- 0:08Speaker 1: And I invited you here. I thought I made myself
- 0:14Speaker 1: perfectly clear. When you're a guest to my home, you
- 0:21Speaker 1: gotta come to me empty. And I said, no, guests,
- 0:27Speaker 1: your presences presents enough. I already had too much stuff,
- 0:35Speaker 1: So how do you dare to surbey me?
- 0:49Speaker 2: Welcome to I said, no gifts. I'm Richard Wineger. We're
- 0:54Speaker 2: in the backyard. It's been an interesting little morning for me,
- 0:58Speaker 2: I think for everyone, but mostly for me. The power
- 1:03Speaker 2: was out, so I had to well, it's just been
- 1:08Speaker 2: stressful because it was raining all weekend. But my home
- 1:11Speaker 2: didn't flood. So you know, any time my house isn't
- 1:15Speaker 2: full of water, it's a good time. So I'm feeling fine.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I'm wearing a fantastic shade of green, and everybody knows it.
- 1:24Speaker 2: What's going on. Oh, I had to take an ice
- 1:25Speaker 2: cold shower. That was the big thing for me this morning,
- 1:28Speaker 2: an ice cold shower in the dark, and I try
- 1:31Speaker 2: to imagine, you know, maybe I'm under a beautiful waterfall
- 1:35Speaker 2: and that will help. That helps for two seconds, and
- 1:38Speaker 2: then it was agony. So but I'm awake. I'm alert
- 1:43Speaker 2: as much as I can be. At eleven fifteen, is
- 1:46Speaker 2: there anything else going on. I'm scanning my brain. I
- 1:49Speaker 2: don't think anything else is happening. My house isn't flooding.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Thank god. That's all we can That's I'm just so thankful.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Let's get into the podcast. I'm a mess. Today's guest
- 2:00Speaker 2: is absolutely fantastic. It's Mo Fry passic, Mo Hi friend.
- 2:04Speaker 2: I said, no gifts.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I'm so happy to be here.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Thank you for experiencing this entire situation leading up to
- 2:11Speaker 2: the recording.
- 2:12Speaker 4: I I adore that this is what you identify as
- 2:14Speaker 4: a situation, because I feel like listeners should know.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Like it was like I like, walked in. It was
- 2:20Speaker 3: really nice. She said, do you want to water? You
- 2:22Speaker 3: set up some cables, and.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Then at one point both of you individually said I'm
- 2:26Speaker 4: so embarrassed. Whoa, I don't know for what, and I
- 2:30Speaker 4: does not go, yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Well, you know, we're ten minutes late. I just don't
- 2:36Speaker 2: like to I like the guests to just be walk in,
- 2:41Speaker 2: walk out, not see a moment of it. So for
- 2:44Speaker 2: I mean, my phone is currently as we talked about,
- 2:47Speaker 2: the battery is hanging by a thread.
- 2:49Speaker 3: The real macguiver situation.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yes, sure, attached to all sorts of bat or power chords.
- 2:55Speaker 4: A power cord attached to a power cord to a
- 2:59Speaker 4: kind of vinta Apple charter.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yes, everything is just you know, I just pushed my
- 3:06Speaker 2: life to the absolute limit right before the breaking point.
- 3:10Speaker 2: And that you've met me today at the breaking point.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Oh, I love that, which feels wonderful meeting such a
- 3:15Speaker 4: raw form.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Thank you for showing up.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Of course it rained all weekend. How was your rain experience?
- 3:21Speaker 3: I love rain.
- 3:23Speaker 4: It's like you know, I find in La the little
- 3:25Speaker 4: cloudy weather is like a little jacket for the world
- 3:28Speaker 4: where it's like, don't talk to me right now, you know,
- 3:30Speaker 4: like there's no pressure to go outside, there's no pressure
- 3:32Speaker 4: to like right, So I appreciate.
- 3:35Speaker 2: That you don't get sir crazy.
- 3:37Speaker 4: No, No, you could put me in a dark room
- 3:40Speaker 4: for a very long time. I always say two doesn't
- 3:41Speaker 4: want to space odyssey at the end, I'd be fine,
- 3:43Speaker 4: you know what I mean. I just like daydream But oh,
- 3:46Speaker 4: look at this, Look at this gorgeous like fabric in
- 3:48Speaker 4: this room.
- 3:49Speaker 2: I can I feel like I should be better at
- 3:52Speaker 2: staying home. But what are you go out and do?
- 3:56Speaker 2: I think I just need to know that I can sure.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Of course, the option I need to know that I
- 4:02Speaker 2: can just hop in the car and I can. I mean,
- 4:04Speaker 2: it's just raining, but I don't like to get my
- 4:06Speaker 2: shoes wet. I need to get better waterproof shoes or something.
- 4:09Speaker 4: So then when it is nice out, are you then
- 4:11Speaker 4: in the same opposite way of being like I'm staying inside.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Of course, okay nice. It's a broken system completely.
- 4:16Speaker 3: It's a demand avoidant system.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:20Speaker 4: But also when I came here, it's like I keep
- 4:22Speaker 4: feeling like I've say to Analis that it felt like
- 4:25Speaker 4: Costa Rica a little bit.
- 4:26Speaker 3: But then I realized what it feels like.
- 4:28Speaker 2: What it almost there? An animal back here? Yeah, cutie,
- 4:32Speaker 2: oh oh fantastic. Yeah. We have a couple of cats
- 4:36Speaker 2: that have been visiting recently, and I really love to
- 4:38Speaker 2: see it.
- 4:40Speaker 4: But this feels like I'm visiting Billy Collins and three
- 4:44Speaker 4: in Hawaii when he's put laureate and I'm in his
- 4:46Speaker 4: backyard and there's tropical plants and We're going to go
- 4:49Speaker 4: talk art and and be intelligent, witty yet poetic.
- 4:53Speaker 3: You know, as I said, this.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Has come to the wrong place. You've come to the
- 4:56Speaker 2: absolute wrong No, that's that's the vibe. I'm always to
- 5:00Speaker 2: shoot early thousands Hawaii. Yeah. No, I love the clouds
- 5:05Speaker 2: and I'm growing. I'm relearning to love the rain because,
- 5:08Speaker 2: as I was telling you pre podcast, the house flooded
- 5:11Speaker 2: two years in a row, and it's you know, the
- 5:12Speaker 2: trauma has just seeped into my bones.
- 5:15Speaker 3: But how do you had natural disaster damage prior to this?
- 5:18Speaker 2: No, but I have had some. I think my family
- 5:21Speaker 2: has a water curse because our family home flooded. The
- 5:25Speaker 2: basement flooded when I was a kid, and it was.
- 5:27Speaker 4: I'm sorry, you just said no, and then he said, yes,
- 5:31Speaker 4: what You're home flooded.
- 5:33Speaker 2: The basement, but it was sprinklers, so it wasn't natural.
- 5:36Speaker 3: I understand.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yeah. And then when I first moved to La, I
- 5:39Speaker 2: was living with a couple in their baby and it
- 5:41Speaker 2: was a horrible situation. So over the holidays, I packed
- 5:44Speaker 2: my car up in order to move out, and then
- 5:48Speaker 2: went home to Utah for two weeks and it rained
- 5:51Speaker 2: for two weeks straight, and I got back at like
- 5:53Speaker 2: eleven thirty at night and stepped into my car and
- 5:57Speaker 2: heard a splash. My car was full of breaking, total panic.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I mean, like just an absolute breakdown.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Because it's also in the attempt to like protect yourself
- 6:07Speaker 4: and your items to.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Leave blew off my face, God heartbreaking.
- 6:12Speaker 2: And then of course the two years of funding. So
- 6:14Speaker 2: I don't know what which my parents crossed, but there's
- 6:17Speaker 2: just we could resolve that today. Yeah, maybe that's what
- 6:20Speaker 2: we do, right, get me out of the water curse.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I feel like we could do that easily.
- 6:25Speaker 2: What do we need to do to get this?
- 6:26Speaker 3: You need to find the soul lesson that your soul's
- 6:28Speaker 3: trying to learn.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Oh, interesting because it's.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Like, okay, what feeling of like?
- 6:32Speaker 4: Either because great water is actually a very loving destroyer
- 6:36Speaker 4: if you think about it. Yes, when we're talking big,
- 6:39Speaker 4: big expanded ideas, not literal because it's awful when people
- 6:42Speaker 4: lose things. But I think if I'm just pitch on it, right,
- 6:48Speaker 4: if you like, say you're pitching a more fantasy based thing,
- 6:50Speaker 4: you could say like, okay, there's purification. There's a feeling
- 6:56Speaker 4: like even when you like a benevolent sort of requirement
- 7:01Speaker 4: of it's very bum what is it called the Catholic
- 7:05Speaker 4: Biblical like I'm not a lot I should wash away
- 7:07Speaker 4: in Yes, yes, of course.
- 7:10Speaker 3: And it's like this idea of a shame paradigm.
- 7:12Speaker 2: It feels like, interesting, So I need to let go
- 7:14Speaker 2: of some sort of shame.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like the curse that you would then
- 7:18Speaker 4: be the curse breaker is the idea that there is
- 7:21Speaker 4: shame in wanting material things.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Oh interesting, what do you think? Wow? I really like this. Okay,
- 7:27Speaker 2: I have a hard time with material things in general,
- 7:30Speaker 2: are you Yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 3: The whole podcast, but gifts?
- 7:32Speaker 2: I love this? Okay, so material Maybe the podcast brought
- 7:36Speaker 2: the curse back to be healed. Yeah, maybe and complete it.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Maybe this is a whole bit, a whole journey to
- 7:43Speaker 2: get water out of my life.
- 7:45Speaker 3: I would love or like, yeah.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Learning to accept material goods and keep.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Them a little bit, because it's like it's I think,
- 7:53Speaker 4: I don't know. I think a lot of us have
- 7:56Speaker 4: the issue feeling morally wrong wanting things and homes and that.
- 8:01Speaker 2: You know, Yes, I really have a lot of that
- 8:03Speaker 2: where I'm like, I don't I never buy anything. When
- 8:07Speaker 2: I do, I usually don't buy the best.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Really, yes, yeah, because it feels indulgent. Yeah, yeah, I
- 8:13Speaker 3: hear that.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Interesting. We may have gotten to the root or something
- 8:16Speaker 2: here that could really change everything for.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Me, because here's my thing with like break and curse
- 8:20Speaker 3: or whatever. I never blame someone.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Never like if you're thinking about concepts and you're playing
- 8:24Speaker 4: with it and going that happened to you?
- 8:26Speaker 3: Because it's not that happened to you.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Because but if we can zoom out and find a
- 8:29Speaker 4: personal pattern that it can release, right party.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Rock Wow, this is Have you ever felt like you've
- 8:35Speaker 2: had a curse?
- 8:36Speaker 4: I've put plenty Yeah, any elemental.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Golly, I don't think elemental. I hope not.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Okay, I guess physical would be elemental. No, but not
- 8:49Speaker 4: earth wind fire okay.
- 8:51Speaker 2: And do you uh do you remember a point when
- 8:54Speaker 2: you were like, oh, no, this is going to curse me.
- 8:57Speaker 4: No, it'll more so be like it's like the thing
- 8:59Speaker 4: where you go to other people's houses and you're like.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Damn, we don't live normal on mine.
- 9:03Speaker 5: You know.
- 9:05Speaker 3: It's like you're like, damn, have I been living a curse? Damn?
- 9:09Speaker 3: And you're like, you guys are that's okay, that's okay.
- 9:11Speaker 3: It's more like a realization constantly.
- 9:13Speaker 2: That is a nice thing to go to another person's
- 9:15Speaker 2: house and just get ideas on how normal people live.
- 9:19Speaker 4: But then I like, for the most of my young life,
- 9:21Speaker 4: I was like, this is fake, fakers.
- 9:23Speaker 2: You're putting this on for me.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like, like tied and weird.
