- 0:55Speaker 3: There you go.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Now we're recording. The light is on, yes, and we
- 0:58Speaker 1: are recording. Now, we're recording.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Okay, nice, nice, we were you know, we should have done.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Does does Streamyard have filters?
- 1:07Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:08Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Maybe can we can?
- 1:10Speaker 3: We do the podcast in black white? So that sucks too?
- 1:13Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, we're gonna talk about it.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll talk about it.
- 1:24Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about it. Yeah. Even the reactions are interesting. Anyways,
- 1:31Speaker 1: how are you guys doing all right?
- 1:33Speaker 3: Okay?
- 1:34Speaker 1: Yeah, good. I just came back from camping. Oh that's right.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Yeah, literally ninety minutes ago. I woke up ninety minutes
- 1:45Speaker 2: ago and uh, yeah we.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Were how long were you camping for?
- 1:51Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:52Speaker 2: Two days?
- 1:53Speaker 3: Okay, I'm trying to I'm trying to gauge like what
- 1:55Speaker 3: you probably smell like right now?
- 1:57Speaker 2: Yeah, because I hadn't powered this morning, I know you
- 2:00Speaker 2: feel like yeah, no, it was probably two and a
- 2:04Speaker 2: half hours ago. About seven thirty. We woke up and
- 2:07Speaker 2: uh we were able to pack up, get back here,
- 2:10Speaker 2: unpack and I was able to get into the into
- 2:14Speaker 2: the office and start the podcast about five minutes before
- 2:16Speaker 2: we started. Yeah, so had a Yeah, we went camping
- 2:20Speaker 2: at Fort Custer Recreational Area. So Fort Custer is basically
- 2:24Speaker 2: three entities. It's the Bay Army Base, it's the cemetery,
- 2:28Speaker 2: and it's the campground.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Yeah. So we uh this was part of part of
- 2:33Speaker 3: your reunion thing that you were at.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Yeah, so we just did well. It kind of the
- 2:37Speaker 2: camping trip was just sort of coincidental. We were already
- 2:40Speaker 2: out there, so we might as well go camping. So
- 2:42Speaker 2: I I every every couple of years or every year,
- 2:45Speaker 2: so my buddy Fritz and I we organize a reunion
- 2:49Speaker 2: for the foral first mostly for the people that deployed
- 2:51Speaker 2: with us in two thousand and three, and and four,
- 2:55Speaker 2: But it's really just anybody associated with the Foral First
- 2:57Speaker 2: Transportation Company. Yeah, you know, friends and families.
- 3:00Speaker 3: See I saw your post.
- 3:01Speaker 4: I read it too fast, and I was like, oh,
- 3:06Speaker 4: I didn't know he was a Stormtrooper cosplayer.
- 3:08Speaker 3: That's that's cool, that's the first. Yeah, I was off
- 3:13Speaker 3: one digit.
- 3:14Speaker 1: What digit? You should just you should just.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Show up to the next one dressed storm just dressing. Sorry, sorry, guys,
- 3:23Speaker 4: my emails got crossed.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, I thought it was a fible first. Sorry.
- 3:29Speaker 1: It's always a good time.
- 3:31Speaker 2: It was the twenty third anniversary of our deployment, so
- 3:35Speaker 2: oh that's cool. Yes, everybody is uh, everybody has a
- 3:40Speaker 2: little bit more gray in their hair, yeah, a little
- 3:43Speaker 2: bit more gut in their belly.
- 3:46Speaker 1: You guys. See, everybody did like remember the old times, right, yeah, yeah,
- 3:53Speaker 1: all the all the hits, like the early two thousands. Yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 2: And it's so funny because we're you know, everybody's there.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Everybody's telling the same exact stories that we told last year,
- 4:05Speaker 2: and we all love it.
- 4:06Speaker 5: You know.
- 4:07Speaker 1: It's like we're telling the stories for the first time.
- 4:09Speaker 1: You get.
- 4:11Speaker 2: And then in some cases husbands are standing back, going,
- 4:15Speaker 2: oh no, we're just it's kind of like, you know,
- 4:17Speaker 2: it's it's kind of like a group of Klingons. Embellishment
- 4:21Speaker 2: is sort of like expected, right, right. So yeah, I
- 4:26Speaker 2: remember that night when like, you know, nine IDs went
- 4:29Speaker 2: off and we got mortared for like fifty nine days straight.
- 4:32Speaker 1: And stuff like that. Yeah. Yeah, it's good stuff. Well,
- 4:36Speaker 1: it's good to see everybody. Yeah, that's great.
- 4:40Speaker 4: So I've been dealing with land mines. You're talking about mortars.
- 4:43Speaker 4: I've been dealing with land mines.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, from Chad. Chad.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Chad, Chad's been dropping them.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Oh boy, yeah, tell us all about that's something. We
- 4:51Speaker 1: have a cobba.
- 4:52Speaker 2: We both have Chad stories though.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Does he poop all over your floor too?
- 4:58Speaker 4: Uh no, no, okay, no, no poop accidents in the house.
- 5:01Speaker 4: They had a couple of small pp accidents in the house.
- 5:03Speaker 4: No poop accidents. But he's still he's still a puppy
- 5:06Speaker 4: we're dealing with We're dealing with puppy stuff, you know,
- 5:08Speaker 4: the the nipping and and and whatnot.
- 5:12Speaker 2: So from personal experience dealing with having Chad in the house,
- 5:17Speaker 2: it gets better after a few weeks, they learned.
- 5:20Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, but it's good it's been good having them.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Been taking them for walks every night around the neighborhood,
- 5:29Speaker 4: so you know, I beget some I've been getting some
- 5:31Speaker 4: extra exercise too.
- 5:33Speaker 3: So that's good.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Well, as you guys know, I've been dealing with an
- 5:37Speaker 1: animal as well. You know, or my dad has. Yeah, yeah,
- 5:43Speaker 1: there's a there's a moose in the loose.
- 5:45Speaker 2: And oh yeah, tell we want to hear all about it.
- 5:49Speaker 1: So yeah, the moose here. I even got a picture
- 5:54Speaker 1: of it. I will it will show for those of
- 5:57Speaker 1: you watching. That is the moose. That is the top
- 6:00Speaker 1: of my dad's car. That's how close the moose was
- 6:04Speaker 1: to to his house, just chill out in his front yard.
- 6:09Speaker 1: This moose has been around in his neighborhood for for
- 6:12Speaker 1: quite a while. Yeah, maybe summer long basically. And uh,
- 6:20Speaker 1: it has now gotten to the point that it is
- 6:22Speaker 1: invaded my dad's yard. My dad has a lot of
- 6:24Speaker 1: like fruit trees and and stuff like that, and the
- 6:28Speaker 1: moose has decided that is delicious and goes and eats them.
- 6:32Speaker 4: So so in trek cast tradition, I mean two weeks ago,
- 6:36Speaker 4: I named a dog after Chad.
- 6:37Speaker 3: So, uh, this moose is Duval.
- 6:40Speaker 4: That's the moose from so in the future, if you
- 6:44Speaker 4: discuss the moose on the show.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Okay, I like it. I like these. Yes, well, well
- 6:52Speaker 1: all the moose is not exactly a welcome visitor right now.
