01Speaker 1: then we would go and drop the person off. I
- 9:03Speaker 1: don't know about that. You know that's a little too
- 9:06Speaker 1: much for you.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but really though, you did pick a great profession
- 9:09Speaker 2: because you're never gonna like, there's never gonna be a
- 9:11Speaker 2: shortage of work. People are gonna keep dying, right unless, unless,
- 9:14Speaker 2: of course, you know, the scientists come up with the
- 9:15Speaker 2: magic pill that everybody lives forever. Then then what happens
- 9:18Speaker 2: If the magic pill is birth, then what happens to
- 9:21Speaker 2: the funeral directors?
- 9:22Speaker 1: I mean, think of it this way. We just solved autism,
- 9:24Speaker 1: so you never know. On that note, Andy is our
- 9:31Speaker 1: guest today on episode twenty one, and he's a funeral director.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Is kicking off our month of We'll put it in
- 9:37Speaker 1: air quotes spoofyboo, Yes, yeah, Andy, you gotta be a
- 9:40Speaker 1: little spooky. We gotta work. It's the Blaze that Confused podcast.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Let's kick it off.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Welcome to the Blazed and Confused Podcast with Becker and
- 9:50Speaker 4: Joel Cent trivia podcast where the questions are high and
- 9:54Speaker 4: So are they hates trying to spuk your curiosity and
- 9:58Speaker 4: light up some knowledge. Go Blazed and Confused podcast starts now.
- 10:06Speaker 2: And maybe we'll get around to change it up that
- 10:08Speaker 2: we're gonna fix that this way, Well maybe.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Next week, maybe a week after. Yeah, it's the Blaze
- 10:13Speaker 1: That Confused Podcast. My name is Becker. That's my good
- 10:15Speaker 1: friend Joel. Today's guest Andy funeral director, and it's gonna
- 10:20Speaker 1: be an interesting show. We have a couple of top
- 10:22Speaker 1: topics we want to touch on with you. We have
- 10:23Speaker 1: some questions and like, for instance, have you ever had
- 10:26Speaker 1: a funeral service that didn't go right?
- 10:30Speaker 2: Not because of something that you did, like family drama,
- 10:33Speaker 2: but maybe some family drama? Funeral family drama? Has that
- 10:37Speaker 2: ever been a thing with you?
- 10:39Speaker 1: It's it's not on common. So is there a story
- 10:42Speaker 1: that really kind of sticks out in your career? Luckily no,
- 10:48Speaker 1: obviously you want to avoid that at all costs.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Yeah. Unfortunately, death, you know, brings out a lot of
- 10:54Speaker 3: emotion and a lot of tension. Yeah, and with that
- 11:00Speaker 3: comes family drama.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Well I only asked this question because recently Joel
- 11:04Speaker 1: and I went to a funeral, yeah, where an altercation
- 11:11Speaker 1: happened Is that what you call it?
- 11:12Speaker 2: You call it an altercation. I think it was approaching
- 11:15Speaker 2: an alternate. I was hiding, just so you know. I
- 11:18Speaker 2: didn't want anything to do with it. Yeah, and we should,
- 11:20Speaker 2: we should, I mean backped a little bit. It's not
- 11:22Speaker 2: it wasn't a funeral. It was a celebration of life. Yes,
- 11:25Speaker 2: so there's a memorial dinner. Memorial dinner a little bit different. Yeah,
- 11:29Speaker 2: I guess there was somebody there that supposedly shouldn't have
- 11:34Speaker 2: been there. They weren't invited, They weren't invited, but they
- 11:36Speaker 2: showed up anyway. They should have been invited, but they
- 11:38Speaker 2: should have been invited. But still if you're not invited, like,
- 11:41Speaker 2: why would you come if you're specifically told don't show up?
- 11:44Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 11:44Speaker 2: Me, personally, I wouldn't have come regardless of the situation.
- 11:48Speaker 2: But anyway, supposedly this person was specifically told do not come.
- 11:51Speaker 2: They came anyway, and it turned into this whole big.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Get out of here. Yeah, I leave right now. I
- 11:58Speaker 1: was in the bar area, just getting a die code,
- 12:00Speaker 1: and I was having a conversation with the bartender and
- 12:02Speaker 1: I was like, what kind of so do you guy?
- 12:03Speaker 1: You love him? And all of a sudden. I hear
- 12:06Speaker 1: get out. She said, get out of here, and I
- 12:11Speaker 1: was like, what, you are not welcome.
- 12:13Speaker 2: I turned, I make high contact with him. He's sitting
- 12:16Speaker 2: across the room and I'm like, and I was just
- 12:19Speaker 2: sitting there drinking my beer. Yeah, yeah, just you know,
- 12:22Speaker 2: it was the ultimate celebration of life because there was
- 12:25Speaker 2: alcohol involved, so it was quite a celebration. Yeah yeah,
- 12:28Speaker 2: but it could have went a little bit better. They
- 12:30Speaker 2: could have went a lot better, could win a lot better.
- 12:33Speaker 2: And here's the other thing too. I mean, you know
- 12:35Speaker 2: it's bad if me, of all people is pointing out God,
- 12:37Speaker 2: you could have acted like an adult.
- 12:38Speaker 1: That's that's how you know it's bad. Right, If I'm
- 12:40Speaker 1: the one saying that.
- 12:41Speaker 2: True, the person that supposedly wasn't invited, well, if they
- 12:44Speaker 2: weren't invited, you could have gone up to him and
- 12:46Speaker 2: just tapped him on the shoulder and said, can I
- 12:48Speaker 2: talk to you in the hallway. That's my point. And
- 12:50Speaker 2: then once you're in the hallway, getting the hell out.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Once you're in the hallway, that's when you say out
- 12:54Speaker 2: of here.
- 12:54Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, not in front of you know, sixty
- 12:57Speaker 1: people or whatever it was. It was very awkward. Then
- 12:59Speaker 1: and people left. It was kind of like a bummer,
- 13:01Speaker 1: you know, yeah, comfortable.
- 13:03Speaker 2: So in the circumstances in your experience the drama that
- 13:08Speaker 2: has happened, has it ever been like a thing where, uh,
- 13:11Speaker 2: they would have wanted this kind of service and they
- 13:15Speaker 2: were going to get this kind of service and it
- 13:16Speaker 2: was like a family feud?