- 9:27Speaker 4: You need a chaotic home where like your aunt's come
- 9:29Speaker 4: in into your laundry and take it away and then
- 9:31Speaker 4: lose your volleyball jersey and the whole team's about at you.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Has there ever been something you've walked into someone's house
- 9:36Speaker 2: and you're like, I am going to implement this into
- 9:38Speaker 2: my own home.
- 9:39Speaker 4: I I like hate it. How strong my reaction was
- 9:43Speaker 4: absolutely not. I know exactly what I want my home.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I love my home. I don't know how I wanted
- 9:47Speaker 2: to work to the general vibe at your house.
- 9:49Speaker 3: I caught feminine scarface.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Okay, oh, I like that.
- 9:52Speaker 4: I really love sort of an eighties aesthetic. But also
- 9:55Speaker 4: I needed to have a cozy, plush blankets and softness
- 9:58Speaker 4: where you can nest right right, like the rain darkness.
- 10:02Speaker 4: There's no I can be in my little nest without
- 10:05Speaker 4: watching reality TV, without the pressure to go out in
- 10:07Speaker 4: the world.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Right, feminine scarface, yeah, I.
- 10:10Speaker 4: Got the I like, I have a lot of velvet
- 10:12Speaker 4: like Doberman sort of paintings.
- 10:15Speaker 3: I have a lot of Nagle Patrick nagels like the
- 10:18Speaker 3: real arts.
- 10:18Speaker 2: So there's like a little bit of a danger to it,
- 10:20Speaker 2: but in a cozy.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Way, but in a like cartoonish way.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I like that. Do you are you a Doberman fan?
- 10:27Speaker 2: Do you have pets or just like the general image
- 10:30Speaker 2: of Dover.
- 10:31Speaker 4: I have a little spirit guy named von Ya. He's
- 10:33Speaker 4: a cat and I love him so much.
- 10:34Speaker 3: What color black and white?
- 10:36Speaker 2: Oh? Very sweet? How old is he?
- 10:38Speaker 3: He's nine okay.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Got years and years ahead of him.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Yeah, he's a deva kitty too. He's a little jet setter.
- 10:45Speaker 4: He like he flies with me. He does his thing.
- 10:48Speaker 2: When he flies. I have a friend who has two cats,
- 10:52Speaker 2: and she at one point, because I guess at the
- 10:54Speaker 2: airport when you fly with them, you have to take
- 10:56Speaker 2: them out of their crate to go through security, and
- 10:58Speaker 2: she had to do that. She took them both out
- 11:00Speaker 2: and then they peed all over her. And this was
- 11:02Speaker 2: on the way, so she.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Got a journey ahead of her.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Can you imagine piss journey for total The entire plane
- 11:08Speaker 2: had a piston journey.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the truth.
- 11:11Speaker 2: What a nightmare for everybody. How is your cat flying?
- 11:15Speaker 3: He okay?
- 11:15Speaker 4: Because I've seen people like, oh, yeah, it's tough when
- 11:18Speaker 4: people don't know how to wrangle their own animal and
- 11:20Speaker 4: you do have to take him out, and then you
- 11:21Speaker 4: have to do this thing where they swipe your hands
- 11:23Speaker 4: for like the bomb residue, no matter what if you
- 11:25Speaker 4: have a pet, okay, and so then you have to
- 11:27Speaker 4: be holding your pet. And I always do like a
- 11:28Speaker 4: clamshell with my hands to get him to swipe it.
- 11:31Speaker 4: But I always wear a sweatshirt and I put Vonya
- 11:33Speaker 4: in it, and I like rock him. But because I
- 11:36Speaker 4: got him in Wisconsin and when I went back to
- 11:39Speaker 4: New York, his first flight was when he was like young.
- 11:43Speaker 2: He's very customed, so this is just kind of a
- 11:45Speaker 2: thing for him.
- 11:46Speaker 4: He's really good at it. But I will say, because
- 11:48Speaker 4: he's good, people have no boundaries and like.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Especially the older women, like, oh, it's so cute. I
- 11:52Speaker 3: start touching my cat and I'm like, hey, this sucks.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Like is he on your lap throughout the flight? No, gosh, okay.
- 11:59Speaker 4: He tucks in that little carrier you put it under
- 12:01Speaker 4: the seat. He's so quiet that I always have to
- 12:04Speaker 4: alert the person next to me. I go to see
- 12:06Speaker 4: where there is a cat underneath her.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Wow, and it is alive.
- 12:09Speaker 3: It's alive. It's alive. But I don't know. He's easy.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Cats are Yeah, he's easy, but you do. You don't
- 12:17Speaker 3: have pets to you.
- 12:18Speaker 2: We have a dog and we absolutely love her. But
- 12:22Speaker 2: anytime it rains, I remember why one big thing cats
- 12:26Speaker 2: are easier with is they don't have to go outside.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Yeah, they put booties on.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yeah she well, she's really good in the rain. She's
- 12:31Speaker 2: just a puppy. She's nine months old, and she was
- 12:35Speaker 2: surprisingly great out in the rain. It kind of didn't
- 12:37Speaker 2: bother her at all. Okay, but I think she's a
- 12:40Speaker 2: Rottweiler and I think they're used to their water dogs.
- 12:43Speaker 2: She's the best. That's amazing, wonderful little animal.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Oh wow, those are special ones.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't. I knew nothing about them until we
- 12:51Speaker 2: found her. And yeah, she's well we rescued earlier, but
- 12:55Speaker 2: still really Yeah, and once we started telling people we
- 12:59Speaker 2: have a Rottwiler, everyone has had these incredible experiences with them.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Well, because I feel like pities get the conversation forward,
- 13:05Speaker 4: then Doberman's and so don't necessarily get discussed.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Right, they're kind of lost in the mix, and they're
- 13:11Speaker 2: kind of in that same category of people think that
- 13:14Speaker 2: this is a scary animal and that's actually the sweetest creature.
- 13:16Speaker 2: You can possibly imagine. And she's so smart. She also
- 13:20Speaker 2: thinks I'm a toy. That's fine, she's basically yeah, but yeah,
- 13:28Speaker 2: the cat. You had cats at one point, and you
- 13:32Speaker 2: know they're ups and downs. The cat litter is a
- 13:34Speaker 2: tough situation.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Why is there been no.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Science community has got to just maybe put everything else
- 13:41Speaker 2: aside for a minute and just say, let's figure out
- 13:44Speaker 2: how to deal with cats toilet. It's so bizarre, it's crazy.
- 13:50Speaker 2: There haven't been bigger advancements in this.
- 13:52Speaker 4: All the pitches, all the guards, all the little to
- 13:54Speaker 4: like even just a foot cleaner, it would be a
- 13:56Speaker 4: better advancer than the actual litter itself.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Right when they're tracking the little throughout the house. That's
- 14:01Speaker 2: almost grosser than the smell or anything.
- 14:03Speaker 4: It's humiliating. Sometimes you have people over and you're like,
- 14:07Speaker 4: it's tough.
- 14:08Speaker 2: If you feel a piece of litter on your foot,
- 14:09Speaker 2: it's just like my.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Back it up, pack it up.
- 14:13Speaker 2: But I'm out take it all away from me. I
- 14:15Speaker 2: don't deserve any of this. Yeah, they've got to. I
- 14:18Speaker 2: guess you could put the litter in like an area
- 14:21Speaker 2: where there's a carpet that they have to step off
- 14:23Speaker 2: onto and wipe their feet.
- 14:25Speaker 3: But I feel I feel they know because you know
- 14:28Speaker 3: what I mean.
- 14:29Speaker 4: There is like a destructive They're like no way like
- 14:31Speaker 4: truly because I have like a carpet and then I
- 14:34Speaker 4: have like a plastic thing and then my cat. I
- 14:35Speaker 4: will watch them like fly over those. I am like
- 14:39Speaker 4: you knew, you knew? I want it like the fuck.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess. They have those automatic litter boxes that
- 14:46Speaker 2: are kind of a robot.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Those. My friend has one of those.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Those.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Those are like the worst a year.
- 14:51Speaker 4: It's like remember you see, like when you were like
- 14:53Speaker 4: in the nineties, like you'd see commercials for like robot dog.
- 14:56Speaker 4: You like, of course it's a perfectly working cool and
- 14:58Speaker 4: it's like see it's this is nothing nothing.
- 15:01Speaker 3: This can't work. This doesn't move at all, and it's that.
- 15:04Speaker 2: I imagine that it's probably also scary for the cat.
- 15:07Speaker 3: A lot of cats have issue with it.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Right because I assume it makes noise.
- 15:11Speaker 4: It's yeah, it's also like weird that it feels like
- 15:14Speaker 4: it's moving. They can understand it's moving in some sort
- 15:17Speaker 4: of rhythm with them, but the pattern might not be
- 15:19Speaker 4: necessarily direct because of the timing.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Right.
- 15:22Speaker 3: I don't love it.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I wonder if big litter. All of the cat litter
- 15:26Speaker 2: corporations are like, we cannot let this problem be solved.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Okay, well if I'm so good at your standing this,
- 15:32Speaker 4: because imagine big litter is also based in like big concrete,
- 15:35Speaker 4: which is based in big construction.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Wow, it's not going here.
- 15:37Speaker 3: We could go a lot of places.
- 15:38Speaker 2: This goes so far, because.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Then who's big crystal though? You know what I mean?
- 15:44Speaker 2: They all have so much writing on this. Yeah, I
- 15:47Speaker 2: would say the same level as big oil and not know.
- 15:50Speaker 3: But if we uncovered something we.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Have there, there will never be a solution to cat litter.
- 15:55Speaker 2: People have probably been killed.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Because there would be you know what I mean, like
- 15:58Speaker 3: if there wasn't something against.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Of course, billions of dollars are being poured into cat
- 16:03Speaker 2: litter every year.
- 16:04Speaker 3: We're getting a season desas tomorrow.
- 16:06Speaker 2: We both died as seriously drowned up.
- 16:11Speaker 3: What is our soul trying to learn?
- 16:13Speaker 2: I think I think that there's something happening.
- 16:15Speaker 3: I don't. I don't disagree.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Pharma similar thing. They don't want all diseases cured.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Same Yeah, I said, same, you have something that your stocking.
- 16:24Speaker 3: They were the same, but they just givet the same.
- 16:28Speaker 3: I don't want them.
- 16:29Speaker 2: You're setting in the way of a lot of cures.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Sam, I don't want them to make so much money
- 16:34Speaker 3: off that ship.
- 16:35Speaker 2: You have a lot of stocks in litter and dead.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Oh what a shame at all, I know, but it
- 16:43Speaker 2: gives us challenges and things to work.
- 16:46Speaker 3: So we're all just tinkering on our little rocks all.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Day, you know what I mean? Right, And then someday
- 16:51Speaker 2: you'll miss the litter on your feet. Oh don't whoa,
- 16:54Speaker 2: I'm sorry, my god, I'm sorry. It's something we all
- 16:56Speaker 2: have to brutal. It's something we all have to.
- 16:59Speaker 4: One day miss the litter on your feet. That was like,
- 17:01Speaker 4: that was Luther Van Dross level. That was crazy. One
- 17:04Speaker 4: day I'll dance with my father again as well. I
- 17:06Speaker 4: cannot believe that. Oh you said that it was a pivot,
- 17:10Speaker 4: like you were closing that thought, and then you just
- 17:12Speaker 4: dropped the most emotional, devastating.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Oh, somebody needs to write a piece of beautiful music.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Someday you'll miss the litter on your feet. R and B. Yeah,
- 17:21Speaker 2: beautiful R and B. Hit Oh well, speaking of difficult topics. Absolutely, Look,
- 17:31Speaker 2: I was looking forward to having you here on the
- 17:33Speaker 2: podcast today that I thought, oh, come bye, we'll have
- 17:36Speaker 2: a nice conversation and then we'll move on. So I
- 17:40Speaker 2: was a little surprised the podcast. Look, the podcast is
- 17:43Speaker 2: called I said, no gifts, and you're you know, you're
- 17:47Speaker 2: an intelligent person. Sometimes you can read emails. You're really
- 17:52Speaker 2: backing away. I feel like you're really building up a
- 17:54Speaker 2: case for yourself. So I assumed you'd be able to
- 17:58Speaker 2: follow the rule of don't bring a gift. So I, uh,
- 18:01Speaker 2: you know, and I've had a very hard morning already,
- 18:04Speaker 2: maybe the hardest morning anyone's ever had, could be. I'm
- 18:08Speaker 2: struggling through life, and so it was a little difficult
- 18:11Speaker 2: to see yet another challenge. You showed up with the gifts.
