- 0:00Hello and welcome to another episode of the Christian Reef
- 0:02podcast. Part two of my interview with
- 0:05Ryan Keith. Thank you.
- 0:07I hope you enjoy it to make you do my editing.
- 0:14We definitely definitely could not, but I'm the same as you
- 0:17like before the before the podcast, I did.
- 0:21I went to the gym and so basically it's just all water,
- 0:24you know. All right.
- 0:27Yeah, you do? Yeah.
- 0:29I'll tell you something. I've discovered recently about
- 0:31Jim and I don't know if this works for other people but like
- 0:35I've discovered if I eat like a lot the night before.
- 0:40Yeah. And then go the next day like
- 0:41earliest like 11 12, I suddenly have way more energy and
- 0:45strength and then I'm able to do loads of weights and stuff.
- 0:47So I'm in like my happy Zone. Whereas if I if I leave the Gap,
- 0:51long enough, I just have no strength.
- 0:52So I guess it makes sense. I don't know.
- 0:55Yeah, because that's where are your energy?
- 0:56All your calories are coming from, so your calories, or
- 0:59energy. Absolutely.
- 1:00But that's why a lot of people do like fasting, you know,
- 1:02before they go to the gym, if you're trying to lose weight
- 1:05because then, you know, you're just burning all your calories.
- 1:09So yeah, I get that. That makes, yeah, that makes a
- 1:12lot of sense, but no, but to your point of just staying
- 1:16humble, you know, like you said, I mean, you just ultimately have
- 1:20to Stay humble. So let me ask you also on
- 1:24Tick-Tock, which video did she see?
- 1:26I don't know, I have no idea. I didn't ask, I didn't want to
- 1:30know really. Ya know, cuz like you know it's
- 1:34just awkward. You know, do you?
- 1:37I mean I'm take that because I don't personally have ticker.
- 1:39I had it for a while but then I got off of it because I was just
- 1:42like this is just too much. You don't mean it just just too
- 1:46much stuff you know around here on take that to It talks while I
- 1:52was just like, okay I'm just going to get off of it but what
- 1:54do you usually post on your on your Tick Tock.
- 1:57So got three accounts I've got one for the podcast Clips one
- 2:02that's like my mess around used Tick-Tock quartz intended for
- 2:05and jump on the trends and Reach people.
- 2:08And then I got my main account which is more for like self
- 2:12tapes music songs, stuff like that.
- 2:16And that's how I was as I was split out, really, and it kind
- 2:18of works. It's cool.
- 2:20I mean, I purely use it to interact with people to spread
- 2:24awareness and to do. I have fun with it and stuff.
- 2:28But I look at it as an advertising tool like to promote
- 2:31myself to reach people to, you know, it's why I do everything
- 2:36that I do online. It's free media that you can use
- 2:39to promote yourself and Reach people.
- 2:40And you know who knows where that could lead, who knows, who
- 2:43you could end up working with them, It's highly unlikely that,
- 2:47you know, this stuff will ever lead to me getting any acting
- 2:49opportunities, but you don't know, you never know.
- 2:53Yeah, you just don't know. And to be fair, it's it seems
- 2:57that more and more people and institutions are taking note of
- 3:02platforms, such as Tick, Tock, and taking it more seriously and
- 3:04using it. So, I mean, maybe it's a matter
- 3:07of time before the acting industry starts taking it
- 3:09seriously, but I mean, but then again, I don't know.
- 3:12I've had a lot of rejections lately, which Maybe just
- 3:16happens. Nothing, I know, I know, but
- 3:18it's interesting react like projections.
- 3:20Like, it's not just like, oh sorry, we're not interested that
- 3:23I can deal with right? Yeah.
- 3:25But I'll give you a good example.
- 3:26Do you have a website called Spotlight in the US or not?
- 3:31We might, I just say I personally haven't heard of it,
- 3:33but we believe might. But go ahead.
- 3:35Let's see. There's one here in the UK
- 3:36called Spotlight and it costs a bunch of money to get on there.
- 3:41And also, there's like a whole process where they review all of
- 3:45your acting credits. It's and see if you are good
- 3:47enough to be on this site and everything, right?
- 3:49And the parrot parrot with his wife heard apparently in the
- 3:52industry. It's like that's what the least
- 3:55the UK directors. Look at and take seriously.
- 3:58So if you don't have a cast a spotlight profile then like, who
- 4:02cares, we don't care about you kind of attitude, not
- 4:04completely, but that's what the information I've been given.
- 4:07And I got an A I got an email back from someone and they were
- 4:11like oh do you have a spotlight profile?
- 4:13We can't find you and I said, oh no.
- 4:15No, sorry, I haven't got one yet, but I've got an IMDb with
- 4:18credits. I've got a backstage profile of
- 4:20got website. I've got loads of examples of,
- 4:23you know, I've got lots of examples of why you should
- 4:25employ me. They just bluntly just turned
- 4:29around and said, oh, we only work with Spotlight actors, and
- 4:33I just screenshot it. And I was like, cool, nice one.
- 4:38I'm gonna collect all of these one day and if I ever make it,
- 4:42I'll just make a collage of every single rejection I ever
- 4:44got. Like, look what everyone missed,
- 4:47look at everyone missed, but look where I'm at now.
- 4:50I mean it's, you know what? It comes down to.
- 4:53This like being rejected, that's fine, that's part of life,
- 4:56right? But how you deliver that
- 4:58message? That's totally up to you.
- 5:01That's. Yeah, you can be a jackass about
- 5:04it. You can be nasty about it or you
- 5:05can be really nice about it. I've had, you know, I've had
- 5:08many many really respectful rejection letters recently that
- 5:13have said, looks like any everything from like all.
- 5:14Hey, really, really sorry. Sorry, like we're quite full
- 5:17right now. We're not working with anyone
- 5:18else, but thank you. And I'm like, yeah, that's
- 5:20great. You know, they did someone took
- 5:22the time out of their day to tell me that to let me know and
- 5:25they were respectful about it. And I respond in due course, I'm
- 5:28like hey thank you so much for picking searing me and thank you
- 5:31for your time and wishing you all the best, you know, and
- 5:34that's cool. Yeah, no, that makes.
- 5:36I think that makes a huge difference.
- 5:37Sure. That they took that time as
- 5:39opposed to a versus just not saying anything back at all.
- 5:43Well, I mean, I understand that too like that, that Okay, if you
- 5:48don't have the time to respond, it's understandable.
- 5:50And then think about how many hundreds of thousands of people
- 5:52applying Janome like to get to even get a response is a big
- 5:55deal. That's the way I looked at it,
- 5:58but people that are rude or like, just crappy.
- 6:02I mean, it's I don't know, I don't think it's necessary.
- 6:05Like, for instance, I've got something recently with this
- 6:08company where they were like, oh yeah, we'd be happy to work with
- 6:10you, but are you just don't have the numbers screenshot?
- 6:14Thanks for that. Appreciate that.
- 6:17You mean like the numbers like online?
- 6:20Yeah, yeah. Like this is a company, that's
- 6:26the thing. 70 companies and institutions are quite that to
- 6:28like, oh, you don't have five, we don't have a hundred thousand
- 6:32so you're nothing. You're nothing, that's exactly
- 6:36exactly it. When you brought up Spotlight, I
- 6:38promise that was the. That was what I was going to
- 6:40bring up. Is that a lot of these
- 6:42companies? Now they are taking Tick, Tock
- 6:44and Instagram. All this stuff so serious
- 6:47because they feel that it's a marked its marketing, right?