- 6:57Speaker 1: It's not that my dad doesn't like animals. It's that
- 7:00Speaker 1: I have a brother with special needs, and we are
- 7:02Speaker 1: afraid that he don't.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Want to hug hug he wants to hug the moose
- 7:05Speaker 4: or something and he'll get hurt.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I love the next guy too, but
- 7:11Speaker 2: I wouldn't want a moose.
- 7:13Speaker 1: They're huge, and yeah, absolutely, And this is like, I
- 7:16Speaker 1: don't know, a teenage moose.
- 7:18Speaker 2: It's not like a regular white tailed deer that will just,
- 7:20Speaker 2: you know, go away if you yell at it.
- 7:22Speaker 3: It's a teenage it's a teenage moose. So you tell
- 7:24Speaker 3: me get out of the art and he.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Goes exactly And yeah, so dad down some Yeah, my
- 7:34Speaker 1: dad is sprayed down some repellent, and so far it
- 7:37Speaker 1: seems to be working.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, moose moose repellent.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Yeah, well it's deer repellent, but it works on moose apparently. Yeah, yeah,
- 7:47Speaker 1: apparently it's supposed to mimic the smelly How dare you
- 7:51Speaker 1: of what it mikes the spray of a predator.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I figured that. Ye.
- 7:57Speaker 4: So so what's a moose is natural predator then?
- 8:01Speaker 3: I mean because yeah, all right maybe.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Yeah, what I can think of humans?
- 8:09Speaker 1: Humans? Yeah, so I don't know, but I feel like
- 8:12Speaker 1: a moose could out run a bear though, mm. I mean,
- 8:17Speaker 1: I guess it just depends on.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Does anybody have an encyclopedia or tannica? We could, you know,
- 8:25Speaker 2: go look up.
- 8:26Speaker 1: We have the internet.
- 8:28Speaker 3: We have the internet. I'm doing it right now. Yeah,
- 8:32Speaker 3: let's see.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I will say it was funny though, because we did call, uh,
- 8:36Speaker 1: the local police department, the sheriff's department, and fishing and wildlife,
- 8:40Speaker 1: and they all said they our job that you know,
- 8:45Speaker 1: you deal with that moose.
- 8:47Speaker 4: So whatever, gray wolf, brown bear, black bear, Siberian tiger
- 8:57Speaker 4: in parts.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Of eastern Russia. Well, I don't know you. I don't
- 9:00Speaker 3: know if you got them out there.
- 9:01Speaker 1: So if I get yourself a siberiand tiger.
- 9:05Speaker 3: If you do, they probably don't get that bag.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yeah, Casmin says, it's moose cast.
- 9:13Speaker 4: So yeah, bears, I don't think you have gray wolves either,
- 9:15Speaker 4: and if you do, not that many.
- 9:17Speaker 1: No, no, no, so bears basically bears bears.
- 9:21Speaker 2: The funny thing is if you went out there and
- 9:23Speaker 2: you got mulled by this thing, the first thing that
- 9:25Speaker 2: the cops would say is, why didn't you call us
- 9:27Speaker 2: or animal control?
- 9:28Speaker 1: Right right?
- 9:30Speaker 3: You know?
- 9:31Speaker 1: Yeah? Whatever?
- 9:33Speaker 3: I know.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I know they did come out last year because this
- 9:35Speaker 1: moose has been around a couple of years now, and
- 9:37Speaker 1: they came out last year and they shot him with
- 9:39Speaker 1: rubber bullets to scare him off. Yeah, and that worked.
- 9:43Speaker 3: He's got a vest now, so that's right, ineffective.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a tactical moose.
- 9:49Speaker 3: His at tactics be crow everywhere, that's right, chocolate moose cholate.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think remove chocolates. All right, Chasbis.
- 10:02Speaker 2: But the next time I have like an animal around
- 10:05Speaker 2: our house, it's gonna be named chas Bis.
- 10:06Speaker 1: So there you go, we'll have a Chad Chas Biz
- 10:12Speaker 1: is hilarious. He's gonna love that. He's gonna love that,
- 10:17Speaker 1: all right, Yeah, I'm sure. Yeah, all right. Well let's
- 10:23Speaker 1: let's get to the news.
- 10:29Speaker 3: All right.
- 10:30Speaker 1: So do you have moose news. I do not have
- 10:33Speaker 1: moose news. I did not pull moose news stories. I
- 10:36Speaker 1: picked up start Trek News. I should have though, that
- 10:39Speaker 1: would have been hilarious. Oh okay, okay, yeah, all right.
- 10:43Speaker 1: So our first news story comes to us from trekmovie
- 10:45Speaker 1: dot Com and the final of the Strange New World's
- 10:50Speaker 1: auctions ends this Tuesday. So if you want your chance
- 10:55Speaker 1: at getting some Strange New World's props, you got a
- 10:58Speaker 1: chance right now.
- 10:59Speaker 5: Uh.
- 11:00Speaker 1: These are being put on by what is it? It's
- 11:05Speaker 1: some some company. The links will be in the show notes.
- 11:09Speaker 1: But yeah, they've got all sorts of interesting props, some
- 11:13Speaker 1: l cars, some vulcan mirrors, even like Pikes decor from
- 11:21Speaker 1: his office, So all sorts of weird, interesting things you
- 11:26Speaker 1: can buy from the Stranger World sets if you're so inclined.
- 11:32Speaker 1: I don't know, man, I think the last time we
- 11:36Speaker 1: looked at this you had to go pick them up
- 11:38Speaker 1: in Toronto if you wanted to get them. So there'll
- 11:42Speaker 1: be details in the links, So there you go. Yeah,
- 11:47Speaker 1: it's a Slow Star Trek newsweek. So yeah, all right.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Our next two story comes to us from Pluto TV.
- 11:56Speaker 1: And I don't know if you know this, but Pluto
- 12:00Speaker 1: TV just launched seven live Star Trek channels featuring all
- 12:06Speaker 1: of the films and they're just playing on repeat they're
- 12:10Speaker 1: on there right now. What's really funny is they're playing
- 12:12Speaker 1: them in English and in Spanish, so just randomly make
- 12:15Speaker 1: it a Spanish Star Trek movie. Nice, So I kind
- 12:18Speaker 1: of want to watch that. I feel with I.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Feel like I could learn Spanish in about a year
- 12:23Speaker 4: if I just watched Star Trek in Spanish.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Well that and you got to think, with William Shatner's overacting,
- 12:30Speaker 1: that's gotta be like a telenovela with the Spanish, you know.
- 12:33Speaker 1: So that's gotta be great. But these channels will be
- 12:37Speaker 1: going up until September eighth, such as for a few
- 12:41Speaker 1: weeks because that's Star Trek Day. I'm there's so many
- 12:45Speaker 1: now random days. So but you can watch them now
- 12:49Speaker 1: for free Humbludo TV. So there's that. And then our
- 12:54Speaker 1: last news story comes to us from TV Insider, and
- 12:58Speaker 1: we are getting a little bit more about what we
- 13:01Speaker 1: can expect in Starfleet Academy season two thanks to Holly Hunter.
- 13:08Speaker 1: She did an interview and she was talking, yeah, I know,
- 13:11Speaker 1: Dan so excited, We're all so excited. Yeah. Basically, she
- 13:16Speaker 1: says she loves playing Captain Nolla. She thinks it's great.