- 13:17Speaker 1: Is that what it was? Or yeah, there's a lot
- 13:19Speaker 1: of that.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's you know, kind of in some ways,
- 13:22Speaker 3: you're kind of like playing referee, like yes, but you
- 13:26Speaker 3: also have to be like your Switzerland, like you're not
- 13:28Speaker 3: taking anybody's side, but just like y yeah, because.
- 13:31Speaker 1: You want to be gather passionate. You understand that that
- 13:33Speaker 1: emotions are, you know, at an all time high, but
- 13:37Speaker 1: in your head are you kind of like therese are
- 13:39Speaker 1: fucking nuts? Come on, tell us the truth. Man, what
- 13:47Speaker 1: a day? Get out of here.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, let's get into trivia. Yeah all right, Andy, So
- 13:52Speaker 2: we're gonna do the rapid round with you. You know how
- 13:54Speaker 2: this works? Vaguely vaguely, he vaguely knows how this works.
- 13:59Speaker 2: You get ten questions, got answer them in sixty seconds.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Some of them are easy. Are you good at trivia
- 14:04Speaker 2: or not?
- 14:04Speaker 1: Really? It depends on kind of the area when we.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Get a little bit of everything. Yeah, yeah, cool, let's
- 14:09Speaker 2: give it a try. Alright, right, yeah, okay, the.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Game begins in three All right, mister Andy.
- 14:18Speaker 2: What are the four time zones in the continental US?
- 14:23Speaker 3: Eastern, Pacific, Central, one more, wrap Road?
- 14:30Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, most of them? What part of the
- 14:33Speaker 1: cell contains DNA? Oh? Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no, married
- 14:39Speaker 1: to Oh that's right? Who founded Microsoft? Bill Gates? You
- 14:43Speaker 1: got it? What color do you get when you mix
- 14:46Speaker 1: red and blue?
- 14:47Speaker 2: Hmm?
- 14:49Speaker 1: Purple?
- 14:50Speaker 2: Yeah? What's a baby goat called a kid? Yeah, you
- 14:54Speaker 2: knew that one right away. What is the plural of
- 14:56Speaker 2: cactus cacti? What's Batman's real name? Kind of question?
- 15:01Speaker 1: Bruce Wayne Gott. How do you know that what galaxy
- 15:03Speaker 1: is Earth located in? Hmmm? Yeah? What's a group of
- 15:10Speaker 1: fish called oh? School? Got it? What is a male
- 15:14Speaker 1: deer called buck? Got it? And what's Batman's real name?
- 15:19Speaker 1: Did you get that one? Yeah? Did you get that one?
- 15:21Speaker 2: What's the other one you didn't get the part of
- 15:24Speaker 2: the sale that contains DNA?
- 15:25Speaker 1: Is it mitochondria? No?
- 15:27Speaker 2: I actually remember this though. The mitochondria is the energy, right,
- 15:31Speaker 2: the powerhouse. That's where the energy comes from. I only
- 15:34Speaker 2: know that because I took biology like nine times because
- 15:36Speaker 2: I failed. I'm also not a scientist. Eventually that part stuck.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I guess maybe the answer to that one wasn't the
- 15:42Speaker 2: nucleus nucleus And the one time zone you didn't get
- 15:46Speaker 2: was Mountain Mountain time Eastern.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Central Mountain, Pacific. I think you got the oh, what
- 15:51Speaker 1: galaxy is Earth located in? That was the Milky Way?
- 15:55Speaker 2: Pearl of cactuses a cacti? Wait, no, pearl pearl plural
- 16:02Speaker 2: of a cactus, cacti. Yeah, oh the galaxy that Earth
- 16:07Speaker 2: is located and you don't know that one.
- 16:08Speaker 1: I just went over that Milky Way. Did you just
- 16:10Speaker 1: say that? Yeah, like right before you started talking. Wow,
- 16:13Speaker 1: you're sober today.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I know. This is why I got to stop, because
- 16:17Speaker 2: my brain is just mush man. Even when I'm sober.
- 16:20Speaker 1: It's so bad. It's bad.
- 16:22Speaker 5: Man.
- 16:22Speaker 1: He did pretty well with those.
- 16:25Speaker 2: These questions were kind of stupid again, though better about
- 16:28Speaker 2: they're all over the place. I mean, yeah, plural of cactus.
- 16:32Speaker 2: How do you go from that to a group of fish?
- 16:34Speaker 2: A group of fish and a male deer. I'm glad
- 16:36Speaker 2: that I know a school and a buck. Today I'm
- 16:38Speaker 2: learning a.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Lotso by the way, when I asked the question about
- 16:41Speaker 1: Batman's real name, he was like, you didn't think he
- 16:43Speaker 1: would get it? Right? It's very common. Is everyone who
- 16:47Speaker 1: knows that? Everybody super famous? I guess you had to
- 16:51Speaker 1: be there a super famous character. Remember, remember, gentlemen, that's
- 16:54Speaker 1: seven years old, by the way, exactly, and my generation
- 16:56Speaker 1: of Batman is like the Dark Night. Yeah, but he's
- 16:59Speaker 1: still Did he have a name in that?
- 17:02Speaker 2: Did they say his name in that? It's always been
- 17:03Speaker 2: Bruce Wayne. Who knew that?
- 17:05Speaker 1: I didn't know that? Oh my god, I do that.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I don't know that. The age gap it works against
- 17:10Speaker 1: me a lot.
- 17:11Speaker 2: But furthermore, though I was never really into the superheroes.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Superheroes are kind of boring me. He's more of a
- 17:16Speaker 1: vigilante though, isn't he. He doesn't have any superpowers. Yeah,
- 17:19Speaker 1: bad Man doesn't have any superpowers.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Now. He just has a bunch of gadgets. All that belt,
- 17:23Speaker 2: that's all it is, the belt in the car. You
- 17:25Speaker 2: have a lot to watch. Yeah, but he has a
- 17:27Speaker 2: belt with all the tools on him. Yeah, the original.
- 17:30Speaker 2: So what's the superhero that has the most superpower Superman probably, Yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 1: What are the other contenders? Though? Oh? Man, I can't
- 17:39Speaker 1: even superhero guy. I don't know superheroes. Yeah I don't either.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I just know Thatman, you're about to learn absolutely nothing.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Go Blazed and Confused podcast.