- 6:50If you have 100,000 people following you, you know.
- 6:53They're mentally, they're thinking, okay, well, if we put
- 6:56this person in a movie x amount of, you know, and they have
- 6:59their percentages and they, you know, they have their Market
- 7:01people that do this for a living.
- 7:03So, you know, this kind of stuff.
- 7:05They're like, x amount of people are going to probably watch this
- 7:08movie or watch this commercial or, you know, by this brand.
- 7:11And so, you know, that's what you see at the bottom of these.
- 7:14If you have Followers, you know, apply if you don't don't apply.
- 7:18You know those were the industry is going to have you seen that?
- 7:21That because I've not seen that specifically, but I haven't seen
- 7:24things looking for X amount of thousands, of followers looking.
- 7:29So yeah, it's like, yes, like, oh you don't apply.
- 7:32If you don't have 5,000 followers or something exactly
- 7:34and they won't say don't apply. But they'll say looking for X
- 7:38amount of thousands of followers, do you have - yeah
- 7:42following a huge Instagram following, send us your social
- 7:45media. Yeah.
- 7:46And you know but yeah. Oh yeah.
- 7:49That's where these companies are going because it's it's free
- 7:53marketing for the company and I mean not free, you know, you
- 7:56pay, you pay like a little Tick, Tock or Instagram, or whatever
- 7:59you pay them some money. But the money that they're
- 8:01expecting to get back off of that investment, you know, for x
- 8:05amount of followers that people have.
- 8:07Yeah. It's I mean it's easy and then
- 8:10from Tick-Tock or an instagramer, you know, if you
- 8:13have X amount of fog, where's now you can go promote yourself
- 8:15anywhere and companies will believe that you are your gold.
- 8:20Mine, it's completely changed. The world is completely changed
- 8:23now. Now everything is social media
- 8:26and exposure experienced. How many people know you So you
- 8:31know, I I know I get it. I completely get it.
- 8:36Now I haven't heard of the spotlight thing.
- 8:38How much does it cost? How much is Spotlight?
- 8:40Usually, I think it's like 300 pounds a year or something.
- 8:44I don't know. Something.
- 8:46I mean, look, it might not sound like a lot.
- 8:48I think there might even be a monthly thing but I don't like
- 8:52it. Also kind of made me think like
- 8:53well what credits means something as well, because they
- 8:56rejected me because I didn't have Have enough.
- 9:01My credits won't reputable or something.
- 9:03But what I've got on IMDb is I've been featured on a few
- 9:07podcasts. I've been featured in audio
- 9:09dramas, the lead in a short film, that had a fairly sizable
- 9:15production and I'm a supporting artists in another production
- 9:18that had a big production as well budget as well.
- 9:23So it's not the biggest thing ever but it's something you
- 9:25know, I would have thought that meant something.
- 9:27I mean I've got other credits which are uncredited which Would
- 9:30help but they won't ever get recognized.
- 9:32Like for instance I walked I was in ten it but it won't ever get
- 9:36given as a credit because I'm not in it and have any speaking
- 9:39and that's the thing I have found as well unless you have a
- 9:42speaking line apparently you don't get credits.
- 9:44Yeah. Yeah that's it.
- 9:46Yeah exactly. Unless you add something to it
- 9:49verbally. Yeah.
- 9:50No one cares. That's not true.
- 9:52Yeah, if you're in a movie try to even just to get one line in
- 9:56just like no because then you might get a comeback.
- 10:00Something. And then you know and then you
- 10:02put that on your real and your whole you know whether your
- 10:05editing software your real just basically looks like this
- 10:08because you have as know he's me Mission Impossible.
- 10:13No brilliant. Bigger, the second brilliant.
- 10:17Now your it was a now, your union.
- 10:19Now, you can get on Spotlight and now your whole career just
- 10:22launched from that whole know. You never know, man.
- 10:25You never said. Less right careers have launched
- 10:32for a lot less. And, and speaking of like
- 10:35everything that you see now, I mean it's I think that's why
- 10:40because you brought it up about how you know, being famous was
- 10:42easy because there's so it because it's so.
- 10:46So there's so much saturation now.
- 10:48I think there's so much saturation with social media
- 10:50because of how you can go on social media.
- 10:53You can do something go viral and now you're famous and it can
- 10:56be something stupid. You go viral.
- 10:58Now you're you know, all it takes is that one video or all
- 11:02it takes. Is that one encounter with
- 11:04somebody that you just posted online.
- 11:07You know, everything is online and it'll make you go famous and
- 11:10so, oh, so let me ask you. Do you think that now because it
- 11:15is so easy to be recognized, you know, from a viral standpoint
- 11:19and just in general, do you think that that has affected the
- 11:23way Talent is coming up in the world?
- 11:26Do you think that more people are saying?
- 11:28Okay, well I don't really necessarily need to be talented,
- 11:30I don't need to be a great actor.
- 11:31I'm going to be a great singer, right, or whatever.
- 11:33But do you think that now people are taking the easy way out and
- 11:36they're just like, oh, I'll just Do something stupid on Instagram
- 11:38or Tick, Tock, and become famous.
- 11:40Or do you think that Talent will always be important in the
- 11:46entertainment industry or becoming famous?
- 11:48It will say entertainment industry to the matter is we
- 11:53take acting as an example like okay, yeah, maybe might have a
- 11:56big following, but if you've never acted, if you don't have a
- 11:58talent for acting then you're going to be a trash actor,
- 12:01aren't you, you know, right. And at the end of the day, Fuel,
- 12:06making a production a movie. Depends what it is.
- 12:09If we just like, oh, okay. I had a cameo in an Adam Sandler
- 12:12movie then. Yeah, who gives a fuck, right.
- 12:14Let's just for fun, but if like, okay, you've just been cast as
- 12:17okay. Like here's a, really good
- 12:18example, right? Okay, Harry Styles has been sort
- 12:21of going into acting more recently, you know, he's a big
- 12:24musician. Now, he's sort of transitioning
- 12:26into into acting. And you know what, from what
- 12:28I've seen is a good little actor, you know, he's clearly
- 12:32trained for it. He's clearly got some Something
- 12:35he's been giving lead roles and he deserves it.
- 12:38You know, different industry. Logan Paul is became big on
- 12:43YouTube, has a background in amateur wrestling signed a
- 12:46contract with WWE and started wrestling for them and you know
- 12:50what has actually done a fantastic job?
- 12:52Because he's put the he's better than some of the people on the
- 12:54roster been there? Yes.
- 12:56And it's comes down to work ethic and putting and taking it
- 12:59seriously and that that like, work hard work and what you put
- 13:06into it will always be more important than, you know, you're
- 13:09following or whatever because don't forget like you're
- 13:11following, can can wean it can disappear and you know like
- 13:16again there's a difference between being the flavor of the
- 13:19month versus being respected for what you do, you know, I mean
- 13:23like that kind of People respecting you for your craft
- 13:28and what you do means that they might be lifelong fans of your
- 13:30work. Whereas if you just get a viral
- 13:32video or viral videos, that doesn't necessarily mean that
- 13:35people are fans who you are. They might be, there could be
- 13:37wrong. Like people could be fans of
- 13:38your comedic style or whatever. But, you know, when you see
- 13:43people, especially people that like, they get like one viral
- 13:45video and then they sort of build a lot of mini career off
- 13:47that. And I'm not taking anything from
- 13:49that, by the way. I'm not saying that's a bad
- 13:51thing. I'm just saying that like, I
- 13:55really do feel like there's a big distinction between being a
- 14:00celebrity online versus the acting industry and stuff like
- 14:03that. What I'm quickly learning is
- 14:05that, yes, you might be able to build a presence online and, you
- 14:08know, be seen by more people and potentially even casting agents
- 14:11and stuff who might be looking at these websites, but the fact
- 14:14of the matter remains that the entertainment industry is still
- 14:16a separate entity that you have to prove yourself in and you
- 14:20have to, and this is again, why it makes sense to be humble and
- 14:24be easy to work with, on sets and stuff.