- 18:14Speaker 2: I did, well, it's in this beautiful tube.
- 18:19Speaker 4: Well I'm actually shocked, though, because you're sitting here and
- 18:20Speaker 4: going can't believe It's like this has been contentious the
- 18:22Speaker 4: whole time. I talked about wanting people to die and
- 18:24Speaker 4: not wanting cures, you know what I mean, Like, it's like,
- 18:26Speaker 4: how are you shocked by this?
- 18:28Speaker 2: Of course the biggest shock of all sort of what
- 18:31Speaker 2: is it?
- 18:31Speaker 3: Antagonism? Of course it gave it antagonizing.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Of course you're an antagonist.
- 18:35Speaker 3: That's a charm of this relationship. That's sort of like
- 18:39Speaker 3: I told you not that I specifically asked you do not.
- 18:41Speaker 2: To do that.
- 18:41Speaker 4: And that's that's what giving it. That's why people want
- 18:43Speaker 4: us to win when we're watching this film.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Right, they want me to overcome me your villainy.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:51Speaker 2: So now we're going to see you know, I'm on
- 18:53Speaker 2: my journey here.
- 18:54Speaker 3: I love that.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Will I make it to the end of the podcast,
- 18:56Speaker 2: and part of that is opening this gift right now.
- 19:01Speaker 2: So I'm going to I'm going to slide this out
- 19:03Speaker 2: of it's in a poster tube and it's so far
- 19:06Speaker 2: feeling poster. Ask but we don't know. We can't make
- 19:08Speaker 2: any assumptions. We'll put this here. It's like a big cigarette.
- 19:12Speaker 4: Now that's fine, it is, Oh my god, that's so
- 19:16Speaker 4: fine if you like, start with a small one and
- 19:18Speaker 4: the builds to that.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Okay, now this is seems to be a poster and
- 19:23Speaker 2: I'm here you pull can we should oh? Multiple posters? Okay? Wow? Okay,
- 19:28Speaker 2: So this first one is this gorgeous kind of photo
- 19:31Speaker 2: of some uh what do we call those islets? Small
- 19:35Speaker 2: islands in the ocean, you know, the big rocky ones,
- 19:39Speaker 2: the ocean. Obstacles are what you see when you take
- 19:42Speaker 2: your eyes off the goal.
- 19:43Speaker 3: That's so true, so true.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Okay, should I should we look at all and then
- 19:50Speaker 2: I can discuss. Okay, I'm excited. Okay, now this is
- 19:54Speaker 2: a bigger.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Hey, we're only three working.
- 19:59Speaker 2: We'll get this one first. Okay, now you pull you
- 20:02Speaker 2: hold that in. We're opening, opening, opening. Another poster that says,
- 20:06Speaker 2: and now it's a kind of a beautiful field. Is
- 20:08Speaker 2: that wheat sweet with the beautiful sun behind it? And
- 20:11Speaker 2: it says a sunset is a sunrise on the other
- 20:14Speaker 2: side of the world.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Wow.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Now if you think about that for a minute, don't
- 20:20Speaker 2: He'll spin out. Okay, now, let's I think this is
- 20:24Speaker 2: the final one. It is and you pull that in
- 20:27Speaker 2: and I'm already singing a hang glider So we love
- 20:30Speaker 2: hang glider in front of a sunset. And the what
- 20:32Speaker 2: we're learning here is just reach for the sky.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Absolutely yeah.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:36Speaker 4: But if you think about that, think about that part,
- 20:38Speaker 4: there's one second, your whole i mean, your whole life
- 20:42Speaker 4: plan falls apart.
- 20:44Speaker 2: These are achievement theme posters. Tell me, uh wow, reach
- 20:49Speaker 2: for the sky, and it also says it in several
- 20:50Speaker 2: languages on the back, but if you want to see
- 20:54Speaker 2: in a different language, you have to frame it on
- 20:56Speaker 2: the opposite side, and there's no picture.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's sort of like a late text paper.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Yeah, why did you bring these gorgeous?
- 21:02Speaker 3: I was so excited.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Statements Okay, one I picked them up. There have a
- 21:07Speaker 4: theme of color tones because it.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Fell all very sunset, very golden.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Very golden. I have maybe like fifty of those.
- 21:14Speaker 4: And my favorite part is so my great aunt was
- 21:17Speaker 4: a principal and in the Eli school, just kind of teacher,
- 21:22Speaker 4: and when she passed away, I had to go through
- 21:25Speaker 4: dumb like storage and clean out stuff.
- 21:28Speaker 3: And she had so many like school supplies.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Right right, Oh, so many school supplies.
- 21:33Speaker 4: And part of me was like, well, these are dumb
- 21:36Speaker 4: and fun and maybe I'll make art. But I was like,
- 21:38Speaker 4: I have to save these because they're from the original.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Like it's like people will know them from like their
- 21:43Speaker 4: grade school or like hanging there. Like they're so dumb.
- 21:47Speaker 4: They're so dumb that they become profound. And you look
- 21:50Speaker 4: at these and you're like a sunset on Oh, maybe
- 21:53Speaker 4: I'm not alone in the world. Like it's like you
- 21:55Speaker 4: go too quick and like some of the other posters
- 21:57Speaker 4: I specifically didn't bring because it's like they're so ugly,
- 22:01Speaker 4: like it'll be someone like make it across the finish line,
- 22:04Speaker 4: and it's like a sort of eighties woman wearing Sophie
- 22:06Speaker 4: shorts pulled two tight, so there's a very suggressive camel
- 22:10Speaker 4: toee and then like and like she looks pretty upset.
- 22:13Speaker 3: And then another one is like just like the road.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Ahead, and then it's just like some guy's ass like
- 22:18Speaker 4: kind of jogging on along the forest Gump road.
- 22:20Speaker 3: And they're not good and right, but it's heaven of.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Course, what a find because they're the genuine you know,
- 22:26Speaker 2: these haven't been like created by some ironic online company, and.
- 22:30Speaker 3: You can feel from the paper that they're.
- 22:32Speaker 2: From that vinyl. Yes, yeah, I mean this is a
- 22:34Speaker 2: real Uh, this will last for ages.
- 22:36Speaker 4: They look brand they were from No, yeah, I know
- 22:39Speaker 4: it's lost it. I think she probably got these seventy eighties.
- 22:41Speaker 2: And she apparently never hung these up herself.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Well maybe somewhere in the classroom, who.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Knows, Okay, but they seem so brand new.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I know.
- 22:49Speaker 2: It feels like maybe she was more of a you know,
- 22:51Speaker 2: she was discouraging everyone.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Probably, Yeah, it could be could that if you're you're
- 22:56Speaker 4: taking good data that I was out taking.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Yeah, she may have and just kind of terrorizing.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Yes, she was protecting this. Its like Pandora's Box and
- 23:04Speaker 3: finding these inspirations.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Anyone finds out about sunsets and sunrises. I'm finished, but
- 23:10Speaker 2: I have a question though.
- 23:11Speaker 4: I am what I call Amelia Viadelia brained, which is
- 23:14Speaker 4: just literal processor of course. And so what's so funny
- 23:17Speaker 4: is that when something is like super dumb and like
- 23:21Speaker 4: just like a platitude, my brain takes it literally and
- 23:24Speaker 4: I take it to me the most profound, like truly,
- 23:27Speaker 4: and I'm like, ah, that's amazing, and someone will be
- 23:29Speaker 4: like no, it just says like stop walkway, and like
- 23:31Speaker 4: but stop walkway, you know what I mean, or something
- 23:34Speaker 4: like that.
- 23:34Speaker 2: I think the thing with platitudes, though, is that they
- 23:37Speaker 2: are so universally felt and experienced that they become trite.
- 23:42Speaker 2: But it's like they are powerful things most of the time,
- 23:45Speaker 2: but they're things that you just have thought about and
- 23:47Speaker 2: heard so much because they're universally.
- 23:50Speaker 4: I'm here with you on the like the sort of
- 23:53Speaker 4: dowdea ching the way, like back and forth. The most
- 23:56Speaker 4: profound is the simplest truth. But I'm thinking more like live, laugh, love,
- 24:01Speaker 4: you know what I mean.
- 24:01Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know. We gotta live, we gotta live,
- 24:07Speaker 2: and we gotta most of all, if you're not loving,
- 24:11Speaker 2: you're not laughing or living. Yeah, So there you go.
- 24:15Speaker 3: I biff that one hard. I if that hard. It's
- 24:18Speaker 3: wine o'clock about that one.
- 24:20Speaker 2: It's always win wine o'clock. That's a tough one. It's
- 24:26Speaker 2: a tough one to get.
- 24:27Speaker 3: It's just a TJA backsplaque.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and you can't hang that in an elementary school.
- 24:31Speaker 4: Well, you always have like those teachers in their office
- 24:36Speaker 4: where you be like, can't wait till the weekend.
- 24:38Speaker 2: You're like, what is your you don't like your job,
- 24:40Speaker 2: you don't like being with us.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Students, a guidance counselor.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Did you ever run into a teacher like out in
- 24:47Speaker 2: the wild at the grocery store or anything, have have
- 24:50Speaker 2: that uncanny experience.
- 24:52Speaker 4: Well, because girls came out when I was in the
- 24:54Speaker 4: seventh grade and introduced the concept to us, pretty well.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Oh interesting, that kind of ruins it.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Ruined for me, to be honest, So not really.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember I think I was probably in fourth
- 25:04Speaker 2: grade when that happened, and it just threw everything I.
- 25:07Speaker 4: Did because then you like know the thing, expect the things,
- 25:10Speaker 4: and then when it's happening, if you're hyper away or
- 25:11Speaker 4: you're like meta, and you're.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Like, is it this weird or good?
- 25:14Speaker 3: Hi?
- 25:16Speaker 2: Yeah, in your brain there's almost like school is almost
- 25:18Speaker 2: a West World style thing where they're all trapped in there,
- 25:22Speaker 2: and then you see them sad shopping for eggs and
- 25:24Speaker 2: you're like, oh.
- 25:25Speaker 4: I have I just don't even think I did, really,
- 25:29Speaker 4: did you?
- 25:30Speaker 2: Yeah? At least once once or twice I would run
- 25:33Speaker 2: into a teacher. Though I was an excellent student.
- 25:37Speaker 3: I'm sorry. It was so sharp and incredible.
- 25:42Speaker 4: I just heard the last bitch after that, I was
- 25:44Speaker 4: an excellent student.
- 25:50Speaker 3: I love that.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I think I was probably a decent student.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Okay.
- 25:53Speaker 2: I wasn't the one that was like keeping everyone from
- 25:56Speaker 2: enjoying recess, you know when someone's like screaming and then everyone's.
- 25:59Speaker 3: But your inner standards were.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I kept it together, okay, but I had a
- 26:04Speaker 2: little fun. So again, what does that look like? Do
- 26:08Speaker 2: tell what was having fun in the classroom look like.
- 26:12Speaker 2: That's a great question.
- 26:14Speaker 4: I facilitated the passing of a note for someone else
- 26:16Speaker 4: before the man.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I wasn't creating the notes or reading them. I
- 26:21Speaker 2: was a loser.
- 26:23Speaker 3: It I love them.
- 26:24Speaker 2: How were you as a.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Student, Oh, it's a mixed bag. I was a really
- 26:29Speaker 3: good bullshitter.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:32Speaker 3: I think I was a charming student. I was a
- 26:34Speaker 3: very smart kid.
