- 0:05Speaker 1: Oh, just clearing the winter out of my throat, baby.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Be gone. Be gone, snow. Be gone, ice. Or hail. Dude,
- 0:18Speaker 1: what is hail? It's basically, it's like Italian snow or whatever.
- 0:23Speaker 1: I mean, that shit just f * * * you up.
- 0:26Speaker 1: It's like Memphis snow. It's like, what are we, what,
- 0:31Speaker 1: it's definitely, I gotta look that up. What is hail?
- 0:35Speaker 1: Because sometimes it's like you're relaxed and it's raining and
- 0:39Speaker 1: then the rain's like, oh yeah, guess what, mother.
- 0:41Speaker 2: F * * * er.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And it just f * * * ing shows up.
- 0:46Speaker 1: And it just starts like pinging off your car, bouncing
- 0:49Speaker 1: off your wife's shoulders and.
- 0:51Speaker 2: S * * *.
- 0:51Speaker 1: It's bouncing off your stepson or whatever and it makes
- 0:55Speaker 1: you care about him. Hail is just, yeah, we gotta
- 0:59Speaker 1: look into that and see what they're doing. They're probably
- 1:02Speaker 1: charging us for it. You know, we're probably getting charged
- 1:06Speaker 1: for that, I'm sure. Welcome to the episode. Happy springtime, everybody.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Good to be here with you today. What's happening? Oh,
- 1:16Speaker 1: I'll tell you. Dude, so, oh, I went to a
- 1:18Speaker 1: little chili cook-off around me. And, you know, I like, man,
- 1:24Speaker 1: I'm lying. Chili is always, it's suspect. Chili is a suspect. Soup, really.
- 1:36Speaker 1: That's what it is. It's just a bunch of, it's
- 1:39Speaker 1: like the hail of soups. It's like, all right. All right, soup.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I see what you doing. We right here. It's just
- 1:50Speaker 1: that kind of soup, you know, it's thickened up, baby.
- 1:54Speaker 1: It's like soup got a BBL, baby. That's chili. And
- 1:59Speaker 1: so I went to a little, I stopped by a little, uh,
- 2:02Speaker 1: They had a small chili tent cook-off area, and they
- 2:07Speaker 1: had four vendors or something in there just ladling booty
- 2:12Speaker 1: gas edibles into small bowls for people. So I get
- 2:19Speaker 1: up there, and I got me some chili, and they
- 2:20Speaker 1: had one place they were saying, we got all the fixings, toppings,
- 2:24Speaker 1: and this and that. You could put anything on that bitch.
- 2:26Speaker 1: You could put cheese, onions. a little bit of GHB,
- 2:31Speaker 1: and one place was offering. But I just said, hey,
- 2:36Speaker 1: do you have pickles? And the guy just, I mean,
- 2:39Speaker 1: this guy looked at me. I mean, this dude, he
- 2:44Speaker 1: was stirring this big pot of chili. He was just
- 2:48Speaker 1: a damn chili witch, you know? And he was just
- 2:52Speaker 1: stirring a big cauldron of fucking booty goop, you know?
- 2:58Speaker 2: Just....
- 2:59Speaker 1: And I said, yeah, do you have any pickles for it?
- 3:02Speaker 1: And he's like, you want pickles on your chili? And
- 3:07Speaker 1: I was like, yeah. Yeah, that's what I like. I
- 3:12Speaker 1: like putting just pickles on there. And he's like, you
- 3:16Speaker 1: want pickles on your chili? And I'm like, dude. And
- 3:22Speaker 1: it was like he couldn't understand. I was like, yes, yes, sir.
- 3:26Speaker 1: And he's like, you, you, you, you want to pick
- 3:33Speaker 1: up on your talent? He couldn't handle it, man. The
- 3:37Speaker 1: dude couldn't handle it. So I guess the moral of this,
- 3:40Speaker 1: you want to pick up on your talent? I don't
- 3:43Speaker 1: know what the moral of that story is, dude. Who
- 3:44Speaker 1: gives a dang? The moral of the story is sometimes
- 3:47Speaker 1: you want things that people can't give you. I think
- 3:51Speaker 1: maybe that's the moral of the story. I got this
- 3:56Speaker 1: shirt on. This is a beautiful, beautiful shirt. This was
- 3:59Speaker 1: given to me by the Bronx Fire Department, baby. Engine 43, son.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Cuatro dos, baby. QD in the house. I'll tell you
- 4:10Speaker 1: what happened. So I was walking down the street. I'd
- 4:12Speaker 1: broken my toe, right? And so when you break your toe,
- 4:15Speaker 1: you suddenly everything. You see everything a lot clearer because
- 4:20Speaker 1: you can't go fast. So you go very slow. You
- 4:25Speaker 1: ever see that guy that's crossing the crosswalk like backwards
- 4:28Speaker 1: in a wheelchair by himself? And you're like, Jesus, dude.
- 4:33Speaker 1: You know, you pray for him, but you're also a
- 4:35Speaker 1: little bit pissed, you know? You're like, dear God, help
- 4:38Speaker 1: this motherfucker hurry up. Well, dude, when you break your toe,
- 4:44Speaker 1: you go slower than that, dude. He is the hare,
- 4:49Speaker 1: you are the tortoise. You go slower than that dude.
- 4:52Speaker 1: So I'm in New York City. I'm walking around and,
- 4:57Speaker 1: you know, and I'd just broken my toe probably 48
- 5:00Speaker 1: hours before. And so that bitch was big and dark.
- 5:03Speaker 1: And you could feel it had a little bit of
- 5:05Speaker 1: heartbeat of its own, you know, like it had a
- 5:06Speaker 1: damn bass track running through it. And I'm wearing some
- 5:10Speaker 1: Hey Dudes that I have that, because it's easy to
- 5:14Speaker 1: get in and out of them, the shoes. And anyway,
- 5:18Speaker 1: you're just slowly going everywhere. You know, so you start
- 5:22Speaker 1: meeting people and people are saying stuff at you and yelling,
- 5:25Speaker 1: you know. Hey, you know, I love the podcast.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Get out the street.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Just different. Just New York. Just New York hellos, you know.
- 5:35Speaker 1: And I'm walking past this one spot and this guy
- 5:39Speaker 1: comes up and he's like, hey, you want to... He'd
- 5:44Speaker 1: been drinking and he was either... He was Italian or
- 5:48Speaker 1: he was like fast Polish, you know, or he was
- 5:54Speaker 1: either Polish or slow Italian. You know what I'm saying?
- 5:58Speaker 1: He was in that cross. And he's like, come on, hey.
- 6:03Speaker 1: He's like, my cousin Jeremy just got promoted to– whatever
- 6:08Speaker 1: the top of the fire department, like lead arsonist or whatever.
- 6:12Speaker 1: So he brings me, there's just a door. He, we
- 6:14Speaker 1: go inside and it's a huge, it's like, everybody's like, Hey,
- 6:19Speaker 1: you want some fire? It's like a fire department party.
- 6:24Speaker 1: And I think this guy, Jeremy or something had just
- 6:27Speaker 1: won like hose of the month or whatever. Like I
- 6:30Speaker 1: think whoever's got the most PSI coming out of them,
- 6:32Speaker 1: they give them, you know, a lab, you know, You know,
- 6:37Speaker 1: he'd done something that, you know, it was an achievement
- 6:40Speaker 1: for him. So all of his buddies are there and everybody,
- 6:43Speaker 1: they're toasting and cheering and fucking like, hey, look at
- 6:47Speaker 1: this mother, you know? And they're like, hey, if you
- 6:51Speaker 1: ever have a fire, here's my number. Like, dude, I'm not...
- 6:55Speaker 1: If there's a fire... I'm not looking through my phone
- 6:58Speaker 1: if there's a fire, you know? And I'm going to
- 7:02Speaker 1: call Antonio up, you know, in the South Bronx. I'm calling...
- 7:06Speaker 1: the fire department. So they're just like, and then they
- 7:10Speaker 1: gave me this shirt that we took some photos and
- 7:13Speaker 1: they're like, cheers. And then offer me, uh, they're like, Hey,
- 7:16Speaker 1: you want some matches, mother, you know, keep us in business,
- 7:19Speaker 1: keep us in business. They gave me like an eight
- 7:21Speaker 1: pack of matches. That was like the cool looking, the
- 7:24Speaker 1: old school, like regular looking match books. Um, they gave
- 7:28Speaker 1: me this shirt to like, Hey, it's flammable. Um, But yeah,
- 7:33Speaker 1: it was just like a great experience. So shout out
- 7:35Speaker 1: to them. Shout out to all the fire departments out there.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Congratulations to the guy that got the promotion. I dated
- 7:42Speaker 1: a girl in junior high school. Her dad, um, great
- 7:48Speaker 1: guy threatened to kill me once, but outside of that, awesome.
- 7:54Speaker 1: You know, he was a fire chief and we used
- 7:57Speaker 1: to go over there and watch him eat hot dogs
- 7:59Speaker 1: and shit. And, uh, This was before a lot of
- 8:04Speaker 1: firemen are getting in shape and stuff. Now, this is
- 8:06Speaker 1: back when they were just over there just snorting Oscar
- 8:11Speaker 1: Myers and shit and just squirting ketchup on each other's backs,
- 8:15Speaker 1: you know? And just basically just gambling, a lot of them.
- 8:21Speaker 1: But anyway, I'm not sure what I'm talking about, what
- 8:23Speaker 1: I'm rambling about. But that was the first time at
- 8:27Speaker 1: her dad's fire department that I ever had chili in
- 8:29Speaker 1: my life. That I ever had it. Somebody served it.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I didn't know what it was. I had a little
- 8:35Speaker 1: bit of it. And then I'd had it. You know,
- 8:40Speaker 1: that's how that all works, you know. But you want
- 8:43Speaker 1: a pickle on your chili? You want a pickle on
- 8:47Speaker 1: your chili. What else has been going on? Thank you
- 8:53Speaker 1: to the people that have come out to the shows recently.