- 14:26Because, you know, you're going to get more rows.
- 14:28You're going to be able to To be by more people, you know?
- 14:32Whereas if it's all like, oh, I got this about following, you
- 14:35know, I've got this, many people follow me.
- 14:36So, this is why you should give me a part in the movie that
- 14:39might, that might work for a few people.
- 14:40But I think a lot of actors, sorry, a lot of directors and
- 14:44such and probably not going to want to work with you, right?
- 14:47Basically, you go because you have an ego automatically in
- 14:51their mind. You automatic and let's be
- 14:53realistic. But but like well what does it
- 14:55mean? Let's say you've got 5 million
- 14:57followers, right? And And a director is thinking
- 15:00about whether or not to cast you in the movie like okay.
- 15:03Yeah. Maybe that might be worth
- 15:06tapping into from a marketing standpoint that might be worth
- 15:08tapping into. But at the end of the day, a
- 15:11movie has a budget, right? And then it's projected sales.
- 15:16And if you're acting is trash and it brings the movie down and
- 15:21then that movie flops, Who they gonna look at going to look at
- 15:25you and be like, you're the reason that this fault right?
- 15:28You know, I mean, we saw it with kind of with those that movie,
- 15:35It's morphin time. Morpheus, is it?
- 15:37No not Morpheus. Mobius.
- 15:40Sorry morbius Mobius. Yes, that's interesting because
- 15:47okay you had this huge actor Jared Leto and from what I
- 15:52understand, they're not particularly great story, it was
- 15:55a big just power, no Big Marketing Ploy the pump loads of
- 15:59money into it, but apparently just wasn't good and the
- 16:03internet dunks on it and made memes about it and people looked
- 16:06people in the industry. Looked at that, like, oh that I
- 16:08think the production Company looked at it like, oh, this is
- 16:10an opportunity. So when the movie originally
- 16:13flops, they took it out of the cinema.
- 16:15Which I didn't even know that companies did this.
- 16:17But yeah, they took it out the cinema and then they re-released
- 16:20it thinking that all its got online Buzz, the wrong reasons.
- 16:24But it's got online bars and then it again and then they just
- 16:29took it away again. And it's like the internet world
- 16:33is different from the entertainment industry.
- 16:35It's a different world and but that's not to say that people
- 16:38can't get up. It's because we have seen people
- 16:41get those opportunities, but they still have to work just as
- 16:43hard. I mean, you look at someone like
- 16:45KSI, the rapper in the UK, you know, he's done things like
- 16:48YouTube boxing and branched out, and he's becoming a bigger
- 16:52celebrity more and more over time.
- 16:53But he still has to work just as hard.
- 16:55Yes, the work. Yeah, he gets opportunities to
- 16:58work with people in the industry stuff, but yes, to just bust his
- 17:01ass working. Really hard to get those
- 17:02opportunities still and continue to get those opportunities.
- 17:05So make no mistake like it might make it a bit easier.
- 17:09Easier if, you know you know it's the way I look at it is
- 17:12online status and followings. Probably get you an interview
- 17:17and that's it. You still got pretty okay.
- 17:20Yeah. Okay.
- 17:21I think that I can see that and I guess I guess my and you
- 17:25actually answered it you know, pretty dead-on I guess my thing
- 17:28was like an example of KSI. I mean he has talent, you know,
- 17:31today he actually has talent so I would be I would be more.
- 17:37So speaking of and you answered this actually of like the person
- 17:40that does the viral videos, like you said right?
- 17:42Like the viral videos that is not talented to just So that way
- 17:47they can get out there and become famous, you know, don't
- 17:50care about acting anything like that, just to kind of be famous,
- 17:54but that doesn't hold, audience's attention in the real
- 17:58world, in the, you know, in the entertainment world, you know,
- 18:02in a movie, in a movie that doesn't hold audience's
- 18:05attention, because you can do something stupid and videotape.
- 18:08It doesn't equate to 0. He's going to be an amazing
- 18:11actor. What I mean, if we go back to
- 18:14the local pool example, I think It's a really good illustration
- 18:17of that or a demonstration that because it's like and me as a
- 18:21rest up in a lifelong residents and I kind of knew that he was
- 18:24going to be good but only because he'd had that amateur
- 18:27wrestling background. If it, if he had never stepped
- 18:30foot in a wrestling ring ever in his entire life, he never had
- 18:32any training. I would have been a bit more
- 18:34like mmm. How's this going to go?
- 18:36But maybe bad body is an exact more of an example.
- 18:39The rapper. He also wrestled for WWE and did
- 18:43extensive training for and was also really, really good.
- 18:46Um he comes from, you know, music industry.
- 18:49Logan Paul comes from online celebrity stars but they both
- 18:53people looked at them. Wrestling fans looked at them,
- 18:55like, mmmm is this really gonna is this going to, what?
- 18:57I don't know. I don't think this is going to
- 18:59go down very well and then it worked out boom but because a
- 19:04hot but they started to prove themselves right to those
- 19:08audiences, right? So yeah, they are.
- 19:10I agree with you. They are different Industries
- 19:12and you have to prove yourself and that's it.
- 19:14Simple as that they are. They are completely different
- 19:17Industries and that's another thing I'm learning because like
- 19:19you said, online status doesn't translate to real world status.
- 19:24So you think that there will always be that world for actors
- 19:29actresses you know singers just Talent.
- 19:33I'm just gonna say Talent well again skill.
- 19:36Yeah. And also I think it comes back
- 19:38to our conversation before about the difference.
- 19:41In mediums difference in content like movies and TV shows are
- 19:45longer forms of And they, you know, they require years and
- 19:49years of training and dedication, and passion and, you
- 19:53know, and drive and you know, some of those people that are
- 19:57getting those brakes have been working very, very many years
- 20:00before they get them. Like I think the guy who got
- 20:03cast as Hopper and stranger things the cop, he he only
- 20:09entered acting later in his life but he'd been pushing for a
- 20:14while before he got that, right? And I think He was not even do
- 20:16to get that raw. It just kind of came eventually
- 20:20and then he got it and then it changed his life.
- 20:21But he was still working. Very, very hard for a number of
- 20:24years before he got there. And there's many instances of
- 20:27that where people have worked hard.
- 20:29I mean and faced a lot of adversity and eventually they
- 20:33get they get their break which gives me hope by the way, I am
- 20:36looking at that. Yeah.
- 20:39Yeah. Well you always hear about that
- 20:41story, right? Always here by the oh yeah.
- 20:43That person. They were living in their van
- 20:45for you. 16 and a half years or since they were born and then,
- 20:50you know, just one day they stumbled upon somebody that gave
- 20:53them a chance and next thing, you know, you're a rich.