- 13:20Speaker 1: She thinks that the next season is gonna be a
- 13:21Speaker 1: lot of fun with the fans, and let's see what
- 13:26Speaker 1: is it. Star Trek in general and Starfleet Academy in particular,
- 13:31Speaker 1: has an incredibly loyal and vocal fan base. They continue
- 13:34Speaker 1: to fight for the show to keep it on the air.
- 13:37Speaker 1: And yeah, so I do they Yeah, okay, whatever, I don't.
- 13:47Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think even she's got enough. You know,
- 13:49Speaker 2: she's not exactly an A list actor.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I mean, she's a she's a really good actress. But man, yeah,
- 13:59Speaker 1: oh she is.
- 14:00Speaker 2: I like her.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, me too. But yeah, so the show, the
- 14:07Speaker 1: show will continue, people will well for one more season.
- 14:11Speaker 1: We'll see how the ratings go on it. I'm interested
- 14:14Speaker 1: to see that. But apparently no big bad for season two.
- 14:19Speaker 1: A little more episodic probably, okay, yeah whatever, Yeah, I
- 14:27Speaker 1: like you guys are like whatever, man, that show can
- 14:29Speaker 1: just keep the show. So the show is, the show
- 14:32Speaker 1: is over right.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't care how it starts. We don't care
- 14:36Speaker 2: how it goes, we don't care how it ends.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Yeah, he goes, the show's over and then it like
- 14:41Speaker 1: drops off. He's done. Get him. He doesn't care how
- 14:48Speaker 1: this show ends. That's right, that's right. Screw screw that show,
- 14:54Speaker 1: screw Treck. Yeah yeah, oh no, all right, Well, let's
- 14:59Speaker 1: uh to get to the main topic.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I do have I do have some August birthdays. Oh
- 15:06Speaker 2: if I can go over, yeah, I do it.
- 15:08Speaker 1: So this is this is August. I got some pretty
- 15:11Speaker 1: big deal birthdays, Star Trek birthdays.
- 15:16Speaker 2: We'll go over a few of them. Kim Cattrall, who
- 15:18Speaker 2: played Do Valaris, We've got We've got Gene Roddenberry and
- 15:27Speaker 2: Jonathan Frakes were both born on August nineteenth, so they're
- 15:31Speaker 2: they're pretty pretty big deal. And doctor Pulaski Diana Muldart
- 15:37Speaker 2: August nineteenth.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Okay, and that's it for your August birthdays. Well, happy
- 15:43Speaker 1: birthday to all of them.
- 15:48Speaker 3: There we go, Daniel, I sent you something in messenger
- 15:53Speaker 3: if you want to.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Oh, oh my god, did he make that or did
- 16:00Speaker 1: you make that?
- 16:01Speaker 3: I made that?
- 16:03Speaker 1: That's amazing. That's just uh, there's.
- 16:11Speaker 6: That is man. Wow.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Wow.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Isn't it great?
- 16:21Speaker 3: Living in the future?
- 16:22Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, amazing, amazing. Okay, Well, on that note, let's
- 16:35Speaker 1: get to the main topic.
- 16:38Speaker 5: Fun will now commence.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to disagree with seven of nine here.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I don't believe the fund is about to commence is
- 16:48Speaker 2: not going to commence.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Yeah, man, the uh the reactions online for this one
- 16:53Speaker 1: or were mixed. For sure. There are definitely people who
- 16:57Speaker 1: loved it, but probably about amounts who did not like
- 17:01Speaker 1: it or were just like meh, whatever, it was an episode.
- 17:06Speaker 3: So here's the thing. We so our Facebook groups.
- 17:13Speaker 4: It's a public Facebook group, right, Anybody can see what's
- 17:17Speaker 4: posted there. Anybody can share what's posted there. Anyone can
- 17:23Speaker 4: comment on what's posted there. The difference, the one caveat
- 17:28Speaker 4: is if you're a member of the group, you comment
- 17:30Speaker 4: and it immediately posts. If you're not a member of
- 17:32Speaker 4: the group and you comment and needs admin approval before
- 17:36Speaker 4: it right, actually appears. So a couple hundred times a day,
- 17:42Speaker 4: one of us is in there approving these yes yes,
- 17:46Speaker 4: And it's a pretty good gauge of what people think
- 17:52Speaker 4: about these episodes. You put your post up that says
- 17:55Speaker 4: what you think of this episode, and every once in
- 17:57Speaker 4: a while I got to go through there and it's like,
- 17:59Speaker 4: all right, there's ten comments and eight of them say
- 18:02Speaker 4: it sucks.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Yeah, this uh this episode, Like when I first watched it,
- 18:16Speaker 1: I thought this.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Didn't kiss me off, Like last week's episode, did Yeah,
- 18:21Speaker 2: so like before that we've had.
- 18:26Speaker 1: In my mind.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess, I guess. I think is this one
- 18:32Speaker 2: and the last week's one are both rated five point
- 18:34Speaker 2: six on IMVB. And Daniel, I don't know if Dan
- 18:38Speaker 2: can notice this. I think you've got a delay going on,
- 18:41Speaker 2: or at least I have a delay in because your
- 18:44Speaker 2: reaction to what I say is about a second and
- 18:47Speaker 2: a half later.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I hear him, and then I hear a very very very.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Faint echo of him a second later of Daniel. Yes, okay,
- 18:58Speaker 4: your reaction to actually.
- 18:59Speaker 3: I think I think both of you. Let me get
- 19:01Speaker 3: a let me get a mike check from.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Daniel, Hello, Hello, check one two, I got it, and then.
- 19:09Speaker 3: I got it again. Let me get a mike check
- 19:11Speaker 3: from uh strong Stash Hello, Hello.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Yeah, there's no echo on you, but Daniel, I get
- 19:20Speaker 4: I get you, and then like a good second or
- 19:23Speaker 4: two you reset without the podcast.
- 19:26Speaker 1: I think, so yeah, because it's all it's all on
- 19:29Speaker 1: the show. So I'll come out and then I'll come
- 19:31Speaker 1: back in. Okay, all right, just be weird.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Now he's gone.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Introducing trek Cast deep Space Mine.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Oh boy.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Yeah, so just so everyone knows, we got we got
- 19:52Speaker 4: no sound effects right now, there's no bumpers.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Just stand these two dudes.
- 19:57Speaker 1: That's that's weird.
- 19:59Speaker 3: It is weird.
- 20:00Speaker 1: It is weird. Yeah, I don't know what to do.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Yeah, hey we were lost.
- 20:12Speaker 1: There were no intros, no sound effects. Yeah, we didn't
- 20:16Speaker 1: hit all what part of the show we were?
- 20:18Speaker 3: He said, the nerdiest thing ever, and like no graphic
- 20:21Speaker 3: came up.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I know alarm better now though.
- 20:27Speaker 3: I don't know. Give me a mic check.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Check one to check one.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Two, perfect, okay, okay, give me a mic check.
- 20:36Speaker 1: What oh you? Okay? Yeah, well hold on, let's see.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I was I'm not. I've tested how you sound. I'm
- 20:42Speaker 1: testing your reaction type to me.
- 20:44Speaker 3: That's right.