- 8:55Speaker 1: We've done some dates recently. Uh, we went up to
- 8:59Speaker 1: the Pacific Northwest. That was really amazing up there. So
- 9:04Speaker 1: the bill, just the way the buildings are, the people
- 9:08Speaker 1: where everybody, a lot of people, they look clean up there.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Cause it rains so much. You just get cleaned. Even
- 9:12Speaker 1: if you're just not even if you're dirty. Um, yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 1: we did a huge show in Seattle. That was amazing.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I think it maybe was too many people. I know
- 9:23Speaker 1: that sounds like a, I'm grateful. Everybody came. But I'd
- 9:26Speaker 1: just never been in a venue, and it was a
- 9:29Speaker 1: big venue, right? And I just felt a little bad,
- 9:31Speaker 1: like maybe the people, like some of the seats, it
- 9:36Speaker 1: was hard to hear. I don't know. I think some
- 9:39Speaker 1: of that's just a fear of mine. But I don't
- 9:41Speaker 1: think that we will do that again. But it's just
- 9:46Speaker 1: a learning curve. And, yeah, we had a nice time there, though.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I got to see Mac's girlfriend. Uh, we got to
- 9:56Speaker 1: go to the fish market. Dude, you go to the
- 9:57Speaker 1: fish market. I'd never, I'd never. uh, been to the
- 10:02Speaker 1: Seattle fish fair or whatever. It's like a little circus
- 10:05Speaker 1: or whatever that they have every day. And people come,
- 10:08Speaker 1: there's dead fish and you can look at them.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Right.
- 10:10Speaker 1: And you can eat them. You know, it's pretty, it's pretty, uh,
- 10:17Speaker 1: Neanderthal like in a way, but, um, So anyway, we
- 10:20Speaker 1: go and Amir K, that's a guy that's touring with me,
- 10:24Speaker 1: a great comedian. He like points at the guys running
- 10:27Speaker 1: the fish fair. And so next thing you know, they
- 10:32Speaker 1: do a thing where you, somebody throws a fish and
- 10:34Speaker 1: somebody catches a fish. And so they let me catch
- 10:37Speaker 1: the fish and I fucking, you know, one toss, one kill, homie.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I gripped that bitch. And yeah, it was awesome. I
- 10:44Speaker 1: didn't know you're not supposed to spike it after you
- 10:46Speaker 1: catch it. So that, That was, I think, frowned upon
- 10:51Speaker 1: or whatever, but I didn't know that. And I'd been
- 10:54Speaker 1: watching too many of those Gronk commercials or whatever. Anyway,
- 10:57Speaker 1: I'm rambling. What else is going on? Let's get into
- 11:03Speaker 1: the episode. How about that? We got a bunch of
- 11:05Speaker 1: calls that came in from you guys, and I'm going
- 11:06Speaker 1: to focus on those today. I got one story. I
- 11:09Speaker 1: went to the Grand Ole Opry's 100th anniversary. I'm going
- 11:13Speaker 1: to talk about that. And we're going to speak to
- 11:16Speaker 1: a miracle today. a gentleman named Matt up there in Canada, Calgary.
- 11:23Speaker 1: He's up there, and he's a miracle, and we're going
- 11:29Speaker 1: to get to have a moment with him. Let's go.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Thank you for joining us.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Whenever you're down, out in the cold Faithless and dark,
- 11:50Speaker 3: your story's untold Come take my hand and walk in
- 11:57Speaker 3: with me I know a place where we can be
- 12:03Speaker 3: free There is a light shining for you Guiding your way.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Helping you through.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Shadows and gloom are all that you see. We'll find
- 12:23Speaker 1: a place where we can be free. From the mountaintops
- 12:31Speaker 1: down to the deepest shadows. You like pickles on your jelly?
- 12:39Speaker 1: You like pickles on your jelly? Yeah, my mother came
- 12:44Speaker 1: in town for my birthday. Actually, it was last week.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Thank you if you're wishing me a happy birthday in
- 12:50Speaker 1: your head. And if you're not and you're just like, dude,
- 12:53Speaker 1: keep talking, that's fine. She came in and they had
- 12:58Speaker 1: the 100th anniversary at the Grand Ole Opry. And my
- 13:02Speaker 1: mom likes country music and she likes older country music.
- 13:08Speaker 1: And Blake Shelton was hosting the event and Jelly Roll
- 13:12Speaker 1: was going to perform. And my mom likes both of them.
- 13:17Speaker 1: And so I was like, oh, well, that would be
- 13:19Speaker 1: fun for my birthday. I'll have mom. I'll see if
- 13:22Speaker 1: mom wants to come in and then we'll go. And
- 13:24Speaker 1: so she came in and we went. And what was
- 13:29Speaker 1: it like? We got dressed up kind of. I didn't
- 13:32Speaker 1: do a good job of it. What I wanted to
- 13:35Speaker 1: wear didn't really fit once I put it on. And
- 13:37Speaker 1: so it was just. I just had to change it
- 13:42Speaker 1: and wore a jacket actually that somebody had thrown on
- 13:45Speaker 1: stage in Montana to a comedy show. I wore that.
- 13:50Speaker 1: But yeah, we went over there and it was nice.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Who performed? Oh, Alison Krauss performed. And I mean, she
- 13:58Speaker 1: has the voice of the evening that I heard. A
- 14:02Speaker 1: lot of great voices in there, but my God. That
- 14:07Speaker 1: was just exceptional. Clint Black, we got to listen to.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Who's that other guy? Don't rock, did you? Alan Jackson. Just,
- 14:20Speaker 1: it was awesome, man. We got to sit there and
- 14:21Speaker 1: listen to some music together. And, you know, there was
- 14:26Speaker 1: kind of a point in, like, there was one point
- 14:29Speaker 1: we were sitting there, and this is kind of, I guess,
- 14:33Speaker 1: a childish thought or whatever, but I was like, You know,
- 14:37Speaker 1: I kind of wish my mom would give me a
- 14:42Speaker 1: little hug or hold my hand or something. I know
- 14:44Speaker 1: that sounds crazy to say. I don't mean like hold
- 14:46Speaker 1: my hand, but just kind of squeeze my hand. Just something,
- 14:48Speaker 1: you know, like we don't see each other that much.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I don't know. This sounds crazy to say this kind of,
- 14:54Speaker 1: I guess. But I've said a lot of weird shit
- 14:56Speaker 1: over the years. I was thinking, man, it would be
- 15:00Speaker 1: nice if she gave me some sentimental... but physical sign,
- 15:05Speaker 1: like sign of affection. That's what I was thinking. Right.
- 15:09Speaker 1: And so I'm sitting there next to her and, uh,
- 15:13Speaker 1: and then I just reached over and grabbed my mom's hand.
- 15:20Speaker 1: That's what I did. And, and then we were just
- 15:25Speaker 1: kind of held hands for maybe 30 seconds or something,
- 15:27Speaker 1: you know, just put my hand on top of hers,
- 15:30Speaker 1: let her know that I care. Um, And it was
- 15:35Speaker 1: just something like, for me, like a moment like that
- 15:39Speaker 1: is interesting because a lot of my life, I would
- 15:42Speaker 1: just sit there and be like, man, I wish there
- 15:46Speaker 1: was this moment of affection, but I wish somebody else
- 15:50Speaker 1: would do it, right? Or I'm upset that they're not
- 15:53Speaker 1: doing it, you know? And then I just did it.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I just reached over and yeah, my mom's an older lady,
- 16:02Speaker 1: you know? And At some point I got to be, no,
- 16:08Speaker 1: that's not it. I don't have to, but I don't know.
- 16:11Speaker 1: It was just like, well, if I want this, I
- 16:14Speaker 1: can also get it for myself, you know? And it
- 16:18Speaker 1: really had the same effect. Once I got over the
- 16:21Speaker 1: fact of like, oh, I wish they would show the
- 16:23Speaker 1: affection first, or I wish they would do the action
- 16:27Speaker 1: to be the person providing the affection, which is probably
- 16:31Speaker 1: what I thought of a lot when I was a child.
- 16:34Speaker 1: But then this time I just reached and I just
- 16:37Speaker 1: put my hand on my mom's hand, you know, because
- 16:40Speaker 1: she's getting older. She's not the child now, but she's,
- 16:44Speaker 1: you know, just where we're at in our lives. Things
- 16:47Speaker 1: are kind of even. And it still had the same
- 16:50Speaker 1: outcome for me. It made me feel OK. The second
- 16:54Speaker 1: I got over that little moment of kind of jealousy
- 16:58Speaker 1: or wishing or not jealousy, but like wishing somebody else
- 17:02Speaker 1: had started the action. The second I got over that,
- 17:06Speaker 1: I just had a nice moment where I got to
- 17:09Speaker 1: sit there and just be with my mother and watch
- 17:12Speaker 1: country music, which is something that we both enjoy doing.
- 17:15Speaker 1: And something that's important to me in my life, you know,
- 17:19Speaker 1: to have moments with my mother where we're doing something
- 17:23Speaker 1: that we like to do and we're doing it together,
- 17:26Speaker 1: you know. So I don't know if that sounds weird
- 17:31Speaker 1: or whatever. Honestly, man, I don't care if it sounds weird,
- 17:34Speaker 1: you know. I really don't, part of me does still, but, uh,
- 17:40Speaker 1: but I think that part of me that, that needs
- 17:44Speaker 1: those type of moments is like, Hey man, finally you're meeting,
- 17:48Speaker 1: you're trying to meet just the universe, how you're taking
- 17:52Speaker 1: some direction to do something for how you feel, you know? Um,
- 17:59Speaker 1: instead of just, cause I always in my life have
- 18:01Speaker 1: been caught in this moment, like, God, I wish they
- 18:03Speaker 1: would do this. I wish this, I wish this. And,
- 18:07Speaker 1: So I don't know, that was just kind of an
- 18:08Speaker 1: interesting moment for me. And then I put my arm
- 18:10Speaker 1: around my mom's shoulder and just like, yeah, like she was,
- 18:17Speaker 1: you know, like she was, you know, my mom and
- 18:21Speaker 1: we were just having a nice time. And once I
- 18:26Speaker 1: did that, I was getting what I wanted out of
- 18:28Speaker 1: the moment. You know, and I wouldn't have done it
- 18:34Speaker 1: if I hadn't made an effort. I'm not trying to say, hey,
- 18:36Speaker 1: look at me. I'm just trying to say like for
- 18:38Speaker 1: so long, I've always been the person and I still
- 18:42Speaker 1: am a lot of times. But this time I wasn't
- 18:44Speaker 1: where I'm like, man, I wish somebody would do this
- 18:48Speaker 1: so that I would be able to have a certain
- 18:50Speaker 1: type of moment right now or so that to show
- 18:52Speaker 1: me that they care. And and I didn't really realize
- 18:58Speaker 1: that if I do it myself, some I can still
- 18:59Speaker 1: get some of that same result back. So I don't
- 19:03Speaker 1: know if that makes a lot of sense or not, but, um,
- 19:08Speaker 1: and yeah, just, I don't know.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Sometimes you, you know, you may only want, you know,
- 19:18Speaker 1: you may, sometimes you got to put your own pickles
- 19:23Speaker 1: in the chili. That's what I'm saying. I think, I
- 19:27Speaker 1: don't know if that sounds crazy, but sometimes, If you
- 19:29Speaker 1: want pickles in the chili and that's the only way
- 19:31Speaker 1: you're going to have the chili, sometimes you got to
- 19:35Speaker 1: bring the pickles, man. Because sometimes the world just serves chili.