- 20:56So you always right here those, it's true.
- 20:59My my go-to toys. What's his name?
- 21:03Hey Bart. Hey Bubba, Al Pacino.
- 21:07Yeah, in The Godfather, he was broke around that time and I
- 21:11think it was the director. Francis Ford Coppola didn't even
- 21:14want him as the leader, who'd like It was like against it and
- 21:17I get the rest of the people on set.
- 21:19Had to like push for him to be to be included.
- 21:22Yeah, well I think maybe the maybe it was the production
- 21:25company or someone else pushed for him but the director didn't
- 21:28one else something like that and you know and he was an impasse
- 21:32in his career and he got that role and then it look at the
- 21:35couches whole life but real and it was made for him that role
- 21:39couldn't imagine anyone else in that role.
- 21:42Right? And you know it just depends on
- 21:44the vision but I I said, so that's another thing that keeps
- 21:48you going because you're like, at any point in time anything
- 21:51can change right? At any point in time, anything?
- 21:55All it takes, is that one eye that one, right person, that one
- 21:58opportunity that warrant one door, open for somebody to
- 22:02contact you and be like, hey, I saw your podcast and you know
- 22:05what? I like your setup.
- 22:07I like your questions. I like your, you know, right.
- 22:09All it takes, is that one thing and that's why we keep doing it.
- 22:12That's why we keep putting it out there.
- 22:13Putting it out there. Putting out there, right?
- 22:16Because this is our this is our truth, but at the same time like
- 22:20anything can happen. And you know what they say,
- 22:23right before you get to the gold?
- 22:25That's when you people usually stop, you know, that's when they
- 22:28stop digging right before they get to the gold.
- 22:31And so, imagine you go your life and you stop your podcast stops.
- 22:35You're like, I'm over it. I'm going to go get a job and
- 22:37just gonna be away. Gee, you know it.
- 22:39Go get a job, right? And maybe one more podcast,
- 22:43somebody would have saw that podcast and they're like, oh, I
- 22:47like him as an online host, for such-and-such whatever, you
- 22:51know? Damn you're inspiring me here
- 22:54with this is it's all right. Yeah that's part of the yeah
- 23:04that's part of the things that is so I think intriguing about
- 23:08this business is that literally you never know what's going to
- 23:11happen. You never know and you can
- 23:12almost create your own future you know because that's what it
- 23:16is. You're creating something out of
- 23:18nothing. You're going to your podcast you
- 23:21know you Bad idea and now look at it so it's creating something
- 23:26out of nothing. Like I have this idea.
- 23:28Okay, it's going to suck at first but I'm going to figure it
- 23:32out, I'll get them, I'm gonna make it work, I've got to make
- 23:34it work, did it suck you. Look back at that you're just
- 23:40like there's someone there's someone right now.
- 23:45Shout when she pops and her friend who check him out my
- 23:49older episodes and They were all you're going to instead of
- 23:55looking at the working our way backwards.
- 23:57We're going to start from the beginning onwards and I'm like,
- 23:59oh my God, but I feel like some of the early ones that I won't
- 24:03say trash. I'm still proud of them but like
- 24:05who I did not find my footing for a while.
- 24:09It took me a while I was just shy, I was nervous.
- 24:14That's what happened, but that's what happens.
- 24:16And that's the whole Simpson. Stay like I was telling you
- 24:18right? You just put it out there, it
- 24:20sucks. But after you watch it, It.
- 24:22You can see what you can tweet, what you need to tweak because
- 24:25it's right there in front of you because when you're in your own
- 24:27mind or even on paper, it's like whatever this sounds great.
- 24:31But when you put it out there you know, to visualize it and
- 24:34you're like oh man yeah this is horrible.
- 24:37Okay. I know what I need to change.
- 24:38It's easy. Exactly.
- 24:44And that's similar for my first few seasons, whatever.
- 24:48I was like man. This kind of sucks like I'm, you
- 24:51know I'm glad that you know too. Two people that are watching it
- 24:53like it, but this sucks and then you start getting ideas and you
- 25:00start being like, I can tweak this, I tweak that and the next
- 25:02thing, you know, you have a Simpsons been on for, you know,
- 25:0540 seasons. Never know man, you never know a
- 25:11couple of final questions for you.
- 25:12Sir Jitter what is happiness to you?
- 25:21Oof happiness to me. you know what happiness to me, I think is
- 25:30doing what I enjoy doing, which is this writing thing and acting
- 25:35like I said, you know, occasionally but I think just
- 25:40being able to do that, not having a schedule being able to
- 25:43do And create what I want to create.
- 25:48I think that would be. I think that's happiness to me
- 25:52guy when I'm in front of the computer and I'm editing a video
- 25:55or I'm writing, you know, trying to come up with new ideas to
- 25:59write things that's happiness, you know, and and it's so crazy
- 26:05because I know it's so simple. You know, I when I try to
- 26:08explain somebody, I'll go, why don't you go traveling and why
- 26:10don't you do this and why don't you do?
- 26:13I don't mind because it's cool but that's not my idea of
- 26:16happiness. You know, my idea of happiness
- 26:19is sitting down in front of my computer, you know, with no
- 26:23cares in the world, right? No cares in the world.
- 26:26Like I'm just going to sit here. I have X amount of hours to
- 26:28create something or to edit something or to whatever, maybe
- 26:32get a pizza, you know, and just be there, maybe have some music
- 26:35or something. You know, showing the side just
- 26:38being there. That is my happiness.
- 26:41And then of course, then the gym Because yeah, I think I kind of
- 26:46really saw that but now overall, I think, yeah, I think that's
- 26:51great. And then talking to people, you
- 26:53know, meeting people that are on the same wavelength, because
- 26:58I've I've seen a huge difference.
- 27:02In from California to Illinois. Because, well, currently right
- 27:06now, I'm Illinois just for, you know, a few weeks or whatever,
- 27:08but The California mindset and being around different creative
- 27:13people, you know, that's a lot different than being around
- 27:16people that might not necessarily understand the
- 27:20industry. Hmm, you know, because I always
- 27:24feel like I have to tone it down a little bit, like the creative
- 27:28side because people that don't understand will say, oh, you
- 27:31might be weird. Right?
- 27:32But people that have a creative nature are going to be like,
- 27:35okay, I can kind of, you know, to me, I can kind of see where
- 27:38you're going with that and I think I think being around
- 27:41like-minded people is why I feel the happiest also where I can
- 27:45like, you know, say my ideas out loud.
- 27:47Not worried about being judged and being like, okay, this is,
- 27:50this is what I think that's yeah, I think that's it.
- 27:54I think that's happiness, you know, that's my form of of
- 27:59happiness. Britt in, love it.
- 28:04What's the best advice you've ever received?
- 28:08Keep going. It just, just get, just
- 28:11literally just keep going, you know, I think that's that's it.
- 28:16It just if you have an idea, do it, right?
- 28:22Because the people that are going to fault you, for living
- 28:25out, your idea are the ones that have ideas, and they never
- 28:29attempted to live them out, right?
- 28:31But the people that have ideas and that are living them out,
- 28:34they understand your struggle, right?
- 28:35They understand how hard it is, to formulate this idea into
- 28:39something. Being worthwhile and so they
- 28:42understand it, you know? And so I think the best advice I
- 28:46ever got was just, just keep going.
- 28:49If it sucks. It sucks.