- 17:54Speaker 2: I tell you, I got some fun new categories, some
- 17:56Speaker 2: fun new categories for questions. For instance, I wanted this music.
- 18:01Speaker 2: For instance. Coins and currency.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Oh god, you know, I thought about that today because
- 18:07Speaker 1: that guy wants to make a new coin. You know,
- 18:10Speaker 1: have you heard about that? Oh, for the order fiftieth
- 18:13Speaker 1: anniversary of the country. Is his face gonna be on it?
- 18:15Speaker 4: I know?
- 18:16Speaker 2: Oh? Is it?
- 18:17Speaker 1: I'm asking it?
- 18:18Speaker 5: Is?
- 18:19Speaker 1: I want my face on a coin? You should have
- 18:21Speaker 1: ask me. I'll put my face on Yeah, the Joel coin.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Yeah great.
- 18:27Speaker 2: All right, let's get started with the coins and currency
- 18:30Speaker 2: question number one. All right, So Andy, you know you're
- 18:33Speaker 2: our lifeline, right, Okay, So we can come to you
- 18:36Speaker 2: once per round and we're gonna instate. Though the law
- 18:39Speaker 2: now that you can't ask the person if they know
- 18:42Speaker 2: before they answer.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Well, when Albi was here, I was asking him quite
- 18:45Speaker 1: a bit. But the one question that every week, but
- 18:47Speaker 1: the one question.
- 18:48Speaker 2: I did know the answer to I was just gonna
- 18:50Speaker 2: I want to make the guests feel included as much
- 18:52Speaker 2: as possible.
- 18:53Speaker 1: All right, all right, god, that sounds quite weird. Bit
- 18:56Speaker 1: it just sounds screwed up. Oh boy, I don't know
- 18:58Speaker 1: the earth. Hey, do you know the answer to this one.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna go to my lifeline. Come on to hell.
- 19:03Speaker 1: All right?
- 19:03Speaker 2: So coins and currency, there's only two US cities that
- 19:07Speaker 2: currently produce circulating US coins.
- 19:11Speaker 1: One of those cities is Philadelphia. Yeah. What's the other one? Huh? Yeah?
- 19:15Speaker 1: Do you know the cause I have an idea. I'm
- 19:20Speaker 1: just curious if Andy has an idea and you want
- 19:23Speaker 1: to look at him for.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Hints now, like you're looking at his face waiting for
- 19:26Speaker 2: him the signal if you're right around.
- 19:30Speaker 1: All right, So Philadelphia, I know for sure. My other
- 19:37Speaker 1: guess would be, is it somewhere in New York? No?
- 19:47Speaker 1: No final answer. No, it's a city, though I'm trying
- 19:51Speaker 1: to think of a city. Can you give me a hint? No,
- 19:57Speaker 1: I can't give you what east because coast?
- 20:00Speaker 2: Come on, I don't uh, I don't think it's by
- 20:04Speaker 2: a coast at all. Hmmm, it's like the middle coast Chicago. No, No,
- 20:10Speaker 2: I have no idea how Chicago. Correct answer is Denver, Colorado.
- 20:15Speaker 2: I did not know that Denver, Colorado. You didn't know
- 20:18Speaker 2: that either. I'm allowed to ask him now, Yeah, yeah,
- 20:21Speaker 2: ask what. I've never been to Colorado. Colorado's on my
- 20:24Speaker 2: bucket list. Gotta go. A ton of friends that live
- 20:27Speaker 2: there too.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah. And I've heard.
- 20:29Speaker 2: From multiple weed smokers that if you smoke weeding in uh, Colorado,
- 20:33Speaker 2: that it physically feels different because it's like it's a
- 20:36Speaker 2: different high. Yeah thing right, yeah, because you're up, You're
- 20:38Speaker 2: like inner mountain or whatever. Right, Well, that's great elevation.
- 20:42Speaker 2: It does something with the oxygen in your body or whatever.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I'm a scientist. Ye, next time you go to Colorado,
- 20:48Speaker 2: there you go. You can smoke some weed and get
- 20:51Speaker 2: some get some new coins.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Yeah, my face of it sounds like my kind of town,
- 20:55Speaker 1: except for the last part. God, question too, thanks a
- 20:57Speaker 1: lot a question too. I see your face enough. I
- 21:01Speaker 1: don't need in my freaking pocket. All right, how about
- 21:04Speaker 1: this bad movie descriptions? All right, I've never seen a
- 21:09Speaker 1: movie guy. Yeah, yeah, all right, big movie guy, big

- 21:15Speaker 1: of them, but a lot of them. R Yeah, you
- 21:16Speaker 1: go to the movies often when I get a chance.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I love going to the movies. He doesn't go to
- 21:21Speaker 1: the movie.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Mister Becker is the only person that I know that
- 21:25Speaker 2: goes to the movies with such enthusiasm, Like, not only
- 21:28Speaker 2: does he go to the movies, he loves who the
- 21:30Speaker 2: hell loves going and spends seventeen dollars on popcorn?
- 21:32Speaker 1: Who likes that? I don't. I actually very rarely buy
- 21:37Speaker 1: anything at the movie theater. So yeah, but how do
- 21:40Speaker 1: you do that? Then?
- 21:41Speaker 2: And then you sit in the movie theater and you
- 21:42Speaker 2: eat nothing? You need something, I'll have a snack beforehand.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Do you sneak something in? No? Sometimes? Sometimes? Sometimes? In
- 21:50Speaker 1: all seriousness, how much is like a large popcorn at
- 21:52Speaker 1: the movie theater?
- 21:53Speaker 6: No?
- 21:53Speaker 1: It's expensive? Is it seventeen? If you get if you
- 21:55Speaker 1: get like a large popcorn and a large soda, it's
- 21:58Speaker 1: like thirty dollars? What? No, it's it's so it's gonna
- 22:03Speaker 1: be like mid twenties. Jeez. Yeah, aren't you on like
- 22:06Speaker 1: the I have a membership?
- 22:08Speaker 2: Yeah, you have the three letter big movie chain, amweah?