- 20:45Speaker 1: It took me a moment. Okay, it took me a moment,
- 20:48Speaker 1: but I'm here.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Okay, say the number I say right after I say it,
- 20:52Speaker 2: one seven o one.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Okay, okay, we're good. All right, Okay, now that we
- 20:59Speaker 1: got all the technical all out of the way.
- 21:01Speaker 2: All right, we ready to start recording the show. Welcome
- 21:03Speaker 2: to Gas everybody.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Oh man, that's right, all right.
- 21:07Speaker 3: You know, I think this episode of truck Ass is
- 21:09Speaker 3: a five.
- 21:13Speaker 1: It totally is. Okay, I'm curious to see what your
- 21:19Speaker 1: problems were with the episode and if they're the sack
- 21:21Speaker 1: and white.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Yeah, well, you know that was a big problem. This
- 21:25Speaker 4: was a gimmick. This was a gimmick episode. They wanted
- 21:29Speaker 4: to shoot a black and white episode, so they so
- 21:32Speaker 4: they came up with a reason for it.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I don't hate the reason, but it's thin.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Okay, but I wouldn't hate okay, yeah it is thin.
- 21:43Speaker 4: I wouldn't hate the reason so much if they didn't also,
- 21:53Speaker 4: Oh sorry, yeah, you're felt felt a cough coming on.
- 21:56Speaker 4: I needed to mute that. I didn't want to share
- 21:58Speaker 4: it with the world. Instead, I'll just talk about.
- 22:00Speaker 1: It with the world. Yeah.
- 22:02Speaker 3: But they also like made this planet look like everything
- 22:08Speaker 3: should be in black and white.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, they did do that.
- 22:13Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 22:14Speaker 4: So the style of dress mm hmmm. They were like
- 22:18Speaker 4: blimps flying around. It was like steam punkish.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:23Speaker 4: The bar was straight out of Casablanca. The clothes they
- 22:27Speaker 4: were wearing the Nazi allegory. You know, this is obviously
- 22:31Speaker 4: supposed to be France during you know, during the World
- 22:36Speaker 4: War Two.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Yeah, and I don't know, I don't know what species.
- 22:46Speaker 2: And tell Chad to keep it down.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Yeah, oh you can hear that? Yeah, sorry, it was
- 22:51Speaker 3: so that.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 22:55Speaker 4: It's it's like they wanted to they wanted to do
- 22:58Speaker 4: a black and white episode, so they just threw a
- 23:01Speaker 4: bunch of stuff together to make a black and white episode.
- 23:05Speaker 3: I don't know, I can't.
- 23:07Speaker 4: I can't really put my finger on it. But but
- 23:11Speaker 4: I mean, it took me three sittings to get through
- 23:13Speaker 4: the show, and the final sitting, which was an hour ago.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I was on my phone half the time.
- 23:23Speaker 1: I what about you, Scott, what was your issues with it?
- 23:29Speaker 1: My I kept.
- 23:32Speaker 2: The thing that took me out of it was having
- 23:41Speaker 2: you know, it's just out of all the whole universe
- 23:45Speaker 2: is bound to be somebody that looks just like you. Yeah,
- 23:49Speaker 2: maybe not that much like you, other than identical twins.
- 23:56Speaker 2: I have never been confused about anybody who looked a
- 24:00Speaker 2: lot like another person. There's nobody on the face of
- 24:03Speaker 2: the planet, unless Dan, you have an identical twin. There
- 24:06Speaker 2: is nobody on the face of the planet that somebody
- 24:09Speaker 2: could sit down in your chair right there, start the
- 24:12Speaker 2: podcast and I'd be like, oh, hi, Dan, how's it going.
- 24:15Speaker 2: That would fool me. I mean, not a chance at all.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Right that that for me, was the big issue is
- 24:27Speaker 1: it didn't. Okay, so Una looks exactly like this lady. Okay,
- 24:32Speaker 1: I can accept that. I think in stringwriting you get
- 24:35Speaker 1: one just a crazy coincidence, but anything more than that
- 24:40Speaker 1: you lose the thread.
- 24:41Speaker 7: Right.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Yeah, so they had the one, They had the one
- 24:44Speaker 1: where Okay, she looks exactly like this lady and people
- 24:47Speaker 1: confuse her for her. But everyone she interacted with would
- 24:52Speaker 1: have instantly been able to tell she doesn't behave like her,
- 24:55Speaker 1: she doesn't sound like her, she doesn't you know, know
- 24:58Speaker 1: the things that she's supposed to.
- 25:00Speaker 4: You know.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Then we never do a situation where hey, let's try
- 25:05Speaker 1: to find out more information about the person I'm pretending
- 25:07Speaker 1: to be. Yeah, you know, try to get some background information.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Never get that, you know.
- 25:12Speaker 4: So this, this would would have been plausible if this
- 25:16Speaker 4: was like a pre industrial society where they don't have
- 25:22Speaker 4: photography and this and this woman died a year and
- 25:25Speaker 4: a half ago, right, so all you have is fading
- 25:29Speaker 4: memories of what she looks like. That would have been plausible.
- 25:33Speaker 4: But you know, they got force fields and you know
- 25:38Speaker 4: all this technology, I D scanners.
- 25:44Speaker 3: No, you're not mistaken Yeah, her for someone, you know, it's.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Well, it wouldn't. I d scanners, especially with their level
- 25:52Speaker 1: of technology, do like a DNA scan. They're not gonna
- 25:55Speaker 1: fake that. Yeah, I don't know.
- 25:58Speaker 3: You know.
- 25:59Speaker 4: It also took me out that the scenes that took
- 26:04Speaker 4: place back on the Enterprise were also in black and white.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:09Speaker 4: I feel like those those should have been in color.
- 26:12Speaker 4: The Enterprise should have been outside the sphere of influence
- 26:17Speaker 4: of whatever it was that was doing this, or.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Even if it was protected it from them.
- 26:24Speaker 4: So yeah, yeah, you know, and and that, and I
- 26:30Speaker 4: don't like Star Trek in black and white. Star Trek
- 26:32Speaker 4: was original Star Trek, which this is.
- 26:36Speaker 3: A sequel to. It's the same characters, it's the same
- 26:40Speaker 3: ship and a slightly different timeline, but it was specifically
- 26:44Speaker 3: shot the way it was, and there were specific decisions
- 26:48Speaker 3: made on costuming and sets and whatnot to take advantage
- 26:52Speaker 3: of color television. Right, it's a very bright show. To
- 26:59Speaker 3: then put it in black and white, I don't know,
- 27:03Speaker 3: doesn't do it for me.
- 27:04Speaker 2: I will say it looked having you just said that.
- 27:09Speaker 2: This sounds funny, but I thought it looked good, like
- 27:13Speaker 2: the aesthetics were cool. I didn't like the storyline or
- 27:18Speaker 2: why the aesthetics were the way that they were. But
- 27:21Speaker 2: you know, these costume guys are obviously on point. They
- 27:24Speaker 2: they're you know, Hoora always looks amazing when she's not
- 27:28Speaker 2: in uniform. She's always They always got her and and
- 27:31Speaker 2: some pretty cool stuff. They style her up pretty well.