- 28:50But you know what? You, you, you didn't fail
- 28:55because you tried, you know, you would have failed if you were 70
- 29:00years old and you were like, I wish I would have done this
- 29:03podcast. I wish I would have done, you
- 29:06know, this YouTube show, that's when you fail, right?
- 29:09But when you just keep going, okay?
- 29:12So it doesn't become successful you know, in other people's
- 29:15world of successful, but you did it.
- 29:17And now you know. So I just keep going probably
- 29:21the best advice just Who cares? You know, just keep going, don't
- 29:24do it for the fame. Don't do it for that.
- 29:26Do it for you. Keep going.
- 29:28You guys, you have a few people watching or listening.
- 29:32I doing it for the right reasons, you know.
- 29:36What's the biggest life lesson you've learned so far?
- 29:42Plans change. Don't have a job, you know, I'm
- 29:53sure covid hit with everybody and this is where this is
- 29:57probably the biggest life lesson is that well actually a couple
- 30:00of times because initially, you know, I came to California to do
- 30:05Finance like that's where I was transferred from, you know,
- 30:08Illinois to do finance and then that dealership shut down it's
- 30:11always like okay, what do I You now and then, that's when the
- 30:14whole acting thing started. And, you know, my whole life
- 30:17growing up, I would have never expected to be on TV to be an
- 30:20actor, you know, to do any of this stuff.
- 30:22But then that changed right when I, you know, found out I was
- 30:25like, oh, this is kind of cool and then coronavirus hit and it
- 30:29was like, alright, another another fork in the road.
- 30:32Like, you know, like change where you got to figure out.
- 30:35Okay. This is going to change my life.
- 30:36One way this is going to completely change my life one
- 30:39way. Which way do you go?
- 30:40So yeah, it's just Expect but you know, kind of held your
- 30:45expectations down low, you know, work hard and do all your things
- 30:48but don't get so caught up in. It has to be like this, don't be
- 30:53a perfectionist, it doesn't have to be like this, you know, you
- 30:59can still get to the end goal by going like around, you know what
- 31:03I mean, it doesn't have to be tunnel vision like other things
- 31:05that are kind of calm obstacles. You can still get there.
- 31:08It just might not be exactly how you use it, how you thought it
- 31:11was going to be. This is that kind of makes.
- 31:15Yeah, I know everybody got hit with covid.
- 31:19Like, how did that affect you did covid affect you at all?
- 31:21Hmm. Yes or no.
- 31:28Yeah. So what is your know?
- 31:30What is your? No, because I can imagine that.
- 31:32Yes. What was your know, the kind of
- 31:34realized that my life was quite boring.
- 31:38I realized, I need to go out more and do things more.
- 31:42I'd kind of written. Like, okay, I'll give you some
- 31:45background. So, like I came back to England,
- 31:50just before covid here and then I moved up to where I live now,
- 31:54which is Manchester in the middle of England.
- 31:57Yeah, and there was a new thing for me.
- 31:58I've never lived here before. I'm from down, south in London's
- 32:01is all new for me. And I, You know it's time
- 32:09stopped working out. I let myself go.
- 32:12I naively thought that I would easily find work as soon as I
- 32:17came back and then I would I ended up being unemployed for
- 32:20about a year and a half after that.
- 32:22So as I was there there was a lot of suckage on that front and
- 32:27I kind of had a lot of time to think to be honest and I
- 32:31realized a lot about myself. I started reflecting on The last
- 32:37five to seven years of my life and what I learned most of my
- 32:4120s basically. Okay.
- 32:43And Yeah, I guess I kind of realized in that time that I
- 32:48wanted to pursue acting. I wanted to do things all things
- 32:51creative. I wanted to you know, start
- 32:54taking care of myself again and and I wanted to pursue my
- 32:59dreams, I didn't want to just do a nine-to-five anymore and I
- 33:03realized I had to take the leap and do freelance work and stop
- 33:06being scared, basically, and it is been a process and there's
- 33:13been a lot of steps to end it's still going.
- 33:15But that that was those were the probably the biggest things that
- 33:20I learn. You know, about myself and what
- 33:24I needed to do and everything. And and also just just not
- 33:28writing myself off, as well. I kind of wrote myself off as
- 33:31being like too old to go out part.
- 33:33You're never too old to party. Just put that down now and
- 33:36secondly, yeah, just just. Yeah.
- 33:39And also just, you know, you got to go out there and try
- 33:41different things like. Yeah, you're getting older and
- 33:43yeah, there are things that, you know, maybe you can't do anymore
- 33:46because you're a bit older. But there are other things you
- 33:47can do now that you're older. It's like, girl, they step
- 33:50entering different phases of your life, you know.
- 33:52That's You got to look at it new chapters in a book and it's
- 33:55like, what am I going to fill the pages with?
- 33:58You know, what am I going to do? What's going to be the next
- 34:01adventure? That's how I look at life now
- 34:04and it's exciting. You know, I'll be honest, like
- 34:06my life right now. It's interesting.
- 34:09Yeah, and I've not felt as well. Well, acting is bringing a lot
- 34:18of different opportunities. I'm learning a lot.
- 34:22The podcast means, I get to meet a lot of different people and
- 34:25interview. Amazing people from around the
- 34:27world, such as yourself. Thank you for being for being on
- 34:32the show, man. When it comes to things like
- 34:34Tick-Tock and doing the stuff online, I'm discovering that
- 34:37there are people that are fans of me, which is a getting used
- 34:42to that idea of having fans that doesn't right.
- 34:45I don't feel like I'm I'm what fans but no, I did.
- 34:53There's a lovely little Community or go online.
- 34:55The wonderful wonderful people really supportive and just nice
- 34:58and a real joy to learn from and, and entertain try to
- 35:05entertain, you know, right. And then, you know, even just
- 35:09different things, like trying different things out, like
- 35:12returning to Bar work after like five years of not working in
- 35:15customer services, like I was nervous about that.
- 35:18And, you know, I just do it to pay bills, you know, that's it.
- 35:22All right. In addition to other freelance
- 35:25things that I do, but it's like, I actually enjoy it.
- 35:29And, you know, it gets me out in the town center and doing things
- 35:34meeting people having drinks afterwards and stuff and who
- 35:37knows who you can meet doing that.
- 35:39You know, it's like I think There's a lot of variety in my
- 35:43life where there before they used to be a little boring
- 35:46routine and a kind of written myself off now.
- 35:49Life is exciting and every day is different and I don't know
- 35:51what to expect and some days are good.
- 35:53Some days are terrible, some days are amazing, like every day
- 35:56is different and that's an exciting place to be.
- 36:00It is. How about you can see that I can
- 36:02definitely? Wow.
- 36:03I mean I can definitely definitely see that.
- 36:06I mean so covid for you, it was a quote unquote.
- 36:10An enlightening experience. Yes.
- 36:12Because you got a chance to sit down and think about how you
- 36:17want it when this all, you know, kind of blew over.
- 36:20I mean I don't know if it has enough but you know what I mean?
- 36:22I went things open back up. Whatever you're like okay now I
- 36:24know this is what I need my life.
- 36:26To be like you did some self examining and I said, this is
- 36:30what I need my life to be like, well, it's just, I Look to what
- 36:34I'd been through over the last five to seven years because I
- 36:37went through a lot of tough times difficult times.