- 19:43Speaker 1: So I don't know. But yeah, I want to speak
- 19:46Speaker 1: that out loud too because, it's just important to me
- 19:50Speaker 1: that I start to live in a place in my
- 19:53Speaker 1: life where I just don't let that uncomfortable moment of like, man,
- 20:01Speaker 1: I wish they would do this so this could be
- 20:04Speaker 1: the outcome, where I don't let that prevent me from
- 20:09Speaker 1: even if I'm upset at them or whatever, that I
- 20:10Speaker 1: don't let that prevent me from maybe trying to take
- 20:15Speaker 1: the action myself. I don't know. I know that doesn't
- 20:17Speaker 1: apply to everything, but anyway, enough about me, man, enough
- 20:21Speaker 1: about me. We got a lot of great calls that
- 20:26Speaker 1: have come in today and I want to get to
- 20:28Speaker 1: some of those. And again, I do want to apologize
- 20:30Speaker 1: that we haven't gotten to do these type episodes a lot.
- 20:33Speaker 1: I think about this all the time, you know, and
- 20:36Speaker 1: I think that it's important to, And sometimes it's just
- 20:40Speaker 1: been tough. And I'm not complaining. I'm just saying that
- 20:43Speaker 1: it's been tough. And then, you know, you also have
- 20:45Speaker 1: the opportunity to talk to guests. And you're like, man,
- 20:47Speaker 1: I'd love to talk with this person. And so you
- 20:50Speaker 1: just try to balance it. So just bear with me.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I just want to let you know that this community
- 20:54Speaker 1: is important to me. And I'm trying to fine-tune some
- 20:57Speaker 1: things in my life a little bit better so things
- 20:59Speaker 1: are more organized. So I'm able to spend my energy
- 21:02Speaker 1: where I would like to be able to spend it.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Anyway.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I know I don't need to say that, but I
- 21:11Speaker 1: just want you to know that. All right. We have
- 21:14Speaker 1: some calls that came in, and thank you guys for
- 21:16Speaker 1: continuing to hit the hotline. As always, the number is 985-664-9503.
- 21:22Speaker 1: And we got a call right here. Here we go.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Hey, Theo. My name is actually Theo as well.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Oh, hello, Theo. Good to meet the others.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Onward. I got a situation here.
- 21:40Speaker 5: I've, I've been talking to this girl for like two
- 21:42Speaker 5: years and it turns.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Out I got her pregnant.
- 21:44Speaker 4: After that all happened, the word got around.
- 21:47Speaker 6: And somehow it turns out that she's my first cousin.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Any advice would help.
- 21:53Speaker 1: And, uh, thank you so much.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Wow.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Dang brother. That's, uh, Ooh, that's you going to be
- 22:04Speaker 1: raising a dang lizard, homie. You can't, um, Wow, brother,
- 22:08Speaker 1: good golly. That's like shooting fish in a family or whatever.
- 22:14Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, I haven't looked at a
- 22:15Speaker 1: chart recently. I don't know the genetic legalities of that. But, dude, yeah,
- 22:25Speaker 1: I mean, they say, you know, don't pee where or
- 22:29Speaker 1: don't eat where you don't piss where your family is
- 22:33Speaker 1: or whatever, whatever that old saying is, dude. I feel
- 22:36Speaker 1: like you've gone past that at this point. And God,
- 22:41Speaker 1: that thing is going to have you're going to need. Yeah,
- 22:47Speaker 1: you're going to need a farrier to come and put
- 22:51Speaker 1: shoes on that thing. I'm just chirping you. I'm just
- 22:53Speaker 1: chirping you, dude. Look, I feel you. Look, it's having
- 22:57Speaker 1: a child with a cousin. I think. At the very least,
- 23:04Speaker 1: it's going to need glasses. That thing is going to
- 23:07Speaker 1: need bifocals, brother. You know, I mean, you're just playing
- 23:11Speaker 1: Russian roulette with your DNA right there. But at the
- 23:15Speaker 1: same time, man, I don't want to scare you. You know,
- 23:17Speaker 1: and I do believe, I'm kind of chirping you there still,
- 23:20Speaker 1: but I believe that everything is going to be fine.
- 23:23Speaker 1: You know, I believe that everything is going to be fine.
- 23:27Speaker 1: I think monitor the child's gestation closely. Make sure it's tracking.
- 23:33Speaker 1: You know, make sure. That it has everything it needs?
- 23:38Speaker 1: Because it is, bring it up. Can you, who can,
- 23:43Speaker 1: can you have a child with your cousin or not? Let's,
- 23:45Speaker 1: now that's just a poll. That says 40% say yes.
- 23:51Speaker 1: But do you have any information on that? Oh, I
- 23:53Speaker 1: should look it up. Who the hell am I even
- 23:54Speaker 1: talking to? Dear God, out of my mind today. Can
- 23:57Speaker 1: you have a child with one cousin? Ooh, yes, it
- 24:05Speaker 1: is physically possible for first cousins to have children, but
- 24:09Speaker 1: it is important to understand that such relationships carry a
- 24:11Speaker 1: slightly elevated risk of genetic disorders compared to unrelated parents, brother.
- 24:16Speaker 1: So I'm just saying not everybody, you know, some people
- 24:22Speaker 1: like things different. You know, some people like pickles on
- 24:25Speaker 1: their jelly. You feel me? So it's, yeah, I think
- 24:28Speaker 1: you got to make sure that when that baby right
- 24:30Speaker 1: out the gate put that baby on a damn.
- 24:35Speaker 1: You know, let some other people look at it and
- 24:36Speaker 1: sign off on that bastard right out the gate, homie.
- 24:40Speaker 1: And definitely I would make sure, you know, make sure
- 24:43Speaker 1: it doesn't stand straight up when the moon is full
- 24:46Speaker 1: and shit like that when it's real young. Just, I'd
- 24:48Speaker 1: keep tabs on it. I'd hit a couple high notes
- 24:51Speaker 1: near it on the instrument and see if it fucking,
- 24:54Speaker 1: see if its eyes turn red or anything. But you're
- 24:56Speaker 1: just gonna have to keep tabs on it because that's risky.
- 25:00Speaker 1: And look, a lot of people Have good-looking cousins, let's
- 25:05Speaker 1: say that. But not a lot of them are as
- 25:11Speaker 1: brave as you, brother. So, yeah, I would just stay
- 25:14Speaker 1: conscious of that and recognize you have an at-risk child.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Hire a night nurse or lifeguard or whatever you got
- 25:21Speaker 1: to get. Sometimes lifeguards will work overnight. They're cheaper. They
- 25:27Speaker 1: know CPR. They don't know a lot of the shit
- 25:28Speaker 1: that the nannies know, but they're still there. Got a whistle. So, yeah,
- 25:36Speaker 1: I think just, yeah, just stay safe, brother. And I
- 25:39Speaker 1: would back off that type of behavior. You know, if
- 25:43Speaker 1: you win this round of DNA roulette, brother, I'd leave
- 25:49Speaker 1: the rest of the bullets in the chamber, baby, when
- 25:50Speaker 1: it comes to family. Let's take another call here. And
- 25:57Speaker 1: thank you to the last fellow, Theo, actually. Dear God.
- 25:59Speaker 1: I didn't even realize that. Man, and look, hey, bud,
- 26:05Speaker 1: I can't tell you to be honest with you if
- 26:06Speaker 1: I'd have had a really good-looking cousin. TBD, homie. So
- 26:13Speaker 1: the Lord don't give you what you can't handle, you know.
- 26:16Speaker 1: But I'm just saying, yeah, just get out, you know.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Just meet somebody else. Meet somebody. You know, because if
- 26:27Speaker 1: you're dating your cousin, you're not even getting out there.
- 26:30Speaker 1: But maybe you're getting married to your cousin. I don't look, brother.
- 26:33Speaker 1: I don't know. I would ask probably a state official
- 26:36Speaker 1: or somebody. I would ask a pastor about this one.
- 26:40Speaker 1: But yeah, let's get back to this call that came in.
- 26:44Speaker 6: Hey, Theo. I'm in welding school right now.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Oh, you're in welding school. That's a good school. And
- 26:53Speaker 1: I had a family member who started a welding school.
- 26:56Speaker 1: It's a good business. Onward.
- 26:58Speaker 6: And I hate that shit. Like, I genuinely hate that shit.
- 27:02Speaker 6: And so I've always said my backup option is the military.
- 27:06Speaker 6: And I'm at the point where I'm about to head
- 27:09Speaker 6: down to the recruiter's office in the coming weeks, possibly.
- 27:14Speaker 6: But I just wanted to know what you think I
- 27:16Speaker 6: should do because I hate Welton, but I don't know
- 27:21Speaker 6: if I want to sign away four years of my life.
- 27:25Speaker 6: You know what I mean? And it's like, I'm 18 now.
- 27:29Speaker 6: So I'm young and I could get out after four
- 27:32Speaker 6: years and still not even be 23. But I don't know.
- 27:36Speaker 6: It's just like I don't know what to do. Should
- 27:40Speaker 6: I stick with welding school and hate my life for
- 27:43Speaker 6: the next few months or the next year and a half?
- 27:46Speaker 6: Or should I quit that and go into the military
- 27:50Speaker 6: and then get a bunch of free shit and a
- 27:52Speaker 6: bunch of discounts for the rest of my life?
- 27:55Speaker 1: Amen, brother. Thank you for asking and just for reaching out. Yeah,
- 28:00Speaker 1: it's a good you know, this is a great question
- 28:02Speaker 1: because you're like, do I do a trade or do
- 28:04Speaker 1: I go into the military? And especially you mentioned one
- 28:08Speaker 1: thing yet going to the military, you get discounts like
- 28:11Speaker 1: I wouldn't go into the military just because you're going
- 28:15Speaker 1: to get 15 percent off at Long John Silver's or whatever.
- 28:20Speaker 1: That's not a reason to go into the military for
- 28:24Speaker 1: four years. just so you can get, you know, free
- 28:29Speaker 1: left shoes at DSW Shoes or whatever, you know, or
- 28:34Speaker 1: 11% off of Cheesy Biscuits over there at Red Lobsters,
- 28:38Speaker 1: you know. You know, that's not, I would take that
- 28:42Speaker 1: out of the equation. And I would just look at,
- 28:45Speaker 1: do you like welding? You're saying you don't like it.