- 26:35Speaker 4: But I didn't realize I had so many like different
- 26:37Speaker 4: learning disabilities right right, that I was like cheating just
- 26:41Speaker 4: to get something down. But the work I was doing
- 26:42Speaker 4: to cheating was way more work than anyone else was doing,
- 26:45Speaker 4: you know, right, And so I would I would like
- 26:47Speaker 4: wine and dine. I'd be like, if I buy you
- 26:49Speaker 4: the Starbucks, will you get rid of my absences?
- 26:52Speaker 3: Or something like. I was really like.
- 26:54Speaker 2: You were using real adult skills.
- 26:56Speaker 4: Because I'd also gone to a special school, which is
- 26:58Speaker 4: so wild for like kids with high IQ's when I
- 27:01Speaker 4: was younger, Okay, and then they like drill into you
- 27:04Speaker 4: like kind of this education that was wonderful but not
- 27:06Speaker 4: applicable to then public high school.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Interesting, right, So you get to.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Public high school and you're like, I'm like, it's like
- 27:13Speaker 4: it was I didn't I faked a lot.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Did you feel alienated?
- 27:17Speaker 3: No, it's pretty popular.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Okay, So you were able to you know, mix the
- 27:21Speaker 2: high IQ school.
- 27:23Speaker 4: I was popular, which is it feels psychotic to say,
- 27:25Speaker 4: because it's like what a metric, you.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Know, like you're like, what does that mean?
- 27:29Speaker 2: Now?
- 27:30Speaker 4: They did what they would test you in, and I
- 27:32Speaker 4: think by way of that they chose its felt Montessori esque,
- 27:35Speaker 4: where like the the way they education style was more
- 27:39Speaker 4: you just learned about different things and it was all
- 27:41Speaker 4: those subjects were integrated.
- 27:42Speaker 2: And oh interesting.
- 27:44Speaker 4: I liked it, But I don't think the there should
- 27:47Speaker 4: be a bury for entry in that way.
- 27:48Speaker 2: This went all the way up to ninth grade, that
- 27:50Speaker 2: went to eighth grade, eighth grade, and then they just
- 27:52Speaker 2: throw you back into the stream.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Are you back in the stream?
- 27:55Speaker 4: But I was also an athlete, so I think I
- 27:57Speaker 4: got that grandfathered into like not having to really figure
- 28:01Speaker 4: a lot out.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Right, Mo, that's at all you better know that was
- 28:05Speaker 2: a very good student. I was a very good student excellence.
- 28:12Speaker 3: I can't stress.
- 28:13Speaker 4: Also, though I was like my school was like the
- 28:16Speaker 4: popular were like the like kids who because I grew
- 28:19Speaker 4: up in Madison, so it was like kids who were
- 28:20Speaker 4: active involved in the political community, like the cool kids
- 28:23Speaker 4: were not the stereotypical.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Oh interesting, It was kind of a bizarro world. It
- 28:27Speaker 2: wasn't like the cheerleaders and football players. No, by no
- 28:30Speaker 2: means they were looked down upon.
- 28:33Speaker 3: They were certainly not celebrated.
- 28:34Speaker 4: Okay, So that's what I mean by popular, because it
- 28:37Speaker 4: was like a space where it was like, obviously there
- 28:39Speaker 4: was hierarchies, but it was slightly more.
- 28:43Speaker 3: I guess inclusive.
- 28:44Speaker 4: So if not, I want, I don't want to go
- 28:48Speaker 4: aggressive and it's inclusivity because it was sure very many ways.
- 28:52Speaker 3: But I think it was more diversified. And it's cheerleader the.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Right, right, And what athletics were you in?
- 29:00Speaker 3: Volleyball?
- 29:01Speaker 2: Volleyball? Yeah, that's that's the one I'm most scared of. Really,
- 29:04Speaker 2: Why terrified of volleyball? There's something about that ball flying
- 29:08Speaker 2: at you that I'm just running out of. I don't
- 29:11Speaker 2: want it coming near me.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Did you play? Did you try?
- 29:14Speaker 1: Like well?
- 29:14Speaker 2: In gim we were required to play it, sure, and
- 29:17Speaker 2: I don't think I've ever successfully gotten a volleyball over
- 29:19Speaker 2: the net.
- 29:22Speaker 3: It's I don't know it. I think they teach it wrong,
- 29:25Speaker 3: especially in jim.
- 29:26Speaker 2: How are they teaching it wrong?
- 29:27Speaker 3: Because also like you're playing with other people who are
- 29:30Speaker 3: doing it.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Just to hit it hard or just interesting.
- 29:33Speaker 4: Right, you're not really getting a chance because do you
- 29:34Speaker 4: play other sports at all?
- 29:36Speaker 2: Simply no, badminton, badmint.
- 29:38Speaker 4: So the origin of volleyball is tennis and badminton, like,
- 29:42Speaker 4: oh volume, right.
- 29:44Speaker 2: And there's the net.
- 29:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:46Speaker 2: It feels like the volleyball should have been the first thing,
- 29:48Speaker 2: and then tennis and badmint are a refined version of it.
- 29:52Speaker 3: I my agree.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Do you think it's like technology getting smaller?
- 29:55Speaker 3: We had a ball, just a ball, but tools.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Right, we're bringing tools in first that we're putting the
- 30:00Speaker 2: little feathers on.
- 30:02Speaker 3: See.
- 30:02Speaker 4: I what I loved is that when you said I
- 30:04Speaker 4: do not play sports, it gave the like I don't
- 30:06Speaker 4: at all, and then it's pivoted to like I only
- 30:09Speaker 4: play a wealthy sport, you know, like bad you know
- 30:10Speaker 4: what I mean. I thought it was gonna be like
- 30:11Speaker 4: I don't like to move like that, but it was
- 30:13Speaker 4: no poor you know, no gay yes, yes, yes, badminton.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Let's be honest, it's in a pretty solid gay camp.
- 30:23Speaker 2: No it's not.
- 30:23Speaker 3: It's so wealthy.
- 30:25Speaker 4: It's like imagine like you're going like going to Holly,
- 30:29Speaker 4: say what sport?
- 30:30Speaker 3: Everybody? What sport? There's so many other sports would name before.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Bad badminton is so gay? Are you kidding me?
- 30:37Speaker 4: This is a caricature of an eighties dad villain who
- 30:40Speaker 4: is gay, but is the dad you know what I mean?
- 30:43Speaker 2: Like he's in the gym with the racket the thing,
- 30:47Speaker 2: you knowall racketball. Now that's intense, you know, that's like,
- 30:51Speaker 2: that's very Wall Street energy.
- 30:53Speaker 3: You and your I don't you think badminton is the
- 30:56Speaker 3: gay sport?
- 30:57Speaker 2: Oh my god? You think? I mean, it's certainly not straight.
- 31:00Speaker 2: I can see it being people aren't straight.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Here's at.
- 31:05Speaker 4: And that's equality because gay people can be evil. Anything
- 31:08Speaker 4: that's good that we have should be evil.
- 31:10Speaker 2: A lot of evil gay people. Some of the worst,
- 31:14Speaker 2: the worst people alive.
- 31:15Speaker 4: Are gay that we have to take away to be
- 31:21Speaker 4: of course, naturally.
- 31:22Speaker 2: This is get rid of all of us.
- 31:25Speaker 3: This is why I don't believe in big for curing
- 31:27Speaker 3: all diseases.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Yes, exactly, Now badminton. My introduction to badminton was public
- 31:35Speaker 2: high school.
- 31:36Speaker 3: We had we had a we had a unit.
- 31:38Speaker 2: It was just so nice. Whereas like, this thing isn't
- 31:40Speaker 2: gonna hurt me. It flats in the air.
- 31:43Speaker 3: Yeah, but were you competitive in it? O?
- 31:46Speaker 2: But I at least was able to, you know, participate.
- 31:49Speaker 3: It's interesting. I act genuinely.
- 31:51Speaker 4: I know we're being somewhat facetious, but I'm genuinely interested
- 31:53Speaker 4: because I think it is such a high focus sport.
- 31:56Speaker 4: Interesting because it's like it's actually with the you have
- 32:01Speaker 4: to go with the wind patterns, you have to go
- 32:03Speaker 4: with the right hit the style. You have to like
- 32:05Speaker 4: hit it the spright speed and then slow the speed,
- 32:07Speaker 4: so there's such attention required.
- 32:10Speaker 3: I loved it.
- 32:10Speaker 4: That's why I also love volleyball, because it's play over
- 32:14Speaker 4: play over. Play is not long term.
- 32:17Speaker 2: But I feel like right now you're considering badminton from
- 32:20Speaker 2: the viewpoint of someone that's good at it. Yeah. Absolutely,
- 32:23Speaker 2: and you're talking to someone I'm very good. Two experts,
- 32:28Speaker 2: one podcast. I mean, this is what a bargain for everybody.
- 32:32Speaker 3: Believe it.
- 32:33Speaker 2: The listener is going, wow, I really.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Hitn't listener saving so much money they could play badminton?
- 32:40Speaker 2: No, I mean I haven't played. You don't really get
- 32:42Speaker 2: opportunities to play badminton. I guess I need to make
- 32:44Speaker 2: more rich friends.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Not no, because nobody else is really facilitating. But pickleball
- 32:49Speaker 4: became in vogue a little.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Bit right which I don't. Again, the ball is hard
- 32:52Speaker 2: at all, but it's adjacent to this, right, you know,
- 32:56Speaker 2: I need it to be light, I need it to
- 32:57Speaker 2: be frothy.
- 32:59Speaker 4: It's it's sucks that you can't passively do stuff because
- 33:01Speaker 4: then all the rise you have to become the guy
- 33:03Speaker 4: who plays badminton right to get a single game in?
- 33:05Speaker 1: Right?
- 33:06Speaker 4: Can you imagine I would actually come over here, new friend,
- 33:09Speaker 4: and go, hey, we got to talk about this.
- 33:11Speaker 3: This is weird, this is tough.
- 33:13Speaker 2: You have a career, you're raid.
- 33:16Speaker 3: I we can play just like. We don't need to
- 33:18Speaker 3: make it this big.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Part of your personality and build. I would love to
- 33:22Speaker 2: have more opportunities to play badminton and to be on
- 33:24Speaker 2: a boat, and I don't have any of them.
- 33:26Speaker 3: Yeah, which makes me.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Think I've just got to cut out off my current
- 33:29Speaker 2: friends and start going to balls and gallas.
- 33:33Speaker 4: I like the idea of you co opting the language
- 33:36Speaker 4: of like the people who are like I'm in a
- 33:37Speaker 4: spiritual awakening. I had to cut off on my friends.
- 33:39Speaker 4: I had to stuck in the balls gallas.
- 33:44Speaker 2: I needed to enter a new tax bracket.
- 33:47Speaker 4: I had to go into the sagmentum raining a little
- 33:49Speaker 4: bit stunning, and it's not quite where we are.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it's so romantic.
- 33:53Speaker 4: Sorry, this is where I'm dumb as rocks. I said,
- 33:56Speaker 4: it's not quite where we are. I'm under a roof.
- 33:59Speaker 4: We are, but I'm under a roof. But he said,
- 34:01Speaker 4: not quite to us, not quite to us yet, but
- 34:04Speaker 4: it could.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Get to us, who knows. I love these posters. This
- 34:12Speaker 2: one with the hang glider reminds me there was a
- 34:14Speaker 2: guy that was famous in Utah who ran a computer
- 34:17Speaker 2: repair or computer business. Who was his name? I think
- 34:20Speaker 2: it was Dale, Crazy Dale or something super Day No Superdale,
- 34:25Speaker 2: super Dale. I think the super Dave was so funny,
- 34:28Speaker 2: but I believe at some point was arrested with his
- 34:30Speaker 2: hang glider and a gun. It was so I wonder
- 34:37Speaker 2: what he's up to now, Superdale. I bet you he
- 34:40Speaker 2: has super deal on. At least that's a very computer
- 34:43Speaker 2: but not del How embarrassing for him?
- 34:45Speaker 3: Are you joking?