- 36:44Experiences that weren't good or Pleasant, you know, that it was,
- 36:48it was, it was rough, it's hard. Most of my twenties has been
- 36:51quite difficult, to be honest and some of the hardest times in
- 36:54my life and when I came back here because initially, it was
- 37:00kind of like, Is that is almost like deflating a balloon and
- 37:06then now you're pumping the air back in.
- 37:10You know? Oh, oh, is it because?
- 37:13Well, let me ask you, then that we are why?
- 37:15So, why do you think so? Because I think I have an idea
- 37:18but I want to, I want to make sure.
- 37:19What do you think? What would you mean exactly?
- 37:21Like you said, deflating the balloon is it?
- 37:23Because, like, when you were there in London, you were doing
- 37:26more stuff for you like, you are there like you were doing it and
- 37:29then you came back here and your you came back to Manchester
- 37:32York. Like I got to start all over
- 37:35again. Is that kind of was?
- 37:37Okay, I'll give you some background so in 2014, I left
- 37:41home, I was 21 and I went to University.
- 37:46And so I grew up in London, basically.
- 37:49And I went to a place, I don't know, International viewers,
- 37:54everyone in the UK will know what I mean.
- 37:55I lived in a place called sorry, which is about.
- 37:59It's about 40 minutes away from London by train, but It's not in
- 38:03London. It's like a different slide,
- 38:05south south of England. And, you know, I was at Uni for
- 38:08three years and first year was great.
- 38:13And then after that, tough times, I won't go to Every all
- 38:19the reasons why, but, yeah, that would be tough times.
- 38:22And then, and then I went abroad for three years, I lived abroad
- 38:26in Europe. And again, more tough times, not
- 38:31all bad, by the way. But just, Yeah, difficult things
- 38:35like that especially when I look back because at the time I just
- 38:38dealt with it as best as I could and you know Savor the good
- 38:41things tried to just get through the bad things, you know, what
- 38:43you do in life, right? And then when I got back to
- 38:47England, then after all of that and I sort of sat down to
- 38:50compress the last seven years of my life.
- 38:52I was like oh wow. Okay you know because because
- 38:56then you start reflecting on things a lot, the more time you
- 38:59have to reflect on things and examine things, the more you
- 39:02realize the about Yourself about life about everything, you know,
- 39:05and you look at things differently, what you when
- 39:08you're looking back, you always look at things differently to
- 39:11how you did when you, when you lift them obviously because
- 39:14you're a different person. But it's like a retrospective
- 39:21kind of experience where you're learning about yourself and kind
- 39:26of deciding what to do next, but also kind of forgiving yourself,
- 39:30giving yourself some leeway being like, hey, you know what?
- 39:32Like, we got through that. You don't have to punish
- 39:34yourself about it, you can take what you need to learn from it.
- 39:38Move on you, because life is going to move forward with or
- 39:42without you like and one thing I've learned is to stop
- 39:46resisting life and change and to this embrace it like It's my
- 39:51decision to go freelance was not a light one, I was terrified
- 39:56about the idea of, you know, not having a contract, not having a
- 40:01fixed weight, that paycheck stuff like that.
- 40:05And then I realized like actually went once I started
- 40:08doing it once, life kind of pushed me down that direction
- 40:11and it was my decision to. I took the plunge mostly for
- 40:14acting reasons as why did it. Because for those who don't
- 40:18know, acting is freelancer That's the way it works.
- 40:21It's project-by-project basis, I realized that, like, okay, this
- 40:27is what I want to do in my life and it was ironic because even
- 40:3010 15 years before that, I used to think about Freelancers like
- 40:33this who spooky era like oh this mysterious thing like this,
- 40:38that's really scary, right? And and then here I am years
- 40:41later, doing it. And my, it's not so bad, it's
- 40:43not easy, don't get me wrong, it's a lot of hard work and
- 40:45you're always seeking length, but there's a lot of positives
- 40:49about it. And I mean, for example, Freedom
- 40:53being able to choose when and when I work I have to work like
- 40:56crazy but at least I'm getting to pursue the things that I love
- 40:59more than I am spending doing stuff.
- 41:02I don't like you know and just little things like that little
- 41:06realizations like that have just blown my mind and made me more
- 41:09grateful like a much more grateful as a human being.
- 41:13Now I find myself thanking God Universe, whatever.
- 41:20For everything that I have. And I think back to like where I
- 41:23was so five years ago versus now.
- 41:26And yeah, very thankful man. Yeah, it I think if you have the
- 41:32right attitude, You know, things will happen, and things can
- 41:36change. And then you can kind of see it
- 41:38as a, where was I to, you know, where am I now?
- 41:43But you have to have the right attitude and the fact that you
- 41:45are able to snap yourself out of it, you know, out of that mode.
- 41:49That you know that definitely helps a lot because you have the
- 41:53right attitude because you could have easily just gone the other
- 41:56way of. All right, well, I'm not going
- 41:58to act, I'm not going to do anything.
- 41:59I'm just going to let this drag me down for the rest of my life,
- 42:02right? So I think having the right, Add
- 42:04it to it, and knowing which way to go is.
- 42:06Yeah, and you did the right thing, but the self-reflection,
- 42:10I don't know that I've ever said this.
- 42:13What I'm about to say on the podcast before.
- 42:14I've definitely said it in live streams, but the main reason why
- 42:19I'm pursuing acting and creative Endeavors and not doing the 925,
- 42:25is that like I did that and it made me miserable.
- 42:29And I realized that like, I can't force myself to do that.
- 42:36Like I know there's tons of people around the world that do
- 42:38it day in day out and people people for different, everybody
- 42:41is different. That's the thing like some
- 42:43people are super content with 925 shift, work whatever.
- 42:47And if you're happy if it makes, if it works for your life and
- 42:51what you're into and whatever your the makeup of what your
- 42:54life is, if you are, happy roll with it, it doesn't matter what
- 42:58the fuck anyone else is saying that's their life.
- 43:01Focus on you if you're happy, that's all that matters.
- 43:05But I realized for me specifically, I can't be happy
- 43:09working in a nine-to-five working for someone else.
- 43:12I just can't and I felt bad about it.
- 43:15I felt bad at the, oh, I'm being paid a decent check.
- 43:18And, you know, my work is pissy easy, and it's not that
- 43:21difficult, right? But I felt like an asshole for
- 43:24feel for what, like, for not feeling like it was enough like,
- 43:27I mean, I remember very clearly years ago, sitting in this
- 43:30office And I've been working in the job for about six, or seven
- 43:33months, and I was just doing that Basic Marketing work.
- 43:36That's my background marketing and I was just, I was sick of
- 43:41it. I was bored.
- 43:41I was, I was depressed. I wasn't I wasn't doing anything
- 43:44creative in my life and I didn't know at the time, that, that was
- 43:48the problem. But I was just miserable and I
- 43:51felt so bad about it. I was like, what's wrong with
- 43:54me? Like I, you never happier, you
- 43:56never content, but that right there is integral in the whole
- 44:00point. I can't sit and be content.
- 44:03I can't sit and be like, oh, this is fine.
- 44:05I've got a kind of just throw all of my shit against the wall
- 44:09and hope it will stick and something to work out because at
- 44:12least I tried, like, if it's like what you said earlier,
- 44:15like, if everything I do is a failure, well, at least I put my
- 44:18heart and my soul into it and I can just be like, you know what,
- 44:21I least, I gave my everything and I died as a failure that
- 44:27tried. But if I have if I'd have stuck
- 44:32in those jobs that I hated and never tried and had that, what
- 44:35if that shit would drive me? Crazy.