- 22:13Speaker 1: Something like that? Yea, I have a sponsor. I have
- 22:16Speaker 1: a subscription to them. And it's twenty four dollars a
- 22:18Speaker 1: month and you get three movies a week. Yeah, you
- 22:21Speaker 1: for itself in one and a half movies. You and
- 22:23Speaker 1: six other people in the Greater Lehigh Valley. I have
- 22:25Speaker 1: that that's not true. A lot of people do. I
- 22:27Speaker 1: don't know how they make money over there at AMW.
- 22:29Speaker 2: And how many people are in that movie theater on
- 22:31Speaker 2: a Thursday night when you go? You and what I
- 22:36Speaker 2: do think I would?
- 22:37Speaker 1: I don't think I would. I know, all right, bad
- 22:39Speaker 1: movie description?
- 22:40Speaker 2: All right, good, I'm gonna give you an awful movie description,
- 22:42Speaker 2: and you tell me what the movie is.
- 22:44Speaker 1: All right.
- 22:44Speaker 2: A really smart janitor solves math problems and starts crying.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Bad movie descriptions.
- 22:53Speaker 2: A really smart janitor solves math problems and starts crying. Hmmm,
- 23:01Speaker 2: read it again, A really smart janitor solves math problems
- 23:06Speaker 2: and starts crying and starts crying.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna go to my LifeLock.
- 23:12Speaker 2: I know not, No, you have to now, you have
- 23:16Speaker 2: to now go to your life.
- 23:18Speaker 1: I know who's in it, but I can't think of
- 23:20Speaker 1: the can he look go ahead? He can, he can
- 23:22Speaker 1: help you come. Who's in it?
- 23:24Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure it's Matt Damon and Robin Williams.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Oh see, I don't know famous people. I know who
- 23:31Speaker 2: Rob Williams is, though, is it Damon could walk down the.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Street next to me. I have no idea. Who is now?
- 23:36Speaker 1: No idea?
- 23:40Speaker 2: If you want to answer today, I hold on? Wow,
- 23:43Speaker 2: oh man escaping me? That was a pretty good hit,
- 23:46Speaker 2: if I say so, my so, hold on, hold on?
- 23:48Speaker 1: Hold on? How much long am I supposed to hold?
- 23:50Speaker 2: All right?
- 23:52Speaker 1: All right? The answer is goodwill Hunt? You're an ass.
- 23:59Speaker 1: I remember watching that We got there. It's too freaking long. Yeah,
- 24:02Speaker 1: it goes on and on and on and on and on,
- 24:04Speaker 1: and all it is is math proms and I do
- 24:06Speaker 1: cry in the whole time. That's not all.
- 24:07Speaker 2: That's what. That's what I remember from that movie. It's
- 24:10Speaker 2: been a long time since I watched it. But you
- 24:12Speaker 2: didn't Hunt at all in that movie. By the way, Eh,
- 24:15Speaker 2: what huh?
- 24:16Speaker 1: What? Let's go to the next one.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Question three?
- 24:20Speaker 2: All right, Since I know you love this category so much,
- 24:24Speaker 2: we had to do it again this week the lyric challenge.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Great. I read the lyrics of the song are you
- 24:30Speaker 1: a music guy? Depending on the genre?
- 24:32Speaker 2: All Right, I read the lyrics of the song you
- 24:34Speaker 2: tell me what the song is lyric challenge, okay, And
- 24:37Speaker 2: it's whispered that soon. If we all call the tune,
- 24:42Speaker 2: then the piper will lead us to reason, and a
- 24:45Speaker 2: new day will dawn for those who stand long, and
- 24:49Speaker 2: the forests will echo with laughter.
- 24:53Speaker 1: He has no fucking idea he is. Oh, maybe he does.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead, sing it. It'll help if you're singing
- 24:59Speaker 2: to it music cloud. It really is distracting.
- 25:01Speaker 1: All right, sing do it one more time with that
- 25:05Speaker 1: music off, could you? And it's whispered, that's soon.
- 25:08Speaker 2: If we all call the tune, then the piper will
- 25:10Speaker 2: lead us to reason, and a new day will dawn
- 25:13Speaker 2: for those who stand long, and the forests will echo
- 25:17Speaker 2: with laughter.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Do the last couple, like the last part there one
- 25:20Speaker 1: more time, just the last part, and the echoes and
- 25:23Speaker 1: the forest will echo with laughter. It's not gonna come.
- 25:30Speaker 2: I know. It's just great because you got all four
- 25:32Speaker 2: correct last week, and now this week you're on tap
- 25:34Speaker 2: to get all four wrong.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Laughter. I go with laughter. No, no, damn it? What
- 25:44Speaker 1: is it? Stairway to Heaven? Shit?
- 25:48Speaker 2: How many times have you heard of that freaking song
- 25:49Speaker 2: in your lost trillion?
- 25:50Speaker 5: Yeah, and it's whispered that soon, if we all call
- 25:55Speaker 5: the tune, then the piper will lead us to reason
- 25:59Speaker 5: and a new day well done for those who stand long,
- 26:03Speaker 5: and the forest will echo with left.
- 26:09Speaker 2: What it makes me wonder? Never would have gotten that. No,
- 26:12Speaker 2: and I think we just lost like four followers.
- 26:13Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, Question four twenty what all right?
- 26:21Speaker 1: Our final question for mister Becker? Zero? All right?
- 26:26Speaker 2: Commercials and jingles, commercials and jingles for the final question
- 26:29Speaker 2: here I might get this one. What company uses the
- 26:32Speaker 2: phrase good to the last drop in their commercials? It
- 26:37Speaker 2: was a slogan supposedly coined by Theodore Roosevelt.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Good to the last drop. Huh, you're out of your lifeline?
- 26:48Speaker 1: Atney want to him? Stop looking at him? Good to
- 26:51Speaker 1: the last drop? I will say too.
- 26:54Speaker 2: This company has been in the spotlight as of recently.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Good to the last drop. Man, I really am going
- 27:07Speaker 1: to get four wrong this week. Good to the I
- 27:10Speaker 1: mean my guess would be like a coffee, good to
- 27:13Speaker 1: the last drop, like Maxwell House or don't don't be
- 27:15Speaker 1: shaking your head, and Folgers, we don't need any hints
- 27:18Speaker 1: over here. Folgers, I'm gonna say, Folgers.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Okay, great shit, okay, great, just what it's celebrating my failure.