- 28:49Speaker 1: But do you not like the school part of it?
- 28:51Speaker 1: If you don't like this, I would find out what
- 28:53Speaker 1: don't I like. Because sometimes we say that. It's like,
- 28:56Speaker 1: I hate this. But what really do I hate about it?
- 28:59Speaker 1: Do you hate that you're in school for it right now?
- 29:02Speaker 1: Do you hate that you're having to learn it? Do
- 29:03Speaker 1: you hate that you have to get up at certain
- 29:05Speaker 1: hours to go learn it? Because you may love welding.
- 29:09Speaker 1: You may not like being in class at 8 a.m.
- 29:11Speaker 1: And I'm not saying those things. I'm just asking you
- 29:14Speaker 1: to or suggesting that you try to figure out, well,
- 29:18Speaker 1: what don't I like about it? Because sometimes I'll just
- 29:21Speaker 1: be like, man, I hate that shit. But I never
- 29:23Speaker 1: really look at, well, why do I hate it? And
- 29:25Speaker 1: then I might realize I don't really hate that. I
- 29:27Speaker 1: hate this other thing that comes with that. But I
- 29:32Speaker 1: do believe that if you get into a trade that
- 29:34Speaker 1: you do not like, that you won't enjoy it. And
- 29:37Speaker 1: I do believe that there's things out there that we
- 29:39Speaker 1: can all do that we would enjoy doing. I believe
- 29:43Speaker 1: that there's so many things. So yeah, I would take
- 29:47Speaker 1: a look at that, man. I would take a look
- 29:49Speaker 1: and just decide if you do not like welding and
- 29:52Speaker 1: military as your backup, I think the military is a
- 29:54Speaker 1: great idea. You know, I mean, I, you know, I
- 29:57Speaker 1: don't think it's a bad idea, especially at your age.
- 30:01Speaker 1: I wished I'd have gone in the military. I spent
- 30:03Speaker 1: a lot of time just sitting around, just trying to
- 30:07Speaker 1: lick my own dick or whatever, you know, or, you know,
- 30:10Speaker 1: buying binoculars and shit and just fucking not doing shit
- 30:14Speaker 1: or whatever, being a fucking shitty neighbor or whatever, pervert.
- 30:17Speaker 1: But what you, you know, you, if you go into
- 30:21Speaker 1: the military now, yeah, you're out in four years and
- 30:22Speaker 1: you probably have a lot of skills. You know, you may,
- 30:25Speaker 1: it'll probably help you get up early, stay in shape,
- 30:27Speaker 1: all these things that are going to really help shape
- 30:29Speaker 1: the rest of your life, right? Now, some people may
- 30:32Speaker 1: have went to the military and say, Theo, you know
- 30:33Speaker 1: what the fuck you're talking about, fucking honky, you little
- 30:36Speaker 1: fucking queer, you little gun pussy or whatever. That's fine.
- 30:40Speaker 1: They can say those things. And I don't, I haven't been.
- 30:43Speaker 1: But for you, you're saying that that's what you've thought
- 30:46Speaker 1: of as your backup option, you know? Now, you might,
- 30:49Speaker 1: you know, I don't know how long the military will
- 30:52Speaker 1: be there, you know, depending on what they keep having
- 30:55Speaker 1: our military carry out and the different actions that they
- 30:57Speaker 1: have them do. But, I think it's an honorable thing.
- 31:03Speaker 1: I have a ton of respect for our military. And
- 31:07Speaker 1: I don't think you would go wrong with that choice.
- 31:12Speaker 1: So that's kind of where I'm at with it, you know.
- 31:15Speaker 1: And if you went in there, you know, you'd probably
- 31:16Speaker 1: make a lot of great friends. And you'd learn things
- 31:19Speaker 1: about yourself that you like and don't. And then you'd
- 31:21Speaker 1: be done. And you're right. You'd only be 22 and
- 31:23Speaker 1: a half years old. 23 years old. You have so
- 31:27Speaker 1: much time. There's so much time. Man, I wasted a
- 31:32Speaker 1: lot of time. And one of the things I wish
- 31:33Speaker 1: I'd done as a military, just because I think you
- 31:37Speaker 1: don't also get those moments of camaraderie where you get
- 31:39Speaker 1: to be around a bunch of other guys, you know.
- 31:43Speaker 1: So those are just my thoughts. Recognize I have never
- 31:46Speaker 1: been in the military. But I do think you have
- 31:50Speaker 1: time to do that and do countless other things. And
- 31:53Speaker 1: if you don't like welding, you know you don't like it.
- 31:57Speaker 1: then maybe it is time for a backup trade to
- 31:59Speaker 1: try or a backup option. What else is going on?
- 32:07Speaker 6: Yo, I'm a girl and I like girls.
- 32:10Speaker 1: I had a girlfriend for a while and recently I
- 32:15Speaker 1: found out that... Okay, so you're a girl, you like
- 32:17Speaker 1: girls and okay, carry on.
- 32:20Speaker 7: And recently I found out that my mom's gay too.
- 32:27Speaker 6: So now I.
- 32:30Speaker 7: Don't know if I'm gay anymore.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Oh, big facts, sister. Okay. Oh, once our parents start
- 32:39Speaker 1: doing something, we don't want to do it anymore. So
- 32:43Speaker 1: I think that all checks out. I think you're good.
- 32:46Speaker 1: I think just trust your instincts, little mom. Here we
- 32:50Speaker 1: got a call. Let's hear this one.
- 32:54Speaker 4: You know, sometimes you land on hard times, man, and
- 32:58Speaker 4: you're just trying to get, you know, food to eat
- 33:01Speaker 4: and a place to sleep or whatever. And I'm like,
- 33:05Speaker 4: you know, I got a five-gallon bucket of pickles, and
- 33:09Speaker 4: I'm stealing bananas from the 7-Eleven, man.
- 33:12Speaker 6: I'm going in there, and I'm pocketing these fucking bananas
- 33:15Speaker 6: from the 7-Eleven.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Yeah, those are free.
- 33:19Speaker 6: How long can I last is what I'm thinking.
- 33:22Speaker 4: I was just like, Could I last two months on
- 33:26Speaker 4: a five-gallon bucket of pickles and stealing bananas from 7-Eleven?
- 33:31Speaker 4: Because I'm eating bananas and pickles.
- 33:33Speaker 6: That's all I'm fucking eating.
- 33:35Speaker 4: That's all I got to eat, man. That's all I
- 33:37Speaker 4: got to live upon.
- 33:39Speaker 8: Live upon, man!
- 33:41Speaker 1: Yeah, motherfucker. BLM, dude.
- 33:43Speaker 6: Look.
- 33:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:46Speaker 1: If life gives you pickles and bananas, bitch, mix them, bitches. Okay,
- 33:52Speaker 1: fuck yeah, dude. I mean, there's only so long you
- 33:55Speaker 1: can be trapped somewhere with pickles and bananas and not
- 33:59Speaker 1: put them bitches together, dude. Make some binicles, homie. You
- 34:03Speaker 1: feel me? So, look, some picknanas, homie. I think that
- 34:09Speaker 1: all checks out, brother. So I don't think there's any
- 34:12Speaker 1: shame in it. You can always, once you get your
- 34:16Speaker 1: feet back under you, go back to that 7-Eleven and
- 34:18Speaker 1: give them money for those bananas. Let's hear a little more.
- 34:22Speaker 4: You know, the world is a cruel place. The world
- 34:24Speaker 4: is a cruel fucking place, man. And I realize that, man,
- 34:29Speaker 4: when you're eating pickles and bananas just to survive.
- 34:34Speaker 1: You like pickles on your bananas, boy? You like pickles
- 34:38Speaker 1: on your bananas? You like pickles on your Well, it
- 34:43Speaker 1: blows my mind that we can give so much foreign
- 34:46Speaker 1: aid to places when we have people who are eating
- 34:49Speaker 1: pickles and bananas. Actually, pickles and bananas are pretty good.
- 34:51Speaker 1: So that's not what I mean. But yeah, you would
- 34:53Speaker 1: think we'd be able to help our own people that
- 34:55Speaker 1: are starving first over here. That's just kind of how
- 34:58Speaker 1: I feel. I'm kind of an American. I'm a North
- 35:00Speaker 1: America first kind of guy, I guess, because that's us
- 35:02Speaker 1: and our neighbors. But what the fuck do I know?
- 35:07Speaker 1: But yeah, man, honestly, you sound pretty healthy. You sound
- 35:11Speaker 1: like you're doing pretty good. You ever hit a couple
- 35:12Speaker 1: of high notes, dude? I think you're fine. I'd join
- 35:15Speaker 1: a church choir. Have somebody make some TikToks. See if
- 35:18Speaker 1: you can start selling tickets on the road, brother. You're
- 35:23Speaker 1: going to be fine. But yeah, sometimes we all get
- 35:25Speaker 1: in tough moments. Trying to think of something where I
- 35:31Speaker 1: was kind of down to my last dime. Oh, I
- 35:36Speaker 1: do remember. I'd get that block of damn... Hamburger meat.
- 35:42Speaker 1: That bitch came in a missile. That bitch, they dropped
- 35:47Speaker 1: that bitch off a C-130. That thing, you know what
- 35:49Speaker 1: I'm talking about? It's shaped like a, like both ends
- 35:54Speaker 1: are kind of a wiener, kind of like the front
- 35:57Speaker 1: end of a wiener. God, that thing was heavy. You
- 36:00Speaker 1: had to carry it out like this, you know? And
- 36:03Speaker 1: sometimes I'd mix it up by the damn Duraflame logs
- 36:05Speaker 1: and actually put that bitch in there and just cook
- 36:08Speaker 1: that bitch and have her spoon it out the fire
- 36:10Speaker 1: to eat it. call the fire department. Hey, take some matches, huh? Um,
- 36:20Speaker 1: but yeah, man, it sounds like you're doing okay. Let's
- 36:26Speaker 1: what else is going on? What else can I tell
- 36:28Speaker 1: you about that happened to me recently? Um, not much
- 36:35Speaker 1: going to eat dinner with my neighbors. Looking forward to that. Uh,
- 36:40Speaker 1: Hitting the road for some more shows. Yeah, we went
- 36:44Speaker 1: last week. Oh, Victoria Island, which is a beautiful, fascinating little...