- 34:46Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 34:46Speaker 3: Like farmer in the dell?
- 34:48Speaker 2: How did we spell? Look at this guy?
- 34:51Speaker 4: Listeners, I want you to know it's giving like his
- 34:54Speaker 4: mouth is a black hole.
- 34:55Speaker 2: He's got bleach tips.
- 34:57Speaker 4: He's like you forget that they can actually be worn actually,
- 35:01Speaker 4: like naturally bright blonde with blue eyes and he's given like, I'm.
- 35:06Speaker 2: The party DJ. Is that his mugshot has to be right?
- 35:11Speaker 2: What's the news story there? Is it? Like? Because I
- 35:13Speaker 2: think he had a gun at some point and he
- 35:15Speaker 2: was hang gliding.
- 35:16Speaker 3: This is so funny he was this is a made.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Yeah, super Dell. How embarrassing to be in the computer
- 35:22Speaker 2: business and not be Dell. Yeah, stranger name.
- 35:25Speaker 4: That's tough, super but maybe that's why he said I'm
- 35:28Speaker 4: super Yeah.
- 35:28Speaker 2: All right, he threw the superin, but that is only
- 35:31Speaker 2: making things harder.
- 35:32Speaker 3: But this is actually very interesting me.
- 35:33Speaker 4: So was he famous as this guy that fixed me
- 35:36Speaker 4: before the gun and the hang glider?
- 35:38Speaker 2: Yes, he had a bunch of like annoying local commercials.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Oh, I totally understand, and.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Became very famous through those, and then I think the
- 35:43Speaker 2: hang glider came.
- 35:45Speaker 5: I'm sorry, there's so much to this, like you have
- 35:49Speaker 5: to know. Okay, So this was just, you know, for
- 35:51Speaker 5: credit's sake. This was posting the Salt Lake Tribune, of course,
- 35:54Speaker 5: August of twenty seventeen. So the seventeen Yeah, the former
- 35:57Speaker 5: Super Dell of local television commercial famous now for chasing
- 36:00Speaker 5: federal misdemeanor criminal charges for allegedly chasing and harassing an owl,
- 36:06Speaker 5: an episode that apparently showed up on YouTube.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Is he chasing the owl on his hang glider.
- 36:14Speaker 3: Is a different misdemeanor.
- 36:15Speaker 5: Videos posted on YouTube last year showed a paraglider pilot
- 36:18Speaker 5: chasing and kicking an owl. It did not show the
- 36:22Speaker 5: pilot's face, but was removed from YouTube after it went
- 36:24Speaker 5: because of a copy red plane.
- 36:26Speaker 3: They're both flying, right.
- 36:28Speaker 2: We're gonna get sued by superte.
- 36:29Speaker 5: Oh my god, imagine that we're just reporting this is
- 36:32Speaker 5: we're just we're reading from a.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Litter and he's actually an agent to silence us.
- 36:38Speaker 2: I wonder if he's in prison now, Wow, chasing an owl?
- 36:43Speaker 4: I know sometimes people's language in reporting is so psychotic
- 36:46Speaker 4: because you got which came first?
- 36:47Speaker 2: Though?
- 36:48Speaker 3: Was he flying and the owl and he's like this?
- 36:52Speaker 2: Or was he jealous? I didn't have to have a
- 37:00Speaker 2: machine that she could fly? What did you think he wants?
- 37:08Speaker 2: The figure of an owl swivels?
- 37:10Speaker 4: I love that those hips, Mama, big mama, when you're
- 37:13Speaker 4: all the bus No first.
- 37:17Speaker 2: It seems like the owl one out in the end.
- 37:19Speaker 2: Good for the owl?
- 37:20Speaker 3: We don't know that.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Well, we've got a root for the owl in the
- 37:24Speaker 2: situation gun. I think the gun may have been a
- 37:28Speaker 2: separate incident.
- 37:29Speaker 4: But it's so elmer fud, like I've gotta get a owl.
- 37:34Speaker 3: You ask owl, literally, at what point could you hunt it?
- 37:38Speaker 3: And owl's mid flight? You just go to a tree?
- 37:41Speaker 2: Then, right, you don't need to meet them in the air.
- 37:44Speaker 2: They're going to win. The gun things a separate incident.
- 37:47Speaker 2: This is someone whose life is totally in control.
- 37:50Speaker 3: I love that.
- 37:50Speaker 2: I'm sure his family is intact and everything's normal with
- 37:53Speaker 2: super Dell. I think we tried to go to his
- 37:55Speaker 2: house as kids or it's like teens. I think we
- 37:57Speaker 2: tried to drive by his house.
- 37:59Speaker 3: How do it feel?
- 38:00Speaker 2: Felt incredible, but we didn't get to meet him or anything.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Did you feel like you were like weird? Like it
- 38:04Speaker 3: was scary.
- 38:05Speaker 2: If you're putting yourself in a local commercial, you're opening
- 38:08Speaker 2: yourself to a lot of experience.
- 38:10Speaker 3: I hear that you're asking for it.
- 38:12Speaker 2: What you're saying, you're absolutely asking.
- 38:14Speaker 4: Okay, so you're on the record is saying one gay
- 38:16Speaker 4: people are bad and you're asking for it.
- 38:19Speaker 2: On the side of the perpetrator. This podcast is very pro.
- 38:24Speaker 3: Important messages today. We're pro owl crime.
- 38:29Speaker 2: If someone is on your television, you are allowed to
- 38:32Speaker 2: do whatever you want with them.
- 38:33Speaker 3: That's content to kill them.
- 38:38Speaker 2: The school is ringing its bell trying to drown out
- 38:41Speaker 2: everything I'm saying right now. Well, Super Dell, reach out.
- 38:47Speaker 2: You could get a book him to them.
- 38:48Speaker 3: It seems like the type that would be on this poster.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Do you know what I mean?
- 38:51Speaker 2: Oh, complete, this may be him.
- 38:53Speaker 3: It feels like that. Oh my god, imagine.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Who knows we're going to have an episode that starts
- 38:58Speaker 2: with this is a call from the Utah State uh
- 39:00Speaker 2: Correctional Facility.
- 39:01Speaker 3: This is like like Cereal where it's like.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Finding Dell, or like yeah, going to Dell.
- 39:09Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, this Delta.
- 39:13Speaker 2: No wait, super my life is a living Dell.
- 39:17Speaker 3: Oh that's really good.
- 39:18Speaker 4: I'm thinking about like del into another word like Dell delightful.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Delightful, the Dell.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Lights of a murderer.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Deal with the Delvile.
- 39:31Speaker 3: Oh my god, it's really good. That one's that one's
- 39:33Speaker 3: really good.
- 39:34Speaker 4: Dell with the Devil, with the del If you go,
- 39:38Speaker 4: why twice, del with the Devil.
- 39:40Speaker 2: It's just incomprehensible. I love that totally.
- 39:43Speaker 3: It makes me so happy.
- 39:45Speaker 2: This is uh, it's get in touch with exactly right,
- 39:48Speaker 2: the network can get the wheels rolling on my new
- 39:50Speaker 2: podcast today or what for?
- 39:52Speaker 3: But this, yes, this is.
- 39:55Speaker 2: The true crime people are begging for.
- 39:57Speaker 3: If they didn't even know it was hanging in their.
- 39:58Speaker 4: Rooms staring at them the whole time.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Well, it was in your aunts storage shit.
- 40:04Speaker 3: A little bit maybe maybe protected, and I opened.
- 40:08Speaker 2: You've opened a door that we have to go through
- 40:10Speaker 2: at this point.
- 40:11Speaker 4: What I like about this feeling right now is that
- 40:12Speaker 4: I kind of don't have to go through. It's kind
- 40:14Speaker 4: of like I'm like, I'm Bilbo, I'm in a Ryvendale
- 40:17Speaker 4: and I'm going go on your journey, go to more.
- 40:21Speaker 2: I'm good, you're going. Bilbo had a pretty good deal.
- 40:25Speaker 2: He had the best deal. He had all of the
- 40:27Speaker 2: fun and they got to retire in the elf world.
- 40:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Ringdale, Yes, Ringdale is the funniest thing you've ever.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Said, Ringdal, Ring riven Pale, riven.
- 40:38Speaker 4: Bridge, which I always couldfuse Riverdale. I always say Rivendale, Wow,
- 40:42Speaker 4: But calling it Ringdale, like it's like where you sell
- 40:44Speaker 4: rings is so funny.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Yes, but the deal, yeah, sorry, I got excited for that.
- 40:51Speaker 2: This is I mean, now we're picturing super Dell with
- 40:54Speaker 2: Elvin heres he's speaking Elvin.
- 40:56Speaker 3: He could give it l rond Are you howl? Do
- 40:58Speaker 3: you like fantasy at all?
- 40:59Speaker 2: I'm not super into it?
- 41:01Speaker 3: Okay? Is there a number one for you? Like a
- 41:03Speaker 3: franchise of Not really?
- 41:05Speaker 2: No? You know I love the Lord of the Rings movies. Yeah,
- 41:08Speaker 2: I like the books, but beyond that, I'm not super hardcore.
- 41:12Speaker 2: I think I could get into it. I'm always looking
- 41:13Speaker 2: as an adult, especially like I need a book that
- 41:15Speaker 2: will just totally take over my life. Are you a
- 41:18Speaker 2: fantasy person?
- 41:19Speaker 4: Ah, I'm not written large like I'm not. If there's
- 41:23Speaker 4: a fantasy thing, I'm not gonna love it. I have
- 41:24Speaker 4: the nostalgia for like the things that I like. I
- 41:27Speaker 4: love Doctor Who, I love Lord of the Rings. I
- 41:29Speaker 4: was a big Harry Potter kid. I like love the
- 41:31Speaker 4: fantasy's space that I grew up with. Right, But I
- 41:35Speaker 4: don't think I'm necessarily like gonna be e psyched for anything.
- 41:38Speaker 2: It's hard to buy into a new fantasy world as
- 41:40Speaker 2: an adult.
- 41:41Speaker 3: I think because you're also just like, oh, they're the
- 41:42Speaker 3: same themes over and over again.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Right exactly. And I've already imagined most of these things.
- 41:47Speaker 3: And the language is already in me to use it
- 41:49Speaker 3: to this, right.
- 41:50Speaker 2: I read most of the I've read actually all of
- 41:52Speaker 2: the Game of Thrones books.
- 41:54Speaker 3: You know, did you read pre the show coming on?
- 41:56Speaker 2: During the show? Okay, And my big plaint with Game
- 42:00Speaker 2: of Thrones has always been, let's throw in another creature.
- 42:03Speaker 2: You know, it's dragons, show up. It's a little boring.
- 42:10Speaker 4: That's a really good critique, just because you're you're at
- 42:13Speaker 4: the threshold of fas like you're just why not throw another.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Come on, there's got to be something else. It's wild
- 42:19Speaker 2: to look at.
- 42:19Speaker 3: That's an interesting Is.
- 42:21Speaker 2: There any other other than the the the White Walkers?
- 42:25Speaker 2: But those are kind of zombie going in a certain ways, right,
- 42:28Speaker 2: there's is there any other creature in that world that's
- 42:32Speaker 2: ultimately ultimately the author is not doesn't have much of
- 42:35Speaker 2: an imagination, not a creative guy.
- 42:38Speaker 4: George Lewis made like a unicorn.
- 42:43Speaker 2: You've got a talking.
- 42:45Speaker 3: You've got all of the animals.
- 42:46Speaker 2: You just have some talking animals, the little bird that
- 42:50Speaker 2: talks or something different.
- 42:51Speaker 3: Spec you're saying, el it's like a different species.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Come on, I don't know why he was so restrained
- 42:56Speaker 2: with just dragons, like an sea creature?
- 43:01Speaker 3: What stands Game of Thrones.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Apart from everything, I think it's the language, like the sex, okay,
- 43:09Speaker 2: a lot of sex, and you know, it's darker.
- 43:12Speaker 3: Than Flord the Rings fanfit.