- 27:35Speaker 2: I liked I liked the outfits. Yeah, so I will
- 27:40Speaker 2: say that's one thing I did like. You know what else,
- 27:42Speaker 2: I remember that Another thing that I did like about
- 27:45Speaker 2: this episode. I like the callback to the Klingon song
- 27:51Speaker 2: that and his old family friends saying when they got
- 27:57Speaker 2: drunk together and Wharf got out of him, what the
- 28:00Speaker 2: Klingons were doing. They were gonna attack the Credassians. And
- 28:02Speaker 2: it's the same song.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I do you understand why they couldn't just hide out
- 28:16Speaker 1: with the shuttlecraft like they said that.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Because it's a poorly written episode, that's right, But why
- 28:23Speaker 4: they would even why okay, the whole episode makes no sense.
- 28:27Speaker 4: Why they would even uh, you know, go onto the
- 28:32Speaker 4: planet makes no sense hide behind the planet if there's
- 28:35Speaker 4: a ship over there and you have to wait it
- 28:37Speaker 4: out the planet between you and the ship, right, and
- 28:43Speaker 4: that and the idea that okay, we're gonna we're gonna
- 28:47Speaker 4: enter the atmosphere, and there's there's nowhere on this planet
- 28:51Speaker 4: for us to hide. This whole planet, there's nowhere for
- 28:55Speaker 4: us to hide. We're going to sit down outside the
- 28:58Speaker 4: city and go mingle with the local what.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Yeah, what that makes no sense. That makes no sense
- 29:05Speaker 3: at all. Yeah.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Well, and then the other thing too, is like they
- 29:09Speaker 1: go out of their way to have Una say I
- 29:12Speaker 1: love the rules, I follow the rules, like that kind
- 29:15Speaker 1: of thing, and then she's the first one to break
- 29:17Speaker 1: all the rules, like.
- 29:18Speaker 3: Right, and then at this and then everyone's breaking the rules.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Yeah, you know.
- 29:23Speaker 3: In the end, in the end, you got you know,
- 29:26Speaker 3: you got Chapel who's like, yeah, it's me. I broke
- 29:29Speaker 3: the rules.
- 29:29Speaker 4: I'm I'm engaging in a major cover up. I'm uh yeah,
- 29:35Speaker 4: I'm committing a crime right now. Hey, you're my friend.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Can you please commit a crime with me? Let me
- 29:42Speaker 4: think it over, sure, let me go lie to the captain.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:46Speaker 4: And then and then they also write it in such
- 29:48Speaker 4: a way that, you know, it's a little ambiguous, but
- 29:53Speaker 4: it looks it.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Looks like he knows, he's knows that his chief of
- 29:57Speaker 3: security is lying to.
- 29:58Speaker 8: Him, and he's cool with Yeah, what what is that? Yeah,
- 30:04Speaker 8: it's crazy so trash, Yes, absolute trash.
- 30:10Speaker 1: I really feel like they sat in the writer's room
- 30:13Speaker 1: and we're like, Okay, we want to do a horrible episode.
- 30:16Speaker 1: We want to do a you know, a film noir episode,
- 30:21Speaker 1: and they just made a list. We're gonna do a
- 30:23Speaker 1: Muppets episode in a few weeks, you know. Yeah, And
- 30:29Speaker 1: that's that's how they went around it.
- 30:31Speaker 2: So Jacob City watched it Friday and fell asleep.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Yeah. What what did you think of the guy that
- 30:39Speaker 1: played Core?
- 30:42Speaker 3: So this is the same character that was on t
- 30:45Speaker 3: S and then he was on.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Nine.
- 30:49Speaker 3: Is this the one who who got like klingon Alzheimer's
- 30:52Speaker 3: at the end?
- 30:53Speaker 1: Yes, the Dahar Master.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know.
- 30:58Speaker 1: I mean it's the same one.
- 31:02Speaker 2: One of the main guys in the Unit.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, the three of them, the three Yeah.
- 31:10Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no no. The CBS showed the
- 31:13Speaker 2: Unit Special Group. Oh yeah, the actor. And I also
- 31:18Speaker 2: think he was in an episode.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Of The Flash. Yeah. I think he was in the Flash.
- 31:26Speaker 2: He was Legends of Tomorrow. Uh, I think he I
- 31:31Speaker 2: think it was a Flash Legends crossover. I think he
- 31:34Speaker 2: was an actor that played somebody that they thought could
- 31:37Speaker 2: mix with Professor Stein. Yeah.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Well, I know he was in American Gods. I looked
- 31:46Speaker 1: up his IMDb, okay, and I and I really liked
- 31:49Speaker 1: him in The American Gods. But he's just one of
- 31:52Speaker 1: these character actors that pops up in things all the time.
- 31:55Speaker 2: So yeah, it didn't seem like he was trying to
- 31:58Speaker 2: channel any of the original mm hmmm.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Yeah. And he's doing his own thing very much, so yeah,
- 32:05Speaker 1: which is fine.
- 32:07Speaker 2: But if you do like a callback to a character.
- 32:10Speaker 2: I get that the guy who's playing Kirk is not
- 32:12Speaker 2: gonna try to emulate William Shatner, right, But if you
- 32:17Speaker 2: bring back Core and you want the audience to remember
- 32:19Speaker 2: who Core is, you know, maybe a little bit of
- 32:22Speaker 2: that wild eyed kind of you know, yeah, because Core
- 32:28Speaker 2: was a little bit crazy even for a kling On,
- 32:31Speaker 2: and you know he was, I don't know, maybe bring
- 32:34Speaker 2: some of that back.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Yeah, couldn't hurt.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Nope.
- 32:40Speaker 1: All right, Well, sounds like we did not like it. No, I.
- 32:47Speaker 3: I'm really not a fan. Yeah, but one thing this
- 32:49Speaker 3: does illustrate for me. If this was nineteen.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Ninety seven and this was an episode of Voyager, they
- 33:00Speaker 4: would have just done this on the Holid Deck. Yeah,
- 33:02Speaker 4: and it and it kind of illustrates what a writing
- 33:06Speaker 4: crutch the Holi Deck became. And later in later iterations
- 33:12Speaker 4: of Star Trek, I mean, you know, and and everybody saying, oh,
- 33:17Speaker 4: it's the first black and white episode of Star Trek,
- 33:19Speaker 4: it's really not.
- 33:19Speaker 3: I mean, we got we got Tom Proton.
- 33:24Speaker 4: Right, yeah, yeah, I mean those weren't complete episodes, but
- 33:30Speaker 4: you know, there were a couple that a good portion
- 33:31Speaker 4: of the episode.
- 33:33Speaker 2: I was I spent some time trying to think of
- 33:35Speaker 2: any black and white scenes in Star Trek, and yeah,
- 33:39Speaker 2: the the what you just mentioned is there. And then
- 33:43Speaker 2: I'm I had a memory, and I was trying to
- 33:45Speaker 2: figure out what episode it was, because I remembered somebody
- 33:51Speaker 2: was only perceiving things in black and white just for
- 33:53Speaker 2: a moment, and then somebody adjusted something. It was that
- 33:55Speaker 2: episode of Next Generation where Jordie was using his implants
- 33:59Speaker 2: to control Probe on another ship and he's like, I
- 34:04Speaker 2: need more input because all I see is black and white,
- 34:07Speaker 2: and and it changed the color, and I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 34:10Speaker 2: there was another scene where he was seeing his mom.