- 36:52Speaker 1: It's like this cold, white Hawaii off of the coast
- 36:55Speaker 1: of Vancouver. But just great people, man. Canadians and grateful
- 37:03Speaker 1: to see them. I'm a Winnipeg Jets fan. Just letting
- 37:07Speaker 1: everybody know that now, too. I don't want that to.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Cause any issues between me and anybody else but that's
- 37:13Speaker 1: i'm a winnipeg jets fan so i think their jerseys
- 37:17Speaker 1: are fire and i like the the i like their
- 37:21Speaker 1: they're doing good and that's good so okay i think
- 37:28Speaker 1: that works what else uh let's take this call right.
- 37:35Speaker 9: Here Hey Theo. Um, hope you're doing well. I'm calling
- 37:39Speaker 9: you today. Um, see if I can get your perspective
- 37:42Speaker 9: on something. Um, my girlfriend of four years, she, uh,
- 37:48Speaker 9: she passed away five and a half months ago. Um, she, uh,
- 37:54Speaker 9: it wasn't not a surprise, but you know, she, she
- 37:57Speaker 9: had cancer. Um, we thought that she had a little
- 37:59Speaker 9: more time, but, um, yeah. Um, Since then, I've spent
- 38:05Speaker 9: most of my time doing nothing, you know. I would
- 38:09Speaker 9: visit her grade every day for months, which is good,
- 38:13Speaker 9: I guess, for getting out of my apartment. But I
- 38:18Speaker 9: would just let the time pass, you know. But recently,
- 38:23Speaker 9: I've started going back to school full-time and working again.
- 38:29Speaker 9: And honestly, I feel like I'm just doing it because it's...
- 38:34Speaker 9: expected of me, you know, from like people around me,
- 38:37Speaker 9: my family and my peers. Um, so maybe some people
- 38:42Speaker 9: just expect me to move forward pretty fast, but you know, I,
- 38:46Speaker 9: I don't.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Want to, you know, um, well, thanks for the call, man. Uh,
- 38:52Speaker 1: I'm sorry to hear about that. I can't even imagine that. Um,
- 38:58Speaker 1: in the sense of losing a girlfriend or a partner, spouse, um,
- 39:05Speaker 1: You know, I've lost people that I've loved, you know,
- 39:11Speaker 1: and yet it feels so impossible because I think it's
- 39:16Speaker 1: so many things at once. It's like, you know, something
- 39:20Speaker 1: is gone and then the finality and the viciousness of
- 39:29Speaker 1: life is so evident. And at the same time, the
- 39:35Speaker 1: preciousness of life and how beautiful life is that it
- 39:41Speaker 1: could even exist, all that happens at the same time.
- 39:46Speaker 1: And then it's not even about us really, because they're
- 39:49Speaker 1: the ones who has life has ended. So there's probably
- 39:54Speaker 1: sometimes feelings of guilt that I had of like feeling bad.
- 40:01Speaker 1: That's I'd lost someone, you know, or not being able
- 40:03Speaker 1: to separate the feelings into, okay, I'm in pain or
- 40:08Speaker 1: I miss them or, um, I'm just loathing in my
- 40:13Speaker 1: own sadness. I'm getting into self pity. Like All those
- 40:16Speaker 1: types of things happened, I remember, for me at the
- 40:19Speaker 1: same time. And for one, it's just so much. And
- 40:26Speaker 1: for two, it's hard to organize it and to even
- 40:29Speaker 1: start to think and decide which feelings go where. I'd
- 40:35Speaker 1: rather just sleep. I'd rather just hope that this goes away.
- 40:38Speaker 1: I'd rather dream. I used to do that a lot.
- 40:41Speaker 1: When my dad died, I would just try and dream
- 40:43Speaker 1: a lot. Because I felt like if I was dreaming,
- 40:45Speaker 1: maybe I had a chance to like see him or
- 40:48Speaker 1: that my feelings could be different or I could be
- 40:50Speaker 1: living a completely different experience. So I think a lot
- 40:57Speaker 1: of it is normal. And I bet it's hard to
- 41:00Speaker 1: get back into the flow of something when you've lost
- 41:02Speaker 1: like a partner. Because you probably think a lot of
- 41:06Speaker 1: your life is having that partner there with you. And
- 41:12Speaker 1: I think even if you're doing something, just even if
- 41:15Speaker 1: you don't feel it, just have the practice of it
- 41:18Speaker 1: until your feelings and your emotional wellness catch up with
- 41:23Speaker 1: your actions. Because one day they will, you know, and
- 41:27Speaker 1: you'll be glad that you had started doing these things. Yeah,
- 41:34Speaker 1: I don't really know what to say, man. I just
- 41:37Speaker 1: appreciate you, like, just telling us what's going on.
- 41:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Maybe some people could call in, actually, and share things.
- 41:48Speaker 1: If you had some experience with the loss of a
- 41:51Speaker 1: loved one, and I would say a wife, because this
- 41:56Speaker 1: is a man calling, I believe. So if you lost
- 41:59Speaker 1: a wife or a girlfriend, and they passed away, and
- 42:05Speaker 1: if you have just maybe some experience with that, if
- 42:09Speaker 1: you could drop a call on the voicemail, 985-664-9503. We
- 42:14Speaker 1: will come back to that on our next solo episode.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I don't know when it'll be. It'll be within the
- 42:18Speaker 1: next month. But we'll come back to that and see
- 42:21Speaker 1: if we have some answers. Maybe we can get some
- 42:22Speaker 1: suggestions from other people. But yeah, man, I hate to
- 42:28Speaker 1: even leave you on this call. But yeah, life is just.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Sometimes it's just a lot of freaking pickles on your chili,
- 42:42Speaker 1: isn't it? Love you, brother. Let's take another call. It's
- 42:49Speaker 1: hard to say when somebody's going through something like that.
- 42:54Speaker 1: You know, but that's just also the oddness of the world.
- 42:56Speaker 1: It just keeps moving. You can't stop it. The world
- 42:58Speaker 1: doesn't have any handlebars on it. Time just doesn't have any.
- 43:03Speaker 1: It doesn't. You can't get your hands into it. That's
- 43:07Speaker 1: the most painful part sometimes of everything. Let's take a
- 43:15Speaker 1: call here.
- 43:18Speaker 8: Hey, Theo. I'm having a really hard time right now.
- 43:24Speaker 8: I'm 16 years old. I don't have a job.
- 43:27Speaker 6: Nothing.
- 43:30Speaker 8: I got my girlfriend pregnant.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 43:35Speaker 8: She just turned 18 actually not too long ago.
- 43:38Speaker 5: I'm just kind of in this moment where I don't
- 43:42Speaker 5: know what's coming for me in life. Like, I feel
- 43:45Speaker 5: like I.
- 43:46Speaker 8: Failed myself because I made stupid adult decisions at such
- 43:50Speaker 8: a young age. And it hurts me really bad. And
- 43:59Speaker 8: I honestly just don't know what to do. I'm kind
- 44:01Speaker 8: of in this, like, moment where I feel like I
- 44:06Speaker 8: failed everybody around me. including my parents.
- 44:10Speaker 5: And I'm just not going to be the dad that
- 44:14Speaker 5: I'm supposed to be.
- 44:15Speaker 2: And I'm just scared.
- 44:19Speaker 8: I'm just looking for any advice.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Well, at least she's not your cousin, brother. I'll start
- 44:28Speaker 1: right there. And people can say, well, that's just, that's
- 44:35Speaker 1: cruel to be joking. But hey, One last thing the
- 44:38Speaker 1: guys got to kind of think about right now. No, man. Look,
- 44:43Speaker 1: first of all, the fact that you're calling even to
- 44:46Speaker 1: talk about this shows, I think, a level of maturity
- 44:49Speaker 1: that is a lot of people wouldn't do.
- 44:52Speaker 2: So, right.
- 44:53Speaker 1: You're curious. You're looking at what's going on. You're evaluating
- 44:55Speaker 1: where you're at and you you're like, well, I want
- 44:58Speaker 1: to get to a place where I feel either confident
- 45:01Speaker 1: about this or I have some support in this. So
- 45:03Speaker 1: how do I get there? Well, I'm going to reach
- 45:05Speaker 1: out to other people and see what's going on. See
- 45:07Speaker 1: if I can get some thoughts, some suggestions, even to
- 45:09Speaker 1: somebody to listen to me. Yeah, that's young to be
- 45:14Speaker 1: out there gunning like that, you know, just to be
- 45:16Speaker 1: rooting through some trap out there with no visor on, daddy,
- 45:21Speaker 1: you know, with no hoodie on. Yeah, but that's the
- 45:25Speaker 1: world we're in. So I wouldn't be, you are where
- 45:30Speaker 1: you are. You could also look at it as that
- 45:31Speaker 1: God has gifted you guys with an opportunity. Uh, I
- 45:37Speaker 1: think people will probably be disappointed maybe in where you're
- 45:41Speaker 1: at because they don't want to see you miss out
- 45:43Speaker 1: on opportunities for yourself that could, uh, that there might
- 45:47Speaker 1: be less of if you have a child. That's probably
- 45:49Speaker 1: what the disappointment is. I don't think it's disappointment in
- 45:52Speaker 1: you having a child. It's probably disappointment that, well, this
- 45:56Speaker 1: may affect your ability to chase some of your dreams
- 45:59Speaker 1: or ideas because you have a responsibility now. Now, I'm
- 46:03Speaker 1: sure that, um, As time goes on and this child
- 46:07Speaker 1: comes into the world, it's going to bring a lot
- 46:08Speaker 1: of love into everybody's life. So don't think about just that, man.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Let me see what else did you say?
- 46:15Speaker 5: I feel like I've failed everybody around me, including my parents.
- 46:21Speaker 5: And I'm just not going to be the dad that I'm.
- 46:25Speaker 8: Supposed to be.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Well, we don't know if you're going to be the
- 46:28Speaker 1: dad that you're supposed to be. That's ways still to
- 46:31Speaker 1: be determined. you know, we don't, we don't know you
- 46:35Speaker 1: that that hasn't happened yet. So don't future trip like that. Um, shit,
- 46:41Speaker 1: the fact that you care about this this much already,
- 46:43Speaker 1: I think you're probably gonna be a pretty caring guy,
- 46:46Speaker 1: you know, and you're going to have a, I'm assuming
- 46:49Speaker 1: a girlfriend or wife or her and her family as
- 46:51Speaker 1: well are going to help support this child. So you
- 46:53Speaker 1: didn't mention that, that that's going to be a fear. Um,
- 46:59Speaker 1: I think everything's going to be okay, dude. I think
- 47:00Speaker 1: it's going to take some time. I bet it's super scary, bro.
- 47:03Speaker 1: 16 years old and you're having a child. That's kind
- 47:09Speaker 1: of scary. I think you got to let this play out, man.