- 27:28Speaker 2: It's Maxwell House. Technically I was right then. I didn't
- 27:34Speaker 2: say final answer, but that was my first guest. Oh,
- 27:36Speaker 2: come on, Maxwell House. The reason why Maxwell House is
- 27:39Speaker 2: in the news supposedly they're rebranding.
- 27:41Speaker 1: You might have seen this.
- 27:42Speaker 2: They're going to be Maxwell Apartment now for a limited time.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Are you serious? Yeah?
- 27:46Speaker 2: Do you think that's BS? I think that there has
- 27:48Speaker 2: to be BS. It has to be get your news, dude,
- 27:51Speaker 2: google it. It's all over the place. It's all over
- 27:53Speaker 2: the place. We should ask Ai Andy about that, shall
- 27:56Speaker 2: we not?
- 27:57Speaker 1: This Andy? Another?
- 28:00Speaker 6: Hey Joel, So I have to break it to you,
- 28:02Speaker 6: but that one's definitely not true. Maxwell House is still
- 28:05Speaker 6: very much Maxwell House, and they haven't gotten condo or
- 28:08Speaker 6: apartment on us. I think someone might have been pulling
- 28:11Speaker 6: your leg or it was just a bit of a
- 28:12Speaker 6: joke floating around. So you can rest easy. Your coffee's
- 28:16Speaker 6: still the same old house blend. I don't know.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I'm syah who knew USA today? I'm reading right now
- 28:22Speaker 1: it says that it's true. USA is pretty credible. This
- 28:26Speaker 1: is technology turning on us right before very What do
- 28:30Speaker 1: you mean technology turning on us? He's giving us false information.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Right now, the news says it's real. Hey, well, USA Today.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Andy, I think you're full of shit, man, I'm looking
- 28:39Speaker 2: all over the place online and there's there's a lot
- 28:41Speaker 2: of credible news sources that are claiming this is real.
- 28:44Speaker 2: What do you have to say for yourself? USA Today
- 28:46Speaker 2: says it's real, and you say it's fake.
- 28:48Speaker 1: So what gives? Well? Hey, you got me there, Joel.
- 28:50Speaker 6: If USA Today is really saying Maxwell House is turning
- 28:53Speaker 6: into Maxwell Apartment, I guess we're in a sitcom we
- 28:56Speaker 6: didn't know about. But seriously, I'm not seeing any i
- 28:58Speaker 6: legit reman news on my end. It might just be
- 29:01Speaker 6: a piece of Internet humor or a mix up somewhere.
- 29:04Speaker 6: But hey, if it turns out I'm wrong and they
- 29:06Speaker 6: really are going full real estate, I owe you what.
- 29:09Speaker 6: Let's just say for now, I'm pretty sure it's.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Just a tall tale.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Okay, Well that was the less than stellar response anyway,
- 29:18Speaker 2: Maxwell House is supposedly becoming Maxwell Apartment.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I bet you though.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Maxwell House will probably print Maxwell Apartment on their you know,
- 29:25Speaker 2: cases of coffee, probably two months and then they'll be
- 29:27Speaker 2: done with it.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, the backlash, I'm sure will come. Yeah, but
- 29:31Speaker 1: I saw the thing of the press release online.
- 29:33Speaker 2: They said that because majority not a majority, but because
- 29:36Speaker 2: a lot of Americans rent now instead of owning that they.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Wanted to be more.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Ton more rounded off, you know, Maxwell apartment anyway, I
- 29:46Speaker 2: like to play a condo. You did indeed get all
- 29:49Speaker 2: four incorrect. So yeah, great, that was nice trivia.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Man, It's like the universe asking us questions, you know.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, Andy, you're back in the game as
- 30:04Speaker 1: a lifeline. If Joel needs you can come to you once,
- 30:07Speaker 1: and we're gonna start with distances.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Distances, yeah, question number one. It's a little scary because
- 30:14Speaker 2: you know, I don't do numbers or distances. We've done
- 30:16Speaker 2: We've gone over this before. Yeah, I don't do well
- 30:18Speaker 2: with what it's just like mileage and ship like that. Actually, God,
- 30:24Speaker 2: how many feet are in a mile? Now, let's see
- 30:27Speaker 2: if you can get it. Let's see if you can
- 30:29Speaker 2: get it within two hundred feet. I'm gonna go to
- 30:31Speaker 2: my lifeline, Andy.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Oh no, no, no, how many feet are in a mile?
- 30:38Speaker 2: I don't even know where to start with that ship.
- 30:39Speaker 2: I guess I'm not getting all four correct?
- 30:41Speaker 1: Fuck?
- 30:43Speaker 2: How many feet isn't there like twelve inches in a foot.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, but.
- 30:49Speaker 2: I need to know how many feet are in a mile.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I don't even know where to start. I have no
- 30:53Speaker 2: idea where you have no idea. I don't even know
- 30:55Speaker 2: where to start to figure out this question. Take a guess, then,
- 30:59Speaker 2: how many feet in a mile? Fifty? Come on, is
- 31:03Speaker 2: that fifty feet? It's a lot more than that. It's
- 31:06Speaker 2: a lot more than that. Like this is feet from
- 31:08Speaker 2: me to you. There's like two feet, so in a mile.
- 31:10Speaker 2: There used to be a shipload then, right, a lot
- 31:13Speaker 2: more than that? Yeah, yeah, one thousand more than that,
- 31:16Speaker 2: two thousand more than that, ten thousand, no less, yes,
- 31:20Speaker 2: five thousand, alright, forty five hundred, now fifty five hundred.
- 31:25Speaker 2: You're getting a little too much. Fifty two hundred. Close,
- 31:29Speaker 2: You got two fifty. With all those guesses, you finally
- 31:31Speaker 2: got it within two hundred. It's fifty five thousand, two
- 31:33Speaker 2: hundred and eighty feet. No, you didn't get it right,
- 31:37Speaker 2: but you said get it within two hundred. I did
- 31:40Speaker 2: after eight guesses. Okay, fifty. I'm glad that I know
- 31:45Speaker 2: that to you know what, I'm gonna sleep like a
- 31:46Speaker 2: baby tonight because I know how many feet are in
- 31:48Speaker 2: a fucking mile.
- 31:48Speaker 1: At least you know there's twelve inches in a foot.