- 43:13Speaker 2: Essentially if Lord of the Rings was embarrassed of how
- 43:15Speaker 2: dorky it was and then tried to be a little
- 43:18Speaker 2: bit more mature.
- 43:19Speaker 3: My god, that nuance is really good.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:21Speaker 3: It had that. It's a little bit of embarrassment and had.
- 43:23Speaker 4: That because it is what you're saying, where it's the
- 43:26Speaker 4: slight performance of this is sexy, yes, and it's not
- 43:28Speaker 4: exactly embodied right.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Not able to throw itself entirely into let's just have
- 43:34Speaker 2: something with long pointy.
- 43:36Speaker 4: Years, yeah, or let them just fuck. It's like and
- 43:38Speaker 4: the circumstances make it so butter it's just don't have
- 43:41Speaker 4: to fuck?
- 43:42Speaker 2: Okay, all right, buddy, Yeah, if that's your fan, Yeah, yeah,
- 43:45Speaker 2: I don't know. I've got I've got issues, I've got notes,
- 43:48Speaker 2: and the series is not over. So I feel like
- 43:50Speaker 2: George R. Or Martin Can he did the finish, he's
- 43:53Speaker 2: still got two books to write. He's uh, you know,
- 43:57Speaker 2: it's I'm not a hardcore fan thing, god, but I
- 44:00Speaker 2: feel like a lot of his fans are like mean
- 44:02Speaker 2: to him at this point. I feel like there was
- 44:04Speaker 2: a video recently that he was at a conference and
- 44:06Speaker 2: somebody like raised their hand and was like, are you
- 44:08Speaker 2: going to ride it before you die?
- 44:10Speaker 3: Well, that can, I'd be really honest with you.
- 44:12Speaker 4: The whole wasn't the whole stick And like I remember
- 44:13Speaker 4: hearing this in twenty eleven because I was at my
- 44:16Speaker 4: Strathmore apartment in Boston and someone was like, do you
- 44:18Speaker 4: know that he had to tell producers how it ends
- 44:21Speaker 4: in case he dies before? Okay, so we're like fifteen
- 44:24Speaker 4: years later and my guys like, what are we doing?
- 44:27Speaker 3: What are we doing?
- 44:28Speaker 2: I'm not quite sure does he know how it ends?
- 44:30Speaker 2: That's the big question.
- 44:31Speaker 4: It's giving, like, oh I feel bad. It's giving like
- 44:34Speaker 4: it's going to be a big deal. It's a big
- 44:36Speaker 4: brother as a present, like he has no idea.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Nobody and uh. I think people were really upset with
- 44:43Speaker 2: how the TV series ended. Really, I think they kind
- 44:46Speaker 2: of absolutely dropped the ball in a lot of ways.
- 44:49Speaker 3: Wasn't he a part of that?
- 44:50Speaker 2: I think he kind of became less and less involved, Okay,
- 44:54Speaker 2: and then it's just kind of a disaster.
- 44:57Speaker 3: That's tough. People can't land the planes.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Yeah, it's hard to land a plane.
- 45:02Speaker 3: But it's the most important part because it affects the
- 45:04Speaker 3: entire memory of the rime.
- 45:06Speaker 2: You know how you're going to land a plane before
- 45:08Speaker 2: you get it in the air. But some people get
- 45:10Speaker 2: a little excited and just get going. And then I
- 45:13Speaker 2: feel like those books. Actually, I think you read the
- 45:15Speaker 2: first three and it feels like, oh, this could have
- 45:17Speaker 2: just been it. And then I think he got a
- 45:19Speaker 2: little excited and just kept going.
- 45:21Speaker 3: It's tough.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, is there anything left to say about our
- 45:24Speaker 2: beautiful posters?
- 45:25Speaker 3: Do they feel inspiring to you?
- 45:27Speaker 2: Of course I've inspired three times.
- 45:29Speaker 3: Well, besides dude to find a killer.
- 45:33Speaker 2: I've got so much going on in my life.
- 45:35Speaker 4: Now.
- 45:35Speaker 2: I've got a new podcast I have to launch. I
- 45:38Speaker 2: have to track down the sky in prison or potentially
- 45:42Speaker 2: deal with his lawsuits.
- 45:44Speaker 3: You have to avenge an owl.
- 45:45Speaker 2: I have to avenge. I may have to learn learn
- 45:48Speaker 2: to hang glide.
- 45:49Speaker 3: Okay, I'm just happy. I want you to be inspired.
- 45:55Speaker 2: I'm thrilled about these. I'm going to put these back
- 45:57Speaker 2: in the tubes so I can access my computer. Here.
- 46:00Speaker 3: You good luck, because I'll be honest.
- 46:01Speaker 4: I had to read fope to get those all into
- 46:04Speaker 4: one this morning, not last night. Literally, you should see
- 46:06Speaker 4: me with a little roll and then I had to
- 46:08Speaker 4: tighten the other one and go.
- 46:11Speaker 3: So good luck.
- 46:12Speaker 2: They were very neatly wrapped. I was impressed. Well, I
- 46:16Speaker 2: think we should play a game. I can't wait. We're
- 46:18Speaker 2: gonna play a game called Gift or a Curse. But
- 46:20Speaker 2: I need a number between one and ten from you.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Nine.
- 46:24Speaker 2: Okay. I have to do some like calculating to get
- 46:26Speaker 2: our game pieces right now so you can promote, recommend,
- 46:30Speaker 2: do whatever you want. I'll be right back.
- 46:32Speaker 3: Okay, Hello, Quti Bears, it's just me now. Wow, things
- 46:35Speaker 3: are going to be a little different from now on. Okay,
- 46:39Speaker 3: I'm kidding.
- 46:39Speaker 4: You could listen to my podcast Worse They with Mofi
- 46:41Speaker 4: Passic Good get production. Listen where you listen. It's very fun.
- 46:45Speaker 4: I interview people about their creative process. I'd like to
- 46:49Speaker 4: talk more abstractly instead of wake up the morning pages
- 46:52Speaker 4: more like you know that song you listen to when
- 46:54Speaker 4: you're seven, maybe inspired you to then learn how to
- 46:57Speaker 4: listen to music different that sort of stuff.
- 47:00Speaker 3: Love you, You're perfect in every way.
- 47:02Speaker 4: I bet you looked in the mirror today or you didn't,
- 47:04Speaker 4: And I want you to look through my eyes and
- 47:06Speaker 4: guess what I'm looking at the best personal live and
- 47:08Speaker 4: it's you.
- 47:10Speaker 3: I'm still chilling here. I think I promoted me. I'm
- 47:13Speaker 3: cool butt it.
- 47:17Speaker 2: I hate to cut some that was so beautiful and lovely.
- 47:20Speaker 2: Everyone go listen to most podcasts.
- 47:22Speaker 4: I hope and I can't wait to hear your process.
- 47:24Speaker 4: I opeen to get to break down and break it down.
- 47:27Speaker 2: With you, break it down. I would love to and yes,
- 47:29Speaker 2: I would love that because it's Look at this rain.
- 47:31Speaker 3: People need to know.
- 47:31Speaker 4: It's the type of rain that's like a seattle wash.
- 47:34Speaker 4: Like it's like a subtle.
- 47:35Speaker 2: It's so soft. Yeah, I really love it. It's kind of
- 47:38Speaker 2: at an angle. Yeah, it's not pounding, and we might
- 47:42Speaker 2: hear it on the mic. Maybe hopefully the listener will
- 47:44Speaker 2: be able to enjoy a little bit of that rain.
- 47:46Speaker 3: We're taking to Hawaii.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Yeah, we're off to Hawaii. We're on our hang gliders.
- 47:51Speaker 2: We're chasing on the owl to the islands. Okay, this
- 47:54Speaker 2: is how we play gift or a Curse. I'm going
- 47:56Speaker 2: to name three things. You'll tell me if there are
- 47:57Speaker 2: a gift or a curse and why then I'll tell
- 48:00Speaker 2: if you're right or wrong, because there are correct answers.
- 48:02Speaker 3: All right, speaking of curses.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Speaking of curses. Yeah, first one is from a listener
- 48:07Speaker 2: named Caitlin Gift or a curse speakerphone.
- 48:10Speaker 3: To be on the phone a speaker yes, curse?
- 48:12Speaker 2: Why?
- 48:14Speaker 3: Okay?
- 48:14Speaker 4: Well, first of all, I don't want to put my
- 48:16Speaker 4: little grubby phone to my ears, so I don't.
- 48:18Speaker 3: I don't want to be doing that.
- 48:19Speaker 4: And so you're thinking, great, it's a gift, and no,
- 48:22Speaker 4: it's not at all, because it's a curse. Because acoustics
- 48:26Speaker 4: into space, people sharing the info you're around. It's also
- 48:30Speaker 4: that sort of like people in an uber that get
- 48:32Speaker 4: on their speakerphone and I'm like, there's a stranger right here.
- 48:34Speaker 4: There's a stranger right here, and I like and part
- 48:37Speaker 4: of me is going like, do you want them to
- 48:38Speaker 4: hear the contacts on the other side of your car?
- 48:40Speaker 4: I don't.
- 48:40Speaker 3: I don't like it.
- 48:41Speaker 2: That's okay, correct? Yes, correct, Yeah, you're nailed it. I
- 48:47Speaker 2: mean it seems like it should really work. Right. This
- 48:50Speaker 2: is the thing with speakerphone for me, and I've only
- 48:52Speaker 2: realized this in the past couple of years. It makes
- 48:54Speaker 2: me mad at whoever I'm talking to because the sound
- 48:57Speaker 2: it's loud, it's obnoxious sounding, it's tinning, and it puts
- 49:00Speaker 2: me on edge with whoever i'm talking to. Neeled it
- 49:03Speaker 2: it's like, it's not that the intimacy of putting it
- 49:06Speaker 2: to your ear, it's this, uh, I don't know, it
- 49:09Speaker 2: feels like they're yelling at you.
- 49:11Speaker 4: Well then you physically like almost going to cover the
- 49:13Speaker 4: phone because it's like it just feels it doesn't feel
- 49:16Speaker 4: like it's for you. It is opening the space up
- 49:18Speaker 4: and they're not there.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Right. Yeah, yeah, it's uh not for me.
- 49:22Speaker 4: It's helpful to clock the anger because I sometimes it
- 49:25Speaker 4: is like.
- 49:26Speaker 2: There's something like subconsciously that's happening you're hearing. It's the
- 49:30Speaker 2: noise is making you a little edgy.
- 49:32Speaker 4: I think what it's like when someone's phone's breaking up
- 49:34Speaker 4: and it's like we're breaking up and I know it's
- 49:35Speaker 4: not their fault, but I'm.
- 49:36Speaker 2: Like, yeah, it's the exact thing, so we've got to
- 49:40Speaker 2: They should just remove that feature from phones.
- 49:42Speaker 3: I love that, love that black and white think.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Yes, all right. The second one is from a listener
- 49:48Speaker 2: named Colin Gift her a curse Milkshakes.
- 49:51Speaker 4: Collin spills up with two l's a little freak, Yeah,
- 49:59Speaker 4: I felt it all right, Well, a gift for a
- 50:02Speaker 4: curt Okay, Milkshakes, I'm uncomfortably going to say gift.
- 50:07Speaker 3: Why, I don't want to say gift, but it is.
- 50:10Speaker 4: Milkshakes are a gift because listen, in a world of
- 50:13Speaker 4: cookies and brownies and cakes and frostings, those that world,
- 50:19Speaker 4: in a world of that, right, milkshake is this psychotic thing.
- 50:23Speaker 4: And I'm Midwestern, like you're gonna have a dairy with
- 50:25Speaker 4: the dairy, with the dairy. It's this thing where it's
- 50:29Speaker 4: like sometimes you can order it as you're drink with
- 50:31Speaker 4: your burger at certain places, but sometimes it can be
- 50:36Speaker 4: like a long sort of dessert that's personal that you
- 50:38Speaker 4: don't have to share. It's not like sharing ice cream,
- 50:40Speaker 4: which is disgusting because it's like, I'm sorry, like the
- 50:43Speaker 4: suspension of your spit and that creamy, viscous fluid and
- 50:46Speaker 4: then I'm just disgusting.