- 47:14Speaker 1: I think you have a chance to be a young dad.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Now that'd be cool. Think about that. You're going to
- 47:20Speaker 1: get to do stuff with your kid that a lot
- 47:22Speaker 1: of parents will not be able to do. So he
- 47:25Speaker 1: gets to play tetherball, get to do probably some racing quads,
- 47:32Speaker 1: like some kind of high-speed shit that some parents kind
- 47:34Speaker 1: of age out of when their kids age into it.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Probably be able to play video games, do some VR-type shit.
- 47:41Speaker 1: So there's going to be interesting stuff. But all I'm
- 47:46Speaker 1: saying is don't let all the fear take away all
- 47:49Speaker 1: the possibility. Now, you're probably going to have to grow
- 47:53Speaker 1: up pretty quick, and there might be a part of
- 47:56Speaker 1: your adolescence you're going to miss out on. Or it's
- 47:58Speaker 1: going to be different or trickier. In fact, you're probably
- 48:02Speaker 1: going to grow up pretty fast in some ways. But
- 48:05Speaker 1: maybe that's what God needs you for. You know? You
- 48:10Speaker 1: just don't know. We don't know what we're needed for
- 48:13Speaker 1: in the future. So just hang in there, man. This
- 48:16Speaker 1: isn't the end of the world. Hell, this is the
- 48:17Speaker 1: beginning of a life that you're responsible for. So it's just,
- 48:22Speaker 1: I know it's got to be scary. It's easy for
- 48:24Speaker 1: me to say that. You know? I'm sure there's going
- 48:26Speaker 1: to be moments where it's really scary. but try to
- 48:29Speaker 1: squeeze into those moments of fear some possibility. Man, because
- 48:35Speaker 1: that's cool, dude. You get to make a child. You
- 48:38Speaker 1: get to have a child that you're going to take
- 48:40Speaker 1: care of. So amen, brother, and God luck to you.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Is pornography causing a problem in your life? Do you
- 48:51Speaker 1: find yourself watching porno for longer periods of time and
- 48:55Speaker 1: having trouble stopping? Is porn affecting your relationship or dating life? Well,
- 49:02Speaker 1: you're certainly not alone. Watching pornography has become so commonplace today,
- 49:08Speaker 1: and oftentimes men use porn to numb the pain of loneliness, boredom, anxiety,
- 49:14Speaker 1: and depression. Shame and stigma prevent men from talking about
- 49:18Speaker 1: these issues and getting help for them. I want to
- 49:22Speaker 1: introduce you to my friend Steve. Steve is the founder
- 49:25Speaker 1: of Valor Recovery, a program to help men overcome porn
- 49:28Speaker 1: abuse and sexual compulsivity. Steve is a long-term sexual recovery
- 49:33Speaker 1: member and has personally overcame the emotional and and has

- 49:44Speaker 1: Steve is an amazing person, and he is a close
- 49:47Speaker 1: friend of mine. I mean that. Valor Recovery helps men
- 49:51Speaker 1: to develop the tools necessary to have a healthier sex life.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Their coaches are in long-term recovery and will be your partner, mentor,
- 49:59Speaker 1: and spiritual guide to transcend these problematic behaviors. To learn
- 50:04Speaker 1: more about Valor Recovery, please visit them at www.valorrecoverycoaching.com or
- 50:14Speaker 1: email them at admin at valorrecoverycoaching.com. Thank you. From time
- 50:24Speaker 1: to time on this program, we talk with miracles, human
- 50:27Speaker 1: beings that have, that are the corn of the, that
- 50:33Speaker 1: are the cream of the death crop. People that have
- 50:36Speaker 1: come so close to to the grave, but managed to
- 50:40Speaker 1: stay out of it. Big bosses. We call them big bosses.
- 50:45Speaker 1: They call them in some, um, Polynesian areas. And today
- 50:51Speaker 1: we're grateful to be able to talk with another miracle here.
- 50:54Speaker 1: There he is. Big dog, Matt. How are you?
- 50:56Speaker 2: I'm living the dream, man. Living the dream.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Amen, brother.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:02Speaker 1: We love to get to talk to people who've had
- 51:04Speaker 1: miracle experiences in their lives and I just really appreciate
- 51:07Speaker 1: your time today. How do you say your last name there, brother?
- 51:11Speaker 2: Tyberg. Matthias Tyberg. Oh, this angle makes me look so fat,
- 51:17Speaker 2: but that's okay.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Oh, that's fine, man. My sister's fat. And that's perfectly fine.
- 51:25Speaker 1: Matthias Tyberg, where are you located, brother?
- 51:27Speaker 2: I live in Calgary, Alberta.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Yeah, a lot of good people up there
- 51:34Speaker 1: eating steaks and just What are they doing? Mining for gold.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Is that the gold area?
- 51:41Speaker 2: Gold, oil, yeah.
- 51:44Speaker 1: Memphis gold.
- 51:46Speaker 2: Memphis gold, yeah.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Now, you've had quite an experience in your life. I've
- 51:53Speaker 1: heard that you've had a couple miracles kind of occur
- 51:54Speaker 1: in your life. Can you kind of take me through
- 51:58Speaker 1: some of that situation? Yeah, how did it start?
- 52:02Speaker 2: Um, well, there's so many different situations. I mean, I've
- 52:07Speaker 2: been at a party where I seen somebody that jumped
- 52:11Speaker 2: me before. So I told them, let's run the fade
- 52:15Speaker 2: or just apologize to me. And I guess he didn't
- 52:20Speaker 2: want to do that. So he ended up chasing me
- 52:23Speaker 2: and I tripped and I got stabbed 10 times at once. Oh,
- 52:29Speaker 2: two thirds of the blood in my body.
- 52:31Speaker 1: My God, brother. I'm sorry to hear that. Thank you
- 52:34Speaker 1: for just telling us about that. Ten times, that's a lot.
- 52:38Speaker 1: I mean, did they... Do you... Do you feel like
- 52:44Speaker 1: that was a lot?
- 52:44Speaker 6: You don't really.
- 52:45Speaker 1: You feel like that was too many? Like, how did you.
- 52:48Speaker 2: Honestly, you can't feel it because all of your nerves
- 52:51Speaker 2: are on the top of your skin. So it just
- 52:54Speaker 2: feels like you're getting punched, but you're bleeding, you're leaking.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Oh, God, brother. And if two-thirds of you is gone,
- 53:03Speaker 1: what do you do at that point? Were you able
- 53:05Speaker 1: to call the authorities or what do you do?
- 53:08Speaker 2: Oh, one of my buddies was on the phone with
- 53:11Speaker 2: EMS and Snapchatting it.
- 53:15Speaker 1: He was Snapchatting also?
- 53:16Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Oh, dark times, but you got to make content, you know?
- 53:21Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 53:22Speaker 1: And which hole do you plug? Say you have 10
- 53:25Speaker 1: stab wounds, I guess. They're referred to as by the
- 53:28Speaker 1: government or whatever. Do you plug one up? Do you
- 53:32Speaker 1: pick the most kind of active one? What do you
- 53:36Speaker 1: do there?
- 53:37Speaker 2: Honestly, yeah. You don't really know what to hold on to, man.
- 53:45Speaker 2: It was more or less my stomach hurt. So that's
- 53:49Speaker 2: why I was holding my stomach. But I was half
- 53:53Speaker 2: dead by the time I got to the hospital.
- 53:56Speaker 1: Did you pass out?
- 53:58Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Wow.
- 54:00Speaker 1: And did you have any experience? Do you remember anything
- 54:02Speaker 1: when you passed out?
- 54:04Speaker 2: I just remember because I was on Xanax, too. So
- 54:07Speaker 2: I woke up in the hospital. And then, yeah, I
- 54:11Speaker 2: woke up in the hospital and then apparently you're only
- 54:14Speaker 2: allowed two visitors at once and eight people come at
- 54:17Speaker 2: once to come visit me. So then they kicked me
- 54:20Speaker 2: out of the hospital like three days after it happened.
- 54:24Speaker 1: Because what, you guys were partying a little too much
- 54:26Speaker 1: or whatever?
- 54:26Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much.
- 54:29Speaker 1: And were you allowed to drink in the hospital or no?
- 54:32Speaker 2: No, no, I wouldn't drink. They were just mad because
- 54:35Speaker 2: all my friends showed up at once to see if
- 54:38Speaker 2: I was okay.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of people don't live through something like that, man.
- 54:44Speaker 7: No.
- 54:45Speaker 2: I've been hit by the C train. Oh, yeah, the
- 54:48Speaker 2: best one is.
- 54:49Speaker 1: Wait, hold on. You got hit by a.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Well, what happened was my buddy knew this foreign exchange student.
- 54:58Speaker 2: He gave money to these guys to try and buy
- 55:00Speaker 2: him a pack of cigarettes. These guys are like 30
- 55:03Speaker 2: years old, and they just told him to fuck off.
- 55:05Speaker 2: We're keeping your money.
- 55:07Speaker 9: Mm-hmm.
- 55:09Speaker 2: So i decided to go up and punch him as
- 55:11Speaker 2: hard as i could in the head and i didn't
- 55:13Speaker 2: realize the police are there so i'm getting chased by
- 55:16Speaker 2: this guy's buddy with like a foot long knife i
- 55:20Speaker 2: keep looking back still getting chased by the guy with
- 55:24Speaker 2: the knife then i look back it's the cops chasing
- 55:27Speaker 2: me so i'm at one end of a semi and
- 55:30Speaker 2: the cop is at the other end of a semi
- 55:32Speaker 2: truck Yeah, we're playing peek-a-boo to see where to go.
- 55:37Speaker 2: I'm wearing a bright red Chicago Bulls jacket, and I'm
- 55:42Speaker 2: freaking hammered.
- 55:43Speaker 1: Dude, that's a fresh outfit, baby. Scotty dripping, huh?
- 55:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and what happened was I ended up getting arrested
- 55:52Speaker 2: for assault. I got bailed two weeks later. I'm at
- 55:56Speaker 2: the same train station that I punched the guy at.
- 55:59Speaker 2: I'm hammered standing on the platform. And then I get
- 56:03Speaker 2: sucker punched in the back of the head. And oh,
- 56:06Speaker 2: who is it? The guy stole that kid's 20 bucks.
- 56:10Speaker 2: And then he just ended up pushing me like that.
- 56:13Speaker 2: And I fell onto the train tracks and the train
- 56:16Speaker 2: was coming in. So there's, I didn't know what to do.
- 56:20Speaker 2: I just throw my body above the yellow line and
- 56:23Speaker 2: it caught my legs and dragged me like 15 feet.
- 56:28Speaker 2: They like rip my shoes off, rip my pants in half.