- 44:38The, what if, what if I have done this?
- 44:41What if I'd done that, I can't live my life with what if it has
- 44:43to be a? Give it my all or I just don't
- 44:47fucking bother and that's it. I hate to say it but you're
- 44:51right and you know, I don't know if it was similar for you that
- 44:54it was for me like my My whole not wanting to work for
- 45:00everybody or for somebody else moment, I think came when I
- 45:04literally dedicated my whole life to, you know, the
- 45:08dealership that sent need to California, you know, I dead.
- 45:11I mean, literally from when I was 22 all the way till I was 30
- 45:1429, you know, I dedicated my doing your face death.
- 45:19This guy lookin good. Thank you, appreciate it.
- 45:24But yeah, I dedicated my whole life.
- 45:26You know, brought me California and then the dealership just
- 45:29shut down and you know, my life plan was be in the dealership
- 45:35world for those for my whole life, right?
- 45:37Go finance and general manager. Maybe own a dealership later on
- 45:40it. You know, I started early.
- 45:41So I was like okay you know, and then they completely shut down
- 45:44and that's when I realized I was like, okay I can't have a boss,
- 45:49you know what I mean? Like, I don't want to have
- 45:51somebody that has complete control over everything, you
- 45:56know that I Hi that I'm doing because somewhere to you like it
- 46:00was great but I felt like I was missing something you know, and
- 46:03then when I got into the creative world I was like okay
- 46:06this is what I was missing like this is it, you know, if I'm
- 46:11going to have a job, it needs to be very, very flexible when it
- 46:17comes to hours, like told me for that like that like that process
- 46:22like, okay, see you find out this place closes.
- 46:26But what's going through your head like how do you process
- 46:29that? Like what your immediate steps?
- 46:32You know, I honestly think that that sent me into a depression.
- 46:36Okay? Because you know, like I said, I
- 46:39gave my whole life to this place.
- 46:40I'm in California, so I'm two thousand miles away from home.
- 46:44Because, you know, and of course, you know, I'm with, you
- 46:47know, a couple people that came with me that are basically at my
- 46:50family but I'm still 2,000 miles away from home, and What my
- 46:55whole life's plan. What I had, you know, planned
- 46:58out for my life, has completely evaporated because of one
- 47:01person, you know? Because so in my mind, I don't
- 47:06know what to do. You know, my whole life had been
- 47:09kind of very traditional in a way where, you know, 9 to 5 job,
- 47:14even Comfort nine-to-five job or 99 would ever make money, you
- 47:19know, eventually I figured, I would get married, you know,
- 47:21just very traditional and always tried to do things how they say.
- 47:25You're supposed to do it, right? Exactly.
- 47:30But then when that changed that completely I think changed my
- 47:34mindset you know and we all have those things that change our
- 47:36mindsets, right? That that you can kind of go
- 47:39back and be. Like I remember exactly the day
- 47:42that my whole reality change and that my whole view on life, just
- 47:47completely changed and that was that was the day.
- 47:51And then you know, just fortunate enough to where I was
- 47:54in California. And that's when I got, I think I
- 47:58my first little extra gig background gig, you know, just
- 48:01randomly. I don't even know.
- 48:02I don't even remember honestly how it happened, but it was for
- 48:05like, right? You know, you don't remember how
- 48:07it happens, but like when you're okay, see you finished working
- 48:11with this car dealership. You're going through this tough
- 48:13time mentally and you're like, okay, but you got pay the bills,
- 48:17right? So like, did you just kind of
- 48:20look at acting as like? Oh, I like okay, talk to me
- 48:24about like, how it was. Introduce to you by did someone
- 48:26said oh you can make some money doing this.
- 48:28Like this is easy and you are give that a try or was it like
- 48:31you'd always been interested in acting and you just cut it off
- 48:34or I'll give this a go my money. So when I knew the dealership
- 48:39was closing, I started learning how to trade stocks, okay?
- 48:42And so I became a day trader so that way I could, you know, make
- 48:46my own money and I would have flexibility, you know, if I had
- 48:50to find another job to find another job.
- 48:53And so I just kind of continued day trading and trading stocks
- 48:58and then one day I forgot I was at a gym in West Hollywood.
- 49:04And and some random guy came up to me.
- 49:08And he asked me if I did acting or something like that.
- 49:11And now, you know, I was like, no because I hadn't thought
- 49:13about it. You know, at that point I hadn't
- 49:15thought about it and he said well you should you know, kind
- 49:19of get into he's background or something and that's when he
- 49:24introduced me to you know the acting and that's when I was in
- 49:27like say a little YouTube thing, I forgot thing was for guy Lele.
- 49:30Pons or something like that. It was you know something small
- 49:33but just being Around those people, I was like this is
- 49:35pretty cool, but the day trading, pretty much kept me,
- 49:39kept me afloat. And then the acting then, you
- 49:43know, I was like, oh, this is the kind of money that's in
- 49:46acting, okay? And then I was an extra and I
- 49:48was like, wait, wait, so eight hours a day.
- 49:52I can get paid this or he goes to overtime and I get free food,
- 49:56right? Because craft Services is like
- 49:58unreal, right? Exactly crap services on real
- 50:01and you're just like, wait and I get free food and I We don't
- 50:04have to do anything except for stand around.
- 50:06Take some directions. Maybe sit down and holding for a
- 50:10little bit. Okay, this is you know this is
- 50:12easy and then it just kind of spiraled from there and then you
- 50:17know, getting bigger roles and bigger roles.
- 50:19And I was like, oh okay there's this kind of money in this.
- 50:23Okay. So maybe a nine-to-five isn't
- 50:26isn't you know, the lifestyle that I kind of want to live.
- 50:29Maybe I want to live the actor freelance you know me.
- 50:34Make my own future type type life and, you know, fortunately
- 50:40enough, you know, I I've met some great people, you know,
- 50:43yourself included, obviously, that even though it, you know,
- 50:46it's taken awhile. Just meeting different people on
- 50:49different platforms across the country, across the world across
- 50:53the pond, you know, how random is that?
- 50:56And I just been grateful since then for just any opportunity
- 51:00that comes up. You know, anything but that was
- 51:03and I said I mean your Manchester I would have never
- 51:07met you. Like I would have never been on
- 51:10your podcast man. I was in the finance office
- 51:13somewhere it does. Blow my mind like I was doing a
- 51:16live stream the other day and one of them.
- 51:18Yeah. One of my followers said that
- 51:20she was in, I don't know, California, I guess.
- 51:24And yeah, it was just listening to my podcast with her friend in
- 51:29the car and then another person was like, oh yeah.
- 51:31In listening to your show, like, while we've been painting
- 51:35decorating, the house somewhere, and I'm like, what there are
- 51:37people across the world, listening to my stupid voice?
- 51:40Like what? Oh my God, that's amazing.
- 51:45But yeah, it's yeah, congratulations.
- 51:50I told you before I came on this podcast, like, I've watched your
- 51:53stuff. Oh wow, I mean, yeah,
- 51:55absolutely, absolutely. Subscribe to all your stuff.
- 51:58I said. Thank you so much, subscribe.
- 52:01Instagram. Yeah, I mean, listen man,
- 52:05anybody that has a creative mindset and that in that is bold
- 52:09enough. And that's another thing I, when
- 52:11I'm talking to somebody or watching a movie and the movie
- 52:13is stupid, right? The acting is horrible.