- 34:13Speaker 2: That's right, yeah, yeah, you know what episode is not
- 34:19Speaker 2: that great when you're desperate to like look for callbacks. Yeah,
- 34:25Speaker 2: we're mentioning other episodes more than we're mentioning this episode. No,
- 34:28Speaker 2: it wasn't good. And the sad thing is we've said
- 34:31Speaker 2: it before. This is episode four of the second to
- 34:34Speaker 2: last season and we're doing ten episode seasons.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, well, hey, episode five is level five transporter accident,
- 34:46Speaker 1: So that's gotta be the puppets it is. Yeah, he's
- 34:53Speaker 1: already waving it off. You can't even talk about it.
- 34:58Speaker 2: This is the one we've this is the one we've
- 35:00Speaker 2: been talking about for a year that.
- 35:05Speaker 1: It's gonna be. Maybe it'll be like the musical episode. Yeah,
- 35:09Speaker 1: you know, I hope, I hope.
- 35:12Speaker 7: And not.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Yeah, but they've done ridiculous before, you know that, the
- 35:19Speaker 2: Vulcan episode last year and the musical episode, and it just, yeah,
- 35:27Speaker 2: I don't know what the show is trying to be.
- 35:30Speaker 1: That's a great question, because it's not strange New Worlds,
- 35:34Speaker 1: not least not exploring.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Because is it trying to be lower decks? Is it
- 35:38Speaker 2: trying to be deep face dying at its grittiest? Is it,
- 35:42Speaker 2: because it sure in the hell ain trying to be
- 35:43Speaker 2: next gen? His next gen told a bunch of good stories, right,
- 35:50Speaker 2: So I don't know what this is trying to be.
- 35:53Speaker 1: What is it trying to do is try your patients? Yes,
- 35:56Speaker 1: very much. So yeah, okay, well let's let's get the
- 36:04Speaker 1: listener feedback. We've got some voicemails that'll be fun, so
- 36:12Speaker 1: listener feedback, all right, So yeah, if you want to
- 36:18Speaker 1: join us in listener feedback, just x up in the
- 36:22Speaker 1: chat and we'll have you on. But in the meantime,
- 36:25Speaker 1: we do have some voicemails that all went away when
- 36:28Speaker 1: I walked out and I had to come back in.
- 36:31Speaker 3: So here we go.
- 36:31Speaker 1: We'll go with the first one.
- 36:34Speaker 9: He's Star Trek fans hope you're well, it's Tim here
- 36:36Speaker 9: from the South coasting that it's been a while and
- 36:40Speaker 9: I don't want I'm not commenting on the last episode
- 36:46Speaker 9: per se, but because it's not been worth it. I've
- 36:49Speaker 9: hated this season, right, you were talking about our Star
- 36:53Speaker 9: Trek's doing a different genre with each episode, and yeah,
- 36:57Speaker 9: you're right. The first episode was Star Trek. I actually
- 36:59Speaker 9: quite joined the first episode of this season and then
- 37:03Speaker 9: so the next genre was shit. The one after that
- 37:06Speaker 9: was followed by bollocks, and I expect this week after
- 37:10Speaker 9: it's going to be ass.
- 37:13Speaker 1: I've hated it.
- 37:14Speaker 3: I'll tell you what.
- 37:15Speaker 9: The one, the horror one, I stopped watching three two
- 37:18Speaker 9: thirds of the way through.
- 37:20Speaker 3: I just stopped watching. I can't deal with this.
- 37:22Speaker 9: And I've never ever done that with any single Star
- 37:24Speaker 9: Trek episode ever. I've always watched it to the end,
- 37:28Speaker 9: but I couldn't be bothered. And I nearly did that
- 37:30Speaker 9: with this one. That last week. The dude wears my
- 37:33Speaker 9: hangover absolute nonsense. So I just wanted to send a
- 37:37Speaker 9: message to say, hey, I'm still a live boys and
- 37:39Speaker 9: I'm still listening and I love you all.
- 37:40Speaker 3: I want to see pictures of your.
- 37:41Speaker 9: New dog, Dan.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Dan.
- 37:45Speaker 9: And yeah, oh, I've got my Voyager documentary. It arrived
- 37:52Speaker 9: last week. I was a backer for him and it
- 37:55Speaker 9: was during COVID, and I think it was during the
- 37:58Speaker 9: first COVID. So it's been going on five six years,
- 38:01Speaker 9: not six seven, but five or six years. And I
- 38:05Speaker 9: put fifty dollars to it back in the day. We
- 38:08Speaker 9: finally got it and I watched it in a night
- 38:10Speaker 9: and I loved it. Now I need to buy the
- 38:13Speaker 9: what we left behind. I need I've seen it, but
- 38:16Speaker 9: I need to buy it on Blu Ray because I'll
- 38:20Speaker 9: tell you what, that's been much better than this episode
- 38:22Speaker 9: this season of Star Bollocks.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Anyway, have a good day, lads. I'm still listening, and
- 38:28Speaker 1: I'll try and do a voice record.
- 38:31Speaker 10: For the next time.
- 38:32Speaker 5: That's his bike.
- 38:33Speaker 3: There you go, Star Bollocks, bollocks. I'm adding that to
- 38:40Speaker 3: my vocabulary. I'm just going to say bollocks.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Well that's a pretty great one time to time. Yeah,
- 38:46Speaker 1: all right, and then we got one more voicemail, so
- 38:49Speaker 1: let me get that going. Here we go, so.
- 38:52Speaker 6: Strange the World's episode four.
- 38:55Speaker 2: That was all right.
- 38:58Speaker 6: I was hoping Core and and Bega would throw hands.
- 39:03Speaker 6: That'd be, uh something cool to see since he's a
- 39:06Speaker 6: future darhar or master and whatnot.
- 39:09Speaker 11: Overall, the black and white visual they explained from the
- 39:14Speaker 11: sun its radiation was pretty cool, but you think they'd
- 39:18Speaker 11: still have color. Wants to shut the blast doors and
- 39:20Speaker 11: inside the starship. So but other than that, morally gray
- 39:25Speaker 11: and black.
- 39:25Speaker 6: And white definitely felt like a sixties episode.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Okay, well there you go. Yeah, uh sure if that's
- 39:42Speaker 1: what he got it out, but you can say about it.
- 39:44Speaker 1: He's right, it felt like a sixties episode. It wasn't. Yeah,
- 39:49Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, and of course you can join
- 39:52Speaker 1: us all on social media. We're on Facebook, We're on YouTube, Twitter,
- 39:57Speaker 1: TikTok LinkedIn, not LinkedIn, Instagram, don't LinkedIn whatever.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Well you don't have this isn't on your LinkedIn profile
- 40:07Speaker 2: that you're a co host of a Star Trek but
- 40:10Speaker 2: actually a Star Trek podcaster.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, yeah, because my LinkedIn is geared towards media,
- 40:15Speaker 1: so yes, it is on there. Okay, yeah, okay, all right.
- 40:20Speaker 2: I think some of my profiles I ingest. I'm I
- 40:24Speaker 2: just say, yeah, I'm like the co host of Star
- 40:26Speaker 2: Trek podcast.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Nice nerds. Yeah, all right, we got some we got
- 40:34Speaker 1: some guys waiting.