- 50:48Speaker 3: So and it's personal.
- 50:49Speaker 4: So despite feeling like anyone being bloated and drinking that
- 50:55Speaker 4: much dairy is a curse to be around, I do
- 50:57Speaker 4: think they themselves are gifts.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Well, first of all, before I even get to my answer.
- 51:03Speaker 2: You really landed on something here with sharing dairy with
- 51:06Speaker 2: another person. Let's talk, there's something so I'll let somebody
- 51:10Speaker 2: like drink my water, drink my soda whatever, but if, like,
- 51:13Speaker 2: if there's a dairy element to the drink, it's got
- 51:17Speaker 2: to be in a separate glass. Right. Yes, it feels
- 51:19Speaker 2: so dirty.
- 51:20Speaker 3: It's disgusting, and I think it's because the viscosity.
- 51:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it makes that's exactly what's happening.
- 51:25Speaker 3: It's disgusting.
- 51:26Speaker 2: It's taking the spit right into it and becoming part
- 51:28Speaker 2: of the beverage.
- 51:29Speaker 4: It's and you could even see it's like, oh, it's
- 51:31Speaker 4: brutal so like intimate, yes, in a way where I'm like,
- 51:35Speaker 4: oh no, no, no, no, no.
- 51:37Speaker 2: No, yes, there's wow. You really I've always wondered why
- 51:42Speaker 2: I felt like that was such a weird thing to do.
- 51:43Speaker 3: Had you felt that, Yeah.
- 51:45Speaker 2: Well, unfortunately you're wrong. I know it was. I love
- 51:50Speaker 2: a good milkshake, but we've got to land on a
- 51:53Speaker 2: consistency for milkshakes.
- 51:56Speaker 3: Consistency is your issue.
- 51:57Speaker 2: I'm often you'll order a milkshake and you'll be served
- 52:00Speaker 2: a thing you cannot drink. You're if it comes with
- 52:02Speaker 2: a spoon. This is not to me a milkshake, and
- 52:06Speaker 2: that needs to be either classified as something else or
- 52:09Speaker 2: the restaurant.
- 52:10Speaker 3: You're like humiliatingly sucking down the.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Herd and I just don't. I feel like I could
- 52:16Speaker 2: never count on a milkshake unless I know and trust
- 52:19Speaker 2: the place and so and then I feel like a
- 52:22Speaker 2: lot of fast food places are kind of cheaping out
- 52:24Speaker 2: on the milkshakes. There would be a crummy ice cream,
- 52:28Speaker 2: and I want them to be as good as possible,
- 52:31Speaker 2: and it's a it's a big investment in a dessert.
- 52:34Speaker 4: The unspoken here, though, is like the constant attempts you're
- 52:36Speaker 4: making and having a milkshake experience that not a lot
- 52:39Speaker 4: of people are doing. And there's such an endearing adoration
- 52:42Speaker 4: of milkshakes in that because not all of us are
- 52:44Speaker 4: trying and going.
- 52:45Speaker 2: You wouldn't believe the amount of milkshakes I drink also
- 52:53Speaker 2: kind of like absolute poison for your body, the amount
- 52:57Speaker 2: of ice cream you're consuming when you're drinking a milkshake.
- 53:00Speaker 4: I remember one time we went it was like it
- 53:02Speaker 4: was God, it was like sixth grade and this like
- 53:05Speaker 4: it was when they were starting.
- 53:06Speaker 3: To introduce calories on menus, and I looked, and I
- 53:10Speaker 3: was so confused.
- 53:10Speaker 4: I think it was like Ruby Tuesday, because I had
- 53:12Speaker 4: gotten like we'd gotten before, which is the case ida
- 53:15Speaker 4: as an advertiser. And then of course I got in
- 53:18Speaker 4: like a burger or something, and then I gotten like
- 53:20Speaker 4: Manzarelli sticks, and then I got I love this course
- 53:22Speaker 4: I was an athlete. And then I got my own
- 53:24Speaker 4: big like milkshake. I remember the milkshake was two thousand calories,
- 53:29Speaker 4: and my brain was like, wait, that's all I'm just
- 53:31Speaker 4: to have in a day. Wait a minute, Oh no,
- 53:36Speaker 4: it's like you probably shouldn't be having that is the drink.
- 53:40Speaker 2: It's truly like emergency recovery foods. It's like that should
- 53:44Speaker 2: only be served in hospital for people are like, we've
- 53:46Speaker 2: got to get something into this body. And then having
- 53:50Speaker 2: one a week.
- 53:52Speaker 3: You're having one a week. Oh my god, you really
- 53:54Speaker 3: love milkshakes.
- 53:55Speaker 2: I love milkshakes.
- 53:57Speaker 3: Wait, my heart's broken that it's a curse though.
- 53:59Speaker 2: That's when I get a bad one. I'll say, like
- 54:02Speaker 2: in and out their milkshakes no good.
- 54:04Speaker 3: Okay. Is it because of their firm No.
- 54:05Speaker 2: It's because they're there. It's the flavor. The flavor is
- 54:08Speaker 2: not right. The chocolate doesn't taste like chocolate.
- 54:11Speaker 3: Yeah, actually because malts. That's not get into molts.
- 54:14Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it's a whole other category.
- 54:16Speaker 3: But people think that's chocolate.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Malt is not chocolate. It's not. It's going to add
- 54:19Speaker 2: a layer to a chocolate, sure, but you simply can't
- 54:23Speaker 2: think it's a chocolate.
- 54:24Speaker 3: I think you would respect. Have you ever been to
- 54:26Speaker 3: a Culver's.
- 54:27Speaker 2: I've been to one culver Is a long time ago,
- 54:30Speaker 2: and it was kind of depressing inside. I don't know,
- 54:34Speaker 2: people love you're speaking demon language.
- 54:36Speaker 3: I have no idea. It's one of the best plays
- 54:37Speaker 3: on Earth.
- 54:39Speaker 2: It was like perfectly clean everything, but there was a
- 54:41Speaker 2: sadness in the air.
- 54:43Speaker 3: Mister Dell was in the corner.
- 54:46Speaker 2: Maybe I was just so. Maybe I was too excited
- 54:49Speaker 2: to try because I had heard such good things about
- 54:51Speaker 2: the milkshake.
- 54:51Speaker 4: Or maybe I go to your home and there's happiness.
- 54:53Speaker 4: But I'm in a culver Is my whole life.
- 54:57Speaker 2: But it's very successful in the Midwest.
- 55:00Speaker 3: I don't think it's expanded much.
- 55:01Speaker 2: Well, they've made it to Utah. Oh good for them,
- 55:03Speaker 2: which I believe is the inter Mountain West.
- 55:06Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just a spread because they have what I
- 55:08Speaker 4: think you might respect is something called concretes concrete where
- 55:12Speaker 4: it's like technically.
- 55:13Speaker 3: The milkshake, but in the offer milkshakes as well. Center.
- 55:16Speaker 3: But they're telling you the consistency.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Yes, this is the concrete you eat with a spoon.
- 55:19Speaker 3: Yes.
- 55:20Speaker 4: And I like that they're communicating that. They're not saying
- 55:22Speaker 4: this is a milkshake.
- 55:23Speaker 2: Right, because that happens a lot miscommunication. Well, and on
- 55:26Speaker 2: the East Coast it gets even more confusing because they
- 55:28Speaker 2: often call them FRAPs.
- 55:29Speaker 3: That's the worst friendlies does that?
- 55:32Speaker 2: Just where did the word what?
- 55:34Speaker 3: It's so weird.
- 55:34Speaker 2: It's so weird, right because that has kind of been
- 55:39Speaker 2: co opted by Starbucks.
- 55:40Speaker 4: And you also don't literally it's probably based on the
- 55:43Speaker 4: blender and nobody presses frap for that.
- 55:45Speaker 3: You're not even frapping it.
- 55:46Speaker 2: I think you only frap an orange Julius.
- 55:48Speaker 3: Say the fuck that. That's a amazing truth. The only
- 55:54Speaker 3: thing that you should be frapping, don't know it's Julius.
- 56:00Speaker 3: I love that. Do you like the sidecar.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Oh with a milkshake? Yeah? I love it. It's a
- 56:06Speaker 2: little icy to get even more of the tastes.
- 56:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that one's really good. Where are you getting that
- 56:11Speaker 3: these days though?
- 56:13Speaker 2: In Utah, I know leather Bees. Sorry what it's called
- 56:16Speaker 2: leather Bees? And I thought you said leather beast, leather bet.
- 56:20Speaker 3: That's a whole like, no, you shouldn't go there versus dark.
- 56:25Speaker 2: It's a very dark bar in Utah, serves milkshake.
- 56:33Speaker 3: Sounds an incredible cologne.
- 56:35Speaker 2: It's called leather Bees. It's a very family friendly restaurant
- 56:38Speaker 2: with terrible overhead lighting.
- 56:39Speaker 3: And it took from Apples No way.
- 56:41Speaker 2: Wait what about apples bees Bees? Oh b y b
- 56:45Speaker 2: y apostrophe. Yes, it's maybe a family name. But they
- 56:48Speaker 2: serve an excellent milkshake. But they need to turn down
- 56:51Speaker 2: the lights everybody. You go in there and you're like, oh,
- 56:55Speaker 2: we all look terrible.
- 56:57Speaker 3: But is it a fast food place.
- 56:58Speaker 2: It's more of a like a little scream parlor. Okay,
- 57:01Speaker 2: you have a waiter.
- 57:02Speaker 3: Okay, so just.
- 57:04Speaker 2: Turn off the overhead lights and get a few lamps.
- 57:06Speaker 3: We're taking a small business.
- 57:11Speaker 2: They can take it all right. Well, you've gotten one right,
- 57:14Speaker 2: one wrong. Okay, this is the final one. If I
- 57:17Speaker 2: can get into my computer here.
- 57:20Speaker 3: I know I got one wrong. We have to believe me.
- 57:21Speaker 3: I am a very good student as well, I have
- 57:24Speaker 3: high IQ.
- 57:28Speaker 2: Here comes Bonnie. Bonnie is entering the picture for a moment. Bonnie,
- 57:34Speaker 2: she must be desperate to come out. She's entering trying
- 57:37Speaker 2: to get the recording equipment. Oh oh, thank you. Bonnie
- 57:47Speaker 2: is trying to turn mow into a toy as well.
- 57:49Speaker 3: I got to scrunchy on. That's very toy esque.
- 57:52Speaker 2: Oh wow. The interactions that community the world is having
- 57:55Speaker 2: with us.
- 57:55Speaker 3: Right now in the fine and they want to join in.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Huh.
- 57:58Speaker 2: Super Dell is going to land in his a glider
- 58:00Speaker 2: and shoot me.
- 58:01Speaker 3: Also, the intro to your thing is go and go.
- 58:08Speaker 3: He's gonna come in his egg.
- 58:09Speaker 2: Wow. If he's not in prison, he should do the parody.
- 58:15Speaker 3: Imagine.
- 58:16Speaker 2: Oh wow.
- 58:16Speaker 3: I was just kind of.
- 58:17Speaker 2: Like, what I feel that, Super Dell. Okay, well let's
- 58:24Speaker 2: see here. We'll wait for.
- 58:25Speaker 3: What Bonnie after?
- 58:28Speaker 2: Who's she named after? Just we like the name I
- 58:31Speaker 2: wanted to name. I actually wanted to name her Ronnie,
- 58:33Speaker 2: after Ronnie Specter because I love, but Jim didn't want her.
- 58:39Speaker 2: Our last dog at Edie was frequently called Eddie, and
- 58:42Speaker 2: Jim's like, she's a little girl and she wants her
- 58:45Speaker 2: to be a little girl. For reason, Bonnie, and Bonnie's
- 58:49Speaker 2: a sweet name.
- 58:51Speaker 3: Because there's so many good associations. It's fun.