- 56:31Speaker 1: Oh God, it's a pervert basically.
- 56:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:36Speaker 1: Yeah. That train was a pedophile also. That sounds like
- 56:40Speaker 1: a bit much, huh? Dude, that's insane, man. So, and
- 56:44Speaker 1: were you drunk or were you already impaired when the
- 56:47Speaker 1: train hit you or what kind of condition were you
- 56:49Speaker 1: in physically just at that point in your life?
- 56:52Speaker 2: Oh yeah. I was an everyday alcoholic. We would all,
- 56:56Speaker 2: all the boys would meet.
- 56:58Speaker 1: I got this question though. Sorry to interrupt you there,
- 57:01Speaker 1: but what kind of train driver would hit a drunk,
- 57:04Speaker 1: just hit a guy, would hit a drunk guy? Did
- 57:08Speaker 1: you ever speak to the driver?
- 57:11Speaker 2: No. Well, the thing is, is the C train's moving
- 57:15Speaker 2: so fast, right? So it's coming to dock into the
- 57:18Speaker 2: station to let everybody off. There's nothing he really could
- 57:22Speaker 2: have done to, I don't know.
- 57:24Speaker 1: You can see a white dude most of the time,
- 57:26Speaker 1: you know, no matter what's going on, but damn brother,
- 57:29Speaker 1: I can't believe that. And so, so you were stabbed
- 57:32Speaker 1: 10 times. You've been hit by a train, but God
- 57:36Speaker 1: had more in store for you. Didn't he? What else happened?
- 57:39Speaker 2: Um, the biggest one was the balcony. Cause I ended
- 57:43Speaker 2: up buying some cocaine that wasn't, wasn't all cocaine. So
- 57:48Speaker 2: there was meth in it.
- 57:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah. Right. Them moguls got some bounce to them, huh?
- 57:54Speaker 2: Shit, man. Every time I looked through the little hole
- 57:57Speaker 2: in my door to be four people outside with weapons
- 58:00Speaker 2: trying to bust in. That's what I would see. I'm
- 58:03Speaker 2: dragging the couch.
- 58:04Speaker 1: Like a diorama kind of.
- 58:06Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. I'm dragging the couch with the landlord on
- 58:09Speaker 2: it to the front door to try and block it.
- 58:12Speaker 1: Damn, brother.
- 58:12Speaker 2: He told me to go to bed. So I went
- 58:16Speaker 2: to bed and woke up. All I could do was
- 58:19Speaker 2: get a glass of water. I looked through that people
- 58:22Speaker 2: in the door and the same thing. People looks like
- 58:26Speaker 2: people with guns are trying to bust in the apartment.
- 58:29Speaker 2: So I tried to go from my balcony over to
- 58:32Speaker 2: the neighbors and I'm on the seventh floor.
- 58:35Speaker 1: So can we, let's, let's, who are they?
- 58:39Speaker 2: There was nobody even in there. That's why I was
- 58:41Speaker 2: trying to get over to the thing.
- 58:45Speaker 1: Is that a jump you're trying to make? Or did
- 58:46Speaker 1: you have a kind of a rope set up or
- 58:48Speaker 1: anything like that? Um, did you have a little trebuchet, anything?
- 58:54Speaker 2: Shit, like you could, if you reached across, you could
- 58:56Speaker 2: pass a beer to your neighbor. So it wasn't that far.
- 59:00Speaker 2: I just kind of was trying to leapfrog over. I
- 59:03Speaker 2: know it's kind of stupid, but when you're fucked up
- 59:06Speaker 2: like that.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Well, it's a great idea.
- 59:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:10Speaker 1: The thing. People don't realize that people that are wasted
- 59:12Speaker 1: have done amazing things. You know, one of the guys,
- 59:15Speaker 1: have you heard of Lewis and Clark?
- 59:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so.
- 59:21Speaker 1: One of them was an addict and they discovered like
- 59:24Speaker 1: a third of the North America. So let's don't. You
- 59:28Speaker 1: can't always beat down on addicts. But so take me
- 59:31Speaker 1: out there. You're on the balcony. You're high on cocaine.
- 59:34Speaker 1: And what is your plan is to make that leap
- 59:36Speaker 1: over to the other balcony?
- 59:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 59:40Speaker 2: And then the shitty, I guess the shittiest attempt ever.
- 59:44Speaker 1: Was it windy? Was it windy?
- 59:47Speaker 2: Yes, it was. Yeah. Brother.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Big Matty, dude. Taking on the freaking Boreas twins, brother.
- 59:55Speaker 1: Taking on the Jetstream up there. Seventh floor Matty. One shot.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: And how do you make that leap, dude? Take me
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: through that. Are you wearing shoes?
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: At first, I stood up right on the thing and
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: held my hand on the wall, but I was wobbling.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: With the balcony? yeah on the rail of it so
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: then i was wobbling so i was like oh shit
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: i'm gonna fall so i like crouched down to try
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: and like leap like that oh yeah.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Get some uh build up a little bit of energy
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: or whatever what is it called potential energy you crouched.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: Down yeah yeah leap my leapfrog my way down all
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: the way 70 feet.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: What happened did you bounce off the rail or you
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: even hit the other balcony.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't even hit the other balcony.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: I'm sorry, dude. Sorry to laugh. There's a glitch in
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: the audio.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's all good. I laugh about it, dude.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes, you know?
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's one way to look at it, man.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: But I think another way to look at it is
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: that you're a miracle, you know? A lot of people
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: do not get to live through stabbings, through train hittings,
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: through falling. How far do you fall?
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: 70 feet.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Okay. And take me, Jesus Christ, that's a lot. And
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: take me through some of that. Like when you first
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: hit the, once you first realized you're not going to
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: make the first balcony, were there lower balconies you could
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: have grabbed?
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: Uh, not when, cause damn you fall so fast. I
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: was 200 pounds at the time. And if you weigh
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: 200 pounds and you go over fifth, fall 50 feet,
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: you go terminal velocity. Really? So I, yeah, I hit
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: the ground going terminal velocity for the last 20 feet.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: Big dog went down brother.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: God, dude.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: And so what were some of your thoughts during that?
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: Did you get into a certain position to absorb the
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: impact or were you just kind of like letting... Were
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: you praying? What was going on?
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: When I fell down, actually, I seen like some people
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: on like the third or fourth or whatever floor it was.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: They were outside smoking on their balcony.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: Oh, that's pretty cool.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: I hit the ground. They look over at me and
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: I tell them to bring me some liquor because I
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: know I'm going to the hospital. I can't move my
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: damn body. And I was an alcoholic at the time. Wow.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Who survives that, brother?
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: I don't know, man. I've honestly almost died even more
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: times than that. Like when I was a baby, I
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: fell into a motel pool while my parents weren't there.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: And I was drowned, pronounced dead. And I came back. So, yeah.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Well, you must feel like God wants you here for
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: a reason, brother.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: What do you feel like that is after all this?
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: I mean, that's countless times you've escaped death, man. you know, a,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: you know, forced to swim as a baby train hitting, stabbing, stabbing, uh,
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: or hot, you know, high amount stabbing 70 foot fall
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: off of a balcony.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: Yeah. I've been stabbed other times too.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: But I think, right. I understand what you're getting at,
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: but I think, what do you feel like you're, do
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: you feel like you have a bigger purpose? There's a
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: reason a lot of people are not able to go
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: through all that, man. You understand that's pretty miraculous. Do
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: you understand that?
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: Amen, brother. And how are you doing today? What's your
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: physical state today?
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: I'm a tetraplegic, so I can't feel or move anything
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: chest down. I can move my arms, but my fingers
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: are stuck like this.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, kind of like Muhammad Ali or whatever? Yeah.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: Yeah. But at the end of the day, I don't
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: ever complain about it because, man, I'm the one who
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: wanted to do coke. And I can't blame that on
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: somebody else.
- 1:03:59Speaker 5: I mean.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: And you're a survivor, brother. You're a damn survivor, dude.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: You're a damn... You know what I'm saying? You're a
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: damn gravity monkey, dude. Do you think you will ever
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: walk again, brother?
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: Um.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: Probably not but I'm okay with that I don't really
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: I love watching YouTube there's so much people come up
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: with stuff every day oh yeah gives me something to do.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: Oh yeah you can watch people walk on YouTube all
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: day if you want and take it easy you know
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: um yeah but man I just yeah I appreciate you
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: just jumping on and I appreciate you paying attention to
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: the show and um yeah we're gonna come to Calgary
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: dude you gotta come out I'd love to get to
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: meet you out.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: There Yeah, I'm coming. I already got my VIP tickets, so.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Sweet, bro. Well, yeah, we'll have to catch up, dude.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: I want to touch some magic limbs you got on you, daddy.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: I want to rub them bitches for good luck. Hell yeah.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Where do you live these days, man?
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: I live in, well, now I'm so crippled, I got
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: to live in like a long-term care home. So I'm
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: the youngest here. It's pretty much just older people.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Any chicks in there or what?
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: No, not really. Any disabled chicks.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: You got to pray to meet the one you want.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: That's what my friend told me the other day. He said,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: are you praying to meet the woman you want to meet?
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: So I got to start working on that.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: I kind of gave up because once you sever your
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: spinal cord, man, you can't even bust a nut. I
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: haven't busted a nut since I fell from that balcony.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Oh, damn. How long before you had fallen had you
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: busted a nut, you think?
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: The day before.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Amen, brother.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: Amen.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Finish strong.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: Yeah, finish strong.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: And look, man, you're going to bust one. If we
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: can do anything, if we hear of anything that could
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: help you, any elixirs or anything like that, we'll see
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: what we can do, man. But yeah, dude, if you
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: can get hit by a train... and still be alive
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: or whatever, you can, you'll get another nut out.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah. That would be nice.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: Amen, brother. Well, thank you so much, dude. Give my
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: best to everybody up there in Calgary, bro. America's getting weird.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: We're probably all going to come up there soon. So, uh, say,
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: say me room up there, big dog.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Yeah. Calgary is probably the best, nicest city in Canada,
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: I think so.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Dude, Canada is so great, man. And it's safe, too.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: That's the best thing about your stories, I noticed, is
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: that you didn't get shot.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: In one of them.
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: I've been shot at, but.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: But that don't count. You got to come to America
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: to get shot, brother. That's where we do it.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: They won't let me across the border.