- 40:35Speaker 2: I wore my Trek cast shirt at the reunion yesterday.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Oh nice, nice. Yeah all right, Well we got Jacob
- 40:44Speaker 1: uh huh oh yeah, represent yeah, represent Jacob, and Jazz
- 40:48Speaker 1: is waiting, so let's let's bring him on. We'll bring
- 40:51Speaker 1: on Jacob first. Oh Jacob, Oh no, he froze. All right, Jacob,
- 40:59Speaker 1: you'll have to pop out and bought back in. Uh So,
- 41:02Speaker 1: in the meantime, we'll get jazz Biz because he's still
- 41:04Speaker 1: moving around the celestial temple there he is.
- 41:07Speaker 2: Hey, jazz Biz, what's up, Chaz biz.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Would you would you think you like the black and white?
- 41:15Speaker 10: It took me. You're in a half sittings, I would
- 41:20Speaker 10: say to watch this episode. Oh no, yeah, I try
- 41:25Speaker 10: to watch it late. It was a Thursday night, and
- 41:28Speaker 10: then I was like, I'm just going to bed. As
- 41:33Speaker 10: I noticed I was playing on my phone, I was like,
- 41:35Speaker 10: I don't have to rewind it and rewatch it because
- 41:37Speaker 10: I'm as major plot lines. And then I watched it
- 41:40Speaker 10: again and I was like, no, it's just a bad episode.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Sorry.
- 41:44Speaker 10: You know, it was hard to follow, and I think
- 41:47Speaker 10: the ship, you know, the Enterprise, should at least been
- 41:50Speaker 10: in color.
- 41:52Speaker 1: YEP.
- 41:52Speaker 10: I was like, yeah, they should have gone back and
- 41:54Speaker 10: forth or something, or done the first part of the
- 41:57Speaker 10: episode in color. And then when they launched that shut,
- 42:00Speaker 10: all of a sudden, you see the color suck out.
- 42:02Speaker 10: That would have been kind of neat.
- 42:04Speaker 1: So well, they if I remember right, they even say like, oh,
- 42:08Speaker 1: the whole because Ohorah says something along the lines and like, oh,
- 42:12Speaker 1: it's hard to tell. I can't see these screens with
- 42:15Speaker 1: black and white. And then they say, well, let's put
- 42:17Speaker 1: on the shuttles. That should help, but nothing changes.
- 42:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it was so it was so weird.
- 42:25Speaker 1: It strange and not a good way.
- 42:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:28Speaker 2: I did notice that the the opening credits have changed
- 42:31Speaker 2: quite a bit.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, I mean it makes no sense.
- 42:39Speaker 2: It's like the opening credits to Trek Cast. It's like
- 42:41Speaker 2: it makes absolutely no sense. What's right, that's right, Yeah,
- 42:46Speaker 2: that's right. Yeah, all right, Well, hopefully next week is
- 42:52Speaker 2: better with the puppets.
- 42:54Speaker 10: Oh please please? Yeah, right now, if you rank the season,
- 43:00Speaker 10: there's only one decent episode and that was maybe the
- 43:02Speaker 10: first episode, right, and after that it's just gone downhill.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Yeah. And that wasn't an incredible episode. That was just
- 43:09Speaker 1: a decent episode, Yeah, exactly. And that's not an episode
- 43:13Speaker 1: that we would watch over and over and over again. Well,
- 43:16Speaker 1: and the funny thing is is like when they did
- 43:18Speaker 1: that one, the the reactions were almost universally we love it, yes,
- 43:24Speaker 1: and now and now all the other episodes, like I
- 43:26Speaker 1: get they want to try different things, but it's not
- 43:29Speaker 1: working because you get a fifty result at best, you know,
- 43:34Speaker 1: And it's.
- 43:36Speaker 10: Like worst Nurse Chapel and worst Pike this season. It's
- 43:39Speaker 10: like and they're sitting in the background and they're.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Lying and being lied to.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:45Speaker 10: Yeah, it's really weird, do you guys. I know I've
- 43:51Speaker 10: said this before, but and Bega, I have a hard
- 43:54Speaker 10: time when he talks.
- 43:56Speaker 4: Yes, he's difficult to he's difficult to understand. He has
- 43:59Speaker 4: an acts and he has a raspy voice, and he's
- 44:01Speaker 4: soft spoken.
- 44:02Speaker 10: Yes, very soft spoken, because he always talked really lightly
- 44:06Speaker 10: and like you have to like listen.
- 44:10Speaker 1: It's like he's great in Dune because that fits that.
- 44:13Speaker 10: That, Yeah, he's great and Dune. Well, okay, speaking of Dune,
- 44:18Speaker 10: they had a planet on Dune that was in black
- 44:20Speaker 10: and white on the sequel, so oh yeah two because
- 44:25Speaker 10: the hearkening planet was in black and white because there's
- 44:28Speaker 10: no color.
- 44:30Speaker 2: And you know, I see the sequel to Dune, and
- 44:33Speaker 2: the reason why is because I saw the first one.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Okay, fair enough.
- 44:40Speaker 4: That's usually that's usually the reason you see a sequel
- 44:43Speaker 4: because you saw the first one.
- 44:44Speaker 3: But in this case, yeah, opposite is true, interactly.
- 44:49Speaker 10: Yeah, well you got the complete story with part two, so.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I was I didn't want the first story, so
- 44:59Speaker 2: I I I'm not a Dune fan. I haven't seen
- 45:02Speaker 2: the original. I I you know, I like the actors
- 45:07Speaker 2: in it. The new one, you know, La is great
- 45:12Speaker 2: Zandia is in it and Missus spider Man.
- 45:17Speaker 10: Uh fans going.
- 45:21Speaker 3: She's not Missus spider Man, he's mister Zandiah.
- 45:25Speaker 1: Yeah exactly.
- 45:26Speaker 3: Well, yeah, she is a lot more successful than he is.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Yeah right, everything non Spider Man that he's been in
- 45:34Speaker 4: his kind of tanked the last few years.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's true. Yeah, I can't wait for that.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Dunes Day don't know if you guys, uh or Doomsday.
- 45:44Speaker 1: If you saw the new trailer, oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 45:48Speaker 1: that looks good. I'm hopeful that it's not crap.
- 45:52Speaker 3: Vision Quest looks good too.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Yeah, Quest looks good. And Lantern starts.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Lantern starts today.
- 46:00Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, I.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Believe so yeah, yeah, Okay, I've been looking forward to
- 46:05Speaker 2: that one for a long time because I see you
- 46:07Speaker 2: guys the other shows coming up, so we.
- 46:10Speaker 1: May be interviewed, we may review Lanterns instead that yeah, yeast.
- 46:19Speaker 3: Episode of Star Trek this week, but we're not going
- 46:21Speaker 3: to talk about it.
- 46:21Speaker 1: We're not gonna do it.
- 46:22Speaker 10: We're talking about.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Well in the off season. We always do stuff like
- 46:25Speaker 2: that in the off season. Maybe we can turn uh
- 46:28Speaker 2: what is it eight episodes for Lanterns, so maybe we
- 46:31Speaker 2: can do like one through four in an episode, and
- 46:34Speaker 2: then five through eight in another episode.
- 46:37Speaker 1: After Stranger World is done, it'll be what what was it?