- 31:51Speaker 1: You know it's something?
- 31:52Speaker 2: Yeah, good job, No, thanks, At least I knew one
- 31:54Speaker 2: of those, right, yeah right?
- 31:56Speaker 1: Question two? All right, buddy, what does r L stand for?
- 32:03Speaker 1: Any like a website? Yeah? Man? What does your L?
- 32:10Speaker 1: You know? Andy looks perplexed.
- 32:11Speaker 2: And it's interesting too, because again, I've hosted a trivia
- 32:14Speaker 2: night once a week for the past like six years
- 32:16Speaker 2: of my life.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Now I've asked this question multiple times. Have you you
- 32:20Speaker 1: would think you got to come up with new material
- 32:21Speaker 1: if you ask it several times?
- 32:22Speaker 2: Oh?
- 32:23Speaker 1: Come on, you would think.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Though that asking this question a few times that I'd
- 32:26Speaker 2: retain the answer and did No.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, you are L man again. I don't know
- 32:34Speaker 1: where to who do I even start that? U are l?
- 32:41Speaker 1: Uh Man? Is the L line? No? I have no idea.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Should I go to my lifeline?
- 32:49Speaker 6: No?
- 32:50Speaker 1: Okay, you're allowed to check in because I make the rules.
- 32:54Speaker 1: All right, great? Yeah, giving up? Yeah, I'm giving up.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Uniform resource location.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Uniform research locator, resource resource resource research.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Yeah, locator, you are L. You are L You are wrong? Aha,
- 33:11Speaker 1: dad jokes. Question three, sleeping on your feet. That is
- 33:18Speaker 1: the category sleeping on your feet. What animal is famous
- 33:22Speaker 1: for being able to sleep while standing up? There's a
- 33:24Speaker 1: couple that do that.
- 33:25Speaker 2: No, yeah, but one is flamingo, right, No, Flamingo's definitely
- 33:30Speaker 2: sleep standing up, do they?
- 33:31Speaker 1: I think? Should we ask cay Andy? It's not on
- 33:37Speaker 1: my list. Flamingo's definitely sleep standing up. All right, Your
- 33:43Speaker 1: new iPhone is kind of the color of a flamingo.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Is that a pink nuts? It's what your iPhone colors.
- 33:49Speaker 2: I hate the color this new iPhone. It's orange, bitch,
- 33:51Speaker 2: not pink, but.
- 33:52Speaker 1: More like bronze. I hate it. I hate it, hate it,
- 33:57Speaker 1: And you know it's funny. I ordered this thinking, oh,
- 33:58Speaker 1: the new iPhone is seventeen.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Oh they're doing orange for the front Ooh this looks
- 34:02Speaker 2: cool and it looked a lot cooler on the screen.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Yeah, then it does in person. Yeah. Anyway, what never
- 34:07Speaker 1: gonna get them as a sponsor. Now there's a flamingo
- 34:09Speaker 1: sleep standing up?
- 34:13Speaker 6: Yeah, they actually do. Flamingos are pretty famous for that.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I told you, all right, fine, all right, so
- 34:19Speaker 1: I got it right then, Well that's one of them,
- 34:21Speaker 1: all right, the answer I was looking for. There's a
- 34:24Speaker 1: couple of them, so throughout some other ones. Do you
- 34:26Speaker 1: know any other ones? Bat? A bat? Yeah? No, no
- 34:32Speaker 1: sleep standing Do you know any other animals that sleep
- 34:34Speaker 1: standing up? Cows? Cows, cows, laid out horses, They're very
- 34:39Speaker 1: famous for it. Elephants, giraffes, your mom, zebras, donkeys. I
- 34:47Speaker 1: was gonna make your mom joke there, but I'm already
- 34:49Speaker 1: do it. I know what I wanted to get you back. Sorry,
- 34:53Speaker 1: missus Scheimer, But yeah, all those things sleep standing up.
- 34:57Speaker 2: You have a fall sleep standing up? Isn't there a
- 34:59Speaker 2: term for that? And are a rack something something? No spiders,
- 35:03Speaker 2: so a ractophobic just go to the next one now.
- 35:08Speaker 2: But there's a term for that. People that fall asleep
- 35:10Speaker 2: standing up. There's a term for that. What do you
- 35:12Speaker 2: call it?
- 35:12Speaker 1: It's not narcolepsy, because that's someone that's yeah, period, oh
- 35:16Speaker 1: falling asleep. Period. What's narcilepsy?
- 35:19Speaker 3: Yeah, that's like if you just like fall asleep at
- 35:20Speaker 3: like a random you know, like right now where we're
- 35:23Speaker 3: talking doing a podcast, imagine.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I was just like, oh, it's narkilips. Ye okay, gotcha.
- 35:30Speaker 1: What a cool superpower that would be sleeping whenever you want.
- 35:34Speaker 2: I don't think people with narcolepsy decide when they want
- 35:37Speaker 2: to sleep. No, I think they hate. That sounds kind
- 35:40Speaker 2: of awful. Honestly, if you have narcolepsy, can you drive
- 35:42Speaker 2: a calck?
- 35:43Speaker 1: No?
- 35:43Speaker 2: You certainly cannot drive a car. And people have narcolops
- 35:46Speaker 2: it's like all the time they have this right, stop
- 35:49Speaker 2: talking about this. Sorry to the narcoliptic community. Yes, anybody
- 35:53Speaker 2: listening has narcolepsy. You could be our next guest on
- 35:56Speaker 2: the podcast. We have a bunch of questions for you.
- 35:57Speaker 2: They already tuned out their sleeping. Oh god, bad question
- 36:03Speaker 2: for lyrics. I love asking you the lyric question, but
- 36:08Speaker 2: I hate being on the receiving end of these because
- 36:10Speaker 2: it's hard because you know it. Your brain knows that
- 36:12Speaker 2: you know it, but putting your finger on it is.
- 36:15Speaker 1: And I like reading them in a way that you
- 36:17Speaker 1: know it's not being sung, you know what I mean.
- 36:20Speaker 1: I like to change it up a little bit. So
- 36:21Speaker 1: here we go. The zombies were having fun. The party
- 36:24Speaker 1: had just begun. The guests include wolf men, Dracula and
- 36:27Speaker 1: his son, Oh monster mass a bit. I thought that
- 36:30Speaker 1: would be more difficult. That was a Halloween theme one,
- 36:33Speaker 1: I mean, and really of all the.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Songs to pick on a Halloween our first Halloween themed episode.