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: Oh, we'll see what we can do. Well, look, right
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: now you're probably an insurance risk, I would guess, so.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: yeah um but yeah dude that's a good thing about
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Canada they got knives so you always stand a chance
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: you know that's one thing I like.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: Yeah yeah at least you're not getting shot just killed instantly.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: Yeah that's so bullshit and lame dude I mean look
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: at you if you got shot that first time you
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: wouldn't even um you wouldn't even got hit by a
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: train that's crazy to say but you wouldn't you know
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: the other stuff wouldn't even have happened you wouldn't have
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: had these other experiences you know Yeah.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: You're like the worst Evel Knievel in some ways, you know?
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: Sorry, dude. That's not funny, bud.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: It's all good. It is funny, dude. I laugh at anything, man.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: If I didn't become a criminal before, I would have
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: became a comedian, dude. I just didn't have any father
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: figure in my life, so... I was homeless, 16 years old, downtown,
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: selling weed. So... Not making good choices, but.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Well, you're alive today, man. Yeah, I do believe that
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: you're here for a purpose. And even just sharing your
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: story right here today, man, you know, resilience is huge.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: And I think the future is bright, brother. I believe that.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: And I'm just glad I got to talk to you today.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: And well, we got our first Canadian miracle right there, Matt.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: How do you say your last name?
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Tyberg.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: Matt Tyberg right there. Ladies and gentlemen, if you don't
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: believe in miracles, uh, you got to believe in them now.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: That's what I feel like. And, uh, Matt, thanks for
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: your time, dude. I look forward to catching up with
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: you in a couple of months.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: All right. Awesome. Sounds good. Have a great day. All right.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: You too, brother. Cheers, man.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: Cheers.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: Matthew Tyberg right there. Let's see if we got one
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: more call that came in here.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: Uh, Hey, Theo.
- 1:08:48Speaker 8: This is Willie Bones.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: What's up, pal? Willie Bones coming through, baby. Breaker Breaker 1-9.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: Go through, Bones.
- 1:08:57Speaker 9: What's up, gang?
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: Yo, man.
- 1:08:59Speaker 9: Um i just got one question for you man like
- 1:09:02Speaker 9: um i'm dealing with.
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: Active addiction with you know the blow or whatever but.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: Yeah doing cocaine brother i hear you what's going on
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: and i'm.
- 1:09:11Speaker 9: Just i just want some tips or some advice man
- 1:09:14Speaker 9: on how i can keep this shit like there's that problems, man.
- 1:09:18Speaker 6: I said, I'm going to stop. Never do.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: Sure.
- 1:09:20Speaker 6: You know, you went through the same shit, but.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: Well, thanks for calling Willie. Um, the only things I
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: know about this are, I don't think you can, uh,
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: quit cocaine without quitting alcohol. That's for me. That's what
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: I've seen. I'm not saying that's everybody's case. I'm not,
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: that's for me, for me, that's what I've seen. And
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: then let me think about what else. Um, Yeah, I
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: think you have to get into recovery. Now, if you're
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: pretty bad off, first you need to go to a detox.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: And then once you're clean, then you need to get
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: into a recovery program. You know, maybe a 30-day or
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: an inpatient or then start to go to Cocaine Anonymous
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: or Alcoholics Anonymous meetings with a friend. If you don't
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: like Cocaine Anonymous meetings, I suggest Alcoholics Anonymous because there's
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: more meetings and it's the same thing. Cocaine and alcohol
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: aren't the same thing, but addiction is the same. So
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: if you can... you can apply the same principles and
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: you can talk to a sponsor about doing that I
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: wish I had some other cure for you that's the
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: only thing that I know that's ever helped me so
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: I wish you the best of luck man it's scary
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: you know what I realized too about drugs for me
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: I was just too much of a pussy to do
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: them really some people could get all fucked up and
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: have a blast I couldn't do that I'd get all
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: fucked up and squirrel away I'd hide in your fucking
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: mailbox bitch UPS boy I'll hide in your cousin's ass, boy.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: And take everybody's temperature in there, dog. Praise God, man.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Thank you for calling, brother. And thank you guys again
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: for all the support. We may add a few more
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: shows to this tour. We're almost done with it. And
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: I just want to let you know that. And thank
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: you to everybody that's come out. I can't even believe it.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: What else can I update you on? Oh, we're figuring
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: out some of our stuff with the foundation and what
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: we're going to do. Been doing some calls. with different
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: people and just figuring out how to, like, make a
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: positive difference in the world or in our community starting there.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: So that's something that's exciting. I want it to be
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: in the recovery space. I don't know what it all
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: looks like. But in my spare time, I've been just
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: discussing with other people who have done similar type things.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: And I just need to pray a little bit more
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: and see if I can get more insight, you know.
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: Just to lead me to something. Because, yeah. I mean,
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: there's causes for sure. There's lots of things. But I
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: want to land in a space that I'm going to
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: feel motivated to keep doing. You know? One more call
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: that came in.
- 1:12:01Speaker 7: Hi, Theo. It's Lenore from Florida.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: Hey, Lenore from Florida. Thank you for calling.
- 1:12:10Speaker 7: I'm calling to wish you a happy birthday, because if
- 1:12:14Speaker 7: I remember right.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: It's March 17th.
- 1:12:19Speaker 7: Anyway, I'm sending you a big virtual hug. I want
- 1:12:22Speaker 7: you to know you're a very special person, a shining
- 1:12:25Speaker 7: light of not only laughs, but of so much love
- 1:12:29Speaker 7: and compassion. I hope you're doing whatever makes you happy today.
- 1:12:34Speaker 7: Keep shining your light. Love you, Theo.
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: Gangs.
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: Oh, thanks, Lenore. That's sweet of you. I appreciate that. Yeah,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: that's just sweet of you to say. I feel, you know,
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: I think I feel a little more purposeful sometimes in
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: my life these days, I think. I think there was
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: this moment kind of even when I had, whenever we
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: talked with Cat Williams on the episode and he said, well,
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: I was talking about, well, I don't know about this.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: I don't know about that. And he's like, well, what
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: don't you know? He's like, You're here. You're in this
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: conversation right now. You're in this moment. So to keep
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: second-guessing everything, you know, you're here.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: Like, I think there was something like, I don't know
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: if we should talk about that. He's like, well, when
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: are we going to talk about it? We have to
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: talk about it. We're here talking about it. You know,
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: in a lot of my life, I've been standing in.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: You know, I've been standing in the, in the water,
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: but not really ready to get wet. But it's like,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: but I'm, I'm in the water, you know, but it's like,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: I'm waiting for this. But there was this moment with
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: him where he's just like, this is where you are.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: This is, and I don't mean me, but it's anybody.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: This is where this it's, if it's happening now, it's
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: happening now. Like the, you know, Because a lot of them,
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: I'm always like, you know, this and later and it's like,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: you know. So I do feel sometimes a little more purposeful.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: I don't know even what that means exactly. But I just,
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: I don't know. I start to feel a little bit
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: more okay where I am, you know. And that, yeah,
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: I believe that, yeah, I believe that God's given me
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: a lot of neat stuff. Like, you know, I believe
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: that you guys have helped me learn like how to
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: express like my feelings and learn about.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: Yeah, just thinking and feeling together. We've done a lot
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: of that on this program over the years. And yeah,
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: I think at some point, you know.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: There are... positives from that, you know? And so I think, um, yeah,
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: that's where I feel. I feel like a little bit
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: like there's a reason that all this has kind of
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: happened and that there are some positives and let's start
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: to maybe see what those are. And not just in me,
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: but just like, yeah, what, what can be done as
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: a group? What, what can, uh, start or be a
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: part of starting? Um, or what can we be a
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: part of starting that could, uh, be of service, you know,
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know exactly what I'm saying, but,
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: but I'm able to say it now more than I
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: felt like I was in the past and feel like
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: that's where I'm supposed to be. So you gotta feel
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: lucky to be alive, you know, lucky to get to
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: see certain things. And I think America's getting weird and
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: interesting and it's getting like good versus evil type shit.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: And I'm here for that shit. You know, I think
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: we've all always wanted to live in like In the
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: Gryffindor vs. Slytherin type shit. Type shit. But anyway, thank you.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: Thanks for the happy birthday wishes. What did I do?
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: My buddy John Shahidi from Happy Dad sent me a gift.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: I haven't even opened it yet. Did my brother give
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: me something?
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: My brother came in town too. And his buddy's friend
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: was up here visiting their kid. Their kid was in
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: show choir at the Grand Ole Opry, or at the
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: Opry Mills. So I got to spend some time with them.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: What else did we do? Took mom to my favorite
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: breakfast place. That was fun. Oh, my mom did give
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: me a gift. She got me an ounce of silver.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: My mom was never a gold digger. She was a
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: silver digger, though. Shout out to silver diggers, dude. They
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: don't end up with shit, but you know, but they're
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: not gold diggers, dude. But my mom, like, you know,
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: she's ready for like the end of things.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: So she's ready. She's like when the banks go awry
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: and all the, you know, everything falls apart online, you're
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: going to have, so you could have real silver and
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: you can trade it for stuff. So she got me, um,
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: like an ounce of silver. So that was really cool.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: I never had that. And what else? Oh, I got
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: a pair of boots, bought myself a pair of boots
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: that I really like. And what else did I do? Oh,
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: I texted some of my friends that had the same birthday.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: Trying to think. Oh, I had to work. I had
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: a podcast that I did with a hostage negotiator. That
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: was pretty cool. So got to do that. And did I?
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: Is that when I did that?
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: Yep. Yeah.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: So that's what I did, man. I did the things, yeah,
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: that I like to do on my birthday. I think
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: I went and worked out. I got to podcast. I
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: got to listen to some music with my mom. And
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: it was great. And I'm grateful to be here with
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: you guys today. And, yeah, thank you, Lenore, for the
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: sweet message. And I don't know what that was. And
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: thank you, everybody, for the support. And, yeah, the hotline
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: is always, if you need it, 985-664-9503. And yeah, there's
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: a light out there for all of us, man. You know,
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: for all types of people. And life sometimes, you know,
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: you just don't get it the way you want it,
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: but it's still, I don't know. Sometimes you got to
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: meet it halfway, man. Sometimes you got to put your
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: own pickles on your chili, brother.
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: But there's a light.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: For all of us. You got to be good to yourselves, baby.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: You deserve it, man.
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: Whenever you're down Out in the cold Faceless and tired.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: Your story's untold. Come take my hand. And walk there
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: with me.
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: I know a place.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: Where we can be free. There is a light. Shining
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: for you. Who needs matches? Guiding your way. I'm on fire.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: Hey! Hey!
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Two shots of fireball. The Bronx is burning. From the
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: mountaintops and to the deepest valleys, we hear a voice
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: calling you. Do the trump. And rising stars. You can
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: be free.
- 1:20:07Speaker 9: I'm upstairs.