- 46:41Speaker 1: When the Mandalorian first came out, we'd be like, all right,
- 46:43Speaker 1: here's it, here's Discovery, But let's talk about what we
- 46:46Speaker 1: really want to talk about, right Yeah?
- 46:50Speaker 3: Well, I mean we always think the Discovery was on.
- 46:52Speaker 4: There were times when Discovery in the Orville or yeah,
- 46:55Speaker 4: we're running and you guys are talking more about the Orville.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Yeah, because it was it was better start right yeah, and.
- 47:03Speaker 10: We'll probably dead and it was like, no, you just
- 47:06Speaker 10: had their showrunners.
- 47:07Speaker 2: So what do the fans want to hear? I mean,
- 47:10Speaker 2: do you do you guys want us to do like
- 47:13Speaker 2: when they run concurrently? Do you want us to do
- 47:14Speaker 2: a quick recap of the Star Trek show and then
- 47:16Speaker 2: move on to like whatever else is popular, or do
- 47:19Speaker 2: you want us to wait until the season's ended and
- 47:21Speaker 2: then we can do it in the off season.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's a good idea.
- 47:23Speaker 2: You know, Facebook group and Instagram, you know, let's yeah,
- 47:26Speaker 2: let us let's get going. Let's let's yeah, let us know.
- 47:29Speaker 3: He keeps he keeps saying off season like like it's
- 47:32Speaker 3: a sports reference, that's right, but he doesn't realize that.
- 47:36Speaker 3: What are we on episode four? Four?
- 47:38Speaker 4: We have when we have ten this season? Yeah right, yeah, yeah,
- 47:42Speaker 4: six six weeks. I'm a free agent, buddy.
- 47:44Speaker 3: Hey, negotiate my car.
- 47:48Speaker 10: I got a perfect idea, Dan for your off season.
- 47:52Speaker 10: You take a photo of your dog, put some hair
- 47:55Speaker 10: on there, and put the Chad's background with Trek casts
- 47:58Speaker 10: in the back and Chad's back.
- 48:00Speaker 2: There we go.
- 48:01Speaker 1: There you go. I like it, There you go.
- 48:03Speaker 10: He's just not mute the whole time.
- 48:05Speaker 2: So yeah, I do the pack reviews. You could do
- 48:11Speaker 2: a Chad review. Yeah, yeah, where Chad just sits there.
- 48:19Speaker 1: That'd be funny. I'm just waiting for him to start
- 48:23Speaker 1: petting Chad like like mister Bigglesworth with Doctor Evil.
- 48:27Speaker 3: I thought about bringing him on today, but not yet.
- 48:31Speaker 3: He's still learning his manners.
- 48:34Speaker 1: You gotta bring my suit. We need to be properly.
- 48:37Speaker 3: No, I will, I'll bring him on. I'll bring them
- 48:38Speaker 3: on soon. I put I just put some pictures up
- 48:41Speaker 3: in the in the Facebook groupe.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Okay, all right, well we got Jacob finally up and running,
- 48:47Speaker 1: so let's let's get to him. Thanks, all right, thanks,
- 48:52Speaker 1: all right, and here's let's bring on Jacob. Now that
- 48:55Speaker 1: it's working here, he is.
- 49:01Speaker 12: Right, uh, talking about last week. I was out of
- 49:04Speaker 12: town and I was busy, but then comedy episode wasn't
- 49:07Speaker 12: really it was all right with a good boson, It.
- 49:10Speaker 3: Was all right.
- 49:11Speaker 1: What do you think of this one? Though? The black
- 49:12Speaker 1: and white?
- 49:14Speaker 5: I couldn't even finish half of the episode. I fell asleep.
- 49:19Speaker 3: Yeah, he too took me. It took me several sittings
- 49:23Speaker 3: to get through it.
- 49:25Speaker 5: My brother's here with me.
- 49:26Speaker 12: He wants to say hey to y'all. First time on
- 49:28Speaker 12: the cast. He's a huge star Trek fan.
- 49:31Speaker 3: Hello this month.
- 49:34Speaker 5: Been watching My Man in the eighties?
- 49:39Speaker 12: Absolutely, Yeah, there were big, old cut guys.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Man.
- 49:45Speaker 5: But yeah, what did y'all think about the new episode?
- 49:47Speaker 5: Honestly it was rough man?
- 49:50Speaker 2: Yeah, rough Yeah, Dad, tell us how you actually feel out?
- 49:54Speaker 2: He wants you to be honest.
- 49:58Speaker 1: Yeah, we got next week the.
- 50:00Speaker 5: Jacob puppet episode. Next week, they got a puppet episode
- 50:05Speaker 5: week and they have to drink for that one.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, drink or whatever's legal in your state.
- 50:14Speaker 3: I'm I'm morbidly curious.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Yeah, me too. It took the words right out of
- 50:22Speaker 1: my mouth. Yep, morbid curious.
- 50:25Speaker 4: I got it.
- 50:27Speaker 1: I gotta predictions see where we're at. I don't want
- 50:32Speaker 1: to pay the money.
- 50:33Speaker 5: It's going to be a very interesting how they do this.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I don't have yeah amount, I don't need to.
- 50:41Speaker 5: Got it, got to see it. It's gonna be I have.
- 50:45Speaker 5: I have no words for this episode, honestly.
- 50:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 50:49Speaker 1: It was not good.
- 50:51Speaker 5: Black and white episodes don't need to be in twenty
- 50:53Speaker 5: twenty six.
- 50:54Speaker 1: No, no, or at least like like the guys were saying,
- 50:59Speaker 1: maybe when they're back on the Enterprise, it's in color
- 51:01Speaker 1: and then you can pop in. Don't make it the
- 51:04Speaker 1: episode because it gets tiring.
- 51:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:06Speaker 12: Yeah, like that's like you said the other earlier than
- 51:09Speaker 12: the episode, it should have been like a holid episode
- 51:13Speaker 12: from the nineties. Yeah, Captain Proton where they go back.
- 51:18Speaker 5: Yeah, that would make more sense.
- 51:24Speaker 3: Yeah, some of my fa.
- 51:27Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, man, the last.
- 51:30Speaker 12: Night's episode or the other another night's episode was this.
- 51:34Speaker 12: I couldn't finish it, like I said, and I'll try
- 51:36Speaker 12: my best eventually.
- 51:38Speaker 3: Yeah, don't kill yourself, buddy.
- 51:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what happened. It's okay, it's okay.
- 51:45Speaker 5: It's the pumping episode being we're bringing more.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Human hopefully, hopefully it's better.
- 51:50Speaker 5: So yeah, yeah, we'll see we'll see yeah, al live on.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you so much. Take care all right, yeah, okay,
- 52:02Speaker 1: so there we go. Yeah all right, well go one
- 52:07Speaker 1: more next week. Hopefully it's good.
- 52:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 52:10Speaker 3: So is lanterns out now or it comes out tonight?
- 52:13Speaker 1: What's tonight? Like? Typically it's nine o'clock Eastern is when
- 52:16Speaker 1: they drop on HBO.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Wait that's for HBO stuff. Okay, yeah, alright, so so
- 52:22Speaker 2: I won't be able to watch it until tomorrow.
- 52:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I've got to shoot I gotta go drive by