- 58:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, a lot of good Bonnie's and I think
- 58:56Speaker 2: it means beautiful, Oh does it? Baby? Yeah? Honlys is
- 59:02Speaker 2: basically confirming experiencelander. That's all you need.
- 59:08Speaker 4: Also, my friend, I have a I have a fake
- 59:11Speaker 4: Dalmatian in my house and he's named bone Chance Eddie
- 59:14Speaker 4: because b o any chance good luck and then so
- 59:20Speaker 4: it's bone Bony could be sometimes as a fun yeah,
- 59:23Speaker 4: just pitching on some really incredible stuff.
- 59:25Speaker 3: Here, give me that curse.
- 59:27Speaker 2: Yes, all right? The final one or two different people
- 59:30Speaker 2: submitted this Hannah and Kristen gift to a curse. Foaming
- 59:34Speaker 2: hand soap.
- 59:36Speaker 4: Hannah and Kristen, okay, girls, you should get talk to
- 59:40Speaker 4: colin Foaming hand soap. I would identify it as a gift.
- 59:46Speaker 4: I understand people think, what is it like? It's not
- 59:48Speaker 4: a nitrates. It's the word in all those shampoos. Now,
- 59:50Speaker 4: you can't fake I understand.
- 59:52Speaker 3: You know.
- 59:53Speaker 4: It couldn't get chaotic as well if you have no
- 59:55Speaker 4: sort of portion control. But it is identifying how much
- 59:58Speaker 4: soap you do have any visual quick way, especially if
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: you're in a like, if you're in like a coffee
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: sho house, you don't you don't want to spend a
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: long time washing or whatever.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: You go, like, let me see you did it? Get soap?
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: I got soap?
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: But this is I'm bad at context because are you
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: talking about the one that goes automatically and gives you a.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: Wisp of Oh? Interesting? I think it's all we know
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: is it's a It ends up foam on your hand, and.
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: It doesn't start a foam. It works into a form.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: Well, whatever the little dispenser is doing, there's foam in there.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: I don't know how foam. Hence you're asking the wrong person.
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: I'm difficult, though, I like, I like in my whole life.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: I'm like, I can't answer that because I don't really
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: hire contact the podcast. Literally they're like, do you like this?
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: I'm like, well, I don't know what day is it? Uh?
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: We never talk again?
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: Delete the audio.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: Foaming soap.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: I hate him, Okay, I actually can you know what
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: I say?
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: Because of this experience, because of this chaos.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: Curse, curse.
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: Wrong, I know I felt it.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: It's a gift. The slimy stuff has gotta go. Sure,
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: it's I like either a foam or have you ever
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: used the gritty powder?
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: That's awful.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: That stuff's very interesting. It's almost no, it's like almost
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: like exfoliating. I think it's more used like by mechanics.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Why are you well at my dad's work, there are
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: mechanics there, and as a kid, you'd go in and
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: use this powder and as a child has a beautiful
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: citrus smell. It was almost like rubbing sand all over
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: your head.
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: But it makes sense because also it's oil and you
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: have to absorb an oil agent with a.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: Right yes, yeah, So the slime's gotta go. We're done
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: with the slime. We're doing foam or grit only.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: What do you have in your home?
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: Foam? You do well? Because here's my probably lying but foam.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: I love that.
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: I support you lie to me. But my thing is
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: there is not a diversity, like if I want to
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: get like a little chic like aceup sort of thing,
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: they don't have a foamy agent.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: Right, A doesn't do the phone? Are do you think
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: as a fancy soap or past ASoP? Now as it's
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: it's done, it's taking its place.
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: It's a boutique.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: Oh really like very low yeah.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: Because I think ASP was a part of the era
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: of like the millennial outdoor versus soul cycle.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: Yes, sweet green right, no longer like a symbol like.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: It use it was a disposable income symbol.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: Yes, So now people are like, we're over it.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: And it can't stay in the same way like Loabo
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: does because the labo's scent itself is unique and good.
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: Right where is AP is nice but just fresh?
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: Right? Wow?
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: Do you like?
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: What do I like? I kind of, I kind of
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: don't have any particular favorites, to be honest, I'm trying
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: to think. I like a laugh and I like a
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: a woodsy woodsy and citrusy sandal wood. Yeah, I love that.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: I like crazy about a tobacco.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: I really like it.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Do you like a tobacco?
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: I laughed so hard I almost during this for a
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: sale the tom Ford sent I like that they took
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: forever to release. It's like called black lacquer okay, and
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: it's like smoke tobaccoly smell. And then I put it
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: in my cart.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: It was like, this is like a volatile agent.
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: It will have to be ground delivered, it said, And
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: I think it's probably just certain perfumes, but it reminded
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: me of the scene in Anchorman when Paul Red's character.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: You've never seen that movie.
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: I think you'd have fun.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: I should give it a shot.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: Are you of that? Did you like that era of movies?
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: What are we talking about here?
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: The Appatael Farrell two thousand and five to twenty eleven vibes.
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: I'm up and down on them, but I feel like
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: this one I might be into. I think you're goofy.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: It's very goofy.
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: But I think if you're into goofy, unless like I
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: think other guys, is the starter kit for someone like you?
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Oh okay, I liked other guys are liking other.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: Okay, great, I think that's the good starter.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Yeah, but you were going to say the volatile agent.
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, Paul Red's character has like black panther, this
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: like cent that they have to come.
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: It's like a bio agent essentially.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: And the ladies love it.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: Then they have to hose him.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: Down, lie or something.
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: Okay, it's a tobacco flavor.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Well you got it's a curse or I mean it's
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: a gift to whoop ooo everything.
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: I think we're all winning in the end, We're all
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: God stayed in Oh my god.
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: What if this is the sort of a poster company.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: Oh my god, and a podcast. We're sitting on a
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: gold mine here, my god, I'm sick. All right. I
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: think we should answer a listener question. We hope me
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: answer question absolutely. People writing in or sending voice notes
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: to I said no gifts at gmail dot com. This
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: is Bridger and Guest. I need your help. I need
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: to buy a gift for my ninety year old Croatian grandma.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: You are it's perfect?
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: Wow, this is incredible. Yes, she doesn't need any more clutter.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: She can't really drive anywhere on her own anymore. And
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: I live far away and she will be upset if
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: I spend too much on postage. She always checks the
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: postage and she is not tech savvy. What should I do?
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: Please help? And that's from Brassy, your Croatian.
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: Well, I so I literally know all these like yet
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: one migrate out my rose? Who those I belonged to
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: the way Croatians love postage?
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: I have.
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: I have every postage.
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: Stamp from every era at every increment of money.
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: Do you think that is scarcity? I don't know.
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: Interesting, but I think I have a perfect gift. But
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: I want you to pitch first.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: Okay, it's no clutter, not tech savvy and hates expensive
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: postage and no clutter.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: I'm assuming because she already has nick nacks.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: Galore of there, so it's got to be light yeah, small.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: She's ninety, so I'm trying to think of something. You
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: know I got on this podcast recently, was a head
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: massage or one of the ones that's made of all
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: the little wires.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: Nice, they're like so like a sensory.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Fantastic, except for at ninety can you reach now?
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: There is talking.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: Use grandma and she's far away, so we don't quite
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: know how far is she just far away, which so
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: not creative.
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: And she doesn't like if you spend too much money
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: on post right, so it can't be.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: Too heavy, So we've got to assume maybe a dollar
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: postage max.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: That's crazy. That's actually crazy that you can only write
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: a letter.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: Yeah, right, it's got to be a meaningful letter.
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: Well, okay, I can add to this, so I think
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: one of you know, the lavender speaking of saying in Croatia,
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: what we used to do in all of my great
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: aunts and all my other aunts homes and closets is
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: they would put they would press lavender and like almost
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: like little popo rebags. They would put it in every
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: closet of Croatian lavender. And so you'd find these little
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: bags everywhere and like in the closets of Croatian lavender.
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: And so they could press lavender into like a book
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: or something and just give that like creation lavender, right,
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: or they could put it in like a little poop
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: rebag that she could put in her closet and to
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: have like the yesteryear smell.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: Oh that sounds lovely.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: It feels light descent.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: Yeah, light easy. If that's too much work, maybe a
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: stick of gum.
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: Oh my god, that's so nice, easy peasy. Because she
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: doesn't have teeth, it doesn't hurt.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: Send her a life saving.
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: Wait can I say something? Yeah, I was listening to PREP.
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: I was listening to a podcast that you did on
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: this podcast and you indicated at one point in your
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: life you were having half a stick of gum, and
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: I got I was listening with that's like, that's crazy, that's.
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: That's resourceful, because how do you does it disintegrate?
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: I'm not I'm buying the highest quality gum.
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: You're too rate like what like a two per hour
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: like that was what the hell it worked for me.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: I'm so glad it organically came up.
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: Worked for me. I now that you're bringing it up
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: in such a nasty.
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: Way, Yes, we are contentious, don't you forget it?
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: I might go back to half a stick.
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: Although I'm no longer using stick gum, I'm using because
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: I carry my gum in my purse and I hate
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: when the uh sticks get out and go crazy and
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: canteel on stuff worse, so I put it. You know,
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: I'm getting a dente ice, okay, And there's no true
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: I mean, if I was choosing half of that, that
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: would be crazy. All the cops bite.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: Fold it back up real nice, and it's a little tinfoil.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: No. I was doing a half piece for a long
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: time and swallowing every piece of it.
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: I have a question, well, because my grandma was when
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: she'd have a cigarette in the garage, we'd get a
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: piece of gum, and if there's two of my sister
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: and I right, she would split it.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: I thought the Sheik thing to do.
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: If you have to split gum is to rip it
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: when it's still in the foil, or do you rip
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: it ah.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: In the foil. Absolutely, snap it in half, snap it like,
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: fold it in half and then rip. So it's nice
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: and even like you're like your bum loose leaf. Yes,
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: exactly exactly, And now I can't wait to restart my
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: life as someone who choose half a piece of gum.
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: But I like it because it's kind of intimate for
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: me because I know you're doing it in resistance to me.
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, every time there will just because I'll be
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: chewing an anger violent. Okay, well I think the potpourri
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: or again half, Now we're downgrading half a piece of
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: gum in an envelop and maybe just quick love your grandma. Yeah,
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: and then she can't. I mean, if the grandma complains,
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: she's created this trap for herself. I off the complaints.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: I think it's a grandma because you can write a letter.
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: What if you tried to write a letter in like
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: her native ties. I think effort and into thoughtfulness when
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: you can't have weight or tech right, or like maybe
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: a posted card from a place she used to be, like,
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: did you just have the thing nostalgically right? You should
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: a restaurant she liked to go.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: You're trying to bring this grandma to tears.
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: Yeah, they need to feel.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: They got a lot of war in their blood.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: Yeah, they got to cry it out. I'm happy to
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: do that.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: Well, I think the grandma's going to be happy. I
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: hope to ruin a grandma's birthday.
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: That's fine. She didn't care.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: She said she spent her enough.
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: Yes, she forgot. I think you're too much.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: Well, we answered the question perfectly. I have three gorgeous posters,
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: and I've had a lovely time with you.
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: I'm truly having the time of my life.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: And look now I have to send you home in
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: the rain.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: I've had is devis. I didn't bring up Brella.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I do have an umbrella. Maybe I'll go
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: grab it and bring take you to your car. Would
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: you like that?
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: That'll me kind of nice.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: Well, let's end the podcast. The listener in the podcast
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: is over. We've got to deal with the rain. I
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: love you, goodbye, I said no Gifts is an exactly

- 1:10:48Speaker 2: do it without our booker, Patrick Cottner, you must follow
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: the show on Instagram, and I said, no gifts. That's
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: where you're going to see pictures of all these wonderful
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: gifts I'm getting. And don't you want to see the gifts?
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: But I invited you here, thought I made myself perfectly clear.
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: When you're I.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: Guess to my home, you gotta come to me empty.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: And I said, no guests. Your presences presents enough that
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: I already had too much stuff.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: So how do you
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: Dare to surbey me