- 36:37Speaker 2: What year did that come out? It's Boris Bobby Pickett.
- 36:40Speaker 2: That might be mos late fifties, if not.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Early sixties, early sixties yet nineteen sixty. I was gonna
- 36:48Speaker 1: say sixty one. Okay, Never, it's time for I'm not
- 36:55Speaker 1: much of a chocolate guy. Are you a chocolate lover? Yeah? Yeah,
- 36:59Speaker 1: a little bit? So what you bring?
- 37:02Speaker 4: So?
- 37:03Speaker 1: I brought each of us one of these little tiny,
- 37:06Speaker 1: you know, snickers, a Musketeers in a milky way.
- 37:09Speaker 2: I thought we could like judge them. They're little ones,
- 37:12Speaker 2: They're little guys. What like, I've never had I'm not
- 37:15Speaker 2: a chocolate bar. I actually never had a Musketeers. Three Musketeers,
- 37:18Speaker 2: you've never had I'm not a chocolate bar guy. You're
- 37:20Speaker 2: not missing anything. It's probably like my least is that
- 37:24Speaker 2: the one that's like whipped chocolate in the middle. Yeah,
- 37:26Speaker 2: it's probably one of my least favorite ones. There are
- 37:29Speaker 2: a few good ones, I tell you what, though, I
- 37:31Speaker 2: think the best candy bar of all time.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Is it Take five bar Beckery. You ever have those?
- 37:37Speaker 1: One time bar? Guy?
- 37:40Speaker 2: They're so good though, I mean even for people that
- 37:43Speaker 2: don't like chocolate bars. I think take five as a
- 37:45Speaker 2: way to do it, because that's five layers of goodness.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Well, now I know take five.
- 37:52Speaker 2: I'll go get some today. I'll let you know, good
- 37:53Speaker 2: to eat your three musketeers? To which one we should
- 37:55Speaker 2: we start with the three musketeers? Go ahead, three musketeers.
- 37:57Speaker 1: All right? I mean yeah, I'm pretty sure I've never
- 38:01Speaker 1: had this before.
- 38:02Speaker 2: It's all right, it's okay, not my favorite, yeah, but
- 38:05Speaker 2: it's all right. You guys have a favorite chocolate bar? Yeah,
- 38:08Speaker 2: take five. Oh that's worry from that one hundred grand.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Hundred grand.
- 38:12Speaker 2: I don't know if I've ever had one of those?
- 38:14Speaker 2: Is that dark chocolate? No, it's a hundred grand.
- 38:17Speaker 1: It has caramel and like some little like crispies on top.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Mm.
- 38:21Speaker 1: I like things with crispies, and I'm like Nestley crunch, yeah,
- 38:24Speaker 1: like that kind of snap.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:25Speaker 1: We had those a couple of weeks ago for them,
- 38:27Speaker 1: a bunch of crunch. Yeah.
- 38:29Speaker 2: So it's interesting you bring this up because they put
- 38:32Speaker 2: this list out every year of the top Halloween candies.
- 38:35Speaker 2: For twenty twenty five, it just came out a couple
- 38:37Speaker 2: of weeks ago. So Reese's Peanut butter Cups are number
- 38:39Speaker 2: one nationally. That's like my favorite.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I'm not a chocolate guy, really, like I really since childhood,
- 38:45Speaker 1: I have not been in a chocolate guy. But if
- 38:47Speaker 1: there's peanut butter involved, I'm all in. I love peanut butter.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 38:49Speaker 2: So you're not a chocolate guy, but would you consider
- 38:51Speaker 2: yourself a candy guy?
- 38:52Speaker 1: Like?
- 38:52Speaker 2: Would you eat like Sour Patch Kids? I do like
- 38:56Speaker 2: bears or shit like that. I fell out of love
- 38:57Speaker 2: with candy a long time ago.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Ly, yeah, I'm not a came. Now I have this
- 39:00Speaker 1: stuff in my house, I'll have it. I like twigs
- 39:02Speaker 1: twist again twitch. Yeah.
- 39:05Speaker 2: So anyway, top candies for Trick or Treat this year,
- 39:09Speaker 2: Reach's Peanut butter Cup of course number one, Peanut Eminem's
- 39:12Speaker 2: regular Eminems tied for number two, kit Kat Kut KitKat
- 39:18Speaker 2: and number three, Snickers at number four, Sour Patch Kids
- 39:21Speaker 2: at number five, and then Hershey's Milk Chocolate Bar at
- 39:24Speaker 2: number six.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Those are the top six for this year.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Dude, I remember multiple years in a row where my parents,
- 39:30Speaker 2: instead of giving out candy for Halloween, they did like
- 39:33Speaker 2: the Halloween pretzels. What the hell was that you've never
- 39:37Speaker 2: seen the orange bags of Halloween pretzels that you passed
- 39:40Speaker 2: out for trick or treat.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Instead of oh my god, it was it's embarrassing.
- 39:43Speaker 2: If this is a good way to get your house
- 39:45Speaker 2: freaking eggs, how you do it? Well?
- 39:48Speaker 1: I just had my first three Musketeers. It was okay,
- 39:51Speaker 1: it was all right, It's okay. Once we try next,
- 39:53Speaker 1: you don't.
- 39:53Speaker 2: You don't want to go out of your way to
- 39:54Speaker 2: keep eating milky way and it it's again. You know,
- 39:57Speaker 2: it's all right, But you can't go wrong with the
- 40:00Speaker 2: six Snickers bar.
- 40:00Speaker 1: You ever have peanut butter Snickers?
- 40:02Speaker 2: No, oh man, if you like Reache's peanut butter cups,
- 40:06Speaker 2: you got to get the peanut butter Snickers. Such riveting
- 40:08Speaker 2: content for our listeners testing Halloween candy. If you made
- 40:13Speaker 2: it thus far, thank.
- 40:13Speaker 1: You very much. We'll put your check in the mail.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Happy Halloween. Thank you? You did you buy these? Or
- 40:19Speaker 1: why do you have all the bottom for Halloween? So
- 40:21Speaker 1: when I have trick or treaters, which in my neighborhood
- 40:23Speaker 1: I live very you know, very close to you, we
- 40:25Speaker 1: get like I think we got like seven last year.