- 52:15And, you know, it and it is, it is, but it's not a budget movie,
- 52:19you know? It's not that high production
- 52:20movie, right? You kind of expect it, you know?
- 52:24And I try to explain to my this not in the industry.
- 52:26I might listen you don't understand how hard it is to put
- 52:30yourself out there. Right to, to, to put yourself in
- 52:35front of x amount of people because, you know, because
- 52:39you'll get judge and whatever and they say, well public
- 52:41speaking is like one of the hardest things in the world to
- 52:44do. And so, you know, I'll sit and
- 52:47watching a movie. And okay, the acting is horrible
- 52:51but just the respect Factor, right?
- 52:53Of of these people going out in this movie and being like, okay,
- 52:58I know, I'm not the best actor but I'm still going to Be on
- 53:02camera. I'm still gonna put myself out
- 53:04there that I know only maybe my friends and family is going to
- 53:07see like, and just doing anything, you know, putting
- 53:10yourself out there like it gives me a greater appreciation and
- 53:13and Kudos and love for anybody. That can do that, because it is
- 53:16hard, right? It is hard to put down your
- 53:19vulnerabilities into again, to go on camera, you know, for the
- 53:22world for people to see. It's difficult.
- 53:27It's, you know, especially if you're not used to that, if
- 53:31you're bringing NG was introverted.
- 53:32Like if your upbringing was introverted and now you're like,
- 53:35okay, now I got a flip switch and go outside for the world to
- 53:39see me. That's a difficult difficult
- 53:41thing to do. So that's why I respect those
- 53:44people so much, you know, anybody that can get on camera,
- 53:47you know, whether it's sucks or doesn't it doesn't matter?
- 53:50You know, just to be able to get past yourself, right?
- 53:53Give it and get past yourself and say I'm doing this.
- 53:56And I play. I agree with that.
- 54:00Well, this this has been, this has been an absolutely amazing
- 54:02show. It's been one of my longest for
- 54:05a long time. We're up to two hours. 21
- 54:08minutes man has been that long. It's not for me to take a nap 35
- 54:13hard as my final question to you.
- 54:16Do you have any upcoming projects or some final thoughts
- 54:18you'd like to share with our listeners?
- 54:21Yeah, upcoming projects, I'm still doing my show, so you
- 54:25know, those episodes will still be coming out.
- 54:27I do have a movie small feature, film that I was in since I've
- 54:32been back here. Actually, it's called Mackenzie.
- 54:36And so that should be out in September also on to be
- 54:41shattered choices as well. So that was another little
- 54:44small. Well, small film that I was in
- 54:48but that's just kind of been what I've been doing.
- 54:50Since I've been back in Illinois for the, you know, for the past
- 54:52couple of weeks, you're trying to keep myself busy, you know,
- 54:55while I'm here before I, you know, head back across the
- 54:57country. And yeah, I mean, and that's,
- 55:00and that's basically it. And, of course, this project
- 55:02which I've been looking forward to, to be honest with you, man.
- 55:05I've been looking forward to this, to this, for a couple
- 55:07weeks, you know, since you told me, yeah, since you told me
- 55:10about it, like, I was looking forward to this for a couple
- 55:13weeks because this is Maybe on a podcast that you know, you don't
- 55:18understand. Like I'm still so new to this
- 55:20industry that everything blows my mind, everything is like,
- 55:25holy crap, he wants me to be on a podcast.
- 55:28Like okay, you know, I everything everything.
- 55:33Just every opportunity I'm just like, oh me are you sure?
- 55:36Have you seen me like, you know, who I am?
- 55:38Really you want me to be on it? Oh, okay.
- 55:40I guess you know like so I I mean it I guess.
- 55:44Ted, thank you. Thank you, man.
- 55:47This thank you man. You've been absolutely
- 55:49incredible. I've really enjoyed talking to
- 55:54you about about all of this. Like this started as me wanting
- 55:57to just understand what your show was and its ability to just
- 56:01uh no no I think there's legs with with that project.
- 56:10I think it just needs tweaking I'd.
- 56:12But I think like a good idea is always A good idea dinner
- 56:16sometimes things just need tweaking like crikey my show,
- 56:20this podcast needed a lot of tweaking.
- 56:22My one of the biggest things I had to learn to do which people
- 56:26have remarked on, as well as is trying to make it flow better.
- 56:31I used to be so rigid and not really, I wasn't really a,
- 56:34particularly great interview. I don't think I was too shy and
- 56:36nervous and it didn't flow very well.
- 56:39It's like awkward. It'd be like going from one
- 56:41question to the next. And one thing I've really tried
- 56:44to do is is make it like flow better and be more
- 56:46conversational and you know and then it just kind of became that
- 56:52and and that and that's why I pride myself on and then other
- 56:54things like being able to ad lib and just kind of just be in the
- 56:57moment, be in the zone stopped worrying about the show and just
- 57:02make it a good piece of entertainment restoration,
- 57:04right? But the people can enjoy
- 57:06sedation, right? Yeah.
- 57:08So, yeah, I believe in what you're doing and and yeah, just
- 57:12thank you so much for this, this wonderful conversation.
- 57:14Ation man, really appreciate that.
- 57:16You're always, welcome back on the show.
- 57:18Thanks man. Any criticisms tweak edges or
- 57:22whatever you know that you have for my show, please, you know,
- 57:25call me and you like say you have all my information.
- 57:28Send me a message. Something let me know because
- 57:30you know, like I mentioned before every single episode
- 57:34every single season I want to get better, right?
- 57:38I wanted to move up II saw where it was And you know, I have a
- 57:44vision of where it can go, you know, I might not necessarily
- 57:48know how to get it there but I have a vision of how it can go
- 57:53and so any any criticisms any tweaking edges anything that
- 57:58anybody says like I'm all ears. I'm listening.
- 58:00You know any stories that somebody has that?
- 58:03They'll tell me. Okay listen you know this person
- 58:06dot dot dot dot dot and they're like okay can you make that into
- 58:09something? I'm in like I you know what I
- 58:11mean? Like, I'll sit in a dark room
- 58:14and I will create a weird story that I will make it into
- 58:16something crazy, you know. But and so anybody that's
- 58:20willing to engage I'm definitely all ears.
- 58:23You know I'm not like hey this is my show.
- 58:26I'm not doing it this way because there's no, no I'm like.
- 58:28Okay look, if you think that'll make it better I'll try it out.
- 58:32If it doesn't work, it doesn't work big deal if it does work.
- 58:36Cool, what other ideas you got? So, you know, I'm definitely
- 58:39open to to Thing to criticism thuy kids, you know tweaks.
- 58:44Whatever. So and you got your stuff on
- 58:47together so you know, anything you want to tell me for sure.
- 58:50Please just, you know, send me a message and I'll be alright,
- 58:52cool. I added to the next episode,
- 58:54whatever, you know, I'm in. Thank you so much man.
- 58:57Really, really, really been a pleasure.
- 58:59And man, he said you have my utmost respect.
- 59:02Yeah. Almost respect me for everything
- 59:04that you're doing and I see you've come a long way, man.
- 59:07So it's Thank you. I'm proud to be on this show.
- 59:11Yeah. And you have my respect to man.
- 59:12Thank you so much. And to all the listeners of the
- 59:15Christian re podcast, as always be safe.
- 59:18Be well, and I'll see you in the next one.