- 40:27Speaker 1: My parents barely get antie trigger nuts?
- 40:29Speaker 6: I know?
- 40:30Speaker 1: Is that the thing with my parents too?
- 40:31Speaker 2: It's like, man, you guys probably get ten trick or
- 40:33Speaker 2: treaters total. Why the hell are you giving out pretzels?
- 40:37Speaker 2: You should buying like the full sized candy bars. If
- 40:39Speaker 2: you only got a handful of true, it's disappointing.
- 40:43Speaker 1: What's next? Popcorn ball? Jeez? What raisins?
- 40:48Speaker 3: See?
- 40:48Speaker 1: I think it would really cool if you open up
- 40:49Speaker 1: your funeral home to trick or treaters. I did do
- 40:52Speaker 1: that one year. Yeah. Did it get a good response? No?
- 40:54Speaker 6: No?
- 40:55Speaker 1: Were they too afraid to approach?
- 40:57Speaker 2: No?
- 40:58Speaker 1: I just think that.
- 40:58Speaker 3: I mean, I'm on a means and I think they
- 41:01Speaker 3: were kind of more in a residential area, gotcha. Yeah,
- 41:04Speaker 3: but he did do like a trunk or treat last
- 41:06Speaker 3: year and that was super popular and I gave out.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Speaking of funeral home, let's get back to that for
- 41:12Speaker 1: a second, here's a question for you. When has there
- 41:18Speaker 1: been a time when you were working on a body
- 41:20Speaker 1: and it moved? No, No, that doesn't happen. No, that
- 41:23Speaker 1: never happens. Nope. If it did, I wouldn't be doing
- 41:26Speaker 1: what I do. Really, i'd be out of there. Yeah,
- 41:30Speaker 1: he's too paranormal, he is. I'm not saying it's a
- 41:33Speaker 1: paranormal thing. I think it may be just a body reaction,
- 41:36Speaker 1: you know, maybe some kind of a body reaction. Either
- 41:39Speaker 1: you're dead or you're alive, not in between, like fluid
- 41:41Speaker 1: build up. I'm just trying to guess, like what could
- 41:43Speaker 1: cause it? Now, that build up, I'm just guessing. I'm
- 41:46Speaker 1: just trying to that's never happened, though. Is that a
- 41:48Speaker 1: thing that does happen? Don't when fluid builds up the worst?
- 41:53Speaker 2: Well, thanks for coming on your day, So nobody's dead
- 41:56Speaker 2: to well, I guess people are dead today, but like
- 41:58Speaker 2: there's no funeral today, right, Yeah?
- 42:00Speaker 1: Day off? Do you work every day?
- 42:04Speaker 2: I do?
- 42:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm on call twenty four seven, three sixty five.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Oh really yeah? Wow.
- 42:09Speaker 2: So you could have gotten called like in the middle
- 42:11Speaker 2: of recording this podcast. I could have, and then you
- 42:12Speaker 2: would have left. It depends you would have said, yeah,
- 42:15Speaker 2: I just tell the dead body to hang out there.
- 42:17Speaker 2: I'm recording a podcast.
- 42:19Speaker 1: It'd be like a couple of minutes, just tell them
- 42:20Speaker 1: to hang But Joel said I was a little too paranormal.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Do you believe in that stuff? The paranormal after life?
- 42:27Speaker 1: I don't not believe, but I don't. You've never experienced that, gotcha,
- 42:31Speaker 1: never experienced something yourself? No, nothing ever creepy happened inside
- 42:36Speaker 1: the funeral home. No, I mean so the the first
- 42:38Speaker 1: year of home ever worked that that place I thought
- 42:41Speaker 1: was really cool. Yeah, I had like some serious history.
- 42:45Speaker 3: And one day it was in the embalming room and
- 42:48Speaker 3: I thought I saw like this old guy with like
- 42:51Speaker 3: a top hat go by behind me, like I could
- 42:54Speaker 3: have sworn, But.
- 42:55Speaker 1: No, no, no, I don't know. Maybe you just brushed
- 42:57Speaker 1: it off right away, like, oh, that didn't happen. It's like,
- 42:59Speaker 1: I don't you saw a guy with a top hat
- 43:01Speaker 1: behind you and I just kind of forgot about what
- 43:03Speaker 1: you saw. I just thought I saw a guy like
- 43:05Speaker 1: in a black suit. I taught that, and you were
- 43:07Speaker 1: the only person in there. Yeah, well alive.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, But how are you able to to say, oh,
- 43:14Speaker 2: I think I just saw that. No, I guess I did,
- 43:16Speaker 2: and then go back to work. I'll be like see
- 43:18Speaker 2: you bye, audios.
- 43:20Speaker 1: I don't know. I guess rational thinking can't be. He
- 43:23Speaker 1: doesn't have a lot of that. What rational thinking? I think, yeah,
- 43:27Speaker 1: not rational? Irrational. Well, and he was very cool for
- 43:30Speaker 1: you to join us today on the blazeer Confused podcast.
- 43:32Speaker 1: This is episode twenty one. We're doing pretty well. We're
- 43:35Speaker 1: at an age where our podcast can drink never Believe
- 43:38Speaker 1: beautiful and uh, let's tease our listening audience with what's
- 43:41Speaker 1: coming up later on this month? What we're getting? Uh
- 43:43Speaker 1: what more Halloween themes?
- 43:45Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 43:46Speaker 1: So next week we have a practicing witch coming on.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Hell does that even mean we're going to find out?
- 43:52Speaker 1: I told her I was, like my friend, Joel, very
- 43:54Speaker 1: skeptical about.
- 43:56Speaker 2: Every Are you supposed to not be skeptical if you
- 43:59Speaker 2: meet somebody's Hey, I'm a practicing witch.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Oh, I asked her. Congratulations. Hey, while you're here, can
- 44:03Speaker 1: you just do me a favor and like put a
- 44:05Speaker 1: spell on? I'm gonna be more agreeable. You know, maybe
- 44:08Speaker 1: that'll happen. I can't wait to talk to the practicing
- 44:11Speaker 1: witch next week. That's coming up on episode twenty two
